Media Matters attacks the Daily Wire because we called males "male" on the show. Also, the NFL is considering what I think may be one of the most insane affirmative action schemes in professional sports, and why I'm wrong about that.

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, Media Matters attacks the Daily Wire because we committed the sin
00:00:05.120 of calling males male. So we'll go through that today. They're very upset about it,
00:00:10.160 and as they are every single time we say anything about anything. So we'll talk about that. Also,
00:00:15.260 five headlines, including the media's increasingly desperate attempt, but also hilarious,
00:00:20.940 increasingly desperate, increasingly hilarious attempts to make Stacey Abrams into some sort of
00:00:25.040 superstar. And it's really gotten pretty absurd. So we'll talk about that. And in our daily
00:00:30.860 cancellation, I cancel the NFL for considering what I think may be one of the most insane
00:00:38.020 affirmative action schemes ever devised, certainly in professional sports. Also, we'll have a why
00:00:45.820 I'm wrong email and much more all in the way. But first, I want to tell you about LifeLock.
00:00:50.780 You know, I've been almost duped a time or two myself because these internet scammers,
00:00:55.760 I like to think I'm, you know, I'm pretty jaded. I'm pretty ready for people to try to scam me,
00:01:03.680 especially when it comes to emails. But they're getting pretty clever. And that's why there are
00:01:07.680 a lot of close calls. And that's why you want to be sure that you're protected. The coronavirus
00:01:11.140 pandemic has sparked a massive increase in the number of cybercrime complaints flowing into the
00:01:17.560 FBI. The agency's Internet Crime Complaint Center, which typically receives 1,000 complaints per day
00:01:22.100 before the pandemic, is now receiving 3,000 to 4,000 per day. Coronavirus-related schemes include
00:01:28.760 domain names, spoofing personal protective equipment vendors, scams promising government checks,
00:01:35.560 fraudulent COVID charities, all kinds of stuff like that. The ones with the charities are the worst
00:01:39.780 because they're taking advantage of your charitable nature. Every day we put our information at risk
00:01:44.860 on the internet, no matter how careful you are. And cybercriminals keep finding new ways
00:01:49.060 to steal your identities. The good thing, though, is that there is LifeLock. LifeLock is a leader in
00:01:54.480 identity theft protection. LifeLock detects a wide range of identity thefts, like your social security
00:01:59.420 number for sale on the dark web, all kinds of things that you may not be able to detect yourself.
00:02:04.120 Look, no one can prevent all identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses,
00:02:08.320 but LifeLock can see threats that you might miss on your own if you're just monitoring your credit.
00:02:13.020 So join now and save up to 25% on your first year. Go to LifeLock.com slash Walsh. That's
00:02:19.480 LifeLock.com slash Walsh. LifeLock.com slash Walsh for 25% off. Okay, by the way, I don't mean to brag.
00:02:29.620 I don't know if you can tell, but I did get my hair cut over the weekend. So for the first time in two
00:02:32.880 months, I was able to get my hair cut. You know, I feel like that's the great privilege now in American
00:02:37.700 life is if you're in a haircut state or not. Maybe that's what the coming civil war will be over.
00:02:44.260 It's, you know, haircut states versus non-haircut states. The thing is, though, I could tell how
00:02:49.460 desperate people are because the place where I get my hair cut reopened for the first time on Sunday
00:02:57.040 at 10 a.m. By 10, 15 a.m. on Sunday, there was a three and a half hour wait. So, and I kept thinking
00:03:03.200 just how bad I feel for the people working at these haircut places, you know, because they just have to
00:03:11.640 deal with these long lines, just one shaggy dog after another coming in, and they're wearing masks
00:03:18.980 the whole time, and there's hair flying all over. They're probably getting hair in the mask. That can't
00:03:23.440 be sanitary. So, but then again, they're back at work. So I'm sure that's a, that's a good thing as
00:03:28.120 well. Okay. Um, what we're going to start with are good friends over at Media Matters, who are,
00:03:34.100 of course, huge fans of this show, uh, and of the Daily Wire in general. They published another lengthy
00:03:41.020 expose about us on Friday. Now this is to be distinguished from the regular, almost daily,
00:03:47.260 or really, I think literally daily little posts they do about, uh, whatever offensive thing that one
00:03:53.320 of us might've happened to say that day. So those sorts of things that you expect. Um, but then
00:03:59.720 every once in a while, they go more in depth in trying to really reveal our bigotry and show what,
00:04:06.520 what nasty, horrible people we are. So they tried that again on Friday with this article,
00:04:10.500 uh, that the headline Daily Wire hosts demean trans high school athletes at center of Alliance
00:04:16.120 defending case. Now the author, um, Alex Patterson introduces the article this way, this way on
00:04:22.740 Twitter. It says the Daily Wire's anti-trans pundits, Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro, and Michael
00:04:29.400 Knowles repeatedly misgendered and demeaned two teenage athletes, grown men commenting about
00:04:35.720 teenagers' genitals. Disgusting. Yes. Disgusting. Disgusting. It's so disgusting that we would dare
00:04:44.020 mention that males are males. What a horrible and disgusting and inappropriate thing. Absolutely
00:04:51.040 inappropriate. Shocking. Scandalizing. Because, because that's what Alex means here, right?
00:04:57.380 We commented on teenagers' genitals in the sense that we said males are males. So in that way,
00:05:04.440 you know, the doctor, when, when, when the doctor tells you it's a boy, he's commenting on the baby's
00:05:10.160 genitals. Quite literally, he is looking at the genitals and announcing the sex. So when the doctor
00:05:18.100 tells you that, would you, you pervert, what are you doing commenting on my baby's genitals?
00:05:23.900 Well, Alex, by the way, what does that tell you? You know, the people in the medical profession,
00:05:28.580 when they want to determine the sex of a, of a baby, they look at the genitals. What does that tell
00:05:33.260 you? Think about that for a second. Use your brain, not to comment on your internal organs,
00:05:38.800 especially one that I'm not sure you actually possess. Okay, let's check out the article. This
00:05:42.980 is, this is a pretty fun. We'll take a look at it. And actually, if you could, producer,
00:05:49.060 please play a little bit of sad violin music while I read this, because it will help set the tone,
00:05:54.940 I think, and get us all in the mood of, of this article. Okay, it says, across several pieces of
00:06:01.700 online content and podcasts, the Daily Wires, Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, and Michael Knowles
00:06:06.720 attacked and misgendered two trans teenagers at the center of a lawsuit from extreme anti-LGBTQ group
00:06:14.960 Alliance Defending Freedom that seeks to prevent them from competing in girls' sports.
00:06:20.540 Since May 11th, the reliably anti-trans outlet and pundits have posted four podcast segments that
00:06:27.300 received over 215,000 views on YouTube and two articles that earned a combined 158,000 interactions
00:06:34.280 on Facebook. The pundits repeatedly misgendered the teen athletes and fear-mongered about trans-inclusive
00:06:41.100 sports, with Knowles claiming that recognizing transgender people is part of an agenda to end
00:06:47.720 objective reality. Shameful. What a bigot. Knowles is. After National Review first reported on the
00:06:55.320 story on May 11th, Daily Wire published two articles, one written by Walsh and the other by Amanda
00:06:59.620 Prestia Giacomo that repeatedly misgendered the athletes, referring to them as male or biologically
00:07:06.720 male. During the May 11th episode of Walsh's Daily Wire podcast, The Matt Walsh Show, he called trans
00:07:12.400 girls, quote, boys with XY chromosomes and penises. My God. Shocking. And claimed that, quote, people are like
00:07:23.340 Mr. Potato Head dolls now. You just take the different parts, swap them out. Doesn't matter. It makes no
00:07:28.820 difference. I did say that. He also claimed that the athletes are not females. Quote, not by science,
00:07:39.000 not by common sense, and not by human decency. The following day, Walsh doubled down on his remarks
00:07:44.340 and called trans athletes, quote, penis-wielding XYs. That's terrible. Terrible.
00:07:53.200 And claimed, quote, they're not girls and they're certainly not female. Shapiro, the outlet's
00:08:00.460 founder, also misgendered the athletes during the May 11th edition of The Ben Shapiro Show,
00:08:04.540 referring to them as biological males throughout the segment. On May 13th, Knowles fear-mongered about
00:08:10.620 trans-inclusive sports on his Daily Wire podcast, claiming that, quote, if the left can force you to
00:08:14.980 believe that men are women and women are men, then there is no objective reality. Knowles also said
00:08:20.600 that accepting transgender people's gender identity is how, quote, science is abused and appropriated
00:08:25.680 and monopolized and perverted and transformed to invert objective reality. The Daily Wire regularly
00:08:32.400 spreads hateful, anti-trans content that earns significant engagement online.
00:08:38.400 Okay, there it is. Wow. Yeah. Of course, every sane person listening to this right now is thinking,
00:08:52.180 wait, okay, but where's the offensive part? Where's the controversial part? I didn't hear it. I'm
00:08:58.400 confused. But that's it right there. That's all that stuff there where we say a bunch of things that
00:09:05.580 every single rational human on planet Earth agrees with. That's it. That's the part that
00:09:11.700 they're upset about. Now, a few observations here. First of all, notice again how the artificial and
00:09:23.360 arbitrary and invented distinction between sex and gender has finally been abandoned by the left.
00:09:30.460 It's important to notice what they've done. And it's long since been abandoned.
00:09:36.780 But this is just more evidence of that. Because the article says, we repeatedly misgendered the
00:09:41.920 athletes, referring to them as male or biologically male. Well, wait a second. I thought male was sex
00:09:48.100 and man was gender. That's what you guys told us for years. They're two different things.
00:09:54.700 That's what we were told. And now you're saying that calling a male male is misgendering?
00:10:04.480 How could it be misgender if it refers to sex? And sex and gender are two different things,
00:10:09.500 according to you. So you're saying that sex and gender are two words for the same thing now. Well,
00:10:14.940 of course they are. They're two words for the same thing. They always have been. Well,
00:10:19.340 not always. Originally, of course, gender was a linguistic term, a grammatical term. Words had
00:10:26.460 gender, not humans. So we didn't need to refer to humans having gender because humans have sex. We
00:10:32.320 don't need a second word for it. We've already got that covered. But words, on the other hand,
00:10:37.340 don't have a sex because they're not biological entities. And that's why we have gender to refer to
00:10:42.080 masculine or feminine words. But what the left did is they said, okay, we're going to take this
00:10:52.560 grammatical concept and we're going to apply it to people. And these are two different things.
00:11:00.160 Well, apparently not. Now they've gone back on that. They're not just saying that gender is fluid.
00:11:06.120 They're saying that sex, that biological sex is fluid. So this is the ultimate bait and switch.
00:11:14.580 Leftists, they tried to normalize this idea of gender fluidity, this idea that gender is a separate
00:11:20.040 thing and it can change or switch back and forth. And then right when people started to buy into it,
00:11:26.420 which nobody ever should have in the first place, they, without announcing it, switched sex back for
00:11:32.320 gender. So they, they, they, they tried to get us used to the idea of, you know, gender is this
00:11:37.340 different thing. You know, you could be biological male, but your gender could be woman and it's a
00:11:43.500 fluid thing. And you know, they tried to get us used to that. And right when some people started
00:11:48.660 getting used to it, they switched it around and they said that, oh no, no, actually that's, yeah,
00:11:52.780 he's, he's, he's a, he's not a male at all. He's a female. They went from trans women are women to
00:11:59.860 trans women are female, which is a clever move. Dishonest, despicable, false, um, incoherent,
00:12:12.420 you know, all that stuff too, but also clever strategically. Uh, number two, second point here.
00:12:19.960 And in fact, before we get to our second point, wanted to, uh, tell you about our friends at
00:12:25.380 ebb sleep. You know, if you're having trouble falling asleep at night, I think it's time to
00:12:30.580 try ebb. I have, this is a, uh, something I've constantly been plagued by. And before I tried
00:12:35.660 ebb, you know, I've, I said, I probably average about five, four or five hours of sleep a night,
00:12:39.400 which I'm told is not necessarily healthy. I'm told it could actually shorten your lifespan.
00:12:44.100 Uh, you should be getting a lot more sleep than that, but you know, I have trouble with it and
00:12:47.440 that's why ebb is great. Eb is the first and only wearable drug-free solution that targets the root
00:12:52.640 cause of sleeplessness, which is, which are those racing thoughts. Eb is clinically
00:12:56.180 validated and four out of five users report falling asleep faster and improving overall
00:13:01.020 sleep quality. It's a lot better in my opinion than taking drugs. You don't want to get, you
00:13:04.460 don't want to get dependent on that. And also they can make you groggy and that's not the best
00:13:08.540 solution. Um, ebb sleep is designed to work with your natural sleep wake rhythms to allow you to get
00:13:14.380 into that deep sleep more quickly. Eb sleep understands that uncertainty you may be experiencing at this
00:13:19.900 time and they want to help. Our listeners can save $25 off your order by using promo code Matt to save

00:13:43.080 today with everything going on. You need to get the sleep you need and deserve. Okay. Second point about
00:13:48.880 this. Um, you notice how there's no argument presented here, right? And there never is.
00:13:56.480 This is just emotion. I mean, my kids would be better at presenting a rational argument
00:14:02.640 than this. So this, this is what I'll say to Alex and media matters and all leftists with respect to
00:14:12.120 this issue and, and, and every issue really. Um, here's what I'll say. How about this?
00:14:21.600 Get it out of your system. Okay. You can yell, scream, cry, call me a bigot. Sure. Yes. I'm a bigot.
00:14:29.720 I'm a, I'm a hateful, terrible, evil, mean, awful. I'm, I'm Hitler. I am literally, I'm worse than Hitler.
00:14:36.780 Okay. Yeah. I'll just, let's grant you that for the sake of argument. Let's just, so we can move
00:14:41.920 on. I will grant you that you don't need to scream it anymore. Yes. All of that is true. We've established
00:14:48.160 it. Get it out of your system, out of the way. Okay. Hopefully you feel better. Hopefully we've,
00:14:55.480 we've, we've gotten past that part of the discussion. We've laid that framework.
00:15:01.760 Can we please now move on to the part of the discussion where you actually tried to explain
00:15:09.740 why I'm wrong? No, stop. Don't, don't start calling me a transphobe. Don't go in, don't go into the
00:15:18.640 phobes and the, and the is and the isms. We've already done that. We're past that now. Okay. Yes. I'm a
00:15:25.480 phobe. I'm an is, I'm an ism. Lay them all on me. I really don't care. We've already covered those bases
00:15:30.720 though. So those bases are covered. Let's, let's, let's move past it. You don't need to publish
00:15:36.600 another article saying Matt Walsh is a transphobe. We know that everybody knows that fine. I don't
00:15:41.220 care. Okay. What I'm asking you to do, Alex at Media Matters or anyone else over there or any leftist
00:15:51.100 anywhere, what I'm asking you to do, follow along, please. Okay. Just, just, just bear with me.
00:15:57.420 I'm asking you to present an argument which explains why and how I'm wrong and you're right.
00:16:10.340 Okay. And it should be really easy to do because I'm Hitler. You know, I'm, I'm a bigot. I'm Hitler.
00:16:16.640 I'm, I'm all these things. I mean, to, to beat me in an argument should be super easy. So just do it.
00:16:22.960 That's all. And, and I'm going to let you present it however you want, but, but I would suggest
00:16:30.260 that if you disagree with my take on the definition of the word male, okay. Or female. No,
00:16:39.560 stop. I, I, I know you want to start screaming bigot again. I know you do. You have like Tourette's
00:16:46.380 and you can't help it, but you don't need to because we've already done that. If you disagree
00:16:51.420 with my definition of the word female or male, then what you need to do really is, is give me the
00:17:01.320 right definition. Okay. That's all. Give me the right definition. Give me the right definition.
00:17:08.360 That's all you got to do. And I'll tell you what, I'll make this interesting too. We'll put some skin
00:17:12.720 in the game. All right. This is a deal that I'll make with media matters right now on this show.
00:17:18.040 If anyone over there can give me a coherent objective and valid definition of the word
00:17:25.740 female, I will apologize. I will admit I'm wrong. I will admit I'm a bigot. I've already done that,
00:17:34.340 but I'll apologize and admit I'm wrong. And I will come onto this show tomorrow with a rainbow flag
00:17:41.100 draped around me and I will pledge allegiance to the LGBT squad. Okay. That's what I do. I promise
00:17:48.780 you I will. If you can simply provide a coherent, objective, and valid definition of the word female.
00:17:58.140 The reason I stipulate coherent, objective, and valid is that because that's what a definition has to be
00:18:03.260 right in order to be a definition. But also you see, you can't do something like, well, the definition
00:18:08.600 is a female is a person who identifies as female. You can't do that. That's not going to work. Okay.
00:18:13.940 Because that by definition is neither coherent, objective, nor valid. Because you're using the
00:18:19.940 word you're defining in the definition for one. And two, it's a definition that tells me absolutely
00:18:25.760 nothing about the thing you're defining. Okay. So if you say X is a person who identifies as X,
00:18:33.460 that tells me nothing about X. I know absolutely nothing about X based on that.
00:18:39.040 And definitions are supposed to tell me something. In fact, they're supposed to tell me the definition.
00:18:44.320 So I should come away knowing what the thing is because you've defined it.
00:18:50.020 So you're going to have to do better than that. Right? Now, just to make this even easier,
00:18:55.400 I'll tell you what my definition is. Okay. I'll go first. We'll trade definitions.
00:18:58.500 Here's my definition of female. And this, in fact, is the dictionary's definition too. So I feel pretty
00:19:04.540 safe. Webster agrees with me on this. And in fact, actually every single biology textbook that's ever
00:19:09.180 been written ever agrees with me. And every anatomy textbook that's ever been written ever agrees
00:19:14.880 with me. Okay. So this is our definition. I'm just going to put it out there for you.
00:19:19.340 A female, a female human, let's be even more specific because that's what we're talking about here.
00:19:24.220 A female human is a person who bears two X chromosomes, has a vagina, and barring infirmity
00:19:33.780 or old age can bear offspring and produce eggs. That's my definition of a female person.
00:19:44.440 And according to that definition, those trans track athletes are not female. They're just,
00:19:51.500 they're just not. Okay. That's all not saying anything else about them. I'm just saying they're
00:19:57.920 not female. And, but the other people competing in, in, you know, in the girls sports or the girls
00:20:06.520 track teams and the girls that are filing laws, they are female. Okay. They are fit. They fit into the
00:20:13.240 definition that I have presented and the definition that every dictionary and every biology textbook and
00:20:19.280 every anatomy textbook anywhere, everywhere says. Um, so they fit into that definition.
00:20:24.460 These other, these trans individuals do not. And so that's why they shouldn't be in the same week.
00:20:33.060 So your turn, give me your definition and we'll take it. Maybe you're, here's the thing. I see you,
00:20:41.100 when it comes to this issue, you guys, you've never made any kind of argument ever. You never present
00:20:48.820 any argument. So all of the arguments are being made by people on my side. Who knows? Maybe we're
00:20:54.900 wrong. I mean, we could, I don't think we are. I mean, I'm, I'm pretty damn confident we're not
00:20:59.920 wrong, but, uh, maybe you have some kind of like brilliant argument that you can put forward that we
00:21:07.280 just don't know about. And it may, it may just blow my mind and make me rethink everything I think I know
00:21:12.940 about the world. Maybe you do. So just, if you do put it out there, but if you don't put it out there,
00:21:21.340 then I think I'm fair in assuming you have no arguments whatsoever. And all you have is emotions
00:21:26.700 and tears and whining and crying, which is why your position can be disregarded because it's irrelevant.
00:21:37.280 All right. So let's move on to, uh, headlines here. Number one, Washington post magazine ran a,
00:21:48.460 uh, lengthy story on Stacey Abrams over the weekend. And the title of that, of that story is
00:21:53.820 the power of Stacey Abrams. And this is not a joke. Here's the picture that's attached to that article.
00:21:59.520 That is Stacey Abrams wearing a cape. They actually put her in a cape. So this,
00:22:06.560 and the image, it looks like if, if Batman died and his secretary had to take over the superhero
00:22:13.240 duties, that's what this looks like. And here's an actual quote. Let me pull this up. Here's an
00:22:17.280 actual quote from the article. It says pandemonium and pandemonium ensues as she walks to the far left
00:22:26.020 of the stage. Like a runway supermodel stops on a dime, poses, tilts her head slightly and smiles.
00:22:34.900 Camera flashes explode. She next pivots and walks slowly to the center of the stage,
00:22:39.860 freezes there and repeats the pose. Again, the flashes explode. Abrams is summoning her inner actress
00:22:46.820 and she is both enjoying the moment and getting through it to get to the conversation.
00:22:51.480 She then pivots and walks to the far right of the stage. Same. Okay. That's, that's, that's the
00:22:58.180 article. Supermodel Stacey Abrams. Now this is not the first time the media has tried to manufacture
00:23:06.920 a political superstar. They obviously, they do it all the time. The most famous example would be Barack
00:23:11.040 Obama. Um, and that was a pretty successful example. Okay. They, they made him president for
00:23:16.880 eight years. A less successful example would be Beto O'Rourke. They, they tried their hardest with
00:23:21.280 him to make him into a superstar. They had to give that up. But the difference here is that Obama and
00:23:26.320 even O'Rourke, at least to some extent had some semblance of political talent and charisma. And so
00:23:33.740 there was something there, even with, um, you know, Obama, pretty good order, uh, O'Rourke, not as good,
00:23:42.640 but at least he has the whole punk rock thing that he did in his, in the nineties. And so he's got that
00:23:46.860 going on and he's got the furry thing. So that's kind of interesting. So there, there's, there's,
00:23:51.300 there's a little something there that you could try to build into this, uh, political sensation if
00:23:57.360 you want to, but Stacey Abrams, are you serious? There's, there's just nothing there. She's, she's an
00:24:05.060 extremely standard, extremely unimpressive, normal, average politician. In fact, failed politician.
00:24:12.580 She's just your average failed politician. Very little charisma or talent. Um, nothing special as
00:24:19.220 a public speaker. This is like if the right tried to, uh, you know, make Jeb Bush into a rock star.
00:24:28.680 It, it just, it, it doesn't work. And the attempts are becoming increasingly embarrassing,
00:24:35.260 but like I said, also hilarious. Okay. So Mashable, uh, number two has a video out
00:24:39.260 showcasing some new protective gear that they're hoping people will wear to protect themselves from
00:24:45.140 the coronavirus. And, uh, well, you let me know what you think. Take a look at this.
00:24:58.680 Honestly, I would rather be dead. I would rather, I would choose death over wearing that
00:25:19.160 for even five minutes of my life. Now tell me if this is kind of mean, but when I saw that video,
00:25:25.520 uh, I, I did have the thought that it would be kind of funny if somebody straps that helmet on,
00:25:30.680 right. And, uh, and they're feeling super safe and they're feeling impervious to, to, to any and
00:25:36.400 all threats that they might've come across. And, uh, they walk outside of their home and just really
00:25:41.920 confident step into the street, immediately get hit by a bus. That would be kind of funny.
00:25:48.100 I don't know if that's mean for me to, I, you know, I'd be really terrible for the family,
00:25:51.900 of course, but also a little funny, or maybe I'm just a bad person. I think, or, or it could be
00:25:58.560 that it's funny and I'm a bad person. That's, that's very probable as well. Number three,
00:26:02.560 Rebecca Brand is, uh, I'm not sure who she is exactly, but she recorded a video over the weekend
00:26:07.700 complaining about people not wearing masks. And, uh, now her name is no longer Rebecca Brand
00:26:13.380 anymore. It's, it's Karen. And not just, this is, this is not just Karen. This is the Karen.
00:26:19.020 This is the ultimate, this is like the, the boss Karen at the end of the game. Um, the quintessential
00:26:24.120 Karen. If anyone wants to know, if anyone's confused about the Karen meme and where that
00:26:28.420 comes from and what is it, Karen? Well, here it is right here.
00:26:32.260 Oh my God. Not one person with a mask on. Everybody is here and nobody. Yeah. Oh my God. That's what
00:26:38.680 I'm saying. Oh my God.
00:26:40.560 Look at all those people. There's like 20. What the heck? What are we doing to you people?
00:26:45.740 Hi, I'm Rebecca Brand and I'm flipping out because governor Newsom announced that this Friday,
00:26:51.120 we are no longer going to be on total lockdown. We're opening back up. I'm flipping out because
00:26:56.140 people haven't been wearing masks and this is going to be even more loosey goosey than ever before.
00:27:01.620 I think it's all going to go downhill from this point on.
00:27:04.980 Loosey goosey. It's, it's Lucy. Listen, all, listen up all you loose gooses, you loose geese.
00:27:11.680 Get your acts together. This is, of course, they're at the beach, you know, and that's why
00:27:18.300 people aren't wearing masks, Karen, because they're at the beach and they're outside in the sun
00:27:24.060 and the chance that they pass coronavirus on to anybody or contracted themselves is almost zero.
00:27:31.840 And so that's why they're not in masks at the beach. And that's why you don't need to be either.
00:27:36.360 And I don't even understand. I don't, how could you, how is it, why would you even go to the,
00:27:41.600 if you're going to wear a mask at the beach, why go in the first place? The whole, it's,
00:27:46.580 first of all, it's hot. I mean, imagine how hot it must be under that mask and you're getting sand in
00:27:52.460 it. And, you know, part of the whole thing of being at the beach is you can breathe in that fresh
00:27:58.740 sea air with the, with the, you know, the scent of the salt water. You get none of that.
00:28:03.060 You just get your own fumes back up your nostrils. What's the point of even going?
00:28:08.980 Well, I know what the point is for Karen there. The point is to, you know, virtue signal and to
00:28:13.080 show off how responsible she is while everybody else is being loosey goosey, as she says.
00:28:18.800 Number four, NASCAR started back up again, I think over a few days ago over the weekend,
00:28:24.260 which is great news, you know? And then you think about, so NASCAR started up,
00:28:29.500 there's, they're playing soccer again in, in some places in the world. And this just makes me
00:28:35.080 really excited for when sports get, get going again. I mean, real sports, you know, we got NASCAR
00:28:41.740 and soccer just makes me think I can't wait till the sports leagues actually start up again.
00:28:46.640 Number five, incredible report here in the daily wire. It says Democrat controlled New York has
00:28:50.860 reportedly admitted to knowingly undercounting the number of deaths suffered in nursing homes from
00:28:55.900 the coronavirus after the facilities were devastated by Democrat governor Andrew Cuomo's policy that
00:29:00.660 forced them to take patients who were infected with the virus. The Daily Caller News Foundation
00:29:08.000 reports, the department made a subtle change to its disclosure, disclosure, disclosures. I can't read.
00:29:16.720 To its disclosures beginning around May 3rd, according to its web archives,
00:29:20.080 the New York state department of health told the Daily Caller News Foundation, its disclosure now
00:29:26.760 only reports coronavirus deaths for long-term care patients that died while physically present at
00:29:33.500 their facility. In other words, New York's nursing home and adult care facility coronavirus death
00:29:38.260 tracker omits any individuals who contracted coronavirus while living at a long-term care
00:29:43.280 facility, but died in a hospital. So that's the way. Now I've commented on this before. You look across
00:29:49.240 the country and you see that nursing home deaths make up 40, 50, 60, 70, sometimes 80% or more
00:29:58.020 of the total deaths in that state. And then you look at New York and it's kind of strange because
00:30:05.200 there it's officially, it's like 20% or less. Even though they had the most deaths total by far of
00:30:14.280 any state and we know that they had this crazy policy of deliberately, forcibly introducing the
00:30:22.020 infection into nursing homes. Yet it's only what, 15, 20% of the deaths are nursing? That makes no
00:30:27.520 sense. And so I've been saying for weeks, there's something going on here and I think that number is
00:30:31.940 going to go up and here it is, reportedly. That they're saying, okay, it doesn't count as a nursing
00:30:37.940 home death if they died in the nursing home. So if somebody gets sick and is on their deathbed and
00:30:42.680 they're brought to a hospital for care and they die there, well, we're not going to call that a
00:30:47.360 nursing home fatality. When in reality, of course it is. So this is, and why are they doing that?
00:30:54.780 Well, because they're going to protect Andrew Cuomo because they realize that this is a massive,
00:30:59.320 massive scandal and easily one of the deadliest political scandals in American history.
00:31:05.260 Okay, let's move to your daily cancellation. And before we do, you know, I generally am not a big
00:31:16.100 fan of joy or happiness, as you've probably noticed. I like to keep my safe distance from
00:31:21.400 those things. Social distance, six feet at least from joy and happiness. But I do want to share
00:31:26.780 something joyous with you. The double Tumblr is back, but it's only available for our most exclusive

00:32:15.980 Finally, all access members also get the benefits of other membership tiers, including an ad-free

00:32:31.500 Walsh right now. That's dailywire.com slash subscribe. Okay. So for our daily cancellation,
00:32:37.420 we're going to be canceling the NFL. And this for me is a very solemn occasion because I'm a huge
00:32:43.360 football fan. I'm a huge NFL fan. I love everything about the NFL except for the NFL itself. That is the
00:32:49.320 organization, the bureaucracy. I hate that part, but everything else I like. So now I'm
00:32:55.040 canceling the organization and the bureaucratic part of it. The reason is this. Reading a report
00:33:02.640 now from NFL.com. It says, during his state of the league address three months ago at a Super Bowl
00:33:09.980 in Miami, Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledged a need to increase the opportunities for minorities
00:33:15.800 to become head coaches and general managers. He says, clearly we're not doing enough. We have to do
00:33:20.260 more, blah, blah, blah. And okay, get ready for this. Here's the idea. They came up with an idea
00:33:28.580 they proposed to incentivize teams to hire minority coaches and front office personnel like GMs and so
00:33:35.840 on. So, quote, the idea is to incentivize the hiring of minorities as head coaches or primary football
00:33:42.920 executives by rewarding teams with improved draft slots. And then it goes into details. It says,
00:33:50.520 if a team hires a minority head coach, that team in the draft preceding the coach's second season
00:33:56.120 would move up six spots where it's slotted to pick in the third round. A team would jump 10 spots under
00:34:02.440 the same scenario for hiring a person of color as its primary football executive. If a team were to fill
00:34:08.980 both positions with diverse candidates, diverse candidates in the same year, the club could jump
00:34:14.380 16 spots, six for the coach, 10 for the GM, and potentially move from the top of the third round
00:34:19.920 to the middle of the second. Okay. So that's the idea, basically. And it goes into more detail,
00:34:30.180 but that's, you get the general gist. So it would seem that affirmative action in the NFL,
00:34:35.600 much like its players, is on steroids. Because this is remarkable. This is the kind of thing that
00:34:42.900 I might have made up as a joke and proposed it in an article or something satirically.
00:34:49.420 This is Babylon Bee stuff right here. It really is. They want to actually bribe teams with draft
00:34:55.480 position if they hire a minority coach. And just so you know, if you don't follow football,
00:35:00.180 draft position, especially in the second and third round, is extremely valuable. So we're not
00:35:05.280 talking about seventh round flyers here. We're talking about, they want to rig the second round
00:35:09.960 of the NFL draft by giving picks to teams if they hire, quote, diverse candidates. And by diverse
00:35:17.000 candidates, of course, they mean black. Okay. They don't actually, they don't want diverse candidates.
00:35:22.140 That's not the point. There is one particular race that they're looking for. They don't want to put
00:35:28.120 it like that because it would sound insane and degrading and just absolutely weird. But that is
00:35:34.780 the point. So what are the problems here? Well, for one thing, it's completely contrary to the spirit
00:35:42.880 of athletic competition. Giving teams competitive advantages on the basis of, you know, this is to
00:35:50.740 destroy the whole point of sports. Sports are a meritocracy. That's what's so great about them.
00:35:57.460 That's why people like them. That's why they are usually a respite. They are an oasis from all the
00:36:06.240 craziness with the social engineering and the culture. You can go to sports and you just see
00:36:11.060 the best, may the best man win. That's it. Or may the best team win. Not may the most racially woke team
00:36:20.000 win. Once you start introducing that into it, it destroys the whole point of the endeavor in the
00:36:25.680 first place. And for another thing, this is demeaning and infantilizing to the people that
00:36:30.940 it's supposed to help. Because what you're doing here is you're creating suspicion, reasonable
00:36:37.680 suspicion, that any black coach or black GM who's hired from here on out was only hired because of
00:36:44.680 the reward that the team would get for hiring them. Which inevitably, that will be the case
00:36:49.420 for some of the black coaches and black GMs that are hired if this plan goes through.
00:36:54.840 But then there are going to be others that would have been hired anyway, just based on their merits,
00:36:59.380 based on their qualifications and their skill. But they also are going to be forever tainted by the
00:37:05.700 suspicion of racial favoritism. So it doesn't help them. And then of course, on the other hand,
00:37:12.240 this guarantees that some candidates, white candidates, will be passed up despite being
00:37:21.060 the most worthy and most qualified, based solely on their race. So it guarantees that based on their
00:37:27.000 race, there are going to be some candidates who are overlooked. It guarantees racial discrimination
00:37:32.840 in order to solve racial discrimination. So we're getting rid of potential theoretical racial
00:37:42.360 discrimination by replacing it with guaranteed racial discrimination. Great plan. Just wonderful plan.
00:37:51.560 And the last thing, if we're going down this route, why don't we incentivize teams to put
00:37:59.080 white cornerbacks on their rosters? There are zero white cornerbacks in the NFL right now,
00:38:06.920 as far as I know. Certainly there are none that start. So there are zero starting white corners in
00:38:14.160 the NFL. Not very many white running backs, a few. Not very many white wide receivers, a few.
00:38:21.140 Not very many white free safeties or linebackers or, well, not very many white players in general,
00:38:26.760 except at the quarterback, kicker, and offensive line positions. Those are the only places
00:38:30.960 where you typically are going to find white people. So why don't we give incentives for that?
00:38:37.860 Oh, right. Because this is not really about racial diversity at all. This is about racial dogmatism,
00:38:43.120 left-wing racial dogmatism to be specific. And that's what the NFL is considering.
00:38:47.720 Um, it's, you know, it hasn't passed, but if it does, it's just, it, it, I'm pretty cynical. And so
00:38:56.200 it's hard to surprise me, but, uh, this, this really does. And, uh, I think we have a couple emails
00:39:03.980 here, but I think we'll save those for tomorrow because there could be longer conversations.
00:39:07.120 So we'll leave it there. Thanks everybody for watching. Thanks for listening. Have a great
