The Matt Walsh Show - Nudists In Washington Target Children And Win...[Weekly Walsh Original]

00:00:00.000 For our first cancellation of the new year, we head up to beautiful Lake Washington near the city of Seattle.

00:00:05.100 Now, just to be clear, I use the word beautiful to describe specifically the physical topography of the area.

00:00:10.860 Just don't look over to your side or over your shoulder, because if you do,

00:00:15.020 depending on where you happen to be standing along the shore,

00:00:17.260 you might find yourself staring at a collection of very naked people.

00:00:23.520 Hi, stranger.

00:00:24.580 Now, of course, you stand the risk of getting an eyeful of naked flab if you travel anywhere in the Pacific Northwest,

00:00:29.500 but on Lake Washington, the risk is even greater because it is the site of something called Denny Blaine Park,

00:00:35.720 which is, we are informed, a beloved nudist beach popular with the LGBT community in the area.

00:00:42.160 Round up the usual suspects.

00:00:43.480 In fact, this nudist beach is so popular and so beloved that the LGBT community recently came together,

00:00:50.020 no pun intended, to protest what they perceived as a mortal threat to this hangout spot, no pun intended.

00:00:56.200 And the threat came in the form of a playground.

00:00:59.500 A few months ago, it was announced that Seattle Parks and Rec, with the assistance of a sizable donation from a private donor,

00:01:06.400 planned to build a playground nearby.

00:01:08.960 And this is a problem for the exhibitionist gays over at Denny Blaine, 1.00

00:01:12.140 because although it's legal for them to gallivant around naked almost anywhere in the city or state, 0.78

00:01:17.300 they still aren't allowed to get naked in front of children.

00:01:19.800 So they protested the playground, they organized,

00:01:22.120 they got a petition together, got nearly 10,000 signatures on the petition.

00:01:26.600 They were absolutely incensed that the city considered prioritizing the needs of children

00:01:30.980 over the desires of self-described weirdos.

00:01:34.280 Local news had more on the controversy. Listen.

00:01:36.220 I'm in Denny Blaine Park. Hundreds of people showed up at that meeting tonight

00:01:39.740 because they say this place is a safe space, and putting a playground here would forever change that.

00:01:46.240 As expected,

00:01:47.280 You guys can sign up here, or there are sign-ups in there as well.

00:01:49.940 The proposal to put a playground at Denny Blaine Park

00:01:52.460 brought out a lot of people,

00:01:55.520 all of them with their own story about the park and why they're against the proposal.

00:01:59.740 We can just be ourselves, where we can feel safe, where we can feel heard, where we can see one another.

00:02:06.220 This is a place where people come up and they ask,

00:02:08.820 is it safe here? Am I accepting here?

00:02:11.040 And every time I've smiled and said, yes!

00:02:14.060 Denny Blaine is a noted LGBTQ plus safe space.

00:02:17.300 It's been that way for decades.

00:02:19.060 Under Washington law, it's not illegal to be naked in public.

00:02:22.260 However, it becomes illegal if kids are nearby.

00:02:25.360 That's what this playground would do.

00:02:27.500 Want to preserve our spaces?

00:02:28.560 The people who showed up here believe the private, anonymous donor,

00:02:31.640 who's willing to front $550,000 for a playground,

00:02:35.540 wants to take that space away from them.

00:02:37.580 They say that it's not an intention to displace queer communities,

00:02:41.100 or any specific community.

00:02:42.460 And that may be true on the park side,

00:02:44.400 but I'd love to ask the anonymous donor whether that's true.

00:02:49.920 There's also concern that someone with money to burn

00:02:52.760 can make such a big change to a public park.

00:02:55.280 Instead, we're letting people with a fair amount of money

00:02:57.560 do an anonymous notation clearly choosing how they want to see our parks use.

00:03:03.340 I asked Andy Schaffer with Seattle Parks and Rec about that anonymous donor.

00:03:07.220 His response?

00:03:08.160 Well, I can't really talk about it a whole lot because it's anonymous.

00:03:11.080 But he did talk about how moving the public comments were.

00:03:13.580 God, you heard those stories.

00:03:15.840 You know, if more people could hear these stories,

00:03:18.860 it's much bigger than this part.

00:03:22.020 Yes, the stories, the incredible stories,

00:03:24.260 the inspirational, heartwarming stories 0.98

00:03:26.140 about gay people exposing their genitals to strangers. 0.75

00:03:28.680 And if only more people could hear how important it is to gay people 0.99

00:03:31.760 that they'd be allowed to expose their genitals to strangers. 0.98

00:03:35.960 Indeed, LGBT people who aren't able to take their pants off 1.00

00:03:38.940 anywhere and everywhere they want all the time without restriction

00:03:41.600 are truly the most downtrodden among us.

00:03:45.660 Forget starving people in Africa. 1.00

00:03:47.280 Forget children dying of cancer.

00:03:49.240 Forget everyone.

00:03:50.400 And focus instead on LGBT people always. 0.99

00:03:53.180 Give them everything they want always, all the time, no matter what it is. 0.98

00:03:57.000 Because if you don't, then you are killing them. 0.99

00:03:59.260 You are literally killing them. 1.00

00:04:01.100 That's the message. 1.00

00:04:02.080 You heard it from the gay activists themselves.

00:04:04.560 They said they want to be themselves, feel safe, be heard.

00:04:07.180 Now, you might point out that gay people can be themselves

00:04:10.300 and feel safe and be heard everywhere in the country.

00:04:13.460 But I think a more pressing question is

00:04:15.440 why being yourself and feeling safe and being heard

00:04:19.500 must always involve getting naked. 0.98

00:04:21.840 I think we should get naked. 0.94

00:04:24.220 What?

00:04:24.820 It doesn't work that way for any other group of people.

00:04:26.780 Have you noticed that?

00:04:28.100 Okay, if you take any other group and you say,

00:04:30.100 well, here's a safe space for you.

00:04:31.380 They're not going to immediately strip off their clothes.

00:04:33.940 That's only how it works with LGBT safe spaces.

00:04:37.180 Let me ask you something.

00:04:37.980 What if there was someone out there who kept a log

00:04:39.620 of every single thing you did every minute of the day?

00:04:42.000 I think that'd be pretty creepy.

00:04:43.040 Well, what if I told you exactly what happens every time you go online?

00:04:46.040 Your internet service provider is allowed to store logs

00:04:48.260 of every website you've ever visited

00:04:49.860 and can legally sell this data to anyone.

00:04:52.220 That's why I always use ExpressVPN.

00:04:54.900 ExpressVPN reroutes your internet connection

00:04:56.540 through their secure servers

00:04:57.760 so your internet provider can't see or log what you do online.

00:05:01.260 Many of you might be wondering,

00:05:02.240 well, if I'm routing all my data through a VPN,

00:05:04.060 then doesn't that mean that the VPN can see what I'm doing

00:05:06.560 and log my data instead?

00:05:08.080 And you're right to think that many VPNs claim

00:05:09.780 to have a no-logs policy

00:05:10.800 but have been caught logging customer activity anyway.

00:05:13.320 ExpressVPN is the only VPN I trust

00:05:14.820 because they use a trusted server technology.

00:05:17.680 This makes it impossible for their VPN servers

00:05:19.540 to store any data, including logs,

00:05:21.720 of any ExpressVPN customer.

00:05:23.360 You don't have to take my or ExpressVPN's word for it.

00:05:25.540 ExpressVPN is so confident in their no-logs claim.

00:05:28.260 They even had one of the biggest assurance firms,

00:05:30.340 is PWC audit their technology.

00:05:32.500 So stop letting people keep logs of what you do online.

00:05:34.800 Visit expressvpn.com slash WalshYT

00:05:37.020 and get three extra months free.

00:05:38.120 That's exprssvpn.com slash WalshYT,

00:05:40.900 expressvpn.com slash WalshYT to learn more.

00:05:44.160 But we haven't gotten to the best part

00:05:45.500 of that local Seattle news report.

00:05:47.360 I want you to listen to what this reporter mentions

00:05:49.580 very briefly at the end.

00:05:51.800 Listen.

00:05:51.940 No one at the meeting spoke for the playground at this park.

00:05:55.720 I have put in a public information request

00:05:57.400 for the name of the anonymous donor

00:05:58.720 and something else to note.

00:06:00.500 Many people brought up a drowning risk.

00:06:02.460 They say there's no lifeguards at this beach

00:06:04.280 and if you put a playground here,

00:06:06.000 kids will be here upping the chance they could drown.

00:06:08.180 As a brief aside, as a minor additional detail,

00:06:11.780 we're told that if they build the playground

00:06:13.400 at this location, children might drown.

00:06:15.760 Now, the drowning risk thing is probably mostly contrived.

00:06:20.160 Playgrounds are built next to lakes all the time.

00:06:22.200 I take my kids to playgrounds near lakes all the time.

00:06:24.060 It's like, it's not an issue.

00:06:25.240 Because, you know, most people are not dropping

00:06:26.880 their five-year-old off at the playground

00:06:29.160 and then coming back to pick them up before sundown.

00:06:31.860 Generally, the children are watched by adults

00:06:33.720 and adults can keep them from wandering down

00:06:35.820 to the water unsupervised.

00:06:37.420 But be that as it may,

00:06:38.460 if you're actually worried

00:06:39.840 that the playground presents a significant

00:06:42.300 drowning risk to children,

00:06:44.340 how is that not your top concern?

00:06:46.720 How is that not the headline?

00:06:48.620 I mean, these people claim that a playground

00:06:50.000 at that location may well lead to children dying,

00:06:53.220 and yet that is somehow not their key objection.

00:06:56.680 Their key objection is that the children will interfere

00:06:58.880 with their ability to be naked in public. 0.98

00:07:00.520 You've got to be f***ing kidding. 0.95

00:07:03.020 So their list of priorities has 0.98

00:07:04.400 getting naked in public at the top

00:07:06.960 and preventing children from drowning

00:07:09.560 somewhere down below that. 0.98

00:07:12.200 These people are so unbelievably selfish 0.98

00:07:14.160 that they can't even pretend 0.99

00:07:15.700 to care about anything more

00:07:17.620 than satisfying their own sexual desires.

00:07:19.900 I mean, it's the only thing they care about

00:07:21.900 in this world, period.

00:07:23.560 And yet, prepare yourself

00:07:24.940 for the not-so-twist ending here,

00:07:26.740 the LGBT protesters prevailed.

00:07:28.700 No.

00:07:33.160 Seattle ultimately decided to reject

00:07:35.260 the $500,000 donation

00:07:37.360 and scrap the plans for the playground

00:07:39.300 at that location.

00:07:40.420 On one hand, you had families

00:07:41.740 who wanted a place to take their children

00:07:43.160 to the park,

00:07:43.960 and on the other, 0.99

00:07:44.840 you had selfish degenerates. 0.99

00:07:47.360 And by the way, 0.99

00:07:47.820 when I call them degenerates,

00:07:49.020 I'm only respecting their own preferred adjective.

00:07:51.900 An op-ed in the local Seattle publication,

00:07:53.920 The Stranger,

00:07:54.500 addressing this controversy

00:07:55.400 a few weeks ago,

00:07:56.480 had this headline.

00:07:57.420 Quote,

00:07:57.880 Keep Denny Blaine degenerate.

00:08:00.060 I've gone to this park for years,

00:08:01.240 and as a child of a queer person 0.88

00:08:02.620 who has lived in Seattle

00:08:03.380 since the 80s,

00:08:04.280 I know how critical it is

00:08:05.260 for us to maintain spaces

00:08:06.460 where queer people

00:08:07.240 don't need to worry about optics 0.99

00:08:08.720 every damn second. 0.97

00:08:09.900 In a world that's constantly 0.99

00:08:10.740 repressing our identities,

00:08:12.020 is it not possible

00:08:12.740 for queer people

00:08:13.340 to have one space?

00:08:14.900 Really hoping the parks department

00:08:16.160 chooses another site

00:08:17.100 because I don't know

00:08:18.120 where else I can go

00:08:18.940 and feel comfortable

00:08:19.620 in my body 1.00

00:08:20.260 in this damn city. 1.00

00:08:22.160 Yes, 1.00

00:08:22.520 where else in Seattle 0.97

00:08:24.720 can a gay person go? 1.00

00:08:26.680 There's nowhere else for them. 0.98

00:08:28.220 In Seattle.

00:08:29.520 Life could be a dream.

00:08:31.200 Life could be a dream.

00:08:33.520 Do, do, do, do,

00:08:35.520 some boo.

00:08:36.460 It's a funny thing.

00:08:37.340 You know,

00:08:37.540 most of us walk around

00:08:38.400 in public every day

00:08:39.300 feeling comfortable

00:08:40.040 in our bodies

00:08:40.620 the whole time,

00:08:41.300 and yet we never feel

00:08:42.600 the need to strip our clothes off

00:08:43.880 and expose ourselves

00:08:44.680 to strangers.

00:08:45.200 But for this self-described 0.93

00:08:47.140 degenerate 0.72

00:08:47.840 and his friends, 0.92

00:08:48.840 the only way

00:08:49.620 that he can feel

00:08:50.320 comfortable in his body

00:08:51.100 is if his body

00:08:51.780 is on full display

00:08:52.920 for the world to see.

00:08:54.400 Their sexual desires

00:08:55.340 come before everything

00:08:56.500 and everyone

00:08:57.120 all the time.

00:08:58.620 And that's how 0.98

00:08:59.080 the gay nudists 0.98

00:09:00.000 at Denny Blaine Park 0.98

00:09:01.560 got their way,

00:09:03.060 and it's also why

00:09:03.780 they are today

00:09:04.720 canceled.

00:09:05.720 The bluest skies

00:09:07.640 you've ever seen

00:09:08.940 are in Seattle

00:09:10.420 and the hills

00:09:13.340 the greenest dream

00:09:14.860 in Seattle

00:09:16.340 the hills

00:09:17.940 have never been

00:09:21.100 been

00:09:21.780 never built

00:09:22.540 in Seattle

00:09:23.540 as he was

00:09:24.500 in Seattle

00:09:25.420 and it's in Seattle

00:09:25.880 it's an dispersion

00:09:26.560 he's got a boy

00:09:27.200 on that one

00:09:27.580 body

00:09:28.400 comes before

00:09:28.860 maybe

00:09:29.260 ending

00:09:30.160 finally

00:09:31.180 there's

00:09:32.020 a woman 0.57

00:09:33.360 girl 0.91

00:09:33.960 and she

00:09:34.460 feels

00:09:35.340 like

00:09:35.500 there's

00:09:36.220 I didn't

00:09:37.820 know

00:09:38.560 that one

00:09:38.840 of the

00:09:39.300 years

00:09:40.620 man

00:09:41.260 has

00:09:42.300 it the

00:09:43.460 other

00:09:44.520 I

00:09:45.280 would
