The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 705 - Justice Is Dead

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, as the jury in the Chauvin trial gives the violent mob exactly what it demanded,

00:00:04.840 another police shooting has led to more protests and claims of systemic racism in policing.

00:00:09.340 The problem is that the victim, in this case, quote-unquote victim, was shot while trying to stab someone.

00:00:14.680 So we'll have more on that case and the Chauvin trial today.

00:00:16.800 Also, speaking of the Chauvin case, Nancy Pelosi officially canonizes George Floyd as our culture's new Christ figure.

00:00:22.920 I mean, literally, that's what she did.

00:00:24.240 In our daily cancellation, we'll deal with complaints that a children's cartoon about dogs fails to portray racial diversity.

00:00:32.220 How can you have racial diversity among cartoon dogs?

00:00:34.860 Well, we'll talk, tackle that and much more today on the Matt Wall Show.

00:00:45.320 So I had planned, of course, to begin today talking about the verdict in the Chauvin trial,

00:00:50.240 a verdict that was reached by the jury hours after the President of the United States went on TV and publicly called for a guilty verdict,

00:00:56.980 also shortly after the mayor of the city demanded a conviction,

00:01:00.420 and only a day after one of the most prominent members of Congress flew from D.C. to Minneapolis to inflame the already violent mob.

00:01:06.740 It was a verdict reached by a jury in the same city that had been devastated by riots last year because of this case,

00:01:12.100 and where even worse riots would have happened had they returned anything but the verdict they did return.

00:01:16.840 A verdict reached in a trial that could have been moved to a different city and could have involved the sequestering of the jury for the whole trial,

00:01:22.840 but that, but it wasn't and didn't, even aside from the facts of the case, facts which very clearly amount to reasonable doubt on all charges,

00:01:31.820 in my opinion, rather than a conviction on all charges, which is what the jury decided,

00:01:36.180 but even aside from those facts, the public pressure, the location,

00:01:39.800 the refusal by the judge to take any steps whatsoever to address any of these issues,

00:01:45.720 all of that is enough to call this a fundamentally unfair and unjust trial,

00:01:50.320 and one in which the verdict cannot be trusted.

00:01:53.860 I mean, moving the trial's location and sequestering the jury,

00:01:56.400 these are tools that a judge has in his toolbox.

00:02:00.800 If this trial didn't call for those things,

00:02:03.480 then what trial in history ever has?

00:02:09.480 This is why this is a decision which should be appealed and retried,

00:02:13.000 but it may never get that far because almost everyone in this country,

00:02:17.180 especially in positions of leadership, including in the court system,

00:02:20.400 is too afraid of the mob to do the right thing.

00:02:23.940 There should have been a mistrial declared at various points along the way,

00:02:27.660 but certainly when Maxine Waters showed up and did what she did, 0.98

00:02:30.480 that should have been a mistrial, but courage is in short supply in this country.

00:02:35.940 Though we never needed it more, there's never been so little of it.

00:02:40.320 But as I said, this is the topic that I was going to open the show with.

00:02:42.760 We'll talk more about that later.

00:02:44.880 That was until a new case, a new protest, a new BLM martyr was appointed,

00:02:49.060 right as the guilty verdict in the Chauvin case was read.

00:02:51.820 BLM protesters were descending on Columbus, Ohio,

00:02:55.300 in response to a police shooting that had happened just hours earlier.

00:02:59.260 Now, as we've seen over and over again, the narrative takes shape,

00:03:02.960 solidifies, metastasizes like a cancerous tumor rapidly.

00:03:07.900 I mean, within minutes, within seconds now.

00:03:11.820 And this time, as almost always, the narrative was that the victim,

00:03:17.560 16-year-old Micaiah Bryant, was innocent, unarmed, helpless,

00:03:22.740 not a threat to anyone, and had been gunned down randomly by police.

00:03:26.680 Police showed up and just shot her dead.

00:03:28.400 That's basically what we were told.

00:03:30.460 Activists and media journalists, but I repeat myself,

00:03:33.260 took the words of the supposed witnesses and the supposed victim's family

00:03:36.800 and ran with it as gospel truth, as they always do.

00:03:41.260 Before any other facts, here's the point we're at now.

00:03:44.420 Before any other facts about this case had circulated,

00:03:47.720 already this video clip of Micaiah Bryant's mother,

00:03:50.800 Now, she was out in front of cameras right away, right away, 0.57

00:03:56.820 within minutes, within hours at least.

00:03:59.740 And before we knew anything else, this was the clip making the rounds,

00:04:03.880 and this is what established the narrative.

00:04:06.860 Here's what Micaiah Bryant's mother said. Let's listen.

00:04:10.020 Micaiah was named after a male prophet in the Bible.

00:04:13.660 She was a very loving, peaceful little girl.

00:04:17.760 She was 16 years old. She was an honor roll student.

00:04:21.860 And Micaiah had a motherly nature about her.

00:04:26.900 She promoted peace.

00:04:29.360 And that's something that I want to always be remembered.

00:04:33.260 Loving, motherly, and honor roll student, she promoted peace.

00:04:36.600 That's what her mother says.

00:04:38.440 Her mother, we should note, did not have legal custody of her daughter.

00:04:42.000 Micaiah was in foster care.

00:04:42.940 Even more important to note, the loving and peaceful Micaiah was actually shot by cops

00:04:48.200 while in the process of trying to murder somebody with a knife.

00:04:52.480 The same day as the shooting, only hours after the shooting happened, actually,

00:04:58.660 Columbus police held a press conference, and usually it takes a couple of days.

00:05:03.160 But now we're at a point now where they put the body cam footage out right away.

00:05:08.100 Even that is, it's not quick enough.

00:05:11.020 If you can't get it out within seconds, it's not going to be fast enough

00:05:13.840 to get out in front of the narrative.

00:05:16.940 So this is a few hours later, still not fast enough.

00:05:19.960 But they showed the body cam footage and explained the context of the shooting.

00:05:24.040 And let's watch that now.

00:05:26.200 71 Legion Lane.

00:05:28.660 The information was that a caller said females were there trying to stab them

00:05:32.860 and put their hands on them.

00:05:34.520 Dispatchers tried to obtain information about weapons,

00:05:38.120 but were unable to gather that information.

00:05:41.420 Officers were dispatched at 436 and arrived at 444.

00:05:47.080 We will play the first video in real time.

00:05:49.620 There's the body cam footage.

00:06:14.020 So the cops were called to the scene because someone was trying to stab somebody else.

00:06:20.200 That's all they know.

00:06:21.840 Police officer arrives, sees a woman wielding a large knife.

00:06:26.480 Here's to be a butcher's knife or steak knife that you get from your kitchen.

00:06:29.580 I mean, the point is this is no pocket knife.

00:06:31.420 This is a large knife.

00:06:33.560 The suspect attacks one other woman and pushes her to the ground.

00:06:36.760 And then she goes after someone else, the girl in pink in the body cam footage. 0.84

00:06:41.540 Micaiah pins the girl in pink against the car, raises the knife,

00:06:45.920 and is in the process of trying to stab her

00:06:48.220 when the officer, given no other choice from his perspective, opens fire.

00:06:53.320 Micaiah was not unarmed.

00:06:54.940 She had a knife. 0.96

00:06:56.400 She was not peaceful, at least in that video.

00:06:57.940 She was trying to stab someone. 0.99

00:07:00.040 These details matter.

00:07:01.700 At least they matter to those of us who are honest and rational,

00:07:04.220 though our club is small and losing members by the day.

00:07:08.240 The full facts of the case, as they've now been revealed,

00:07:11.400 facts which absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt,

00:07:15.340 vindicate the police officer and reveal him to be not just justified, but heroic,

00:07:20.640 acting to save someone's life.

00:07:22.820 But of course, that doesn't matter.

00:07:24.040 None of it matters.

00:07:25.280 Still, the cop is accused not just of murder, but of racist murder.

00:07:29.220 This is part of the fact that he was firing,

00:07:30.780 not even to defend himself, but to defend the life of another black girl. 0.99

00:07:35.500 He shot a black girl to stop her from killing another black girl, 0.99

00:07:38.700 and that makes him a homicidal racist? 0.99

00:07:42.240 There's no reasoning with this thinking.

00:07:45.260 Because there's no thinking involved.

00:07:47.820 The left needs, this is what the left needs to know.

00:07:50.080 They need to know only two things, two data points.

00:07:52.880 Did the police kill someone?

00:07:54.600 And was that person black? 0.54

00:07:55.980 If so, it was racism every time without exception.

00:07:59.100 Now, let's really consider the position this officer was in.

00:08:05.020 He's called to the scene. 0.99

00:08:07.320 He finds a black girl trying to gut another black girl with a butcher's knife. 1.00

00:08:12.340 If he shoots, he's racist. 1.00

00:08:14.520 If he doesn't shoot, and the other black girl gets stabbed and killed right in front of him, 1.00

00:08:19.740 he'll be accused of not acting to save the life of that black child. 0.98

00:08:24.020 So, if he saves the black girl's life, then he's guilty of not valuing the assailant's life.

00:08:30.560 If he doesn't save her life, he's guilty of not valuing the victim's life. 0.97

00:08:34.780 And because they're both black, then no matter what he does, 0.97

00:08:37.520 he's not valuing the life of one or the other of the black people involved. 0.98

00:08:42.900 No matter what he does, he loses.

00:08:45.060 No matter what he does.

00:08:46.820 He's already condemned simply for arriving to the scene.

00:08:53.340 The moment he is there wearing that badge, he's done.

00:08:57.840 There's nothing he can do.

00:08:59.820 No option he can avail himself of that would not lead to accusations of racism.

00:09:04.840 Of course, you're always going to get the Monday morning quarterback.

00:09:10.360 Why didn't he use a taser?

00:09:13.360 When someone is in the process, they've got the knife like this,

00:09:18.720 and they're in the process of trying to stab.

00:09:22.720 A taser is by no means guaranteed to stop that from happening. 0.98

00:09:26.600 You could shoot them with a taser, and they're still going to get that stab in. 0.99

00:09:32.120 They could get multiple blows in. 1.00

00:09:34.200 Certainly at least one.

00:09:36.780 A knife that size, a blade that size, just one stab placed in the right place 0.82

00:09:42.880 could very easily kill somebody.

00:09:47.420 So if he had done that, if he had just pulled the taser out,

00:09:50.040 tried to use the taser, and it wasn't enough,

00:09:53.760 and the girl was stabbed to death.

00:09:58.900 Then what would the activists be saying?

00:10:00.440 You know what they'd be saying?

00:10:01.120 They'd be saying, oh, yeah, well, now you use a taser

00:10:04.760 because it's not important enough to you to use lethal force 0.98

00:10:08.240 to save this black child's life. 0.73

00:10:12.260 That's what they would say, and we all know it. 0.98

00:10:15.540 So there's no option, except for one, perhaps.

00:10:20.460 Here's the other option, if you're a cop.

00:10:23.760 Don't take the call.

00:10:25.720 You know, there was some static over the radio.

00:10:27.440 You didn't hear it.

00:10:28.140 Oops, these things happen.

00:10:30.340 Go grab a coffee instead.

00:10:32.020 Stay out of it.

00:10:33.580 Let whatever's going to happen, happen.

00:10:35.540 The other members of the community there,

00:10:38.020 you see them in the video.

00:10:39.840 There appear to be some adults there as well.

00:10:43.280 They don't seem too concerned about these kids' lives anyway.

00:10:46.420 They're just standing around watching,

00:10:47.780 like a knife fight between teenagers is a spectator sport.

00:10:51.520 So let the violence happen.

00:10:53.560 Stay far away from it.

00:10:55.020 If parents don't want to raise their children,

00:10:57.460 if communities don't want to care for themselves,

00:11:00.780 then let them reap what they sow.

00:11:03.820 What we know for sure is that if the cops had done that,

00:11:06.180 if Makai had simply been allowed to stab the other girl to death

00:11:10.520 and no cop was in the vicinity,

00:11:13.000 then we'd never hear a word about it.

00:11:15.220 BLM wouldn't care. 1.00

00:11:16.840 You wouldn't have people in the media weeping and wailing. 0.98

00:11:19.640 Oh no, another black life. 1.00

00:11:20.840 Take it. 0.99

00:11:21.160 I'm so distraught.

00:11:22.000 They wouldn't be saying any of that at all. 0.80

00:11:24.780 They wouldn't say a damn word about it.

00:11:28.360 There'd be no protest, no outrage, no mourning.

00:11:30.380 Because there'd be no political or ideological benefit to any of that.

00:11:36.640 The left needs the cops involved for that.

00:11:40.360 So the real way for the police to avoid the lose-lose situation

00:11:43.540 is to avoid the situation completely.

00:11:46.900 And yet, you know, they still respond to the call.

00:11:51.380 They still show up to the scene.

00:11:53.920 It turns out lots of cops really do care about protecting and serving.

00:11:57.280 Even protecting and serving communities

00:11:59.940 that wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire.

00:12:02.840 In fact, they probably lit the fire.

00:12:05.880 Now, cops aren't superhuman.

00:12:07.540 They aren't superheroes.

00:12:08.480 They aren't perfect.

00:12:09.200 They aren't saints.

00:12:09.900 Nobody is.

00:12:10.420 But I can't imagine why any of them

00:12:13.520 would still be on the job at this point

00:12:16.140 if they didn't at least care about helping and protecting people.

00:12:20.120 Why else would you be there now?

00:12:22.220 What other motivation could you possibly have?

00:12:27.280 Sadly for them, they're doing that job in a culture

00:12:29.960 that doesn't care about justice and truth,

00:12:33.120 doesn't care about the rule of law,

00:12:34.940 doesn't care about human life,

00:12:36.440 except when it can be used.

00:12:40.120 As I talk about all the time,

00:12:42.080 human life in this culture,

00:12:44.500 all human life,

00:12:46.880 black or white,

00:12:48.340 is a commodity.

00:12:50.180 It's something to be used.

00:12:53.920 If you can't use it,

00:12:55.100 then you just throw it away

00:12:56.280 like it doesn't exist.

00:12:58.780 We do that in the womb.

00:13:02.340 We call it,

00:13:03.480 in the womb,

00:13:04.320 if a life is taken in the womb,

00:13:06.860 we call it medical waste.

00:13:08.700 Throw it in a medical waste dumpster 0.81

00:13:10.020 out back of the abortion clinic.

00:13:11.440 So life only has value

00:13:15.360 when it can be used.

00:13:18.900 And when it comes to black lives, 0.96

00:13:21.300 in the city,

00:13:23.220 from the media's perspective

00:13:24.140 and our culture's perspective,

00:13:25.420 they have value

00:13:26.360 after the life has already been taken,

00:13:29.720 if it was taken in a circumstance

00:13:31.640 that's politically advantageous

00:13:32.980 to the cultural powers that be.

00:13:34.760 That's the culture we live in.

00:13:38.580 A culture governed

00:13:39.620 not by mob rule.

00:13:41.760 Okay, let's get that straight.

00:13:43.560 This is not mob rule.

00:13:46.220 This is a culture governed

00:13:47.560 by the rule of leftist elites

00:13:49.400 who use the mob

00:13:51.020 to affect their ends.

00:13:53.500 And that has made many things

00:13:55.460 very difficult.

00:13:56.120 To merely live as a normal

00:13:57.480 and decent person,

00:13:58.400 maintaining your decency

00:13:59.960 and sanity amid deterrent

00:14:01.260 is at times a Herculean task

00:14:03.740 for everybody.

00:14:05.360 But to enforce the law

00:14:07.000 in this culture,

00:14:09.140 in this environment,

00:14:10.200 with your life

00:14:11.480 and the lives of others

00:14:12.340 on the line,

00:14:13.420 that is now almost impossible.

00:14:18.620 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:14:25.960 All right, now we can get into

00:14:27.260 some more about

00:14:28.080 the Derek Chauvin verdict.

00:14:31.320 First, Vice President Biden yesterday.

00:14:33.520 Vice President Biden

00:14:34.340 after weighing in on the case

00:14:36.720 and calling for a guilty verdict

00:14:37.880 while the jury

00:14:39.020 was still deliberating.

00:14:41.320 And remember,

00:14:42.400 the judge in the case

00:14:43.640 admonished Maxine Waters

00:14:46.060 and asked all political officials

00:14:47.920 to stay out of it.

00:14:50.020 Hours later,

00:14:51.080 the mayor of Minneapolis

00:14:52.060 gets up,

00:14:52.540 says he wants a guilty verdict,

00:14:53.580 and the President of the United States

00:14:54.640 goes in front of cameras

00:14:55.440 and says,

00:14:56.320 he strongly implies

00:14:58.600 that there should be a guilty verdict.

00:15:02.140 But after the verdict was read,

00:15:04.680 he then addressed the nation

00:15:06.020 about the results

00:15:07.220 of this local murder trial.

00:15:09.380 Of course,

00:15:09.880 President Kamala Harris spoke first,

00:15:12.060 and then Vice President Biden

00:15:13.280 got up and shared his thoughts

00:15:14.860 about how all of this relates

00:15:17.000 back to systemic racism.

00:15:18.520 Let's listen.

00:15:19.000 It was a murder

00:15:20.840 in the full light of day,

00:15:22.800 and it ripped the blinders off

00:15:25.380 for the whole world to see.

00:15:28.380 The systemic racism

00:15:29.560 the Vice President

00:15:30.380 just referred to.

00:15:32.320 There was systemic racism

00:15:33.500 that's a stain

00:15:34.380 on our nation's soul.

00:15:37.120 The knee on the neck

00:15:38.420 of justice for black Americans.

00:15:42.260 Profound fear and trauma.

00:15:43.820 The pain, the exhaustion

00:15:45.960 that black and brown Americans

00:15:48.520 experience every single day.

00:15:51.920 Systemic racism.

00:15:53.120 No, I am still, to this point,

00:15:57.100 waiting for some,

00:15:59.580 I've heard over and over and over again

00:16:01.300 that this case,

00:16:03.840 it's just, it's assumed,

00:16:05.140 it's like it's self-evident

00:16:06.160 that, of course,

00:16:07.140 this case is all about race and racism.

00:16:11.800 Even some so-called conservatives

00:16:13.700 on social media

00:16:14.820 after the verdict

00:16:15.560 were celebrating it

00:16:16.980 as a victory

00:16:18.720 for racial justice.

00:16:21.840 And, you know,

00:16:22.780 that qualifier is important

00:16:24.040 because the Chauvin verdict

00:16:25.760 has nothing to do with justice.

00:16:27.580 It doesn't have anything

00:16:28.180 to do with justice

00:16:29.020 as we have traditionally

00:16:30.300 understood it.

00:16:34.360 It's not justice

00:16:35.540 in the, you know,

00:16:36.340 the way that courts

00:16:38.200 are supposed to be

00:16:39.080 enacting justice.

00:16:41.660 But it is racial justice.

00:16:43.700 And it's racial justice

00:16:45.920 because, for the simple fact

00:16:47.320 that Derek Chauvin's white

00:16:48.460 and he's accused 0.99

00:16:50.120 of killing black men, 0.99

00:16:51.000 whether he did or not, 1.00

00:16:51.860 but, and as we were told

00:16:54.000 by the media many times

00:16:55.260 during the trial

00:16:57.180 and before it,

00:16:58.380 that this is not just

00:16:59.960 about Derek Chauvin.

00:17:00.780 The entire country

00:17:01.620 is on trial.

00:17:03.040 All of white America 0.96

00:17:04.160 is on trial.

00:17:06.660 Derek Chauvin

00:17:07.180 is the sacrificial goat,

00:17:08.780 as I've been saying

00:17:10.460 this whole time. 0.80

00:17:11.920 He's a sacrificial goat,

00:17:13.900 much, much like,

00:17:16.300 you know,

00:17:16.520 religious ceremonial practices

00:17:18.780 that date back

00:17:19.400 thousands of years.

00:17:21.600 He is a sacrificial offering 0.95

00:17:23.500 and the guilt of white America 0.99

00:17:26.700 is placed on his shoulders.

00:17:28.180 And, and so, you know,

00:17:29.820 and when you bring

00:17:30.760 the sacrificial goat

00:17:31.900 to the altar, 0.98

00:17:32.620 it has to be burned 0.99

00:17:33.780 in sacrifice.

00:17:36.720 And it was in this case.

00:17:39.700 And that's why,

00:17:40.700 you know,

00:17:40.860 I was saying,

00:17:41.300 I don't,

00:17:42.100 I haven't heard anyone

00:17:43.960 even try to actually explain

00:17:45.900 what racism,

00:17:47.320 how racism plays

00:17:48.140 into any of this.

00:17:50.160 Pretending for a second,

00:17:51.340 for the sake of argument,

00:17:53.360 that Chauvin actually

00:17:54.320 is guilty in all accounts

00:17:55.320 and that we can say that

00:17:57.060 beyond a reasonable doubt,

00:17:57.960 which we can't.

00:18:00.520 But pretending we can,

00:18:01.840 okay, race?

00:18:03.980 What?

00:18:05.600 So you're saying if,

00:18:06.260 if what,

00:18:07.880 you go back

00:18:08.620 and you watch

00:18:08.960 the body cam footage

00:18:09.860 and then you,

00:18:10.480 and then you go to

00:18:11.240 the footage taken

00:18:12.080 by the,

00:18:12.520 the, the bystanders.

00:18:16.320 What part of that

00:18:17.600 do you think

00:18:18.040 would be different

00:18:18.760 if, if George Floyd

00:18:20.920 had a lighter skin tone?

00:18:25.140 If you had a,

00:18:26.420 what was George Floyd?

00:18:27.200 Six foot five or six,

00:18:28.680 240 pounds?

00:18:30.960 So you've had a six foot six,

00:18:32.460 240 pound,

00:18:33.760 convicted felon,

00:18:35.360 high on four times

00:18:37.100 the lethal dose

00:18:37.680 of fentanyl,

00:18:38.760 trying to pass

00:18:40.720 counterfeit bills.

00:18:44.180 What, what,

00:18:44.980 what would the police

00:18:45.660 do differently?

00:18:46.980 Resisting arrest,

00:18:48.400 saying he can't breathe

00:18:50.040 before he's on the ground,

00:18:52.100 asking to be put

00:18:53.380 on the ground.

00:18:54.400 He does ask that.

00:18:56.620 They get him

00:18:57.260 into the,

00:18:57.640 into the police car.

00:18:58.640 He crawls back out.

00:18:59.960 You know,

00:19:00.180 all of that's exactly

00:19:01.000 the same,

00:19:01.260 but he's got

00:19:01.580 lighter skin tone.

00:19:03.440 They think,

00:19:04.600 what, what part of it

00:19:05.740 plays out differently?

00:19:09.620 Well, of course,

00:19:10.260 there's, there's no

00:19:10.760 answering that question.

00:19:14.040 And it's easier too,

00:19:15.240 to, to blame everything.

00:19:16.360 You know,

00:19:16.500 when you take

00:19:17.160 racism,

00:19:19.400 the concept of racism,

00:19:20.260 and you've expanded it

00:19:21.500 into the,

00:19:23.460 to the point of

00:19:23.860 meaninglessness,

00:19:24.340 and also whiteness

00:19:27.640 and white supremacy,

00:19:28.460 all of these words

00:19:29.320 can mean anything now.

00:19:33.480 So there's,

00:19:34.300 there's President Biden

00:19:35.060 on, on the,

00:19:36.440 the chiming in

00:19:37.640 for, for some reason

00:19:38.800 we need an,

00:19:39.840 an address

00:19:40.520 from the Vice President

00:19:42.680 and the President

00:19:43.320 on this case.

00:19:45.140 As I brought up in the,

00:19:46.280 we, we did a backstage

00:19:47.000 yesterday,

00:19:47.440 and as I brought up there,

00:19:49.500 think back to the

00:19:50.540 Kermit Gosnell case.

00:19:51.600 Um, he was an abortionist

00:19:54.680 in, uh,

00:19:56.240 in Philadelphia.

00:19:57.720 Most prolific serial killer

00:19:59.180 in American history.

00:20:01.080 Hundreds of born children

00:20:02.980 that he killed.

00:20:04.640 He also killed 0.55

00:20:05.160 some of his female patients 0.95

00:20:06.260 that came to him.

00:20:07.300 And he was able to do this

00:20:08.560 in a major American city

00:20:09.840 for decades.

00:20:12.400 And the reason

00:20:13.580 he was able to do that

00:20:14.500 is because

00:20:16.160 the government

00:20:16.980 at every level

00:20:18.020 chose to look the other way.

00:20:19.360 So this was a case

00:20:20.000 that, that implicated

00:20:21.120 the government.

00:20:23.880 You know, there were,

00:20:24.660 there were hundreds

00:20:25.380 of, of lives taken.

00:20:27.420 Hundreds of people

00:20:28.460 deeply affected by it.

00:20:29.640 Thousands deeply affected by it.

00:20:31.080 So that was

00:20:32.320 a case of national significance

00:20:33.940 for all those reasons.

00:20:35.760 But the media

00:20:36.580 totally ignored it.

00:20:39.080 Obama

00:20:39.560 in office at the time

00:20:40.920 ignored it.

00:20:42.380 And the reason

00:20:43.320 we were given

00:20:44.000 is that it was a,

00:20:45.460 a local crime story.

00:20:47.780 That was a local crime story.

00:20:50.420 Somehow.

00:20:51.120 And the reality

00:20:53.720 is the opposite.

00:20:54.660 That was not a local

00:20:55.640 crime story.

00:20:56.160 That was like,

00:20:56.500 that was a,

00:20:56.920 a, a crime

00:20:58.000 that involves

00:20:59.080 the government.

00:20:59.940 It actually does involve

00:21:01.060 the system.

00:21:01.680 There were,

00:21:01.980 there were actual

00:21:02.740 systemic failures

00:21:03.700 that led to this

00:21:04.500 and allowed it to happen.

00:21:07.960 But the Chauvin case,

00:21:09.060 no matter what else

00:21:09.560 you think about it,

00:21:10.220 it's a local issue.

00:21:12.900 An isolated incident.

00:21:14.200 All right,

00:21:19.020 some more reaction

00:21:19.600 to the Chauvin verdict.

00:21:20.580 First,

00:21:21.360 here,

00:21:22.080 here's someone

00:21:22.540 on MSNBC

00:21:23.240 explaining why

00:21:24.180 even though they got

00:21:25.240 everything they want,

00:21:26.600 they're still very,

00:21:27.640 very unhappy.

00:21:28.520 Shockingly.

00:21:28.880 Let's listen.

00:21:30.200 I actually always thought

00:21:32.460 that he would be found guilty

00:21:33.840 because it's sort of

00:21:34.820 a cultural makeup call.

00:21:36.120 But I'm not happy.

00:21:37.480 I'm not pleased.

00:21:38.340 I don't have any sense

00:21:39.180 of satisfaction.

00:21:40.040 I don't think this is

00:21:40.740 a system working.

00:21:41.660 I don't think this is

00:21:42.320 a good thing.

00:21:42.800 What this says to me

00:21:44.280 is that in order

00:21:45.980 to get a nominal degree

00:21:47.800 of justice in this country,

00:21:49.520 that a black man 1.00

00:21:50.660 has to be murdered 1.00

00:21:51.780 on air, 0.99

00:21:53.700 viewed by the entire world,

00:21:55.540 there have to be

00:21:56.200 a year's worth of protests

00:21:57.560 and a phalanx

00:21:58.880 of other white police officers

00:22:00.240 to tell one white officer

00:22:01.560 that he was wrong

00:22:02.660 in order to get

00:22:03.500 one scintilla of justice.

00:22:06.300 Notice,

00:22:06.860 okay,

00:22:07.440 he's not happy.

00:22:08.800 Of course,

00:22:09.080 the left,

00:22:09.380 we know that.

00:22:09.840 They're never happy.

00:22:11.460 The revolution

00:22:12.340 continues.

00:22:14.440 And they also assume

00:22:15.480 he says,

00:22:15.880 yeah,

00:22:16.040 I knew there'd be

00:22:16.600 a guilty verdict.

00:22:18.240 They assume

00:22:18.880 they're going to get

00:22:19.240 what they want

00:22:19.760 and they do

00:22:20.660 most of the time.

00:22:22.260 But you're never

00:22:22.820 going to be satisfied.

00:22:24.940 That's why I think

00:22:25.780 I've always thought

00:22:28.100 the label progressivism,

00:22:29.700 it fits.

00:22:32.540 Now,

00:22:32.680 you might not like

00:22:33.360 when you think

00:22:34.440 of what the left

00:22:35.180 is doing,

00:22:35.940 I don't really

00:22:36.320 consider it progress,

00:22:37.380 but it's progress

00:22:38.500 in the way

00:22:39.420 that cancer progresses.

00:22:42.340 In that sort of way.

00:22:44.500 It just keeps moving

00:22:45.880 and infecting

00:22:47.300 and growing.

00:22:49.600 And left-wing progressivism

00:22:51.600 is the same way.

00:22:52.300 It never gets to a point

00:22:54.040 where it's satisfied

00:22:54.840 and says,

00:22:55.260 all right,

00:22:55.520 I've had enough.

00:22:56.600 just keep moving

00:22:59.720 to the next thing.

00:23:01.060 Keep moving on.

00:23:05.020 So he's not happy,

00:23:06.180 obviously,

00:23:06.500 but notice how

00:23:07.200 he admits,

00:23:09.160 basically admits,

00:23:10.260 that this verdict

00:23:11.700 was partly

00:23:13.000 the product

00:23:13.540 of the pressure

00:23:14.300 put on the jury.

00:23:15.760 He says it right there.

00:23:17.340 He says that,

00:23:18.200 well,

00:23:18.320 we needed to have

00:23:18.960 a year of protests

00:23:19.980 and all this stuff

00:23:20.660 in order to get

00:23:21.140 that quote-unquote

00:23:22.500 justice.

00:23:22.940 He's admitting.

00:23:27.280 He's admitting

00:23:28.000 that the jury,

00:23:28.860 at least partially

00:23:29.640 from his perspective,

00:23:30.820 came to this conclusion

00:23:31.820 because that's the pressure

00:23:34.080 that was put on them.

00:23:37.100 AOC had,

00:23:38.000 I think we have this clip,

00:23:38.680 she had a similar take.

00:23:39.520 Let's play that.

00:23:40.260 It's not justice.

00:23:42.380 And I'll explain to you

00:23:43.400 why it's not justice.

00:23:45.220 It's not justice

00:23:46.520 because justice

00:23:48.240 is George Floyd

00:23:51.360 going home tonight

00:23:52.980 to be with his family.

00:23:56.300 Justice

00:23:56.740 is Adam Toledo

00:23:59.780 getting tucked in

00:24:02.500 by his mom tonight.

00:24:06.260 Justice

00:24:06.780 What is that supposed

00:24:19.200 to be referring to?

00:24:19.900 A gun's not part

00:24:20.980 of that interaction?

00:24:22.980 Well,

00:24:23.400 if you're talking

00:24:23.640 about Daunte Wright,

00:24:24.620 the reason a gun's

00:24:25.300 part of the interaction

00:24:25.940 is because you

00:24:27.660 committed armed robbery

00:24:29.340 against a woman 0.79

00:24:30.760 and there was a warrant

00:24:32.580 for your arrest

00:24:33.240 and they tried to arrest you

00:24:34.400 and you resisted.

00:24:34.920 That's how the gun

00:24:35.560 got involved there.

00:24:36.780 This is not,

00:24:39.120 I will agree though,

00:24:40.340 aside from that last part,

00:24:41.200 the rest of it,

00:24:42.180 I sort of agree.

00:24:43.240 This is not justice.

00:24:45.680 This verdict is not just

00:24:46.980 because it's the result

00:24:49.380 of pressure.

00:24:52.700 This is,

00:24:53.780 this is really,

00:24:54.800 it's the death

00:24:55.620 of the rule of law

00:24:56.580 where the left knows

00:24:59.640 that it can get

00:25:01.000 someone convicted

00:25:01.660 of murder

00:25:02.160 if it wants.

00:25:06.780 But I thought of all,

00:25:07.700 you know,

00:25:07.820 and we could sit here

00:25:08.400 all day playing

00:25:09.020 the reaction from the left

00:25:10.000 and the media

00:25:10.400 to the Chauvin trial

00:25:11.100 and most of it

00:25:12.260 is exactly what

00:25:12.740 you would expect.

00:25:14.140 This is also

00:25:14.860 what you would expect

00:25:15.560 but it's also perhaps

00:25:18.260 the most demented reaction.

00:25:19.460 This is from Nancy Pelosi.

00:25:21.960 Not you,

00:25:22.260 what she's saying here

00:25:22.920 is not unique

00:25:23.600 and not the first time

00:25:24.500 she's said something

00:25:25.280 like this.

00:25:25.960 But here she is 0.94

00:25:28.820 fully embracing

00:25:30.520 the religious cult-like nature

00:25:32.680 of all of this

00:25:34.160 and of the whole

00:25:34.660 quote-unquote

00:25:35.140 anti-racism movement.

00:25:37.440 Here she is appointing

00:25:38.720 George Floyd

00:25:40.180 a Christ-like

00:25:41.400 messianic figure

00:25:42.720 who dies for the sins

00:25:43.920 of all mankind

00:25:45.040 or at least

00:25:45.520 of white mankind. 0.52

00:25:47.780 Here she is.

00:25:49.880 Thank you,

00:25:50.480 George Floyd

00:25:51.160 for sacrificing

00:25:53.020 your life for justice,

00:25:54.380 for being there

00:25:56.260 to call out

00:25:57.040 to your mom.

00:25:58.280 How heartbreaking

00:25:59.060 was that?

00:26:00.300 Call out for your mom.

00:26:02.180 I can't breathe

00:26:03.140 but because of you

00:26:04.360 and because of

00:26:06.180 thousands,

00:26:07.700 millions of people

00:26:08.520 around the world

00:26:09.500 who came out

00:26:10.860 for justice,

00:26:12.560 your name

00:26:13.220 will always be

00:26:14.280 synonymous

00:26:14.840 with justice.

00:26:17.020 Good Lord.

00:26:18.260 You know what?

00:26:18.620 I actually had not

00:26:19.440 listened to that full clip

00:26:20.860 until right now

00:26:21.640 because I could

00:26:23.260 barely stomach it.

00:26:24.380 all I heard

00:26:25.140 was thank you

00:26:25.780 George Floyd

00:26:26.720 for sacrificing

00:26:27.540 your life.

00:26:29.980 Sacrificing your life

00:26:30.780 for all of us.

00:26:32.220 It's not an exaggeration.

00:26:33.360 This is what

00:26:34.280 Christians say 0.94

00:26:35.040 about Jesus Christ.

00:26:36.840 They have appointed

00:26:37.760 George Floyd

00:26:38.780 their Christ,

00:26:40.180 their Messiah

00:26:40.700 in this religious cult

00:26:44.080 which has

00:26:46.700 the hallmarks

00:26:47.760 in every sense

00:26:48.420 of a religion.

00:26:49.540 as we've talked

00:26:51.560 about.

00:26:52.820 There's always

00:26:53.480 the concept

00:26:54.060 of original sin.

00:26:56.220 Only we know

00:26:57.140 in the Christian faith

00:26:57.860 original sin

00:26:58.420 is shared

00:26:59.260 by everyone.

00:27:01.760 In this case

00:27:02.680 it is a racial 0.81

00:27:04.200 original sin. 0.98

00:27:05.340 White people 1.00

00:27:05.880 have it.

00:27:07.480 We pass it down

00:27:08.300 I guess in our bloodline

00:27:09.280 this guilt.

00:27:12.160 But where she

00:27:12.920 says there

00:27:13.760 your name

00:27:14.420 will always be

00:27:15.560 synonymous

00:27:16.400 with justice.

00:27:20.780 I

00:27:20.980 you know

00:27:22.000 every time

00:27:23.420 I hear something

00:27:23.860 like that

00:27:24.240 I can't help

00:27:25.420 but think

00:27:26.740 to

00:27:27.340 and I don't even

00:27:28.780 know her name

00:27:29.280 or what she looks like.

00:27:30.720 And that's the point.

00:27:33.040 But imagine

00:27:34.180 being the woman

00:27:35.360 who George Floyd

00:27:36.920 robbed.

00:27:38.500 Didn't just rob

00:27:39.400 but it

00:27:39.740 forced

00:27:40.620 his way

00:27:41.540 into her house

00:27:42.060 put a gun 0.99

00:27:43.580 to her 0.91

00:27:43.940 and robbed her.

00:27:44.640 another one

00:27:46.700 of the guys

00:27:47.080 in his crew

00:27:47.520 pistol whipped her. 0.83

00:27:50.020 So you've just

00:27:50.780 you've been robbed

00:27:51.840 and pistol whipped

00:27:52.440 in your own home

00:27:53.260 by George Floyd

00:27:54.060 and his crew.

00:27:56.340 That happened

00:27:57.020 a few years ago.

00:27:59.140 And now

00:28:00.140 you have to hear

00:28:00.800 Nancy Pelosi

00:28:01.640 saying that

00:28:02.160 his name

00:28:03.060 is synonymous

00:28:03.980 with justice.

00:28:07.880 Imagine if

00:28:08.540 the Christ figure

00:28:09.880 that your culture

00:28:10.620 has selected

00:28:11.820 is the guy

00:28:13.600 who forced his way

00:28:14.180 into your home

00:28:14.500 and robbed you.

00:28:17.960 But

00:28:18.360 nobody cares

00:28:19.360 about her.

00:28:20.100 She is

00:28:20.760 literally nameless

00:28:21.820 and faceless

00:28:22.340 as far as

00:28:23.620 the public

00:28:24.140 goes.

00:28:27.420 One other clip

00:28:28.160 to play.

00:28:28.620 This is Maxine Waters

00:28:29.600 and I think

00:28:31.740 there's a lesson

00:28:32.660 we could learn here.

00:28:34.000 Maybe even a little bit

00:28:34.920 of inspiration

00:28:35.580 we can find here.

00:28:36.340 Maxine Waters

00:28:36.980 we know

00:28:38.720 is guilty

00:28:39.120 of tampering

00:28:39.540 with the jury

00:28:40.000 intimidating

00:28:40.440 the jury.

00:28:42.240 Republicans

00:28:42.600 tried to censure

00:28:43.360 her for it 0.61

00:28:44.600 but that

00:28:45.520 that was voted

00:28:46.820 down by

00:28:47.300 every Democrat

00:28:48.220 in Congress

00:28:49.680 came to her defense.

00:28:52.120 And then she

00:28:52.700 went on MSNBC

00:28:54.040 and continued

00:28:54.820 to refuse

00:28:55.340 to apologize

00:28:55.960 and made herself

00:28:57.340 into the victim.

00:28:58.080 But let's listen

00:28:58.680 to what she said.

00:29:00.140 I'm just pleased

00:29:01.160 that I still feel

00:29:02.520 strong enough

00:29:03.240 and able enough

00:29:04.040 to go out

00:29:04.760 with the young people

00:29:05.540 and say

00:29:05.960 Auntie Maxine

00:29:06.920 is here

00:29:07.560 and I support you

00:29:09.100 and I want you

00:29:10.200 to be activists.

00:29:11.420 I'm so sorry

00:29:12.300 that it causes

00:29:13.960 pain

00:29:14.520 oftentimes

00:29:15.160 with my colleagues.

00:29:16.740 Many times

00:29:17.220 they're in these districts

00:29:18.300 where they're frightened

00:29:19.380 where they have

00:29:20.060 a lot of racism

00:29:20.880 where they still

00:29:21.760 haven't moved

00:29:22.260 to the point

00:29:22.840 where they can have

00:29:23.660 a decent conversation

00:29:24.980 about these issues

00:29:26.460 and sometimes

00:29:27.360 it's very difficult

00:29:28.180 for them

00:29:28.720 but they stood up

00:29:29.800 with me today.

00:29:31.200 They put me

00:29:31.680 at the center

00:29:32.340 because of my visit

00:29:33.880 to Minneapolis

00:29:34.540 and my colleagues

00:29:35.800 stood with me

00:29:36.880 and they voted

00:29:38.660 to table

00:29:39.380 the motion

00:29:40.300 that was put up

00:29:41.380 to censor me

00:29:42.320 because the Republicans

00:29:43.760 love to use me

00:29:44.660 as a target.

00:29:45.600 They raise money

00:29:46.160 on my backs.

00:29:47.280 That's that Maxine Waters 0.80

00:29:49.000 that black woman 1.00

00:29:50.360 who is so uppity 1.00

00:29:51.800 and who is someone

00:29:53.340 we can't control

00:29:54.400 and so you've got

00:29:55.760 to make sure

00:29:56.480 that I have enough money

00:29:57.760 to keep her

00:29:58.600 from getting reelected

00:29:59.760 and I keep getting reelected

00:30:01.400 and these poor people

00:30:02.520 many of them retirees

00:30:04.060 they keep giving them

00:30:04.980 their money

00:30:05.480 they don't seem

00:30:06.240 to understand

00:30:06.960 they're not gonna

00:30:07.840 get me out of office

00:30:09.180 I'm here

00:30:10.020 until I decide

00:30:11.080 to retire.

00:30:13.060 I mean all I did

00:30:14.460 was fly from D.C.

00:30:15.480 to Minneapolis

00:30:16.020 and tamper

00:30:16.580 with a jury

00:30:17.600 and intimidate them

00:30:18.320 to get a verdict

00:30:20.340 that I want

00:30:20.920 in a local murder trial.

00:30:23.640 Clearly if they're

00:30:24.360 if they would

00:30:25.160 if anyone would object

00:30:26.080 to that

00:30:26.400 the only reason

00:30:26.940 could possibly

00:30:27.520 be racism.

00:30:30.280 Did she actually

00:30:30.680 by the way

00:30:31.000 did she actually

00:30:31.420 call herself

00:30:31.900 Auntie Maxine?

00:30:33.820 Did I hear that right?

00:30:35.060 Is that how

00:30:35.780 she referred 0.53

00:30:36.300 to herself?

00:30:39.140 If you want

00:30:40.100 an argument

00:30:40.540 for term limits

00:30:41.220 there it is

00:30:41.680 right there.

00:30:42.540 That person

00:30:43.060 that clip 0.50

00:30:43.760 right there

00:30:44.060 is everything

00:30:44.380 you need to know.

00:30:46.280 She considers

00:30:46.980 herself to be

00:30:47.720 the auntie

00:30:48.780 to her

00:30:49.420 constituents

00:30:50.660 refusing to leave.

00:30:53.700 How old is she now? 0.92

00:30:54.280 Like 98?

00:30:56.300 She's saying

00:30:56.620 I'm never leaving.

00:30:57.640 I'm never leaving.

00:30:58.320 Be here forever.

00:31:00.860 Because I know

00:31:01.460 my constituents 1.00

00:31:02.020 are stupid enough 1.00

00:31:03.020 to keep voting me in. 1.00

00:31:04.060 I've never done

00:31:04.420 anything for them

00:31:05.200 at all.

00:31:08.840 But the one

00:31:09.660 lesson we could take

00:31:10.360 the one maybe

00:31:11.060 bit of inspiration

00:31:12.100 that we can all

00:31:12.840 take from Auntie Maxine

00:31:13.920 is refusing to apologize.

00:31:18.860 This is the left's game.

00:31:20.060 They're just never

00:31:21.020 ever going to apologize

00:31:22.220 for anything.

00:31:26.480 I'm not going to apologize.

00:31:27.760 Anyone who is attacking me

00:31:28.980 they're wrong.

00:31:29.920 I'm the victim here really.

00:31:33.940 And we could take

00:31:34.540 the self-victimization thing

00:31:37.140 I can't stomach that

00:31:38.100 when anyone does it

00:31:38.680 so we could take

00:31:39.060 that part of it out.

00:31:42.540 But the part

00:31:43.260 where you refuse

00:31:43.840 to apologize

00:31:44.420 that has to be

00:31:45.580 the move.

00:31:47.900 That's what the left does.

00:31:49.120 It works.

00:31:52.040 There's nothing

00:31:52.600 to be gained

00:31:53.100 by apologizing.

00:31:56.260 Especially when

00:31:56.920 your attackers

00:31:57.540 are totally disingenuous.

00:32:00.780 Now in this case

00:32:01.640 the critics of

00:32:02.420 Maxine Waters

00:32:03.060 are not disingenuous.

00:32:05.580 I'm one of the critics

00:32:06.420 and I actually

00:32:07.300 am concerned

00:32:08.100 about tampering with

00:32:09.260 and trying to influence

00:32:10.420 a jury.

00:32:13.360 But she refuses

00:32:14.160 to apologize anyway

00:32:14.880 and we should all

00:32:16.160 take notes from there.

00:32:17.240 We should take that cue.

00:32:20.140 Alright actually

00:32:20.560 one last clip to play

00:32:22.180 before we move on

00:32:22.980 to reading the comments.

00:32:24.280 This is

00:32:24.880 Greta Thunberg.

00:32:26.680 I don't know why

00:32:29.800 I don't know the context

00:32:30.860 I can't see any

00:32:32.380 I can't imagine

00:32:33.100 any context

00:32:33.640 that would

00:32:33.980 that would make this

00:32:36.160 anything less than absurd

00:32:37.220 but she's 0.97

00:32:37.760 she's instructing

00:32:39.140 other countries

00:32:39.800 on how they should

00:32:40.540 handle the vaccine

00:32:41.820 distribution.

00:32:42.860 Here she is.

00:32:43.820 Just with the climate

00:32:44.740 crisis

00:32:45.340 those who are

00:32:47.060 the most vulnerable

00:32:47.740 need to be prioritized

00:32:49.380 and global problems

00:32:50.760 require global solutions.

00:32:52.320 It is completely

00:32:54.900 unethical

00:32:55.740 that high-income

00:32:56.600 countries

00:32:57.160 are now vaccinating

00:32:58.580 young and healthy

00:32:59.420 people

00:32:59.860 if that happens

00:33:01.060 at the expense

00:33:02.040 of people

00:33:02.980 in risk groups

00:33:03.800 and on the front lines

00:33:04.880 in low and middle

00:33:05.700 income countries.

00:33:07.300 And this is

00:33:08.440 a moral test.

00:33:09.920 We talked today

00:33:10.660 about showing

00:33:11.400 solidarity

00:33:12.080 and yet

00:33:13.240 vaccine nationalism

00:33:14.740 it's what's running

00:33:16.080 the vaccine distribution.

00:33:17.280 What do we care

00:33:21.880 what she has to say?

00:33:22.860 Who asked her opinion

00:33:23.980 on vaccine distribution?

00:33:28.140 But going back

00:33:29.040 to religious cult

00:33:29.820 this is a

00:33:30.300 the left

00:33:31.160 it's a religious cult

00:33:31.980 and

00:33:32.620 many religions

00:33:35.100 throughout history

00:33:35.960 have child prophets

00:33:37.360 child prophets

00:33:38.200 play a big role

00:33:38.940 in a lot of religions

00:33:40.100 and that's what she is

00:33:41.660 for the left

00:33:41.960 she's a child prophet

00:33:42.760 and she can

00:33:43.240 she doesn't have to have

00:33:44.420 any expertise at all

00:33:45.480 now usually the move

00:33:48.240 it's like

00:33:48.600 she can 0.59

00:33:49.660 pontificate about anything

00:33:51.060 and we're supposed to listen

00:33:52.020 and that's been the case

00:33:54.700 since she was like 14

00:33:55.600 when she first stepped

00:33:56.280 on the stage

00:33:56.920 instructing

00:33:59.200 telling the whole world

00:34:00.980 countries

00:34:01.720 other governments

00:34:02.540 what sort of policies

00:34:04.780 they're supposed to enact

00:34:05.580 and for that

00:34:07.240 we're supposed to listen

00:34:07.940 nobody's allowed to ask her

00:34:08.940 what is your

00:34:09.700 you even have a high school diploma?

00:34:12.400 Why should we listen to you?

00:34:13.540 What's your expertise?

00:34:15.480 yet of course

00:34:17.100 if you get up there

00:34:17.980 as just a

00:34:18.920 normal

00:34:19.680 sane adult

00:34:21.240 and say something like

00:34:22.280 you know

00:34:24.380 only men 1.00

00:34:25.040 have penises 1.00

00:34:25.820 if you say that 1.00

00:34:26.900 you're going to hear

00:34:27.460 what are you

00:34:27.880 since when did you

00:34:28.680 become a doctor?

00:34:29.440 I don't see your medical degree

00:34:30.620 that's the way that goes

00:34:34.260 alright let's move to

00:34:35.340 reading the

00:34:35.900 YouTube comments

00:34:36.840 this is from

00:34:38.320 Banks Parento

00:34:39.660 says

00:34:39.980 hi Matt

00:34:40.380 I just wanted to

00:34:41.260 you to know

00:34:42.000 how young

00:34:42.740 some of your listeners are

00:34:43.700 I'm 12

00:34:44.320 and I listen to the show

00:34:46.960 every day

00:34:47.940 well I appreciate that

00:34:50.880 and

00:34:51.380 there are

00:34:53.540 here's what I'll say

00:34:54.520 for this show

00:34:55.280 there are a lot worse things

00:34:58.100 that a 12 year old

00:34:58.820 could be watching on YouTube

00:34:59.680 I don't know if that's the greatest

00:35:01.760 selling point

00:35:04.060 but that's what I'm going with

00:35:05.500 Sebastian says

00:35:06.320 your show was late today Matt

00:35:07.520 usually I'm able to watch it

00:35:08.680 during my study hall period

00:35:09.720 but you released it

00:35:10.440 during my science class

00:35:11.620 for that you are

00:35:13.860 of course cancelled

00:35:14.640 well I hate to say

00:35:16.560 but you know what

00:35:17.020 you're probably going to hear

00:35:19.340 better science

00:35:20.080 on this show

00:35:20.940 than you'll hear in your science class

00:35:21.920 depending on where you go to school

00:35:22.780 another comment says

00:35:25.100 the reason no one is talking

00:35:26.140 about the alien stuff

00:35:27.040 is there really isn't

00:35:27.820 anything to talk about

00:35:28.720 other than pointing it out

00:35:29.820 you're right about

00:35:30.580 there are really only

00:35:31.140 big two options

00:35:31.820 but in both

00:35:32.520 the only logical response

00:35:33.840 seems to be

00:35:34.420 sit around and wait

00:35:35.560 for a third explanation

00:35:36.380 or wait to be conquered

00:35:37.300 and try not to think about it

00:35:38.380 until then

00:35:38.880 well yeah

00:35:40.040 if there are aliens out there

00:35:42.740 that are visiting the planet

00:35:43.600 there's not a lot

00:35:44.080 we could do about that

00:35:44.840 if there's another country

00:35:46.260 that has this

00:35:46.800 otherworldly technology

00:35:48.160 that is so mind-blowing

00:35:50.740 that even our

00:35:52.160 government officials

00:35:52.960 think that it might be

00:35:53.820 from another planet

00:35:54.400 in both those cases

00:35:55.760 there's probably not a lot

00:35:56.320 we can do about it

00:35:56.880 all I'm saying is

00:35:57.700 that's the case

00:35:59.860 for everything we talk about

00:36:00.820 there's not anything

00:36:01.660 that we can

00:36:02.240 individually do about it

00:36:04.460 any big societal issue

00:36:06.100 yeah we talk about

00:36:08.060 everything

00:36:08.500 we talk about

00:36:09.620 all these things

00:36:10.140 I would think that

00:36:13.280 the reason we would

00:36:14.720 talk about the alien issue

00:36:15.880 is that it is important

00:36:17.060 I don't know

00:36:18.020 I would consider it important

00:36:19.800 and it's interesting

00:36:21.160 it's much more interesting

00:36:23.540 and fascinating

00:36:24.200 than 95% of the stuff

00:36:25.760 we're talking about

00:36:26.320 all the time

00:36:26.760 but you know

00:36:30.900 we ignore it

00:36:31.540 let's see

00:36:34.440 another comment says

00:36:35.000 Matt could easily pass off

00:36:36.200 as Chauvin's defense attorney

00:36:37.560 check it out

00:36:38.240 I've seen a lot of

00:36:39.240 comments like this

00:36:39.900 that I look like

00:36:40.400 Chauvin's defense attorney

00:36:41.320 why because we both

00:36:42.180 have beards

00:36:42.720 all bearded guys

00:36:44.380 look the same

00:36:45.080 that kind of bigotry

00:36:48.440 is not allowed on this show

00:36:49.320 you are banned from the show

00:36:50.340 obviously

00:36:50.960 and finally

00:36:52.580 it says

00:36:53.080 Matt

00:36:53.360 the cosmos is huge

00:36:54.740 there's a statistical certainty

00:36:56.080 that there's intelligent life

00:36:57.060 on another planet

00:36:57.680 it's also statistical certainty

00:36:59.300 that such a planet

00:37:00.100 is so far away from us

00:37:01.360 that we'll never know

00:37:02.780 about them

00:37:03.380 and we'll never be able

00:37:04.160 to reach them

00:37:04.880 and vice versa

00:37:05.700 yeah that used

00:37:06.780 that used to be my position

00:37:08.480 and that's still

00:37:09.300 a very credible position

00:37:11.880 there's a good argument

00:37:12.520 for that

00:37:12.960 the distances are so vast

00:37:14.760 the closest solar

00:37:16.840 our neighboring solar system

00:37:18.220 like the one that's

00:37:18.780 right next door to us

00:37:19.560 in cosmic terms

00:37:20.680 is I don't know

00:37:22.060 25 trillion

00:37:22.800 miles away

00:37:24.660 four or five light years

00:37:26.640 25 trillion miles

00:37:27.500 with current technology

00:37:30.700 it would take us

00:37:31.200 centuries and centuries

00:37:32.080 to get there

00:37:32.500 and that's the closest one

00:37:34.300 and imagine

00:37:35.740 it takes you centuries

00:37:37.040 to get there

00:37:37.440 and you get there

00:37:38.180 and there's nothing there

00:37:39.080 well it'll be another

00:37:41.080 thousand years

00:37:41.680 to the next one

00:37:42.260 so I used to think

00:37:44.820 that that

00:37:45.180 I used to agree with that

00:37:46.360 but then also

00:37:47.080 you're thinking of things

00:37:49.420 in human terms

00:37:50.140 and some of these

00:37:52.100 vehicles

00:37:54.420 these crafts

00:37:55.240 that we've seen videos of

00:37:56.800 and the Pentagon

00:37:57.580 has confirmed

00:37:58.420 that these are flying objects

00:38:01.080 and they're doing things

00:38:04.320 that to us

00:38:05.080 seem impossible

00:38:05.880 and so when we talk about

00:38:08.220 how long it takes

00:38:09.000 to travel across space

00:38:09.920 we are

00:38:10.880 we are

00:38:11.340 saying that

00:38:13.300 based on

00:38:13.860 technology

00:38:15.180 as we understand it

00:38:16.380 there might be

00:38:18.200 technology out there

00:38:18.960 that can do things

00:38:19.560 we can't understand

00:38:20.360 we know there are

00:38:21.220 because we see them

00:38:22.040 that our government

00:38:23.620 has seen that stuff

00:38:24.340 flying around in the sky

00:38:25.100 and told us about it

00:38:26.420 and then we all just

00:38:29.200 yawn and move on

00:38:29.860 now a quick word

00:38:31.500 from Helix Sleep

00:38:32.580 you know when you don't

00:38:33.420 get a good night's sleep

00:38:34.280 everyone knows it

00:38:35.360 it's obvious to you

00:38:36.200 it's obvious to everyone

00:38:36.800 you're wearing it on your face

00:38:37.860 you got the bags

00:38:38.440 under the eyes

00:38:38.900 everything

00:38:39.120 it looks hideous

00:38:40.600 don't go out in public

00:39:24.580 they could sleep

00:40:05.920 also of course

00:40:06.540 the Candice podcast

00:40:08.140 which is available

00:40:08.980 on Apple, Spotify

00:40:10.300 or wherever you listen

00:40:11.100 to your podcast

00:40:11.620 now let's get to

00:40:12.500 our daily cancellation

00:40:13.280 today for our

00:40:17.360 daily cancellation

00:40:17.820 we're going to

00:40:18.440 move away from

00:40:19.100 issues surrounding

00:40:19.800 race and policing

00:40:20.700 to talk about

00:40:21.260 issues surrounding

00:40:21.920 race and cartoon shows

00:40:23.580 no matter what

00:40:24.960 as we've seen

00:40:25.440 race is involved

00:40:26.120 in every issue

00:40:26.720 it's involved

00:40:27.200 even when it's

00:40:27.740 not involved

00:40:28.260 though sometimes

00:40:28.820 when it is involved

00:40:29.500 it's not involved

00:40:30.240 like anytime a white 0.98

00:40:31.340 person is the victim

00:40:32.020 of interracial violence

00:40:32.960 so anyway

00:40:34.040 I hope that clears

00:40:34.600 things up

00:40:34.980 now the headline

00:40:36.600 on Yahoo News

00:40:37.300 which I promise

00:40:39.060 is not satire

00:40:39.880 reads as follows

00:40:40.920 kids cartoon

00:40:42.780 Bluey 0.87

00:40:43.340 criticized

00:40:43.840 for not having

00:40:44.860 disabled

00:40:45.460 queer 0.99

00:40:46.000 poor 0.94

00:40:46.580 gender diverse

00:40:47.960 or

00:40:48.420 dogs of color

00:40:49.600 now apparently

00:40:51.420 as we'll discover

00:40:52.060 when we keep

00:40:52.800 reading

00:40:53.020 Bluey is an 1.00

00:40:54.560 Australian children's

00:40:55.700 show which is

00:40:56.220 why I've never

00:40:57.020 heard of it

00:40:57.420 but even not

00:40:58.880 being familiar

00:40:59.360 with the program

00:40:59.920 it seems

00:41:00.460 immediately clear

00:41:01.340 that the show

00:41:01.860 does have

00:41:02.520 dogs of color

00:41:03.420 I mean it has

00:41:04.500 a blue dog

00:41:05.320 doesn't it

00:41:05.900 in fact

00:41:07.280 all dogs

00:41:08.380 are some

00:41:09.560 kind of color

00:41:10.220 every dog

00:41:11.260 is a dog

00:41:12.060 of color

00:41:12.480 just like

00:41:13.840 every person

00:41:14.620 is a person

00:41:15.480 of color

00:41:15.920 all people

00:41:17.000 are some

00:41:17.720 kind of color

00:41:18.520 aren't they

00:41:18.960 this is why

00:41:20.040 the phrase

00:41:20.460 people of

00:41:21.000 color 0.97

00:41:21.260 is nonsensical 0.99

00:41:23.220 and silly 0.99

00:41:23.720 when applied 0.97

00:41:24.300 only to certain

00:41:25.380 groups

00:41:25.700 to the exclusion

00:41:26.640 of others

00:41:26.980 like last I

00:41:27.820 checked

00:41:28.120 Caucasian people

00:41:29.220 have a color

00:41:30.420 I can't imagine

00:41:32.020 what a colorless

00:41:32.780 person would

00:41:33.400 look like

00:41:34.020 they'd have to

00:41:35.180 be translucent

00:41:35.980 like some

00:41:36.460 kind of 0.65

00:41:36.760 hideous

00:41:37.140 deep sea

00:41:38.420 fish

00:41:38.820 or something

00:41:39.340 but certainly

00:41:40.880 again

00:41:41.160 all dogs

00:41:42.040 have a color

00:41:43.740 all dogs

00:41:44.220 go to heaven

00:41:44.700 and all dogs

00:41:45.280 have a color

00:41:45.760 that first

00:41:48.100 part is not

00:41:48.520 true at all

00:41:48.840 in my opinion

00:41:49.280 despite what

00:41:50.120 the cartoon

00:41:50.500 shows say

00:41:50.980 what can

00:41:51.780 what can

00:41:52.120 dog of color

00:41:52.760 even mean

00:41:53.220 then

00:41:53.400 does it

00:41:53.700 mean that

00:41:54.080 the show

00:41:55.680 should have

00:41:56.040 dogs

00:41:56.460 which resemble

00:41:57.380 racial minorities

00:41:58.580 but wouldn't

00:41:59.780 that be

00:42:00.140 considered racist

00:42:00.880 if it did

00:42:01.520 none of this

00:42:03.060 makes any sense

00:42:03.600 in fairness

00:42:04.040 though we

00:42:04.380 haven't read

00:42:04.760 the article

00:42:05.140 yet

00:42:05.380 maybe it

00:42:06.160 will make

00:42:06.460 a persuasive

00:42:06.920 case

00:42:07.260 you know

00:42:07.540 far be it

00:42:07.980 for me

00:42:08.200 to make

00:42:09.060 assumptions

00:42:09.540 based merely

00:42:10.280 on the

00:42:10.580 psychotic

00:42:11.020 headline

00:42:11.360 so here's

00:42:12.320 the article

00:42:12.780 it says

00:42:14.540 quote

00:42:14.800 the animated

00:42:16.160 show for

00:42:16.620 preschool

00:42:16.960 children

00:42:17.360 follows

00:42:17.800 Bluey 0.87

00:42:20.820 puppy

00:42:21.180 and her

00:42:21.700 family

00:42:22.040 as they

00:42:22.660 go about

00:42:23.040 life

00:42:23.360 in Brisbane

00:42:24.260 and learn

00:42:25.140 important life

00:42:25.760 lessons

00:42:26.100 in an opinion

00:42:26.880 piece on the

00:42:27.500 ABC Everyday

00:42:29.040 journalist

00:42:29.480 Beverly

00:42:29.980 Wang

00:42:30.380 shared her

00:42:31.720 of the

00:42:32.020 hit

00:42:32.180 cartoon

00:42:32.620 but also

00:42:33.320 questioned

00:42:33.720 why the

00:42:34.040 show

00:42:34.200 isn't

00:42:34.520 more

00:42:34.740 representative

00:42:35.360 Wang

00:42:36.120 asked

00:42:36.480 why the

00:42:36.920 show

00:42:37.080 which is

00:42:37.380 set in

00:42:37.660 the capital

00:42:52.360 background

00:42:52.800 let them 0.55

00:42:53.460 come forward

00:42:54.140 Wang

00:42:55.380 acknowledged

00:42:55.880 the creators

00:42:56.600 of Bluey 0.86

00:42:57.040 may not view

00:42:57.720 their show

00:42:58.140 through a

00:42:58.440 political

00:42:58.720 lens

00:42:59.100 imagine

00:42:59.500 that

00:42:59.800 but she

00:43:00.500 argued

00:43:00.800 it's

00:43:00.980 important

00:43:01.300 for

00:43:01.500 children's

00:43:01.920 programming

00:43:02.240 to be

00:43:02.540 more

00:43:02.760 representative

00:43:03.220 she said

00:43:04.500 the tender

00:43:05.000 nuanced

00:43:05.540 and joyful

00:43:06.180 show

00:43:06.520 has already

00:43:06.980 demonstrated

00:43:07.460 depth

00:43:07.880 and range

00:43:08.520 in its

00:43:09.480 ability

00:43:09.760 to touch

00:43:10.140 on important

00:43:10.560 issues

00:43:10.940 quote

00:43:12.100 as a parent

00:43:12.540 of color

00:43:12.940 I am

00:43:13.220 always

00:43:13.500 conscious

00:43:13.940 of the

00:43:14.460 presence

00:43:14.880 or absence

00:43:15.440 of diverse

00:43:16.380 representation

00:43:16.960 in kids

00:43:17.320 pop culture

00:43:17.820 what it means

00:43:18.880 for children

00:43:19.320 and conversations

00:43:19.920 we have

00:43:20.220 around that

00:43:20.660 Wang

00:43:20.900 said

00:43:21.120 I sincerely

00:43:21.900 believe

00:43:22.260 you don't

00:43:23.140 have to be

00:43:23.560 other

00:43:23.920 to think

00:43:24.760 about this

00:43:25.180 too

00:43:25.420 okay

00:43:27.460 well let me

00:43:27.940 say

00:43:28.220 as a

00:43:28.820 translucent

00:43:29.340 parent

00:43:29.880 a parent

00:43:30.660 without color

00:43:31.300 a colorless

00:43:32.000 parent

00:43:32.300 I am not

00:43:33.980 conscious at all

00:43:35.280 of the racial

00:43:36.020 makeup of the

00:43:36.740 cartoon shows

00:43:37.400 my kids watch

00:43:38.080 all of my kids

00:43:39.200 have enjoyed

00:43:39.620 Peppa Pig

00:43:40.300 for example

00:43:41.020 I have never

00:43:43.220 wondered

00:43:43.740 about the race

00:43:44.800 of Peppa

00:43:45.360 and her family

00:43:46.000 they do seem

00:43:46.560 to be British

00:43:47.460 but I never

00:43:47.980 speculated about

00:43:48.700 their racial

00:43:49.200 background

00:43:49.660 that's because 1.00

00:43:51.520 they're pigs 1.00

00:43:52.200 and also 0.99

00:43:53.880 fictional

00:43:54.360 that's also

00:43:56.780 why I've never

00:43:57.180 wondered about

00:43:57.680 the sexual

00:43:58.180 orientation

00:43:58.740 or gender

00:43:59.460 identity

00:43:59.940 of these

00:44:01.040 fictional

00:44:01.460 cartoon

00:44:01.960 British 1.00

00:44:02.360 pigs 1.00

00:44:02.800 I mean

00:44:04.080 it's possible

00:44:04.580 that Daddy

00:44:05.160 Pig

00:44:05.480 my favorite 0.85

00:44:07.080 character

00:44:07.380 in the show

00:44:07.700 is in his

00:44:08.740 private life

00:44:09.320 a pansexual

00:44:10.320 gender fluid 0.69

00:44:11.160 foot fetishist

00:44:11.980 I mean

00:44:12.180 it's possible

00:44:12.800 the issue

00:44:14.320 has simply

00:44:14.720 never been

00:44:15.120 addressed

00:44:15.520 in any episode

00:44:16.220 of Peppa Pig

00:44:16.680 that I've ever

00:44:17.160 watched

00:44:17.480 and I prefer

00:44:19.040 in fact

00:44:19.400 for it not

00:44:20.260 to be addressed

00:44:20.920 I prefer

00:44:22.420 if Daddy

00:44:22.820 Pig's

00:44:23.180 sexual 1.00

00:44:23.420 proclivities

00:44:23.860 and even

00:44:24.340 his racial

00:44:24.780 background

00:44:25.300 remain unexplored

00:44:26.860 then again

00:44:28.240 I'm approaching

00:44:29.380 this from

00:44:29.800 the perspective

00:44:30.640 of a sane

00:44:31.360 person

00:44:31.820 and that's

00:44:33.040 why I often

00:44:33.500 have so much

00:44:33.900 trouble relating

00:44:34.540 to the concerns

00:44:35.200 of the left

00:44:35.740 now let's read

00:44:37.020 a little more

00:44:37.380 from the article

00:44:37.920 as it talks

00:44:38.620 about the

00:44:40.300 mild blowback

00:44:41.340 that the author

00:44:42.020 Wang

00:44:42.460 received for

00:44:43.740 her psychotically 0.99

00:44:44.500 insane opinions

00:44:45.280 it says

00:44:46.540 quote

00:44:46.860 Guardian

00:44:47.660 Australia's

00:44:48.400 political reporter

00:44:49.120 Amy Ramikis

00:44:50.380 said the amount

00:44:51.880 of hate

00:44:52.300 being directed

00:44:52.880 towards Wang

00:44:53.560 was the reason

00:44:54.380 quote

00:44:54.700 why this country

00:44:55.560 can never have

00:44:56.140 a serious

00:44:56.820 conversation

00:44:57.520 she wrote

00:44:58.940 on Twitter

00:44:59.280 the amount

00:45:00.340 being directed

00:45:00.800 at a journalist

00:45:01.480 for a very

00:45:02.120 gentle piece

00:45:03.040 pointing out

00:45:03.620 Bluey is great

00:45:04.860 but maybe

00:45:05.220 doesn't represent

00:45:05.740 everyone

00:45:06.120 and is something

00:45:06.620 to think about

00:45:07.200 is why this country

00:45:09.000 can never have

00:45:09.480 a serious

00:45:10.320 she continued

00:45:11.780 quote

00:45:12.080 you might not

00:45:12.980 see yourself

00:45:13.600 or your family

00:45:14.180 represented all the

00:45:15.100 time but if

00:45:15.680 you're white 0.98

00:45:16.080 able-bodied

00:45:16.740 and working

00:45:17.260 slash middle

00:45:17.760 class

00:45:18.040 you're not

00:45:18.940 short of

00:45:19.340 options

00:45:19.740 okay

00:45:21.840 two quick 0.75

00:45:23.400 points here

00:45:23.860 first

00:45:25.740 I agree

00:45:27.220 that we can't

00:45:27.720 have serious

00:45:28.160 conversations

00:45:28.680 but it's

00:45:29.040 precisely because

00:45:29.920 this kind of

00:45:30.940 conversation

00:45:31.480 racial representation

00:45:32.460 in a cartoon

00:45:33.360 show about

00:45:33.880 fictional dogs

00:45:34.860 drowns out

00:45:35.940 the serious

00:45:36.520 conversation

00:45:37.140 this isn't

00:45:39.320 the serious

00:45:39.700 conversation

00:45:40.120 we need to

00:45:40.520 have

00:45:40.720 it's the

00:45:41.080 unserious

00:45:41.560 conversation

00:45:42.060 that we're

00:45:42.820 having instead

00:45:43.600 second

00:45:45.440 part of the

00:45:46.700 whole point

00:45:47.180 of a children's

00:45:47.920 show is for

00:45:48.380 children to

00:45:48.860 use their

00:45:49.260 imagination

00:45:49.820 they see

00:45:51.900 themselves in

00:45:52.700 these stories

00:45:53.400 and in these

00:45:53.860 characters through

00:45:55.060 their imaginative

00:45:56.040 faculties

00:45:56.920 you don't need to

00:45:58.300 spoon feed it to

00:45:59.180 them

00:45:59.420 the idea of

00:46:00.880 representation

00:46:01.360 actually limits

00:46:02.940 representation in a

00:46:04.280 certain way

00:46:04.840 okay so if you say 0.98

00:46:06.440 to a black child 0.99

00:46:07.160 hey look this dog is 0.99

00:46:09.000 the representative for 0.98

00:46:09.740 black people 1.00

00:46:10.300 that's your dog 1.00

00:46:11.200 you can see yourself

00:46:12.140 in that dog

00:46:12.700 when you say that

00:46:14.620 you've limited the

00:46:15.640 child

00:46:15.980 never mind the

00:46:17.860 as noted

00:46:18.380 rather dicey

00:46:19.180 proposition of

00:46:19.820 how exactly you

00:46:20.660 represent a human

00:46:21.620 race in a dog

00:46:22.740 the even bigger

00:46:24.240 issue is that

00:46:24.740 you've limited the

00:46:25.460 children in the

00:46:26.120 audience

00:46:26.480 you're saying to 0.99

00:46:27.900 the black children 0.99

00:46:28.500 here's your 0.99

00:46:29.180 character

00:46:29.560 and to the

00:46:30.600 Asian children

00:46:31.180 here's yours

00:46:32.120 and so on

00:46:34.040 and so on

00:46:34.440 and the white 0.51

00:46:35.080 kids you don't 0.98

00:46:35.520 need one

00:46:35.880 but what children

00:46:37.960 really want to

00:46:38.640 do and what

00:46:39.420 they're very good

00:46:40.020 at doing if you

00:46:40.680 let them is to

00:46:41.800 relate to and

00:46:42.780 see themselves in

00:46:43.660 any and all

00:46:44.640 characters

00:46:45.160 that's also how

00:46:46.760 they learn empathy

00:46:47.580 you know

00:46:49.640 they don't see

00:46:50.880 the world through

00:46:51.560 the lens of

00:46:52.220 racial identity

00:46:53.040 unless you force

00:46:54.160 them to

00:46:54.680 and the great

00:46:56.280 tragedy right now

00:46:57.100 is that we are

00:46:57.900 forcing them to

00:46:58.760 instead of letting

00:47:00.580 them be individuals

00:47:01.640 we're forcing them

00:47:02.340 to see themselves

00:47:03.260 as nothing but

00:47:04.440 representatives of

00:47:05.540 their racial category

00:47:06.680 it's perverse

00:47:08.060 it's dehumanizing

00:47:09.620 it causes racism

00:47:12.080 it causes a lack

00:47:14.340 of empathy

00:47:14.840 it doesn't solve

00:47:16.120 those problems

00:47:16.700 it causes it

00:47:17.520 and that after

00:47:19.260 all is the

00:47:20.480 whole point

00:47:20.880 and it's why

00:47:22.300 Beverly Wang

00:47:23.080 and anyone else
