00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the federal government has run out of money to help the
00:00:03.320 victims of Hurricane Helene, but they do have enough money to dole out to illegal immigrants.
00:00:07.400 We'll take a look at that. Also, a 70-year-old Trump supporter is sent to prison for nine years
00:00:12.060 for, she says, trying to verify the integrity of the 2020 election.
00:00:15.880 Politico warns that J.D. Vance may seem scary to female voters because he has a beard,
00:00:21.360 and you'll never believe it, but the internet is very mad at me. Again,
00:00:24.940 I'll respond to the latest outrage and hopefully clear it up today.
00:00:28.280 That and much more today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:01:13.140 right now. Folks, Harris's so-called economic plan is nothing short of a disaster. Brace yourselves
00:01:19.120 for massive tax hikes. We're talking an almost 40% top income tax rate, a 7% increase to the corporate
00:01:24.240 tax, and a ridiculous capital gains tax on unrealized gains. All this just so that she can
00:01:29.520 add nearly $2 trillion to our already bloated $2 trillion deficit. If you're like me, you're
00:01:34.820 probably thinking it's time to make more of your savings tax-sheltered and inflation-sheltered
00:01:40.200 as well. This is where I turn to the good people at Birch Gold Group. They've been helping me and

00:02:13.420 economic madness catch up with you and catch you off guard. Text Walsh to 989898 for your free info
00:02:18.940 kit today. That's Walsh to 989898. One of the excuses you always hear when there is a massive
00:02:24.900 failure by the Biden-Harris administration is that no one could have possibly seen it coming. No one
00:02:29.420 could have predicted that the Inflation Reduction Act would actually increase inflation. No one could
00:02:33.140 have predicted that the Afghan government would collapse immediately after we pulled out our
00:02:37.620 troops leading to a security breakdown and the deaths of 13 U.S. military personnel. No one
00:02:42.500 could have predicted that shipping pallets of cash to Iran would provide funding for a new campaign
00:02:48.920 of terrorist attacks by Iran's proxies and so on. The truth, though, of course, is that all of these
00:02:53.720 disasters were easily foreseeable. The problem is that the people in charge of predicting the
00:02:58.360 consequences of all these policies are either grossly incompetent or malicious. At every step,
00:03:03.820 they have lied to Americans about what they know or should know was about to happen. And there's
00:03:09.720 maybe no better illustration of this problem than the federal government's response to Hurricane Helene,
00:03:14.480 which has now killed more than 200 people. And 200 people may be a gross underestimate when all is
00:03:22.440 said and done. We still do not even know the full scale of this disaster, except that it's massive.
00:03:27.380 So take a look at what the DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was saying just three months ago. Mayorkas,
00:03:33.660 as head of the DHS, oversees the Federal Disaster Relief Agency, FEMA. Well, on June 21st,
00:03:39.940 Mayorkas went in front of the cameras to boast that FEMA was, quote, tremendously prepared for the
00:03:45.280 upcoming hurricane season. In fact, he doesn't just say that FEMA is tremendously prepared for hurricanes.
00:03:49.760 He says that they're prepared for wildfires, extreme heat, a variety of other disasters. He can handle all of it,
00:03:56.040 he says, watch. FEMA is tremendously prepared. This is what we do. This is what they do. And the key
00:04:05.640 here, Rebecca, is also to make sure that the communities who are potentially impacted are
00:04:11.500 prepared as well. And it's not just hurricanes and wildfires, also extreme heat, which certainly
00:04:20.460 some parts of the United States are already experiencing.
00:04:25.380 This is what we do, says Mayorkas, as he smiles. It's all very reassuring.
00:04:30.380 Now, admittedly, the words tremendously prepared can be interpreted in a few different ways.
00:04:36.100 And unfortunately, Mayorkas wasn't more specific. But ordinarily, when the official overseeing a disaster
00:04:41.000 relief agency says that they are tremendously prepared, they're saying that at a minimum,
00:04:45.380 they have all the resources they need to quickly and effectively respond to whatever natural
00:04:50.320 disasters may occur. So it was more than a little confusing to hear the DHS secretary on Wednesday
00:04:56.720 announcing that actually, FEMA is out of money. They don't even have the cash to make it through
00:05:03.840 hurricane season. Watch.
00:05:06.840 Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas sounding the alarm on FEMA funding right after the devastation of Hurricane
00:05:13.160 Haleen. Listen. We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting
00:05:21.500 another hurricane hitting. We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the
00:05:28.300 season. This all comes as the Biden-Harris administration spent over a billion dollars from
00:05:33.920 a FEMA program on services for migrants. Now, it's easy to become desensitized to all the lying that
00:05:42.880 we've heard from this administration. It's easy to roll your eyes when you see even more evidence
00:05:46.820 that these people, at a minimum, at a minimum, and at best, are grossly incompetent. But this is truly
00:05:54.180 another level. Imagine this kind of thing happening in literally any business in the country. Imagine
00:06:01.320 the cook at IHOP telling his boss that he's tremendously prepared for the breakfast rush,
00:06:06.740 and then the customers show up, and it actually turns out there's no flour, there's no eggs,
00:06:10.220 there's no bacon in the kitchen. They need an emergency shipment because they're all out of
00:06:14.220 ingredients. How long do you think that cook would have a job exactly? Five seconds? Less?
00:06:21.700 As you just heard at the tail end of that Fox News report, this is starting to look like something
00:06:25.320 much worse than incompetence. It looks a bit like embezzlement, actually. First of all,
00:06:30.860 didn't the government's fiscal year just start on October 1st? How are they out of money already?
00:06:35.940 And why exactly was FEMA administering billion-dollar services, quote-unquote,
00:06:41.640 to foreign nationals, including illegal aliens, living inside this country?
00:06:46.640 As the New York Post reports, quote,
00:06:48.220 the Department of Homeland Security allocated $640 million this year in FEMA-administered funds
00:06:54.040 to aid state and local governments coping with the influx of asylum seekers.
00:06:58.600 And DHS allocated $780 million for the migrant crisis last year through the FEMA Emergency
00:07:04.240 Food and Shelter Program, which funds relief not associated with natural disasters,
00:07:08.620 and the FEMA Shelter and Services Program, which was authorized in late 2022 by Congress to respond
00:07:14.120 to the migrant crisis. Now, that money, according to the DHS website, goes to families and individuals
00:07:20.700 encountered by the Department of Homeland Security. There doesn't need to be an emergency or a natural
00:07:26.100 disaster or anything like that. These people just need to come into this country illegally,
00:07:30.700 and they're eligible. And so they're getting paid while our own citizens are stranded in their homes
00:07:37.060 and drowning. In response to this reporting, the DHS claimed that Congress didn't authorize
00:07:43.760 that $1.4 billion to go to American citizens. It was supposedly earmarked for the migrant crisis,
00:07:49.300 meaning it was never intended for Americans, which is supposed to be reassuring. It's supposed to be a
00:07:56.920 defense when they say, oh, no, yeah, we were never going to spend that money on Americans.
00:08:02.880 Yeah, we believe you. That's the problem, you scumbags.
00:08:09.020 But in any event, that still doesn't explain why the DHS secretary said FEMA was well prepared
00:08:13.580 just three months ago. And more importantly, it doesn't explain why we're spending so much money
00:08:18.520 on providing food and shelter to illegal migrants when we don't even have enough money to fund
00:08:23.160 disaster relief for American citizens. When we are in a country now where there could be American
00:08:29.000 citizens in an American town in this country who are stranded in their homes for days on end. I mean,
00:08:35.180 that should not happen at all in this country. It is a disgrace that that could happen at all.
00:08:44.200 With all the resources that we have, that there could be people stranded for days on end.
00:08:48.280 How are we not in a position where we can get them out within hours with all the money that's being
00:08:54.180 spent? That's not even getting into the hundreds of billions of dollars we've spent to, you know,
00:09:00.420 we've sent to Ukraine, which comes out to more than $5,000 per Ukrainian. And keep that in mind,
00:09:09.380 $5,000 per Ukrainian, because by comparison, American citizens are not getting nearly as much.
00:09:15.920 As the Post reports quote, a relatively paltry $4 million has been paid directly to families and
00:09:20.840 individuals in the week since Hurricane Helene ravaged the Southeast, killing at least 202 people,
00:09:25.840 causing severe flood damage from Florida and North Carolina. For her part, acting president Kamala
00:09:30.980 Harris has announced that affected families in this country are eligible for a grand total
00:09:34.980 of $750 in FEMA assistance. Watch.
00:09:40.020 And the federal relief and assistance that we have been providing has included FEMA providing
00:09:47.740 $750 for folks who need immediate needs being met, such as food, baby formula and the like. And you can
00:09:56.440 apply now for anyone who's watching this who has been affected. There are FEMA personnel who are going
00:10:02.380 door to door to interact personally with folks, especially those who do not have electricity,
00:10:07.860 but also that that aid, if you have electricity can be applied for online. And I encourage people to
00:10:15.100 do that. FEMA will just basically verify your address and then process should take hold.
00:10:22.080 Wow. $750. You know, your home is destroyed. You've lost literally everything. You've lost everything
00:10:29.200 that you've ever owned is gone. And you're going to get $750. Which, by the way, is more than five times less
00:10:38.580 than we have spent on Ukraine per Ukrainian.
00:10:47.420 So $750. That's what FEMA can give American citizens who just lost their homes. And to be clear,
00:10:51.700 that's not because this hurricane season was unusually catastrophic. And it's not because FEMA has been doing
00:10:56.300 heroic work that turned out to be far more expensive than they could have possibly anticipated. In
00:11:00.360 reality, FEMA has reported that it's been running out of money for a long time now. A year ago,
00:11:05.400 in the middle of hurricane season, FEMA disclosed that it was experiencing a massive budget shortfall
00:11:09.460 of several billion dollars. This is a report from July of 2023. Watch.
00:11:15.320 Hurricane season is underway, but word comes tonight that the FEMA funds many storm victims count on
00:11:21.140 may soon run out. Westview News reporter Greg Fox explains what lawmakers and state emergency
00:11:26.000 managers are doing to make sure that we are prepared.
00:11:32.240 We're all in survival mode.
00:11:34.240 So far, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has spent more than $9 billion in the wake of
00:11:39.780 Hurricane Ian. But FEMA relief has been spread across the country to areas hit by wildfires, floods,
00:11:46.400 mudslides, and more. And the money is running out. According to the May Disaster Relief Fund monthly
00:11:52.600 report, funds are projected to run out next month. The immediate disaster funding shortfall is projected
00:11:58.880 to be $2.7 billion near the end of August and $10 billion near the end of September.
00:12:06.100 Now, as you just heard from that report, FEMA's excuse last year was that there was a lot of unexpected
00:12:10.260 disasters, fires, mudslides, and so on. So you'd think that after running out of money,
00:12:15.420 they'd make sure to cover the budget shortfall in time for the next hurricane season. After all,
00:12:19.020 the federal government can print money out of thin air for whatever reason it wants.
00:12:23.260 They don't care about inflation, as we've learned. They'll just print it if they care enough.
00:12:30.260 So why did that happen here? Was there some issue with the money printer? Did Congress reject the
00:12:35.260 budget for some reason? If so, at the very least, you'd expect the DHS secretary would complain about
00:12:40.060 that. You wouldn't think he'd go on television to brag about how tremendously prepared they are.
00:12:44.360 That's especially true after FEMA's failed handling of the Maui fires last year. As you
00:12:50.140 might remember, residents said that FEMA's assistance was both scattershot and insufficient
00:12:53.740 after the blaze. They were also outraged that FEMA officials were hanging out in luxury hotels
00:12:59.740 instead of helping. Watch.
00:13:02.340 FEMA booked themselves in the five-star luxury Hawaiian resorts.
00:13:07.560 These photos making national news headlines, calling attention to FEMA workers on Maui in what appears to
00:13:14.700 show them relaxing in five-star hotels. At the cocktail bar and at a registration desk at the
00:13:20.400 Grand Wailea, another photo shows FEMA workers on their laptops at the Fairmont Keolani. It's
00:13:26.340 rubbing devastated Lahaina residents the wrong way, as they deal with the deaths of more than 100 people
00:13:32.120 and a historic community wiped out.
00:13:35.120 I mean, I feel sick. Dustin Kaleopu lost his home in the Lahaina fire.
00:13:40.120 So they're seeing government employees or government volunteers staying in these luxury accommodations,
00:13:47.120 being funded by taxpayers. That's where a lot of the frustration comes from.
00:13:53.000 A FEMA official we spoke with does not deny they are staying at five-star hotels and that
00:13:58.760 taxpayers money is paying for lodging for employees and survivors, but says it's not what it looks like.
00:14:06.720 FEMA personnel and responders are not here on vacation.
00:14:12.280 We're all here for the residents of Maui and the survivors of this terrible, this terrible incident.
00:14:24.880 It's not what it looks like, says FEMA. And, you know, maybe that's true. Maybe it was vitally
00:14:31.620 necessary for FEMA to rent out a bunch of luxury hotels in Hawaii somehow, for some reason. You know,
00:14:38.700 we really don't know. But every indication we have now is that this agency isn't capable of managing its budget
00:14:44.220 or responding effectively to disasters. Doesn't seem particularly interested in responding effectively.
00:14:50.980 So there are a lot of reasons to ask questions about this whole arrangement, especially after everything
00:14:55.860 we've seen. Will anyone in the media ask about any of this? Probably not.
00:15:01.160 Deanne Criswell is the woman who runs FEMA. She happens to be the first woman to ever hold that job.
00:15:05.960 So she has the whole identity politics angle, you know, going for her. Maybe that's why as FEMA
00:15:11.300 suffers one humiliation after another, no one's even suggesting that she should lose her job along
00:15:16.360 with the DHS secretary. Maybe Deanne Criswell is untouchable because the Biden-Harris administration
00:15:20.060 wants her to do exactly what she's doing, which is to sabotage recovery efforts. Maybe that's what
00:15:24.960 the government wants. They're certainly doing everything they can to create that impression.
00:15:30.160 The local CBS affiliate in North Carolina just reported that 1,000 soldiers in the state
00:15:34.400 are sitting around and doing nothing instead of assisting in disaster relief. There's a bit
00:15:39.440 of a theme here emerging. Quote, President Joe Biden activated 1,000 U.S. Army soldiers for
00:15:44.420 deployment to Western North Carolina. More than 24 hours later, troops are still waiting to be deployed
00:15:48.280 from Fort Liberty. The soldiers are supposed to assist with delivering food and essential supplies
00:15:53.020 to isolated communities devastated by Helene. The U.S. Army said soldiers with the 18th Airborne Corps
00:15:57.780 at Fort Liberty are standing by and ready if the request for support comes. The North Carolina Army
00:16:04.080 National Guard, which is leading the ground recovery efforts, tells CBS 17 they're still assessing the
00:16:09.020 needs in the area and they have not made an official request for support from the U.S. Army.
00:16:13.600 So the Army hasn't been called in for something. They're there, they're ready, but they're not
00:16:20.380 being called. A thousand soldiers have been activated, but they're not doing anything because
00:16:25.100 they haven't been given anything to do. Meanwhile, civilians who try to help are being prevented from
00:16:30.420 doing so. Here's Congressman Corey Mills explaining that because Joe Biden was in the area, the federal
00:16:35.700 government just prevented civilian rescue pilots and aid workers from saving lives in the aftermath of
00:16:40.960 this disaster. Watch. The other thing is, is that yesterday for President Biden's, you know,
00:16:45.760 dog and pony show to come in and see photos, he put a 30 mile TFR, which is basically a restriction
00:16:51.200 in the air zone, which means that he actually stopped from 12 o'clock until 1604 p.m. He stopped
00:16:56.740 air traffic and helos from transferring supplies, dropping SAR teams, picking up individuals from
00:17:01.880 medevacs. So that was not only irresponsible, but if you're going to come a week later,
00:17:06.160 at least make sure that you're not trying to, you know, hinder in any way further the actual
00:17:10.140 operations that are being led by civilian organizations and veterans such as myself and
00:17:13.860 others that are trying to do what is right. And so I found the entire response so far to be not
00:17:18.700 just lacking, but irresponsible in the NAVs. So to recap, FEMA doesn't provide early warning or
00:17:25.080 timely mandatory evacuation orders. They don't provide any significant assistance after the storm.
00:17:30.120 They divert huge amounts of resources to foreign nationals who have no legal justification for being
00:17:34.720 in this country. They shut down the airspace to block civilian rescue flights. They say they're
00:17:40.460 out of money. And just three months ago, they told us they were tremendously prepared for hurricane
00:17:45.100 season. You know, watching all this, you have to ask yourself why you're even paying taxes. Why are we
00:17:54.140 paying FEMA billions of dollars every year only to make disasters even more deadly? Why are we funneling
00:18:01.100 our money to people who clearly hate us and have no interest in helping, doing the job that they're
00:18:06.920 paid to do? Ask yourself, if the Biden-Harris administration wanted to go out of its way to
00:18:12.660 punish American citizens, wanted to actually cause suffering, what exactly would they be doing
00:18:19.500 differently? You know, at some point, complete and total incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.
00:18:26.860 And anyone who's been paying attention to FEMA over the past year, as well as everyone
00:18:31.360 living in the areas that have been decimated by this hurricane,
00:18:35.100 knows that we are now well past that point. Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:20:05.260 I want to talk about this case, and first I'm going to read this, well, it's a heavily biased
00:20:11.180 article from ABC News. Biased, but the essential information is in there, at least to set up the
00:20:16.300 conversation that I want to have about this. So here's ABC News. Former Mesa County Colorado clerk
00:20:24.740 Tina Peters was sentenced to nine years in prison for leading a security breach of the county's
00:20:29.980 election system after being inspired by false and baseless claims of voting fraud. Peters,
00:20:35.140 a Republican, was convicted for giving an individual affiliated with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell,
00:20:39.720 an ally of former President Donald Trump, access to the election software she used for her county.
00:20:44.600 Screenshots of the software appeared on right-wing websites.
00:20:48.440 She was found guilty on most of the charges related to election tampering and misconduct.
00:20:54.000 Before being sentenced, Peters took the stand, asked for probation, and told the judge that she
00:20:58.060 never did anything with malice and believed she was serving the people in Mesa County.
00:21:03.120 I'm not a criminal, and I don't deserve to go into a prison where other people have committed
00:21:05.820 heinous crimes, Peters said. And then she said that she's remorseful.
00:21:10.560 But all to no avail, she was sentenced to nine years in prison. Let me play just a clip of this
00:21:16.720 judge. Now, this judge excoriated Tina Peters at length before passing down this sentence. And
00:21:26.240 we'll play just a little bit of the clip of this scene in the courtroom. Let's watch.
00:21:29.480 You have no problem trying to kick an officer. Your explanation about what happened is preposterous.
00:21:35.200 It's on video. You have no problem lying to officers. It's happened multiple times.
00:21:41.280 They're recorded conversations. It's just more lies. No objective person believes them.
00:21:49.140 No, at the end of the day, you cared about the jets, the podcasts, and the people finding
00:21:55.400 overview. You abdicated your position as a servant to the Constitution, and you chose you over all
00:22:01.560 else. Yes, you are a charlatan, and you cannot help but lie as easy it is for you to breathe.
00:22:09.360 You betrayed your oath for no one other than you. As to counts one and four, the judgment and
00:22:15.520 sentence of the court is three and a half years in the Department of Corrections. Those sentences will
00:22:19.500 be concurrent to each other. As to count two, the judgment and sentence of the court is three and a
00:22:25.100 half years consecutive to counts one and four. As it relates to the misdemeanor charges, count eight
00:22:33.240 is 120 days in the Mesa County Detention Facility, concurrent to count nine and ten, which will be six
00:22:42.720 months in the Mesa County Detention Facility consecutive to the prison sentence. The reason
00:22:50.960 those sentences are consecutive is because those sentences are, as the prosecution stated, directly
00:22:58.160 related to what it is that you did here in our community, the damage you caused this community,
00:23:03.760 the breach of your oath to the electorate in Mesa County. Your sentence will be followed by three
00:23:11.160 years of parole. You have two days of pre-sentence confinement credit. Count six is criminal
00:23:16.880 impersonation. That's also consecutive. That's 15 months to the Department of Corrections.
00:23:22.760 So it's eight and a half years total, plus the six months for a total of nine years of incarceration.
00:23:30.120 So nine years in prison, the judge, you know, rips her to shreds and then sends her to prison for nine
00:23:45.660 years. This woman's almost 70 years old, by the way, a gold star mom, cancer survivor.
00:23:52.560 She'll probably now die in prison. And I'm not interested in debating the merits of the case
00:24:00.500 itself. Let's accept all the facts the prosecutor presented. She illegally accessed a voting machine,
00:24:08.700 I guess. She, whatever, took pictures and sent them. And she did it because she believed that she
00:24:17.000 was uncovering voter fraud. And I think that there's agreement on that point, by the way.
00:24:24.840 She wasn't accused of hacking into the machines to rig the election, right? This is all after the fact.
00:24:31.360 And it was done in her mind anyway, to uncover or reveal a rigged election. You know, she said in
00:24:38.300 the sentencing that she thought she was serving the people of her county. And I think that that's
00:24:47.100 pretty apparent that that's what she thought. Otherwise, why would you do it? What would be the
00:24:51.080 motive? Now, if you commit a crime just because you thought you were doing the right thing, that's not
00:24:57.720 an excuse. That's not going to get you off the hook oftentimes.
00:25:02.440 But these are the kinds of things that are weighed in sentencing.
00:25:10.380 But they didn't amount to anything. Here, nine years in prison.
00:25:14.560 All of these consecutive, you notice he said all these convicted and all these charges consecutive.
00:25:20.300 He could have done concurrent on all of it, but, you know, and even reduced it to three years,
00:25:25.580 which would also be crazy. But no, he wants, he threw the book at her. He wants her to spend as
00:25:32.020 much time in prison as possible. So nine years in prison for a 70-year-old woman who is not in any
00:25:39.680 way a danger to society. A woman with no previous criminal record. A woman who could be let back
00:25:46.220 into society and she could move in next door to you and you'd have no reason to worry, right?
00:25:56.060 That there's not anyone in the country who would feel unsafe having this woman in the neighborhood.
00:26:03.980 But nine years.
00:26:06.800 You know, you could pull out a gun and rob the gas station down the street and get less time than that.
00:26:13.600 In fact, you'd almost certainly get less time.
00:26:15.840 You could kill someone and get less time.
00:26:19.160 You could certainly deal drugs and get much less time, commit assault, abuse a child.
00:26:27.260 I mean, criminals guilty of all of these crimes are routinely given less time.
00:26:34.660 And on top of it, treated with more respect by the judge.
00:26:37.640 It wouldn't be that hard to find child molesters who get more gentle treatment from the judge and
00:26:47.960 get less time in prison.
00:26:51.240 And these are all criminals who actually are dangerous to their communities.
00:26:55.920 These are the kinds of people you certainly would not want living next door to you.
00:27:00.380 These are the kinds of people who not only are their crimes much more egregious,
00:27:05.040 and so they deserve stiffer penalties.
00:27:07.960 But also, you can't.
00:27:11.800 It's almost an act of attempted murder to not put them in prison.
00:27:16.200 You are directly endangering the lives of the community by not putting them in prison
00:27:21.680 for the rest of their lives.
00:27:25.900 These are actual violent predators who are not reformed, probably will never be reformed.
00:27:31.040 These are violent, dangerous sociopaths who routinely get fewer than nine years in prison.
00:27:40.820 Maybe even fewer than nine months in some cases.
00:27:43.100 You could go out and carjack somebody at a stoplight right now,
00:27:47.780 and you almost certainly would not get nine years in prison.
00:27:51.960 You could carjack someone and kill them in the process,
00:27:54.780 and you might not get nine years in prison.
00:27:56.240 Well, I say you.
00:28:00.780 I guess that depends.
00:28:03.280 Because, either way, I'm not encouraging you to do any of those things, obviously.
00:28:11.680 But saying you in a general sense, it doesn't necessarily apply,
00:28:16.380 because for Peters, the most salient point is not the crime she committed,
00:28:23.040 it's that she's conservative and white.
00:28:27.360 That's what matters.
00:28:29.380 So she's going to jail for nine years.
00:28:31.820 Not because she, you know, sabotaged a voting machine or hacked into a voting machine
00:28:41.320 and took pictures and sent them around.
00:28:46.180 That's not why she's going to jail for nine years.
00:28:48.120 Because if this was a black woman and a Democrat who did this on, you know,
00:28:55.680 in order to prove that Trump's report, that the machines were rigged, you know,
00:29:01.640 against the Democrats, in that scenario, she's not going to jail for nine years.
00:29:05.660 We all know that.
00:29:06.220 Like, every single person knows that.
00:29:08.940 She's not going to jail at all.
00:29:10.180 So, even in the crimes I just listed, I mean, carjacking, murder, drug dealing,
00:29:17.180 if you're a white conservative and you did any of those things,
00:29:19.520 now, conservatives don't generally do those things,
00:29:21.100 but if you're a white conservative and you did any of those things I listed,
00:29:23.940 maybe you would get nine years in prison or more.
00:29:27.580 But if you're black or if you're more politically aligned with the judge,
00:29:31.800 or better yet, for you, both, no.
00:29:35.720 No way.
00:29:36.260 So, this is not justice at all.
00:29:41.680 We don't have justice in this country.
00:29:43.120 We don't have a, we call it a justice system,
00:29:45.040 but a justice system implies that there is a system that imposes justice.
00:29:51.920 It's right there in the name.
00:29:53.620 And we don't have that.
00:29:57.500 This is not a shock, of course.
00:29:58.940 We know that in other courts around the country,
00:30:02.600 they are, similar sentences have been passed down to pro-lifers.
00:30:08.860 Yet again, for the most part, white, and all of them are conservative.
00:30:14.960 So, if you're a white conservative and you find yourself in court charged with any crime,
00:30:19.360 you can just pretty much be assured that,
00:30:22.680 look at what the law says, what's the maximum penalty?
00:30:26.880 You already know, that's what you're getting.
00:30:30.020 Let's see.
00:30:31.100 I'm going to mention this.
00:30:31.940 This is from LOTT Wire, which is what lives with TikTok's website.
00:30:39.340 The West Point School Board in Virginia agreed to pay $575,000 in damages and legal fees
00:30:46.240 to Peter Vlaming, a teacher fired in 2018 for refusing to use a transgender student's preferred pronouns.
00:30:53.780 Vlaming, a French teacher, claimed that his termination violated his First Amendment rights,
00:30:57.960 prompting a lawsuit.
00:30:59.880 After multiple court rulings, the Virginia Supreme Court reinstated his case in December,
00:31:04.360 ruling that the school board had indeed violated his rights.
00:31:08.120 Vlaming was represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom,
00:31:10.300 which argued that his dismissal was not for something he said,
00:31:12.640 but for something he couldn't say due to his beliefs.
00:31:16.740 ADF Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer stated that Vlaming's refusal to speak what he believed to be untrue
00:31:21.840 should not have resulted in punishment.
00:31:25.160 Part of the settlement, the school board cleared Vlaming's firing record
00:31:28.040 and revised its policies to align with guidelines introduced by Governor Glenn Youngkin's administration.
00:31:34.520 Vlaming expressed that he was wrongfully fired for his religious beliefs
00:31:36.760 and criticized the school's insistence on a single perspective regarding gender identity.
00:31:39.780 So here's a, we just talked about a grave injustice, and here's an example of justice at least.
00:31:50.000 So there is still justice happening in some places in the country.
00:31:54.400 We don't really have a system in place for it.
00:31:56.300 It's not consistent.
00:31:57.600 But in this case, justice.
00:31:59.440 Now, I think, I think the guy deserved more than $575,000
00:32:03.980 for such an egregious violation of his basic human rights, his basic First Amendment rights.
00:32:12.920 Now, he would have deserved $5 million.
00:32:15.240 Or really, there's no, I mean, you can't really put a price tag on your First Amendment rights.
00:32:20.080 $575,000 seems like, if you are going to put a price tag on it,
00:32:23.740 seems like a pretty low one.
00:32:24.800 But still, he was vindicated.
00:32:28.140 He's getting the payment.
00:32:29.940 And the school board has to eat crow on this one, which is as it should be.
00:32:34.360 I will say that, as I've tried to argue before,
00:32:39.260 when you hear about these kinds of cases,
00:32:41.680 and they're framed as a religious rights case,
00:32:44.880 I understand why they're framed that way legally.
00:32:47.600 And obviously, in this case, it paid off.
00:32:49.880 So, Alliance Defending Freedom, they know a lot more than I do
00:32:55.240 about how to approach things like this legally.
00:32:57.520 So, from a legal perspective,
00:32:59.060 when you have these crazy cases of somebody,
00:33:02.220 a school teacher or in another line of work,
00:33:05.440 being forced to use preferred pronouns,
00:33:07.620 and framing it as a violation of their religious liberty,
00:33:12.600 it is that.
00:33:13.400 It is certainly that.
00:33:14.860 And so, that makes sense.
00:33:17.520 But it's also much more than that.
00:33:19.880 You know, it's not just that.
00:33:24.800 Because Peter Vlaming,
00:33:29.380 the reason why he didn't want to use the preferred pronouns,
00:33:35.640 he didn't want to use inaccurate pronouns,
00:33:38.060 it's not just that he's Christian.
00:33:41.600 It's that it's just not true.
00:33:45.320 It doesn't align with his Christian values,
00:33:47.820 his Christian beliefs,
00:33:48.640 but it also doesn't align with basic biological reality.
00:33:55.600 And so, really, where's Christian beliefs come into this?
00:33:58.260 It's not like, well, I'm a Christian,
00:34:00.120 and therefore, I believe that if you're a man, you're a man,
00:34:02.420 and if you're a woman, you're a woman.
00:34:04.180 No, you don't need to be a Christian to believe that.
00:34:05.760 But as a Christian, you can't lie.
00:34:11.320 That's the part.
00:34:12.720 That's really where the Christian values come in.
00:34:18.440 Again, I don't need, it's not a Christian value of mine that says that men are men.
00:34:25.180 And that's just physical reality.
00:34:28.140 The Christian value is,
00:34:30.200 I cannot tell a lie,
00:34:31.900 and I can't cooperate with a lie,
00:34:34.440 and I certainly cannot cooperate with this delusional idea
00:34:39.640 that is also causing great harm to the person that I'm sort of lying on behalf of.
00:34:48.200 And so, that's the Christian belief.
00:34:53.520 And I'd like to say that this is part of a trend.
00:34:57.620 When you look at this case and how it turned out,
00:34:59.760 I'd like to say this is part of a trend,
00:35:02.680 and I think maybe it is.
00:35:04.980 Part of a trend where
00:35:06.340 the kind of delusional fever dream that society's been in for the past decade or so
00:35:19.180 is maybe starting to break.
00:35:22.580 I saw someone on Twitter yesterday, I don't remember who,
00:35:24.920 but remarking on this point that it seems like culturally,
00:35:29.980 like on the left, the Democrats,
00:35:32.020 it's sort of noticeable that during this presidential election,
00:35:36.760 they're not talking about trans rights.
00:35:40.360 Like at all.
00:35:41.620 I mean, when have we heard Kamala Harris say anything about trans rights?
00:35:46.500 Has she even used the phrase one time?
00:35:48.020 Maybe she has.
00:35:48.720 I'm sure we could find video of it.
00:35:50.000 But it is not coming up.
00:35:52.600 They aren't talking about it.
00:35:54.860 We've watched multiple presidential debates.
00:35:57.440 They're not bringing it up.
00:35:58.400 You know, the closest they'll get is when they talk about things like
00:36:03.160 supposed book bans.
00:36:05.420 And really the book bans are just efforts to keep
00:36:08.140 LGBT and trans propaganda out of the schools,
00:36:11.440 pornographic materials out of the schools.
00:36:12.940 That's the closest they'll get.
00:36:15.180 But that's it.
00:36:20.360 It was only a couple of years ago,
00:36:21.600 they were going around screaming about the totally invented,
00:36:23.860 made up trans genocide that's going on
00:36:26.620 and all of this kind of thing.
00:36:28.560 And they were going around
00:36:29.880 accusing their opponents of being transphobes.
00:36:32.680 Haven't heard that very much recently.
00:36:37.000 So it does seem like a great retreat is underway on the left.
00:36:43.200 And they have basically lost on this issue.
00:36:46.080 That's how it seems.
00:36:52.120 I think it's still too early to declare,
00:36:54.480 to kind of plant our flag and declare total victory.
00:36:58.640 It's certainly too early for that.
00:37:00.440 I mean, the trans agenda is still happening.
00:37:04.060 It's still a real thing in this country.
00:37:08.620 But there is a retreat.
00:37:10.020 And they're losing ground.
00:37:11.120 And they're not even trying to defend a lot of the ground
00:37:13.960 that they're losing at this point.
00:37:17.000 And elected Democrats in particular are embarrassed of it.
00:37:22.580 That wasn't the case four or five years ago.
00:37:24.220 But now they're embarrassed.
00:37:26.300 They don't want to talk about it.
00:37:28.080 Because they know how crazy it sounds.
00:37:31.800 But that didn't just happen on its own.
00:37:33.460 That wasn't a...
00:37:35.460 This didn't just...
00:37:37.380 It's not dumb luck
00:37:39.160 that it happened this way.
00:37:42.700 This is because conservatives
00:37:44.260 fought back and were winning.
00:37:49.300 So there's something positive.
00:37:50.840 This is important.
00:37:52.020 Politico published an article
00:37:53.180 analyzing the body language and facial features
00:37:55.700 of both of the candidates in the debate on Tuesday.
00:37:58.700 Walls and Vance.
00:38:00.660 Completely insane, as you would expect.
00:38:02.500 But this is the worst part.
00:38:03.880 Can we pull up this?
00:38:05.800 This is real, by the way.
00:38:10.680 This is not a joke.
00:38:11.380 This is Politico.
00:38:13.400 It says,
00:38:14.180 Yes, Vance's beard matters.
00:38:17.140 Vance is the first White House wannabe
00:38:18.560 to wear facial hair in 80 years.
00:38:20.240 Research indicates that voters see beards
00:38:21.860 as more masculine.
00:38:23.340 That can be positive to some.
00:38:25.520 But to others,
00:38:26.520 especially women,
00:38:27.260 it can be negative,
00:38:28.060 conveying aggression
00:38:28.860 and opposition to feminist ideals.
00:38:31.260 So that's the significance
00:38:36.140 of Vance's beard.
00:38:38.880 Women might be afraid of it.
00:38:40.580 Now, first of all,
00:38:41.260 any woman who is categorically opposed to beards
00:38:43.700 or has a negative view of them
00:38:45.080 in general
00:38:46.200 is confused.
00:38:49.980 Possibly deranged.
00:38:52.120 And it's a very unnatural thing.
00:38:54.100 A woman should not prefer
00:38:55.440 that a man have a childlike baby face.
00:38:58.240 Now, a woman might think
00:39:01.040 that a particular man
00:39:02.660 doesn't look good with a beard
00:39:04.560 or looks better without one.
00:39:06.680 I'll allow for that.
00:39:07.840 Now, even that is questionable at best
00:39:09.720 because really,
00:39:10.680 every man looks better with a beard.
00:39:12.820 I don't think there is a man
00:39:14.440 who could not be improved
00:39:16.820 by a beard.
00:39:20.240 But, okay, we'll let that go.
00:39:22.680 For a woman to just flat out
00:39:24.480 see all beards as upsetting,
00:39:27.100 that's demented.
00:39:32.560 I mean, that would be like
00:39:33.460 a man who prefers for women
00:39:35.200 to look less feminine.
00:39:37.460 Which you would never,
00:39:37.940 imagine a man saying,
00:39:39.100 yeah, you know,
00:39:39.700 she's attractive,
00:39:40.460 but she's a bit too feminine
00:39:41.400 for my taste.
00:39:43.100 I need a bit more masculinity
00:39:44.520 in my women.
00:39:46.200 No man would ever say that.
00:39:49.900 So,
00:39:51.100 call me a mansplainer,
00:39:53.440 but ladies,
00:39:54.260 I mean,
00:39:54.680 if you prefer men without beards,
00:39:56.280 then you're wrong.
00:39:58.640 You know,
00:39:58.920 get it together.
00:40:00.380 Get a grip.
00:40:01.740 All right?
00:40:02.940 Calm down.
00:40:04.380 Calm down and get a grip.
00:40:08.440 Your tastes here are wrong.
00:40:10.880 And I'm just telling you,
00:40:11.500 it's not mansplaining,
00:40:12.620 I'm just telling you.
00:40:13.280 And I know you might think,
00:40:17.020 well, I'm biased,
00:40:17.660 I'm only saying because I have a beard,
00:40:19.200 but I have no skin in the game,
00:40:21.200 right?
00:40:21.440 I'm not saying this for my own sake.
00:40:23.240 I have a wife,
00:40:24.960 she understands the value of a beard,
00:40:27.740 so I'm only,
00:40:28.700 I'm just saying this in general,
00:40:30.640 because I'm concerned about you.
00:40:32.640 I'm worried about you,
00:40:34.020 ladies.
00:40:37.220 And I realize that you need,
00:40:38.740 you need me to,
00:40:39.860 sometimes you need a man to come and,
00:40:43.760 and guide you and,
00:40:45.220 and,
00:40:45.860 and help you through moments of confusion.
00:40:48.760 And so second thing is,
00:40:52.200 I'm sure that will all go over really well.
00:40:55.500 So I'll wait for the Twitter.
00:40:57.120 I'll wait for the Twitter clip.
00:40:59.240 Media matters.
00:40:59.960 They're on the case on that one.
00:41:01.140 They are on the case.
00:41:02.660 I didn't even finish saying it.
00:41:04.300 And they had already clipped it.
00:41:05.120 I didn't even finish.
00:41:06.640 Hang on media.
00:41:07.360 I have more sexist things to say.
00:41:08.680 Just hang on.
00:41:09.040 Let me finish my whole thing before you click.
00:41:10.620 And then decide what you're going to clip.
00:41:14.660 My second point is,
00:41:15.940 you know,
00:41:16.380 Politico mentions a problem here that,
00:41:18.760 up until now,
00:41:20.760 I think I'm one of the only ones who talked about this,
00:41:24.780 but they don't see it as a problem,
00:41:26.520 you know,
00:41:26.800 of course,
00:41:27.200 but,
00:41:27.640 but it is a problem.
00:41:28.420 They say that Vance is the first candidate on presidential ticket to have a beard in like 80 years.
00:41:35.700 And that's true.
00:41:37.580 Right.
00:41:38.960 And so it's been like 80 years.
00:41:41.640 Okay.
00:41:42.080 Look at what's happened to this country over the past 80 years.
00:41:45.520 We've been in decline since the beardless took over devastation and decline.
00:41:54.240 That's what a smooth face gets you.
00:41:56.940 Is it a coincidence?
00:41:57.860 Is it a coincidence that we've just been trending like this ever since we kicked the beards to the curb?
00:42:05.680 Now,
00:42:07.740 the truth is that it's really been over a hundred years since we had a president with facial hair.
00:42:11.600 Never mind vice president.
00:42:12.520 Since we had a president.
00:42:13.340 Now,
00:42:13.740 I think Truman had facial hair for a brief moment in time,
00:42:16.520 but the last president to really lean into the facial hair was Taft.
00:42:21.760 So for almost the entire 20th century,
00:42:25.480 we have had no beards and no mustaches in the Oval Office,
00:42:28.840 which is crazy.
00:42:32.780 And also,
00:42:33.540 it just so happens the 20th century was a century of chaos and bloodshed.
00:42:38.920 And I think that,
00:42:40.120 at least in part,
00:42:41.440 is because there were no bearded or mustachioed men
00:42:44.080 around to lead with masculine strength and calm.
00:42:49.300 Because one thing we know is that with bearded men,
00:42:53.520 you don't get the bloodshed.
00:42:56.600 I mean,
00:42:56.760 look at the Vikings,
00:42:57.460 for instance,
00:42:58.000 famously peaceful.
00:43:00.000 So I don't know.
00:43:01.180 Would the Great Depression have happened
00:43:02.560 if we had presidents who were bearded?
00:43:09.320 Would the Challenger have exploded?
00:43:11.280 Could we have avoided World War II
00:43:13.460 if there was more facial hair involved?
00:43:17.320 I realize that's a little bit of an awkward one.
00:43:19.300 Given,
00:43:19.860 you know,
00:43:21.100 Hitler.
00:43:21.500 But anyway,
00:43:22.680 I don't know.
00:43:23.800 I don't know for sure.
00:43:24.420 I just think there's something here we need to look at.
00:43:26.420 And you do have to wonder.
00:43:28.640 You have to wonder about this.
00:43:31.620 Anyway.
00:43:33.020 Every year for Halloween,
00:43:34.120 you know,
00:43:34.720 I dress up as me.

00:44:38.240 daily cancellation.
00:44:45.460 Now you might not have known this
00:44:47.100 but every once in a while
00:44:48.280 and by that I mean
00:44:49.840 once every four days or so
00:44:51.200 the internet gets
00:44:52.260 really mad at me.
00:44:53.640 And sometimes the internet
00:44:54.600 is mad
00:44:55.120 because of a stance
00:44:56.540 I've taken on
00:44:57.200 some serious cultural
00:44:58.280 or political issue
00:44:59.120 but in many cases
00:45:00.540 the outrage
00:45:01.100 is in response
00:45:01.860 to opinions I've expressed
00:45:03.080 about issues that are
00:45:04.120 arguably less important.
00:45:07.040 Long time fans of this show
00:45:08.300 will recall
00:45:08.800 some classic examples
00:45:09.860 like the outrage
00:45:11.160 that ensued
00:45:11.700 when I said that
00:45:12.300 mermaids wouldn't be
00:45:13.460 black in real life
00:45:14.380 because they'd really
00:45:15.040 be translucent
00:45:15.660 or the overwhelming
00:45:17.560 anger that followed
00:45:18.520 after I declared
00:45:19.280 that all anime
00:45:20.320 is satanic.
00:45:22.280 Some of the greatest hits
00:45:23.360 there.
00:45:23.680 More recently
00:45:24.140 just a few weeks ago
00:45:24.860 I was at the center
00:45:25.660 of a firestorm
00:45:26.320 that raged
00:45:27.280 for days and days
00:45:29.840 when I boldly declared
00:45:31.180 that raw milk
00:45:31.940 is gross
00:45:32.620 and in a follow-up tweet
00:45:34.480 I revealed that
00:45:35.220 I personally conduct
00:45:36.540 surveillance
00:45:37.060 at my local grocery stores
00:45:38.420 to make sure
00:45:38.860 that they're not selling
00:45:39.580 any raw milk
00:45:40.180 and if they are selling
00:45:40.960 raw milk
00:45:41.320 I call the police
00:45:42.680 and screenshots
00:45:43.980 of that tweet
00:45:44.680 in particular
00:45:45.120 have been plastered
00:45:45.840 all over Twitter
00:45:46.340 as proof that
00:45:46.940 I am a deranged fascist.
00:45:49.120 The most recent fury
00:45:51.040 revolves around comments
00:45:51.960 that I made
00:45:52.340 about sick days.
00:45:53.060 So on this show
00:45:54.100 a couple weeks ago
00:45:55.080 I said that
00:45:56.820 sick days are for children.
00:45:58.880 Adults who take sick days
00:45:59.880 should be embarrassed
00:46:00.760 and Media Matters
00:46:02.280 of course posted
00:46:02.940 the clip of that segment
00:46:04.060 not the full segment
00:46:05.400 but just the 70 to 80 seconds
00:46:07.080 that they consider
00:46:07.680 to be the most outrageous.
00:46:09.300 The peanut gallery
00:46:10.060 on both the right and left
00:46:11.240 dutifully responded
00:46:12.240 by being outraged
00:46:13.320 about the thing
00:46:13.840 that Media Matters
00:46:14.640 wanted them to be outraged about.
00:46:17.000 Now you might think
00:46:17.620 that by now
00:46:18.380 conservatives would just
00:46:19.360 flat out refuse
00:46:20.380 to ever respond
00:46:21.500 with outrage
00:46:22.060 to a Media Matters clip
00:46:23.480 under any circumstance
00:46:25.000 given that Media Matters
00:46:26.680 are a bunch of
00:46:27.160 left-wing vultures
00:46:28.040 whose whole entire
00:46:29.000 mission in life
00:46:29.660 is to clip conservatives
00:46:30.640 out of context
00:46:31.380 and gin up outrage
00:46:32.660 against them.
00:46:34.660 You know
00:46:34.900 but you think
00:46:35.480 conservatives by now
00:46:36.100 would have realized that
00:46:37.100 and would say
00:46:37.720 well that's a Media Matters clip
00:46:38.780 I'm not
00:46:39.180 I'm going to ignore it.
00:46:40.500 But no
00:46:41.680 many conservatives
00:46:42.460 are still more than willing
00:46:43.500 to play the game
00:46:44.220 with Media Matters.
00:46:45.060 Media Matters goes to them
00:46:45.920 and says hey
00:46:46.280 you should be mad about this.
00:46:47.820 Mad at one of your own people
00:46:48.680 on your side
00:46:49.380 and they go okay
00:46:50.260 I'll be mad.
00:46:51.760 Thanks for telling me
00:46:52.420 to be mad.
00:46:53.940 Which is all great of course.
00:46:55.260 Well done everyone.
00:46:56.360 Well done.
00:46:57.520 In any case
00:46:57.980 this week I was interviewed
00:46:59.480 by the talented comedian
00:47:00.620 John Crist
00:47:01.340 on his podcast
00:47:01.940 and he asked me
00:47:03.920 about this sick day controversy.
00:47:05.940 I clarified my stance
00:47:07.480 but somehow
00:47:08.540 my clarification
00:47:09.360 has only made people
00:47:11.620 more upset.
00:47:13.520 Let's watch that clip.
00:47:14.560 so my
00:47:16.380 my basic
00:47:17.480 if you're
00:47:18.680 if you're
00:47:19.220 if your body temperature
00:47:21.080 is below
00:47:21.940 105
00:47:23.340 105
00:47:24.740 and you can still walk
00:47:26.560 get your ass to work
00:47:27.780 105 is crazy.
00:47:30.220 And as long as you don't have
00:47:31.020 a fatal communicable disease.
00:47:32.940 Yeah.
00:47:33.700 That's why
00:47:34.000 because if I'm
00:47:34.540 if I'm the boss
00:47:35.220 and someone calls me
00:47:35.840 and says I can't make it
00:47:36.640 and I'm sick.
00:47:37.240 Yeah.
00:47:38.420 I say
00:47:39.220 what are you
00:47:40.320 my first question
00:47:41.160 are you dying?
00:47:42.200 Yeah.
00:47:42.460 Because you're paying them.
00:47:43.600 Right.
00:47:43.760 And then they say no.
00:47:44.860 I said okay
00:47:45.280 well whatever you have
00:47:46.880 could you pay
00:47:47.420 will I catch it
00:47:48.600 if you come in?
00:47:50.240 If the answer is no
00:47:51.180 to both of those
00:47:51.940 they're coming to work.
00:47:53.160 So you just don't want to work.
00:47:55.340 Right.
00:47:55.760 Yeah well that's what
00:47:56.380 you're kind of saying.
00:47:57.500 So I don't think
00:47:58.200 in high school
00:47:58.720 I I never
00:48:00.560 I never took a sick day.
00:48:02.660 First of all
00:48:03.180 I liked going.
00:48:04.560 You like going to high school?
00:48:06.140 I thought it was fun.
00:48:06.980 I never
00:48:07.360 I've never missed a day.
00:48:09.180 I promise you right now
00:48:09.940 I'd never miss a day
00:48:10.700 so I'm going to go to
00:48:11.200 fact check that
00:48:11.840 Miss McHugh
00:48:12.540 call her up.
00:48:13.760 That's crazy.
00:48:14.540 I missed so many days
00:48:15.420 in high school.
00:48:16.280 Not for being sick.
00:48:17.860 Right I just didn't want to go.
00:48:18.920 Oh well.
00:48:21.280 So there are hundreds
00:48:22.080 of comments
00:48:22.740 in response
00:48:24.400 again many of them
00:48:25.220 from people on the right
00:48:26.020 who are incensed
00:48:27.280 by that statement.
00:48:29.140 They say that it's unreasonable
00:48:30.160 and callous
00:48:30.980 and insane
00:48:31.540 and un-Christlike.
00:48:33.660 Many of them say
00:48:34.540 that I should not talk
00:48:35.480 about this subject at all
00:48:36.700 because I don't know
00:48:37.520 what it's like to work hard.
00:48:39.220 How dare I speak
00:48:40.060 about a subject like work
00:48:41.280 given that I've never
00:48:42.100 worked a real job
00:48:42.820 in my life.
00:48:44.160 I'm a trust fund
00:48:45.220 billionaire trust fund baby.
00:48:47.020 I don't know
00:48:47.580 what work is.
00:48:49.380 Now they have me
00:48:50.440 on that last point
00:48:51.180 I must admit.
00:48:51.900 Sure
00:48:52.260 I have in fact
00:48:54.380 worked many
00:48:55.300 what they would call
00:48:56.900 real jobs
00:48:57.940 in my life.
00:48:58.620 I've worked two or three
00:48:59.320 jobs at once
00:48:59.960 to make ends meet
00:49:00.700 but that was a long time ago.
00:49:02.600 In the past three years
00:49:03.720 I've you know
00:49:04.220 haven't really done
00:49:05.060 anything.
00:49:05.540 I've made two feature films
00:49:07.920 while also doing
00:49:08.480 a daily show
00:49:09.020 and supporting
00:49:09.420 a family of eight
00:49:10.300 which is obviously
00:49:12.420 a total breeze
00:49:13.100 and certainly
00:49:13.560 any of the people
00:49:14.140 mad at me
00:49:14.620 on the internet
00:49:15.140 right now
00:49:15.640 could easily
00:49:16.340 do the same
00:49:17.140 never mind the fact
00:49:18.340 that many of the people
00:49:18.960 accusing me
00:49:19.420 of not having a real job
00:49:20.420 are themselves
00:49:21.360 social media influencers
00:49:22.900 but
00:49:23.280 we won't get hung up
00:49:26.540 on those details.
00:49:28.380 Let's just get to
00:49:29.160 the substantive point.
00:49:30.920 So first let me get
00:49:31.820 one thing out of the way.
00:49:32.580 There have been a few
00:49:35.120 commenters
00:49:36.020 a minority
00:49:37.280 but they're out there
00:49:38.220 who have assured
00:49:39.800 the outraged masses
00:49:40.740 that I'm not being
00:49:42.300 entirely serious.
00:49:44.040 According to these people
00:49:45.340 I'm doing something
00:49:46.360 known in some circles
00:49:47.840 as joking.
00:49:51.400 I am they say
00:49:52.720 employing the comedic device
00:49:54.480 of hyperbole
00:49:55.440 and exaggeration
00:49:56.400 as evidence
00:49:56.920 they point to the fact
00:49:57.700 that in the clip
00:49:58.480 that we just played
00:49:59.920 I'm talking to a comedian
00:50:02.180 who is laughing
00:50:03.620 at what I'm saying
00:50:04.980 as one does
00:50:06.620 when they hear a joke.
00:50:08.460 Now they also claim
00:50:09.260 that I in fact
00:50:10.200 use dry humor
00:50:11.240 and sarcasm
00:50:11.940 all the time.
00:50:13.180 They point to the fact
00:50:14.080 that I have a comedy film
00:50:15.520 in theaters
00:50:16.520 right now
00:50:17.540 as we speak
00:50:18.520 where I use
00:50:19.100 exactly that device.
00:50:21.500 You can get your tickets
00:50:22.060 now at miracist.com.
00:50:23.520 Indeed these
00:50:24.080 contrarians claim
00:50:25.480 that all of the
00:50:26.880 outrages
00:50:27.380 I listed at the beginning
00:50:29.260 calling the police
00:50:30.240 on people who drink
00:50:30.900 raw milk
00:50:31.460 claiming that anime
00:50:32.520 is satanic
00:50:33.260 translucent mermaids
00:50:34.280 etc.
00:50:34.740 and many more
00:50:35.260 are all examples
00:50:36.160 of comedic exaggeration
00:50:37.620 not meant to be taken
00:50:39.420 entirely literally.
00:50:41.680 According to these people
00:50:42.480 my long established
00:50:43.720 style and pattern
00:50:44.940 one that again
00:50:45.720 I have made
00:50:46.300 entire movies around
00:50:48.260 is to start
00:50:49.920 with the core
00:50:50.580 of a point
00:50:51.100 that I actually believe
00:50:52.180 and then on occasion
00:50:53.340 to take that point
00:50:54.760 to intentionally
00:50:55.480 absurd extremes
00:50:56.580 as a joke.
00:50:58.700 This is something
00:50:59.280 that you might argue
00:51:00.120 normal people do
00:51:00.940 in everyday conversation
00:51:01.940 all the time.
00:51:03.020 It's a very common
00:51:04.320 type of humor
00:51:05.120 one that should be
00:51:05.940 familiar to
00:51:07.100 most earthlings.
00:51:08.740 For example
00:51:09.540 I was recently
00:51:11.220 talking to a friend
00:51:12.020 who was very distraught
00:51:13.000 because the Steelers
00:51:14.500 were in the process
00:51:15.200 of losing to the cults
00:51:16.480 and he declared
00:51:18.100 that he was so frustrated
00:51:19.220 he was about to
00:51:19.820 throw his TV
00:51:20.660 out of the window.
00:51:22.520 Now I did not
00:51:23.500 respond to that
00:51:24.280 declaration by saying
00:51:25.280 are you crazy?
00:51:26.140 Don't throw your TV
00:51:26.840 out the window?
00:51:27.480 What if you hit someone?
00:51:29.060 Besides that's not
00:51:29.860 going to help
00:51:30.220 the Steelers win.
00:51:32.360 I didn't say any of that
00:51:33.440 instead I said
00:51:34.100 yeah man they suck.
00:51:37.360 And that was it.
00:51:38.820 And that's because
00:51:39.280 I recognized that
00:51:40.220 although it was true
00:51:41.320 that he was upset
00:51:42.480 about the Steelers losing
00:51:43.640 he wasn't actually
00:51:45.220 going to throw the TV
00:51:46.280 out of the window
00:51:47.040 or throw it anywhere.
00:51:49.440 It was hyperbole.
00:51:51.260 He was exaggerating.
00:51:52.640 He was upset
00:51:55.740 but he was exaggerating
00:51:56.920 the degree
00:51:57.520 that he was upset.
00:51:59.480 Why did he do that?
00:52:01.300 What is again
00:52:01.840 something called a joke
00:52:03.180 spelled J-O-K-E
00:52:04.640 a joke
00:52:05.620 a thing that human beings
00:52:07.340 do from time to time.
00:52:09.900 Why?
00:52:10.500 Well just to be funny
00:52:11.780 I guess.
00:52:12.980 I don't know
00:52:13.720 but they do it.
00:52:16.160 Human beings
00:52:16.620 are interesting like that.
00:52:18.180 You should meet
00:52:18.840 one sometime.
00:52:19.460 But
00:52:21.080 with all that said
00:52:23.280 I want to make
00:52:24.980 one thing
00:52:25.400 absolutely clear.
00:52:27.800 These contrarians
00:52:28.820 are wrong.
00:52:31.300 Now I
00:52:31.620 it is true
00:52:32.300 that people joke
00:52:32.920 sometimes.
00:52:33.840 I am not joking.
00:52:35.480 I'm not joking
00:52:36.500 about any of it
00:52:37.560 ever.
00:52:38.480 I don't tell jokes.
00:52:40.680 Jokes are satanic.
00:52:42.900 You know who told jokes?
00:52:44.360 Hitler.
00:52:46.820 Well he probably didn't
00:52:48.120 but other people have.
00:52:49.720 John Wayne Gacy
00:52:50.580 was a clown
00:52:51.500 and also a serial killer.
00:52:52.860 That's where humor gets you.
00:52:54.660 Think about it.
00:52:56.080 So
00:52:56.360 if you've taken my point
00:52:57.980 about sick days
00:52:58.620 completely literally
00:52:59.580 then you have
00:53:01.060 the right idea.
00:53:03.300 No
00:53:03.840 you are not
00:53:04.700 a brain dead moron
00:53:06.400 going along
00:53:07.120 with Twitter outrage
00:53:08.260 ginned up
00:53:08.760 by media matters.
00:53:09.940 You're not that.
00:53:11.060 Don't worry.
00:53:12.900 You're right.
00:53:13.640 I am not
00:53:15.860 exaggerating
00:53:16.500 to be funny
00:53:17.300 in an attempt
00:53:17.840 to make a point
00:53:18.580 about the lack
00:53:19.280 of work ethic
00:53:19.820 in society.
00:53:20.700 That's definitely
00:53:21.560 not what's happening.
00:53:23.060 I do in fact
00:53:23.920 literally think
00:53:24.800 that you should
00:53:25.460 come to work
00:53:26.140 with a 104 degree fever.
00:53:28.660 And let me clarify
00:53:29.160 one other thing.
00:53:29.760 I meant
00:53:30.300 104 degrees
00:53:31.380 Celsius.
00:53:32.760 If your fever
00:53:33.700 is 104 degrees
00:53:35.220 Celsius
00:53:35.880 or below
00:53:36.460 which translates
00:53:36.960 to 212 degrees
00:53:38.080 Fahrenheit
00:53:38.400 then your lazy
00:53:40.080 good for nothing
00:53:41.060 ass
00:53:41.660 better be at work.
00:53:44.760 Essentially
00:53:45.160 you need to come
00:53:45.800 to work
00:53:46.120 unless you are
00:53:46.880 literally on fire
00:53:48.420 and even then
00:53:49.120 if I'm the boss
00:53:49.820 I'm going to want
00:53:50.420 to know
00:53:50.760 how much of you
00:53:51.960 is on fire.
00:53:53.200 Is this a full
00:53:54.100 immolation
00:53:54.740 Aaron Bushnell style
00:53:55.980 or are there
00:53:57.000 parts of you
00:53:57.720 that aren't on fire?
00:53:59.780 If you call me up
00:54:00.820 and say
00:54:01.140 boss I can't come in
00:54:01.860 I'm on fire
00:54:02.400 I say
00:54:02.940 what do you mean
00:54:03.820 you're up
00:54:04.260 what part of you?
00:54:06.180 I need more information
00:54:07.100 if your head
00:54:07.680 isn't on fire
00:54:08.360 then I see no reason
00:54:09.120 why you can't
00:54:09.600 make it to work.
00:54:10.120 What if you have
00:54:11.360 a fever
00:54:11.740 of 106 degrees
00:54:14.140 and you're literally
00:54:15.580 minutes away
00:54:16.380 from death?
00:54:17.700 Well minutes away
00:54:18.680 from death
00:54:19.120 is not dead.
00:54:20.520 Who's exaggerating
00:54:21.460 now?
00:54:22.520 Get to work.
00:54:23.680 What if you just
00:54:24.380 got home from Africa
00:54:25.200 and it turns out
00:54:25.800 that you contracted
00:54:26.340 the Ebola virus?
00:54:28.240 Should you go to work
00:54:29.060 in that case?
00:54:30.180 Well obviously not
00:54:31.120 I wouldn't want you
00:54:31.740 in the building
00:54:32.200 with a lethally
00:54:32.940 contagious disease
00:54:33.820 but there's no reason
00:54:35.220 why you can't be
00:54:35.860 in the parking lot
00:54:36.620 go to work
00:54:38.400 sit in the parking lot
00:54:39.440 in your car
00:54:40.100 will have one
00:54:40.660 of the more
00:54:40.960 expendable interns
00:54:41.920 bring your work
00:54:42.760 out to you.
00:54:43.880 If you can't do
00:54:44.720 your work in the car
00:54:45.540 then you're fired.
00:54:47.680 You didn't have
00:54:48.380 permission to get
00:54:48.960 Ebola in the first place
00:54:50.380 what are you doing
00:54:51.120 getting Ebola?
00:54:52.720 That's a violation
00:54:53.500 of your employment
00:54:54.060 agreement
00:54:54.400 specifically page 5
00:54:55.540 section 3
00:54:56.020 which says
00:54:56.500 in clear language
00:54:57.320 employee agrees
00:54:58.560 to not get Ebola.
00:55:00.660 Now what if
00:55:01.460 rather than sick
00:55:02.180 you suffer some kind
00:55:02.900 of gruesome accident?
00:55:03.940 What if on the way
00:55:04.460 to work
00:55:04.820 you get into a car wreck
00:55:05.820 and you somehow
00:55:06.260 impale yourself
00:55:07.200 on like a fence post
00:55:08.740 or something?
00:55:09.280 Well again
00:55:10.520 what part of yourself
00:55:11.720 did you impale?
00:55:12.700 It didn't impale
00:55:13.240 all of your limbs
00:55:14.060 did it?
00:55:15.560 I don't care
00:55:16.180 if you're a human
00:55:16.720 shish kebab
00:55:17.420 get to work
00:55:18.420 and even if you have
00:55:19.820 to go to the hospital
00:55:20.560 is there any reason
00:55:21.180 why you can't hop
00:55:21.980 on a zoom call
00:55:22.620 on your way there
00:55:23.300 so you don't miss
00:55:24.440 the 10 o'clock meeting?
00:55:27.160 So I'm pretty
00:55:29.140 reasonable about this
00:55:29.940 I think
00:55:30.360 and along with
00:55:32.220 being reasonable
00:55:32.860 I'm also again
00:55:33.940 entirely serious
00:55:35.260 about everything
00:55:36.140 I'm saying
00:55:36.900 or have ever said
00:55:37.920 in my entire life
00:55:39.140 ever
00:55:39.560 and most of all
00:55:42.920 you should listen
00:55:43.540 to me about this
00:55:44.460 because I know
00:55:45.880 about work
00:55:46.460 I'm a podcaster
00:55:47.620 and I'm also serious
00:55:50.780 when I say
00:55:51.420 that anyone
00:55:51.960 who has ever
00:55:52.660 taken a sick day
00:55:53.520 for any reason
00:55:54.600 at all
00:55:55.280 ever
00:55:55.880 is today
00:55:58.080 cancelled
00:55:59.060 and should frankly
00:56:01.300 be thrown in prison
00:56:02.200 if not
00:56:04.840 executed
00:56:06.060 okay
00:56:07.240 that'll do it
00:56:07.940 for the show today
00:56:08.380 thanks for watching
00:56:09.040 thanks for listening
00:56:09.720 talk to you on Monday
00:56:11.720 godspeed
00:56:12.940 Republicans or Nazis
00:56:21.080 you cannot separate
00:56:22.700 yourselves
00:56:23.200 from the bad
00:56:24.000 white people
00:56:24.740 growing up
00:56:25.460 I never thought much
00:56:26.240 about race
00:56:26.840 never really seemed
00:56:27.700 to matter that much
00:56:28.720 at least not to me
00:56:29.520 am I racist
00:56:30.680 I would really appreciate
00:56:31.600 it if you love
00:56:32.200 I'm trying to learn
00:56:32.720 along this journey
00:56:33.460 I'm gonna sort this out
00:56:35.100 I need to go deeper
00:56:36.160 undercover
00:56:36.700 joining us now
00:56:40.440 is Matt
00:56:40.980 certified DEI expert
00:56:43.160 here's my certifications
00:56:44.080 what you're doing
00:56:44.860 is you're stretching
00:56:45.540 out of your whiteness
00:56:47.020 this is more for you
00:56:47.720 than this for you
00:56:48.100 is America inherently racist
00:56:49.640 the word inherent
00:56:50.640 is challenging there
00:56:51.660 I'm gonna rename
00:56:52.180 the George Washington
00:56:52.840 monument
00:56:53.160 to the George Floyd
00:56:54.120 monument
00:56:54.520 America is racist
00:56:55.640 to its bones
00:56:56.460 so inherently
00:56:57.280 yeah
00:56:57.720 this country is a piece
00:56:58.720 white folks
00:57:01.600 white trash
00:57:02.100 white supremacy
00:57:02.840 white woman
