00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, a major science publication endorses Joe Biden, hails him as
00:00:04.420 the most pro-science candidate in the race. Of course, the Democrat Party has for years called
00:00:08.400 itself the Party of Science, but does it deserve that label? I would say no, not remotely. We'll
00:00:13.260 talk about why. Also, five headlines, including President Trump's historic peace deal and the
00:00:17.100 heroic female police officer who was shot in that assassination attempt over the weekend has been
00:00:21.440 identified. Oddly, the media not very interested in her story. And in our daily cancellation,
00:00:25.860 I will cancel the cowardly pastor who apologized to his congregation when his associate pastor
00:00:31.840 criticized BLM during a homily. It was a great homily. Of course, I got a criticism from the
00:00:36.420 pastor. We'll talk about that also today on the show. But we start here. The Scientific American
00:00:41.020 came out this week with its first presidential endorsement in 175 years, urging its readers to
00:00:45.300 vote for Joe Biden. Donald Trump claims the publication rejects evidence and science,
00:00:51.160 whereas Biden allegedly has a record of following the data and being guided by science.
00:00:56.740 Now, on the heels of this announcement, Joe Biden's wife, Jill Biden, tweeted hashtag vote
00:01:01.720 for science. Then Governor Andrew Cuomo wrote simply science knows. Not sure what that means
00:01:07.680 exactly or what Cuomo thinks science knows. Hope for his sake that it doesn't know about the
00:01:11.380 thousands of nursing home patients he killed. In any case, many others on the left and in the media
00:01:16.000 chimed in hailing Biden as science's guardian and protector and themselves as its greatest fans.
00:01:22.360 Now, Biden is glad to play this role. Speaking in Wilmington on Monday, as we discussed on the show
00:01:26.180 yesterday, the former vice president spoke about the need to govern according to science.
00:01:31.060 He also said this just to refresh your memory.
00:01:34.080 Donald Trump's climate denial may not have caused these fires and record floods and record hurricanes,
00:01:43.140 but if he gets a second term, these hellish events will continue to become more common,
00:01:49.440 more devastating and more deadly. Meanwhile, Donald Trump warns that integration is threatening our
00:01:57.360 suburbs. It's ridiculous. But you know what is actually threatening our suburbs?
00:02:04.840 Wildfires are burning the suburbs in the West. Floods are wiping out suburban neighborhoods in the
00:02:10.200 Midwest. Hurricanes are imperiling suburban life along our coast.
00:02:16.500 If we have four more years of Trump's climate denial, how many suburbs will be burned
00:02:21.860 in wildfires? How many suburban neighborhoods will have been flooded out?
00:02:27.340 How many suburbs will have been blown away
00:02:29.800 in superstorms?
00:02:31.800 If you give a climate arsonist four more years in the White House,
00:02:38.100 why would anyone be surprised if we have more America ablaze?
00:02:43.100 If you give a climate denier four more years in the White House,
00:02:46.440 why would anyone be surprised when more of America is underwater?
00:02:50.360 We need a president who respects science, who understands that the damage from climate change
00:02:58.400 is already here. Unless we take urgent action, we'll soon be more catastrophic.
00:03:06.200 Joe Biden, patron saint of science, apparently believes that there is some sort of physical
00:03:10.980 mechanism by which the president of the United States can actually cause hurricanes to materialize
00:03:16.380 and floodwaters to rise. Now, he's not talking about humans merely contributing
00:03:20.880 in some partial way to gradual changes in climate over the course of many decades.
00:03:25.700 He's suggesting that one single human on Earth today can, through his own exertions,
00:03:30.240 have a material impact on global weather conditions. So when Biden and his supporters speak of science,
00:03:37.200 this is what they mean. But at least Biden's theory of climate change is slightly less crazy
00:03:42.560 than crazy Nancy Pelosi's, who recently speculated that wildfires happen because Mother Earth is angry.
00:03:49.740 She is telling us the climate crisis is real. We'll play that again, too, just to just so we can
00:03:54.780 relive it. Here it is. We have these fires in California and in the West of 16 people have died
00:04:02.440 in Washington, Oregon and California, including a firefighter and a one year old baby.
00:04:08.100 Our firefighters have been so very, very courageous. Now we're again breaking records. Mother Earth
00:04:15.180 is angry. She's telling us whether she's telling us with hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, fires in the
00:04:21.680 West, whatever it is, that the climate crisis is real and has an impact. So the idea that natural
00:04:28.280 disasters are the result of a displeased Earth goddess may have passed for science among ancient
00:04:33.540 tribes in the year 6000 BC, but it's a bit outmoded in the modern age. Yet this again is what we get
00:04:39.420 from the party of science. Party of science also tells us that the child conceived by two human
00:04:45.320 beings and developing in the womb of his mother is not fully human or not fully person or not fully
00:04:51.060 alive. They can't really make up their mind. As an MSNBC anchor once put it, the answer to when life
00:04:55.980 begins, quote, depends an awful lot on the feelings of the parents. These same custodians and
00:05:01.820 conservators of science say that a male can have a functioning female reproductive system,
00:05:07.020 a female can have a penis and a Y chromosome, or perhaps say the science lovers, a person may have
00:05:12.620 no gender at all. They may be gender fluid, possessing no discernible form, just lumps of
00:05:18.460 ambiguous beings slithering aimlessly over the Earth. Once again, science. Now I have personally
00:05:25.260 asked, as I mentioned before, I've asked two prominent leftists with doctorates, one a medical doctor,
00:05:30.640 the other a supposed internationally recognized expert on sexuality, to define the words man and
00:05:36.300 woman. And neither of these left-wing science experts with PhDs could do it. Dr. Eugene Gu told
00:05:42.580 me that a man can be identified as anyone who identifies as a man. And Dr. Logan Levkoff insisted
00:05:49.480 that a woman is, quote, anything she wants to be. Now the latter answer might make a good inspirational
00:05:55.660 slogan for a guidance counselor's bulletin board, but it is not science. Perhaps the situation can
00:06:01.480 be maybe summarized this way. The side of the political aisle that talks the most about science
00:06:06.960 and most trumpets its own commitment to the methods of science also believes that it's possible that a
00:06:13.700 man who is pregnant with a non-human fetus might die in a hurricane caused by the president. That's all
00:06:20.900 that needs to be said to establish that the party of science has rather failed to live up to its assumed
00:06:25.880 name. And this should be no surprise. I mean, how could a worldview that is so committed to
00:06:30.640 relativism have any real commitment to science? Science, after all, is the study of what is.
00:06:35.600 It's the struggle to understand reality on its own terms. To think scientifically about objective
00:06:40.380 reality, you must first admit that there is such a thing and that its rules and laws cannot be changed
00:06:46.140 for your sake and that you are, at least in strictly physical terms, but a speck of dust on a slightly
00:06:50.820 bigger speck of dust hurtling through the abyss. Face reality and accept your real place in it. That
00:06:56.800 must be the starting point for any scientific inquiry. That's not something that the modern left
00:07:02.500 can or will do. It claims that reality is bendable and mutable according to the will of the individual
00:07:07.560 and that any difficult facts about the world or ourselves can be simply wished away. That's the
00:07:13.720 opposite of science. And when enough people adopt that way of thinking, the leftist way of thinking,
00:07:19.000 it is the death of science. This mentality has seeped into our scientific institutions.
00:07:25.400 So-called scientists and doctors coming out now saying that white supremacy is a public health
00:07:31.340 crisis. There's no justification for this. There's no evidence. It's not science, but they want it to be
00:07:36.920 true. So they say that it is. Meanwhile, psychologists and doctors have legitimized the idea that a young boy
00:07:42.920 can have a girl stuck in his body in some mysterious dualistic way, and that the best way to treat this
00:07:49.380 condition is to give him hormone pills. This is dogma, belief, faith, superstition, voodoo. It is many
00:07:56.500 things. Science is not on the list, though. You know what else is part of science? Skepticism.
00:08:03.280 If you care about science, if you believe science, if you trust and follow science, if you think science
00:08:08.940 knows, whatever that means, then you're a skeptic and you respect and welcome skepticism. That doesn't
00:08:14.740 mean you have to be agnostic about everything. It just means that you ask questions. You think
00:08:19.980 critically. You don't accept anything as fact based solely on the insistence of some other person.
00:08:26.380 If somebody makes a claim, you're likely to respond, oh, why do you think that? Or how do you know? Or
00:08:32.360 even better, why should I believe that? That's skepticism. It's healthy. It's necessary. Science
00:08:39.300 cannot exist without it. But skepticism, too, in our culture is rejected, shouted down. Skeptics are
00:08:44.620 burned at the stake, metaphorically. Perhaps soon, not so metaphorically. Take the issue with masks,
00:08:49.760 for example. A skeptic says, oh, well, what's the science behind this? Are we sure that it works?
00:08:56.220 Are we sure it's not doing more harm than good? How sure are we? Why are we sure if we're sure at all?
00:09:01.760 What's the evidence? These are valid questions, intelligent questions, skeptical questions,
00:09:06.940 scientific questions. But the alleged lovers of science will pelt you with rocks if you so much
00:09:11.900 as whisper them. So many of the people who say they love science actually hate it and are extremely
00:09:18.960 antagonistic towards it. Democrats are not the party of science and the left are not the champions
00:09:24.640 of science. And our culture, so far as it is driven by these forces, is not one that is friendly to
00:09:29.280 science or truth, for that matter, in any other form. Let's get to our five headlines.
00:09:41.180 You know, these days, it's really important to find companies that support our values. It's one
00:09:47.440 thing, you know, you're looking for products and services that you want and that are right for you,
00:09:51.800 for your family. But the other problem is that we run into as conservatives is that so often you end up
00:09:56.600 supporting companies that don't support you and that are actively working against you in the
00:10:00.620 culture. And that's something we struggle with, I think, as conservatives all the time. Here's a
00:10:05.320 solution to that problem, at least in one area. The pro-life phone company, Charity Mobile. You got to
00:10:10.200 support this company because they support us. They support what we believe in. If you go with
00:10:15.360 Charity Mobile, 5% of your monthly plan price goes to the pro-life, pro-family charity of your choice.
00:10:21.420 The great thing is new activations, eligible accounts. Also get a free cell phone with a free
00:10:25.440 activation and free shipping. Credit check required on that. But so you're getting, you're supporting a
00:10:31.720 cause that you believe in, the most, really the most important cause in the culture, which is a pro-life
00:10:36.080 cause. But you're also getting a great service as well. No contracts, no termination fees, no risk with a
00:10:41.820 30-day guarantee. Also, you get live customer service and it's based right here in the USA. And you get all
00:10:48.580 kinds of other frills that go with it. You can block use of cellular data, picture messages,
00:10:53.720 text messages on any lines on your account. You get free usage alerts. You get a free app to monitor
00:10:59.260 your usage. You could, so you could pay your bill. And, and, you know, I think most importantly of all,
00:11:05.160 though, you can help build a culture of life in America while supporting a pro-life company.
00:11:10.560 This means that you can turn every day into sort of effortless giving for the charity of your choice.
00:11:16.600 It's America's largest and most reliable 4G LTE network. You also get with, with, with Charity
00:11:23.420 Mobile. I've been using Charity Mobile for several months now, and it just feels good to know that
00:11:28.500 I've got a great service, but I'm also supporting the cause that I believe in most of all, which is
00:11:34.560 the pro-life cause. You can call Charity Mobile at 1-877-474-3662 or chat with them online at
00:11:41.160 charitymobile.com. All right, let's get to our five headlines. And I don't have this
00:11:46.580 actually written down as a headline, but I saw it right before we started here that Cardi B is
00:11:53.840 getting divorced. So a very sad development. I feel like that should be the number one. Cardi B was
00:11:57.780 married to a gentleman named Offset. I don't know if that was his Christian name. Greatest romance of
00:12:02.700 our time, Cardi B and Offset. And they are getting divorced. You know, who would have ever thought that
00:12:07.140 rolling around on the floor naked and singing about your WAP may not be the healthiest thing
00:12:12.100 for your marriage. I, I, I didn't see, I could, I couldn't, I never could have seen that coming,
00:12:16.360 but all of our hearts are breaking today. Um, all right. Anyway, let's get to the real headlines.
00:12:20.160 Reading from Fox news says on Tuesday, President Trump was joined by Israeli president, uh,
00:12:25.440 Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE foreign minister, Abdullah bin Zaid al-Naihan and Bahrain foreign minister
00:12:31.920 Khalid bin Ahmed al-Khalif. There we go. To sign the Abraham Accords, something the president
00:12:36.780 hailed as the dawn of a new Middle East. However, says Fox, CNN's coverage of the event
00:12:41.420 was less focused on the groundbreaking peace agreement and instead shamed the White House
00:12:45.420 for holding such an event amid a pandemic. During the network's 3 p.m. program, CNN anchor
00:12:51.020 Brooke Baldwin accused the president of denying the science, there we go, of coronavirus, citing
00:12:56.400 the over 195,000 deaths. Um, she later negatively emphasized the hundreds of people that attended
00:13:01.780 the outdoor White House event and knocked the president for holding a packed indoor event.
00:13:06.780 In Arizona. Okay. So there you go. Of course, CNN has to, you know, find something else to focus
00:13:11.420 on. You got a historic peace deal. This is what they're, this is what they've got. They're going
00:13:15.020 with because they're pathetic frauds. But I will say putting, putting CNN to the side on this peace
00:13:21.120 agreement, I've criticized Trump plenty, uh, and with no regret, no regrets about that. But the man has
00:13:28.660 been, I think pretty easily, uh, the best foreign policy president in decades at least. And I'd give
00:13:37.220 him that title just simply based on the fact that he hasn't started any new wars. And it's sort of sad
00:13:42.780 that that's where the bar is right now. Don't start a new war and you're the best foreign policy president
00:13:47.760 in a generation. But, but, uh, that, that is where it is. And now you add this on top of it. And I think
00:13:52.540 easily he wins as best foreign policy president, uh, in, in decades in my lifetime, really number two
00:13:58.920 on the, uh, one of the sheriff's deputies who was shot in that assassination attempt in Los Angeles
00:14:04.200 over the weekend has been identified. Uh, her name is Claudia Apollinar, 31 years old. Mother was a
00:14:11.220 librarian before becoming a cop. And she's currently still in the hospital under guard for her own
00:14:16.580 safety. Of course, expected to recover. Thankfully. Now this is a pretty remarkable story. You got a
00:14:23.260 young woman, young mother decides to leave her job as a librarian gets into law enforcement, not but a
00:14:28.940 year, maybe a little bit over a year into becoming a deputy. She's shot in the face and the torso
00:14:34.600 multiple times. And what does she do? You know, there's the video of this with a, with a bullet wound in
00:14:39.860 her face, bleeding profusely, hardly able to speak, presumably in intense, unimaginable pain.
00:14:48.840 She helps her partner apply a tourniquet. You know, for all she knows, she's moments away from death.
00:14:54.880 And what is she doing? She's, she's caring for her partner. This is real heroism. I mean,
00:14:59.580 this is a bad-ass woman right here. This is what that is. So why isn't the left champion,
00:15:05.680 championing her? Why aren't they blaring the trumpets about this story? Why aren't they telling
00:15:11.900 her story at all? This is a hero woman. Uh, it's, it seems like also Hispanic woman taking care of her
00:15:18.200 male partner after sustaining a gunshot wound to the face. You think this would be the kind of story
00:15:23.960 that our liberal friends would eat up? I mean, they're constantly coming out with movies, um,
00:15:29.440 with, with fake versions of kick-ass females who do this kind of thing. Here's the real thing,
00:15:34.700 the real item in the flesh. And they don't seem very excited about it. We all know why,
00:15:40.020 because the left has devolved to the point where they aren't allowed to celebrate or honor anyone
00:15:45.820 who is not a violent criminal. All of their heroes recently are violent criminals. They have no heroic
00:15:52.040 heroes. All of their heroes are scumbags who happen to get shot by the cop cops. That's, that's the
00:15:57.200 requirement for being a hero on the left today. Being a real hero disqualifies you. Um, that's
00:16:02.860 the left, but the rest of us, the rest of us can honor and celebrate this woman. Incredible story
00:16:07.200 there. Uh, number three, you may have noticed that those riots in Lancaster that we talked about
00:16:14.980 to start the week seem to dissipate pretty quickly. Um, one night of rioting and then it's,
00:16:23.260 it's done that we haven't heard anything else about Lancaster. Now this is in contrast to Portland,
00:16:28.680 Seattle, where it went on for months on end. Kenosha, it went on for weeks in Lancaster one
00:16:35.640 night and it's done. Why is that? Well, I think this might help solve the puzzle. According to the
00:16:41.460 New York post, several of the rioters arrested are now facing $1 million bail. And you can see right
00:16:48.560 here, uh, this is the, the, their mug shots. One of them is a, the, the blonde chick there. One of
00:16:53.660 them, she's a sorority girl apparently. And now she's in jail and she can't get out. She's got a
00:16:59.500 billion dollars bail. Um, they're all learning, you know, this is what happens when you pull this
00:17:04.920 crap out in the country. And it's not just bail police in Lancaster. They came down hard on the
00:17:10.680 rioters. They were using tear gas the very first night. They didn't, they didn't, they didn't spot the
00:17:16.320 rioters two weeks to riot before they even tried to enforce the law. No, immediately they were out
00:17:22.720 there with, with, uh, in full force tear gas. And, um, and there are videos of them, you know,
00:17:29.420 rolling up in vans, not unmarked vans, liberals. You don't need to freak out about that. They are,
00:17:34.300 they are marked vans, but they came, they identified the ring leaders of the rioting and they singled
00:17:41.040 them out and they, they rolled up in the police vans and they took them and arrested them. And now
00:17:45.320 they're facing a million dollars bail. So what do we learn? When you give these punks
00:17:53.580 consequences, real consequences, the problem goes away. Lancaster came down hard, arrested people,
00:18:03.000 harsh penalties. What do you know? Rioting stops. And that's why we don't need to hear anything about
00:18:09.760 resources. That's one of the excuses we've heard in places like Portland and Seattle. Well,
00:18:15.040 we don't have the resources. What resources do you think Lancaster has? This is Amish country.
00:18:22.620 How often do you think the police officers in, in Amish country are dealing with rioting?
00:18:27.260 It's probably the first time ever. And yet they were able to put it down that quickly,
00:18:31.680 simply through enforcing the law and having real consequences. Because most of these people
00:18:36.300 that are out rioting, they don't want any part of that. They're doing it for fun. They're doing it
00:18:40.840 because they're nihilists. They're doing it because they've got misdirected rage and they're just,
00:18:45.200 and they're, and they're, they're just spraying it in every direction. Uh, you start, you start making
00:18:49.420 it real for them and it goes away. All right. Um, where are we? Number four, this is fascinating from
00:18:54.320 the daily wire. Again, a group of astrophysicists say they've accidentally stumbled upon a possible hint
00:18:59.840 of life on Venus. Um, an unexplained chemical that could indicate the presence of bacteria or even
00:19:08.380 ongoing activity associated with specific chemical processes. Uh, live science reports that the team
00:19:14.020 was trying to get a baseline read for phosphine from a planet, uh, Venus, not thought to have
00:19:19.340 phosphine in the, in the atmosphere. And then it turns out that it does. And there's a lot of
00:19:25.120 scientific stuff here that I'm not going to read, but basically phosphine is a sign of life. Uh,
00:19:31.440 because the thing with phosphine is that it's, um, it, uh, it, uh, it's, it phosphonates and it
00:19:37.220 creates a, uh, uh, I have no idea. Actually I have no, no clue whatsoever, but the point is apparently
00:19:43.200 there might be some kind of life. Now I'm assuming that any life on an 800 degree planet with a toxic
00:19:49.500 atmosphere probably is not intelligent. We're not looking at an intelligent civilization. Uh, probably
00:19:54.720 something more like Portland, but either way, I, you know, I I've always considered it plausible that
00:20:00.460 there could be intelligent life in our solar system on other planets, if not Venus, then maybe Mars.
00:20:06.720 And it seems plausible to me that they could have intelligent civilizations. The reason we don't see
00:20:11.360 them with the satellites and the rovers and everything is that they're hiding underground
00:20:14.940 because they don't want us to know about them. They were checking us out and seeing how things are
00:20:20.360 developing on earth. And they said, Oh crap, this isn't looking good. And so they're just,
00:20:24.120 they're hiding out and waiting for us to inevitably destroy ourselves. And then they can come back out
00:20:28.960 and, uh, live out in the open again. I, you know, the way I look at it, I think earthlings are a
00:20:32.840 little bit like, you know, like the kind of person, you know, maybe an acquaintance who, you know,
00:20:37.300 and, but if you see them at the grocery store, you're going to hide in the pasta sauce aisle until
00:20:40.960 they leave because just because if they're obnoxious and if you see them, they're going to start
00:20:44.900 talking to you and they're not going to go away. I think on a galactic scale, um, earth is probably
00:20:50.200 a lot like that. Number five, a man in Oregon was arrested for starting a brush fire. Um, then,
00:20:57.220 then released. So we just talked about how to do this the right way. You know, you, you arrest people
00:21:02.340 and you keep them. This is the wrong way again, cause we're back in Oregon. So he was arrested
00:21:05.720 for starting a brush fire. He was released. Then he started six more and was arrested again.
00:21:11.460 Now between this and the gender reveal party that's that we know also caused some of these fires,
00:21:18.560 the link to climate change seems to be, um, becoming a little bit less clear, shall we say?
00:21:23.840 Maybe climate change has driven people mad and, and caused them to start fires and do gender reveal
00:21:29.480 parties. I don't know. I think there was an M night Shyamalan movie that was sort of about that
00:21:34.440 with Mark Wahlberg, if I'm remembering correctly, what was that movie called? Where the, the trees were
00:21:39.480 like causing people to kill themselves because as revenge for deforestation. Am I making this up?
00:21:44.020 No, it was called the happening. Uh, I think that was a movie, which by the way, could you think of a
00:21:48.940 lazier name for a movie than the happening? What should we call the movie? I don't know. Things are
00:21:55.040 happening in the movie. Maybe the happening. Um, finally, we just did number five. Here's a bonus. I
00:22:01.520 can't, I can't not play this. I really enjoyed this clip. This is Nancy Pelosi on CNBC, uh,
00:22:09.140 yesterday with Jim Cramer. And here's what happened. What deal can we have at crazy Nancy?
00:22:15.580 I'm sorry. I, that was the president. I, I have such reverence for the office. I would never use
00:22:21.740 that term, but it is hard. But you just did. Oh, come on. You just did. You know what I mean?
00:22:26.940 You know what I mean? The reverence I have for the office is so great. No, he was, he was right the
00:22:32.040 first time, uh, crazy Nancy. That's her name. I like how at the end he goes, Oh, come on. You know what I
00:22:37.560 meant? And she says, yeah, yeah, I know what you meant. Well, what, what did you mean? If not that
00:22:41.440 she's crazy, isn't that what you meant? Um, I, and then, and then my next favorite thing is how
00:22:48.140 Kramer emphasizes the respect he has for the office, not for her, but for the office. That's
00:22:54.380 a backhanded compliment. We says, you know, I would never, I have so much respect and love for
00:22:58.440 your office. Your office is what I like. Not so much you, but your office. Um, anyway, Nancy Pelosi,
00:23:04.380 not having a great week. Uh, first someone poops on her driveway. Then she's called crazy
00:23:09.600 on national television. Tough week for her. Pretty enjoyable for the rest of us, but kind
00:23:15.380 of tough for her. All right, let's get to our daily cancellation. Today, we're going to
00:23:18.720 be canceling with great wrath and vengeance, Reverend Bob McCabe, a pastor at the church of
00:23:24.120 the divine child, Catholic church, Michigan. Um, Reverend Bob is, is canceled for being yet
00:23:28.460 another spineless, gutless, skinless, nearly translucent jellyfish like creature masquerading as a
00:23:34.200 leader and shepherd of Christ's flock. Specifically, Reverend Bob is canceled for apologizing for a
00:23:39.760 good, truthful, and necessary homily given by his associate pastor. Father Paul Graney at the 430
00:23:46.000 mass this past Saturday, apparently caused controversy by speaking plainly and honestly
00:23:51.420 about Antifa and BLM. Here's a bit of what father Graney said. Well, these days, if you turn on the news or
00:23:58.900 open a newspaper or click on any news source online the past three, four months or so, you've seen
00:24:06.820 maybe some of the ugliest times in our nation's history. People have been out in our streets doing
00:24:13.940 incredibly violent things in the name of justice. Cars have been torched, property has been destroyed,
00:24:22.760 businesses looted and burned, and police officers and other people have been intimidated,
00:24:28.120 assaulted, and even murdered. All in the name of justice, oftentimes rallying cry being no justice,
00:24:37.720 no peace. Well, this past week, just a couple days ago, or I think yesterday, uh, marked the 19th
00:24:44.880 anniversary of 9-11 when Islamic terrorists hijacked passenger airplanes and flew them into the World
00:24:53.560 Trade Center in New York City. Now, uh, Father Graney went on to say that Al-Qaeda, quote,
00:24:59.360 came with the goal to destroy America little by little with acts of terror. But in 2020, many of
00:25:03.940 our own people are now out there in the streets wanting to remake America into something else by
00:25:08.240 destroying what it is today. Little by little, there's no great army, but it's a riot, but it's
00:25:12.840 riot by riot. Now, reading from the Detroit News article on this, has a little bit more information.
00:25:18.440 It says, uh, Graney singled out two groups, he said, intended to, quote, implement communism,
00:25:23.180 a stateless, classless society. One was Antifa, uh, and then the other was Black Lives Matter. The
00:25:28.520 associate pastor called the first an anarchist terrorist organization and rejected the second
00:25:32.880 as working against the traditional family structure. And he read aloud from the BLM website
00:25:37.640 from the pulpit. This is great. Um, Al-Qaeda's goal was to come to the United States and kill Americans.
00:25:43.220 Americans really just wanted to wipe America off the map, quoting now from, from Father Graney.
00:25:47.680 And they, they would have done it if they could. But today, those who we see wanting to bring down
00:25:52.540 America are Americans and they want to do it under the facade of justice, freedom, and love.
00:25:56.840 But it's all a bunch of baloney. It's anti-Christian. It's anti-family. It's evil.
00:26:02.840 That was the homily. Everything he said there, of course, entirely, absolutely, undeniably true.
00:26:08.240 Not just true. It's a necessary truth that many Christians in the pews need to hear.
00:26:14.120 How do I know they need to hear it? Well, precisely because so many of them apparently
00:26:17.360 didn't want to hear it. They complained and cried and they said that the mean priest made
00:26:21.380 their tummies hurt. And that's when Reverend Bob stepped in and, uh, he, uh, admonished the,
00:26:27.080 the, uh, the priest publicly in a statement on Facebook. He posted, he said, uh, I am so sorry
00:26:33.340 that a homily given by Father Paul Graney at the 4.30 p.m. Mass on Saturday was, has brought forth
00:26:38.340 division, anger, confusion, and chaos. Chaos. There's chaos in the streets because of this
00:26:44.840 homily that a priest gave in the 4.30 p.m. Mass in Michigan. Uh, he said, I, I spoke first with a
00:26:50.100 couple individuals shortly after this homily. I could sense their anger and their hurt.
00:26:54.980 Anger and hurt at what? It's true, Reverend Bob. Were they angry and hurt because the truth
00:27:02.220 that Father Graney shared was difficult to hear? Were they angry and hurt because the truth was
00:27:06.580 politically inconvenient to them and they don't want others to find out about it? Were they angry
00:27:10.700 and hurt because, well, you know what? It doesn't matter. If you're angry and hurt by simply by simple
00:27:15.660 statements of truth, that's on you. That's your problem. Um, it goes on here. Uh, this is the more
00:27:22.160 of the statement. McCabe said he, he spoke with Graney, quote, to express my opinion that his homily was
00:27:26.560 not pastoral or sensitive to all the people who would be hearing it. It also expressed concern that he did
00:27:31.060 not attend, uh, did not mention any of the scriptures proclaimed at mass. A homily is supposed to reflect
00:27:35.980 on and break open the word of God proclaimed. The next day, Graney gave a pastorally sound
00:27:41.260 homily based on the scriptures. McCabe said, he went on to say, as your pastor, I want to assure you that
00:27:46.700 at Divine Child, we love and respect all persons. Every person is sacred in the eyes of God, regardless
00:27:52.260 of their race, religion, or sexuality. At different times, we need to focus on our different groups and
00:27:57.240 their particular needs. Right now, the murder of countless persons of color demands a clear response.
00:28:02.000 The entire human family needs to unite in confronting these injustices. We must protect the lives of
00:28:07.480 persons of color and be the voice for people who do not have one. Okay. Let me just say a few things
00:28:12.100 here. First of all, I can guarantee you that this is the first time old Bob has ever had a problem with
00:28:18.120 a priest not citing the gospel during his homily. I tell you that right now. His concern here has
00:28:23.600 nothing to do with the priest's failure to break open the word of God. As it happens, one of the
00:28:28.360 readings at mass last weekend was Sirach 2730, which says, quote,
00:28:33.880 resentment and anger, these are foul things too, and a sinner is a master at them both. Whoever exacts
00:28:39.780 vengeance will experience the vengeance of the Lord who keeps strict account of sin.
00:28:45.380 BLM is all about exacting vengeance for perceived offenses committed against them. It's all about
00:28:51.400 resentment and anger. That's the entire movement. Those are its guiding principles. Would Reverend
00:28:56.420 Bob have been okay with the homily had Father Graney made this explicit connection? Something tells me
00:29:00.520 he wouldn't have been. Second, the message delivered from the pulpit should not be sensitive to those who
00:29:07.600 hear it. If by sensitive you mean concern primarily with protecting their fragile feelings, that is not
00:29:14.440 what the priest is there to do. That's not why the church exists. That's not why people walk through
00:29:19.220 those doors. And if that is why they walk through the doors, to have their ears tickled and their
00:29:23.700 feelings protected, then it's better to scare them straight, slap some sense into them, rather than
00:29:28.140 sacrifice truth for their sake. Third, no, in fact, we do not need to hear homilies about how the murder
00:29:35.480 of persons of color is bad. We don't need to hear the priest stand up there and tell us that it's wrong
00:29:40.740 for racist white people to murder black people. Everybody knows that. Everyone agrees with that.
00:29:45.060 Everyone in the church already fully and totally and completely understands that. They don't need
00:29:50.300 to be told. There's nothing more to be said on the subject. Also, it just so happens there is no such
00:29:56.040 epidemic, as I've covered many times. Those kinds of murders are extremely, extremely, extremely rare,
00:30:00.940 and none of the high-profile police killings in recent years have had any established or even
00:30:04.980 plausible link to racism. But aside from that, sermons against racism, sermons against white supremacists
00:30:10.880 killing black people, sermons about the wonders of racial unity, these are useless messages for
00:30:15.560 the reason that everybody already agrees. It's the same reason why I assume and I would hope a priest
00:30:21.840 isn't going to get up there on the anniversary of D-Day and deliver a message explaining why the Nazis
00:30:26.500 were bad. There was a time and place where such a message was needed and real courage was required
00:30:31.140 to give it. Bonhoeffer is a good example. But that time and place is not here, thankfully.
00:30:36.120 So what a priest should be doing is thinking to himself, what can I say to these people that they
00:30:43.980 might not already know or might not fully understand? What is it that they actually need to hear? The only
00:30:50.180 reason he should ask himself what the congregation wants to hear is just so he can rule those subjects
00:30:54.400 out completely. People can go anywhere to hear what they want to hear. Much of the media and Hollywood
00:30:59.580 and pop culture exists precisely to scratch that itch. The church should not be in the giving them what
00:31:05.880 they want to hear business. It should be in the truth business. The hard truth business. The
00:31:11.840 necessary truth business. In fact, if you're a priest and you give a homily and it doesn't upset
00:31:17.620 anybody in the pews, then it was probably a waste of time. But that's what the priest here did.
00:31:23.520 He upset some people. He spoke some truth. And of course, the feckless coward masquerading as a
00:31:28.620 spiritual leader apologized for it. And for that, he is canceled. But we should all, speaking of
00:31:37.000 supporting people who support us, we should all support Christian leaders, priests, pastors who
00:31:41.500 actually do like this priest, who get up there and speak truth. Because here's the other thing.
00:31:47.760 They're going to have to deal, as we saw here, they're going to have to deal with the wrath from
00:31:52.160 many of the cowards in the pews and also the cowards who are above them. That's what we saw here. So
00:31:59.100 that priest is canceled. The other priest is the opposite of canceled, whatever that is.
00:32:04.500 We'll just, we'll give him a round of applause. We'll leave it there for today.
00:32:08.200 Thanks for watching, everybody. Thanks for listening. Godspeed.
