00:02:49.800 bench by a majority vote of the active district court judges, Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqi,

00:02:56.600 holding his current role since 2020, previously serving as a federal prosecutor for 12 years.

00:03:02.980 Judge Faruqi has previously issued rulings critical of the Trump administration,

00:03:08.120 repeatedly challenging from the bench aggressive federal law enforcement tactics during the Fed's

00:04:29.560 held in a solitary padded cell that remained constantly lit, and denied access to phone

00:04:35.080 calls, books, religious material, and recreational time. His attorneys had requested Monday's hearing

00:04:40.740 to challenge those conditions, arguing the placement on Suicide Watch was unwarranted.

00:04:46.000 But after Alan was removed from Suicide Watch, his legal team moved to cancel the proceeding

00:04:50.960 altogether. The judge denying that request, citing what he called, quote, grave concerns about the

00:17:11.280 Fetterman did not immediately reject it. Britney Spears pleading guilty yesterday to reckless

00:17:18.060 driving involving alcohol and drugs. The pop star accepting a deal from Ventura County,

00:17:23.500 California prosecutors following her DUI arrest in March. The 44-year-old did not appear at her

00:17:29.660 arraignment, her attorney entering the plea on her behalf. Spears arrested on March 4th on

00:17:35.340 suspicion of driving under the influence after California Highway Patrol pulled her over for

00:17:40.300 driving her BMW, quote, erratically at a high rate of speed on Route 101 in Southern California.

00:17:47.540 The singer showing signs of impairment during field sobriety tests, prompting officers to

00:17:52.520 transport her to a local hospital for a blood test to determine whether drugs or alcohol were

00:17:57.500 in her system. She was then booked into jail overnight and released early the next morning.

00:18:03.160 At the time, a representative for the singer calling her actions, quote,

00:18:06.360 completely inexcusable, adding, quote, hopefully this can be the first step in

00:18:19.320 prosecutors formally charging Spears last week with driving under the influence of drugs and

00:18:30.060 if Spears is stopped while driving, she will have to submit to a test. Law enforcement will be

00:18:35.140 allowed to search her vehicle for drugs and alcohol, and she must continue a mental health

00:18:39.500 and substance abuse regimen, including twice monthly visits with a psychiatrist and weekly

00:18:45.000 visits with a psychologist. More from Nazarenko yesterday outside the courthouse. Today was a

00:18:51.140 substitute charge when there is a first-time offender where there is no

00:18:55.820 crash no collision no injury with a low blood alcohol content we typically and

00:19:02.700 routinely in Ventura County will offer the reckless driving involving alcohol

00:19:09.100 and drugs in doing so she was given a one-year informal predict probationary

00:19:15.980 grant instead of three. She also will have to attend and complete a three-month alcohol school

00:19:24.500 or 30 hours. I want to emphasize, however, that this charge, the reckless driving one,

00:19:32.000 is indeed what we call priorable. Should she re-offend in the future, she will not be given

00:19:38.160 the benefit of this reckless driving charge. Rather, she will be charged with driving under

00:19:43.440 the influence, and her penalties and her consequences would ratchet up. That includes

00:19:50.180 potentially up to five years of formal probation and one year in Ventura County Jail.

00:19:55.940 In addition, Spears sentenced to one day in jail, credited with time served, and ordered to pay a

00:20:01.860 $571 fine. Prosecutors have not disclosed what drug or drugs may have been in Spears' system

00:20:10.100 at the time of her arrest. Spears' attorney, Michael Goldstein, telling reporters, quote,

00:20:15.260 I don't think anybody is happy about pleading guilty to anything,

00:20:18.860 but under the circumstances and to get this behind her, I think everybody is pleased with the result.
