00:00:30.580 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show.
00:00:32.560 Your home for open, honest, and provocative conversations.
00:00:42.120 Hey everyone, I'm Megyn Kelly.
00:00:43.960 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show.
00:00:45.520 Audio of former President Donald Trump talking about
00:00:48.280 the Iran attack plan
00:00:50.820 that Mark Milley allegedly handed to him
00:00:53.080 is now public.
00:00:54.340 Remember they've been talking about this.
00:00:55.800 CNN has been conspicuously breaking the news
00:00:58.300 each time around this tape.
00:01:00.000 So obviously somebody's leaking to them.
00:01:02.340 And now we've actually got the tape.
00:01:05.500 CNN played it last night.
00:01:06.380 We'll play it for you in a moment.
00:01:08.380 Donald Trump's critics and others suggesting
00:01:10.660 this is it.
00:01:11.780 This really is the smoking gun.
00:01:13.080 They've got Trump dead to rights
00:01:14.340 on possessing a document
00:01:15.940 he did not have the right to possess.
00:01:18.700 We'll talk about it in just a minute.
00:01:21.520 Plus, new ridiculous attempts to defend
00:01:24.040 Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden
00:01:26.220 from people like Anna Navarro
00:01:28.340 on The View literally almost in tears
00:01:31.220 over what's being done to this poor family
00:01:35.200 by those mean, mean people
00:01:37.700 who want to know whether they're corrupt
00:01:39.500 and accepted bribes.
00:01:41.140 So much to get to today.
00:01:42.460 I'm super glad to be joined as always
00:01:44.460 by John Ashbrook, Michael Duncan,
00:01:47.440 Josh Holmes, and the man known to his minions
00:01:49.440 as comfortably smug.
00:01:51.580 Together they are ruthless.
00:01:54.120 Now on YouTube too.
00:01:55.900 And look at our friends.
00:01:57.700 Look at our friends who you can find
00:01:58.840 on youtube.com slash ruthless podcast.
00:02:00.860 It looks like Meet the Press.
00:02:02.540 This is such an impressive set, you guys.
00:02:07.280 We're all grown up.
00:02:09.400 Yeah, well done.
00:02:10.640 I like this.
00:02:11.680 So you got Holmes over there at third base.
00:02:14.740 Then you got Smug right next to you.
00:02:17.120 You got, is that Duncan there
00:02:18.280 and Ashbrook on over on?
00:02:20.060 I'm trying to see actually
00:02:21.080 because it's like teeny tiny in my feedback
00:02:23.180 and then Duncan.
00:02:24.300 Anyway, great, great to see you guys
00:02:26.040 all grown up and looking very professional,
00:02:28.040 very prof, except for your sweatshirts
00:02:30.880 and your baseball caps and your sunglasses
00:02:34.280 other than those things.
00:02:38.400 Nailing it.
00:02:39.000 Okay, let's let's kick it off with Hunter Biden
00:02:41.700 because today I think the New York Post
00:02:43.660 has a very interesting piece.
00:02:45.480 It's it's by the Post editorial board.
00:02:47.680 And the headline is
00:02:48.800 freeze the Hunter Biden plea deal
00:02:51.040 until we know who lied.
00:02:53.760 This is a very good point.
00:02:55.420 You know, Hunter Biden copped a plea
00:02:57.120 to his many tax infringements
00:02:59.520 and breaking of the tax laws,
00:03:00.880 as well as the gun situation
00:03:04.060 where he applied for a gun
00:03:05.120 and lied about not having a drug problem.
00:03:07.120 Misdemeanor slap on the wrist probation deal.
00:03:10.900 Anybody else, I believe,
00:03:12.200 based on the lawyers I've looked at,
00:03:13.860 I've heard it both ways.
00:03:14.480 But the ones I trust have said,
00:03:16.000 actually, most of us would be in prison
00:03:17.760 if if they had charged what he actually did.
00:03:20.280 And that's what the whistleblowers
00:03:21.480 are saying about him, too,
00:03:22.380 from the IRS who have come forward
00:03:23.520 saying any civilian
00:03:24.460 would have been charged
00:03:25.520 with multiple felonies
00:03:26.600 for what this guy did.
00:03:27.340 Well, now this is an interesting twist
00:03:31.480 on the whole thing.
00:03:33.300 Now, one of the things
00:03:34.500 the whistleblowers are saying
00:03:35.900 is that they were told
00:03:40.300 by the U.S. attorney, David Weiss,
00:03:44.200 who was investigating Hunter Biden,
00:03:46.800 that these whistleblowers were told
00:03:48.700 and at least five others were told
00:03:51.220 that Weiss said
00:03:53.380 he did not have authority
00:03:54.600 to charge Hunter Biden
00:03:55.920 anywhere outside of Delaware
00:03:57.960 and that he was denied
00:04:00.340 special counsel status.
00:04:03.280 Now, that's very interesting
00:04:05.240 because all the stuff
00:04:07.320 we're most interested in,
00:04:09.100 the stuff outside of the tax laws,
00:04:10.940 the stuff outside of the gun violations,
00:04:14.640 the corruption charges,
00:04:16.120 those would have occurred
00:04:17.160 down in Washington, D.C.
00:04:18.340 So in order to pursue charges,
00:04:19.760 you would need the ability
00:04:20.780 to charge outside of Delaware.
00:04:21.960 And this guy allegedly
00:04:25.560 allegedly from the whistleblowers
00:04:27.280 told a whole staff full of people,
00:04:29.820 I haven't been given that authority.
00:04:31.640 I'm not allowed to charge
00:04:32.600 outside of Delaware.
00:04:33.960 So the reason this is so interesting
00:04:35.980 is because the attorney general
00:04:37.780 of the United States, Merrick Garland,
00:04:39.420 as recently as Friday
00:04:40.540 said the following, quoting here,
00:04:43.780 David Weiss was allowed to, quote,
00:04:45.920 continue his investigation
00:04:47.080 and make a decision to prosecute
00:04:48.780 any way in which he wanted
00:04:50.580 and in any district
00:04:52.780 in which he wanted.
00:04:56.080 So Garland saying
00:04:57.480 he was a true special counsel,
00:04:59.240 he could have charged any crime
00:05:00.600 anywhere he wanted to.
00:05:02.440 And according to the whistleblower
00:05:03.520 in a meeting with some six people,
00:05:05.960 David Weiss said,
00:05:06.760 that's not true.
00:05:07.800 I was specifically told
00:05:08.740 I could not charge
00:05:09.580 outside of Delaware.
00:05:10.720 And the suggestion is
00:05:12.400 that's why we're not seeing
00:05:13.300 anything against Hunter Biden
00:05:14.640 on the real substance
00:05:16.200 of the corruption allegations
00:05:17.900 against him,
00:05:18.640 which dovetails nicely
00:05:20.120 with what the whistleblower
00:05:21.160 said previously,
00:05:22.000 which is that he was getting
00:05:23.780 shut down at every turn
00:05:25.360 by the attorney general's office
00:05:27.400 on any attempt
00:05:28.820 to even look into
00:05:29.840 those allegations
00:05:30.620 or Joe Biden's connection
00:05:32.540 to them.
00:05:33.600 This is the New York Post
00:05:34.480 now adding to it,
00:05:35.320 saying there is not
00:05:36.600 a chance in hell
00:05:37.400 this judge,
00:05:38.180 because the judge has to
00:05:38.860 approve the plea deal
00:05:40.080 that David Weiss
00:05:41.480 struck with Hunter Biden.
00:05:42.680 There's not a chance
00:05:43.520 in hell this judge
00:05:44.180 should do that
00:05:44.760 until we can figure out
00:05:46.120 who the hell is lying
00:05:47.300 about this investigation.
00:05:48.900 What do you guys think of it?
00:05:50.600 No, I mean, look,
00:05:51.480 that's a massive discrepancy,
00:05:53.700 a huge inconsistency there
00:05:55.540 between the attorney general
00:05:56.620 and what was conveyed
00:05:57.860 by a U.S. attorney.
00:05:59.220 And remember, I mean,
00:06:00.340 the background of this
00:06:01.320 is actually pretty important,
00:06:02.580 is that the U.S. attorney
00:06:03.600 in charge of Delaware
00:06:04.600 was the one holdover
00:06:05.940 from the Trump administration.
00:06:07.800 They have all Biden
00:06:09.080 U.S. attorneys
00:06:10.180 across the country
00:06:11.020 except for Delaware.
00:06:12.340 And the thought process
00:06:13.700 on that was
00:06:14.660 at the very beginning,
00:06:15.640 they would try to get out
00:06:16.620 beyond any reasonable
00:06:18.920 sort of hometown favor
00:06:22.440 or anything that could
00:06:23.440 potentially be alleged
00:06:25.760 as an indiscretion
00:06:26.960 against anybody prosecuting
00:06:28.340 or not prosecuting
00:06:29.960 Hunter Biden.
00:06:30.980 But if they told this guy
00:06:33.420 that he can't actually
00:06:34.400 do anything outside
00:06:35.540 of what was happening
00:06:36.680 in Delaware,
00:06:39.100 and then on the other hand,
00:06:40.060 the attorney general saying,
00:06:41.040 no, no, no,
00:06:41.420 they had full discretion,
00:06:42.560 that seems to me
00:06:43.860 to be something
00:06:44.420 that Jamie Comer
00:06:45.500 and his committee
00:06:46.080 are going to probably
00:06:46.620 get to the bottom of
00:06:47.560 because, remember,
00:06:49.020 beyond what the plea deal was
00:06:51.820 that we heard about last week,
00:06:54.020 we wouldn't know
00:06:55.500 any of this stuff
00:06:56.860 if it wasn't
00:06:57.400 for the House Oversight Committee.
00:06:59.420 And that WhatsApp message,
00:07:00.860 for example,
00:07:02.000 all of that stuff,
00:07:03.260 the payments,
00:07:04.160 the smug always talks about
00:07:05.320 from the various Chinese entities
00:07:07.920 to nine members
00:07:08.980 of the Biden family,
00:07:09.940 all of that stuff
00:07:11.160 has come through
00:07:12.080 congressional oversight.
00:07:13.680 None of that stuff
00:07:14.300 has been disclosed by DOJ.
00:07:16.040 Now, you don't expect them
00:07:16.960 in the course of an investigation
00:07:19.100 to be disclosing everything
00:07:20.140 that they come across.
00:07:21.100 But when they say
00:07:21.700 they closed something out.
00:07:22.080 Well, they did during
00:07:22.260 the Donald Trump investigation.
00:07:24.240 Exactly.
00:07:25.200 Exactly.
00:07:25.800 Well, I think that's also
00:07:26.820 a really good point.
00:07:28.640 And I think, you know,
00:07:29.300 Josh is right.
00:07:29.820 That's a very critical point
00:07:30.960 to make is
00:07:31.840 what they had hoped to happen
00:07:34.040 is they could set up
00:07:35.080 a sweetheart deal
00:07:36.080 for the president's son
00:07:37.220 and no one would notice.
00:07:38.860 The one wrinkle in their plan
00:07:40.220 was Republicans took the House.
00:07:42.340 That wasn't supposed to happen.
00:07:43.900 They had three years
00:07:44.920 of basically being left unchecked
00:07:47.020 where Hunter,
00:07:48.080 we were told that
00:07:48.980 it was Russian disinformation
00:07:50.220 that he committed
00:07:51.800 any kind of a crime.
00:07:52.900 Well, we have video on it
00:07:54.240 and people are getting banned
00:07:55.460 from social media
00:07:56.200 for posting anything,
00:07:57.780 which was, you know,
00:07:58.600 who do you trust?
00:07:59.420 Your lying eyes, the media?
00:08:00.700 Who do you trust
00:08:01.180 in that situation?
00:08:02.440 And I think this has become
00:08:04.020 very clear that
00:08:05.060 when you have a situation
00:08:05.820 that there are two sides
00:08:07.540 to this coin.
00:08:08.020 One is Hunter and his lawyer
00:08:09.280 and the other is,
00:08:10.020 you know, the attorney general
00:08:11.180 who works for his father.
00:08:12.720 How is that a fair situation?
00:08:14.300 We're seeing exactly
00:08:15.320 the result of that.
00:08:17.680 Here's two things
00:08:18.500 I wanted to tell you.
00:08:21.360 Ted Cruz on his podcast
00:08:23.820 Verdict, The Verdict,
00:08:25.080 which is good.
00:08:25.980 I enjoy it.
00:08:27.400 He was saying yesterday,
00:08:28.620 don't be fooled
00:08:29.540 into this whole,
00:08:31.020 oh, you know,
00:08:32.480 David Weiss
00:08:33.000 was a Trump administration appointee.
00:08:34.660 He points out that,
00:08:36.260 yes, out of Delaware
00:08:37.480 and in order to get
00:08:39.340 that appointment,
00:08:40.300 even under a Republican president,
00:08:41.640 you'd have to have the blessing
00:08:43.120 of both state senators,
00:08:44.300 which are who are Democrats
00:08:46.200 in Delaware.
00:08:47.180 So he's saying, yes,
00:08:48.280 the guy might have been palatable
00:08:49.680 to the Trump administration,
00:08:50.660 but there's only so,
00:08:51.800 so reasonable he could be
00:08:53.900 in the eyes of at least
00:08:55.860 people who have
00:08:56.480 a more conservative jurisprudence
00:08:57.980 because he had to get a blessing
00:09:00.140 from, you know,
00:09:01.000 people who are on,
00:09:02.540 on, you know,
00:09:03.280 of the left.
00:09:04.200 So that was an interesting point,
00:09:05.440 which I had forgotten about.
00:09:07.760 Secondly,
00:09:08.920 yes,
00:09:09.280 they,
00:09:09.600 the DOJ,
00:09:10.240 the same DOJ,
00:09:11.340 which,
00:09:11.700 you know,
00:09:12.340 has,
00:09:12.740 has been so tight lipped
00:09:13.760 about any Hunter Biden leaks,
00:09:15.920 leaked on Trump
00:09:16.620 right from the beginning.
00:09:17.960 You know,
00:09:18.140 how did the New York Times
00:09:18.880 know the raid was happening?
00:09:19.820 How did everybody know that,
00:09:20.580 right?
00:09:20.700 Like they've been leaking
00:09:21.860 over and over
00:09:22.820 and except one thing
00:09:24.680 that they haven't leaked,
00:09:25.860 which is very interesting,
00:09:26.740 is,
00:09:27.800 you know,
00:09:27.940 if you read the indictment,
00:09:28.660 it talks about
00:09:29.140 the terrible nuclear secrets
00:09:30.600 that Trump has been hoarding
00:09:31.560 down at Mar-a-Lago.
00:09:32.480 Well,
00:09:32.640 why haven't they leaked?
00:09:34.280 Why?
00:09:34.620 I mean,
00:09:34.840 yes,
00:09:35.060 you're not going to tell
00:09:35.620 exactly all of our nuclear,
00:09:37.000 but they would have gotten
00:09:38.040 more specific in the leaks
00:09:39.300 if they had something
00:09:40.420 that really made them look bad.
00:09:41.560 They would.
00:09:42.780 They've proven that.
00:09:43.980 And the fact that
00:09:44.560 they just want to scare us
00:09:45.500 with the rhetoric
00:09:46.060 that's being used
00:09:46.900 tells me
00:09:47.520 they're trying to sort of
00:09:48.840 amp it up.
00:09:50.000 If they really had
00:09:51.200 a dead to rights document,
00:09:52.720 they would have leaked it.
00:09:53.980 It would have been leaked to CNN.
00:09:55.460 It would have been leaked
00:09:55.960 to Maggie Haberman.
00:09:57.240 We would know
00:09:57.840 more specifically
00:09:58.620 without actually compromising
00:09:59.960 our secrets
00:10:00.620 what exactly they had.
00:10:02.320 So this DOJ
00:10:03.100 is in it
00:10:04.280 up to their necks.
00:10:05.440 Here's the last point
00:10:06.100 and then I'll give it back
00:10:06.640 to you guys.
00:10:07.780 Via the Code of Federal Regulations,
00:10:09.680 special prosecutor jurisdiction,
00:10:11.680 the jurisdiction
00:10:12.160 of a special counsel
00:10:13.100 shall be established
00:10:14.460 by the attorney general.
00:10:16.520 And then it goes on.
00:10:17.400 If in the course
00:10:18.080 of his investigation,
00:10:19.340 the special counsel
00:10:20.020 concludes that
00:10:20.740 additional jurisdiction
00:10:21.680 beyond the specified
00:10:22.720 jurisdiction
00:10:23.720 in the original jurisdiction
00:10:26.520 provided to him
00:10:27.100 is necessary,
00:10:28.140 he shall consult
00:10:28.740 with the attorney general
00:10:29.600 who will determine
00:10:30.460 whether to include
00:10:32.040 the additional matters
00:10:33.020 within the special counsel
00:10:34.180 jurisdiction
00:10:34.660 or assign them elsewhere.
00:10:36.420 So, you know,
00:10:37.840 Merrick Garland is saying,
00:10:39.120 I told this guy
00:10:40.720 he could take this
00:10:42.020 in any direction he wanted
00:10:43.320 and he could prosecute
00:10:44.400 in any district
00:10:45.780 in which he wanted to,
00:10:48.360 thus having the same effect
00:10:49.860 as a special counsel.
00:10:51.080 And now it appears
00:10:52.100 that isn't true.
00:10:53.500 So the question is,
00:10:54.360 what should happen?
00:10:55.400 Kevin McCarthy
00:10:55.940 suggesting yesterday,
00:10:57.520 maybe we're going
00:10:58.020 to impeach Merrick Garland.
00:10:59.360 If he's the one lying,
00:11:01.180 he might get impeached.
00:11:02.520 And if he wasn't lying,
00:11:04.280 then it just proves
00:11:05.300 this guy, David Weiss,
00:11:06.620 lied to a group full of people
00:11:07.960 and half-assed the investigation.
00:11:11.480 Yeah, no question about it.
00:11:14.180 I mean, this is,
00:11:15.200 this is the core of the issue
00:11:17.700 because ultimately
00:11:18.980 it's one thing
00:11:19.920 about Hunter Biden
00:11:20.760 and you got him on tax
00:11:21.700 and a federal gun charge.
00:11:23.860 The problem is where
00:11:24.880 this ultimately leads, right?
00:11:26.560 I mean, this is what
00:11:27.420 we've talked about.
00:11:28.140 Well, if you look
00:11:29.420 at that decision,
00:11:31.020 this plea deal
00:11:32.040 with Hunter Biden,
00:11:33.080 they, you know,
00:11:34.160 we've talked about
00:11:34.860 on the show
00:11:35.400 that they also discuss
00:11:37.060 in there that
00:11:37.540 there is an ongoing investigation
00:11:39.340 and a cynic
00:11:40.500 might look at that
00:11:41.220 and say, well,
00:11:42.260 you know,
00:11:42.560 if there's an ongoing investigation
00:11:43.720 that's related
00:11:44.320 to all these other
00:11:45.060 potential crimes,
00:11:46.080 that's going to seal
00:11:47.040 those records
00:11:47.600 so that people can actually
00:11:48.520 see everything
00:11:49.300 that is there in evidence.
00:11:50.900 But I guess it's also possible
00:11:52.240 that those things
00:11:53.580 are yet to come, right?
00:11:55.320 But again,
00:11:55.880 back to the whole point
00:11:56.660 of taking the House,
00:11:57.500 it's like none of this
00:11:58.240 would really come to light
00:11:59.140 in the first place
00:11:59.800 if it wasn't for
00:12:01.000 Kevin McCarthy
00:12:02.140 and Comer
00:12:03.480 putting out
00:12:04.080 things like the WhatsApp,
00:12:05.540 you know?
00:12:05.880 That's right.
00:12:06.400 You know, I mean,
00:12:06.960 like we would have no idea
00:12:08.080 where this was going.
00:12:09.020 And if you read
00:12:09.820 that WhatsApp message
00:12:10.840 where Hunter Biden
00:12:11.980 clearly says
00:12:12.680 to this Chinese businessman,
00:12:14.520 like he does it
00:12:15.640 the way I talk
00:12:16.260 to my toddler
00:12:16.920 when I count to five
00:12:18.060 for him to eat his dinner.
00:12:20.140 He's like,
00:12:20.720 I am here with my father.
00:12:22.580 Like, I need an answer now
00:12:23.900 from you.
00:12:25.240 He's like,
00:12:25.900 he's like typing out
00:12:26.880 in case anybody wants to know
00:12:28.220 I'm extorting
00:12:28.940 and committing a crime
00:12:29.780 right now
00:12:30.240 and I'm sitting next
00:12:30.980 to the former Vice President
00:12:32.040 of the United States.
00:12:32.760 Like, how did that
00:12:33.740 not come out before?
00:12:35.160 And we have, you know,
00:12:35.820 obviously Jamie Comer
00:12:36.700 to thank for that.
00:12:37.640 Well, I'm sure that the media
00:12:38.980 was working really hard
00:12:40.100 to uncover.
00:12:40.900 They seem like they were
00:12:41.600 busting their tails,
00:12:43.160 don't they?
00:12:43.780 Just really doing it.
00:12:45.320 Yeah.
00:12:46.100 It's unbelievable.
00:12:46.900 It's incredible.
00:12:47.480 Well, the thing,
00:12:48.640 I mean, this is like,
00:12:49.360 this stinks to high heaven
00:12:50.420 because there's been
00:12:51.620 a lot of pressure
00:12:52.200 on the Attorney General
00:12:53.960 to appoint a special counsel
00:12:55.400 in the first place
00:12:56.200 to investigate Hunter Biden
00:12:57.260 to make sure
00:12:57.900 and Joe Biden
00:12:58.820 and this whole thing
00:12:59.540 to make sure
00:13:00.180 that they didn't really
00:13:02.000 have,
00:13:03.560 that there was
00:13:04.020 a level of independence
00:13:05.380 to actually look into this.
00:13:06.980 And then Garland's
00:13:07.780 trying to reassure people
00:13:08.640 saying he was basically
00:13:10.000 a special counsel.
00:13:11.060 Like, he wasn't exactly,
00:13:12.400 but I gave him full authority
00:13:13.700 to charge this guy
00:13:15.260 and investigate this case
00:13:16.520 in any jurisdiction
00:13:17.840 in the United States,
00:13:19.300 including Washington, D.C.,
00:13:21.100 which is where he allegedly
00:13:22.480 did all the bad,
00:13:23.300 the really bad stuff
00:13:24.180 that we're talking about here,
00:13:25.760 the corruption stuff.
00:13:27.500 And yet it doesn't appear
00:13:29.120 to be true.
00:13:30.060 And in fact,
00:13:30.640 the whistleblower
00:13:31.620 goes on to say
00:13:32.460 that the Biden-appointed
00:13:34.500 D.C. U.S. attorney,
00:13:36.140 the guy for D.C.,
00:13:37.100 Matthew Graves,
00:13:38.260 specifically said,
00:13:39.420 Weiss may not charge
00:13:41.080 in my district.
00:13:42.080 He was like, no.
00:13:42.900 He said he would not allow
00:13:44.080 Weiss to charge
00:13:44.700 in his district.
00:13:45.320 And there was testimony
00:13:45.940 that Weiss was turned down
00:13:47.560 in other districts as well,
00:13:48.920 according to the whistleblower.
00:13:50.140 So Weiss was having real trouble
00:13:51.660 getting any other prosecutor
00:13:52.900 to help him out
00:13:53.540 because if he didn't have
00:13:54.520 the authority
00:13:54.960 to charge in another district,
00:13:56.120 he needed the help
00:13:57.160 of the sitting
00:13:57.700 federal prosecutors
00:13:59.180 in those districts.
00:13:59.880 And it looks like
00:14:00.500 at every turn
00:14:00.980 they were giving him
00:14:01.580 the middle finger,
00:14:02.540 despite Merrick Garland's
00:14:03.960 testimony under oath
00:14:05.740 that he allowed it.
00:14:08.060 So which is it?
00:14:10.100 I mean, that's exactly the point.
00:14:11.680 And it also explains
00:14:12.600 why Weiss would tell investigators
00:14:14.840 that ultimately
00:14:15.560 he can't go down that road.
00:14:17.160 I mean, if he's actually
00:14:17.920 requested to make,
00:14:19.200 you know,
00:14:20.520 some kind of charges
00:14:21.780 within anybody else's district
00:14:23.460 and was denied.
00:14:24.960 Yeah, I mean,
00:14:25.460 his hands are sort of tied.
00:14:27.380 I think the biggest issue here,
00:14:29.020 you're right that Garland,
00:14:30.800 whether or not
00:14:31.440 any of this was true
00:14:32.600 is like the core of the issue.
00:14:33.900 But ultimately,
00:14:34.520 it's about where it leads.
00:14:36.500 And you have to believe
00:14:37.900 that the Jamie Comer evidence
00:14:39.920 that he has uncovered
00:14:41.120 was known to DOJ.
00:14:43.380 I mean, if they did
00:14:43.940 even just a cursory
00:14:45.220 search through WhatsApp
00:14:48.100 and text messages
00:14:49.200 or whatever,
00:14:50.000 they would have stumbled
00:14:50.700 upon the same thing
00:14:51.460 the Oversight Committee did.
00:14:52.660 And ultimately,
00:14:53.720 what that says,
00:14:55.240 and now we've learned
00:14:56.100 from the Washington Examiner
00:14:57.600 that Joe Biden
00:14:58.660 was actually in the same house
00:15:00.140 as Hunter Biden
00:15:00.800 when that WhatsApp message
00:15:04.040 suggesting that
00:15:04.900 they were together
00:15:05.540 happened,
00:15:07.300 it means that
00:15:08.680 the President of the United States
00:15:09.560 is a much, much,
00:15:10.560 much bigger thing
00:15:12.120 to answer here for
00:15:13.240 than whatever
00:15:14.160 Hunter Biden's tax crimes
00:15:15.440 might be.
00:15:16.200 Because you remember,
00:15:17.200 it's not just
00:15:18.060 misleading the American people,
00:15:19.840 lying to the American people
00:15:20.780 about your involvement
00:15:22.020 in foreign business dealings,
00:15:23.400 saying that you were never
00:15:24.160 involved in Hunter Biden's business.
00:15:25.920 All that stuff
00:15:26.780 is just sort of rhetorical.
00:15:28.400 This is about also
00:15:29.520 financial disclosures
00:15:31.020 that you make
00:15:31.760 as a President of the United States.
00:15:33.600 There's a whole bunch
00:15:34.660 of like big ticket issues
00:15:36.480 that if you are lying on,
00:15:38.940 there are actual
00:15:39.740 legal ramifications for
00:15:41.540 in addition to the tax issues,
00:15:43.380 whatever they may be.
00:15:44.360 So I think that this thing
00:15:46.200 ballooned pretty quickly
00:15:48.200 beyond anything
00:15:49.420 that they could have imagined
00:15:50.520 the tax implications
00:15:52.620 of Hunter Biden quickly.
00:15:54.900 And they try to put a top on it.
00:15:56.460 There's no other explanation for me
00:15:58.440 as to how it just sort of
00:15:59.780 stopped with Hunter.
00:16:01.200 And I think that's
00:16:01.760 especially important
00:16:02.760 because for so long
00:16:04.120 you've had folks on the left
00:16:05.280 and the media
00:16:05.860 carrying the message of,
00:16:07.520 oh, well,
00:16:07.900 I didn't vote for Hunter Biden.
00:16:09.680 Hunter Biden is not,
00:16:10.720 you know,
00:16:10.860 the President of the United States.
00:16:11.980 This is no longer
00:16:13.220 a Hunter Biden issue.
00:16:14.360 This is a Joe Biden issue.
00:16:15.860 We now have,
00:16:16.520 we've had evidence
00:16:17.340 that he had the keys
00:16:18.340 to the office
00:16:18.960 that Hunter Biden
00:16:19.620 is operating
00:16:20.400 this influence peddling scheme
00:16:21.940 out of.
00:16:22.920 We now have evidence
00:16:23.920 that he's in the room
00:16:25.240 while his son
00:16:26.000 is demanding
00:16:27.200 that a Chinese national
00:16:28.860 wire the money immediately.
00:16:30.440 And he promises
00:16:31.500 if you don't send me the money,
00:16:33.800 me and my father
00:16:35.280 will remember
00:16:36.300 and we will come down
00:16:37.340 on you for it.
00:16:37.980 This is like,
00:16:38.620 you know,
00:16:38.940 if you're tapping
00:16:39.900 Tony Soprano.
00:16:41.340 His lawyer was like,
00:16:43.200 hey, no,
00:16:43.540 he was on crack.
00:16:44.360 Yeah,
00:16:44.640 I mean,
00:16:44.960 it was not crack.
00:16:45.820 I can't listen to anything.
00:16:46.740 He was,
00:16:47.000 it was a crack.
00:16:47.660 And we also have a record
00:16:48.940 of some of the things going on.
00:16:50.200 doesn't excuse anything.
00:16:52.080 But I will say
00:16:53.480 in Joe Biden's defense,
00:16:55.260 it is possible
00:16:56.080 that Joe Biden
00:16:57.280 was upstairs
00:16:58.180 in the shower
00:16:59.120 and Hunter Biden
00:17:00.320 was downstairs
00:17:00.920 on the couch.
00:17:01.600 Like,
00:17:02.140 yo,
00:17:02.300 my dad's right next to me.
00:17:03.700 You know,
00:17:03.940 like he's right here.
00:17:04.760 Like,
00:17:05.100 I don't put
00:17:05.960 too much stock
00:17:07.220 in Hunter Biden.
00:17:08.120 You know,
00:17:08.260 he might have just said it
00:17:09.340 to threaten him
00:17:09.920 because he knew
00:17:10.400 his word
00:17:11.240 was absolutely
00:17:12.020 fucking useless.
00:17:13.500 And so it was like,
00:17:13.940 my daddy's here.
00:17:15.120 Him,
00:17:15.380 you need to care about.
00:17:16.200 That is,
00:17:16.640 that is a possibility.
00:17:18.920 But it's,
00:17:19.920 we should know.
00:17:20.840 Let's probe it.
00:17:21.600 Let's figure out.
00:17:22.540 We don't,
00:17:22.960 nobody's even asked.
00:17:24.460 And so far,
00:17:24.880 we just get Joe Biden
00:17:25.760 kind of smirking
00:17:27.000 and laughing at us
00:17:28.320 like this is all made up.
00:17:30.600 Go ahead,
00:17:30.980 Michael.
00:17:31.320 I interrupt you.
00:17:32.240 There's a precedent
00:17:33.020 for this sort of behavior
00:17:33.960 because I agree with you,
00:17:34.840 Megan.
00:17:35.020 We talked about this
00:17:35.880 on the show
00:17:36.300 in the last episode.
00:17:36.980 Like,
00:17:37.300 look,
00:17:37.480 he could have just
00:17:38.040 been pretending
00:17:38.700 that Joe Biden
00:17:39.740 was sitting there
00:17:40.220 next to him
00:17:40.780 so he could try to,
00:17:41.740 you know,
00:17:42.000 get this thing done.
00:17:43.220 But go back to
00:17:44.520 when he was sitting
00:17:45.440 on the board
00:17:45.780 of that Ukrainian
00:17:46.700 natural gas company,
00:17:48.080 Burisma,
00:17:48.800 and Joe Biden
00:17:49.780 is on tape
00:17:50.720 talking about
00:17:51.500 withholding aid
00:17:52.220 to Ukraine
00:17:52.820 because of this
00:17:53.980 prosecutor
00:17:55.360 who happened
00:17:55.880 to be investigating
00:17:56.660 the company
00:17:57.160 that his son
00:17:58.360 sits on the board of,
00:17:59.420 right?
00:17:59.740 And so you have
00:18:00.660 a demonstration
00:18:01.560 of previous behavior
00:18:02.980 in which Joe Biden
00:18:04.140 and Hunter Biden
00:18:05.940 colluded
00:18:06.680 to try to impact
00:18:07.820 a political decision.
00:18:09.160 Also,
00:18:09.360 by the way,
00:18:09.900 they impeached
00:18:10.480 Donald Trump
00:18:11.000 for doing pretty much
00:18:11.760 the same thing.
00:18:12.900 So,
00:18:13.560 it's wild.
00:18:15.820 And also,
00:18:16.740 you have separate
00:18:17.580 points of data
00:18:18.380 that you can look at
00:18:19.340 to put this whole case together
00:18:20.800 which is becoming
00:18:21.540 increasingly clear
00:18:22.420 that what's happening here
00:18:23.300 is independently,
00:18:25.700 the United States
00:18:26.240 Treasury puts out
00:18:27.000 suspicious activity reports
00:18:28.220 saying that nine members
00:18:29.420 of the Biden family
00:18:30.200 are having money
00:18:30.980 wired to them
00:18:31.560 from China.
00:18:32.600 Is that just
00:18:33.420 a random coincidence
00:18:34.680 that,
00:18:35.340 okay,
00:18:35.600 well,
00:18:35.860 this guy is sending
00:18:36.620 messages to Chinese
00:18:37.420 nationals
00:18:37.840 trying to extort them
00:18:38.620 and then millions
00:18:39.560 of dollars
00:18:39.900 start getting wired
00:18:40.560 from China?
00:18:41.060 It's like,
00:18:41.600 what,
00:18:41.780 did you just win
00:18:42.220 the lottery
00:18:42.740 except in China?
00:18:43.660 That's just
00:18:44.300 a random coincidence?
00:18:46.000 And then Hunter Biden
00:18:47.520 got that $5 million
00:18:48.600 within 10 days
00:18:50.860 of that WhatsApp message.
00:18:52.460 That's pretty incriminating.
00:18:54.240 That's a pretty good fact
00:18:55.720 if you want to go after him
00:18:57.220 and say that message
00:18:58.260 did happen
00:18:58.940 and they were up to no good.
00:19:00.940 Now,
00:19:01.060 I wanted to say,
00:19:02.440 correct one thing I said,
00:19:04.960 the Garland statements
00:19:06.380 were not under oath.
00:19:07.240 They were from a DOJ presser.
00:19:09.040 Take a listen to how
00:19:09.640 Merrick Garland
00:19:10.160 characterized all this
00:19:11.120 on Friday
00:19:12.180 when he was responding
00:19:13.300 to some of these
00:19:13.960 whistleblower allegations.
00:19:15.740 Okay,
00:19:15.900 this is Biden.
00:19:16.900 As I said at the outlet,
00:19:17.900 Mr. David Weiss,
00:19:19.000 who was appointed
00:19:19.460 by President Trump
00:19:20.340 as the U.S. Attorney in Delaware
00:19:21.520 and assigned this matter
00:19:22.480 during a previous administration,
00:19:24.100 would be permitted
00:19:24.880 to continue his investigation
00:19:26.020 and make a decision
00:19:26.880 to prosecute
00:19:27.500 any way in which he wanted
00:19:28.900 and in any district
00:19:30.620 in which he wanted to.
00:19:31.900 Then he goes on to say this.
00:19:33.480 I don't know
00:19:34.120 how it would be possible
00:19:35.200 for anybody to block him
00:19:36.940 from bringing a prosecution
00:19:38.520 given that he had,
00:19:40.420 that he has this authority.
00:19:42.540 He was given complete authority
00:19:44.500 to make all decisions
00:19:46.080 on his own.
00:19:47.260 So he's saying
00:19:48.060 he could not have been blocked
00:19:49.240 from bringing a prosecution.
00:19:51.180 This is Garland saying this
00:19:52.400 and the whistleblower
00:19:54.340 saying exactly the opposite,
00:19:56.260 that they were told
00:19:57.480 he, the whistleblower,
00:19:59.220 and several others,
00:20:00.040 Baltimore FBI
00:20:00.840 special agent in charge,
00:20:02.560 assistant special agent
00:20:03.460 in charge,
00:20:04.180 another woman,
00:20:05.220 an IRS special agent
00:20:06.420 in charge,
00:20:07.140 Sean,
00:20:07.480 he goes on,
00:20:08.400 he names them,
00:20:09.200 that they were all told
00:20:10.060 by this guy Weiss
00:20:10.980 he lacked authority
00:20:12.240 to charge Hunter Biden
00:20:13.440 outside of Delaware
00:20:14.380 and was denies.
00:20:15.360 Okay, so there is
00:20:16.940 a direct diversion there.
00:20:18.840 I just wanted to make sure
00:20:19.780 people understand
00:20:20.540 there's no question
00:20:21.800 that there's a split
00:20:22.680 between what the whistleblower
00:20:24.500 is saying actually happened
00:20:25.660 and what Merrick Garland
00:20:26.620 is saying actually happened.
00:20:27.900 Hence the calls now
00:20:29.400 for this federal judge
00:20:30.440 to not approve this plea deal
00:20:32.280 until we figure it out.
00:20:33.900 That conversation
00:20:34.720 in the WhatsApp thing
00:20:35.500 I think would have happened
00:20:36.200 in Delaware.
00:20:37.160 But the stuff in D.C.,
00:20:38.640 which is outside
00:20:39.620 of David Weiss's jurisdiction,
00:20:41.000 according to the whistleblower,
00:20:42.360 includes Hunter was apparently
00:20:44.280 living in D.C.
00:20:45.000 when the issues
00:20:45.580 with the foreign income
00:20:46.320 from Burisma took place
00:20:48.680 and the scheme
00:20:49.080 to evade his income taxes
00:20:50.240 also took place.
00:20:51.140 So D.C. is relevant
00:20:52.260 among potentially
00:20:53.080 other jurisdictions.
00:20:54.300 It just gets more
00:20:55.300 and more complicated.
00:20:56.680 And honestly, you're right.
00:20:58.100 If the if the Republicans
00:20:59.460 hadn't eked out
00:21:00.440 that victory, guys,
00:21:02.000 we would know none of this
00:21:03.280 because the press
00:21:04.140 none of it usually
00:21:04.920 are the ones
00:21:05.500 to sniff this kind
00:21:06.480 of stuff out
00:21:07.120 has zero interest
00:21:08.460 in this story still
00:21:09.480 even today.
00:21:11.040 And what you ask yourself,
00:21:12.800 why?
00:21:13.360 Well, you know,
00:21:14.140 because there were
00:21:15.220 all Democrats
00:21:16.040 and you know
00:21:16.940 that if Hunter Biden
00:21:17.760 were a Republican,
00:21:18.560 Joe Biden were a Republican,
00:21:19.760 that the press
00:21:20.860 would have been all over this
00:21:22.040 in the lead up
00:21:22.640 to the investigation.
00:21:23.440 And if these
00:21:24.340 if the investigation
00:21:25.120 wasn't going
00:21:25.940 in the direction
00:21:26.760 strong enough,
00:21:27.540 you know,
00:21:27.740 the press would be
00:21:28.500 holding Department
00:21:29.200 of Justice accountable.
00:21:30.880 I mean, we've talked
00:21:31.440 about this endlessly
00:21:32.840 on the show.
00:21:33.580 It's one of the most
00:21:34.080 demoralizing aspects
00:21:35.300 to the press right now
00:21:36.500 is that they are
00:21:37.720 they're biased.
00:21:38.500 What has been biased
00:21:39.780 for years is just
00:21:40.460 getting worse
00:21:41.120 and worse and worse.
00:21:42.780 We had to talk
00:21:43.340 for two years
00:21:44.060 about a meeting
00:21:44.660 in Trump Tower
00:21:45.240 that Don Jr.
00:21:46.060 happened to be in.
00:21:47.200 Yeah, right.
00:21:47.620 Yeah.
00:21:47.780 You know what I mean?
00:21:48.340 Well, the other thing
00:21:48.980 is, though, sourcing.
00:21:50.100 Yeah.
00:21:50.260 Right.
00:21:50.560 I mean, the part
00:21:51.740 of the problem
00:21:52.140 we found with Russiagate
00:21:53.180 and everything else
00:21:53.880 after five years
00:21:55.480 of ruining our country
00:21:56.400 over it is that
00:21:57.480 the FBI,
00:21:58.560 people in the FBI,
00:22:00.440 people in the intel services
00:22:01.800 were actively providing
00:22:03.080 the press information
00:22:04.080 that turned out
00:22:05.240 not to be the truth.
00:22:06.500 Right.
00:22:07.100 And I think
00:22:07.860 what we're seeing here
00:22:08.720 is that there is
00:22:09.460 no interest.
00:22:11.000 Right.
00:22:11.320 I mean, the same time
00:22:12.420 we're getting all kinds
00:22:13.200 of audio leaks
00:22:14.000 of Donald Trump,
00:22:15.060 we're not seeing
00:22:16.220 any leaks
00:22:17.360 of anything
00:22:18.220 pertaining to
00:22:19.200 Hunter Biden
00:22:19.960 and Joe Biden.
00:22:20.960 And you again,
00:22:21.720 why?
00:22:22.200 Yeah.
00:22:22.280 You look at how
00:22:22.880 they frame
00:22:23.400 these Hunter Biden
00:22:24.140 stories.
00:22:24.740 It's Republicans
00:22:25.460 pounce on latest
00:22:27.100 Hunter Biden activity.
00:22:28.540 It's not it's not
00:22:29.420 that Hunter Biden
00:22:30.040 did something wrong.
00:22:31.280 And then when they
00:22:31.740 talk about his guilty
00:22:33.080 plea,
00:22:33.740 it's like,
00:22:35.440 oh, it's all over
00:22:36.140 here.
00:22:36.560 Yeah.
00:22:36.800 Yeah.
00:22:37.040 Right.
00:22:37.460 This this this
00:22:38.620 hurts the Republican
00:22:40.700 claim that there
00:22:41.780 are two systems
00:22:42.400 of justice
00:22:42.980 and like all of it
00:22:44.840 is a Democrat
00:22:45.420 guilty plea.
00:22:46.800 These whistleblowers
00:22:47.760 have come out
00:22:48.180 since the guilty plea.
00:22:49.620 The WhatsApp message.
00:22:50.480 All of this is happening
00:22:51.160 because these whistleblowers
00:22:52.040 are pissed off
00:22:53.140 at what was done.
00:22:54.980 They're telling us
00:22:55.580 the truth about
00:22:56.300 what led up
00:22:56.920 to these guilty pleas
00:22:57.860 and how inept
00:22:59.140 they are,
00:22:59.660 how insufficient
00:23:00.640 they are,
00:23:01.180 given the evidence
00:23:01.700 the IRS had against him
00:23:02.940 in the in the lane
00:23:04.920 charged and in others.
00:23:06.400 And you're exactly right
00:23:07.460 because we talked
00:23:08.560 about this a little bit
00:23:09.320 yesterday.
00:23:09.680 The press,
00:23:10.680 Claire McCaskill
00:23:11.560 on MSNBC,
00:23:13.060 Nick Kristof
00:23:13.720 of The New York Times,
00:23:15.280 all trying to push
00:23:16.040 this into Hunter's
00:23:17.120 drug problem.
00:23:17.920 This is all about
00:23:18.540 that.
00:23:19.280 That's not an excuse.
00:23:20.780 That doesn't excuse
00:23:21.980 criminality
00:23:23.040 in any lane.
00:23:24.780 But here we go.
00:23:25.980 We got more of it
00:23:26.580 from Anna Navarro
00:23:27.320 on The View.
00:23:28.440 Listen to this person.
00:23:30.000 The Hunter Biden story,
00:23:33.820 the scandal,
00:23:34.920 the this,
00:23:35.300 the that,
00:23:35.620 it's also the story
00:23:36.900 of a father's love.
00:23:38.760 And Joe Biden
00:23:39.380 has never
00:23:40.080 and will never
00:23:41.040 give up on his son,
00:23:42.440 Hunter,
00:23:43.580 and will never
00:23:44.200 treat him lesser than.
00:23:45.720 And so he is
00:23:46.420 a father first.
00:23:47.680 Take it or leave it.
00:23:50.040 Yes.
00:23:50.640 Yes.
00:23:50.920 Serving on
00:23:51.720 Ukrainian natural gas
00:23:53.500 boards,
00:23:54.580 smoking crack
00:23:55.260 with prostitutes
00:23:56.100 and throwing guns
00:23:56.820 into school zones.
00:23:57.940 There but for the grace
00:23:58.780 of God go I.
00:24:00.000 Are you kidding me?
00:24:03.120 But he shows up
00:24:04.360 at a state dinner,
00:24:05.440 right?
00:24:06.040 That's the thing.
00:24:06.960 Yeah.
00:24:07.480 You can't simultaneously
00:24:08.460 say that this
00:24:09.640 son of mine
00:24:11.380 is deeply troubled
00:24:12.760 and has all kinds
00:24:13.740 of things in his life
00:24:14.700 that's regrettable.
00:24:15.660 And, you know,
00:24:16.400 unfortunately,
00:24:16.900 that's his problem.
00:24:18.140 And then have him
00:24:18.780 show up in Beijing
00:24:19.680 with you
00:24:20.280 during the course
00:24:21.160 of your vice presidency
00:24:22.700 and show up
00:24:23.800 on Ukrainian boards
00:24:24.880 during the course
00:24:25.780 of your vice presidency.
00:24:27.080 And then when you
00:24:27.780 become president,
00:24:28.560 he's the bell
00:24:29.160 of the ball
00:24:29.680 at every state dinner.
00:24:30.800 It's what Smug
00:24:31.540 often talks about
00:24:32.520 on the show
00:24:32.980 that this isn't
00:24:33.580 about hypocrisy.
00:24:34.620 We obviously know
00:24:35.220 it's hypocrisy,
00:24:36.000 but it's hierarchy.
00:24:37.720 They're laughing
00:24:38.560 in our faces.
00:24:39.480 This is a guy
00:24:40.160 who's being accused
00:24:41.260 of influence peddling
00:24:42.680 in foreign countries
00:24:43.500 and taking money
00:24:44.380 from China,
00:24:45.480 taking money
00:24:45.980 from this corrupt
00:24:46.820 Ukrainian gas company
00:24:48.680 and all of this
00:24:49.200 sort of stuff.
00:24:49.760 And he's showing up
00:24:50.740 at official events
00:24:52.620 with foreign dignitaries
00:24:53.620 in front of us.
00:24:54.300 They're laughing at us.
00:24:55.080 That's what she was
00:24:56.420 actually commenting on.
00:24:57.600 Anna Navarro
00:24:57.980 was responding
00:24:58.760 to the blowback
00:24:59.460 against Biden
00:25:00.240 for including
00:25:01.000 Hunter Biden
00:25:01.600 in the state dinner.
00:25:02.420 Like, they don't care.
00:25:03.280 That just shows
00:25:03.960 his love for his son.
00:25:05.280 You can love your child
00:25:06.900 and still recognize
00:25:08.000 it would be inappropriate
00:25:09.120 given the circumstances
00:25:10.380 to bring him
00:25:11.400 to something
00:25:12.200 that is not
00:25:12.740 your private party.
00:25:14.480 It's not your private party,
00:25:15.980 Joe Biden.
00:25:16.760 It's our party.
00:25:17.660 It's the United States.
00:25:19.000 It's America.
00:25:19.760 And Hunter Biden
00:25:20.580 should not have been there.
00:25:22.480 Yeah, she never talked
00:25:24.220 about President Trump's
00:25:26.260 relationship with Don Jr.
00:25:27.460 I mean, if he had written
00:25:28.340 a text to the Chinese,
00:25:30.420 whoever,
00:25:31.300 I mean, they would have
00:25:32.080 been all over it.
00:25:33.300 I've been over.
00:25:34.760 It's like Bill Clinton
00:25:35.940 bringing Monica Lewinsky
00:25:37.800 to family dinner.
00:25:39.960 It's like,
00:25:40.660 it's just badly absurd.
00:25:42.780 And I have to get a new dress
00:25:44.440 for that occasion, though.
00:25:45.760 And the attempt
00:25:46.440 to brush this off
00:25:47.300 is like, oh,
00:25:48.040 this is a story
00:25:49.020 about addiction.
00:25:50.140 Oh, this is a tragic story
00:25:51.460 about addiction.
00:25:52.400 I don't think everyone
00:25:53.440 who gets addicted
00:25:54.180 to smoking crack
00:25:55.240 starts selling,
00:25:56.320 you know,
00:25:56.660 influence to the Chinese.
00:25:57.780 That's not like part
00:25:58.420 and parcel of like
00:25:59.080 your third day smoking crack.
00:26:00.640 You're getting wired
00:26:01.160 five million dollars.
00:26:02.180 It's a very big crash.
00:26:04.800 And as you guys pointed out,
00:26:06.560 it's also the question
00:26:07.480 of not just Hunter,
00:26:08.660 but Joe.
00:26:09.120 You know,
00:26:09.560 this is such a convenient way
00:26:10.840 of deflecting
00:26:12.200 from the questions
00:26:13.000 about what Joe Biden's role was,
00:26:15.300 whether he got
00:26:16.000 that alleged
00:26:16.760 five million dollar payment
00:26:17.860 outlined in that FBI
00:26:18.960 informant document,
00:26:20.120 the 1023.
00:26:20.680 and what else
00:26:22.260 he may or may not
00:26:22.880 have gotten.
00:26:24.440 Because because it's
00:26:25.420 one of two things,
00:26:26.260 very clearly,
00:26:26.800 it's one of two things.
00:26:28.160 Either one,
00:26:29.680 Hunter was unscrupulously
00:26:31.620 parading
00:26:32.900 and his father's
00:26:34.460 good name
00:26:35.140 in front of
00:26:36.320 foreign nationals
00:26:37.160 to try to extort
00:26:38.020 them out of money
00:26:38.720 that God knows
00:26:39.560 he couldn't earn
00:26:40.420 unless they were
00:26:41.260 trying to tap
00:26:41.820 his expertise
00:26:42.500 on tie hookers
00:26:43.580 or crack rock.
00:26:44.680 or Joe Biden
00:26:47.800 knew he was
00:26:48.940 parading his name
00:26:49.760 around these people
00:26:50.740 and was perhaps
00:26:52.540 doing something
00:26:53.500 about it.
00:26:54.420 It's all part of
00:26:55.020 the love story.
00:26:55.680 One of those two things.
00:26:57.320 Well,
00:26:57.560 it's a love story,
00:26:58.680 May.
00:26:58.800 It's a father's love.
00:27:00.020 We all know that.
00:27:02.900 Everyone should be
00:27:03.660 so lucky
00:27:04.160 as to have a father
00:27:05.180 who happens to be
00:27:05.960 vice president
00:27:06.860 or president
00:27:07.620 and opens the doors,
00:27:09.060 greases the skids
00:27:09.920 for millions of dollars
00:27:11.160 to come from
00:27:11.780 our enemies.
00:27:12.860 All right,
00:27:13.020 let's pause there.
00:27:13.780 When we come back,
00:27:14.320 let's talk about
00:27:14.900 the Trump tape.
00:27:15.680 We'll play it in full
00:27:16.460 and discuss
00:27:17.600 what it means.
00:27:18.780 The guys from
00:27:19.480 Ruthless
00:27:20.140 stay with us
00:27:21.000 for the show.
00:27:25.120 Yesterday,
00:27:25.600 when I came back
00:27:26.040 from my two-week vacation,
00:27:27.380 I gave the audience
00:27:27.980 my take on
00:27:28.660 this whole prosecution.
00:27:30.020 In any prosecution,
00:27:31.060 there is something
00:27:31.420 called prosecutorial
00:27:32.320 discretion.
00:27:33.360 And even if you know
00:27:34.060 you have the guy,
00:27:35.420 you got to decide
00:27:36.200 whether to actually
00:27:36.900 bring the charges.
00:27:38.240 Charging a former
00:27:38.960 president of the United States
00:27:40.060 would require
00:27:40.640 a very serious
00:27:41.960 exercise
00:27:43.340 of that discretion
00:27:44.640 on whether
00:27:45.860 it's worth
00:27:46.560 putting the country
00:27:47.420 through the kind
00:27:49.020 of tumult
00:27:49.720 that would result
00:27:50.420 in this kind
00:27:51.200 of charge.
00:27:52.000 I don't think
00:27:52.760 this was the case
00:27:53.680 for all sorts
00:27:54.380 of reasons,
00:27:54.820 not just the country's
00:27:55.980 sake,
00:27:56.260 but the president
00:27:57.260 of Hillary,
00:27:57.800 who also withheld
00:27:58.660 documents,
00:27:59.200 who also destroyed
00:28:00.220 documents that were
00:28:01.080 under federal subpoena,
00:28:02.300 subpoena,
00:28:02.860 knowing that they
00:28:03.900 were responsive,
00:28:04.940 who,
00:28:05.420 unlike Trump,
00:28:06.440 actually does seem
00:28:07.260 to have exposed
00:28:07.840 our state secrets
00:28:08.640 to our enemies
00:28:09.460 via her homebrew server,
00:28:10.920 which they believe
00:28:11.840 at least the Chinese
00:28:12.640 accessed,
00:28:13.400 which is not the case
00:28:14.260 with Trump.
00:28:15.120 What we believe
00:28:15.700 is that he kept them
00:28:17.140 not entirely secure
00:28:18.480 down in Mar-a-Lago
00:28:19.640 and people just worried
00:28:21.620 after the fact
00:28:22.620 on whether it would
00:28:23.660 have been easy
00:28:24.100 for somebody
00:28:24.460 to access them,
00:28:25.260 but there's absolutely
00:28:25.800 no proof
00:28:26.780 or actual reason
00:28:27.900 to believe someone did.
00:28:29.320 Okay,
00:28:29.480 so I don't believe
00:28:30.980 this is an appropriate
00:28:31.940 prosecution
00:28:32.400 and I believe
00:28:32.940 you have to consider
00:28:33.580 it in the light
00:28:34.160 of the five-plus-year
00:28:35.900 campaign to ruin
00:28:36.800 Trump and charge
00:28:37.600 him criminally
00:28:38.220 and put him
00:28:39.080 behind bars
00:28:40.040 in the first place.
00:28:40.840 I mean,
00:28:40.920 you go back
00:28:41.260 and you look at,
00:28:41.760 I just did this
00:28:42.260 for kicks,
00:28:43.360 you look at when
00:28:43.880 Russiagate was breaking
00:28:44.820 and people were talking
00:28:45.580 about how he was
00:28:46.240 a Russian agent,
00:28:47.420 you know,
00:28:47.640 and how he was,
00:28:48.920 he had a handler
00:28:49.740 over in Russia
00:28:51.100 when he was the
00:28:52.020 sitting U.S.
00:28:52.540 president being
00:28:53.080 controlled by his
00:28:54.040 Russian handlers
00:28:54.780 and the number of
00:28:55.980 calls for his
00:28:56.560 prosecution,
00:28:57.940 you know,
00:28:58.180 and then even after
00:28:59.300 the Mueller report
00:29:01.420 came out
00:29:01.960 and Bill Barr
00:29:02.920 was like,
00:29:03.500 they didn't get him.
00:29:04.760 People freaked out.
00:29:05.680 No,
00:29:05.960 he did get him.
00:29:07.100 There needs to be
00:29:07.480 a criminal prosecution.
00:29:08.200 I mean,
00:29:08.320 they've been wanting
00:29:09.360 to put Trump
00:29:10.400 in handcuffs
00:29:11.500 from the start
00:29:12.820 and so now,
00:29:14.200 finally,
00:29:14.460 they went after him
00:29:15.200 in a way they never
00:29:15.780 did with other
00:29:16.300 presidents,
00:29:16.820 they never did
00:29:17.280 with other people
00:29:17.840 like Hillary
00:29:18.340 who had classified
00:29:19.360 information
00:29:19.920 or national security
00:29:21.240 information
00:29:21.740 because it just
00:29:23.140 fulfills their
00:29:23.660 long-held desire.
00:29:24.560 Okay,
00:29:24.720 so that's my
00:29:25.200 disclaimer,
00:29:26.120 but that doesn't
00:29:26.760 stop me from
00:29:27.560 wanting to hear
00:29:28.300 the validity
00:29:29.060 of the actual
00:29:30.040 legal case against
00:29:30.880 him.
00:29:31.620 And this
00:29:32.420 recording
00:29:33.380 that CNN
00:29:34.200 got a copy
00:29:35.500 of is terrible
00:29:37.140 for Donald
00:29:37.620 Trump's legal
00:29:38.720 chances.
00:29:39.800 That's my
00:29:40.440 take is it's
00:29:41.280 terrible.
00:29:43.140 Trump went on
00:29:43.820 Brett Baier
00:29:44.240 last week
00:29:44.920 and I believe
00:29:46.540 mischaracterized
00:29:47.620 it,
00:29:47.960 but we're going
00:29:48.680 to play it
00:29:49.040 for the audience
00:29:49.560 and get you
00:29:50.180 guys to weigh
00:29:50.560 in and let
00:29:50.860 the audience
00:29:51.220 decide for
00:29:51.720 themselves.
00:29:54.000 He should not
00:29:54.720 have gone on
00:29:55.080 Brett Baier
00:29:55.340 and talked
00:29:55.680 about the
00:29:55.980 document.
00:29:56.840 Before we
00:29:57.400 saw the
00:29:57.760 document,
00:29:58.120 we only had
00:29:58.560 a partial
00:29:59.100 transcript of
00:29:59.760 the tape.
00:30:00.160 I said,
00:30:00.800 we don't know
00:30:01.900 whether Trump
00:30:02.300 actually had the
00:30:02.880 document.
00:30:03.220 He could
00:30:03.980 have been
00:30:04.340 full of
00:30:04.640 bluster.
00:30:05.380 He could
00:30:05.560 have been
00:30:05.740 waving around
00:30:06.400 the morning
00:30:07.900 sports scores
00:30:08.680 saying,
00:30:09.640 look at this.
00:30:10.580 I've got
00:30:10.940 something that
00:30:11.400 contradicts Mark
00:30:12.180 Milley calling
00:30:12.800 me a
00:30:13.260 warmonger.
00:30:13.920 I've got a
00:30:14.320 document that
00:30:14.760 proves he was
00:30:15.320 the warmonger.
00:30:16.260 He was
00:30:16.640 submitting plans
00:30:17.340 to me to
00:30:17.660 attack Iran,
00:30:18.560 not the other
00:30:19.000 way around.
00:30:19.920 Could have
00:30:20.180 been absolutely
00:30:20.620 nothing in his
00:30:21.240 hand.
00:30:22.200 Well,
00:30:23.160 he kind of
00:30:24.420 tried to go
00:30:25.120 with that
00:30:25.480 defense on
00:30:27.740 Brett Baier,
00:30:28.740 but the full
00:30:29.580 audio tape,
00:30:30.540 I think,
00:30:30.980 puts the lie
00:30:31.580 to what he
00:30:32.540 said.
00:30:33.500 Let's
00:30:33.980 first play
00:30:34.840 for the
00:30:35.120 audience
00:30:35.400 exactly what
00:30:36.020 he tried
00:30:36.400 to say
00:30:36.660 to Brett
00:30:37.120 in diminishing
00:30:38.800 what it was
00:30:39.620 he waved
00:30:40.080 around some
00:30:41.380 meeting involving
00:30:42.360 Mark Meadows
00:30:43.440 book that
00:30:45.080 Trump attended,
00:30:45.820 a couple of
00:30:46.140 members of the
00:30:46.520 press attended,
00:30:47.220 and some
00:30:47.580 Trump aides
00:30:48.200 attended that
00:30:49.500 has now become
00:30:50.020 such an issue
00:30:50.620 for him.
00:30:51.000 ready?
00:30:52.920 You were
00:30:53.200 recording.
00:30:53.560 It wasn't a
00:30:53.940 document.
00:30:54.520 I had lots
00:30:55.480 of paper.
00:30:56.180 I had copies
00:30:56.880 of newspaper
00:30:57.560 articles.
00:30:58.280 I had copies
00:30:58.860 of magazines.
00:30:59.740 When I said
00:31:00.740 that I couldn't
00:31:01.300 declassify it now,
00:31:02.500 that's because I
00:31:02.940 wasn't president.
00:31:03.900 I never made
00:31:04.900 any bonds about
00:31:05.600 that.
00:31:06.200 When I'm not
00:31:06.820 president, I
00:31:07.660 can't declassify
00:31:08.580 Brett.
00:31:09.340 There was no
00:31:09.920 document.
00:31:10.540 That was a
00:31:11.080 massive amount
00:31:12.020 of papers and
00:31:12.760 everything else
00:31:13.380 talking about
00:31:14.380 Iran and other
00:31:15.480 things, and it
00:31:16.900 may have been
00:31:17.620 held up or may
00:31:18.440 not, but that
00:31:18.980 was not a
00:31:19.480 document.
00:31:20.000 I didn't have
00:31:20.340 a document
00:31:20.960 per se.
00:31:21.760 There was
00:31:21.980 nothing to
00:31:22.480 declassify.
00:31:23.100 These were
00:31:23.380 newspaper stories,
00:31:24.380 magazine stories,
00:31:25.240 and articles.
00:31:26.240 I don't think
00:31:26.620 I've ever seen
00:31:27.240 a document
00:31:27.740 from Millie.
00:31:29.520 Very clear
00:31:30.180 defense.
00:31:30.880 It was not.
00:31:32.200 I was basically
00:31:33.060 saying I was
00:31:33.380 bullshitting people.
00:31:34.360 I didn't actually
00:31:34.980 have it.
00:31:37.020 You know,
00:31:37.620 I had just
00:31:38.520 newspapers.
00:31:39.560 That's all I
00:31:40.000 was waving
00:31:40.340 around.
00:31:40.840 Well, maybe
00:31:42.080 this was
00:31:42.500 bullshit.
00:31:43.000 Like, maybe
00:31:43.500 what you're
00:31:43.900 about to hear
00:31:44.420 was him
00:31:45.000 bullshitting.
00:31:48.220 Let's let
00:31:48.740 the audience
00:31:49.100 decide.
00:31:49.580 Here is
00:31:49.840 the full
00:31:50.280 two-minute
00:31:50.700 tape of
00:31:51.220 Trump
00:31:51.540 with that
00:31:53.380 alleged
00:31:53.720 document.
00:31:56.000 Bad, sick
00:31:56.940 people.
00:31:57.940 That was your
00:31:58.880 coup, you
00:31:59.720 know, against
00:32:00.840 you.
00:32:01.840 Well, it
00:32:02.100 started right
00:32:02.760 at the end.
00:32:03.340 Like when Millie's
00:32:03.700 talking about,
00:32:04.500 oh, you were
00:32:05.040 going to try
00:32:05.520 to do a coup.
00:32:06.040 No, they were
00:32:06.680 trying to do
00:32:07.160 that before you
00:32:07.940 even were
00:32:08.420 sworn in.
00:32:09.320 That's right.
00:32:09.940 Trying to
00:32:10.300 overthrow your
00:32:11.120 life.
00:32:11.360 Well, with
00:32:11.760 Millie, let me
00:32:13.420 see that.
00:32:13.880 I'll show you
00:32:14.380 an example.
00:32:14.820 He said
00:32:15.860 that I
00:32:18.020 wanted to
00:32:18.540 attack Iran.
00:32:21.460 Isn't it
00:32:22.040 amazing?
00:32:22.540 I have a big
00:32:23.000 pile of papers.
00:32:23.740 This thing
00:32:24.020 just came up.
00:32:24.800 Look.
00:32:26.700 This was him.
00:32:28.340 They presented
00:32:29.200 me this.
00:32:29.880 This is off
00:32:30.300 the record,
00:32:30.760 but they
00:32:31.480 presented me
00:32:32.200 this.
00:32:33.060 This was him.
00:32:34.500 This was the
00:32:35.100 Defense Department
00:32:35.860 and him.
00:32:37.140 Wow.
00:32:37.760 We looked at
00:32:38.300 him.
00:32:38.680 This was him.
00:32:39.260 This wasn't
00:32:39.700 done by me.
00:32:40.300 This was him.
00:32:41.260 All sorts of
00:32:42.300 stuff.
00:32:43.040 Pages long.
00:32:43.980 Wait a minute.
00:32:46.420 Let's see here.
00:32:49.060 I just found
00:32:52.140 isn't that
00:32:52.520 amazing?
00:32:53.720 This totally
00:32:54.340 wins my case,
00:32:55.120 you know.
00:32:55.960 Except it is
00:32:56.960 like highly
00:32:57.640 controversial
00:32:58.640 secret.
00:33:00.080 There's a
00:33:00.560 secret information.
00:33:01.860 Look at this.
00:33:03.180 You attack.
00:33:04.700 Hillary would
00:33:05.440 print that out
00:33:06.140 all the time.
00:33:07.780 She'd send it
00:33:09.460 to Anthony
00:33:10.600 Weiner.
00:33:11.960 The pervert.
00:33:13.980 By the way,
00:33:15.240 isn't that
00:33:15.580 incredible?
00:33:16.860 I was just
00:33:17.380 saying because
00:33:17.700 we were talking
00:33:18.180 about it.
00:33:19.320 He said he
00:33:20.380 wanted to
00:33:20.960 attack Iran.
00:33:23.120 He's in the
00:33:23.880 papers.
00:33:25.260 This was done
00:33:26.100 by the military
00:33:26.800 given to me.
00:33:28.360 Oh, God.
00:33:29.460 I think we can
00:33:30.260 probably.
00:33:31.260 We'll have to
00:33:33.360 see.
00:33:33.700 We'll have to
00:33:34.560 try to
00:33:35.420 figure out
00:33:36.660 a
00:33:37.100 Yes,
00:33:37.560 President,
00:33:38.000 I could have
00:33:38.360 deglessed.
00:33:39.040 No, I can't.
00:33:40.080 You know, but
00:33:40.380 this is
00:33:40.720 interesting.
00:33:43.580 Yeah.
00:33:43.940 It's so cool.
00:33:45.040 I mean,
00:33:45.280 it's so
00:33:45.560 I'm look
00:33:46.160 we're here.
00:33:46.720 I have
00:33:46.820 and you
00:33:48.280 probably almost
00:33:49.140 didn't believe
00:33:49.640 me, but
00:33:50.000 now you
00:33:50.440 believe me.
00:33:50.820 No, I
00:33:51.180 believe it.
00:33:51.500 It's
00:33:51.620 incredible,
00:33:52.400 right?
00:33:53.020 No.
00:33:53.360 Hey, bring
00:33:53.740 some bring
00:33:54.400 some coats
00:33:54.940 in, please.
00:33:58.180 I mean,
00:33:59.200 I was
00:34:00.780 waving around
00:34:01.320 a newspaper
00:34:01.740 article is
00:34:03.340 not going
00:34:04.440 to cut it.
00:34:05.780 He says
00:34:06.480 this was
00:34:07.480 done by the
00:34:08.200 military and
00:34:09.040 given to
00:34:09.880 me.
00:34:10.560 These are
00:34:11.540 the papers.
00:34:13.460 It's highly
00:34:14.500 confidential.
00:34:15.160 This is secret
00:34:16.120 information in
00:34:16.900 the newspaper.
00:34:17.740 It's not
00:34:18.320 it's not
00:34:18.700 going to
00:34:18.920 work.
00:34:19.900 They got him.
00:34:21.020 They got him
00:34:21.460 on this
00:34:21.740 particular issue.
00:34:22.880 He should not
00:34:23.340 have given
00:34:23.560 that interview
00:34:24.000 to Brett
00:34:24.320 Baer in
00:34:24.740 that way.
00:34:25.440 What do
00:34:25.600 you what
00:34:25.880 do you
00:34:25.980 guys
00:34:26.120 think?
00:34:27.300 Oh, yeah.
00:34:28.480 I mean,
00:34:28.780 where do
00:34:29.080 you start?
00:34:31.300 The coax
00:34:32.140 was a nice
00:34:32.740 touch.
00:34:33.160 I guess he
00:34:33.660 was trying to
00:34:34.140 provide refreshment
00:34:35.020 for the
00:34:35.320 assembled.
00:34:37.640 No, look,
00:34:38.400 I'm not a
00:34:39.120 lawyer, but
00:34:41.040 it strikes me
00:34:41.840 that when you
00:34:43.100 have audio of
00:34:44.060 your client
00:34:44.560 talking,
00:34:45.160 about the
00:34:45.580 inadvisability
00:34:46.580 of sharing
00:34:47.480 the documents
00:34:48.380 that he is
00:34:48.880 sharing on
00:34:49.680 audio, that's
00:34:50.740 not a great
00:34:51.180 start.
00:34:52.000 Right.
00:34:53.140 The Brett
00:34:53.800 Baer thing
00:34:54.200 is a total
00:34:54.720 mystery to
00:34:55.240 me.
00:34:55.500 And Brett
00:34:55.760 did a great
00:34:56.220 interview, as
00:34:56.780 he always
00:34:57.120 does.
00:34:57.700 But I
00:34:59.300 can't imagine
00:34:59.960 anybody being
00:35:00.660 put in a
00:35:01.060 situation where
00:35:01.780 they have a
00:35:02.120 federal indictment
00:35:02.920 against them
00:35:03.400 and they're
00:35:03.640 just sort of
00:35:04.140 like winging
00:35:04.600 it on air.
00:35:06.140 I mean, you
00:35:06.800 just don't
00:35:07.160 talk about it.
00:35:08.300 He's risking
00:35:08.740 his freedom.
00:35:09.800 Why is he
00:35:10.220 doing that?
00:35:10.860 It was
00:35:11.100 absolutely
00:35:11.780 foolhardy to
00:35:13.380 speak of.
00:35:14.320 Even Trump
00:35:15.040 should be able
00:35:15.480 to say,
00:35:16.100 obviously, I
00:35:17.280 can't speak
00:35:18.020 about that
00:35:18.560 because these
00:35:19.180 guys are trying
00:35:19.640 to put me in
00:35:20.140 jail.
00:35:20.600 That would have
00:35:20.920 been a totally
00:35:21.380 acceptable answer
00:35:22.280 that did not
00:35:22.800 show any
00:35:23.880 weakness.
00:35:24.340 It would have
00:35:25.000 shown a rational
00:35:25.920 assessment of what
00:35:26.940 the risks are to
00:35:27.740 him in this
00:35:28.120 prosecution.
00:35:28.640 That was an
00:35:29.680 insane thing to
00:35:30.540 do, especially
00:35:31.420 given that there
00:35:32.580 does appear to
00:35:33.420 be a specific
00:35:34.220 document.
00:35:34.860 Now, they
00:35:35.020 haven't found
00:35:35.500 the document.
00:35:36.380 They haven't
00:35:36.700 found the
00:35:37.000 document.
00:35:37.320 It wasn't
00:35:37.540 found in those
00:35:38.000 Mar-a-Lago
00:35:38.440 boxes, but they
00:35:39.860 never searched
00:35:40.480 Bedminster.
00:35:41.500 And if you read
00:35:42.000 the indictment,
00:35:42.640 it says Trump
00:35:43.480 wound up taking
00:35:44.220 a bunch of
00:35:44.600 these documents
00:35:45.100 to Bedminster,
00:35:46.260 his golf club
00:35:47.340 up in New
00:35:48.140 Jersey, and
00:35:49.080 they decided
00:35:50.020 for whatever
00:35:50.540 reason, maybe
00:35:51.200 because of PR
00:35:52.000 and so on,
00:35:52.980 not to raid
00:35:53.780 Bedminster.
00:35:54.900 So honestly,
00:35:55.560 that document could
00:35:56.360 be sitting there
00:35:56.880 right now.
00:35:57.200 I have no
00:35:57.620 idea, but it
00:35:58.300 certainly sounds
00:35:58.860 like Trump had
00:35:59.440 it in his hand
00:35:59.980 that day and
00:36:01.100 understood, as
00:36:02.060 he said, it
00:36:02.820 was secret.
00:36:03.760 It was highly
00:36:04.400 confidential.
00:36:05.460 It had not been
00:36:06.040 declassified.
00:36:06.900 That's not even
00:36:07.320 the issue at this
00:36:08.040 point.
00:36:08.340 The classification
00:36:08.820 is just whether
00:36:09.520 it relates to
00:36:10.080 national defense.
00:36:11.980 And more
00:36:12.940 importantly,
00:36:14.420 specifically says
00:36:15.940 in here that
00:36:17.100 the military
00:36:18.500 gave it to him.
00:36:19.680 The military
00:36:20.120 did it and
00:36:20.740 gave it to him
00:36:21.520 and recognized
00:36:22.580 that it would
00:36:23.080 have been
00:36:23.300 inappropriate to
00:36:24.060 share unless it
00:36:24.900 was declassified,
00:36:25.720 which it wasn't.
00:36:27.200 Yeah.
00:36:28.240 Yeah.
00:36:28.680 I mean, look,
00:36:29.460 going back to
00:36:30.880 the preface of
00:36:32.200 your thoughts
00:36:33.420 on this charge
00:36:34.560 and the
00:36:34.840 advisability of
00:36:35.860 whether or not
00:36:36.400 they should have
00:36:36.960 prosecuted this
00:36:38.220 at all,
00:36:39.060 I have a little
00:36:39.820 bit of different
00:36:40.340 take than you,
00:36:40.980 Meg.
00:36:41.060 I think it's
00:36:42.220 possible to be
00:36:43.460 deeply concerned
00:36:44.440 about two systems
00:36:46.120 of justice here.
00:36:47.380 I think it's
00:36:47.820 possible to be
00:36:48.880 deeply concerned
00:36:50.220 about where
00:36:51.820 these leaks
00:36:52.420 are coming
00:36:52.980 in the course
00:36:53.820 of a prosecution
00:36:54.980 of one political
00:36:56.340 party versus
00:36:57.140 another political
00:36:58.200 party without
00:36:59.780 defending what
00:37:00.860 is a pretty
00:37:01.380 serious underlying
00:37:02.460 charge.
00:37:04.220 And I think
00:37:05.620 that these all
00:37:06.600 That's how I feel, too.
00:37:06.620 Where do we disagree?
00:37:08.520 Well, because I
00:37:10.020 think whether
00:37:11.480 or not you
00:37:12.560 bring a charge
00:37:13.820 against Trump,
00:37:14.720 I think you have
00:37:15.400 to, if you
00:37:16.120 believe this to be
00:37:16.960 true, and this
00:37:18.080 audio suggests
00:37:19.180 that it very well
00:37:20.020 could be, I think
00:37:21.440 the government has
00:37:22.320 no choice to
00:37:23.080 bring a charge.
00:37:23.740 I think they
00:37:24.100 should have brought
00:37:24.600 a charge against
00:37:25.280 Hillary Clinton
00:37:25.880 as well.
00:37:27.220 I think anybody
00:37:27.860 who has classified
00:37:29.260 documents.
00:37:29.480 But they didn't,
00:37:31.280 but Holmes, they
00:37:31.840 didn't bring a
00:37:32.560 charge against
00:37:32.980 Hillary Clinton.
00:37:33.580 And I realize
00:37:34.140 it's not Comey
00:37:35.520 still at the FBI.
00:37:36.540 It's a different
00:37:36.940 attorney general,
00:37:38.860 but it doesn't
00:37:40.420 matter.
00:37:41.020 Like, it's the
00:37:41.820 office's priors
00:37:43.440 that matter, not
00:37:44.500 yours specifically
00:37:45.820 as Merrick Garland.
00:37:47.660 Yeah, no,
00:37:48.280 but I think there
00:37:49.140 are two separate
00:37:49.880 tracks of what
00:37:50.660 you've got to do
00:37:51.320 here.
00:37:51.880 I think almost
00:37:52.560 every Republican
00:37:53.340 presidential candidate
00:37:54.520 has suggested that
00:37:55.920 amongst the first
00:37:57.100 things they do is
00:37:58.660 rework the whole
00:37:59.880 FBI, rework the
00:38:01.300 entire Department
00:38:02.140 of Justice to
00:38:03.260 make sure that we
00:38:03.900 actually have a
00:38:05.000 justice system again
00:38:06.080 and not one that
00:38:07.180 benefits the
00:38:08.040 political party,
00:38:09.400 one political party
00:38:10.800 in particular.
00:38:12.260 And then there's a
00:38:12.920 separate issue of
00:38:13.700 how you deal with
00:38:14.340 crimes.
00:38:15.160 I don't think that
00:38:16.660 you can excuse
00:38:17.820 criminal behavior
00:38:18.760 behavior for
00:38:19.740 anyone because
00:38:21.280 the other party
00:38:22.360 got away with
00:38:23.440 it.
00:38:24.060 I think that the
00:38:24.700 only answer to
00:38:25.520 this is that in
00:38:26.220 the vacuum that
00:38:27.140 that if that
00:38:28.100 vacuum and I look
00:38:29.100 as as a general
00:38:30.220 principle floating
00:38:30.920 around out there,
00:38:31.460 I agree with you,
00:38:32.160 you can't disassociate
00:38:34.720 that statement from
00:38:35.640 what happened with
00:38:36.740 Hillary, what's
00:38:37.520 happening right now
00:38:38.220 with Hunter that we
00:38:38.940 spent the first half
00:38:39.660 hour talking about.
00:38:40.360 You just can't you
00:38:41.680 you can't ignore
00:38:42.640 criminal behavior.
00:38:43.340 They're doing it
00:38:44.000 right now.
00:38:45.480 Yep, exactly.
00:38:46.620 But if you do
00:38:47.880 that, you
00:38:48.420 perpetuate the end
00:38:49.860 of this country
00:38:50.600 itself.
00:38:51.780 This is a country
00:38:52.760 that is a democracy
00:38:53.920 that relies
00:38:54.840 exclusively on the
00:38:56.200 trust of the
00:38:57.020 American people.
00:38:58.460 If half of this
00:38:59.160 country believes
00:39:00.180 that they are
00:39:01.280 never going to get
00:39:02.000 a fair shot simply
00:39:02.860 because of their
00:39:03.400 political affiliation,
00:39:05.100 one of two things
00:39:05.720 happens.
00:39:06.280 Either they all
00:39:06.920 become Democrats
00:39:07.700 or the country
00:39:09.080 erupts into
00:39:09.620 civil war.
00:39:10.520 You don't have
00:39:11.520 a choice when
00:39:12.820 you're operating in
00:39:13.620 a place like
00:39:14.280 America, but to
00:39:15.380 try to figure out
00:39:16.180 how to get back
00:39:16.960 to what our
00:39:17.460 founders intended
00:39:18.300 as a government
00:39:19.320 for the people
00:39:20.120 and by the people.
00:39:20.860 How do you start
00:39:21.560 with how I get
00:39:23.500 I get what you're
00:39:24.140 saying, totally
00:39:24.680 get what you're
00:39:25.100 saying.
00:39:25.520 And look, I I
00:39:26.860 wrestle with this
00:39:27.680 because I read
00:39:28.540 that indictment
00:39:29.080 and was shocked
00:39:29.880 and horrified if
00:39:30.680 it's true of the
00:39:31.460 way Trump behaved
00:39:32.680 in response to
00:39:33.520 this subpoena
00:39:34.020 in particular.
00:39:35.600 But how do you
00:39:37.140 start writing
00:39:39.000 that ship
00:39:39.820 with Donald
00:39:41.260 Trump, the
00:39:42.320 former president,
00:39:43.340 the likely GOP
00:39:44.360 nominee?
00:39:45.160 That's not the
00:39:45.760 one to start
00:39:46.200 with.
00:39:46.540 What what maybe
00:39:47.860 there was a way
00:39:48.480 where they could
00:39:48.960 have come out
00:39:49.320 and done to him
00:39:49.820 what they did
00:39:50.180 to Hillary Clinton.
00:39:51.080 The big I think
00:39:52.320 look at all the
00:39:52.900 terrible shit he
00:39:53.520 did, but we're
00:39:54.260 not going to
00:39:54.660 charge because
00:39:55.660 this office has
00:39:56.540 a prior history
00:39:57.340 with Hillary
00:39:57.840 Clinton.
00:39:58.420 It would divide
00:39:59.040 the nation.
00:39:59.680 But you have
00:40:00.340 the right to
00:40:00.760 know what
00:40:01.560 we found,
00:40:02.120 what he did.
00:40:03.040 All right.
00:40:03.560 Maybe that would
00:40:04.020 excuse the
00:40:04.560 Mar-a-Lago
00:40:05.000 raid.
00:40:05.620 But we stop
00:40:06.700 short of
00:40:07.100 criminally
00:40:07.680 charging the
00:40:08.460 former president
00:40:09.100 of the United
00:40:09.520 States.
00:40:09.960 Go ahead,
00:40:10.320 Duncan.
00:40:10.500 I think
00:40:11.800 the problem
00:40:12.240 for Donald
00:40:12.720 Trump, and I
00:40:13.580 think it's sort
00:40:13.960 of his Achilles
00:40:14.760 heel when he
00:40:15.440 steps on all
00:40:16.100 these rakes all
00:40:16.640 the time, is he
00:40:17.380 makes himself
00:40:18.200 intimately involved
00:40:19.320 in all of these
00:40:20.340 decisions, right?
00:40:21.840 And he always has
00:40:22.820 to take the
00:40:23.280 bait here.
00:40:24.720 This is a memoir
00:40:25.640 for Mark
00:40:26.380 Meadows, and he
00:40:27.660 has to correct
00:40:28.480 the record on
00:40:29.180 Millie in this
00:40:29.780 thing.
00:40:30.420 He has to do
00:40:31.220 it.
00:40:31.500 He has to pull
00:40:32.440 up the documents
00:40:33.080 and correct it.
00:40:33.620 He can't ever
00:40:34.120 take a pitch and
00:40:34.920 just be like,
00:40:35.740 well, I can't do
00:40:36.400 this.
00:40:36.620 I can't try to
00:40:37.100 correct the record.
00:40:37.760 He fights for
00:40:38.440 every inch, and
00:40:39.320 that's what always
00:40:40.080 gets him in
00:40:40.580 trouble, is it's
00:40:41.420 him, personally,
00:40:42.840 on tape, saying
00:40:43.900 the thing he
00:40:44.420 shouldn't do and
00:40:45.020 doing it.
00:40:45.920 And that,
00:40:46.460 unfortunately, is
00:40:47.640 his problem and
00:40:48.720 his legal
00:40:49.140 liabilities, his
00:40:49.900 ability to not
00:40:51.200 just shut up.
00:40:51.960 He can't.
00:40:52.600 So I think I
00:40:53.380 take it in the
00:40:54.300 opposite tack of
00:40:55.140 I think that's
00:40:55.720 actually a strength
00:40:56.760 for Trump in this
00:40:57.880 instance.
00:40:58.400 It's clearly not.
00:40:59.640 Here's why, is
00:41:01.040 because we know
00:41:01.880 he's doing it
00:41:02.640 because, like you
00:41:03.780 just said, it's
00:41:04.980 all about him.
00:41:05.940 It's a very, it's
00:41:06.760 an egotistical
00:41:07.420 move to be like,
00:41:08.160 oh, shit, look,
00:41:08.720 I've got classified
00:41:09.320 documents on my
00:41:09.940 desk.
00:41:11.120 Why would the
00:41:12.020 Biden family get
00:41:12.900 involved in this?
00:41:13.440 It's because of
00:41:14.060 money.
00:41:14.520 They're selling out
00:41:15.220 this country.
00:41:15.840 Why did Hillary get
00:41:16.980 involved in this?
00:41:17.780 Same thing.
00:41:18.120 She's power hungry
00:41:18.660 trying to make
00:41:19.160 money.
00:41:19.500 The same reason
00:41:19.940 that the Clinton
00:41:20.760 Foundation,
00:41:21.200 essentially raided
00:41:22.080 Haiti, according
00:41:22.900 to many people.
00:41:24.200 So I think that
00:41:25.340 is something that
00:41:26.160 needs to be
00:41:26.560 considered, especially
00:41:27.240 when there is a
00:41:28.060 very evident two
00:41:28.860 tiers of justice
00:41:29.560 in this country.
00:41:30.460 You cannot
00:41:31.180 unilaterally disarm,
00:41:32.620 especially not when
00:41:33.500 they're trying to
00:41:33.980 take down the
00:41:34.580 opposing party's
00:41:35.340 leading candidate.
00:41:36.720 Like now is not
00:41:37.240 the time to be
00:41:37.760 like pontificating
00:41:38.620 of, well, you
00:41:39.200 know, I don't
00:41:39.640 think the founding
00:41:40.160 fathers would have
00:41:40.740 liked this to
00:41:41.660 happen.
00:41:41.940 Sure, they
00:41:42.400 wouldn't have,
00:41:43.360 you know, but
00:41:43.640 when they got
00:41:44.120 pushed, what did
00:41:44.920 they do?
00:41:45.280 They fought back.
00:41:46.480 So we can't
00:41:47.000 allow only one
00:41:47.880 party to control
00:41:48.860 the justice system,
00:41:49.760 throw our hands
00:41:50.320 up and say, well,
00:41:51.100 we can't do that.
00:41:52.020 That'd be too mean.
00:41:52.780 They have no
00:41:53.440 qualms about it.
00:41:54.500 They have no
00:41:55.000 qualms about
00:41:55.480 exercising their
00:41:56.160 power whatsoever to
00:41:57.280 maintain this grip
00:41:58.100 that they have on
00:41:58.540 the country.
00:41:58.780 All I'm saying is if
00:41:59.860 Joe Biden was on
00:42:01.020 tape saying, here
00:42:02.540 are the documents
00:42:03.260 showing that I
00:42:04.200 did work with my
00:42:05.220 son, Hunter
00:42:05.740 Biden, and to
00:42:07.320 set up these
00:42:07.760 accounts and get
00:42:08.300 this money from
00:42:08.840 China.
00:42:09.280 And that was on
00:42:09.820 tape.
00:42:10.060 That would be
00:42:10.200 different.
00:42:11.240 We would say,
00:42:12.620 you know what?
00:42:13.280 What's different
00:42:13.900 about this, Duncan?
00:42:14.920 What's different
00:42:15.340 about this?
00:42:15.800 The reason why
00:42:16.760 this, in my view,
00:42:17.980 one of the many
00:42:18.680 should not have
00:42:19.280 been charged.
00:42:19.680 It's the exact same
00:42:20.560 crime as Hillary's.
00:42:21.680 It's the exact same.
00:42:23.300 If Joe Biden, if they
00:42:24.320 went after Joe Biden,
00:42:25.160 if they actually
00:42:25.560 investigated this
00:42:26.260 stuff we talked
00:42:26.740 about in half hour
00:42:27.520 one and found
00:42:28.720 that he did work
00:42:29.860 with Hunter to
00:42:30.800 cut a deal with
00:42:31.320 the Chinese and
00:42:32.080 influence peddled
00:42:32.940 in a way that was
00:42:33.440 inappropriate or
00:42:34.080 traded favors to
00:42:35.580 get that Ukrainian
00:42:36.220 prosecutor fired so
00:42:37.480 that his son could
00:42:38.080 stay on the
00:42:38.440 Burisma board while
00:42:40.060 he was the sitting
00:42:40.660 vice president.
00:42:41.260 That's a huge,
00:42:42.160 huge deal.
00:42:43.240 That is a crime.
00:42:44.780 It was something
00:42:45.620 that would have
00:42:46.020 gotten him impeached
00:42:46.740 as the sitting
00:42:47.320 vice president and
00:42:48.140 so on.
00:42:49.400 That's not this.
00:42:50.720 This is a much
00:42:51.340 lower situation.
00:42:52.800 We're talking about
00:42:53.440 document management.
00:42:54.860 You know, Hillary
00:42:55.280 had the homebrew
00:42:55.920 server.
00:42:56.520 She had the phone.
00:42:57.060 She had all the
00:42:57.580 stuff that she
00:42:58.000 shouldn't have
00:42:58.320 had and then
00:42:59.620 compounding her
00:43:00.620 mistakes to be
00:43:02.040 charitable, to use
00:43:02.620 that word.
00:43:03.320 She then blew off a
00:43:04.540 federal subpoena,
00:43:05.260 ignored it and
00:43:05.800 destroyed her phones
00:43:06.700 and documents and
00:43:07.340 responsive material.
00:43:09.260 That's what Trump
00:43:10.000 did.
00:43:10.580 Now, take apart the
00:43:12.020 issue that he could
00:43:12.620 have declassified because
00:43:13.600 the way this thing was
00:43:14.600 charged, it really
00:43:15.280 doesn't come down to
00:43:15.920 classified information.
00:43:17.100 They don't have to
00:43:17.520 prove that they're
00:43:18.680 saying you held
00:43:19.320 national security
00:43:20.340 information that you
00:43:21.560 had no right to.
00:43:22.940 Trump keeps trying to
00:43:24.020 deny that these were
00:43:25.720 classified.
00:43:26.700 He's fighting the old
00:43:27.680 fight.
00:43:28.040 He's fighting the fight
00:43:29.260 he thought he had
00:43:30.040 before he actually saw
00:43:30.900 the indictment.
00:43:31.520 He needs to update
00:43:32.220 his defense.
00:43:33.500 The charge against
00:43:34.960 him has to do with
00:43:35.800 him holding national
00:43:36.960 security information
00:43:37.880 that he wasn't
00:43:38.520 entitled to hold that
00:43:39.380 belongs to the United
00:43:40.060 States, not to him.
00:43:41.360 He doesn't get
00:43:42.400 possession.
00:43:42.940 He doesn't get
00:43:43.400 ownership of the
00:43:44.240 documents just because
00:43:45.040 he was president.
00:43:45.960 He continues to try to
00:43:46.920 say that he did.
00:43:47.960 He didn't.
00:43:48.960 There's no question
00:43:49.580 about that under the
00:43:50.180 law.
00:43:50.340 He didn't own the
00:43:51.160 documents just because
00:43:52.640 he was the president.
00:43:53.720 OK, so that's an
00:43:54.360 important thing to
00:43:54.920 remember.
00:43:55.580 But it's the same
00:43:57.100 thing, what he did
00:43:58.400 and what she did.
00:43:59.040 It's the same on each
00:44:00.580 front.
00:44:00.940 Right.
00:44:01.220 And they didn't
00:44:01.720 charge her.
00:44:03.160 Except for one
00:44:04.060 component there, Megan,
00:44:05.320 I think is right or
00:44:08.000 wrong.
00:44:08.340 And obviously we think
00:44:09.160 what Hillary Clinton
00:44:09.700 did was wrong in
00:44:10.740 creating this homebrew
00:44:11.660 server and everything.
00:44:13.440 She worked with her
00:44:14.420 lawyers who worked
00:44:15.280 with the Justice
00:44:15.780 Department on the
00:44:16.600 emails.
00:44:17.060 Of course, when they
00:44:17.940 deleted the 30,000
00:44:18.860 emails that said was
00:44:19.620 about yoga, a
00:44:20.340 appointments, I
00:44:21.460 don't agree with
00:44:22.060 that.
00:44:22.600 But she worked
00:44:23.180 through her lawyers.
00:44:24.140 Donald Trump, if you
00:44:24.880 read the if it is to
00:44:26.540 believe the obstruction
00:44:27.840 component of this
00:44:28.820 indictment, which is a
00:44:30.040 very specific talking
00:44:31.080 indictment, which goes
00:44:32.140 through the minute by
00:44:32.740 minute and hour by hour
00:44:33.880 in which Donald Trump
00:44:34.960 told his lawyers one
00:44:36.580 thing and then had this
00:44:37.880 not a guy doing another
00:44:39.160 thing and then signed
00:44:40.780 a paper saying, yes, I
00:44:42.220 have reviewed all the
00:44:42.960 documents.
00:44:44.100 But what you're really
00:44:44.920 saying, I'm saying he
00:44:45.940 undermined his own
00:44:46.780 argument.
00:44:46.980 She had corrupt lawyers
00:44:48.300 and he didn't.
00:44:49.780 No, she had corrupt
00:44:50.900 lawyers and he did.
00:44:51.720 Yes.
00:44:53.000 That doesn't make
00:44:53.700 Trump more guilty.
00:44:55.120 That doesn't know.
00:44:55.900 That's what I'm telling
00:44:56.760 you.
00:44:57.320 He's a good man.
00:44:59.120 He's innocent.
00:44:59.680 What I'm saying is legal
00:45:00.700 jeopardy aside.
00:45:01.580 The fundamental mistake
00:45:02.440 that he made is he got
00:45:03.580 himself intimately
00:45:04.600 involved in all of this
00:45:06.000 stuff with the lawyer
00:45:07.080 rather than just let the
00:45:08.440 lawyers do in lawyer
00:45:09.180 things.
00:45:09.580 Well, he tried to the
00:45:11.360 point you just made.
00:45:11.900 He did try to get his
00:45:13.020 lawyer to do the dirty
00:45:13.940 work.
00:45:14.200 And the lawyer is like,
00:45:15.060 holy shit, he's trying
00:45:16.360 to get me to break the
00:45:17.080 law and made a tape.
00:45:18.720 He went back to his
00:45:19.460 office and said, hello,
00:45:20.380 dictaphone.
00:45:21.300 Keep a record.
00:45:22.400 He's going to get me.
00:45:23.860 And in the end, you know,
00:45:25.100 the lawyer saved his own
00:45:26.240 skin, which most lawyers
00:45:27.280 would.
00:45:28.020 And that's why they were
00:45:28.500 able to pierce the
00:45:29.380 attorney-client privilege
00:45:30.260 because the judge said
00:45:31.700 that was Trump trying to
00:45:33.200 commit a crime.
00:45:34.520 And you can't cloak that
00:45:36.360 attorney-client privilege.
00:45:37.380 But, yeah, I mean, all
00:45:38.920 this brings me back to I
00:45:40.700 believe I believe that this
00:45:42.780 shows Trump did break the
00:45:43.920 law, that he had a
00:45:44.860 document he wasn't
00:45:45.560 entitled to have, and
00:45:46.320 that he should have
00:45:46.740 turned it over in
00:45:47.460 response to the
00:45:48.000 subpoena.
00:45:48.620 I'm not surprised by
00:45:49.760 that.
00:45:50.060 That's how this
00:45:50.540 indictment sounded.
00:45:51.880 Now, indictments
00:45:52.440 usually fall apart to
00:45:53.500 some extent before you
00:45:54.660 go to court, but the
00:45:56.480 federal indictments
00:45:57.240 don't usually fall apart
00:45:58.580 that much.
00:46:00.020 But it still doesn't.
00:46:01.760 It's almost a jury
00:46:02.500 nullification issue.
00:46:03.660 And it's like you can
00:46:04.340 call it prosecutorial
00:46:05.300 discretion.
00:46:06.000 You can call it jury
00:46:06.620 nullification, which I
00:46:07.480 believe will be
00:46:08.160 essentially Trump's
00:46:08.960 defense at trial to
00:46:09.780 try to nullify the
00:46:10.600 jury with just ubiquitous
00:46:12.220 press coverage saying
00:46:13.160 like Hillary, Hillary,
00:46:14.040 Hillary, and I didn't
00:46:14.960 and I had the right to
00:46:15.680 do it all.
00:46:16.660 But it doesn't make the
00:46:17.940 charging decision any
00:46:19.080 more just or right
00:46:21.320 that if I had been
00:46:23.520 Jack Smith and
00:46:24.280 stumbled upon this tape,
00:46:25.360 I would have let the
00:46:26.360 public know I would have
00:46:27.120 wrapped this thing up
00:46:27.860 saying I'm not going to
00:46:28.520 charge it.
00:46:28.960 I'm using my discretion
00:46:29.820 not to charge it, but
00:46:31.020 I'm going to tell you
00:46:31.580 what I found.
00:46:32.500 This is an electoral
00:46:33.340 issue.
00:46:33.860 Is Trump fit to hold
00:46:35.280 the office?
00:46:36.100 Is this a man you want
00:46:37.220 to re-entrust with the
00:46:38.380 federal secrets?
00:46:39.620 Same way we got to
00:46:40.580 side with Hillary, right?
00:46:42.540 And and the electorate
00:46:43.800 is answering right now.
00:46:45.140 We don't give a shit.
00:46:46.760 That's what the
00:46:47.340 Republicans are saying.
00:46:49.080 And that's fine.
00:46:50.100 They can say that, right?
00:46:51.220 They can say that.
00:46:51.880 But this the Democrats
00:46:53.740 and the DOJ are trying
00:46:55.680 to take it out of the
00:46:56.760 hands of the electorate
00:46:57.600 and put this guy in jail
00:46:59.580 where he will be unless
00:47:02.040 he can find a jury that
00:47:04.280 he can nullify, which is
00:47:05.380 possible down in Florida,
00:47:06.360 or he can get himself
00:47:08.360 or another Republican
00:47:09.080 elected who will pardon
00:47:09.980 him.
00:47:10.360 All right.
00:47:10.520 Let me pause it there.
00:47:11.740 There's more to discuss.
00:47:13.080 Love talking to you guys.
00:47:14.780 But we're going to squeeze
00:47:15.580 in a quick, quick break.

00:47:31.420 What does it say about
00:47:35.500 the Republican Party that
00:47:36.560 the next guy down is Ron
00:47:37.880 DeSantis, who is running
00:47:39.700 the most openly fascist
00:47:41.440 campaign I think I've ever
00:47:43.000 seen.
00:47:43.400 And I'm saying that having
00:47:44.840 covered Donald Trump.
00:47:46.200 Their second choice is a guy
00:47:47.700 who is worse than Trump.
00:47:49.380 So it's a threat to what it
00:47:52.420 means really to be an
00:47:54.120 American.
00:47:54.620 And I think we have to
00:47:56.240 realize that and address it
00:47:58.120 accordingly.
00:47:59.860 Okay.
00:48:01.420 I used to have Stuart
00:48:02.140 Stevens on my show all the
00:48:03.100 time when I was hosting the
00:48:03.900 Kelly file.
00:48:04.520 He was like a normal
00:48:05.420 Republican.
00:48:06.520 He was a former Bush guy.
00:48:08.320 Now he fits in perfectly at
00:48:09.780 MSNBC.
00:48:10.880 You are back with the host
00:48:12.380 of Ruthless.
00:48:13.340 My guest today here on the
00:48:14.680 Megan Kelly show.
00:48:15.640 They are Josh Holmes,
00:48:16.980 comfortably smug, Michael
00:48:17.920 Duncan and John Ashbrook.
00:48:19.540 Find them now on YouTube
00:48:21.060 dot com slash Ruthless
00:48:22.700 podcast.
00:48:23.720 And later today, I'll be
00:48:25.140 excited to talk to you.
00:48:27.020 It's been a while.
00:48:27.720 So we're going to take
00:48:28.480 calls.
00:48:28.820 I'd love to hear from you
00:48:29.580 guys.
00:48:29.860 The number is eight
00:48:31.700 three, three, four, four.
00:48:32.660 M E G Y N eight, three,
00:48:34.040 three, four, four, six,
00:48:34.820 three, four, nine, six.
00:48:35.640 All right, guys.
00:48:36.320 So he's worse than Trump.
00:48:37.940 They covered Trump and they
00:48:38.960 know DeSantis is worse than
00:48:40.440 Trump.
00:48:40.860 This is about being an
00:48:42.280 American.
00:48:43.020 And I guess if you vote for
00:48:44.520 Ron DeSantis, you aren't one.
00:48:48.000 Yeah.
00:48:48.460 Well, if you vote Republican,
00:48:49.880 you're not one.
00:48:50.960 Yeah.
00:48:51.180 Which is actually, you know,
00:48:52.400 for Sue Stevens, something
00:48:54.260 that he's been able to
00:48:55.200 ensure as a Republican
00:48:56.200 consultant for quite some time,
00:48:57.780 that every Republican that he
00:48:59.700 has advised or supported in
00:49:01.840 the course of his tenure
00:49:02.740 basically comes up on the
00:49:03.900 short end of the stick.
00:49:04.660 So remarkable consistency in
00:49:06.920 that regard.
00:49:07.440 I might.
00:49:08.000 He's been very dedicated for
00:49:09.540 helping Republicans lose for a
00:49:10.820 long time.
00:49:11.620 It's a flawless record.
00:49:13.340 And, you know, what is just
00:49:14.380 fascinating to me is that if
00:49:16.040 once they meet Tim Scott, as
00:49:18.200 soon as he becomes the number
00:49:20.160 three, the number two, the
00:49:21.220 number one, he's even more
00:49:22.260 fascist.
00:49:23.020 Ron DeSantis.
00:49:24.280 Yep.
00:49:24.820 Yeah.
00:49:25.340 That's right.
00:49:26.220 And a white supremacist.
00:49:27.680 They'll they'll label him that
00:49:28.660 very soon.
00:49:30.000 That's what they did to Larry
00:49:31.040 Elder in California.
00:49:32.020 Yeah.
00:49:32.140 It's not a joke.
00:49:32.860 They'll do it.
00:49:33.380 A terrible publication.
00:49:35.480 Yeah.
00:49:35.940 Yeah.
00:49:36.380 All right.
00:49:36.800 So let's talk about the
00:49:37.540 numbers, though.
00:49:38.200 I'm just saying it because
00:49:39.200 all along, you know, people
00:49:40.840 it's like Bill Maher said that
00:49:42.400 people think DeSantis is
00:49:44.320 Trump without the baggage.
00:49:45.860 Sure.
00:49:46.660 That's that's not how he will
00:49:48.580 be.
00:49:48.820 If he becomes the nominee, they
00:49:49.920 will make him worse than
00:49:51.080 Trump, worse than Trump.
00:49:52.340 You heard it right there.
00:49:53.340 Don't kid yourselves, folks.
00:49:54.740 They'll never let DeSantis get
00:49:55.920 away with Trump without the
00:49:57.500 baggage.
00:49:57.880 The media will make him worse
00:49:58.980 than Trump.
00:50:00.940 He is worse than Trump when it
00:50:02.420 comes to the polls, the polls.
00:50:05.600 You know, you guys tell me
00:50:07.760 because my impression is I
00:50:09.520 don't remember whether we've
00:50:11.320 specifically discussed this or
00:50:12.480 not, but my my impression is
00:50:13.820 you guys like DeSantis and would
00:50:15.760 be happy if he were to become
00:50:17.540 the GOP nominee.
00:50:20.100 And yet the guy cannot get any
00:50:21.800 traction.
00:50:22.520 I mean, he just cannot get past
00:50:24.160 the gorilla.
00:50:25.300 He can't do it no matter what
00:50:27.300 poll it is, no matter where in
00:50:29.640 the race it is.
00:50:31.160 You know, there was a time
00:50:32.420 several months ago before any
00:50:34.400 indictments where it was like
00:50:35.980 getting a little better for him.
00:50:37.700 And then the indictment changed
00:50:39.240 everything in the favor of
00:50:40.940 Donald Trump.
00:50:41.640 Like the first indictment in New
00:50:43.020 York.
00:50:43.380 Never mind the latest one.
00:50:44.820 I'll just give you some of the
00:50:45.500 numbers.
00:50:45.720 Then you tell me what you
00:50:46.280 think.
00:50:47.080 Real Real Clear Politics
00:50:48.080 average shows Trump ahead of
00:50:49.820 DeSantis by an average of 31
00:50:52.000 points.
00:50:53.500 Oh, my God.
00:50:54.780 Thirty one.
00:50:55.780 Latest poll in the Real Clear
00:50:57.280 Politics average is from
00:50:58.240 Emerson.
00:50:59.220 Shows Trump above DeSantis by
00:51:00.780 thirty eight points
00:51:02.840 in Iowa, where DeSantis has
00:51:06.160 been putting all of his
00:51:06.880 efforts.
00:51:07.500 You know, I think he
00:51:08.300 realistically thinks if he
00:51:10.360 could win Iowa, he could get
00:51:11.420 some momentum going.
00:51:12.320 He could get some chatter about
00:51:13.740 himself as opposed to Trump in
00:51:15.340 the media.
00:51:16.740 Trump spent absolutely nothing
00:51:17.900 in Iowa.
00:51:18.820 DeSantis has got the whole
00:51:20.320 state covered in people and
00:51:22.420 resources.
00:51:23.860 Trump remains up 21 points over
00:51:26.300 DeSantis in New Hampshire.
00:51:28.080 Trump remains up 22 points over
00:51:30.260 DeSantis.
00:51:31.140 And then there was a recent poll
00:51:33.440 that just was released, I think,
00:51:34.840 today.
00:51:35.760 No, it was from Monday, released
00:51:37.520 from NBC showing Trump is up
00:51:41.560 twenty nine points over DeSantis.
00:51:43.340 DeSantis, that's nearly double
00:51:45.580 Trump's lead in the same poll
00:51:47.820 from just April.
00:51:50.200 He's the more he gets indicted,
00:51:51.760 the more his numbers go up.
00:51:54.000 So how do you handle that if
00:51:56.320 you're Ron DeSantis?
00:51:58.440 I mean, look, DeSantis is still
00:52:00.300 very much solidified in the number
00:52:01.820 two spot.
00:52:02.540 I mean, he's got a big gap between
00:52:04.120 him and the rest of the field.
00:52:06.160 I mean, typically what happens in
00:52:07.480 the summer going into primary
00:52:10.120 season is it's a pretty stagnant
00:52:12.440 time other than sort of one or two
00:52:15.120 moments or events.
00:52:16.680 You have a campaign kickoff, an
00:52:19.020 announcement.
00:52:20.040 Typically, candidates get some kind
00:52:21.640 of a bump out of that.
00:52:22.640 You saw like Chris Christie and Tim
00:52:24.700 Scott and others go from zero to
00:52:26.940 seven to eight.
00:52:27.800 Nikki Haley kind of had the same
00:52:29.680 thing following her announcement.
00:52:32.100 DeSantis didn't.
00:52:33.000 Right.
00:52:33.140 And we've covered the reasons why
00:52:34.720 he didn't have a bump out of that.
00:52:36.800 But I'm not surprised that he
00:52:39.240 hasn't moved the numbers when all
00:52:41.820 of the news is Donald Trump.
00:52:44.220 And Trump is basically consolidated
00:52:46.360 the protest vote at this point.
00:52:48.100 And he's got his base, which is
00:52:49.580 probably 30, 33 percent.
00:52:51.180 It's not going anywhere ever.
00:52:53.960 And then you've got the rest of this
00:52:56.020 sort of angst ridden conservative
00:52:57.880 electorate that sees him as a protest
00:53:00.160 against the Biden administration and
00:53:01.860 against two systems of justice,
00:53:03.160 against all of the things that are
00:53:04.860 concerning them about the way that
00:53:06.400 America is is running in the
00:53:08.280 direction that we're going.
00:53:10.520 What I would look at more
00:53:11.660 specifically as we get into the
00:53:13.000 fall, though, is the A, the debates.
00:53:14.940 Yeah.
00:53:15.480 Which I think is a big sort of
00:53:17.940 moment of truth for everybody on
00:53:20.300 stage to say, does this person
00:53:22.340 have the capacity to be on this big
00:53:24.760 stage and lead our country?
00:53:26.280 And you put them both on the same
00:53:27.740 playing field for the same time.
00:53:29.040 That goes for all the candidates.
00:53:30.120 And then second, when you get into
00:53:32.000 the retail politics of Iowa
00:53:33.780 itself and New Hampshire and
00:53:35.480 South Carolina after that, you're
00:53:37.980 making a more direct
00:53:39.920 case of why not that guy and go
00:53:42.320 with me.
00:53:42.900 At this point, the contrasts have
00:53:44.540 been sort of light.
00:53:45.460 Other than Chris Christie, there's
00:53:47.920 not a whole bunch of people that are
00:53:49.240 taking the knives out at this point.
00:53:50.660 It's more like an introductory tour.
00:53:52.560 You try to raise your name, ID,
00:53:54.340 introduce yourself to people.
00:53:55.780 That really is not conducive to big
00:53:57.720 movement in the polls.
00:53:58.800 What ultimately moves this stuff is
00:54:01.600 when you can change people's mind
00:54:03.020 about where they're at, because
00:54:04.080 let's be very clear.
00:54:05.340 DeSantis needs to take 20 percent
00:54:07.400 out of Trump's hide.
00:54:09.800 And that's it's not going to be
00:54:11.180 consolidating the rest of the
00:54:13.220 electorate.
00:54:13.600 I thought maybe that was a path for
00:54:14.980 him at one point in January or
00:54:17.040 February of this year where he could
00:54:18.480 consolidate a anti-Trump
00:54:20.360 electorate.
00:54:22.100 But that's not the path he's
00:54:23.140 chosen.
00:54:23.540 He's chosen to do the Trump
00:54:25.880 light or Trump without the baggage,
00:54:28.080 as you said, Megan, and that
00:54:30.380 requires taking those votes right
00:54:32.380 out of his column.
00:54:33.240 And he's got his work cut out for
00:54:34.480 him in Iowa.
00:54:35.500 We had a top advisor for the Trump
00:54:37.960 campaign on the show recently, and
00:54:39.980 he was walking through everything
00:54:41.340 that they're doing in Iowa.
00:54:42.500 They have hired so many people and
00:54:44.020 they're professionalized at a level
00:54:45.760 that Trump wasn't in 2016.
00:54:48.420 So they built up a defense precisely
00:54:50.540 against this DeSantis effort to try to
00:54:52.520 pull it out of Trump's hide in that
00:54:54.220 state.
00:54:54.500 And a couple of things.
00:54:55.540 First off, I want to say, I think I
00:54:58.320 speak for all of us in that we like
00:54:59.820 all the Republican candidates.
00:55:01.420 Joe Biden's been an absolute disaster
00:55:02.500 for this country.
00:55:03.200 So we are not like picking and
00:55:04.680 choosing who we want.
00:55:06.120 All of them are fantastic when you
00:55:07.760 compare them to Joe Biden.
00:55:09.480 Secondly, I think there is right now
00:55:11.460 such a long time until a single vote
00:55:16.580 is cast in any primary.
00:55:18.720 The Iowa Cox's are in March of 2024,
00:55:21.200 right?
00:55:23.020 Going back eight years, it's been
00:55:24.800 that long.
00:55:25.460 It was mid-June of 2015 when Donald
00:55:28.180 Trump first announced, right?
00:55:29.920 This time he announced way earlier.
00:55:32.040 Essentially, we have a far stretched
00:55:34.280 out primary season, right?
00:55:37.080 And like Holmes said, that you have
00:55:38.740 very stagnant movement during the
00:55:40.400 summer before any of the primaries
00:55:43.080 happened.
00:55:43.600 Like, this is a long time out.
00:55:44.780 At this point, Jeb Bush was ahead of
00:55:47.620 Donald Trump.
00:55:48.160 You never know what could happen,
00:55:49.840 especially given the climate where
00:55:51.100 Democrats are hell-bent on prosecuting
00:55:53.420 Republicans running for office.
00:55:55.100 So anything could essentially still
00:55:56.740 happen.
00:55:57.740 I would say that a great point that's
00:55:59.760 been made is I would advise DeSantis
00:56:02.100 to make the contrast a little bit
00:56:03.940 clearer of you can't offer people
00:56:06.600 I'm going to be kind of like Donald
00:56:08.880 Trump because, I mean, you know, why
00:56:10.280 would you go for, you know, Diet Coke?
00:56:13.240 We can get the real thing.
00:56:14.260 Well, he has to make the argument on
00:56:15.400 electability, right?
00:56:16.300 Because you look at that NBC poll that
00:56:18.220 you cited earlier, Megan, where he's
00:56:20.640 up, you know, by a huge margin in the
00:56:22.520 Republican primary.
00:56:23.660 In the general, Donald Trump is losing
00:56:25.380 to Biden by four points, and DeSantis
00:56:27.700 is tied with Biden in that same poll.
00:56:30.560 And so, you know, to the extent that
00:56:32.880 we've been critical of Donald Trump on
00:56:34.920 our show, I think it's you look at the
00:56:37.180 cross tabs on polls like that, and you
00:56:39.000 look at his fave-unfave with the general
00:56:41.500 electorate, and he's, you know, negative
00:56:43.480 21, right?
00:56:44.780 And so, like, what is Donald Trump going
00:56:46.000 to do different in 2024?
00:56:47.820 If he's the nominee, then he didn't.
00:56:49.180 He's going to get indicted two more
00:56:50.400 times.
00:56:51.400 Right, right, right.
00:56:53.460 So what are you going to do differently
00:56:55.100 to change the outcome?
00:56:57.440 And so if you're Ron DeSantis, you've got
00:56:58.980 to be sharpened the knives on
00:57:00.160 electability because you have to think
00:57:02.380 that there's enough people in the
00:57:04.040 Republican primary electorate who are
00:57:05.760 angst ridden, like you said, Holmes, who
00:57:07.420 want to win, right?
00:57:08.900 Because essentially every primary voter
00:57:10.260 has two levers in their hands.
00:57:11.700 I want a fighter and I want a winner.
00:57:13.220 How much do they want a fighter and
00:57:15.140 how much do they want somebody who's
00:57:16.240 going to win and how those things are
00:57:18.260 calibrated impacts how you're ultimately
00:57:20.020 going to vote in Iowa, which, like you
00:57:21.880 said, Smug, is still months and months
00:57:23.660 and months away.
00:57:24.680 So it's all hypothetical now.
00:57:26.160 But when you get into the caucus, you want
00:57:28.180 to win.
00:57:29.200 Can you explain March?
00:57:30.120 I mean, back in my day, Iowa used to be
00:57:31.700 January and I just asked my team, is it
00:57:33.600 like, when is it?
00:57:34.680 And they were like, it's someplace between
00:57:36.400 January and March.
00:57:37.600 Why?
00:57:37.800 How do they not have a date?
00:57:38.560 So the estimate is that it's going to be
00:57:41.300 in March this time.
00:57:42.440 And in the previous cycle, it was in
00:57:44.360 February.
00:57:45.160 So they keep pushing the date a little
00:57:47.060 bit.
00:57:47.520 And by announcing in November of last
00:57:50.340 year, Trump extended, you know, the
00:57:51.960 primary season just that much more.
00:57:53.780 Yeah.
00:57:54.260 That's so confusing.
00:57:55.420 OK, but that's good.
00:57:56.320 I mean, more time, I think, is good for,
00:57:57.840 you know, Ron DeSantis.
00:57:59.000 Right.
00:57:59.140 He needs he needs a runway to close
00:58:01.780 that gap.
00:58:03.020 And all the candidates.
00:58:04.240 I mean, and all of them.
00:58:05.440 Right.
00:58:05.600 I mean, yeah, the one thing that I
00:58:07.220 mean, realistically, is there another
00:58:09.260 candidate after Ron DeSantis?
00:58:10.960 I mean, with respect, I like all those
00:58:12.340 guys, too.
00:58:12.760 I mean, I could potentially vote for any
00:58:14.340 one of those guys like you guys.
00:58:16.260 But real is I mean, there's no
00:58:17.280 Christy Christy is not going in.
00:58:19.560 No, not happy.
00:58:20.800 I mean, again, I remember on that
00:58:22.620 Bill Maher show when they asked
00:58:26.260 Ann Coulter who she thinks is going to
00:58:28.160 win.
00:58:28.480 And she said Donald Trump and everyone
00:58:29.940 laughed at her.
00:58:31.700 Yeah, I think it is like it is the
00:58:34.320 wildest sport there ever is.
00:58:36.420 You can never know who's going to win
00:58:38.680 until voters hit those booths.
00:58:40.260 I mean, I think, again, his victory over
00:58:42.000 Hillary is another perfect example.
00:58:43.780 Strange things happen in those first
00:58:46.460 few contests.
00:58:48.320 I mean, just recall, Ted Cruz won the
00:58:50.060 Iowa caucus.
00:58:50.960 Right.
00:58:51.400 I mean, that's almost impossible to
00:58:53.420 remember.
00:58:53.980 But but that did happen.
00:58:56.640 But was there I mean, I'm trying to
00:58:58.320 remember whether there was an election
00:58:59.480 because I remember the Jeb Bush lead
00:59:01.620 and then you know what happened.
00:59:02.920 He sat down with me at Liberty
00:59:04.100 University and he said some
00:59:05.260 controversial things about Iraq and
00:59:06.580 his poll numbers went off the cliff
00:59:08.060 that I was doing like that, Megan.
00:59:12.320 It was like a foreseeable question I
00:59:14.100 was asking about Iraq, given that it
00:59:15.640 was anyway, I like Jeb Bush, but that
00:59:18.100 didn't go well for him.
00:59:19.260 And the things changed dramatically.
00:59:22.500 Was there another election in which
00:59:24.100 the frontrunner was up 38 points
00:59:27.300 and then fell off?
00:59:28.940 I mean, I was crushing Joe Biden.
00:59:32.360 I think he won Iowa and New Hampshire
00:59:33.880 and then they cut some secret deal in
00:59:35.820 South Carolina.
00:59:36.260 But he was just Bernie Sanders.
00:59:38.300 Well, Bernie was.
00:59:39.200 But Pete, I guess Pete also stole it.
00:59:41.140 But he won in Iowa and New Hampshire.
00:59:42.280 Joe, he was down fourth.
00:59:44.320 He wasn't up 40 points.
00:59:46.320 But no, but that contest was a lot more
00:59:49.000 concentrated and squished in terms of
00:59:51.020 the numbers.
00:59:51.660 The Democratic primary last time around
00:59:53.300 you're talking about than this.
00:59:54.800 I mean, I'm not making an argument for
00:59:56.420 Trump.
00:59:56.700 I'm just I'm genuinely curious as an
00:59:58.580 electoral watcher whether somebody's
01:00:00.660 ever in the number two spot or worse
01:00:03.440 overcome that kind of deficit.
01:00:06.240 I mean, this is a big one.
01:00:07.300 And the consolidation for Trump, I think,
01:00:09.000 is, you know, as a result of being a
01:00:11.220 former president, more much more
01:00:13.320 significant than you typically get in
01:00:16.100 an out of party, out of power party
01:00:19.020 in a primary.
01:00:20.220 So I mean, look, there's a bunch of
01:00:21.860 things that he's got going for him, for
01:00:23.760 sure. But it is not out of the realm
01:00:26.160 of possibilities that things happen on
01:00:27.900 the way to a victory here.
01:00:29.700 I mean, you look at somebody like
01:00:31.120 Howard Dean in 2004 that had a pretty
01:00:33.240 commanding lead.
01:00:34.540 John Kerry wasn't even really registering
01:00:36.260 at that point and got the Democratic
01:00:37.680 nomination.
01:00:38.860 There have been episodes over the years
01:00:41.080 where you've had somebody that you
01:00:42.780 didn't. I mean, look, Bill Clinton in
01:00:44.860 1992 was it was another one of those
01:00:47.680 situations where
01:00:49.160 it didn't look to me like he was putting
01:00:51.920 much together and then all of a sudden
01:00:53.280 went on to steamroll.
01:00:54.400 I'm not saying that that's not really
01:00:55.660 going to happen in here, but I it's
01:00:58.000 definitely not over.
01:00:58.900 Let's just put it that way.
01:01:00.140 Mm hmm.
01:01:01.400 Well, I it's I mean, like the whole
01:01:03.780 thing is.
01:01:05.900 Seeming to me like it's playing out
01:01:07.980 exactly the way the Democrats want.
01:01:10.800 Am I wrong?
01:01:12.080 They want I know that they'd love to
01:01:14.100 see Trump in jail.
01:01:14.980 They'd love that.
01:01:15.840 But I mean, it's funny.
01:01:17.680 They equally want him to be the
01:01:19.280 nominee because they think they can
01:01:20.280 be like those.
01:01:21.680 That's how I keep for them.
01:01:22.760 Yeah.
01:01:22.860 What do you say?
01:01:23.340 I said it's helpful.
01:01:25.860 They can guide the way things go when
01:01:27.400 you control the Justice Department
01:01:28.500 and the media.
01:01:29.160 Yes, that's pretty helpful.
01:01:31.260 True.
01:01:31.720 And higher education and higher
01:01:33.160 education corporations.
01:01:34.240 You guys are in this line of work for
01:01:35.960 a living.
01:01:36.340 Do you think this is playing out the
01:01:38.440 way they wanted and planned?
01:01:41.240 I think it is.
01:01:42.340 I mean, if you talk to consultants
01:01:44.180 and I talk to a few of them here and
01:01:45.940 there just to stay honest on what's
01:01:48.120 actually happening out there and
01:01:49.760 whether I'm, you know, lying to
01:01:51.400 myself about Republicans chances,
01:01:53.260 every single one of them say that
01:01:54.620 they have a very hard time turning
01:01:56.520 out their base with some sort of
01:01:58.760 key motivating factor.
01:02:00.340 It won in a couple cycles ago.
01:02:01.960 It was Obama.
01:02:02.780 Last cycle, it was Trump.
01:02:03.920 And they think that there is no chance
01:02:05.740 that they can turn out their
01:02:07.200 electorate for old man Joe Biden
01:02:09.400 unless they have something like
01:02:11.100 Donald Trump on the other side.
01:02:12.680 Yeah.
01:02:12.880 And honestly, that's why you hear
01:02:14.980 these Democrat talking points from
01:02:16.800 Stewart Stevens and MSNBC and all
01:02:18.740 the rest saying that, oh,
01:02:20.440 Ron DeSantis is worse than Donald
01:02:21.980 Trump because that that's their
01:02:23.560 only hope is that they can sell to
01:02:25.460 their base that this guy is
01:02:27.040 something worse if somehow Ron
01:02:28.460 DeSantis is able to overcome Trump
01:02:29.900 in the primary.
01:02:31.060 That's a good point.
01:02:32.200 I'll add to that.
01:02:34.340 There's a new CNN poll that was
01:02:37.040 just conducted in June saying
01:02:39.060 only thirty three percent of the
01:02:41.300 American electorate in the poll
01:02:43.140 has a favorable opinion of
01:02:45.320 Donald Trump.
01:02:46.320 Only thirty two percent have a
01:02:48.120 favorable opinion of Joe Biden.
01:02:51.280 CNN noting that usually most
01:02:53.600 Americans like at least one of the
01:02:55.160 candidates running for president.
01:02:57.280 They don't.
01:03:00.660 They don't like these two, the
01:03:02.100 front runner on the GOP side or the
01:03:03.600 actual sitting president at all.
01:03:05.040 So to your point, what would
01:03:07.380 motivate Joe Biden's
01:03:08.960 the Democrat electorate, never
01:03:11.260 mind writ large, all of us, they
01:03:12.960 can't stand him.
01:03:13.860 So how do you get them to go vote
01:03:14.960 for him?
01:03:16.580 No, they can't.
01:03:17.340 They know they can't.
01:03:18.300 And they know that that's their
01:03:19.280 that's their Achilles here is that
01:03:20.840 they have a candidate who's got one
01:03:22.200 foot in the grave and they're
01:03:23.100 already thinking about what sort of
01:03:24.240 flower arrangements they want to
01:03:25.480 then.
01:03:26.440 Yes.
01:03:26.920 Oh, and by the way, the only person
01:03:28.560 who makes Joe Biden and Donald
01:03:29.920 Trump look popular is Kamala Harris.
01:03:31.800 Her numbers are absolutely dreadful.
01:03:35.040 I don't have him in front of me, but
01:03:36.680 my God, she's the lead.
01:03:37.880 The stat was she's the least
01:03:39.880 liked vice president in
01:03:41.940 American history.
01:03:43.040 And may I remind you, we used to
01:03:45.200 have Dick Cheney, who was not
01:03:46.700 exactly beloved when he was in
01:03:48.520 office.
01:03:49.100 Her numbers are worse.
01:03:51.080 Yeah, Megan, she's 17 points
01:03:52.700 underwater and that's that's an
01:03:54.040 NBC poll.
01:03:55.140 So that's not exactly a Republican
01:03:56.580 pollster who's saying that she's
01:03:58.000 the most she's the most
01:03:59.560 unpopular ever.
01:04:00.720 She is awful.
01:04:01.620 And Democrats know that that makes
01:04:03.100 their case even worse.
01:04:04.420 Well, I mean, it also closes their
01:04:05.980 options.
01:04:06.440 Right.
01:04:06.960 I mean, they're looking they know the
01:04:08.480 same thing that we're looking at.
01:04:09.900 You saw that MSNBC or the NBC poll
01:04:11.960 where they had 68 percent of the
01:04:14.060 electorate, including 43 percent of
01:04:15.820 Democrats that say that Joe Biden's
01:04:17.460 unfit.
01:04:18.280 Not that they don't like him or he's
01:04:19.580 not doing a good job, but he's like
01:04:20.720 literally physically, mentally,
01:04:22.560 mentally unfit for office.
01:04:25.740 And you might ask yourself, like, how
01:04:27.180 how is that possible to overcome?
01:04:28.520 Well, I mean, as you've mentioned on
01:04:30.120 our show today, John Fetterman is a
01:04:32.560 pretty good example of how Democrats
01:04:33.920 consolidate around that.
01:04:35.520 Right.
01:04:35.740 Right.
01:04:36.040 I mean, they can vote as long as
01:04:37.720 you have a baseline pulse.
01:04:39.920 You can get to 51 percent.
01:04:42.380 But but it's also closed out their
01:04:43.780 options and that they have to go with
01:04:45.260 Joe Biden.
01:04:45.800 And so to Ashbrook's point, I mean,
01:04:47.840 there was a great piece in Axios the
01:04:49.420 other day that said, what's the plan
01:04:51.140 for 2024 for Joe Biden?
01:04:52.840 Well, same as 2020.
01:04:54.580 And they go on to outline how they're
01:04:56.540 going to talk about all the base
01:04:57.780 stuff that they did in the first
01:04:59.140 year of this presidency, which only
01:05:01.500 only appeals to a base
01:05:04.660 Democratic electorate.
01:05:05.740 It is deeply unpopular with
01:05:07.140 everybody else.
01:05:07.820 So it's trying to keep them on
01:05:09.100 board.
01:05:09.540 And then you just hide them in the
01:05:10.640 basement.
01:05:11.020 You come out with no new proposals.
01:05:12.600 They were contrasting that to like
01:05:14.240 all these Republicans were talking
01:05:15.480 about different things that they
01:05:17.040 would do to try to improve the
01:05:18.080 country.
01:05:18.500 And the Biden camp says, nope,
01:05:20.360 we're not going to do any of that
01:05:21.300 because we're not going to create
01:05:22.320 news.
01:05:22.640 We are banking on the other side
01:05:24.740 nominating Donald Trump.
01:05:25.860 And we can do the same thing in 24
01:05:27.840 that we did in 20, which is just
01:05:29.460 say, I'm not him.
01:05:30.560 I'm going to sit in my basement and
01:05:32.300 I'm going to be hooked to a
01:05:33.500 cardiograph for the next six
01:05:35.420 months.
01:05:35.760 And again, I think the Fetterman
01:05:36.700 point is great because that was
01:05:38.100 yet another instance of the only
01:05:39.540 animating factor that Democrats
01:05:41.300 could have is Donald Trump.
01:05:42.380 They said, this is Donald Trump's
01:05:43.440 guy we're running against.
01:05:44.700 Don't vote for Donald Trump's
01:05:45.840 guy.
01:05:46.520 So he is a huge motivator for
01:05:49.100 Dems to get out.
01:05:49.980 They used him in the midterms.
01:05:51.140 Anyone who could be associated with
01:05:52.480 Donald Trump ended up losing the
01:05:54.160 general.
01:05:54.380 Yeah, that's a fact.
01:05:55.960 Well, they clearly don't want fit on
01:05:57.380 the Democratic side, which somebody
01:05:58.700 should tell RFK Jr.
01:06:01.440 Because he's all over Twitter in the
01:06:05.220 last 24 hours.
01:06:06.140 I'm sure you guys saw this because he
01:06:08.180 put out a videotape of him shirtless.
01:06:11.560 And he's 70 years old.
01:06:13.480 Is he 69 or 70?
01:06:15.200 He's 69 years old doing pushups.
01:06:17.860 Here he is.
01:06:18.560 He wants you to know that this is the
01:06:19.860 last 10 of the many, many sets of 10
01:06:22.440 that he was doing, which is why he ran
01:06:23.700 out of gas in the last nine or 10.
01:06:26.000 I'm not seeing a full extension there
01:06:27.940 either.
01:06:28.360 I feel like that's a short pushup.
01:06:30.740 You got to.
01:06:31.380 I mean, the man is built like a truck.
01:06:33.480 Let's see it all the way up.
01:06:36.180 Well, we don't know how many sets of
01:06:37.680 10 he had done, but he put this out
01:06:40.220 and he the caption was getting in shape
01:06:42.120 for my debates with President Biden.
01:06:44.160 Of course, those are the debates that
01:06:45.300 are never going to happen because the
01:06:46.360 Dems won't allow it, even though 80% of
01:06:48.200 the Democrats say it should happen, but
01:06:50.200 the party leaders are in charge.
01:06:51.880 He says, as president, I will restore
01:06:54.900 America as the global example of health
01:06:56.840 and well-being, not through pills or
01:06:59.080 syringes, but through character and
01:07:00.840 self-discipline.
01:07:01.600 And I will continue to walk the walk and
01:07:03.060 lead by example.
01:07:04.780 The thread went on about physical
01:07:06.060 fitness and how to turn it around for
01:07:07.580 yourself.
01:07:08.560 And then you got all these people
01:07:11.760 on the Internet.
01:07:13.600 It's so funny.
01:07:14.640 People have time on their hands that
01:07:17.180 the guys from Ruthless do not have.
01:07:18.960 OK, they put together threads of
01:07:21.740 shirtless RFK Jr.
01:07:23.900 photos over the years to make the
01:07:27.280 argument that today's RFK Jr.
01:07:29.980 is clearly on steroids in their view
01:07:32.520 because you don't look better.
01:07:34.440 Look, there he is with JFK Jr.
01:07:37.000 and RFK Jr.
01:07:37.860 together that that you don't look
01:07:39.820 better with more muscles at 69 than
01:07:42.400 he did when you were 39 or 49.
01:07:45.240 What say you, my jurors?
01:07:47.400 I don't know.
01:07:48.180 I think Jack LaLanne would beg to
01:07:49.760 differ.
01:07:50.580 And apparently he's running for
01:07:52.080 president right now.
01:07:52.980 It's the perfect contrast to old man
01:07:54.680 Joe Biden.
01:07:55.560 And I mean, they must know it because
01:07:57.320 they're putting him out left and
01:07:58.840 right.
01:07:59.320 I honestly can't wait to see what
01:08:00.940 exercise this dude.
01:08:02.040 This dude's going to march around the
01:08:03.500 Iowa State Fair in a banana hammock
01:08:05.240 before this thing's over.
01:08:06.620 I mean, this is some of the most
01:08:09.280 this is like erotica.
01:08:11.000 It's bordering on complete
01:08:12.720 pornography.
01:08:14.320 I'd say the dude, I mean, dude
01:08:16.180 is shredded.
01:08:17.040 He was on incline putting up.
01:08:19.120 I think it was 110, but he said
01:08:20.220 it was like the last set of the
01:08:21.140 day.
01:08:21.480 He said he was putting up to 200,
01:08:23.200 200 plus earlier.
01:08:24.260 He's got the seven year old.
01:08:25.760 He's got the bulk.
01:08:26.480 Now he needs reps for toning.
01:08:28.100 I mean, that's what he's doing.
01:08:29.660 You know, I have to say, I do not
01:08:32.160 believe he would be so bold as to
01:08:33.980 say, I'm going to be an example of
01:08:36.100 health without syringes and
01:08:37.980 pills.
01:08:39.020 And then I don't I don't he I
01:08:40.540 don't he doesn't strike me as that
01:08:42.200 flagrantly dishonest a man.
01:08:44.080 I know people have the wrong
01:08:44.980 impression of him, but I don't think
01:08:46.860 he would have said that if he were
01:08:47.920 on steroids.
01:08:48.500 Not that there's anything wrong.
01:08:49.300 A lot of guys when they get older,
01:08:50.980 take testosterone, which I realize
01:08:52.540 is not exactly the same thing.
01:08:54.180 But or is it?
01:08:56.100 I don't know.
01:08:56.700 I don't totally understand.
01:08:57.860 Well, maybe maybe they should, you
01:08:59.220 know, if if Democrats are trying to
01:09:01.040 be transparent, maybe they should
01:09:02.340 allow Joe Biden's doctors to do a
01:09:04.420 full workup on RFK and allow RFK's
01:09:06.680 doctors to do a full workup on Joe
01:09:08.480 Biden.
01:09:08.920 That's a great idea.
01:09:10.140 Or just straight up meet him at
01:09:11.700 Venice Beach, go to Gold's Gym and
01:09:13.300 see who can run the Democrat Party.
01:09:16.700 I wrestle.
01:09:18.000 All right.
01:09:18.220 Wait.
01:09:18.400 So while we're talking about the
01:09:19.340 fashion and the banana hammock, I
01:09:20.800 got I got I got.
01:09:21.940 God, did you want to say something
01:09:22.780 Holmes?
01:09:24.920 No, I was just going to say, like,
01:09:26.040 I'm sorry that we couldn't provide
01:09:27.300 more insights on male
01:09:28.700 supplements for you.
01:09:29.760 And it's unfortunately not part of
01:09:31.420 our gig.
01:09:31.880 We'll look into it for the next
01:09:33.340 show.
01:09:33.800 Yeah.
01:09:34.280 But but I think you're going to
01:09:35.940 like this next segment because you
01:09:37.100 do have I know you have thoughts
01:09:38.520 on sexy man dress.
01:09:41.480 Oh, they don't know what the guy
01:09:45.240 who's stealing luggage.
01:09:46.860 No, I don't.
01:09:47.900 Is this a Biden guy who is
01:09:49.100 Sam Brinton?
01:09:50.340 No, different kind of sexy man
01:09:51.960 dress, sexy man dressing.
01:09:53.880 I'm afraid of what you are going to
01:09:55.420 do here.
01:09:56.040 I'm here.
01:09:56.880 You just watch and learn, sir.
01:09:58.860 The Wall Street Journal wants you
01:10:00.220 to know that if you think
01:10:02.020 dressing sexily is
01:10:03.940 only for women, you're wrong.
01:10:06.560 No one talks about it.
01:10:07.940 They write.
01:10:08.300 But men sometimes want to look
01:10:10.080 hot, too.
01:10:11.280 Here's how to turn heads without
01:10:12.500 looking sleazy on
01:10:14.180 date night.
01:10:15.360 Could you be dressing sexier?
01:10:17.660 Asks the article.
01:10:18.660 A guide for men.
01:10:21.100 OK, you may or may not
01:10:22.660 understand.
01:10:23.140 I mean, like, look at you.
01:10:23.840 You clearly do understand.
01:10:24.980 It's obvious to anyone.
01:10:26.620 OK.
01:10:26.840 Oh, that is very, very kind.
01:10:28.960 Thank you.
01:10:29.540 Would you like to stand up and show
01:10:30.700 us your well-fitting pants?
01:10:32.300 Well-fitting pants are key to your
01:10:33.700 outfit.
01:10:34.300 Do you have well-fitting pants on?
01:10:36.340 Yes.
01:10:40.940 He's got no-fitting pants on.
01:10:42.720 It's what he's got.
01:10:44.120 Do you have outfits with alluring
01:10:46.420 textures?
01:10:47.560 Think cashmere, suede, or even
01:10:49.600 eye-leaded cotton.
01:10:52.260 Do you have that on?
01:10:53.000 Oh, that strikes me as a
01:10:56.360 potential problem for many
01:10:57.820 reasons.
01:10:58.340 I don't know what kind of
01:10:59.220 cotton that is, but it seems
01:11:01.720 like maybe the thinner variety.
01:11:03.760 I'm not sure that doesn't break
01:11:05.300 several taste barriers.
01:11:06.580 Well, I'll tell you what.
01:11:07.520 Literally, I'm looking at three
01:11:09.040 men in...
01:11:09.800 Makes the girls go crazy on
01:11:11.240 date night.
01:11:12.240 I'm looking at three men in
01:11:13.380 sweatshirts, hoodies, and
01:11:15.360 there's smog in his signature
01:11:16.840 vest.
01:11:17.880 It's like flea's vest, so...
01:11:20.320 Okay, but listen, I can help
01:11:22.240 you, okay?
01:11:22.860 I can help you.
01:11:23.360 The Wall Street Journal has
01:11:24.160 done our work for us.
01:11:26.520 Here's a couple of don'ts,
01:11:27.860 all right?
01:11:28.680 Polos so shrunken, they
01:11:30.840 suffocate your biceps.
01:11:32.440 Not sexy.
01:11:33.400 Got it?
01:11:34.420 Saran-wrapped tight jeans with
01:11:36.100 a phone and a wallet bulging
01:11:37.540 from the pockets.
01:11:38.700 They say that's the most
01:11:40.280 powerful contraceptive known
01:11:42.480 to man.
01:11:43.360 I don't know.
01:11:43.840 Bulging wallet, that can be
01:11:45.380 attractive.
01:11:45.740 This whole thing with the
01:11:50.020 word bulge is just not the
01:11:51.800 direction I thought this was
01:11:53.100 going to happen.
01:11:55.600 Okay, look, if you want it,
01:11:57.760 maybe you want to go beginner
01:11:58.860 sexy, all right?
01:11:59.860 You guys might want to just try
01:12:00.920 beginner sexy.
01:12:01.740 Beginner sexy is buttonless
01:12:04.500 polo.
01:12:05.120 I had to look that up.
01:12:06.560 There's like a little polo
01:12:07.660 shirt you can get that looks
01:12:09.320 like any polo shirt, but
01:12:10.680 instead of having the buttons
01:12:11.700 on the little collar, it has
01:12:13.260 nothing.
01:12:13.980 It's just like a little V with
01:12:15.740 a tiny collar.
01:12:17.060 So that's you can wear these
01:12:18.180 yellow pants.
01:12:19.320 Right?
01:12:19.820 I look at those pants and that
01:12:21.020 shirt and I think you're ready
01:12:21.840 for the bingo haul.
01:12:24.620 All right.
01:12:26.080 So beginner sexy is out for
01:12:28.400 Duncan.
01:12:30.020 Intermediate sexy.
01:12:30.980 Honestly, you had a walker and
01:12:32.240 that looks like a Joe Biden
01:12:33.460 outfit.
01:12:34.820 How about intermediate sexy?
01:12:36.840 Look at this, guys.
01:12:38.080 Intermediate sexy is a T with
01:12:39.900 character.
01:12:40.360 If you can find a fun item
01:12:42.320 that resonates with you, you
01:12:44.300 are on your way to intermediate
01:12:45.700 sexy single button blazer with
01:12:48.700 sloped shoulders and dark
01:12:51.340 jeans.
01:12:51.840 Let's put it back on the board.
01:12:52.680 What do we think?
01:12:53.300 Dark jeans.
01:12:53.860 That's nice.
01:12:54.640 Could you do this?
01:12:56.220 No, you only wear denim if
01:12:57.160 you're gardening.
01:12:59.000 What?
01:13:01.860 You're either a farmer or you're
01:13:03.120 gardening.
01:13:05.740 In certain circumstances, what I
01:13:08.080 can tell you is if you're
01:13:09.360 looking for a shirt with
01:13:10.340 character, you can go to
01:13:11.260 store.ruthless.com and you
01:13:13.180 can figure out how to find one
01:13:14.520 there.
01:13:16.760 What's going on in this belt?
01:13:18.680 What?
01:13:18.860 There's like a is there a bell
01:13:20.100 on that belt?
01:13:20.880 Is it a is it like a I don't
01:13:23.040 know, it looks like like a
01:13:24.200 spike.
01:13:24.720 I don't know that that might be
01:13:25.480 a little aggressive right
01:13:26.300 around the male region.
01:13:28.000 Oh, that's I thought that was
01:13:29.280 a key chain.
01:13:30.780 No, that looks like the kind
01:13:31.980 of thing.
01:13:32.380 Remember, remember in the 90s
01:13:33.720 when they'd wear like the
01:13:34.580 spike belts with the chain
01:13:36.260 off it?
01:13:37.240 Yeah.
01:13:37.520 Yeah.
01:13:37.680 Yeah.
01:13:37.820 But you wouldn't rock those
01:13:38.800 jeans.
01:13:39.160 You'd have Jenko's.
01:13:40.040 Right.
01:13:40.300 And those would be baggy.
01:13:41.580 Yeah.
01:13:41.720 But look at them, dude.
01:13:42.560 They look super bad.
01:13:43.940 I mean, that is what I don't
01:13:45.320 appreciate.
01:13:46.060 And this is just a personal
01:13:47.100 pet peeve when it comes to the
01:13:48.720 graphic tees, like have it
01:13:50.000 mean something to you.
01:13:50.860 What the hell is Motorcycle
01:13:52.160 Club Inc?
01:13:53.260 Who the hell are you?
01:13:54.180 Yeah.
01:13:54.500 Yeah.
01:13:54.660 I mean, you need a Ruthless
01:13:55.600 T or a Megan or a Megan
01:13:56.920 T or maybe like look at
01:13:58.600 when I get some merch or
01:13:59.560 some of these days.
01:14:01.020 Now, I'm not going to show
01:14:02.440 you if you put if you put
01:14:03.640 that one on, she might
01:14:04.520 think, oh, he must drive a
01:14:05.700 motorcycle.
01:14:07.720 Now, I'm not going to show
01:14:09.780 you the ultimate sexy yet.
01:14:11.200 OK, just stand by because I
01:14:12.380 have to tell you story first.
01:14:13.640 This time last year, I was
01:14:15.300 here.
01:14:15.580 I'm at the Jersey Shore.
01:14:16.540 I do this show from the
01:14:17.740 Jersey Shore over the summer.
01:14:19.800 And I talked with the guys
01:14:22.320 from Fifth Column about my
01:14:24.180 husband's fashion.
01:14:25.300 Air France had lost all five
01:14:26.900 of our bags.
01:14:27.920 I was lamenting the loss of so
01:14:29.380 many clothing, items of
01:14:30.860 clothing that we loved.
01:14:31.660 But I said the only person
01:14:33.040 who was happy was Doug
01:14:33.980 because he literally only
01:14:36.160 wears one T-shirt and he
01:14:38.580 had it.
01:14:39.140 And it was his Mickey Mouse
01:14:40.940 shirt.
01:14:41.980 Doug loves his Mickey Mouse
01:14:43.280 shirt.
01:14:43.960 I think we have the sound
01:14:44.920 bite.
01:14:45.180 Do we have the sound
01:14:45.680 bite?
01:14:46.200 Yes.
01:14:46.880 I actually, while talking
01:14:48.440 about this, pulled Doug
01:14:49.940 into the studio and watch
01:14:51.240 what happened.
01:14:52.760 Oh, my God.
01:14:53.520 Can you look at this?
01:14:54.580 Look at him.
01:14:55.900 Oh, my God.
01:14:57.740 I was wearing a Mickey
01:14:58.900 Mouse T-shirt.
01:15:01.120 Wow.
01:15:01.660 He wears it all the time.
01:15:16.240 I mean, if it had legs, it
01:15:17.480 would get up and walk off
01:15:18.380 of him.
01:15:19.060 So we went to France this
01:15:20.520 year.
01:15:20.700 We took our vacation in
01:15:21.480 France and I posted a picture
01:15:24.580 of Doug.
01:15:25.080 There he is in the Mickey
01:15:26.340 Mouse T-shirt again, which
01:15:27.820 made its way.
01:15:28.360 It's gone all over the world.
01:15:29.300 But not Disney.
01:15:35.040 Does he have multiple
01:15:36.520 versions of this one shirt
01:15:37.840 or is it literally just one
01:15:39.200 shirt?
01:15:40.340 No.
01:15:40.740 That's awesome.
01:15:41.380 He literally wears that.
01:15:42.540 He's got an RC Cola shirt
01:15:44.220 that he wears as well.
01:15:45.800 That's it.
01:15:46.920 Guy likes what he likes.
01:15:48.780 This is a dude, Megan.
01:15:50.020 You got a great one here.
01:15:51.360 This guy, he's picked it out.
01:15:53.120 He's sticking with it.
01:15:54.120 Yeah.
01:15:54.380 It's work.
01:15:54.960 I mean, Hallie's married to
01:15:56.300 Megyn Kelly.
01:15:57.060 It's got to be working.
01:15:58.080 As long as it doesn't show up
01:16:01.320 at Disney in the Disney shirt
01:16:03.260 without your kids, because in
01:16:04.720 that case, charges.
01:16:06.380 Too much.
01:16:07.160 So I made fun of Doug's fashion
01:16:09.680 for many, many years.
01:16:11.260 All right.
01:16:11.540 Like when I first met Doug back
01:16:13.480 in 2006, it was a setup.
01:16:15.940 Right.
01:16:16.180 It was a blind date.
01:16:17.300 I show up.
01:16:18.480 You're having your first date.
01:16:19.500 Now, I wasn't well known at the
01:16:20.520 time, but I was on Fox News.
01:16:21.820 I was like a cub reporter.
01:16:24.300 So like he kind of knew who I was.
01:16:26.080 And I was like, maybe you try a
01:16:27.380 little, right?
01:16:27.980 Like you try a little.
01:16:28.920 It's a sexy girl from Fox News.
01:16:30.840 That's how I wanted to present
01:16:31.840 myself anyway.
01:16:33.060 He came to our blind date with
01:16:35.600 high-waisted khaki pants with
01:16:38.540 the flat front, high-waisted and
01:16:41.480 a yellow golf shirt, people.
01:16:44.180 Yellow.
01:16:45.440 I'm like, what?
01:16:46.920 Like a king.
01:16:47.440 What the fuck is this?
01:16:48.720 Like a king.
01:16:51.620 You're like, man, if he's got the
01:16:53.280 audacity to do that, he must be up
01:16:55.320 to something.
01:16:55.920 This guy sounds like confidence
01:16:57.420 plus.
01:16:58.200 And if he was working a pleat, then
01:17:00.180 you really know it's over the top.
01:17:01.900 Like if you have a nice pleat.
01:17:04.400 All I could think was that his
01:17:06.240 prior girlfriend had sabotaged
01:17:08.460 him so that he wouldn't be
01:17:10.080 available or interesting to any
01:17:11.960 other women.
01:17:12.880 And I was just getting the
01:17:14.140 remnants of that and that, you
01:17:15.300 know, diamond in the rough diamond
01:17:16.340 that we could work together on
01:17:17.640 it.
01:17:17.920 So I've made fun of Doug and his
01:17:19.280 fashion for years.
01:17:20.240 And that is what takes me, folks,
01:17:22.400 to black diamond sexy.
01:17:25.300 This is the top level, according
01:17:27.160 to the journal.
01:17:27.840 Oh, my God.
01:17:28.380 People.
01:17:28.760 There it is.
01:17:29.700 High-waisted pants and a yellow
01:17:32.080 golf shirt.
01:17:33.500 You knew.
01:17:35.660 The man's ahead of his time.
01:17:37.440 It's ahead of his time.
01:17:38.640 And he's with a beater in
01:17:41.300 there, too.
01:17:42.100 I mean, that I didn't see that
01:17:43.540 coming, but it's nice to know.
01:17:45.060 Is that an Apple watch?
01:17:46.560 What is that?
01:17:47.140 I mean, I don't know about the
01:17:48.000 candles, but other than that,
01:17:49.300 it seems like a good setup.
01:17:50.780 But what was that?
01:17:52.380 What was it?
01:17:52.900 Was that a jewelry or something?
01:17:54.440 Oh, no.
01:17:54.880 I don't know.
01:17:55.720 Was it a ring, Kelly McGuire?
01:17:57.860 Oh, if it's a pinky ring, then
01:18:00.660 we're really on to something.
01:18:01.960 I mean, that outfit looks like
01:18:03.240 you're ready to be an extra on
01:18:04.800 The Sopranos.
01:18:06.020 A pinky ring with mandals?
01:18:08.800 He didn't wear that.
01:18:10.120 This was the jersey consultants.
01:18:13.300 I can definitely see where this
01:18:15.320 was happening.
01:18:16.020 You're just missing a couple of
01:18:17.260 gold chains there.
01:18:18.360 And I think you've got the full
01:18:19.600 deal.
01:18:20.580 I called him over this morning,
01:18:22.680 guys, when I was reading my
01:18:23.820 packet and Kelly McGuire showed
01:18:25.100 me these pictures.
01:18:25.820 And I said, Doug, you've got to
01:18:27.300 look at it.
01:18:27.600 He goes, all along, he's like,
01:18:29.860 you've been mocking me and I've
01:18:31.380 been black diamond sexy.
01:18:33.020 You just didn't understand.
01:18:34.780 He's like, you're the saboteur.
01:18:36.580 You're the saboteur, not the
01:18:38.280 ex-girlfriend.
01:18:42.500 I love this story.
01:18:44.100 That's fantastic.
01:18:45.760 I thought you'd appreciate that.
01:18:47.320 So there you go.
01:18:48.160 If you decide to, you know, take
01:18:49.420 your ladies out for a nice
01:18:50.920 special dinner, you should consider
01:18:52.200 the mandals, the pinky ring and
01:18:54.180 the Doug Brunt.
01:18:54.880 I wish you pants in yellow.
01:18:57.220 You're welcome.
01:18:58.000 Thank you for that advice.
01:19:01.980 That's good.
01:19:03.540 Thank you, gentlemen.
01:19:04.400 Good.
01:19:04.560 That could be your first or your
01:19:05.900 next YouTube outfit.
01:19:07.440 You could consider that now that
01:19:09.060 you've gone visual.
01:19:11.200 You've got something here.
01:19:12.460 You've got something here.
01:19:13.620 Fellas, I think we can do that.
01:19:14.760 Yeah.
01:19:15.600 All the best, guys.
01:19:16.700 Great to see you.
01:19:17.980 Thank you, Megan.
01:19:18.640 Thanks so much.
01:19:21.740 Got a lot of great feedback on our
01:19:23.260 hot crime summer, which was what we
01:19:24.880 did the first week I was gone.
01:19:26.100 A bunch of shows we'd been working
01:19:27.540 on for you guys.
01:19:28.940 Meg writes in saying, I am grateful
01:19:30.680 for Crime Week.
01:19:31.560 As crazy as it is in terms of
01:19:33.380 murders, it's a reprieve from the
01:19:35.940 vitriol of politics.
01:19:37.400 I feel the same, Meg.
01:19:38.440 I love crime podcasts and I listen
01:19:40.700 to them all.
01:19:41.340 So it's it's my pleasure to bring
01:19:42.660 them to you.
01:19:43.660 MK style.
01:19:44.980 Stephanie writes in totally
01:19:46.140 enjoyed your crime week.
01:19:47.240 I'm not into crime stories on TV,
01:19:48.640 but listening to them on radio
01:19:50.300 captured my attention.
01:19:52.560 Thank you.
01:19:53.660 Jennifer writes in about turbulence
01:19:55.060 in response to our discussion
01:19:57.480 about the missing plane,
01:19:58.920 MH370, and our pilot turned
01:20:01.300 journalist who really made me
01:20:03.200 and a lot of our audience feel
01:20:04.260 better about turbulence.
01:20:05.600 He said he'd gone up like into
01:20:07.320 the eye of storms and hurricanes
01:20:08.920 for a living for a long time.
01:20:10.620 He said if you could see firsthand
01:20:13.060 like he has what planes can handle
01:20:15.400 the amount of turbulence and tumult,
01:20:18.140 you would feel so much better about
01:20:20.100 these minor bumps and whatever that
01:20:21.940 we feel when we're up there.
01:20:23.180 You'd never complain about
01:20:24.060 turbulence. He said it's ridiculous
01:20:25.460 to reroute planes because of
01:20:27.400 turbulence.
01:20:28.200 That's just like a comfort check
01:20:29.760 and people need to get tougher.
01:20:31.300 I felt so much better.
01:20:32.760 And so did Jennifer.
01:20:33.560 She writes in, I'm pretty terrified
01:20:34.740 to fly and sit in my seat,
01:20:36.040 white knuckled, asking why isn't
01:20:37.820 the captain saying anything
01:20:38.600 about turbulence?
01:20:39.740 Williams answers about turbulence
01:20:41.240 and why the pilot may not give
01:20:42.460 reassurance was helpful.
01:20:44.020 I have been told turbulence is like
01:20:45.320 a pothole on the road.
01:20:46.120 So I recite that over and over
01:20:47.260 while praying at the same time.
01:20:49.580 Some feedback on the HPV debate
01:20:52.660 we had, whether or not to give
01:20:53.620 that to your kids.
01:20:55.020 Jennifer says, thanks so much
01:20:56.080 for having that show.
01:20:57.000 I have two daughters who to date
01:20:58.280 have not been vaccinated for HPV
01:21:00.180 despite their pediatrician's advice.
01:21:02.340 It's really tricky.
01:21:03.660 And like you, I do not trust
01:21:05.060 the CDC anymore.
01:21:07.460 Last one here, preferred pronouns.
01:21:10.220 You remember my talking points memo
01:21:11.800 about a week before.
01:21:13.680 I was about a month ago now.
01:21:15.640 Renee writes in, this is why I'm
01:21:17.280 no longer going to use preferred
01:21:18.680 pronouns.
01:21:19.780 She writes in your opening monologue
01:21:21.240 from June 2nd has stayed with me.
01:21:23.320 And I just want to thank you
01:21:24.560 for what you're doing to arm
01:21:25.640 your listeners with strong
01:21:26.700 and concise arguments so we can
01:21:28.320 deploy and leverage them when
01:21:30.480 needed in this insane time.
01:21:32.620 That is a lovely compliment, Renee.
01:21:34.860 I appreciate that.
01:21:36.240 Ron also wrote in saying, I just
01:21:38.140 watched your show on pronouns.
01:21:39.240 You nailed it.
01:21:40.200 This BS toward women must stop.
01:21:41.820 It will only happen if everyone
01:21:42.900 stands up and says no more.
01:21:44.940 I'm so glad my daughter's a little
01:21:46.320 older.
01:21:47.100 I did not have to go through
01:21:48.420 this crap.
01:21:49.960 Unfortunately, we're all going
01:21:50.880 through it, Ron, but you're I
01:21:52.000 take your point.
01:21:52.660 The younger, the worse.
01:21:54.440 So, yeah, go ahead and take a
01:21:55.420 look.
01:21:55.540 It's on our YouTube timeline
01:21:57.200 that memo.
01:21:59.240 And it just sort of walks you
01:22:00.700 through why I'm no longer
01:22:02.140 going to do it and my own
01:22:03.560 evolution on this issue as a
01:22:05.040 journalist and a human.
01:22:07.060 Tomorrow, we have another great
01:22:08.580 show for you.
01:22:09.240 Rick Grinnell will be here.
01:22:11.060 Plus, we'll do Kelly's Court
01:22:13.100 with some of our stars, Mark
01:22:14.200 Garagos and Marsha Clark.
01:22:15.720 Such a great panel, cover all
01:22:17.660 the latest legal news, and
01:22:18.860 there's quite a bit.
01:22:19.900 So we'll see and talk to you
01:22:21.040 then.
01:22:25.300 Thanks for listening to The
01:22:26.420 Megan Kelly Show.
01:22:27.420 No BS, no agenda, and no fear.
