The Megyn Kelly Show - Domestic Terrorism Targeting Tesla, Trump Cracking Down on Title IX Violations： AM Update 3⧸20

00:00:00.000 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megan Kelly. It's Thursday, March 20th, 2025, and this is your

00:00:08.360 AM update. Please don't vandalize. Don't ever vandalize Tesla vehicles. And so high profile

00:00:17.480 Democrats egg on anti Tesla behavior as acts of vandalism against the electric car company

00:00:23.580 sweep the nation. The battle to deport Columbia University student agitator Mahmoud Khalil

00:00:29.140 finds a venue for its court fight. Multiple teachers all came into the girls' locker room 1.00

00:00:34.660 making them change into uniform. A mom files a civil rights complaint on behalf of her 13-year-old

00:00:41.420 daughter, allegedly forced to change in front of a biological male at school. And Senate Majority

00:00:47.580 Leader Chuck Schumer is in hot water. All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.

00:00:54.460 Aren't you tired of the corporate media prioritizing certain narratives over the facts?

00:00:58.600 I was too, and that's why we started this show, to have real conversations full of tough questions

00:01:53.820 The DOJ investigating increased attacks on Tesla dealerships, charging stations, and vehicles as

00:02:00.900 acts of domestic terrorism. Attorney General Pam Bondi releasing a statement on Tuesday reading in

00:02:06.440 part, quote, the DOJ has already charged several perpetrators with that, meaning terror, in mind,

00:02:12.900 including in cases that involve charges with five-year mandatory minimum sentences. Since Doge,

00:02:19.260 unofficially headed by Elon Musk, began slashing waste, fraud, and abuse, the car company also owned

00:02:25.420 by Musk, now the target of waves of vandalism. Musk responding to the attacks on Tuesday night.

00:02:32.260 Tesla is a peaceful company. We've never done anything harmful. I've never done anything

00:02:36.780 harmful. I've only done productive things. There's some kind of mental illness thing going

00:02:40.780 on here because this doesn't make any sense. I think there are larger forces at work as well.

00:02:44.440 I mean, I don't know who's funding it and who's coordinating it. The reason we're seeing this

00:02:47.720 extreme amount of hatred and violence is because we're actually succeeding in getting rid of corruption

00:02:53.820 and waste. If we weren't succeeding in getting rid of corruption and waste, they wouldn't care.

00:02:58.120 On Tuesday in Las Vegas, at least five vehicles destroyed by fire, with at least three rounds

00:03:04.060 fired at a Tesla store. The assailant spray-painting the word resist in red across the storefront.

00:03:10.840 Last month, a transgender activist, Lucy Grace Nelson, a biological male, arrested on charges of

00:03:17.220 malicious destruction of property. Nelson accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at vehicles at a

00:03:23.080 Colorado Tesla dealership and spray-painting Nazi cars on the building. Similar attacks reported

00:03:30.160 across at least 10 states and in other countries like England and Germany. The acts of vandalism

00:03:35.940 sarcastically condemned by ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

00:03:40.360 Tesla stock is way down, almost disastrously so. People have been vandalizing Tesla vehicles,

00:03:51.480 new Tesla vehicles. Please don't vandalize, don't ever vandalize Tesla vehicles. And so...

00:03:58.520 A group called DogeQuest publishing a website earlier this week showing not just the locations

00:04:05.740 of dealerships and charging stations, but also exposing personal information of Tesla owners.

00:04:11.200 The site stating,

00:04:12.780 At DogeQuest, we believe in empowering creative expressions of protest that you can execute from

00:04:18.400 the comfort of your own home. Users are encouraged to visit a self-described anarchist website,

00:04:25.200 providing guidance on evading detection online. Tesla owners whose personal information is posted to

00:04:31.040 DogeQuest can request removal, but only with proof their vehicle has been sold. Progressive

00:04:37.220 activists without a stomach for online harassment or vandalism are encouraged to rally outside of

00:04:43.040 Tesla facilities. Many of the events coordinated on the progressive platform ActionNetwork.org,

00:04:50.240 the Tesla takedown page of the site, encouraging users to, quote, sell your Teslas, dump your stock,

00:04:57.140 join the picket line. Another reading, quote, we're tanking Tesla's stock price to stop Musk.

00:05:04.020 Tesla stock prices hovering in the low to mid 200s this week, about a 50% drop from the high in

00:05:10.680 December. Former Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz supporting the anti-Tesla

00:05:16.160 campaign at a recent town hall event. Saying on my phone, I don't know, some of you know this on the

00:05:20.660 iPhone, they've got that little stock app. I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day.

00:05:25.620 $225,000 and dropping.

00:05:32.680 Tesla employs more than 120,000 Americans and is one of the most valuable companies in the world,

00:05:40.220 even with the recent drop in stock price.

00:05:46.340 The Manhattan federal judge overseeing the deportation case of Mahmoud Khalil,

00:05:51.280 the former Columbia University agitator, ordering the case moved to New Jersey. Mr. Khalil arrested

00:05:58.280 nearly two weeks ago outside his New York home by Homeland Security agents. Secretary of State

00:06:03.960 Marco Rubio revoking Mr. Khalil's green card, retaliating against his participation in a student

00:06:10.120 group which reportedly sympathizes with Hamas, a U.S.-designated terror organization.

00:06:15.680 Columbia University apartheid divest, a pro-Palestinian group, staged a takeover of Columbia's

00:06:22.700 Hamilton Hall last year, effectively holding two maintenance workers hostage for a time,

00:06:28.640 breaking windows, damaging school property, and disrupting campus life, particularly for Jewish

00:06:34.620 students. The group presented a long list of demands, chiefly Columbia's divestment from all

00:06:40.860 Israeli-linked companies or else. Ultimately, NYPD officers called in, arresting around 300 people.

00:06:49.200 While there's no evidence Mr. Khalil participated in that takeover, he was involved in the creation

00:06:54.940 of a Gaza solidarity encampment on Columbia's campus and acted as the lead negotiator for these

00:07:01.180 groups, attempting to secure their demands with Columbia faculty. Mr. Khalil has been seen on video

00:07:07.400 referring to the October 7th Hamas terror attack in Israel as, quote, armed resistance. Secretary of

00:07:14.460 State Rubio determining Mr. Khalil's activity, quote, would have serious adverse foreign policy

00:07:20.160 consequences for the United States, which under U.S. law is all that's needed to deport a green card 0.97

00:07:27.380 holder. Donna Lieberman, attorney for Mr. Khalil on CNN, framing the arrest as a violation of her

00:07:33.860 client's First Amendment freedom and right to due process. This is all about the First Amendment and

00:07:40.160 it's all about due process. You know, they have, they kidnapped this man, this young student, father

00:07:47.440 to be in any minute now, based on an accusation that he has the wrong political ideas. And it's an attempt

00:07:57.900 to bully the rest of us into being quiet and going with the administration's program. Last I heard,

00:08:04.200 we were a democracy. This attempt to quell free speech is absolutely terrifying. If they can

00:08:10.780 disappear somebody for doing nothing but having ideas that the government disapproves of, it is,

00:08:17.280 it should be terrifying to everybody. On Wednesday, Mr. Khalil penning a letter from his detention center

00:08:23.000 reading in part, quote, my arrest was a direct consequence of exercising my right to free speech

00:08:28.160 as I advocated for a free Palestine. The Trump administration is targeting me as part of a broader

00:08:34.240 strategy to suppress dissent. He also said he's being deported due to, quote, racism. U.S. District

00:08:41.360 Judge Jesse Fuhrman writing in his order, quote, a person challenging his detention is required to file

00:08:47.460 that petition in the federal district where he is detained at the time of filing. Mr. Khalil's lawyers

00:08:54.660 wanted this case to be heard in the very liberal Southern District of New York, where it was as of

00:09:00.500 yesterday. Prosecutors asked for a federal venue in Louisiana, much more conservative. The court finding

00:09:06.800 a middle ground for venue, New Jersey. Khalil was held at a New Jersey detention center at the time his

00:09:12.860 lawyer filed the petition. His next court date is March 27th. Coming up, the Trump administration

00:09:19.720 taking more action over allowing males to participate in female sports divisions. Growing calls from House

00:09:25.840 Democrats demanding Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer step down. All that and more coming up in just a

00:09:31.300 moment. So many people these days are focusing on getting healthy. And speaking of health, let me tell you

00:09:39.120 about Jacob and Kristen, the founders of We Heart Nutrition. They are raising five kids while running

00:10:37.480 The Trump administration announcing a suspension of about $175 million in federal funds for the Ivy

00:10:44.500 League's University of Pennsylvania. UPenn was the home to Leah Thomas, who in 2022 became the first

00:10:51.560 biological male to win a D1 title in a women's division, swimming the 500-yard freestyle. He had

00:10:58.880 been a lackluster swimmer in the men's league. President Trump's executive order protecting women's

00:11:04.220 sports bars biological males from competing in female athletic leagues or from using women's 1.00

00:11:09.620 facilities. The order directs federal agencies to withhold funding from any school violating the

00:11:14.720 policy, reinforcing Title IX protections for women. A UPenn spokesperson responding to the freeze saying,

00:11:21.980 we have been in the past and remain today in full compliance with the regulations that apply to not

00:11:27.400 only Penn, but all of our NCAA and Ivy League peer institutions. Really? An unnamed senior White House

00:11:35.120 official telling CBS Philadelphia the funding cut will come from money the Department of Defense and Health

00:11:42.340 and Human Services had been funneling to UPenn, which received some $1 billion in total federal funding

00:11:48.960 last year, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian, a student newspaper. So this is not a penalty resulting from the

00:11:57.260 Department of Education's probe under Title IX. That investigation appears to be ongoing. The White 0.97

00:12:04.360 House's rapid response account posting the story along with the caption, promises made, promises kept.

00:12:10.580 And speaking of the Department of Health and Human Services, its Civil Rights Office earlier this week

00:12:16.880 finding the main Department of Education, the main Principals Association, and Greeley High School

00:12:23.160 in violation of Title IX. A biological male representing Greeley High School placed first in a state pole vaulting

00:12:30.300 championship on February 17th, a week and a half after President Trump signed the Keeping Men Out of

00:12:36.980 Women's Sports executive order. The biologically male student in question beat the second-place girl 1.00

00:12:43.200 by more than six inches. President Trump putting a national spotlight on the story at a governor's luncheon

00:12:48.800 just days later directly calling out Maine governor, Janet Mills.

00:12:53.140 Is Maine here, the governor of Maine?

00:12:55.940 Are you not going to comply with it?

00:12:58.960 I'm complying with the state and federal laws.

00:13:01.240 Well, we are the federal law.

00:13:03.520 Well, you better do it. You better do it because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't.

00:13:08.440 HHS's Civil Rights Office allowing the main Department of Education, the main Principals Association,

00:13:13.700 Ann Greeley High School, 10 days to comply with President Trump's executive order or risk referral to the DOJ.

00:13:21.840 A mother in Deerfield, Illinois, speaking out against her child's school for alleged Title IX violations as well.

00:13:29.080 Nicole Georges alleges her 13-year-old daughter witnessed a biological male using the female locker room at her middle school.

00:13:35.940 Ms. Georges says her daughter complained to school administrators and was told the student was allowed to use the female facilities

00:13:42.740 because he now identifies as female.

00:13:45.420 Ms. Georges describing what allegedly happened next at a recent school board meeting.

00:13:50.260 A few days later, the male student was present in the girls' locker room.

00:13:55.000 Feeling violated, the girls made the choice to not change into their PE clothes with a biological male student present. 0.64

00:14:01.440 The next day, Assistant Principal Kathy Vantrese pulled the girls into their office questioning them.

00:14:07.540 The same day, Assistant Superintendent Joanna Ford, Kathy Vantrese, and multiple teachers all came into the girls' locker room making them change into uniform. 0.98

00:14:17.920 If that is true, the school may have committed a crime.

00:14:21.660 Ms. Georges stating that the principal offered to switch her daughter into a new PE class, which was rejected.

00:14:27.760 Ms. Georges' remarks at the school board met with boos from local activists.

00:14:33.320 The next speaker in favor of allowing trans students in female spaces making a veiled threat against the school board. 0.71

00:14:40.080 My name is Charlie Friedman.

00:14:41.920 My pronouns are they, he.

00:14:43.500 I am a trans person.

00:14:44.840 I am the parent of a trans middle schooler.

00:14:46.880 I am also the Director of Operations for Trans Upfront.

00:14:50.560 It's a nonprofit organization fighting for trans rights.

00:14:53.720 We partner with over 30 major organizations, including the ACLU, Lambda Legal, HRC, etc.

00:15:00.720 If needed, we'd be happy to dig in to contact our coalition to make sure that the board is supported in doing the right thing for the right reasons and following Illinois state law.

00:15:11.580 Another woman in favor of forcing girls to change in front of biological boys, Jess Holzman, said research shows that middle school girls, quote, do better when boys are allowed to watch them undress in school locker rooms, reports the Lake County Gazette.

00:15:28.860 Ms. Holzman describes herself as a queer, non-binary, consensually non-monogamous, intersectional feminist, anti-racist activist, educator and scholar.

00:15:39.020 Okay.

00:15:39.340 Ms. Georges filed a civil rights complaint with the DOJ on behalf of her minor daughter.

00:15:47.300 Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer facing growing calls to step down from his fellow Democrats in the House.

00:15:54.140 So far, not the Senate.

00:15:55.820 Congressional Democrats outraged with Senator Schumer's handling of the continuing resolution last week.

00:16:00.840 Mr. Schumer voting to advance the GOP bill to the floor, arguing a bad bill is worse than what he thinks Elon Musk and DOJ could do during a government shutdown.

00:16:11.000 House Democrats believe Mr. Schumer should have allowed the government to shut down in order to force some concessions from Republicans.

00:16:18.180 House Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday criticizing Mr. Schumer's decision.

00:16:22.840 I myself don't give away anything for nothing.

00:16:27.800 And I think that's what happened the other day.

00:16:30.980 We could have, in my view, perhaps gotten them to agree to a third way, which was a bipartisan CR for two weeks, two, four weeks, in which we could have had bipartisan legislation to go forward.

00:16:45.700 Axios reporting Wednesday, more calls to resign could follow.

00:16:50.380 One Democrat rep saying, quote, I think there are some already there, but just haven't been asked directly or avoided the question.

00:16:57.520 Senator Schumer, who earlier this week canceled his book tour, citing alleged security concerns, instead making the media rounds, defending his leadership position.

00:17:06.580 I believe so strongly I did the right thing.

00:17:10.260 When I was majority leader and under Biden's presidency, we passed more legislation in 2022 than before.

00:17:17.020 When you're a leader, sometimes you have to do things that you know are right, despite the consequences.

00:17:22.660 I've always said to people in politics, the higher up you climb, the more fierce the winds blow.

00:17:28.520 One of the things I am known to be very good at is how to win Senate seats.

00:17:32.860 Look, winning in 2026 in the House and Senate, which could stop Trump once and for all, is vitally important.

00:17:39.600 A senior House Democrat telling Axios, quote, his popularity is hovering somewhere between Elon Musk and the Ebola virus.

00:17:46.660 Some House members reportedly urging New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to launch a primary bid against Senator Schumer in 2028.

00:17:55.620 Not all House Dems fully soured on Schumer, however.

00:17:58.380 However, Wisconsin Congressman Mark Pocan saying anger toward the minority leader is, quote, a bit of an inside-the-beltway conversation.

00:18:05.920 Mr. Pocan saying his constituents understand Mr. Schumer's position.

00:18:11.560 And that'll do it for your AM Update.
