The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 594 - Vote Against Mob Rule, Vote Republican

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, it's election day, and it looks very different from any other election day in modern American history.

00:00:06.040 Shops are boarded up. The National Guard is on standby.

00:00:10.260 And none of this is being done to protect against possible mobs of angry Republicans. We know that.

00:00:15.180 Also, five headlines, including a CNN contributor sincerely arguing that Donald Trump is literally worse than Hitler.

00:00:21.580 And I think this is if Donald Trump wins, it's going to be in big part because of nonsense like this from media.

00:00:26.640 Also, reports of families being ripped apart by political differences.

00:00:30.080 Is there ever a good reason to disown a family member because of the politician they support?

00:00:34.860 And finally, in our daily cancellation, maybe not the issue that's on the forefront of people's minds right now, but I will cancel daylight savings time once and for all.

00:00:42.080 It needs to be done, and it will be done today. But we start here.

00:00:45.100 You know, as America heads to the polls today, as I mentioned, here's a question that I've been pondering.

00:00:49.580 Maybe you can help me out because I can't really remember.

00:00:52.840 Back in 2008 and 2012, did any businesses have to board up their windows for fear that Republicans would riot and loot if Obama won?

00:01:01.380 And when Obama did win, both times, if you recall, did Republicans then riot and loot? Did they?

00:01:07.560 See, what I remember is the Tea Party movement, which rose to prominence in Obama's first term.

00:01:11.540 And I remember thousands of Tea Party rallies across the country.

00:01:15.060 And I remember not one single example anywhere at any time of any form of rioting or looting at all by anyone.

00:01:23.340 That's what I remember. And yet now in 2020, the scene in many cities as we get ready for polls to close is truly dystopian.

00:01:30.820 It's the kind of thing that would have been unthinkable up until recently.

00:01:34.320 The kind of thing that you saw in other countries and judged them for it and felt superior and thought, well, it doesn't happen here.

00:01:40.820 We're too civilized. We don't do that here. But it does happen here now.

00:01:44.960 Thanks exclusively to the left and the Democrats. Exclusively to them.

00:01:49.620 Businesses across the country are boarding up. The National Guard is being called in.

00:01:52.440 Preparations are being made for violence and chaos because of a presidential election.

00:01:57.060 Here's a report out of New York by the New York Post.

00:02:00.880 It says New York City restaurants are getting ready in case Election Day comes serve with a side of civil unrest.

00:02:06.020 As retail shops from the Gucci boutique in Soho to the Macy's flagship on Herald Square board up their storefronts in case of riots, restaurants across Manhattan say they aren't fooling around either.

00:02:16.940 Patsy's Italian, the 75-year-old Neapolitan eatery, will be closed on Election Day for security reasons.

00:02:25.360 And Sal Scognomillo, the restaurant's third-generation chef slash owner, says that they boarded up the eatery on Monday and also beefed up security, hiring two ex-NYPD armed guards for Election Day and Wednesday when he plans to reopen.

00:02:41.660 However, he says he will be monitoring the climate to see how it goes.

00:02:44.920 We hope to reopen for dinner on Wednesday, but we'll play it by ear.

00:02:47.920 In the case of restaurants, the New York Police Department has warned that outdoor tables and chairs that lately have become ubiquitous on sidewalks could be weaponized by riled-up crowds.

00:02:59.140 The advisory was addressed to Manhattan eateries south of 59th Street, but there are many other restaurants across the city that are taking similar precautions.

00:03:08.000 And then in Chicago, you can see here images of the National Guard rolling into town.

00:03:14.980 A report by CBS in Austin talks about all the business owners boarding up in that city.

00:03:20.340 It starts like this. It says,

00:03:21.540 On the eve of Election Day, some Austin businesses were busy boarding up their storefronts in anticipation of the Election Day unrest.

00:03:28.780 These are scary times, especially for my employees, said Jagat Patel.

00:03:32.980 Patel's the owner of 7-Eleven on Congress Avenue.

00:03:35.580 He says,

00:03:36.460 Cruz began boarding up his business with wood and plexiglass on Sunday.

00:03:41.120 He says,

00:03:41.560 It's something I thought I would never have to do.

00:03:44.300 And then meanwhile, in D.C., it's especially depressing with whole city blocks under lockdown.

00:03:49.520 Here's Nigel Farage in D.C. yesterday with the video camera going around surveying the scene.

00:03:56.940 And here's what he found.

00:03:58.480 So this is Connecticut Avenue.

00:04:01.200 It's the road up.

00:04:02.220 We're not more than much.

00:04:03.180 I'm sort of half a mile away from the White House.

00:04:06.060 And can you see what's happening here in D.C.?

00:04:08.220 The place is being boarded up.

00:04:11.740 One or two businesses have not yet been boarded up, but they will be by the end of the day.

00:04:16.120 And this is right throughout the city.

00:04:19.600 And this is in anticipation of real violence following the result, or even an inconclusive result, of the election on Tuesday.

00:04:27.800 So it's 8 o'clock in the morning.

00:04:30.280 As you can see, a few protesters are beginning to gather.

00:04:33.360 I wouldn't have dared show my face until later in the day, I can tell you.

00:04:36.940 And let's just be straight about this.

00:04:39.180 Why are they boarding up D.C.?

00:04:41.620 What are they scared of?

00:04:42.800 Are they scared of Trump supporters?

00:04:45.660 Are they scared of some of these slightly crazy groups out in America?

00:04:49.740 No.

00:04:50.300 What they fear is that Trump wins.

00:04:53.520 And that we get, you know, from little groups like this, large-scale violence, looting, and rioting.

00:04:59.980 And then you see here even more images out of D.C. from a BBC correspondent.

00:05:04.720 I have to say, it's especially embarrassing to have these international reporters and correspondents and things reporting on this.

00:05:10.180 Because, like I said, we're not supposed to be like this in America.

00:05:13.140 We don't riot over elections.

00:05:15.280 We have peaceful transfers of power or peaceful retentions of power, as the case may be.

00:05:20.120 But that era seems to be over, or most people think it's over.

00:05:24.880 At least our confidence in having peaceful elections is gone.

00:05:29.840 And for good reason.

00:05:31.960 You know?

00:05:32.600 But why is it?

00:05:34.180 Why do these business owners think that they have to put plywood over their storefronts?

00:05:40.320 Are they worried about rampaging Republicans?

00:05:42.600 Are they concerned about thousands of QAnon devotees descending on their cities? 0.99

00:05:47.820 No.

00:05:48.360 They're worried about leftists.

00:05:49.480 They're worried about Democrats.

00:05:51.320 They are worried about the reaction from the left should Donald Trump win.

00:05:55.180 Nobody is concerned about the reaction to a Biden win.

00:05:58.880 Except for the possibility of celebratory rioting, which may well happen.

00:06:02.660 But nobody thinks that Republicans will take to the streets and start stealing consumer electronics from department stores in response to a Biden win.

00:06:12.060 That won't happen.

00:06:13.200 I'll say it right here.

00:06:15.000 And I'll eat my words if I'm wrong.

00:06:16.740 I'll say it.

00:06:17.080 It will not happen, period.

00:06:18.460 And we all know it won't happen.

00:06:20.860 Here's the truth.

00:06:21.840 And this is not a simplification.

00:06:23.720 It's the reality.

00:06:25.340 Not all leftists are rioters and looters. 0.84

00:06:27.720 But all rioters and looters are leftists.

00:06:30.620 This is exclusively a phenomenon on the left that is exclusively a tool, a weapon of the left.

00:06:36.300 And if you want to talk about rigged elections, the main rigging happening in this election is the implied threat of violence should Donald Trump win.

00:06:44.760 I have no idea how many people in cities and business owners especially will vote for Biden simply because they're afraid of what will happen to them in their livelihood if Trump wins and the mob becomes enraged.

00:06:55.980 But I'm fairly sure that there are a not insignificant number of people who are at least tempted to vote against their political beliefs and interests purely out of fear of the mob.

00:07:07.080 And I can understand that inclination.

00:07:08.680 But also, it's exactly why you can't vote Democrat.

00:07:12.580 Putting everything else aside, if Democrats win, the mob wins.

00:07:18.600 A Democrat victory is a victory for mob rule, mob justice. 0.77

00:07:22.880 Yes, the mob will have its tantrum if it doesn't get its way. 0.99

00:07:26.160 The rioting and looting is disturbing and sad.

00:07:28.500 And if you're in the middle of it, it's terrifying.

00:07:30.180 But the much more disturbing, sad, and terrifying prospect is that these people should get their way, should seize power, should have more than umbrellas and glass bottles to use as weapons against their political enemies.

00:07:41.940 That's the terrifying thing.

00:07:43.100 The mob cannot win.

00:07:44.160 It must not win.

00:07:45.280 It's gotten its way far too often.

00:07:46.700 And whether it's the violent mobs in the street allowed to destroy whatever it wants, or the cancel culture mob on social media bending people to its will, extracting phony apologies through threat and blackmail, the mob in both forms is, first of all, always on the left, and second of all, always wrong, always evil, must always be opposed, denied, rejected.

00:08:12.040 Whatever the mob wants, we should always do the opposite.

00:08:16.700 When you've got a mob of people threatening violence, if you don't do X, Y, Z, that in and of itself is a very good reason to do ABC.

00:08:26.920 And I hope that's the result today, and I pray for that result, but we'll find out soon enough.

00:08:32.520 In the meantime, let's get to five headlines.

00:08:34.440 Well, as we talk about voting, there's another kind of sort of voting you can do, and that's with your wallet to support companies that support you.

00:08:48.660 And it's really important to support companies that have your back and the culture that believe the same things you do and stand for the same value as you do.

00:08:56.200 And I could tell you one company that definitely falls in that category, and that's the pro-life phone company, Charity Mobile.

00:09:02.980 Charity Mobile is a great, great company, great service.

00:09:05.560 And 5% of your monthly plan goes to the pro-life, pro-family charity of your choice, so you can decide what charity you want some of that to go to, and that's where it will go.

00:09:14.220 So, new activations and eligible accounts get a free cell phone with free activations and free shipping.

00:09:19.500 And, look, there's no contracts, there's no termination fee, so they're not going to try to, you know, stop you from terminating by leveling some sort of fee.

00:09:30.480 And there's no risk with a 30-day guarantee.

00:09:32.660 But at the same time, I think if you use Charity Mobile like I do, you're going to find that none of that matters because you're not going to want to leave anyway.

00:09:38.500 It's such a great company.

00:09:39.260 There's live customer service based in the USA, and you've also got the ability to, you know, protect your kids and your family by blocking use of cellular data, picture messages, text messages.

00:09:49.140 You can have those parental locks if you need them.

00:09:51.220 A lot of other perks as well.

00:09:54.320 Free usage alerts, free app to monitor your usage, pay your bill, many other things.

00:09:59.320 I know I use that with my charity mobile phone.

00:10:02.320 And here's what it comes down to.

00:10:03.460 You can help to build a culture of life in America, and you can turn everyday living into effortless giving to the charity of your choice, and it really is that simple.

00:10:11.520 So call Charity Mobile at 1-877-474-3662 or chat with them online at charitymobile.com.

00:10:20.040 All right, well, all eyes are on Pennsylvania today, which makes this tweet from the Attorney General of Pennsylvania all the more disturbing.

00:10:26.760 He tweeted this on Monday afternoon, hours before the polls even would close, of course, or had even opened, in fact.

00:10:35.280 This is what he said.

00:10:36.560 If all the votes are added up in Pennsylvania, Trump is going to lose.

00:10:40.020 That's why he's working overtime to subtract as many votes as possible from this process.

00:10:43.960 For the record, he's 0-6 against us in court.

00:10:46.360 We've protected voting rights.

00:10:47.760 Now ignore the noise and vote.

00:10:49.960 Okay.

00:10:50.180 The second part of that, whatever, he's telling people to vote, fine.

00:10:55.340 But the first part of it, is it just me, or is this guy indicating that he knows the results of the election before it's actually been decided?

00:11:04.720 He said, he declared it, Trump's going to lose.

00:11:08.820 So this would seem either to be an attempt to suppress Republican votes, all the complaints about voter suppression on the left.

00:11:17.280 But this seems like voter suppression, suppressing Republican votes by telling people that there's no point.

00:11:23.360 Biden's already won.

00:11:24.800 Or, alternatively, it could be something more sinister, perhaps criminal.

00:11:30.100 I mean, if he really does know the results of the election before it happens, then we've got a problem.

00:11:36.740 And if he doesn't know, then we're back at voter suppression.

00:11:40.680 Number two, the CNN contributor and supposed expert on mental health tweeted this.

00:11:49.880 She might know something about mental health problems from experience, I guess.

00:11:52.700 She says, Donald Trump is not an Adolf Hitler.

00:11:55.600 At least Hitler improved the daily life of his followers, had discipline, and required more of himself to gain the respect of his followers. 0.95

00:12:03.700 Even with the same pathology, there are varying degrees of competence.

00:12:07.080 Okay, so, Donald Trump is literally worse than Hitler.

00:12:12.840 He's just like Hitler, except less competent and less disciplined. 0.88

00:12:16.180 That's the take from this person who's on CNN all the time.

00:12:19.120 I think she's on MSNBC also a lot.

00:12:21.140 No surprise there.

00:12:22.260 Where do we even start here?

00:12:23.660 Do we need to address the claim that the guy who tried to literally invade the world was disciplined?

00:12:31.360 Do we have to break this down historically and address that?

00:12:33.860 He had the respect of his followers?

00:12:38.460 Yeah, when you require respect or you get sent off to a death camp, that's pretty easy to extract respect.

00:12:46.720 It's not really respect.

00:12:47.580 That's just people in fear because they're living under tyranny.

00:12:51.920 But probably it's not necessary to analyze this historically.

00:12:55.600 I think I'll just leave it at this.

00:12:59.200 If Trump wins today, it'll have a whole lot to do with stuff like this, I think.

00:13:04.300 People see these kinds of attacks from the media and then rightly dismiss everything else they hear from the media.

00:13:12.420 Also, there are a lot of people who see the hysterical and despicable media and vote Trump just to spike them.

00:13:18.640 I've heard from a lot of people like that.

00:13:20.340 Now, that's not the majority of Trump's support.

00:13:23.200 If you look at the rallies, people are obviously excited about Trump in a positive sense.

00:13:28.820 They actually like Trump himself.

00:13:30.900 But if this is a close election, I don't think it'll be an exaggeration to say that this sort of stuff in the media is what probably put Trump over the top.

00:13:42.320 People voting just to spike them.

00:13:43.880 Number three, Bernie Sanders was speaking with the squad recently, and he said the quiet part out loud, as they say.

00:13:50.880 Or maybe he just said the out loud part out loud, because I think they've been pretty upfront and direct about this.

00:13:56.980 But here's what he had to say.

00:13:58.480 So our first task, we made it clear to everybody.

00:14:00.780 It's no great secret.

00:14:02.140 Our first task, we've got to defeat the worst president in the modern history of this country.

00:14:06.760 And number two, we organize our people to make sure that Biden becomes the most progressive president since FDR.

00:14:13.940 Yeah, I'm not sure, first of all, what that was exactly.

00:14:18.640 Does the squad have a podcast or something?

00:14:21.160 Do they get together for karaoke?

00:14:23.200 So I'm not sure what the context was of that.

00:14:26.120 But either way, Bernie says to the squad, we've got to make sure Biden is the most progressive president.

00:14:30.540 We've got to make sure of that, which is another way of saying this dude's brain is made of soggy Cheerios at this point.

00:14:37.880 And we're going to use that to our full advantage.

00:14:40.740 That's what they're just announcing.

00:14:42.880 Now, Biden, even if he had his wits about him, certainly could not be trusted to stand up to the radical left because he lacks the willpower.

00:14:50.480 He lacks the courage and integrity. 0.94

00:14:52.200 He's just a mediocre man, a career politician. 0.96

00:14:55.980 Almost all career politicians, by necessity, are exemplars of mediocrity. 0.84

00:15:02.020 But considering he is half senile, on his way to being full senile, he couldn't resist them even if he wanted to.

00:15:09.720 And that's a part of this whole picture that somehow hasn't been discussed and emphasized enough.

00:15:15.860 It's been discussed and emphasized a lot, but I still think not quite enough.

00:15:20.420 Because perhaps the only argument that should have ever been necessary to make against Joe Biden is this.

00:15:30.780 I mean, there are many other arguments you could make, but why should we need to go further than just saying he's 78 years old and he's losing his mind?

00:15:41.420 That's it.

00:15:42.100 I mean, really, nothing else even matters.

00:15:45.080 78 years old and he's losing his mind.

00:15:46.520 We can't put this guy in charge of the country, give him the nuclear codes.

00:15:51.700 We can't do that.

00:15:53.220 Maybe we will do that.

00:15:54.680 I don't know.

00:15:56.740 But all of the crises that follow will have been totally foreseeable and preventable in that case.

00:16:04.200 Because in that case, we'll be taking a guy who's 78 years old, is in the process of losing his mind.

00:16:09.980 Everybody knows it.

00:16:10.920 We make a joke about it, but it's also 100% true.

00:16:14.160 And we're putting him in the White House.

00:16:18.120 The most stressful job.

00:16:20.700 Even if Biden were to just go home like he should be, just go home, sit on his porch in a rocking chair, and whittle away the final years of his life.

00:16:29.760 Even if he did that, the chances are astronomically high that in the next four years he's going to be full senile.

00:16:35.840 Just when you look at the trajectory.

00:16:37.980 But then you put him in the most stressful job in the world.

00:16:40.280 There's really no chance of any other outcome.

00:16:44.360 So what happens?

00:16:45.580 What happens when we have a senile president?

00:16:49.060 I mean, are we going to know about it?

00:16:51.140 Are they going to be honest with us and tell us?

00:16:53.420 What happens next?

00:16:54.800 What do we do about that?

00:16:55.800 I don't think anyone knows exactly, because this is going to be untread territory.

00:17:05.180 But we might find out.

00:17:06.340 Hopefully we don't, but we might.

00:17:07.880 Number four, there have been a lot of stories in the media about how the election is tearing families apart.

00:17:12.300 So here's one from Reuters.

00:17:13.440 It says,

00:17:13.780 When lifelong Democrat Mayra Gomez told her 21-year-old son five months ago that she was voting for Donald Trump in Tuesday's presidential election, he cut her out of his life.

00:17:23.520 She says, quote,

00:17:24.220 He specifically told me, you are no longer my mother because you're voting for Trump.

00:17:28.980 Their last conversation was so bitter that she's not sure they can reconcile.

00:17:32.480 Even if Trump loses his re-election bid, the damage is done in people's minds. 1.00

00:17:36.280 Trump is a monster. 1.00

00:17:37.180 It's sad. 1.00

00:17:37.820 There are people not talking to me anymore, and I'm not sure that will change, said Gomez.

00:17:42.100 Because Gomez is not alone in thinking that bitter splits within families and among friends over Trump's tumultuous presidency will be difficult, if not impossible, to repair, even after he leaves office, whenever that is.

00:17:53.620 In interviews with 10 voters, five Trump supporters, five Biden supporters, a few could see the wrecked personal relationships caused by Trump's tenure fully healing, and most believe them destroyed forever.

00:18:04.260 Throughout his nearly four-year norm-smashing presidency, Trump has stirred strong emotions among both supporters and opponents.

00:18:10.540 Many of his backers admire his moves to overhaul immigration, blah, blah, blah.

00:18:14.420 Okay, we don't need to read that part. 0.96

00:18:15.980 Okay, so the, um, of course, Reuters is blaming Trump for this, so, which is stupid, but I think there are two points here. 0.95

00:18:23.300 Number one, political differences in a family can make for great arguments and debates over Thanksgiving, which are always fun. 1.00

00:18:30.940 Um, but if you're disowning family members over them, you're not only a bad person, you're also very stupid and boring. 0.99

00:18:38.240 Um, I don't understand people who take political disagreements personally at all, but especially in a family. 0.99

00:18:44.220 In my family, you know, we, we, we basically agree on the, on the fundamental issues, but we still find plenty to debate and argue about, and we have these knockdown, drag-out debates over all kinds of things, and, um, it's a lot of fun.

00:18:57.340 Nobody gets their feelings hurt.

00:18:58.380 At least I don't get my feelings hurt.

00:19:00.380 I don't think anyone else does, and we're fine.

00:19:02.820 Just imagine being a grown man and running away crying, saying that you never want to talk to your mother again because she disagrees with you politically.

00:19:12.560 My God, I, I, I can't wrap my head around that.

00:19:17.420 I cannot even contemplate having a political debate with my mother and getting so emotional that I run away screaming, I never want to see you again!

00:19:25.860 Get away from me! 1.00

00:19:28.080 I can't imagine reacting that way to anything, least of all a political debate, and even less a political debate with my family.

00:19:36.980 So, learn to embrace these arguments and differences.

00:19:40.020 It keeps things interesting.

00:19:41.060 Imagine if you, if you were in a family and everyone agreed about everything, and there was nothing to discuss or debate.

00:19:46.400 I, I can't imagine living in a family like that.

00:19:48.420 Number two, another point, though, um, that I always think about when I read stories like this, which is, um, uh, why are you talking to the media about your family drama in the first place?

00:20:00.100 So, I'm sorry for Mrs. Gomez that, uh, her, her son is treating her this way, but what, a, a reporter from Reuters calls you up and says,

00:20:09.580 Hey, um, I was wondering if you wanted to air your dirty laundry about your family in front of the entire world.

00:20:14.100 I'm doing a story.

00:20:15.360 Do you want to tell the entire world about the strife in your family, in your home?

00:20:19.760 Do you want to?

00:20:20.160 Oh, you do.

00:20:20.720 Great.

00:20:22.320 That's another thing I can't imagine.

00:20:25.080 Uh, so those, those are the two tips to take away.

00:20:27.360 If you have debates in your family, that's good.

00:20:30.180 It's a good thing.

00:20:30.980 It keeps things fresh and interesting, but if you do have serious strife and drama, uh, maybe keep it out of the media, keep it off of social media too.

00:20:39.300 We have an epidemic of oversharing in this country.

00:20:42.460 Much, much of it happening on social media, but also through traditional media as well.

00:20:47.320 Nobody needs to know.

00:20:49.240 No, no one needs to know if you hate your mother or if you're having problems with your son.

00:20:53.640 Uh, no one needs to know that.

00:20:54.940 Okay.

00:20:58.000 Number five.

00:20:59.880 Let's see.

00:21:01.520 Yeah, I think we're on five, right?

00:21:02.600 Okay.

00:21:02.840 Finally, as we wait for the polls to close, I've looked at a lot of the early voting numbers and the exit polls myself.

00:21:09.960 Um, and I wanted to show you a few maps that I drew up just based on how I ran the numbers.

00:21:15.700 I thought this would be interesting to do, and I haven't really given my predictions, but I wanted to do that now.

00:21:20.600 So, so first of all, this to me is the most plausible scenario.

00:21:23.320 And I'm going to say right now, this is my official 2020 prediction.

00:21:26.560 And you can look at the map here.

00:21:27.760 I've got Kanye West winning 286 electoral votes and becoming our next president.

00:21:34.980 Um, as you can see there, Kanye takes California, Texas, Florida.

00:21:37.540 Biden takes PA.

00:21:39.480 Trump does, does pull out a victory in Minnesota.

00:21:42.400 This, I would say is the most likely scenario.

00:21:44.580 Uh, and I think we can all agree that that if it does happen, it'd be pretty great.

00:21:48.580 Let me show you, let me, let me show you the, my, my nightmare scenario.

00:21:51.420 You know, and, uh, I can't rule this out.

00:21:53.980 Here's the map right here.

00:21:57.540 As you can see, the whole country has turned into an emoji.

00:22:00.640 Um, this again, for me is the nightmare.

00:22:02.660 Montana and Minnesota are the eyes.

00:22:05.600 South Dakota is the nose. 0.52

00:22:07.100 Then you got the mouth there.

00:22:08.460 Smiley face.

00:22:10.260 Horrifying.

00:22:11.260 Um, but a possible outcome.

00:22:13.260 And I'm a little worried about this also.

00:22:15.120 Uh, this is kind of a horse.

00:22:16.200 As you can see, Washington is the head.

00:22:18.320 Idaho's the main, that could be a horse or a giraffe.

00:22:21.560 I don't know, but this is a concern.

00:22:24.260 So we just don't know how it's going to end up at this point.

00:22:26.200 Um, or what the picture, what, what picture of the country will ultimately draw, but we'll

00:22:29.880 know soon, hopefully.

00:22:31.840 And this is the kind of analysis that you get from this show.

00:22:37.340 Everyone else is doing serious election analysis and predictions.

00:22:40.200 And I'm over here like, look, mommy, I drew a horsey.

00:22:44.300 That's, that's me.

00:22:45.160 That's, that's the kind of political pundit I am.

00:22:47.300 What else did you expect?

00:22:48.600 Really?

00:22:49.500 If you're looking for intelligent political analysis, I don't know why you came to me

00:22:53.120 in the first place.

00:22:54.320 Speaking of intelligent political analysis, I can tell you where you can get it.

00:23:45.140 All right, let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:23:47.620 Now for our daily cancellation today, I know this isn't the issue that is most important

00:23:51.960 to people right now, but it's important nonetheless.

00:23:55.240 That's why today I'm canceling daylight savings.

00:23:57.540 See what happens every time we fall back as we did on Sunday is that I have to listen

00:24:03.440 to a bunch of people talk about how great it is to get an extra hour of sleep.

00:24:07.740 But I always know that those people are not the parents of young children because any parent

00:24:12.120 of a young child knows that kids don't follow daylight savings.

00:24:15.780 They don't care what the clock says.

00:24:17.320 So you push the clock back.

00:24:18.920 All that means is that now we're waking up an hour before the crack of dawn instead of waking

00:24:23.220 up at the crack of dawn like normal.

00:24:24.640 Um, my kids have been waking up at 4.30, 4.30 ever since daylight savings ended.

00:24:34.660 Admittedly, our situation is compounded by the fact that we moved to Tennessee and went,

00:24:37.840 went, went, went back an hour that we moved back another hour from daily savings.

00:24:41.880 So my kid's biological clock is still two hours in advance of what the clock says, which makes

00:24:46.900 it harder when I have to listen to all of these privileged, well-rested people go, oh man,

00:24:51.760 so great to get an extra hour of sleep. Refreshing. Really? Is it great? Is it refreshing? That's

00:24:58.580 good. Tell me more about that. Tell me more about how great it is. I haven't slept since,

00:25:02.980 I have not slept past 6.30 in seven years. So tell me more about waking up at 9 a.m. I'd love to

00:25:09.120 hear it. I'm so happy for you. And we're being put through this for no reason. Daylight savings

00:25:15.480 is totally arbitrary and pointless. I remember in school, they told us that, you know, we do daylight

00:25:20.860 savings for the farmers, right? But this is just one of the many random things they lie about in

00:25:26.100 school for no reason. It actually has nothing at all to do with farmers. Why would it? How would

00:25:31.140 it help farmers for us to randomly move our clocks forward and then back? They have to be up early to

00:25:36.760 milk the cows regardless. Cows aren't going to adjust their schedule any more than my kids will. 1.00

00:25:41.580 So neither will their crops. So this was not done for farmers. Do you know why it was actually done?

00:25:47.900 I bet you didn't know this. It was done so that a New Zealand bug collector could have more time to

00:25:54.080 collect bugs. That's true, I think. That's what I read on Wikipedia anyway, five seconds ago. A guy

00:26:00.680 named George Hudson in 1895 decided that he wanted more time after work to look at beetles or whatever. So

00:26:06.820 he proposed that we move the clocks forward and pretend that it's later than it really is.

00:26:13.280 And everybody was like, okay, sounds good. And we all agreed to just pretend that time had shifted

00:26:18.780 so that this freak could play with his bugs. Now, I may be condensing things a little bit.

00:26:24.400 Daylight savings wasn't actually adopted nationwide in our country until 1966 with the Uniform Time Act

00:26:30.840 when the president signed a law simply declaring that the time will move forth and then back.

00:26:39.020 Or that we almost pretend that it moved. Think about how crazy that is. It's like a law that says

00:26:43.540 that we all have to speak in pig Latin on Tuesdays or wear yellow pants and hop up and down for 14

00:26:48.960 seconds every third day. But it's worse than that because we're trying to move time itself. We're

00:26:53.820 trying to manipulate actual dimensions of reality and not even in a cool or interesting way. I mean,

00:26:59.280 if we're going to do this, why don't we all decide that March doesn't exist? Just wipe March off the

00:27:05.200 calendar. That way we get to the summer faster. We could pass a law and call it the March Erasure

00:27:10.840 Act of 2021. And from henceforth, there's no March. If you had a birthday in March, you no longer exist

00:27:17.680 legally. So you will be killed. We could talk about that part of it, but you get the idea. Or here's 1.00

00:27:23.980 something better. Let's turn Thursday into Friday, Friday into Saturday, and then we can give ourselves

00:27:28.380 two Sundays, thereby creating a four-day weekend. Or we could get rid of time, days, months, and years

00:27:34.280 completely. And instead, you know, your age will be judged based on the number of pigeons you've seen

00:27:39.940 in your life. So a person who lives in the city might be 6,000 pigeons old, while someone in a

00:27:46.840 pigeon-less area might be three or even zero. You know, we could do this. We could move time forward

00:27:53.960 and back. We can do this too. Or the alternative, we could just let the time be the time. Let the

00:28:01.240 clocks run. Stop playing God. Stop tormenting parents with young children and live our lives

00:28:07.380 with clocks that operate consistently, not arbitrarily. This is something to think about

00:28:12.540 as you vote today. Or I guess not, because no candidate has made it an issue, sadly. Maybe next

00:28:18.000 cycle. But I believe there is just no good argument anymore for daylight savings. The only argument for

00:28:27.360 daylight savings is just that it's what we do. That's the only argument. If you've ever talked

00:28:31.440 about this with someone and someone defends daylight savings, their entire argument is just, yeah, but

00:28:36.180 you know, this is just what we do now. Okay, well, let's stop doing it. The bug collector has

00:28:43.620 tormented us for over a hundred years. Let us free ourselves from this maniac once and for all.

00:28:52.420 That is my final message to you on this election day. And remember, again, to tune in very soon,

00:28:59.560 dailywire.com, as we're going to have election coverage. It might get a little bumpy tonight and

00:29:05.160 into tomorrow, but we'll see. Pray for our country. Godspeed.
