Summary

Mayor Michelle Wu of the city of Boston made a joke about Black History Month at a St. Patrick's Day event that offended a lot of people, and now the left is trying to make excuses for her. Is this a good or bad thing?

00:00:00.000 A year ago, I began filming my new movie, Am I Racist?
00:00:02.800 The goal of the movie was to go deep undercover into the world of DEI
00:00:05.920 and show how bad the problem really is.
00:00:08.420 There'll be some moments in the movie that just seem too crazy to be real,
00:00:11.160 but I assure you it is all real and it has been a real problem for a while.
00:00:15.440 To prove to you how big of an issue DEI is,
00:00:17.700 I wanted to take you on a trip down memory lane
00:00:20.340 of some recent real-world examples of anti-white racism.
00:00:24.080 But before we do that, check out the trailer for Am I Racist?
00:00:27.680 Visit amiracist.com to check out showings and buy tickets at a theater near you.
00:00:32.000 Now enjoy the trailer.
00:00:33.320 Republicans are Nazis.
00:00:34.640 You cannot separate yourselves from the bad white people.
00:00:38.260 Growing up, I never thought much about race.
00:00:40.160 It never really seemed to matter that much, at least not to me.
00:00:42.840 Am I racist?
00:00:44.020 I would really appreciate it if you left.
00:00:45.300 I'm trying to learn. I'm on this journey.
00:00:47.280 I'm going to sort this out. I need to go deeper undercover.
00:00:51.560 They don't say I'm racist.
00:00:53.060 Joining us now is Matt, certified DEI expert.
00:00:56.340 Here's my certification.
00:00:57.660 What you're doing is you're stretching out of your whiteness.
00:01:00.380 This is more for you than this for you.
00:01:01.360 Is America inherently racist?
00:01:02.940 The word inherent is challenging there.
00:01:04.880 I'm going to rename the George Washington Monument to the George Floyd Monument.
00:01:08.040 America is racist to its bones.
00:01:09.900 So inherently.
00:01:10.760 Yeah, this country is a piece of...
00:01:12.260 White.
00:01:14.440 Folks.
00:01:14.940 White.
00:01:15.080 Trash.
00:01:15.420 White supremacy.
00:01:16.200 White woman.
00:01:16.780 White boy.
00:01:17.300 Is there a black person around here?
00:01:18.600 What's a black person right here?
00:01:19.920 Does he not exist?
00:01:22.700 Hi, Robin.
00:01:23.260 Hi.
00:01:23.620 What's your name?
00:01:24.580 I'm Matt.
00:01:24.980 I just had to ask who you are because you have to be careful.
00:01:27.660 Never be too careful.
00:01:28.600 They're going to say you're racist.
00:01:29.620 In theaters now.
00:01:30.740 Rated PG-13.
00:01:32.260 All right.
00:01:32.640 I also can't think of an excuse for this as we move up to Boston where Mayor Michelle Wu,
00:01:38.240 she, I remember her, she was last seen sort of awkwardly sitting there silently while she
00:01:42.680 got insulted relentlessly on Instagram Live, which was a great, a great, a great video.
00:01:48.580 This one, not as good.
00:01:50.380 She gave a speech at the annual Boston St. Patrick's Day breakfast where she said this.
00:01:56.860 Listen.
00:01:57.020 Over 100 days, we have connected unhoused residents at Mass and Cass to housing, treatment
00:02:03.160 and services.
00:02:04.240 We've launched three free bus lines.
00:02:06.880 We've taken some big, bold actions, but I won't lie.
00:02:10.380 This past winter was pretty intense.
00:02:12.980 Trial by snow.
00:02:14.460 Trial by fire.
00:02:15.620 Fighters union.
00:02:17.360 I'm getting used to dealing with problems that are expensive, disruptive and white.
00:02:21.600 I'm talking about snowflakes.
00:02:23.120 Snowflakes.
00:02:23.660 I mean snowstorm snowflakes.
00:02:25.200 Oh, hilarious.
00:02:26.860 She's dealing with problems that are expensive, disruptive and white, which is a joke she decided
00:02:32.680 to tell, by the way, at a St. Patrick's Day event.
00:02:36.480 And the excuse that's being given on her behalf is that apparently at this event, the tradition
00:02:43.380 is that the mayor gets up there and gives a funny speech and tells a bunch of jokes.
00:02:47.780 Okay, fine.
00:02:49.420 So she's telling a joke.
00:02:51.240 Now, now all of a sudden people on the left are saying, hey, calm down.
00:02:54.900 It's just a joke.
00:02:56.400 Now, when an actual stand-up comedian at a stand-up special tells jokes, that's Armageddon.
00:03:07.700 That's the apocalypse.
00:03:09.480 That's a human rights abuse.
00:03:10.800 We got to have marches in the street and boycotts.
00:03:13.600 You know, Dave Chappelle's an actual stand-up comedian.
00:03:16.000 It's his job to tell jokes.
00:03:17.540 And he does a stand-up special where he tells jokes and that's a problem.
00:03:23.320 You can't do that.
00:03:24.680 Yeah, we're going to make excuses for a politician on St. Patrick's Day who decides to make a joke
00:03:30.500 that all of her problems are expensive, disruptive and white.
00:03:33.720 Now, I don't need to point this out, but I will because that's pretty much the entire show
00:03:37.480 is me pointing out things I shouldn't need to point out.
00:03:39.700 Now, if this was a mayor of a city who was commemorating Black History Month by making
00:03:49.440 a hilarious joke about how most of his problems are expensive, disruptive and black, you know,
00:03:56.200 I don't think the people that are having such good humor about it would feel that way.
00:04:02.340 But there would be riots in the streets.
00:04:04.100 It would be considered a historic catastrophe.
00:04:09.100 They would build, I mean, they would literally commemorate the day that it happened.
00:04:14.480 If that happened today, March 22nd, that a mayor got up there and said,
00:04:18.560 you know, all my problems are disruptive, expensive, disruptive and black.
00:04:26.140 I'm not talking about black people.
00:04:27.480 I'm talking about the pavement.
00:04:28.940 There's a lot of potholes.
00:04:30.180 Don't you get it?
00:04:30.960 But if that were to happen, and it, March 22nd, March 22nd would be a day.
00:04:36.280 They would have, we would have anniversaries of it.
00:04:38.920 Next March 22nd, they would talk about where they were when they heard that joke and what
00:04:43.300 terrible damage it did to them, the trauma that they've suffered.
00:04:46.120 I mean, we would never hear the end of it.
00:04:48.460 They would build monuments to commemorate the tragedy where people could go and weep over
00:04:53.600 the joke that was told.
00:04:54.560 And yet, what we are supposed to get accustomed to, and many of us are accustomed to, is just
00:05:01.880 that, you know, it's different.
00:05:05.480 Mayor Wu is a non-white person and she's making jokes about white people.
00:05:10.180 And so it's just different.
00:05:11.200 She's allowed to do that.
00:05:14.420 That's what we're supposed to accept that.
00:05:16.060 I don't.
00:05:16.740 I think we should not accept it.
00:05:18.300 Now, as I've said before, we don't want to call this a double standard, really, because
00:05:24.140 it's actually, it's actually not.
00:05:26.840 There is, there is in fact one standard.
00:05:30.260 The standard is from, from the left, like we can do things that you can't do.
00:05:37.060 Non-white people can do things that white, that white people cannot do.
00:05:40.800 That's, that's the standard, but it's a twisted, perverse standard, and we should never tire
00:05:50.260 of criticizing of it.
00:05:53.440 And yes, we should react with anger to stuff like this.
00:05:58.820 We should be outraged about it.
00:05:59.780 Yeah.
00:06:01.680 Because the only other option is just to move on from it and say, okay, fine, you can do
00:06:05.860 that.
00:06:06.120 Like, I know you're doing something that a white person could never get away with, but
00:06:11.720 all right, you can just do it.
00:06:13.860 Why should we go along with that?
00:06:17.340 That's what works.
00:06:17.980 It's like, as, as, as white people, you're just supposed to sort of accept that.
00:06:20.780 Okay, well, you can come and spit in my face.
00:06:22.740 All right.
00:06:24.020 I don't like it, but all right.
00:06:27.280 Why should we accept that?
00:06:30.080 No, I'm not going to have you spit in my face, especially, it's like St. Patrick's
00:06:33.240 Day to make it all the worse.
00:06:36.120 So this is your way, rather than talking about how you appreciate Irish culture, you're going
00:06:41.000 to tell us that your, your problems are all white.
00:06:44.340 You disgusting, drooling, ugly bigot, you racist scumbag.
00:06:52.000 That's the, should be the response to this person.
00:06:56.860 It is because that's exactly what it would be in the reverse, but a lot, a lot more harsh
00:07:01.580 than we all know.
00:07:01.940 I mean, they would, they would, they would, I mean, the person would be, the mayor would
00:07:04.400 be, would be kicked out of office, probably arrested for a hate crime.
00:07:08.400 And I'm not exaggerating.
00:07:09.640 But you can't even, you can't conceive, you can't even conceive of actually fully of what
00:07:17.100 the reaction would be because it, because, because it is literally inconceivable that
00:07:21.120 a politician would ever make a joke like that about any race of people other than white.
00:07:26.540 And is that a reality that we want to accept?
00:07:29.800 That there is one race of people that the most powerful people in our society, politicians
00:07:34.700 who are running cities and running the country are allowed to joke about and insult.
00:07:38.760 Do we really want to accept that?
00:07:39.820 Because that doesn't go anywhere good.
00:07:41.580 When there's one group of people that we determined by race who you're allowed to disrespect,
00:07:46.200 but nobody else.
00:07:47.000 Now you want to open up the floodgates and say that, yeah, jokes are jokes.
00:07:52.080 You can make jokes about any race you want.
00:07:54.320 And, uh, Hey, you know, that's fine.
00:07:56.860 If that's the rule, I'm totally on board for that, but I'm not on board for the rule that
00:08:03.080 you're, that you're allowed to, to, to do this to white people, but nobody else not on
00:08:06.820 board for that.
00:08:07.340 You know, using the internet without express VPN, it's like passing a note in class and
00:08:11.420 having the teacher read it aloud to everyone.
00:08:13.260 Nobody else has to know about your secret crush on Stacy's mom.
00:08:16.560 Am I right?
00:08:17.580 Did you know that your internet service provider can see every single website you visit?
00:08:21.280 That's right.
00:08:21.800 Every single one.
00:08:22.780 And here's the kicker.
00:08:23.620 They can legally sell this information to ad companies and tech giants without your consent.
00:08:28.360 Now, I don't know about you, but, uh, I'm not too keen on big tech knowing my every
00:08:32.780 online move.
00:08:33.780 That's why I use express VPN.
00:08:35.660 When you use express VPN, your ISP can't see what you're doing online.
00:08:38.780 Your identity is hidden behind a secure VPN server and all your data is encrypted.
00:08:42.960 It's like putting a blindfold on big tech's prying eyes.
00:08:46.260 Don't worry.
00:08:46.780 You don't need to be a computer whiz to use it.
00:08:49.160 Even I can do it.
00:08:50.360 You just open the app, click one button.
00:08:52.300 It's really that simple.
00:08:53.600 Plus it works on all your devices, phones, laptops, even your router.
00:08:56.240 So everyone in your household can browse more anonymously.
00:08:59.160 Look, in today's world, a VPN isn't just nice to have.
00:09:01.980 It's absolutely essential.
00:09:03.440 Don't let your data be harvested and sold to the highest bidder.

00:09:21.220 Okay, moving now to one clip here.
00:09:24.380 We've got members of the Republican establishment after this speech yesterday from Biden in Georgia,
00:09:32.340 where he said that everyone who disagrees with him is a confederate and a racist.
00:09:37.400 They're all, you know, and Biden said that after claiming when he got into office that
00:09:41.640 he wanted to unite everybody.
00:09:43.220 So Republican establishment, they're very upset about this.
00:09:47.900 They feel backstabbed because they've been pretty supportive of Biden.
00:09:51.960 They haven't been too critical of him.
00:09:53.340 Um, some of them supported him over Trump.
00:09:59.360 And so they thought that they, that they would always be the exception.
00:10:03.380 And they thought at the very least, when Biden delivers a speech like this, he would say that
00:10:07.140 my opponents are all racist, uh, except for, except for these guys over here, they're fine.
00:10:15.060 And the Republican establishment is shocked and appalled to find out that didn't happen.
00:10:17.920 They're getting lumped in with everybody else.
00:10:20.900 So here's Mitt Romney, uh, expressing his, uh, his, his shock and, and horror.
00:10:26.360 I had the occasion to watch President Biden as he spoke in Georgia, uh, just a few minutes ago.
00:10:33.040 And he said quite a number of things that simply weren't true.
00:10:38.960 He also accused a number of my good and principled colleagues in the Senate of having sinister,
00:10:44.120 even racist inclinations.
00:10:47.920 He charged that voting against his bill allies us with Bull Connor, George Wallace, and Jefferson
00:10:55.840 Davis.
00:10:57.260 So much for unifying the country and working across the aisle.
00:11:03.460 More troubling, however, he said that the goal of some Republicans is to, quote, turn the
00:11:10.740 will of the voters into a mere suggestion.
00:11:13.920 And so President Biden goes down the same tragic road taken by President Trump,
00:11:21.260 casting doubt on the reliability of American elections.
00:11:25.740 This is a sad, sad day.
00:11:31.100 I expected more of President Biden.
00:11:36.080 You did?
00:11:36.820 Well, what does that tell you?
00:11:37.860 What does that tell you about?
00:11:38.740 What does that tell us about you?
00:11:39.960 Rather, I should say that you expected more.
00:11:42.420 Why did you expect more of President Biden?
00:11:43.780 What has he ever shown you in his he's been in the public eye for 97 years?
00:11:50.200 What is in in in those the nearly century that he's been on the stage?
00:11:56.680 What has he ever shown you ever that would make you expect more?
00:12:00.840 But Mitt Romney, totally scandalized by this, can't believe it.
00:12:07.100 Well, also Mitch McConnell also was was very, very upset, nearly in tears.
00:12:12.940 That that he had been accused of racism in this way by a man who he he was.
00:12:18.080 He's just disappointed.
00:12:19.120 He expected more.
00:12:20.480 So listen yesterday.
00:12:21.980 Yesterday, that very same man delivered a deliberately divisive speech
00:12:29.280 that was designed to pull our country further apart.
00:12:35.420 Twelve months ago, this president said we should see each other,
00:12:38.620 not as adversaries, but as neighbors.
00:12:42.060 Yesterday, he called millions of Americans his domestic enemies.
00:12:49.880 Who would have thought?
00:12:53.420 He said he wanted to bring us all together.
00:12:55.640 Turns out he didn't want to do that.
00:12:58.100 These these people will never learn.
00:13:01.140 You know, as I've tried to explain many times,
00:13:03.980 nobody wants unity, actually.
00:13:09.600 Least of all, Joe Biden.
00:13:14.180 Because unity for unity's sake can't exist.
00:13:17.320 Got to unite around something.
00:13:18.740 There have to be sort of like terms upon which we are within which we are we are uniting.
00:13:27.300 And so the terms of unity for Joe Biden are that you do exactly as he says.
00:13:34.560 And you submit.
00:13:37.540 And then and then we can all have unity there.
00:13:39.580 We can have unity in in chains.
00:13:42.220 We can have unity in in submission.
00:13:45.180 In obedience to him.
00:13:46.640 That's what he means by unity.
00:13:48.740 Just to clarify for you.
