The Megyn Kelly Show - BREAKING： Donald Trump Survives Assassination Attempt at Rally, with Rich Lowry, Buck Sexton, Eric Bolling, Dennis Prager, Bill Stanton, and Jesse Kelly

00:00:00.640 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show, live on Sirius XM Channel 111 every weekday at New East.

00:00:11.720 Good evening, everyone. I'm Megyn Kelly. Thank you for tuning in to The Megyn Kelly Show.

00:00:16.240 As you may know by this point, there is breaking news out of Pennsylvania, Butler, Pennsylvania,

00:00:21.540 to be specific, this evening, where former President Donald Trump appears to have been

00:00:25.860 the victim of an attempted assassination. He was grazed by a bullet, according to local

00:00:33.660 authorities. The Butler County District Attorney, Richard Goldinger, telling The Washington Post

00:00:39.640 that Trump was grazed by gunfire but is safe. We are receiving similar messages from the Secret

00:00:45.760 Service that Trump is safe and that he's been removed from the scene, but he was bloodied

00:00:51.300 and he was grazed by gunfire. The latest reporting out of The Washington Post, again, citing the local

00:00:57.960 district attorney from Butler County, is that an audience member was killed and the shooter is dead

00:01:04.300 as well. Another person said to be in serious condition, according to this prosecutor. Again,

00:01:10.940 this is from the prosecutor to The Washington Post. To reiterate, Trump grazed by gunfire,

00:01:16.200 an audience member was killed. The shooter is also dead. Killed, we understand, by either

00:01:22.440 Secret Service or by local law enforcement, who we believe unleashed fire once the former president

00:01:29.220 had been grazed. Another person in serious condition at this hour, and that Donald Trump is receiving

00:01:37.220 medical care at this hour, and I'm sure it will be very thorough, even though he looks like he's all

00:01:42.320 right. They need to make absolutely sure that that's the case. We're going to play the video for you

00:01:46.900 now as we have it. You will hear two shots at the top, and we believe that that is the shooter. We believe

00:01:54.440 at this hour that what comes after is return gunfire by law enforcement. And in an incredible scene, you will

00:02:01.680 see President Trump get back to his feet, fist up in the air, appearing to say the words,

00:02:08.700 fight, fight, and the crowd breaks out in chants. Watch.

00:02:14.540 We see something that said, take a look at what happened.

00:02:17.040 Go to the car, go to the car, go to the car, go to the car, go to the car, go to the car.

00:02:29.780 Give it to the car.

00:02:35.540 On you ready? Ready.

00:02:45.540 Move. Move. Michelin.

00:02:46.680 Go.

00:02:47.840 Get ready. Get ready. Get ready.

00:02:49.780 Get ready. You ready.

00:02:53.160 Get ready.

00:02:53.900 Get ready.

00:02:57.480 Are we good? Shooters down. Are we good to move? 0.97

00:03:05.480 We're clear! We're clear!

00:03:07.480 We're clear!

00:03:16.480 Let me get my shoes. Let me get my shoes.

00:03:18.480 I got you, sir. I got you, sir.

00:03:19.480 Let me get my shoes, sir.

00:03:20.480 Hold that in your head. It's bloody. 1.00

00:03:22.480 Sir, we got to move to the class.

00:03:23.480 Move to the class.

00:03:25.480 Let me get my shoes.

00:03:26.480 Okay.

00:03:27.480 Let's do it, sir.

00:03:28.480 Let's do it.

00:03:29.480 Watch out.

00:03:30.480 Wait, wait, wait.

00:03:41.480 USA!

00:03:42.480 USA!

00:03:43.480 USA!

00:03:44.480 USA!

00:03:45.480 USA!

00:03:46.480 USA!

00:03:47.480 USA!

00:03:48.480 USA!

00:03:49.480 USA!

00:03:50.480 USA!

00:03:51.480 USA!

00:03:52.480 USA!

00:03:53.480 USA!

00:03:54.480 USA!

00:03:55.480 USA!

00:03:56.480 USA!

00:03:58.480 USA!

00:03:59.480 USA!

00:04:00.480 USA!

00:04:13.480 And there they exit with a former president into what appeared to be an SUV, though we don't

00:04:17.480 We don't see that final moment, an absolute showing of resilience and strength by Donald

00:04:23.760 Trump, who under the absolute worst of circumstances managed to stop the Secret Service as they were

00:04:30.100 escorting him out of a dangerous scene, saying to them, first, where are my shoes?

00:04:35.300 And then saying, wait, putting his right fist in the air with blood covering his face because

00:04:41.960 it's very clear he was hit.

00:04:43.700 But again, the word they're using is grazed along the ear, the right ear, blood on his

00:04:49.680 face, pumping his fist in the air.

00:04:52.020 And it seemed clear to me he mouthed the word fight, fight repeatedly.

00:04:57.440 And the crowd broke out into Chance of USA.

00:05:00.980 For the listening audience now, the the American flag being waved in the air above that fist.

00:05:07.960 This is a close up of the grazing along the upper part of his outer right ear.

00:05:14.540 And you could hear the former president speaking.

00:05:17.020 He sounded lucid and OK.

00:05:20.740 You know, the comment, where's my shoes?

00:05:23.520 You know, he wanted his shoes.

00:05:24.800 Makes you wonder whether he was confused about what exactly had just happened to him, as opposed

00:05:30.460 to just getting the heck out of there as someone was clearly trying to take the president's life.

00:05:35.460 If we kick off our special coverage right now with Rich Lowry of National Review, editor

00:05:39.520 of National Review, Rich, it's a shocking moment in American history, in the context of this

00:05:44.840 race and in the context of the messaging, almost universal, unless you're a fan of Donald Trump's

00:05:51.960 or a fair cover of him like like you are about the messaging around him, the rhetoric around

00:05:58.600 him.

00:05:58.740 I'm not blaming this on rhetoric, but we would be derelict if we did not mention how it has

00:06:04.480 been dialed up.

00:06:05.800 And in particular, it has been dialed up as I think the left feels this election starting

00:06:11.380 to slip away.

00:06:13.520 That's not to say that caused this.

00:06:15.280 We don't know who who pulled the trigger.

00:06:17.580 It's just there's been an atmosphere around this guy that has been dialed to an 11 for far

00:06:24.900 too long. And many of us believed it was only a matter of time before someone acted on it.

00:06:31.640 Stunning pictures here. This one is of President Trump on the ground, bloody with his hand nearby

00:06:37.300 his face, trying to recover from what could have been an assassination. Your thoughts on

00:06:43.440 what we're witnessing today?

00:06:44.400 I want to weep for my country. It's just it's horrible. It's it's there are no words for how

00:06:52.720 terrible this is and how terrible, more terrible could have been. I mean, we were.

00:06:58.280 Centimeter, how far away from President Trump's head being blown off at a rally on live television.

00:07:05.880 And these are moments, Megan, the reason why, you know, assassinations fascinate people,

00:07:10.640 one of the reasons history telescope telescopes down to inches and seconds. Right. If JFK's

00:07:17.180 driver had sped up rather than slow down to see what was happening after the first one or

00:07:22.800 two shots, JFK would have survived that assassination attempt. If the Archduke Ferdinand won, they

00:07:29.480 threw a bomb at him, which didn't work. If he just said, we're not doing anything else.

00:07:33.100 But he had kind of a Trump like spirit. He's like, we're going through this whole ceremony

00:07:36.100 in Sarajevo. I don't care. And when he was heading back, we actually went to the hospital

00:07:40.680 to see the people hurt from the bomb. If the car had not turned, made a wrong turn down

00:07:44.560 a narrow street that it couldn't get out of, that happened to be that Gabriel Princip, one

00:07:49.280 of the assassination team was just standing there not knowing what to do, was standing right

00:07:52.920 there at that moment. He would have lived in all of history would have been different.

00:07:56.180 That was the most consequential assassination in world history. But that that that moment of

00:08:01.800 Trump pumping his fist shows what a sense of the moment, right? We get in fender benders

00:08:08.500 where your head goes back a little bit and you're kind of shocked. You don't know what

00:08:12.620 happened to you or it takes a little while to get your senses to know that what that moment

00:08:17.480 called for was strength and reassuring his supporters. When you're right, how does he

00:08:21.960 know? The Secret Service thinks the threat's been neutralized. That's why they're picking

00:08:24.520 him up. How does he know, right? He's just been inches from being killed. How does he know

00:08:29.920 that? That that is an image that will live throughout American political history?

00:08:35.120 Rich, I, I don't know about you, but I feel infuriated right now. I am angry over what is,

00:08:45.740 has been done to this man. You and I sat together in 2015 and national review said not, not Trump,

00:08:54.880 not this guy. Here we are all these years later. I see him so differently. Yes, he's got character

00:09:00.380 plus, of course, but this is, this is the embodiment of strength in the face of an unbelievable

00:09:08.800 onslaught, emotional, financial free with when it comes to his freedom. And now his life literally

00:09:18.340 with a bullet having shot him in the head, his fist is in the air and he's telling the crowd

00:09:26.000 and all of us fight, fight for your country, fight for what we're all in this for. Don't let them shoot

00:09:34.080 you down. Don't let them shoot down your ideals. Don't let them ruin the country. I, I've never seen

00:09:40.340 anything like this. Yeah. So high politics is about, you know, it's about policy and ideas,

00:09:46.000 but a lot of it's about emotion. And this is a guy, you know, one reason we couldn't stop him

00:09:51.740 when we, when we tried in the primaries in 2016 is he, he understood a crowd. He understood the

00:09:58.380 moment he, he, he got feeling and could play off of it. And this is just the, the, the very pinnacle

00:10:05.240 of this, that, that was just an epic reaction. And again, it will never be forgotten. And what you

00:10:10.520 opened with on the rhetoric, who knows who the shooter was. And, but, but if you literally think

00:10:15.900 he's Hitler, that's what they're telling us, right? The president United States incumbent 0.85

00:10:19.920 is telling us that, and maybe in not so many words, what's the proper reaction? Just voting

00:10:25.480 against them and hoping things turn out right. If you take it seriously, I think we've learned

00:10:30.140 a lot of Democrats actually don't take it seriously, but unfortunately a lot of people do. If you

00:10:33.960 take it seriously, what do you do? If it's existential for American democracy, for our system of government,

00:10:39.940 our way of life, what do you do? Maybe you do whoever that, that, uh, apparent shooter on the

00:10:46.340 rooftop, maybe you do what he did. There is, um, video. I don't know if we have it or can show it

00:10:54.260 of a shooter. Forgive me. We don't know that this is the shooter of what appears to be a man

00:11:00.400 lying on a rooftop nearby. And the reports are online are that that's the shooter and he's dead.

00:11:06.100 He's motionless and he's lying down. Um, we're going to, we, I've spoken with somebody who was

00:11:13.200 at the rally and we're going to have him call in talking about the security, but it was tight

00:11:17.840 as it would be for any secret service event with the former president, nevermind the leading contender

00:11:23.140 for the GOP nomination, which of course takes place next week as a formal matter. And so this

00:11:30.080 person in order to have a gun rich, you know, anywhere near shooting range of this president,

00:11:35.900 I mean, it does make you wonder how he did it, whether he had help, how on earth anybody was

00:11:42.760 within shooting range of the, this man, Donald Trump from a rooftop, all of that is going to be

00:11:48.600 investigated. Uh, but you've got to say kudos to local law enforcement or the secret service,

00:11:54.800 whoever took this guy out because it all happened in seconds. Yeah. So the, you know, all the

00:12:00.900 professionals say, and it just seems as though just watching as an amateur, their reaction to this

00:12:05.260 was pitch perfect. I mean, they, they immediately go on Trump. They're protecting him with their

00:12:09.680 bodies, which apparently moving act, uh, putting themselves on the line, but, but there are going

00:12:15.340 to be questions that, you know, according to Twitter, who knows things are going to change.

00:12:19.620 We're going to learn more, you know, as, as we speak, you know, just during, during this segment,

00:12:24.300 probably we're, we're learning more, but, um, how is it there, there are indications that people are

00:12:29.760 pointing to this guy on the rooftop and he got the shots off before the secret service got him.

00:12:34.580 Maybe it was unavoidable, who knows, but there are going to be a lot of questions. So it looks like

00:12:39.160 the reaction was a secret service success, but I think there'd be questions about how this guy was

00:12:43.720 able to get within range. And initially it seemed like there's some speculation. Maybe it's a BB

00:12:47.960 because it's, you know, when you get shot in your ear, you just, it's not just a little blood,

00:12:53.640 right? It's a horrible event. And it seems as though no one else was hurt. But now, of course,

00:12:58.180 we got in the reports of other people in the crowd, tragically hurt. We've seen that video

00:13:02.980 of the, uh, the Trump supporter who was there and his emergency room doctor, I believe was trying to

00:13:08.380 save someone with a grievous head wound and didn't. So, so this was a furious, a fascination

00:13:14.700 attempt. And if, if anyone comes this close to, to being killed, that's under secret service

00:13:21.260 protections, there are going to be a lot of critical questions afterwards. Uh, we have that

00:13:26.340 video again. This is of, uh, an ER doctor who was on the scene. Let's take a listen.

00:13:31.280 That's exactly where I heard him come from. What did you see, sir? Um, I heard the shots. Um, I,

00:13:38.080 um, I thought it was firecrackers to begin with. Um, somebody over there was screaming,

00:13:42.620 he's been shot, he's been shot. So I made my way over. Uh, I said, I'm an emergency department

00:13:48.160 physician. Let me help you. The guy had spun around, was jammed between the benches. He

00:13:54.260 had a headshot here. There was lots of blood and he had brain matter. So I got him, there's

00:14:02.920 a helicopter coming in to get him. Uh, so, uh, I got people there really helpful. I got

00:14:09.340 one. Well, that's horrible. I mean, that is horrifying, rich. And you in, I mean, we don't

00:14:24.960 know it, we don't have the angle straight, but clearly, as you point out within a, within

00:14:29.060 a couple of centimeters that could have been president Trump and God prayers go out to

00:14:35.180 the family of the, of the Trump supporter. That's how it appears, uh, who was shot and

00:14:39.580 killed just there to support a president in advance of an election, not, not to have his

00:14:44.540 brain matter spilled out all over the ground. What is this country coming to rich?

00:14:51.580 Yeah. Talk about, uh, an offense against American democracy to attend what's become a kind of a

00:14:57.220 civic ritual for half the country. These Trump rallies, which are so epic and iconic and be

00:15:03.340 killed is just, it's beyond words. It's just horrific and profoundly wrong. And again, we're

00:15:11.260 just, we're tremendously lucky that, that Trump himself wasn't killed and it's, it'd be a human

00:15:17.200 tragedy, a family tragedy just for him and the people around him. But it would just be an unbelievably

00:15:23.660 awful thing for the country because these assassinations, they are deranging events and our

00:15:29.660 politics is deranged already. It would get much, much worse. I mean, we still, we're still arguing

00:15:34.940 over who killed JFK, right? You know, 50 or 60 years later. So this is why it's extremely important

00:15:41.820 to make sure this never, ever happens. And whatever these security arrangements were going into this,

00:15:47.900 obviously they, they need to be heightened, but Trump, you know, there was a big thing on the January

00:15:52.140 6th commission. Oh, we didn't want the people to be magged or to go through electric detectors on

00:15:58.140 January 6th. It's because he's always, he wants to be out there. He wants the crowd to be big and

00:16:03.260 to have a good time and not have to wait forever. And he trusts them, right? The reason, when this is

00:16:08.780 a big scandal that Trump supposedly want people to bring weapons in proximity to the Capitol,

00:16:13.180 someone was telling me, he always joked with the Secret Service about, these are my people,

00:16:16.460 just let them in. It'll be fine. But anyone who's out there and any crowd like that,

00:16:20.620 that no matter how secret, how much Secret Service protection is, you are ultimately putting your

00:16:24.940 body on, on the line. And we saw this dramatic evidence of that this afternoon.

00:16:30.700 And Rich, here is the, the report that I got, uh, from this is these, he is the father of my friend.

00:16:39.260 Uh, his name is Larry Wood. And he said that, uh, there were tens of thousands there by his estimation

00:16:45.420 that he heard a single gunshot. Uh, he and his wife were seated farther back.

00:16:51.020 Then another, then a pause. And then the rapid fire that there were state police everywhere.

00:16:56.300 And I asked him about the security and he said it was tight and that they were forced to go

00:17:02.220 through a magnetometer. And even they, as an older couple, uh, were not allowed to bring in,

00:17:07.660 his wife had a long umbrella and she couldn't bring it in. Right. So they understand it always

00:17:13.340 amps up when the former president is there. And it amps up even more as he inches closer and closer

00:17:18.780 to becoming the nominee again. So they wouldn't let her in with the long umbrella. So they had to

00:17:25.260 be seated farther back. And then they saw what we saw, which was he appeared to get hit, um, from

00:17:32.060 on the right side, from a shooter who was off, off to the right. And then the crowd went, went nuts.

00:17:39.020 I mean, people started to realize it, you know, he started to realize he said, first, he thought it

00:17:42.380 was maybe fireworks. He wasn't sure. And then they, they realized it was gunshots and that they needed

00:17:48.380 to get out of there. And you think about, you know, it's not just Donald Trump. It's not just this poor

00:17:53.740 Trump supporter who appears to have been murdered today. Forget the shooter. It's, it is the old,

00:18:01.500 it is men and women who are just out there to support their country, their preferred candidate

00:18:06.220 to show their love of the stars and stripes days after July 4th. And what they think it stands for

00:18:11.520 by potentially voting for this man. And they get scared to with an inch, an inch of their lives

00:18:16.380 running for their safety because they showed up at a Trump rally. That's what, that's what they did

00:18:21.540 today. That's what Larry and his wife did today to show up at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania,

00:18:25.320 the heart of the nation, part of the heartland, and probably the most critical state in this election

00:18:30.800 as in, in another universe, rich, we hear every other day that Trump's Hitler, that he's the demon.

00:18:39.740 We hear from the president himself this week that it's time to put a bullseye on Trump. I'm not blaming

00:18:49.220 this on Joe Biden, but I would be remiss in my duty if I did not point out that he, he just on July 8th

00:18:58.220 said to a group of Democrats whom he was trying to shore up about his mental acuity quote, we're done

00:19:04.400 talking about the debate. It's time to put Trump in a bullseye. The left, I mean, the headlines in the

00:19:11.960 New York times rich when Sarah Palin had what looked like a gun site on certain districts prior

00:19:19.560 to Gabby Giffords being shot led to litigation that went on for years about whether she had been

00:19:26.640 the subject of what she called the blood libel. And now you've got the sitting president who's been

00:19:32.200 so loose with his language. He called Kyle Rittenhouse, a white supremacist, despite the fact

00:19:37.180 that there was zero evidence for that. And none of it was, it was born out in that trial.

00:19:41.320 And he said, it's time to put Trump in a bullseye days ago. It's just totally irresponsible.

00:19:51.520 Yeah. So if the Sarah Palin standard applies, and of course it never does. It only applies to people

00:19:56.240 on, on the right. President Biden would be blamed for this. Uh, so many other people on the left would

00:20:01.080 be blamed for this, but they, they shouldn't call Trump a Nazi because one is untrue. And two, it does

00:20:06.660 work people up in a way that's extremely unhealthy and potentially dangerous. So they, they should

00:20:12.900 stop it, but they, they never will because it's so, so useful to them and makes them feel, feel good.

00:20:19.600 They like the sound of the, those words, uh, coming out of their, their mouths. And a lot of them

00:20:25.040 have just simply lost their minds. So you'd hope there'd be a return to sanity, you know, on Twitter

00:20:30.820 now, all the statements are, let's cool down the rhetoric. They're not going to, you know,

00:20:34.280 that's going to last 24 hours. And then we'll bet back to the same thing again.

00:20:40.860 Here's what they're saying, Rich. Um, you know, I, I, it's taken the president over an hour to

00:20:47.480 finally put out a statement. Barack Obama put out a statement before Joe Biden did. I understand when

00:20:53.900 you're the president of the United States, you need to be careful. You know, it's, it's more important

00:20:58.860 what Joe Biden says than it is what Barack Obama says, but I understand it took too long and Barack

00:21:05.060 Obama should not have gone first. Barack Obama, for what it's worth said as follows. There is

00:21:08.860 absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don't yet know exactly what

00:21:14.240 happened. We should all be relieved that former president Trump was not seriously hurt and use

00:21:18.960 this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Heal your own party,

00:21:25.340 sir. Heal your own party. He finishes it with Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.

00:21:30.720 And this from the president, Joe Biden moments ago, I have been briefed on this shooting at Donald

00:21:38.080 Trump's rally in Pennsylvania. I'm grateful to hear that he's safe and doing well and praying for him

00:21:42.880 and his family. And for all those who are at the rally, as we await further information. Um,

00:21:48.300 and it looks like it was that signed by Jill and Joe trying to say, Oh no, Jill and I are grateful

00:21:54.160 to the secret service for getting him to safety. There's no place for this kind of violence in

00:21:59.240 America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it. This is we get news per CBS and Ed O'Keefe

00:22:05.500 that a Joe Biden campaign official tells CBS news. The Biden campaign is now pausing all outbound

00:22:11.800 communications working to pull down their television ads as quickly as possible. Of course, um, they

00:22:20.520 would have to enrich that would be standard in an event like this. Yeah. That statement's fine. It's

00:22:26.600 not particularly eloquent or moving, but it's fine. You know, it's what you'd say kind of replacement

00:22:32.240 level statement about this kind of event. But I kind of, can I come back, Megan, to the reaction of the

00:22:36.480 crowd? Cause I thought that was very telling. And you noted how they started chanting USA. I think

00:22:40.820 there are three things notable. One, a lot of these people in the front, they, they were standing

00:22:45.160 up too. They, they, they were not going to be cowed, right? Then they chant USA, this patriotic

00:22:50.740 reaction. And then, and one of the videos you've seen over and over again from, from the front as

00:22:55.240 Trump's being led down the steps, you see as he's, he's going towards the beast. There are a couple

00:23:00.100 guys and they give the finger to, I think, you know, back towards the media or just in general.

00:23:06.000 So I think that's also very telling. That's, that's the level of, that's the natural

00:23:10.680 reaction of defiance that a lot of Trump supporters are going to feel. Right. And if there is any doubt

00:23:17.220 about the enthusiasm for Trump, there's none now, there's none now.

00:23:22.820 No. I mean, we said after the law fair, many people said we'd walk over broken glass, you know,

00:23:28.320 to vote for him at this point, just as a, as a statement about who we are as a, as a country,

00:23:32.000 even if Donald Trump is necessarily your preferred candidate, he's not your perfect candidate.

00:23:37.740 Now, I mean, I've got to ask you how this changes the politics, Rich. And this,

00:23:43.840 this is not confirmed. This is from Charlie Kirk, who's very, very tight with all things Trump and

00:23:48.540 all team Trump, uh, who says he's seeing reports that president Trump will be at tonight's UFC fight

00:23:56.000 with Dana white warrior spirit. I mean, because it's Donald Trump, it's possible, you know,

00:24:03.200 you can't rule that right out and say, no, no chance. I'd probably bet on it. I'd probably bet on

00:24:08.100 it. I mean, the other thing, go, go back there to go, go hold a bigger rally there tomorrow. You

00:24:13.300 know, the, another Trump like move, but, but this is, we got it. We got it. Yeah. We got to talk

00:24:20.500 about the politics for a minute because all of my friends were texting me and I was texting them.

00:24:27.420 And the number one thing I was hearing was Trump just won the presidency. Like they're the,

00:24:34.740 the Donald Trump voters, there's nothing that will keep them away on election day. I don't,

00:24:42.360 it doesn't matter how long the lines are. It doesn't matter what the weather is. It doesn't

00:24:46.980 matter. Nothing matters. They will, they will be there. This will activate the establishment wing

00:24:53.280 of the Republican party. This will activate right leaning independence. It will be a message. It

00:24:59.620 will be the middle finger that we saw at that rally to anybody who would behave like this. And,

00:25:06.300 and the people who behave so irresponsibly in creating the messaging about him, comparing him to

00:25:13.620 mass murderers over and over and over. What do you think? Yeah. Yeah. Well, there'll be a bump

00:25:21.380 based on sympathy and then I'll, then I'll go into the convention, maybe be indistinguishable from a

00:25:26.760 bumpy gets at the convention, but the convention itself, we like there'll be moments we've never

00:25:31.720 seen before. Right. No one has walked onto a convention stage having within days, having been the

00:25:38.120 subject to the target of a serious assassination attempt. I mean, the roof will blow off the place.

00:25:44.740 So this, if there is any doubt about the get out the vote effort, you probably don't need one,

00:25:49.340 right? You probably don't need one. But I do think a lot of people in this race are kind of dug in.

00:25:54.840 This will increase the odds of Trump winning, but I'm just hesitant to ever say it's, it's put away.

00:26:00.400 I mean, we, we saw what happened with Joe Biden at that debate. Obviously you, you called it right

00:26:05.080 away that there are going to be efforts to, to dump them, but you had a Washington post poll that had

00:26:09.040 the race tied and an NPR poll that had Biden head to, I think both of those probably outliers.

00:26:13.680 That's not really where the race is, but it just shows a lot of people are going to vote for Joe

00:26:19.080 Biden no matter what. So I was still, you know, on the deep speculation, the reporting has been,

00:26:25.180 Trump's been focused on, I don't need a governing pick. I need an electoral pick. Someone who's just

00:26:28.980 going to help me get this, get this done. And I would still have that attitude even after this

00:26:34.140 terrific event. Oh my gosh. Um, I know you're a praying man, you're a Christian as am I. And,

00:26:41.820 um, I know we're both praying for president Trump and for the families of the, the, the fan who

00:26:48.600 appears to have lost his life. And we will learn more at any moment about the shooter and his

00:26:54.520 background, rich, um, don't go too far, please. We'd love to come back to you. Thank you so much for

00:26:58.640 being with us on our breaking coverage. Really appreciate it. Uh, I want to get to Eric bowling,

00:27:03.680 who is, uh, close with Mr. Trump has been close with the Trump campaign and has been following all

00:27:09.220 of this as well. Um, Eric Tucker said it, I said it, you said it, many people who have been watching

00:27:19.580 the escalation against Trump in every forum. It's not like a random newspaper article or a passing

00:27:28.200 comment by Sarah Palin. It's everywhere in the media that he's the devil, that he's Hitler,

00:27:38.840 that literally our democracy is on the line, that there will be no more America if he wins.

00:27:47.800 And it's been grossly irresponsible. Before I bring you in to react to it, let me just show you,

00:27:55.220 this is Tucker. He said, he said this to us. He said this to a few, but here,

00:27:59.360 is this, you guys, is this Tucker? Yeah, this is Tucker with Trump. Watch this.

00:28:04.420 Started with protests against you, massive protests, organized protests by the left. And then it moved to

00:28:10.220 impeachment twice. And now indictment. I mean, the next stage is, is violence is, are you worried that

00:28:16.420 they're going to try and kill you? Why wouldn't they try and kill you? Honestly.

00:28:19.200 Uh, they're savage animals. They are people that are sick, really sick. You have great people in 1.00

00:28:26.900 the Democrat party. You have great people that are Democrats. Most of the people in our country are

00:28:31.440 fantastic. And I'm representing everybody. I'm not just Republican, but I've seen what they do.

00:28:36.200 I've seen the lengths that they go to. But these people are sick people. These are people that, 1.00

00:28:41.340 uh, I think they hate our country. You want to know the truth?

00:28:48.620 Just to reiterate, a spokesman for the Secret Service tonight saying Trump is safe right now,

00:28:53.520 for those just joining us after an incident occurred at his rally, he is safe. He did not

00:28:57.720 provide further details. Uh, members of the Secret Service, removing the press and declaring this

00:29:02.860 a crime scene, which indeed it is, Eric, your reaction to the president of the United States,

00:29:07.340 the former president of the United States and presumptive GOP nominee being the victim of an

00:29:12.780 attempted assassination hours ago. And, and a friend and a personal friend, Megan, um, I heard

00:29:19.920 it. I thought it was, it must've been some sort of joke to watch, to watch it. I mean, the video,

00:29:27.040 just, just watch when he realizes a bullet just grazed his ear. He starts to get down. Listen,

00:29:34.460 they've tried to assassinate this man's character. They've tried to assassinate his bank account.

00:29:39.260 They tried to imprison him. And now they've tried to literally assassinate the man when all the other

00:29:44.700 ones failed. And this one failed too. There's, there's a path of destiny. Let's call it that.

00:29:49.660 If you're, if you're a God fearing person, God's looking down and said one quarter of an inch,

00:29:56.860 maybe a, a millimeter, a couple of millimeters or a centimeter to the right. He's done. He's gone.

00:30:03.180 It's over. And then what, where's the country? So the destiny state, um, uh, if Richard Lowry

00:30:11.100 doesn't want to do it, I'll do it. It'll be a slam dunk. It'll be a landslide when maybe

00:30:16.220 nothing we've seen since Mondale lost 49 states to Reagan, 1984. So if the presidency is over,

00:30:24.220 but questions, are they finished? Are they done trying to kill a man? I don't know. Will there be

00:30:28.780 another assassination attempt? Will they wait till he's president then do it? I don't, is this a

00:30:34.140 group? Is this a lone, a lone wolf? You know, psychotics, people are saying it's an Antifa member.

00:30:40.860 The guys, you know, some of the pictures that were circulated and looked like he was here.

00:30:45.100 Unconfirmed. We're not going to, we're not going to mention anybody's name, but yes,

00:30:48.380 there are all sorts of rumors as there always are after this kind of an event on the internet.

00:30:51.740 Yeah. But, but will they do it again? Will they try again? And my guess is sadly, yes. And, and,

00:30:57.100 and frankly, the, you know, Trump, he just likes to get out amongst the people, amongst the people,

00:31:01.100 go into a Chick-fil-A or, or a, you know, a Cuban bakery in Miami, tell the secret services to stop.

00:31:10.060 He's getting out. He leaves himself so vulnerable, but I think Elon Musk said he's the toughest president

00:31:16.220 and, you know, also just won the election. That's, that's how this feels. Um, there's

00:31:25.740 literally been bloodshed now from the former president. A man has lost his life or a woman.

00:31:31.420 We don't know that the sex of the, of the Trump fan who, according to the local prosecutor has been

00:31:36.380 killed on the scene. Again, the information is that the shooter is dead as well. And we will be

00:31:41.020 getting more information on what I presume is a him in the hours and days to come. Um,

00:31:47.500 just getting more and more detail here. There are some eyewitnesses wondering how many shooters there

00:31:52.620 were. As you see, we saw this after JFK. I mean, here we are all these years after JFK, 60 years,

00:31:59.020 we're still speculating about how many shooters were at the scene. There will be a full investigation,

00:32:02.860 uh, on what direction the shots came from and whether it was more than one. Um, there is something,

00:32:09.660 again, I I'm not blaming this. That's a, that's a, yeah, go ahead.

00:32:16.300 Go ahead. No, well, my, my, I just want to jump in when you were talking, you're, you're reading

00:32:21.420 and I'm thinking Megan at this moment, you know, that the left paints the, the Trump, the MAGA

00:32:26.700 supporter as an extremist. They're, they're violent extremists and, and they go apoplectic every time

00:32:32.300 Trump, you know, says one of his throwaway lines. I could shoot someone on fifth Avenue and, 1.00

00:32:36.940 and I'd still get, you'd still vote. They'd still vote for me. He does it to just have fun. 0.99

00:32:42.540 I mean, it's a funny guy. He talks these in these metaphors and whatnot, but they take it literally.

00:32:47.100 And in the bottom line, the reality is they just tried to take out the leading and Republican

00:32:55.420 contender for the United States presidency. And that couldn't have been someone from the right.

00:32:59.660 I'll just say they, it may be too early for, you know, what about them? But good Lord, if it was

00:33:06.780 Biden, they'd be all over Trump saying it's, it's his fault. It's Trump's fault.

00:33:11.740 One hundred percent. That's exactly right. And look at what they've done. Look at what they've done.

00:33:17.580 I mean, Tucker was outlining some of it in that question to Trump, but they've indicted the man

00:33:22.140 four times. They've weaponized the justice system at the federal and state level against him

00:33:27.260 in a truly unprecedented move that we went almost 250 years without doing in this country.

00:33:35.580 They sued him and they shut down the Trump organization in New York, the city that he loves,

00:33:41.740 the city in which he came up, the city that he put on the map in some certain ways over the years.

00:33:47.420 And it turned on him and crushed his business thanks to this rabid attorney general who completely

00:33:53.420 tried to bring him down based on some, some law that was never used in this way before.

00:34:00.060 They put this past week, Steve Bannon in jail for a contempt of Congress charge. Peter Navarro to

00:34:10.220 Merrick Garland, the attorney general is in contempt of Congress, the same thing and isn't going to jail.

00:34:18.460 Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress when Barack Obama and didn't go to jail.

00:34:24.300 This is at most turned into a civil thing under most presidents. If you're in contempt of Congress,

00:34:28.940 you don't turn over, you don't give them the testimony they want. Only when you're a Trump

00:34:32.540 appointee does it become a matter for you to be behind bars. And while we're on the subject of Steve

00:34:37.420 Bannon, he too repeatedly has warned that they're going to try to take Trump out. And indeed,

00:34:45.660 he sits behind bars right now, unable to react to this because he's been jailed by these very same

00:34:52.620 people. And Trump now was grazed by a bullet. They're starting to realize, I think the people that

00:35:03.740 who bought this whole idea that Biden was the grand unified, but they weren't, they never were.

00:35:09.660 They were violent in the summer of 2020 and they looked the other way and they said,

00:35:14.060 that wasn't violent. That was peaceful protest. They called January 6th an insurrection and a

00:35:21.820 threat to democracy when January, I'm sorry, summer of 2020 was far more violent and more deadly and

00:35:28.540 more expensive than January 6th was. The unfair, the bias in the media and really the zeitgeist is

00:35:37.100 incredible. Finally, they're starting to come around. The celebrities have realized Biden can't win.

00:35:41.820 But this, let's see, let's see if they step up to the plate and say,

00:35:47.580 we were wrong. We blame the right for being violent extremists. And the only violence I've

00:35:53.500 seen right now in this 2024 has been inflicted on Donald Trump, not on Joe Biden or anyone else.

00:36:00.220 The media reaction.

00:36:06.540 Yeah, I'm sorry, but it's been disgusting so far. The CNN headline while they were on the air and it

00:36:15.500 was very clear that we had heard gunshots and you know, they were repeated. The CNN headline on their

00:36:22.380 politics site was secret service rushes Trump offstage after he falls at rally after he falls.

00:36:31.180 The, the description of like the, the level of gravity being used by Wolf Blitzer earlier

00:36:38.780 did not match the moment. You know, sometimes this happens and it's always sad when it happens,

00:36:45.020 you know, like it was somebody throwing an egg at Donald Trump. The man was shot centimeters away

00:36:51.660 from being killed. And two people were killed, the shooter and an innocent.

00:36:56.780 You do not say he fell off the stage. You do not say, it's sad, you know, and this kind of thing,

00:37:03.100 you know, but it does happen. When does it happen? Lincoln was assassinated. JFK was assassinated.

00:37:09.020 Ronald Reagan got shot in front of our very eyes and survived. Donald Trump got shot. This thing

00:37:16.300 doesn't just happen. There are decades, thank God, between this kind of thing. It's a massive news

00:37:22.780 story and there, there's a reason for it. Eric Wolf Blitzer knows that CNN knows that it's their hatred

00:37:30.620 for him that makes it hard for them to even get the proper emotion out on a night like this.

00:37:36.700 You know, I was waiting to see you. You're just a human being. Forget President, President Biden.

00:37:45.100 You see this happen to your opponent. You get in front of the American people and say, stop,

00:37:48.940 this is not right. We don't do this here. This is not what America is about, represents.

00:37:55.900 It was at least an hour, if not an hour and a half before that statement got released that looked like

00:38:01.820 some aide wrote it and maybe even used AI or chat GPT to write the thing, cold, insensitive.

00:38:10.700 They're not, they're done. Their goose is cooked. But I'm not suggesting we wanted to hear, Megan,

00:38:18.780 what Joe Biden had to say about it, but it would have been the right thing to do. RFK Jr. got out

00:38:24.140 within minutes. Within minutes, he made a statement, this isn't right. We have to denounce violence and all,

00:38:29.420 you know, coming from all directions. So Biden took an hour and a half, at least maybe longer,

00:38:34.780 and then released a statement that, I don't know, sounded a little bit more political than actual

00:38:39.900 to me. Very generic. And by the way, this is the same man, Joe Biden, who will not authorize

00:38:44.140 Secret Service protection for RFKJ, who, you know, by giving the polls is in at least in the double

00:38:50.620 digits, which is remarkable for a candidate running as an independent. Why is he running as an independent,

00:38:55.260 even though he's a Democrat, because the Democrats rigged the system such that he couldn't get on any

00:38:59.340 Democrat primary stage or balloting as a Dem and has been under serious threat, according to him

00:39:05.740 and his campaign. And yet, notwithstanding the fact that his father was assassinated,

00:39:09.100 that his uncle was assassinated and that he's facing threats and is a Kennedy. Nope. Joe Biden said,

00:39:14.940 no. Right now we are just receiving an on camera statement from the president of the United States.

00:39:22.380 Joe Biden made it on cam. The comments run two minutes. Let's watch.

00:39:26.300 So what we know now, I have tried to get a hold of Donald. Uh, he's with his doctors. Uh, they,

00:39:35.580 apparently he's doing well. I plan on talking to him shortly. I hope when I get back to the, uh,

00:39:42.460 telephone. Look, there's no place in America for this kind of violence. It's sick. It's sick.

00:39:49.420 It's one of the reasons why we have to unite this country. We cannot allow for this to be happening.

00:39:54.140 We cannot be like this. We cannot condone this. And so, and I want to thank the secret service and

00:40:00.380 all the agencies, including the state agencies that have been engaged in making sure that the

00:40:05.100 people who, and we have more detail to come relative to the other injured, other people

00:40:09.980 may be injured in the audience. I don't have all that detail. We'll make that available to you.

00:40:14.780 I may be able to come back a little later tonight, but we'll put out a statement if we don't,

00:40:19.420 if I'm not able to get before, if it's not convenient for you all. But the bottom line is

00:40:24.700 that the Trump rally is a rally that he should have been able to be conducted peacefully without

00:40:29.980 any problem. But the idea, the idea that there's political violence or violence in America like

00:40:36.540 this is just unheard of. It's just not appropriate. And we, everybody, everybody must condemn it.

00:40:42.060 Everybody. I'll keep you informed. And if I am able to speak to Donald, I'll let you know that as well.

00:40:49.180 But so far, it appears he's doing well, number one. Number two, that they're thoroughly investigating

00:40:56.620 what happened to anyone else in the audience. I have, we have some reports, but not final reports.

00:41:02.860 And every agency in the federal government, I'll be, and I'm going back to my phone to speak with

00:41:09.260 the federal agencies that are being put together again to give me an updated briefing.

00:41:12.860 If anything happened, they learned more in the last couple of hours. So thank you very much.

00:41:17.660 And I hope I get to speak to them tonight and I'll get back to you if I do. Okay.

00:41:21.820 Did not take questions. Standby. I'm just getting more information now. New details. Let's see. I

00:41:32.940 don't know who this is. Hold on a second. I just want to make sure I'm, before I read this to you,

00:41:36.700 I know who's, who's providing this senior investigative, senior investigative producer

00:41:41.740 for CBS news. Okay. New details from Pat Milton. As I said, the title shooter was outside the cordoned

00:41:50.700 off area of the rally. That would make sense with my eyewitness who is there. Larry was outside the

00:41:58.220 cordoned off area of the rally, a couple of hundred yards away from Trump. The shooter was standing on

00:42:04.140 an elevated structure, was shot and killed by a member of the U S secret service counter assault team.

00:42:09.900 The shooter weapon was a rifle. The shooter weapon was a rifle. I mean, it's,

00:42:15.660 it's he very easily could be dead right now. He could have been killed literally within inches.

00:42:23.340 Eric, Trump almost had his head blown off tonight.

00:42:27.260 When you watch that video, he's talking straight to the straight ahead, just 12 o'clock. He's talking

00:42:34.700 12 o'clock. He turns to the right, his right. And he starts talking to that portion of the crowd.

00:42:41.420 That's where the bullet came from. It appears that it came from that direction. Either way,

00:42:46.140 if he's still talking straight, he's dead because the bullet would have hit the back of his head.

00:42:52.780 But the fact that he turned, which looks like in the direction it came from or if it came from behind,

00:42:57.900 he turned eliminating the back of his head for the shooter. It was a matter of maybe 20 seconds.

00:43:04.220 So let's, let's watch it. We actually just got new video in of the moment that, that he took the shot.

00:43:10.860 Um, it's a little bit closer up. I, is my understanding. I haven't seen it either. Let's

00:43:14.300 watch took over and look what happened to our country. Probably 20 million people.

00:43:22.460 And you know, that's a little bit old that chart, that chart's a couple of months old. And

00:43:26.700 if you want to really see something that said, take a look at what happened.

00:43:33.260 Whoa, whoa, whoa. What the hell is that?

00:43:36.860 There he is from afar with the fist up.

00:43:57.180 Let's just play the original one again, because it's, it's just the most remarkable minute of tape

00:44:03.500 I may have ever seen as you see the former president United States get shot and then stand

00:44:10.220 back up, tell the secret service, trying to escort him out to wait so he can look at the crowd,

00:44:16.140 raises fist in the air, say the word fight. That's what I see in here. And then they break

00:44:22.700 out into the USA chant. Watch it. We see something that said, take a look at what happened.

00:44:33.500 Move the spare, hold, hold. When you're ready, on you. Ready. Move, move.

00:44:57.020 Up! Move! Go! 0.82

00:44:59.020 Up! Hawkeye's here!

00:45:01.020 Hawkeye's here and move to Scare!

00:45:03.020 Scare get ready! Scare get ready!

00:45:05.020 You ready?

00:45:09.020 Shooter's down!

00:45:11.020 Shooter's down!

00:45:13.020 Shooter's down! Shooter's down!

00:45:15.020 Are we good to move?

00:45:17.020 We're clear! Let's move!

00:45:19.020 We're clear!

00:45:21.020 I hope you make the same!

00:45:23.020 Oh! 0.60

00:45:25.020 Let me get my shoes! 0.83

00:45:27.020 Let me get my shoes! 0.83

00:45:29.020 I got you, sir! I got you, sir!

00:45:31.020 Let me get my shoes, sir!

00:45:33.020 Sir, we gotta move to the classroom!

00:45:35.020 Move to the classroom!

00:45:37.020 Let me get my shoes! 0.83

00:45:39.020 Watch out!

00:45:41.020 Wait, wait, wait!

00:45:49.020 We gotta move!

00:45:51.020 We gotta move!

00:45:53.020 USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

00:46:10.020 I've never seen something so extraordinary.

00:46:13.320 The president fist pumped him over and over, telling them, wait, wait, so he could fist

00:46:18.180 pump to the audience, show them that he was OK, remind them to fight.

00:46:21.880 And I have to say the kudos to the audience members who showed incredible courage standing

00:46:28.980 there, breaking out into a patriotic cheer.

00:46:31.920 I think I would have been running for my life, Eric.

00:46:34.780 I can't believe the temerity shown by those people.

00:46:38.860 It was shocking.

00:46:40.020 It was shocking.

00:46:41.040 And, you know, you mentioned the strength of the guy, the toughness of the guy.

00:46:47.060 You know, a New York billionaire with, you know, gold on his walls, he gets an assassination

00:46:54.820 attempt.

00:46:55.620 He's bleeding, doesn't know how badly he's hurt.

00:46:58.500 Within seconds, he's up telling the Secret Service, wait, I want to fist pump and say

00:47:02.700 fight.

00:47:03.800 There's a lot of fight in that dog.

00:47:05.940 There is a lot of fight.

00:47:07.060 You know, Trump showed more character and strength in the moment when he's being attempted to be

00:47:16.580 assassinated than the strength that Joe Biden exudes every time he steps on a stage.

00:47:22.780 Just think about those two stages.

00:47:25.060 Trump getting up from an assassination attempt attempt and the strength and the composure

00:47:30.660 he had then versus Joe Biden trying to figure out where he is.

00:47:34.480 Those are two images that should decide the election alone.

00:47:39.200 It's unbelievable.

00:47:41.380 I mean, the man's 78 years old.

00:47:43.020 He's 78 years old.

00:47:45.560 And what I mean, he's worried about where he wants his shoes.

00:47:48.580 Like, it's just remarkable.

00:47:50.860 I don't know even know if Trump knew he'd been hit in the head.

00:47:55.160 I mean, he was shot in the head, grazed.

00:47:57.100 Yes, but Trump took a bullet today and I'm sure he's just coming to terms with that right

00:48:03.260 now.

00:48:03.580 I mean, even Donald Trump hasn't had that happen to him in his past.

00:48:07.620 And I, I know part of me wants him to see that, wants to see him do something extraordinary,

00:48:12.740 like show up at the UFC event tonight.

00:48:15.660 That's totally unconfirmed, but part of me doesn't because I want him to take care of

00:48:20.860 himself, you know, just like got his, got his cage rattled today and who knows what

00:48:26.260 else may have gone, you know, like he needs to be examined thoroughly.

00:48:29.080 The secret service, of course, again, is telling us that he's okay, that he's fine and that

00:48:34.400 he is being examined, fully examined as you would imagine.

00:48:37.240 Um, I do want to say that we've, we've received now, again, this is Catherine Harrod.

00:48:42.920 She's reporting, receiving unconfirmed reporting from a local contact that the shooter was on

00:48:48.480 a rooftop and down by a sniper.

00:48:51.480 Uh, this dovetails well with earlier reporting that we had received.

00:48:55.220 And there is this video, uh, again, I'm going to show you this video, but this is unconfirmed.

00:49:01.340 We don't, there it is.

00:49:02.600 This would match the location that we're hearing, which would be a couple hundred yards outside

00:49:06.460 the cordoned area.

00:49:07.280 There appears to be a body looks to me like dressed in gray down and not moving.

00:49:13.240 This does not look like a sniper on his belly with a rifle, you know, trained on anyone.

00:49:18.480 And it looks like somebody who's been taken out though.

00:49:20.500 My experience in these events tells me be careful because in the hours and days to come,

00:49:25.260 this information may change dramatically.

00:49:28.140 Go ahead.

00:49:28.660 Go back to something you said that I think is, it's going to be a big theme.

00:49:34.100 And I'm not sure that you even realize you stumbled on it.

00:49:36.200 The courage and the resolve that those Trump fans displayed as shots are being fired in

00:49:43.980 their direction shows the resolve of the people who are supporting Trump and the resolve to

00:49:51.640 make America great again.

00:49:52.980 That you stumble on that.

00:49:54.280 And it, it really is shocking that those people didn't run from gunshot.

00:49:58.420 They stayed, they maintained their position to, to be assured that Trump is okay.

00:50:04.840 Wow.

00:50:05.740 That was, that is an incredible observation.

00:50:08.740 I mean, think of what they've gone through too, you know, from basket of deplorables to

00:50:15.540 after January 6th, if you were even a Trump supporter, they were threatening to not publish

00:50:19.940 your book, not hire you. 1.00

00:50:22.400 You were treated like scum. 1.00

00:50:24.920 He was of course, demonized universally. 1.00

00:50:28.620 It's no question.

00:50:29.520 He behaved badly, but they really did try to take everything from him, everything right

00:50:34.800 down to his freedom and never stopped trying to this moment.

00:50:38.620 They're trying.

00:50:39.940 I mean, one does wonder what does this do to the lawfare campaign?

00:50:44.120 Do they get the message, Eric?

00:50:46.220 Do they take the pedal off the gas a little and understand this is a human being who's in

00:50:51.220 public service?

00:50:53.140 Do they, does Jack Smith, the rabid dog, take it, just take a seat and say, maybe we

00:50:59.820 went too far.

00:51:01.340 Maybe there's only so much one human being should have to take.

00:51:04.780 I wouldn't bet on it.

00:51:07.120 And not only that, it makes it look so small in comparison now.

00:51:11.460 Trump just survived a assassination attempt.

00:51:14.080 This Jack Smith stuff and finally Willis stuff there.

00:51:17.620 If they continue that path, Megan, they're just going to make him even more popular, even

00:51:22.320 more popular.

00:51:23.340 The guy's been shot at and now he's being unfairly dragged through the court system.

00:51:30.460 It's over.

00:51:31.500 It's over.

00:51:33.200 So.

00:51:34.240 I just can't say, I mean, like, that's what's resonating with me is that as Joe Biden, I'm

00:51:40.540 not blaming Joe Biden to be clear, but as Joe Biden increased the rhetoric against Trump

00:51:44.480 saying, let's put a bullseye on him, why did he do that?

00:51:47.700 Why did he get so pointed this week? 0.99

00:51:49.580 He was, he said that judge said he raped that woman. 0.84

00:51:53.780 Speaking of Eugene Carroll and you know what? 0.92

00:51:56.740 You can go back and read the opinion, but a partisan judge.

00:51:58.880 Yes. 0.58

00:51:59.380 After the jury did not convict Trump on rape, they did not find that he raped her.

00:52:04.360 The judge providing an assist for the prosecutor who failed to prove rape said they must've been

00:52:10.980 talking about rape in an extraordinary written opinion.

00:52:14.140 That was completely inappropriate.

00:52:15.780 And now of course, Joe Biden seized it because he's desperate because he's desperate based

00:52:21.840 on his own debate performance and up the rhetoric. 1.00

00:52:25.160 He's a rapist. 1.00

00:52:26.620 Put a bullseye on him. 1.00

00:52:28.800 And the New York times, the same thing, Eric, do you see them this week with the all black 1.00

00:52:33.060 print with just a white coming up?

00:52:35.580 Hold on a second.

00:52:36.140 We did, we did a story on this yesterday, um, where it says, okay, he is dangerous in

00:52:42.540 word, deed, and action.

00:52:44.640 He puts self over country.

00:52:46.660 He loathes the laws we live by.

00:52:49.620 How dare they?

00:52:50.740 Here it is.

00:52:51.820 He's dangerous.

00:52:53.260 He's dangerous.

00:52:55.200 You are dangerous.

00:52:56.820 Do you know the reach you have?

00:52:58.480 Is there any cognition, cognition of the need to be somewhat responsible in your rhetoric

00:53:05.260 when all the left controls all the media and they all talk like this about him?

00:53:11.640 All of them.

00:53:14.780 Yeah, I'll do it again.

00:53:15.900 You do the output, the script and have the right, um, Fox news, whomever, and use Biden

00:53:24.700 as, as, as the subject of that text.

00:53:26.900 And they go crazy. 0.98

00:53:28.280 You, you guys are violent. 1.00

00:53:30.260 You're extremists. 1.00

00:53:31.240 Terrible.

00:53:31.500 But it's, but for me, that New York times piece that you just scrolled through was a

00:53:36.580 kind of a makeup to the left because they, they were both, the editorial board, Biden

00:53:42.880 stepped, stepped down now to win.

00:53:44.760 So they had to do something.

00:53:47.680 Yeah.

00:53:49.660 Look, I, my general feeling on these matters is crazy people shoot other people.

00:53:55.940 And we've had very heated campaigns in the past, very nasty and heated.

00:54:01.020 2016 was just as heated and nasty as this one.

00:54:04.320 And it didn't drive anybody to try to shoot anyone.

00:54:08.960 You know, mad men are going to do what mad men do, irrespective of what, you know, Joe

00:54:14.900 Biden irresponsibly says or the New York times irresponsibly prints.

00:54:18.380 And it didn't look much different than what they've said about him millions of times before,

00:54:22.740 you know, and it is millions, maybe not just the times, but certainly the media.

00:54:28.620 But there has to be some responsibility when it comes to a person's safety and just environment

00:54:33.320 around them.

00:54:33.780 When, you know, it is the entire media save for conservative voices that's ginning up

00:54:41.060 this messaging that he actually is a threat to the country.

00:54:43.380 That's just, it's gross.

00:54:45.080 It's wrong.

00:54:47.100 You mentioned, we talked about approval ratings, right?

00:54:50.460 And what, what will happen to Trump?

00:54:51.840 I mean, Trump, we talked about this on the show this week, and I realized this sounds

00:54:54.580 crass, but we are in one of the biggest political weeks of this entire election.

00:54:59.820 You know, Trump's about to accept the nomination as the Republican nominee on Thursday.

00:55:04.160 So one has to wonder what this does to the week we're about to have in Milwaukee.

00:55:10.320 Trump's problem in this race has been he can't get his approval rating up very high.

00:55:15.240 He's never come close to really hitting 50.

00:55:17.540 And that's unusual for someone who's going to win.

00:55:21.300 Neither can Biden.

00:55:22.460 You know, Biden's is low too.

00:55:24.180 But just historically, Ronald Reagan, who was also shot as president, came into office on

00:55:32.660 a fairly high note.

00:55:33.780 He had initial job approval rating as high as 60, 60% in mid-March, 1981.

00:55:39.500 He was, of course, sworn in January of 81.

00:55:42.360 On March 30th, he was shot on the streets of Washington, D.C., in front of the Hilton

00:55:49.380 by John Hinckley, Jr.

00:55:51.300 And the resulting concern and sympathy helped lift his ratings to 68% by May.

00:55:56.520 By the 100th day of his administration, 51% of Democrats supported him, 70% of independents,

00:56:03.840 92% of Republicans.

00:56:06.800 I believe, do we have the Reagan moment queued up, guys?

00:56:13.260 Okay, well, we'll get that.

00:56:14.880 I mean, you and I both remember we were kids at the time.

00:56:17.460 You know, it was 1981.

00:56:19.160 I was 10.

00:56:20.680 And I remember exactly where I was when I heard that the sitting president of the United

00:56:24.260 States had been shot.

00:56:25.900 Trump, of course, not the sitting president, but likely to be.

00:56:29.420 And so I do think realistically, one can expect, forgive me, again, it feels crass, but it's

00:56:34.620 relevant, somewhat of a poll bump for Donald Trump.

00:56:39.580 It's going to soar.

00:56:40.900 I mean, but the head-to-head matchups don't matter.

00:56:44.880 It's a swing state matchups.

00:56:46.460 And Trump was already winning by wide margins.

00:56:49.440 And then, you know, some of them, at least seven of the big swing, seven of the big eight

00:56:53.680 or nine swing states.

00:56:54.660 He had the, he has the lockdown.

00:56:56.120 He'll just increase the lean.

00:56:57.120 And I think you hit on something important also in that if the lawfare, the prosecutors

00:57:02.680 around the country want to, Calvin Bragg, Letitia James, Connie Willett, Jack Smith, they

00:57:08.080 want to keep going after him.

00:57:09.580 They're just going to make it even, even easier for him.

00:57:12.960 For me, at this point, can he win?

00:57:15.060 Can he win Wisconsin again?

00:57:17.660 Can he win Michigan again?

00:57:19.300 Can he win even Minnesota?

00:57:21.740 If he wins the hose, it'll be historic.

00:57:24.360 It'll be another historic win, maybe, I guess not, not since Ronald Reagan's defeat over Mondale,

00:57:29.260 that type of wide margin.

00:57:31.800 You know what, Eric?

00:57:32.720 And because it, it's not just the fact that they tried to assassinate him in the same way

00:57:37.280 that the lawfare drove many of us to say, we're voting for Trump no matter what, because

00:57:41.220 we have to remind people of what this country is, the initial bullet that Trump was hit

00:57:47.220 by tonight would have been enough to drive many people to his side to say, no, hell no.

00:57:53.240 This kind of thing will only drive to the opposite result of the one you're seeking.

00:57:56.980 But it was the moments after that I, even cynical news people like you and I, I think would

00:58:06.640 have to conclude, will draw some people to say, I am with Trump.

00:58:11.940 I have never seen that kind of strength, emotional and physical, under the most trying of circumstances.

00:58:22.080 And he had it in the moment.

00:58:25.480 It wasn't three hours later.

00:58:27.440 It wasn't when he emerged from the ER.

00:58:29.620 It was as he was bleeding with the blood across his face and his ear half blown off, that he

00:58:38.440 stood up there, pumped the fist and said, no, I will message my audience on what I want

00:58:46.260 them to do.

00:58:47.060 And it's fight.

00:58:49.580 I am making that they're pulling me out of this office that I borrowed.

00:58:53.960 One final thought.

00:58:54.960 The person who lost their life, the rally goer who died, just being there, feels for

00:59:02.820 their family.

00:59:04.040 But can you imagine the powerful moment if the family survivors of that person who died

00:59:11.540 comes to the stage at the RNC convention next week?

00:59:17.420 Can you imagine the moment?

00:59:19.500 And if you're undecided, it's over.

00:59:22.440 Then it's over once you see something like that.

00:59:24.960 Right.

00:59:26.980 I mean, just to.

00:59:29.340 Just to stand up for what their loved one wanted.

00:59:32.560 Right.

00:59:33.020 I mean, the person who was killed was just there to express their support of their preferred

00:59:37.660 candidate.

00:59:38.300 And Trump is the preferred candidate, according to the polls right now, of the majority of

00:59:42.060 the American people.

00:59:42.780 It's not he's not some outlier.

00:59:44.360 He's not some freak.

00:59:45.580 He's not some authoritarian.

00:59:47.780 He's not Hitler.

00:59:49.200 Part two.

00:59:50.580 He's just a man.

00:59:51.780 And by the way, his politics are rather moderate. 0.99

00:59:54.060 For all the jerks out there who just believe what they read on MSNBC dot com, he's moderate. 0.98

01:00:01.460 This is what this is. 0.99

01:00:02.420 One of the beefs that died in the wool conservatives have with the man.

01:00:07.080 They want him to be more.

01:00:08.340 No, Connie, they want him to be more pro lifey.

01:00:11.760 Don't I pray right now?

01:00:13.320 I pray the left.

01:00:15.820 They're going to do it.

01:00:16.960 I hope they give it a beat before they start the gun control argument with.

01:00:21.000 With the shooter using a rifle.

01:00:23.520 I it's probably already happened.

01:00:25.400 I, you know, you know, I've been talking for a few minutes here. 1.00

01:00:27.840 Someone, some stupid left wing pundit is going to blame guns. 1.00

01:00:32.440 And it's it's insane. 1.00

01:00:34.000 You're right.

01:00:36.640 It happens every time.

01:00:37.940 I do want to read this statement, then I'll let you go, Eric.

01:00:40.920 President Trump just released it, released it.

01:00:42.680 I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all of law enforcement for their rapid

01:00:49.400 response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.

01:00:52.440 Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who

01:00:56.200 was killed and also to the family of another person that was badly injured.

01:01:00.540 It's incredible that such an act can take place in our country.

01:01:04.100 Nothing is known at this time about the shooter who is now dead.

01:01:07.180 I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.

01:01:09.960 I knew immediately that something was wrong and that I heard a whizzing sound shots and

01:01:15.320 immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.

01:01:17.900 Much bleeding took place.

01:01:19.220 So I realized then what was happening in all caps.

01:01:22.700 God bless America.

01:01:26.720 You know, it reminds me, Eric, a little bit of George W.

01:01:31.840 Bush after 9-11.

01:01:33.260 I mean, of all things, Trump ear, his ear was ripped off.

01:01:36.880 Part of his ear was ripped off.

01:01:38.920 And it reminds me of the George W.

01:01:40.820 Bush.

01:01:41.620 Well, I can hear you.

01:01:43.520 And soon the people who knocked down these buildings will hear all of us.

01:01:47.460 It's that kind of a moment right now.

01:01:49.660 You may have almost shot off the man's ear. 0.99

01:01:53.140 You may have almost shot off his head.

01:01:57.040 But the world is going to hear all of us on November 5th that this is not who we are.

01:02:03.420 This is not how we resolve political disputes in the United States of America.

01:02:07.140 We are not actually a banana republic, despite the left trying to take us there in unprecedented

01:02:13.600 ways over this past year.

01:02:15.500 I think true patriots, and I mean patriots, that you can separate it apart from whether

01:02:20.960 you're a core Trump supporter, true patriots and lovers of this country and this experiment

01:02:25.560 understand now that the stakes have changed in this election.

01:02:30.000 It's not about petty concerns that can be resolved four years from now.

01:02:37.220 It's about who we are and what we'll tolerate as Americans.

01:02:42.620 The stakes have changed entirely.

01:02:44.280 I'll give you the last word, my friend.

01:02:45.400 The last word is you're 100% right.

01:02:48.640 They've changed.

01:02:49.920 But I'll tell you, if anyone, if they thought something like this, if the left who, not

01:02:53.640 suggesting they were hoping something like this would happen, but if they wondered the

01:02:58.140 reaction with Trump power and cocoon and say, wow, this is life or death, he's the opposite.

01:03:05.440 That just energized.

01:03:06.400 They filled his tank through November 5th and probably through the 2028 election, in fact,

01:03:14.780 until we get there.

01:03:15.420 Megan, really, really good being out with you.

01:03:17.340 Appreciate your time.

01:03:19.160 Oh, all the best, Eric.

01:03:20.100 So appreciate you coming on in a time like this.

01:03:22.820 Very grateful to you.

01:03:23.860 Let's talk soon.

01:03:25.400 I want to play for the audience before we bring on our next guest.

01:03:28.860 A couple of pieces of tape that we've just gotten in.

01:03:31.720 One is an eyewitness to the shooting.

01:03:34.620 You're watching it as I am for the first time.

01:03:36.620 Let's watch.

01:03:38.280 Tell me what you saw.

01:03:39.940 Okay.

01:03:40.420 I was in the first row right in front of President Trump.

01:03:43.060 I heard first boom, boom.

01:03:45.160 I heard four boom, boom, booms.

01:03:47.780 Immediately thought fireworks.

01:03:49.320 Somebody's still putting off fireworks.

01:03:51.280 Then the Secret Service jumped onto him, pushed him to the ground.

01:03:55.540 What did he look like when you saw him when he got up?

01:03:58.280 So I'm just telling you now I pushed him to the ground.

01:04:00.440 That's what we saw.

01:04:01.140 And not one of us in the front row either hid down or anything.

01:04:04.900 We all stood up strong to make sure we wanted to protect them too.

01:04:09.120 We wouldn't move until Trump got up.

01:04:11.540 What did you see from him?

01:04:12.680 So then the guys with the guns came.

01:04:15.540 They clear right, clear left.

01:04:17.000 Or they said lift them.

01:04:18.320 So they lifted them straight up.

01:04:20.400 Trump said, I got to get my shoes on.

01:04:22.700 But he looked okay to me.

01:04:24.820 But I saw a little bit of blood right here.

01:04:26.600 On the side of his face?

01:04:27.860 The right cheek.

01:04:28.580 It was like a teardrop almost.

01:04:31.280 But then when he turned to the right, I could see the blood from the top of the ear to the bottom.

01:04:38.080 It was not gushing.

01:04:40.160 But it was all the way down.

01:04:42.380 You're doing okay?

01:04:43.320 Yeah, I'm fine.

01:04:44.080 You weren't hurt?

01:04:44.740 No, I thought something happened.

01:04:46.120 But in my mind, I thought when they pushed him, he hit himself on something.

01:04:51.560 You know, almost like a burn, like brush burn or whatever, you know, something.

01:04:54.920 And then he put his hand up real big, like strong, and they walked him down.

01:04:59.240 It's really incredible to see.

01:05:05.780 This is a woman. 0.86

01:05:06.720 She appears to be, forgive me, madam, 50s or 60s.

01:05:11.360 Tough as nails.

01:05:12.820 Tough as nails.

01:05:13.560 And it's because of what I just said before.

01:05:16.020 The Trump supporters are used to having everything thrown at them.

01:05:19.820 They're tough.

01:05:20.520 They have to be tough.

01:05:21.680 They have no choice.

01:05:22.420 You show up at a Trump rally, you understand you're going to take some incoming.

01:05:27.580 But this is, of course, something no American should ever have to be subjected to when just

01:05:33.520 attending a political rally.

01:05:34.980 But still, look at that woman in the face of gunfire all around her, able to give an interview,

01:05:39.180 able to say she's okay, able to describe it in great detail, which matches up with the

01:05:42.780 video that we saw as well.

01:05:44.280 Joining me now, Bill Stanton, former NYPD and Buck Sexton, former CIA.

01:05:49.700 Guys, thank you so much for being with us tonight.

01:05:52.420 Let's talk about the security, because I think a lot of people are wondering, how did a loaded

01:05:59.860 rifle get anywhere near former President Donald Trump at an event like this?

01:06:06.840 Buck, I'll start with you on it, because this is, well, it's both of your lines of work.

01:06:10.540 But how?

01:06:11.340 How on earth could this happen?

01:06:13.420 Look, I've been, like so many others, just fielding calls, texts, calls, texts ever since

01:06:19.540 this happened, with the latest information and people trying to analyze how such a thing

01:06:25.920 could go down just tactically.

01:06:28.640 And already, I think the sense is that the Secret Service was slow, certainly, and perhaps

01:06:36.160 missed one of the most obvious overlook points for there to be this kind of a shooting.

01:06:41.300 Now, I'm basing, I wasn't at the rally, obviously, and I have to base this off of what's being

01:06:46.920 shared, not just in terms of the videos alone, which are obviously very instructive, because

01:06:51.440 there's so many videos from different angles as to what went on here.

01:06:54.320 But also, it seems that the shooter on the rooftop was able to get up there.

01:07:00.220 His rifle was visible to people nearby.

01:07:02.820 There have been eyewitnesses talking about how they even tried to flag this to Secret Service.

01:07:07.140 They were able to, once this guy opened fire, hit him with counter-sniper fire.

01:07:13.560 So that response was rapid.

01:07:16.400 But how they could have missed, based on the schematic, if you will, of what this area looks

01:07:23.540 like, where the buildings are, the blueprints, how they could have allowed anyone to get up

01:07:27.640 on that building with a rifle, to me, is it's clearly a massive error.

01:07:31.120 I mean, when a president almost loses his life, or a presidential candidate and former

01:07:36.920 president in this case, this was an inch or two from national catastrophe.

01:07:41.600 So there was a clear failure here from the security protocols, and we're going to have

01:07:45.740 to figure out how to make sure President Trump is safe going through this election, and hopefully

01:07:51.720 beyond that one.

01:07:53.280 And had a perfect view of JFK in this open, open car.

01:08:00.780 It's not like we don't have a history to look back at, say, elevated platforms are dangerous

01:08:04.780 when the president of the United States or the former president of the United States is

01:08:07.300 there.

01:08:08.320 And Trump is an even bigger target in some ways than the setting president.

01:08:12.480 He's just an extremely controversial figure.

01:08:15.120 And it's like, I don't understand.

01:08:17.440 I mean, I gave kudos to the law enforcement at the top of the show because the shooter's dead.

01:08:22.040 So that's a plus.

01:08:23.840 But I don't understand how my friend Larry's wife couldn't bring her long umbrella in.

01:08:32.140 But the shooter was allowed to get, as it appears now, on a rooftop nearby within a couple

01:08:38.080 hundred yards of the former president and shoot him.

01:08:41.020 Secret Service should have had positive control of that rooftop. 0.57

01:08:43.880 I don't want to step on my colleague's time here from the NYPD, but I just wanted to say

01:08:48.300 that there's no way, not only should they have been able to get return fire quickly,

01:08:52.880 which they did, they should have had positive control of that space.

01:08:56.060 I mean, there's absolutely no way that anyone should have been able to get on that rooftop.

01:08:59.700 If you were trying to plan an assassination, just an everyday person trying to figure out

01:09:03.500 how would I get the clearest shot of the president on the podium?

01:09:06.540 The building where the shot was taken from seems to be the most obvious one.

01:09:12.760 This just in, Bill, before I bring you in, this is from an eyewitness who, well, take a listen to

01:09:18.260 what he saw.

01:09:19.980 Someone who was, hey, you weren't inside the event, but you were just outside.

01:09:23.800 Tell us what you saw.

01:09:25.760 So we had a party here all day.

01:09:28.400 You can see behind us the Brinkles Farming greenhouse here.

01:09:31.540 We had a party, and we all decided, hey, you know, when we hear Trump up there, we're

01:09:37.020 going to walk up through the field, stand by the trees out there under the shade, and

01:09:42.220 watch the rain, and listen to the rally, right?

01:09:43.720 We couldn't see him, but we could hear him.

01:09:47.000 So we walked up, and probably five to seven minutes of Trump speaking, I'm estimating here,

01:09:53.660 I have no idea, you know.

01:09:54.860 But we noticed a guy crawling, you know, bear crawling up the roof of the building beside

01:10:04.660 us, 50 feet away from us.

01:10:07.420 So we're standing there, and, you know, we're pointing at the guy crawling up the roof.

01:10:12.040 And he had a gun, right?

01:10:12.980 He had a rifle.

01:10:13.820 We could clearly see him with a rifle, absolutely.

01:10:17.320 We're pointing at him.

01:10:18.840 The police are down there running around on the ground.

01:10:21.520 We're like, hey, man, there's a guy on the roof with a rifle.

01:10:25.520 And the police are like, huh, what?

01:10:26.920 You know, like, they didn't know what was going on.

01:10:29.360 You know, we're like, hey, right here on the roof.

01:10:31.000 We can see him from right here.

01:10:32.340 We see him.

01:10:32.940 You know, he's crawling.

01:10:35.540 And next thing you know, I'm like, I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, why is Trump still speaking?

01:10:40.340 Why have they not pulled him off the stage?

01:10:42.120 I'm standing there pointing at him for, you know, two or three minutes.

01:10:46.520 Secret Service is looking at us from the top of the barn.

01:10:48.880 I'm pointing at that roof, just standing there like this.

01:10:53.060 And next thing you know, five shots running out.

01:10:56.640 Oh, my God.

01:10:58.480 Bill Stanton, former NYPD, that is absolutely chilling.

01:11:02.160 Your reaction?

01:11:04.220 Well, there's a lot to unpack here, Megan.

01:11:07.240 And I texted you some of my initial feelings.

01:11:10.420 So first, let me say these law enforcement, all of them are willing to put their life on the line to protect the former president.

01:11:17.160 That being said, watching that and having trained with some of the best in the world, ex-SWAT, ex-Delta Force, Navy SEALs and strategic response, and with the Secret Service, what I saw there was not their best day.

01:11:36.480 What do I mean?

01:11:37.300 When they heard the shots, they kept him up there on the podium, in my opinion, for way too long.

01:11:45.680 I mean, just shoot, sent a mask at that podium. 0.98

01:11:48.760 We knew the president was back there.

01:11:50.940 I saw a little bit confusion, and I believe that comes from lack of proper planning.

01:11:55.700 I would be interested to see, in the post-shooting review, did they do a proper advance?

01:12:02.800 Were the advance teams there?

01:12:04.340 When were they there?

01:12:05.520 Did they walk the perimeter?

01:12:07.180 Were there undercovers within the crowd?

01:12:10.020 Was there proper communication and coordination between the different departments?

01:12:14.880 You could see there was some local, there was some strategic response team, there was counter snipers, and were there coordination amongst them?

01:12:26.700 They kept him up on that podium way too long.

01:12:30.140 And while it made for a good optic, you know, I want my shoes.

01:12:34.240 They shouldn't have listened to him.

01:12:35.580 They should have got him right out there.

01:12:37.100 When Reagan got shot, if you can go back to that tape, they didn't hesitate.

01:12:42.600 They threw him.

01:12:43.600 I even think they cracked his ribs because they were so forceful getting him into the beast, the armored limo.

01:12:51.220 They handled him like a rag doll when Reagan was shot.

01:12:54.280 They immediately shut down any of his own movements and got him into that car.

01:12:58.780 That's exactly right.

01:13:00.240 They kept the former president up there way too long.

01:13:03.940 And the pictures that we're seeing, the close-ups, the photographs, that could just as easily have been the scope of a rifle.

01:13:11.980 So, you know, we don't work in the movie world.

01:13:15.460 We work in the real world.

01:13:17.040 There's always room for improvement.

01:13:19.160 And this has to be looked at.

01:13:20.880 This will be studied.

01:13:22.020 And hopefully the mistakes will be rectified going in.

01:13:25.240 I'm also curious to see what type of budget they had.

01:13:28.760 You know, what type of budget does a former president have for the Secret Service?

01:13:32.380 What is his detail, especially running for president?

01:13:35.860 Do they have enough bodies? 0.53

01:13:37.500 Do they have enough resource to do the proper advanced work and coordination that's needed, as we've seen, never more so than tonight?

01:13:47.500 Hold on.

01:13:48.240 I'm trying to find that update.

01:13:51.600 My team has sent me a lot.

01:13:52.520 Maybe they can send me, but there is a question about whether funding, more funding for Trump's security was rejected by the Biden administration.

01:14:02.920 I want to point out that your friend and mine, Dan Bongino, who obviously has real expertise on the Secret Service side of things, having served himself, tweeted out that he believes the head of the Secret Service should resign because she was warned about the increased threat and the need for additional resources.

01:14:21.360 On my own radio show, Clay and Buck, Clay said just a few days ago on the air, I'm really worried about Trump.

01:14:29.840 I would personally pay to triple his Secret Service detail.

01:14:33.080 The threats against him must be through the roof.

01:14:35.720 So this was, you know, you start to pull this all together.

01:14:39.920 And this isn't like some random congressman somewhere that was attacked by a maniac.

01:14:45.900 Trump is the single highest profile.

01:14:48.360 I think you could argue even more so than the sitting president because of the political temperature and what's going on in the country right now.

01:14:54.420 Single highest profile target that there is and the most threats against him right now.

01:15:00.220 And so, I mean, while I can understand that, you know, there's this idea, well, Secret Service did their best and they dove and they tried to, you know, manage the situation, they really have one job and it's to prevent this from happening.

01:15:15.220 And they didn't prevent it.

01:15:17.180 The counter fire was late.

01:15:19.020 I mean, it stopped this from getting worse.

01:15:20.620 This was inches away from a national catastrophe where we would have woken up tomorrow in a different country, in a different political reality, in a place where my own family was calling me.

01:15:32.840 I was talking to my parents as soon as this happened.

01:15:34.900 I mean, I was in the worst situation.

01:15:36.560 I was getting texts.

01:15:37.280 I'm in the gym.

01:15:37.980 It's loud.

01:15:38.800 My parents called me.

01:15:39.680 They said, do you see this?

01:15:41.200 And we're talking.

01:15:41.920 And I said, oh, my God, have they assassinated President Trump?

01:15:45.300 And they asked me, what do you think happens?

01:15:46.620 I mean, I think I have ideas for almost everything, Megan.

01:15:51.100 But if that had happened, we would not know what the country would look like, what the future would be like tomorrow in a way that is terrifying, honestly.

01:15:59.080 I mean, I think that if you're looking to see how the country could be pulled apart at the seams, it would be a presidential candidate who's ahead by massive numbers being assassinated. 0.62

01:16:08.140 And, of course, it's not also in the vacuum of just one crazy person. 0.67

01:16:11.060 I know they're going to say it's one crazy person, but we know that Trump was he's been impeached twice.

01:16:16.140 He's been indicted four times. 0.80

01:16:18.320 They have thrown more against this president and had more aggressive propaganda and just insane things, calling him Hitler-like.

01:16:26.200 I mean, Hitler killed 11 million people in the death camp, 6 million Jews.

01:16:30.560 In what universe is there a Hitlerian comparison that he's made to Donald Trump?

01:16:34.780 They do it all the time.

01:16:36.140 They just had him on the cover of the New Republic a week ago with a Hitler mustache on. 0.99

01:16:40.220 These people are insane. 0.81

01:16:41.140 And the major news networks, I'm sorry, they're just as bad in terms of the propaganda. 0.96

01:16:46.780 They're a part of it.

01:16:47.960 CNN had a thing about the president fell down.

01:16:50.420 Did you see that?

01:16:51.140 I'm sure you've talked about it already.

01:16:52.220 Yes.

01:16:53.280 Yes.

01:16:53.680 I mean, I grew up with the Trumps.

01:16:56.820 I knew Trump's kids.

01:16:57.920 He's a dad.

01:16:58.720 He's a husband.

01:16:59.500 He's a human being.

01:17:00.560 He's serving the country.

01:17:02.860 There's just no sense of basic humanity when it comes to him from the other side, not just in the midst of this assassination attempt, but all along they treat him like he's some sort of reptile that has to be exterminated.

01:17:15.380 It is horrific.

01:17:16.180 And so it's in that context that we see this assassination attempt.

01:17:20.600 It's in that context that we say, how many people on the left go on Twitter right now or X?

01:17:26.420 There are people that are making jokes about this.

01:17:28.480 There are people that, you know, say that I don't want to repeat it on your show, but there are people in this country for whom today wasn't a wake up call.

01:17:38.180 It was something that they've been perhaps psychologically preparing for and maybe even hoping for for a long time.

01:17:44.000 And that is a horrible thing to think and say as an American right now.

01:17:47.640 But it is out there.

01:17:48.500 You can see it for yourself.

01:17:50.440 You saw this.

01:17:53.120 It's ubiquitous on the left, but they're just having one of these big muckety-muck conferences out there in Sun Valley.

01:17:59.680 It happens every year.

01:18:01.140 And the one thing that about all the billionaires go.

01:18:04.080 And the one thing about this conference is they don't leak.

01:18:06.440 What's said, you know, behind closed doors by all the wealthy and connected people doesn't get leaked because that's their private club, except now this is leaked.

01:18:16.240 Peter Thiel was up there, entrepreneur and venture capitalist and somebody who employed J.D. Vance after J.D. Vance finished law school, coincidentally.

01:18:27.440 He sarcastically thanked bundler, billionaire, Democratic heavyweight Reid Hoffman for funding lawsuits against Trump saying they'd turn Trump into a martyr.

01:18:41.060 Peter, Peter's, you know, more right-leaning in his politics, said, you know, sarcastically thanking him thanks because you've turned him into a martyr, increasing his chances of re-election.

01:18:49.740 And from the stage, this is Dylan Byers reporting of Punchbowl News, reporting that Reid Hoffman responded with his own sarcastic quip, quote, yeah, I wish I had made him an actual martyr.

01:19:02.260 And by the way, my friend was there and confirmed that this exact thing happened.

01:19:06.780 So, I mean, I can, she was horrified.

01:19:09.320 This is horrifying.

01:19:10.940 This is not how you talk about another.

01:19:12.820 Yeah, they, he was telling the truth.

01:19:16.220 And that, that's why I was talking earlier, Buck, about, you know, I tuned into CNN earlier and Wolf Blitzer.

01:19:22.040 He was far more sympathetic when we had the first desert storm war, I remember watching his reporting there, over what was happening in another country, than he was about what just happened in our country, as at least one innocent American lay dead, another's now in serious condition, and the former president of the United States, and likely next, almost got his head blown off.

01:19:43.840 They can't muster it.

01:19:46.100 They genuinely see him as an evil man.

01:19:50.320 And, and it is one of those, you know, however much you hate the media, it's not, it's not enough.

01:19:54.900 And by the way, other friends now, other friends by the minute are just for filing in saying they all heard Reid Hoffman say this, that it was a shocking moment.

01:20:05.160 Go ahead, Bill.

01:20:05.580 What I see happening with my high dollar clients, and I'm also from the streets, you have the elites that live in a bubble, and they live in there, literally they're Ivy Towers, they fly in private jets, and they're so far removed from the daily strife that everyday Americans endure.

01:20:26.380 Now, you also have today's youth that no longer live in the world of reality, they live in the cyber world, where they have big cojones, they feel they could say what they want, there's no repercussions.

01:20:38.820 In my youth, you mouth off to someone, there was always the threat that you may get smacked in the mouth and you have to knuckle up.

01:20:46.180 And I think what's happening now in today's world, with the active shooters, with Antifa, they put on their COVID masks and they engage in violence.

01:20:54.820 They cannot differentiate between the cyber world and the real one, where they're so used to screaming out loud, I need to be heard, I need to take action online.

01:21:06.520 This is now transcending into the real world, and it's become blurred.

01:21:11.180 And this really needs to be a wake-up call to everyday Americans to secure themselves and to watch out for your neighbors.

01:21:18.780 A couple of things breaking here.

01:21:22.640 Sean Davis of The Federalist reports as follows, and please, audience, bear with me.

01:21:27.120 As I said, initial reports almost always get revised.

01:21:31.420 Things that are said have to be taken back on the night of breaking news of this sort.

01:21:36.460 So please, everything with a grain of salt, unless you get it directly from the Secret Service.

01:21:40.660 But this is from Sean Davis of The Federalist.

01:21:43.540 A source familiar with Trump's security detail tells The Federalist that the former and future president's detail has been asking for beefed up protection and resources for weeks, but has been rebuffed time and time again by Biden's Department of Homeland Security.

01:21:59.960 DHS, which oversees Secret Service protective detail, quote, was not responsive to those requests for more resources, according to this source.

01:22:08.640 Buck, this is exactly what you were just saying, that the absence of appropriate security was noted, that there was a request that it be beefed up.

01:22:20.000 And if this is true, it was denied, which is going to be a political scandal of its own.

01:22:27.480 Oh, absolutely, as it well should be.

01:22:29.620 I think that Biden's best defense is that he didn't know what was going on with this, just like he doesn't know what's going on with anything else, although that doesn't really make any of us feel much better, I think, considering he's the commander in chief, technically.

01:22:42.240 This will be something that I think there's a there's a paper trail for email trail.

01:22:47.640 They'll be able to show these requests if, in fact, that reporting is accurate.

01:22:50.920 By the way, Sean Davis, good friend of mine, brilliant guy.

01:22:53.180 And, you know, I I know he's going on the breaking news, too, but I tend to put stock.

01:22:58.440 I would do what you did, Megan.

01:22:59.820 I would trust enough in Sean to to put forward him as a source.

01:23:03.100 So I think Sean is.

01:23:04.160 Yeah, is generally solid.

01:23:06.320 And and if this is the case, you have to wonder in what universe would it be OK decision making for the sitting president who has his DOJ bringing two cases?

01:23:19.080 I know it's separate. The DOJ, we all know that's preposterous and then has an agent, a former agent, if you will, of the DOJ taking a massive demotion to go bring a prosecution against him in New York.

01:23:29.720 I mean, when you see the lawfare campaign that is being waged and simultaneously, it seems there was a denial of additional security resources.

01:23:41.380 I don't know how things can get much worse for the Biden administration than they are, but this would actually accomplish that.

01:23:47.020 This would show us that Biden is not only senile and the whole thing has been a lie, but there's a viciousness and a vindictiveness to him.

01:23:56.100 And that shows you what I've always been saying, by the way, which is that he's never been a man of any character or decency.

01:24:01.280 That was always a front as well. So we'll see.

01:24:03.620 I certainly think we need to get to the bottom of this because there there can be no excuse for that kind of denial of resource given the threats against Trump.

01:24:11.400 There's no coverage. What about what?

01:24:15.700 Will Kennedy be getting coverage now? Yeah.

01:24:18.600 Yeah. Well, RFKJ here. Listen to this. Chad Pergram, Capitol Hill reporter, a producer for Fox News, longtime trust Chad Pergram entirely.

01:24:29.300 He reports that James Comer, who's head of oversight in the House, wants U.S. Secret Service director Cheadle to appear for a hearing on the Trump shooting soon.

01:24:38.140 His committee has oversight of Secret Service. Comer, quote,

01:24:41.160 My prayers are with the president, with President Trump and the victims of the assassination attempt at today's rally in Pennsylvania.

01:24:47.400 I think the brave Secret Service members who put their lives at risk to protect President Trump and for the American patriots in the audience who helped innocent victims.

01:24:56.780 Political violence in all forms is un-American and unacceptable.

01:24:59.120 There are many questions and Americans demand answers.

01:25:02.780 I've already contacted the Secret Service for a briefing.

01:25:04.820 I'm also calling on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheadle to appear for a hearing.

01:25:09.280 The oversight committee will send a formal invitation soon.

01:25:12.440 Of course, there will be a full-fledged investigation into how, if that man we heard with the red hair, the eyewitness is correct,

01:25:20.700 regular Americans saw the shooter climb up on the rooftop in front of their very eyes with a rifle,

01:25:28.740 which, according to some reports, is being described as an AR-15 rifle.

01:25:32.260 They saw that with their eyes, tried to call attention, did call attention to law enforcement that was on scene, that they had seen it.

01:25:41.000 And according to at least that one eyewitness, the local law enforcement seemed befuddled as to what to do.

01:25:48.040 That's my word, not his.

01:25:49.700 And now we see what appears to be the shooter dead on top of the rooftop.

01:25:53.960 It certainly seems to confirm that set of circumstances.

01:25:57.080 Bill, I want to show you this.

01:25:58.180 It's a remarkable photo, and it was captured by former White House Press Corps member Doug Mills.

01:26:05.760 If you zoom in, which we have here, over the president's left shoulder, keep in mind he got hit in the right ear,

01:26:13.460 and you will see what it appears to be on a super close-up.

01:26:19.040 It looks like it could be a bullet flying in the air.

01:26:24.760 This is saying to the right of the president's head.

01:26:28.160 You know how sometimes when you put the picture up, it flips?

01:26:31.700 This to me looks, I mean, on screen, it's to the right.

01:26:36.120 But the president's right ear would be on the other side.

01:26:38.920 In any event, there will be a full investigation here, as we saw with JFK Jr., on exactly where that gunfire came from, Bill,

01:26:46.760 and whether there was just one shooter.

01:26:51.520 Well, what they're going to do is they're going to do a whole deep dive on the deceased, the assailant's social media.

01:26:59.020 They're going to look at his correspondence, his phone, his texts, and they're going to find out who he was affiliated.

01:27:06.200 Hopefully, they'll do half the job that they did with the January 6th investigation.

01:27:11.840 What I will say, speaking to law enforcement, complacency in law enforcement is not your friend.

01:27:19.340 It's 99% mundane, 1% adrenaline, like we've seen here.

01:27:24.120 These cops, where they're from, you know, it's probably not a high-crime area.

01:27:28.320 They're used to directing traffic, doing their daily duties.

01:27:31.620 It's not often a president comes into town.

01:27:33.980 So when they're hit with a stimulus, like, hey, hey, hey, there's a shooter up there.

01:27:38.740 They weren't necessarily trained on how to react like that.

01:27:41.920 I'm not making an excuse.

01:27:43.740 I'm giving you an explanation.

01:27:45.840 And the president, I'm telling you, that man has true grit.

01:27:50.340 I mean, I would have been a pancake on that floor.

01:27:53.240 I wouldn't have gone up.

01:27:54.240 I would just say, carry me out of here.

01:27:56.240 That's not true.

01:27:58.320 I would have, but not you.

01:28:01.380 This is something that needs to be learned and there needs to be action.

01:28:06.400 All this petty BS, what the left has been doing, cutting funding, looking to persecute them.

01:28:13.420 I mean, I feel like I'm watching Braveheart just yell mercy.

01:28:17.000 You know, and this man keeps on going.

01:28:19.360 This will rally his voter base.

01:28:22.140 This will rally the independents.

01:28:23.860 And where is the violence coming from?

01:28:26.720 The left.

01:28:27.460 And it's going to be interesting to see how they spin this.

01:28:30.540 What can't happen is that Trump now has to go underground for the next four months because of this security environment.

01:28:37.920 You know, I mean, but for sure, they're going to start to have to take his security much more seriously.

01:28:43.140 You know, I said this last September when I went to interview him in person in New Jersey, there was far too little security around him.

01:28:51.260 Granted, everyone knew I was not a threat.

01:28:53.560 But things hadn't ramped up the way they have right now, or we're four months out and counting.

01:29:01.200 But I can personally attest to the fact that it was very clear he did not have enough protection, even to my layperson's eyes.

01:29:08.280 And I'm horrified to learn that's ongoing.

01:29:11.780 We do have the Reagan clip queued up because I do think that that's probably the most similar historical situation to what we just saw today.

01:29:21.900 Bill, thank God, it appears that President Trump was not hit nearly as bad as Reagan was.

01:29:26.860 But to your point earlier, Bill, the Secret Service did not let Reagan stand there for a minute and do anything.

01:29:33.640 They grabbed him, as I said, like a rag doll and got him into the presidential limousine. 0.99

01:29:38.840 Let's watch it.

01:29:39.920 It doesn't make much sense, Henry.

01:29:41.820 He puts you here in the new room when I return.

01:29:45.440 President Reagan.

01:29:51.900 And they did this, by the way, from Michael Reagan, son of the late president.

01:30:09.460 The Reagan family sends their prayers to President Trump and his family's special prayers for Melania,

01:30:14.100 as we remember what Nancy was going through in March 1981.

01:30:18.980 We also have this in from Ivanka Trump.

01:30:22.380 Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and for the other victims of today's senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania.

01:30:28.000 I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today.

01:30:32.880 I continue to pray for our country.

01:30:34.960 I love you, Dad, today and always.

01:30:36.740 And so with that, you know, it is worth remembering, Buck, that though it's certainly we need to investigate where was the funding,

01:30:46.040 where was the adequate security and where was the Secret Service as this man took to the top of that roof.

01:30:51.020 It can't be forgotten that they they do risk their lives every day to protect people like Trump, people like Biden.

01:30:56.720 And too many of them do not go home at the end of their shifts, both law enforcement and Secret Service.

01:31:02.160 And, you know, there's been a long history of them losing their lives in these circumstances.

01:31:07.080 It just it happens.

01:31:09.280 It wasn't it doesn't look like it was well handled, but you got to say a prayer for them, too, because their lives were also on the line.

01:31:15.680 Right. Well, look, I always and, you know, I spent 18 months in the NYPD intelligence division on loan from the CIA.

01:31:23.340 And so I was around those law, a lot of law enforcement personnel working beside them for counterterrorism purposes.

01:31:30.420 And so I'm very familiar with the risks that they take and the stories and what it's like for them and their families.

01:31:38.260 No one, I think, is questioning the bravery, the patriotism or the professionalism of any particular agent, Secret Service agent or group of agents.

01:31:50.000 That said, they have one job and it is to prevent what basically just happened.

01:31:56.380 What saved President Trump's life was not the Secret Service.

01:31:58.900 It was the really divine intervention.

01:32:02.420 I don't know what else you could call it of a round fired at him from a rifle from an elevated position that missed him by perhaps two inches.

01:32:11.880 It would have been different. It would have been fatal.

01:32:13.400 And he was able to get those clearly aimed shots off from that elevated position.

01:32:21.760 And you have to wonder how this kind of a thing could ever be possible.

01:32:25.760 The clip you showed of Reagan.

01:32:28.140 I mean, this is just this is we learn this in the CIA.

01:32:31.060 They learn this in the FBI, all the different federal agencies.

01:32:33.780 You're actually most vulnerable usually when you're moving.

01:32:36.100 You know, when it comes to static security, they can usually do a better job.

01:32:40.640 One of the reasons why they have motorcades and they're, you know, as large and well armed as they are is that when you're immobile is when things can be more problematic because people are you know, there's just there's just more unknown introduced in the situation.

01:32:55.320 As you see in the Reagan clip there, he's coming out on the street.

01:32:58.340 There's a change of venue.

01:32:59.480 There's people going with him.

01:33:00.320 I mean, when you're preparing for a presidential speech and President Trump was almost killed on live TV giving a speech.

01:33:08.660 I mean, this is the the absolute core of what the Secret Service needs to be able to do is to make situations like that safe.

01:33:19.480 And this guy got up on a rooftop and got off aimed shots and hit the president in the head with a rifle round.

01:33:24.320 I mean, this is a failure.

01:33:25.920 And I'm sorry, you know, I remember people were upset at me initially when the Uvalde massacre happened because I said there was no universe in which those officers I know it's a different situation, but just a very different situation.

01:33:39.000 But there's no universe in which those officers could explain waiting in the hallway as long as they did.

01:33:43.080 I don't care what's going on inside.

01:33:44.380 It's not possible.

01:33:45.340 It's against against tactical doctrine.

01:33:47.840 There is no world in which this is not a massive Secret Service failure.

01:33:50.920 Now, that's not on any one individual, but that is the truth.

01:33:55.600 And we need to understand that.

01:33:56.700 And there needs to be.

01:33:57.420 I mean, we'll get into these hearings and and the so what of who signed what and all of that in the days ahead.

01:34:03.800 But Secret Service got lucky.

01:34:06.880 Secret Service got lucky.

01:34:08.740 And that's not where they should be.

01:34:11.040 It should never be.

01:34:11.560 If they had taken the shooter out before he could get a shot off on the roof, I'd say, all right, the procedures worked.

01:34:17.320 He got shots off, Megan.

01:34:18.580 We could have lost President Trump tonight.

01:34:20.100 We were literal.

01:34:21.140 And we did lose one American and we did lose another another for their life right now.

01:34:26.780 Yeah.

01:34:27.820 For me, he was up on that podium for an eternity.

01:34:32.740 And if you look at I mean, the textbook doing it right.

01:34:36.240 Well, first of all, if someone's committed to losing their life, it's very hard to stop someone, whether it's a vest, whether it's a handgun or a kitchen knife.

01:34:45.740 If someone could have touch access, they could do the damage.

01:34:49.600 And what we saw from the Reagan shooting, the brief clip that you showed, their backs were to the principal.

01:34:55.840 They had designated people to get him in the car and they got him out.

01:34:59.600 I saw once he was in the car, he was in the car way too long.

01:35:03.400 I saw a couple of agents, you know, waving their gun in the air, better training, bigger budget, more personnel.

01:35:10.400 We shouldn't have to keep learning these same lessons.

01:35:14.680 Elon Musk tweeted out not long ago, moments, dangerous times ahead.

01:35:23.340 Two people, separate occasions, have already tried to kill me in the past eight months.

01:35:28.000 They were arrested with guns about 20 minute drive from Tesla HQ in Texas.

01:35:32.280 Can't keep doing this to each other.

01:35:34.940 You can have political disagreements where you say, I don't like his policy.

01:35:38.780 I don't like the new X.

01:35:40.560 I don't like SpaceX or Twitter or what you can say all of that.

01:35:44.880 We have to stop demonizing these men, in particular, with the worst, scariest, darkest, most evil rhetoric we have.

01:35:58.260 It's, again, I don't know anything about the shooter right now.

01:36:01.060 I've seen the same reports online that you guys have seen.

01:36:03.440 We just need to be more responsible in general.

01:36:06.300 Oh, gosh, okay.

01:36:09.540 Megan, I really believe, honestly, this-

01:36:12.320 Yeah, go ahead.

01:36:12.700 I'm sorry.

01:36:13.080 I was just going to say that this is not, and I know they're going to do this all week.

01:36:17.600 This is not a, we need to stop political violence on both sides moment.

01:36:21.100 I'm not saying you're saying that, but I know that's what will be said.

01:36:24.600 That will be the dodge-

01:36:26.260 No one calls Joe Biden Hitler.

01:36:28.200 Nobody says that about him.

01:36:30.140 Exactly.

01:36:30.480 That's exactly my point.

01:36:32.080 He is dangerous in word, deed, and action.

01:36:35.160 He puts self over a country.

01:36:36.200 He loathes the laws we live by.

01:36:38.400 And that's not even getting into the body of what the New York Times said about him this week.

01:36:43.400 Sorry, keep going.

01:36:45.100 You know, that's exactly the point.

01:36:47.060 And this is not a both-sides-ism thing.

01:36:49.420 This is not a moment where we should all sit around and think about political violence in general terms or anything else.

01:36:55.020 The left in this country is insane, and the left has a home in the vanguard of the Democrat Party.

01:36:59.940 And some people say increasingly call all the major shots.

01:37:02.540 They, I mean, here's an example that you won't hear talked about on CNN.

01:37:08.240 There have really been two active shooter mass assassination attempts against politicians in America in recent memory.

01:37:17.540 Obviously, what just happened to President Trump.

01:37:19.180 And then there was the shooting at the baseball field in Alexandria back in, what was it, 2018, where a Bernie Sanders voting, you know, I'm bringing that up because he said this is for health care.

01:37:30.320 That was what he said as he was shooting.

01:37:32.080 Tried to kill conservative members of Congress.

01:37:33.880 He shot Steve Scalise, tried to murder Senator Rand Paul and a whole bunch of other Republicans. 0.88

01:37:39.580 He was a leftist. 0.99

01:37:40.980 A leftist lunatic showed up with a gun and a knife trying to, and said that he wanted to kill Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh. 0.99

01:37:47.520 This is coming from one side. 0.98

01:37:50.700 The left, they're little partisan hacks at all these different news networks, at the New York Times.

01:37:55.980 They pretend they're above it, but they're not.

01:37:58.040 When you use ad Hitlerum, when you talk about people as an extinction-level event for democracy or the end of the republic, you are encouraging violence.

01:38:07.820 You are encouraging someone out there to take into their own hands changing the destiny of this country by taking the right to a free and fair election, and in this case voting for Donald Trump, out of the hands of the American people.

01:38:18.900 They have been pushing this and pushing this.

01:38:21.620 And we don't say the same thing.

01:38:22.960 Megan, if I was on your show and I said Joe Biden's going to lock up everyone's family, send them to camps and murder everybody, you would be like, Buck, what's wrong with you?

01:38:30.000 Like, you know, get off my show.

01:38:31.220 It would just never happen. 0.97

01:38:32.760 They say lunatic stuff about Trump all the time. 0.80

01:38:35.560 They say that Trump- 0.95

01:38:36.260 Can I tell you something?

01:38:38.440 Let me tell you something.

01:38:39.360 By the way, Rand Paul, too, was attacked, and it was- 0.92

01:38:42.940 Rand Paul was seriously injured by some lunatic.

01:38:45.120 By his Democrat neighbor. 0.73

01:38:46.100 Yeah.

01:38:46.500 Yeah, and people thought it was hilarious.

01:38:48.080 They loved it.

01:38:48.740 Can I just give you one example?

01:38:49.960 I don't mean to bash on just the BBC, because it's certainly not them, but my friends over in Great Britain, like Dan Wooten, and he was on the air, and he had a commentator on, Lawrence Fox, and Lawrence made some crass joke about this woman who was playing down men's mental health, and he said basically he didn't want to sleep with her in a British way.

01:39:11.460 And what man would want to shag her? 0.97

01:39:14.040 That's what he said.

01:39:14.840 And Dan said, oh, you know, she's an attractive woman, Lawrence, and, you know, whatever.

01:39:19.700 It was an awkward moment, and they ended it, and it was fine.

01:39:22.060 Both those guys got fired.

01:39:23.480 They both got fired, okay, for saying that kind of thing on the air in the UK, where they have very strict regulators.

01:39:28.800 I was on the BBC Friday night, Friday night, right?

01:39:32.500 We're Saturday night right now, and I didn't know I was participating in a panel, but suddenly they brought up the actor, Alan Cummings, who played Mr. Elton in the movie Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow years ago, if memory serves.

01:39:49.180 Fine actor, less of a great political commentator.

01:39:53.180 He was on to talk about the fact that he had just been at a Biden fundraiser, and Biden was more like the debate Biden and less like, you know, the Biden of 10 years ago.

01:40:01.880 And Alan Cummings decided to jump into my Trump analysis to say, what's wrong with those moderators of that debate? 0.59

01:40:11.000 Why didn't they point out that Trump's just been accused of child rape?

01:40:15.380 He says this on the air at the BBC, and I said, that is absolutely untrue.

01:40:25.540 That is beneath a channel like this to even allow such an allegation to be aired, and there's absolutely not a scintilla of truth to what you just said.

01:40:37.420 That guy isn't banned from the BBC.

01:40:41.220 No one's been fired.

01:40:42.060 You didn't even hear about this story, did you?

01:40:43.780 Didn't even make a wave.

01:40:44.820 Didn't, no problem.

01:40:46.480 You can go out there and proclaim that Donald Trump is now a child molester, which is defamation per se, meaning damages will be assumed.

01:40:55.860 You don't have to prove it.

01:40:57.000 Someone says you're a child molester, they're presumed.

01:40:59.320 No problem.

01:41:00.640 You say about one leftist woman that nobody wants to sleep with her after she says men's mental health doesn't really deserve much attention.

01:41:08.460 And you're fired. 1.00

01:41:09.400 Your ass is fired. 1.00

01:41:10.380 I realize it's granular. 1.00

01:41:11.440 I'm just saying, to your point, Buck, there's such a disgusting double standard, and it has to stop.

01:41:18.680 It has to stop.

01:41:20.000 This just in.

01:41:21.000 And unfortunately-

01:41:22.260 The Trump motorcade just left Butler Memorial Hospital en route to Pittsburgh.

01:41:27.080 Do not know exactly where he goes from there, but thank God the Trump motorcade just left the hospital.

01:41:32.820 We presume that means Trump is in the motorcade.

01:41:34.780 And if so, that's great news.

01:41:37.080 Certainly would love to hear that he's been given a clean bill of health and has been released from the hospital.

01:41:41.660 One more soundbite for you.

01:41:42.920 And before I say goodbye, in this new soundbite we have, guys, I'm just going to describe it.

01:41:48.440 Apparently, we're going to see a Secret Service member on a rooftop appearing to shoot at the sniper who killed the Trump supporter and shot at President Trump.

01:42:00.840 Let's watch.

01:42:02.340 And you know, that's a little bit old, that chart.

01:42:04.640 That chart's a couple of months old.

01:42:06.260 And if you want to really see something that's sad, take a look at what happened.

01:42:10.460 Okay, so what we're seeing, it's hard to see in the tiny little box that we're all looking at, but it appears to go, we'll play it again and we can talk over it.

01:42:21.420 We don't need the sound.

01:42:23.380 But you're seeing a white rooftop.

01:42:26.260 And I guess if we zoom in there, you can see a Secret Service member.

01:42:29.340 And this would explain-

01:42:30.040 Yeah, it's a counter-sniper team.

01:42:32.380 Okay, this would explain perfectly, Doc.

01:42:33.960 Right, this is the person who should have seen the man in the first place before the trigger was pulled.

01:42:43.100 Well, again, I'm curious what our colleague thinks about this as well.

01:42:48.520 They had that roof secured, positive control, sniper team.

01:42:53.000 The other roof they leave open to anyone to just crawl up on?

01:42:56.780 At minimum, have a local PD guy posted at the base of that building, at minimum.

01:43:04.000 At minimum.

01:43:05.220 I mean, look, I don't want to sound crazy.

01:43:07.700 There are people that are now starting to float all kinds of conspiracies about, you know, I mean, I'm not doing that.

01:43:12.940 But I'm just saying, when there's this level of lapse, people start to wonder what the heck is going on.

01:43:19.420 And I'd agree.

01:43:21.540 I mean, I've also, I've had, it's funny, I had three friends, me and my PD tonight, all saying the same thing, which is, he was on the stage way too long.

01:43:27.700 So that's absolutely true as well from a procedural standpoint.

01:43:31.680 But leaving open the elevated platform for the shooter to get to in the first place is, I mean, that just feels like an unpardonable oversight from a security and preparation for the venue perspective.

01:43:43.220 It's a sin, this is what has to happen for the game to be raised, for more procedures, for more personnel, for a bigger budget, that this has to happen this way.

01:43:56.180 I'll tell you this, Trump rallies are still, people will wait.

01:44:00.120 I mean, they would wait before, Megan, as you know, for 24 hours.

01:44:04.920 I mean, they would camp out, they'd do whatever to go see Trump.

01:44:07.260 Trump's rallies are now going to be on lockdown, but I think you'll see still huge numbers of people because more than ever, I mean, they will want to support.

01:44:15.860 There'll be lines around the block to get in.

01:44:17.360 There'll be lines around the block to get in, and there'll be lines around the block to get in on election day too.

01:44:21.040 We pulled the cover, you referenced, Buck, the New Republic, in June with a morphing of Trump and Hitler.

01:44:32.140 And the headline on the cover is American fascism, what it would look like.

01:44:38.900 Shame on you. 0.86

01:44:40.660 Shame on you.

01:44:41.560 It wasn't just them.

01:44:43.880 The Washington Post, December of 23, look at this.

01:44:50.060 The two men, their heads merged the back of Trump's into the back of Hitler's in a very similar pose. 0.56

01:44:57.440 I mean, I know you just said it, but this is-

01:44:59.440 And listen, wait, let me just read you the caption.

01:45:02.220 Yes, it's okay to compare Trump to Hitler.

01:45:04.740 Don't let me stop you.

01:45:06.260 I'm Mike Godwin.

01:45:07.780 Shame on you, Mike Godwin.

01:45:09.560 Shame on you all.

01:45:10.560 Go ahead.

01:45:11.840 No, it's just, this is incitement, Megan.

01:45:14.380 They've been inciting and inciting and inciting.

01:45:17.300 And now someone took a shot at Trump.

01:45:18.880 And it's only going to get worse.

01:45:21.100 It's not going to get better.

01:45:22.520 When you have illegals coming into this country, robbing gangs, you know, taking over people's homes. 1.00

01:45:29.900 When you see prosecutors inventing laws to convict a former president, this is only going to get worse before it gets better.

01:45:38.240 This just in from Jackie Heinrich of Fox News.

01:45:42.920 His former senior federal law enforcement source tells Fox, quote, secret service failed.

01:45:49.140 Shooter was high ground, took way too long to get him out.

01:45:52.160 And he was exposed if there was a second shooter.

01:45:54.400 That was an inch away from his assassination.

01:45:57.200 That, again, sourcing a senior federal law enforcement source, which dovetails with my own former federal law enforcement source here on the right and my former law enforcement source at the cop level on the left.

01:46:10.940 Go ahead, Buck.

01:46:11.360 I mean, I was going to say, unfortunately, you know, CIA and the intelligence world, there's a long history of trying to prevent these kinds of things from happening.

01:46:19.400 And intelligence agencies from unsavory places do these kinds of things.

01:46:23.640 And this was a this was a massive failure.

01:46:26.300 I mean, there's no way around that reality.

01:46:29.660 And as I said, we just got really lucky.

01:46:31.880 So everyone say a prayer tonight because God was watching out for President Trump.

01:46:36.260 God was watching out for this country.

01:46:39.540 Absolutely right.

01:46:40.940 Guys, thank you.

01:46:42.020 Thank you both so much for being here.

01:46:43.560 Bill, Buck, my best.

01:46:45.860 I want to play you another look at the video that we have been watching.

01:46:51.220 This this moment that will live in American history as iconic, iconically terrible, iconically inspirational in the way that Trump handled it, iconically disturbing in what we've come to.

01:47:06.580 When an assassin got into a Trump rally, appears to have gotten up on a rooftop that was unprotected, took a shot at the former president of the United States and soon to be nominated Republican candidate for president of the United States, hit him in the head.

01:47:23.020 And took the life of a Trump fan and another who is reportedly fighting for his own life at this hour.

01:47:32.440 He or she don't know the gender before he was killed by return fire.

01:47:38.060 Watch.

01:47:38.960 We see something that said, take a look at what happened.

01:47:41.460 We see something that said, take a look at what happened.

01:48:11.460 Move, move, move, move.

01:48:14.040 Hawkeye's here.

01:48:15.060 Hawkeye's here, move his there.

01:48:16.700 Get ready, get ready.

01:48:18.340 You ready?

01:48:25.800 Are we good?

01:48:26.640 Shooter's down.

01:48:27.460 Shooter's down.

01:48:28.320 Are we good to move?

01:48:29.660 Are we clear?

01:48:30.620 We're clear, we're clear.

01:48:31.960 We're clear.

01:48:34.180 We're clear.

01:48:34.400 let me get my shoes let me get my shoes let me get my shoes let me get my shoes hold that 0.69

01:48:45.920 in your head it's bloody so we gotta move to the bus 0.95

01:48:48.300 let me get my shoes 0.99

01:48:50.860 okay watch out 0.51

01:48:54.380 fist in the air

01:49:01.100 USA, USA, USA, USA

01:49:27.100 Oh guys, maybe, maybe you're feeling it at home too. I, that, that, that brought chills,

01:49:38.220 that brought chills seeing him with the fist and stopping the secret service from escorting him

01:49:43.380 out. I realize it against protocol and all that, but like the man stopped the secret service from

01:49:48.060 getting him into the beast so that he could show his supporters he was okay. So that he could

01:49:53.180 remind them to fight and he could show his strength. It's natural. It's who he is. It came to him in a

01:49:59.400 way I have to admit, I don't know that I think I'd be like, yes, get me out of here. Um, it's who he

01:50:04.900 is. And it was inspirational. Um, it, it was, I want to update some of our earlier reporting.

01:50:10.980 We told you that Charlie Kirk, who's very tight with Trump world said there's a possibility that

01:50:15.140 Trump could show up at the UFC fight tonight in Denver. Um, now the New York post reporting that

01:50:20.740 will not happen, uh, that a source for the Trump campaign confirmed directly to the New York post.

01:50:26.080 No. And thank God for that. The man needs to be with his family on a night like this. Um,

01:50:32.280 a senior Trump advisor is, uh, telling Phil Wegman of real clear politics.com that Trump remains quote

01:50:40.440 in a very good mood and that he has resolved to continue with the convention this week, that there

01:50:47.320 are quote, no plans to deviate on anything that was already planned. Extraordinary news.

01:50:53.580 Want to bring in my friend, Jesse Kelly, uh, former Marine now commentator and host of, uh,

01:50:59.280 I'm right on the first TV. Jesse, your thoughts on what's happened in the United States of America

01:51:04.880 tonight. Well, first, what a remarkable level of composure from president Trump to stand up.

01:51:12.340 The dude was asking for his shoes. Did you hear him on the microphone? He's like, hold on,

01:51:15.320 I got to get my shoes. He just got shot in the ear. I don't like when my son's flicked me in the ear.

01:51:19.900 He got shot in the ear and he got up. He was worried about his shoes. So look, all the credit

01:51:25.140 in the world. That is, uh, that's a, that's, that's very, very impressive to him. And the people

01:51:30.940 needed to see that too. Can you imagine how scared the people would be if they didn't know?

01:51:35.440 And for him to keep his thoughts together enough to reassure them, I thought was awesome.

01:51:40.220 But look, Megan, I've got some dark thoughts, but these are thoughts that you and I

01:51:43.820 have talked about many times on the show. We have a serious problem with communist violence

01:51:48.900 in the country. That is what they believe. The left believes in violence. It's not what they do.

01:51:55.020 It's who they are. All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. Mao Zedong said that a long time

01:52:00.720 ago. You don't have to look far, go on Facebook or something like that. You'll see just the regular

01:52:06.980 neighborhood Democrat when they get mad at somebody. Hey, someone post his address.

01:52:10.500 It's just natural for these people because in their minds, they're fighting a revolution and

01:52:17.440 there are two different kinds of communists. I talk about this all the time. There are the elite

01:52:22.520 ones and there are the street ones. You have guys like Chuck Schumer. They'll get up and they'll give

01:52:27.560 speeches and they'll threaten Brett Kavanaugh by name and tell him he's going to reap the whirlwind.

01:52:32.980 And then he just washes his hands of the whole thing. And then there's an assassin who flies from

01:52:36.920 California with a gun outside of Kavanaugh's home, ready to put a bullet in his mouth. 1.00

01:52:41.060 This is how it works. And the reason it works this way is because after these street scumbags do these 1.00

01:52:47.900 acts of violence, they're protected. They're given legal protection by the dirty elite communists. 0.99

01:52:54.200 So I need to point to the Antifa people who firebombed an NYPD cop car and should have faced 15 years in 0.86

01:53:00.380 the clink for terrorism. They're already out on the street, of course, protesting for Palestine or 0.55

01:53:05.140 something stupid like that. This happens all over. Democrat politicians, Democrat judges, 1.00

01:53:11.480 Democrat DAs, they let these people go free with the understanding, with the anticipation

01:53:17.820 that they're going to do the violent things Democrats want done. We don't have a political

01:53:23.700 violence problem in this country. And everyone who's saying that is dead freaking wrong. We have

01:53:28.600 a communist violence problem in this country. I remember it was Breitbart, I think it was. I want to

01:53:33.640 make sure I give them credit. They printed an article in Trump's last year of office where they

01:53:38.400 documented that it was over 390 acts of violence against Trump supporters just during Trump's four

01:53:45.320 years, including a Trump supporter executed in Oregon by Antifa. This is the norm. It is how they

01:53:52.200 operate. And you have an FBI arresting school board moms, pro-lifers, and January 6th memos who

01:53:59.500 sauntered through the Capitol. And no serious effort has been made zero to attack groups like Antifa.

01:54:07.420 And we hear the allegations. We don't know details yet. I don't want to act like we do.

01:54:11.680 But there are these vile, violent street animal networks like Antifa, Black Lives Matter, the people

01:54:18.600 who've been firebombing the pro-life centers. And when you ask the attorney general, what's he say about it?

01:54:23.480 Well, they were wearing masks and it was at night. Nothing we could do about it. But he sure can send a SWAT

01:54:28.800 team to a pastor's house and stick guns in the face of his wife and his kids. We have a communist violence 0.96

01:54:34.840 problem. It is not only encouraged, it is allowed at the highest levels of our government. And there needs

01:54:41.700 to be a government clean out like no tomorrow. This is a government problem.

01:54:46.260 It's amazing when I hear you talk because just this week, I was listening to some leftist podcast

01:54:54.200 and they were talking about, it's very serious what Trump is threatening to do now as the way has

01:54:58.720 been cleared by the Supreme Court when he's talking about draining the swamp and taking control of

01:55:04.180 certain federal agencies and putting in only loyalists. You know, if he's going to take a, correct,

01:55:09.940 exactly. That's what we want him to do. We do not want this regime to stay in control

01:55:15.420 for one minute longer than they have to. This is what we can expect. Maybe not gunfire on your

01:55:21.940 average day, but the complete undermining of the man and the attempted ruination of the elected

01:55:27.500 president. We've talked before about how they intentionally ruined his first term with the

01:55:33.380 impeachment and the nonstop Russia, Russia, Russia, and the deep state and the undermining and the FBI

01:55:38.440 against him. And it's only going to get worse unless Trump is empowered to go in there and put

01:55:44.420 in people who will do what he wants, who will enact the Trump agenda, which if he's elected again,

01:55:50.920 will have been voted on by the American people. Most normal people understand that's how government

01:55:56.900 should work. There shouldn't be a civil war unspoken internally in the government after a full and

01:56:04.300 free democratic election, but today underscores the lengths to which they will go. And Jesse,

01:56:12.280 you've been on my show enough. We've talked about it, your book, you call the leftists communists and

01:56:17.280 we've laughed about it, but you've justified why you call them that. And I have to say, I'm feeling

01:56:22.920 that tonight more than ever like this, the crazy lunatic left. And yet we don't know whether this guy 0.97

01:56:30.260 was Antifa, I've seen the reports you've seen, but that element of the far left is genuinely dangerous

01:56:38.500 and does need to get the January 6th treatment when they engage in violence. And yet they've been

01:56:46.420 treated entirely differently, whether it's in civil lawsuits or in criminal cases, than Meemaw on J6,

01:56:54.420 as you point out. Well, Megan, and just a couple of things off the top of my head that I can think

01:57:00.120 of that just took place in just the last couple of years. The FBI, they kneeled down for George

01:57:05.780 Floyd protests. There's video of this. You can look at pictures of it online. FBI agents in uniform

01:57:10.900 kneeling down before Black Lives Matter. FBI recruiting at pride events. I know you've probably

01:57:16.400 already talked about this. The slide that was revealed from Fort Bragg, which they now call Fort

01:57:21.540 Liberty because we can't preserve anything in this country. The slide revealing terrorist groups

01:57:26.380 and the national right to life was one of those terrorist groups. This is why I'm so focused on

01:57:31.920 government right now, because the street animals would be nothing with very little law enforcement

01:57:37.280 focus. These groups can be found out, broken up, imprisoned and taken care of. But this stuff is allowed

01:57:44.480 and oftentimes facilitated by a government that has turned all of its guns inward against its most

01:57:51.200 patriotic citizens. I explain this to people all the time. They're not destroying the FBI. They're not

01:57:56.860 destroying the military. They're building one. They're building one. There's a reason guys like Obama get in

01:58:02.700 there and they fire 100 generals in the first five minutes and they promote a bunch of loyalists. There's a

01:58:08.000 reason why they put the VAX mandate for the military so quickly to run out anybody ideologically on the

01:58:14.440 right. And then there's a new gay pride parade on an Air Force base. Not that that's unusual for the Air 0.92

01:58:19.660 Force. There's a new gay pride parade every five minutes on an Air Force base. So you have these 1.00

01:58:24.420 guys, anyone who's ideologically on the right, they email my show all the time and say, Jesse, I'm done.

01:58:29.460 I'm getting out. Jesse, I was going to join the Marines. Now I'm not going to join. Jesse, I'm not

01:58:33.700 doing it. And the result of that is the same thing these dirty communist scumbags have done everywhere 1.00

01:58:39.220 they've ever taken over. They take all the forces of government, the state police, they take the military 1.00

01:58:44.940 and they fill it up with their loyalists. And they have always, from the Bolshevik revolution

01:58:50.420 to Cambodia, to Spain, to you name it, every single time they have done this, they have done it with

01:58:56.960 the intention of turning those guns against their political opponents. And every single time they

01:59:03.640 have done it with the justification that their political opponents are saboteurs or threats to

01:59:08.400 democracy, threat to democracy. He'll end democracy. Do you remember, Megan? I know you do.

01:59:13.440 When Joe Biden gave that evil speech with the red backdrop and he had the Marines behind him,

01:59:18.600 totally inappropriate to have the Marines there because there was a political speech calling us

01:59:23.400 enemies of democracy, threat to democracy, threat to the foundation of democracy. And the next day,

01:59:29.480 Corinne Diversity Hire, his press secretary, was asked, why were the Marines there? That was

01:59:34.380 inappropriate. And this is what she said verbatim. They were there because they're the defenders of our

01:59:39.920 democracy. People don't want to believe this is the case. I'm telling you right now, the government,

01:59:45.080 the most dangerous thing going on in the world is the government turning its guns against its own

01:59:50.640 citizens. As fervently as this government fought the war on terror during the global war on terror era,

01:59:57.560 of which I was part of, that is as fervently as this government is refocusing its efforts against

02:00:03.540 the right in this country. And if you can't see it, you're blind. We have a major problem on our hands.

02:00:09.060 Honestly, it's very scary because we've lived this. We've watched the things that you just outlaid

02:00:15.340 that Merrick Garland's FBI did label parents domestic terrorists and start looking into the

02:00:21.360 ones who showed up at school board meetings to protest the COVID policies or went over their time

02:00:26.820 when they were at the microphone. That actually happened. They did crack down on churches that

02:00:31.680 continued to hold services during COVID. They did take the BLM protesters and Antifa and let them go

02:00:40.700 just as soon as they, if they were arrested at all, just as soon as they were arrested. And then in the

02:00:44.960 case of many, paid them reparations for the way the police arrested them. The police weren't treating

02:00:53.080 them with the kid gloves that were required when they were trying to keep them from burning down

02:00:57.960 police stations, which actually happened and federal buildings, which they were trying to attack. I mean,

02:01:03.920 this has been our past two years.

02:01:06.520 Megan, and I'm sorry to interrupt, but I want everyone to remember how exactly the school board

02:01:12.720 thing came about. This is how it came about. We know this from after the fact. Parents were showing

02:01:17.280 up at school boards. They didn't want the masks on their kids. They didn't. They were getting angry

02:01:21.620 about all the America sucks. White people are evil crap that's taught in our schools today. 1.00

02:01:26.520 So moms and dads were showing up and they were just getting loud at school boards. No violence at 1.00

02:01:30.580 all. And we found all this out after the fact from documents that were released. How did it end up

02:01:36.500 these parents were labeled domestic terrorists? The White House, Joe Biden's White House,

02:01:42.380 coordinated with the National Teachers Union to compose a letter. So Joe Biden's White House

02:01:48.800 coordinated with the Teachers Union to compose a letter. That letter was then sent to Attorney

02:01:54.000 General Merrick Garland, who used the letter composed by the White House as justification

02:01:59.320 to stick the FBI like a bunch of rabid dogs they are after school board parents and counterterrorism

02:02:06.960 heads of the Federal Bureau of Investigation met privately to discuss which terrorist threat label

02:02:13.540 to put on school board parents. The details of the things that you just laid out are 10 times as

02:02:20.000 frightening as the headlines themselves. And that's why I am extremely suspicious about what

02:02:25.600 happened today. Extremely suspicious. And we have a big problem on our hands.

02:02:30.640 I mean, I can't go that far. I think this is going to be some leftist lunatic, but I don't know. 0.96

02:02:36.900 And I've seen I mean, but like I know that I don't whatever. We'll leave it at that. We'll see 0.96

02:02:41.320 what happens. I do want to say this. Dan Bongino, former Secret Service, protected Obama, was on the

02:02:45.880 presidential detail reporting as follows, tweeting on X, U.S. Secret Service Director Kim Cheadle must

02:02:53.560 resign. She was warned about this. She ignored the warnings. And then he doubles down. I want to repeat

02:02:59.280 and can absolutely confirm the U.S. Secret Service Director Kim Cheadle has repeatedly turned down

02:03:04.540 requests for a larger security footprint around President Trump, despite knowing the threat level

02:03:10.680 is catastrophic. Resign tonight. This dovetails somewhat with the reporting from the Federalist

02:03:16.700 Sean Davis, who said requests had been made by the Trump campaign to increase security and that DHS,

02:03:24.560 which oversees Secret Service, had refused. Dan Bongino saying it was the Secret Service

02:03:29.560 director herself, Kim Cheadle, who said no. Where was she tonight? And what was her role in saying

02:03:38.360 no to additional security for the most threatened man in America? To remind our audience tonight in

02:03:45.820 Butler, Pennsylvania, the former president of the United States was the attempted target, was the target

02:03:53.760 of an attempted assassination. The bullet grazed his ear inches, if not centimeters away from his brain.

02:04:02.960 At least one person behind him was killed. An emergency room physician who was on site testifying that he

02:04:09.680 attempted to save that person's life and saw that person's brain matter, understanding that they were

02:04:15.760 already gone. A second Trump fan was hit. And as far as we know, and now we've been on the air a few

02:04:22.400 hours, continues to struggle for his or her life in the hospital tonight. I'm sure we'll have updates

02:04:27.840 on them at some point soon. President Trump, by some sort of miracle, is fine and has, we understand,

02:04:35.960 been released from the hospital and is extending his thanks to the Secret Service, as are his family

02:04:42.660 members, Ivanka and Don Jr. among them. This is one of those moments where you need to pray for our

02:04:50.680 nation. We need to pray for us to come together. There was a guy, forgive me, I can't remember his

02:04:57.700 name, Jesse. He wrote the book Bowling Alone back in like 95, right around there, talking about how our

02:05:04.100 society was getting more and more fragmented and isolationist toward each other, staying at home and

02:05:11.240 watching the TV too much, not going out to join the bowling league, right, together. And that it was

02:05:19.720 leading to a real deterioration in mental health, community, country. Like the dynamic between oneself and

02:05:27.460 one's mental health and oneself and one's country was precipitously falling. And he was trying to sound the

02:05:34.620 alarm. He recently spoke with, I think it was the times again and said, um, nothing's improved.

02:05:44.140 Nothing's improved. I, it was just this morning. I think, I think I listened to this this morning on

02:05:47.640 their podcast, uh, where he said, I tried to sound the alarm, but it's only gotten worse. You know, it was

02:05:53.020 six or seven years before the iPhone came out that I published. First, it was an article, then it was a book.

02:05:59.020 And we've only gone into our corners more, both in terms of our devices, the way we live our lives

02:06:06.320 and our politics. And he got annoying and started to talk about Trump, of course, in a completely

02:06:12.040 inappropriate way. But the underlying point, the first point is well taken. And, you know, I don't,

02:06:19.580 we don't have a lot of moments of unity. The last one I remember, the really big one, it wasn't COVID.

02:06:25.020 That was very politically driven. It was nine 11 where we understood that we were under attack by

02:06:31.520 an outsider. And we came together to stand shoulder to shoulder as Americans. This is something

02:06:36.240 different because of the things you just outlined. There has been a cauldron of toxicity around not

02:06:44.920 just Trump, but people who vote for Trump, people who love Trump, people who show up at the rallies

02:06:51.400 could be an 80 year old, could be a 20 year old. And we've allowed it to go on for too long.

02:06:59.860 Again, I don't, if this is some Antifa nut or some nut, who knows? There's a difference between

02:07:05.720 causation and correlation. We can't yet go there, but it's too much because we're fraying,

02:07:13.060 we're fragmenting as countrymen, right? It's like, we can't even agree on patriotism,

02:07:19.600 loyalty to our nation, saluting the flag, flying the flag. I don't know if this is going to be any

02:07:25.880 sort of a healing moment eventually. Right now, I think people are going to feel like, forgive me

02:07:32.800 for getting, you know, too bellicose, that it's war, right? That, that it's war, that someone's

02:07:42.340 declared war on president Trump and that president Trump will be defended and that his values and his

02:07:48.480 beliefs and the beliefs of his core supporters will be defended. And I pray there's not any

02:07:53.620 escalatory violence. Well, let's, let's be clear. It is war, but it doesn't need to be the violent

02:08:02.280 kind. It really does not. And it should not be. And I want to caution everyone tonight, as you can

02:08:06.800 probably tell I'm mad, you know, Megan's mad. How could you not be mad? I'm a human being. My blood

02:08:12.560 pressure is through the roof right now. Look how frigging red my face is. But there's nobody, 0.84

02:08:17.340 nobody, nobody for you to go after right now. Nothing for you to do. Pray, be angry, go punch a

02:08:24.760 punching bag somewhere, go to the shooting range. If you want to blow off some steam, go for a jog. 0.95

02:08:29.740 There's no, we don't know details right now. We don't know details about anything. We don't know

02:08:33.140 details about the shooter. And we may never know the way everyone lies about everything in this

02:08:36.840 freaking country. We don't, we don't, we don't know anything right now, but you should channel 0.61

02:08:41.820 that anger into positive fighting, positive fighting back, digging in. We do now share a

02:08:49.280 country, Megan, with people who hate it. It was not always this way. If the Democrat party was not

02:08:54.360 always this way at all. Yeah. Guys like JFK were freaking war heroes, almost died for this country.

02:08:59.100 It was not this way at all. A lot of this ties back, a lot of this ties back to Barack Obama and the

02:09:04.980 people he filled the government with. We've never had somebody like that who went and grabbed, you

02:09:09.740 know, maybe normally a Democrat would grab a, a Democrat city councilman or a Democrat out of this 0.59

02:09:15.360 department or that apartment. We've never had somebody like Obama who went and grabbed the most

02:09:19.600 radical Maoist out of academia and put them in positions of power in the government. It's not an

02:09:25.680 accident. We are this divided. They're trying to divide us. That is the entire point. The entire

02:09:30.680 platform now is white people suck and men suck and America sucks and this sucks and that sucks and 1.00

02:09:37.220 that. And it is intentional. It's intentional to divide us, get us to hate our country, get us to 1.00

02:09:42.720 hate each other. I had a very revealing conversation with a Democrat neighbor, kind of neighbor of mine.

02:09:47.180 He lives in my area a couple of years ago. I was complaining about the NFL and doing all the

02:09:53.320 kneeling and all the black lives matter, stupid stuff they were doing. And I said, I gave that, 1.00

02:09:58.360 that line that we all probably gave at the time. Why does it have to get political? This isn't

02:10:02.540 political. And he looked at me and he said, what are you talking about? It's always been political.

02:10:07.040 They have the military there. Now process that in your head, Megan process that for him,

02:10:14.080 the United States military is political. The defenders of the country is political. Where are we?

02:10:21.300 We are at war. It is a culture war, hopefully. And that's exactly where it needs to stay.

02:10:26.340 Right. But we are at war and there will only be one big.

02:10:31.080 Hmm. Jesse Kelly. Thank you. Thanks for coming on. Thanks for your service. As I always say to you,

02:10:36.400 it's great to see you. Appreciate you, Megan.

02:10:40.440 The author I refer to from Bowling Alone is Robert Putnam. And you know, one of the points he was making

02:10:46.040 today that was annoying was it started off by saying there are two ties that are important in

02:10:53.520 socialization. One is to people who are like you. And the second is to people who are not like you.

02:10:59.600 And it's the reason he singled out MAGA is because he said, well, they don't, they don't pursue number

02:11:06.100 two. They, they, they have the bonding that comes with being around people who are like you,

02:11:11.680 but they refuse to reach out beyond MAGA. You know, they demonize people outside of MAGA.

02:11:16.380 Robert Putnam is the author's name. And I laughed when I heard, I mean, I'm used to, as anybody

02:11:22.640 is listening to the left, demonize the right and certainly any Trump supporters, but what an

02:11:29.120 absurdity that these court groups have been, they were literally labeled deplorables by the

02:11:35.640 democratic candidate for president. She made a whole speech about how disgusting they were. 1.00

02:11:40.060 As Jesse just pointed out, they're told they're evil because they're men or they're white period. 0.98

02:11:48.660 They're called Karens and made fun of because they're white and they may break down emotionally

02:11:57.320 at something that he completely misdiagnoses. Who's rejecting other who's refusing to reach across.

02:12:08.020 Who's refusing to see a human being on the other side. I think very much their reaction

02:12:13.360 is a, is a reaction to the way they've been treated and not the ones who drew fire first.

02:12:20.600 Maybe that's the wrong word to use on a night like this. I asked the team to get my next guest

02:12:27.040 as our final guest tonight, because he's an old soul and he's extremely learned. And he's one of those

02:12:35.460 guys I always want to hear from when something big has happened in our country. And his name is

02:12:40.520 Dennis Prager of PragerU. He's with us tonight. Dennis, thank you so much for being here.

02:12:46.560 Your reaction.

02:12:46.920 By the way, I was an old soul when I was a kid, just for the record.

02:12:50.960 I believe that. Zero chance. I don't believe that.

02:12:54.580 So, uh, I was just listening to your last guest and I couldn't agree more. I wrote at least 15 years

02:13:04.220 ago that we're in the civil war and I pray, I wrote in the article, I pray it remains nonviolent,

02:13:08.980 but you know, you mentioned a causality and, uh, correlation, not necessarily being the issue.

02:13:18.180 And you're entirely right. Sometimes there's causality and sometimes just two things happen

02:13:23.080 at the same time. Correct. But I do believe there's causality. Look, uh, the new Republic,

02:13:28.180 uh, which was once a liberal, magnificent, uh, liberal magazine, which is now, uh, just, uh,

02:13:35.560 another almost Stolenoid organ of the left has portrayed, uh, in its most recent issues,

02:13:42.220 Donald Trump as a fascist, as a Hitlerian, as a Nazi. And you can't have it both ways. You can't 0.84

02:13:50.440 say that someone is Hitler and then say, Oh gee, why would anybody shoot him? If you, in fact, 0.95

02:13:58.880 uh, morality has been my preoccupation all of my life. If you believe someone is Hitler,

02:14:04.440 you are obligated to shoot him. I wish somebody in Germany had shot Hitler in the 1930s. Uh, this, 0.98

02:14:11.340 the Holocaust would not have taken place. World War II would not have taken place. Not at least 0.97

02:14:15.580 not in Europe. Uh, so you can't, you can't do both. Oh, we have nothing to do with this,

02:14:21.620 even though we keep calling him Hitler. The New York times just last week repeated the horrible lie,

02:14:27.420 uh, that Prager, you put out a video six years ago that the Charlottesville lie was a lie.

02:14:33.100 It has, uh, Steve Cortez did it. It has a, I don't know, about 10 million views. And, uh, it was a lie.

02:14:39.440 He never said that there were fine Nazis. This was a lie. He said it at the debate in front of 50

02:14:44.780 million people, president Biden. That was one thing he managed to get out. That's correct. That is

02:14:49.600 exactly right. And they, they, uh, Snopes, which is not a conservative quote unquote fact checker,

02:14:57.260 uh, said just about two weeks ago, he never said it said it's a lie. The Charlottesville claim

02:15:04.440 is a lie. This is Snopes and the New York times repeated it last week and Joe Biden repeated it

02:15:10.540 a few weeks ago. So you, you can't, you can't have it both ways. Gee, we're shocked. Nobody would kill

02:15:17.360 who's on our side. But if you, if you keep claiming that he's a Nazi and a fascist, do you know that in

02:15:24.780 Louisiana that they have decided to, uh, uh, enable schools to use PragerU videos in classrooms

02:15:31.440 and the Louisiana, the Democrats of the Louisiana state Senate, uh, tried to pass a bill banning

02:15:38.480 PragerU videos from classrooms. And in the bill, I saw it five times. PragerU was listed as anti-Semitic.

02:15:47.000 I happen to be a religious Jew.

02:15:51.220 That's amazing. I mean, we could spend all night talking about what the demonization of the right

02:15:55.840 and it's just fine with them. That's absolutely fine with them. I mean, I can't, I, I cannot

02:15:59.620 imagine what this press would be doing had it been, God forbid, a shooting of an attempted shooting

02:16:07.260 of president Biden. You know, they, they, they would be blaming you and me and Ben Shapiro and

02:16:15.660 Tucker Carlson and Dan Bongino and, you know, Dana Perino. They would date, they would blame the,

02:16:22.040 the blandest, you know, most milquetoast, no offense to Dana. You know what I'm saying? Um,

02:16:26.860 people on the right and the, and the bomb throwers. That's, that's what they would be doing. No one

02:16:31.760 here is blaming that. We don't know what was behind this man's motivation. He might have just

02:16:37.540 been a nutcase that we've seen as well. Crazy people do crazy things sometimes. And we later find 0.98

02:16:45.940 out they never even watched the news. They never even read the news, but it would be irresponsible

02:16:51.280 on a night like this, not to lament the growing culture of hatred around this man and his supporters.

02:16:59.460 It has to stop. It was only a matter of time before somebody found themselves in danger. And so we'll

02:17:06.680 find out more about the shooter undoubtedly because he's dead. And I'm sure they're pouring through his

02:17:11.040 laptop, his social media and his friends and family right now, this eyewitness account, just into Fox

02:17:16.760 news. People started screaming. And so we all just hit the ground and I started looking around at what

02:17:22.620 was going on. I saw one of the secret service guys. He was firing back. There were probably six or seven

02:17:28.320 shots total maybe. And then I woke up in the bleachers and people were just screaming and crying and there

02:17:33.780 was blood everywhere. There's just, there's blood all over his family members. There was a guy up there

02:17:40.380 trying to administer CPR. It just all happened so fast, so quick, like still trying to process

02:17:46.520 everything. And we're just all down on the ground and people down on the ground are crying. We don't

02:17:51.760 know what to do. People are just screaming and crying. So that's interesting because, you know,

02:17:57.480 that not all of that was on cam. What we saw was some extremely brave, strong people stand up almost

02:18:02.980 as if they were just not going to let president Trump get shot again, almost like they were secret

02:18:08.760 service in the line of danger, not cowering, which I 100% would have been. And this from Scott

02:18:15.200 McFarlane, who adds from CBS News, he's a reporter there. There were a bunch of kids at this rally

02:18:20.900 today in all sections. Can't unhear those screams. You know, that's one of the things, Dennis, about

02:18:27.600 unleashing this at a Trump rally. You are taking the lives of innocent civilians in your hands, including

02:18:36.100 the lives of the elderly, the weak, the disabled, the children. And of course, to some extent,

02:18:44.240 it would require a madman man to do such a thing.

02:18:50.080 Well, that's it's a rare case of where I might differ with you. I don't think it requires a

02:18:56.960 madman. If you believe Trump is Hitler, I would think a completely rational and even 0.66

02:19:03.140 conscience driven human being would try to kill him. If I were German and I could go back in time, 0.99

02:19:11.040 I would have tried to kill Hitler. And I'm not a madman. There are times where there is such 0.98

02:19:17.300 spectacular evil that that is your only choice. As I say, you can't call him Hitler. You can't call

02:19:24.080 us fascists and then say, oh, gee, why would anybody shoot you? It's one or the other.

02:19:30.940 I talked moments ago with Jesse Kelly about this. I mean, really, it wasn't earth shattering,

02:19:41.460 but there was a moment on the BBC where this actor who was on when I was on casually made

02:19:47.020 reference to Trump being a child molester, that there were allegations. No, not true. That was

02:19:53.040 one of those online forums. If you're really on the leftist left and you dig down deep, you can find

02:19:58.480 things like that. And there was somebody claiming, not him, but somebody claiming that the Washington

02:20:03.020 Post or the AP had also reported it. No. In any event, there was no massive scandal around it.

02:20:12.160 Nobody lost their job. It wasn't even a thing. I didn't even see it in the news thereafter. I mean,

02:20:16.420 I corrected it live on the air. Then this just out. Okay. It was two weeks ago, my friend,

02:20:25.100 Dan Wooten calling my attention to it. The BBC presenter, that's what they call them over there.

02:20:30.320 David Aronovich just two weeks ago called for Joe Biden to quote, have Trump murdered. There was no

02:20:39.020 pushback from the media elite or the establishment who considered the comments completely acceptable.

02:20:44.620 Just looking at the, at the actual tweet sent out by David Aronovich. If I was Biden, I'd hurry up

02:20:51.060 and have Trump murdered on the basis that he is a threat to America's security. Hashtag SCOTUS. 0.98

02:20:59.520 This is unbelievable. Like I'm in the news, but there's only so much you can digest in a day-to-day

02:21:05.520 basis. It's absolutely stunning that, that people have been actually, it's not even the, there's not

02:21:13.740 even any subtlety to it, Dennis, the new Republic with the faces merged, the Washington Post with the

02:21:19.500 two men merged and saying, yes, he's Hitler. This guy with the BBC, I'm saying in the UK,

02:21:25.320 you get fired for saying, Oh, I don't want to have sex with that particular woman. 0.99

02:21:28.140 And yet you can say Biden should have Trump murdered and you're good. It's just, 0.99

02:21:33.740 we've, it's a powder keg and it's boiling.

02:21:37.500 So I, I, my field of study, which I never ever imagined in my wildest dreams would be relevant

02:21:47.000 to the United States was communism. Uh, at the Columbia school of international affairs,

02:21:51.760 the Russian Institute, I learned Russian. I went to the Soviet union a number of times. I went to

02:21:56.580 Eastern European communist countries repeatedly. And I know that world really well. I, as I said,

02:22:03.500 I never thought any of this would be applicable to my beloved America, but, uh, it was started

02:22:09.380 by Stalin. Stalin called Trotsky. Trotsky, along with Lenin was the architect of the Bolshevik

02:22:15.740 Russian revolution. And Trotsky eventually vied with Stalin for power after Lenin died in 1924

02:22:23.240 and then fled to Mexico. Stalin sent an assassin to kill Trotsky and he was killed. He called Trotsky a

02:22:31.380 fascist. The, the, the, uh, the left, not liberals, the left has always done this. If you oppose the

02:22:40.260 left, you, you are not opposition. You are not conservative. You are not even just right wing.

02:22:46.500 You are a fascist and later a Nazi. This is, this is universal. This is what the left does. I hate 0.98

02:22:55.640 saying this. And I, and again, I always draw a distinction between left and liberals. Liberals vote

02:23:00.060 for the left. That is their shame, but they are not leftists. In fact, they're conservative. They're

02:23:05.240 much closer to our values than to left wing values, but the left does this and has always done this.

02:23:12.900 If you oppose them, you're a Nazi.

02:23:16.740 There you're absolutely right. I mean, I have, you know, I've told my audience, my, some of the people

02:23:22.140 I love most on earth are Democrats. They're normal Democrats. They would never cheer an event like

02:23:29.980 this. They would never want an event like this. They don't like the rhetoric about president Trump.

02:23:34.940 They don't like president Trump, but they don't like this demonization and the Hitler-esque figure

02:23:40.000 and all that nonsense. But there is a group within the party that is rabid, absolutely rabid.

02:23:47.840 So again, we'll find out who was behind the shooting. We do not yet know whether.

02:23:53.960 The beautiful Democrats in your family and in my family, not my immediate, praise the Lord.

02:24:01.280 My wife and kids share my values, which is a great source of joy in my life. But I have wonderful

02:24:09.160 family members in my extended family and they're not leftists. None of them are. They don't believe

02:24:15.860 that men menstruate. They think the idea is preposterous, but, but they vote for the people

02:24:21.860 who do say that. And, and that's a shame. Yeah, I know. Here's an extraordinary thing that just crossed

02:24:32.360 my, my phone. Okay. I read the statement that president Trump put out tonight talking about how

02:24:41.320 he wanted to thank the secret service law enforcement for their response. Um, he wanted

02:24:47.320 to extend his condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed and the other

02:24:52.780 one who is, who's been hurt. I'm trying to read my, my phone. It's blurry because this screen

02:24:58.860 grabs blurry. Um, it's incredible. Such an act can happen in this country. Nothing is known

02:25:04.740 at this time about the shooter. Um, I was shot with a bullet that pierced part of my ear and so on.

02:25:11.620 And then says, um, much bleeding took place. So I realized that, uh, when it was happening. And then

02:25:18.580 he says, God bless America. Here was the reaction from Margaret Brennan at CBS news.

02:25:26.460 He closes with God bless America. And we saw him raise his hand in the air defiantly blood on his

02:25:32.880 face. As he left the stage, he is recovering from these injuries. Now this was a traumatic event,

02:25:38.620 no doubt for him, but I did notice there was no call for lowering the temperature, condemning all

02:25:45.140 political violence and really trying to signal to his supporters as well, uh, not to retaliate or to

02:25:53.420 have any kind of escalation here. I, I just, I'm looking at these. Well, there's a belief in his

02:25:57.740 inner circle that he's under siege. I understand. Attacked at his rally. And so there's a lot of

02:26:03.000 every text message I'm getting exactly digested. I mean, every single text message, literally every

02:26:09.060 single one from Trump sources is outraged and, uh, shocked. And so that is certainly the mood

02:26:15.720 inside the highest ranks of the Republican party speaking to CBS news tonight. And he closes

02:26:19.620 with God bless America. And we saw him raise his hand. Oh my God. Is she fucking kidding me?

02:26:27.740 I'm sorry, Dennis, but is she fucking kidding? Trump almost got his head blown off tonight and he needs 0.99

02:26:34.160 to go out there and say, let's lower the temperature. The man is recovering from an attempt

02:26:39.040 assassination. One person is dead. Another one may be struggling for there is struggling for their

02:26:44.700 life behind him. The shooter's also dead. And Trump needs to be saying now's a good time. He's thinking

02:26:51.100 about thanking the people who saved his life and telling people his status and saying, God bless

02:26:58.400 America. Maybe he'll get around to keep the temperature low when the blood has stopped.

02:27:04.360 Well, the whole thing is projection. The temperature is what it is. When I spoke at Arizona State

02:27:19.560 University, uh, a little over a year ago, 34 professors, uh, signed a petition that nobody

02:27:26.120 should go to my speech. I spoke there with a Charlie Kirk spoke there and, uh, it was, how can you go to

02:27:32.580 these haters? Uh, you should not, you should not hear these bigots and these haters. Uh, and Charlie

02:27:40.100 Kirk, you know what Charlie Kirk, he spoke before I did. His whole, his half hour speech at Arizona

02:27:46.380 State was about why as a Christian, he has come to observe the Sabbath. That was his whole speech.

02:27:52.660 That was the hate filled speech that he gave, but it doesn't matter. Again, people have to

02:27:59.600 understand if you oppose the left, all tactics may be used, all words, all rhetoric may be used to

02:28:07.100 crush you. That that's the, the left doesn't debate. I invited all 34 professors onto my national

02:28:15.020 radio show. I will give them millions of listeners. And I said, how about even giving me 15 minutes in

02:28:22.560 one of your classrooms? And of course, crickets, they don't debate, they destroy.

02:28:29.000 Hmm. This, that, that is just next level. I mean, she actually thinks a man within moments

02:28:37.320 of having an assassination attempt unleashed on him needs to be calling for us to lower

02:28:43.400 the temperature. Give him a minute to get his head put back together, Margaret. I'm sure he'll get

02:28:51.620 around with it to it. But you know what? The truth is these Democrats, these leftists here,

02:28:56.020 they're probably two weeks away from blaming whatever happens next on Donald Trump. They're

02:29:02.920 going to pull up that statement and say it was incitement and blame him for it. The same way as

02:29:07.780 please go peacefully and March on the Capitol got turned into falsely incitement under the law.

02:29:13.900 Donald Trump is a human being. He's allowed to have a minute before he thinks about what to tell his

02:29:20.620 supporters about how to behave. And you know what else? They're entitled to their anger right now.

02:29:27.720 I hope they don't. I pray they don't do any return violence. I urge them not to,

02:29:33.600 but they're absolutely entitled to feel enraged tonight. Dennis, I feel it too.

02:29:40.460 Well, you're talking to a kindred spirit. I've been enraged for all of my lifetime about what the

02:29:52.200 left has done to Western civilization or what the left did to any country it took over.

02:29:56.960 I have a video up at PragerU, and I only do one out of 10 videos. 90% are other people doing these

02:30:04.320 videos, these five-minute videos. And it is, why don't people hate communism as much as Nazism?

02:30:09.300 It's, the left has gotten a moral pass for all of its history. And this is just another example.

02:30:20.660 You can say the man is Hitler and get away with it. You can say that he inspired an insurrection. 0.86

02:30:30.700 Do you know that I condemned it? It happened, I'll never forget, in the last 20 minutes of my radio show.

02:30:36.780 And I said, this is awful. I condemned the entering of the Capitol. The next day, though,

02:30:43.420 I also added to that, and I said, I know what's going to happen. The left will use this the way

02:30:50.080 in which the Germans used the Reichstag fire as an excuse to suppress liberty in the United States.

02:31:01.220 They used it then in Germany, and they will use it now here. And that's exactly what has happened. It

02:31:07.580 has been used by the DOJ to suppress liberty in America. Who suppresses dissent in the United States

02:31:14.840 or almost anywhere, conservatives or leftists? Of course, we have a right. No, we don't have a right

02:31:25.000 to be angry. We have a moral duty. Yes. They ruined his first term by calling him illegitimate

02:31:36.480 from day one, including Hillary Clinton. They spent four years accusing him falsely of colluding

02:31:44.000 with the Russians and being some sort of Manchurian candidate. They impeached him over a BS phone call,

02:31:51.900 accusing him of doing something we would later learn the current president, Joe Biden, was effectively

02:31:57.940 doing when it comes to Ukraine, according to the allegations, trading favors for corrupt purposes.

02:32:05.500 They impeached him a second time as he was on his way out of office. They changed the law in New York

02:32:14.160 State to get him so that E. Jean Carroll could resurrect a 30-year-old claim she didn't even 0.98

02:32:22.440 know she had. She couldn't remember the year in which he allegedly sexually assaulted her in a

02:32:27.500 Bergdorf Goodman dressing room. And sure enough, she brought the case funded by Democrat activists 0.89

02:32:34.060 and won ultimately $80 million because Trump not only denied it, but continued to say,

02:32:40.700 I don't even know who that is. A left-wing judge slapped him with a liability verdict after the jury

02:32:46.080 so found and a defamation claim that made people's eyes open as the woman celebrated it on MSNBC saying

02:32:54.600 she was going to buy Rachel Maddow Paris, France. They brought a nearly $500 million case against his

02:33:01.860 business over some BS fraud claim that not a single bank who was allegedly defrauded complained about

02:33:08.720 and shut down essentially the Trump operation in the state of New York. They filed a criminal

02:33:15.640 indictment against a sitting former president of the United States for the first time in our nearly

02:33:19.540 250-year history for a bookkeeping error at best that he put into an accounting book that no one saw

02:33:28.600 about his hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. They indicted him again down in Florida for taking

02:33:37.120 presidential records that Joe Biden also took, though he'd never been president, so he was not

02:33:41.880 able to declassify anything. Same offense. He didn't get charged. Trump facing charges down there.

02:33:47.740 They indicted him over January 6th. The same thing that he got impeached over, but they wouldn't

02:33:52.980 actually convict him, a thing the Democrats could not let go of. That claim has now been all but

02:33:58.380 gutted by the U.S. Supreme Court saying you were out of line. And then they indicted him in Georgia

02:34:05.160 by a corrupt prosecutor down there who couldn't keep her legs together long enough to bring the case 1.00

02:34:11.100 without creating a massive conflict of interest for herself. And she's now about to be bumped off that

02:34:16.780 case on appeal. What happens next? He's on his way to getting the nomination. Joe Biden is infirm,

02:34:25.200 as we all saw at that debate. The panic button has officially been hit on the Democratic side,

02:34:31.420 and Trump has never been more of a threat. And now tonight, after calling him Hitler on newspaper

02:34:38.560 magazines and informally respected newspapers, they sit and they say, really, he should tone down the

02:34:46.260 rhetoric. Really? He should be calling for his side to behave better. You've got to be kidding me.

02:34:54.420 You've got to be kidding me. They're not kidding you. This is the way they operate. As I have said

02:35:01.960 all of my life, truth is not a left-wing value. Back to the Soviet Union. First thing Lenin did was to

02:35:08.140 found a newspaper, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. I learned Russian in order to be able to read

02:35:13.520 that newspaper. It was called Pravda. Pravda is the Russian word for truth. And from then to this day,

02:35:21.760 truth is what the left says it is. There is no objective truth. The most famous philosopher in

02:35:28.260 Italy died six months ago. And his entire raison d'etre, his entire philosophy of life,

02:35:36.100 was that we live in a post-truth era. And he called himself, he said, I am gay, I am Catholic,

02:35:44.080 and I am a communist. And that was his whole outlook. We are in a post-truth era. And for the

02:35:54.800 left, it has always been a post-truth era. That is why they could say for two years that there was

02:36:02.400 collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. The purpose on the left is

02:36:09.460 to crush your opponents. Truth is an irrelevance. Indeed, no, I'm better. Truth is an obstacle.

02:36:20.160 Right, right. That's what this post-modern approach to everything is. There's really no truth.

02:36:27.160 Everything needs to be redesigned. We'll figure it out. Who cares? 1619 is really what the country's

02:36:32.380 all about, maintaining slavery. We're just going to say, you know, two plus two doesn't equal four,

02:36:37.280 right? We've just abandoned truth because truth is racist. Truth is sexist. Truth is anti-trans

02:36:44.000 rights. And the rational middle has said, just no, no, all of that is a failure and false. And really,

02:36:52.620 the country is finding its voice on those things. The left is losing. I'll add this,

02:36:59.020 Nicole Shanahan, who is RFKJ's running mate out with a, with a very strong statement tonight.

02:37:05.300 And he had a good statement earlier. It's just been lost in the texts that have been coming into

02:37:09.240 me, but listen to what she says. When we treat our political rivals like they are the enemy of the

02:37:13.940 state, we radicalize our country. I'm very glad Trump is safe. The demonization of his image by the

02:37:19.840 DNC and legacy media, keep in mind, this is a Democrat, is responsible for the hysteria that is

02:37:26.280 ripping this country apart. Now, having been on the receiving end of the DNC's campaign of lies,

02:37:31.680 I know most of what they've said about Trump's danger, in quotes, is an absolute falsehood.

02:37:36.880 My heart breaks for the family of the individual whose life was lost at the rally in such a violent

02:37:40.860 way. Let this be a lesson to all political leaders. When you dehumanize your opponent and

02:37:46.640 radicalize your base, you are responsible for the violence that inevitably ensues.

02:37:53.160 Wow. That's a great statement. That's truly, that's, that's very impressive. And I'm not

02:37:58.340 surprised. Robert Kennedy Jr., whom I've come to know, and like other Americans have, I didn't

02:38:04.740 really know about him until the last couple of years. And I've had him on my fireside chat. I've

02:38:10.900 had him on my show. And I will say, this man, whatever you think of any given view, this man,

02:38:19.600 I believe, and I, I put my own reputation on the line saying this, he is committed to telling the

02:38:25.160 truth. That, that truth, you know, the, the New Testament says that, um, uh, love of money is the

02:38:33.940 root of, of, of evil. And it is certainly a root, but I believe the greatest single root is, uh, is lies.

02:38:42.380 That is the, that is the one thing that you can predict perfectly. When truth is no longer an

02:38:51.000 issue and, uh, uh, enabling men to compete against women and women's sports is a denial of truth.

02:38:57.680 They are not women end of issue. They may say they are, and they may deserve our respect and our 1.00

02:39:03.320 sympathy and our compassion, but they're not women. And they certainly cannot compete with women and 1.00

02:39:07.940 women's sports. When you have gotten to that point where children's hospitals will say, oh yes, 1.00

02:39:15.060 you're 15 and you say you're a boy, then perhaps we will remove your breasts. And that is the root, 0.99

02:39:24.240 that is the root of the crisis that we are in. And they, but they get away with it. The New York

02:39:30.100 Times gets away with it. They should be called on this Charlottesville issue. It's a, it's a big deal

02:39:37.380 to continue this lie. And by the way, when they speak about rhetoric, people should read Joe Biden's

02:39:43.280 inaugural address. It was the most hate filled inaugural address in American history. They

02:39:48.300 should compare that to Trump's inaugural address. Give it to people and, and, and try if, if you could

02:39:54.420 find a neutral person in America, say, which one seems to have more hate in it? The, the discussing

02:40:01.460 white supremacy in, uh, in his inaugural address, that was, it was a despicable address. He's an awful 0.99

02:40:10.140 man, in my opinion. It has nothing to do with dementia. He, his, his character is defective. 0.97

02:40:16.300 And, and that is where the horrible rhetoric comes from. And by the way, if it weren't Biden,

02:40:21.120 then it would be Kamala Harris. It doesn't matter who it is for no one on the left liberals. Yes. But 0.76

02:40:27.560 for no one on the left is truth of value. And it has never been, as I pointed out since Lenin and

02:40:33.520 Stalin. And, uh, people don't want to recognize this. I understand that I have said all of my life, 0.59

02:40:39.520 the analogy of evil to dark is not correct. Evil is not dark. It's easy to look into the dark.

02:40:47.980 Evil is so bright. People don't want to stare at it. You know, when I knew I wasn't a leftist,

02:40:54.820 I thought I was a liberal for much of my life. And in many ways, I still have, ironically,

02:40:59.000 that's why I'm called a conservative because I have liberal values. But, uh, in any event,

02:41:03.520 I knew it in high school when I realized, wow, the left doesn't hate communism.

02:41:09.420 Wow. If you don't hate evil, and that's my favorite verse in the Bible, I'm writing a Bible

02:41:14.460 commentary. The fifth volume is coming out next year called the rational Bible. And I, I, I know

02:41:20.460 biblical Hebrew, like I know English. My favorite verse in the Bible is those of you who love God

02:41:27.560 must hate evil. It is Hebrew has a command form in its verbs. It is a command. If you don't hate evil,

02:41:35.020 you don't love God.

02:41:41.160 The, um, president of the United States just in the past couple of weeks, as you point out,

02:41:46.360 has called Trump an enabler of white supremacy. That's the lie about the Charlottesville thing,

02:41:53.020 which has been debunked over and over. He was allowed to say it from the debate stage

02:41:55.840 in front of 50 million people doubled down on it days later. He's called him a rapist. 0.95

02:42:01.240 That happened days ago as he's fine tuning his rhetoric, trying to amp up the nastiness about 0.59

02:42:08.480 Trump because he's in a downward spiral. Thanks to his mental state. He said, we have to go out 0.97

02:42:17.440 and it's time to put Trump in the bullseye and has been, of course, calling him a dictator over and

02:42:23.920 over and over saying, that's what we will get. And we will get the end of democracy. So I don't really

02:42:29.640 care that the latest news is he's just spoken with Donald Trump. This just crossing the wires that

02:42:39.100 president Biden and former president Trump have spoken according to the white house. Fine. That

02:42:45.980 is literally the bare minimum that this president should be doing for Donald Trump. Right. I don't,

02:42:52.780 I don't, I don't really care, but for what it's worth, that's just crossed the wires. And

02:42:57.760 at least he did the right thing. He has to say, we will, we, my side and I will no longer call him

02:43:04.720 a fascist or a Nazi. That's all. That's what I wanted to say. A phone call to Donald Trump is sweet

02:43:10.240 and irrelevant. That's all he needs to say. We're stopping calling him a Nazi. We may think that he's

02:43:17.040 not good for the country. We may think a whole host of things about him, but that is the root

02:43:22.860 of the problem. Miranda Devine of the New York post tweeted out the following, all of the violent

02:43:29.020 rhetoric comes from the anti-Trump side. Don't tell us to lower the temperature. You control the

02:43:34.500 temperature dial and you turned it up to the max. So well said. Dennis, thank you. Thank you so much.

02:43:41.540 It's great to see you. And you're terrific. Thank you. She's the best. Yeah. All right. We'll see you

02:43:45.540 soon. You know, all of this has me thinking about president Trump, 78 years old, independently wealthy,

02:43:58.360 though they're trying to stop that too, as I pointed out. And he's been through the ringer. My God,

02:44:03.840 before tonight, he's been through the ringer for this country over the past eight, nine years. You know,

02:44:08.280 he was the host of the number one television program in America. The Apprentice was crushing

02:44:12.180 it. And he was the reason. As soon as they tried to use another host, it went down the tubes.

02:44:17.920 He could have just stayed doing that. He was beloved. He wasn't as controversial.

02:44:22.440 He didn't have to get into politics, but he did. And he stayed in politics. He's been president. Why

02:44:29.200 would he run again? Just right. Like who would do such a thing? Just go back to your private life and

02:44:35.700 your beautiful wife and your children, your grandchildren, your golf courses.

02:44:41.760 Why put yourself through this? Why continue engaging with these people who hate you and want to destroy

02:44:53.660 you? And you know it. That was the final question of my interview with Trump in September.

02:45:01.920 And here's what he said. You could be going into your 78th year, enjoying this beautiful golf course,

02:45:11.440 Mar-a-Lago, your lovely family. You don't have to be running for president, sitting for four criminal

02:45:18.700 trials, some civil and possibly looking at jail time. Is it worth it? Yeah. Make America great again.

02:45:27.700 Our country's going to hell. Our country's going down. You don't realize it. I don't believe you

02:45:32.340 realize it. But our country's going down. Our country. And I used to say we're going to end

02:45:37.300 up being, if we don't do certain things, we're going to end up being Venezuela on steroids. How

02:45:41.120 about, how about we're buying oil now from Venezuela? How about that? We're making Venezuela rich.

02:45:47.420 Okay. Think of it. The people running Venezuela, which were total enemies, what we're doing is so

02:45:53.640 crazy. We're not using our oil. We're making Venezuela rich. But the country, I believe,

02:46:01.320 has one last chance. And that's this. This is the most important election we've ever had.

02:46:07.780 Hmm. I believe Donald Trump genuinely loves his country, not just himself, as his detractors say.

02:46:17.140 I believe that's why he is running again, despite all of it, all the things that have happened to him.

02:46:24.160 He doesn't deserve what the left has done to him. And he certainly didn't deserve what happened to

02:46:28.600 him today. And the people who love him, who saw the magic in his message, in his persona,

02:46:36.980 and responded to the way he made them feel, which was seen and heard for the first time in decades.

02:46:45.580 Someone who, though he had become of the elites, rejected elitism and said to the men and women of

02:46:51.600 Appalachia, I get it. I see you. I see what happened to your manufacturing jobs. And I'll

02:46:57.700 fight for you. I'll stand up to China. I'm not going to lean into the free trade thing. I'm going 0.93

02:47:02.800 to talk about possible tariffs. I'm going to do some radical things that President Biden would wind up

02:47:08.540 continuing, though he criticized Trump mightily for them at the time. And they knew in their gut that

02:47:15.640 this guy was different. That's why they surprised everybody. They shocked the world in November of

02:47:21.280 2016 and put him in office and remain that loyal to him ever since. Is he a perfect man? No. Was he

02:47:26.680 a perfect president? No. Is he guilty of rhetoric that can be controversial? Of course. We know these

02:47:32.580 things about President Trump. But he's a special man. There's not a lot of guys like this, not a lot of

02:47:39.960 human beings like this, with that kind of strength and resilience and ability literally under fire

02:47:48.480 to stand up and say, fight. It was inspirational. I believe President Trump is going to win in

02:48:00.900 November. I've previously disclosed he will have my vote. And I am now one of the people who will walk

02:48:08.400 over broken glass to make sure I cast my vote. And I know I won't be alone. I think now you are going

02:48:15.680 to see formerly blue states rush to pull the lever for Donald Trump. I thought it was bad before

02:48:22.900 tonight. And I just I think my fellow Americans will understand how important it is to send a message

02:48:31.180 loud and clear to the people who want to change our country that we won't allow it,

02:48:36.920 that we are not going to lose sight of one another. We're not going to continue trying to ruin each

02:48:43.880 other. End each other. That's not how we want to live, that we will find our way back to one another.

02:48:55.140 Tens of thousands of people showed up tonight in Butler, Pennsylvania, to show their support for a

02:49:01.500 presidential candidate and some maybe just to listen to him. The kids don't know. They just wanted to see

02:49:06.680 the former president. That's a uniquely American thing, the way we do things in this country. And

02:49:12.420 he's such a character. Maybe they just wanted to go for the fun or because they wanted to hear what

02:49:18.080 he had to say the way I do with my kids. Or I say, listen to this speech. What do you think?

02:49:21.420 Let's get a glimpse of him. What did you hear? What's your reaction? They showed up and they ran for

02:49:28.840 their lives instead in Butler, Pennsylvania. And after Mr. Trump was removed in the beast

02:49:37.420 and two of his most ardent fans were shot dead or within an inch of their life,

02:49:45.900 the American flag. The remnants at the site, bottles and so on scattered the ground. And yet much

02:50:00.300 like 9-11, after it was all over, the American flag still waved over a now empty area. That's what

02:50:11.680 it's all about. Our flag was still there. We're still there. We're still with each other. I just

02:50:19.400 said this on July 4th. We are so lucky to have been born in this country. We hit the lottery.

02:50:25.720 Our patriotism must be reignited for America. And yes, our understanding that there's humanity on both

02:50:36.000 sides. The hard partisan loons who have been behind the rhetoric we've discussed tonight do not represent

02:50:43.900 either side. And there is room for a reconnection. But I'll tell you what, President Trump needs to win

02:50:53.440 this election. Period. President Trump needs to win this election. It's not about him anymore.

02:51:01.360 It's about us. And so I hope you'll vote. And I hope you'll vote Republican. And I hope you'll say

02:51:09.080 a prayer for President Trump and his family and indeed for President Biden and our elected leaders.

02:51:16.020 Thank you for being with us tonight. God bless you and God bless America.

02:51:23.400 Thanks for listening to The Megyn Kelly Show. No BS, no agenda, and no fear.

02:51:31.360 Thank you.
