The Megyn Kelly Show - Biden's Doomed Electric Car Push, and Bud Light's Woke Backlash, with Eric Bolling, Andrew Klavan, and Dr. Marilyn Singleton ｜ Ep. 528

00:00:00.500 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show, your home for open, honest, and provocative conversations.

00:00:11.860 Hey everyone, I'm Megyn Kelly. Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show and happy Thursday.

00:00:16.260 Ahead, we are taking an in-depth look at how the left's obsession with race is now affecting the medical field and our doctors overall.

00:00:25.440 Hmm, what could possibly go wrong?

00:00:27.580 We're going to speak with Dr. Marilyn Singleton.

00:00:30.100 She was told to attend implicit bias training where people are taught all about the ways in which they are secretly racist, but perhaps don't realize it.

00:00:38.400 By the way, the studies have shown that these trainings actually can bring out latent racism that never would have manifested if they had just left these people alone.

00:00:46.540 She was told if she didn't do it, she could not renew her medical license.

00:00:51.440 Decades of experience didn't matter. Neither did her race. 0.95

00:00:53.900 She's black. She had to go. She, too, might be biased, as it turns out, against herself. 0.97

00:00:58.800 She's here to talk about her plan to fight back against this craziness.

00:01:03.440 And we will also be joined shortly by our pal Andrew Clavin.

00:01:06.860 There is breaking news in the case of those two Tennessee lawmakers who have been completely lionized by the left wing.

00:01:13.320 Wait until you hear what one of them was doing in the post-George Floyd summer of 2020.

00:01:18.860 First, however, the Biden administration unveiling a new plan to save the planet by outlawing your gas-powered car.

00:01:27.280 Even some progressives are now freaking out and joining us now to discuss it.

00:01:31.380 My friend Eric Bolling, host of Eric Bolling, The Balance.

00:01:35.380 Eric Bolling's The Balance.

00:01:37.040 On Newsmax, Eric, great to have you here.

00:01:39.060 So let's talk about this plan.

00:01:41.020 So it's basically he's doing through the EPA what he could not otherwise do.

00:01:45.860 And he is saying that by 20, 20, 20, 32, in basically 10 years, we're going to have new standards imposed on us by the EPA that will essentially require at least half cars, maybe up to two thirds of vehicles to be electric.

00:02:01.820 And we're going to have to get rid of our gas-powered cars because of the emission standards that they're going to hand down on these makers.

00:02:07.960 The White House defensive plan is saying it will save Americans over the life of the ownership of their new electric vehicles over $12,000.

00:02:16.500 So you're welcome.

00:02:18.000 What do you make of it?

00:02:19.760 All lies.

00:02:20.540 Great to be back with you, Megan.

00:02:21.700 All lies.

00:02:22.820 I mean, let's start with how much it's going to save.

00:02:25.280 First of all, an electric vehicle costs a lot more than a comparable gas combustion vehicle.

00:02:30.100 Second of all, these batteries in these cars, they're not perfect.

00:02:34.300 They don't last the life of the car the way a car of combustion engine will last the life of the car.

00:02:39.520 You're likely to have the seats fall apart before the engine falls apart.

00:02:42.600 Sure, there's repairs that need to be made.

00:02:45.140 But when a battery life, you know, hits somewhere 50,000, 60,000 miles, you have to replace those batteries.

00:02:52.580 That can cost $20,000, $30,000.

00:02:54.660 They don't factor that in, I'm sure, in their equation.

00:02:56.680 And it's insane how, and let's be very clear about something.

00:03:02.640 If you were, if they were to achieve all those goals, remember Barack Obama had his goals by whatever it was, 2020, 2025, we're going to have a fully electrified fleet of American vehicles.

00:03:15.340 That never happened, didn't come close.

00:03:17.400 It'll get there.

00:03:18.280 But if you were to electrify 50, 60, 70% of the U.S. auto fleet, the electric grid would not be existent.

00:03:27.240 We would never be able to do that.

00:03:28.620 We could never fuel up or power up that many vehicles.

00:03:32.220 It was not ready for it.

00:03:33.780 We can barely keep the lights on in the summer when it's hot in our major cities.

00:03:37.520 Now add four, 300 million vehicles, 350 million vehicles.

00:03:43.940 They're out of their mind.

00:03:45.540 Let it happen.

00:03:46.380 Let it progress.

00:03:47.340 Let buckies down here in Florida put electric chargers and, you know, substantial electric chargers as they build, but don't mandate them to have 80% of their fueling positions to be electric instead of gas.

00:03:59.940 And one more, boy, the fuel industry, the energy industry, the carbon, hydrocarbon industry provides 9 million very high-paying jobs to the American economy.

00:04:12.680 You're not going to get that with the electric.

00:04:14.820 You know, you're going to replace 9 million high-paying jobs.

00:04:17.720 They don't think any of this through, just like Jean-Pierre, Corinne Jean-Pierre yesterday said, oh, President Biden has answered far more questions than President Trump or President Obama.

00:04:27.420 That's another blatant, bold-faced lie.

00:04:29.140 They just lie.

00:04:30.200 Shouted questions.

00:04:31.040 Shouted questions.

00:04:32.040 She wants him to get credit for deigning to respond when someone yells something at him.

00:04:37.700 Right, right, right.

00:04:39.260 That's their interpretation.

00:04:41.540 You know, I mean, fact-checkers show that he's far behind Trump, Obama, even Bill Clinton and George Bush, far behind, but somehow they're going to twist it.

00:04:50.480 You know, there's liberal words.

00:04:51.960 You know, we're going to say them.

00:04:52.840 We're going to keep saying them.

00:04:53.580 You're going to believe them or you're a bigot or you're something or racist or whatever.

00:04:58.040 But, you know, the smart Americans know better.

00:05:01.280 On the subject of the electric vehicles, so they're forcing them on us.

00:05:04.080 You know, if the market wanted more of these, the market would get more of these.

00:05:08.140 It's something like 5%, 7% of all cars are EVs.

00:05:11.640 2% of heavy trucks are EVs.

00:05:15.100 The market is not wanting these because they can't get you coast to coast.

00:05:18.780 You've got to stop.

00:05:19.600 You've got to plug in somewhere.

00:05:20.800 There aren't anywhere near enough charging stations for this plan that the Biden administration is unveiling, not to mention where we're going to get the batteries from.

00:05:30.020 Right now we're dependent on China, so this is a big boon to them and not to us.

00:05:34.000 So the plan seems very sketchy.

00:05:37.100 Can I throw you another one?

00:05:39.160 Yeah.

00:05:39.360 There's another thing that no one's really talking about right now.

00:05:41.620 If we were to electrify the vehicles, the whole fleet, we would be massively dependent on chips, on computer chips, on silicon chips.

00:05:50.440 And those, 90% of those are produced in Taiwan right now.

00:05:54.540 We don't have, there's almost a shortage of them right now.

00:05:56.800 If you're going to switch over the whole fleet into a vehicle that requires far more chips than the gas engine, we're going to be more dependent on Taiwan. 0.80

00:06:04.700 If China takes Taiwan, let me tell you something, China is playing the long game.

00:06:09.860 They're playing 4D chess and we're barely getting their checkers on the board.

00:06:14.180 That's a good point.

00:06:15.300 And, you know, it's, well, it's really scary because this is a great thing for China. 1.00

00:06:20.260 It's not such a great thing for us.

00:06:21.900 And while we're working so very hard to lower our emissions, what is China doing?

00:06:28.020 Speaking of China, we're number two in the world when it comes to emissions.

00:06:31.960 Guess who's number one?

00:06:32.840 Beijing is capital of that place.

00:06:37.880 So they're not doing anything, right?

00:06:39.600 We're going to, we're supposed to give up our gas powered cars.

00:06:42.840 Well, they're going to do whatever they want and cash the checks.

00:06:45.400 Pollution is fungible.

00:06:46.580 It goes around the world.

00:06:49.160 So it doesn't matter where you produce it.

00:06:51.160 It matters, you know, how much you produce.

00:06:54.420 We will produce more, more pollution by electrifying the whole fleet of American vehicles of the global

00:07:01.160 vehicles immediately because there's the only way our electric grid will be able to supply

00:07:05.920 even a portion of what they hope to be able to get us to is to burn a ton, a gazillion tons of more coal.

00:07:13.680 Coal is what fires about 40% of U.S. power plants right now.

00:07:17.680 So you're going to burn a shit ton of coal, sorry, to produce the electricity to power up even maybe 10 or 15% more electric vehicles.

00:07:28.540 They want 80% more electric vehicles.

00:07:30.700 You're going to have to power up every single coal-fired power plant that Barack Obama shut down.

00:07:36.140 You have to repower them up with coal.

00:07:37.360 And coal is the dirtiest of the burning carbon fuel.

00:07:43.200 It's unbelievable.

00:07:44.860 It's like they haven't thought it through.

00:07:46.120 They just want to look like they had a win.

00:07:48.760 They're going to deprive the American consumer of what they want.

00:07:51.160 They're going to help China.

00:07:52.320 And they're going to produce more fossil fuel burning, but thanks to the coal.

00:07:56.160 So this is really just sort of some sort of weird head fake where they just want to make themselves look good while they ride in their private jets.

00:08:02.540 You know, you're going to lose your gas-powered car and I'm going to lose mine.

00:08:04.920 But John Kerry is still going to be jetting from place to place on his private jet, and so is Bill Gates and all the others meeting in Davos without one word of apology.

00:08:13.320 Then they want to tell us, oh, you know, somehow I managed to make it even, you know, these sort of credits. 0.99

00:08:19.000 Bullshit. 0.99

00:08:19.740 You burned more fossil fuels in your one trip to get over to Davos than I'll burn in my lifetime. 1.00

00:08:25.180 So spare me.

00:08:26.560 So you and I have to get on electric vehicles.

00:08:30.900 They're flying in high-powered jets with jet fuel, which is not electric.

00:08:37.060 No one would get into an airplane if it was powered by a battery, electric, battery, solar.

00:08:41.580 But they also want to take your guns, but they're powered up with guns and all their security details.

00:08:47.500 It's hypocrisy. 0.96

00:08:48.660 They want control, and they're the total, complete hypocrites around what is its rules for thee and rules for me. 0.96

00:08:56.160 So here's the great piece of this.

00:08:58.360 A lot of these emissions rules, when it comes to cars in particular, originate in California.

00:09:03.300 That's the little experimental den for these kinds of things.

00:09:06.020 And a lot of states have trigger laws where we just follow what California is doing.

00:09:10.140 That's separate from what the EPA is doing to us now on the federal level.

00:09:13.520 But California might be a good place to start.

00:09:15.860 Like, let's look at what's happening out there with their EVs and how it's going.

00:09:19.120 Well, very interesting moment with this woman who co-hosts The Young Turks.

00:09:25.360 Her name is Anna Kasparian, and I think she's in California, but she's complaining about people like Gavin Newsom, and she is talking about California.

00:09:36.060 So at least she either lives there or has knowledge about it.

00:09:39.160 She had a light bulb moment, Eric, when this push for green energy came into her life in a very personal way, where she was talking about how her condo board decided to go into significant debt to pay for charging stations for all the electric vehicles.

00:09:57.520 Well, if the condo board does that, guess who is paying for that?

00:10:00.320 The people who live inside of that building.

00:10:02.400 And she's not happy about it.

00:10:04.020 And she had this incredible exchange with her co-host that's gone very viral for obvious reasons.

00:10:09.680 Listen to some of it.

00:10:11.640 The way that it happens is I know that in California, at least, with the phasing out of gas-powered cars, and they'll probably do the same thing with gas stoves, is they just ban the sale of any new gas-powered cars or any new gas stoves.

00:10:30.020 I get it, but that's the normal bumps in the road.

00:10:33.280 Don't minimize the financial burdens associated with these things, okay?

00:10:36.740 Because I am literally freaking the fuck out about the charging station thing. 0.98

00:10:41.580 We're going to take out a massive fucking loan to pay for it. 0.99

00:10:44.700 We're not getting any help from the fucking government on that. 0.99

00:10:47.820 Did you guys ask, is there any tax credits? 0.98

00:10:51.300 But seriously, can you guys- 0.97

00:10:53.100 I don't give a fuck about tax credits. 0.83

00:10:54.880 I want to do something in response to climate change. 0.94

00:10:57.560 That is not my issue here.

00:10:59.240 My issue is how we're forced to make all these changes that are a financial burden, a giant inconvenience, with little to no help.

00:11:08.540 And I don't want the tax credits.

00:11:09.840 Give me the money.

00:11:11.660 You give me the money, okay? 1.00

00:11:14.120 Don't tell me this bullshit about how I have to buy some new fucking thing, because the government's forcing me to do it. 0.99

00:11:20.100 And then after I file my taxes, there's a certain portion of that purchase that might be tax deductible. 1.00

00:11:27.940 Like, fuck off. 1.00

00:11:28.700 I hear you, I'm so sick of it. 1.00

00:11:31.120 It's just like, mmm, like endless pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure. 1.00

00:11:35.480 The middle class is the most fucked group of people in this country. 1.00

00:11:38.480 But at some point, we got to go to electric cars. 0.99

00:11:41.780 We don't have a choice.

00:11:43.200 Like, the plant's burning.

00:11:44.120 It's got a bit of a potty mouth. 0.99

00:11:49.340 You know, it's funny watching two socialists, or two socialists, one of them is starting to see the light that socialism sucks, and the climate hoax, and the climate terrorists are doing things that have nothing to do with economics. 0.76

00:12:03.300 And it's funny to watch, and by the way, the two of them together maybe break 100 on an IQ.

00:12:08.680 I'm not sure, maybe, come close.

00:12:11.280 But Kasper, again, once it affects her, oh, all the things that they're peddling for all of America, that was such a great idea.

00:12:20.760 The AOC has been jamming down people's throats.

00:12:23.740 Bernie Sanders has been pushing every which way.

00:12:25.860 Joe Biden has been hat-tipping a trillion and a half dollars to the climate terrorists to give them to – for what?

00:12:35.680 For votes?

00:12:36.500 Okay, fine.

00:12:37.240 But finally, when it affects their own wallet, suddenly they start coming around.

00:12:42.520 It's like young people in college.

00:12:44.540 They're liberal as the day is long.

00:12:46.380 They're practically communists themselves until they start making some money, and they've got to pay taxes.

00:12:51.580 And they go, wait a minute, I'm not sure I like paying 50% of what I make to the government anymore. 0.93

00:12:56.040 Well, jackasses, this is what you've been peddling for the last 15 years of your life. 0.96

00:13:01.400 I'm sorry. 0.99

00:13:02.040 Wake up.

00:13:02.460 It's amazing to see her realize the consequences of the policies that she has in the past supported.

00:13:09.160 Like, this is how it's going to go.

00:13:10.960 You know, you're going to have to pay $70,000 for an electric vehicle instead of $30,000 or $40,000 for a gas part.

00:13:16.900 And then you're going to have to pay your condo board for the charging stations and all the other things we discussed.

00:13:22.020 Did you hear the other communists, the other St. Koyger? 0.85

00:13:24.740 Did you hear what he said?

00:13:25.400 Oh, did you ask the government for some help?

00:13:27.380 That's what they want.

00:13:28.500 That's what this is all about.

00:13:29.900 Liberals in government want you asking, begging them.

00:13:33.040 Please, sir, may I have another? 0.97

00:13:34.600 Please, sir, can you help me charge my own freaking vehicle? 0.76

00:13:38.540 This is exactly what they want. 0.92

00:13:40.760 Government wants you dependent on them. 1.00

00:13:43.860 And so foot soldiers, useful idiots like those two, are using Biden and AOC and Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama's words and ideas until it affects them, until they realize it. 0.99

00:13:59.400 And then when they do get affected, let's run back to government and say, please help us pay for those charging stations. 1.00

00:14:04.860 Yeah, right.

00:14:06.000 Right.

00:14:06.280 We're paying for it again.

00:14:07.100 And that's us.

00:14:07.680 That's still us paying.

00:14:08.540 Um, let's switch gears and talk about what's happening to Bud Light, because as a economics guy, you can explain to me what this means that they've lost.

00:14:16.700 I mean, I've seen different reports between six and eight billion dollars in market capitalization from the time this partnership with trans person Dylan Mulvaney was announced there.

00:14:27.860 It seems like a bloodbath for Bud Light.

00:14:30.440 I mean, anecdotally, there have been reports about the number of beer distributors complaining that people are turning off the sales, bars and pubs and, you know, groups that get together for sporting events and so on, saying no more.

00:14:41.520 We're not buying it.

00:14:42.960 You know, America's turning off the spigot when it comes to Bud Light. 1.00

00:14:46.520 But what does that mean that its stock price, I guess, has gone down between six and eight billion dollars in like a week, two weeks?

00:14:54.640 Since March 31st, I think is when, either when the campaign, the branding campaign went live, March 30th or 31st.

00:15:06.680 Market cap means how many shares outstanding times the price of the share and shares have slid in a market by the way that's going up.

00:15:13.880 The S&P is up in that same period of time.

00:15:16.160 Then the NASDAQ is up.

00:15:18.180 The Dow Jones is up in that period of time since March 31st.

00:15:20.640 A.B. Anheuser-Busch has dropped eight, seven billion, let's be real, seven billion dollars in market cap.

00:15:29.500 And that's a big, that's a big drop.

00:15:31.500 And it has to be attributed to it.

00:15:32.860 If you look at the chart, the chart, I watch the chart every day.

00:15:35.640 It's been, it was up and down, up and down, but it's fairly steady.

00:15:38.600 On that day, when the backlash started to happen, people started selling shares in that stock.

00:15:45.060 No question about it, they were concerned about the imminent backlash, which actually has arrived.

00:15:53.720 And then when that vice president, I guess the person who had this idea to put Dylan Mulvaney as their brand ambassador on.

00:16:01.620 When the video emerged of her, now it happened, the video came of her was prior to the Dylan debut.

00:16:09.740 But when she was talking about Bud Light being a fratty brand, well, hell yeah, it's a fratty brand.

00:16:16.520 Guess who your main customers are?

00:16:19.400 Frat houses and people who wish they were still in the frat house.

00:16:22.880 And you alienate your base to have some sort of diversity, I don't know, cred.

00:16:28.740 And it's insane.

00:16:30.020 So yeah, eight, seven or $8 billion of market cap in a market that has been going up.

00:16:35.160 And by the way, it's not, it's not all beers.

00:16:39.340 Miller Light is owned by Molson Coors.

00:16:42.520 Their market cap has gone up by about a billion dollars.

00:16:45.540 So it's so interesting because like, this is not something you can get back, right?

00:16:49.660 So it's like, I really want to buy my Bud Light, but I'm just going to punish them for a month.

00:16:53.520 And then I'm going to buy two times the Bud Light in June just to make it up, right?

00:16:57.760 No, the months are gone.

00:16:59.760 The opportunity to drink the Bud Light has passed.

00:17:02.000 So even if there's some way of these guys repairing the relationship with their customer

00:17:05.380 base, those sales, because this is separate from the market cap, the sales are gone.

00:17:10.640 The bottom line is being hurt day after day, and it's not going to get any better.

00:17:14.860 You're right.

00:17:15.740 You're right.

00:17:16.440 Sales, eventually, you will see in the next quarter, in the next maybe, you know, whatever,

00:17:20.180 45 days, you'll see the slide in sales.

00:17:22.580 And that'll put further pressure on the stock price.

00:17:24.500 Absolutely for sure.

00:17:25.460 So the smart investors, the big money, the hedge funds who know what's going on when

00:17:29.940 they see these things happen, they get out first.

00:17:31.900 That drives the price down.

00:17:33.840 When the earnings come out, then the retail investors start saying, wait a minute, that

00:17:38.880 doesn't look going forward.

00:17:40.120 It'll put more pressure on the stock.

00:17:41.620 I wouldn't buy, I would not buy Anheuser-Busch stock right now, no matter what they say.

00:17:46.560 Even if they say, we're just kidding about Dylan Mulvaney, we're still fratty.

00:17:51.200 I would still wouldn't buy that stock.

00:17:52.560 We're still just as fratty as ever.

00:17:54.640 They went from fratty to caddy.

00:17:57.340 So what do you think?

00:17:59.400 I mean, do you think that this is a potential watershed moment in this whole go woke, go

00:18:04.500 broke discussion?

00:18:06.360 You know, could other companies be watching this?

00:18:08.900 Yeah, I think they all are.

00:18:09.960 I don't think they, I'm not sure they care because we saw the same thing happen with

00:18:15.700 Major League Baseball a couple of years ago with the All-Star Game.

00:18:18.400 They continue, you know, Disney fighting Ron DeSantis down here in Florida, and yet these

00:18:23.760 things still happen.

00:18:24.780 They're still, and I've said this, I've pinpointed this, that it's the corporate boardroom that

00:18:28.920 will tell us when the pendulum has swung too far in the direction in favor of diversity.

00:18:34.240 I thought it was a year ago.

00:18:35.520 I was wrong.

00:18:36.160 It looks like it's continuing now.

00:18:38.040 Maybe this is it.

00:18:38.940 So when celebrities like Kid Rock and others start to, you know, go public with their distaste

00:18:44.660 for, for a brand or what they're, or the, I'm sorry, the brand messaging, then it starts

00:18:49.880 to move in the, it's not until the boardroom though.

00:18:52.080 It's the boardroom for some reason on these corporate boards, they are so concerned about

00:18:58.000 the diversity card.

00:18:59.580 The, you know, there's, there's this thing called the CEI, the corporate, um, equality

00:19:05.500 index, corporate equity index.

00:19:07.840 And it's something that these liberals push around wall street saying, Hey, what's your

00:19:12.200 index?

00:19:12.640 What, where are you?

00:19:13.720 And if it's too low, well, you're not diverse enough.

00:19:16.460 You're not doing your part.

00:19:17.540 And for some reason, boardrooms who should only be concerned about share prices, stockholder

00:19:24.100 value, shareholder value, share prices, the only concern a board should have is somehow

00:19:29.520 now getting into, let's find out what the environments, uh, ESG stuff, which is environment,

00:19:35.160 social and governance, which is another index.

00:19:38.120 They worry about these things in there. 1.00

00:19:39.820 They're, they're, they're foolish to do it. 1.00

00:19:41.500 I, I think we're going to look back 20 years from now and look back and go, what a stupid 1.00

00:19:46.800 time that was. 1.00

00:19:48.000 I hope, I hope you're right.

00:19:49.320 I hope we're not further immersed.

00:19:50.740 Let's switch gears and talk politics right now because Joe Biden is over in Ireland and,

00:19:56.040 um, already like several gaffes.

00:19:58.720 I can't even, I can't, I can't even, I don't know.

00:20:02.460 He made some gaffe about, I have no idea.

00:20:04.780 I can't like some football team and he confused it with, uh, he thought he was always calling

00:20:09.540 a soccer, a football team.

00:20:10.940 Uh, he called them black and tan and that's a, that's a violent military.

00:20:15.120 Okay.

00:20:15.640 So there was that.

00:20:16.800 Then he made this false claim, which he's made repeatedly.

00:20:20.800 It's not true.

00:20:21.720 It's not even potentially true.

00:20:23.380 He's been given the three Pinocchios even by the left leaning press on it.

00:20:27.180 But once again, here he is talking about his good buddy, uh, Xi Jinping in China.

00:20:32.160 It's up to.

00:20:34.000 As I was at Xi Jinping, I've spent more time with him than any world leader has over the

00:20:37.960 last 10 years.

00:20:39.000 And I was in the Tibetan plateau with him.

00:20:40.780 I traveled 70,000 miles in China over 10 years.

00:20:44.200 Not true.

00:20:46.520 And actually what they're saying where he gets the 17,000 miles, Eric, they're saying

00:20:49.820 he's counting like his airplane trips over to China and she's airplane trips are like,

00:20:56.820 what does he see?

00:20:57.620 Just is disconnected from the truth.

00:20:59.380 I remember when he said he was, he walked the bridge in Selma.

00:21:04.760 Then he said he, he got arrested with Nelson Mandela.

00:21:08.720 And then they had the fact, the fact checkers called him out and they corrected with him.

00:21:13.560 Well, he was, uh, metaphorically walking with the people in Selma.

00:21:18.920 He was spiritually, spiritually getting arrested with Nelson Mandela.

00:21:23.900 He's a, he's a, he's, he, he is a, uh, he's slipping. 0.99

00:21:28.200 He's always been a pathological liar. 0.98

00:21:30.380 Remember he, he had to bow out of a presidential campaign because he got caught plagiarizing his 0.99

00:21:35.360 speeches. 1.00

00:21:36.120 He's a pathological liar. 1.00

00:21:37.580 I mean, but, but he's getting even worse. 1.00

00:21:39.620 I don't even think the guy knows where he is.

00:21:41.840 So I don't know.

00:21:42.360 Well, here's the thing.

00:21:43.120 So I don't know if this is a lie or if this is just confusion.

00:21:45.240 I'm, I'm thinking this is just confusion, which is not, doesn't make me feel any better,

00:21:49.700 but here he is describing where, um, the oval office is, um, take a listen to SOT1.

00:21:57.000 As a matter of fact, as you walk into my office in the, in the oval office in the United States,

00:22:02.180 a Capitol.

00:22:04.740 No, try one more.

00:22:07.580 Try.

00:22:08.340 Well, there's not really in the top of the Capitol and it's not really oval.

00:22:11.800 Man, that is not where the oval is, sir.

00:22:17.340 The United States Capitol.

00:22:19.880 No, sir.

00:22:20.380 You're, you're in the oval office in the white.

00:22:22.180 By the way, you're president.

00:22:23.540 You're president, Joe.

00:22:25.640 And the thing is that, that they're thinking about running this guy again.

00:22:30.040 Yeah.

00:22:30.480 He says he told the Easter bunny, or I mean, Al Roker, but he, he's going to run, but he

00:22:35.200 doesn't want to announce it.

00:22:37.140 Well, another highlight.

00:22:38.740 Another highlight from his trip where, um, okay.

00:22:43.980 He's, he's talking to a little boy.

00:22:46.280 The child asks him a question, um, saying something like, what's the secret to success

00:22:51.620 or the top step to success.

00:22:53.220 It doesn't go very well.

00:22:54.500 And I kid you not, he gets runtered.

00:22:56.640 He gets runtered.

00:22:57.680 He gets helped by his son Hunter because it was bring your child to work day, I guess,

00:23:02.840 in the Biden white house.

00:23:03.740 And he chose Hunter Hunter steps in to try to rescue him.

00:23:07.020 Here it is.

00:23:08.740 What's your question?

00:23:10.120 Uh, this is the top step to success.

00:23:13.060 What's the top what?

00:23:14.200 7, 10, 10, 10.

00:23:16.660 What's the top step to success?

00:23:20.240 We're making sure that we don't all have COVID.

00:23:23.380 What are we talking about?

00:23:25.560 As to success.

00:23:26.740 Like, what's the, what's the, what's the key to success?

00:23:29.900 What's the key to success?

00:23:31.700 Whenever you disagree with someone, it's okay to question their judgment, whether they're

00:23:39.280 right or wrong, but it's never okay to question their motive.

00:23:45.020 Okay.

00:23:45.640 First of all, he does not live by that practice.

00:23:47.800 But second of all, this, he can't even handle the children and the questions being fired

00:23:52.940 at him.

00:23:53.180 I'm sure maybe you couldn't hear, maybe they're not.

00:23:55.300 But the point is, he's not going to age in reverse as we go forward on this presidential

00:24:00.140 path.

00:24:00.800 He, as you know, would be 86 if he gets a second term by the end of it.

00:24:04.700 So, you know, you see these moments, Eric, and we laugh about them, but are they actual

00:24:09.640 cause for concern?

00:24:11.220 Yeah.

00:24:11.680 So his first question was, what are the steps to success?

00:24:15.380 He repeats it and he has nowhere to go.

00:24:18.200 So his cognitive decline is so profound.

00:24:22.100 His first thought brain cells enacted were COVID.

00:24:27.720 COVID?

00:24:28.620 Yes, he did.

00:24:29.860 He did.

00:24:30.860 COVID?

00:24:31.300 So maybe he just went back to, I don't know, campaign in 20, well, I don't know, 2019,

00:24:38.300 whatever moment he had that, that question may have been asked.

00:24:41.480 And then the rambling answer, he was going, he was going down rabbit holes.

00:24:45.740 People are kind of looking around, but that's why they won't let him go to any press conferences.

00:24:50.920 That's why they didn't want to put him out in front of the press.

00:24:53.360 He'll, he'll, he'll embarrass himself even further.

00:24:56.220 But I, and by the way, that, that bringing Hunter to Ireland, that's funded by you and

00:25:01.320 me, taxpayers.

00:25:02.720 Yeah.

00:25:02.960 I'm sure he's trying to strike another business deal for, you know, of which the big guy will

00:25:06.780 get 10% right now.

00:25:07.940 He's like, haven't we learned our lesson about taking Hunter with us on our business trips,

00:25:11.880 whether it's to China, Ireland, or anywhere else?

00:25:15.020 Hunter needs to go back to the Joe Biden COVID basement.

00:25:17.780 And he's right.

00:25:18.220 That was a top set step to success for Joe Biden's presidential aspirations last time.

00:25:22.720 Well, that's where, that's where Hunter needs to be.

00:25:25.140 Hunter needs not to be on display.

00:25:26.940 Somebody else can translate the children's questions to the sitting U.S. president.

00:25:31.840 Such a pleasure to see you, my friend.

00:25:33.500 Please come back.

00:25:35.700 Anytime, Megan.

00:25:36.420 I love being on the show.

00:25:37.560 I love you.

00:25:37.880 She's doing great.

00:25:38.500 It's awesome to be here.

00:25:39.940 Likewise.

00:25:40.520 All right.

00:25:40.740 See you soon.

00:25:41.360 When we come back, Andrew Klavan is with me and I will tell you what now we are learning.

00:25:45.620 Bud Light is saying to the Daily Wire about how things went so wrong and how it plans to

00:25:51.360 change things.

00:25:52.720 And that breaking news I told you about one of those two Tennessee lawmakers, this guy

00:25:57.260 who's been lionized by the left.

00:25:59.100 Mm hmm.

00:25:59.800 We'll see.

00:26:01.280 It wasn't about the three of these leaders.

00:26:05.320 It was about who they were representing.

00:26:07.320 It's about whose voices they were channeling.

00:26:12.920 Understand that.

00:26:14.260 And is that not what a democracy allows?

00:26:18.380 A democracy says you don't silence the people.

00:26:21.960 You do not stifle the people.

00:26:23.840 You don't turn off their microphones when they are speaking about the importance of life and

00:26:30.560 liberty.

00:26:30.980 Do you assault them in the head with a traffic cone?

00:26:34.360 Do you throw liquid in the face of a statehouse speaker?

00:26:38.820 Is that what you do?

00:26:40.260 Because that's your hero, Madam Vice President.

00:26:43.360 Welcome back to The Megyn Kelly Show.

00:26:44.880 That was Vice President Kamala Harris lionizing the so-called Tennessee Three last week. 1.00

00:26:49.900 The rabble rousers who decided to disrupt the people's proceedings on the state of the 0.97

00:26:55.440 Tennessee, on the floor of the Tennessee Statehouse because they didn't get their way.

00:26:59.880 They were heard.

00:27:00.960 Their arguments were offered.

00:27:02.540 They were rejected.

00:27:03.960 They lost.

00:27:05.200 Take the L.

00:27:06.320 No.

00:27:06.740 Instead, they smuggled on a bullhorn onto the state house floor and hijacked the proceedings

00:27:13.740 and riled up the protesters who were up in the balcony and decided to shout down every

00:27:18.920 other lawmaker there who also had constituents who had interests in what to do in the wake of 0.99

00:27:24.060 a school shooting.

00:27:25.080 Interests like, how do we fortify the schools? 0.99

00:27:27.660 Shut up, you who want to make it about yourselves. 0.95

00:27:30.260 This is a pattern with these two guys. 1.00

00:27:33.600 And let us talk so we can talk about how to protect children instead of your ridiculous

00:27:38.440 gun reform, which we'll never get through thanks to the Second Amendment. 0.53

00:27:43.460 It's just so absurd what the media does, what the left does.

00:27:47.540 The vice president, the liberal media cannot get enough of these two expelled Tennessee

00:27:51.720 lawmakers.

00:27:52.900 Of course, they claim racism because the two black guys got expelled.

00:27:56.040 The one white woman didn't. 1.00

00:27:57.040 That's because of the white white, the one white woman, she's now claiming racism, but 1.00

00:28:00.660 she was the one who said, I didn't go as far as they did.

00:28:02.620 I didn't bring a bullhorn.

00:28:03.860 She convinced people. 0.81

00:28:04.920 She turned around and said, you're all racists there. 1.00

00:28:08.320 The press is going as far to even analyze the apparent power of their clothing choices.

00:28:14.220 Yes, you go, guys.

00:28:16.220 You go.

00:28:17.560 However, new video just emerging of one of the so-called Tennessee three, and that's

00:28:22.820 representative Justin Jones.

00:28:24.780 We brought you Justin Pearson yesterday.

00:28:26.420 He's the one who was Barack Obama, you know, and I would really like to run for student

00:28:31.140 Senate in 2016.

00:28:32.580 And now it was like, and my mother, mother God.

00:28:35.180 Okay, sure.

00:28:36.580 Well, now Justin Jones, this video is from June of 2023.

00:28:41.040 We're going to show it to you.

00:28:41.980 Check out the YouTube page if you're listening at the height of the post George Floyd Black

00:28:45.960 Lives Matter protests.

00:28:47.080 In the video, Jones and other protesters are in front of the Tennessee Capitol.

00:28:51.700 They stop cars.

00:28:53.520 These are innocent people, and Jones can be seen tossing a traffic cone into a truck attempting

00:28:59.440 to hit the driver. 0.94

00:29:01.680 Why?

00:29:02.380 Why?

00:29:02.900 Why did he do that?

00:29:03.780 You know, it was happening in the summer of 2020.

00:29:05.280 They were stopping people at random, BLM protesters, trying to make you say BLM, Black Lives Matter,

00:29:11.020 or you couldn't finish your meal or you couldn't continue your drive down the road.

00:29:14.160 We don't know what was happening here.

00:29:15.760 That's just context from the time.

00:29:17.700 Sure, this posed absolutely no danger.

00:29:20.360 Sure.

00:29:21.000 But if that driver had a gun and unleashed it, I mean, many people would have considered

00:29:25.500 it.

00:29:25.880 Had you been stopped by these guys in the street for no reason at all and assaulted with a

00:29:29.840 traffic cone?

00:29:30.580 This is the left's hero now.

00:29:32.300 Okay.

00:29:32.740 Well, it was weird how I didn't read about that and all the profiles being done about

00:29:35.900 this guy.

00:29:37.140 Jones was then indicted on two counts of reckless endangerment for the incident.

00:29:40.760 But you won't be surprised to hear the charges were later dropped, as they were against virtually

00:29:45.940 all BLM protesters, half of whom are now getting payouts of their own for the allegedly

00:29:51.300 overzealous response by the cops who tried to keep order.

00:29:56.280 Joining me now, Andrew Klavan, screenwriter, bestselling author and host of The Andrew Klavan

00:30:01.800 Show.

00:30:02.980 Andrew, great to have you back.

00:30:04.360 So that's the hero.

00:30:05.420 That's the new hero of the left, right?

00:30:08.640 Representative Jones, heck of a job.

00:30:11.320 I'm so confused.

00:30:12.260 I'm so confused.

00:30:13.280 You know, I thought that when you stormed into a Capitol building, it was the worst thing

00:30:19.380 that could possibly happen since the Civil War.

00:30:21.640 I thought it was a reason to put people in prison without trial, to hunt them down and

00:30:25.180 make sure you had their cell phone numbers.

00:30:26.820 Here, we got them.

00:30:27.800 We actually have them in our clutches and expelled them from their offices as they deserved.

00:30:32.640 And now they're heroes.

00:30:34.200 I don't understand.

00:30:35.100 Next, I assume that the press is now going to make the QAnon shaman with his horns is 0.89

00:30:41.020 going to be their next hero since he did virtually the same thing.

00:30:45.120 You know, every story now almost is both the story and the way the press covers the story.

00:30:52.100 And beyond that, also not just the way the press covers the story, the way the corporations

00:30:56.320 react to the story.

00:30:58.180 You know, this is one of the most terrible tales actually in a long time.

00:31:02.440 This begins with a shooting in a Christian school where three nine-year-old children

00:31:07.900 were killed.

00:31:09.740 And the first thing the White House says is, you know, our hearts must go out to the trans

00:31:13.720 community because the killer was identified as transsexual.

00:31:19.180 And so right away, right away, the lives of these three children and three adult Christian

00:31:24.080 teachers or staff at the school were kind of eliminated.

00:31:28.640 They were just kind of thrown out of the story to make this about protecting transgender 0.62

00:31:33.260 people because the shooter, the killer was transgender.

00:31:37.080 So immediately we get to see that the values here are skewed.

00:31:41.140 Then, of course, like every shooting that can't be attributed to the right, if it's not a right

00:31:46.400 winger doing the shooting, then the issue is guns.

00:31:49.060 If it's a right winger doing the shooting, then the issue is conservatism and how evil it

00:31:52.680 is and how it leads to violence. 0.89

00:31:53.940 But if it's a left winger, transgender person, a gay person, a Muslim person, then the issue 0.88

00:31:58.560 is always guns. 0.88

00:32:00.000 And unfortunately, we on the right are never smart enough to remind people why we have gun

00:32:04.820 rights in the first place, because, you know, there is logic to the idea that if you banned

00:32:09.260 all guns, if you gave the state a monopoly on violence, the violence among the people

00:32:14.420 would become less.

00:32:16.240 I think that's probably true.

00:32:17.720 But we have guns here because we are a federalist country that believes in the freedom of the

00:32:21.920 people, and those guns are there to ensure that that freedom remains in place.

00:32:26.740 So we're never making the right argument.

00:32:28.420 So these guys then violate every rule of Robert's Rules of Order to disrupt the making of laws,

00:32:35.280 to push an anti-gun program, which, as you say, is against our Constitution.

00:32:40.800 And now they're the heroes, for some reason, beyond me.

00:32:44.320 And it's all about this corporate entity now that is both the deep state and the press and

00:32:52.160 the corporations who own the press, basically trying to win power over the ordinary American

00:32:58.740 human being, which is what this country was built for him and for her.

00:33:02.900 It was built for us to be the sovereigns over these people.

00:33:06.560 And yet they don't like it.

00:33:08.180 They've never liked it.

00:33:09.060 And they have been trying for 100 years to get that power back.

00:33:12.140 And now they have consolidated the academy, the media, the deep state, and the corporations

00:33:19.120 and the business world in a united attack against the rights of individual Americans, which

00:33:25.040 are, in the end, defended by guns.

00:33:27.820 I'm sure if you or I had a history of attacking citizens who were minding their own business,

00:33:36.300 stomping on police cars, which is another thing he was accused of, assaulting a police officer,

00:33:41.820 another thing he was accused of, I could go down the list, trespassing, assault, resisting

00:33:46.840 arrest, disrupting meetings, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, obstructive of a passageway,

00:33:51.360 aggravated litter.

00:33:51.980 I could keep going.

00:33:52.940 I'm sure if that were our history and then we stormed the Capitol to to protest our pro-life

00:34:00.100 beliefs, let's say.

00:34:01.040 OK, they'd be saying exactly the same things about us.

00:34:03.800 Here's just a couple of the headlines from the left right now about this guy and his colleagues.

00:34:08.960 The Tennessee Three were right. 0.99

00:34:11.120 Screw decorum.

00:34:12.320 It's time to rush the well.

00:34:13.960 Screw decorum.

00:34:15.440 Salon, again, Tennessee Three were right. 1.00

00:34:17.140 Screw decorum.

00:34:18.180 How the Tennessee Three turned the GOP's rebuke into a rallying cry.

00:34:22.820 And on and on we go.

00:34:23.720 They praised their history of breaking the status quo, even with clothing.

00:34:29.600 Andrew, that's from Vogue.

00:34:30.820 Um, OK, uh, I seem to recall James Carville after Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke out at the 0.99

00:34:39.680 State of the Union, uh, white trash. 1.00

00:34:41.940 He was saying she's white trash. 1.00

00:34:43.620 I was like, I don't help you understand the rules. 1.00

00:34:47.360 Well, it's civility, right?

00:34:48.640 It's the old it's the old Bill Clinton thing.

00:34:50.480 I was out of the country when this happened, so I got to see it from a distance.

00:34:54.280 You know, they they call us male chauvinist bigs.

00:34:57.020 They call us racist.

00:34:57.900 They call us sexist.

00:34:58.920 They call us everything.

00:34:59.820 But the minute anybody like Rush Limbaugh, for instance, strikes back, suddenly we're

00:35:04.100 where's the civility?

00:35:05.340 What's happened to civility in American life?

00:35:07.660 And so it really is, you know, it is a question of the of who is in the right.

00:35:13.320 They believe that they are so in the right that all the rule breaking, all the cheating,

00:35:17.880 all the lying is justified because their righteousness is so deep and so great.

00:35:22.640 And it runs, it runs through their every cell in their bodies, that the things that they

00:35:27.240 are fighting for can be defended by any means necessary as, as they in fact, a term they

00:35:32.820 in fact use.

00:35:34.460 Anything we do is wrong.

00:35:36.280 If we raise our voices, it's wrong.

00:35:38.080 If we snap back, it's wrong.

00:35:39.680 If we storm the Capitol, it's terribly, terribly wrong.

00:35:43.280 And we on our side actually have a different way of looking at things, which is, yes, it

00:35:48.240 might be wrong to storm the Capitol.

00:35:51.020 Even if your values are right, there are things that it is wrong to do.

00:35:55.180 It's wrong to curse at people.

00:35:56.380 It's wrong to take a traffic cone and smash it through the window of a car.

00:36:01.140 If a right winger did that, not only would the left gang up on him, but right wingers would

00:36:06.040 gang up on him.

00:36:06.940 Conservatives would say, yes, that is not how we perceive here.

00:36:09.960 So we have a very different way.

00:36:11.500 It goes right down to the core of our philosophy, which is basically the people are not all that 0.99

00:36:16.780 good.

00:36:17.200 All people are hungry for power.

00:36:18.900 They're envious.

00:36:19.500 They're mean. 0.99

00:36:20.360 They're dishonest. 0.99

00:36:21.280 All of them.

00:36:21.900 And they have to be controlled by systems that are put in place to preserve their freedoms,

00:36:25.520 but also to preserve the decorum and the way we go forward in our political lives.

00:36:31.640 The left believes its cause is so righteous that all those formed can be set aside.

00:36:36.740 Take a look at what happened to Clarence Thomas this week.

00:36:39.160 This absolute baloney story about a friend of his who takes him on occasional vacations,

00:36:44.520 which was completely within the realm of the ethics rules of the Supreme Court.

00:36:49.560 Suddenly now they're calling for Clarence Thomas to resign.

00:36:53.020 It has nothing to do with anything Clarence Thomas.

00:36:55.140 He did exactly 0% wrong.

00:36:57.940 What he did was 0% wrong.

00:36:59.720 And yet they're saying he should resign and he's a Nazi because this guy has a memorabilia

00:37:04.580 from both the Nazis and the communists.

00:37:06.400 His friend has this memorabilia.

00:37:08.460 They will fight in any way they can.

00:37:10.760 They literally have turned themselves into thugs because of their conviction that they are

00:37:16.420 righteous.

00:37:17.660 You have to know.

00:37:18.680 You have to know that you're not righteous.

00:37:20.220 You never were.

00:37:21.160 It's only our systems and our traditions and our decorum that actually preserve anything

00:37:26.480 good that we have.

00:37:27.520 Once you let that slip away, once you say you can take a traffic cone and slam it into

00:37:33.520 a car or step on top of a cop's car, which is another thing that he did because you're

00:37:38.360 just so righteous that those actions are validated, you lose everything.

00:37:43.720 You will lose your freedom.

00:37:44.820 You will lose your power.

00:37:45.860 And ultimately, you will lose any kind of sense of morality that you have.

00:37:49.540 And the left is seriously moved in that direction.

00:37:52.000 What does it say, Andrew, that let's take a look at the character of the two guys that are

00:37:55.620 now being lionized for hijacking this debate over what to do in the wake of a school shooting?

00:38:00.420 An important matter.

00:38:01.520 And I get that they have their deeply held beliefs about guns.

00:38:05.240 Fine.

00:38:05.680 There's a forum and there's a way of discussing them and there's a way of protesting in the

00:38:09.460 streets.

00:38:09.940 That's all very American.

00:38:11.320 Go for it.

00:38:12.060 What they did is something very different.

00:38:13.960 But what does it say about the left that they've chosen to make heroes out of these two

00:38:18.620 guys who, if you look at the history, so not only is this Justin Jones, does he have a

00:38:23.340 long history with the criminal law, but he his history makes clear his activism is about

00:38:30.600 promoting himself.

00:38:32.860 So there was a report about how this is according to the local blog Scoop Nashville back from

00:38:38.500 June 2021.

00:38:39.920 They're the ones who posted this video originally back then.

00:38:42.900 This is Justin Jones.

00:38:43.840 I'll get to Pearson Jones in a minute.

00:38:45.020 So Justin's the one with a criminal history, better known as Brother Jones locally.

00:38:48.700 Was one of the publicly visible, often by design, protesters at the state capitol.

00:38:54.020 He received a lot of pushback from his own community after it was discovered.

00:38:58.060 He was only making appearances when he knew there would be media coverage and eventually

00:39:02.500 had a falling out with one of the other most visible female members of the group.

00:39:07.100 He's also, as I said, accused of throwing a cup of liquid in the face of the X House speaker

00:39:11.760 down in Tennessee and other lawmakers while protesting the bust of a Confederate general

00:39:16.020 inside the statehouse and so on.

00:39:17.720 He was ultimately barred from contacting those lawmakers or visiting the legislative building

00:39:23.440 until April of 2020 and so on.

00:39:26.420 So that's this guy.

00:39:27.880 He he sees a camera and he gravitates toward it like a moth to the flame.

00:39:32.440 He sees a chance to make himself a hero for the BLM crowd by assaulting a cop, according 0.61

00:39:36.840 to the allegations, assaulting, assaulting a civilian just driving his car down the street.

00:39:40.900 And then there's his friend Pearson, Justin Pearson, whatever.

00:39:46.140 There's like lots of Justins, lots of Justins, Justin Jones and the Justin Pearson.

00:39:51.320 He's the one who was talking like a Barack Obama when he was running for the student Senate

00:39:55.200 back in 2016.

00:39:56.540 And here's just a little clip of how he looked and sounded at that point.

00:39:58.880 Hey, everybody, I'm Justin J. Pearson, and I'm running for president of BSG, dissenting voices,

00:40:04.880 voices that may be more liberal or more conservative in order that we can reach a point of sort of

00:40:09.840 the radical middle where conversation and dialogue happens and growth happens.

00:40:15.600 Nice.

00:40:15.980 OK, let's do it, Justin Pearson.

00:40:17.640 I'm with you.

00:40:18.320 That sounds like a great idea.

00:40:19.840 You seem like a man with a future ahead of him.

00:40:21.660 Well, here is a bit of that future.

00:40:23.720 Here he was yesterday.

00:40:26.120 They tried to expel the people's choice and the people's vote.

00:40:30.260 Yeah.

00:40:31.060 And they awakened a sleeping joy.

00:40:33.960 Yeah. 0.98

00:40:34.400 Guilty of white supremacy. 0.96

00:40:36.060 Yeah. 0.99

00:40:37.020 Guilty of patriarchy.

00:40:38.620 Yeah.

00:40:39.440 Guilty of supporting the NRA over people.

00:40:41.920 Yeah.

00:40:42.460 Guilty of attacking the poor.

00:40:44.140 Yeah.

00:40:44.720 Guilty of not expanding health care.

00:40:46.700 Yeah.

00:40:47.200 Guilty of not giving us educational resources.

00:40:49.520 Yeah.

00:40:50.200 Guilty.

00:40:50.680 Guilty.

00:40:51.480 Guilty.

00:40:52.320 Guilty.

00:40:53.220 I'm so glad.

00:40:54.440 Oh, I'm so glad.

00:40:56.420 Yes, I'm glad.

00:40:57.880 Can we just see video one?

00:40:59.040 We have to see video one one more time.

00:41:00.840 Let's just play video one more.

00:41:02.180 Yes.

00:41:03.180 Hey, everybody.

00:41:03.920 I'm Justin J. Pearson.

00:41:05.200 And I'm running for president of BSG.

00:41:07.380 OK.

00:41:07.780 Listen up.

00:41:09.000 It's unbelievable.

00:41:10.720 Andrew, he's a faker. 0.75

00:41:12.620 He's an actor.

00:41:14.180 This is all make believe.

00:41:16.440 And yet they're into it.

00:41:18.360 You go, guy.

00:41:19.660 We're with you.

00:41:21.020 Sure.

00:41:21.620 OK.

00:41:23.140 Well, it helps to be an actor if you're making a movie.

00:41:25.220 I mean, that's the thing, you know, with the press supporting you, with all of the press

00:41:28.920 supporting you.

00:41:29.920 It's it's all stagecraft.

00:41:31.720 It's all theater.

00:41:32.460 And whatever works, works.

00:41:33.440 You know, I have a hard time convincing conservatives of this, but all of this depends on ideas.

00:41:39.220 It actually doesn't depend on the actions or characters of the people.

00:41:43.220 The left has an idea.

00:41:45.140 The idea is that all of morality and all of reality grows out of power relationships.

00:41:51.120 That's their idea.

00:41:51.920 And therefore, if you belong to a group that can establish that has less power than other

00:41:56.680 groups, then everything you do is therefore is then correct because you're bringing everything

00:42:01.740 closer to equity, which is the only good.

00:42:03.980 The only evil is power.

00:42:05.620 The only good is equality. 0.95

00:42:07.260 So if you're black, you can be good just by being black. 0.98

00:42:11.360 If you're black, but you don't agree that power is the only morality, then you're no 0.98

00:42:15.600 longer black. 0.98

00:42:16.340 Then you no longer belong to that group.

00:42:18.280 They really do work these theories out in large academic tomes, which I'm afraid to say

00:42:23.580 I've read and they are very carefully worked out and the logic is very carefully worked

00:42:28.680 out.

00:42:29.300 We have a very different basis for our moral judgments.

00:42:32.840 Our moral judgments are based on what I call the great speculation, which is that your inner

00:42:38.280 life is as important to you as mine is to me, and both are equally important to God.

00:42:42.520 And that's how we build our morality.

00:42:44.580 So there's no common ground.

00:42:46.100 We're coming from different places.

00:42:47.680 And we on the right keeps kind of slapping our forehead and saying, how can they believe

00:42:51.000 this guy?

00:42:51.860 They don't have to believe him.

00:42:53.140 It doesn't matter.

00:42:54.020 He's playing a part because all there are are parts and everything else is just power.

00:42:58.320 It's just this invisible clash of power.

00:43:00.580 So there's no way to argue with them anymore.

00:43:04.120 We really have to learn how to win and win arguments with the people and win with the

00:43:08.980 electorate.

00:43:09.580 And it doesn't help.

00:43:10.720 It doesn't help when people keep saying, well, this election was stolen or it's all a cheat

00:43:14.420 or it's all a, you know, it's all a fraud because we have to win.

00:43:18.220 We just have to because these guys are out of their minds and they're not the majority.

00:43:22.720 They are not the majority.

00:43:23.860 They are in the minority.

00:43:25.120 But we don't know how to argue with them and we don't know how to fight with them.

00:43:27.660 And we really don't know how to represent ourselves at all.

00:43:31.280 The the left wing press is trying to excuse the dramatic change in Justin Pearson as just

00:43:38.340 like, what do you mean he changed his hairstyle?

00:43:40.140 Would you just calm down?

00:43:41.680 I can calm down, change his hair like it's been six and a half years.

00:43:46.300 You know, he changed a little and six just for kicks.

00:43:49.780 I said to the team, go back and pick any random video of me six and a half years ago.

00:43:52.880 Let's go look at me in 2016, which is when the early let's take it.

00:43:55.460 I don't even know what we're about to see.

00:43:56.540 Let's take a look.

00:43:57.660 Well, there is a fierce First Amendment debate now raging on two major college campuses in

00:44:02.960 a moment.

00:44:03.380 We'll show you what's unfolding at Yale.

00:44:06.420 I mean, my hair's longer.

00:44:08.540 I I did not develop a new accent.

00:44:11.540 I did not stop talking like this and dropping all my letters.

00:44:16.440 I did not get holified suddenly and start preaching to the choir out on the streets.

00:44:22.460 Like, give me a break.

00:44:24.260 This is not about growing his hair out.

00:44:25.940 I did that, too.

00:44:27.240 This is about taking on a whole new persona so you can sell yourself to a clientele that

00:44:32.940 you know is in the market for this particular brand of rhetoric sold in the particular kind

00:44:38.300 of package Pearson's finally figured out how to give.

00:44:41.580 Well, what can you say?

00:44:44.380 What can you say to people who believe that if I put on a wig and a dress, I actually become

00:44:49.080 a woman? 0.80

00:44:49.860 And then you say, well, this guy has utterly changed his personality.

00:44:53.940 That's fine with them.

00:44:55.040 I mean, why?

00:44:55.600 Why should they object?

00:44:56.560 What would they object to?

00:44:57.620 I don't know.

00:44:58.160 And as you say, it all works.

00:45:00.440 It's all showbiz.

00:45:01.960 And it and show business works if every single person is taking a picture of you and commenting,

00:45:07.580 commentating on you is on your side.

00:45:09.900 And that's the situation we have.

00:45:11.520 Our press, our press is a guerrilla press.

00:45:13.640 It's what we're doing right now.

00:45:15.140 I mean, when when you they put you on a major TV show, they did everything they could to get

00:45:20.260 you off as quickly as possible.

00:45:22.240 They would never have me.

00:45:23.800 I have I have a hard time just getting published at this point because of my points of view.

00:45:28.260 They are doing everything they can to ensure that there are no voices contradicting them

00:45:34.420 because they believe that if they have the only voice, then reality will be subject to

00:45:39.280 them.

00:45:39.900 That's not true, but they think it's true and they're willing to do a lot of damage.

00:45:43.580 You know, Twitter, another thing, you know, look at the intelligence agencies shutting

00:45:48.060 people down on Twitter and on Facebook.

00:45:50.260 They really do believe that they can control reality.

00:45:53.460 So this guy is wearing costumes.

00:45:56.200 What's the difference to them?

00:45:57.420 That's all they ever do.

00:45:58.460 All they do is as perform.

00:46:00.260 They say so.

00:46:01.200 Their theories say so.

00:46:02.380 They say you can perform womanhood, you can perform manhood, and it becomes that real 0.92

00:46:06.520 thing.

00:46:06.760 So this guy is performing.

00:46:08.320 But as long as he's on the right side and as long as he's got the right identity and as

00:46:12.500 long as he is increasing the power of government, they does not care.

00:46:16.120 They don't care one little bit.

00:46:18.920 We're going to talk about the double standard.

00:46:20.700 You know, as I point out, if Andrew Klavan had that one, Justin Jones's criminal history,

00:46:25.800 he wouldn't be allowed anywhere near a state house in any in any state.

00:46:30.440 However, different standard for this guy.

00:46:33.700 That same thing with respect to the abortion debate.

00:46:36.640 You protest outside of an abortion clinic and you're on the pro-life side.

00:46:40.140 You do one wrong thing.

00:46:41.260 They'll throw you away and try to lock you up without the key.

00:46:44.020 However, if you're on the other side, if you are pro-choice and you go vandalize a Catholic

00:46:49.300 church, very different result.

00:46:51.380 And that actually just happened.

00:46:52.720 We're going to talk about it when we come back with Andrew Klavan, and then we will get

00:46:55.660 into what we're now learning.

00:46:56.820 Thanks to the Daily Wire about Miss.

00:46:58.880 We've become too fratty over at Bud Light and what Bud Light is now reportedly saying about

00:47:04.760 how that happened as its stock price dips and they lose billions of dollars.

00:47:09.680 Just stand by for that.

00:47:13.920 Andrew, I mentioned the double standard.

00:47:15.440 We were discussing it right before the break.

00:47:17.840 Just one more because my team has been sending me the updates.

00:47:21.500 So I read you the Salon headline.

00:47:24.480 The Tennessee Three were right. 0.99

00:47:25.820 Screw decorum.

00:47:26.760 It's time to rush the well.

00:47:28.420 Here's what Salon said after the State of the Union when Marjorie Taylor Greene yelled out.

00:47:33.340 On order from Trump, Republicans throw a hissy fit during Biden's State of the Union.

00:47:37.240 Another one from Salon.

00:47:38.120 The heckler's veto.

00:47:40.180 Biden masterfully stood up to the GOP.

00:47:43.300 Now what?

00:47:47.240 You know, it really is funny that these guys who hate Donald Trump so much have never actually

00:47:53.060 questioned why people would vote for Donald Trump. 0.58

00:47:55.800 Why after 50, 60 years of being told that they don't count, that they stink, their religion 1.00

00:48:01.100 stinks, their country stinks, their marriage stinks, everything about them stinks. 0.99

00:48:04.780 Why they would go after this guy who shouts them down like Trump does. 0.98

00:48:09.380 This is why.

00:48:10.520 This is why.

00:48:11.460 It really is bad for the country.

00:48:13.800 I mean, if you look at like late night comedy shows, they are all on one side.

00:48:17.380 If everybody's making jokes about one side and not the other, how do you expect them not to get

00:48:21.020 angry?

00:48:21.540 How do you expect them not to get enraged?

00:48:23.100 If when right wingers storm a Capitol building, they're hunted down no matter where they are

00:48:28.200 and put in prison without trial, but left wingers do the same thing and they are valorized and

00:48:33.340 turned into heroes.

00:48:34.280 How do you expect people to feel?

00:48:35.620 How do you expect to avoid the kind of clashes that are going to grow out of that anger?

00:48:40.060 I don't know.

00:48:40.460 It is, I think, a central, central problem in the country is the unfairness of the treatment

00:48:46.400 of people.

00:48:47.560 So that leads me to what's going on now with this particular defendant.

00:48:53.400 Now, let me introduce you to Maeve Nota.

00:48:57.320 Maeve was arrested in the state of Washington after last summer, after Dobbs overturned Roe 1.00

00:49:05.360 versus Wade.

00:49:06.300 Maeve is a transgender man.

00:49:08.900 Now, normally that means, I never know how they're using it now, but normally if you say

00:49:13.060 it's a trans man, it means it's a biological woman dressing as a man. 0.60

00:49:16.440 But I think this video shows a woman, so maybe it's a man dressing. 0.76

00:49:19.060 Who the hell knows, Andrew?

00:49:20.500 Maeve's trans. 0.98

00:49:22.100 Okay?

00:49:22.940 Maeve was pissed off that Roe versus Wade was overturned by Dobbs, and Maeve decided to work 0.99

00:49:29.600 out that anger by going to St. Louis Catholic Church in Bellevue, Washington in June of 2022

00:49:36.340 and vandalizing the church. 0.99

00:49:38.900 Maeve scrawled, fuck Catholics on the church's walls, assaulted a church employee, defaced 1.00

00:49:46.020 several religious statues, tossed rocks at and spray painted an employee of the church, 1.00

00:49:53.160 smashed two of the church's glass doors, painted women haters, kid groomers, we hate gay people, 0.99

00:49:59.960 rotten hell, and f-Catholics on the church's walls, and then fought with police on top 1.00

00:50:08.400 of it. 0.98

00:50:08.860 Okay?

00:50:09.220 Oh, and by the way, scared the hell out of a little old lady praying. 1.00

00:50:12.340 So that's what Maeve did. 0.93

00:50:14.260 The fed swooped in and charged Maeve with a hate crime. 1.00

00:50:17.980 Okay, so far, so good.

00:50:19.120 Yes, we see it.

00:50:20.020 That's a hate crime against Catholics. 0.97

00:50:21.920 Bad Maeve. 0.97

00:50:23.020 Well, the news just hit, this is via the New York Post, that the Justice Department is recommending

00:50:28.980 no jail time for Maeve, absolutely no jail time whatsoever, and will only recommend three

00:50:37.380 years probation, okay?

00:50:40.020 So that's what you get when you assault the church employee and threaten the police, tussle

00:50:47.300 with the police, deface a Catholic church.

00:50:51.740 Contrast that with what they did to pro-life activist Mark Hoke, who was arrested back in

00:50:58.000 September 2022 after being indicted on federal charges that he allegedly intimidated someone

00:51:03.000 at Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia.

00:51:05.600 You may remember this case.

00:51:06.720 They accused this guy, Mark, of pushing a 72-year-old man who was escorting two patients from the

00:51:11.980 clinic in October 2021.

00:51:14.560 Hoke claimed that the elderly man had been harassing Hoke's son and that he was really

00:51:19.180 just standing up for his kid.

00:51:21.200 The Justice Department saw Hoke as a very different kind of threat.

00:51:27.100 They tried to put him in prison for 11 years.

00:51:30.940 11 years they went after this guy.

00:51:32.880 They took him to trial, and Hoke was acquitted.

00:51:36.720 By a federal jury.

00:51:37.840 So he got no jail time because he was found not guilty.

00:51:40.600 Look at the difference in standards, right?

00:51:43.780 This Hoke faces 11 years in prison for having a tussle with a guy outside of a Planned Parenthood,

00:51:49.760 where he made clear to the authorities originally, I was defending my son.

00:51:53.980 And by the way, they showed up like a SWAT team at his house when they arrested him.

00:51:57.240 All of his kids were there.

00:51:58.240 The wife talked about how they came in, guns drawn, their family was scared.

00:52:01.760 This other guy, Maeve, the trans person, actually assaults a churchgoer, never mind the cops and 0.87

00:52:06.380 what they did to the church.

00:52:07.460 You're fine.

00:52:08.480 Probation.

00:52:09.160 Off you go.

00:52:09.820 Thanks, honey.

00:52:11.440 Maeve is lucky when she was assaulting people in a Catholic church. 1.00

00:52:14.460 She didn't accidentally hit an FBI agent who was trying to infiltrate the church to make

00:52:19.380 sure they weren't speaking Latin.

00:52:21.340 You know, the one thing I will say on Maeve's behalf is at least he or she or whatever the

00:52:26.660 hell he is knows where the problem is.

00:52:30.020 That is the thing.

00:52:31.600 That is the enemy of the federal government at this point is religion. 0.58

00:52:35.740 They know that if we lose our religion, we're going to lose the argument.

00:52:39.760 And we don't necessarily know that, you know, George Washington told us this a long, long

00:52:44.640 time ago when he gave his, he published his famous farewell address.

00:52:49.100 He said, you know, beware of the idea that you can maintain a moral structure without religion.

00:52:53.900 And he didn't mean that religion was useful because it made people afraid of hell or anything

00:52:58.040 like that.

00:52:58.660 What he meant was the underlying ideas of religion, namely the faith in God and the faith of a moral

00:53:03.700 structure that you cannot violate is inherent in a free country.

00:53:08.900 You cannot be a free country without that faith that A, morality exists and B, that people

00:53:14.020 are made in the image of God and deserve to be respected and deserve to be free.

00:53:17.380 So this targeting of religion and the laxity of prosecution and a hate crime against religion

00:53:24.180 is in keeping again with the left's philosophy.

00:53:27.040 They are acting rationally in keeping with their philosophy.

00:53:30.500 They're even acting morally in keeping with their philosophy.

00:53:33.260 The fact that their philosophy is rotten to the core is not the point.

00:53:37.380 The point is they are acting in keeping with their philosophy.

00:53:40.160 And I worry about the right because I worry that the right does not understand that they

00:53:44.300 cannot make their arguments.

00:53:45.600 They cannot make their arguments without some kind of religious basis, some kind of spiritual

00:53:49.980 basis.

00:53:51.000 And I think on the right, we're just, we keep talking about the market.

00:53:53.940 The market's going to save us, go woke, go broke.

00:53:56.340 Market ain't going to save us.

00:53:57.560 The market will not save us because the market is underpinned by values.

00:54:01.560 If you don't have the values that make a market necessary and useful, you can't have,

00:54:05.460 the market's just going to go away.

00:54:07.200 And so I think that, you know, I think that the left is acting again, very rationally in

00:54:11.880 keeping with their philosophy.

00:54:13.020 And part of their philosophy is that religion is a problem for them and it is a problem for

00:54:17.620 them.

00:54:18.120 And if we don't support it, if we don't defend it, if we don't go use every, every weapon

00:54:22.740 in our arsenal, including the constitution and maybe especially the constitution to protect

00:54:28.320 religion in public life, in the public square, the absolute freedom to express religion,

00:54:34.560 to worship without an FBI agent coming in and making sure you're not speaking Latin,

00:54:39.560 we're going to lose this fight.

00:54:40.820 We are going to lose this fight.

00:54:41.880 So I really do think that the left has got its house in order in terms of its philosophical

00:54:46.400 coherence.

00:54:47.300 And we haven't.

00:54:48.600 And I think that it's, I know it's a hard, it sounds like a kind of professorial argument

00:54:53.100 to make, but is it a very practical political argument?

00:54:55.900 We can't win if we don't know what we believe.

00:54:59.360 I mean, that latest, I think it was Pew poll showed that only 39% of the American population

00:55:04.960 now thinks religion is important, values it as one of their top values of religion.

00:55:09.180 I mean, the numbers used to be way higher than that.

00:55:11.760 Up in the 60s, there was one point where it would have been in the 90s and it's on a

00:55:16.040 steady decline.

00:55:17.420 That's an interesting point.

00:55:18.680 Maeve chose the right target because that really is the enemy of what Maeve stands for and

00:55:23.020 what the government is pushing on us.

00:55:24.940 You mentioned the Catholic churches and the FBI.

00:55:27.660 There was new information on that this week, which was just very dark.

00:55:32.240 I mean, we brought the audience the story because Chris Wray, the head of the FBI, testified

00:55:35.720 before Congress and admitted this had happened, but immediately disavowed the behavior of this

00:55:40.740 agent and said, this is not what the FBI is about.

00:55:43.880 He said, I was aghast when I saw these reports that the FBI was targeting Catholics.

00:55:48.600 We took steps immediately to withdraw this plan and remove it from the FBI's systems.

00:55:54.140 It does not reflect our standards.

00:55:56.100 So that's good.

00:55:57.160 That's good.

00:55:57.640 But one does have to ask why this guy thought this would be a great next step for the FBI

00:56:02.920 to begin with.

00:56:03.660 This this FBI agent is what happened was the story broke and then Congress subpoenaed the

00:56:08.100 documents and FBI did not turn them over.

00:56:10.520 And then the Congress got a little bit more aggressive about enforcing its subpoena and

00:56:14.880 its oversight.

00:56:15.480 And the FBI did turn over the documents showing it had sought to develop sources inside Christian

00:56:21.520 churches and Catholic diocese as part of an effort to combat domestic terrorism.

00:56:26.900 The House Judiciary Committee released these documents on Monday.

00:56:29.520 They showed the FBI plan to use churches as new avenues, quoting here from a Fox News report,

00:56:35.320 for tripwire and source development.

00:56:37.880 Uh, they also aim to specifically target mainline Catholic parishes.

00:56:43.020 So not that it was any better when it was just the one saying the Latin mass, but just

00:56:47.540 in case you think, oh, that's not me.

00:56:49.040 It is you mainline Catholic parishes is what they wanted to target.

00:56:52.600 Uh, they, uh, relied on at least one other undercover agent to produce their analysis and that the

00:57:00.400 FBI proposed that its agents engage in outreach to Catholic parishes to develop sources among the

00:57:05.240 clergy and church leadership to inform an Americans practicing their faith.

00:57:11.200 We only know about that because an FBI whistleblower produced the report and made it public.

00:57:16.440 And that's sort of what, what caught us onto it.

00:57:19.160 Um, their, their plan was to quote, mitigate the threat of radical traditionalist Catholics.

00:57:25.640 I think they mean you, that's you.

00:57:30.120 Well, you know, they, again, they're quite right because, uh, Catholicism is the faith

00:57:34.620 on which the West was built.

00:57:36.120 There is no West without, uh, some basis in, in what the Catholics, uh, thought and believed 0.97

00:57:41.620 and taught us.

00:57:42.400 Uh, even the idea of the individual is essentially a Catholic idea.

00:57:46.640 The idea of the individual, uh, with rights of his own is essentially a Catholic idea.

00:57:51.460 Uh, they, they, they know what they're doing.

00:57:53.860 They're not wrong. 0.51

00:57:54.920 And what I want to know about this FBI thing, it came out in Virginia, actually the, the

00:57:59.380 original paper.

00:58:00.460 And now there's word that somebody was actually inside a Catholic church, uh, becoming, uh,

00:58:04.940 a, an asset to the FBI.

00:58:07.340 I want to know who was fired.

00:58:08.860 I mean, this is not some clerical error.

00:58:11.760 This is not, oh, I, you know, I put Catholic, but I meant to say terrorists. 0.99

00:58:15.000 I mean, that this is, this is a guy somewhere in the FBI is someone who believed that spying on

00:58:20.900 Americans worshiping Jesus Christ in a Catholic church was a good thing was, is this guy still 1.00

00:58:26.540 working for the FBI?

00:58:27.580 I'll bet anything he is because they know exactly what they're doing.

00:58:31.880 You know, you look over in England, in England, a woman was arrested twice for silently praying

00:58:37.360 outside an abortion clinic.

00:58:38.900 So I just want to emphasize that it was silently praying.

00:58:41.900 The police officer came up with her and said, what are you doing?

00:58:44.560 And she said, well, I'm praying, but he couldn't tell because she wasn't praying out loud

00:58:48.540 and she was arrested.

00:58:50.420 You know, we're not that far from this.

00:58:52.940 I mean, we're still protected by, uh, the first amendment was still protected by our

00:58:57.300 traditions, but you know, the first amendment is only on a piece of paper.

00:59:01.260 The constitution is only a piece of paper.

00:59:02.980 And if we don't understand how important this is and how it underlies everything and underpins

00:59:08.600 everything, we're going to lose it.

00:59:10.240 You know, I just can't, I cannot get it around.

00:59:13.600 And I cannot convince conservatives because we're so into the idea of freedom and mark

00:59:18.720 and the marketplace.

00:59:19.720 This has been true since I would say the eighties.

00:59:21.960 We've just talked about the market, the market, the market, this Ayn Rand idea that it's all,

00:59:26.640 you know, morality just grows out of individuality and it all goes out of the market.

00:59:30.940 You know, we're so into that, that we have lost, uh, we have lost track of the fact that no,

00:59:36.980 these ideas grew up over thousands of years, uh, built on Catholic teaching and then Protestant

00:59:43.340 teaching after that.

00:59:44.400 And so we let that go.

00:59:46.480 We let go of everything.

00:59:47.440 And that is what's happening in England where the churches are, are empty.

00:59:50.940 It will happen here if our church is empty out.

00:59:53.420 And I, I don't think, you know, I, I think Christianity is being poorly taught.

00:59:58.480 I think it's being, you know, I think people come out of church, they look grim and tight and

01:00:02.740 are angry at everybody.

01:00:04.100 Uh, for me, Christianity is the source of insane, insane amount of joy. 1.00

01:00:08.300 And then once we start teaching that again, which is, I think the basic idea of Christianity,

01:00:12.640 I think maybe it'll become a little bit more popular, but I, I really do.

01:00:16.320 Megan, I don't know.

01:00:17.240 I think that we do not know what we're talking about and the left does, they understand what

01:00:21.640 they believe in and we don't.

01:00:23.980 They're smart.

01:00:24.720 Just, just to pivot.

01:00:25.920 There's, there's a lot.

01:00:26.780 I will say just one quick point.

01:00:28.420 Um, it does depend on the church you go to, right?

01:00:30.380 Like I go home and I visit my mom and my, where I grew up and I got to tell you, the

01:00:33.760 church service there is kind of depressing, kind of dour.

01:00:36.240 It's dark.

01:00:36.680 And the music choices are kind of sad.

01:00:38.740 And, uh, you know, my mom's had a rough year.

01:00:40.420 So I'm like, mom, this is not the mass for you.

01:00:42.520 You know, like we need, we need to find back at home.

01:00:45.060 I love the fact that we're it's, it's bright.

01:00:48.760 It's airy.

01:00:49.380 It's a happy hour.

01:00:50.920 You know, we see friends.

01:00:52.320 We, we, we love Frank who sings.

01:00:54.640 We love the father, Father Richard, who keeps it joyful.

01:00:57.480 You leave uplifted and the kids like it too.

01:01:00.160 I mean, even my kids, it's not like they're like, yes, how soon can we go to mass?

01:01:03.720 But they get out of bed and they go willingly and they enjoy it.

01:01:06.300 And we have a nice, so if you're having the sad feeling or like the mass is not good for

01:01:10.040 you, reconsider, like try another church.

01:01:12.620 Cause you might just not be at the right place.

01:01:14.740 Um, but you mentioned the left is good at this.

01:01:18.280 And one of the things that jumped out at me today, as I was looking at the, at the polls

01:01:21.700 in the political arena, Andrew, it was, yeah, the left is good at this because look at

01:01:26.800 this, listen to this.

01:01:27.540 So, so since they indicted Trump and his arraignment last week by Alvin Bragg in Manhattan, his support

01:01:34.420 with primary voters has gone through the roof, through the roof.

01:01:39.440 Uh, the latest Reuters Ipsos poll shows Trump at 58, DeSantis at 21.

01:01:44.700 Uh, and that means Trump's up 10 from just a week earlier.

01:01:49.140 He was already crushing, but he's crushing by even more now.

01:01:51.640 Um, Yahoo, YouGov, Trump's at 57, Ron DeSantis is at 31.

01:01:58.400 Um, he did have just an eight point lead and now that's up to, well, you do the math, but

01:02:03.200 it's 25, almost 30 points.

01:02:05.760 Um, ABC Ipsos, however, adds this piece of it.

01:02:10.900 Trump's unfavorability is climbing by the day from 55 to 61%.

01:02:19.120 That's with the general electorate, Andrew.

01:02:23.280 And all I could think was irrespective of how you feel about Trump, whether you like him

01:02:27.220 or you don't, this is right in line with the Democrats plan, drive his numbers up with

01:02:31.900 the primary voters.

01:02:32.860 They love everything I just said.

01:02:34.720 They think Trump's the most beatable.

01:02:36.520 They want to run against him.

01:02:37.920 His numbers are going up with the GOP base while they're going down with the general electorate.

01:02:42.300 And, you know, Bob's your uncle, boom, Biden 2.0.

01:02:46.860 It's, it's, you know, it's human nature and math.

01:02:50.120 We know that they want to run against Trump because they literally donate money to candidates

01:02:55.940 that Trump picks, the kind of Trumpian candidates, Democrats actually fund those candidates in

01:03:01.520 the hopes that they will win the primary and lose the election.

01:03:05.240 And that is exactly what's going to happen here.

01:03:07.640 And the other part of it, the human nature part of it is they make us angry.

01:03:11.820 They make us angry by the unfairness that you were talking about before, the double standard.

01:03:15.340 They make us angry by indicting Donald Trump on a nonsense charge.

01:03:18.920 They make us angry in the way they talk about us as deplorable and all this stuff.

01:03:23.580 And think about your personal life.

01:03:25.060 When you lose your temper, we all lose our temper sometime.

01:03:28.120 Do any of us ever look back and say, boy, when I really got angry that time, I acted great.

01:03:32.140 I really did the right thing. 1.00

01:03:33.580 No, when you get angry, you do stupid stuff. 0.99

01:03:36.220 And, you know, I always tell people anger is the devil's cocaine because it feels like 0.99

01:03:39.920 righteousness, but it's not.

01:03:41.460 There is such a thing as righteous anger, but even righteous anger is not righteousness.

01:03:45.880 It is just a natural reaction to evil.

01:03:49.200 It is maybe natural to feel angry after this indictment in New York, for instance, which was a

01:03:54.520 travesty and a travesty of justice. 1.00

01:03:57.060 It's natural to feel angry, but it makes you stupid. 1.00

01:04:00.680 The thing about Donald Trump is he cannot win the general election. 1.00

01:04:04.480 He barely won the first general election and only because we have this great electoral college

01:04:09.300 in place.

01:04:09.860 But he didn't win the majority.

01:04:11.580 He lost the next election.

01:04:14.860 I know people tell themselves it's like a security blanket.

01:04:17.860 They tell themselves it was all stolen away.

01:04:19.500 Now he lost the election.

01:04:21.020 He lost it to a doddering old man who hid in the basement.

01:04:23.780 He's lost every he lost the midterm election while he was president.

01:04:26.620 He helped lose the midterm election after he was president.

01:04:29.240 He lost Georgia because of his behavior so that we lost the majority in the Senate.

01:04:33.400 He does not do well as a politician.

01:04:36.220 People keep saying the thing I like about Trump is he's not a politician.

01:04:39.140 Yeah, I understand that.

01:04:40.260 But politics is a business.

01:04:42.120 It's a profession.

01:04:43.020 And if you don't know how to do it, you lose.

01:04:45.280 So I get why Trump is popular.

01:04:47.260 There are moments when I love Donald Trump.

01:04:49.240 When he goes after the press, he makes me laugh out loud.

01:04:52.040 I mean, there's things that he does.

01:04:53.720 And a lot of his ideas are far better than the left's ideas.

01:04:57.140 He can't win.

01:04:58.100 So it doesn't matter.

01:04:59.320 He can win the primary.

01:05:01.080 He probably will win the primaries as things are set up right now.

01:05:04.220 But he cannot win the general election because he has alienated the independents.

01:05:08.840 And the independents decide elections in this country.

01:05:11.380 He cannot win that middle ground.

01:05:13.480 And he can't win it because of his behavior.

01:05:15.220 And his behavior has cost him everything he's had.

01:05:17.740 You know, he lost the Obama, the repeal of Obamacare because of the way he treated John McCain.

01:05:21.940 He's lost his friends because of the way he treated him.

01:05:24.580 People he had on his staff.

01:05:26.200 Nobody speaks well of him on his staff because of the way he treated them.

01:05:29.700 These things matter.

01:05:30.760 And I'm sorry.

01:05:31.760 I'm sorry.

01:05:32.320 I understand why people like him.

01:05:33.940 I like him, too.

01:05:35.120 I voted for him twice.

01:05:36.600 I was the first person at the Daily Wire who said, I'm going to vote for this guy.

01:05:39.520 He's all we got.

01:05:40.860 You know, I would vote for him again if I had to.

01:05:43.500 I'm not a never-Trumper.

01:05:45.180 He can't win.

01:05:46.260 And I think that we've got to get a little bit smarter.

01:05:48.740 A lot of this is just, I mean, it's kind of the theme of what we've been talking about,

01:05:51.380 making a lot of it is about being smart and making sense.

01:05:54.340 And the left is smart.

01:05:55.440 It doesn't sound like the GOP.

01:05:56.440 According to their underlying principles.

01:05:58.400 The GOP is, they're not that smart in terms of their political maneuvering.

01:06:02.880 I will say, I do know a lot of former Trump staffers who love Donald Trump and have lovely

01:06:07.040 things to say about him.

01:06:08.240 People like Rick Grinnell, who's an honest broker.

01:06:10.440 But I could go on in that list.

01:06:12.080 I obviously didn't work out with a lot.

01:06:13.720 A lot.

01:06:14.460 You know, people like Bill Barr, it comes to mind.

01:06:16.420 But wait, OK, so now I wanted to get to Dylan Mulvaney, all right, because we only have

01:06:22.320 a short time left and I've got to cover this with you.

01:06:24.600 Dylan Mulvaney was on the cover, was on a Bud Light can, like a commemorative six-pack

01:06:30.060 that was mailed to Dylan.

01:06:31.380 There was a brand partnership.

01:06:32.760 Bud Light used Dylan to promote Bud Light and all hell broke loose.

01:06:35.920 They've lost some $7 billion in marketing capitalization.

01:06:38.880 Talk with Eric Bowling about that at the top of the show.

01:06:40.960 Sales are plummeting, according to what we read.

01:06:43.260 And the core base is mad.

01:06:45.200 They're mad at Bud Light.

01:06:45.980 They don't appreciate this partnership.

01:06:48.760 Now Daily Wire reached out to, they say, two sources within Bud Light who are in a

01:06:54.680 position to know.

01:06:55.520 And they say to the Daily Wire, no one at a senior level was aware of this partnership.

01:07:01.300 No one at a senior level.

01:07:03.080 Now, the person who we thought approved it is the VP of marketing, Alyssa Heinerscheid.

01:07:08.260 And if Alyssa did not specifically approve this ad, shame on her. 0.96

01:07:12.300 It's still her problem.

01:07:13.640 It's her department.

01:07:14.380 She allowed it.

01:07:15.480 And she was on the air three days before the campaign hit, talking about how we've gotten

01:07:19.600 too fratty and we need to be more inclusive.

01:07:22.520 And look at this Super Bowl ad I did, which is about a male actor.

01:07:25.580 But it was told through his wife's eyes.

01:07:29.200 She was the heart and soul.

01:07:30.780 This is obviously an identity politics Harvard grad who's all about, you know, color, gender,

01:07:36.300 sexual orientation, all this stuff.

01:07:38.980 So whatever.

01:07:39.940 She's not off the hook, but I'm sure it was her anyway.

01:07:41.820 We'll find out.

01:07:42.380 In any event, they're describing it as a low level marketing staffer who made the call,

01:07:48.400 again, wanting to be more inclusive.

01:07:51.140 And now they're saying that Bud Light is halting all marketing efforts to reevaluate the brand's

01:07:57.140 ad strategies because your first effort wound up in the toilet and that they will in the

01:08:02.880 future evaluate all partnerships more robustly.

01:08:07.240 Here's my question for you.

01:08:08.460 Some people are pushing back on people like you, like people like me and maybe you who

01:08:15.240 are ticked off about this Dylan Mulvaney partnership with Bud Light.

01:08:18.760 I'm ticked off about Bud Light, but I'm even more ticked off about Oil of Olay and Nike on

01:08:23.440 the sports bras, you know, spaces that are absolutely women's spaces.

01:08:29.180 But all of it bothers me, to be honest.

01:08:31.280 And you have people like Joe Rogan, Howard Stern came out and said, like, what's the big deal?

01:08:37.200 So why are why are people mad about this?

01:08:40.480 So do you want to take a shot at that?

01:08:43.280 Oh, well, yeah.

01:08:43.920 I mean, this also goes very deep into philosophy, but let's not start there.

01:08:47.460 Let's start at the top.

01:08:49.180 If you watch the Dylan Mulvaney ad for Bud Light, he comes on and he says, I don't know

01:08:54.160 anything about sports and I don't know what, you know, it must be some kind of game.

01:08:57.200 I don't know.

01:08:57.920 Now, my wife is one of the most feminine people I know. 1.00

01:09:00.860 She doesn't know anything about sports.

01:09:02.320 She doesn't talk anything like that because she's a grown up lady who just happens to have 1.00

01:09:06.260 ladies' interests in the same way. 0.98

01:09:07.680 I don't talk like Moose McCoy because I happen to have male interests.

01:09:11.540 You know, that's not the way women behave. 1.00

01:09:14.220 He is not being a woman. 1.00

01:09:16.320 He is doing a woman. 0.97

01:09:17.860 He is everything about what he is doing is a show and a performance.

01:09:22.020 And it's a conscious performance.

01:09:23.880 He is not a woman. 1.00

01:09:25.160 He is pretending to be a woman consciously and openly.

01:09:28.420 So that means that it is if I did this, it's as if I smeared my face with blackface, did 0.97

01:09:35.360 an Amos and Andy voice, not a real, you know, anything that sounded like a real black adult 0.99

01:09:40.660 male, but did an Amos and Andy, you know, cliched, old fashioned racist black voice and tried 0.69

01:09:46.760 to sell some product, some kind of hair thing or whatever that was for black people.

01:09:51.920 I mean, Joe Rogan would not be saying, so what?

01:09:54.500 They're just trying to expand their base.

01:09:56.060 They're just trying to reach out to different people.

01:09:57.660 He would understand that this is a deeply disrespectful and in that case, racist idea.

01:10:03.340 This is worse.

01:10:04.640 And it's worse because of this. 0.93

01:10:06.400 White men and black men are not that different.

01:10:09.340 They're basically the same.

01:10:10.480 I mean, the color of their skin is different.

01:10:12.020 Maybe some of the culture is different, but basically as human beings, they're basically

01:10:15.480 the same.

01:10:16.440 Men and women are different.

01:10:17.780 Women and men have different interests. 0.98

01:10:19.900 They have different experiences of life.

01:10:21.760 And I'd say they have different magisterium.

01:10:24.140 They have different things that they are good at and in control of.

01:10:27.560 To say that a man is a woman is to take away a person's identity from the ground up.

01:10:34.300 It is to strip her of who she is and what she goes through.

01:10:37.960 It is so disrespectful and so hateful that it doesn't matter.

01:10:42.020 I don't think Bud Light is hateful. 1.00

01:10:43.620 I think the philosophy that they are joining in with is hateful and it's stupid. 1.00

01:10:47.940 And again, you know, I don't know if we have time to talk about it, but this philosophy 1.00

01:10:51.520 goes very deep.

01:10:52.540 It is an anti-human philosophy.

01:10:54.500 It is the philosophy that everything about us is a performance.

01:10:57.700 Our gender is a performance. 1.00

01:10:59.020 Even what our bodies desire is a performance. 1.00

01:11:01.700 So you have people saying that if you are a man and you prefer vaginas to penises, that 1.00

01:11:06.540 already is bigotry. 1.00

01:11:07.740 That's anti-trans bigotry. 0.56

01:11:09.320 But that, of course, is inherent in our nature.

01:11:12.440 The idea that you can just strip somebody of his nature by pretending to be him is so

01:11:18.920 basically dehumanizing and hateful that I think it deserves everything it gets.

01:11:25.580 And I hope Anheuser-Busch is forced out of business.

01:11:28.240 It's not enough for me that their stock goes down.

01:11:30.980 I don't care about their stock.

01:11:31.940 I want them to be unable to sell a beer in any state in this country, not because of

01:11:36.160 the law, but because people simply will not buy it for the hateful thing they did.

01:11:40.500 And as you say, the idea that Dylan Mulvaney should be representing female products is twice

01:11:46.140 as wicked, twice as hateful.

01:11:48.140 But unfortunately, because women are women and they don't stand up like men do. 1.00

01:11:52.780 Men get angry when you do this stuff and they strike back and women should strike back too. 0.86

01:11:57.380 It's so true. 0.84

01:11:59.120 You raised a lot of good points.

01:12:00.920 I've been thinking about it.

01:12:02.980 If they if they if Bud Light had used Caitlyn Jenner, would I be having the same reaction?

01:12:09.080 And I admit I would not be Caitlyn Jenner is a trans woman.

01:12:14.680 Caitlyn Jenner doesn't run around trying to say trans women are women. 0.99

01:12:18.800 Trans women are women. 0.90

01:12:20.360 Caitlyn Jenner understands there are differences and that trans women should not be competing

01:12:24.660 against women in women's sports and so on. 0.50

01:12:27.520 I don't think Caitlyn Jenner would think it's appropriate for Caitlyn to be

01:12:30.900 modeling oil of Olay or of sports bra company.

01:12:35.000 I feel like Caitlyn Jenner is a genuinely dysphoric person who had this from a very, very young 0.81

01:12:43.060 age as the genuinely dysphoric did and finally found the courage to transition late in life

01:12:49.520 and hasn't been obnoxious, you know, trying to like take brand sponsorships and trying to parody just the most 0.84

01:12:57.580 ridiculous idea of women since Caitlyn transitioned. 1.00

01:13:01.420 Dylan Mulvaney is a different story. 0.98

01:13:05.160 Dylan Mulvaney infantilizes us.

01:13:09.060 Dylan parodies us.

01:13:10.640 Dylan demeans us.

01:13:12.420 Dylan dresses like a little girl and prances around fake hotel rooms, throwing her legs up in the air as though this is what a woman is. 1.00

01:13:22.340 Like, give me a break.

01:13:24.060 You know, you can I'm no Hillary Clinton fan, but Hillary Clinton is a lawyer and a senator and a presidential candidate. 1.00

01:13:30.440 And it's not bad to have people looking at that and understanding that's what a woman is.

01:13:34.340 Nikki Haley is another one that comes to mind.

01:13:36.260 You know, you look at these strong athletes who go out there and leave nothing on the field.

01:13:40.000 They emerge sweaty and strong and unapologetic for having given their.

01:13:44.480 That's a woman. 1.00

01:13:45.780 OK, that this Dylan character is humiliating womankind and people like the woman at Bud Light who allowed this are buying into it. 0.72

01:13:57.120 They're promoting it.

01:13:58.380 So it needs to stop.

01:14:00.020 So I don't like I'm kind of offended that they don't get it.

01:14:03.480 Like, let me try to explain it.

01:14:04.820 I realize that they're guys, but walk a mile in our shoes because we've tried really hard to find better examples to little girls. 1.00

01:14:12.120 This is one of the reasons why I can't stand the fucking Kardashians. 1.00

01:14:14.980 Sorry, but they're not good for little girls either. 1.00

01:14:17.160 And we've been speaking out about them.

01:14:19.120 Dylan Mulvaney's in the same camp.

01:14:20.560 That's not a woman. 1.00

01:14:21.840 That's not what womanhood is. 1.00

01:14:24.020 And it should stop being promoted as though it is.

01:14:28.040 See, this is why this is exactly why I focus on ideas.

01:14:32.120 This has nothing to do with transgender persons.

01:14:35.400 Even Dylan Mulvaney, he can live any way he wants.

01:14:38.640 And, you know, that is absolutely fine.

01:14:41.060 But to say that a person changes his clothes and thereby changes his sex, or if you want to make this made up word now gender, which is somehow detached from sex.

01:14:51.820 That idea is offensive.

01:14:54.300 It's offensive to the reality of human existence.

01:14:57.640 Yes.

01:14:57.880 And that means it's offensive to real persons.

01:15:00.380 And the thing is, you know, for me to say that, you know, somebody dressing up is weird.

01:15:06.560 It is weird.

01:15:07.400 It's strange.

01:15:08.340 It is strange.

01:15:09.060 But I just don't care.

01:15:10.920 And I can respect somebody who's in the kind of pain that it would take to make you actually have an operation on your body to try and make believe you've changed your gender. 0.56

01:15:20.700 You've got to be in a lot of pain before you do that.

01:15:23.980 But still, it's the overall idea that you represent.

01:15:27.620 And if you do that with respect, if you say, well, look, I'm not a woman, but I had to do this to feel comfortable with myself.

01:15:33.660 It's none of my business.

01:15:34.820 It really isn't.

01:15:35.580 But if you say, no, now I have become a woman and I can usurp all the functions and the representations of women, women who have been born and gone through, you know, getting their periods and maybe had babies and done all the things that women do and have had the experiences with men that women have.

01:15:51.000 And I don't want to just talk about it as victimhood and the beauty of womanhood, the absolute centrality of the feminine experience in human life, that you are just going to erase that because you're unhappy with the way you were born.

01:16:03.720 No, that is not the thing.

01:16:05.320 The idea is wrong.

01:16:07.040 And to put Dylan Mulvaney or any, to me, any trans person as a representative of women is making a different statement than I'm unhappy and I have to live this way. 0.93

01:16:18.260 Those are two different statements.

01:16:19.740 What you do personally and what happens at scale are two different things.

01:16:24.280 And again, we're not very good at talking about this because what the left always does is they bring out an individual example of something and they say, here is an example.

01:16:32.600 You know, if I come on and say, well, men are stronger than women, they bring on some gigantic woman who's stronger than an old guy like me, you know, and that's supposed to prove something.

01:16:41.440 But my generality still remains the same.

01:16:45.260 There are only two kinds of people.

01:16:46.600 There are men and women and there's no such thing as a human being. 1.00

01:16:48.740 There's only a man or a woman.

01:16:50.860 And that's the thing.

01:16:52.080 You know, and what they say, oh, some people are born intersex.

01:16:55.080 Yes, vanishing number of people are born intersex.

01:16:58.480 But if a person is born with one leg, man is still a two-legged creature.

01:17:02.920 And if someone is born intersex, man is still a bi. 0.98

01:17:07.000 There are two sexes in manhood, in human humanity.

01:17:10.700 They have completely befuddled us because they own the press.

01:17:13.880 They have completely befuddled us with their ideas.

01:17:16.560 And we don't strike back with ideas.

01:17:17.900 And that's why it winds up sounding like, you know, I hate Dylan Mulvaney.

01:17:21.460 I don't give a rats about Dylan Mulvaney.

01:17:23.480 The way he lives doesn't mean a thing to me.

01:17:25.420 But when he goes forward and he says, oh, I'm a girl now and I'm going to sell girls products

01:17:30.340 or I'm a girl and I'm going to portray what women are like as I sell Bud Light. 1.00

01:17:33.840 We should never buy anything by Anheuser-Busch. 0.85

01:17:36.280 As far as I'm concerned, I'd shoot their horses at this point just to protest the way they 0.59

01:17:40.980 behave and the way they've treated women. 0.99

01:17:42.700 All right.

01:17:43.080 I wouldn't shoot their horses, but you know what I'm saying.

01:17:45.240 Don't touch the horses. 0.77

01:17:46.340 But yeah, shoot the beer cans and not buy it.

01:17:49.280 I mean, I'm not a beer drinker, but if I had any Bud Light in this house, it would absolutely

01:17:52.920 have been dumped by now.

01:17:54.020 Well, Nike, I've been over for a long time and Oil of Olay, screw them, too.

01:17:59.400 You couldn't find an actual woman who's aging who might actually like the gig. 1.00

01:18:02.880 Like, why wouldn't you go to like a Paulina Portzkova, who's this gorgeous supermodel 1.00

01:18:06.840 who's aging naturally.

01:18:07.980 She's not getting her face filled with poison every week. 1.00

01:18:09.940 She's going gray.

01:18:10.880 She'd be a great person.

01:18:11.760 How about her?

01:18:12.580 An actual woman who's aging as opposed to a 28 year old man for a woman's aging product. 0.99

01:18:18.220 It's just OK.

01:18:18.940 All right.

01:18:19.200 Now we're getting ourselves back wound up.

01:18:20.680 Andrew Klavan, I feel like it was too long.

01:18:23.540 I feel like we need to make the window shorter before you come back, because I always learn

01:18:27.740 when I talk to you.

01:18:28.700 Thank you for being here.

01:18:29.620 I always love talking to you, Megan.

01:18:30.780 Thanks a lot.

01:18:31.920 All right.

01:18:32.300 See you again soon, I hope.

01:18:33.480 When we come back, a story about a brave doctor speaking out about these ridiculous,

01:18:37.940 implicit bias sessions and other diversity pushes that are making medicine much more problematic.

01:18:44.380 Joining me now, a doctor who is speaking out about the new race essentialism push in medicine.

01:18:55.320 Dr. Marilyn Singleton is a Black physician who has so much to say about the obsessive focus 0.88

01:19:01.500 on so-called DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion, that we're seeing more and more in our culture.

01:19:07.680 Marilyn, welcome to the show. 0.90

01:19:08.720 Thank you so much for being here.

01:19:10.640 Well, thank you for having me.

01:19:12.140 So it's one thing to see this push in like, I don't know, education, that's problematic

01:19:21.180 enough, but it's quite another to see DEI take over medicine.

01:19:26.440 And I know this is happening just from my own doctor friends who have complained about the

01:19:31.480 changing of standards when it comes to who gets selected for residencies or elevated to

01:19:36.020 chief resident, right down to how they interact with patients and how I mentioned this yesterday,

01:19:41.280 you're not supposed to offend a patient by asking what gender they are, relevant information.

01:19:47.440 But you've been living it firsthand as, and I should tell the audience a bit about your

01:19:51.080 background, graduated from Stanford, went on to UCSF medical school, two years of surgery

01:19:56.180 at UCSF, then anesthesia residency at Harvard's Beth Israel, went on to Cedars-Sinai medical,

01:20:02.680 you were a professor at Johns Hopkins.

01:20:04.240 Then while still working in medicine, you went to Berkeley Law School, focusing on con

01:20:09.080 law and administrative law.

01:20:10.620 So that's also impressive.

01:20:12.700 But you've been noticing in California, where you've been licensed since 1974, this is creeping

01:20:17.860 in and in a really weird, pervasive, problematic way.

01:20:21.620 Tell us.

01:20:21.980 Okay, this whole thing, there is no question that minorities have been wronged in the past.

01:20:30.560 Certainly slavery is heinous, dreadful, awful.

01:20:33.880 That's done.

01:20:35.340 We know it.

01:20:36.840 But we're now talking about having people go through what I equate to struggle sessions like

01:20:45.720 the Maoists in China did, or in front of your friends and co-workers, you have to confess

01:20:51.960 that you're a racist. 0.90

01:20:53.980 And even though you haven't done anything, that it's implicit in just being a white person

01:21:00.640 or a non-underrepresented minority, because mind you, Asians are minorities, but they're 0.99

01:21:06.640 not underrepresented minorities.

01:21:08.600 So they even had to come up with a new term for blacks, Hispanics, and indigenous people.

01:21:14.220 Those are the BIPOCs. 0.95

01:21:16.460 And it's absurd. 0.99

01:21:18.500 When I'm saying it, I feel like I sound stupid even saying these words. 0.98

01:21:24.760 Who is a BIPOC? 1.00

01:21:27.420 And this is what they're calling little children and grownups who are of other races that are

01:21:34.700 minoritized.

01:21:36.280 So we're not even minorities anymore.

01:21:38.400 We're minoritized, meaning we're powerless.

01:21:41.100 Well, all of this is such bunk and the wrong thing to be teaching young people as well as

01:21:49.760 adults.

01:21:50.640 And certainly all this has to start when we're young.

01:21:53.580 That's another story.

01:21:54.800 But going to medicine, it is damaging to the students who really wonder, have I been accepted

01:22:05.540 to medical school because I'm bright, because I'm smart, because they like what I have to

01:22:10.980 offer?

01:22:11.360 Or am I being accepted because they need another colored person who they can add to their statistics? 0.97

01:22:21.100 And sadly, that's how a lot of these young folks think.

01:22:24.720 And when affirmative action first came out, this is one of the first things a lot of folks

01:22:29.600 wonder.

01:22:30.120 Am I smart?

01:22:32.800 How do people really look at me? 0.99

01:22:35.200 Are they going to think that I'm the dumb doctor? 0.99

01:22:38.480 Will I get as many patients as the white doctor? 0.99

01:22:41.560 And on and on.

01:22:42.780 So that's one aspect.

01:22:44.800 There's a very damaging psychological aspect.

01:22:48.100 There's a damaging aspect to the collegiality among doctors of color and white doctors.

01:22:55.780 People have been consulting back and forth for years with nary a thought of what race the

01:23:04.780 doctor was.

01:23:05.620 It's like, did you have the expertise that I don't have and I'm going to ask you a question

01:23:10.760 and vice versa?

01:23:12.280 Patients have been requesting doctors of all races and colors because they heard that person

01:23:17.540 was good.

01:23:18.200 So they go to that doctor. 0.94

01:23:19.680 And now suddenly they're talking about black patients need to have a black doctor.

01:23:25.900 Could you imagine if the tables were turned and everybody said white patients needed to 0.80

01:23:30.640 have a white doctor?

01:23:32.240 It's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. 0.99

01:23:34.440 If not to mention you could never do it, there wouldn't be enough black doctors to treat all 1.00

01:23:39.360 of black patients and everybody I know.

01:23:44.100 And admittedly, I worked in a hospital in West Hollywood and a nice part of town.

01:23:51.840 But the black doctors I knew wanted to work at nice hospitals.

01:23:57.880 It's just not assumed because you're black that you want to go work in an underprivileged 0.68

01:24:05.100 hospital.

01:24:05.720 Yes, some do, but there's plenty of white doctors that work there too. 0.98

01:24:10.440 So some of the concepts that all this is built on are just plain wrong and it's divisive.

01:24:17.460 It's not good for patients.

01:24:19.340 Patients aren't thinking along those lines.

01:24:21.860 I'm sure every now and then there's going to be some butthead who is a butthead no matter 1.00

01:24:30.180 what, who says something that has a racist undertone or whatever.

01:24:35.720 That's always going to happen.

01:24:37.100 I don't care whether you're in medicine or anything else.

01:24:40.440 And there's always going to be those people.

01:24:42.640 There's always going to be sexist people and drunks who come in and say they don't want

01:24:47.820 some C word taking care of them and all that. 0.99

01:24:50.500 And you say, eh, you know, screw you. 0.99

01:24:53.020 I'm a good doctor. 0.99

01:24:55.540 This is who you get.

01:24:56.960 And somehow they shut up right quick.

01:25:00.180 So it angers me because I grew up when there wasn't fair housing in California.

01:25:09.220 And even though my father had a good occupation and we could afford it, we couldn't live where

01:25:15.940 we wanted to live.

01:25:17.300 And so I see how things had improved, improved, improved.

01:25:22.600 And then suddenly it was like falling off a cliff when they started all this focus on

01:25:29.240 race.

01:25:29.880 And it took black people away from moving ahead on our own power. 0.90

01:25:36.440 We didn't need the caring white liberal to get us ahead.

01:25:40.100 We had our own power. 0.97

01:25:41.700 And this is becoming a problem because it's sapping black doctors of their ego and of their 1.00

01:25:50.840 sense of pride in themselves.

01:25:52.840 And how can somebody who is a successful cardiac surgeon suddenly be an oppressed victim?

01:26:00.640 Well, they aren't.

01:26:02.140 And it's all a narrative designed to move our society in a different direction.

01:26:09.640 And now how does it change the dynamic between white doctors and black doctors in the hospital

01:26:15.200 or other settings?

01:26:15.920 Because now it's like you're wondering, as the white person, I'm thinking, does she see

01:26:21.860 me as the oppressor?

01:26:23.200 Does she think I'm a racist?

01:26:24.800 Because California is telling her in these continuing legal education courses every year

01:26:29.540 that I've got some implicit bias that's in there.

01:26:31.600 I'm out to get her.

01:26:32.760 I just think it creates this underlying dynamic of distrust.

01:26:37.500 Well, and it does and it shouldn't.

01:26:39.560 The thing is that the only thing that makes me hopeful about the whole thing is that most 0.99

01:26:46.660 people are kind of normal and they know this is bullshit. 0.93

01:26:50.680 They they've had friends for years and interacted with folks for years and know who's good and 0.99

01:27:01.060 who has the personality and who's the gynecologist to the stars who happens to be a black guy. 0.93

01:27:08.360 And they didn't pick him because he was black.

01:27:11.140 They picked him because he had a great personality and was a good surgeon.

01:27:14.740 All this sort of stuff.

01:27:16.540 This is how real people are.

01:27:19.100 And it's it's a veneer.

01:27:22.240 It's it's something in your last guest was talking about this transgender stuff being a performance.

01:27:28.400 And that's what a lot of this racial stuff is.

01:27:32.260 People are out there playing games, but they're playing games with people's lives.

01:27:36.900 But for the most part, yes, it is going to breed distrust and it's going to be the younger 0.58

01:27:43.240 folk who don't know any better.

01:27:45.600 The older guys, I'd say anybody late 40s plus, they know the score.

01:27:52.840 They know that a good doctor can come in any skin color and they're not going to judge people

01:27:58.620 by their color before.

01:28:00.260 Do you see, you know, at the college level, certainly they're throwing out the SAT.

01:28:05.900 They're throwing out standardized testing because they want to make sure that they can make sure

01:28:10.020 they have enough BIPOC in the incoming class if the Supreme Court outrules or outlaws the use of race at all.

01:28:17.140 And some say, OK, fine.

01:28:18.820 So we're going to have a very diverse looking college class no matter what.

01:28:22.800 When you make race the number one thing and you don't look at scores in medicine.

01:28:27.360 I mean, that is scary to a lot of people.

01:28:30.120 Like I, for one, want my pilots and my doctors chosen 100 percent unmerited, you know, like that.

01:28:36.060 We're talking about human lives.

01:28:37.460 So what do you make of that?

01:28:40.360 They're already talking about getting rid of the MCATs, which is like the SATs for medicine and going pass fail.

01:28:50.620 One can argue and it is argued that there's other factors that make a good doctor

01:28:55.960 other than being really good at science or knowing all your physics equations and all that.

01:29:01.800 And I grant you that I didn't major in science and I turned out to be a good doctor and got into good residencies and finish them.

01:29:11.180 I think what's disturbing is you don't want patients to think you're not a good doctor because of the color of your skin.

01:29:19.840 I had an older friend, an ENT doctor, whose father had to go in for prostate surgery.

01:29:29.740 Now, mind you, his father's daughter, my friend's sister, had her appendix out and the surgeon who operated on her was black.

01:29:40.180 And the father had picked out this surgeon.

01:29:42.340 And when he went in for his prostate surgery, the anesthesiologist was black. 0.64

01:29:48.040 And the first thing he asked him was, how old are you?

01:29:51.580 Did you go to school before affirmative action?

01:29:55.020 This is what you don't want.

01:29:57.460 And he was kind of old and getting senile.

01:30:00.500 But it was like the truth was coming out that people thinking that if you're post-affirmative action, that you're not as good as the other guy.

01:30:11.960 You may well be.

01:30:13.560 We don't know.

01:30:14.700 But you don't want patients to think that.

01:30:17.240 And you don't want to have people who aren't qualified.

01:30:20.400 Now, studies have come out and they said more minority residents aren't completing the residency.

01:30:27.440 And it's likely because they were chosen for the residency because of their color and not because of their skills.

01:30:34.180 They weren't kicked out because the people who are the head of the residency are racist.

01:30:39.680 If they didn't come up to a certain standard, then they're not going to finish the residency.

01:30:45.500 And what you mentioned, the idea of changing the standards, that is where we have to draw the line.

01:30:52.500 Merit is still merit.

01:30:54.800 And frankly, I think in more professions than just pilots and doctors, you want people to be good at it.

01:31:02.320 I want my firemen just chosen on strength and courage and all the other things, too.

01:31:06.360 Can I ask you before we go?

01:31:07.380 So I know that this is something on your radar as well.

01:31:10.560 But I've been asked, so what do you think is the answer?

01:31:13.800 You know, what do you think is the answer to sort of educating our kids?

01:31:16.360 And I've said, instead of talking about endlessly, endlessly, of course, we teach slavery, we teach Jim Crow. 0.74

01:31:21.900 But instead of endlessly highlighting the terrible plight of African-Americans in America,

01:31:26.880 why don't we start highlighting the amazing accomplishments of really strong, smart black people and holding them up instead of putting them down

01:31:35.140 so that these little kids just say, oh, my God, like all my people had this terrible history.

01:31:39.380 What does that mean for me?

01:31:40.300 As opposed to look at these amazing people.

01:31:43.640 And I know this is this is near and dear to your own heart.

01:31:47.280 Well, absolutely.

01:31:48.560 I think one of the first op eds I ever wrote was about the first black doctor who was a slave in the 1700s.

01:31:56.180 And his master made him a nurse and taught him how to be a doctor.

01:32:00.520 And then he ended up having a wonderful practice with patients of all colors.

01:32:05.000 So when kids hear this, I think we didn't think people who were slaves could ever do anything.

01:32:10.600 And some people didn't realize that 10 percent of black people in America were never slaves.

01:32:17.260 So there's so much history, but it's hidden.

01:32:21.280 Booker T. Washington had said now that we're talking all the way back in 1900.

01:32:25.000 He said there's a certain class of colored people who want to keep grievances in the forefront or else they'll lose their job.

01:32:34.840 This is 1900.

01:32:36.820 I'd say 120 years later, we've got those same people who want to keep the grievances up in the forefront rather than focus on progress and strength.

01:32:51.140 How do you how do you think it's going to go?

01:32:52.680 Do you see any reason to hope people are starting to see the light on this craziness? 0.87

01:32:58.200 I think they are, you know, that that silly expression, jumping the shark. 0.91

01:33:04.200 I think they've gone too far. 0.97

01:33:06.080 And.

01:33:07.560 I hope I'm not just being a Pollyanna about it, because all these years I think seeing things improve so much, I hate to see them devolve.

01:33:19.100 And when you talk to people offline, they know it's hokum. 0.79

01:33:24.880 But people have to feel like they've got to say, oh, yes, you know, we're systemically racist and do this and do that.

01:33:33.080 They're just saying it's all for show in their hearts. 0.99

01:33:36.760 They know that people are people and jerks will be jerks and good guys will be good guys. 0.98

01:33:43.080 You speaking out so forcefully will help them. 0.98

01:33:47.580 You know, I mean, part of it is just someone seeing the example and realizing, oh, you know, there is another way of thinking about this.

01:33:54.020 And I am not the only one thinking that way.

01:33:56.940 Marilyn, thank you so much.

01:33:57.980 Please come back.

01:33:58.780 I want to I want to have you back on medicine, on law, on all of this BS.

01:34:03.440 It's been a pleasure to meet you.

01:34:05.520 It's great to meet you.

01:34:06.840 Thanks.

01:34:07.280 And I'd be happy to come back.

01:34:09.240 All right.

01:34:09.540 It's done.

01:34:10.000 It's happening.

01:34:10.460 All the best to you.
