00:02:54.080 centering around a Home Depot in Paramount, California, an area in the L.A. Fashion District

00:03:04.680 Viral videos circulating on social media showing rioters waving Mexican flags,
00:03:09.460 throwing concrete chunks and rocks at law enforcement vehicles, injuring at least one agent,
00:03:14.560 launching fireworks, tossing shopping carts, and other large objects in the streets.
00:03:19.820 On Sunday, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem telling CBS that LAPD waited several hours
00:03:25.320 to respond to their calls for assistance.

00:03:32.780 them telling us that they're not going to back us up until they have an officer in a dangerous situation

00:06:43.080 you know, several warrants yesterday.

00:07:17.780 Kilmar Abrego-Garcia, the so-called Maryland man,
00:07:21.280 who is actually a Salvadoran national,
00:07:23.940 credibly accused of MS-13 membership,
00:07:26.300 is back on U.S. soil with a caveat.
00:07:28.960 He's now facing two federal charges
00:07:31.040 relating to human smuggling.
00:07:33.260 You may remember many media outlets,
00:07:35.040 including the New York Times, Axios, USA Today,
00:07:37.340 and the Washington Post,
00:07:38.800 all referring to Abrego-Garcia as just a Maryland man,
00:07:42.380 despite his status as an illegal immigrant.
00:07:44.600 Two immigration courts previously determining
00:07:47.440 there was sufficient evidence of his MS-13 membership
00:07:50.640 to deny him release on bond
00:07:53.060 as we were considering whether to deport him.
00:07:56.020 In 2019, an immigration judge granting Abrego-Garcia
00:07:59.320 withholding of removal to El Salvador,
00:08:02.760 meaning he was indeed deportable,
00:08:05.340 but the one nation he could not be sent back to
00:08:07.820 was his home country of El Salvador,
00:08:10.600 where he feared gang retaliation.
00:08:12.520 That is, unless that gang problem
00:08:14.880 was eliminated in the future.
00:08:17.220 In March of this year,
00:08:18.220 the feds deporting Abrego-Garcia
00:08:19.680 to a maximum security prison in El Salvador,
00:08:22.760 kicking off a legal battle that eventually landed
00:08:24.720 before the U.S. Supreme Court.
00:08:26.700 In April, the justices ordering the Trump administration
00:08:28.960 to facilitate, but not effectuate, his return.

00:08:35.860 initially declining to release Abrego-Garcia,

00:08:39.840 given his Salvadoran citizenship and his membership in MS-13.
