Today on The Matt Walsh Show, after a summer of rioting spurred on by a handful of high-profile
00:00:04.940
police shootings, today I want to take a look at what we can actually learn from those cases.
00:00:10.060
They seem to provide a blueprint for how to avoid getting killed or maimed by the police.
00:00:15.700
And it's not as hard as you might think. Also, five headlines, including
00:00:18.080
a man peacefully protesting by defecating on Nancy Pelosi's driveway. It's not funny. We will
00:00:25.500
condemn it in no uncertain terms because it's not funny at all. And in our daily cancellation,
00:00:29.660
I will cancel Joe Biden for claiming that you'll die in a hurricane if Trump is reelected. All of
00:00:35.180
that on the way. But two notes just to start right at the top. First, if you watch this podcast on
00:00:40.000
YouTube, you should know on September 28th, it will be moving from the Daily Wire channel to be
00:00:45.360
available exclusively on my YouTube channel, youtube.com slash Matt Walsh. You can get the
00:00:50.680
link in the description below. I'm also making a lot of new content that you can only find on my
00:00:54.860
channel. So subscribe to my YouTube channel, youtube.com slash Matt Walsh. Very easy to find.
00:01:00.700
Ring the bell to make sure you never miss out on a new video. Go do that now. Well, after this,
00:01:05.040
go do it. Second, I want to tell you about LifeLock. You know, the truth is in life, you can't trust
00:01:10.200
anyone. Well, you can trust a few people, maybe friends and family, hopefully you can trust. But
00:01:14.760
on the internet, on the internet, you can't trust anyone. There are bad actors on the internet.
00:01:19.020
A lot of them can't even trust your own grandmother on the internet, especially if she died already and
00:01:24.400
she's contacting you. That's a big red flag. The FBI cyber division is warning that students and
00:01:29.820
families will be increasingly vulnerable to cyber attacks because of the current online learning
00:01:34.880
and all of the teleconference and everything, all of these different applications. Since the start of
00:01:39.400
the pandemic, there's been a 300% increase in cybercrime activity. Hackers are becoming more
00:01:44.100
sophisticated and taking advantage of teleconference accounts through which they are pawning
00:01:48.780
information like emails and passwords. You got to talk to your kids about protecting their
00:01:52.180
information. Kids are stupid. They do dumb things. Let's be honest. You've got to be able to protect
00:01:56.340
them. Also, it's important to understand, you know, how cybercrime and identity theft are affecting
00:02:02.740
our lives. Every day, we put our information at risk on the internet and cybercriminals, they keep
00:02:09.420
finding new ways to steal identities and you could miss certain identity threats if you're just monitoring
00:02:14.720
your credit. You know, if you're taking basic steps like that, which is good to do, but you need
00:02:20.200
LifeLock. LifeLock detects a wide range of identity threats like your social security number being for
00:02:25.140
sale on the dark web. If they detect your information, they're going to send you an alert and
00:02:30.240
listen, nobody can prevent all identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses, but you
00:02:35.100
can find out if your information is on the dark web. Get your free dark web scan at lifelock.com
00:02:40.520
slash scan. Pick the plan that's right for you. Save up to 25% off your first year with promo code
00:02:47.620

00:02:56.420
All right. Well, our summer of rioting has been, of course, ostensibly fueled by several specific
00:03:03.000
incidents in which black suspects died or were severely injured during an attempted arrest by police.
00:03:08.000
BLM and its allies have selected these cases and singled them out as a representative of a larger
00:03:15.560
systemic problem. And we're told that the men who were killed or injured, George Floyd, Rayshard
00:03:23.220
Brooks, Jacob Blake, Dion Kaye, Daniel Prude, Ricardo Munoz, most recent one, these were victims of police
00:03:30.720
brutality and they were targeted because of the color of their skin. But if we examine all of the cases
00:03:36.200
together, now that we have this sample size and we compare them objectively, we don't actually find
00:03:42.860
any evidence of racism nor any apparent connection to systemic problems in law enforcement. What we do
00:03:48.380
find is that all of the high profile, quote unquote, victims over the last several months made similar
00:03:54.640
choices and that their choices, not their skin color, can be directly linked to their deaths.
00:04:00.940
See, their cases provide, for those who need it, a reverse blueprint for how to avoid getting killed
00:04:08.340
by police. Simply do the opposite of what Floyd, Brooks, and company did and your chance of surviving
00:04:14.480
an encounter with police is very near 100%, regardless of your race. So let's review briefly.
00:04:20.680
Okay, George Floyd, violent felon, high on potentially lethal doses of fentanyl, tried to use counterfeit money,
00:04:26.220
resisted arrest, died of cardiac arrest while being restrained by police. Rayshard Brooks, lengthy
00:04:30.520
arrest record, passed out drunk behind the wheel of the car, resisted arrest, assaulted police,
00:04:35.060
stole officer's weapon, attempted to use it against them, shot and killed by police. Jacob Blake,
00:04:40.120
credibly accused rapist and serial abuser, allegedly, harassing his alleged rape victim, resisted
00:04:46.800
arrest, assaulted police, pulled a knife, reached into a car, was shot and injured by police. Dion K.,
00:04:52.720
known gang member, flashing guns and live streaming it on social media, fled from police, then ran
00:04:58.320
towards them with his gun drawn, shot and killed by police. Daniel Prude, 37 previous arrests, high
00:05:04.400
on PCP, running naked through the street, had a spit hood placed on his head because he was spitting
00:05:09.840
at officers after claiming to have had COVID, died several days later from complications of asphyxia,
00:05:15.700
according to the coroner report. Ricardo Munoz, most recently, previously charged with stabbing four
00:05:22.000
people in 2019. He was trying to break into his mother's house, charged at a police officer while
00:05:26.520
wielding a large knife, looked like a butcher's knife, shot and killed by police. Okay. There are
00:05:32.800
a number of obvious commonalities here. Every man on this list was a known or alleged criminal.
00:05:39.900
They were all allegedly in the process of committing a crime. Three were under the influence of some sort
00:05:45.880
of intoxicant. Three were in the process of trying to assault or kill police officers. Three were
00:05:51.560
armed. At least five of the six were resisting or evading arrest. It's claimed that Prude was not
00:05:57.360
resisting, but he was delirious and spitting. Whether or not that counts as resisting is up for
00:06:01.880
interpretation, I suppose. None of these men were just walking innocently down the street or sitting
00:06:07.600
on a park bench somewhere, minding their own business. None can be called law abiding. In none of
00:06:13.200
these cases, is there any apparent or apparent connection to or evidence of racism or racial
00:06:19.940
profiling? In all of these cases, police were called to the scene because of the actions taken
00:06:25.560
by the suspects, which had raised varying degrees of perfectly justified alarm among the public.
00:06:32.200
These cases, far from proving that there is an epidemic of police killing or brutalizing innocent
00:06:36.740
people, actually provide very strong evidence for the opposite conclusion. There is no such epidemic.
00:06:41.160
In fact, it would appear that a person has to make a series of very bad choices in order to
00:06:45.800
run any significant risk of a violent encounter with police. As I've previously demonstrated,
00:06:51.020
a wider view of the issue leads to the same conclusion. Take 2019. Throughout all of 2019,
00:06:56.960
police arrested around 10 million suspects. 70% were white. 30% were black. A total of 14 of the 3 million
00:07:06.400
black people arrested or rather killed during an arrest were unarmed. Only six of those cases
00:07:12.800
really count as unarmed when you read the details. Remember, again, this is out of 3 million arrests.
00:07:17.340
Only one, Titania Jefferson, was an entirely innocent person minding her own business,
00:07:22.540
gunned down by police randomly while sitting in her house. There's nothing she could have done
00:07:26.800
different, obviously. Fortunately, the police officer has been charged with murder. There was a similar
00:07:31.260
case in 2018 when Botham Jean was killed by an off-duty cop while he was sitting in his own
00:07:36.260
apartment. That officer went to prison. This year, there was Breonna Taylor. Though in that case,
00:07:41.200
she was killed in the crossfire when her boyfriend fired on police during a no-knock raid. It's not
00:07:47.380
exactly the same as the Jefferson and Jean cases. But even if you want to put it in the same category,
00:07:52.920
we're looking at about, what, one instance every year out of millions and millions of police
00:07:57.720
arrests and interactions? In the vast majority of police shootings, they are responding to lethal
00:08:04.140
aggression from the suspect. It would seem that the six high-profile cases from this summer are
00:08:11.040
pretty accurate representations of the larger trend, actually. BLM and their allies certainly
00:08:16.580
seem to think so, which is why they're rioting based on those cases. So then what can we learn
00:08:21.540
from them? How might a person who wants to avoid getting shot and or killed by police choose to
00:08:27.920
behave? What could all of these men have done differently? A blueprint emerges. If you want
00:08:34.340
to give yourself like a 99.99999% or even larger probably chance of not dying at the hands of police,
00:08:41.400
all you need to do is, one, avoid committing crimes. Two, if you're going to commit them,
00:08:47.800
avoid doing them while high on lethal doses of narcotics. Three, avoid assaulting police. Four,
00:08:54.600
avoid pulling weapons on police. Five, avoid resisting arrest. Now, it's safe to say that if
00:09:00.340
almost everyone that, you know, almost everyone in modern American history who has followed these
00:09:06.860
five steps has not died at the hands of police. They all have or will die of something else,
00:09:12.860
but police won't be the cause. If you follow these steps, the list of things that is more likely to
00:09:19.180
kill you, regardless of race, is extremely lengthy and includes things like lightning strikes, bear
00:09:24.600
attacks, meteors. This isn't to say that everyone who fails to follow steps one, two, and five
00:09:29.580
deserves to be killed by cops. I mean, even those who fail to follow three and four, avoid assaulting
00:09:35.200
police, avoid pulling weapons on police, they don't necessarily deserve it because deserve is not a
00:09:40.300
relevant word here. The police officer who shot Ricardo Munoz wasn't trying to give Munoz what
00:09:46.780
he deserves. He was simply trying to neutralize an imminent threat to his own life. So this isn't
00:09:51.980
about deserve, but it is about consequences. Actions have consequences. A very likely consequence of
00:09:59.040
pulling a weapon on a police officer is that you get shot. Getting shot by a cop is not a statistically
00:10:04.480
likely consequence of committing a crime in the first place. I mean, most people who commit crimes don't
00:10:08.620
get shot, but your chances of that happening are now, as a consequence, higher than they would have
00:10:14.100
been had you committed no crime at all. With each bad choice, the consequences pile up and the
00:10:22.640
likelihood of a disastrous outcome is heightened. So when you go through steps one through five there,
00:10:30.280
if you do the opposite, rather than avoiding the committing crime, committing the crime you
00:10:35.060
committed, rather than avoiding, you know, resisting arrest, you resist arrest. As you do, as you make
00:10:39.980
each of those mistakes, as I should say, as you make each of those choices, the likelihood of a
00:10:46.820
disastrous cataclysmic outcome, a fatal outcome for yourself is heightened. You're just adding to the list
00:10:54.020
as you go down. You do none of those things. If you actually follow the steps, you avoid doing all of
00:10:59.980
that. Almost certainly for everyone in America, almost certainly 99.9999% if not more, your chances
00:11:10.740
are you'll be fine. You won't be killed by the cops. Now, even if you think that there's an epidemic of
00:11:18.660
racist police out hunting and murdering people, which there isn't, but even if you think that's the
00:11:23.200
case, this should still be your message. This isn't BLM. This isn't their message. They don't want to talk
00:11:29.640
about this, but if you actually value people's lives and you want to save lives, then this should
00:11:36.200
still be your message, where you should still be saying, listen, if you're getting arrested,
00:11:40.860
resisting arrest, fighting the cop, whether or not cops are a bunch of racist murderers, even if they
00:11:46.600
are racist murderers, even more, don't fight them. But one way or another, regardless, nothing good can
00:11:53.960
come of that for you at all. There are zero good outcomes for you, period. Best case scenario,
00:12:02.140
you survive the encounter, but you just are going to go to jail for longer now because you assaulted
00:12:05.940
a police officer. Worst case scenario, you die. In between scenario, you're Jacob Blake, paralyzed in
00:12:14.060
a hospital, and he's still probably going to go to jail, as well he should if he committed the horrible
00:12:18.420
crimes he's accused of committing. So this should be the, anyone who really cares about lives, black
00:12:24.720
lives, white lives, any lives, this would be the message. Follow these steps and police, and no harm
00:12:34.060
will come to you from police, almost certainly. Let's get to our five headlines.
00:12:38.380
You know, time is money, as they say, and if you're waiting around at an auto parts store,
00:12:48.640
or you're going to a mechanic or something, waiting for your car to be fixed, you're not being
00:12:52.320
responsible with your time. I mean, that's time that you could be using, forget about responsibility.
00:12:56.860
You could be just enjoying yourself. Nobody wants to be waiting around at an auto parts store. So go
00:13:01.440
to rockauto.com. It's so much easier than walking into a store, having a bunch of questions. I got to
00:13:06.280
look it up online. You got access to rockauto.com at your desk. You got it in your pocket. So just
00:13:11.280
go rockauto.com. You know, they always got the lowest prices available, rather than changing
00:13:15.380
prices based on what the market will bear. Rockauto.com, family business. They've been doing
00:13:19.600
this for a long time, serving auto parts customers online for 20 years. You can go to rockauto.com.
00:13:24.840
You can shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers. Best of all, prices at rockauto.com
00:13:29.200
are reliably low, and they're the same. Whether you're a professional, do-it-yourselfer,
00:13:33.440
why spend up twice as much for the same parts? Why spend twice as much for the same parts if you
00:13:40.060
can find them? You're really spending twice as much for a smaller selection when you go to the
00:13:44.020
auto parts store. The rockauto.com catalog is unique, easy to navigate, extremely extensive,
00:13:49.720
everything you could possibly want. Amazing selection, reliably low prices. Go to rockauto.com
00:13:54.320
right now. See all the parts available for your car or truck. Write Walsh in there. How did you hear
00:13:58.040
about us box so that they know that we sent you? Okay, Andrew Gillum, a one-time up-and-coming
00:14:04.440
Democratic star who was then found passed out high on meth with a male prostitute in a hotel room,
00:14:09.820
which, come to think of it, really probably won't hurt his stock at all in the Democratic Party. But
00:14:13.660
anyway, he has big news to share. In a brave moment, he came out as bisexual. Watch.
00:14:19.820
To be very honest with you, when you didn't ask the question, you put it out there, is whether or
00:14:26.540
not I identify as gay. And the answer is, I don't identify as gay, but I do identify as bisexual.
00:14:32.960
And that is something that I have never shared publicly before. Well, okay, I'm sure his wife
00:14:38.540
and children will be okay now. Very proud, I'm sure, once they hear that. They'll understand.
00:14:43.800
You know, I have to say, admittedly, I'm not much of a gay rights activist, just to be totally honest.
00:14:53.380
It's probably not what anyone would label me. But if I was a gay rights activist, I'd be pretty tired
00:15:00.080
of seeing guys like Gillum, Spacey, come out of the closet as a way to excuse their scumbag behavior.
00:15:05.900
I don't think I'd like that very much, but that's Gillum's strategy. Will it pay off? Will it work?
00:15:11.900
It's the Democrat Party in the year 2020. So I'm going to guess yes. Number two, you heard about
00:15:17.100
what happened after those two LA deputies were shot in the assassination attempt. And then the BLMers
00:15:25.400
showed up at the hospital and were chanting, I hope they die. Not just that. In fact, they showed up at
00:15:30.960
the hospital. They were also on the scene, as we played the video yesterday, there were some people
00:15:34.960
on the scene who saw it happen. And as the police officers were bleeding in the street, they were
00:15:40.240
laughing and cheering. Just absolute soulless scumbags. One activist, at least, wasn't having
00:15:49.560
any of that. And here he is at the hospital yesterday. Watch.
00:15:53.740
Damn, the shooting of both deputies in the strongest terms. The activists who were here protesting
00:16:02.360
outside the emergency room, saying and chanting, we hope they die, we hope they die, we hope they die.
00:16:10.820
We're here to say, we hope they live. We hope they live. We hope they live. Because those activists,
00:16:16.880
they don't represent our community, our movement, our struggle for justice. They represent the worst
00:16:22.580
in humanity. They are an embarrassment, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Because at the end of
00:16:28.360
the day, we're all human beings. You know, the amazing thing is, the Democrat Party
00:16:32.800
has to choose between that guy and his message, and essentially, and the BLM activists who are at
00:16:45.300
the hospital chanting, I hope he dies. Like, they, probably, both are Democrat constituencies.
00:16:51.820
So they have to choose which of those groups are they going to try to satisfy and pander to.
00:16:58.360
And they chose the, I hope you die group. That's, that's who they're going with. Not that guy.
00:17:03.800
The guy you just heard there, there's a decent man. Probably disagree with him politically,
00:17:07.960
but there's a decent human being. They said, no, we don't, we're not interested in him.
00:17:13.240
He's, as far as, as far as Democrats are concerned these days, just by saying that,
00:17:16.560
by simply standing up and saying, I don't want police officers to, police officers to die.
00:17:20.500
That's radical right-wing rhetoric at this point. And you think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not.
00:17:25.040
That's really how they see it. Number three, here's an important report from the Daily Wire.
00:17:34.160
defecating on the driveway of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as a peaceful protest.
00:17:40.720
In the footage taken on Saturday, the man who identifies himself as Armando, or Mondo,
00:17:45.460
is seen walking the streets of San Francisco in search of the Democrat's house.
00:17:49.140
Once there, he sets up a camera across the street and walks to a driveway, salutes his viewers,
00:17:53.760
drops his pants, and then drops something else.
00:17:57.880
The 28-year-old said he's part of a niche YouTube community that creates IRL, or in-real-life
00:18:04.140
live-stream videos, chronicling long stretches of unfiltered daily life.
00:18:07.520
And so this is what he decided to do in his unfiltered daily life.
00:18:13.840
I just, look, we have to condemn that sort of behavior unequivocally.
00:18:19.220
I do not endorse people going to Nancy Pelosi's house and defecating on her driveway.
00:18:26.420
I just want to stay that. I do not find it funny at all.
00:18:29.480
But then again, it is San Francisco, and that's just, you're fitting in with the local culture
00:18:40.100
Number four, the New York Post reports the Macy's Day Parade is canceled.
00:18:47.220
It says, the coronavirus has killed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade through Manhattan this
00:18:52.280
year. Instead, the famous retail store will stage a televised-only event.
00:18:56.220
By the way, the coronavirus didn't kill the Macy's Day Parade. Bill de Blasio did.
00:19:00.420
There's no reason why you can't have the parade just because of coronavirus, especially when
00:19:05.100
we've had BLM protests and riots in the city, you know, for months now.
00:19:11.120
But it says, instead, the famous retail store will stage a televised-only event in Herald
00:19:15.400
Square, filming over two days. The number of participants, including performers and workers,
00:19:20.560
is being cut to around 25%. There will still be the event's famous massive balloons,
00:19:25.540
although watching their popular inflation on the Upper West Side is a no-go this year.
00:19:29.820
Okay, so there's not going to be any live event. There's not going to be a crowd.
00:19:38.560
There will be balloons. So what are the balloons going to do? So they're just going to come on
00:19:43.400
to like Skype or something and say, oh, here's our balloon. Check it out. Nice balloon, huh?
00:19:47.820
Let's see. Will it be a parade down the street that nobody is there to see? Just a lonely parade
00:19:57.640
with a few people walking down and empty. It would look like a parade during the zombie apocalypse.
00:20:03.000
No one under 18 will be allowed to participate, nor will there be any performances by high school
00:20:07.820
and college marching bands. Only locally-based professional marching and musical ensembles will
00:20:12.800
perform. To no audience. This sounds appropriately depressing. Number five, Fox News reports that
00:20:22.200
Reese's will soon release something you can see right here. Big cups with potato chips.
00:20:30.140
They will be Reese's peanut butter cups stuffed with potato chips. An abomination, an offense to God.
00:20:37.920
God. This is the kind of thing that people would get smote in the Old Testament for this kind of
00:20:46.800
thing. Smoten, smited. Of course, if God was going to pick up the old smiting stick today, I'd prefer
00:20:54.000
if he started somewhere else, if he was going to start smiting. But eventually, we'd have to get to
00:20:57.660
this because this is really an abomination. But let's also be honest that Reese's cups are overrated
00:21:03.260
in general. So there's not any big loss here. It's fake peanut butter. And they're generally
00:21:10.860
probably the most overrated candy. This only will just make it worse. We're going to get to our daily

00:22:10.320
the Daily Wire on your Apple TV and Roku today. Let's get to our daily cancellation. Today we're
00:22:15.720
going to cancel Joe Biden. Oddly enough, I think this might be old Joe's first cancellation. I could
00:22:21.060
be wrong. And he certainly earned it. He enters the canceled list with a bang. Listen to this.
00:22:27.320
Donald Trump's climate denial may not have caused these fires and record floods and record
00:22:36.580
hurricanes. But if he gets a second term, these hellish events will continue to become more
00:22:42.740
common, more devastating, and more deadly. And meanwhile, Donald Trump warns that integration
00:22:50.380
is threatening our suburbs. It's ridiculous. But you know what is actually threatening our
00:22:57.100
suburbs? Wildfires are burning the suburbs in the West. Floods are wiping out suburban
00:23:03.440
neighborhoods in the Midwest. Hurricanes are imperiling suburban life along our coast.
00:23:10.660
If we have four more years of Trump's climate denial, how many suburbs will be burned in wildfires?
00:23:17.400
How many suburban neighborhoods will have been flooded out? How many suburbs will have been blown
00:23:23.300
away in super storms? If you give a climate arsonist four more years in the White House, why would
00:23:33.080
anyone be surprised if we have more America ablaze? If you give a climate denier four more years in
00:23:39.760
the White House, why would anyone be surprised when more of America is underwater?
00:23:44.400
We need a president who respects science, who understands that the damage from climate change
00:23:52.460
is already here. Unless we take urgent action, we'll soon be more catastrophic.
00:24:00.340
Okay, so much to cover here. I don't know where to begin. First of all, his sound modulation is way
00:24:05.040
off. He goes from whispering to shouting, then whispering again randomly. He's like, climate change is a huge
00:24:10.800
problem. Donald Trump isn't doing anywhere, anything to address it. Meanwhile, hurricanes are ravaging
00:24:16.920
the country and wildfires are destroying our homes. It's very disconcerting, and I guess it's supposed to
00:24:23.400
be. Second point, what have we really got here? Climate arsonist and climate denier. I have no idea what
00:24:33.620
climate arsonist means. I really don't. Trump is setting the climate on fire? How would a person do,
00:24:39.280
what is he, a volcano? And climate denier is at least a more familiar label, but it's no less stupid.
00:24:45.960
Climate denier. Who is denying the climate? We all agree the climate exists. I don't think anyone is
00:24:52.080
walking around saying, climate? Yeah, right. Never heard of it. You're talking about climate. We all
00:24:58.140
agree there's a climate. In fact, we all believe there's a climate and it's changing. So there's no
00:25:02.400
climate deniers. There's no climate change deniers. The question is just what things are causing the
00:25:07.640
change and to what degree those things are causing it. That's really the only thing we're talking
00:25:13.760
about. Third, Biden claims that he's not accusing Trump of causing hurricanes and wildfires, but then
00:25:19.320
he proceeds to do exactly that. In fact, he directly blames Trump for the weather. He says that if we
00:25:25.260
have four more years of Trump, there will be more storms and fires than there otherwise would have
00:25:29.680
been. Now, even if you accept the idea that humans are contributing to climate change to some
00:25:34.400
extent, the idea that the effect is that drastic and that immediate is preposterous. The idea that
00:25:41.800
you could trace a hurricane directly back to the individual action of a particular person on earth
00:25:47.360
currently is, well, superstitious is what it is. That's the best word for it. If Biden really believes
00:25:53.880
this, which he doesn't, but many of his constituents do, but if Biden really believes it or whoever believes
00:25:58.600
this is primitive and superstitious on the level of, you know, ancient people who thought that
00:26:06.720
tornadoes are caused by witches farting or whatever they believed. We are a couple years away from these
00:26:13.660
people sacrificing goats on altars made of human skulls to try to stop earthquakes. Human civilization
00:26:20.800
is going full circle right back into ancient paganism. We cannot emphasize strongly enough just how crazy
00:26:26.960
this is. We're used to hearing the left sort of vaguely blame conservatives for the weather, but this is
00:26:33.740
worse than that. This is blaming a particular politician for having personally caused the weather or for at
00:26:40.920
least having failed to stop it. This is no crazier than if I was planning to have a cookout and I walked
00:26:48.400
outside of my house with you and it was raining and I turned to you and said, you bastard, you know I was going to have a
00:26:53.860
cookout today? And you go, what dude? I didn't, I didn't, it's the rain. I didn't cause it. Well, you didn't
00:26:58.540
stop it either, did you? Now, where is this lunacy coming from? Well, it's obviously political. It's
00:27:05.460
fear-mongering. For all the grief that Trump gets for fear-mongering, what you just heard there from
00:27:10.380
Biden is I think possibly the most hysterical and insane fear-mongering we've ever heard from a
00:27:16.300
mainstream presidential candidate. I think it might take the cake. I don't think there could be a more
00:27:21.240
extreme example. He, he sounded like a preacher warning about the end times, except that he was
00:27:26.640
just talking about what would happen if his opponent is in office for another few years. So it's political
00:27:31.100
of course, but I think also to the extent again that these people actually believe this stuff,
00:27:36.040
part of it comes from fear. And I don't mean just fear that we're all going to drown when the ice
00:27:41.460
caps melt. I mean the special sort of terror that comes from a recognition of just how vast and powerful
00:27:48.440
cosmic forces are and how puny and impotent and vulnerable we are in the face of them.
00:27:54.920
So it's kind of reassuring in a certain way to think that we can actually do something about
00:27:59.780
hurricanes. To think that we can put in place some kind of five-step plan, follow, you know,
00:28:04.040
steps one, two, three, four, five, and we'll achieve a whatever arbitrary percentage decrease in
00:28:08.480
hurricane ferocity. That's reassuring. It makes us feel less helpless, less at the mercy of nature.
00:28:14.680
But of course, no matter what we tell ourselves, we are still at nature's mercy, whether we like it
00:28:20.280
or not. Our weather and climate is largely driven by that 860,000 mile wide, 10,000 degree, two
00:28:27.200
octillion ton ball of hellfire hanging out in the sky up there. She is ultimately to blame for the
00:28:32.840
hurricanes and for every other weather pattern. So you got a problem with it, you could take it up
00:28:38.320
with her. Not Donald Trump. I know they're both orange, but sorry, I had to do it. I had to throw
00:28:46.380
the orange thing in there. You can cancel me for that as well. But Joe Biden for, honestly, I know
00:28:53.620
it's saying a lot, but that's one of the craziest things. What you just heard there really is one of
00:28:59.760
the craziest things I think we have ever heard from a presidential candidate, period. So he's got to be
00:29:05.680
canceled for that. And what makes it all the more disturbing is that although it's one of the
00:29:09.680
craziest things, it's not so bad to have presidential candidates saying crazy things, right? It could even
00:29:16.260
be enjoyable. It sort of, it keeps things fun and interesting and entertaining at least. What makes
00:29:21.360
it not so entertaining and a lot more terrifying is that over half the country doesn't even recognize
00:29:27.780
that as crazy. They hear that and they nod along like, yeah, you know what? Donald Trump does
00:29:33.760
cause the weather. He's right. So Biden is canceled. They're all canceled. Everyone's
00:29:39.240
canceled. We'll leave it there for today. Have a great day, everybody. Godspeed.
