00:00:33.560 hey everyone i'm megan kelly welcome to the megan kelly show and happy tuesday

00:00:43.260 the democratic party is seemingly at war with itself with some party leaders saying the

00:00:48.140 progressives have gone too far but there's one big problem their voters keep voting for these

00:00:54.220 people. Plus, we have more to say about Sonny Hostin trying to get her Harvard educated son

00:00:59.500 out of legal trouble. And what exactly is Tom Brady up to? The so-called goat has some of his

00:01:06.140 biggest fans turning on him, or at least wondering what the hell is going on with his latest

00:01:10.840 behavior. Joining me now to react to this and more are the fellas from Rootless, the program.

00:01:18.420 Josh Holmes, Michael Duncan, and John Ashbrook are back.

00:01:23.260 We would not be celebrating America 250 if it weren't for a strong foundation set by the framers.

00:01:29.100 Hamilton built America's financial foundation on the principle of sound, stable money,

00:01:33.440 a principle later embodied by the gold standard.

00:01:36.040 But we abandoned that discipline in 1971, and we have since seen inflation erode the dollar's value.

00:01:42.480 What is the foundation of your savings?

00:01:44.560 is it gold or something that can be shaken disrupted devalued birch gold group has been

00:02:28.260 Text MK to the number 989898. Guys, welcome. Great to see you. Good to see you, Megan.

00:02:34.480 Always great to be back with you, Megan. Wait until you see the smorgasbord of options we

00:02:40.480 have teed up for you fellas today. All right. So the Democrat Party is interesting and what's

00:02:47.260 happening. And we'll get a little bit more into that. But I just I want to start with Troy Jackson.

00:02:51.000 Okay. Troy Jackson, excuse me, is now going to be the guy taking on Susan Collins in Maine.

00:02:57.820 And this is an important race because it relates directly to one of those Senate seats that the

00:03:02.940 Dems want so bad in their quest to take over both branches of Congress come these midterms.

00:03:09.040 And Graham Plattner was looking pretty good until the whole rape allegation thing.

00:03:14.280 Oh, that little thing.

00:03:15.500 The pesky rape allegation that took him out.

00:03:19.240 So then they scrambled to find somebody who could run.

00:03:23.180 And they've settled on this guy, Troy Jackson, who he comes from the state Senate in Maine, I think.

00:03:33.620 And so he's a state lawmaker.

00:03:36.300 And something interesting happened.

00:03:37.440 And we covered it on AM Update, where when he first hit the scene, some website called or Twitter account called Progressive Victory immediately tweeted out.

00:03:48.000 All right.

00:03:49.500 Watch out for Tony Jackson or Troy Jackson, because he's got a reputation of having hit a woman with a bottle.

00:03:59.000 And it's an open secret in Maine.

00:04:01.720 He's got like some sort of anger issues, basically, is what they were saying.

00:04:05.560 And he hit a woman with a bottle.

00:04:07.320 Now, I'm sure you guys have all been mad at various points over the course of your lives with men, with women, possibly your wives.

00:04:14.240 I'm going to guess you can count on no hands the number of times you've thrown a bottle at a woman in anger.

00:04:21.140 We typically don't bottle people here.

00:04:24.820 We are a non-bottling podcast.

00:04:28.520 We try not to bottle anyone.

00:04:31.280 It's just, it's not a normal thing.

00:04:32.980 That is not a normal anger management technique.

00:04:36.160 Especially when arguing male to female, right? 1.00

00:04:40.860 I feel that's fair.

00:04:42.280 It's just a real cavalcade of winners Democrats are rolling out in the state of Maine.

00:04:46.860 I mean, aren't there any Democrats who haven't gotten rough on some girl up there?

00:04:51.620 Can they find a normal person who can have their name on the ballot and just be a normal

00:04:57.740 candidate who's talking about taxes or housing or something else other than a history of

00:05:03.780 being a terrible person?

00:05:05.020 I mean, you've got to consider the prerequisites, right?

00:05:07.660 They've got to find somebody who wants to eliminate Western civilization first

00:05:10.840 before you start looking for candidates.

00:05:12.780 So you've got to be a little, shall we say, iconoclastic. 1.00

00:05:15.200 One woman at a time.

00:05:17.060 It's a thin bench. 1.00

00:05:18.520 Okay, so here's what happens.

00:05:20.660 So Progressive Victory puts out this tweet,

00:05:22.900 and this is a far-left Twitter account,

00:05:25.800 so you're like, oh, wow, I guess it's not going to be this guy Troy Jackson.

00:05:28.940 Well, a couple days later, once the party seems to be settling on him,

00:05:32.580 They withdraw. Well, they don't withdraw the tweet, but they amend saying, oh, we sent that out in a panic when we were just really scared that he was going to be another Plattner.

00:05:43.560 But we since realized that it's unverified and that was irresponsible of us.

00:05:48.360 So they don't crap on the reporting like they have no idea whether it's true.

00:05:52.340 They just say it was irresponsible to send it out without confirmation.

00:05:55.980 And we did it in a panic because we don't want another abuser.

00:05:58.680 Well, now we get the piece. The Washington Post has just dropped the piece with the information about that incident and many more.

00:06:11.140 OK, and before I give you the details on it, let me give you the Mark Halperin post, because Mark Halperin always knows what's what.

00:06:16.780 And he had this little ditty up his sleeve. And last night at 7 p.m., 7, 18 p.m. Eastern, he tweeted out the following, quote,

00:06:25.800 So, normal length, competitive campaigns for U.S. Senate nominations include ample time to have the press and political opponents vet the top choices.

00:06:37.840 Short campaigns do not allow for that.

00:06:41.100 Ask yourself why Republicans, including the National Republican Senatorial Committee, have not engaged in oppo efforts to slow down Troy Jackson.

00:06:52.940 Stay tuned.

00:06:53.660 So then this morning, what does the Washington Post drop? And I guarantee you, this is just the latest in or this is just the opening salvo because this is not a GOP controlled publication. And God only knows what the Republicans have on this guy.

00:07:11.900 This is what the Democrat newspaper dropped now days before he officially secures the nomination, which is this weekend.

00:07:20.440 Troy Jackson.

00:07:22.580 OK, before I get to it, let me do it.

00:07:26.420 Let's load the weapon here.

00:07:28.660 Let's do it.

00:07:29.560 Let's load the weapon.

00:07:30.480 Yes, exactly right.

00:07:32.240 Thank you.

00:07:32.640 So you guys remember back in 2012 when Barack Obama was running for his second term against the genteel, sweet, moderate Mitt Romney.

00:07:45.160 He was like the nice Mormon guy who, I mean, truly, you'd have to work to be offended by Mitt Romney.

00:07:52.980 But he went to that presidential debate and he was asked whether he supports more women in the workplace.

00:07:58.280 and he said yes and not only do I support more women in the workplace but we were open we were

00:08:05.340 hiring for a position recently at you know whatever he was running I can't remember it was

00:08:09.580 private sector or uh in the governor's office in Massachusetts where he'd been governor and he said

00:08:14.280 um my team brought me all these male applicants you know at resumes and I said you know don't we 0.99

00:08:19.180 have any women let's try to get some some women in here for consideration and they they brought 0.71

00:08:23.660 me binders full of women and you know we went on and made the decision from there the audience 0.99

00:08:29.960 that's young is still waiting for me to get to the part that blew up right it's like and then what

00:08:36.800 that was it it went so viral because the democrats chose to make him into a flaming

00:08:45.220 misogynist they thought that he was basically andrew tate okay by the time the democrats were

00:08:52.160 done with him. And just for kicks, I went on YouTube today. There was a scathing interview

00:08:56.580 by Mika Brzezinski on the Today Show. And then there were many things. But I pulled just this

00:09:03.320 one ad that the Dems made trying to capitalize on this one remark. This is the Democrats, OK?

00:09:09.020 This is their take on that hideous comment by Mitt Romney in which instead of saying

00:09:14.620 binders full of women's resumes, he said binders full of women. Watch.

00:09:22.160 Mitt Romney's condescending views toward women

00:09:25.800 Exposed

00:09:28.140 Asked specifically about policies to endure equal pay for women

00:09:32.020 In what new ways do you intend to rectify the inequalities in the workplace?

00:09:34.860 Specifically regarding females making only 72% of what their male counterparts earn

00:09:39.560 Romney had no policies or solutions, only revealing candidates

00:09:45.280 And all the applicants seemed to be men

00:09:48.640 And I said, well, gosh, can't we find some women that are also qualified? 0.87

00:09:53.200 They brought us whole binders full of women. 0.96

00:09:58.060 President Obama explained the clear choice for women.

00:10:00.080 When Governor Romney's campaign was asked about the Lilly Ledbetter bill,

00:10:02.880 whether he supported it, he said, I'll get back to you.

00:10:05.300 He suggested that, in fact, employers should be able to make the decision

00:10:09.160 as to whether a woman gets contraception through her insurance coverage.

00:10:12.640 Governor Romney says that we should eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood.

00:10:15.920 There are millions of women all across the country who rely on Planned Parenthood for not just contraceptive care.

00:10:22.840 They rely on it for mammograms, for cervical cancer screenings.

00:10:28.660 Romney exposed too extreme for women. 0.99

00:10:32.840 It's just so ridiculous. 0.98

00:10:35.200 Yeah, I mean, that was the sort of weak tea that used to pass for an oppo hit for the Democrats. 0.95

00:10:40.560 And they only got away with it, Megan, in that era, because the entire media was in the bag for Barack Obama.

00:10:48.360 And so they amplified it on their own front pages.

00:10:51.420 They wrote editorials, all these sorts of things.

00:10:53.420 So you take a small statement that is totally innocuous, and they blew it up into a massive thing. 1.00

00:11:01.080 It was so ridiculous because you can't have binders full of women. 1.00

00:11:05.700 That's not a thing. 1.00

00:11:06.920 He clearly just neglected in a debate setting to put on apostrophe S resumes.

00:11:15.200 That's it. That was his big sin that got him labeled a misogynist and extreme, too extreme for women.

00:11:23.840 OK, flash forward to just now. 0.94

00:11:27.360 And we were replacing the accused rapist with Troy Jackson.

00:11:32.300 And again, back to The Washington Post.

00:11:34.440 Here is what they posted.

00:11:35.580 Troy Jackson, a powerful Maine legislator now running for Senate, once angrily threw a water

00:11:41.680 bottle in a meeting he couldn't persuade a law when he wouldn't persuade a lawmaker to vote

00:11:46.840 his way. He yelled at another lawmaker, prompting her to post on social media that straight men

00:11:52.260 were too emotional to be in politics. And he cursed and shouted in a meeting with the speaker

00:11:57.640 of Maine's statehouse until she kicked him out of her office. During the six years, Jackson

00:12:03.080 presided over Main Senate until he left office in 2024. This is not ancient history. His temper

00:12:11.060 was a feature of his leadership. That's an interesting way to phrase it. Was Mitt Romney's

00:12:18.060 misogyny a feature of his leadership? What does that mean? And one the Democratic lawmakers

00:12:24.480 discussed among themselves as a problem and even raised with the governor. That's according to a

00:12:30.400 reported of his leadership drawn from interviews with more than two dozen people who spoke to the

00:12:33.880 Washington Post. Some remained anonymous. Jackson himself declined to be interviewed.

00:12:39.260 B.J. McAllister, a campaign advisor, acknowledged, quote, moments when he let his frustration get

00:12:43.020 the better of him, but said Jackson took responsibility and apologized when it happened.

00:12:47.800 Troy regrets the moments when disagreements became too heated, said McAllister, but passion

00:12:52.500 for the issues he advocates for should not be confused with physical intimidation or bullying.

00:12:56.860 OK, now here we go. Ready? Incident with the then speaker of the main house. So this person is a black woman who is the first speaker of the main house. This then this is what this guy's running on the Democrat ticket. May I remind you, Troy Jackson.

00:13:15.460 In 2024, Jackson became enraged in a meeting with then House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross's office when the two Democrats disagreed about tactics on passing a gun control measure.

00:13:28.960 Jackson banged on the table, cursed, and then got close to Talbot Ross's face after he said he was done talking to the leader, according to two people.

00:13:37.440 Talbot Ross, a civil rights advocate and the first black woman elected to the main legislature, kicked him out of her office.

00:13:44.140 Another person in the room connected to the Post by the Jackson campaign disputed that he was face to face with her or that he slammed his hand on a table and cursed.

00:13:53.820 But they did note that they had a heated argument.

00:13:55.960 OK, well, that's not great.

00:13:58.600 But I mean, I'm going to guess screaming in the face of the first black person woman elected to the main legislature would be probably devastating if a if a Republican had done it in the eyes of The Washington Post or Maine Democrats. 0.51

00:14:12.680 but let's keep going. Water bottle incident. In 2021, again, that's five years ago. Post-COVID.

00:14:20.900 He had an argument with a member of his caucus and then state Senator Heather Sanborn,

00:14:29.120 a Democrat. It became legend in Augusta, Maine, where lawmakers of both parties gossiped about

00:14:34.900 Jackson's enraged confrontation with her. References to the incident with spare details

00:14:39.320 circulated online in his Senate bid.

00:14:42.160 Jackson and Sanborn were on opposing side

00:14:44.100 of a bill aimed at lowering prescription drug prices.

00:14:48.940 Because who doesn't throw a punch or two

00:14:50.920 or a bottle here or there

00:14:52.880 when you're talking about, you know, drug prices?

00:14:58.860 Jackson supported the bill,

00:15:00.640 but Sanborn argued it was unconstitutional.

00:15:03.440 She's a Democrat, too, 0.81

00:15:04.960 and would be struck down by the courts.

00:15:06.540 As one meeting wrapped up,

00:15:08.020 Jackson grew angry with Sanborn and confronted her, said three people in the room that day, and multiple people briefed on the fight.

00:15:14.220 At one point, he threw a water bottle in anger.

00:15:17.800 Quote, he was an inch from her nose, screaming and hollering and haranguing her.

00:15:23.260 One of Jackson's former legislative colleagues who was in the room said, yeah, that person said.

00:15:32.200 So they said they didn't have physical contact, but he was an inch from her nose, screaming and hollering and haranguing her.

00:15:36.160 May I refer you back to the incident with the black speaker of the house in whose face he allegedly got where the one said that he he banged on the table.

00:15:44.460 He cursed and he got close to her face and his aide said, well, he wasn't face to face with her and he didn't slam his hand.

00:15:52.000 Do we believe that now that we see with this other person?

00:15:55.000 He was in her face an inch from her nose, screaming and hollering and haranguing her.

00:16:00.280 I would say it gives credence to report number one, maybe a pattern.

00:16:03.180 Multiple former lawmakers record that Sanborn, the woman whose face he was, at whom he allegedly threw the water bottle, left the Senate that day and did not return for several days.

00:16:15.020 Quote, it was pretty intense, said one source.

00:16:17.360 I haven't seen anything like that before or since.

00:16:20.920 Jackson's campaign advisor acknowledged that the candidate did throw a plastic water bottle, but said he was not targeting anyone.

00:16:30.340 Guys, it was not, it was just mad at the wall.

00:16:33.240 Yeah, exactly.

00:16:35.800 It was just an anger, an inability to control one's anger.

00:16:38.960 He threw it, but not at her.

00:16:42.060 That's a much different thing.

00:16:43.420 They said Senator Mark Lawrence, Lawrence, who was present for the confrontation, said

00:16:47.420 the bottle hit a desk before bouncing on the floor.

00:16:51.920 That's first the desk, then the floor.

00:16:55.260 And he compared Jackson to a softball player throwing a mitt down or a tennis.

00:17:00.260 player tossing a racket okay those are the highlights just like your mitt it's like a

00:17:08.540 softball mitt you know where you do with the water bottle same thing you do with a cry

00:17:13.600 from the mitt romney indignance over indignation right indignation oh the democrat indignation 1.00

00:17:22.920 over binders full of women now it's it didn't hit her it hit a desk and then a floor 1.00

00:17:29.940 much in the way a mitt at a baseball game might ricochet off the mound. 1.00

00:17:36.120 This guy's turning into the Incredible Hulk over prescription drug policy,

00:17:41.620 and they're like, he's just so passionate.

00:17:43.460 Well, yeah.

00:17:43.980 I mean, look what you made me do.

00:17:45.360 Yeah.

00:17:45.760 Look what you made me do over this prescription drug policy.

00:17:48.420 It's a feature of his leadership.

00:17:51.140 I'm just so passionate about these things.

00:17:53.900 You know, who's to blame me?

00:17:55.300 It's like throwing a mitt.

00:17:56.600 It's more of a feature, I think, than a bug.

00:17:59.940 megan you look it's it's not just this cat or graham plattner the guy he replaced but it is

00:18:07.540 sort of a feature in this dsa uh socialist takeover the democratic party these are maladjusted folks

00:18:15.060 for one reason or another and there's some maladjusted you know what i mean there's some

00:18:20.660 backstory to each one of them about how they got that way but homes are you saying living on reddit

00:18:26.420 does not give somebody great social skills perhaps we might have to look into that but i think you're

00:18:32.020 exactly right i mean just look at katie porter a case from the other coast volcanic temper oh we're 1.00

00:18:37.660 gonna get to katie just a lunatic dump boiling mashed potatoes on the head of her ex-husband 1.00

00:18:43.380 and came at him with a broken coffee pot that's a temper who knows a feature of her leadership 0.99

00:18:48.200 there's no joy there's no joy in any of this it's all angry it's all hatred of america it's

00:18:55.940 hatred of western civilization it's it's it's a feature this is who they are now this this troy

00:19:03.040 jackson i don't think he says officially he's dsa but he's thrilled that they like him listen to

00:19:09.880 troy here in sap one i've always been someone that believed that health care is a human right

00:19:15.720 and it became clear to me after some time that abortion reproductive rights access is a human

00:19:21.100 right it's health care it's people that you know deserve to have that and you know when it dawned

00:19:26.920 on me uh you know i became a real advocate for that i mean over the last 10 years i've had 100

00:19:33.620 voting record planned parenthood i've sponsored or co-sponsored some of the most progressive

00:19:38.860 abortion access in the entire country and fought vehemently for it and you know i make no bones

00:19:44.920 about a bad vote years ago coming out of a rural area, a very Catholic area.

00:19:52.160 But, you know, I mean, people are going to have all kinds of thoughts about these things.

00:19:57.600 But, I mean, I have a 20-year record of votes like that,

00:20:01.300 but a whole bunch of votes that, you know, people like in the DSA think that I'm very progressive.

00:20:09.040 You wipe that smirk off your face, Katie Turrell.

00:20:12.440 I'll smack it right off for you.

00:20:14.360 That's how it really ended.

00:20:15.500 They cut that piece off.

00:20:16.940 The Winston Churchill of our time.

00:20:19.720 With an Ed Muskie poster over his shoulder.

00:20:22.080 I mean, most people have a poster of an athlete or something.

00:20:24.720 Ed Muskie?

00:20:25.440 Are you kidding me?

00:20:26.720 He used to be pro-life.

00:20:29.880 That's why he's explaining himself to Katie Turr about how, oh, no, I'm pro Planned Parenthood and I'm pro-choice now.

00:20:36.560 And the DSA loves me.

00:20:38.460 For whom would that be a good endorsement?

00:20:40.400 The DSA loves me.

00:20:41.500 Let me disabuse you of the one redeemable characteristic I have.

00:20:47.940 I mean, it's just incredible.

00:20:50.900 He's also pro-Graham Plattner.

00:20:53.160 Every time Bernie Sanders went to the state of Maine to rally for Graham Plattner,

00:20:58.400 do you know who introduced Graham Plattner?

00:21:00.760 It wasn't Bernie Sanders.

00:21:02.120 It was Troy Jackson talking about how he'd gotten to know him over the last year

00:21:06.300 and how proud he was, how honored he was to introduce Graham Plattner to the state of Maine.

00:21:11.740 And Graham Plattner voted for Troy Jackson first.

00:21:15.420 You know, they have ranked choice voting in the state of Maine.

00:21:17.960 Graham Plattner, his first choice, Troy Jackson.

00:21:20.900 Yeah.

00:21:21.200 No, it's true.

00:21:22.600 But, I mean, look, you look at all of these guys.

00:21:25.600 And we used to say about Graham Plattner, he was a rich person's idea of a poor person, right?

00:21:31.040 and that's sort of how democrats thought they needed to redeem the 2024 election when you look

00:21:37.560 at middle class working class america they need a little bit of a hold on that i think this guy

00:21:43.500 it looks like he's the far left's version of what a normal white guy is like except for you know

00:21:50.720 the volcanic temper the intimidation of women i mean it just this is who they are now and you look

00:21:59.240 at the stage that determined that this guy was going to be their guy and it was like a star wars 0.64

00:22:05.420 bar i mean the closest thing they had they had two with one who was a dude in a dress and the

00:22:11.180 other woman who had previously lost to susan collins by 37 points that was their choices

00:22:15.720 or or this guy and like this is what they came up with it is just an incredibly bad bunch of

00:22:22.940 candidates. Let me tell you something that there was a poll. This is earlier in the month before

00:22:30.440 Plattner pulled out. It was by public policy polling showing Collins up against various

00:22:36.380 Dems in the state of Maine. And it showed that Plattner was leading her by five points and

00:22:43.540 Jackson was leading her 49 to 44. So five points there with 7%. So Jackson, at least in the

00:22:52.920 last poll where they matched those two up was looking good against susan collins who may i

00:22:57.680 remind you is a woman yes susan collins is an actual woman and um the main the main senate

00:23:06.980 race is a mess for all sorts of reasons um but this guy is going to run against susan collins

00:23:12.400 who as i pointed out before may not be beloved by the maga base exactly but is she there's a 0.93

00:23:19.180 respect for her in Maine. She's been bipartisan. She's more moderate, which Maine Republicans are

00:23:24.500 more moderate. And I just I don't know how this is going to play out with this guy who sounds like

00:23:30.540 kind of a bully prick when he's across from a woman who doesn't give him his way and versus 0.89

00:23:36.260 Susan Collins. And let me just point another thing out to you about the hypocrisy of these 0.99

00:23:41.720 Democrats. You mentioned Katie Porter, Ashbrook. Thank you for that. Thank you. All welcomes of 0.95

00:23:46.320 Katie Porter, our mentions of her are welcome.

00:23:49.980 When she got outed for her terrible temper in California,

00:23:55.200 one of her first responses was to say, 0.99

00:23:58.200 I'm passionate, same bullshit we heard in that article. 0.99

00:24:00.940 But then the second point was, 1.00

00:24:03.800 this is a misogynistic double standard.

00:24:06.940 Because let me tell you that they wouldn't be doing this

00:24:10.360 to a man who had heated arguments like this.

00:24:13.260 And she was suggesting some of her adversaries

00:24:14.960 out there in California,

00:24:15.820 were such men and i went back and looked um senator barbara boxer you remember barbara boxer right

00:24:24.960 when she when uh she was like calm it it's senator i believe i've earned it remember to

00:24:32.480 like the five-star general who was testifying in front of her i forgot made the mistake of calling

00:24:36.040 her ma'am yeah she actually pulled her uh endorsement of katie porter at the time she said

00:24:45.720 hold on a second where is it uh senator barbara boxer uh yeah she saw porter display display 0.99

00:24:53.360 these traits in this video anger a lack of respect privilege and she said that is why 1.00

00:24:59.620 I'm not going to back her 0.97

00:25:01.900 in the race she had

00:25:04.480 against Adam Schiff,

00:25:06.480 which was previously...

00:25:08.520 Oh, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:25:10.700 Oh, sorry. Oh, yeah, she's lost multiple

00:25:12.360 times, Megan. It's confusing. Which is why she decided to back

00:25:13.680 then-Representative Adam Schiff, who ultimately

00:25:16.260 won. That's why. So, yeah.

00:25:17.980 She said, I had a bad taste in my mouth from

00:25:19.920 that experience, Senator Boxer said, growing upset

00:25:22.060 when describing her reaction to the

00:25:23.920 video of Katie Porter cursing at her staffer.

00:25:26.220 This video tells us everything we need to know

00:25:27.900 about former congressman porter she is unfit to serve period well i look forward to barbara boxer

00:25:34.060 coming out and speaking out about troy jackson guys do you i mean i i think we're three two one

00:25:39.700 until this leader of the democrat party this you know senator emeritus as nancy pelosi wants to be

00:25:45.200 called speaker emeritus which is not a thing she i look forward to her leading her party out of the 0.99

00:25:50.980 troy jackson rabbit hole because of his terrible temper in the same way she made katie porter 0.94

00:25:56.140 suffer. Megan, I wouldn't get your hopes up, because what we've learned in our career in

00:26:01.120 politics, and Ashbrook mentions it all the time, is the only time you learn bad things about a

00:26:05.640 Democrat is when it benefits another Democrat. And unfortunately, in Maine, for the Maine

00:26:09.760 Democrats, is they don't have any other options. No, they're all fresh out. At this point,

00:26:14.260 they don't have any other options. So they're going to circle the wagons around Troy Jackson,

00:26:17.900 I think. I think if you're waiting for her to issue a statement opposing Troy Jackson,

00:26:22.820 And I think we're going to be waiting for some time.

00:26:25.400 Yeah, it's worth rewinding the tape a little bit just to the Plattner and the end of the Plattner deal.

00:26:30.180 It were all these allegations that were ultimately made about him were known and they were known in Democratic politics.

00:26:35.180 And some of it had surfaced out privately.

00:26:37.460 And then other parts with the New York Times article that did just a shoddy job of trying to I mean, they were basically trying to paper over serious allegations against him.

00:26:47.500 But all that stuff started to come out, and not a single Democrat had any problem with it.

00:26:53.020 He went down, Graham Plattner went down to D.C. to meet with Chuck Schumer and the entirety of the Senate Democratic Conference to try to do a little damage control when none was needed.

00:27:03.160 And the reason none was needed was because he was up five points in the polls.

00:27:07.620 Now, over the next week to 10 days, that five-point lead went into a five-point deficit, at which time, all of a sudden, these are very troubling allegations.

00:27:16.580 And they just so happen to coincide with a 72-hour window where they could still do something about it.

00:27:22.640 Now is the time to do what you need to do to get somebody, a statesman like Troy Jackson, who all he's done is throw a couple of water bottles around or something.

00:27:35.020 It's unbelievable.

00:27:36.620 It hit the table.

00:27:38.220 It's just the table, Holmes.

00:27:39.880 That's right.

00:27:40.320 Not the lady. 0.89

00:27:41.980 Okay? 0.98

00:27:42.600 I mean, we'll see.

00:27:43.780 We'll see.

00:27:44.460 But here's my next question in this whole saga. Why is the Washington Post doing this article? To me, this has the stench of the New York Times Lindsay Fifield article about Plattner. Remember, the New York Times did basically a catch and kill on the worst of the Graham Plattner allegations.

00:28:05.260 They did a whitewash. They chose a couple of allegations that they knew were not going to tank him and put those up.

00:28:12.440 And they had spoken with the rape accuser, but allegedly couldn't get her to go on the record.

00:28:17.880 And I heard them talking, the reporters talking about this on The Daily, the New York Times podcast.

00:28:21.980 And they they were saying we spoke with her. She just wouldn't go on the record with those accusations, which suggested they knew the accusations.

00:28:31.000 They just couldn't convince her to go on the record, which I have to tell you, if you know that there is a serious rape accusation against somebody you're doing a Me Too piece on, and the only reason you can't print it is because the woman's not yet there, you know, where she'll say it on the record, the tone of your piece would normally sound very different from what the New York Times ultimately went with.

00:28:52.580 So that it was a catch and kill. It definitely had the feel of a catch and kill. And I just wonder, given that Mark Halperin tweet, whether The Washington Post may have just done something similar for, as you point out, the only candidate left, because it's not going to be Ashley Webb.

00:29:12.800 But she writes books.

00:29:15.720 She's a songwriter.

00:29:16.860 yeah yeah can't wait you're probably you're probably most well-equipped to explain uh journalism

00:29:23.760 well i think megan i think you're exactly right i think this it's it's an old tactic

00:29:28.580 right you mentioned the new york times trying it in this exact same senate race just a few months

00:29:34.340 ago but every single cycle we see the same thing from these major papers and then some of the big

00:29:40.900 broadcast networks they have great ties into the democratic party they want to boost those

00:29:46.280 candidates because they're all Democrats. And it's a tactic that we've seen. I mean,

00:29:51.360 we've worked in campaign politics for 20 years, tale as old as time. But what's different now

00:29:57.080 is the media environment. They used to control, and Michael Duncan touched on this just a few

00:30:02.060 minutes ago, they used to absolutely control, start to finish the conversation about politics

00:30:07.620 in this country. That's not the case anymore. There's shows like the Megyn Kelly show,

00:30:11.860 Shows like the Ruthless Variety Program. So you get balance in media in a way that never happened 10 years ago within the course of our careers. And I don't think Democrats are equipped to figure out how to how to manage their candidates and their messaging in this new environment, because what was so easy for them for so long is now increasingly difficult.

00:30:36.640 They can't pull the wool over everybody's eyes.

00:30:40.240 And in the case of the state of Maine, you have to ask yourself, well, why has Susan Collins gotten elected over and over and over again?

00:30:47.260 Well, she's done a pretty good job. 0.91

00:30:49.420 I mean, all the Republicans and conservatives around the country find things to complain about with her voting record.

00:30:55.740 But the people in Maine seem to like it.

00:30:57.680 She's helping them outkick their coverage in the United States Senate.

00:31:01.600 And this is a place where it's like Jessica Fletcher and Sheriff Amos Cuppert. 1.00

00:31:06.180 this is not a place where people are throwing water bottles at women murder she wrote is that

00:31:11.300 where you went with that well that's exactly right this is maine is a wonderful place with the name

00:31:18.100 first and last name of the angela lansbury character what a deep track that is that's

00:31:23.940 the type of color you get on the ruthless variety program but his next level he's illustrating a

00:31:30.340 good point you look at somebody like susan collins who's a very competent politician

00:31:34.820 and you're like man it it always seems like she's trailing in the polling i mean look at the

00:31:40.000 sarah gideon race last time where she was trailing throughout yeah in 2020 and then won with margin

00:31:46.580 in 2020 and the reason why is because there's parochial issues in a state like maine whenever

00:31:53.020 you have a rural small state things like saving the lobster industry or like shipyard jobs things

00:31:59.920 like that that don't make the front page of any newspaper delivering on stuff like that is huge 0.78

00:32:06.080 and that's why susan collins has been so successful she's been a perfect ideological fit for maine and

00:32:10.320 of course that's not an ideal logical fit for all of conservative america by any stretch of the

00:32:15.600 imagination but she's always done things the right way by her constituents and yeah maine is not

00:32:21.200 mississippi right and then you contrast that with this clown show and it's like i don't know does he 0.97

00:32:27.040 beat women does he not beat women the other guy is accused of raping women i don't like it really 0.99

00:32:32.580 are we having this conversation at the table the table to the floor okay just stop you i mean you 0.99

00:32:39.800 guys are the political experts but my guess is like when you were explaining the bottle it hit

00:32:44.160 the table it not not the lady at whom he was yelling an inch from her face that's not a win

00:32:51.320 You're you're on quicksand, my brother. Like, this is not a great place to be. And let me tell you something else about that New York Times catch and kill on Graham Plattner. It didn't work. Why didn't it work? Because the main woman whose story they effectively buried and, you know, downplayed was pissed.

00:33:11.720 she felt like she was lied to by the times so did lindsey fiefield who was told she was going to be 1.00

00:33:18.720 a bit player in the times's piece and she wound up being the center of it and they dismissed her

00:33:24.240 all of the left and basically the times too as a conservative operative which she knew was going

00:33:30.520 to happen i mean she's such a she hates liberals so badly why was she sleeping with graham plattner

00:33:34.880 you know it's like that doesn't make sense right but but okay whatever right so but it didn't work 1.00

00:33:40.060 because the women were pissed at how the times handled it and they would not be shut up and let

00:33:45.500 me tell you i am really wondering whether the three women highlighted in this washington post

00:33:51.260 article who are on the wrong side of this troy jackson are going to be okay with how those

00:33:57.700 incidents were portrayed the table i okay was it the table or did it hit this actual woman who if

00:34:06.080 it hit what's her name uh heather sanborn i bet we're gonna find out about it if the first black

00:34:12.400 woman elected to the main legislator legislature house speaker rachel talbot ross has been

00:34:18.260 misrepresented and he really was in her face i bet we're gonna hear about it and then there was

00:34:24.340 that other one who he got in the face of like i just think this isn't gonna do it you can't you

00:34:29.260 really can't catch and kill anymore like people have figured it out so they won't be silenced

00:34:34.580 yeah so i'm looking forward to part two the one thing that you can bet your bottom dollar on 0.85

00:34:39.260 though megan is that there are democratic operatives crawling all over the uh inboxes 1.00

00:34:43.840 of those three women that you just discussed ensuring that they will never work in democratic 1.00

00:34:47.920 politics again if they try to surface any of that right and and well that kind of gets to be risky 0.56

00:34:54.880 business too because if they go forward they're not only going forward with the the reality that

00:34:59.860 they experience, but also the intimidation that they experience to not tell the story. So I think

00:35:05.440 you're right. I think it's extremely difficult to keep reality out of the lens of politics these

00:35:10.680 days, and thank God for it. Well, notwithstanding the best efforts of Ashley Webb, who very much

00:35:19.320 tried to keep reality out of the lens. We're using that term so loosely. Ashley Webb, for those who

00:35:29.020 aren't aware um is i think jack jack webb was the original name if i'm correct this person ran for

00:35:35.740 office in new hampshire and lost and um now goes by ashley and wants us even though it's literally

00:35:44.140 meatloaf reincarnated wants us to believe that that he is a she he looks just he looked just

00:35:55.820 Just like meatloaf. 0.92

00:35:57.900 Holmes, back me up.

00:35:59.360 I would do anything for love, but I won't do that.

00:36:04.560 No, no.

00:36:05.580 No, I won't do that.

00:36:07.960 Oh, he did it.

00:36:08.760 He did it all right.

00:36:10.400 And here's a little from Ashley Webb's latest.

00:36:14.320 This was a podcast.

00:36:15.800 This was recent.

00:36:16.900 Wasn't it recent, you guys, where he sat down with a PhD named Amethystaharic?

00:36:21.780 this wasn't like part of the reddit days when he was posting about how he's getting his period out 0.89

00:36:26.340 his ass this was this week that one nearly broke me it posted on sunday okay listen it's not for 0.99

00:36:43.620 her so the the idea then that um you had ovaries but um or you have ovaries i suppose they were 0.99

00:36:50.580 that were generating estrogen but um but not necessarily ovulating oh i'm i don't know about

00:36:59.620 the ovulation i'm because i do get symptoms too that well i was until i went on estrogen patch

00:37:04.500 which went away completely okay i would um like i would feel really good on like the 15th day of

00:37:12.100 every cycle and it was a 39 29 day cycle that i was experiencing i mean this sounds pretty

00:37:19.300 sounds pretty uh cycly there so

00:37:23.700 go ahead during that time like i also wake like a mucus which they can't really explain oh my god

00:37:33.220 interesting oh god i could have gone my whole life without hearing any of that

00:37:42.100 what have you done oh she does this to us at the top of the show 0.95

00:37:49.780 You were given a trigger warning before we got rolling, Holmes. 0.99

00:37:57.140 Smug is the only smart one.

00:38:01.420 Couldn't make it today.

00:38:03.540 Terrific recitation of the birds and the bees from those two. 1.00

00:38:08.060 I just think if you think you're getting your period out of your ass, 1.00

00:38:11.940 you should probably see a proctologist. 1.00

00:38:13.720 Yeah, it strikes me as a good time for a colonoscopy.

00:38:15.720 It should be a deal breaker.

00:38:16.680 Maybe a test for colon cancer.

00:38:18.360 No, he did. He went to a colonoscopy doctor, or I don't know, an OBGYN maybe.

00:38:24.740 He went to some doctor and said, I'm bleeding out of my ass because of my period. 0.99

00:38:29.920 And then he complained that they gave him a colonoscopy. 1.00

00:38:35.480 It was misogyny.

00:38:37.580 Basic biology. Those are different roadways.

00:38:42.000 Okay? Just to put it plain, those are different roadways.

00:38:46.820 he would produce a mucus

00:38:49.620 oh come on come on 1.00

00:38:50.940 I need that like men in black pen 1.00

00:38:57.600 that they push and you're like erase 1.00

00:38:59.720 come on come on

00:39:02.460 I've never seen

00:39:03.620 I've never seen home so disturbed

00:39:06.080 okay wait

00:39:09.400 let's check out sound bite number five

00:39:11.720 I don't think this one is quite as bad

00:39:13.720 it's not quite as bad

00:39:15.560 let's watch five say you want to call yourself transgender despite not necessarily knowing what 0.85

00:39:22.900 all parts are or uh inside well i mean the doctors gave me the label and i want to keep it because i 0.55

00:39:31.540 see even if i'm intersex like the intersex community pretty much tossed me out and didn't

00:39:35.480 want to talk to me oh any story there you want to you want to finish with i had ovaries and

00:39:43.880 possibly uterus and i was asking him like i have these cat scans can you take a look

00:39:47.640 or and you know tell me what you think and i guess it annoyed them so they kicked me out

00:39:52.300 oh okay well i mean good welcoming community thanks exactly the cranes community welcomed

00:39:59.060 me without any issues wait hold on this person is getting cat scans and sharing it with public

00:40:05.620 interest groups like hey what yes dude this is the intersex community was not convinced homes

00:40:11.640 they saw no ovaries and no uterus they only saw mucus and they said you're you're tg you're you're

00:40:18.940 not intersex you're a tg out you go this poor guy can't find acceptance anywhere not in the 0.58

00:40:25.540 not in the intersex community not with women not with main voters because just before we came to 0.99

00:40:31.820 air he announced he's bailing he too has finally accepted reality that the very very pro woman

00:40:39.480 troy jackson will be the democratic nominee to take on susan collins and he's out he's officially

00:40:44.420 out uh i don't think they're sending her best what is it what does it tell you about the state

00:40:51.020 of our politics that that character made it further including onto a debate stage in the

00:40:57.040 main democratic party than they could make it with the intersex community the intersex community

00:41:02.740 They had better judgment than the main Democrat party.

00:41:06.880 It's true.

00:41:08.060 It's true.

00:41:08.620 They smell the rat immediately.

00:41:10.980 They allowed this guy on stage to debate.

00:41:16.600 Did you see that?

00:41:17.820 Because last Saturday they had their like kind of pre-nominating thing where Troy Jackson basically emerged as the winner.

00:41:22.920 And then by Sunday night, the four other like serious candidates had dropped out.

00:41:28.140 Ashley was like, hell no.

00:41:29.480 But and so this upcoming weekend is the official. OK, Troy Jackson's our nominee. But they allowed that Ashley Webb to join the others on stage and debate. And I suppose they're they're going to they're proud of this, I guess. They they think this is a badge of honor. They think this is going to reel in more people to their party.

00:41:48.140 Like, again, like we've talked about this on the show. Many, many voters are not thrilled with the economy. Right. And they're holding against President Trump and will likely hold it against Republicans come the midterms. And they're thinking, I can't. I'm not going to vote for these guys. They didn't do. Whoa. Whoa. Never mind. I'm staying. I'm going to stay right where I am. I am not meandering over to Team Blue.

00:42:10.460 I think you put your finger on a very interesting distinction. I mean, you look at the wave elections, 94, 2006, 2010, to a certain extent, 2018, to a certain extent, all of these midterm elections that have become incredibly difficult for parties in power, have an opposition that has solidified, at least if not a majority, a plurality, in terms of their overall favorability for the party.

00:42:38.980 But Democrats are in the opposite situation where there's a huge majority of Americans

00:42:44.840 that disapprove of everything in the country right now.

00:42:48.580 And President Trump, obviously, by running the country and Republicans being in charge,

00:42:53.020 get attacked for that.

00:42:54.420 But Democrats, by virtue of what they've gone through in this primary cycle and introducing

00:42:59.420 us to the communists that live amongst us and then folks like that, have done more to

00:43:05.700 to degrade their brand further than any of those previous election cycles. And so,

00:43:11.940 you know, ultimately, what Democrats want to do is make this a referendum on President Trump and

00:43:16.020 any anxiety that you have about Iran, the economy, anything else is just you have to vote Democrat

00:43:22.820 because there's no other way. Where it's likely to be a little bit more of is a choice in some of

00:43:28.300 these elections, certainly in Maine, I think is going to be a choice election. And that Democrats

00:43:34.120 really have a difficult sale to make to voters because they're weird. They're not in line.

00:43:41.700 Yeah, they're weird.

00:43:42.320 They're not in line with the vast majority of voters in a midterm election. And I don't think

00:43:47.940 at this point there's anything they can do to resuscitate that image. They just have to hope

00:43:52.720 that it gets so bad for Republicans that people either they don't vote or they just protest ballot

00:43:59.340 and they don't even take a look at the candidates at all.

00:44:02.200 I'd love to meet the guy who was like, the answer is to put Ashley Webb on stage.

00:44:06.860 I mean, truly, like, that's how far gone they are, right?

00:44:09.940 That they actually do think that that's a good idea.

00:44:13.120 And that's going to make them seem accepting and like, you know, the kinder, gentler party.

00:44:18.080 You see, we love everyone.

00:44:19.920 It's like, again, I don't need to reference this a third time.

00:44:23.480 But that guy has so many issues.

00:44:25.180 This is not about showing kindness.

00:44:27.500 This is about keeping a true freak off the stage as not representative of your party

00:44:32.840 or your goals or policies or ideals.

00:44:35.160 It seems like every single Democrat running for office, no matter where they are, is somehow

00:44:40.660 running for president of California.

00:44:43.400 You know, like in 2006, you mentioned, I mean, that was a very, very difficult midterm cycle

00:44:48.720 for Republicans.

00:44:49.560 And why were Democrats so successful?

00:44:51.680 Because they were focused on fixing Washington.

00:44:54.280 You had a lot of Democrats out there saying, you know what?

00:44:56.960 the party in charge the republicans aren't doing enough on border security they were touching on

00:45:01.940 issues that your average voter actually cared about and so they were very successful and today

00:45:08.200 they are all talking about issues that their donors in california in some parts of manhattan

00:45:13.800 care about and they're missing the boat and it's why they won't succeed as much as they could and

00:45:19.600 it's why it's not a referendum it's a choice they're they're actually the ones who needed to

00:45:24.440 be a referendum to your point, but they're the ones who are also making this a choice just by 1.00

00:45:29.300 virtue of their stupid positions. So I want to tell you something, something sad and something 0.99

00:45:35.800 interesting. First, something sad. Back to Katie Porter. I'm just going to give you one soundbite

00:45:41.960 just because it could be the last time we ever get to ever get to watch it. Here's here's soundbite

00:45:47.260 60. That we're going to lose more than half a million Californians dying prematurely to air

00:45:54.140 pollution and other problems and the state could lose get out of my fucking shot 0.91

00:46:00.520 it's not that it's electric vehicles it's that if we don't need the commitments under the 0.97

00:46:07.380 paris climate accord okay it does okay you also were in my shot before that

00:46:12.800 stay out of my shot okay i'm going to start again with um electric vehicle saving us money perfect

00:46:20.680 i mean now now we're sorry we gave her such a hard time over that clip because today in an

00:46:31.160 interview with a sacramento bee quote i am closing the door on being a candidate i cannot foresee

00:46:39.020 that path back she's done and she says she's now going to use one of her two social media accounts

00:46:48.160 to discuss a different passion. Books. Hi, it's Katie Porter with a non-political post. I'm done

00:46:57.440 for now with politics and campaigning. But one thing that's always been a constant from when I

00:47:03.680 was a little kid to now is to love to read and taking a lot of solace and heart and joy, pleasure

00:47:11.320 in reading so i'm rebranding this account as katie porter turns the page it's partly a reference to

00:47:18.760 a new chapter in my life to the change but also to something i do a lot which is turn the page

00:47:24.120 when i'm reading i'm a fast reader and so stay tuned for book recommendations book ideas and

00:47:30.140 author content thanks so much she's now going to be a bookworm i like books a book club head

00:47:43.360 uh i don't know but can you imagine if you disagree with her take on you know like little

00:47:50.520 women or sense and sensibility i i have some recommendations for her new book group oh

00:47:57.720 anger management book how to win friends and influence people

00:48:02.500 well it's a real shame power of positive thinking yeah there we go it's a real shame because it's

00:48:08.840 such a bull market for these abusive unattractive menaces that are political candidates out there 1.00

00:48:15.920 i mean she's missing the boat her party loves them right look at troy katie move to maine 1.00

00:48:22.760 Maybe that's the problem. She was in California. She should be in Maine. I'm sad that she's leaving. But here's the interesting news, which is AOC to Politico yesterday in a headline I missed says, quote, are you are you running for president? Quote, I can't say I've ruled it out. 1.00

00:48:43.760 Yeah. That is the closest she's come. She's always played it down. She's refused to answer. She's dodged, gotten out of bounds. That's the closest she's ever come to saying, yeah, I might or yeah, I will. So what do you make of that? What does that tell us, guys?

00:48:58.040 Yeah, I mean, we've been saying this for, I don't know, six, eight months, that one, she's definitely running for president. Two, she is the heir apparent to the Bernie movement, which, if not for Democratic shenanigans, probably won in 2016. Certainly had huge influence before Democrat shenanigans in 2020. And then it basically operated the entire ideological policy agenda of the Biden administration as a concession to get him into office. 0.65

00:49:24.640 so she's the heir apparent to all of that but i also will say this as dumb as she comes off 0.99

00:49:30.820 to people reasonable people and you know her ahistorical sort of ridiculous conception of 1.00

00:49:38.200 what america is notwithstanding she's got real talent and she and she does have eq and if you

00:49:44.900 notice what she's doing where she has colleagues that are sort of running themselves into these 1.00

00:49:49.860 long-term meat grinders, she's avoiding them a bit. And so she would not endorse Plattner.

00:49:56.460 Yeah. I would caution people who just easily hand wave AOC away and say that she's not a

00:50:03.380 serious candidate. She's a deadly serious candidate. There was also the story in Axios 0.99

00:50:08.020 a couple days ago, I don't know if you guys saw it, where they were drawing parallels between

00:50:12.140 some of her recent rhetoric and Barack Obama's rhetoric. We played the soundbites yesterday.

00:50:16.700 Yeah. So she is studious about maintaining this image as a potential bridge builder for her party, recognizing the fact that her party is as divided as hell. You've got the radical communists on one side and then you have the old school Democrats who are trying to get elected on the other side. And she is presenting herself as a potential bridge to pull those two sides together. You can see her working to try to make this happen. 0.70

00:50:43.140 There was one other quote from AOC that I saw yesterday that I thought it was pretty instructive to this dynamic where she's trying to triangulate between the Bernie Sanders wing and your sort of run-of-the-mill Democrat.

00:50:57.700 They were talking about the DSA, and she said, you know, growing up, I didn't come from a militant leftist family.

00:51:04.860 I came from a working-class family.

00:51:07.080 And I thought, oh, that's interesting.

00:51:09.280 It's an interesting repainting.

00:51:10.800 You didn't really come from a family that leaned into its Hispanic background either, Sandy.

00:51:16.280 There's a lot about her background.

00:51:18.320 She didn't. 0.95

00:51:19.660 All of that is true, but now she's a made woman in DSA politics.

00:51:23.460 And so you can get away with some of that stuff, much as Barack Obama was a made man.

00:51:27.300 Yeah, exactly.

00:51:28.460 Just yesterday saying, I'd endorse her for anything. 0.63

00:51:31.120 I think she'd be good at anything.

00:51:32.900 So that's DSA in chief.

00:51:36.420 And yeah, I think I like that plan for her.

00:51:39.300 I don't want AOC to be president, but I like it as a political positioning for her that I can bridge that gap.

00:51:44.900 She probably could.

00:51:45.940 I don't know who the real AOC is.

00:51:48.140 I have no idea. 0.88

00:51:48.840 Her name is Sandy, and she grew up in Westchester.

00:51:50.740 But it's a good opportunity for her.

00:51:53.760 And I have to say, in the 10 seconds left, you know, it would have been an amazing match at the presidential contest level.

00:52:00.260 AOC versus Charlie Kirk.

00:52:03.060 He was too young to have run, but eventually he would have gotten there.

00:52:05.900 And that I would have liked to have seen. 0.51

00:52:07.600 We'll be right back with the fellas.

00:52:09.300 Don't go away. Feeling sluggish, bloated, not quite like yourself? Life constantly bombards

00:52:15.480 us with silent threats, processed foods, artificial light, nonstop stress, all of which can disrupt

00:52:21.640 gut health, drain energy, and weaken immune health. When that happens, it's not that your

00:52:26.260 body is broken, it's that it might be missing the right inputs. That's why I want to tell you about

00:52:31.100 Armra Colostrum. It's packed with more than 400 bioactive nutrients that they say can work at a

00:52:37.120 foundational level to fortify gut health, support immune health, fuel recovery, and promote whole

00:52:48.660 performance and recovery, which is why colostrum has long been valued by some elite athletes as

00:52:54.120 well. If you are looking to take back control of your health from the inside out, consider Armra.

00:52:59.480 And they have a special deal for you right now. If you go to armra.com slash Megan, or just enter

00:53:10.000 A-R-M-R-A dot com slash Megan. Back with me now, the fellas from the Rootless Variety Program.

00:53:20.800 Holmes, Duncan, and Ashbrook are all here. Smug had a personal situation to deal with,

00:53:27.380 and we wish him very well. Okay, guys, while we're on politics, two items we've got to get to.

00:53:34.600 The first is funny, and the second is great.

00:53:39.200 Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton still together after all these years.

00:53:43.060 They jetted off to Europe for a summer vacation.

00:53:46.560 And I just want to show you the tape because they just look like the perfect lovebirds.

00:53:50.200 I mean, you can see that they're keeping the flame alive.

00:53:52.960 There she is, dressed like the Hamburglar, meandering the streets of Italy, I think.

00:54:01.660 And where's Bill? I'm sure he's here.

00:54:02.900 Oh, okay.

00:54:05.920 His hat looks MAGA adjacent.

00:54:08.520 His shirt looks like it needs another button up top, fellas.

00:54:12.540 And if you can see the pants, I'm not sure why they're so short,

00:54:17.640 but he's got the ankles, the naked ankle thing going

00:54:20.600 that some of the hipster young guys do these days.

00:54:24.920 The interesting thing is there is about 20 feet between the two of them.

00:54:29.040 They clearly still want nothing to do with one another.

00:54:34.280 It's very interesting.

00:54:35.520 I don't know what goes on in that weird marriage, Holmes,

00:54:37.640 but I love watching it from afar.

00:54:39.820 You know, he's got the shirt on button.

00:54:41.260 He's got the tight jeans, the ankle roll. 1.00

00:54:43.640 He's trying to attract the Italian women, if you ask me. 0.98

00:54:46.720 The man's not out of the game yet.

00:54:48.240 Oh, he's still a young troubadour.

00:54:52.500 Still got some gas in the tank.

00:54:53.460 What about her? 0.96

00:54:54.000 You don't think Hamburglar is attractive to the young Italian men?

00:54:57.520 You know what?

00:54:58.160 I'm just glad, Megan, that they didn't try to recreate that picture of them dancing in their swimming suits right after the Paula Jones scandal back in the 90s.

00:55:06.960 Remember the one that was on every tabloid front page trying to show that their marriage was strong?

00:55:12.360 No, I remember Paula.

00:55:13.680 I don't remember those two.

00:55:15.060 And just swimsuits?

00:55:16.260 Oh, yeah.

00:55:17.240 Don't Google it.

00:55:18.700 You don't want to Google it.

00:55:19.980 It's like the main Senate race.

00:55:23.360 No.

00:55:24.000 No, thank you.

00:55:24.820 So that, you know, tip of the cap to them together after all these years.

00:55:29.280 I do think, Megan, can I just say, the MAGA adjacent hat is very interesting to me because in 2024, I think we all remember when Bill Clinton was on the stump in Georgia talking about how important it was that Democrats start talking about the border again.

00:55:45.340 And all the lefties were like, how dare you say that?

00:55:47.700 That's off message.

00:55:48.460 You can't say it.

00:55:49.520 But he put 42 on his hat.

00:55:52.180 I really think that.

00:55:53.540 Right there in the picture we're showing.

00:55:54.820 Yeah, I really think there are some aspects to Trump that Clinton secretly admires.

00:56:00.940 I believe this.

00:56:03.040 That's a fascinating theory.

00:56:05.580 I believe it because Trump is a moderate.

00:56:07.920 Trump is not at all the crazy figure that the media portrays him to be.

00:56:12.360 And I'll bet you, I mean, Clinton was never one of the, he probably hates the DSA.

00:56:17.020 He probably hated the open border.

00:56:19.640 He was a more moderate Dem.

00:56:21.640 Yeah, for sure.

00:56:22.740 And we were just talking about AOC and her pathway to the White House. It was Bill Clinton's political advisor last week, Jim Carville, who said it's not going to happen. She'll never get there. So if those guys still have hive mind in some level, they don't like the left wing lurch of that party.

00:56:39.160 Oh, that's interesting. I wonder if he's telegraphing a message there like, you know, you can be MAGA adjacent and that might be preferable. It might be a better way to run for office as a dem than far left, you know, get rid of the U.S. Senate, get rid of the Pentagon, get rid of police, get rid of prisons, all that mania, which is not me being unfair to them. That's actually the DSA's platform.

00:57:04.660 OK, the second item is about Joe Biden. He is still to this moment fighting to stop the release of the audios, the audio recordings from his interview with Robert Herr, the special counsel who is investigating whether he shared classified information inappropriately with his ghostwriter or the co-writer or whatever on his book.

00:57:28.640 and Robert Heard found that he had, he had done that,

00:57:33.180 but that he was not going to prosecute him

00:57:34.800 because he was a well-meaning elderly man

00:57:36.560 with a poor memory and that's how a jury would see him.

00:57:39.420 They wouldn't want to punish him.

00:57:41.300 Well, the interview, the transcript had been made public.

00:57:45.780 We have read from it extensively.

00:57:48.140 I'm sure you guys have as well.

00:57:49.820 And there's been a push by this one group

00:57:52.980 to get the actual audio, which exists, released.

00:57:57.020 And he has been fighting it.

00:57:58.640 He and his team do not want that out. Now that he's not even in office, it's truly like, well, what's the point? The point is he doesn't want us to know with our ears how bad he was.

00:58:10.180 It's yet another piece of evidence that puts the lie to the lies we were told by the media and his team for all those years.

00:58:17.100 So what's happened now is a federal appeals court, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, has rejected a request by Biden to block the release of audio recordings and transcripts of interviews he did with a memoir ghostwriter prior to being elected president.

00:58:29.280 The three-judge panel from the D.C. Circuit suspended its decision on the matter until August 3rd to allow Biden more time to consider another appeal.

00:58:39.040 So he can do one of two things.

00:58:40.340 He can ask for an en banc review, like every judge on the D.C. Circuit to come together and review this.

00:58:44.860 Or you can go right to the Supreme Court and ask them for a review.

00:58:47.760 Neither one's going to pan out for him.

00:58:49.820 But here is what the two-judge majority said.

00:58:53.920 We conclude that any remaining incursion on personal privacy from disclosure of the now redacted materials likely does not outweigh the public interest in disclosure.

00:59:03.600 So this, it looks like, guys, is going to come out.

00:59:07.940 And I wonder if you're a Democrat, if you were if you're thinking, just let it come out now.

00:59:14.080 Just like just look at July is better than mid-August, right?

00:59:20.300 Like the closer we get to midterms, the worse it is.

00:59:23.780 And maybe, like, if he petitions for an en banc review, that'll get us through probably till September 3rd.

00:59:29.600 Now we're even closer.

00:59:31.500 Whatever body he petitions next is going to say no, and they're going to say no quickly.

00:59:35.680 But the longer he delays this, the more it's going to hurt when it comes out.

00:59:41.440 Because the audio is probably coming out, and we're all going to feast on it.

00:59:44.680 And I'm sure the, you know, the party, which much would much prefer at this point, he just roll over and take his licks on July 21st, as opposed to October 31st.

00:59:55.260 Yeah, I think that's entirely right.

00:59:57.000 I mean, the problem is that it completely eviscerates the credibility of just about every Democrat in Washington, D.C.

01:00:03.300 And the her saga in and of itself is a perfect reminder to the American people just what the Democrat establishment is capable of.

01:00:12.140 here's a guy that goes in with full intent of prosecuting a sitting president of the united

01:00:17.280 states for keeping classified information and his conclusion is i can't i can't prosecute him

01:00:23.220 because he doesn't know what he's doing he's a invalid essentially and that comes out in the

01:00:28.160 entirety of the democratic party its mouthpieces in the media the folks like the pod bros everyone

01:00:36.380 just assails her because like this is he's doing the magas bidding basically making this guy uh

01:00:45.740 into something that he's not and then like four five six months short months later the american

01:00:51.580 people are treated to exactly what her was behind closed doors and you can see this on a debate

01:00:55.580 stage and realize that all along every single democrat was willing to lie to your face in the

01:01:03.660 blind pursuit of power that is a very troubling thing as you enter a midterm election yeah and i

01:01:09.740 think like at a base level the tapes need to come out for you to restore the character and reputation

01:01:16.540 of her himself because of the way that the democrats assailed him it was entirely unfair

01:01:23.100 why the bible why the biden team is trying to suppress his information i mean i guess it's

01:01:29.100 embarrassment but like at this point dude they forced you off the ticket you

01:01:34.500 were the sitting president of the United States like whatever you said on that

01:01:38.760 tape unless it's like I actually did well remember the year executing me for

01:01:44.220 like like what remember Duncan he couldn't remember the year in which Bo

01:01:48.540 died yeah but we we already kind of knew that right we don't have the proof of

01:01:52.980 that but I mean man they forced you off the ticket and then you guys you lost to

01:01:58.380 donald trump again like pull the band-aid he couldn't remember the year he was vice president

01:02:03.840 yeah remember that was one of the other how he was a what year was my vice president again i mean

01:02:07.840 this guy like but megan this guy's not great this guy went to a memorial service for a congresswoman

01:02:14.820 from indiana and introduced the dead woman on stage i mean we knew all that you know what i

01:02:20.980 mean like all of this was very public for anybody who was interested in listening to it but those

01:02:26.660 liberal ecosystem sort of media information flow folks just kept holding on and lying to the

01:02:34.620 american people well it's gonna come out i have no doubt of that there's no privacy interest that

01:02:41.120 justifies keeping this uh confidential at this point so you know buckle up boys okay um we talked

01:02:48.700 yesterday on this program about the sunny hoston debacle and you guys are always saying you know

01:02:55.260 you only see the view clips when you come on this program and here we have a massive view story and

01:02:59.760 you were ready for it when this broke the guys at the ruthless variety program were ready for it

01:03:04.780 because of all the view clips you've been subjected to by our show um so sunny hoston in this latest

01:03:11.860 incident do you guys know the story yeah okay yes our son who's 24 years old and she'd really

01:03:20.060 really want you to know a harvard grad yeah of course he got stopped by police because he was

01:03:26.380 at a rail yard and i believe new rochelle of westchester county and he said he was jogging

01:03:34.140 and they said that's not allowed this is private property you're trespassing

01:03:38.060 and he called her he called her i mean a lot of my viewers yesterday were like okay what 24 year

01:03:46.000 old man calls his mommy when he has an incident involving police officers, if she's a former

01:03:52.320 federal prosecutor or not. He's not getting arrested for murder. You know, it's like you're

01:03:57.700 going to get a citation for trespass. Why did you call your mommy? It's a fair question. I got to

01:04:03.280 be honest. But whatever he did, if my son called me at any age, I'd go. I'd help him. But it was

01:04:09.820 her hypocrisy that was so rank to me and to a lot of the audience as well just she's constantly 1.00

01:04:16.940 railing about white privilege and uh you know just how these elite circles of these evil white 0.99

01:04:23.980 republicans don't allow people like her into them and she's worried all the cops are evil and 0.91

01:04:28.840 they're gonna she was her son's a runner and she was very worried he was going to get arrested for

01:04:33.100 no reason in westchester as he was doing his running that's how it happened you're actually

01:04:37.140 what happened is your son violated the law and very polite police officers actually downgraded

01:04:41.940 what he did to just a citation so they wouldn't get in more trouble than he was actually in. I

01:04:46.620 mean, oh, the irony. But now we actually went back and we found Sonny Hostin. It was very

01:04:54.000 interesting talking about the J6 pardons that Trump issued. And don't forget, yes, there were 0.53

01:05:01.180 some who assaulted cops and that was very controversial for that pardon. But the vast

01:05:06.840 majority of the people on j6 were just trespassing they were just crossing uh into a property which

01:05:12.780 most of them didn't even didn't even know that they couldn't go in there a lot of them were

01:05:16.380 waved in and she had no empathy for them whatsoever okay she did not make that distinction uh in in

01:05:22.020 her coverage on the view but here she was talking in particular i think about the cops and and

01:05:27.560 pardons and trespass listen here i was particularly you know as a former federal prosecutor struck by

01:05:35.060 the fact that he would pardon over 1,500 people, especially those that were violent towards law

01:05:40.780 enforcement officers. When you are a prosecutor, you don't only prosecute someone because they've

01:05:45.420 committed a crime. You also prosecute someone so that you send a message to society that this

01:05:50.440 type of behavior is unacceptable in our society. You know, I always wondered where the big crime

01:05:59.320 wave came from over the last 10 years, but then I learned Sonny Hostin was a prosecutor.

01:06:05.060 so what do you make of it because here she is i'll just give it to the audience who's listening now

01:06:11.640 that might not know but here she is again on the scene making sure they know she's a former

01:06:18.840 federal prosecutor and the son went to harvard i think 36 what's going on he was walking along

01:06:25.420 on the tracks.

01:06:26.420 I'm on a run, on a walk, and the gate was open and I was out.

01:06:30.420 I see.

01:06:31.420 Yeah.

01:06:32.420 I'm on the phone.

01:06:35.420 He's on the phone with me.

01:06:37.420 Actually.

01:06:38.420 Okay.

01:06:39.420 I'm a former federal prosecutor.

01:06:40.420 He knows.

01:06:41.420 He's a Harvard grad who teaches fourth grade geometry to South Bronx kids.

01:06:45.420 He's not a kid who's in trouble.

01:06:48.420 It's an innocent mistake.

01:06:50.420 I think I was walking over there, and there was some, I was about to show up.

01:07:03.180 I had a big interview today, and I'm talking about it.

01:07:08.540 She got it all in.

01:07:09.740 Got it all in.

01:07:10.240 I'm a former federal prosecutor.

01:07:11.640 He went to Harvard.

01:07:13.140 In case you missed it, I'm on TV.

01:07:14.720 I had a big interview today.

01:07:15.980 We're all talking about, everyone's talking about my big interview.

01:07:18.580 She played every privileged card she could. And in the other clip, she also mentions that he's now a Yale researcher and then teaches fourth graders. All of it.

01:07:28.240 What happened to the important thing about not letting somebody off from a crime they've allegedly committed is sending a message to all the other would be, in this case, trespassers.

01:07:39.060 And you heard there, she mentioned 1500 people have been pardoned. And she didn't say like, OK, I can give you the ones who just trespassed. She had no problem with those people going to jail or being punished disproportionately, by the way, in the criminal justice. None whatsoever. No sympathy whatsoever. But Harvard's son, he needs to go away. He needs to be exempted from going away because he's her son, guys.

01:08:04.660 Harvard, Yale, former federal prosecutor on TV with a big interview. You see how the thing works?

01:08:10.260 Yeah. Has there ever been a bigger own goal in the history of politics than the left wing

01:08:17.020 lunatics demanding body cams on police officers? They would have the American people believe that 0.99

01:08:24.760 every police officer is some racist, bloodthirsty lunatic trying to shoot black people. And every 1.00

01:08:32.880 time we see the body cam footage you always are greeted by these police officers who are nothing

01:08:37.640 but polite and are just trying to de-escalate a situation here you know so like that that is

01:08:43.620 always what struck me as the funniest part of all of these things is like blm and in 2020 with the

01:08:49.960 george floyd protests and everything they made you think that there was a genocide against black

01:08:54.760 people in this country and now all these years later the american people have seen so much body 0.98

01:08:59.960 cam footage it's like you know what maybe maybe it's the left-wing lunatics who are the problem

01:09:04.960 not the police officers that's really well said i i also think by the way you know who they

01:09:09.760 interviewed on june 16th jd vance so she was clearly trying to play up i'm an important person 1.00

01:09:17.920 big interview today everyone's talking about it i mean how disgusting is she she she was trying to 1.00

01:09:24.800 play the view card there. I'm a TV person. I do interviews and everyone knows me. And my kid, 1.00

01:09:33.520 this kid, this 24-year-old man, you know, he's never been in trouble before. Okay, that's fine.

01:09:38.580 You can say he'd never been in trouble before. The Harvard-Yale thing was hit repeatedly

01:09:43.320 because of her privilege. Honestly, she's so blind to the fact that she's swimming in it.

01:09:50.960 She's dripping with it. It's coming out of her eyeballs, her privilege. All she can see is the white privilege that she finds everywhere, including the neighborhood she chose to move to right before she told the world they were a bunch of racists who are probably going to target her son with a phone call just because he was running while black.

01:10:10.160 Yeah. No, I mean, it goes to your point, Duncan. You can only imagine what that story would have looked like if there was not body cam. Right. Right. That would have been a feature on The View for quite some time.

01:10:19.980 Totally. I mean, it's a great point.

01:10:21.800 I think you really hit the nail on the head here, Megan, in that what I've come to realize

01:10:28.720 is the folks who talk the most about privilege are the people who are most interested in

01:10:34.900 exercising extrajudicial privilege when they have it.

01:10:39.680 It's this misconception of society itself that your place within it makes you above

01:10:45.220 or below the law in some way.

01:10:47.760 And I feel badly for people who think this way because it doesn't and it shouldn't.

01:10:51.700 But people like Sonny Hostin, who have said, you know, there's white privilege, class privilege,

01:10:55.960 any kind of privilege, everyone else, as long as I disagree with their politics, is subjected

01:11:00.360 to their privilege.

01:11:01.760 But I'm going to use it like a MO when I have that opportunity.

01:11:06.880 And I'm going to drop the full resume on you.

01:11:09.200 I'll do the federal prosecutor.

01:11:10.720 I'll do the view.

01:11:11.780 I'll do, you know, Harvard, Yale.

01:11:13.880 I'll do all of that stuff when it suits me and my family.

01:11:18.760 Yep, exactly.

01:11:19.920 Like one of those fourth grade boys from, you know, one of the boroughs that he's allegedly tutoring, if if they'd been caught, if let's say it's like their 13 year older brother who got caught on those railroad tracks by himself, who didn't have a former federal prosecutor view host mom to call those cops, they probably would have just given them the citation, whatever, and they would have been in the criminal justice system.

01:11:40.940 Her son got off with a lesser penalty because it was going to be a misdemeanor because they were being nice.

01:11:47.220 They were being nice to him because she played so many cards.

01:11:50.180 But she'll never admit that, right? 0.99

01:11:52.080 She's pissed.

01:11:52.780 You can tell she's angry at the cops.

01:11:55.040 And you're right.

01:11:56.080 If there hadn't been a body cam, who knows what she would have been alleging.

01:11:59.660 And by the way, I've had more than one person raise with me privately.

01:12:05.760 What was the son actually doing there?

01:12:07.780 Do we fully accept that he was just jogging in the rail yard?

01:12:12.440 Because I will say it's a little odd.

01:12:14.900 I lived in Westchester, not far from New Rochelle, for a couple of years.

01:12:19.100 It's a beautiful, beautiful county.

01:12:21.820 There are so many places you can run rather than a dilapidated rail yard.

01:12:27.600 It's a little strange.

01:12:29.720 And even Link Lauren, who's not like, he's not all that provocative on issues like this.

01:12:37.120 He was raising something about this yesterday.

01:12:39.400 I'll play it here in stop 32.

01:12:42.000 We've acquired these pictures of where he was allegedly out running, but then I think he said he was walking.

01:12:48.120 It says private property, no trespassing.

01:12:50.940 This looks like a sketchy area.

01:12:54.160 Something is not adding up to me, and I know you guys are going to agree with me.

01:12:57.340 Look, we have taken stills of where he said he was out walking at 8 p.m. and a wife beater in this weird area by the train tracks.

01:13:06.000 Now, there are gorgeous neighborhoods, gorgeous neighborhoods in this town.

01:13:11.140 Why are you out behind a warehouse in this industrial area by the train tracks at sunset where there's alleged drug and other criminal activity?

01:13:21.120 So much so that the police came in droves to the scene of the crime.

01:13:26.080 And we have this diagram we put up on here.

01:13:28.320 You can look at this diagram, right, where the cops stop him, where you have the no trespassing sign, where they meet the officers and we have the body cam footage.

01:13:36.860 Something isn't adding up to me.

01:13:38.560 I think she knows more than she's letting on.

01:13:42.640 That's interesting.

01:13:44.020 That is interesting.

01:13:45.860 Yeah, I mean, let me ask you this, guys.

01:13:47.900 Yeah.

01:13:48.080 If this had been, I don't know, pick your, like, Don Trump Jr. or Barron Trump when he was just a candidate and he was running, Trump Sr., do you think the media might follow up?

01:14:00.560 I think we'd probably get to the bottom.

01:14:02.200 Without a doubt, Megan.

01:14:03.560 And, you know, I was sitting here listening to the conversation and thinking all along, like, why the hell didn't he just pay the $200 fine or the go online and pay the, you know, put his credit card in for the $75 fine?

01:14:14.680 It's $500.

01:14:15.360 $500.

01:14:15.680 bucks like like everybody else who gets a ticket for something they shouldn't have been doing

01:14:19.460 but what link was saying is interesting like maybe there is something more to this story that they

01:14:24.580 don't want to let out but when i like to run i have to tell you guys my inbox is full of leads

01:14:30.640 like that that link just asked of people like screenshotting and raising questions they're not

01:14:35.920 buying the full story go ahead duncan once i saw the pictures everything's all sort of rusted out

01:14:40.780 and everything then i got what you were saying megan because like if i go running you want to

01:14:45.300 run in a nice place like apart somewhere without assault you know right like maybe like your

01:14:51.860 neighborhood you don't pick out the rusted out place where you can get tetanus and be like i'd

01:14:57.480 like to do physical activity here right but when we do all the drugs we do it in a rail yard

01:15:01.940 have you guys seen sunny hostin's home i i've only seen it because she made me see it she put

01:15:09.440 it public online because she wanted to show it off okay fine well these are her rules we'll go

01:15:14.680 along with them this is her neighborhood in westchester we'll show it stand by look at this

01:15:19.960 wow i i feel like i might jog in this neighborhood um without any qualms whatsoever it is a little

01:15:28.180 weird nice backsplash um yeah you're you're in because he he jogged in westchester i don't know

01:15:33.640 where he actually lives but he he jogged in westchester and i believe in the same town as mom

01:15:40.040 And this is mom's house.

01:15:42.040 This is where he grew up.

01:15:43.100 He was living there, whatever, I guess six years ago when he was an 18-year-old young man.

01:15:48.040 And now he's a Harvard grad and choosing to run in some very, very seedy areas.

01:15:53.720 So I do wonder as well. 0.99

01:15:55.800 The whole thing reeks and exposes her, as so many of the stories have today of these Democrats, as a hypocrite. 1.00

01:16:02.640 She's just a hypocrite. 1.00

01:16:04.200 You know, they say one thing and they do a different thing. 1.00

01:16:07.200 It's rules for thee, but not for me.

01:16:09.900 Boy, the view pays better than I thought they would for a lightly attended show in the middle of the day.

01:16:15.880 The Windsor family in England doesn't live in a house that night.

01:16:19.080 Do you see the Tudor structure and everything?

01:16:22.380 I mean, I feel like King Edward didn't have that.

01:16:24.400 I think I saw three oven hoods.

01:16:27.800 A three oven hood home?

01:16:29.580 Well, you know, you're exhausting a lot of smoke in that situation.

01:16:34.660 It's impressive to think about it.

01:16:36.500 Okay. Now, while we're talking about individual figures in the news, we got to touch on Tom Brady.

01:16:43.120 I have been wondering about Tom Brady for a while because I noticed in my own just, you know, observation, he's overexposed.

01:16:52.620 And it's a strange decision for someone that famous and talented and accomplished to need overexposure, to need like the daily clicks as badly as he seems to.

01:17:10.520 So I saw Dave Portnoy draw attention to this because Tom Brady did this stunt.

01:17:15.200 I'll show it to you.

01:17:16.000 He's doing something with Logan Paul on stage at a WWE event, and this was on July 17th, where he slapped Logan Paul.

01:17:23.620 Watch, it's at 29.

01:17:39.620 Okay, so that got all sorts of buzz, and it was odd.

01:17:43.040 I didn't know whether that was a stunt, you know, for clicks or real.

01:17:47.240 Then came two days later, this at, actually, I don't know where it was, but it was the two of them once again.

01:17:54.060 And it's Tom Brady give a World Cup giving Logan Paul the finger.

01:17:58.140 Watch.

01:18:03.660 Both people with the finger.

01:18:10.900 Okay. Then came Barstool Sports and, well, Dave Portnoy with a commentary on what the hell they're doing.

01:18:19.580 The very next, not what the hell Brady is doing the next day. It's top 25.

01:18:24.200 Tom Brady chopping it up with Logan Paul.

01:18:28.080 And they're doing, they're at the Fanatics thing. He hits them with a chair. Not good.

01:18:31.980 They're at the World Cup game. He gives them the bird, Logan Paul.

01:18:34.860 this to me is one of the great downfalls of of an icon with tom brady and the way he is acting

01:18:43.300 post-retirement it's a legacy that is being lamified i use that word people like what does

01:18:48.920 that mean it means he's becoming very lame and it's a guy who very few athletes michael jordan

01:18:54.960 messi uh beckham gretzky like these are like superstars that seem so above the fray

01:19:06.520 that you don't want to see him mixed up in in all sorts of lowbrow tick tock flag football leagues

01:19:15.960 in saudi arabia or whatever it is the rest everything about him is cringy right now to me

01:19:22.460 all right so that's portnoy and i agree with portnoy he came on this show and we talked about

01:19:29.120 brady one time and he's he's been ripping on him for a long time but he's not wrong there

01:19:33.400 i had the same feeling like what's he doing and jason whitlock who we love

01:19:37.160 went on his podcast yesterday i recommend listening to the whole thing it's a great download

01:19:41.400 um but he asked it this way it was such a good line uh i don't want to butcher it but it was

01:19:46.680 what what does like a goat do you know greatest of all time when the applause stops like oh

01:19:57.140 that's good he's so good chasing no sports very well but he's also a profound thinker here he is

01:20:02.740 in part in sat 24 michael jordan understood something tom brady doesn't absence creates

01:20:10.540 myth. After basketball, MJ didn't chase relevance. He withheld it. The Air Jordan brand does $6

01:20:19.380 billion a year. Jordan barely speaks publicly. When he does, it's an event. NBC paid Jordan,

01:20:28.300 what, $60, $70 million for one interview? One really boring, bad interview? The lesson,

01:20:35.640 jordan monetized his greatness by protecting it he built an ecosystem that works while he stays

01:20:42.540 silent scarcity is the strategy jordan doesn't need the camera the camera needs michael jordan

01:20:50.180 that's power brady is doing the opposite he's everywhere the fox booth widely paying the

01:20:58.580 functional beverage hawking the crypto and entanglement the roast and now bits with

01:21:04.920 influencers half his age there's nothing wrong with a man making money the question is what's

01:21:12.380 he trading for it so good question right what do you make of it i think they're exactly right

01:21:21.160 i mean if you look at jordan is always the pinnacle he's always what any goat will be

01:21:28.400 compared to because he's managed his image so well. But also, I mean, look back in those 90s

01:21:33.180 Bulls teams, right? It was Dennis Rodman that was doing the WWE stuff and all that because,

01:21:39.100 you know, Dennis was... Married himself. Yeah, right. I mean, because Dennis,

01:21:42.360 that was his brand and he needed that to be relevant. And then in the public conversation,

01:21:46.240 Michael Jordan didn't need that. He didn't need it because he was the greatest of all time.

01:21:50.520 Tom Brady doesn't need any of this stuff. I mean, he is as accomplished as any professional

01:21:57.060 athlete in our era you think tiger woods think michael jordan you know and yet we're dealing

01:22:02.900 with tiktok influencer bullshit i mean just putting him in the same room as logan paul's

01:22:08.780 offensive to me let alone doing a bit where he's like kayfabing a wrestling match like this will 0.95

01:22:15.780 end somewhere on some tiktok thing where they get 50 million dollars to throw a couple of fake

01:22:21.160 punches and one of them goes down and it's like oh this is funny and and whatever it's not funny 0.98

01:22:26.640 it's not funny when you're the greatest of all time you don't need that shit well as a colts fan 0.97

01:22:31.520 it's not hard for me to find something to criticize tom brady about i mean this guy and his team when 0.97

01:22:37.980 he was you know qb at the patriots broke my heart basically every year for about 10 years

01:22:43.660 um but when you're hearing criticism from dave portnoy who's a huge patriots fan and a guy who

01:22:52.200 made his career making content i mean he like knows the game better than anyone people don't

01:22:56.820 understand how smart he is um that's how you know it's gone too far and like when you become

01:23:03.480 the goat whether you're messy or tom brady or wayne gretzky it becomes a relationship with

01:23:09.160 the public like in the same way that a former president of the united states wouldn't diminish

01:23:15.260 themselves like barack obama right like barack obama has or like unlike his wife yeah or like

01:23:21.200 how kind of tom brady is now with the weird skits on on tiktok it diminishes the brand and like

01:23:27.460 woodlock's exactly right on the um scarcity is a real commodity it's the reason why diamonds are

01:23:33.820 so expensive right you don't need to be out there every single day when we put you up on that

01:23:37.880 pedestal we expect you to stay up there with some measure of unavailability i agreed with how jason

01:23:45.440 put it like if you're too available to us and you know we revered you like nationwide you sure some

01:23:52.200 sports people didn't like brady because for the reasons you just said but there was a begrudging

01:23:56.900 respect no matter who you talk to nobody could make the case he wasn't a great football player

01:24:01.140 or would take issue with his accomplishments it's but he won't stay up he refuses to stay up there

01:24:06.560 and i don't get it because fox is paying him almost 400 million dollars for his contract right

01:24:13.500 now not to mention all the hundreds of millions he made as a player with all of his endorsements

01:24:18.220 and so on he does not need the money there's zero chance and i gotta say megan as a football fan

01:24:24.960 he's great at that job and he adds an element from having played quarterback to all of his

01:24:30.340 commentary around the nfl games that gives you an insight behind the curtain into like how you read

01:24:35.280 a defense and like what the quarterback should be doing here he's gotten phenomenal at actually

01:24:40.760 doing the job um on on fox's football coverage so like okay i have to i have to take issue with

01:24:47.200 you because doug brunt would tell you he disagrees strongly he does not like i love it and i was

01:24:52.760 skeptical he's an eagles fan though yeah right right we all have our biases as a colt's everyone

01:24:57.760 i was i was late to the game on embracing tom brady in the booth let me tell you but i have

01:25:03.920 found a lot of value particularly like in the playoff stuff and everything he did a great job

01:25:07.740 He's gotten a lot better.

01:25:08.920 He has.

01:25:09.440 Which makes sense.

01:25:10.040 But the point is simply that he's gainfully employed.

01:25:14.080 It's not like he shouldn't be bored.

01:25:16.160 And he's got plenty of money in the bank.

01:25:17.880 So why?

01:25:18.440 Why would you be doing influencer stunts?

01:25:20.340 And here's what's interesting, Ashbrook.

01:25:22.920 Whitlock posits that everything started going south when he divorced Giselle.

01:25:28.420 that when a man has a wife and a family to come home to every night they ground him in in the

01:25:37.660 best sense and they give him something to strive for like the respect of that family the earned

01:25:44.200 respect the values that you're trying to teach your children and as the head of that family like

01:25:48.380 all the things that run through a man's mind when he goes off to work or you know sits down at his

01:25:54.480 desk to work are no longer really motivating Tom Brady. He's like allegedly sleeping with Alex

01:26:01.640 Earl or this other model or that model. He's, you know, from party to party, from red carpet event

01:26:09.560 to red carpet event. And I do think for like a younger man in his twenties, that might sound

01:26:14.160 very sexy. I think when you're what, 47, how old is he? He's right up there, years old, 48. And

01:26:22.260 you've lost you've lost the greatest supermodel in the world and full-time custody of your kids

01:26:27.740 after a couple years which it's been now since they divorced and she's off with another great

01:26:32.300 looking guy just had a sweet baby boy with him maybe you start to realize you can't fill all

01:26:38.580 these holes in you with another red carpet event or influencer stunt or yet another 10 hundred

01:26:44.920 million there's only one way of filling it and it actually does take the toiling work of building a

01:26:50.600 family, being faithful, making your meals together, going to church on Sundays, all the stuff that

01:26:55.900 your average American does in order to find happiness. Yeah, Whitlock is, his observations

01:27:00.740 are always astute. And he has a way of conveying stuff in a very simple manner that I think

01:27:09.060 everybody sort of digests and appreciates. I mean, I won't pretend to know what's going through

01:27:13.880 Brady's mind. But I do know that if I went home every night and just scrolled TikTok and then

01:27:19.360 woke up the next morning i'd be like well where the hell did my night go because that wasn't

01:27:23.120 worthwhile i mean it you can you can easily see calories it is it is and it's like it's what's it

01:27:29.740 for like oh another video oh great oh that person was fine i mean maybe you get a couple of laughs

01:27:34.240 there's there's value in having a couple of yucks but like spending a lot of time on social media

01:27:40.140 and tiktok it's just not yeah let me take let me take a counterpoint on some of it uh oh uh

01:27:48.660 Look, this is a guy who had everything, and obviously we mentioned the Giselle thing, and late in life he becomes America's most eligible bachelor.

01:27:58.180 Handsome guy, no question about that.

01:28:00.500 I got no problem with him running through every supermodel in the company.

01:28:03.660 I really don't, right?

01:28:05.080 You would expect that sort of thing.

01:28:06.660 She left him with the yoga instructor for crying out loud.

01:28:09.100 I'm not having the problem with it.

01:28:11.020 The theory is that he is actually not enjoying that as much as he would have us believe.

01:28:16.540 Well, maybe, but I also think that the other component of this is your representation. When you get to be that big of a deal, you're surrounded by teams of people that manage your image.

01:28:27.960 Yes, 100%.

01:28:28.600 What has happened to Tom Brady is he's got some element of his team that, for self-serving reasons, wants to book him on all of these things and wants to keep him relevant to younger audiences.

01:28:40.380 Yes, that's a good point.

01:28:40.840 Because they get paid.

01:28:41.360 Because they get paid and they create those connections that they can use for other clients and other things and their own future, whatever.

01:28:49.000 Totally, Holmes.

01:28:49.440 And there's nobody sitting atop of Tom Brady Enterprises underneath Tom himself who is saying like, dude, this is the greatest quarterback of our generation.

01:28:58.120 What in the hell are you doing putting him with a TikTok influencer who's like most noteworthy latest thing is fighting Mike Tyson when he's 65 years old.

01:29:07.440 like of course this is all joke and this is all ridiculous but nobody's managing that for him 0.71

01:29:13.740 and i feel badly for him as a result he really is the greatest quarterback of his generation

01:29:18.360 and he's getting totally underrepresented in my view well said i totally agree thank you for

01:29:24.840 saying that because i was this morning i was like it's the i bet it's the people around him

01:29:28.520 looking to cash in on every dollar he can make and he can make an endless amount of them so

01:29:33.420 they're like cashing cashing but this is not some nfl football player who played you know the first

01:29:38.240 three-year contract of his life at 200 000 bucks and then left and you have to really capitalize on

01:29:43.120 your fame for the two minutes you have it you know because you're not going to play football ever

01:29:46.080 again this is tom brady and like whitlock was saying you don't see messy doing this um or was

01:29:54.220 it portnoy you don't see beckham doing this look at novak jokovic he's i think i think he's we can

01:30:01.780 say he's the GOAT. Federer's right up there. Nadal's right up there. There's a whole collection

01:30:06.540 that's right under him. But if you just look at Grand Slams 1 and tournaments 1, Djokovic is the

01:30:11.500 GOAT. And he doesn't do this crap. You know what you see on Djokovic's social media? Him with his 0.99

01:30:16.960 wife and his kids. That's what you see. That's how he spends his time. And I will tell you,

01:30:22.460 I know somebody who knew Tom and Giselle when they were married. And this person told me that

01:30:28.700 that Giselle very much wanted him to be a stay at home kind of spouse, like be with her in the

01:30:37.180 evenings and be with the family. And that he was very interested in going out and being more of a

01:30:42.240 party boy. And she's more of a traditional, you know, she's from Brazil. She's like, those women

01:30:48.140 like their men to be more traditional, you know, and I'm sure she did want him to be home as head

01:30:54.160 household not like home never leaving but like the default is we're all at home at night and his

01:31:00.000 default according to this person was he wanted to go out he wanted a party she didn't want it

01:31:04.900 and they it drove a wedge between the two of them and i just think that has such a limited short

01:31:09.100 shelf life you know it's like you can't i i'll i guarantee you he's he's having second thoughts

01:31:16.140 about that divorce right now especially as he sees this stunning woman with her sweet baby boy

01:31:20.780 in these little pictures and the new you know the new husband's not bad either he's the jiu-jitsu

01:31:26.340 instructor i think it's not like she didn't land the plane suit instructors this is i don't allow

01:31:33.840 it don't it's a no honey i don't mind if you put on a few extra pounds i love you just as you are

01:31:40.200 you repeat after me we're gonna take a quick break more with the fellas right after this

01:31:45.380 our sponsor the electronic payments coalition says washington politicians are always getting

01:31:51.020 into your wallet and that now they're messing with your credit card they say your credit card

01:31:55.480 and the security it offers are under attack and that senators dick durbin and roger marshall

01:32:00.680 want to change the nation's payment system to benefit corporate megastores like walmart and

01:32:05.840 target at the expense of everyday americans credit cards can keep your payments secure

01:32:10.660 and provide rewards that families use to help make everyday purchases more affordable

01:32:14.880 The Electronic Payments Coalition says the Durbin Marshall mandates would let corporate megastores cut corners on credit card processing, routing transactions over cheaper, untested networks with weaker security and fewer protections.

01:34:09.980 The fellas from the Ruthless Variety program are back with me now, guys.

01:34:20.480 Do you remember Brooke Baldwin of CNN?

01:34:23.700 Oh, yeah. Blast from the past.

01:34:27.540 Yes. Okay. So for years, many, many years, well over a decade, she was on CNN.

01:34:33.580 It was from 2008 to 2021. She was there.

01:34:36.460 She's 47 now.

01:34:37.480 she got fired by jeff zucker she wrote a whole thing in vanity fair about it um or at least that

01:34:43.660 was picked up by vanity fair she might have been on her sub stack but she was she she felt it was

01:34:48.600 very unceremoniously um dismissed from cnn a place that she'd worked for you know 13 years

01:34:54.900 she didn't think she deserved that kind of an exit but jeff zucker is not a nice guy and didn't

01:35:00.120 treat her well according to her um then she went on she hosted um some show on netflix called the

01:35:05.980 trust in 2024 i don't know i think it might have been sort of like the mole i'm not sure what it

01:35:10.940 was but it was short-lived it looked interesting but i was glad to see her land on her feet

01:35:15.140 she's going a different way um at the moment she's writing on her sub stack and she's writing about

01:35:25.320 all the casual sex she's been having oh no okay come on okay of course you saved this for us

01:35:34.460 for our appearance on the show. 0.75

01:35:36.660 Let's weigh in.

01:35:38.480 Why should this hour be any different from any other?

01:35:43.720 And she wants you to know that,

01:35:47.480 well, let me just cue it up with a clip

01:35:49.520 from her latest posting, 0.81

01:35:51.100 because she went to Instagram

01:35:52.120 after she did the post on her sub stack.

01:35:55.620 And this is how that looked and sounded.

01:35:58.220 Stop 40B.

01:35:58.880 Good morning.

01:36:00.020 I just meditated,

01:36:01.520 and I feel so clear.

01:36:02.600 and coming out of that i just wanted to say a few things

01:36:08.360 about what i wrote about this weekend and about all of the people i've been hearing from

01:36:17.020 which has told me a couple of things clear from a lot of the men who are writing me 0.50

01:36:23.000 that first of all a lot of y'all shoot your shot trying to shoot your shot god bless you um that

01:36:29.620 wasn't the point of the piece but a lot of you shared with me that you appreciated how open I was

01:36:37.600 about talking about myself like that and it made me realize that a lot of us women

01:36:46.500 maybe don't feel as emboldened empowered as open in our bodies to the women who I know that read

01:36:56.940 the peace that are going through their own journeys of awakening and i mean that in all

01:37:05.600 the ways so am i do we ever really stop but i feel like i've been on a huge huge journey

01:37:11.520 these last few years and i'm really grateful for it um i see you i wanted to write about it

01:37:17.780 as it was all related to my work and my mission and god and my body it's all connected

01:37:26.460 okay that's my ted talk for the morning 0.99

01:37:29.960 okay her work and her mission include banging four men in a month one of whom 0.99

01:37:36.920 from her piece one of i mean her her written piece one of whom says he flew in just to take

01:37:43.120 her to dinner and spends his days working to save democracy one congressional district at a time

01:37:47.480 yeah she doesn't say who it is wear a smug again today

01:37:50.920 outrageous perfect setup just kidding just kidding uh man two one used to run a country

01:38:01.680 man three one is just hot man four not described at all which is that's tougher for that guy she

01:38:09.580 says some of the men now subscribe to her newsletter hi fellas so they're all reading

01:38:13.620 about each other and and brooke baldwin's journey of awakening i mean the self-help talk the journeys

01:38:22.380 of awakening i see you the her gratitude um the the music like the weird spa music from like i

01:38:31.360 don't know india the overly therapized talk in there you know you can tell she spent a lot of

01:38:36.480 years in therapy, the no makeup, you know, my work and my mission. It was like, I, okay, this,

01:38:43.820 let me just give you a look at what Brooke Baldwin was, was doing like a couple of years ago. This 0.65

01:38:49.220 is not ancient history. She used to be a serious news anchor. Yeah. This is Newtown, Connecticut, 0.96

01:38:55.660 and this is the week the funerals begin. In fact, one is beginning just across the street.

01:39:01.600 This is the only undertaker in this town of some 27,000 people.

01:39:07.200 A son from her father's brief marriage with an American woman, Anne, whom he met while studying in the United States.

01:39:14.080 Barack and Alma met for the very first time in person.

01:39:17.400 You get the idea. She used to be a serious news anchor.

01:39:20.000 And not only that, she used to really object to any sort of bawdy talk. 1.00

01:39:25.460 Look what she did to poor Clay Travis, who said, I believe in the First Amendment and boobs. 1.00

01:39:31.340 Stop 40. 1.00

01:39:32.740 I'm a First Amendment absolutist. 0.94

01:39:34.660 I believe in only two things completely, the First Amendment and boobs.

01:39:39.040 And so once they made the decision that they were not going to allow a conservative, non-sports-related commentary, they couldn't do it.

01:39:46.760 Hold on, hold on, hold on.

01:39:47.640 I just want to make sure I heard you correctly as a woman anchoring this show.

01:39:50.420 Did you say, what did you say? 0.95

01:39:51.760 You believe in the First Amendment and BWOBS? 1.00

01:39:56.180 Boobs. 1.00

01:39:56.760 Two things that have only never been down in this entire country's history. 1.00

01:40:00.220 The First Amendment and boobs. 0.56

01:40:01.880 So those are the only two things I believe in absolutely in the country.

01:40:05.380 Jamel has absolutely nothing to do with the background at all.

01:40:08.580 Did you notice that?

01:40:09.880 He went straight to that.

01:40:11.740 Yeah, you're absolutely right.

01:40:12.800 I did go straight to that. 0.99

01:40:14.300 Guys, why would you even say that live on national television and with a female host? 0.99

01:40:19.680 I say it live on the radio all the time because it's true and that's what I do. 0.97

01:40:23.060 because i like boobs and the first amendment which is exactly what i said

01:40:28.460 i'm done even i'm sorry have her anatomy brought up to have anyone's anatomy brought up in this 0.83

01:40:33.380 i'm done this is done this is conversation over yanking mics uh bye see ya

01:40:39.760 oh man oh man just a great moment of journalism right there it's nice to hear a story every once

01:40:47.980 in a while about uh some journalist who gets knocked down uh and then stays down and just

01:40:53.000 puts their knees behind their ears for the rest of their lives but it seems like it's working out

01:40:59.660 for us so i don't know yeah i mean word to the wise anybody out there in the dating scene if

01:41:04.780 you happen to meet someone who talks incessantly about their inner peace they have none of it

01:41:10.980 totally true you know it's pretty good but beware yeah i just the only thing i could think when i

01:41:17.440 was watching her video was this seems an awful lot like the last episode of mad men when john

01:41:22.740 ham goes off to california and he's becoming one with himself at some like yoga retreat center

01:41:28.680 and then the whole series ends after that hmm yeah well i would say i mean she can do what

01:41:35.040 she wants and whatever but i think she's been in a very toxic industry for a long long time

01:41:41.120 I can relate. 1.00

01:41:42.580 She had a divorce.

01:41:44.260 Okay, that can be tough.

01:41:46.280 She tried that one show that didn't work out, 0.93

01:41:48.240 but that was a good swing and a miss.

01:41:50.320 It's fine.

01:41:51.040 It was a good swing.

01:41:52.440 And I don't think this is the way out of the funk, Brooke.

01:41:55.660 I do not think this is the way.

01:41:57.260 I actually think if that continues,

01:41:58.940 you're only going to dig a deeper hole for yourself

01:42:01.400 and you deserve better.

01:42:03.220 That's my own two cents on it,

01:42:04.820 unasked for, unsolicited,

01:42:06.320 but from the heart,

01:42:07.900 one newswoman to another, I hope.

01:42:11.440 Fellas, thank you very much for being here.

01:42:13.800 Great to see you.

01:42:14.460 Lots of love.

01:42:15.440 And we will see you guys tomorrow for Kelly's Court.

01:42:18.720 We're going to take a deep dive into some very controversial cases in the news.

01:42:22.920 Don't miss that. 0.82

01:42:25.100 Thanks for listening to The Megyn Kelly Show.
