00:00:00.000 Today on The Matt Wells Show, the governor of Texas has provoked extreme outrage from the left
00:00:03.980 by declaring that all so-called gender-affirming medical care of minors in the state now qualifies
00:00:08.980 and will be prosecuted as child abuse. He's facing backlash and mutiny over this,
00:00:13.360 but he's obviously completely correct. We'll talk about why. Also, the latest on the crisis
00:00:16.880 in Ukraine and the incompetent response from the Biden administration. Speaking of which,
00:00:20.540 John Kerry has come out to explain that global war is bad, mainly because of all the carbon
00:00:25.360 emissions. Plus, Biden announces his Supreme Court pick. Lots of news today in our daily
00:00:29.260 cancellation. The celebs are chiming in on the Ukraine situation, and their contributions to
00:00:33.820 the conversation have so far been far worse than you can imagine. I'll play something for you today
00:00:37.260 that is so cringy and embarrassing that it probably needs some kind of Surgeon General warning attached
00:00:41.600 to it. All of that and more today on The Matt Wells Show. You know, 40 years ago, Ronald Reagan saw
00:00:54.980 massive inflation unlike anything the country had ever seen before until today. And Reagan's own
00:00:59.100 words, inflation is as violent as a mugger, as frightening as an armed robber and as deadly
00:01:03.020 as a hitman. Right now, your retirement accounts are under attack thanks to the inflationary policies
00:01:07.520 of this administration. If you've not yet called Birch Gold the only people I trust to help you
00:01:11.880 diversify your 401ks and IRAs into gold, then you're missing the boat. Actually, you're treading
00:01:16.000 water without a life vest. Birch Gold has your life vest. Let them help you convert an IRA or 401k
00:01:22.100 into a tax-sheltered IRA in gold. With thousands of satisfied customers and an A-plus rating with the
00:01:27.140 Better Business Bureau, you can trust Birch Gold to protect your savings. And all you got to do is
00:01:32.160 text Walsh to 989898 to get a free info get on gold. Reagan knew the biggest threat to your wealth.
00:01:38.300 And you can protect your wealth and protect yourself now. And you can do it with Birch Gold. It's very
00:01:42.780 easy. All you have to do to make that happen is text Walsh to 989898. Again, it's Walsh to 989898
00:01:49.180 to get your free info kit now. We will have the latest on the Ukraine situation at the top of
00:01:54.420 the five headlines. But while important events unfold overseas, there are things happening closer
00:01:59.340 to home which still deserve our attention. One of the consequences of living in a society effectively
00:02:04.140 run by social media and cable news is that it can be hard to properly prioritize things or to know
00:02:09.920 where we should focus our attention at any given time, because lots of things tend to get lost in
00:02:13.840 the shuffle. Even things that are happening right in front of you can get lost. Binoculars are good
00:02:19.420 because they help you see things that are happening far away. It can often be useful to know what's
00:02:23.840 over the horizon. But if you walk around with binoculars on every day, all day, it's going to
00:02:29.000 wreak havoc on your depth perception. And soon you'll be not able to distinguish far from near. And lots of
00:02:34.460 things closest to you will escape your sight completely. And I think thanks to modern media, we're all
00:02:39.620 basically walking around with binoculars on all the time. Except in this case, the binoculars
00:02:44.340 themselves are unreliable. You can never be sure if the images you're seeing are distorted or not.
00:02:49.540 Maybe a funhouse mirror would be a better analogy. But in any case, all of that to say, I want to begin
00:02:54.660 with a significant series of events unfolding here in the United States, though you may or may not have
00:02:59.200 heard about it. In Texas this week, Governor Abbott announced that so-called gender-affirming care for
00:03:05.080 minors would be treated and prosecuted as child abuse in the state. Here's a national review with a report on
00:03:10.880 this. It says, quote, Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday ordered the Texas Department of Family and Protective
00:03:14.980 Services to investigate doctors and parents who enable a child's gender transition surgery. Abbott's direction
00:03:20.940 comes after DFPS confirmed in August that gender transition surgery on children constitutes child abuse when
00:03:26.580 Abbott asked the department to issue a determination on the matter. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also said
00:03:31.620 earlier this week that gender transition procedures, including hormone therapy, puberty blockers, and
00:03:35.500 sex reassignment procedures are abuse under existing law. Abbott wrote in a letter to DFPS on Tuesday
00:03:40.860 directing DFPS to, quote, conduct a prompt and thorough investigation of any reported instances of these
00:03:46.480 abusive procedures in the state of Texas. The governor writes that the Attorney General's opinion makes
00:03:51.040 clear it is already against the law to subject Texas children to a wide variety of elective procedures
00:03:55.420 for gender transition, including reassignment surgery that can cause sterilization, mastectomies,
00:04:00.140 removal of otherwise healthy body parts, and administration of puberty-blocking drugs,
00:04:05.420 or supra-physiologic doses of testosterone or estrogen. The letter was also sent to other Texas
00:04:10.580 agencies, including the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Texas Medical Board,
00:04:15.240 and the Texas Education Agency. So this was at Texas actually, I believe, last year. They tried to
00:04:21.640 pass a law banning these procedures, and it didn't make it through. And so now Greg Abbott is saying,
00:04:29.280 you know what, it's already banned because child abuse is banned in this state, and this is child
00:04:34.680 abuse. Now, we'll talk about why this move was entirely justified and necessary in a moment. But
00:04:42.240 first, I think we have to tell the rest of the story. Because as you would expect, the backlash
00:04:47.220 against this move by the Texas governor has been severe. Five leftist DAs in Texas have already
00:04:53.440 announced that they're not going to follow the order. They're going to defy the governor's order
00:04:56.800 and refuse to prosecute this kind of child abuse because they're big fans of child abuse.
00:05:01.160 And I'm paraphrasing what they said, but this is basically what they said, that they're big fans
00:05:04.760 of child abuse, and they want to see more of it, and they're not going to prosecute it.
00:05:08.400 I mean, they want to see more kids with, you know, their body parts chopped off. That's the,
00:05:12.740 they're into it. They like it. And so this sort of mutiny is happening in Texas. And this comes after
00:05:19.140 several days of hysterical outrage from the left in the trans lobby. Celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis
00:05:25.300 and Busy Phillips, both of whom have trans or non-binary quote unquote children, have spoken
00:05:30.320 out. So is the actress formerly known as Ellen Page. Gabrielle Union, also the parent of a quote
00:05:36.280 trans kid, called the policy dangerous and horrific. Josh Gad, who's the guy who voices the snowman in
00:05:42.800 Frozen, said it's pure evil. The media has published articles, you know, with dramatic headlines
00:05:48.200 claiming that Texas is quote denying health care to trans youth. And sometimes the headlines are even
00:05:53.640 less subtle, like this one in The Nation that says, Texas is terrorizing trans youth. And of course,
00:05:59.420 as expected, there have been the emotional interviews with some of the parents who are
00:06:03.060 now rightly categorized as abusers by Abbott's new policy. Here's just one example.
00:06:09.140 They are parents of a child who is transgender. And you may remember in 2016, when they invited
00:06:14.420 Attorney General Ken Paxton over for dinner to discuss trans rights. Well, fast forward six years.
00:06:20.440 For him to call us the child abusers is such a betrayal. Earlier this week, Governor Greg Abbott
00:06:29.440 and the Attorney General wrote to state departments calling gender affirming procedures as quote
00:06:34.300 child abuse, asking them to investigate. So it's not really a question of whether it's health care,
00:06:39.360 right? It's a question of what authority parents have. And that parental authority is federally
00:06:44.480 protected. Joanna Grossman is a law professor at SMU. She teaches family and gender law,
00:06:49.740 says the only teeth in these directives is fear.
00:06:54.160 For him to sit at our table and call us child abusers. How about invite me over for dinner?
00:07:00.720 I'll come have dinner with you. And I'll look you in your face in your own house and call you
00:07:04.720 child abusers because that's what you are. You should be in prison. You don't deserve to have
00:07:09.340 your kids. You're hurting them. You're bad people. You don't love your kids. Because when you love
00:07:17.620 your kids, you don't do this to them, you don't poison them and mutilate them.
00:07:21.740 Now, you notice that now suddenly the left cares about parental rights. They believe that parents
00:07:26.440 have essentially two rights. First, to kill their children in the womb and then to have them
00:07:31.140 castrated or mutilated outside of the womb. That's like pretty much the entire list. That exhausts the
00:07:35.840 list of parental rights as far as they see it. Beto O'Rourke, seeking to complete the trifecta by
00:07:42.000 losing a Senate race, a presidential primary race, and now a governor's race, put out a video
00:07:45.980 as he's running for governor now, shortly after the announcement, making the familiar and totally
00:07:51.500 false connection between so-called gender-affirming care and a reduction in suicide among so-called
00:07:57.180 trans youth. Let's watch that.
00:08:00.120 I've been on bio youth in the education system of Texas. I was wondering what you were going to do
00:08:04.620 to protect my rights and my parents' rights to be able to put me on testosterone.
00:08:08.480 The trans suicide rate has been the highest it's ever been in Texas,
00:08:10.920 since those bills have been placed.
00:08:12.480 I mean, we're seeing people trying to take their lives right now, and it's a tough thing for us to
00:08:16.320 talk about, but you're right. We should say it out loud. So we speak about everyone in this state
00:08:21.040 with pride. We talk about a Texas that is big enough for all of us. We target no one based on
00:08:27.160 any difference between us, whether it is the color of your skin, your country of national origin,
00:08:32.900 or the fact that you are non-binary. I think you're amazing. I'm proud of you. I want you to do great
00:08:38.460 things in this state, and I'm going to support you in doing that. And I'm going to say that publicly
00:08:43.200 as the governor of this state. That's going to be a big change for Texas.
00:08:46.440 It just feels like he would be defending me and caring about my rights as a trans non-binary
00:08:50.720 person. It feels like he'd care, and he'd actually listen to our voices and our thoughts about
00:08:55.200 everything.
00:08:55.720 So inspiring, Beto. Now let's introduce some reality. First of all, there is no evidence at
00:09:04.460 all that sex change procedures in children, whether drugs or surgery, will prevent them
00:09:08.900 from committing suicide later in life. That's a lie. Just a lie. That's all it is. One of many
00:09:14.960 things that these people tell. They use suicide as emotional blackmail. That's how evil they are.
00:09:21.540 Coercing people and parents into tolerating the mutilation of children based on a false choice
00:09:26.620 that either children will be mutilated or they'll kill themselves. I mean, that's the choice that's
00:09:31.600 presented. Well, we can drug and poison and mutilate them, or they can kill themselves. Your choice.
00:09:37.780 No, that's not the choice. It's not grounded in reality. In fact, available studies show that the
00:09:45.540 suicide rate among trans people remains enormously high whether they have surgery or not.
00:09:52.800 There are no reliable studies that show that trans people have sky-high suicide rates, and then you
00:09:58.500 get them surgery, and you put them in a really affirming environment, and then the suicide rate
00:10:03.640 goes down to the national average. No such studies exist because it's not true. Why? Because being at
00:10:12.980 war with your identity, unable to accept yourself for who you truly are, breeds despair, and no drug or
00:10:20.480 surgery can solve it. The only way to solve it is to help the gender-confused individual to see reality
00:10:27.000 and embrace it for what it is, and embrace themselves for who they are. You know, and by the way, if we
00:10:36.400 need this in order to prevent suicide, was there a whole, 20 years ago, was there a whole rash of kids
00:10:43.620 killing themselves? Because at that point, none of them were allowed to get so-called gender-affirming
00:10:49.420 care? I mean, you go back 20 years ago, and this basically didn't exist. I mean, there were pretty much
00:10:55.040 no kids being subjected to this, or very, very few. Was there an epidemic of suicide for all those
00:11:02.580 years of kids who were not able to be mutilated and drugged, and so they killed themselves? Was that
00:11:07.840 happening? No, it wasn't. Because this, again, is a lie. Also, keep this in mind. Whenever you hear
00:11:16.580 these breezy statements about the supposed long-term benefits of this kind of, quote, medical treatment
00:11:21.780 and children, remember that never before in history have millions of children been subjected
00:11:25.580 to this treatment. Nobody can know the long-term effects for sure, because this hasn't been done
00:11:30.460 before. The current crop of children are lab rats. It's an enormous social and medical experiment being
00:11:36.480 conducted on an entire generation of children. So check back in 20 years to see how it turned out.
00:11:42.840 Though we can already make some common-sense predictions, and none of them are good.
00:11:46.160 Here's the point. Well, there's really two points. One, it is a simple fact that what they're calling
00:11:53.680 medical treatment can more accurately be described as poisoning, castration, and mutilation, in a very
00:11:58.960 literal and straightforward sense. When you give unnecessary hormone pills to physically healthy
00:12:02.820 minors, you're poisoning them. When you give a drug like Lupron to a pubescent boy to block puberty,
00:12:08.380 you are chemically castrating him, which is why the very same drug has been used to chemically
00:12:12.240 castrate sex offenders. And when you perform a medically unnecessary double mastectomy on a
00:12:17.040 physically healthy 14-year-old girl, as is currently happening all across the country, to 14-year-olds,
00:12:23.460 you are mutilating her. Does it count as abuse when you drug, poison, castrate, and butcher children?
00:12:31.180 Well, I'm unaware of any workable definition of abuse that would exempt those things. Secondly,
00:12:37.100 none of the children consenting to this treatment are consenting. They can't. All of our laws,
00:12:44.420 especially the laws prohibiting things like child molestation, are grounded in the idea that minors
00:12:49.480 cannot fully consent, even if they say yes to something verbally that does not qualify as full
00:12:53.900 consent, because they lack the maturity and the psychological development and the perspective
00:12:59.080 necessary to make informed, rational, and healthy decisions for themselves. This is also why when a 14-year-old
00:13:06.500 commits a crime, in most cases they aren't charged as adults. Why? Well, because we say they did this
00:13:15.780 thing, it was bad, but they couldn't have fully chosen to do it because they didn't fully understand
00:13:21.580 what they were doing. And yet the same people who want us to believe that 12-year-olds can consent to
00:13:31.360 having their bodies drugged and mutilated, those same people would say that, you know, even 18-year-olds
00:13:38.480 shouldn't be tried as adults because they don't know what they're doing.
00:13:43.600 I mean, like, make a, remember the 16-year-old kids who carjacked a guy in D.C. and killed him?
00:13:51.080 And all they cared about afterwards was finding their phone?
00:13:56.920 Let's, like, make a Venn diagram where, you know, you've got the people who supported trying
00:14:02.740 those girls as children, not adults, and also the people who think that, because they didn't know
00:14:09.680 what they're doing, and also the people who think that 10-year-olds can consent to gender-affirming
00:14:13.880 care. There's going to be a lot of people in that middle bubble there, a lot of overlap in those
00:14:19.820 groups, which is incoherent. And because children can't choose these treatments, they also cannot
00:14:27.000 choose the consequences that will come down the road. Thousands of kids, soon to be millions of
00:14:32.240 kids, are undergoing medical procedures that will make them sterile and infertile for life.
00:14:37.800 Can they choose that? Can a 13-year-old actually choose to never have children?
00:14:43.880 What does a choice mean made by someone that age? You know, when I was 20, I thought I'd never have
00:14:49.960 kids. I couldn't imagine wanting kids when I was 20, as an adult. By 25, I had two.
00:14:58.300 So what about 13? I can't even remember what I thought at 13, because it was so long ago,
00:15:02.780 and I was so young that I might as well have been a different person. Kids are making lifelong
00:15:08.640 decisions now that their older selves will have to live with forever. There's a reason why, you know,
00:15:15.900 when you think back to your childhood, your memories often have a kind of dream-like quality to them.
00:15:21.760 And sometimes you might even confuse a dream from your childhood with an actual event,
00:15:27.220 because the two are sort of stored in your brain in the same way, and you remember them the same way.
00:15:32.440 They have the same kind of texture to them and feeling to them. Why is that? Because you viewed
00:15:37.300 the world so differently when you were a kid. You experienced it so differently. You had such
00:15:42.960 a different perspective that your memories are like dreams. Can you imagine if you were saddled with a
00:15:49.200 lifelong physical disability because of something that you decided way back then? And can you imagine
00:15:54.120 if your parents went along with it? How could you ever talk to your parents again?
00:16:02.880 Well, soon many millions of young adults will be in exactly that spot. There is a wave of misery coming
00:16:08.200 that we cannot even comprehend unless we stop it now. Now let's get to our five headlines.
00:16:15.800 We live in a very exhausting world, and that's why I'm so grateful every day for Helix Sleep, my Helix

00:17:35.060 All right, so let's check in with the Biden administration and their response to the crisis in Ukraine.
00:17:41.660 So we got a few. We'll start with John Kerry with a clip that is like so many others. It's
00:17:51.460 something that you could take this and put it on the Babylon Bee, and you would believe that it was
00:17:57.880 parody, but this is actual real life. So we'll get to that in a second. But let's go through some of
00:18:02.740 these clips of Joe Biden addressing the nation yesterday and answering questions in a press
00:18:09.580 conference, a few questions anyway, about his response to Putin and what he's going to do about
00:18:14.820 it. So let's go down the list here and start with clip 5A.
00:18:18.500 If sanctions cannot stop President Putin, what penalty can?
00:18:23.560 I didn't say sanctions couldn't stop him.
00:18:25.840 You've been talking about the threat of these sanctions for several weeks now.
00:18:28.700 Yes, but the threat of the sanctions and imposing the sanctions and seeing the effect of the sanctions
00:18:33.120 are two different things. They're two different things. And we're now going to, he's going to begin to see the effect of the sanctions.
00:18:41.240 And what will that do? How will that change his mindset here, given he's attacking Ukraine?
00:18:45.760 Because it will so weaken his country that he'll have to make a very, very difficult choice as to whether to continue
00:18:51.640 to move toward being a second rate power or, in fact, respond.
00:18:55.440 You said in recent weeks that big nations cannot bluff when it comes to something like this.
00:19:00.240 You recently said that the idea of personally sanctioning President Putin was on the table.
00:19:04.720 Is that a step that you're prepared to take? And if not a bluff, it's on the table.
00:19:09.340 Sanctioning President Putin?
00:19:10.760 Yes.
00:19:11.200 Why not sanction him today, sir?
00:19:12.860 Mr. President?
00:19:14.040 Why not sanction him today, sir?
00:19:16.420 So we're not going to we're not going to go after Putin personally.
00:19:18.860 We're not going to do anything to make him hurt personally.
00:19:20.520 And, you know, the other the other real big thing here is that we're not going to do anything about oil and gas.
00:19:29.080 I mean, we you know, we still are going to be relying on Russia for our energy needs,
00:19:34.840 just like the entire Western world is.
00:19:38.800 Because we have no choice at this point.
00:19:42.380 I mean, he has us literally against a barrel here.
00:19:45.000 He has us over over a barrel in more ways than one.
00:19:50.520 Because we have the opportunity leading up to this to make ourselves or at least get closer to the objective of energy independence.
00:19:59.300 But Biden put a stop to that.
00:20:02.100 Democrats have been have been fighting against that.
00:20:05.200 For years now.
00:20:08.520 And so what do we do now?
00:20:10.720 Well, we have these toothless, pointless sanctions.
00:20:14.900 Let's go to clip six.
00:20:16.640 Clearly have not been enough to deter Vladimir Putin to this point.
00:20:20.080 What is going to stop him?
00:20:22.420 How and when does this end?
00:20:24.780 And do you see him trying to go beyond Ukraine?
00:20:27.720 And a second question I'll just give to you now.
00:20:29.540 This statement that he gave last night will that the wet the threat that he gave the West will face consequences greater than any you have faced in history.
00:20:37.320 Is he threatening a nuclear strike?
00:20:38.820 I have no idea what he's threatening.
00:20:43.400 I know what he has done, number one.
00:20:46.600 And number two, no one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening.
00:20:52.880 It has to show this could take time and we have to show resolve so he knows what's coming.
00:20:59.580 And so the people of Russia know what he's brought on them.
00:21:02.720 That's what this is all about.
00:21:04.280 This is going to take time.
00:21:05.600 It's not going to occur.
00:21:06.780 He's going to say, oh, my God, these sanctions are coming.
00:21:09.100 I'm going to stand down.
00:21:10.680 He's going to test the resolve of the West to see if we stay together.
00:21:13.600 And we will.
00:21:14.880 We will.
00:21:15.740 And it will impose significant costs on him.
00:21:18.640 I think the most significant thing in that clip is the president of the United States was asked, sir, are we going to be nuked?
00:21:27.520 And his answer was, well, I have no idea.
00:21:30.440 Maybe.
00:21:31.320 Stay tuned and find out.
00:21:32.660 But you could not possibly select someone who's less equipped to handle a moment like this than Joe Biden.
00:21:45.580 I mean, that alone should be, and there's just so many things happening, but that alone is major headline news.
00:21:52.960 The president of the United States could not offer any assurance that we won't get nuked.
00:21:58.780 Because he also has no idea what he's saying.
00:22:01.080 And you can tell based on the words he's using.
00:22:04.540 You can also just see it in his eyes that he always looks lost.
00:22:09.660 And that's why I always say that I prefer if he doesn't, I know he often gets criticized because he doesn't appear before the media enough.
00:22:18.900 He takes too long to get out and address situations like this.
00:22:25.560 When the invasion was first underway, you know, Donald Trump was speaking about it and he was on top of it.
00:22:31.100 But Biden was asleep.
00:22:34.100 Biden said, I'll get to it in the morning.
00:22:37.880 And what you hear oftentimes from the right and even on the left is a criticism that we need to see more of him.
00:22:42.760 I disagree completely.
00:22:44.100 I think the more time he spends on TV, on camera, the worse it is for everybody.
00:22:53.800 Because you could just tell that he is this bumbling, confused, totally lost, doddering old man.
00:22:59.520 It doesn't help at all in any way to have that image projected.
00:23:08.060 I would prefer if he just doesn't appear on camera again.
00:23:10.660 Okay, let's go to this.
00:23:15.500 So John Kerry is, what is his official title?
00:23:18.560 He's, I think, the climate ambassador.
00:23:21.060 So he's also a doddering old, confused man.
00:23:26.220 And he could just go off and retire and be done.
00:23:30.240 But he doesn't want to do that.
00:23:31.360 He has to hang on to some semblance of power.
00:23:33.940 He tried to be president.
00:23:34.900 That didn't work out.
00:23:36.340 He was in the Senate for a long time.
00:23:37.900 And so he just, give him some kind of title.
00:23:41.140 Give him something to do.
00:23:41.880 He needs to feel important.
00:23:42.820 So they made him climate ambassador.
00:23:46.280 And here he is speaking to the media.
00:23:50.580 And this was before the invasion actually happened.
00:23:53.940 But here's his primary concern.
00:23:56.640 Let's listen to this.
00:23:58.360 I'm very concerned about, I'm concerned about Ukraine because of the people of Ukraine
00:24:04.040 and because of the principles that are at risk in terms of international law
00:24:09.220 and trying to change boundaries of international law by force.
00:24:14.080 I thought we lived in a world that had said no to that kind of activity.
00:24:18.800 And I hope diplomacy will win.
00:24:20.900 But massive emissions consequences to the war.
00:24:25.140 But equally importantly, you're going to lose people's focus.
00:24:28.740 You're going to lose certainly big country attention
00:24:31.820 because they will be diverted and I think it could have a damaging impact.
00:24:37.360 So, you know, I think hopefully President Putin would realize
00:24:40.340 that in the northern part of his country,
00:24:42.880 they used to live on 66% of a nation that was over frozen land.
00:24:48.220 Now it's thawing.
00:24:49.940 And his infrastructure is at risk.
00:24:52.560 And the people of Russia are at risk.
00:24:54.680 And so I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track
00:24:58.700 with respect to what we need to do for the climate.
00:25:02.500 Well, that'll do it.
00:25:03.920 Just tell Putin that it's hurting the environment.
00:25:06.660 And I'm sure that'll convince him.
00:25:08.780 So as far as John Kerry is concerned,
00:25:11.340 the prospect of a major war, of even world war,
00:25:14.580 it's bad for two reasons.
00:25:17.220 And one is that think of all the emissions
00:25:19.280 that are going to be spewed into the air.
00:25:23.700 But then also, let's not make a straw man of his argument.
00:25:27.320 That's not the only thing, the only problem with a world war.
00:25:31.640 The second, and he says equally as important,
00:25:33.920 is that it will distract people's focus
00:25:36.180 from the problem of emissions and climate change.
00:25:39.420 We have very unserious people running the government.
00:25:47.740 We have become a very unserious nation and civilization.
00:25:53.480 Which makes us, again, woefully unequipped
00:25:56.400 for serious moments like this.
00:25:59.540 And speaking of being unserious,
00:26:01.200 here's another example,
00:26:03.120 not just in the government, but also in media.
00:26:04.960 So The View, you know, if you tune into The View,
00:26:07.880 whoever makes the mistake of doing that,
00:26:09.740 maybe, I don't know what you're expecting
00:26:13.080 when it comes to something like this.
00:26:14.400 I don't know if you're expecting
00:26:15.140 real insight into geopolitics
00:26:20.040 from the ladies of The View.
00:26:21.520 But if that's what you're looking for,
00:26:22.580 you're going to be disappointed.
00:26:23.920 Here is Joy Behar.
00:26:25.620 What's her main concern?
00:26:28.180 What does she worry might happen
00:26:29.840 if this conflict spreads and becomes a world war?
00:26:33.200 Yeah, there's global warming.
00:26:34.780 But as far as she's concerned,
00:26:36.420 there's a consequence even more dire than that.
00:26:39.480 Listen.
00:26:40.940 Estimates are 50,000 Ukrainians will be dead or wounded.
00:26:45.320 Yeah.
00:26:45.540 And that this is going to start a humanitarian crisis,
00:26:48.940 a refugee crisis in Europe.
00:26:50.500 We're talking about 5 million people
00:26:52.180 that are going to be displaced.
00:26:54.560 I mean, it's heartbreaking to hear
00:26:57.960 what is going to happen.
00:26:59.740 Yeah.
00:27:00.180 Well, I'm scared of what's going to happen
00:27:01.580 in Western Europe, too.
00:27:03.180 Yeah.
00:27:03.680 You know, you just, you plan a trip.
00:27:05.300 You want to go there.
00:27:06.160 I want to go to Italy for four years.
00:27:07.620 I haven't been able to make it
00:27:08.860 because of the pandemic.
00:27:11.120 And now this, you know,
00:27:12.300 it's like, who's going to,
00:27:13.380 what's going to happen there?
00:27:15.520 And now this.
00:27:17.980 First, there was a pandemic
00:27:19.140 of 5 million people died
00:27:20.120 and it stopped me from taking
00:27:20.920 my Italy vacation
00:27:22.480 that I've wanted to take.
00:27:23.480 It's been my dream.
00:27:24.220 And now we have war.
00:27:26.940 What else?
00:27:28.000 What else is going to happen to me
00:27:29.360 as Joy Behar?
00:27:30.280 So I think some very compelling arguments
00:27:32.840 have been presented to Putin.
00:27:35.420 And hopefully he's paying attention
00:27:37.200 because, listen,
00:27:39.160 you got to stop this
00:27:40.140 because if you don't,
00:27:42.280 it's going to kill more polar bears
00:27:43.860 from global warming.
00:27:45.040 And if that's not enough
00:27:46.280 to persuade you,
00:27:47.840 Mr. President,
00:27:48.940 then also you're preventing Joy Behar
00:27:51.420 from going on an Italian vacation
00:27:53.560 that, by the way,
00:27:54.900 she's wanted to take for four years.
00:27:59.000 We'll have to see.
00:28:00.760 We'll have to see if that,
00:28:01.760 if that does the trick.
00:28:03.620 Okay, let's,
00:28:04.820 let's go.
00:28:06.220 This is hot off the presses here.
00:28:07.900 President Biden's from Fox.
00:28:08.920 President Biden is nominating
00:28:10.000 Judge Kentonji Brown Jackson
00:28:12.060 to the Supreme Court,
00:28:13.440 making good on a campaign promise
00:28:14.720 to pick the first black woman
00:28:16.320 for the nation's highest court.
00:28:18.180 Brown Jackson, 51,
00:28:19.940 is a judge for the U.S. Court
00:28:21.180 of Appeals
00:28:21.640 for the District of Columbia.
00:28:23.700 Biden will make the announcement
00:28:24.660 on Friday.
00:28:25.840 Brown Jackson has faced
00:28:27.160 heightened scrutiny
00:28:27.680 over a judicial record
00:28:28.840 that includes high-profile rulings
00:28:30.400 later overruled by higher judges.
00:28:33.320 Beyond that,
00:28:34.360 I'm just seeing this news now,
00:28:36.580 so I don't know anything else about her.
00:28:38.200 Is she a crazy far-left wacko?
00:28:41.420 You can assume
00:28:42.500 because a Democrat
00:28:44.220 wouldn't nominate anybody else.
00:28:48.040 But one thing that I'm hearing,
00:28:50.360 really from,
00:28:51.440 actually from both sides,
00:28:52.640 and even some Republicans
00:28:53.620 have come out already
00:28:54.640 and said that,
00:28:55.380 well,
00:28:55.560 she's very qualified
00:28:57.600 for the job.
00:28:59.280 And that's what we're hearing
00:29:00.200 from the media.
00:29:00.740 She's a super-qualified nominee.
00:29:05.700 If you look at her record,
00:29:06.800 you look at all of her experience,
00:29:07.820 very, very qualified
00:29:08.460 for the job.
00:29:09.980 And she might be.
00:29:11.340 She might be very qualified.
00:29:12.960 Like I said,
00:29:15.860 I haven't looked at her resume.
00:29:16.980 I don't know.
00:29:18.320 But this is exactly the problem.
00:29:20.800 This was exactly the problem
00:29:22.860 with coming out ahead of time
00:29:24.720 and saying,
00:29:25.420 I'm going to find a black woman.
00:29:27.940 We're going to narrow it down
00:29:29.000 to begin with
00:29:29.640 to only black women,
00:29:31.460 and I'm not going to consider
00:29:32.580 anybody outside of that.
00:29:35.680 No matter how qualified they are.
00:29:37.300 Well,
00:29:40.120 when you eventually
00:29:41.740 nominate a black woman,
00:29:43.280 even if she is
00:29:44.300 the most qualified candidate
00:29:46.220 of all potential candidates,
00:29:49.300 of all races,
00:29:50.240 you've already undermined
00:29:52.360 those qualifications
00:29:53.280 and undermined your own pick
00:29:54.980 by announcing ahead of time
00:29:58.140 this is going to be
00:29:58.640 an affirmative action thing,
00:29:59.840 and you're only looking at people
00:30:02.280 from a certain race
00:30:03.600 and gender category.
00:30:07.300 And that becomes even dumber.
00:30:09.300 To announce ahead of time,
00:30:10.440 I'm going to pick a black woman,
00:30:11.880 was already a dumb move.
00:30:14.220 It's even dumber
00:30:15.140 if you do end up
00:30:17.000 picking someone
00:30:17.820 who legitimately
00:30:18.820 is the most qualified
00:30:20.280 out of any potential candidate.
00:30:23.380 So if you were going to do that,
00:30:24.680 then why not just
00:30:25.800 nominate her
00:30:27.140 without saying anything
00:30:29.680 ahead of time
00:30:30.220 or making any promises
00:30:31.140 that it's going to be
00:30:31.780 a black woman,
00:30:32.620 just nominate her.
00:30:34.260 And then people will say,
00:30:35.300 oh, you nominated a black woman.
00:30:37.300 And then you can easily say
00:30:40.960 that, well, I nominate her
00:30:41.720 because she's the most qualified.
00:30:45.040 You can't really make
00:30:45.860 that argument now
00:30:46.620 because, again,
00:30:47.660 you said ahead of time
00:30:48.640 that the vast majority
00:30:49.800 of the potential applicants
00:30:51.260 are going to be ruled out
00:30:52.680 from the start
00:30:53.860 because of their race or gender.
00:30:59.480 All right.
00:31:00.100 Let's,
00:31:00.480 I've had this,
00:31:01.760 I also had this case
00:31:02.440 that I've had here
00:31:03.260 on the docket
00:31:03.700 to talk about,
00:31:04.400 and let's get to it now.
00:31:05.440 I'm reading now
00:31:06.520 from the New York Post.
00:31:07.220 This is from a couple days ago,
00:31:08.600 and this is the language
00:31:10.520 they use in their article.
00:31:12.620 Okay, it's not my language.
00:31:14.480 The transgender woman
00:31:15.460 convicted of sexually assaulting
00:31:16.760 a 10-year-old girl
00:31:17.700 reportedly boasted
00:31:19.200 about her two-year sentence
00:31:20.460 as Los Angeles'
00:31:21.660 progressive district attorney
00:31:22.620 admitted the punishment
00:31:24.380 may have been too lenient.
00:31:26.480 District attorney George Gascon,
00:31:28.180 who faces an ongoing recall effort,
00:31:30.700 said Sunday
00:31:31.120 that he would have handled
00:31:31.960 Hannah Tubbs' case differently
00:31:33.800 had he known about her
00:31:35.400 disregard for the harm
00:31:36.860 that she caused
00:31:37.400 her 10-year-old victim.
00:31:40.640 The prosecutor said
00:31:41.480 in a statement,
00:31:41.880 while for most people
00:31:42.820 several years of jail time
00:31:44.320 is adequate,
00:31:44.940 it may not be for Ms. Tubbs.
00:31:47.200 After her sentencing
00:31:47.960 in our case,
00:31:48.460 I became aware
00:31:49.040 of extremely troubling statements
00:31:50.420 she made about her case,
00:31:51.720 the resolution of it,
00:31:52.540 and the young girl
00:31:53.140 that she harmed.
00:31:55.080 While in custody,
00:31:56.020 Tubbs made crude
00:31:57.500 and disparaging comments
00:31:58.660 about the girl
00:31:59.380 that he had victimized
00:32:00.920 while boasting that she,
00:32:04.640 so again,
00:32:05.040 going back to the language
00:32:05.720 in the article,
00:32:06.420 wouldn't have to register
00:32:07.300 as a sex offender
00:32:08.020 citing a recorded call
00:32:09.520 to her father.
00:32:10.060 So we have some of that audio
00:32:11.020 we can play.
00:32:11.440 This is from a Fox 11 report.
00:32:12.820 This is so-called
00:32:14.380 Hannah Tubbs,
00:32:15.800 and if you're watching this
00:32:16.560 on video,
00:32:17.020 you can see the photograph
00:32:18.960 of Ms. Hannah Tubbs,
00:32:22.740 which is just,
00:32:23.660 it's a dude,
00:32:24.360 okay,
00:32:24.600 this is a guy,
00:32:25.720 actually not even making
00:32:27.800 any effort at all
00:32:28.940 to even look like a woman,
00:32:30.580 just a guy
00:32:31.140 with kind of a gross
00:32:33.620 half beard,
00:32:35.700 and just a guy,
00:32:36.380 like a buzz cut.
00:32:39.200 But he said,
00:32:40.200 oh, you know what,
00:32:40.640 actually I'm a woman.
00:32:42.520 And so he's going to get to go,
00:32:43.620 you know,
00:32:43.840 if he went to prison,
00:32:45.160 he'd be going to a woman's prison,
00:32:46.360 except in this case,
00:32:47.060 he's not going to prison
00:32:47.840 because they decided
00:32:49.840 to try him as a minor.
00:32:50.760 Here's some of the recording
00:32:51.780 of Hannah Tubbs
00:32:53.020 talking to,
00:32:53.500 I believe he's talking
00:32:53.900 to his father in jail,
00:32:55.640 and this is some
00:32:56.340 of what came out.
00:32:57.240 Let's listen to that.
00:32:57.980 Don't worry about it,
00:33:00.020 it's a strike,
00:33:00.880 but they're going to plead,
00:33:01.520 I'm going to plead out to him,
00:33:02.340 I'm going to plead guilty,
00:33:03.560 they're going to stick me
00:33:04.060 on probation,
00:33:05.020 and it's going to be dropped,
00:33:06.200 it's going to be done,
00:33:06.820 done.
00:33:07.200 I won't have to register,
00:33:08.320 I won't have to do nothing.
00:33:09.020 For an offender,
00:33:10.180 you don't have to register?
00:33:11.280 I won't have to do none of that.
00:33:12.520 So what are they going to do
00:33:13.300 to you that?
00:33:14.500 Nothing.
00:33:15.540 Gascon now admits
00:33:16.500 the Tubbs sentence
00:33:17.420 not tough enough,
00:33:18.740 saying in a statement,
00:33:20.180 if we knew about her
00:33:21.200 disregard for the harm
00:33:22.440 she caused,
00:33:23.320 we would have handled
00:33:24.220 this case differently.
00:33:25.960 The complex issues
00:33:27.000 and facts of her
00:33:27.980 particular case
00:33:28.740 were unusual
00:33:29.320 and I should have
00:33:30.080 treated them that way.
00:33:32.660 So this again is someone
00:33:33.920 now 26 years old
00:33:35.960 who had a few years ago
00:33:39.100 molested a 10-year-old girl
00:33:40.440 and was sentenced
00:33:42.580 to two years
00:33:44.540 in a juvenile facility,
00:33:46.660 not tried as an adult,
00:33:49.340 and also will not
00:33:52.620 have to register
00:33:53.440 as a sex offender,
00:33:54.320 as you heard him
00:33:55.300 bragging about.
00:33:55.880 He was very excited
00:33:56.600 about it.
00:33:57.920 Not going to have to
00:33:58.620 register as a sex offender.
00:34:00.780 So we're going to
00:34:01.660 let him out,
00:34:03.340 release him onto the public,
00:34:04.400 and we're not going
00:34:06.100 to tell anybody.
00:34:07.840 We're not going to
00:34:09.100 alert the communities
00:34:11.140 about who this guy is
00:34:12.920 and what he's done.
00:34:15.120 So hey,
00:34:15.740 I mean,
00:34:15.960 your kids might go over there
00:34:17.260 and knock on his door
00:34:17.980 for trick-or-treating.
00:34:19.040 You would be none the wiser.
00:34:20.440 Now, again,
00:34:24.040 the prosecutor says
00:34:25.220 that he wasn't aware
00:34:26.140 of these calls,
00:34:27.180 and there was much more
00:34:28.200 that's quote-unquote
00:34:29.480 Hannah Tubbs said
00:34:30.640 in these calls,
00:34:31.500 gloating about the fact,
00:34:32.660 about what he did
00:34:33.500 and disparaging his victim
00:34:35.620 and gloating about
00:34:37.560 the lenient sentence.
00:34:39.160 Although it shouldn't,
00:34:40.220 that shouldn't even matter.
00:34:41.980 Right?
00:34:42.500 The fact that he made
00:34:43.240 these calls
00:34:43.760 and was bragging
00:34:44.300 about the fact
00:34:44.720 that he doesn't have
00:34:45.500 to go to prison,
00:34:46.940 that shouldn't matter.
00:34:48.380 You shouldn't need
00:34:50.040 the calls to know
00:34:51.340 that this perverted freak
00:34:53.080 needs to be behind bars
00:34:54.600 for a long time.
00:34:55.740 I mean,
00:34:55.900 really forever.
00:34:58.760 It actually shouldn't
00:34:59.900 make a difference
00:35:00.560 that he was bragging
00:35:02.400 about it in phone calls.
00:35:04.400 But actually,
00:35:05.140 as it turns out,
00:35:06.020 the DA did know about this.
00:35:08.060 So this is from Fox.
00:35:09.580 It says,
00:35:09.940 Files obtained
00:35:10.520 by Fox News Digital
00:35:11.600 show Los Angeles
00:35:12.420 district attorney
00:35:12.940 George Gascon's office
00:35:14.340 was aware
00:35:15.180 of disturbing jailhouse recordings
00:35:16.560 of transgender child molester
00:35:17.720 Hannah Tubbs
00:35:18.640 gloating about
00:35:19.460 a light sentence
00:35:20.140 on February 2nd.
00:35:21.880 Gascon released
00:35:22.720 a statement Sunday
00:35:23.540 denying knowledge
00:35:24.400 of the recordings
00:35:24.980 until after Tubbs' sentencing.
00:35:26.960 But audio files
00:35:27.700 sent to Gascon's office
00:35:28.700 on February 2nd
00:35:29.680 contained titles
00:35:30.400 such as
00:35:31.020 Pled to Avoid
00:35:32.300 Adult Jail Time,
00:35:34.140 Racist,
00:35:35.480 Time in the Hole
00:35:36.220 Doesn't Care
00:35:36.840 Because He's Been Sentenced,
00:35:38.720 Won't Have to Register,
00:35:40.840 and then other titles as well.
00:35:44.200 Some of them
00:35:44.580 more vulgar.
00:35:45.360 So we have evidence
00:35:48.380 that the DA
00:35:49.040 was given
00:35:50.460 these files
00:35:52.480 and knew about it
00:35:53.280 and still
00:35:54.600 passed down
00:35:55.420 the sentence anyway.
00:35:57.880 And as bad
00:35:58.880 as all that is,
00:36:00.100 just adding
00:36:00.740 insult to injury here,
00:36:03.360 reading these media reports,
00:36:05.280 even from
00:36:06.320 supposedly
00:36:06.960 conservative outlets,
00:36:10.280 media reports
00:36:11.620 that take a negative
00:36:12.820 view of what's happened
00:36:14.440 and rightly so,
00:36:16.520 they still
00:36:17.400 are
00:36:18.760 diligently
00:36:19.960 making sure
00:36:21.000 that they
00:36:21.760 respect the pronouns
00:36:23.040 of this
00:36:24.820 child rapist.
00:36:28.180 Still,
00:36:29.220 and you saw
00:36:29.700 what the guy
00:36:30.120 looked like,
00:36:31.240 this dude
00:36:32.360 who is just
00:36:33.280 a dude,
00:36:35.420 just a,
00:36:36.240 just a,
00:36:36.700 just a guy
00:36:37.460 who,
00:36:39.060 who just declared
00:36:40.140 one day,
00:36:40.580 actually I'm a woman.
00:36:41.140 and even
00:36:44.040 with him,
00:36:44.860 they feel
00:36:45.620 that they have
00:36:46.140 to respect
00:36:46.600 his pronouns
00:36:47.060 and refer to him
00:36:49.040 as a,
00:36:49.300 as a woman.
00:36:51.200 Why?
00:36:52.460 Because you know
00:36:52.940 it's not true
00:36:53.540 and are we worried
00:36:56.100 about this,
00:36:57.240 affirming this man's
00:36:58.360 self-perception?
00:37:00.400 Are you actually
00:37:00.880 worried about
00:37:01.300 hurting his feelings?
00:37:02.140 that's just the,
00:37:06.620 the,
00:37:07.260 the total absurdity
00:37:08.100 of it.
00:37:09.700 Even the people
00:37:10.480 who are outraged
00:37:11.320 by it,
00:37:11.720 and rightly so,
00:37:13.040 still are not
00:37:14.300 so outraged
00:37:15.300 that they would
00:37:16.200 dare hurt
00:37:16.940 this man's
00:37:17.480 feelings
00:37:17.840 by misgendering
00:37:18.860 him.
00:37:20.420 That's what we've
00:37:21.080 gotten.
00:37:21.980 Okay,
00:37:22.160 let's get now
00:37:22.580 to the comment
00:37:23.220 section.
00:37:23.560 Well,
00:37:32.060 if you want
00:37:32.220 to leave a video
00:37:32.700 comment,
00:37:33.020 you can go to
00:37:33.260 dailywire.com
00:37:34.100 slash sweetbabycomments
00:37:35.140 and it says
00:37:36.280 on my clip sheet
00:37:36.800 here that we've
00:37:38.100 got a funny,
00:37:39.620 this is a,
00:37:40.240 in all caps,
00:37:40.980 supposedly a funny
00:37:41.660 comment.
00:37:43.340 That's what McKenna,
00:37:44.400 producer McKenna
00:37:44.880 is claiming anyway,
00:37:45.620 so we'll see.
00:37:46.980 You're on the hook.
00:37:47.740 Let's see.
00:37:48.200 Let's watch.
00:37:49.080 Hey,
00:37:49.520 Mr. Matt Walsh,
00:37:50.520 how's it going?
00:37:51.900 I'm sorry,
00:37:52.700 buddy,
00:37:52.860 I just can't
00:37:53.400 bring myself
00:37:53.900 to call nobody
00:37:54.600 sweetbabydaddy,
00:37:55.680 you know,
00:37:55.960 at least not
00:37:56.680 at this juncture,
00:37:57.660 you know,
00:37:58.320 but it's Uncle
00:37:59.220 Murray here
00:37:59.820 and I saw
00:38:00.620 that one video
00:38:01.300 that you had
00:38:01.880 of the guy
00:38:02.280 returning the
00:38:02.920 shopping carts,
00:38:03.780 you know,
00:38:04.100 the don't make
00:38:05.120 me maddy,
00:38:06.000 sweetbabydaddy,
00:38:07.560 chukapaka,
00:38:08.260 chukapaka,
00:38:09.120 right,
00:38:09.380 and it's all
00:38:09.880 good and
00:38:10.320 everything,
00:38:11.100 but I got this,
00:38:12.400 how about
00:38:12.680 something else?
00:38:13.400 I submit this
00:38:14.720 to you.
00:38:15.440 How about
00:38:15.800 return your
00:38:16.600 bottles,
00:38:17.260 huh?
00:38:17.800 How about
00:38:18.160 we do that?
00:38:19.920 Return your
00:38:20.600 bottles and then
00:38:21.480 you hit the
00:38:21.880 little button
00:38:22.460 and then I go
00:38:22.900 poop and then
00:38:24.060 look at that,
00:38:24.600 you got a little
00:38:25.040 something for your
00:38:25.720 effort,
00:38:26.180 you know,
00:38:26.660 every little bit
00:38:27.280 helps,
00:38:27.740 you see,
00:38:28.120 and then how
00:38:28.600 about this?
00:38:29.360 Return your
00:38:29.860 library books,
00:38:30.940 you lazy schmuck.
00:38:32.500 Some of us are
00:38:33.120 waiting to read
00:38:33.840 them books you
00:38:34.440 got checked out,
00:38:35.320 you know,
00:38:35.580 return your
00:38:36.120 library books
00:38:36.940 or die.
00:38:37.580 Oh,
00:38:37.720 that may be
00:38:38.100 this one,
00:38:38.740 throw away
00:38:39.280 your stupid
00:38:39.820 mass and
00:38:40.700 return to
00:38:41.440 normal,
00:38:42.200 huh?
00:38:42.620 How about
00:38:43.000 that kind of
00:38:43.640 return,
00:38:44.220 huh?
00:38:44.620 Return to
00:38:45.120 normalcy.
00:38:46.500 Oh,
00:38:46.760 but I got
00:38:47.720 the best one
00:38:48.360 though,
00:38:48.580 I got the
00:38:49.280 best one
00:38:49.780 right here,
00:38:50.280 you know,
00:38:50.640 how about,
00:38:51.120 you know,
00:38:51.380 return to
00:38:52.260 Jesus,
00:38:52.940 huh?
00:38:53.500 How about
00:38:53.820 we all do
00:38:54.440 that?
00:38:54.860 That'll take
00:38:55.700 care of the
00:38:56.100 whole mess
00:38:56.600 because,
00:38:57.020 you know,
00:38:57.480 whether you
00:38:57.800 return to
00:38:58.340 Jesus or
00:38:58.900 not,
00:38:59.300 he's coming
00:38:59.820 back and if
00:39:00.820 you haven't
00:39:01.300 returned to
00:39:01.820 Jesus,
00:39:02.280 if you haven't
00:39:02.660 come to him,
00:39:03.320 then the
00:39:03.580 whole thing's
00:39:04.100 going to go
00:39:04.500 south real
00:39:05.100 quick.
00:39:05.520 You want to
00:39:05.920 go to
00:39:06.160 H-E-Double
00:39:06.740 Hockey Sticks?
00:39:07.860 No?
00:39:08.480 Well,
00:39:08.640 then worship
00:39:09.100 Jesus,
00:39:09.800 you moron.
00:39:11.320 But until
00:39:12.040 then,
00:39:12.320 I'll keep
00:39:12.640 returning the
00:39:13.200 shopping carts.
00:39:14.600 Shooka-paka-mattie,
00:39:16.020 sweet baby daddy,
00:39:17.140 long-a-maw.
00:39:20.720 McKenna's
00:39:21.180 banned from
00:39:21.480 the show.
00:39:22.720 This is,
00:39:23.780 how long was
00:39:24.340 that?
00:39:24.600 Seven and a
00:39:25.140 half minutes?
00:39:26.520 What happened?
00:39:27.500 What was that?
00:39:28.640 Why was that?
00:39:30.020 Who goes to
00:39:30.680 libraries?
00:39:31.100 I have a lot
00:39:31.420 of questions.
00:39:33.780 And I'm glad
00:39:34.560 that we could
00:39:34.820 all experience
00:39:35.260 that together.
00:39:37.080 And McKenna,
00:39:39.480 ZipRecruiter is
00:39:40.420 where I would
00:39:40.760 go to find
00:39:41.500 a new job.
00:39:43.100 So,
00:39:43.420 CoolPapaJMagic
00:39:44.700 says,
00:39:45.180 this wouldn't
00:39:45.580 have happened
00:39:46.060 under Trump.
00:39:47.580 Talking about
00:39:48.120 Ukraine now.
00:39:48.960 Well,
00:39:49.320 that video
00:39:50.020 might not
00:39:50.320 have happened
00:39:50.560 under Trump
00:39:50.840 either.
00:39:51.360 This wouldn't
00:39:51.700 have happened
00:39:52.000 under Trump.
00:39:52.760 You can hate
00:39:53.120 him all you
00:39:53.420 want,
00:39:53.640 but it's
00:39:53.880 true.
00:39:55.480 We know
00:39:56.020 that it
00:39:56.220 wouldn't
00:39:56.360 have happened.
00:39:56.660 We don't
00:39:56.800 have to speak
00:39:57.960 hypothetically
00:39:58.640 about it.
00:39:59.100 It didn't
00:39:59.480 happen under
00:39:59.940 Trump.
00:40:01.060 There was
00:40:01.440 four years
00:40:02.460 of relative
00:40:04.500 peace,
00:40:05.380 about as
00:40:05.880 peaceful as
00:40:06.360 the world
00:40:06.640 can possibly
00:40:07.260 be under
00:40:08.940 Trump.
00:40:09.180 You can
00:40:10.540 speculate about
00:40:11.220 why that
00:40:11.720 is and
00:40:12.160 how it
00:40:12.460 turned out
00:40:12.820 that way,
00:40:13.420 but it
00:40:13.720 did not
00:40:14.160 happen under
00:40:14.640 Trump.
00:40:16.840 And I
00:40:17.320 think one
00:40:18.360 of the
00:40:18.620 reasons for
00:40:19.140 that is
00:40:19.780 that Trump
00:40:22.340 was not
00:40:24.520 very predictable.
00:40:26.960 And so I
00:40:27.320 think the
00:40:27.960 world leaders,
00:40:28.600 especially in
00:40:29.100 places like
00:40:29.620 China and
00:40:30.060 Russia,
00:40:30.840 they didn't
00:40:31.560 know exactly
00:40:32.020 what he would
00:40:32.340 do,
00:40:32.520 how he would
00:40:32.800 respond to
00:40:33.180 things.
00:40:33.420 And there
00:40:35.080 are downsides
00:40:36.740 to a lack
00:40:37.940 of predictability
00:40:38.720 in your
00:40:40.780 president,
00:40:41.580 but this is
00:40:42.180 one of the
00:40:42.400 upsides.
00:40:43.220 Now,
00:40:44.100 Biden, on the
00:40:44.680 other hand,
00:40:45.000 is very
00:40:45.300 predictable.
00:40:45.880 I mean,
00:40:46.020 he's a
00:40:46.300 vegetable,
00:40:46.920 and you
00:40:47.780 know exactly
00:40:48.320 what he's
00:40:48.640 going to
00:40:48.940 do,
00:40:49.180 which is
00:40:49.560 basically
00:40:50.060 nothing.
00:40:53.900 Buckman
00:40:54.220 says,
00:40:54.780 I agree with
00:40:55.240 Matt's view
00:40:55.720 on the U.S.
00:40:56.340 convoy.
00:40:56.840 I fear that
00:40:57.260 it's far too
00:40:57.940 disorganized to
00:40:58.940 actually achieve
00:40:59.680 anything.
00:41:00.120 I found
00:41:01.720 out after
00:41:02.140 the fact,
00:41:02.720 a couple
00:41:03.060 people messaged
00:41:04.060 me and said
00:41:05.040 that I played
00:41:05.760 the clip of
00:41:06.340 one of the
00:41:07.240 guys in
00:41:07.740 D.C.
00:41:08.140 who says
00:41:08.540 that he's
00:41:08.880 an organizer
00:41:09.720 of the
00:41:10.480 truck convoy,
00:41:12.020 at least
00:41:12.380 according to
00:41:12.680 some of
00:41:12.840 the comments
00:41:13.060 I've gotten,
00:41:13.400 they said
00:41:13.640 that this
00:41:14.220 guy's not
00:41:14.600 even a
00:41:14.900 trucker.
00:41:15.240 I don't
00:41:15.340 know if
00:41:15.480 that's
00:41:15.640 true or
00:41:15.880 not
00:41:16.020 exactly,
00:41:16.520 but it
00:41:18.620 would be
00:41:19.100 kind of
00:41:19.340 interesting
00:41:19.780 if you
00:41:20.140 have
00:41:20.280 non-truckers
00:41:21.180 that are
00:41:21.360 now involved
00:41:22.020 in organizing
00:41:22.760 this truck
00:41:23.240 convoy.
00:41:26.220 Yeah,
00:41:26.720 I think
00:41:27.140 if you're
00:41:28.220 going to do
00:41:28.580 something like
00:41:29.180 this,
00:41:30.120 at a
00:41:31.720 minimum,
00:41:32.520 you have
00:41:33.200 to have
00:41:33.400 very clear
00:41:33.920 goals in
00:41:34.320 mind like
00:41:34.580 we talked
00:41:34.840 about
00:41:35.000 yesterday.
00:41:35.380 You have
00:41:35.460 to know
00:41:35.680 exactly why
00:41:36.280 you're doing
00:41:36.640 it and
00:41:37.100 have a
00:41:37.380 unified
00:41:37.720 message.
00:41:40.280 One of
00:41:40.820 the many
00:41:41.000 problems
00:41:41.260 with this
00:41:41.500 convoy is
00:41:42.100 depending on
00:41:42.600 who you're
00:41:42.860 listening to
00:41:43.560 and who's
00:41:44.840 doing the
00:41:45.140 interview,
00:41:45.720 you kind
00:41:46.020 of get
00:41:46.220 different
00:41:46.600 reasons,
00:41:47.180 different
00:41:47.360 motivations
00:41:47.840 behind it.
00:41:50.180 And that's
00:41:50.740 not going to
00:41:50.960 be nearly
00:41:51.280 good enough
00:41:51.700 because if
00:41:52.020 you start
00:41:52.360 causing
00:41:52.820 gridlock and
00:41:53.640 shutting
00:41:53.920 down cities
00:41:54.400 and doing
00:41:54.660 all that
00:41:54.920 kind of
00:41:55.120 stuff,
00:41:56.000 people are
00:41:56.680 going to
00:41:56.800 want to
00:41:57.020 know why
00:41:57.360 you're
00:41:57.500 doing it.
00:41:59.820 And if
00:42:00.260 the answer
00:42:00.540 is sort
00:42:00.760 of a
00:42:00.940 shrug,
00:42:01.300 well,
00:42:01.640 you know,
00:42:01.820 just in
00:42:02.140 general,
00:42:02.560 freedom,
00:42:03.940 that's not
00:42:04.740 going to
00:42:04.840 be a good
00:42:05.060 enough answer.
00:42:06.200 All right.
00:42:08.280 Bro Total
00:42:09.040 says,
00:42:09.820 Matt not
00:42:10.420 doing dog
00:42:11.000 chores because
00:42:11.520 the dog
00:42:11.820 trainer told
00:42:12.140 him not
00:42:12.420 to is
00:42:12.840 simply him
00:42:13.380 doing what
00:42:13.760 we've all
00:42:14.060 been told
00:42:14.360 to do for
00:42:14.700 the last
00:42:14.960 two years.
00:42:15.820 He's just
00:42:16.220 listening to
00:42:16.680 the experts.
00:42:18.020 His wife
00:42:18.640 is a dog
00:42:19.500 science denier.
00:42:20.400 Thank you.
00:42:20.680 That's exactly
00:42:21.000 the point
00:42:21.240 that I've
00:42:21.440 been making.
00:42:22.020 Mike says,
00:42:22.400 Matt,
00:42:22.540 with all your
00:42:22.800 criticisms of
00:42:23.480 the military,
00:42:24.020 why don't you
00:42:24.400 join and
00:42:24.820 show us
00:42:25.120 how it's
00:42:25.420 done?
00:42:26.460 Well,
00:42:26.620 first of all,
00:42:26.980 my criticisms
00:42:27.460 are of the
00:42:28.440 leadership,
00:42:29.080 especially
00:42:29.320 civilian
00:42:29.760 leadership,
00:42:30.420 not of the
00:42:32.060 individuals who
00:42:32.760 are choosing
00:42:33.140 to serve.
00:42:34.560 I think that's
00:42:34.900 a pretty obvious
00:42:35.620 distinction there
00:42:36.340 and a nuance
00:42:39.100 that I believe
00:42:39.740 you're choosing
00:42:40.280 not to see.
00:42:42.580 Second,
00:42:43.100 no,
00:42:43.300 I don't want
00:42:43.600 to go fight
00:42:44.120 potentially a
00:42:44.680 world war.
00:42:45.480 I mean,
00:42:45.680 I'm against
00:42:46.060 that.
00:42:46.680 I don't want
00:42:47.380 any of our
00:42:47.780 people fighting
00:42:48.260 that.
00:42:49.780 I have no
00:42:50.500 interest in
00:42:50.940 potentially dying
00:42:51.780 to fight
00:42:52.260 Russia over
00:42:52.860 Ukraine.
00:42:53.260 or even
00:42:54.620 to protect
00:42:55.220 a Europe
00:42:55.760 that Europeans
00:42:56.660 lack the
00:42:57.180 will to
00:42:57.480 defend
00:42:57.740 themselves.
00:42:59.700 I don't
00:43:00.180 want that
00:43:00.460 for me.
00:43:00.880 Why would I
00:43:01.160 sign up to
00:43:02.080 potentially do
00:43:02.600 that?
00:43:02.760 I don't
00:43:03.140 want it
00:43:03.460 for anybody.
00:43:05.620 That's my
00:43:06.120 whole point.
00:43:08.660 My point
00:43:09.220 is I don't
00:43:09.800 want our
00:43:10.780 service members
00:43:12.020 being thrown
00:43:13.920 into the
00:43:14.280 middle of a
00:43:14.660 conflict like
00:43:15.320 this where
00:43:17.000 many of
00:43:17.360 them will
00:43:17.620 die.
00:43:19.980 And so I
00:43:20.540 don't understand
00:43:20.940 the response
00:43:21.420 from you and
00:43:21.840 so many others
00:43:22.360 saying,
00:43:22.560 well, you
00:43:23.380 have no
00:43:23.940 right to
00:43:24.220 say that
00:43:24.460 if you
00:43:24.600 haven't
00:43:24.840 served.
00:43:27.080 I think
00:43:27.720 that's a
00:43:28.160 more logical
00:43:28.680 response for
00:43:29.720 the people
00:43:30.060 who haven't
00:43:30.620 served or
00:43:31.080 are not
00:43:31.500 serving now
00:43:32.060 and yet
00:43:32.800 are just
00:43:33.340 casually
00:43:34.840 saying,
00:43:35.380 yeah, let's
00:43:35.760 go to war
00:43:36.480 with Russia.
00:43:40.020 When you're
00:43:40.620 kind of
00:43:41.180 casually trying
00:43:42.900 to inject
00:43:44.680 our troops
00:43:45.120 into the
00:43:45.440 middle of
00:43:45.760 something and
00:43:46.780 waving away
00:43:47.520 the fact that
00:43:48.320 many of them
00:43:48.920 are going to
00:43:49.380 die and
00:43:50.380 you are
00:43:51.160 not serving
00:43:51.640 yourself while
00:43:52.200 you're doing
00:43:52.480 that, I
00:43:52.980 think that's
00:43:53.460 a relevant
00:43:53.820 criticism.
00:43:57.940 And in
00:43:58.500 terms of the
00:43:59.060 criticisms over
00:43:59.780 the continued
00:44:01.360 wokeness of
00:44:02.080 the military,
00:44:04.260 again, no,
00:44:05.140 I wouldn't want
00:44:06.200 to join an
00:44:07.560 increasingly
00:44:07.980 woke-ified
00:44:08.560 military.
00:44:09.420 I'm not going
00:44:11.240 to want my
00:44:11.680 sons to join
00:44:12.540 the military
00:44:13.220 either if
00:44:13.880 things continue
00:44:14.520 this way.
00:44:14.980 And that's
00:44:17.520 something that
00:44:17.940 at a certain
00:44:18.260 point in my
00:44:18.560 life I
00:44:18.800 couldn't
00:44:18.940 imagine
00:44:19.340 myself
00:44:19.900 saying,
00:44:20.320 but now
00:44:20.640 that's how
00:44:20.960 I feel
00:44:21.200 about it.
00:44:22.160 If things
00:44:22.700 continue down
00:44:23.380 this road,
00:44:27.280 where radical
00:44:29.920 leftism continues
00:44:31.200 to infiltrate
00:44:32.040 into the
00:44:32.480 military,
00:44:34.420 because if my
00:44:35.220 sons go
00:44:35.680 serve, you
00:44:36.040 know, the
00:44:36.220 thing is when
00:44:36.520 you're in
00:44:36.720 the military,
00:44:37.220 you can't
00:44:37.520 just get up
00:44:37.880 and leave
00:44:38.140 one day.
00:44:38.920 You are
00:44:39.420 totally
00:44:39.720 subjected
00:44:40.120 to it.
00:44:42.180 But again,
00:44:42.700 that's not a
00:44:43.020 criticism of the
00:44:43.560 military itself
00:44:44.260 or the
00:44:44.780 people who
00:44:45.340 join.
00:44:46.140 It's a
00:44:46.420 criticism of
00:44:46.920 how it's
00:44:47.160 run.
00:44:48.440 That's the
00:44:48.900 distinction.
00:44:49.660 As we see
00:44:50.060 conflict unfolding
00:44:50.920 between Russia
00:44:51.700 and Ukraine,
00:44:52.140 it's become
00:44:52.520 increasingly clear
00:44:53.260 that dictators
00:44:54.340 are not to
00:44:54.880 be trusted.
00:44:55.440 And as our
00:44:55.780 country supported
00:44:56.300 Ukraine's move
00:44:57.000 to hand over
00:44:57.440 its nukes in
00:44:58.680 1994 in
00:44:59.340 exchange for
00:44:59.840 Russia's promise
00:45:00.420 to not invade,
00:45:01.500 it appears that
00:45:02.580 we are not to
00:45:03.280 be trusted either.
00:45:03.980 That's why it's
00:45:04.900 more important than
00:45:05.420 ever to understand
00:45:06.080 just how insidious
00:45:07.000 these foreign
00:45:07.520 threats are within
00:45:08.400 our own country.
00:45:09.400 And we have
00:45:09.760 just the way to
00:45:10.920 do that and
00:45:11.440 help you do
00:45:11.800 that.
00:45:12.220 It's our new
00:45:12.720 show, The Enemy
00:45:13.300 Within.
00:45:14.260 Series featuring
00:45:14.800 acclaimed
00:45:15.180 journalist and
00:45:15.960 expert in
00:45:16.320 national threats,
00:45:17.040 Lee Smith.
00:45:17.980 Smith uncovers
00:45:18.540 a political
00:45:19.020 coup orchestrated
00:45:20.280 by America's
00:45:20.940 ruling class to
00:45:21.640 generate their
00:45:22.120 own wealth and
00:45:22.740 power in
00:45:23.120 exchange for
00:45:23.980 the slow
00:45:24.460 rise of
00:45:24.940 China's
00:45:25.700 Communist Party
00:45:26.600 in America.
00:45:27.560 In the fourth
00:45:28.420 episode, Lee
00:45:29.000 describes how
00:45:29.500 the NBA has
00:45:30.840 come to depend
00:45:31.400 on China for
00:45:31.980 much of its
00:45:32.400 profits and as
00:45:33.040 a result, how
00:45:33.900 the NBA and
00:45:34.420 its players have
00:45:34.960 become a
00:45:35.380 mouthpiece for
00:45:36.520 CCP propaganda.
00:45:38.240 Check out the
00:45:38.640 trailer here.
00:45:39.480 What if
00:45:40.140 everything we
00:45:40.880 think we know
00:45:41.640 about our
00:45:42.140 leaders, our
00:45:43.600 society and
00:45:44.660 our relations
00:45:45.200 with the rest
00:45:45.880 of the world
00:45:46.460 is wrong?
00:45:51.420 America is
00:45:52.200 facing two
00:45:53.100 major challenges.
00:45:54.760 One is the
00:45:55.260 Chinese Communist
00:45:56.180 Party.
00:45:56.940 However, the
00:45:57.560 most significant
00:45:58.420 threat comes from
00:46:00.380 within.
00:46:01.380 You're trying to
00:46:02.080 obscure responsibility
00:46:03.340 for four million
00:46:04.660 people dying around
00:46:05.620 the world.
00:46:05.900 Senator Paul, you
00:46:07.120 do not know what
00:46:07.960 you are talking
00:46:08.680 about.
00:46:09.900 We've already
00:46:10.660 seen evidence of
00:46:11.760 how the elites
00:46:12.580 want to run the
00:46:13.620 United States.
00:46:14.520 They're modeling
00:46:15.220 themselves after
00:46:16.280 Chinese autocracy.
00:46:17.900 For over a
00:46:18.880 decade, the
00:46:19.760 People's Republic
00:46:20.520 of China has
00:46:22.480 stood publicly
00:46:23.340 accused of acts
00:46:24.820 of cruelty
00:46:25.640 and wickedness
00:46:27.900 that match the
00:46:29.280 cruelty and
00:46:30.140 wickedness of
00:46:32.340 many evil
00:46:33.060 torturers and
00:46:34.440 execution.
00:46:35.900 Diane Feinstein
00:46:37.120 had a Chinese
00:46:39.000 spy as her
00:46:40.080 driver for 20
00:46:41.460 years.
00:46:42.160 We're not
00:46:42.540 talking about
00:46:43.440 one person
00:46:44.660 infiltrating
00:46:45.620 senior levels
00:46:46.820 at the CIA or
00:46:48.080 the White House.
00:46:48.860 We're talking
00:46:49.480 about an entire
00:46:50.500 elite class
00:46:51.880 throughout the
00:46:52.820 political,
00:46:53.840 corporate,
00:46:54.680 academic,
00:46:55.460 cultural, and
00:46:56.180 media establishment.
00:46:57.660 My name is
00:46:58.200 Lee Smith.
00:46:59.100 I've been a
00:46:59.640 journalist for
00:47:00.420 more than 30
00:47:01.600 years.
00:47:02.340 This is the
00:47:03.020 most astonishing
00:47:04.260 esenage and
00:47:05.580 infiltration operation
00:47:07.000 in history.
00:47:08.480 What you're going
00:47:09.460 to see in this
00:47:10.660 series will shock
00:47:11.840 you.
00:47:13.400 This is the
00:47:15.280 Enemy Within.

00:47:28.060 The Enemy Within

00:47:36.060 You know,
00:47:36.440 also,
00:47:36.820 there's no better
00:47:37.340 place for a
00:47:38.120 grand meeting
00:47:38.700 of the minds
00:47:39.260 than sitting
00:47:40.000 down over a
00:47:40.480 cup of coffee
00:47:40.980 and letting
00:47:41.280 conversation flow.
00:47:42.740 Nobody knows
00:47:43.160 that better than
00:47:43.620 Ben Shapiro.
00:47:44.480 In his new
00:47:44.820 show,
00:47:45.140 The Search,
00:47:45.680 we'll be taking
00:47:46.200 you to his
00:47:46.680 favorite local
00:47:47.220 spots to let
00:47:48.160 you in on a
00:47:48.660 secret,
00:47:49.500 which is where
00:47:50.000 the conversation
00:47:50.620 goes when the
00:47:51.340 camera isn't
00:47:52.020 rolling.
00:47:53.020 You know,
00:47:53.300 the camera is
00:47:53.760 rolling,
00:47:54.120 but,
00:47:54.440 you know,
00:47:54.800 whatever.
00:47:55.480 The second
00:47:55.800 episode of
00:47:56.220 The Search
00:47:56.520 features his
00:47:57.340 very good
00:47:57.780 friend,
00:47:58.140 highly lauded
00:47:58.620 historian,
00:47:59.160 Niall Ferguson.
00:48:00.020 It's an
00:48:00.260 excellent
00:48:00.500 conversation,
00:48:01.460 and I highly
00:48:01.940 recommend you
00:48:02.340 check it out.
00:48:02.880 The episode
00:48:03.180 released last
00:48:03.920 night,
00:48:04.220 and it's
00:48:04.380 exclusive to
00:48:05.080 Daily Wire
00:48:05.380 members,
00:48:05.980 so if you're

00:48:12.200 And finally,
00:48:12.800 you know,
00:48:13.000 it's always
00:48:13.440 time for new
00:48:14.040 voices to enter
00:48:14.680 the transgender
00:48:15.260 conversation,
00:48:16.020 because as
00:48:16.460 always,
00:48:16.900 diversity is
00:48:17.880 extremely
00:48:18.300 important.
00:48:18.760 That's why
00:48:19.100 I authored
00:48:19.800 the best-selling
00:48:21.060 children's
00:48:21.620 LGBTQ plus
00:48:22.840 book,
00:48:23.440 Johnny the
00:48:23.800 Walrus,
00:48:24.300 and also I
00:48:25.800 Phil to
00:48:26.180 discuss these
00:48:26.840 issues as
00:48:27.500 an expert
00:48:27.920 in the field
00:48:28.620 with other
00:48:29.460 people who
00:48:29.820 were supposedly
00:48:30.320 experts,
00:48:30.780 but they
00:48:30.960 couldn't tell
00:48:31.220 me what a
00:48:31.500 woman was,
00:48:31.940 so it turns
00:48:32.240 out that
00:48:32.480 they were
00:48:32.660 not experts.
00:48:33.760 And if you
00:48:34.100 haven't seen
00:48:34.420 any of those
00:48:34.680 clips,
00:48:34.940 go check it
00:48:35.460 out.
00:48:35.660 But even
00:48:35.940 more importantly,
00:48:36.980 if you haven't
00:48:37.240 picked up a
00:48:37.620 copy of my
00:48:38.140 best-selling
00:48:38.540 children's book,
00:48:39.380 you should do
00:48:39.840 so immediately.
00:48:40.540 It's sold out
00:48:40.880 in 48 hours
00:48:41.680 when it was
00:48:42.020 released.
00:48:43.340 Literary
00:48:43.700 sensation of
00:48:44.520 the year,
00:48:45.260 but don't
00:48:45.520 worry,
00:48:45.820 more copies
00:48:46.380 are on the
00:48:46.780 way.
00:48:47.080 Reserve
00:48:47.360 Johnny the
00:48:47.880 Walrus
00:48:48.180 now on
00:48:48.840 Amazon or
00:48:55.800 Ever since
00:48:57.180 the current
00:48:57.640 crisis began
00:48:58.300 in Ukraine,
00:48:58.820 the world
00:48:59.120 has shuddered
00:49:00.000 in dread
00:49:00.440 and anticipation,
00:49:01.360 terrified that
00:49:01.980 at any moment
00:49:02.780 the celebs
00:49:03.860 might get
00:49:04.500 involved.
00:49:05.240 And we all
00:49:05.540 knew that it
00:49:05.800 was bound
00:49:06.060 to happen.
00:49:07.360 And it only
00:49:07.700 took a few
00:49:08.080 weeks of the
00:49:08.720 pandemic before
00:49:09.600 Charlize Theron
00:49:10.580 and her
00:49:11.280 celebrity friends
00:49:12.000 recorded a
00:49:12.500 video of
00:49:12.960 themselves singing
00:49:13.940 Imagine,
00:49:15.000 a rendition so
00:49:15.760 horrible,
00:49:16.260 you'll remember,
00:49:16.720 so off-key and
00:49:17.460 tone-deaf in
00:49:18.060 every sense of
00:49:18.560 the term,
00:49:19.320 that it somehow
00:49:19.760 managed to be
00:49:20.520 even worse than
00:49:21.300 the original
00:49:21.680 version.
00:49:22.780 So what
00:49:23.540 would the
00:49:23.880 celebs do
00:49:24.580 about Ukraine?
00:49:26.520 That was the
00:49:26.820 question.
00:49:27.700 What song
00:49:28.260 would they
00:49:28.600 sing?
00:49:28.880 What PSA
00:49:29.600 would they
00:49:29.860 record?
00:49:31.460 These are the
00:49:32.020 questions that
00:49:32.500 plagued us,
00:49:33.100 and now they've
00:49:33.680 been answered.
00:49:34.580 And I'm afraid
00:49:35.100 that it's far
00:49:36.340 worse than you
00:49:37.060 could have ever
00:49:37.420 imagined.
00:49:38.380 Anna Lynn
00:49:38.840 McCord is an
00:49:39.640 actress that I've
00:49:40.360 never heard of,
00:49:40.860 but she's
00:49:41.140 apparently appeared
00:49:42.240 in many films.
00:49:43.700 Her Wikipedia
00:49:44.140 informs me that
00:49:44.760 she was also a
00:49:46.160 Teen Choice Award
00:49:47.000 nominee in 2009,
00:49:48.340 so her resume is
00:49:49.260 undoubtedly
00:49:49.640 impressive,
00:49:50.440 but it can do
00:49:51.160 nothing to rescue
00:49:52.020 what I'm about to
00:49:52.700 play for you.
00:49:53.180 Miss McCord,
00:49:53.720 has apparently
00:49:54.960 been watching
00:49:55.580 the events
00:49:56.100 unfold across
00:49:56.800 the ocean and
00:49:57.460 has arrived to
00:49:58.060 the conclusion
00:49:58.540 that whatever
00:49:59.540 the particulars of
00:50:00.340 this geopolitical
00:50:01.020 conflict,
00:50:01.920 really it's all
00:50:02.620 about her.
00:50:03.920 She may not be
00:50:04.540 a foreign policy
00:50:05.280 expert,
00:50:05.780 mind you,
00:50:06.740 but she does
00:50:07.680 know,
00:50:08.020 based on her
00:50:08.420 experience,
00:50:09.460 that she is
00:50:10.300 somehow at the
00:50:10.860 center of it.
00:50:12.720 Just as she
00:50:13.540 may not be an
00:50:14.320 astronomer by trade,
00:50:15.640 but she still
00:50:16.240 knows that the
00:50:16.840 earth and the
00:50:17.300 sun and all of
00:50:17.960 the stars revolve
00:50:18.720 around her.
00:50:19.200 Anna Lynn
00:50:19.700 McCord subscribes to
00:50:20.700 the McCordio-centric
00:50:22.080 theory of the
00:50:22.680 universe, you might
00:50:23.220 say, and that's
00:50:24.060 what led her to
00:50:24.540 record and
00:50:25.000 publish this
00:50:25.600 video.
00:50:26.380 Your challenge
00:50:27.040 here will be to
00:50:27.880 listen to it for
00:50:28.680 more than five
00:50:29.300 seconds without
00:50:30.560 dying of cringe.
00:50:31.500 In fact, in
00:50:32.960 penance for all of
00:50:33.880 our sins, I'm
00:50:34.360 going to try to
00:50:35.180 let this play for
00:50:36.620 80 seconds.
00:50:38.500 And don't look
00:50:39.320 away, don't cover
00:50:40.940 your ears, don't
00:50:42.480 turn this off.
00:50:44.040 We're going to
00:50:44.800 endure this together
00:50:45.780 and be better for it
00:50:48.140 in our suffering.
00:50:50.020 Watch.
00:50:50.340 Dear President
00:50:52.260 Vladimir Putin, I'm
00:50:54.800 so sorry that I
00:50:55.920 was not your
00:50:56.360 mother.
00:50:57.880 If I was your
00:50:58.820 mother, you would
00:50:59.360 have been so
00:50:59.960 loved, held in
00:51:01.560 the arms of
00:51:02.180 joyous light.
00:51:03.580 Never would
00:51:04.060 this story's
00:51:04.900 plight the world
00:51:05.800 unfurled before
00:51:07.240 our eyes, a pure
00:51:08.320 demise of nations
00:51:09.920 sitting peaceful
00:51:10.740 under a night sky.
00:51:11.860 If I was your
00:51:12.980 mother, the world
00:51:14.460 would have been
00:51:14.860 warm, so much
00:51:16.440 laughter and joy,
00:51:17.620 and nothing would
00:51:18.440 harm.
00:51:18.880 I can't imagine
00:51:20.240 the stain, the
00:51:21.200 soul-stealing pain
00:51:22.520 that the little
00:51:23.320 boy you must have
00:51:24.400 seen and believed
00:51:25.580 and the formulation
00:51:26.660 of thought quickly
00:51:27.820 taught that you
00:51:29.140 lived in a cruel,
00:51:30.340 unjust world.
00:51:32.460 Is this why you
00:51:34.400 now decide no one
00:51:36.160 will get the best
00:51:36.840 of you?
00:51:36.940 I can't do it
00:51:37.420 anymore.
00:51:38.120 I don't know.
00:51:38.460 We didn't get 80
00:51:38.980 seconds in.
00:51:39.540 I just, I can't.
00:51:43.000 So breaking news
00:51:44.000 for you.
00:51:44.540 Putin has heard
00:51:45.520 this poem and is
00:51:46.180 now launching a
00:51:46.840 full-scale nuclear
00:51:47.600 attack against the
00:51:48.360 United States
00:51:48.820 because of it.
00:51:50.220 And you can
00:51:50.820 hardly blame him.
00:51:51.420 I actually welcome
00:51:52.040 it.
00:51:53.440 Now, there are
00:51:54.620 times in life when
00:51:56.000 you encounter
00:51:56.420 something so crazy,
00:51:57.400 so deranged, that
00:51:58.340 your mind kind of
00:51:59.140 shuts down and
00:51:59.760 prevents you from
00:52:00.420 confronting and
00:52:01.120 comprehending the
00:52:02.540 insanity in its
00:52:03.500 fullness.
00:52:04.040 And a sentence
00:52:04.540 like, I'm so
00:52:06.100 sorry I was not
00:52:07.100 your mother, has
00:52:08.720 just that effect.
00:52:09.980 It's the kind of
00:52:10.480 thought that only a
00:52:11.140 lunatic could have
00:52:12.040 in a situation like
00:52:12.840 this, much less say
00:52:13.800 out loud on video.
00:52:15.780 It's therefore not
00:52:16.400 really possible for a
00:52:17.340 rational person to
00:52:18.940 understand the
00:52:19.740 thought process that
00:52:20.420 went into this.
00:52:20.940 I mean, did she
00:52:21.380 actually imagine a
00:52:22.460 possible scenario where
00:52:23.980 Putin would be
00:52:24.720 scrolling Twitter,
00:52:26.180 stumble across her
00:52:27.000 poem, listen to it
00:52:29.160 and be like swayed
00:52:30.360 by it?
00:52:31.360 Did she imagine
00:52:32.240 Putin tears welling
00:52:33.880 up in his eyes,
00:52:34.680 calling his generals
00:52:35.460 and saying, never
00:52:36.300 mind, the war's off.
00:52:37.940 I choose laughter and
00:52:39.340 joy instead.
00:52:40.680 Come, let us all
00:52:41.340 clasp hands and sing
00:52:43.220 songs of love and
00:52:44.180 hope.
00:52:44.440 Is that what she
00:52:45.940 thought would
00:52:46.220 happen?
00:52:47.620 Perhaps.
00:52:48.640 Though it's more
00:52:49.200 likely that she
00:52:49.660 simply intended to
00:52:50.420 get a bunch of
00:52:50.900 likes and retweets
00:52:51.760 and pats on the
00:52:52.280 back from an
00:52:54.020 adoring public,
00:52:54.700 which was also a
00:52:55.440 delusional hope.
00:52:56.860 She probably hadn't
00:52:57.620 thought it through
00:52:58.120 much more than that.
00:52:59.480 Also, I can't help
00:53:00.220 but note the fact
00:53:00.880 that Anna, from
00:53:02.680 what I can tell based
00:53:03.380 on her available
00:53:03.920 biography, is not a
00:53:05.680 mother.
00:53:06.400 So she is a
00:53:07.220 childless 35-year-old
00:53:08.460 woman, and yet she's
00:53:09.940 quite sure that her
00:53:10.800 parenting skills, if
00:53:11.760 only she had
00:53:12.260 children, would be so
00:53:13.640 flawless that she
00:53:14.620 could, as she says
00:53:15.520 in her poem, create
00:53:16.800 a utopia of, quote,
00:53:18.220 nations sitting
00:53:19.020 peaceful under a
00:53:19.920 night sky.
00:53:20.600 That's how good of a
00:53:21.380 mother she would be.
00:53:23.360 I remember when I
00:53:24.260 had similar delusions
00:53:25.100 about my own
00:53:25.640 parenting skills.
00:53:27.520 Maybe not quite that
00:53:28.600 megalomaniacal, but,
00:53:30.160 you know, close
00:53:30.580 enough.
00:53:31.640 And then I realized
00:53:32.360 that it's hard enough
00:53:33.140 to get my own kids to
00:53:34.300 go to bed and sleep
00:53:35.120 peacefully under a
00:53:35.820 night sky, much less
00:53:36.900 entire nations.
00:53:39.640 I still have not
00:53:40.440 mastered that, eight
00:53:41.120 years in.
00:53:42.100 How do you get kids to
00:53:43.040 just go to bed and
00:53:45.040 sleep peacefully?
00:53:46.080 I haven't done it one
00:53:47.540 time.
00:53:47.820 I have not succeeded
00:53:48.480 yet.
00:53:50.620 Entire nations, the
00:53:51.540 whole world, forget
00:53:52.320 about it.
00:53:53.860 Now, the best and most
00:53:54.920 generous possible
00:53:55.740 interpretation of this
00:53:56.600 poem is that Anna
00:53:57.520 McCord is sort of
00:53:59.120 sweetly clueless in a
00:54:00.780 naive, feminine,
00:54:01.940 maternalistic sort of
00:54:02.820 way.
00:54:03.460 And she thinks that
00:54:04.180 snuggles and hugs can
00:54:05.360 solve any problem,
00:54:06.580 doesn't realize that a
00:54:07.800 tendency towards
00:54:08.560 conflict and land
00:54:09.520 disputes and tribalism
00:54:10.620 and warfare are
00:54:11.720 deeply ingrained in
00:54:12.600 the human psyche.
00:54:14.020 All of the snuggles in
00:54:15.100 the world won't change
00:54:15.880 that.
00:54:17.460 But if this was just
00:54:18.380 rooted in a sort of
00:54:19.440 optimistic yet ignorant
00:54:20.720 and simple-minded
00:54:21.460 misunderstanding of
00:54:22.400 human nature, it would
00:54:23.420 perhaps not be worthy of
00:54:24.900 the same level of
00:54:25.900 mockery that it's
00:54:26.620 receiving.
00:54:27.780 Because it's well
00:54:28.520 intentioned, you know,
00:54:29.740 just really stupid.
00:54:31.400 Unfortunately, I think
00:54:32.200 the truth is not quite so
00:54:33.340 rosy for Anna
00:54:34.000 McCord.
00:54:34.620 It is, as usual,
00:54:36.400 less a matter of naive
00:54:37.880 innocence than of
00:54:38.640 extreme, suffocating
00:54:40.000 narcissism.
00:54:41.180 A narcissism so
00:54:42.200 immense in its
00:54:43.300 severity and scope
00:54:44.200 that she not only
00:54:45.300 believed she could
00:54:45.880 single-handedly cure the
00:54:47.100 world of violence and
00:54:47.980 war, but that it's a
00:54:49.040 good idea for her to
00:54:49.840 make this claim while
00:54:51.640 the world is in the
00:54:52.240 midst of violence and
00:54:53.180 war.
00:54:55.340 And it's for that
00:54:56.180 reason, it's for the
00:54:56.900 narcissism that
00:54:57.560 ultimately we must say
00:54:58.500 the same thing I would
00:55:01.540 say to Anna McCord
00:55:03.220 if I was her mother.
00:55:04.600 You're canceled.
00:55:06.220 And we'll leave it
00:55:06.840 there for today.
00:55:07.780 Thanks for

00:56:04.860 and the moon's turned to

00:56:06.520 But on The Andrew Klavan
