The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 616 - Selfish Babies

00:00:00.000 Today on The Matt Walsh Show, a restaurant owner in Los Angeles has her business shut down,

00:00:03.940 even as a Hollywood studio is setting up catering tents literally right next door.

00:00:08.940 Meanwhile, actors on SNL and talking heads on CNN lecture

00:00:12.240 lockdown protesters for being selfish, quote, babies.

00:00:16.020 But we'll talk about who the real selfish babies are here. 0.75

00:00:18.940 And five headlines, including the Chicago Teachers Union speaking of selfish babies,

00:00:22.120 claiming that it's racist and sexist to open schools again.

00:00:26.020 And a doctor in Oregon has his license revoked for criticizing masks.

00:00:29.660 Plus, your daily cancellation and much more coming up today on The Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:41.320 Before we get going today, you know, especially as we get into the holidays,

00:00:44.740 we're all doing probably some shopping and you're out spending a lot of money at a lot of different companies.

00:00:51.120 And the fact is, a lot of those companies don't support you or your values.

00:00:55.180 And that's a problem we run into as conservatives in the culture.

00:00:57.860 And that's why when we find a company that really supports us and shares the same values,

00:01:01.520 it's important for us to support them because it's really a win-win situation.

00:01:04.960 And that's where Charity Mobile comes in.

00:01:07.480 That's the pro-life phone company I'm always telling you guys about.

00:01:09.640 There's a reason for it because 5% of your monthly plan price goes to the pro-life,

00:01:13.760 pro-family charity of your choice.

00:01:15.500 And on top of the great charity that they're doing, it's also a wonderful service.

00:01:19.400 New activations and eligible accounts get a free cell phone with free activation and free shipping.

00:01:22.900 There's no contract, there's no termination fees, there's no risk with the 30-day guarantee,

00:01:27.240 which means, you know, they're not trying to suck you into something you can't get out of it.

00:01:30.560 And you won't want to get out of it because it's just a great service.

00:01:33.100 Live customer service based right in the USA if you ever have a problem and need to talk to somebody.

00:01:37.900 And also, you can block, you know, picture messages, cellular data, text messages.

00:01:42.340 You can control your child's phone.

00:01:45.100 You can protect your kid that way, which is also really important.

00:01:47.440 And free usage alerts to keep track of how much data you're using and all kinds of other stuff.

00:01:53.060 There's a free app to monitor your usage, pay your bill, much more, which just makes everything a lot easier as well.

00:01:59.540 So, you can help build a culture of life in America while supporting a pro-life company at the same time.

00:02:05.080 Like I said, we're talking the ultimate win-win situation.

00:02:08.060 What you got to do is call Charity Mobile at 1-877-474-3662 or chat with them online at charitymobile.com.

00:02:16.660 So, a couple of days ago, a restaurant owner in Los Angeles named Angela Marsden recorded a video with her honest and raw emotional,

00:02:25.100 understandably emotional reaction to her city shutdown order.

00:02:28.060 She, like so many restaurant owners in the area and elsewhere in the country, had the rug pulled out from under them 0.96

00:02:33.680 when, you know, she spent lots of time and money setting up an outdoor dining area only to be told that outdoor dining would be banned. 1.00

00:02:40.640 There's, of course, no coherent reason to ban outdoor dining.

00:02:44.340 Well, there is no good and coherent reason.

00:02:46.660 The actual reason is that politicians want to flex their muscles, grab more power, tighten their control over the population.

00:02:53.000 That's plenty coherent.

00:02:54.720 I mean, it makes sense, but it isn't very good.

00:02:56.820 At least it's not morally, ethically, or constitutionally good.

00:02:59.800 In any case, Angela Marsden's video has gone viral for good reason.

00:03:03.620 And if you haven't heard or seen it, we'll play a little bit of it here.

00:03:06.760 Here it is.

00:03:07.320 I'm losing everything.

00:03:10.240 Everything I own is being taken away from me.

00:03:12.540 And they set up a movie company right next to my outdoor patio, which is right over here.

00:03:20.400 And people wonder why I'm protesting and why I have had enough.

00:03:26.800 They have not given us money and they have shut us down.

00:03:30.180 We cannot survive.

00:03:31.240 My staff cannot survive.

00:03:32.540 Look at this.

00:03:35.560 Tell me that this is dangerous.

00:03:39.200 But right next to me, as a slap in my face, that's safe.

00:03:45.480 This is safe?

00:03:47.940 50 feet away?

00:03:50.180 This is dangerous.

00:03:51.760 Mayor Garcetti and Gavin Newsom is responsible for every single person that doesn't have unemployment, that does not have a job, and all the businesses that are going under.

00:04:03.600 And we need your help.

00:04:05.300 We need somebody to do something about this.

00:04:09.100 What you're hearing there, by the way, that is righteous indignation.

00:04:12.500 That is real righteous indignation.

00:04:15.180 Okay?

00:04:15.420 That's what righteous indignation sounds like.

00:04:17.680 It doesn't sound like, you know, a college student claiming that they're being persecuted because they have to pay back their loans.

00:04:23.380 Now, this is someone who's losing everything while Hollywood studios are setting up their tents.

00:04:27.880 Now, if you're wondering, a report in The Independent says that the setup was for caterers for the film crew of the NBC show Good Girls.

00:04:36.520 And this is really neither here nor there, I suppose.

00:04:38.260 But Wikipedia tells me that the series, quote, follows three suburban Michigan mothers, two of whom are sisters, who are having a hard time trying to make ends meet.

00:04:46.120 They're tired of having everything taken away from them, so they decide to pull off an unlikely heist by robbing a supermarket, only to discover that they're in for more than they bargained.

00:04:55.720 I just wanted to read that to you because the fact that exceptions are being made for this vapid, ridiculous television show only highlights the arbitrary cruelty of all this.

00:05:05.280 But obviously, if those tents were for the crew of a good show, what few exist, it still wouldn't be any less outrageous.

00:05:11.240 Either way, Hollywood productions are now considered essential.

00:05:15.720 Essential to whom is the question?

00:05:17.780 They may indeed be essential to the people working on them, but in that sense, all jobs are essential.

00:05:22.280 And that's been my point all along.

00:05:23.620 All jobs are essential because they all have at least one person who depends on them for survival.

00:05:28.540 But are these productions essential in any other sense?

00:05:32.580 Are they essential in a deeper sense than, say, a restaurant or a bar is essential?

00:05:37.940 No, in fact, I'd say that your local restaurant, where the community comes to gather together and share a meal, is far more important to that community than good girls on NBC.

00:05:50.380 Good girls on NBC could disappear from the face of the earth, and nobody except the people working on it would even notice or care. 0.93

00:05:55.840 I didn't even know the show existed until right now.

00:05:58.220 Even the fans of the show would immediately replace it with some other show, not missing a beat or stopping to mourn.

00:06:05.100 But when a favorite local business goes under, as many of them are right now, you feel that loss if you're in the community.

00:06:11.600 It's a sad day.

00:06:12.440 Even 20 years later, you may be driving by the place where the business used to be, and you'll turn to the person in the car with you, and you'll say,

00:06:18.980 I remember there used to be a bar there called So-and-So, and man, I used to love that place, et cetera, et cetera.

00:06:23.960 20 years from now, nobody's going to be talking about good girls on NBC or remembering it fondly.

00:06:31.040 This all simply highlights the injustice that we've been witnessing, and it's one of the great injustices ever perpetrated by the American government on its citizens.

00:06:39.560 That is not hyperbole.

00:06:40.820 The government is arbitrarily wiping out thousands of businesses all at once while allowing the more powerful companies and industries to keep running,

00:06:48.320 and even to, more than that, increase their profits.

00:06:51.680 And all the while, the people having their lives destroyed have to endure the lectures and sneering from the people whose lives have only improved, if anything, during the lockdowns.

00:07:01.500 For example, Pete Davidson, a man who is about as witty and charismatic as a dead tortoise,

00:07:07.640 but who still pulls a paycheck as a professional comedian somehow, was on SNL this weekend to mock the lockdown protesters as nothing but a bunch of babies.

00:07:17.140 Listen.

00:07:18.200 I take it that you found these protests frustrating.

00:07:21.040 Yeah, man, they're making us look like babies.

00:07:23.280 You know, it's bad when even people in Boston are like, ah, drink at home, you queers. 1.00

00:07:27.960 And do you think that people should stay at home until the pandemic gets better?

00:07:34.180 Yeah, everyone wants to go have fun, but there's plenty of stuff you could do at home.

00:07:38.180 Like, use your official Pete Davidson vibrator.

00:07:42.240 Yeah, great jokes there.

00:07:44.240 That's professional comedy.

00:07:46.340 By the way, you know why people don't want to eat and drink outside?

00:07:48.680 Because it's a high of 40 degrees today in New York.

00:07:52.600 That's why restaurants are going to lose their business if they have to send their people outside. 0.53

00:07:56.480 People aren't going to sit and eat and drink at 40 degree temperatures.

00:07:59.480 But anyway, he says, baby.

00:08:01.160 Yeah, baby.

00:08:02.340 Says the 27-year-old man who still looks, acts, and sounds like a 7th grader in after-school detention.

00:08:08.640 A man who, more importantly, has a job, is making money, has not been financially devastated by the lockdowns.

00:08:15.300 It's funny how the people who support the lockdowns and sneer at those who protest and resist the lockdowns

00:08:20.760 are almost always also people who still have jobs.

00:08:23.480 You notice this in the media, too, all the time.

00:08:26.540 Here's a segment that aired on CNN a couple days ago.

00:08:29.340 Listen to this CNN talking head speaking from his studio at his job

00:08:33.180 as he explains why those who are asked to give up their jobs shouldn't complain that much.

00:08:38.440 Listen.

00:08:38.580 What's happening in Los Angeles, I just want to make clear, it's a huge sacrifice he's asking for, but it's not everything.

00:08:45.780 Retail stores are still open.

00:08:48.200 There's a lot of offices still open.

00:08:50.180 Movie television production, which drives the economy out there, it's still happening.

00:08:53.560 He's just asking people to make sensible decisions.

00:08:56.920 And when you look around the world, you see it works.

00:08:59.780 You see what's happened in these European countries where they've instituted measures like this for short periods of time,

00:09:06.520 and it breaks the rise.

00:09:08.420 It just does.

00:09:08.840 Israel's done it like three times.

00:09:10.680 You know, they keep having to do it, but the country is willing to do it by and large.

00:09:15.000 And when they do it, it just stops that incredibly fast rise in cases and hospitalizations.

00:09:21.060 It works.

00:09:22.200 I mean, it works so much they've done it three times.

00:09:24.460 That's how much it works.

00:09:26.060 It works so much they just keep doing it.

00:09:27.720 Yes, it's a big sacrifice, he says.

00:09:33.100 But come on.

00:09:34.680 You know, we can do it.

00:09:35.400 And besides, Walmart's still open.

00:09:37.240 That should be solace to you if you lost your job.

00:09:39.360 It's not the end of the world.

00:09:40.140 What's the problem?

00:09:41.100 It's not everything, he says.

00:09:42.860 You're not being asked to give up everything.

00:09:45.720 Of course, he's being asked to give up nothing.

00:09:48.840 So the guy who's giving up nothing wants you to know that however much you're giving up is not really that much in the grand scheme of things.

00:09:55.220 This is why it pains me so much that the people who push for lockdowns also get to pretend that they're the compassionate and selfless ones.

00:10:04.740 The truth is, whether lockdowns, shutdowns, and masking are the right or wrong approach, and I think they're wrong, obviously, but right or wrong.

00:10:11.660 If you're pushing for them, you are almost certainly pushing for them because you're scared and you want to feel safe.

00:10:20.140 You know, you want other people to do something, to submit to something, to give up something, to give up everything, potentially, for your sake, to protect you.

00:10:29.140 Never is this more clear than when four-year-olds are required to wear masks to walk through a store or get on an airplane.

00:10:35.500 That isn't to protect them.

00:10:37.920 They're not at any significant risk from COVID.

00:10:40.600 They also aren't at any significant risk to spread COVID.

00:10:43.180 Yet we want them muzzled, we the adults, so that we feel safer around them. 0.84

00:10:49.200 And that guy on CNN or Pete Davidson, they want the bars to stay shut and businesses to close down so that they can be safe.

00:10:56.720 They are asking other people to make a sacrifice for them.

00:11:01.000 Call that whatever you want to call it, but don't call it compassion, don't call it courage, don't call it selflessness.

00:11:07.340 It's exactly the opposite.

00:11:09.580 It is cowardice and fear.

00:11:12.100 And that's what we should call it.

00:11:15.020 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:11:22.360 By the way, not to brag, but on a lighter note, I did finish my Christmas shopping already.

00:11:31.980 Pretty incredible.

00:11:33.260 I've got a big extended family, plus four kids.

00:11:36.520 And I managed to get it all done three weeks before Christmas.

00:11:40.440 And when I say I, I mean my wife.

00:11:43.420 My wife got it all done, I think.

00:11:45.920 Or she will.

00:11:47.040 But I got her her gift, and that's my only job around the holidays.

00:11:50.300 And my only point here is that, this is all I'm saying, because the holidays can be stressful.

00:11:54.820 But what I would recommend if you're a man and you're stressed around the holidays, get married.

00:11:59.180 So if you're right now, and you're three weeks from Christmas, and you're a single guy, you're stressed about the holidays, just run out and get married real quick.

00:12:05.120 And that'll take care of it.

00:12:06.800 It is really stress-free to be a man during the holidays.

00:12:11.480 I can't recommend it enough.

00:12:13.440 I love it.

00:12:13.700 And then the great thing is, here's what makes it fun, is that when everyone's opening their gifts on Christmas, I get to find out what I gave them.

00:12:24.840 You know, so it's always a nice surprise.

00:12:28.700 I also find out what I bought for myself.

00:12:31.500 And it just, it makes the whole experience great.

00:12:33.560 And it's really, it's really wonderful.

00:12:37.160 Cannot recommend marriage enough for many reasons.

00:12:39.700 That's just one of them.

00:12:40.360 It's not the only reason, but that's one of them.

00:12:42.440 All right.

00:12:42.720 What I don't recommend, though, is public schools.

00:12:45.140 And this is just one of the reasons.

00:12:47.800 The Chicago Teachers Union deleted this tweet after backlash.

00:12:51.840 Maybe you could tell why there was backlash.

00:12:54.100 It says, the push to reopen schools is rooted in sexism, racism, and misogyny.

00:13:02.560 No explanation provided for that claim.

00:13:05.420 There never is, is there?

00:13:06.260 I mean, we're at a point now where they just, they don't even try to connect the dots.

00:13:10.760 Whatever I don't like is just racist, sexist.

00:13:13.960 It's all of them.

00:13:14.800 It's not even, you know, it used to be, I feel like, they would at least pick, when I say they, those on the left,

00:13:20.120 they would at least pick one of those.

00:13:22.180 And they would try at least tangentially to connect.

00:13:25.420 They would say, oh, this is racist because, and it would always be a weak reason.

00:13:28.600 But now it's just, they just throw them all at you. 0.95

00:13:31.500 Oh, it's racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic. 0.95

00:13:34.460 Sure. 0.96

00:13:35.780 Why is it that?

00:13:36.720 But it just is.

00:13:37.960 Just is.

00:13:40.740 Admittedly, it does remind me of the arguments I used to make when schools opened up again after a snowstorm.

00:13:46.460 This is back in the days before the internet.

00:13:47.880 So kids today don't know about this, but you would, you know, you gather around the radio.

00:13:53.000 It snowed last night.

00:13:54.220 You wake up, you see the snow.

00:13:55.400 You gather around the radio in the morning, early in the morning, like 6 a.m.

00:13:58.380 You're waiting for the news break.

00:14:00.300 Just waiting to see your, hear your school district.

00:14:04.080 And then they say, you know, your school district opening on time.

00:14:08.660 Absolutely crushing.

00:14:09.480 But I used to shout, this is racism, racism and sexism.

00:14:13.520 I won't stand for it.

00:14:14.760 So that argument didn't really work.

00:14:17.160 But then again, it was okay, you know, for me to hate school as any self-respecting student does.

00:14:22.840 But for the teachers' union to hate school and to have no interest in opening them ever again, it seems, that's a much bigger problem.

00:14:32.860 Though it's not surprising. 0.97

00:14:34.620 And this is why the teachers' union is a blight on the earth, a parasite, especially on education. 0.95

00:14:41.840 And they should all be forcibly abolished, in my view. 0.68

00:14:46.600 There is, there is no, nobody benefits from the teachers' union.

00:14:51.020 Education doesn't benefit from them.

00:14:51.980 The teachers might benefit some of them.

00:14:53.780 Well, a lot, a lot of teachers hate them too.

00:14:56.380 But the education system is supposed to be, forget about who benefits.

00:15:00.600 The education system is supposed to exist for the kids that it educates, that it ostensibly is educating.

00:15:07.720 The teachers' union does nothing for the kids, doesn't even pretend to care about the kids.

00:15:13.820 And that's why teachers' union shouldn't exist, in my view.

00:15:17.700 This is from the Daily Wire.

00:15:18.560 The Oregon Medical Board has indefinitely revoked a doctor's license after finding that he and his staff refused to wear face coverings during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

00:15:26.960 and encouraged patients visiting his clinic to remove theirs, concluding he is a serious danger to public health.

00:15:32.980 The panel voted on Thursday to issue an emergency suspension, determining that Dr. Stephen Latulip, or Latulipi, Latulipi, let's just call Latulipi, engaged in unprofessional conduct or dishonorable conduct.

00:15:47.140 NBC News reports that the punishment comes weeks after the doctor spoke at a Stop the Steal rally outside the state capitol in Salem on November 7th.

00:15:57.140 A video uploaded to the Multnomah County Republicans' YouTube account shows the doctor speaking over a microphone,

00:16:03.780 downplaying coronavirus as a common cold, and condemning mitigation policies ordered by government officials.

00:16:10.220 As NBC News reports, according to the emergency suspension,

00:16:12.780 the doctor in July allegedly told a patient who asked for guidance on when to get tested for the coronavirus

00:16:18.300 that asymptomatic people should not be tested and that wearing a mask does not prevent transmission.

00:16:24.580 Latulip directed the patient not to self-isolate

00:16:27.180 because being around other people would provide immunity from COVID-19, according to the state board's documents.

00:16:33.220 And then he had other sins as well, apparently.

00:16:36.040 Personally, I don't see a lot wrong with what he said there.

00:16:41.340 And, you know, it's interesting because they say,

00:16:43.500 well, all the doctors agree that you should wear a mask.

00:16:47.880 Well, I guess it's easy to make all the doctors agree if the ones who don't agree aren't doctors anymore.

00:16:53.220 So they say, all the doctors agree.

00:16:54.540 And then you say, well, this doctor over here doesn't agree.

00:16:57.080 Oh, him. Yeah.

00:16:57.780 Well, he's that.

00:16:58.280 We'll take his license.

00:16:58.880 He's not a doctor anymore.

00:16:59.840 He doesn't count.

00:17:00.340 My main question, though, we talk about revoking licenses from doctors.

00:17:08.080 I'm a fan of that.

00:17:10.420 I think we should be doing that.

00:17:11.940 But not for this.

00:17:14.600 How about revoking licenses from doctors who, I don't know, put healthy kids on hormone pills?

00:17:20.640 You know, put a 10-year-old on a puberty blocker?

00:17:23.640 Maybe that.

00:17:24.380 Maybe revoke a license of a doctor who puts children on psychotropic drugs because they're having trouble paying attention in school?

00:17:35.540 And as a side note, you know, you have to wonder how many more kids are being put on.

00:17:41.520 This is my guess, my bets, my prediction for the future is that we're going to find out that there was a mysterious rise in ADHD during the coronavirus.

00:17:52.300 Maybe ADHD is a side effect, a symptom of coronavirus, because I would bet you right now, we're going to get a report.

00:18:00.480 There was a huge rise in ADHD, a lot more kids on the medicine.

00:18:04.280 Why?

00:18:04.840 Because somehow they're having trouble sitting in their computers and staring at a computer all day as a form of education.

00:18:11.680 So maybe revoke the licenses from doctors who do that.

00:18:16.140 That would be my suggestion.

00:18:17.980 Number three, 60 Minutes, about 30 years behind the times, apparently ran a segment this weekend talking about some of the issues with Title IX.

00:18:27.920 And here it is. Listen to this.

00:18:30.360 Minnesota insists that financial pressure isn't the only reason sports are being dropped.

00:18:35.700 It also cites Title IX, the federal law that requires schools to match the gender makeup of their student bodies in their sports teams.

00:18:44.400 So if 54% of students are women, 54% of athletes should be too. 0.99

00:18:51.160 To get to that balance, schools often choose to cut men's sports rather than create new ones for women. 0.95

00:18:58.380 Title IX is often the scapegoat when universities cut teams.

00:19:03.360 Again, it's to protect the core business, which is football, but you can kind of use this gender justice shield to kind of throw men's non-revenue sports under the bus. 0.96

00:19:16.860 Football is often what gets universities in trouble with Title IX in the first place.

00:19:21.460 Minnesota has 115 men on its football roster, which means it needs 115 female athletes just to balance that single sport. 1.00

00:19:32.840 Yeah, like I said, about 30 years behind the times, but it's glad they're finally catching on.

00:19:36.700 Of course, this is a total travesty. 0.98

00:19:38.900 I mean, it's completely ridiculous. 0.97

00:19:40.780 You have 150 men on a sport means you have to have 150 women. 0.99

00:19:43.720 Why?

00:19:45.220 Why?

00:19:46.060 Who?

00:19:46.540 Says who? 0.65

00:19:47.760 Well, I know who says it, but why?

00:19:49.120 What's the reason?

00:19:53.060 I'll tell you the real reason why there aren't as many women playing sports. 1.00

00:19:57.280 It's just because, and not as many people interested in women.

00:20:00.540 Not as many women want to play sports. 1.00

00:20:03.180 A lot more men want to play sports.

00:20:05.760 Also, men are better at playing sports, most sports anyway. 0.64

00:20:10.280 And so it's more fun to watch them.

00:20:13.420 Why do more people watch men's basketball over women's basketball? 0.89

00:20:16.240 Because men are better at it. 0.98

00:20:17.440 And so it's just a lot more fun to watch.

00:20:19.680 It's a lot more fun to watch basketball where people can touch the rim.

00:20:23.300 That's the reality.

00:20:25.180 It might hurt your feelings.

00:20:26.820 It might not.

00:20:27.200 I don't care.

00:20:27.700 It's just a simple reality.

00:20:31.320 This idea that everything has to be equal.

00:20:34.220 You know, I raise my kids.

00:20:35.420 I mean, this is something, and every parent you go through this with my kids.

00:20:39.800 Especially the twins.

00:20:41.920 And all kids do this.

00:20:43.680 They're constantly insisting that everything has to be equal.

00:20:46.180 Oh, he has 16 Cheez-Its in his bowl that you gave him, and I only have 13.

00:20:52.600 I need three more Cheez-Its.

00:20:55.440 Well, with that, I'm impressed, because that's good math.

00:20:57.460 And then I might reward you for doing the math.

00:20:59.680 But in principle, the message from parents is not everything's going to be equal all the time.

00:21:04.960 You've got to get over it.

00:21:05.680 You've got to grow up.

00:21:07.080 That's not the way life works.

00:21:09.140 Sometimes someone gets a little more Cheez-Its than you do.

00:21:11.440 That's life.

00:21:12.100 Move on.

00:21:13.560 So that's the message that, anyway, that competent parents, or people who at least are trying to be competent parents,

00:21:18.460 that's the message we give our kids.

00:21:19.680 Then they go out into society, and they're told, I don't know, everything has to be exactly the equal.

00:21:24.700 You've got 150 men playing a sport.

00:21:27.220 You've got to have 150 women. 1.00

00:21:31.040 This idea of equality is one of the worst things that's happened to Western civilization.

00:21:40.640 I'd put it that way.

00:21:42.880 I'll tell you, equality exists, really, in two realms.

00:21:46.080 Equality exists as a sort of mathematical concept.

00:21:49.680 You know, two plus two equals four.

00:21:53.580 The same as.

00:21:55.200 So we could talk about equality when we're talking about mathematical, when we're in the realm of math.

00:22:03.280 And then we can also talk about equality when we're talking about the inherent dignity and worth of human beings.

00:22:10.440 And that's what's meant in our founding documents, when our founding fathers talked about equality.

00:22:16.640 That's what they meant, that all people have the same inherent worth.

00:22:21.400 But that's it.

00:22:22.900 As far as equality among people, that's as far as it goes.

00:22:26.840 You have the same inherent worth as anybody else.

00:22:28.800 There's no one out there who's more of a person than you.

00:22:32.120 But that's what is meant by it.

00:22:34.000 So a really good example of what happens when people don't have equality, you have unborn babies who are killed a million a year.

00:22:42.000 Sixty million babies just slaughtered and thrown into the dumpster out back, the medical waste dumpster, or sold for parts by Planned Parenthood.

00:22:50.640 That's what happens when we're not recognizing the inherent worth of a human being.

00:22:55.500 And we're saying that, oh, well, they're not like as people-y as we are.

00:22:59.080 We're a little bit more person than them.

00:23:02.280 So when people don't have that kind of equality, that's very bad and horrible things happen all throughout history.

00:23:07.000 But once we've established that, that's it.

00:23:10.460 That's as far as equality goes.

00:23:13.160 Men and women have the same inherent worth and dignity.

00:23:16.780 Great.

00:23:18.760 That's it with equality.

00:23:20.440 We can put equality on the shelf now.

00:23:21.960 Once we've established that with men and women, we can put equality on the shelf.

00:23:25.320 We've got that covered.

00:23:26.780 There is no more equality.

00:23:28.380 Men and women are not equal in any other sense except for that. 0.50

00:23:32.480 And any attempt to make them equal in any sense except that really basic and really spiritual sense will lead to absurdities at best. 0.98

00:23:42.100 Because the reality is, whether, you know, man, woman, whoever, you sitting there watching this, me sitting right here, you know, as for me, every single, every person in this building right now, they are either smarter than me or dumber than me.

00:24:00.280 They're stronger, they're weaker, like, we are not equal in any way, for better or worse, from where I'm sitting.

00:24:10.760 It's just the way it goes.

00:24:11.720 You've got to get used to it.

00:24:13.680 Or apparently you don't have to get used to it.

00:24:15.120 That's the problem.

00:24:16.180 You know, this message that we give kids all the time.

00:24:18.920 We've got society working against us.

00:24:20.600 Because we're always telling kids, you know, you need to get into the real world and you just got to deal with these things.

00:24:26.940 But then the real world comes along and says, I don't know, they don't have to deal with it.

00:24:30.280 We're going to keep the delusion going.

00:24:32.740 We want your kids to remain kids forever.

00:24:36.380 Not in a good way, by the way, of, like, protecting their innocence.

00:24:38.820 No, no, no.

00:24:39.200 Because we're going to make sure they see pornography at the age of eight. 0.94

00:24:42.940 But so, you know, in that sense, we're going to take their innocence away from them.

00:24:45.440 But in the sense of their emotional maturity, well, you know, no, that we want them to be childlike forever.

00:24:54.560 All right.

00:24:55.360 Where are we?

00:24:56.300 Number four.

00:24:56.800 Okay, here are some guys on TikTok. 0.58

00:24:58.520 They call themselves the good liars.

00:25:00.600 I don't know who they are or what they are.

00:25:02.140 But they went to a Trump event literally begging people to wear masks.

00:25:07.220 Speaking of having no emotional maturity, as in on one knee begging.

00:25:11.720 Listen.

00:25:12.760 You guys got masks?

00:25:14.620 No?

00:25:15.140 No.

00:25:16.280 Don't want one.

00:25:17.140 Why not?

00:25:17.840 Because I don't need it.

00:25:18.540 I don't accept.

00:25:19.580 Why?

00:25:19.860 Do you need it?

00:25:21.000 Yeah, you should wear one because there's a global pandemic going on.

00:25:24.440 Is there?

00:25:24.940 Yeah.

00:25:25.340 Well, you got yours.

00:25:26.440 I got mine on.

00:25:27.320 Yeah, I'm trying to be safe.

00:25:28.420 Okay.

00:25:29.060 But you could infect somebody else and they could get sick.

00:25:32.200 Why don't you leave them alive?

00:25:34.220 Will you please wear a mask?

00:25:36.620 Excuse me?

00:25:37.220 Will you please wear a mask?

00:25:38.220 No.

00:25:38.900 Please.

00:25:39.400 Nope.

00:25:39.900 For the sake of other people, please wear one.

00:25:41.740 Please.

00:25:42.100 I'm begging you.

00:25:42.620 Please.

00:25:43.680 Yeah, on his knee begging.

00:25:44.960 I think he needs to get on his knee to his doctor and beg for some testosterone supplements.

00:25:51.160 I think that's more what this guy needs.

00:25:55.000 But yeah, if you're really worried about a virus, you're super worried about it, what

00:26:00.140 are you going to do?

00:26:00.640 Apparently, you're going to go to a rally with thousands of people and record a TikTok

00:26:05.360 video.

00:26:06.300 Yeah, that's what you do if you're really worried about the virus, right?

00:26:09.340 You use it as an opportunity to get shares or whatever.

00:26:13.680 Do they have shares on TikTok?

00:26:14.920 I don't know.

00:26:15.340 What do they do?

00:26:15.760 All right.

00:26:19.000 Finally, the governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, had a message for Representative Matt Gaetz

00:26:24.100 after seeing images of the congressman at an event in New Jersey without a mask on.

00:26:30.720 The governor was very upset about it, and this is what he had to say.

00:26:34.380 That guy in the middle, the tall, handsome fellow in the gray suit, that is Representative

00:26:39.780 Matt Putz.

00:26:40.980 Sorry, Matt Gaetz.

00:26:42.660 And based on his past performances, it is obvious being a knucklehead is not beyond the

00:26:48.600 pale for him.

00:26:49.640 He was actually Sarah Palin's backup act for this event.

00:26:52.860 Now, if you go to the next kind of a scene, that's Matt again earlier this year, kind

00:26:58.800 of a scene out of Dr. Strangelove. 0.99

00:27:02.020 What a fool. 1.00

00:27:03.700 He and they should be ashamed of themselves. 1.00

00:27:06.080 He is not welcome.

00:27:07.080 I hope you're watching, Matt.

00:27:08.140 You are not welcome in New Jersey, and frankly, I don't ever want you back in this state.

00:27:13.000 Not welcome in New Jersey.

00:27:15.360 Banned from New Jersey.

00:27:16.320 You know, that's like if you're walking on the sidewalk and a hobo comes out from under

00:27:22.120 his tent under the highway overpass and says, you're not welcome in my tent.

00:27:27.540 You hear me?

00:27:28.540 You're banned from the tent.

00:27:31.740 It's supposed to be a threat, but it doesn't really work that way.

00:27:35.060 I would love to be banned from New Jersey.

00:27:37.120 Every time I have to drive through New Jersey, now that I live in Tennessee, hopefully I'm

00:27:41.020 further away.

00:27:41.920 That's one of the great things about farther away from New Jersey.

00:27:43.820 It's one of the best things about Tennessee.

00:27:45.280 Tennessee's got a lot going for it.

00:27:47.120 One of the best things is it's farther away from New Jersey.

00:27:50.140 But I used to have to drive through it all the time.

00:27:51.900 It's just an absolute dump.

00:27:53.520 It really is. 0.86

00:27:54.400 No offense if you live there, but it is a dump, and it smells the whole way through.

00:28:00.760 My God.

00:28:01.960 I would love it if I were told you.

00:28:04.300 That's one of the great honors, I think, that could be bestowed upon a man, is to be

00:28:09.240 told you're not welcome in New Jersey.

00:28:11.800 Other than that, a really lovely state, though, with a lot of great people.

00:28:15.600 Before we get to the daily cancellation, you know, a lot of people, everyone's busy.

00:28:19.720 We're all busier than we should be.

00:28:21.360 And I know for me, especially having just moved, and if you've moved, you know what

00:28:25.340 that's like.

00:28:26.000 It takes a long time to settle back into your routine.

00:28:29.240 And what I've found is that I'm usually a big reader, but I've found that I don't have

00:28:33.920 the same time to read that I used to, which is why I love thinker.org.

00:28:38.840 You know, what thinker.org does is they summarize the key ideas from new and noteworthy nonfiction,

00:28:43.500 giving you access to an entire library of great books in bite-sized form.

00:28:47.380 And what this means is that, you know, there's just, even if you've got all the time in the

00:28:50.860 world, you could have every day, you could be a multimillionaire retired at the age of

00:28:55.680 35 living on a beach.

00:28:57.220 You're still not going to have time to read and get all the insights from all these books.

00:29:01.420 It's just, there's not enough hours in the day.

00:29:03.400 So even then, even if you're the millionaire on the beach, I would still say get thinker.org.

00:29:07.300 Or if you're just a normal person, then even more.

00:29:10.660 So I think we're the ones who need it most of all.

00:29:13.160 Hundreds of titles in a matter of minutes from old classics like Dale Carnegie's How to

00:29:17.420 Win Friends and Influence People to recent bestsellers like Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules

00:29:20.680 for Life.

00:29:21.020 I know a lot of people have used thinker.org for that.

00:29:24.400 Thinker.org offers a large variety of titles across many categories.

00:29:27.840 They've got current affairs, relationships, business, education, history.

00:29:33.640 Maybe if there's a subject you're not very strong in and you have trouble consuming an

00:29:37.900 entire book, then go there.

00:29:39.420 Or if it's a subject you just love, then that's even more reason to check out those books.

00:29:43.260 If you want to challenge your preconceptions, expand your horizons, become a better thinker,

00:29:47.040 go to thinker.org.

00:29:48.280 That's T-H-I-N-K-R.org to start a free trial and download the app today.

00:29:53.500 Let them know you heard about them on the Matt Wall Show.

00:29:55.620 That's thinker.org.

00:29:56.940 Also, we've been telling you about Daily Wire membership.

00:30:03.580 And if you are not a Daily Wire member yet, then you want to take advantage and become

00:30:08.860 a Daily Wire member, especially because you see we got these brand new tumblers, new and

00:30:13.660 improved.

00:30:14.100 These things, I mean, I thought before it was the most beautiful thing my eyes had ever

00:30:17.560 seen.

00:30:19.000 I mean, except for my kids and my wife.

00:30:21.920 Close second was the tumbler, but then they revamped it.

00:30:25.340 And honestly, it might be number one.

00:30:27.460 The tumbler might be number one now.

00:30:29.420 Might be the greatest thing the world has ever known.

00:30:33.580 I don't know.

00:30:34.160 But you can get a tumbler if you become a Daily Wire member, along with a lot of other things

00:30:39.280 as well.

00:30:39.640 Because as we get into the new year and even before that, we're adding a whole bunch of

00:30:43.220 content.

00:30:43.600 The Michael Knowles show is now five days a week.

00:30:46.000 We're adding the entire PragerU catalog to DailyWire.com by the end of the year.

00:30:51.960 Right now, you already can find they got their five minute videos up on the website.

00:30:55.400 Candace Owens show from PragerU is there.

00:30:57.660 But pretty soon, the entire catalog will be there.

00:30:59.660 Speaking of Candace Owens, she's joining the Daily Wire and she'll be here in Nashville

00:31:03.400 with a live show pretty soon.

00:31:05.440 So you want to become a Daily Wire member before that happens.

00:31:07.640 So go to DailyWire.com slash subscribe.

00:31:11.040 We're loud.

00:31:11.560 We're opinionated.

00:31:12.600 And we're having a good time.

00:31:14.720 And a lot of people had a good time with those.

00:31:17.360 I mentioned on Friday, those sweatshirts.

00:31:19.800 Insert woke slogan here, sweatshirts.

00:31:22.320 Those are gone.

00:31:23.180 Those went, those, those were scooped up in like a day.

00:31:26.400 I like to think because I'm the one who mentioned them.

00:31:28.380 I'll give myself all the credit for that.

00:31:31.000 But you know what has not been all scooped up yet are the Daily Wire Christmas tree ornaments.

00:31:36.500 Somehow these things are still available.

00:31:40.320 Um, it's not because nobody wants them.

00:31:43.760 It might be sort of because of that, but it's, but really it's just, there's, there are so

00:31:47.800 many of them.

00:31:48.240 We wanted to make sure that everyone has a chance to buy one of these adorable Christmas,

00:31:53.080 uh, ornaments.

00:31:54.540 All the Daily Wire guys were all adorable Christmas elves.

00:31:57.160 As you know, you know, fulfilling a lifelong dream of my own.

00:32:00.200 So please buy these things so I don't have to talk about them anymore.

00:32:03.400 Text Christmas to 83400 to get your tree decorated.

00:32:07.600 And if you, if you want me to stop talking about them as much as I want to stop talking

00:32:10.520 about them, then buy them. 0.99

00:32:12.200 Damn it. 0.99

00:32:14.080 83400 text Christmas now. 0.99

00:32:17.000 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:32:22.480 Well, today we're canceling aside from New Jersey, uh, one of the great villain groups

00:32:26.320 in modern society, in my opinion.

00:32:28.060 And that would be people who take pictures of strangers in public to shame them.

00:32:32.500 This has become, I'm sure you've noticed an epidemic.

00:32:34.420 Every day I go on Twitter or Facebook and there's some post featuring, you know, a photograph

00:32:39.300 of some unsuspecting stranger doing something actually or supposedly rude, captured and posted

00:32:44.940 for public viewing by some sniveling tattletale.

00:32:47.840 The epidemic has grown in severity over the past few months with the advent of the mask

00:32:51.840 wars.

00:32:52.680 Now, if you see someone out at the grocery store without a mask on, you can hide behind

00:32:57.040 the Doritos end caps, snap a photo.

00:32:59.120 So I'm, I'm motioning like an old fashioned photo that you would have like an old fashioned,

00:33:03.460 uh, uh, you know, camera.

00:33:04.600 You can post it to Twitter with a, with a caption like no mask at Kroger unacceptable.

00:33:09.520 Maybe tag the Kroger account, try to get the management of your local branch in trouble

00:33:13.060 while you're at it.

00:33:13.660 Why not?

00:33:14.080 You're on a roll.

00:33:15.080 You were supposed to just be running to the store for coffee filters and laundry detergent.

00:33:19.240 Now you've decided to throw a little public humiliation of your fellow man into the

00:33:23.120 cart.

00:33:23.320 Kind of an impulse buy, you might say, but really nowhere is this behavior more common

00:33:29.060 than at airports.

00:33:31.120 You know, if you've ever done anything, even slightly uncouth at an airport, you can bet

00:33:35.700 that there was a snitch in the terminal or on the plane who had the incident saved to

00:33:39.500 their camera roll and posted to Twitter at lightning speed.

00:33:43.140 It's amazing that everyone carries these high powered cameras around in their pockets and

00:33:47.460 still nobody's captured a good image of a Yeti or a UFO.

00:33:51.540 Yet everyone who had, who had, who's taken their shoes off on a plane at any point in

00:33:55.940 the past seven years has been photographed in high definition.

00:33:59.400 And I'm not defending people who take their shoes off in planes.

00:34:01.800 I'm as disgusted by the sight of unwelcome feet as the next guy, but I'm even more disgusted 0.61

00:34:06.700 by passive aggressive dorks and voyeuristic weirdos who sit meekly and quietly next to someone 0.81

00:34:12.560 while secretly documenting their every action and complaining about them to their gang of 0.96

00:34:17.500 fellow dorks and weirdos on social media, which brings us to the latest example.

00:34:21.540 This is a guy named Michael Pollack.

00:34:23.860 The tweet has since been deleted, but it racked up like 15,000 likes before it was taken down,

00:34:29.520 went viral.

00:34:31.140 It's a picture of a young woman sitting next to him on his flight.

00:34:34.280 And the caption reads, flew on Southwest today, woman across the aisle, coughing her head off,

00:34:40.940 no mask, no seatbelt and using her phone on takeoff.

00:34:45.100 She's also barefoot and wearing pajamas, though he doesn't mention that in the caption.

00:34:48.640 That part was mentioned, though, by many of the thousands of commenters who jumped in to

00:34:52.620 join the shaming, commiserating with poor Michael, sharing their own stories of people who had

00:34:57.860 similarly offended them on flights and elsewhere in life.

00:35:01.000 There were at first, anyway, very few people asking the obvious question, which is, why were

00:35:06.620 you sitting right next to a woman and taking her picture while her back was turned, you

00:35:10.880 creep?

00:35:12.180 Well, we know why.

00:35:13.240 He thought it'd be an opportunity to grab some sweet likes and shares, the food that

00:35:17.840 sustains us all in modern society.

00:35:19.960 And that, of course, is what is driving this epidemic of people taking pictures or filming

00:35:24.360 strangers to shame them.

00:35:25.360 If you're thinking about doing this when you're out in public, if you find yourself

00:35:29.300 tempted, if you see someone doing something rude or annoying and you begin thinking to

00:35:34.380 yourself, I bet I could get 10,000 retweets out of this, just imagine how awkward it would

00:35:39.460 be if the subject of your clandestine photo shoot were to see the post that you put up about

00:35:45.700 them while you're still sitting next to them.

00:35:48.800 Imagine that they happen to stumble across your tweet or Facebook post or whatever it is,

00:35:52.280 notice themselves and then turn to you and say, hey man, did you, uh, did you take a

00:35:57.080 picture of me and post it online?

00:36:00.580 Uh, yeah, I did.

00:36:02.780 I did.

00:36:03.820 Why did you do that?

00:36:05.220 Well, because I'm an awkward, pitiful nerd, I guess.

00:36:07.980 That's why.

00:36:09.760 Here's my suggestion.

00:36:10.680 If you see someone doing something in public that you don't like, there are two very good

00:36:15.320 ways of dealing with it, as far as I can tell.

00:36:17.560 All right.

00:36:18.360 Two options.

00:36:19.560 Option one, ignore it.

00:36:21.260 Carry on with your life.

00:36:23.340 If the behavior doesn't really affect you in any way, this may be an option worth exploring.

00:36:28.720 Option two, confront the person directly.

00:36:31.440 Speak to them, human to human.

00:36:32.880 Assert yourself like a grownup.

00:36:34.400 Use your words.

00:36:35.380 Like I tell my kids, I have nothing but respect for people who do this, even if it's, even if

00:36:40.240 it's for a relatively petty reason.

00:36:42.660 If you're petty and confrontational, I got no problem with you.

00:36:45.400 I think it's great.

00:36:46.980 I mean, I don't like it when I, you know, people get onto airplanes dressed like they're

00:36:52.080 14 year olds at a slumber party, pajamas, bare feet, the whole deal. 0.64

00:36:57.140 I was flying next to a man a few months ago, had himself swaddled in a blanket, was sucking

00:37:01.100 on a pacifier.

00:37:01.880 That's how bad it's gotten.

00:37:03.820 How infantile.

00:37:05.360 I'm exaggerating only slightly.

00:37:07.260 The point is, if you have the gumption to lean over to someone and say to their face,

00:37:12.560 hey, buddy, can you put your shoes on?

00:37:14.220 No offense, but your feet are repulsive.

00:37:16.240 Also, try getting fully dressed before leaving the house next time.

00:37:19.100 You're embarrassing yourself.

00:37:20.840 Okay, anyway, have a nice flight.

00:37:22.620 If you've got the wherewithal to say that to somebody's face, I've got nothing but respect

00:37:26.660 for you.

00:37:26.940 I think this world could use a lot more direct and honest confrontation, not that's being

00:37:32.620 filmed for cameras, but just person to person.

00:37:36.200 Hiding off in a corner, though, and secretly taking pictures is not direct.

00:37:40.180 It's not honest.

00:37:41.160 It's even more childish and emasculated than wearing pajamas in public.

00:37:45.480 So the public shamers and secret picture takers are canceled.

00:37:50.220 This particular guy on the plane is canceled. 0.98

00:37:53.440 I have no problem with people being jerks to each other. 0.97

00:37:56.040 But just to be clear, all I'm saying is do it in person, face-to-face, like a decent 0.98

00:38:03.040 human being.

00:38:04.700 And that's going to do it for us today.

00:38:06.280 Thanks for watching, everybody.

00:38:07.100 Thanks for listening.
