00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, the Biden administration celebrates Pride Month with executive orders meant to ensure that more children are drugged and castrated.
00:00:07.660 Also, protesters interrupt a drag queen story hour and are now being investigated for a hate crime because of it, but a hate crime against who?
00:00:15.260 And Texas lawmakers send a letter to the White House asking for an official legal definition of the word woman.
00:00:20.160 Good question. Based on my experience, they're not going to get one, though.
00:00:22.760 Ibram Kendi has a new book out meant to indoctrinate more children into the CRT cult.
00:00:26.880 In our daily cancellation, George Washington University changes its Colonials moniker for reasons that make no sense whatsoever.
00:00:33.760 We'll talk about all that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.
00:00:45.020 Well, that summer vacation you have planned is expensive on its own, but now let's add in the higher cost of gas, credit card fees, which are already close to 19 percent and are expected to rise again soon.
00:00:55.700 It's becoming impossible to save any money to enjoy some time away after all your hard work this year.
00:01:01.120 Don't let all those expenses ruin all your plans, though.
00:01:03.480 Instead, save some money and get a free mortgage review from our friends at American Financing.
00:01:07.760 Let a salary-based mortgage consultant talk to you about custom loans that can fit your budget better.
00:01:14.220 And that's the truth.
00:01:15.200 I mean, from your home loan to your equity and even your high interest debt, they'll review all of it.
00:01:19.420 And it's very easy for you on your end anyway.
00:01:21.320 And they'll do everything they can to help you save up to $1,000 a month.
00:01:24.720 These are huge savings, and you can help avoid all the costs and everything and the heartache that comes with going on that dream summer vacation.
00:01:32.400 If you're ready to save up to $1,000 a month, pick up the phone and give them a call.
00:01:36.260 If you start soon, you could skip two payments and may close in as fast as 10 days.
00:01:40.660 All you got to do is call 866-569-4711.
00:01:42.320 That's 866-569-4711.
00:01:45.720 Or visit AmericanFinancing.net, NMLS, 182-334, NMLS, ConsumerAccess.org.
00:01:51.260 One of the ironclad rules of modern life, and something that I wish conservatives would finally come to understand once and for all and never forget,
00:01:59.580 is that the left always doubles down, always escalates.
00:02:03.220 We call it progressivism because it always progresses.
00:02:05.700 Progresses in the way that, you know, cancer progresses.
00:02:08.100 This means that if we are moderate in our opposition, if we settle for half measures, or worse, if we backtrack, if we triangulate,
00:02:16.860 we're going to become overwhelmed and eventually drowned out of the conversation entirely.
00:02:21.220 The other thing to keep in mind is that the left owns all of our cultural institutions,
00:02:25.180 which means that they own the culture, which means that as they push ever to the left,
00:02:28.820 they drag the entire culture along with them.
00:02:31.520 So this explains the sad, pathetic story of moderate conservatism, so-called.
00:02:36.000 You know, the moderate conservative is looking to, you know, stake out the halfway position between the right and the left.
00:02:43.540 But the halfway point is itself caught up in this riptide and drifting quickly to the left.
00:02:49.920 That's how we end up with conservatives who today support at least some of the underlying presuppositions of critical race theory and gender theory.
00:02:58.060 They've adopted a belief system that would have been too radically progressive, even for leftists 10 years ago.
00:03:05.120 Which is why it's inevitable that 10 years from now, these same moderate conservatives will be proclaiming their support for sex change surgeries for kindergartners,
00:03:13.960 but insisting that only adults should be able to medically transition to a new species.
00:03:18.060 That's where they draw the line.
00:03:20.460 Ah, this new, this species stuff, that's only for 18 year old and over, with some exceptions.
00:03:26.420 This will be the moderate and reasonable viewpoint in 2032, if not much sooner than that.
00:03:33.520 So case in point, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health,
00:03:37.080 this is one of the most prominent and influential health organizations in the world.
00:03:41.100 They come up with standards of care that are automatically endorsed by, you know, the American Academy of Pediatrics,
00:03:48.420 the American Psychological Association, and so on.
00:03:51.220 They also, as we discussed a couple of weeks ago, you may remember WPATH from a couple of weeks ago,
00:03:56.000 they came out in support of UNIC as a valid gender identity.
00:04:00.600 So that's where they're coming from.
00:04:02.040 And after receiving lots of criticism for that, and for all of the other lunacy that they push and they advocate,
00:04:07.680 WPATH has responded by doing what these people always do.
00:04:11.900 Their message to the public basically is,
00:04:14.140 oh, you don't like it when we push gender transitions on children?
00:04:16.800 Well, guess what?
00:04:17.500 Now we're going to push transitions on even younger children.
00:04:20.280 How do you like that?
00:04:22.000 As Yahoo reports, quote,
00:04:23.560 The World Professional Association for Transgender Health said hormones could be started at age 14,
00:04:29.100 two years earlier than the group's previous advice,
00:04:31.640 and some surgeries done at age 15 or 17, a year or so earlier than previous guidance.
00:04:38.240 The group acknowledged potential risks, but said that it's unethical and harmful to withhold early treatment.
00:04:44.960 Of course, doctors already have been chemically castrating 14-year-old children,
00:04:49.600 chopping the breasts off of 15-year-old girls, and all the rest of it.
00:04:52.420 But now the practice has the official endorsement of a group whose declarations are taken as unquestioned gospel truth
00:04:58.980 by every other medical organization in the entire Western world.
00:05:04.140 How do they justify this?
00:05:05.480 Well, you know, I mean, what do they say to the objections raised by transphobes
00:05:10.140 who are so hateful as to insist that maybe children shouldn't have their healthy body parts removed?
00:05:15.620 They do have a rebuttal of sorts, and I want you to listen to this.
00:05:19.340 Listen to the language that's being used here, okay?
00:05:22.420 It's not very subtle.
00:05:24.360 Quote, starting treatment earlier allows transgender teens to experience physical puberty changes
00:05:29.220 around the same time as other teens, said Dr. Eli Coleman,
00:05:33.060 chair of the group's Standards of Care and director of the University of Minnesota Medical School's
00:05:37.220 Human Sexuality Program.
00:05:38.980 But he stressed that age is just one factor to be weighed.
00:05:43.340 Emotional maturity, parents' consent, long-standing gender discomfort,
00:05:48.060 and a careful psychological evaluation are among the others.
00:05:51.660 Quote,
00:05:51.900 Quote, certainly there are adolescents that do not have the emotional or cognitive maturity
00:05:56.360 to make an informed decision, he said.
00:05:59.360 That's why we recommend a careful multidisciplinary assessment.
00:06:05.160 Ah, you see, only some adolescents lack the cognitive maturity to consent.
00:06:10.800 But there's nothing about adolescents itself which should disqualify children
00:06:14.820 for making these kinds of decisions, he says.
00:06:17.160 It's not a coincidence or a mere byproduct that they are now chipping away at the legal framework
00:06:24.300 that protects children from sexual abuse.
00:06:27.960 That framework is built entirely around the idea that children, no child, can actually offer informed consent.
00:06:36.340 That's why we say it's impossible for a child and an adult to have a sexual relationship.
00:06:49.140 Because that's not a relationship, that's rape every time.
00:06:52.780 Why? Because the child cannot consent.
00:06:57.000 He doesn't have the cognitive maturity.
00:06:59.120 Yet W-Path now declares that only some children lack cognitive maturity.
00:07:04.580 Other children are so mature that they can consent to having body parts removed.
00:07:08.240 They can consent to sterilization.
00:07:11.000 They can consent to castration.
00:07:12.460 The whole concept of consent is being intentionally confused and corrupted.
00:07:19.020 They know what they're doing.
00:07:21.060 And so do we.
00:07:22.040 And we know why they're doing it.
00:07:24.580 But W-Path wasn't the only group to double down on LGBT extremism this week.
00:07:28.940 Yesterday, the White House celebrated Pride Month with two executive orders.
00:07:33.220 One is meant to, quote, protect LGBT people from, quote, discriminatory laws that have been passed in a number of states.
00:07:39.460 Namely, the laws which ban doctors from castrating kids, ban males from female sports, and ban teachers from sexually indoctrinating preschoolers.
00:07:48.840 Biden now seeks to protect these children by making sure that they are indoctrinated and castrated.
00:07:55.000 For the other executive order, here's the White House statement explaining it.
00:07:58.080 It says, as a candidate, President Biden pledged to help end so-called conversion therapy,
00:08:03.740 a discredited and dangerous practice that seeks to suppress or change the sexual orientation or gender identity of LGBTQI plus people.
00:08:12.620 Today, President Biden is using his executive authority to launch an initiative to protect children across America
00:08:17.760 and crack down on this harmful practice, which every major medical association in the United States has condemned.
00:08:23.760 Now, keep in mind, of course, that conversion therapy also includes telling a boy that he's a boy.
00:08:32.400 That's conversion therapy, right?
00:08:35.700 According to the left, if a parent does not affirm a gender-confused boy as a girl, they are guilty of conversion therapy.
00:08:43.500 So, affirmation is to tell a boy that he's a girl, and conversion therapy is to tell a boy that he's a boy.
00:08:53.760 This is the twisted world that we're now living in.
00:08:57.900 Simply using the word he is conversion therapy.
00:09:01.640 They're already arresting people for this crime in Canada, as you heard in our film, What is a Woman?
00:09:07.380 The Biden regime wants to see that same thing happen here.
00:09:11.680 That's how Biden can prove his LGBT bona fides.
00:09:15.540 Something that he's desperate to do, as was made clear during his Pride speech yesterday,
00:09:19.820 where he spent several minutes just off the top bragging about all the gay and trans people in his administration.
00:09:27.180 Listen.
00:09:28.520 Look, last year we hosted this event, and the message is simple.
00:09:33.200 Pride is back at the White House.
00:09:35.100 From day one, from day one, this has been the most pro-equality administration in history,
00:09:46.540 led by guys like Pete Buttigieg.
00:09:53.660 And so many others.
00:09:55.700 I think we have more LGBTQ-plus people than any administration or every administration combined.
00:10:03.320 No, I really mean it.
00:10:05.580 I really mean it.
00:10:09.260 Because I promised when I got elected, I wanted my administration to look like America.
00:10:14.640 Look like America across the board.
00:10:16.860 And we've done that.
00:10:19.100 A record number of out and proud appointees at every single level of our government.
00:10:24.920 And as I said, you know, Secretary Buttigieg, who needs no introduction,
00:10:28.920 is doing an outstanding job of rebuilding America.
00:10:31.620 And I mean that in a literal sense.
00:10:33.440 And not just in terms of what he's doing in transportation,
00:10:36.720 but he's helping rebuild pride in America.
00:10:38.800 And, you know...
00:10:40.800 And my public spokesman, Corrine Jean-Pierre, who's making history at the time.
00:10:59.720 We're also joined by the Assistant Secretary of Health and Education and Human Services,
00:11:04.560 Admiral Rachel Levin.
00:11:05.680 And Undersecretary of Defense, Sean Skeely.
00:11:12.260 Where's Undersecretary of Defense?
00:11:15.540 There you go.
00:11:16.300 Thank you very much for being here.
00:11:21.140 Yeah, so we want the administration to look like America.
00:11:25.240 And so it has more LGBT people than every other administration combined.
00:11:29.640 Is that how you make it look like America?
00:11:31.040 You want it to look like America so you have Rachel Levine?
00:11:33.400 Is that what America looks like to you?
00:11:36.160 Rachel Levine?
00:11:38.920 Yeah, I guess in their mind, that's what America is.
00:11:41.280 America is Rachel Levine.
00:11:44.220 So you heard that, right?
00:11:45.360 Biden, after throwing shade on Obama by calling his own administration
00:11:48.620 the most pro-equality in history.
00:11:50.480 So not the administration with the first black president.
00:11:54.460 No, that's not the most pro-equality.
00:11:55.960 He's even more pro-equality than Obama was.
00:11:59.040 He also credits Pete Buttigieg with leading his administration
00:12:03.100 and with rebuilding America and also rebuilding pride in America.
00:12:08.560 He's done all this as transportation secretary.
00:12:11.060 And in spite of the fact that he took three months off for maternity leave,
00:12:14.340 but he's still been able to do all that.
00:12:15.700 So that's pretty impressive.
00:12:17.260 I think Biden is right, though.
00:12:18.260 I have to admit.
00:12:18.860 I mean, who among us has not been overcome with pride
00:12:21.280 because a gay guy named Pete is our transportation secretary?
00:12:24.880 I hear people saying it all the time.
00:12:26.020 Go up to any American on the street and ask them
00:12:27.840 why they're proud of America.
00:12:29.360 And the first thing they'll say is Pete Buttigieg, of course.
00:12:34.380 Now, this obviously is just a bunch of absurd pandering
00:12:36.880 by somebody who doesn't really believe any of this stuff
00:12:39.480 to the extent that he's able to believe anything at all anymore.
00:12:42.700 But does anyone in the administration actually believe any of this?
00:12:46.340 I mean, do they believe that it's abusive and oppressive
00:12:48.220 to not drug and mutilate kids?
00:12:51.180 Do they believe that it's conversion therapy to call a boy he?
00:12:54.560 Do they believe that we should be chopping the breasts off
00:12:58.020 of 15-year-old girls?
00:12:59.040 Do any of the politicians in Washington actually agree with
00:13:01.760 and believe in the extremist LGBT agenda to this extent?
00:13:06.160 Maybe a few of them do.
00:13:08.520 But most have been in the public eye for decades,
00:13:11.600 most prominent ones anyway,
00:13:13.160 and yet never once, up until very recently,
00:13:15.760 mentioned their affinity for chemically castrating 14-year-olds.
00:13:20.200 They push this now for ideological and political reasons, of course.
00:13:24.560 And that makes it all the more sinister and all the worse.
00:13:28.260 They're not really true believers.
00:13:29.420 They don't believe it.
00:13:30.020 They know what they're saying.
00:13:33.260 They're only going to continue to double down.
00:13:36.340 They're not going to just stop.
00:13:38.720 Unless we stop them, that is.
00:13:41.160 Now let's get to our five headlines.
00:13:48.340 You know, life happens fast, and it can end even faster.
00:13:53.080 You picture yourself living to a ripe old age,
00:13:55.720 but then you walk outside and get hit by a bus.
00:13:58.380 It happens all the time.
00:13:59.580 Could happen to you.
00:14:00.800 If it doesn't, you're going to want to have a plan in place.
00:14:03.600 Otherwise, the state, the people you hate,
00:14:05.840 the people who are trying to indoctrinate your kids,
00:14:08.200 take your guns, steal your freedom,
00:14:10.160 they're going to step in and take control of your assets
00:14:12.340 when you're gone.
00:14:13.700 They're going to determine what legacy you leave behind.
00:14:15.820 You already got hit by a bus.
00:14:17.080 This is just insult to injury.
00:14:18.860 Don't let the state decide what happens to your children
00:14:21.120 should something happen to you.
00:14:22.820 Instead, take five minutes and set up a will
00:14:24.800 through Epic Will, starting at just $119.
00:14:27.080 You choose who raises your kids.
00:14:28.760 You choose who gets your useless crap after you're gone.

00:14:40.920 Many of our families at Daily Wire
00:14:41.980 are now protected thanks to Epic Will.
00:14:43.940 Why don't you do the same?
00:14:44.940 Go to epicwill.com and enter promo code Walsh
00:14:47.120 and do something for your family today.
00:14:50.360 So this was interesting.
00:14:51.260 There are some protesters who crashed
00:14:52.840 a Drag Queen Story Hour event in California
00:14:55.140 over the weekend.
00:14:56.080 Now, we've seen some of the footage of protests
00:14:58.320 outside of Drag Queen Story Hour events,
00:15:00.880 other drag queen events where kids are brought there.
00:15:03.900 We know what happened in Texas
00:15:05.620 with the drag event at a gay bar
00:15:08.340 and kids were brought in by their abusive parents.
00:15:10.520 There were protesters outside,
00:15:11.660 people confronting the drag queens outside,
00:15:13.860 which is good.
00:15:14.280 But in this case, the protesters went all the way
00:15:17.500 into the building and actually into the event itself
00:15:20.520 to confront the drag queen and the parents.
00:15:23.600 And let's hear how that confrontation went.
00:15:26.960 Who brought the tranny?
00:15:30.720 Who brought the pedophile?
00:15:32.620 First of all, you don't have to wear a mask.
00:15:35.200 No, thank you.
00:15:35.680 Who brought the pedophile?
00:15:36.880 It's not often.
00:15:37.520 We want to know.
00:15:38.300 You're required to wear a mask.
00:15:39.360 We want to know.
00:15:40.440 Well, we'll make the exam.
00:15:41.400 Thank you, though.
00:15:44.280 Who brought the pedophile?
00:15:45.980 I just want to know.
00:15:46.780 The story that is actually for children.
00:15:48.660 It's for, well, then why is the pedophile here?
00:15:51.020 So if you guys could please...
00:15:52.040 Why did you...
00:15:52.580 No, no, no, no.
00:15:53.140 We want to know why there's a pedophile here.
00:15:54.820 We saw videos of what that thing does.
00:15:56.480 I'm sorry, you're not in the library call.
00:15:57.560 Why did you...
00:15:58.140 I have to ask...
00:15:58.720 It's got videos...
00:15:59.500 You see what all pedophiles is in here.
00:16:00.500 ...about what it wants to do to little children.
00:16:01.820 Yeah.
00:16:02.080 You are...
00:16:02.680 Why did you...
00:16:03.100 You have videos on YouTube
00:16:04.200 of what it wants to do to little children.
00:16:05.380 Why did you bring the pedophile?
00:16:06.320 I don't understand.
00:16:07.680 I don't understand.
00:16:08.760 I don't understand.
00:16:08.820 The children.
00:16:09.460 Yeah.
00:16:09.700 Why would you bring the children to a pedophile?
00:16:11.280 That's why we're not sharing.
00:16:12.560 It's not vulgar land.
00:16:13.520 Hey, you should be ashamed of yourself.
00:16:15.360 How bad?
00:16:16.620 You should be ashamed of yourself.
00:16:18.640 Why would you want to bring children to this?
00:16:21.080 Why would you want to expose your children to this?
00:16:22.720 Just to prove how tall you are a pedophile?
00:16:24.660 This is the only thing I have a problem exposing children to this.
00:16:28.460 You want to expose your children to pedophiles to prove how tall you are.
00:16:31.440 This is disgusting.
00:16:32.840 That's it.
00:16:35.120 Really good question to ask there.
00:16:36.420 Why would you want to expose your kids to this?
00:16:40.520 Good question.
00:16:41.600 Love to hear an answer to that.
00:16:42.500 They don't have an answer.
00:16:43.580 At least not an answer they're going to say out loud.
00:16:44.940 Why would you want to expose your kids to this?
00:16:47.260 I mean, do you want your kid to go to the library, hear a story?
00:16:51.100 You want your kid to...
00:16:51.640 That's totally understandable.
00:16:54.780 I read stories to my kids all the time.
00:16:57.980 We brought our kids to story times at libraries.
00:17:00.060 They used to be a pretty uncontroversial thing.
00:17:02.980 Why do you need a cross-dressing man to read the story is the question.
00:17:07.840 Why do you need a man who is acting out his sexual fetish?
00:17:13.120 Why do you need to incorporate that into the story time?
00:17:17.340 Why?
00:17:20.080 Good question to answer.
00:17:21.000 Now, the drag queen there who showed up cross-dressing for kids to read the story,
00:17:26.640 you know, he of course has been in front of the media talking about how terrified he is now
00:17:30.180 and what a terrible thing this was.
00:17:33.600 How uncomfortable he is now.
00:17:36.460 But here's the thing.
00:17:38.300 In a civilized society and in a sane society,
00:17:41.560 you should be made uncomfortable
00:17:44.440 when you're going to do this in front of kids.
00:17:48.320 Okay, people involved in combining drag queens and kids,
00:17:53.240 if they feel uncomfortable about that,
00:17:55.700 they feel like what they're doing is a little bit contentious,
00:17:59.920 that's how they should feel.
00:18:01.980 Like, you shouldn't feel like it's a normal, comfortable thing
00:18:05.500 to just combine kids and drag queens
00:18:09.560 because it's not normal and it's not okay.
00:18:11.960 And this is at a library, by the way.
00:18:17.020 Let's keep that in mind.
00:18:18.280 This is at a library.
00:18:19.180 This is a tax-funded institution.
00:18:24.340 So other taxpayers have every right
00:18:26.600 to voice their disapproval
00:18:29.020 of what their tax money is being used to do.
00:18:33.180 And even if it isn't a tax-funded institution,
00:18:35.380 this is child abuse.
00:18:36.380 Man, people have every right to express
00:18:40.880 their disapproval of child abuse.
00:18:43.860 Now, that's what I would say anyway,
00:18:46.600 but law enforcement,
00:18:47.640 they're saying something different.
00:18:48.600 In fact, they are now investigating this
00:18:50.920 as a hate crime.
00:18:53.580 What you just saw there is a hate crime.
00:18:56.000 A hate crime against who?
00:18:58.040 Drag queens?
00:18:59.220 Drag queens are now a protected class of people?
00:19:03.220 I mean, what's the, you know,
00:19:06.960 this isn't even,
00:19:07.740 we're going to try to charge them
00:19:08.820 with disturbing the peace
00:19:10.080 or anything like that.
00:19:14.040 Harassment.
00:19:14.600 I mean, they might try to throw
00:19:15.420 some of those charges on there too.
00:19:16.600 I'm sure they will.
00:19:17.620 But we're not talking about that part of it.
00:19:19.820 Okay.
00:19:21.500 Hate crime?
00:19:24.240 Now, even according to the way
00:19:25.860 the hate crime laws are written,
00:19:27.540 and there are a lot of problems
00:19:28.440 with the way they're written,
00:19:29.220 there are a lot of problems
00:19:29.840 with just the hate crime category in general,
00:19:32.480 but the way it's supposed to work
00:19:35.280 is that if you do something discriminatory
00:19:39.200 or in a harassing manner
00:19:41.820 towards a protected class of people,
00:19:44.440 and again, the fact that there are protected classes,
00:19:47.840 which means that there are then unprotected classes,
00:19:50.140 the fact that we have this
00:19:51.220 is in itself a huge problem,
00:19:54.120 and also unconstitutional, I would say,
00:19:56.220 because everybody's guaranteed equality under the law,
00:19:58.500 and when you single out certain classes as protected
00:20:00.620 and other classes as not,
00:20:02.400 then that's not equality under the law.
00:20:03.760 But putting that aside for a second,
00:20:05.400 are drag queens protected classes now?
00:20:07.800 That's like a demographic.
00:20:09.200 A guy who enjoys cross-dressing is now,
00:20:13.660 that's their own category of people.
00:20:19.040 Says, according to Yahoo News,
00:20:20.880 California police are investigating
00:20:22.260 after a group of men allegedly interrupted
00:20:24.040 a drag queen story hour
00:20:25.120 at a library in San Francisco Bay Area.
00:20:26.880 The men who police believe
00:20:27.960 to be part of the far-right Proud Boys
00:20:29.800 reportedly yelled homophobic
00:20:31.720 and anti-LGBTQ plus slurs.
00:20:34.080 Now, that part,
00:20:37.160 the homophobic and anti-LGBTQ slurs,
00:20:39.000 I didn't hear that in the video.
00:20:40.380 Now, the video does go on for a while longer.
00:20:42.180 Maybe there are other videos, too.
00:20:43.120 I don't know.
00:20:44.020 I didn't hear in that clip.
00:20:46.560 And they don't,
00:20:47.460 in this article,
00:20:48.220 they don't quote what exactly those slurs were.
00:20:51.720 Everything I heard in that clip
00:20:53.040 was directed at the drag queen
00:20:55.900 and the whole concept of combining drag queens and kids.
00:20:59.120 That's their problem.
00:20:59.880 On Saturday afternoon,
00:21:03.580 police responded to calls around 1.30 p.m.
00:21:05.240 that there was a disturbance
00:21:06.100 at the San Lorenzo Library
00:21:07.400 during the story reading.
00:21:09.240 Authorities said that a group of five men
00:21:10.600 had disrupted the event,
00:21:11.560 which was attended by children,
00:21:12.780 parents, and community members.
00:21:14.240 The men began to shout homophobic
00:21:15.620 and transphobic slurs at the event organizer.
00:21:18.600 The men were described as extremely aggressive
00:21:20.520 with a threatening, violent demeanor,
00:21:22.280 causing people to fear for their safety.
00:21:24.780 An active hate crime investigation is underway,
00:21:27.340 as is an investigation
00:21:28.320 into the annoying and harassing of children.
00:21:35.120 The annoying and harassing of children.
00:21:39.180 Annoying?
00:21:39.640 Is that actual crime now, first of all?
00:21:42.420 Being annoying is a crime?
00:21:45.780 There are a lot of people I know
00:21:47.120 who need to be arrested in that case.
00:21:49.820 But no, they weren't harassing the children.
00:21:52.280 If they were harassing anybody,
00:21:53.220 it was the adults.
00:21:54.200 That's what all this is directed at.
00:21:55.360 They were there because their belief
00:21:59.000 is that the children are being harassed
00:22:01.080 by the event.
00:22:05.340 And they're correct in that belief, by the way.
00:22:08.180 The police added,
00:22:08.920 as we celebrate Pride Month,
00:22:10.920 we will be swift in our response
00:22:12.420 to any incidents where there are threats
00:22:14.020 to harm members of this community.
00:22:15.800 Of what community?
00:22:17.220 The drag queen community.
00:22:18.380 Or are you saying that dressing in drag
00:22:24.060 in front of children
00:22:24.840 is, what,
00:22:26.920 synonymous
00:22:27.640 with the gay community in general?
00:22:32.420 I think there are plenty of gay people
00:22:33.620 that would disagree with that.
00:22:37.080 You know,
00:22:37.680 I'm pretty sure there are plenty of gay people
00:22:39.140 who would say that,
00:22:39.900 just because you're opposed
00:22:44.660 to drag queen story hour,
00:22:48.280 like that has nothing to do with me.
00:22:52.520 This to me seems very,
00:22:54.820 it's sort of a similar thing
00:22:56.880 to when people,
00:22:59.240 just like what's going on
00:23:00.260 with Jack Del Rio,
00:23:01.620 who criticized BLM rioting
00:23:05.440 and then is accused
00:23:06.000 of being racist
00:23:06.820 by people who I guess
00:23:08.860 are saying,
00:23:10.880 are insinuating
00:23:11.540 that violent rioting
00:23:14.320 is an essential part
00:23:15.540 of black culture.
00:23:17.300 That's what they're saying.
00:23:18.580 And that if you oppose
00:23:19.760 violent rioting,
00:23:20.520 then you're opposing black people.
00:23:23.340 So the law enforcement here,
00:23:24.520 I guess they're saying
00:23:24.940 the same thing
00:23:25.460 kind of about the gay community.
00:23:26.620 They're saying that
00:23:27.200 dressing in drag
00:23:28.400 in front of children
00:23:28.880 is an essential part
00:23:29.720 of gay culture.
00:23:30.960 And therefore,
00:23:31.360 if you oppose that,
00:23:32.480 then you oppose gay people.
00:23:33.280 That's what they are saying.
00:23:35.440 They're either saying that
00:23:38.560 or they're saying
00:23:39.800 that drag queens themselves
00:23:43.000 are their own
00:23:44.100 protected class,
00:23:45.000 protected community.
00:23:46.440 Whatever,
00:23:46.900 however you explain it,
00:23:47.800 it's totally insane.
00:23:50.640 Absolute nonsense.
00:23:55.360 The host drag queen,
00:23:57.180 Panda Dulce,
00:23:58.280 told local public radio station,
00:24:00.700 KQED,
00:24:01.460 that when the men
00:24:02.460 came in shouting,
00:24:03.300 okay,
00:24:05.480 they're using
00:24:05.820 the female pronouns,
00:24:07.060 that when the men
00:24:08.900 came in shouting
00:24:09.580 at her,
00:24:11.000 she was eventually
00:24:11.760 escorted out of the room
00:24:12.740 by a security guard
00:24:13.660 for her safety.
00:24:16.980 That's the other thing
00:24:17.680 I've actually noticed
00:24:18.460 this recently.
00:24:19.160 When the media
00:24:20.000 talks about drag queens,
00:24:21.560 they use the female pronoun,
00:24:24.280 but the whole point
00:24:25.520 of a drag queen
00:24:26.740 is that it's a man
00:24:27.860 dressing as a woman.
00:24:28.820 That's what a drag queen
00:24:29.920 is by definition.
00:24:31.440 So now they are connecting
00:24:34.000 drag queens
00:24:34.720 and transgenderism.
00:24:38.620 But a drag queen,
00:24:39.840 if it's a woman
00:24:41.960 dressed like that,
00:24:43.640 then it's not drag.
00:24:44.580 That's just a woman.
00:24:47.920 So what?
00:24:48.600 I guess in the media,
00:24:49.620 in the article,
00:24:50.420 they are just sort of
00:24:51.600 referring to her,
00:24:53.580 referring to him
00:24:54.900 as the character
00:24:56.280 that he's playing,
00:24:57.200 which is a female.
00:24:57.760 I don't know.
00:25:01.580 Dolce,
00:25:02.040 whose name is
00:25:02.580 Kyle Casey Chu,
00:25:04.740 says,
00:25:05.320 I didn't know
00:25:05.700 if they were armed.
00:25:06.540 I was only acutely aware
00:25:07.600 of the fact
00:25:08.040 that neither myself
00:25:08.940 nor any of the other
00:25:09.720 librarians were armed.
00:25:11.880 They totally freaked out
00:25:13.140 the kids.
00:25:13.640 They got right in our faces.
00:25:14.740 They jeered.
00:25:15.800 They attempted to escalate
00:25:16.800 to violence.
00:25:17.780 I didn't see any of that,
00:25:18.740 did you?
00:25:19.040 I didn't see
00:25:19.480 in anyone's face.
00:25:20.860 I didn't see an attempt
00:25:21.540 to escalate to violence.
00:25:22.480 And I didn't see them
00:25:27.380 attacking the kids
00:25:28.240 in any way whatsoever.
00:25:31.220 All right,
00:25:31.800 let's move to this.
00:25:32.980 From the Daily Caller,
00:25:34.600 it says,
00:25:35.780 there's a movement
00:25:37.540 afoot now.
00:25:38.120 It says,
00:25:38.320 Republicans in the
00:25:38.940 Texas State Legislature,
00:25:40.660 led by former
00:25:41.440 Department of Health
00:25:42.080 and Human Services
00:25:42.680 Chief of Staff
00:25:43.380 Brian Harrison,
00:25:44.560 are requesting
00:25:45.100 that a deputy
00:25:45.700 HHS secretary
00:25:47.400 provide them
00:25:47.980 with the department's
00:25:48.720 legal definition
00:25:49.600 of womanhood.
00:25:51.440 President Joe Biden
00:25:52.180 created a gender
00:25:53.000 policy council
00:25:53.900 in March 2021
00:25:54.800 with the goals
00:25:55.580 of reviewing
00:25:56.040 the Trump administration's
00:25:56.980 approach to the Title IX
00:25:57.920 and addressing
00:25:58.440 gender inequity
00:26:00.600 in the U.S.
00:26:01.200 and globally.
00:26:01.800 Since then,
00:26:02.160 he's ordered bans
00:26:02.760 on discrimination
00:26:03.300 in education
00:26:03.900 based on gender identity,
00:26:05.340 which could lead
00:26:05.860 to male students
00:26:06.460 using female bathrooms.
00:26:07.520 He's preparing
00:26:07.840 to require states
00:26:08.620 to permit the prescription
00:26:09.860 of puberty blockers
00:26:10.840 and other hormones
00:26:11.580 to minor patients.
00:26:13.220 However,
00:26:13.460 the Republicans note
00:26:14.140 the Biden administration
00:26:14.740 has not publicly stated
00:26:15.840 how they define
00:26:16.640 the term woman
00:26:17.380 under federal law.
00:26:18.520 So this is,
00:26:22.920 as always,
00:26:25.720 a good rhetorical tactic.
00:26:29.620 Of course,
00:26:30.260 what my whole film
00:26:31.160 is built around
00:26:31.880 of trying to get them
00:26:33.120 to define the word woman
00:26:34.160 because it brings down
00:26:34.900 the gender ideology
00:26:35.660 of the House of Cards.
00:26:36.260 But it's more than that also.
00:26:37.200 It's actually a legal question
00:26:38.500 that if under Title IX,
00:26:41.980 women are supposed
00:26:42.700 to be protected
00:26:43.380 in all these various ways,
00:26:44.760 then there is a legal question
00:26:47.640 about how you define
00:26:48.880 the word.
00:26:49.740 What actually is a woman?
00:26:51.980 So we could talk about this
00:26:53.260 in the rhetorical sense.
00:26:54.400 We could talk about it
00:26:55.060 ideologically.
00:26:55.980 You know,
00:26:56.120 we can have this discussion,
00:26:57.640 but there's also
00:26:58.840 a legal question here,
00:27:00.300 which is one of the reasons
00:27:02.860 why Marsha Blackburn
00:27:03.960 asking Ketaji Brown Jackson,
00:27:06.040 that was not a gotcha moment.
00:27:08.520 I mean,
00:27:08.980 it's never a gotcha moment
00:27:10.000 to ask somebody
00:27:10.500 what is a woman.
00:27:11.520 It's only,
00:27:12.040 if it's a gotcha moment,
00:27:12.700 that's their own fault.
00:27:14.380 Okay,
00:27:14.580 if you can get got
00:27:15.660 by that question,
00:27:16.700 that just shows you
00:27:17.660 there's something wrong
00:27:18.260 with your own viewpoint
00:27:19.380 and your own worldview.
00:27:20.820 But it's actually,
00:27:21.660 it's a legal question
00:27:22.760 because there are laws
00:27:25.180 protecting women.
00:27:26.920 And so,
00:27:27.520 what do we mean by that?
00:27:28.900 Who qualifies
00:27:29.980 under those kind of laws?
00:27:34.660 Eventually,
00:27:35.380 this is something
00:27:36.140 that's going to make
00:27:36.560 its way up to the Supreme Court.
00:27:37.620 I mean,
00:27:37.780 there's going to have to be
00:27:38.560 a ruling on this.
00:27:43.940 And yet,
00:27:44.520 they,
00:27:44.840 of course,
00:27:45.180 can't define it.
00:27:46.400 So,
00:27:46.700 this is a brilliant move
00:27:47.380 by the Texas Republicans,
00:27:48.560 I think.
00:27:49.160 More news out of the administration.
00:27:50.540 The energy secretary
00:27:51.440 has been asked,
00:27:53.020 as you might imagine,
00:27:54.300 if there's any plan
00:27:55.480 to bring down gas prices.
00:27:58.540 And all these various secretaries
00:28:00.240 of all these agencies,
00:28:01.920 most of the time,
00:28:02.900 you wonder,
00:28:03.360 what exactly are they doing
00:28:04.200 with their time?
00:28:05.320 We know what Pete Buttigieg
00:28:06.100 has been doing.
00:28:06.640 He's been hanging out
00:28:07.400 at his house.
00:28:07.940 But most of the time,
00:28:10.600 there's not a lot
00:28:11.100 for them to do.
00:28:12.220 But then you have situations
00:28:13.300 that arise where,
00:28:14.960 okay,
00:28:15.700 this is your purview.
00:28:17.260 Like,
00:28:17.380 you should actually
00:28:17.840 be doing something here.
00:28:18.740 So,
00:28:18.880 we've got a major problem
00:28:20.180 with gas prices right now.
00:28:21.860 Crisis level problem,
00:28:23.060 and it's only getting worse.
00:28:24.380 You're the energy secretary.
00:28:27.140 Now it's time
00:28:27.780 to leap into action.
00:28:28.540 This is your turn.
00:28:29.320 Let's do something about it.
00:28:31.120 And here's what
00:28:32.060 she has to offer.
00:28:32.780 Listen.
00:28:34.360 You filled up your EV
00:28:35.900 by charging,
00:28:37.600 and you filled up
00:28:38.320 your gas tank
00:28:39.280 with gasoline,
00:28:40.700 and you have
00:28:40.980 the same size tank.
00:28:42.500 You would save
00:28:43.180 $60 per fill-up
00:28:45.280 by going electric
00:28:47.020 rather than
00:28:47.900 using gasoline.
00:28:48.920 So,
00:28:49.240 it's a very compelling case.
00:28:51.180 But again,
00:28:51.660 to your point,
00:28:52.360 we want to bring down
00:28:53.180 the price
00:28:53.760 at the point of purchase.
00:28:57.780 Right.
00:28:58.400 So,
00:28:58.760 the first answer is,
00:29:00.000 let's go to electric cars.
00:29:01.460 That's the answer
00:29:02.060 to the gas price.
00:29:02.660 The real answer for her
00:29:03.620 is,
00:29:04.120 you know,
00:29:04.460 gas prices
00:29:05.120 aren't a problem.
00:29:06.720 What's the answer
00:29:07.420 to the gas prices problem?
00:29:09.300 Well,
00:29:09.620 to the Biden administration,
00:29:11.000 there is no problem.
00:29:12.060 This is actually
00:29:12.680 a good thing,
00:29:13.420 and they've been
00:29:13.860 pretty clear about that.
00:29:15.380 They see this
00:29:16.180 as an opportunity.
00:29:17.060 They do not want
00:29:18.100 to fix these problems.
00:29:20.400 That's a big reason why,
00:29:21.820 you know,
00:29:21.920 we talk about incompetence
00:29:23.140 in the Biden administration.
00:29:24.000 There's a lot of incompetence,
00:29:25.040 of course.
00:29:26.300 But is it pure incompetence
00:29:28.820 that has led
00:29:30.240 to these problems?
00:29:30.960 Is it pure incompetence
00:29:31.940 that prevents them
00:29:32.600 from solving the problems?
00:29:33.800 No.
00:29:34.000 There's also just
00:29:34.800 a lack of will,
00:29:35.660 a lack of desire.
00:29:36.700 They don't see it
00:29:37.320 as a problem.
00:29:41.300 The other thing
00:29:42.020 that the Biden administration
00:29:42.660 was doing,
00:29:43.240 and in some of these interviews,
00:29:44.160 the energy secretary
00:29:44.980 has been calling
00:29:46.280 on the oil companies
00:29:48.980 to step up
00:29:51.280 and be patriots
00:29:52.280 and just bring down
00:29:53.100 the prices on their own.
00:29:54.540 There are a lot of problems
00:29:55.620 with that proposed solution,
00:29:57.740 but one of them
00:29:58.660 is that
00:29:59.240 you are beseeching,
00:30:02.000 right?
00:30:02.340 The oil companies
00:30:03.480 while in the next breath
00:30:05.420 announcing your intention
00:30:07.860 to bankrupt them.
00:30:10.280 So that's just,
00:30:11.600 that's not great outreach,
00:30:14.100 let's just say.
00:30:16.260 You're going to have
00:30:16.600 difficulty working
00:30:17.620 with someone
00:30:19.200 or with an industry
00:30:20.100 when that is your sales pitch.
00:30:23.080 Hey,
00:30:23.500 help us out right now
00:30:24.380 in the short term
00:30:25.160 and five years from now
00:30:26.760 we'll bankrupt you.
00:30:27.740 Sound good?
00:30:28.220 Not exactly going to work.
00:30:31.300 All right,
00:30:31.640 moving on to this.
00:30:32.380 Ibram Kendi
00:30:33.040 has a new book out
00:30:35.160 and the new book
00:30:36.020 is called
00:30:36.440 How to Raise an Anti-Racist.
00:30:39.180 So he's going back
00:30:40.000 to the same,
00:30:40.420 well,
00:30:40.500 he already has
00:30:41.160 Anti-Racist Baby.
00:30:42.640 He wrote that one,
00:30:43.260 I believe.
00:30:43.800 And now he's got
00:30:44.620 How to Raise an Anti-Racist.
00:30:48.380 And all of these books,
00:30:49.500 you find them all over
00:30:50.160 Barnes & Noble
00:30:50.820 and all these media interviews
00:30:53.080 and everything.
00:30:54.100 Nobody actually reads
00:30:54.840 or buys these books.
00:30:56.400 But he was on MSNBC
00:30:57.880 talking about the book
00:30:58.940 and he said a few things
00:30:59.760 that I actually think
00:31:00.340 are worth responding to.
00:31:02.320 Let's listen.
00:31:03.860 So tell everybody
00:31:05.460 why you wrote the book.
00:31:08.020 Well,
00:31:08.480 I wrote the book
00:31:09.340 because the more
00:31:11.160 that I researched
00:31:12.680 this issue
00:31:15.720 about race
00:31:16.540 and children,
00:31:17.540 the more that I
00:31:18.700 continued on
00:31:19.620 as a father,
00:31:20.880 the more I realized
00:31:21.960 that kids are actually
00:31:23.320 the most vulnerable
00:31:24.840 to racism,
00:31:27.000 but they're the ones
00:31:28.780 who were least likely
00:31:29.700 to engage about it.
00:31:30.860 And so I wanted
00:31:31.400 to write a book
00:31:32.180 that would allow
00:31:32.960 parents and teachers
00:31:34.060 and caregivers
00:31:34.760 to figure out ways
00:31:36.260 to protect our children
00:31:37.500 from these simplistic messages
00:31:39.480 like dark is ugly
00:31:40.720 and light,
00:31:41.360 you know,
00:31:42.220 is good
00:31:42.660 so they can grow up
00:31:43.700 to be whole people
00:31:45.700 who recognize
00:31:47.020 racial equality.
00:31:48.520 And your message
00:31:49.340 is that parents
00:31:50.780 should understand
00:31:51.540 that children
00:31:52.100 are already
00:31:53.680 forming opinions
00:31:54.500 at a very early age,
00:31:55.980 some research says,
00:31:57.140 as early as three
00:31:58.280 or four years old.
00:32:00.540 They do,
00:32:01.500 and that's the
00:32:02.180 unfortunate truth.
00:32:03.960 But according
00:32:04.680 to scholars,
00:32:05.640 by three years old,
00:32:07.180 our kids
00:32:07.700 have an adult-like
00:32:09.360 concept of race.
00:32:10.700 By three years old,
00:32:11.780 our kids are attaching
00:32:13.000 qualities like
00:32:15.360 smartness and honesty
00:32:16.980 and cleanliness
00:32:17.540 to skin color.
00:32:19.940 And all the while,
00:32:20.700 parents are thinking
00:32:22.300 and teachers
00:32:22.940 that our kids
00:32:24.240 aren't thinking about
00:32:25.280 skin color
00:32:26.200 or even seeing it.
00:32:27.200 And so we're not
00:32:28.080 stepping in
00:32:28.840 to counteract
00:32:29.660 those messages
00:32:30.300 and we need to.
00:32:32.700 Okay.
00:32:33.900 He says,
00:32:34.680 we've got to
00:32:34.960 counteract the message
00:32:35.900 that kids are getting
00:32:36.860 that dark skin
00:32:38.940 is ugly
00:32:39.540 and light skin
00:32:40.380 is good.
00:32:40.760 Where are those messages
00:32:41.420 exactly?
00:32:43.120 Where are they
00:32:43.720 hearing those messages?
00:32:44.520 I mean,
00:32:44.700 who is saying that?
00:32:45.800 Who exactly is saying that?
00:32:46.660 Give me one example.
00:32:47.540 Give me like
00:32:49.560 one modern example
00:32:50.700 of that message
00:32:53.940 being promoted
00:32:54.620 anywhere,
00:32:55.620 at least of all
00:32:56.060 to kids.
00:32:56.600 Where exactly
00:32:57.300 are they getting it?
00:32:58.080 I mean,
00:32:58.380 they're certainly
00:32:58.780 not getting it
00:32:59.400 in media,
00:33:00.920 in Hollywood.
00:33:01.580 They're getting like
00:33:02.080 almost the opposite
00:33:02.900 actually of that message.
00:33:05.060 They're not getting it
00:33:05.920 in school.
00:33:06.540 So where are they
00:33:07.040 getting it?
00:33:07.300 What are you talking about?
00:33:09.520 Yeah,
00:33:09.780 so I bravely
00:33:10.780 am speaking out
00:33:11.800 against the message
00:33:13.100 that dark skin
00:33:14.840 is ugly.
00:33:16.000 Well,
00:33:16.980 it's always really brave
00:33:18.680 to speak out
00:33:19.200 against an idea
00:33:21.460 that nobody
00:33:22.220 is proposing
00:33:22.960 in the first place.
00:33:25.120 But more to the point,
00:33:26.280 he says that kids
00:33:27.360 are the most vulnerable
00:33:28.720 to racism
00:33:29.500 and that again
00:33:31.020 is the opposite
00:33:32.260 of the truth.
00:33:34.380 That's just not true
00:33:35.520 at all.
00:33:37.440 In fact,
00:33:38.340 kids,
00:33:39.440 it doesn't actually
00:33:40.900 occur to kids
00:33:42.260 to be racist.
00:33:43.640 And how do I know that?
00:33:45.160 Well,
00:33:46.300 I know that because
00:33:47.420 I've been around kids.
00:33:48.780 I have kids.
00:33:50.080 Like,
00:33:50.340 I'm familiar
00:33:50.900 with the concept
00:33:52.360 of childhood.
00:33:53.580 I was a kid
00:33:54.320 at some point.
00:33:55.020 So there's a lot
00:33:55.640 of just sort of
00:33:57.060 experience,
00:33:58.380 including lived experience,
00:34:00.000 that tells us this.
00:34:03.180 I also know
00:34:03.980 because I grew up
00:34:04.820 in the 90s
00:34:06.380 when there was not
00:34:07.940 this obsession
00:34:08.540 over race.
00:34:09.080 It wasn't a racial utopia,
00:34:11.300 but it was not
00:34:12.160 the same obsession.
00:34:15.360 And I've mentioned before,
00:34:16.820 I can remember
00:34:17.360 going to
00:34:18.100 grade school
00:34:20.640 in a very
00:34:23.020 racially diverse
00:34:24.280 area
00:34:24.920 and all people,
00:34:26.420 lots of
00:34:26.900 black classmates,
00:34:29.320 Asian,
00:34:29.900 so on and so forth.
00:34:31.660 And yes,
00:34:32.520 as a kid,
00:34:33.320 you notice
00:34:34.060 the physical differences,
00:34:35.720 of course.
00:34:36.780 You notice it,
00:34:37.500 but you don't
00:34:38.080 attach a lot
00:34:38.860 of significance to it.
00:34:39.860 You might have
00:34:41.220 some dumb,
00:34:42.020 like childlike
00:34:42.800 sort of innocent
00:34:43.480 questions about
00:34:44.480 how exactly
00:34:46.620 does it happen
00:34:47.280 that people look
00:34:47.900 different or
00:34:48.620 end up with
00:34:49.220 different color
00:34:49.740 skin and all
00:34:50.480 that kind of stuff.
00:34:50.940 In fact,
00:34:51.080 those aren't
00:34:51.360 really dumb
00:34:51.800 questions at all,
00:34:52.460 actually.
00:34:53.780 So you might
00:34:54.420 have questions
00:34:54.840 like that.
00:34:56.500 And kids
00:34:57.200 might be prone
00:34:57.960 to saying things
00:34:58.940 that are kind
00:34:59.300 of awkward
00:34:59.700 because they
00:35:00.500 don't know
00:35:00.840 any better.
00:35:03.040 But they don't
00:35:03.720 attach,
00:35:04.160 kids actually
00:35:04.620 do not attach
00:35:05.520 significance
00:35:06.160 to these things.
00:35:07.000 they just
00:35:08.840 basically see
00:35:09.380 people as
00:35:09.980 people.
00:35:10.820 And just
00:35:11.520 take your kid
00:35:12.680 to a playground
00:35:13.280 anywhere and
00:35:15.600 just see how
00:35:16.040 they're playing
00:35:16.440 with kids.
00:35:17.480 They don't
00:35:17.960 stop.
00:35:18.540 You're not
00:35:18.880 going to see
00:35:19.180 kids on a
00:35:19.720 playground
00:35:20.180 stop another
00:35:21.940 kid and say,
00:35:22.460 oh, no,
00:35:22.760 you have a
00:35:22.980 different skin
00:35:23.360 color.
00:35:23.620 You're not
00:35:23.760 going to
00:35:23.880 play with
00:35:24.140 us.
00:35:24.260 It just
00:35:24.500 doesn't
00:35:24.820 happen.
00:35:27.160 So if
00:35:28.260 you were to
00:35:28.620 just leave
00:35:29.240 kids alone,
00:35:31.840 they're already,
00:35:32.400 most kids are
00:35:32.940 already living in
00:35:34.120 a very diverse
00:35:35.780 environment,
00:35:36.900 okay?
00:35:37.540 So if you
00:35:38.020 were to just
00:35:38.640 let them be
00:35:39.820 kids, leave
00:35:41.060 them alone,
00:35:42.400 kind of leave
00:35:42.980 them to their
00:35:43.460 own devices on
00:35:44.420 this particular
00:35:45.080 issue, it's
00:35:46.700 not going to
00:35:47.020 be an issue.
00:35:48.660 No, it's
00:35:49.220 people like
00:35:49.660 Ibram X.
00:35:50.400 Kendi who
00:35:52.380 have to come
00:35:52.940 around and
00:35:54.140 tell the kids
00:35:55.480 that there's a
00:35:56.560 significance here.
00:35:59.220 No, so it's
00:36:00.480 actually the
00:36:00.780 opposite message.
00:36:02.860 He and all
00:36:04.240 the so-called
00:36:04.660 anti-racist
00:36:05.380 people, they're
00:36:06.320 the ones
00:36:06.740 telling kids
00:36:07.440 that, oh,
00:36:08.800 no, you
00:36:09.180 know what?
00:36:09.680 You guys all
00:36:10.300 look different
00:36:10.800 and the fact
00:36:11.840 that you look
00:36:12.280 different is
00:36:12.780 very significant
00:36:13.760 and here are
00:36:16.280 all the reasons
00:36:16.760 why it's
00:36:17.220 significant.
00:36:19.240 And not only
00:36:19.940 that, but the
00:36:20.400 other thing they
00:36:20.760 say to the
00:36:21.080 kids is, well,
00:36:21.720 you see these
00:36:22.060 kids over here,
00:36:22.880 these are the
00:36:23.260 white kids and
00:36:25.040 their ancestors
00:36:26.160 are all racist
00:36:26.940 and they're
00:36:27.360 oppressive.
00:36:29.040 And you over
00:36:29.700 here, you're the
00:36:30.200 black kids and
00:36:31.080 you're being
00:36:32.220 systemically
00:36:32.780 oppressed.
00:36:33.260 In fact, you're
00:36:33.740 being oppressed
00:36:34.340 by these kids
00:36:35.080 over here and
00:36:35.840 you might not
00:36:36.400 even know it and
00:36:37.120 they don't know
00:36:37.500 that they're
00:36:37.740 oppressing you,
00:36:38.180 but they are.
00:36:39.700 And here are
00:36:40.260 all the privileges
00:36:41.000 that these kids,
00:36:41.920 these white kids
00:36:42.420 are getting that
00:36:42.880 you're not getting.
00:36:43.800 And it may seem
00:36:44.400 like you get the
00:36:45.020 same privileges and
00:36:45.760 you're living
00:36:46.040 basically the same
00:36:46.680 kind of life, but
00:36:47.460 you're not.
00:36:47.840 No, they get all
00:36:48.260 these privileges and
00:36:49.400 you don't get them.
00:36:49.940 So people like
00:36:50.900 Ibram Kendi, they're
00:36:51.560 the ones doing that.
00:36:54.180 Under the guise of
00:36:55.180 anti-racism, of
00:36:56.480 curing kids of a
00:36:57.480 racism that they
00:36:58.100 don't even actually
00:36:58.660 have in the first
00:36:59.260 place, they are
00:37:00.300 creating it.
00:37:01.140 They're creating
00:37:01.760 racial divisions and
00:37:02.580 of course they're
00:37:02.960 doing it entirely
00:37:03.740 on purpose.
00:37:06.040 All right, speaking
00:37:07.220 of black issues, I
00:37:08.460 thought this was
00:37:08.900 great from Ron
00:37:09.520 DeSantis.
00:37:10.280 Here he is
00:37:10.680 expressing his
00:37:11.440 pride.
00:37:11.780 And I thought
00:37:11.940 this was, you
00:37:13.140 know, Ron
00:37:13.580 DeSantis gets a
00:37:14.080 bad rap sometimes
00:37:14.980 as not being the
00:37:16.140 most progressive
00:37:16.580 guy.
00:37:16.860 But here he is
00:37:17.260 expressing his
00:37:17.940 pride in one of
00:37:20.320 his most prominent
00:37:21.840 African-American
00:37:22.700 supporters.
00:37:23.340 So what I would
00:37:25.660 say, you know, I'm
00:37:26.760 focused on 2022, but
00:37:29.000 with Elon Musk, what
00:37:29.960 I would say is, you
00:37:31.080 know, I welcome
00:37:31.620 support from
00:37:32.420 African-Americans.
00:37:33.300 What can I say?
00:37:38.680 So somebody asked
00:37:39.680 him about Elon Musk
00:37:40.820 saying that he
00:37:41.260 potentially will
00:37:42.140 support him in
00:37:42.920 2024, and that was
00:37:43.900 his answer.
00:37:44.600 So that's, you
00:37:46.540 got to appreciate
00:37:47.100 that.
00:37:47.540 I mean, he's not
00:37:47.800 the first one to
00:37:48.240 make that joke, but
00:37:49.220 to hear a joke like
00:37:50.040 that, which isn't
00:37:51.040 really a joke, I
00:37:51.720 mean, it is actually
00:37:52.800 true, technically,
00:37:54.040 that Elon Musk is
00:37:54.780 an African-American
00:37:55.640 immigrant.
00:37:56.060 He is.
00:37:57.980 But to hear that
00:37:58.580 joke from a
00:37:59.000 prominent politician,
00:38:00.000 that's just, that's
00:38:00.780 yet another reason
00:38:02.680 to support Ron
00:38:05.520 DeSantis for 2024,
00:38:06.620 if he runs.
00:38:07.480 And, you know, the
00:38:08.660 word on the street is
00:38:09.360 that he probably
00:38:09.900 will.
00:38:10.400 I hope he does.
00:38:12.680 And, like, I'm not
00:38:13.160 going to make this,
00:38:13.800 I'm not going to go
00:38:14.180 into a whole other
00:38:14.660 thing here about
00:38:15.340 comparing Ron
00:38:16.280 DeSantis to
00:38:16.860 President Trump, but
00:38:17.360 I will just say that
00:38:19.160 DeSantis, to my
00:38:21.520 mind, is a
00:38:22.680 more effective
00:38:23.200 leader, a
00:38:24.260 more effective
00:38:24.780 executive, has
00:38:26.120 been way more
00:38:26.920 effective at
00:38:27.720 getting conservative
00:38:29.140 legislation actually
00:38:30.320 passed, conservative
00:38:31.120 policies put in
00:38:31.920 place, and I also
00:38:33.620 think he's funnier.
00:38:34.300 I think he's much
00:38:36.060 better, actually, at
00:38:36.860 trolling the left,
00:38:37.620 even than Trump
00:38:38.400 is.
00:38:39.020 Not that that
00:38:39.540 actually matters all
00:38:40.380 that much for a
00:38:41.700 president.
00:38:42.240 There are other
00:38:42.720 things that are
00:38:43.240 priorities over that,
00:38:44.280 but if you care
00:38:45.260 about that, to
00:38:46.920 whatever extent you
00:38:47.580 care about it, I
00:38:48.760 think that DeSantis
00:38:49.980 is actually better
00:38:50.620 at that.
00:38:51.740 He's a funnier,
00:38:52.660 more clever guy, and
00:38:53.880 that does actually
00:38:54.820 matter in terms of
00:38:56.300 politics.
00:38:57.840 Quick on your feet,
00:38:58.960 able to think on
00:38:59.600 your feet, having
00:39:01.040 some wit.
00:39:01.560 I just think DeSantis
00:39:03.240 is clearly, by far
00:39:08.740 and away, should be
00:39:09.700 considered the
00:39:10.160 favorite over Trump.
00:39:11.380 Here's, speaking of
00:39:12.280 which, so reporter
00:39:14.280 Kimberly Leonard, a
00:39:15.760 business insider, tweeted
00:39:17.280 this a couple days ago.
00:39:18.240 It says, Governor DeSantis,
00:39:19.700 who's 43, still has
00:39:21.740 over $21,000 in
00:39:23.060 student loans.
00:39:23.880 He doesn't trade
00:39:24.360 individual stocks.
00:39:25.420 His net worth is
00:39:26.180 $318,000, far lower
00:39:28.260 than many top
00:39:28.980 politicians, and if he
00:39:30.400 runs for president, he
00:39:31.360 may clock in at the
00:39:32.240 lowest net worth in a
00:39:33.660 crowded field.
00:39:34.500 So, yet another reason
00:39:35.840 to like DeSantis.
00:39:36.700 He's only 43.
00:39:37.700 I actually thought he's
00:39:38.220 a little bit older
00:39:38.600 than that.
00:39:39.260 He's only 43 years
00:39:40.080 old, and he's
00:39:41.260 basically a normal
00:39:42.360 human being.
00:39:43.100 I mean, he's
00:39:44.820 relatively well-off,
00:39:47.140 you know, compared
00:39:48.260 to the average
00:39:49.280 salary in the United
00:39:50.080 States, but his net
00:39:51.420 worth is only, you
00:39:53.100 know, only, you
00:39:54.280 could say only in
00:39:55.140 comparison to most
00:39:56.600 other people who run
00:39:57.460 for president.
00:39:57.900 He's not a
00:39:58.220 millionaire.
00:39:58.600 He's not a
00:39:58.860 billionaire.
00:40:01.840 Again, that's not
00:40:03.120 the most important
00:40:03.840 thing.
00:40:04.160 I think the most
00:40:04.680 important thing is,
00:40:05.600 is this going to be
00:40:06.260 an effective leader
00:40:07.120 who can actually
00:40:09.400 get these, put
00:40:10.040 these policies in
00:40:10.860 place?
00:40:11.180 That's what matters
00:40:11.820 the most.
00:40:13.120 But all the, even
00:40:14.260 when you look at
00:40:14.680 all the peripheral
00:40:15.180 stuff, I still
00:40:16.180 think he stacks up
00:40:16.860 really well.
00:40:18.020 All right.
00:40:19.100 Before we get to
00:40:19.700 the comment section,
00:40:20.320 there's one other
00:40:21.000 thing that I think
00:40:21.860 is incredibly
00:40:23.860 important that I
00:40:24.540 have to play for
00:40:25.080 you.
00:40:25.180 So the Audubon
00:40:26.120 Society is a group
00:40:27.440 dedicated to
00:40:28.340 conserving the
00:40:30.080 bird population, and
00:40:31.740 you may think that
00:40:34.080 there's no way to
00:40:34.920 politicize or sort
00:40:36.520 of wokify birds, but
00:40:39.640 you would be wrong.
00:40:40.840 So let's put the
00:40:41.560 tweet up first.
00:40:42.060 This is from the
00:40:42.500 Audubon Society.
00:40:43.320 They say, this
00:40:43.780 Pride Month, Audubon
00:40:44.960 partnered with drag
00:40:46.660 queen and
00:40:47.320 intersectional, wait,
00:40:49.180 sorry, drag queen
00:40:50.300 and intersectional
00:40:51.180 environmentalist,
00:40:52.500 Patty Gonia,
00:40:53.880 Patty Gonia, okay,
00:40:55.760 I just got that, to
00:40:57.700 bring you Birds
00:40:58.700 Tell Us.
00:41:00.320 Before we continue,
00:41:00.940 I just need to, can
00:41:01.940 we just stop for a
00:41:03.000 moment on drag queen
00:41:04.960 and intersectional
00:41:06.280 environmentalist.
00:41:09.580 Birds Tell Us, the
00:41:10.600 song of the
00:41:11.200 meadowlark, a
00:41:12.060 message of hope for
00:41:13.100 the future of our
00:41:13.800 planet as we face
00:41:14.820 climate change, if
00:41:16.020 we choose to
00:41:16.720 listen.
00:41:17.240 Okay, so this is a
00:41:17.980 song by Patty Gonia,
00:41:20.780 the intersectional
00:41:21.940 environmentalist drag
00:41:23.580 queen, and this is all
00:41:25.140 to, this is all for the
00:41:26.360 sake of defending the
00:41:28.000 birds and conserving the
00:41:29.160 bird population.
00:41:30.960 Let's, let's listen to
00:41:31.900 the song together.
00:41:32.500 Can we just stop, pause it
00:41:45.460 there for a second?
00:41:46.960 That guy, can we go back
00:41:47.960 to what he looks like,
00:41:48.880 his, what this guy's
00:41:50.140 dressed as?
00:41:50.960 Because I just, I always
00:41:52.520 ask this question, and
00:41:54.040 yeah, I don't understand,
00:41:56.700 what is, what are the
00:41:57.700 drag queens going for?
00:41:58.680 Like, who, who are you
00:42:00.880 supposed to be?
00:42:03.780 Why is it that drag
00:42:04.900 queens always look like
00:42:06.040 the evil stepmothers in
00:42:07.580 Disney films?
00:42:08.240 I just don't understand
00:42:09.420 it.
00:42:11.680 Anyway, we haven't heard
00:42:12.480 the song yet, so I don't
00:42:13.280 want, I don't want to
00:42:13.680 trash the guy too much
00:42:14.360 until we hear the song.
00:42:15.020 Let's keep going.
00:42:15.600 Birds tell us, birds tell
00:42:24.800 us that the world is
00:42:26.440 changing, that the climate
00:42:28.900 is changing.
00:42:31.020 They sing it over us and
00:42:33.720 around us in their songs
00:42:36.180 and in the songs they no
00:42:38.500 longer sing.
00:42:39.240 Will we choose to listen?
00:42:48.500 Birds tell us.
00:42:56.840 Do you know why birds sing
00:42:58.300 just before dawn?
00:42:59.640 No, I don't.
00:43:02.600 People believe it's to tell
00:43:04.060 each other that they made
00:43:05.020 it through the night.
00:43:06.100 No, that's not what, that's
00:43:06.980 not, I don't believe that.
00:43:07.880 As a way of saying, I'm
00:43:09.720 still here.
00:43:11.140 No, it's like, it's
00:43:11.820 mating, it's nothing to do
00:43:12.900 with that.
00:43:14.500 As a way of saying, I
00:43:15.800 made it.
00:43:16.540 That's not why birds sing.
00:43:18.040 That's incorrect bird
00:43:18.900 information.
00:43:19.520 This is the Autobahn
00:43:20.180 Society.
00:43:25.800 You think you at least
00:43:26.600 get some correct bird
00:43:27.600 facts out of this thing?
00:43:29.680 Birds sing to let us all
00:43:30.980 know that they're still
00:43:31.720 here, they survived the
00:43:32.540 night?
00:43:32.720 I don't think so.
00:43:33.720 Don't turn it down, keep
00:43:34.480 playing it.
00:43:35.080 We're going to play this
00:43:35.660 entire thing.
00:43:36.900 I've decided.
00:43:37.880 This is character building
00:43:40.000 for all of us.
00:43:40.600 We're going to make it
00:43:41.040 through this together.
00:43:41.660 It's a feathered thing
00:43:43.080 perched upon the soul.
00:43:45.900 Singing, never ceasing.
00:43:48.980 Giving wings.
00:43:50.680 This is not supposed to,
00:43:51.660 this is not supposed to be
00:43:52.640 funny.
00:43:52.940 I don't think, I don't
00:43:53.280 think they're going for
00:43:53.980 humor.
00:43:54.380 This is actually.
00:43:57.920 It can be a quiet sound.
00:43:59.920 What emotional reaction are
00:44:01.260 we supposed to be having?
00:44:02.460 Oh, it's over.
00:44:06.720 How am I, how are we
00:44:07.760 supposed, what, what are they
00:44:11.480 going for?
00:44:12.420 Is that I think that we're
00:44:13.320 supposed to be like emotionally
00:44:15.920 affected by that?
00:44:18.800 It is, it's, it is just
00:44:20.580 they're beyond parody.
00:44:21.980 The left is quite literally
00:44:24.200 beyond parody at this point.
00:44:25.300 But I will say one thing,
00:44:29.360 watching that, I am getting
00:44:30.740 some great ideas for my own
00:44:32.640 interpretive dance.
00:44:33.740 So that's the one positive
00:44:34.920 from this.
00:44:35.900 Let's get to the comment
00:44:36.760 section.
00:44:37.100 If you're a man, it's
00:44:38.780 required that you grow a
00:44:40.300 beard, hey, we're the
00:44:43.180 sweet baby gang.
00:44:47.800 Mycel Martinez says, Matt,
00:44:50.020 wannabe professor Dave had to
00:44:51.680 turn off his comments on his
00:44:52.880 reply video to you titled
00:44:54.660 canceled, canceled this.
00:44:56.500 He was getting triggered by
00:44:57.640 anyone who disagreed with
00:44:58.880 him and even F-bombed me and
00:45:00.820 called me a bigot for using
00:45:02.040 the harming children excuse.
00:45:04.540 Quote unquote, I was going
00:45:05.480 out of my way to be
00:45:06.040 respectful.
00:45:07.200 But yeah, same attitude as
00:45:08.260 the people you interviewed
00:45:08.920 in the documentary.
00:45:10.460 Oh yeah, Professor Dave.
00:45:11.560 I forgot that we, so yeah,
00:45:12.960 he was the, he was the
00:45:15.140 smarmy tool bag who gave
00:45:18.100 his, he's, you know, he was
00:45:19.340 too cool for school as
00:45:20.660 always.
00:45:21.120 And I'll answer this, what
00:45:22.300 is a woman question.
00:45:23.540 I'll give you the facts.
00:45:24.380 And it's just nothing, it's
00:45:26.020 just nothing but nonsense.
00:45:27.060 He went on for not with
00:45:28.000 nonsense for 20 minutes and
00:45:30.440 never actually answered the
00:45:31.280 question either.
00:45:32.840 So apparently he has a
00:45:33.980 response to me titled
00:45:35.300 canceled this.
00:45:36.480 And he's turned, and he's
00:45:37.700 turned the comments off.
00:45:38.520 That's great.
00:45:38.960 I didn't realize that he,
00:45:39.800 I'll have to go and check
00:45:40.580 that out.
00:45:42.540 All right.
00:45:44.400 Mountain N says in the early
00:45:45.640 seventies, if you wanted to
00:45:46.560 transition, you had to go
00:45:47.400 through a year of psychoanalysts
00:45:48.940 and psychotherapy.
00:45:49.800 therapy, and if they still
00:45:51.040 couldn't talk you out of it,
00:45:52.120 then the doctors would cut
00:45:53.280 you.
00:45:53.580 But until then, the
00:45:54.460 teenager or adult couldn't
00:45:55.780 get the surgery, and doctors
00:45:56.820 agreed to that regime of
00:45:58.440 waiting a year of therapy.
00:46:00.020 What happened to that system?
00:46:01.960 Yeah, well, that goes back to
00:46:03.320 what we talked about at the
00:46:03.900 beginning of the show, just
00:46:04.660 constantly doubling down,
00:46:06.020 constant progression in the
00:46:07.240 way that cancer progresses,
00:46:08.420 right?
00:46:08.580 It's like a progressing tumor.
00:46:10.900 Um, and it just gets worse
00:46:12.820 and worse because even a
00:46:15.380 system of, you have to wait
00:46:17.120 a year, uh, you know, you
00:46:19.740 have to be, even if it was,
00:46:21.660 you have to wait a year, you
00:46:22.760 can't be under the age of 18,
00:46:24.060 all these things.
00:46:25.120 Um, even that wouldn't make
00:46:27.760 it okay.
00:46:29.300 Because as I've said many times
00:46:31.080 now, I don't think the doctor
00:46:32.520 should be allowed to do this
00:46:33.880 kind of thing to anybody.
00:46:36.740 Um, but.
00:46:40.020 Even that wouldn't be okay.
00:46:43.520 And yet that would still be
00:46:45.220 somehow an improvement over
00:46:46.420 the insanity right now.
00:46:49.560 The fact that they don't even
00:46:51.060 have that, like they don't
00:46:52.120 have mandatory, they want
00:46:54.700 mandatory wait, waiting times
00:46:56.420 to buy guns, right?
00:46:58.640 Is there a mandatory wait for
00:47:00.820 chemical castration?
00:47:02.300 No.
00:47:04.380 Um, Spirit Matter says,
00:47:06.400 imagine Matt has become an
00:47:07.960 animal rights activist.
00:47:08.940 Yeah, you know what?
00:47:09.680 I'm, this, this is what's
00:47:11.260 happening now because the
00:47:12.060 world's turned on its head.
00:47:13.120 So I'm, uh, I had to speak
00:47:15.080 out for animal rights
00:47:15.960 yesterday.
00:47:16.980 At least the right, the
00:47:18.240 right of a horse to not be
00:47:19.620 crushed like a pancake from,
00:47:22.240 you know, morbidly obese
00:47:23.400 people riding on them.
00:47:24.640 So I got to speak out for
00:47:25.720 animal rights.
00:47:26.980 I have to speak out for the
00:47:28.220 birds now, even.
00:47:30.500 This is, this is, this is
00:47:31.660 who's looking out for the
00:47:32.380 birds of these, you know,
00:47:33.620 you got a drag queen dancing
00:47:34.760 around reciting slam poetry.
00:47:39.220 So now I got to take over
00:47:40.420 that, I think, defending the
00:47:41.680 birds.
00:47:43.480 And with what is a woman, I'm
00:47:44.720 now also the leading feminist
00:47:45.940 in the world.
00:47:46.620 So along with being the
00:47:48.620 leading LGBT author.
00:47:49.680 So everything is, uh,
00:47:50.540 everything's just turned
00:47:51.460 upside down.
00:47:52.520 Uh, let's see what else we
00:47:53.620 got.
00:47:53.840 Jammy Gitt says,
00:47:56.320 Christina Aguilera's song is
00:47:58.600 only bettered by Rachel
00:47:59.920 Bloom's sex junk on Bill
00:48:01.980 Nye's God Forsaken show.
00:48:03.740 The social engineers are
00:48:04.700 very clever though.
00:48:06.160 Every time she mentions
00:48:07.080 sex, I can't help thinking
00:48:08.220 of sex.
00:48:09.060 Yes, that's, uh, that is
00:48:09.760 clever.
00:48:10.040 I, you know, I read this
00:48:11.480 comment and you put in my
00:48:14.220 mind that song.
00:48:15.080 I completely forgotten
00:48:15.940 about it.
00:48:16.360 I blocked it out of my
00:48:17.540 mind.
00:48:18.280 I blocked out of my mind the
00:48:19.660 existence of Bill Nye, the
00:48:21.040 existence of that show.
00:48:22.060 I think it was on Netflix,
00:48:22.880 right?
00:48:23.840 For a, for a very brief
00:48:25.740 and strange period of
00:48:26.780 time, Bill Nye had a show
00:48:28.440 on Netflix and then I
00:48:30.160 remembered, yes, I'd
00:48:30.980 completely forgotten this
00:48:33.220 song performed by whoever
00:48:34.680 Rachel Bloom is called
00:48:35.760 sex junk.
00:48:36.700 And you know what?
00:48:37.400 Because you put that in my
00:48:38.460 mind, I almost decided to
00:48:40.000 play it on the show, but I
00:48:43.060 can't do that.
00:48:44.500 Even I, even that's too
00:48:45.680 fine.
00:48:45.840 I especially can't do that
00:48:46.840 after the drag queen thing.
00:48:47.740 So I can only choose one,
00:48:48.780 one of those things per
00:48:50.340 show.
00:48:51.440 This week was the premiere of
00:48:52.920 our summer blockbuster,
00:48:54.120 Terror on the Prairie.
00:48:55.060 The wait has been long, but
00:48:56.540 it's finally over.
00:48:57.460 Gina is back.
00:48:58.560 It was 18 months ago when
00:48:59.620 Disney fired Gina Carano over
00:49:01.200 a couple of social media
00:49:02.140 posts.
00:49:02.560 The Daily Wire hired her on
00:49:04.020 the spot and announced that
00:49:05.000 she'd be starring in and
00:49:05.800 producing our next original
00:49:06.760 film.
00:49:07.540 Well, that film is here and
00:49:08.560 you can watch it right now.
00:49:09.860 Terror on the Prairie is a
00:49:10.620 raw and visceral western with
00:49:12.180 Gina as you've never seen
00:49:13.400 her before.
00:49:13.900 Like a woman who refuses to
00:49:15.020 be canceled, she fights tooth
00:49:16.200 and nail to defend her family
00:49:17.260 from a gang of bloodthirsty
00:49:18.480 outlaws hellbent on revenge.
00:49:20.780 The Daily Wire's mission is to

00:49:23.120 the viewer without any agenda
00:49:24.400 except to make great movies.
00:49:26.260 I'm really excited for
00:49:26.920 everyone to see this film.
00:49:28.340 It's a high action western
00:49:29.720 without the wokeness.

00:49:48.400 I think also the great American
00:49:49.620 western film as well, and my
00:49:51.760 personal favorite.
00:49:52.700 He'll share his notes and

00:50:13.280 Eastern.
00:50:14.080 Now let's get to our daily
00:50:15.020 cancellation.
00:50:15.500 Today we cancel with a
00:50:21.220 vengeance, George Washington
00:50:22.440 University, which has decided
00:50:23.760 to discontinue the use of its
00:50:25.140 Colonials moniker and mascot,
00:50:27.100 citing concerns about
00:50:28.020 inclusivity.
00:50:29.420 The Daily Caller reports,
00:50:30.520 quote, George Washington
00:50:31.080 University's Board of
00:50:31.880 Trustees voted to rename the
00:50:33.220 Colonials moniker for the
00:50:34.420 school in the name of
00:50:35.800 inclusivity, according to a
00:50:36.900 statement from the
00:50:37.420 university.
00:50:37.900 The board voted to change
00:50:38.900 the name in hopes of finding
00:50:39.820 a name that unifies the
00:50:41.380 community, according to a
00:50:42.240 university press release.
00:50:43.460 The statement reads, quote,
00:50:44.280 The committee said that
00:50:45.620 changing names should be
00:50:46.860 rare, but also recognized
00:50:48.000 that the GW community was
00:50:49.440 divided on whether to change
00:50:50.580 the Colonials moniker.
00:50:52.020 In this case, the special
00:50:52.860 committee found that the
00:50:53.700 Colonials moniker does not
00:50:55.040 adequately match the values
00:50:56.440 of GW and could no longer
00:50:57.700 serve its purpose as a name
00:50:59.060 that unifies the community.
00:51:01.080 Now, what exactly is the
00:51:02.360 problem with Colonial?
00:51:04.620 Well, a student petition,
00:51:05.740 which garnered only 550
00:51:07.100 signatures in a school with a
00:51:08.520 total enrollment of 27,000,
00:51:11.380 yet they got their way
00:51:12.200 anyway.
00:51:13.100 This is what the petition
00:51:13.960 says, quote,
00:51:15.740 We as students of the
00:51:16.800 George Washington
00:51:17.300 University believe it is of
00:51:18.620 great exigence that the
00:51:20.040 university change its
00:51:21.120 official mascot.
00:51:22.400 The use of Colonials, no
00:51:23.800 matter how innocent the
00:51:24.800 intention, is received as
00:51:26.540 extremely offensive by not
00:51:27.920 only students of the
00:51:28.600 university, but the nation
00:51:29.920 and the world at large.
00:51:31.640 Yes, the nation and the
00:51:32.740 world.
00:51:33.080 The world is offended by the
00:51:35.080 George Washington
00:51:35.820 University mascot.
00:51:36.860 This is something that
00:51:37.420 people all across the world
00:51:38.800 are worried about.
00:51:39.540 Go to go down to the most
00:51:42.720 impoverished parts of India
00:51:44.180 and you're going to find
00:51:45.220 people who are worried,
00:51:46.200 just who are rocking
00:51:48.320 themselves to sleep,
00:51:49.500 worried about the George
00:51:50.820 Washington University mascot.
00:51:53.320 Anyway, it says the
00:51:54.520 historically negatively
00:51:55.600 charged figure of
00:51:56.660 Colonials has too deep a
00:51:58.320 connection to colonization
00:51:59.580 and glorifies the act of
00:52:01.340 systemic oppression.
00:52:03.480 Okay.
00:52:03.760 Yes, it's it's received this
00:52:05.700 way.
00:52:05.920 They say the people who
00:52:07.300 are complaining actually
00:52:08.220 recognize that their
00:52:09.300 interpretation is not
00:52:10.500 necessarily accurate.
00:52:12.200 The colonial mascot was
00:52:13.120 not meant in the way
00:52:14.100 they're taking it,
00:52:14.880 obviously, yet they've
00:52:16.180 chosen to receive it that
00:52:17.680 way.
00:52:18.000 And so the mascot must be
00:52:19.020 changed.
00:52:19.680 They've invented an
00:52:21.000 offensive mascot in their
00:52:22.340 heads, a mascot with
00:52:23.920 that glorifies systemic
00:52:25.900 oppression, and they're
00:52:27.080 projecting that figment of
00:52:28.440 their imagination onto the
00:52:29.640 real world.
00:52:31.060 What's more, they know that
00:52:32.760 they're doing this and they
00:52:33.880 acknowledge it.
00:52:34.540 But perhaps we shouldn't
00:52:36.360 judge them too harshly
00:52:37.200 until we know what
00:52:37.820 nicknames they suggest to
00:52:38.900 take its place.
00:52:39.400 I mean, if they have an
00:52:39.980 idea that's significantly
00:52:41.620 better than the old
00:52:42.620 mascot, maybe that's
00:52:43.660 reason enough to make the
00:52:45.440 change.
00:52:46.400 Fortunately, they do list
00:52:47.640 their suggestions in the
00:52:48.860 petition.
00:52:49.360 So this is what they say.
00:52:51.660 Alternative nickname
00:52:52.500 recommendations are
00:52:53.580 revolutionaries, river
00:52:55.460 horses, or hippos.
00:53:00.240 Now, revolutionaries, that's
00:53:01.880 not all that bad, except
00:53:03.300 that you know that when they
00:53:04.360 say revolutionaries, they
00:53:05.320 have in mind revolutionary
00:53:06.520 in the sense of BLM
00:53:07.920 rioters and Antifa
00:53:08.820 terrorists.
00:53:10.140 River horse sounds like a
00:53:11.720 gender-neutral name that
00:53:12.840 some blue-haired yoga
00:53:13.820 instructor would give her
00:53:14.700 child, a child she probably
00:53:16.260 had via surrogacy.
00:53:18.320 But then, hippos?
00:53:20.900 I mean, maybe there's some
00:53:22.020 connection between hippos and
00:53:23.200 George Washington that I'm
00:53:24.060 not aware of, but even so,
00:53:25.960 you could not choose a
00:53:27.040 goofier name or animal for
00:53:28.340 your mascot.
00:53:29.280 Now, it is true that hippos
00:53:30.240 are actually the deadliest
00:53:31.080 animals in Africa, but
00:53:33.060 intestinal parasites are
00:53:34.920 deadly also, and I assume
00:53:36.620 you wouldn't want to make
00:53:37.420 that into your mascot.
00:53:39.140 Or maybe you would.
00:53:41.060 The George Washington
00:53:41.980 University intestinal
00:53:43.380 parasites has a nice ring
00:53:44.820 to it.
00:53:45.300 And it's appropriate, too,
00:53:46.100 because there is a kind of
00:53:47.580 parasitic infestation
00:53:48.760 happening in our university
00:53:49.900 system right now, which
00:53:51.120 leads to ridiculous
00:53:51.920 decisions like this.
00:53:54.160 Specifically, there are
00:53:56.040 three reasons why changing
00:53:58.240 the colonial mascot is
00:53:59.760 very stupid.
00:54:00.800 So let's go through them
00:54:01.440 briefly.
00:54:02.800 Number one, the colonial
00:54:04.480 nickname allegedly promotes
00:54:05.860 and celebrates colonialism,
00:54:07.660 therefore making it
00:54:08.380 offensive.
00:54:09.420 But I thought mascots
00:54:10.800 denigrate and dishonor the
00:54:13.340 thing or person who's been
00:54:14.460 made into the mascot.
00:54:15.840 Isn't that why we're
00:54:16.420 changing all the Native
00:54:17.180 American mascots?
00:54:18.380 Because in that case, we're
00:54:19.580 told that it's racist to
00:54:20.900 reference Indians or Indian
00:54:22.100 culture with a mascot
00:54:23.820 because it degrades them.
00:54:26.060 So wouldn't that mean by the
00:54:27.240 same logic that the
00:54:28.020 colonial mascot actually
00:54:29.160 insults and degrades
00:54:30.600 colonialism, therefore
00:54:32.000 making it a super woke and
00:54:33.940 PC choice for a name?
00:54:36.840 So which is it?
00:54:38.280 Do we celebrate a group of
00:54:39.500 people by turning them into
00:54:40.320 mascots or do we insult
00:54:41.500 them?
00:54:42.820 Now, I would answer the
00:54:43.720 former.
00:54:44.100 Mascots certainly are meant
00:54:44.980 to celebrate, to pay homage
00:54:46.340 to whatever has been chosen
00:54:48.140 as the mascot.
00:54:49.380 The left seems to agree with
00:54:51.020 that interpretation when it
00:54:52.080 comes to names like
00:54:52.780 colonials, but then they
00:54:54.160 take the exact opposite
00:54:55.020 interpretation when it
00:54:55.840 comes to a name like
00:54:56.520 Cleveland Indians, for
00:54:57.620 example, which is why that
00:54:59.180 team was renamed last year.
00:55:02.320 And in that case, the name
00:55:03.260 Indians had been chosen as
00:55:04.600 an homage to a Native
00:55:06.360 American man who played for
00:55:07.780 Cleveland in the late
00:55:08.540 19th century back when they
00:55:10.880 were called the Cleveland
00:55:11.740 Spiders for some reason.
00:55:13.660 But people started calling
00:55:14.460 them the Cleveland Indians
00:55:15.260 because of this player and
00:55:17.060 then eventually they adopted
00:55:18.080 that as a name, which is a
00:55:20.500 great honor to that player.
00:55:22.580 I mean, they named the team
00:55:24.020 after a Native American
00:55:25.300 player.
00:55:26.920 And after over a century
00:55:28.320 with that name, they
00:55:29.220 changed it so as to no
00:55:30.500 longer insult Native
00:55:31.540 Americans by paying tribute
00:55:32.840 to them with a mascot.
00:55:35.140 And that's because the
00:55:36.420 mascot did not pay tribute,
00:55:37.720 we were told.
00:55:38.220 It was an insult.
00:55:40.220 Yet colonials does pay
00:55:43.100 tribute to colonialism.
00:55:44.560 So none of this makes any
00:55:45.560 sense.
00:55:46.700 Number two.
00:55:48.060 Here's a really important
00:55:49.040 detail.
00:55:51.180 The colonials referenced by
00:55:53.320 the colonial moniker did
00:55:55.560 not engage in colonialism.
00:55:57.620 They were colonists who
00:55:58.780 actually abolished colonialism
00:56:00.700 in what is now the United
00:56:02.400 States by forming the
00:56:04.400 United States.
00:56:05.680 Quite famously, they fought a
00:56:06.940 war to end colonialism here
00:56:08.820 and to establish a
00:56:10.060 sovereign nation.
00:56:12.000 The left's interpretation of
00:56:13.160 colonial might make sense if
00:56:15.780 the university's mascot was
00:56:17.040 King George, but it's not.
00:56:19.020 It's George Washington.
00:56:20.700 Hence the name, George
00:56:21.500 Washington University.
00:56:23.840 And George Washington led
00:56:24.900 an army to free the
00:56:26.180 colonies from imperial rule
00:56:27.660 and thus, again, end
00:56:29.040 colonialism.
00:56:30.700 So we see that the argument
00:56:31.880 for getting rid of the
00:56:32.500 mascot makes no sense on
00:56:34.040 two different levels, and
00:56:35.200 we're not even done yet.
00:56:35.960 Number three.
00:56:37.380 There is nothing inherently
00:56:38.780 evil, least of all racist,
00:56:41.220 about colonialism and
00:56:42.520 colonization itself.
00:56:43.540 Even if it happened to be
00:56:44.820 true that colonial was meant
00:56:46.340 to be a sort of vague homage
00:56:47.860 to colonialism in general,
00:56:49.980 it's not true at all, and
00:56:51.060 only an idiot could think it
00:56:51.980 was true.
00:56:52.640 But put that aside, if it
00:56:54.580 was true, I still wouldn't
00:56:55.740 agree with changing the name
00:56:56.620 because I don't agree with
00:56:57.600 the premise that
00:56:58.300 colonialism is some sort of
00:57:00.080 inherent evil.
00:57:00.960 not every form of it has been
00:57:03.800 good, and certainly abuses
00:57:04.800 have occurred within the
00:57:05.780 context of colonization.
00:57:07.240 That's why the Revolutionary
00:57:08.300 War was fought, after all.
00:57:09.480 But historically, colonization
00:57:11.100 was simply one country or
00:57:12.680 kingdom sending explorers and
00:57:15.080 pioneers to establish
00:57:16.080 settlements in other parts of
00:57:17.400 the world.
00:57:18.220 Yes, they were looking to
00:57:19.120 expand their reach and their
00:57:20.200 power, but that's how the
00:57:21.800 world was settled.
00:57:22.920 All people everywhere across
00:57:24.280 the entire world looked to
00:57:25.900 expand and stretch, you
00:57:27.480 know, beyond their own
00:57:28.320 horizons.
00:57:29.440 This often led to conflict
00:57:30.900 and violence, but that's how
00:57:32.560 civilization came to be.
00:57:34.960 It was driven by the
00:57:36.040 fundamental desire to expand
00:57:37.860 into the unknown, to reach
00:57:39.720 beyond apparent limitations.
00:57:42.920 Colonization is a different
00:57:43.880 sort of thing, though, in the
00:57:44.920 modern age, when the world is
00:57:46.100 known and already settled,
00:57:48.820 more or less.
00:57:49.800 But it was different
00:57:50.660 historically.
00:57:51.900 The world was not always this
00:57:53.600 way, which may come as a
00:57:55.660 surprise to the students at
00:57:56.880 George Washington
00:57:57.440 University.
00:57:57.860 History, after all, does not
00:57:59.740 seem to be their forte.
00:58:02.640 And that's why, in the end,
00:58:04.200 they are canceled.
00:58:05.840 At least the 550 who signed
00:58:07.020 that petition are canceled.
00:58:08.540 And we'll leave it there for
00:58:09.200 today.
