00:00:00.480 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show, your home for open, honest, and provocative conversations.
00:00:12.240 Hey everyone, I'm Megyn Kelly. Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show. Today, we've got a great show for you. There's so much to go over.
00:00:19.460 NBA superstar Kyrie Irving refuses yet again to cave on his stance against vaccine mandates.
00:00:27.000 Also, a new poll is showing former President Donald Trump trampling, I mean, just crushing any possible 2024 GOP competitor.
00:00:36.260 And Katie Couric admits to censoring Ruth Bader Ginsburg's criticism of the protests by the NFL players against our national anthem back in 2016, in particular, Colin Kaepernick.
00:00:49.100 Plus, the new Superman is bisexual, and Demi Lovato thinks it's derogatory to call aliens from outer space aliens.
00:00:58.300 What the hell is going on?
00:01:00.380 Here with me to tackle all the headlines, Dave Rubin, host of YouTube's The Rubin Report.
00:01:06.220 Always a pleasure to have you here. Dave, how's it going?
00:01:08.660 Megan, it's going well. You know, in this little business of talk that we do,
00:01:12.820 sometimes you wake up in the morning and you're like, ah, what do I have to talk about today?
00:01:17.040 Or can I find the right thing to talk about? Or I want it to be a little bit different today.
00:01:20.620 But this list that your guys sent me this morning, like, this is just like exactly why I think people like you and I do what we do.
00:01:28.540 Because there's a lot of serious stuff, obviously, but there's also so much ridiculous stuff going on.
00:01:34.140 And there's so few people that are talking about anything in a remotely sane way.
00:01:38.420 And that will be my goal here today with Megyn Kelly.
00:01:42.140 I like that goal. I accept the challenge on my end as well.
00:01:44.900 So let's kick it off with Kyrie Irving. Now, I know nothing about basketball.
00:01:48.840 I mean, I really I know next to nothing.
00:01:50.880 But I understand that up until I guess yesterday, he just wasn't saying whether he was vaccinated,
00:01:56.160 but he was kind of playing coy. It's pretty clear he hadn't been.
00:02:00.240 And so the team was like, well, since you're not going to openly say that you've been vaccinated
00:02:04.640 and you have to be vaccinated to play in our stadium, he's a Brooklyn net.
00:02:11.020 You can only play on the away games.
00:02:14.560 And then I guess they came out last night and said, actually, that's not really conducive to team unity.
00:02:21.300 You can't play at all. You're benched.
00:02:23.300 And he's doing pretty well on the on the money front.
00:02:26.020 The numbers I looked at were stunning.
00:02:28.120 He has a four year one hundred thirty six million dollar deal.
00:02:30.440 It's about thirty four million, thirty four point nine million this season alone he's going to earn.
00:02:36.600 And so last night he went to Instagram and he posted a little bit that basically acknowledged he's not vaccinated and he doesn't intend to get vaccinated.
00:02:45.840 And here he is.
00:02:47.460 You know, I had to stop running away from using my voice and using my platform to, you know, speak on what's true and what's mine.
00:02:54.320 You know, nobody's going to hijack my voice.
00:02:55.780 Nobody's going to take the power away from me that I have for speaking on these things, like all these people saying all these things about what's going on with me.
00:03:03.980 And it's just not true. Pay attention to what's going on out in the real world.
00:03:07.720 You know, people are losing their jobs to these mandates.
00:03:10.580 People are having to make choices with their own lives, which I respect, you know, and I don't want to sit here and play on people's emotions either.
00:03:19.860 Just use logic.
00:03:20.640 Like, you know, what would you do, you know, if you felt uncomfortable going into the season when you were promised that you would have exemptions or that you didn't have to be forced to get the vaccine?
00:03:32.200 You know, this wasn't an issue before the season started.
00:03:35.860 This wasn't something that I foresaw coming where I prepared for it.
00:03:40.620 And, you know, I had a chance to strategize on what was going to be best for me and my family.
00:03:46.280 I came into the season thinking that I was just going to be able to play ball.
00:03:50.440 Like, why are you putting it on me?
00:03:52.020 You know, like this is not part of, you know, what's going on in conversations with scientists, physicians and doctors.
00:03:59.100 I'm just a hooper, right?
00:04:00.420 Like, I'm just a person who's being utilized as an example.
00:04:05.620 For some odd reason, you know, people love to have my name in a mix of just some BS.
00:04:10.660 OK, so it was a little hard to comprehend because it was kind of all over the board in the long piece.
00:04:17.320 But essentially what he's saying is I was told before the season started that I wasn't going to have to get a vaccine in order to play.
00:04:24.880 I stand ready to play.
00:04:26.640 This is a personal decision.
00:04:27.980 And I object to being told I have to get this vaccine.
00:04:31.540 And he's now going to have to sit out.
00:04:34.760 And what happens to the thirty four point nine million dollars?
00:04:37.780 I do not know your thoughts on it, Dave.
00:04:39.680 Yeah, well, first off, I mean, broadly speaking, I'm I'm completely with Kyrie Irving and we have so few people who don't stop running.
00:04:49.560 He said, I have to stop running, meaning I have to stop running away from the truth.
00:04:53.400 That's in essence what he was saying there, meaning that he has decided as a twenty nine year old guy at the peak of physical fitness.
00:05:00.220 Trust me, he's the he's the fittest guy that either one of us know, Megan.
00:05:04.380 Like he's made a decision that he personally doesn't want the vaccine.
00:05:08.520 Maybe he had covid.
00:05:09.920 Maybe he has antibodies.
00:05:11.100 Maybe he doesn't want to take the risk.
00:05:12.680 Maybe he's looked around and seen that the NBA has basically been playing for the last two years.
00:05:17.640 And is there any evidence that covid was spread during an NBA game when they sweat all over each other and spit all over each other and sometimes cut each other and bleed and all sorts of stuff?
00:05:27.660 As far as I know, there's no evidence.
00:05:29.640 So I even though I have some personal differences with Kyrie Irving on the political side, for example, he was a big BLM guy.
00:05:36.780 That's obviously not where I'm at.
00:05:38.900 But I respect someone making a choice for themselves and also the way he spoke there.
00:05:43.600 I mean, he's thought about this stuff.
00:05:45.400 You know, we're always throwing mics in athletes faces and asking them to comment on China and asking them to comment on all of these things that they should not know about.
00:05:53.340 As he said, he said, I'm a hooper.
00:05:55.160 I'm a baller.
00:05:55.740 I play ball.
00:05:56.260 That's what I'm supposed to do for a living.
00:05:58.160 And I respect somebody that's like, you know what?
00:06:01.180 I'm going to put my butt on the line.
00:06:02.520 And by the way, you know this.
00:06:03.640 There are so many people.
00:06:04.840 I'm sure your inbox is blowing up like mine is.
00:06:06.860 I'm getting emails from nurses and doctors and airline pilots and janitors and IT guys about losing their jobs right now because they're making a personal decision for themselves.
00:06:16.660 They're regular folks who, you know, maybe have two weeks salary or a month salary or a little bit of savings to, you know, so they're worried about everything in terms of their day to day life and putting food on the table.
00:06:26.420 It's like he's got a lot of money and the guy needs some support right now.
00:06:29.860 So I'm completely supporting him completely.
00:06:33.380 But he's getting killed by the media.
00:06:35.520 I mean, oh, yeah, well, he'll be a white supremacist overnight.
00:06:38.460 I mean, that's what they're going to do.
00:06:39.380 You know that he's going to be a he's going to be a crazy right wing white supremacist.
00:06:44.760 And this is going to have something to do with Alex Jones.
00:06:47.340 And, you know, he's going to be at MAGA rallies.
00:06:49.400 You know, the drill on this.
00:06:50.680 Like, that's how it works.
00:06:52.200 It's so true.
00:06:53.140 And it's like people forget that it wasn't that long ago that Joe Biden was saying the vaccine mandates wouldn't be appropriate.
00:07:00.320 And that's not right here in America.
00:07:01.900 And people aren't going to follow those.
00:07:04.040 And he's the one who switched and did a 180.
00:07:06.780 And now when other people, millions of people are still in that place saying, I don't agree with these mandates.
00:07:12.080 I think it should be a personal choice.
00:07:13.960 It's terrible, horrible, stupid.
00:07:17.940 Right.
00:07:18.860 Megan, it's not just Joe Biden.
00:07:21.120 Fauci.
00:07:21.520 There's video of Fauci saying it about a year ago that we're not going to have mandates and it won't make sense.
00:07:27.860 Like every single person in the administration or that's, you know, roughly associated with covid policy has said every single thing every which way.
00:07:36.760 Fauci, you know, masks don't work.
00:07:39.160 Then you have to double mask like everyone knows all of that stuff.
00:07:42.740 But what I really like about this story is I am a big basketball guy, as you know, and there's a basketball over my shoulder here.
00:07:48.900 It's from a 92 Trailblazers practice signed by my favorite player, Clyde Drexler.
00:07:53.680 And I was watching an interview because I don't watch basketball anymore because it's become so politicized.
00:07:58.220 So when I do cardio, I watch old basketball games on YouTube from the 90s.
00:08:02.080 And my God, you need an intervention.
00:08:04.060 Even though I know I know all the results.
00:08:05.980 Right.
00:08:06.160 But that's what I like doing.
00:08:08.040 So I'm watching a game from 92 finals and they're interviewing Clyde Drexler and they ask him about Michael Jordan.
00:08:15.220 And then they say, you know, there's a lot of racial problems.
00:08:17.720 It's a white reporter, of course.
00:08:18.840 I just watched this a few days ago.
00:08:20.340 It's a white reporter.
00:08:21.020 And he's asking Clyde, he's saying, you know, Michael Jordan's not commenting on all the racial tension in the world and everything else.
00:08:25.780 It was right after the Rodney King riots in 92 and and Clyde goes, you know, Michael's a basketball player.
00:08:33.580 Do you know how much effort he has to put in physically and mentally to get out there and be the best at what he does every single night?
00:08:40.180 If he doesn't want to comment on this or that, that is no indication of anything other than he loves what he does.
00:08:46.660 And that's what Kyrie Irving is saying there.
00:08:48.740 Yeah, it's I think we had the comedian Ryan Long on the show not long ago.
00:08:51.880 And he was saying, if everybody could just go back to doing the job that they actually have, that might be the solution to all of our problems.
00:09:00.680 Why?
00:09:01.480 Oh, my God.
00:09:02.260 OK, so I wasn't going to do this story this high up in the show, but that does lead me.
00:09:05.760 I got to the natural segue to Demi Lovato, who.
00:09:09.400 OK, so she made some bizarre comments.
00:09:11.580 She's losing it.
00:09:13.120 They she goes by.
00:09:14.260 They they are losing it.
00:09:16.440 OK.
00:09:16.840 OK, first of all, the headline was I don't know if I can do the day.
00:09:23.560 I have to tell you, I don't I don't think I can do it.
00:09:26.600 That one's taken.
00:09:27.400 It's too confusing.
00:09:29.120 Megan, you know, if you don't use people's preferred pronouns, this could be the end of the YouTube operation.
00:09:34.300 You know, they could take us both out right now.
00:09:36.940 I'm a guest on this show.
00:09:38.980 I'm going to do it over there.
00:09:40.780 Here's I'm going to Demi Lovato says Demi Lovato, Demi Lovato is making a film about aliens.
00:09:47.880 I'm like, I'm reading my packet, Dave.
00:09:49.620 I'm like, wait, what?
00:09:52.040 Why are we just skipping by that?
00:09:53.700 Like it's something normal.
00:09:54.920 Hold on.
00:09:55.540 I'll find it.
00:09:56.460 I don't understand why Demi Lovato isn't just singing the way Ryan Long would say she they should do in order to help our world heal.
00:10:06.680 But Demi Lovato says, oh, I finally found it.
00:10:09.480 It's page 11 that in in this film, which is about a search for the truth about UFO phenomena, because I was just asking myself the other day, what does Demi Lovato think about if only Demi Lovato could do a film about whether it's real?
00:10:26.580 And the quote is, do we have this soundbite?
00:10:29.520 No, we don't have the soundbite.
00:10:30.600 It's actually just I don't know.
00:10:32.880 There's some interview.
00:10:34.100 This is the quote.
00:10:34.760 So I think we I think we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything.
00:10:44.780 OK.
00:10:45.740 Aliens are awesome.
00:10:47.660 Dave.
00:10:48.560 Alien.
00:10:49.160 The movie Alien.
00:10:50.100 That thing's awesome.
00:10:51.200 Every sci fi movie I've ever seen.
00:10:53.040 Everyone loves the aliens.
00:10:54.240 I usually hate the humans and I love the aliens.
00:10:56.220 Honestly, Megan, I'm not even totally sure who Demi Lovato is.
00:11:00.580 I know she's a singer of some kind.
00:11:02.580 You know, I like Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli.
00:11:04.980 I like some old crooners.
00:11:06.080 Oh, my God.
00:11:06.240 So do I.
00:11:07.080 So do I.
00:11:07.700 I'm with you.
00:11:09.120 I bumped into Frankie Valli at the supermarket like two weeks ago and I literally froze up.
00:11:14.260 He was thumping a watermelon and I actually I was so starstruck I could not speak.
00:11:18.740 I babbled something to him.
00:11:19.940 I don't even know what I said.
00:11:20.780 Wait, did you ask about the remake of the song, Beggin?
00:11:23.120 It's so good and it's everywhere and it's amazing.
00:11:26.300 He's been promoting the hell out of that, actually.
00:11:28.380 He loves the new version of it.
00:11:30.800 Yeah, but that's that's who I like.
00:11:32.320 But, you know, whether Frankie Valli liked or felt that we should, you know, call aliens
00:11:36.820 a certain pronoun or whether they're good or bad or anything else would sort of be irrelevant
00:11:40.460 to Oh, What a Night or Sherry or anything else.
00:11:43.760 But this is what happens with everything.
00:11:45.260 On one hand, we kind of like it when an athlete makes some sense and stands up to the machine.
00:11:50.020 That's the Kyrie Irving story.
00:11:51.140 And then on the other hand, you hear these people who, you know, mostly can't really
00:11:55.680 tie their shoes.
00:11:56.560 They've got one talent and that's pretty good if you've got one talent.
00:11:59.660 But then they comment on these things and it's like, all right, you know, she wants aliens
00:12:04.440 to be she or her or them.
00:12:06.020 OK, I got two points for you.
00:12:07.740 I went to see Jersey Boys years ago, 10 years ago on Broadway with my mom and my husband.
00:12:14.500 And we're there.
00:12:15.920 My mom and my stepdad were in the front or then not the front row, but the row in front
00:12:20.120 of us and they were next to two people.
00:12:22.560 And Doug and I were behind them.
00:12:23.880 And Jersey Boys is truly like you're on your feet the whole time you're singing, you're
00:12:27.380 dancing.
00:12:27.760 It's fun.
00:12:29.600 And but my mom is a terrible singer and she always sings louder than anybody.
00:12:34.120 I mean, it's just who she is.
00:12:35.220 It's the same way when we go to church on Sundays or growing up.
00:12:37.980 None of us wanted to sit with her because she'd always be like, and also with you.
00:12:42.420 And we're like, oh, be quiet.
00:12:44.240 She loves attention and she has this deep voice.
00:12:47.600 Anyway, at intermission, the people who were next to her left because she was so
00:12:53.660 they actually walked out.
00:12:54.780 They couldn't take it anymore.
00:12:55.720 That's hilarious.
00:12:56.580 Singing was so bad.
00:12:58.180 So I love Frankie Valli and would go to Jersey Boys again and would recommend it to anybody.
00:13:03.960 So Demi Lovato.
00:13:05.380 OK, yeah, this is the other thing I wanted to say.
00:13:07.020 Apparently, Demi Lovato posted on Instagram in September, speaking of people we should
00:13:13.040 not listen to and stupid ass advice.
00:13:15.380 And I'm going to quote it with that with that preface.
00:13:18.080 This is from her from Demi, quote, I can't do it.
00:13:22.840 Can we just talk about the day for a minute?
00:13:24.460 I can't.
00:13:25.480 I'm trying.
00:13:26.320 Let's talk about it.
00:13:27.180 Let's talk about it.
00:13:28.020 I feel uncomfortable from YouTube, but let's talk about it.
00:13:30.360 I don't want to be disrespectful.
00:13:31.960 I genuinely don't.
00:13:33.360 And if Demi were in this room, I don't know what I do.
00:13:36.420 But Demi's not in this room and they is taken.
00:13:39.800 It's confusing.
00:13:41.220 They means two people.
00:13:43.500 I it's improper grammar.
00:13:46.480 It's not only improper grammar.
00:13:48.360 Look, I don't care about anyone's sexuality.
00:13:50.980 I don't care how they identify.
00:13:53.380 I just don't care about their body parts that much and what they do in their private life.
00:13:58.160 But I do care about English language.
00:14:00.120 I care about basic truth.
00:14:01.620 I care about knowledge.
00:14:03.120 And the fact that we are all being subjected to, oh, if Megyn Kelly doesn't say they, YouTube
00:14:10.560 actually might take down her channel.
00:14:13.040 I mean, I'm actually not making that up.
00:14:14.900 Like they've made some fairly, fairly robust statements on gender pronouns related to being
00:14:20.560 on these platforms.
00:14:21.420 And it's like that has nothing to do with not respecting Demi Lovato.
00:14:24.820 I don't respect her or not respect her.
00:14:26.480 I mean, if I was in a room with her, if she treated me nicely, I would treat her nicely.
00:14:30.980 But, you know, this reminds me, you may have seen this video.
00:14:33.640 I think we talked about a little bit once a long time ago.
00:14:35.840 I did an event at University of New Hampshire a couple of years ago.
00:14:39.780 And, you know, there's all these kids.
00:14:41.300 They're screaming at me and they're yelling that I'm a Nazi and I'm a racist and all this
00:14:44.540 stuff.
00:14:44.920 And I keep offering them, you know, guys, if you have a specific question, let me know.
00:14:48.740 And what is it that I've said?
00:14:50.240 And then they just keep yelling crazy stuff.
00:14:52.120 And there's this person in the back who says that she's trans and she's yelling at me and
00:14:56.380 I'm a Nazi and I want to put her in jail.
00:14:57.940 And I keep saying, you know, actually, I just want you to be treated with equally under the
00:15:01.900 law.
00:15:02.260 But, you know, I don't want the government mandating pronouns, meaning if I'll call you
00:15:07.540 she and her.
00:15:08.640 But, you know, I don't want the government forcing me to do that.
00:15:11.320 If you treat me with respect, I'll treat you with respect.
00:15:13.400 She's but I'm still a Nazi.
00:15:14.640 The whole thing.
00:15:15.360 I didn't find this out till about two weeks later.
00:15:17.300 But it turned out that that trans woman who is calling me a Nazi and shouting me down and
00:15:21.160 trying to take away my free speech was a gender studies professor at University of New Hampshire.
00:15:26.100 So that's the level of stupidity that we're dealing with these days.
00:15:29.700 That's 100 percent could have predicted this.
00:15:32.720 Well, here's Demi's thoughts and the advice Demi's given, giving to, I think, young women
00:15:38.240 in particular.
00:15:39.040 Be a slut.
00:15:40.320 How many times, Abby?
00:15:41.420 How many times have I said when people ask me for advice?
00:15:44.400 My number one thing is don't be a slut.
00:15:46.360 It's truly what I haven't told Abby not to be a slut.
00:15:48.700 She's not a slut.
00:15:49.580 She got married.
00:15:51.500 Abby can do what she wants.
00:15:54.020 Come on.
00:15:54.320 We don't have to make this about Abby.
00:15:56.040 But this is, I mean, truly, when people's daughters go off to college and they say,
00:15:59.100 would you talk to her for a minute?
00:16:00.220 I say, oh, sure.
00:16:00.840 And the first thing I say is don't be a slut.
00:16:02.840 Don't give it up so easily.
00:16:04.260 You know, when you're in a loving relationship, you go for it, girl.
00:16:06.520 But don't give it up so easily because it makes it leads you to feel bad about yourself
00:16:10.180 and you're not going to find the thing you're looking for.
00:16:11.780 And I don't think women are built that way.
00:16:13.300 And I don't care if people don't like it.
00:16:14.900 This is her Demi's last next piece of advice.
00:16:19.480 Show your body.
00:16:20.960 Get naked.
00:16:21.680 Well, I don't, you know, again, see rule number one.
00:16:26.000 I don't think that's going to have the effect on your life that you think.
00:16:29.100 Have all the safe, different, consensual sex you want.
00:16:31.900 Be kinky.
00:16:32.920 Masturbate.
00:16:33.600 Make and watch porn.
00:16:35.480 Really?
00:16:36.560 That does Demi know anything statement right there.
00:16:39.760 Does Demi know anything about the number of studies suggesting how that works out for
00:16:44.000 in particular young women, how it makes them feel and young men who become obsessed with
00:16:48.320 porn and think young women are going to behave like that and so on.
00:16:50.860 Make money.
00:16:51.640 OK, just a reminder that being sexual is OK.
00:16:54.340 Well, Demi sounds like a moron.
00:16:55.740 I don't know why I'm spending so much time on Demi Lovato, but this is a public figure
00:16:58.980 who's in the limelight, who's held up.
00:17:01.420 She's on magazine covers and so on.
00:17:03.420 And I'm sick of this bullshit.
00:17:04.520 This is a terrible role model.
00:17:06.560 Oh, I like feisty Megyn Kelly.
00:17:08.880 I like that.
00:17:09.720 You're right, because on one hand, it's like, why should we care what Demi Lovato says?
00:17:13.640 As I said, I'm not even totally sure if I heard one of her songs, I don't think I would
00:17:16.960 know that it was Demi Lovato.
00:17:18.560 But on the other hand, when these people can influence young people and say these things
00:17:24.000 to them and then have them, you know, act some of this stuff out, it's like this is
00:17:27.780 one of my frustrations constantly with the progressives is that they will promote virtually
00:17:33.160 anything.
00:17:33.700 And there's no crazy that's too crazy.
00:17:36.320 And yet we know that in their own personal lives, they would never want this.
00:17:40.220 You remember that video of Ibrahim Kendi?
00:17:42.860 This is a few months ago.
00:17:43.860 This should have destroyed the entire BLM movement when he said that his I believe it
00:17:49.080 was his son came home and said that he was a girl.
00:17:52.400 Yes.
00:17:52.900 And he said that you're talking about.
00:17:54.440 Yeah.
00:17:54.740 And yeah.
00:17:55.380 And he said that he and his wife were horrified.
00:17:58.740 Now, think about that.
00:17:59.900 We're told that intersectionality and, you know, all of these oppressions should meld
00:18:03.820 together into one super oppression and we should love everybody and black trans lives
00:18:08.080 matter and all this stuff.
00:18:09.000 But Ibrahim Kendi, the guy who is instituting right, Ibram X, Kendi, sorry, the one who is
00:18:15.820 basically the lead pusher of all of this nonsense and creating racism, I would say, when he thought
00:18:21.980 that his son might be a girl, suddenly it was horrific, his word horrific.
00:18:28.060 And yet nobody really covered that.
00:18:30.120 And that shows how they say one thing that that's what they want for you, because it'll
00:18:34.900 cause chaos and confusion in your life.
00:18:37.240 And when there's chaos and confusion, then they'll give you all the answers.
00:18:40.300 Right.
00:18:40.980 But they don't want that in their life.
00:18:42.820 It's so obvious.
00:18:43.760 It's ridiculous.
00:18:44.420 We're seeing this manifest in a more recent example, in a way, with Dave Chappelle, right?
00:18:49.500 Black man, very, very heterodox in his views, will take on anything and saying he stands
00:18:57.520 with J.K. Rowling in his latest Netflix special.
00:19:00.680 And what a shitstorm this has been for Netflix, who so far is doing the right thing.
00:19:05.960 But there's an update in the case.
00:19:07.600 That's what we'll pick it in.
00:19:08.380 We'll squeeze in a quick commercial break and then we'll pick it up there in two minutes.
00:19:12.880 Plus, we're going to get to Kamala Harris laughing with child actors about space.
00:19:16.280 I saw the video.
00:19:17.040 She looked ridiculous.
00:19:18.320 But then I didn't know that they were actors till a couple of days passed.
00:19:21.280 They had to hire actors.
00:19:22.360 They couldn't find real children, apparently, who wanted to be in the ad with the woman who's
00:19:26.540 really sort of acting like she's straight out of the actual program, Veep.
00:19:30.420 We've got so much to go over with Dave Rubin.
00:19:38.420 All right, Dave.
00:19:39.300 So Dave Chappelle is back in it again.
00:19:43.460 Netflix signed him to this unbelievable deal.
00:19:45.640 He gets $20 million special reportedly with them.
00:19:48.640 And they're amazing.
00:19:49.680 I mean, the Netflix special he did, Sticks and Stones, was just epic and possibly the
00:19:54.220 best comedy routine I've ever seen.
00:19:55.900 It's just he just did all the stuff you want a comedian to do.
00:19:59.160 He touched all the third rails unabashedly, cleverly.
00:20:03.700 There were brilliant intellectual traps in the whole thing.
00:20:06.740 It was just so well done.
00:20:08.520 And now he comes out again with the latest special and he takes aim at this whole, you
00:20:15.900 know, there's no such thing as biological sex thing and says openly, I side with J.K.
00:20:21.920 Rowling, who had made a point to that effect earlier that got her.
00:20:25.860 You can't cancel J.K.
00:20:27.340 Rowling, but people were upset in the trans community.
00:20:30.100 And here's a clip of Dave Chappelle and what's causing sort of a shitstorm in his world and
00:20:35.440 Netflix is now, too.
00:20:37.160 They've canceled people that are more powerful than me.
00:20:41.320 They canceled J.K.
00:20:42.600 Rowling.
00:20:42.920 Oh, my God, J.K.
00:20:44.120 Rowling wrote all the Harry Potter books by herself.
00:20:48.460 She sold so many books.
00:20:49.900 The Bible worries about her.
00:20:54.480 And they canceled it because she said in an interview, and this is not exactly what she
00:20:58.000 said, but effectually, she said gender was a fact.
00:21:03.020 And then the trans community got mad as shit.
00:21:05.380 They started calling her a TERF.
00:21:07.240 I didn't even know what the fuck that was.
00:21:08.840 But I know that trans people make up words to win arguments.
00:21:17.880 So I looked it up.
00:21:20.640 TERF is an acronym.
00:21:22.560 Stands for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists.
00:21:25.220 This is a real thing.
00:21:26.100 This is a group of women that hate transgender.
00:21:29.740 They don't hate transgender women, but they look at trans women the way we blacks might look
00:21:33.960 at blackface.
00:21:34.640 It offends them, like, ooh, this bitch is doing an impression of me.
00:21:43.760 Now, I shouldn't speak on this, because I am not a woman, nor am I a trans.
00:21:50.600 But as we've established, I am a feminist.
00:21:54.600 That's right.
00:22:03.160 I'm team TERF.
00:22:05.700 I agree.
00:22:07.840 I agree, man.
00:22:10.160 Gender is a fact.
00:22:13.560 Team TERF.
00:22:14.800 And now a group of trans employees and others are going to be staging a walkout next week
00:22:22.760 from Netflix.
00:22:23.780 This after a few of them stormed some meeting of executives and then all three promptly got
00:22:27.960 suspended.
00:22:28.660 They allowed one trans employee who stormed to come back because they said she didn't realize
00:22:35.040 that she wasn't supposed to be doing that.
00:22:36.980 And the Netflix CEO, Ted Serranos, has said, I don't believe this crosses a line on our
00:22:43.540 policy against programming that is hateful or promotes violence.
00:22:50.380 What do you make of it?
00:22:51.500 Well, look, as far as the trans people or their allies, another word that I can't stand,
00:22:56.800 as far as them walking out.
00:22:58.640 I mean, Netflix, in my opinion, at this point, would have the right to fire them.
00:23:01.920 Like, you cannot bring politics everywhere.
00:23:04.760 If you work at Netflix, you understand that you work for this streaming service.
00:23:08.620 And guess what?
00:23:09.060 They put up comedy and they put up some horror movies and they put up action movies and things
00:23:13.900 that might upset you and things that might make you laugh and might make you happy and
00:23:16.940 all of those things.
00:23:17.760 And if you think much like we're seeing this in the publishing world all the time, where,
00:23:21.140 you know, when Jordan Peterson's second book got announced, half of Penguin Random House,
00:23:25.220 which is my publishing company, by the way, when they, you know, all these young publishers
00:23:28.840 walked out and it's like, what, what world are you people in?
00:23:32.720 You don't get to decide all of these things because you're 22 and you've been unfortunately
00:23:37.380 brainwashed by, you know, some really horrible education that has led you to believe that
00:23:42.880 you own the world when you're just really starting on your adventure on the world.
00:23:47.060 As far as Chappelle, you know, what's interesting about that, if you listen to his cadence and
00:23:51.680 the tone in his voice, it almost really doesn't sound like a comedy special.
00:23:55.840 It was brilliant, by the way.
00:23:56.900 And of course, what he said there was true.
00:23:58.900 We can talk about the biology in just a sec.
00:24:01.020 But, you know, if you listen to just the general tone and tenor of it, you can see how evil what
00:24:07.160 the social justice warriors have done to America is.
00:24:10.240 Because here you have the guy who's basically considered the best living standup comic
00:24:14.520 in the entire world, where he's sort of on the defensive the entire time.
00:24:19.320 He clearly had to write that special going, oh man, I know they're going to come after
00:24:24.140 me for some basic stuff, so I'm going to have to do work.
00:24:27.440 I mean, a lot of that special felt like him just doing work just not to get destroyed after.
00:24:32.140 And then ironically, of course, they're going to go after him either way.
00:24:35.600 I mean, that's that's the thing.
00:24:36.700 I mean, try to imagine if Dave Chappelle did a standup special that they put out a week
00:24:40.000 ago on Netflix and it wasn't controversial.
00:24:42.520 It would not be funny.
00:24:43.940 That's the point.
00:24:44.680 Mm hmm.
00:24:45.820 Yeah, no, he'll go anywhere.
00:24:48.060 And and I guess he appeared at some venue publicly post this dust up and there were all these
00:24:53.720 A-list Hollywood stars there in the audience supporting him.
00:24:56.940 They gave him a standing ovation.
00:24:58.580 And he said something to the effect of if this is what it's like to be canceled.
00:25:02.160 I love it.
00:25:03.180 Right.
00:25:03.560 Cancel me all day long.
00:25:05.320 Unfortunately for regular Americans, that's not what it feels like to be canceled.
00:25:10.480 You don't have an A-list audience of celebrities standing on their feet and applauding you.
00:25:15.700 You lose your job and you get pushed out of the public square and you get pushed out
00:25:19.640 of, you know, sort of your social circles.
00:25:21.600 And it's incredibly painful to express a simple view like J.K.
00:25:27.300 Rowling's, which is I I think there are women and there are trans women and that they're
00:25:32.620 not the same thing.
00:25:34.580 Well, Megan, it's actually even more perverse than that, because when the A-list Hollywood
00:25:38.240 celebrities give him a standing ovation and oh, my God, you're telling the truth and it's
00:25:42.160 so wonderful, fantastic.
00:25:43.600 Hallelujah.
00:25:44.240 These are the same people who spend all day on Twitter and every interview they doing pushing
00:25:49.140 these progressive policies.
00:25:51.140 These are the ones who have basically, you know, I'm here in L.A., right?
00:25:54.240 I live outside of Hollywood.
00:25:55.920 These are the people who have destroyed all of the schools where you're not allowed to say
00:26:00.160 that a boy is different than a girl in this basic stuff.
00:26:02.560 And J.K. Rowling, I mean, if you look at her Twitter threads about this, she did it
00:26:07.640 in the most subtle, like decent, noncombative way, just saying there are biological differences.
00:26:14.940 That's it.
00:26:15.660 Not saying I don't want trans people to exist, not saying I don't want them to be treated
00:26:19.740 right or respectfully or find love or feel accomplished or anything else.
00:26:24.220 All she said is there are biological differences.
00:26:26.360 Megan, you know that we're going through surrogacy right now.
00:26:28.480 I can tell you this when they take a sperm, right, and they take an egg and they put those
00:26:33.700 things together in about three days.
00:26:36.280 If you do genetic testing, which we have done, they tell you, oh, we can tell you the sex
00:26:41.800 of all the embryos.
00:26:42.980 So is my fertility doctor who's been doing this for 30 years, is he a right wing maniac
00:26:48.280 for telling me that there's a difference between.
00:26:51.940 Right.
00:26:52.520 You get the point.
00:26:53.480 Like, it's like, is this guy either a maniac?
00:26:55.680 Is it possible that he's actually the scientist?
00:26:58.440 I mean, it's not easy to take a sperm and an egg.
00:27:00.480 These are small things with a microscope, put them together, create life.
00:27:03.600 That's pretty tricky.
00:27:04.620 So who's right?
00:27:05.360 Is it that guy that I'm paying a lot of money to do this, this modern miracle?
00:27:09.440 Or is it the activist who's angry over a word?
00:27:12.820 I think the average person can figure that out.
00:27:14.900 And we're allowed to say, no, we reject this new idea.
00:27:20.700 We support you as human beings and kindness to you and support for you to believe what
00:27:26.900 you want to believe.
00:27:27.620 It's fine by me.
00:27:28.720 But I'm not abandoning my lifelong understanding about something as fundamental as biology and
00:27:36.480 gender.
00:27:36.920 And for many of us, it's it's a religious thing as well.
00:27:40.400 And that's OK, too.
00:27:41.800 Like you, you don't become a bigot overnight because yesterday's belief today is suddenly
00:27:48.700 deplorable, right, is is rejected by a very small subset of the population.
00:27:53.980 I've said it a million times.
00:27:54.880 I'll say it again.
00:27:56.260 Regular trans people don't support this nonsense.
00:27:58.460 They don't support this.
00:28:00.120 It's the activists.
00:28:01.820 And I think I always try.
00:28:02.860 I can't remember whether it was Katie.
00:28:03.880 I think it's Katie Herzog who says, get better representatives, right, get better, get better
00:28:08.820 representatives, because the people who are representing the trans community don't seem
00:28:12.400 to understand their own constituency, who, for my part, in knowing quite a few trans people
00:28:16.720 are loving and kind and really just want to be left alone.
00:28:20.400 And that's really all any of us should want.
00:28:23.460 And that's also the problem.
00:28:24.640 You know, even if you look at the trans situation now, that's so it's so in the zeitgeist all the
00:28:30.180 time that it was an extension of the gay rights movement.
00:28:32.820 So gay people wanted the fight for equality.
00:28:35.740 And ultimately, that boiled down to some nondiscrimination laws, which have all been either reversed
00:28:41.340 or taken care of.
00:28:42.220 And then they wanted the right to marry, to enter the same legal agreement that a straight
00:28:46.460 couple could marry, which, by the way, to me, is like the ultimate conservative argument.
00:28:50.580 Like, that's a great conservative argument for gay marriage.
00:28:53.260 Oh, two people who love each other, who potentially want to build a family so they can build something
00:28:57.980 lasting and be responsible members of society and not just spend their life hooking up and
00:29:03.360 doing all the things that you fear gay people are doing.
00:29:05.500 Like it was it was obviously in my estimation and I know in yours, too, like a just cause.
00:29:09.540 What happened then is after equality was achieved with the LGBTs, the tea sort of took over and
00:29:16.720 basically ate the rest of the thing.
00:29:18.400 And now we're fighting over virtually nothing.
00:29:21.020 If you were to tell me that there is any law in the United States that said trans people
00:29:26.100 cannot do this, cannot get work, cannot go here, et cetera, et cetera.
00:29:30.240 Of course, I would be against that.
00:29:32.140 I know you would be against it.
00:29:33.080 I know everyone listening would be against that.
00:29:35.260 But that's not what this is about.
00:29:36.400 This is now about controlling language.
00:29:38.660 They are literally, literally fining people in Canada if you misgender someone.
00:29:44.840 By the way, that Jordan Peterson guy, that's what he was screaming and warning about six
00:29:49.000 years ago.
00:29:49.480 And what happened?
00:29:50.320 Everyone called him a right wing maniac from page of The New York Times trying to destroy
00:29:53.640 him.
00:29:54.100 So it's like maybe we should listen to people when they warn us about some of this stuff.
00:29:57.340 This reminds me of my my one of my gay friends said to me, why what is why do we have
00:30:01.740 to have LGBT?
00:30:03.560 Like, why did the why does the tea need to be in our group?
00:30:05.960 Because he doesn't see the issues as totally aligned.
00:30:08.800 And I have to say, at the time I laughed, it was sort of a joke.
00:30:11.360 But I but he's not wrong, because as we see this whole thing unfold more and more there,
00:30:16.840 it seems to me they're taking little kids who will, if left alone, would wind up realizing
00:30:22.400 later that they're gay or lesbian and telling them that they're trans and that to deny that
00:30:27.720 is sort of some sort of self-hatred and interfering in a way that's really disturbing.
00:30:33.680 Right.
00:30:34.160 It's sort of like they're trying to erase much of the gay and lesbian community in a
00:30:38.460 way that's disturbing.
00:30:40.140 It's upsetting.
00:30:41.080 Megan, that is the point.
00:30:42.720 And that's the point I've been talking about this a bit.
00:30:45.000 And that's a point that we should really drive home to people.
00:30:47.760 It's actually anti-gay.
00:30:50.100 It's anti-gay because what they're saying and what they're saying is, oh, if there's a
00:30:54.540 little six year old boy who's effeminate.
00:30:56.920 Right.
00:30:57.080 So instead of playing with G.I.
00:30:58.700 Joe or Transformers, he plays with Barbies.
00:31:01.500 What they're in essence saying is, oh, we should then put him on puberty blockers.
00:31:05.820 We should start having him dress a certain way.
00:31:08.160 We should encourage that because that somehow is good.
00:31:11.020 That would be less painful to the parent than if it turned out that he just was gay.
00:31:16.420 And by the way, you could do the reverse version of that, of course, with a young girl.
00:31:19.320 If she was playing with, you know, He-Man instead of instead of Barbies or whatever,
00:31:24.440 if the girl was playing with He-Man instead of whatever she was supposed to play with.
00:31:27.800 So so that's the that's the danger here that we've let a bunch of people just sort of run
00:31:33.600 the conversation.
00:31:34.220 And you also said something that I that I've been thinking about a lot lately, which is
00:31:37.640 when can we all just say no, like no more?
00:31:40.540 There is a constant.
00:31:41.740 We all feel this, that we're all being like sort of sucked on this descent, this slow descent
00:31:47.080 to hell with these people.
00:31:48.020 We're watching America disappear in front of our eyes and not just America.
00:31:51.580 We're watching all Western nations, Canada, Australia.
00:31:54.140 It's across the board.
00:31:54.980 We're all being destroyed by something.
00:31:57.120 And it's because we're all participating in it.
00:31:59.140 I don't know how we how we fully stop it.
00:32:01.260 Obviously, I think this is a little bit of it.
00:32:03.500 We have to talk about it, honestly.
00:32:04.860 But eventually, the good people that are out there just have to be like, no, I will not
00:32:09.120 participate in the lie.
00:32:10.380 I am sorry.
00:32:11.040 I just will not do it anymore.
00:32:12.220 And then what that means in your personal life, whether you have to basically pull a John Galt
00:32:16.080 and just get out of the system or not be on any of these platforms or figure out how to
00:32:20.400 only work for yourself or what your local community is.
00:32:22.680 I don't know exactly what the answer is, but I think that's kind of the first step.
00:32:26.180 Like, no, I will not partake in your delusion anymore.
00:32:30.040 Well, it's it's it's not totally unrelated to the way people are feeling about covid.
00:32:35.620 You know, it's like certain things may not be uttered.
00:32:37.820 And yet, you know, that there there's reason to utter them.
00:32:41.520 I want to have the conversation.
00:32:42.540 Then it comes to the police and all the defunding.
00:32:45.340 And actually, there's a story today about New York City and San Francisco and major other
00:32:51.640 cities, other major cities seeing huge spikes in.
00:32:56.040 And we knew about the murders, but now in shoplifting and apparently out in San Francisco,
00:33:01.000 they had actually lowered the penalty from felony to misdemeanor for shoplifting.
00:33:05.540 And guess what?
00:33:06.380 That's led to a rash of shoplifting.
00:33:09.220 And now several Walgreens have had to close because this can't keep the goods on the shelf
00:33:15.280 in a bad way.
00:33:16.480 It's not like people are paying for them in New York.
00:33:18.340 We saw something similar.
00:33:19.340 I wrote it down.
00:33:20.380 Uh, NYPD says from January to September of this year, shoplifting is up 6000 cases over
00:33:27.160 the same time last year, Walgreens shedding stores, Rite Aid made to they say, look, it's
00:33:33.500 it's not just in New York, it's unemployment, it's mental illness.
00:33:37.120 It's all these things.
00:33:38.840 Have you ever been into a like a Rite Aid or a Duane Reade or a CVS lately?
00:33:43.420 Half the stuff is locked up.
00:33:45.300 Your deodorant is locked up.
00:33:47.420 You got to I understood when they put Sudafed under there, right, because people use it.
00:33:51.200 People like Trump, he loves that for energy.
00:33:54.820 I don't know what they and some people make drugs out of it.
00:33:56.500 But Trump loves Sudafed deodorant.
00:33:59.940 Who's like who's trying to make drugs out of my secret?
00:34:03.020 It's not.
00:34:03.680 It's not drugs.
00:34:04.300 It's theft.
00:34:06.420 Megan, something like I think it's over 20 Walgreens in the San Francisco area have closed.
00:34:11.520 And there are a gajillion videos of people literally just walking in, putting their arm out
00:34:16.000 on the aisle and just dumping everything into a bag.
00:34:19.180 And then you've got a security guard there who doesn't want to get punched in the face
00:34:22.480 because he knows no good is going to come out of it, who basically acts as a doorman.
00:34:25.740 And he just opens the door and they run out.
00:34:27.600 We're seeing this happen in high end stores all over the place.
00:34:30.480 I mean, there's every day you see these videos on Twitter.
00:34:32.940 And it's like all of these people wanted to defund the police and every single place without
00:34:39.100 exception that they defunded the police, Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles,
00:34:44.140 San Francisco.
00:34:44.720 I mean, as you know, they're all they're all progressive run cities.
00:34:47.160 New York, every single place, crime and murder has gone up.
00:34:50.600 I went back to New York City a couple of weeks ago.
00:34:52.800 I spent most of my adult life in New York City until I moved out here to crazy L.A.
00:34:57.700 And I lived up where you sort of where you used to live on the Upper West.
00:35:01.940 I think I can say that.
00:35:02.640 Can I say that?
00:35:03.240 Yeah, yeah, you can.
00:35:04.280 Yeah, no, I say it all the time.
00:35:05.940 Yeah, OK.
00:35:06.540 So and watching the city, it has fundamentally changed in two years.
00:35:13.000 It did not feel like New York City to me.
00:35:15.100 First off, there are police everywhere, almost every corner.
00:35:19.420 There are barricades almost everywhere.
00:35:21.580 It smells like weed everywhere.
00:35:23.360 I'm for legalizing weed, but it smells like weed everywhere.
00:35:25.700 It used to smell like pee everywhere.
00:35:26.720 Now it smells like weed.
00:35:27.580 So, you know, I guess I guess maybe that's a little bit better.
00:35:30.480 But, you know, the the general feeling there of, you know, oh, you can steal stuff.
00:35:35.660 That's kind of OK.
00:35:36.880 And, you know, the other one with in New York City, you can jump a turnstile.
00:35:40.160 They won't they won't arrest you.
00:35:41.540 So it's like, oh, if you pay, you're kind of a sucker.
00:35:44.740 You know, it's like, all right.
00:35:46.240 Why are you paying?
00:35:47.120 Because you could just jump it.
00:35:48.340 We're not going to do anything.
00:35:49.380 And and ultimately what that creates is a society of people that don't believe in responsibility.
00:35:54.180 They don't believe that anything matters.
00:35:57.300 And then what happens?
00:35:58.520 You're going to get more drug use.
00:35:59.660 You're going to get more crime.
00:36:00.660 Then what happens?
00:36:01.740 Well, the people with some money who fund a lot of these things and build nice buildings
00:36:05.100 and nice parks and things, they start leaving.
00:36:07.160 And then you just get urban decay.
00:36:08.500 I mean, we're seeing it all over the place.
00:36:10.920 You so.
00:36:11.580 Yeah.
00:36:11.800 I mean, there's a push, of course, to defund the police.
00:36:14.220 And then there's also this related push to sort of not do away with laws, but to reduce
00:36:20.000 punishments, to eliminate certain crimes, to that's why they they change shoplifting from
00:36:25.860 a felony down to a misdemeanor as part of this whole movement of reevaluating our criminal
00:36:30.640 justice system and how it sweeps so many people up into it who they don't think should be in
00:36:34.740 the prison system and so on and related to is the belief now that if you're a store manager
00:36:39.820 and you call the police on a shoplifter and that shoplifter is a person of color, that
00:36:43.940 you're a racist.
00:36:44.860 Even if you're a black manager, you're a racist because you're setting this person up to be
00:36:48.820 killed because people have this belief totally unfounded that the police are killing 10,000
00:36:53.180 people a year who are unarmed.
00:36:54.620 Meanwhile, it's more like 12 to 15 and unarmed is being used very generously because the Washington
00:36:59.720 Post, which keeps these tallies, will count you as unarmed if you have a loaded gun in
00:37:05.060 your glove compartment and you're racing away from the cop or, you know, in a police chase.
00:37:09.420 Anyway, my point is, you know, bit by bit, those policies and this sort of soft hearted
00:37:15.280 like, oh, let's be kinder.
00:37:17.280 We're seeing the real live effects of them.
00:37:20.660 All the more reason back to point number one, which is it's OK to speak up.
00:37:25.900 It's OK to listen to that little voice in the back of your head that says, this is not
00:37:30.540 right.
00:37:31.380 I want to be respectful of your argument.
00:37:34.540 I want you to be able to make it.
00:37:36.740 But I disagree.
00:37:38.320 And I think we're going to have real life consequences of your thanks to your policies,
00:37:44.140 your positions that I don't want my kids to have to deal with.
00:37:46.880 I don't know.
00:37:47.960 I hope we're at a tipping point, Dave.
00:37:49.440 Well, I don't know that we are yet.
00:37:51.640 Like the question always is, how far can they drag us?
00:37:55.160 What is the rock bottom when enough of our cities have sort of collapsed?
00:37:59.340 You know, this idea that we now have in Los Angeles because we have the former DA of San
00:38:03.360 Francisco who ruined San Francisco.
00:38:05.280 And then what happens in lefty politics?
00:38:07.080 You fell up.
00:38:07.880 So he became the DA of L.A., where you're basically allowed to steal up to $800 or $850
00:38:14.160 worth of stuff and you won't be prosecuted.
00:38:16.880 So that means you could walk into Best Buy and steal a PlayStation 5 and five games, stay
00:38:22.540 under that $800 threshold.
00:38:24.160 But you steal that sixth game.
00:38:25.320 They may have to say something about it.
00:38:26.980 We are we are actually promoting bad behavior.
00:38:30.840 And, you know, the proof is in the pudding because people see it.
00:38:33.940 And then what happened to California last year?
00:38:35.960 For the first time in California's history, there was a net loss of population.
00:38:40.420 No one is anyone.
00:38:41.380 Have you heard in the last two years, you and your personal life, have you heard of
00:38:44.560 anyone moving to California?
00:38:46.840 No, moving to New York or moving to any of these?
00:38:50.300 But they're all going to Texas.
00:38:51.700 They're all going to Florida.
00:38:53.020 They're all going to Tennessee.
00:38:53.740 All the places that the liberals said, oh, that's where the backwards rednecks live.
00:38:58.180 And now those are the those are the havens of sanity at the moment.
00:39:01.860 Yeah, because when the real life consequences of these decisions and policies come do, you know,
00:39:06.280 come become apparent, they flee.
00:39:08.380 And I'm thinking about one area.
00:39:10.240 Now, this isn't exactly.
00:39:11.920 Well, it's actually gotten a lot bluer, but we've been talking about Loudoun County, Virginia.
00:39:17.000 I used to live right by there when I lived in Alexandria years ago.
00:39:20.900 So Virginia is getting more and more blue as you know, it's going for Democrats now more
00:39:24.580 than Republicans.
00:39:25.400 And Loudoun County is a very sort of Tony suburb there.
00:39:28.460 And that's where this this dad was placed under arrest in September as he tried to show
00:39:35.400 up at the school board meeting.
00:39:36.680 And it turns out that his daughter had been raped by a man, a young student, a male student
00:39:43.180 he described as wearing a skirt who went into the girl's bathroom and raped his daughter.
00:39:48.780 The kid was arrested ultimately and passed on.
00:39:52.520 We're speaking of passing the trash.
00:39:53.800 The mayor, you know, the one bad mayor to the next city.
00:39:56.620 This kid who's under arrest and accused of this felony was passed on to another school
00:40:02.760 where he then allegedly committed a very similar crime against another girl.
00:40:07.960 And now it turns out today now the police or the school is saying that they did call the
00:40:13.840 cops on this kid when they found out in Loudoun County that he'd done this.
00:40:18.720 But what it has emerged, Dave, is that the Virginia governor, old blackface wearing Ralph
00:40:25.280 Northam, he signed a bill into law that would relieve schools of their duty to report sexual
00:40:35.140 batteries, sexual assault like this one's a level up.
00:40:38.660 So they did have to whether they in fact did.
00:40:40.980 I don't know.
00:40:41.360 The dad's disputing it.
00:40:42.360 Um, but what so now the schools don't even have to report a sexual battery against a young
00:40:50.500 girl in the school thanks to these bleeding heart policies that they think are going to
00:40:57.200 save kids.
00:40:58.160 They're going to they're going to they're going to save perpetrators, but they're not going
00:41:01.520 to save victims.
00:41:02.480 That's where we're picking it up with Dave right after this quick break.
00:41:05.720 Hold your thought.
00:41:06.240 Dave, this Virginia case is so disturbing.
00:41:14.360 Um, I was reading Miranda Devine in the New York Post, which is always worth your time.
00:41:18.360 She's just so gosh, I wish I could do with a pen what she can do.
00:41:22.260 Um, and she just left.
00:41:25.100 She spared no one.
00:41:26.160 The superintendent of schools out there, this guy named Scott Ziegler needs to go.
00:41:31.960 Yeah, this this dad, Scott Smith, was.
00:41:36.240 Publicly humiliated.
00:41:38.880 She reminds us of how the media put that video of him being dragged out of the school
00:41:43.100 board meeting where we now know he was trying to raise an objection to the transgender bathroom
00:41:47.760 policy at schools because of what had just happened to his daughter confirmed by police.
00:41:52.240 By the way, this isn't some lunatic.
00:41:53.500 This kid's under arrest.
00:41:54.720 The police have not pushed back one bit on his story.
00:41:57.200 And he and a trans activist got in his face and said she didn't believe his story.
00:42:02.920 He called her a bitch and then he got arrested.
00:42:06.140 OK, he was humiliated.
00:42:07.400 He was fat shamed.
00:42:08.860 They mocked him mercilessly on all these channels.
00:42:11.940 Right.
00:42:12.320 And and then just last week, the Biden administration cited his case, or at least the letter to the
00:42:19.560 Biden administration by this National Association of School Boards cited his case.
00:42:22.960 And it's pushed to take a look at school board meetings and crack down on these parents
00:42:26.300 as domestic terrorists.
00:42:27.340 They cited him as an example without naming him, but it was his case, obviously.
00:42:32.680 And no one gave two dams about his daughter in the process.
00:42:37.360 That superintendent got up at the board meeting, the one that Scott Smith was very upset at
00:42:41.720 and said, we have not had any problem of crime or sexual assault in our bathrooms involving
00:42:48.880 any trans students.
00:42:50.000 I don't know whether the kid in the skirt was actually trans.
00:42:52.420 It's a distinction without a difference.
00:42:54.500 They don't care.
00:42:55.360 They're so knee jerk.
00:42:57.480 We've got to not say anything that could be perceived offensive by this woke community
00:43:01.360 that they will actually endanger the lives of teenage young girls.
00:43:05.900 Megan, when you believe in ideology over truth, then pretty much everything is off the table.
00:43:12.080 You will let young girls be assaulted in the name of the ideology.
00:43:16.320 And this sort of connects to what we were just talking about, about about somebody's got
00:43:19.940 to say no.
00:43:20.820 What happened in this system?
00:43:22.140 I was just reading about it during the break because I wanted to make sure I had all my
00:43:24.600 facts straight.
00:43:25.360 I mean, basically what happened in this story is the lie just continued through every level.
00:43:29.740 So the superintendent, everybody basically was like, oh, there's something politically hot
00:43:35.380 here.
00:43:35.720 There's an ideology out there that says somehow trans, good, straight people, bad.
00:43:40.220 We can't, you know, we have to fit what actually happened, an assault on a young girl.
00:43:45.240 We have to fit that within an ideology.
00:43:47.620 Once you do that, you're destroying truth.
00:43:49.580 And then everyone kind of does it.
00:43:51.740 And then when you add this to this insane, insane Biden administration, I mean, it's Merrick
00:43:58.100 Garland, the attorney general, who's basically saying we're going to treat parents who show
00:44:02.060 up to board meetings and who fight to make sure their kids aren't being indoctrinated.
00:44:06.280 We're going to treat them as domestic terrorists.
00:44:08.300 It's like, what else are these people going to destroy?
00:44:11.760 And I would say at some point, you know, it's fine to say, okay, you know, these progressives
00:44:17.340 when they do all this stuff, it's like, they've got a big heart, but a small brain.
00:44:20.980 That's kind of what I think everyone is sort of thinking at the moment.
00:44:23.860 Like they mean, well, well, you know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions and
00:44:28.700 enough of us must say we have to get off that road.
00:44:32.620 We must build our own roads.
00:44:34.520 We must go another direction.
00:44:36.620 And otherwise you will literally send your daughters to schools where they will be assaulted
00:44:42.320 and then there will be a cover up and then you'll be the one canceled for it.
00:44:46.100 And I think we could connect this even to the COVID stuff.
00:44:48.360 It's like, if you make the choice that your young eight-year-old child should not get the
00:44:54.320 jab, because by the way, 0.002 CDC numbers, your guys can check them right now, of kids under
00:45:01.880 18 die of COVID.
00:45:02.920 It's about 500 kids who often had other things going on.
00:45:05.820 It's very sad either way.
00:45:07.000 But if you make a personal choice, you're now saying to the government's now saying to
00:45:11.180 you, no, no, no, no, no, no, we're going to do it no matter what.
00:45:14.080 So all of the things that we're talking about, I think everything that we've talked about
00:45:17.320 today so far, they're all connected.
00:45:19.600 Will you as a person stand up for what you think is right and defend your life?
00:45:24.340 Or will you just outsource it to the world that at the moment is, is trying to destroy
00:45:29.600 everything we once knew was good.
00:45:31.340 And it's like, there's no room for nuance.
00:45:35.120 The, no one is saying transgender individuals are going to go into all these bathrooms and
00:45:43.360 rape all the girls.
00:45:44.600 Like that's, no, no, no sane person is saying it's just, there's a concern about the risk
00:45:49.680 and about the policy leading bad actors to take advantage of it.
00:45:55.380 And this school doesn't help the matter by then not informing the next school to whom
00:46:02.420 they passed the perpetrator of what had happened.
00:46:06.060 I mean, can you imagine we haven't heard from the parents of that girl yet, but when we do,
00:46:09.620 they're going to be angry.
00:46:10.880 And if they show up at the next school board meeting and try to protest this superintendent,
00:46:14.480 they could very well see a Department of Justice or FBI official or descendant calling them
00:46:20.840 a domestic terrorist.
00:46:22.340 That's the state of America 2021 as it stands right now.
00:46:26.560 We're going to pick it up with Dave Rubin on this one 2021, 2024 poll, respectable poll
00:46:31.860 that looks amazing for former President Trump if he chooses to run next time.
00:46:37.860 Don't go away.
00:46:38.420 Lots more to do.
00:46:38.960 There's still so much to go over, including, um, let's talk about this football coach because
00:46:51.300 we're doing a day of sports here, Dave.
00:46:53.640 Okay.
00:46:54.600 Only one of us knows what they're talking about.
00:46:56.860 Um, but I do know a little bit about the NFL and this guy, John Gruden is apparently,
00:47:01.340 you know, uh, uh, he's been a very successful coach.
00:47:04.880 I will say I've been so out of touch.
00:47:06.680 I didn't now know that they were the Las Vegas Raiders.
00:47:08.780 When the hell did that happen?
00:47:10.760 A couple years ago, I'm, it was like, as you know, I'm not paying that much attention to
00:47:14.760 the major leagues either.
00:47:15.520 I just can't, I can't deal with the politics in it.
00:47:17.860 So I'm not totally sure, but I think it's in the last couple of years.
00:47:20.300 It was Oakland.
00:47:21.100 It wasn't like L I don't know.
00:47:22.480 Anyway, then they moved to Las Vegas and this guy, um, John Gruden was a very successful
00:47:28.600 coach.
00:47:28.920 He had, um, I don't know what he did, but he did good things.
00:47:31.360 He won a Superbowl with the bucks about a decade ago or so.
00:47:34.480 Yeah.
00:47:34.700 There you go.
00:47:35.160 I got that one.
00:47:35.780 There you go.
00:47:36.160 Okay.
00:47:36.580 So now he's been pushed out because they found the NFL did some investigation of the Washington
00:47:41.980 football team.
00:47:42.700 It used to be, um, the, uh, Washington, right?
00:47:45.900 Redskins.
00:47:46.360 It's not the Redskins.
00:47:47.280 I can't keep track of all the scrubbing of the names.
00:47:49.560 Now they just went with the Washington football.
00:47:51.520 I can't, it's like, it's everywhere.
00:47:53.680 I'm having trouble with the language today, Dave.
00:47:55.960 Okay.
00:47:56.760 Um, they did an investigation to another football team and Gruden got pulled up into it because
00:48:01.000 he had been emailing with the guy there, the former president of that team.
00:48:05.100 And that other guy, Bruce Allen was fired in 2019.
00:48:08.420 Gruden had been emailing with him from Gruden's personal address.
00:48:11.920 Gruden definitely said some things that were extremely dicey, um, including referring to
00:48:16.540 a black man named Demory Smith, the executive director of the NFL Players Association as dumb,
00:48:22.660 dumb, or a Smith, um, saying quote, he, he quote, has lips the size of Michelin tires.
00:48:30.080 Um, that's probably the thing that got him fired.
00:48:33.960 He also called Roger Goodell, um, the F word, the, the derogatory F word for gays, uh, clueless
00:48:41.640 anti-football P word.
00:48:43.440 Um, he used the term queers and so on.
00:48:47.840 I could go on, but anyway, this is not a politically correct guy.
00:48:50.460 And that, that comment about Demory Smith, I I've heard people try to defend it.
00:48:54.820 I don't know.
00:48:55.300 I think it's clearly racist, but it was a long time ago, years ago.
00:48:59.700 It was in a private email and I don't know.
00:49:02.440 I heard Charles CW Cook, who I love at national review saying what this boils down to is a
00:49:06.500 question of what, what kind of society we want to live in.
00:49:09.160 Do we want to live in a society that sees somebody do stupid things and say things that
00:49:13.160 are not okay, um, and then be publicly outed with such information that they never chose
00:49:19.140 to share publicly and atone for them and say, you know, I'm sorry.
00:49:23.220 I'm, I actually really am sorry.
00:49:25.480 And then move on.
00:49:26.920 Right.
00:49:27.320 Or do we want everyone's life to be destroyed when something like this comes out against
00:49:31.280 their will?
00:49:31.820 And, you know, by no means was he the one trying to put this in the public sphere?
00:49:35.720 What are your thoughts on it?
00:49:36.740 Yeah.
00:49:36.860 Well, of course I agree with that.
00:49:37.920 But before that, you know, on the big lips comment, I live in LA and I have never thought
00:49:41.820 of big lips as black, white, gay, or straight big lips just means you got a problem that
00:49:46.460 started in Beverly Hills, probably on Rodeo drive and you got some bad injections.
00:49:50.260 That's number one.
00:49:51.400 Okay.
00:49:51.780 So big lips goes across races.
00:49:53.680 Okay.
00:49:54.300 Yes, it does.
00:49:55.240 But you understand it's not the same to say about, you know, a white person.
00:50:00.080 She's got big lips as it is to say it about a black man or to use the term late.
00:50:04.180 Like I can see some of these terms, they historically have been used in a derogatory way against
00:50:09.940 certain groups.
00:50:11.100 Sure.
00:50:11.300 So joking aside, look, I'm not defending any of the things he said, but I would say, you
00:50:14.520 know, we've all said offensive things and we've all said things that have different
00:50:18.800 meanings as time goes on.
00:50:20.920 And I include myself in that.
00:50:22.300 I suspect you include yourself in that.
00:50:24.160 We've all written things.
00:50:25.340 We've all said things.
00:50:26.100 We've all thought things.
00:50:27.420 And we eventually, I mean, this is what the thought police, right?
00:50:31.020 1984.
00:50:31.420 This is what it would be about the thought police that everyone will have said something
00:50:35.080 when they were 20 that will destroy them when they're 60.
00:50:38.460 And that gets to the Charles Cook point.
00:50:40.420 It's like, what kind of society will we have?
00:50:43.020 Will we have something that will have no forgiveness that will be far worse than religion?
00:50:47.680 Most religions have a redemption narrative.
00:50:49.960 There's a way to, to be a good person after you have sinned or done something bad.
00:50:55.160 But this modern cult is what I would call it at this point.
00:50:59.480 There is no forgiveness.
00:51:00.620 We will destroy you.
00:51:01.680 We will remove you.
00:51:02.600 We will destroy your family.
00:51:03.720 We'll make sure that you cannot work, et cetera, et cetera.
00:51:06.240 Even yesterday, John Madden football, which is the big, you know, PlayStation Xbox football
00:51:10.300 game for the last 30 years, they have removed John Gruden.
00:51:14.140 So he will not be in it anymore.
00:51:15.420 However, from what I understand, they have never removed a player.
00:51:18.680 Now, there are players in the league over the years who have raped women, beat women.
00:51:22.280 I think one guy at least murdered somebody, probably more than that.
00:51:26.020 I think several have.
00:51:27.600 It's like, well, we don't remove them.
00:51:29.760 But I think the bigger point here, Megan, is that do you feel like we're a more tolerant
00:51:33.780 society now when we remove Uncle Ben from the rice box and we got rid of Aunt Jemima?
00:51:39.900 Oh, my God, I just got an Aunt Jemima syrup.
00:51:42.720 She's gone.
00:51:43.500 She is.
00:51:43.900 They actually did it.
00:51:44.820 She's gone.
00:51:45.520 But think about it.
00:51:46.180 Who did it?
00:51:46.760 It was the tolerant progressives, right, who made sure that Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima were
00:51:51.680 removed.
00:51:51.980 So now I guess we can only see white people on products.
00:51:54.540 That's what the white supremacists would want.
00:51:56.300 I mean, these people, these people are completely insane.
00:51:59.340 But the main point is, does anyone in their right mind think we're becoming more tolerant
00:52:04.780 right now?
00:52:05.360 Has any of the cancellations has destroying Roseanne Barr for a joke she made?
00:52:11.120 Did that when she had the number one sitcom in America?
00:52:13.900 Right.
00:52:14.360 Did that make us more tolerant?
00:52:16.160 Getting rid of Aunt Jemima did that getting rid of.
00:52:18.920 Are we more tolerant now?
00:52:20.020 Are we more decent?
00:52:20.760 Are we more loving?
00:52:21.500 Are we doing any of the things that we're supposed to be doing?
00:52:24.820 I don't think so.
00:52:25.500 It seems all far worse.
00:52:27.220 So perhaps that's what they're really trying to get us towards and not some, you know,
00:52:31.460 diverse and inclusive, you know, utopia.
00:52:34.680 Because guess what?
00:52:35.180 It doesn't exist.
00:52:35.840 The thing that bothers me is, yes, the double standard you pointed out, because I'd love
00:52:41.380 to see all the criminal histories of everybody who plays on the field and the coaching staff
00:52:45.280 and the management team and see how that looks.
00:52:47.000 But I'd love to see the emails of the people who are celebrating this guy's downfall.
00:52:50.600 I'd love to see the emails of the people who made it happen.
00:52:53.260 Let me see your emails over the past 10 years.
00:52:55.120 All of them.
00:52:55.560 Your personal ones.
00:52:56.440 Not your professional ones.
00:52:57.440 That's not what he was doing.
00:52:58.580 Let me see your personal emails and texts.
00:53:00.440 All of them.
00:53:01.340 How do you stack up?
00:53:02.640 Love to see it.
00:53:03.440 Because even the guy who he went after, you know, Demore Smith, who did not have nice
00:53:07.520 things to say and obviously thinks that Gruden's racist and so on.
00:53:12.020 I wonder whether he said anything in his past that he'd like to have back or that's in a
00:53:15.300 personal email that he'd hate to see on the cover of The New York Times.
00:53:18.760 You know, and a lot of these were sent before we knew.
00:53:21.040 Don't send anything in an email you wouldn't want to see on the cover of The New York Times.
00:53:24.720 Look, I understand the response is like, look, I could look back on my own history.
00:53:28.560 I'm certainly never talking about a black person's lips like this, but that doesn't
00:53:33.740 mean he is he deserves to lose everything.
00:53:37.200 That was a stupid thing to say.
00:53:39.660 And I think you can say he had a racist moment without condemning the man as a racist and
00:53:45.900 that the use of the F term, right, that that used to be bandied about, you know, like in
00:53:51.720 a locker room.
00:53:54.080 I don't know.
00:53:54.860 It used to be I don't want to say more acceptable, but like it used to be bandied about in a way
00:54:01.000 that gays wouldn't stop you and say, don't say that.
00:54:04.540 Right.
00:54:04.780 They they didn't feel personally attacked by the word.
00:54:07.300 No.
00:54:07.740 And by the way, I think if I heard what you said correctly, when he said the F word, which
00:54:12.040 it's so silly, we even have to say that.
00:54:13.700 But fine.
00:54:14.320 When he said the F word, I think he was referring to Roger Goodell.
00:54:17.060 Roger Goodell is not gay.
00:54:18.320 So it wasn't a gay slur.
00:54:20.280 It was just like, oh, this is just a word we say about people.
00:54:23.360 He wasn't saying something about Roger Goodell's sexuality unless he knows something that I
00:54:26.920 don't know.
00:54:27.180 But I don't think Roger Goodell would make a very good gay guy.
00:54:29.220 But putting that aside.
00:54:30.600 No, so he basically included your people and my people.
00:54:33.040 He called them an F word and the P word.
00:54:35.720 So it's you and me, I guess.
00:54:37.440 I don't feel offended.
00:54:38.560 Do you?
00:54:40.060 I don't feel offended.
00:54:41.740 And also, this is what a decadent society would be screaming over.
00:54:45.500 We've got it so good.
00:54:46.580 We're not actually arguing over racism, right?
00:54:49.800 If emails had come out that John Gruden was secretly funding the KKK, right?
00:54:55.740 Now we've got something.
00:54:56.940 Now it's like, man, this guy's racist.
00:54:58.680 If emails had been leaked that were like, you know, John Gruden actually did not want
00:55:04.120 black football players on his team.
00:55:06.320 Now we've got something.
00:55:07.880 But instead, we're arguing over words that are politically incorrect.
00:55:11.620 And again, it's not defending them.
00:55:14.680 And maybe there's some twang of something in him.
00:55:17.880 But you know what?
00:55:18.880 There's probably some twang of something in all of us to some degree or another.
00:55:23.880 And you cannot.
00:55:25.060 They think if they can just destroy enough people that what will be remaining on the
00:55:29.540 other side will be a perfect set of people.
00:55:32.280 But humans are not perfect.
00:55:34.480 And you're going to have to kill them.
00:55:35.580 Why does communism kill an awful lot of people?
00:55:37.580 Because to get to that utopia, you got to remove a lot of imperfect things.
00:55:41.660 And let's go let's go one layer down.
00:55:43.580 OK, because there were a couple of other things.
00:55:47.020 He's apparently the coach of the only openly gay player in the in the league.
00:55:52.360 The only I think I think it's the only.
00:55:55.700 And he objected to it, according to these emails.
00:55:59.140 He didn't want it.
00:55:59.980 He said that the NFL that Goodell should not have pressured the then coach of the Rams to
00:56:05.280 draft, quote, queers into the NFL.
00:56:07.980 And then and then he also denounced the emergence of women as referees.
00:56:14.400 I still I'm not offended.
00:56:16.140 I just feel like, OK, a lot of guys in football don't want women around.
00:56:19.520 It's been a thing.
00:56:20.240 I'm like, I I understand how they got there and how a lot of them have gotten past that.
00:56:25.600 And I don't really care.
00:56:27.100 I just I don't know, Dave.
00:56:29.120 Like, I know we're supposed to look at this and respond with horror.
00:56:32.320 But is it a particular shock to you that an old coach like this was like, oh, there's
00:56:36.880 a gay guy in the NFL or we don't want them women on the sidelines?
00:56:40.360 I realize a little backward, but must he be destroyed?
00:56:43.440 Right.
00:56:43.860 No.
00:56:44.200 And also, it's like we really need to understand the context of how he speaks in general.
00:56:48.740 You know, the way you speak versus your behaviors are not necessarily completely lined up the
00:56:52.780 way you might just write something quickly in an email that might be flippant or sarcastic
00:56:57.080 or whatever.
00:56:57.440 But again, it's not even to defend any of that.
00:56:59.780 But I would say on the on the gay player part, you know, there's other reasons that you may
00:57:04.100 not want the distraction of that that have nothing to do with being homophobic, meaning
00:57:08.100 an irrational fear of gay people.
00:57:10.460 Like if you know that, OK, fine, let's say let's say you're completely fine with gay
00:57:14.180 people.
00:57:14.440 You love gay people.
00:57:16.040 You still may have some hesitancy to have a gay player in your locker because the media
00:57:21.540 circus around that will be so endless and so nonstop that that could be a bit of a
00:57:27.920 distraction for your team.
00:57:29.040 I'm not saying that's right.
00:57:30.740 Progress is messy.
00:57:31.940 All of those things.
00:57:33.140 But there could be some reasons that you would be like, ah, this could be a pain in the butt.
00:57:36.820 Sort of like when there was that, I believe it was like a year ago, they were trying to
00:57:40.220 get a female kicker into the NFL.
00:57:42.740 And it's like if she can kick the 50 yard field goal as well as the guy, of course, in my
00:57:47.500 opinion, she should be allowed in the league.
00:57:48.900 But could you see a coach going, man, I have one goal this season.
00:57:52.820 My one goal is to win.
00:57:54.780 And I know how hard it is to win that Super Bowl.
00:57:57.300 And we got to be focused.
00:57:58.360 And the media is going to go crazy no matter what.
00:58:00.780 And that thing will be a distraction.
00:58:02.180 So I'd rather just have the guy to not deal with it because they brought me in to win.
00:58:06.280 And it's like if we can't honestly talk about that, then you're never going to get equality
00:58:11.300 because people play sports to win.
00:58:13.340 And if that had been a one off comment about, quote, queers being drafted, I'd give him
00:58:17.460 the benefit of the doubt.
00:58:18.260 But it's very clear to me reading the write up of these these emails.
00:58:21.320 This is not just a not PC guy.
00:58:24.540 This is a guy who makes very dicey comments on sexuality, on race, on women and so on.
00:58:31.080 And I'm still not feeling like he should be thrown out.
00:58:34.620 I just feel like you go show me all the emails of the other NFL coaches.
00:58:40.380 Show me all the emails of the NFL players.
00:58:43.040 Show them to me.
00:58:44.060 You want to tell me that there's not an NFL player in there who has said a controversial
00:58:47.880 thing about women or gay people.
00:58:51.940 Bull, I don't believe you.
00:58:54.540 And so we're just sort of it's a whack-a-mole situation.
00:58:57.700 You know, if you're that you just happen to be in the unfortunate situation where, you
00:59:00.240 know, these emails that don't make you look good pop up.
00:59:03.060 OK, but in the NFL in particular, there's not going to be any sexist emails.
00:59:06.580 Bullshit.
00:59:06.960 As you point out, these are a lot of these guys have actually committed crimes against
00:59:09.660 women and they're allowed to play.
00:59:11.100 So spare me the moral, right?
00:59:12.800 The people in this league.
00:59:14.060 Yeah.
00:59:14.280 If you want to give one of your producers a fun little project for a few minutes, like
00:59:17.960 pull up 10 of the top crimes that current or former NFL players have done.
00:59:22.420 And let's judge them compared to someone saying a mean word, which, again, I'm not saying
00:59:27.000 it's I'm not completely dismissing a long.
00:59:30.440 We're not endorsing the email content.
00:59:32.660 Right.
00:59:33.320 Right.
00:59:33.660 Of course.
00:59:34.440 Of course.
00:59:34.720 By the way, I think O.J.
00:59:36.060 Simpson would come up.
00:59:36.820 Number one, I'm thinking that's the one I do know.
00:59:39.980 Wait, he did it?
00:59:40.720 He did it?
00:59:41.380 I got to do it to me.
00:59:42.340 I got to talk to my guy.
00:59:42.940 No, he's out looking for the real killers right now, as you well know.
00:59:46.280 OK, let's talk about the media for a minute.
00:59:48.020 And Dr. Fauci, who now, in addition to having his own action hero, has his own documentary.
00:59:55.520 This is now being released by National Geographic.
00:59:58.600 And apparently, you know, you go to the Rotten Tomatoes thing.
01:00:02.360 The experts, you know, the sort of the review reviewers, the critics.
01:00:06.020 Yes.
01:00:06.260 Yes.
01:00:06.740 Ninety one percent.
01:00:08.180 The audience score.
01:00:09.920 Four percent.
01:00:11.960 Four percent.
01:00:13.320 We've got a little bit of the trailer.
01:00:16.380 Let's watch it.
01:00:17.300 Can't take everything seriously because then you'll start thinking that you're something
01:00:20.720 that you're not.
01:00:21.980 I grew up in a somewhat tough neighborhood in Brooklyn.
01:00:25.320 The culture is that you didn't get intimidated by a lot of things.
01:00:28.440 When COVID hit, he became this target.
01:00:31.980 My dad said, we're going to get through this whole thing.
01:00:34.680 And he's held back.
01:00:35.820 We're seeing upticks again and nobody's hearing from you.
01:00:38.620 I don't understand the hate that people have.
01:00:40.900 We heard about what he went through in the HIV AIDS pandemic, like seeing signs Fauci's
01:00:46.660 a murderer.
01:00:47.440 And I remember asking him, like, is this actually what it was like?
01:00:50.260 His response was, you can't even compare the two.
01:00:52.920 Fauci says, here are the facts and here's my recommendation for a way forward.
01:00:57.520 He becomes the size of the challenge he faces each time.
01:01:01.340 If you're a public servant, you don't do it because you want to make money.
01:01:04.620 You don't do it for the glory.
01:01:06.200 You do it because you care.
01:01:08.020 And that is when Nelson Mandela left.
01:01:11.280 Oh, wait, no, we're talking about the music.
01:01:17.060 I mean, it's a little over the top, but so indicative of how the media writ large feels
01:01:23.400 about him.
01:01:24.480 Megan, I honestly could have barfed during that.
01:01:26.860 Look, I'm not saying he's a bad man.
01:01:29.520 I really am not.
01:01:30.480 And dealing with everything we've dealt with in the last two years, it's like, this is
01:01:34.320 tough stuff.
01:01:35.440 It's tough not only to understand the science, but then to communicate it.
01:01:38.540 We also don't, as you know, we don't have an honest media that allows any real information
01:01:43.020 to get out there.
01:01:43.900 We're all trying to destroy each other.
01:01:45.300 I get that the whole thing is a freaking mess.
01:01:47.620 But Fauci at this point, first off, he's the highest paid person in the federal government.
01:01:51.080 Did you know that?
01:01:51.580 Over 400 grand a year.
01:01:52.860 He's obviously made a ton of money doing this.
01:01:54.980 He goes on every Sunday show and is treated like a god.
01:01:57.780 He's got comic books and cartoon figures and all of these things.
01:02:01.940 So let's not pretend that this is purely some selfless thing.
01:02:04.840 Everyone has some level of an ego.
01:02:06.920 The way they frame that there, that, you know, he's under attack and he does it just because
01:02:11.380 he's good.
01:02:12.380 Well, he's the same guy who, at the height of the pandemic, when the emails were released,
01:02:16.460 was telling his friend that wanted to go on vacation, yeah, masks don't do anything,
01:02:20.920 while the same week he was telling everyone to wear masks.
01:02:23.560 Or he would say, you know, when you wear a mask, actually, it could be worse because you touch
01:02:27.220 your face more.
01:02:28.320 But then he'll also tell them to double mask.
01:02:30.460 Or he'll say just, we covered it on my show a day or two ago, you know, thanks for Halloween.
01:02:35.640 You should get out there.
01:02:36.820 And, you know, it should be a time to talk about COVID.
01:02:38.940 So I guess we're allowed to touch candy from all the strangers and be out there.
01:02:42.500 But then we'll think about what you can do for Christmas.
01:02:45.380 So this has all been screwy.
01:02:46.440 But, you know, I don't know that your radio audience isn't gonna be able to see this.
01:02:49.280 Megan, did they send you one of these?
01:02:50.560 Because, you know what, they reached out to my people and we did not accept that.
01:02:55.400 Yeah.
01:02:56.340 Dave is holding a huge Fauci, Disney slash Nat Geo.
01:03:01.540 It's basically a swag bag.
01:03:03.260 It's a box for people to watch Fauci and promote it.
01:03:07.080 And Megan, you're not going to believe what's in here.
01:03:09.560 I unbox this thing.
01:03:10.660 People love unboxing on YouTube.
01:03:12.700 Now, one of the things, Megan, you know, is that obesity and being overweight and diabetic is one of the prime comorbidities with COVID.
01:03:21.000 Yet that didn't stop them from sending a big box of candy from Dylan's Candy Bar.
01:03:26.780 Look at this.
01:03:27.340 You got your gummy bears.
01:03:28.940 Yeah, there we go.
01:03:31.200 We're in the light there.
01:03:32.280 We got your.
01:03:33.280 Oh, it's a penabole of color.
01:03:35.120 Sugar.
01:03:36.300 Yeah.
01:03:36.620 Sour Patch Kids, all of it.
01:03:37.880 Then, of course, you've got your Fauci mask because you have to have a Fauci mask.
01:03:41.360 This is my personal favorite one.
01:03:43.140 And I'm going to send this one to you, Megan.
01:03:45.300 The Fauci fanny pack.
01:03:47.120 Would you wear that?
01:03:48.220 Come on.
01:03:48.560 I don't need Fauci on my fanny.
01:03:50.060 No, thank you.
01:03:50.940 Well, let me tell you this.
01:03:52.280 My team's right up with this.
01:03:53.980 It doesn't stop.
01:03:55.140 Oh, my gosh.
01:03:56.140 And no membership to SoulCycle.
01:03:58.140 At the onset of the documentary, they feature criticism of Fauci, almost exclusively from Fox News.
01:04:06.800 And Fauci makes a snarky remark.
01:04:09.220 Quote, I represent something that's uncomfortable to them.
01:04:13.080 It's called truth.
01:04:15.760 I mean, the unwillingness of people to challenge.
01:04:19.640 Now, I guess the film does make comment.
01:04:21.780 How could they not on his most public reversal on you don't need a mask?
01:04:25.960 And then, oh, yes, you do need to mask, which his noble lie to protect us from ourselves because he wanted us not to buy the equipment and keep it for the medical person personnel.
01:04:36.400 He didn't believe that we could understand that and follow it.
01:04:39.040 But not only that, but he's lied about, you know, the numbers on herd immunity.
01:04:41.820 And he's admitted to that.
01:04:42.760 It wasn't like an evolving.
01:04:43.860 Wait, it wasn't 70 percent.
01:04:45.020 Maybe it's 80.
01:04:45.660 It's 80.
01:04:46.300 I'm sorry.
01:04:46.740 I was wrong about 70.
01:04:47.600 Now it's 80.
01:04:48.200 Now it's 85.
01:04:48.760 Now it's 90.
01:04:49.400 He admitted to The New York Times.
01:04:50.560 I nudged it.
01:04:51.500 As soon as I saw that attitudes were changing a little on it, I knew I could nudge it up a little bit more.
01:04:55.620 I could nudge it up more.
01:04:57.060 Is that honest?
01:04:58.260 His his story to Rand Paul about no gain of function research being performed that was funded by his group.
01:05:05.200 One hundred percent was.
01:05:06.540 And that's been really proven by this point.
01:05:09.220 And on and on it goes.
01:05:10.500 But for some reason, he's he's their man.
01:05:13.080 He's their action figure.
01:05:14.440 And it's the same thing that makes them put him on their mask.
01:05:17.240 And now on their fanny is the thing that makes my kid have to wear a mask in school, even though there's no science to support it.
01:05:24.000 No science to support it, period.
01:05:26.360 And again, there's great through lines at the show today, Megan.
01:05:28.640 Your guys did a great job because, again, this is like how long will we all participate in the lie?
01:05:34.200 How long can people, the expert class, get so many things wrong?
01:05:39.100 By the way, I'm willing to allow people to get things wrong.
01:05:41.820 I get things wrong.
01:05:42.620 You get things wrong.
01:05:43.340 But how long can they completely flip flop on every big thing and just move the goalposts?
01:05:48.420 Remember two weeks to flatten the curve.
01:05:50.040 Why don't we even talk about that?
01:05:51.200 What happened to the curve?
01:05:52.640 What happened to the curve?
01:05:53.960 We're almost two years later.
01:05:55.560 And then we used to talk about herd immunity.
01:05:58.120 Notice we don't talk about that anymore because now it's what Biden said.
01:06:01.880 Ninety eight percent of Americans will have to be vaccinated.
01:06:05.860 And he also said that once you get vaccinated, you can take your mask off and do whatever you want.
01:06:09.960 But then it turned out, oh, you can't do that because now vaccinated.
01:06:13.340 People are getting it.
01:06:14.300 I know several people.
01:06:15.160 I have two cousins right now with COVID.
01:06:16.860 They just got it yesterday who are not politically aligned with me.
01:06:21.180 They are big lefties, COVID people, mask people, vaccinated people.
01:06:26.360 And they both have COVID now.
01:06:28.500 And a lot of people that I know in the last two months, almost everyone that I know in the last,
01:06:33.500 say, two or three months that has gotten COVID has been vaccinated.
01:06:37.100 I don't know anyone unvaxed that's got COVID.
01:06:39.160 That's not I'm not giving a scientific study right there.
01:06:42.160 But I do think our what we know in our personal lives has some value.
01:06:46.240 And everything is up for debate right now.
01:06:48.700 But we're seemingly not allowed to talk about these things.
01:06:51.260 Yeah.
01:06:51.620 Yeah.
01:06:51.860 And that's why people who are young and healthy and already have a minuscule risk of death or
01:06:55.500 hospitalization from COVID.
01:06:57.300 A lot of them are skeptical of getting the vaccines.
01:06:59.380 Like, why?
01:06:59.960 So it's you know, I I've got some hesitancy maybe around vaccines.
01:07:03.600 I don't feel like I need it.
01:07:04.540 I feel like if I get this, it's going to be like a small virus, a flu like thing.
01:07:07.500 I'll get past it and I'll have natural immunity.
01:07:09.160 And that's that.
01:07:09.920 And that used to be a personal OK choice in this country until now, as it's crazy.
01:07:15.780 There's so much more to go over.
01:07:17.020 I definitely want to ask you about Katie Couric covering for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, covering
01:07:20.740 for her.
01:07:21.320 Right.
01:07:21.620 She's covering for her because Ruth Bader Ginsburg wasn't a big fan of Colin Kaepernick's
01:07:26.320 behavior.
01:07:26.920 We'll bring that story and much, much more next because Dave Rubin is sticking around.
01:07:35.420 So Katie Couric is trying to get everybody to buy this memoir she has coming out and
01:07:40.200 has strategically, I'm sure, leaked tidbits all along.
01:07:43.960 I don't I don't know how high the interest is in Katie's backstory, but we'll find out.
01:07:49.280 And but one of the things that's making news now speaks to some media bias, I think.
01:07:54.660 And it is an admission by her that in her 2016 sit down with RBG, that Ginsburg responded
01:08:01.820 negatively when she was asked about people who kneel for the national anthem as a protest
01:08:06.660 against racism that she was asked about specifically former 49ers quarterback Colin
01:08:12.880 Kaepernick.
01:08:14.140 And this is RBG, according to Katie Couric.
01:08:16.760 Would I arrest them for doing it?
01:08:18.180 No, I think it's dumb and disrespectful.
01:08:20.900 I'd have the same answer if you asked me about flag burning.
01:08:23.640 I think it's a terrible thing to do, but I wouldn't lock a person up for doing it.
01:08:27.180 I would point out how ridiculous it seems to me to do such an act.
01:08:31.520 And then she continued.
01:08:33.080 Such protests showed, quote, contempt for a government that has made it possible for
01:08:37.700 their parents and grandparents to live a decent life, which they probably could not have lived
01:08:42.300 in the places they came from.
01:08:44.080 As they became older, they realized that this was youthful folly.
01:08:49.460 So Couric says the day after the head of public affairs for the Supreme Court emailed her to say
01:08:54.020 that a late justice had, quote, misspoken, asking for it to be removed from the story.
01:08:59.660 She called David Brooks of The New York Times, who was a pal.
01:09:01.840 He said she probably didn't understand the question.
01:09:05.240 David Weston, former head of ABC, said you should keep it in.
01:09:08.720 She decided to keep it in because she, quote, wanted to protect Ginsburg and felt the issue
01:09:14.400 of racial justice was, quote, a blind spot for her.
01:09:19.200 So fascinating.
01:09:20.320 I don't remember the instinct to, quote, protect Sarah Palin on her, quote, blind spots.
01:09:27.400 Megan, this this should be the story of the week.
01:09:29.980 This is by far the story of the week, not exactly because of what she said, but because of the
01:09:36.280 totality of it, that it talks about how the media and politicians and in this case, you know,
01:09:41.560 the Supreme Court PR person, how they craft a story, not give us the truth.
01:09:46.640 What you just read there from R.G.B. was perfectly eloquent and perfectly honest.
01:09:51.480 And actually, I agree with every word of it.
01:09:52.940 And by the way, that orange guy, remember, we had that orange president with the funny
01:09:56.340 hair. It's kind of what he said, too, about it.
01:09:58.860 Yeah, he said it in a little more of a gruff manner, but it's kind of what he said.
01:10:02.260 Right. Like he wasn't trying to take Kaepernick to jail, but he was trying to say, you know,
01:10:06.220 maybe you could be a little more respectful of this.
01:10:07.740 It's pretty good here in this country.
01:10:09.000 But without making it about Trump, the idea that David Brooks from The New York Times
01:10:15.240 would say, oh, you know, in essence, oh, she's incapacitated.
01:10:18.520 She doesn't know what she's saying.
01:10:19.740 She was sitting on the Supreme Court.
01:10:21.940 Exactly.
01:10:22.820 She we are told now every every, you know, genderless lefty has a shirt, has an R.G.B.
01:10:28.400 shirt. Right.
01:10:28.920 She is the hero of the progressives.
01:10:30.700 And yet what did she say just a mere five years ago?
01:10:33.480 What she said there, in essence, is the conservative message.
01:10:36.480 It's the message that America is pretty good and, you know, maybe we can fix some things
01:10:40.460 on the margins, but you should try to be respectful of the flag and blah, blah, blah.
01:10:43.560 We shouldn't be burning everything down.
01:10:44.920 So this is I think this is the story of the week because it shows it's just another moment
01:10:50.400 where the curtain is pulled back and we're looking at that wizard and man, we thought
01:10:55.360 he was big and had a big green head and fire blowing.
01:10:58.500 And what he really is, is this sad old man.
01:11:01.800 And and that's where we're at in democracy right now.
01:11:04.800 And people need to understand that.
01:11:06.600 Don't just pick up the paper.
01:11:09.060 I mean, Megan, you know this more than anybody.
01:11:10.740 Don't just watch cable news or pick up the paper.
01:11:13.900 And because they say something, think it's real.
01:11:16.580 You've got to understand the PR angles that they go through.
01:11:19.160 You've got to understand the access that they get to to certain politicians and certain narratives
01:11:23.940 and everything else.
01:11:24.660 I think the story is just huge because it's just a perfect example of everything else that
01:11:28.580 we've been talking about here.
01:11:29.560 I have my own question about it, too, which is, was it really an attempt to protect her
01:11:34.800 from blowback or was it an attempt to prevent a really important, persuasive voice on this
01:11:42.720 issue from perhaps carrying sway on this national debate?
01:11:48.840 Megan, what did I say before about if you believe in ideology over truth, what you will do?
01:11:53.440 This is the exact version of that, right?
01:11:56.060 That obviously what Katie Couric didn't want to get across is the message that, say, the
01:12:01.300 scary Republicans were saying what David Brooks didn't want to get across.
01:12:05.820 And we know how corrupt The New York Times is.
01:12:07.480 It's like they have an ideology and they wanted it to fit.
01:12:10.780 So it's not that she's incapacitated or doesn't know, didn't know what she was talking about
01:12:15.180 or anything like that.
01:12:16.120 They did not want that persuasive message getting out because they wanted to frame it as this
01:12:20.900 is Trump versus a black man.
01:12:23.200 That was how it had to be framed to fit the simplicity of the media narrative.
01:12:28.160 That's so right.
01:12:29.680 Oh, my gosh, that was well put.
01:12:32.020 You're 100 percent right, because I just feel like I get one.
01:12:34.700 I get one per week.
01:12:37.060 Many more.
01:12:37.740 I'm a big fan of your shows and I listen to them all the time often when I'm doing my
01:12:40.920 makeup.
01:12:41.680 But anyway, that that is disturbing.
01:12:43.660 And I do I do think I understand what the Supreme Court press office calls you and asks
01:12:47.140 you, you know, for a solid you're in a tough position as a journalist.
01:12:49.860 I will admit that I covered the Supreme Court for three years for Fox and they don't give
01:12:53.320 a lot of access.
01:12:54.560 But she didn't need ongoing access to RBG or the other justices and would have been well
01:13:00.060 within her journalistic rights to say, I understand, but it was on camera and she's a sitting
01:13:04.860 associate justice at the Supreme Court.
01:13:06.500 So I've got to use it.
01:13:07.740 And they would have respected that they wouldn't have banned Katie Couric forevermore.
01:13:11.900 OK, moving on.
01:13:12.640 Speaking of Orange Man, Orange Man, he may be bad in the eyes of the media, but he's not
01:13:17.360 so bad in the eyes of Republican voters, because the last poll, the most recent poll to come
01:13:22.820 out, Morning Consult Politico says if the 2024 Republican presidential primary were being
01:13:27.600 held today, for whom would you vote?
01:13:29.480 And it's Donald Trump, 47 percent and nobody else is even on the radar.
01:13:35.340 The next closest Pence and DeSantis are tied at 12 percent each.
01:13:39.880 Donald Trump Jr.
01:13:41.200 comes in fourth at six percent.
01:13:43.820 Nikki Haley, she gets a lot of play in the press.
01:13:45.600 Three percent.
01:13:46.600 Tim Scott, he gets a lot of play.
01:13:49.120 One percent.
01:13:50.620 Mike Pompeo, zero percent.
01:13:53.960 I mean, it's it's still Trump's party.
01:13:57.660 Oh, it's Trump's party.
01:13:58.560 And that that poll actually does not shock me.
01:14:01.480 Who can still bring out the rallies?
01:14:04.240 Who does the base still love?
01:14:06.320 Who is still fighting the machine, even though he's not on social media and he's just got
01:14:10.540 these silly press releases and everything else?
01:14:12.340 It's still Trump.
01:14:13.720 You know, Megan, you know, I didn't vote for Trump the first time around.
01:14:15.980 I did vote for him the second time around in a weird way.
01:14:19.440 I'm more proud that I voted for him now than even when I voted for him, because look how
01:14:23.640 horrible everything is.
01:14:24.900 It didn't mean he was perfect.
01:14:27.060 Obviously, obviously, like everyone has to qualify every time you say that.
01:14:30.460 Obviously, he wasn't perfect.
01:14:31.540 Obviously, I wish the Twitter thing had been a little different and he would have had better
01:14:34.740 people around him and everything else.
01:14:36.020 But he was keeping the wheels on the on the car as we were veering off the road.
01:14:41.040 And now we're like basically heading towards a ditch.
01:14:43.640 What I would prefer to happen rather than Trump, who also I think he's 76 or 77 years
01:14:48.520 old.
01:14:48.740 It's like we've got to shift away from the the the baby boomer crew.
01:14:53.100 We need a younger crew.
01:14:54.220 What I would prefer to happen is that Trump acts as the advocate.
01:14:57.660 Keep doing the rallies.
01:14:59.140 Keep fighting the media.
01:15:00.200 Keep doing all the dirty work.
01:15:01.680 Be the bodyguard.
01:15:02.840 So that, say, a DeSantis Tim Scott ticket maybe could get through.
01:15:07.740 Let DeSantis, who I think is 43 years old.
01:15:10.600 He's done an incredible job in Florida.
01:15:12.840 He's willing to fight.
01:15:14.300 But let Trump do the dirty work.
01:15:15.980 Let him take the hits from the media.
01:15:18.000 Let him draw the people to the rallies and go be the statesman, DeSantis.
01:15:22.340 I know Florida wouldn't be happy.
01:15:23.340 That doesn't sound like Trump.
01:15:25.220 That doesn't sound like Trump.
01:15:27.700 I know.
01:15:28.120 So so, hey, Don, if you watch Megyn Kelly's show, and I have no doubt that you do, my
01:15:33.500 personal message to you is think about putting your ego in check for the first time in your
01:15:38.480 life, not because you're not right about a lot of this stuff, but because for the health
01:15:43.380 of the country and for a true healing, not the way Biden said healing, which was this fake healing
01:15:50.300 and where they really wanted you to heal like a dog, but for a true way to move forward.
01:15:54.460 That was a second one.
01:15:55.660 Yes.
01:15:56.700 I got two.
01:15:57.640 All right.
01:15:58.560 I'm taking tomorrow off.
01:16:01.300 That's the way we can do it.
01:16:02.740 That's the way we can do it.
01:16:03.840 You would get a look and DeSantis will be treated horribly, of course, and all of the things that
01:16:07.940 they said about they'll call him a white supremacist and they'll call Tim Scott a white supremacist,
01:16:11.420 by the way, as they did with my friend Larry Elder.
01:16:13.540 They'll do all of the tricks no matter what.
01:16:15.520 But Trump could be the bodyguard.
01:16:18.100 It would be the first time in his life that he would take that that thing, say, hey, spotlight
01:16:22.740 not totally on me.
01:16:24.280 And let me see if I can do something a little bigger than me.
01:16:27.440 I don't know that he can do it.
01:16:28.480 But that to me, that makes so much sense if we're going to get this thing right again.
01:16:32.340 The thing is, it's like so there was just recently a poll that 44 percent of Biden's
01:16:36.360 voters were voting against Trump.
01:16:38.220 They weren't.
01:16:39.060 You'll be shocked to learn they weren't inspired by basements, by I mean, by basements, by Biden's
01:16:43.880 campaign.
01:16:45.340 I actually call it.
01:16:46.520 Oh, that's usually that inspiring either.
01:16:48.580 President Joe Baseman.
01:16:49.960 It's not bad.
01:16:51.140 Yeah.
01:16:52.480 Anyway, so 44 percent.
01:16:55.040 So if you remove Trump from the equation, you could make the argument that those are gettable
01:16:58.400 voters by a Republican.
01:17:00.200 But the truth is, a lot of the people who did vote for Trump aren't inspired by the Republican
01:17:04.860 Party in general and might not show up at all.
01:17:07.940 They might not like DeSantis.
01:17:09.140 They may not feel motivated by him in the way that Trump had this special relationship with
01:17:13.240 people to make them feel.
01:17:14.660 So I'm not sure.
01:17:15.920 I will say this.
01:17:17.100 Because if Biden lives up to the one term promise and Kamala Harris is the nominee, I think even
01:17:23.240 zero percent Pompeo would probably sail in.
01:17:25.760 I mean, I.
01:17:27.420 Right.
01:17:28.400 And that brings us.
01:17:29.600 She's so deeply.
01:17:30.960 Yeah.
01:17:31.560 She's so deeply unlikable.
01:17:33.000 She's so inauthentic.
01:17:34.640 You know, she polled, by the way, at zero within her own party when she was running,
01:17:40.020 when she stepped down and then they chose her basically to be Biden, Biden's successor.
01:17:45.120 So I agree.
01:17:46.080 Almost any Republican, hopefully.
01:17:48.120 But, you know, the media is so crazy and what they do to destroy people.
01:17:52.260 You know how active I was in the California recall here.
01:17:55.220 And what I saw the machine do to my friend who is a good man, Larry Elder, what I saw when
01:18:01.060 Obama cut that video and Biden came here the day before the recall election and said that
01:18:07.280 Larry Elder, he would not say his name, but he kept saying Larry Elder is a Trump clone.
01:18:11.180 Larry Elder, who is the son of a janitor who was born in South Central L.A., basically in
01:18:16.380 poverty, who became such an incredible, decent human being, the way the machine treated him
01:18:21.880 L.A.
01:18:22.260 Times, he's the black face of white supremacy.
01:18:24.920 You know, it's like that's why the Trump thing still has energy.
01:18:27.960 It's because he's willing to fight that thing in the dirtiest possible way.
01:18:32.420 And it's like, is DeSantis willing to do it?
01:18:34.220 I suspect not.
01:18:35.360 That's why Trump as the bodyguard.
01:18:37.280 It just makes so much sense to me.
01:18:39.760 Well, that's and the other thing is, you think about what they did to Larry Elder and, you
01:18:44.140 know, a former girlfriend came out and said, oh, he you know, he took a gun out of a drawer
01:18:49.140 and like loaded it in front of me and then put it away.
01:18:51.820 And she found that abusive and so on.
01:18:54.420 They put that everywhere.
01:18:55.480 They they completely believed everything she said.
01:18:57.860 They promoted the hell out of it to make Larry Elder into this abuser.
01:19:01.640 And yet, what do they do with the Joe Biden, Tara Reid story?
01:19:04.840 They killed Tara Reid.
01:19:06.120 They completely completely tried to cut to the extent they covered it at all.
01:19:10.020 It was to say she's a liar.
01:19:11.800 She didn't pay her bill.
01:19:13.020 She's been a bankrupt.
01:19:14.200 Tara Reid is poor.
01:19:15.100 It's true.
01:19:15.640 Doesn't mean she's necessarily a liar.
01:19:17.700 We as journalists need to push past that.
01:19:19.580 Then they went back to her college, started looking at her credits.
01:19:22.720 It's all these stories that ultimately still have problems.
01:19:26.140 I have to say that a lot of the stories have been torn apart by Ryan Grimm, who stayed on
01:19:30.200 it.
01:19:30.680 But anyway, they're so hypocritical.
01:19:33.140 And, you know, if this had been done to a black Democrat, as opposed to, you know, running
01:19:37.360 in Mississippi, as opposed to a black Republican like Larry Elder running in California, they
01:19:41.940 would have been screaming the R word from the highest rooftops.
01:19:45.660 So what that begs the question then is, so what is a better candidate?
01:19:51.880 Is it a better person on paper who is statesmanlike and younger and it's fighting for what I think
01:19:57.220 are basically the right things, say Ron DeSantis?
01:20:00.080 Or is it the guy that will do all of the dirty work to win?
01:20:05.040 That's an interesting philosophical and tactical question.
01:20:08.360 That's why I'd like to see some sort of, you know, alignment of those two.
01:20:12.340 So can it happen?
01:20:13.780 I have no idea.
01:20:14.400 But but that's the question that everyone has to think about.
01:20:16.860 It's like, OK, everything that you just said right there is true.
01:20:19.640 So is DeSantis going to be willing to do all of the horrible things?
01:20:24.320 We know Trump will.
01:20:25.260 But by the way, Trump Trump did all the horrible things last time, including bringing the
01:20:28.660 you know, the accused rape victims of Bill Clinton to the debates the time before and
01:20:32.560 all the stuff with Biden.
01:20:34.260 But he lost last time.
01:20:35.580 So, you know, it doesn't mean you're going to automatically win either.
01:20:39.220 Wait a minute.
01:20:39.460 But that was wait.
01:20:40.920 He brought the Trump or the Biden.
01:20:43.580 He brought the Bill Clinton accusers in 2016 after the Access Hollywood tape broke.
01:20:49.480 Did he also bring Biden accusers to a debate with Biden?
01:20:53.580 I don't think he brought Biden.
01:20:55.740 He didn't bring Tara Reade.
01:20:56.940 I think she's.
01:20:57.540 Yeah, no, he definitely did bring Tara Reade.
01:20:59.280 But my point is he would have had like a parade of children there.
01:21:01.780 Stop.
01:21:02.360 OK, yeah.
01:21:03.020 OK, I'm confused.
01:21:04.680 Sorry.
01:21:05.420 Smells so good.
01:21:06.140 The hair, the hair, the hair, Kamala Harris, Kamala Harris.
01:21:10.600 I didn't I was like, what is she doing?
01:21:12.680 I don't know.
01:21:13.240 They're trying to like rehab her, I guess, in advance of her her run.
01:21:17.320 And I don't know that this woman as a politician is rehabbable.
01:21:21.720 I really don't.
01:21:22.260 She's just it's really like watching Veep.
01:21:24.300 So she is there's something.
01:21:28.160 But the company is called Sinking Ship Entertainment that produced this.
01:21:34.100 It's the first in a YouTube original series called Get Curious with Vice President Harris.
01:21:39.400 It features her speaking with several young, quote, students about the wonders of space
01:21:43.840 exploration and science.
01:21:45.360 There's a guest star appearance by Demi Lovato.
01:21:47.620 No, no, no.
01:21:50.840 And we have a little a little clip of it cut before you watch it.
01:21:57.380 Understand that the children you were looking at turns out are not organic children.
01:22:02.040 They're not children just plucked off the street who love Kamala Harris or want to speak to the
01:22:05.860 vice president.
01:22:06.780 Apparently they couldn't find any of those.
01:22:08.680 So they hired actors.
01:22:10.320 It was cast.
01:22:11.640 Watch.
01:22:11.900 I just love the idea of exploring the unknown.
01:22:16.800 And then there's other things that we just haven't figured out or discovered yet.
01:22:20.320 To think about so much that's out there that we still have to learn.
01:22:25.540 Like, I love that.
01:22:26.860 I love that.
01:22:27.580 You guys are going to see.
01:22:29.480 You're going to literally see the craters on the moon with your own eyes.
01:22:34.360 Oh my goodness.
01:22:35.220 With your own eyes.
01:22:36.740 I'm telling you, it is going to be unbelievable.
01:22:40.220 Well, wait till I see the moon.
01:22:41.420 I'm telling you, I just, I don't know what it is about those craters on the moon.
01:22:46.060 You always dream with ambition.
01:22:49.240 Have big dreams.
01:22:50.880 You'll remember that?
01:22:51.720 Yes.
01:22:52.240 All right.
01:22:52.600 See you later.
01:22:53.480 OMG.
01:22:54.380 Oh my God.
01:22:55.640 I, to you, I'm going to ask you what your favorite part is.
01:22:59.080 And by that, I mean least favorite.
01:23:00.280 For me, it was with your eyes, with your own eyes.
01:23:04.960 That is how you speak to a baby in the crib.
01:23:07.920 Maybe Max too.
01:23:09.280 Abby, your kids are younger than mine.
01:23:10.440 What, what age do we stop doing?
01:23:11.980 Eyes here though.
01:23:13.100 18 months.
01:23:13.820 18 months.
01:23:14.540 Yes.
01:23:14.900 It is not children who can speak and sit on a sofa and go to high school or middle school.
01:23:20.360 She's just so fake.
01:23:22.080 Megan, I actually totally want to defer to you on this one because I don't have kids yet.
01:23:25.900 As you know, we're working on it, but you have children and I suspect, but please correct me if
01:23:30.300 I'm wrong, that if there was a parent that acted like that, the mother, you know, you got the 10
01:23:35.060 mothers that the kids are all friends and you all send them to different houses, do different
01:23:38.040 things.
01:23:38.420 If there was one mother that sort of acted like that all the time, you'd kind of be like, yeah,
01:23:43.160 that's the crazy one.
01:23:44.240 Am I right?
01:23:44.800 Oh, I'd be like, I'd be like sister roll back on the sangria in the coffee cup.
01:23:49.300 We can tell.
01:23:51.800 It's those white wine spritzers in the suburbs.
01:23:53.940 Oh, M.G.
01:23:55.340 We've had private conversations about those and they can lead to bad places.
01:23:59.420 I I don't to me, it is indicative because she can't even fake it.
01:24:04.700 And she's tried to fake her affability.
01:24:07.540 And I realize that women, they often get pinged for this, like she's not likable.
01:24:12.420 She's not relatable.
01:24:13.240 Those can be sexist codes.
01:24:14.760 I have seen that in the past.
01:24:16.060 I got to say, in this case, I think it's just true.
01:24:18.580 I just think she is not relatable.
01:24:20.540 She is very clearly fake.
01:24:22.400 Look, I said it all throughout the campaign.
01:24:25.120 Who was more genuine and authentic?
01:24:28.500 Was it the orange person with the crazy hair plugs or was it any of the Democrats?
01:24:33.540 Now, I'll give Bernie.
01:24:34.500 I do not like it all, but I'll give Bernie credit.
01:24:36.280 Bernie's authentically an old, bitter, angry socialist.
01:24:39.520 That's Bernie.
01:24:40.200 I believe that.
01:24:40.980 That is Bernie.
01:24:41.620 Or even take a female politician, Madeleine Albright.
01:24:44.140 You know, she was totally, totally real.
01:24:46.600 Margaret Thatcher.
01:24:47.480 She never tried to hide who she was.
01:24:49.500 That is what we're seeing here.
01:24:50.840 Sorry, keep going.
01:24:51.460 No, you're exactly right, though.
01:24:53.560 Those are two great examples.
01:24:54.840 It has nothing to do with gender, obviously.
01:24:56.640 But Margaret Thatcher obviously was Margaret Thatcher.
01:24:59.640 It's pretty clear, right?
01:25:00.740 But if you take any of those people that ran as Democrats, Elizabeth Warren, I'm going to
01:25:04.900 get me a beer, who also pretended she was Native American to get a job.
01:25:08.640 If you take if you take Kamala Harris, if you take literally any of the others, Pete
01:25:14.620 Buttigieg, who was basically just doing a Barack Obama impression the entire time.
01:25:18.800 It's like, who actually do you think you understand more?
01:25:22.580 Is it the orange guy or is it these people?
01:25:25.060 But Kamala, you're right.
01:25:26.200 She they had to hire actors as children actors for her to talk to children.
01:25:31.720 It's like something.
01:25:33.280 Apparently there's like somebody sort of got the story of the kids afterward being like
01:25:37.500 telling a story about how when their agent called them after the audition, they're like,
01:25:40.480 you landed it, you know, there's nothing real about that video.
01:25:45.820 Tucker apparently said Harris is so phony.
01:25:48.500 She leaves people, quote, pining for the authentic maternal warmth of Hillary Clinton.
01:25:53.100 Oh, my God.
01:25:53.880 Craters, craters with your own eyes, Megan.
01:25:56.500 It's incredible.
01:25:57.660 This has been so fun.
01:25:59.080 Good luck on everything.
01:26:00.420 I know you are thinking about exiting that city, and I think that would be wonderful.
01:26:04.980 But I hope you get good news on the surrogacy front before any of that happens, because
01:26:09.940 people like you need to be reproduced and I need to see that and be a part of it.
01:26:13.940 Not not not in the intimate way.
01:26:15.240 I'm too old for that shit, but I want to root you on you.
01:26:18.260 You are truly the best.
01:26:19.720 I've met a lot of people that I once admired before I was doing this game, but you really
01:26:23.460 are just the best of the best and the real deal.
01:26:25.720 And what people see and hear is exactly who you are.
01:26:28.380 And anytime you ever want to do anything, you know where I am.
01:26:31.160 Oh, thanks, Dave.
01:26:32.020 Come back soon, would you?
01:26:34.020 Anytime.
01:26:34.380 Don't forget to listen tomorrow because we've got Jordan Belfort, the Wolf of Wall Street.
01:26:40.520 This is going to be fun.
01:26:41.880 See you then.
