00:02:07.200 a partial shutdown now dramatically impacting airports across the country. TSA agents are

00:02:13.460 currently not being paid, leading some to call out sick to take other jobs, others outright

00:02:18.800 quitting. The result? Chaos at airports during a busy spring break, with several major airports

00:02:24.800 facing hours-long security lines. Funding for the department lapsing in mid-February thanks to

00:02:30.800 Democrats demanding reforms to ICE and Border Patrol before they will agree to a full funding

00:02:36.300 package. Ironically, ICE and other immigration enforcement is still being funded thanks to the

00:02:54.420 the Coast Guard until an agreement can be reached on ICE and CBP reforms. Republicans so far

00:03:00.240 insisting on full funding for the entire department, triggering another failed Senate

00:03:05.300 vote last week. Sixty votes are required to advance the legislation requiring at least

00:03:10.080 some Democrat support. Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, so far the only Dem to cross

00:03:15.540 party lines and vote to fund DHS. President Trump on Saturday floating a unique potential solution,

00:03:22.200 posting to Truth Social, quote, if the radical left Democrats don't immediately sign an agreement

00:03:26.900 to let our country, in particular our airports, be free and safe again, I will move our brilliant

00:03:32.880 and patriotic ICE agents to the airports where they will do security like no one has ever seen

00:03:38.580 before. Borders are Tom Homan yesterday on CNN confirming plans are underway. Are ICE agents

00:03:45.540 even remotely trained to handle security at airports? ICE agents receive a high level of

00:03:51.940 training. And, you know, ICE agents are assigned at many airports across the country already. They

00:03:57.520 do a lot of investigation, criminal investigation on smuggling at airports. But, you know,

00:04:02.440 You know, there's, I mean, you've got TSA agents covering exits, you know, certainly a highly trained ICE law enforcement officer can cover an exit, makes people don't go through those exits.

00:04:13.360 Stuff like that relieves that TSA officer to go to screening and to reduce those lines.

00:04:19.900 So wherever we can provide extra security, I don't see an ICE agent looking at an x-ray machine because we're not trained in that.

00:06:07.340 I mean, we have the same policies in place we had during Obama and Biden and Clinton and Bush one

00:06:14.380 and Bush, too. So the policies really hasn't changed. It's the execution of those policies

00:06:19.640 that we're talking about. We certainly can't surrender ISIS authorities and their

00:06:26.980 congressionally mandated jobs. So we're having no discussions. Well, but as you know, they want it

00:06:32.000 to be codified, things like agents wearing masks, the ability or the requirement to say who they are

00:06:41.740 and things of that nature.

00:06:44.100 So you're saying that the White House is not open to changing any of that?

00:06:49.520 I'm saying the majority of it is about policy issues.

00:07:53.660 of so many Americans at airports throughout the country. It is unclear if the White House

00:07:58.660 has responded to the extraordinary offer. A 25-year-old man identified by Fox News as an

00:08:06.440 illegal immigrant from Venezuela, arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old

00:08:12.140 Sheridan Gorman in Chicago. Gorman, a first-year student from New York, walking with friends near

00:08:18.380 Loyola Beach around 1 a.m. Thursday, that's about eight miles north of the famous Oak Street Beach

00:08:24.780 near Chicago's Michigan Mile, in a much quieter, more residential area, when a masked gunman

00:08:30.840 approached the group, firing a single shot, striking her in the back for no apparent reason.

00:08:37.480 Gorman, a first-year business student at Loyola University, Chicago, pronounced dead at the scene.

00:09:51.580 according to CWB Chicago. Investigators reportedly recovering a firearm inside the apartment now

00:09:58.180 undergoing ballistics testing to determine whether it was used in the shooting. According to the

00:10:03.320 Chicago Tribune surveillance footage tracking Medina from the scene to the building, police

00:10:08.340 identifying him in part due to what they describe as a distinct limp. DHS revealing he was arrested

00:10:14.440 just one month after entering this country illegally for alleged shoplifting and released

00:10:20.420 on his own recognizance. He later failed to appear in court, leading to an arrest warrant,

00:10:25.780 but was never rearrested. Did they even try? DHS yesterday lodging a detainer request for Medina,

00:10:33.240 requesting that Chicago officials not release him. The Sanctuary City bars cooperation with

00:10:38.800 federal immigration enforcement, specifically barring officials from honoring ICE detainers

00:10:43.420 without a court order. As of now, authorities have not confirmed any motive here, and the

00:19:04.580 those houses. Retired Pima County SWAT commander Bob Krieger telling Parade Magazine that vacant

00:19:10.740 houses can serve as staging locations for bad actors needing to scout an area, allowing them

00:19:16.480 to blend into neighborhoods. In a separate report, Pima County homicide detective Kurt Dabb telling

00:19:22.440 Parade magazine, he believes there may be as many as four accomplices in this case,

00:19:27.940 aiding the masked figure captured on security footage outside of Guthrie's door on the night

00:19:32.560 of the abduction. Meanwhile, the Guthrie family issuing a renewed plea to the community Saturday
