00:00:35.680 It's Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025, and this is your AM Update.

00:00:40.300 The sanctuary cities are now our priority.

00:00:43.040 We're going to flood the zone.

00:00:44.240 Want to have more agents in New York City?

00:00:45.840 Border czar Tom Homan and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem

00:00:49.460 putting New York City Mayor Eric Adams on notice

00:00:52.200 after an illegal immigrant allegedly shoots

00:00:55.200 an off-duty Customs and Border Protection officer in the face. 1.00

00:00:59.060 Fuck him. Fuck him. Fuck him and everybody around him. 1.00

00:01:04.500 I don't have to be fucking nice. 1.00

00:01:06.180 Hunter Biden shreds the Democrat Party in a fiery, foul-mouthed, and bizarre new interview. 0.97

00:01:12.760 And President Trump increases pressure on two sports teams to change back to their original mascots.

00:01:18.280 All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM Update.

00:01:21.440 As President Trump is settling into his new administration,

00:01:27.880 one of the top Democrats in Congress aiming to undermine the Trump agenda

00:01:31.180 is Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois.

00:01:34.400 And according to our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition,

00:01:38.200 Senator Durbin has a new plan, a government takeover of your credit card.

00:01:42.800 Today, Americans have thousands of choices in credit cards,

00:01:45.620 but they say Senator Durbin's plan will result in less competition and less security,

00:01:50.580 which means more risk for your credit and your identity.

00:01:54.220 You can learn more for yourself at guardyourcard.com.

00:01:57.940 And you could consider telling your senators to stop

00:02:00.800 Dick Durbin's government takeover of your credit card before it's too late.

00:02:05.100 Trump administration officials putting New York City Mayor Eric Adams on notice following an attack

00:02:13.160 against an off-duty Customs and Border Protection officer by an illegal immigrant.

00:02:18.720 On Saturday evening, the illegal allegedly shooting the off-duty officer in the face

00:02:23.320 during a robbery in a park along the Hudson River.

00:02:26.820 The 42-year-old officer and a friend reportedly sitting alongside the riverbank

00:02:31.320 when two suspects allegedly approached on a moped.

00:02:35.100 One attacker approaching the pair with a gun.

00:02:37.740 The officer said to have returned fire in self-defense,

00:02:41.220 but not before sustaining a gunshot to the cheek and to the arm.

00:02:45.340 The suspects fleeing the scene on the moped.

00:02:48.160 The officer now in the hospital in stable condition, and both suspects now in custody.

00:02:53.820 Secretary Noem describing the long criminal history of the alleged shooter.

00:02:58.220 One of the suspected attackers, the one that was injured,

00:03:01.640 his name is Miguel Francisco Moro Nunes, a Dominican national that was entering into this country illegally back in 2023.

00:03:10.700 He was then released back into this country by the Biden administration.

00:03:15.180 Miguel Francisco Moro Nunes is and has a rap sheet that is a mile long.

00:03:21.380 He was arrested.

00:03:22.200 He was charged with grand larceny and also assault.

00:03:25.480 The state of Massachusetts has an active warrant out for him for armed robbery with a firearm.

00:03:31.260 He also has many other charges against him, such as kidnapping and witness intimidation. 0.96

00:03:37.840 There's absolutely zero reason that someone who is scum of the earth like this should be running loose on the streets of New York City.

00:03:44.960 He was arrested four different times in New York City and because of the mayor's policies and sanctuary city policies was released back to do harm to people and to individuals living in this city.

00:03:57.300 The alleged accomplice, also an illegal from the Dominican Republic, entering the country in 2022 under the Biden administration and ordered for final removal in 2023.

00:04:08.500 According to Secretary Noem, he also has a criminal record in New York City, including arrests for reckless endangerment and larceny.

00:04:17.400 At the beginning of the second Trump administration, Mayor Adams promising to deepen cooperation with ICE, despite the city's sanctuary status.

00:04:25.840 But the crux of Adams's promise, reopening an ICE office at Rikers Island, was blocked by a state judge in June.

00:04:33.820 NYPD cooperation with ICE is limited now to criminal matters.

00:04:37.720 The police in the city, prevented by city law, from cooperating with federal officials on non-criminal immigration matters.

00:04:45.500 Secretary Noem calling out Mayor Adams.

00:04:48.260 We have spoken with him about the policies before and asked him to change those policies.

00:04:52.380 There's times that the NYPD, and I believe it's still in place, that if one of our officers is in jeopardy, they're still backing us up on that, but not doing operations with us, which does happen in many other cities and other jurisdictions.

00:05:04.840 We wish we had that kind of partnership with Mayor Adams, and I know you guys have got a leadership election in this country or in this city that's going to be happening soon.

00:05:13.540 Boy, start looking at the candidates today and see which one is going to start making this city safer, because you've got a mayor today that could have done better, and could have done better, and maybe he'd have more support today if he had, if he'd have put his people first.

00:05:26.220 The secretary also slamming other city leaders who refuse full ICE cooperation.

00:05:31.640 We look at Mayor Wu in Boston and what has happened there under her watch, what's happened in L.A. with the riots and the violence and the protests that have gone on because of Mayor Bass and what she has perpetuated.

00:05:43.800 When you look at Mayor Johnson in Chicago and how devastating it is to live in that city and some of those poorest communities, how they suffer every single day with the violence that's in front of them, just because these individuals are protecting criminals.

00:05:57.480 They're protecting criminals who go out and murder, rape, rob, they perpetuate violence on our children, they traffic them and drugs, and damage this country every single day under the protection of sanctuary city and governors who put in place these policies that allow them to perpetuate these crimes with no consequences.

00:06:19.160 A visibly angry border czar, Tom Homan, promising the feds will send more resources to New York and other sanctuary cities.

00:06:26.340 The sanctuary cities are now our priority.

00:06:29.620 We're going to flood the zone.

00:06:31.080 You don't want to let us in the jail to arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of a jail.

00:06:35.440 You want to release them into the street, which makes it unsafe for the community, makes it unsafe for the officer, makes it unsafe for the alien. 1.00

00:06:41.860 Can anything happen on the street arrest?

00:06:43.840 So what we're going to do, we'll have more agents in New York City to look for that bad guy.

00:06:47.580 So sanctuary cities get exactly what they don't want, more agents in the community and more agents in the worksite.

00:06:52.600 Mayor Adams running for re-election as an independent at a Monday press conference responding to Secretary Noem saying, don't blame him.

00:07:01.340 I have nothing to do with the rules that are put in place.

00:07:06.440 I just carry out the rules.

00:07:08.480 The rules are if you're in the city of New York, you have a right to services.

00:07:12.600 Go to the hospital, educate your children.

00:07:15.420 You have a right to get police services if need be.

00:07:18.900 When you do an analysis of this case, we arrest people.

00:07:22.560 The courts determine if they're going to stay in jail or not.

00:07:26.540 This person has been part of a revolving door criminal justice system, allowed to get back on the streets.

00:07:33.440 So I am extremely angry that we have a custom Border Patrol officer that is in the hospital because a person that should have not been on our street was on our street.

00:07:45.140 Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and the only candidate who opposes sanctuary cities posting on X, quote,

00:07:52.200 a violent illegal alien may have pulled the trigger, but it was Eric Adams's reckless policies that created the conditions for it to happen.

00:07:59.740 He for sure has blood on his hands.

00:08:02.020 Coming up, Hunter Biden rips George Clooney following the actor's public push to force President Biden out of the 2024 election.

00:08:12.080 And President Trump ramps up a public pressure campaign on two professional sports teams to restore their mascots.

00:09:22.520 Hunter Biden sitting down for a three-hour interview with independent news outlet Channel 5, hosted by Andrew Callahan.

00:09:30.520 The profanity-laden, no-holds-barred interview covered a wide array of topics.

00:09:34.840 Mr. Biden offering his take on George Clooney, who penned an op-ed in the New York Times after President Biden's disastrous debate performance headlined,

00:09:44.120 I love Joe Biden, but we need a new nominee.

00:09:47.740 Hunter Biden's assessment and hide the kids for this. 1.00

00:09:51.360 Fuck him. 1.00

00:09:53.380 Fuck him. 1.00

00:09:54.340 Fuck him and everybody around him. 1.00

00:09:57.080 Don't have to be fucking nice. 1.00

00:09:58.320 Number one, I agree with Quentin Tarantino. 1.00

00:10:00.460 Fucking George Clooney is not a fucking actor. 1.00

00:10:03.040 He is a fucking, like, I don't know what he is. 1.00

00:10:06.680 He's a brand. 1.00

00:10:07.920 And by the way, and God bless him.

00:10:09.520 You know what?

00:10:10.220 He supposedly treats his friends really well.

00:10:12.500 You know what I mean?

00:10:13.000 Buys them things.

00:10:13.820 And he's got a really great place in Lake Como.

00:10:16.200 And he's great friends with Barack Obama. 1.00

00:10:18.420 Fuck you. 1.00

00:10:19.140 What do you have to do with fucking anything? 1.00

00:10:20.660 Why do I have to fucking listen to you? 1.00

00:10:22.340 What right do you have to step on a man who's given 52 years of his fucking life to the service of this country 1.00

00:10:28.440 and decide that you, George Clooney, are going to take out basically a full-page ad in the fucking New York Times to undermine the president? 0.97

00:10:35.960 Mr. Biden also speaking out for the first time about the cocaine found in the Biden White House in July 2023. 0.90

00:10:42.940 Eleven days later, the Secret Service closing the investigation, announcing no suspects could be determined.

00:10:48.400 FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announcing in May the investigation would be reopened.

00:10:54.280 Mr. Biden denying the cocaine belonged to him.

00:10:57.300 I think they're opening up an investigation to cocaine that was found in a cubby outside the west wing of the White House.

00:11:03.640 Oh, so they blame, they just got to blame you automatically.

00:11:05.480 Yeah, I mean, they're literally going to do an FBI, another congressional investigation, because they've convinced themselves that it had to be me, that there was a little tiny.

00:11:13.740 And my point of even bringing it up is that no.

00:11:17.240 I have been clean and sober since June of 2019, and I have not touched a drop of alcohol or a drug, and I'm incredibly, incredibly proud of that.

00:11:28.640 And why would you bring cocaine to the White House?

00:11:31.900 Why would I bring cocaine to the White House sticking into a cubby outside the situation room in the west wing when I wasn't there?

00:11:38.620 He seems to be suggesting he's sober for this interview, too, which is remarkable.

00:11:44.600 President Trump on Sunday intensifying calls to restore the former mascots of two professional sports teams,

00:11:53.400 the Washington Commanders football team, formerly the Redskins, and the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, formerly the Indians.

00:12:01.460 Washington changing the name in July 2020 at the height of the BLM protests among heavy corporate pressure and calls from some Native American groups.

00:12:09.720 Cleveland officially switching the name the following year after removing the Chief Wahoo logo, portraying a red-faced man with a feather in his hair, from team uniforms in 2019.

00:12:20.520 At the time, some Native American groups welcoming the moves as long overdue steps toward cultural sensitivity and respect,

00:12:28.100 while another supported the continued use of the name Redskins and the, quote,

00:12:31.840 respectful use of Native American names and imagery in sports, education, and public life.

00:12:37.740 On Sunday, President Trump posting to Truth Social, quote,

00:12:40.800 the Washington whatevers should immediately change their name back to the Washington Redskins football team.

00:12:46.720 There is a big clamoring for this.

00:12:48.800 Likewise, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams with a storied past.

00:12:53.680 Our great Indian people in massive numbers want this to happen.

00:12:57.760 Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them.

00:13:02.340 The president following up on that post hours later, quote,

00:13:05.280 My statement on the Washington Redskins has totally blown up, but only in a very positive way.

00:13:11.120 I may put a restriction on them that if they don't change their name back to the original Washington Redskins

00:13:16.180 and get rid of the ridiculous moniker Washington Commanders,

00:13:20.360 I won't make a deal for them to build a stadium in Washington.

00:13:23.000 The team would be much more valuable, and the deal would be more exciting for everyone.

00:13:28.420 Cleveland should do the same with the Cleveland Indians.

00:13:31.100 Indians are being treated very unfairly.

00:13:33.340 Make Indians great again.

00:13:35.020 My God.

00:13:35.980 The Washington Commanders currently negotiating a deal to relocate their home stadium

00:13:40.920 back to Washington, D.C. from Maryland, where they have now played since 1997.

00:13:46.260 The Washington Commanders have yet to respond to the renewed calls.

00:13:49.960 However, in the past, owner Josh Harris has said the rebrand is here to stay.

00:13:55.220 Cleveland Guardians president Chris Antonetti responding, quote,

00:13:58.800 I understand there are very different perspectives on the decision we made a few years ago,

00:14:02.760 but it's a decision we made, and we've gotten the opportunity to build the brand as the

00:14:07.380 Guardians over the last four years, and we're excited about the future that's in front of us.

00:14:12.640 Some Democrats testing the waters for a potential 2028 presidential run already.

00:14:20.220 California Governor Gavin Newsom swinging through South Carolina earlier this month,

00:14:24.500 former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visiting Iowa, and former Chicago Mayor and

00:14:30.460 longtime Democrat operative Rahm Emanuel making an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show yesterday.

00:14:35.680 In the interview, he broke with his party on Trump's border policies, saying he would not

00:14:41.180 change them if elected president, though he disagreed with Trump's deportation policies,

00:14:46.060 and also took a bold stance on the issue of gender, sort of, well, at least when compared to others in his party.

00:14:53.460 So do you believe boys should be able to play in girls' sports?

00:14:56.520 Should we be putting men in female prisons, men claiming they're women? 0.99

00:15:01.140 No.

00:15:01.380 And, all right, here's my last one for you.

00:15:05.160 Can a man become a woman? 1.00

00:15:07.860 Can a man become a woman? 1.00

00:15:10.100 Uh, not, no.

00:15:11.740 He then joked he'd have to go into the witness protection program over that answer.

00:15:18.000 And that'll do it for your AM update.

00:15:19.860 I'm Megyn Kelly.

00:15:20.800 Join me back here for The Megyn Kelly Show, live on SiriusXM Triumph Channel 111 at noon east,
