00:00:51.380 hey everyone i'm megan kelly welcome to the megan kelly show and happy
00:01:00.860 monday it's thanksgiving week yay that's exciting hope you have great plans the owner of the social
00:01:08.060 media platform formerly known as twitter and renamed x elon musk is going to war with the
00:01:14.220 the vile disgusting media matters they're awful they're dishonest if you hear media matter says
00:01:23.740 all your antennas should perk up i'm about to be fed some bullshit you may know media matters as a
00:01:29.840 progressive organization that uses pressure campaigns to suppress speech where they usually
00:01:35.060 focus their hate on fox news and any conservative commentator i have been the victim of their smears
00:01:42.500 many many times over the years which is why i have the opinion of them that i do but they have
00:01:48.960 started a new mission more recently trying to get advertisers on x to leave the platform they're
00:01:54.140 trying to kill x they can't stand cannot stand that there's one platform not controlled by their people
00:02:02.560 it's very annoying to them that elon musk will not bend the knee to them so this group whose owner has
00:02:12.060 offered anti-semitism of his own in the past now claims to be indignant not the owner but the ceo
00:02:19.560 he's indignant that elon musk allegedly posted something that was anti-semitic and now the media
00:02:26.920 jumps right in yes great elon musk twitter it's anti-semitic all these same organizations that have
00:02:34.640 been calling for a ceasefire right now all these same organizations that have been promoting the
00:02:39.460 messages uncritically from the river to the sea palestine will be free now they're really concerned
00:02:44.660 about alleged anti-semitism because the guy who allegedly said something controversial and the
00:02:50.720 platform at issue is elon musk and twitter today musk is fighting back promising he will be quote filing
00:02:58.600 a thermonuclear lawsuit against media matters and all those who colluded in this fraudulent attack on
00:03:06.240 our company that's how he put it we're going to get into this and more including the birthday of
00:03:11.760 our president joe biden 81 years today the american public got him some absolutely terrible polling
00:03:20.680 two of our favorites here to go over it all emily joshinsky is culture editor at the federalist and host of the
00:03:27.540 federalist radio hour and eliana johnson is editor of the washington free beacon co-host of the podcast
00:03:33.940 ink stained wretches and delightfully one of my two co-moderators at next month's gop debate the
00:03:42.780 third is elizabeth vargas of news nation together our guests today are the ej's emily and eliana

00:03:56.180 your voice from injury see healthy living differently with manulife visit manulife.ca
00:04:02.340 slash health welcome back you guys can try out some of your debate moderating on me
00:04:09.940 i i have every confidence you would hit all of these questions out of the park ej number one um
00:04:17.680 or maybe you're number two just depends on the day so i'm very into this whole elon musk thing because
00:04:22.740 i can't stand media matters as i seem to have referenced two minutes ago um i mean i've been
00:04:28.520 dealing with this group for a long long time since i joined fox uh and started coming up they would
00:04:33.500 take anything and everything i said completely out of context try to spin it into a controversy and
00:04:39.440 then try to get me fired i mean over and over and over and over my entire career and then including
00:04:46.180 to when i went to nbc and they pushed and pushed and pushed anything that i said that they could make
00:04:51.200 into controversial all over the internet their sole goal is to get conservatives fired to get anybody
00:04:57.360 right of center fired ruined canceled that's what they exist for i cannot believe that these companies
00:05:04.580 these big blue chip companies are jumping when media matter says jump there are they so clueless
00:05:13.760 they don't understand that this is a hack organization that you can't trust anything this group does
00:05:20.680 so we'll talk about what they're actually doing emily let me start with you on it what what they appear
00:05:26.180 to have done is they went on twitter this is according to elon and twitter x same same group
00:05:31.840 they say that what happened media matters came out and said a bunch of these blue chip brand
00:05:39.040 advertisements are appearing next to anti-semitic conduct content on x so you could be scrolling
00:05:46.060 along innocently looking for thanksgiving table ideas what's the best cranberry sauce and um you could
00:05:54.440 see an ibm ad or you could be searching up how much i hate the jews and who else feels as i do and then
00:06:02.620 boom there's the ibm ad and they went to ibm and they went to all these other blue chip companies and said
00:06:08.680 your content is appearing next to all the jew hatred so of course they were like oh i don't
00:06:13.640 want that that wasn't part of the deal and now they're pulling their ads from twitter all of them
00:06:18.680 on moss and twitter was already hurting with advertisers since elon took over so this actually
00:06:24.840 could be a bet your business situation for him but why is it that we do not believe the media matters
00:06:30.460 alleged discoveries emily are to be trusted yeah i mean media matters as you said megan is essentially
00:06:37.580 a leftist advocacy group that exists to ask to beg to demand that corporate america and corporate
00:06:44.860 executives police the boundaries of the free press they that is their entire existence which should
00:06:50.800 of course in theory be something the left is bitterly hostile to this idea that corporations
00:06:55.460 should pressure journalists to monitor the boundaries of their speech and to do it by the way in a
00:07:01.360 obviously ideologically leftist direction uh people don't think about media matters that way in fact ben
00:07:06.920 collins who is the disinformation reporter at nbc referred to quote media matters researchers today
00:07:12.540 which if you're a disinformation reporter ben collins loves to actually spread disinformation
00:07:16.680 uh as the disinformation reporter it's actually kind of a great title for him ironically but
00:07:21.180 you should probably not be referring to them just plainly as researchers because they're advocacy
00:07:26.660 uh activists essentially that's what they are and elon musk in his statement that he posted to x
00:07:32.540 said he has reason to believe that they were rigging the algorithm to get these reports and he specifically
00:07:39.440 mentioned as you said megan uh fraud and then stephen miller formerly worked for president trump
00:07:45.060 responded to elon musk in a tweet saying fraud is both a civil and a criminal offense the attorney
00:07:50.280 general of missouri said that his team was looking into this on behalf of musk because if media matters
00:07:56.820 i don't know megan you would know this better i don't know what potential legal action could be on the table
00:08:02.220 or legal vulnerabilities media matters would have in here i think that would be a really difficult
00:08:05.800 case to make but they are representing you know legal illegally or otherwise they are representing
00:08:12.080 advocacy as research and what's worse than an advocacy group doing that is the media laundering it
00:08:17.760 as though it's some sort of neutral piece of research rather than a completely rigged and i don't doubt
00:08:24.340 elon musk's uh accusations here that they you know created a couple puppet accounts and
00:08:30.140 intentionally started following you know the the people who would be spreading or the topics
00:08:35.040 where you were more likely to find this kind of information and then presented it as though you
00:08:39.720 know this was representative of the average twitter user the average x users experience when in fact it
00:08:44.120 wait let me just stop you there because that's important that's important so that would be like
00:08:47.300 if i wanted to bring down elon musk i'd go on twitter under the name you know
00:08:53.080 madge kirwin and i would just start following following following following all these anti-semitic
00:09:02.440 accounts and there are some for sure i mean twitter is a place for free speech like america and you're
00:09:07.620 going to get nasty takes and unlike the previous regime elon doesn't ban them all you know the most
00:09:13.460 extreme cases he will the threats of violence and so on but he doesn't ban them all so in any event
00:09:19.380 like anybody knows your user experience is like curated by you the algorithm learns what you like
00:09:26.520 what kind of content you like and then starts serving it back to you so you're saying madge kirwin
00:09:31.920 would quickly be identified by the by the x algorithm as like somebody who really likes the
00:09:37.780 anti-semitic stuff and then if madge stays on long enough the ads are going to pop up from the blue
00:09:44.200 chip advertisers who have bought mass space on x but they're not popping up to megan kelly to emily to
00:09:51.060 eliana because we're not running after that only if you're somebody who's seeking out the content
00:09:56.160 is that stuff going to be served up to you right right yeah exactly and so that's elon musk's
00:10:02.120 accusation that they intentionally this report is based on accounts that were intentionally created
00:10:07.140 to rig the algorithm to deliver these results and so it might not be that the report is wrong you
00:10:13.740 know i'm sure they were able to create accounts that this content was served up on and then they
00:10:18.420 go and present it to microsoft and apple and whomever else and you know they're very media savvy
00:10:23.740 media matters to your point has been doing this for years they absolutely know the pressure points of
00:10:28.480 corporate advertisers uh but you know whether this is legitimate research i think is highly dubious
00:10:33.880 and i look forward to elon musk uncovering uh what media matters was up to here because i think the
00:10:39.740 more transparency there is in this advocacy that's allowed to be laundered into the presses
00:10:43.600 some sort of like neutral uh academic research is absurd so this is what um an executive at x
00:10:51.360 previously told fox business eliana about the way they they do advertising um you know the way they
00:10:59.160 i guess ferret out the ads purchased by advertisers on twitter ads follow people on x they follow the
00:11:08.040 people so they figure out again what you like and then they'll come they'll pop up on your feed in
00:11:14.440 this case the media matters research that was going to actively look for this content actively look for
00:11:20.160 this content that's how user targeting works as it relates to the platform itself control settings are
00:11:25.640 in place for every user and every brand so that you can try to minimize this kind of content if you
00:11:30.860 want to the executive claim groups like media matters aggressively search for posts on x and then go to
00:11:36.440 the accounts and if they see an ad they keep hitting refresh to capture as many brands as possible so
00:11:44.800 you can make it look like oh gee you know they just link these anti-semitic posts with ibm or whatever
00:11:50.880 the the brand is all over twitter you know so i'm just innocently scrolling and boom something terrible
00:11:56.460 about jews and ibm sponsored it whereas in fact the only way you're going to get this is basically if you did
00:12:02.000 what media matters did right this reminds me a little bit and we've had this we've had this happen a few
00:12:09.640 times you know if you run a publication people email you about the ads that appear on your site and if you
00:12:15.520 have a google um a google ad function the ads that are served to a user are based on their google
00:12:21.940 searches and so you know you'll get emails from people who say you're advertising pornographic
00:12:28.240 images or a people's pump or this or that and you kind of want to reply and say that's because you're
00:12:35.660 google searching you know the other like these things are uh they are of course based on um your own
00:12:43.560 and and this isn't the exact parallel but it is sort of like that it is of course based on what you're
00:12:48.740 generating back to yourself it's a mirror image type of thing but i have to say like i right now i do
00:12:54.060 think this is a little bit of a red herring um because for me this is like sort of like elon musk
00:13:03.420 media matters a little bit like the iran iraq war and i'm probably the odd man out in this conversation
00:13:08.940 of the other ej and mk um i i do think elon musk himself and this is separate and apart from the ads
00:13:19.340 that um twitter is serving up to users has been pushing uh anti-semitic tropes through his account
00:13:26.620 on twitter uh he just did it a few days ago um and at this time in this country and i think he is
00:13:33.560 rightfully taking heed for this he denies this um but you know for those of us who are jewish like
00:13:40.100 we can we know what this stuff means we can see it and so when i look at this i just see like it's hard
00:13:46.680 for me to take a side in this like i don't feel sorry for him i don't like media matters and uh and
00:13:52.440 you know i i don't know what to say here but it is it is concerning to me that the wealthiest man in
00:14:00.180 the world with so much power who owns an entire social media platform is using it um in such an
00:14:07.300 irresponsible manner and i'm talking about his own personal account not his tweets okay his post yeah
00:14:13.740 i guess let's talk about that let's let's talk about that because i i confess i have not been
00:14:18.320 following you know elon's postings bit by bit but the one that he was really getting hit for
00:14:23.660 i saw why it was controversial and then i understood his clarification so you tell me if it
00:14:29.580 goes beyond this the one that's being blown up right now because it hit on the same day as the
00:14:33.980 media matters hippies was some account i don't know tweeted out um okay they they said they were
00:14:45.380 this is my take on it i believe that this person was trying to say they had no empathy for liberal jews
00:14:55.260 who didn't fight the woke battles and didn't care about the open border until now he was kind of
00:15:01.240 like i think that's my intro he's got kind of saying you know what spare me your tears because
00:15:06.480 you you help create the mess we have in america and i really don't feel that sorry for you now that
00:15:11.500 you're saying oh my god the college students and all this stuff but that's my own take i'll read you
00:15:16.600 what he wrote he said jewish communities this is not elon this is somebody that elon agreed with
00:15:20.720 jewish jewish communities have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites
00:15:28.540 that they claim to want people to stop using against them i'm deeply disinterested in giving
00:15:34.460 the tiniest shit now about western jewish populations coming to the disturbing realization
00:15:40.260 that those hordes of minorities that support flooding their country don't exactly like them too much
00:15:45.640 you want the truth said to your face there it is now that's not a good tweet no one's going to defend
00:15:52.100 the way this was written or said i get your i get your point eliana but i'm i'm trying to read this
00:15:59.500 you know as generously as i can because because i think i'm trying to look at what elon saw and elon
00:16:06.400 replied you have said the actual truth and then he clarified that he was referring to the anti-defamation
00:16:13.620 league elon was the adl saying that they unjustly attacked the majority of the west despite the
00:16:18.620 majority of the west supporting the jewish people in israel it's not right it needs to stop and he
00:16:24.540 so elon's clarification basically to my point like yes there's this group that's says it's pro-jewish but
00:16:30.660 it it's constantly criticizing whites that's not wrong it's constantly advocating advocating for
00:16:37.060 things like open borders so it could be a cya right is that your feeling that's he's covering
00:16:43.660 his ass there and he meant it more broadly like the jews are in control and they're they hate white
00:16:48.760 people or you know it could be legit what do you think uh my personal view is that all i can see in
00:16:57.500 front of me is the tweet that you read and his response which is you have said the actual truth
00:17:04.120 and it is totally unacceptable and the the washington free beacon has editorialized
00:17:11.180 against the tactics of the anti-defamation league um i share his criticisms of them that said i can say
00:17:21.040 easily we of course share their goal we seek the same things we disagree with them on what is the best
00:17:28.160 way to get there um i think it is appalling at this time in history to see a tweet like that to
00:17:35.340 say you have spoken truth uh to somebody who says i am deeply disinterested in giving the tiny shit now
00:17:42.540 about western jewish populations uh coming to the disturbing realization um you know that people don't
00:17:50.520 like them too much um it's it's appalling and you know with great power comes great responsibility
00:17:56.940 think and be careful with what you say hmm it's he's but the guy's not saying i'm deeply disinterested
00:18:06.520 in like jews pain or what happened to them in israel he's saying deeply disinterested in giving the
00:18:12.020 tiniest shit now about western western jewish populations so i think he's referring to us and
00:18:16.300 those in europe coming to the disturbing realization that the hordes of minorities flooding into their
00:18:22.680 country don't like them i mean to me this sounds like a an america first type who really cares about
00:18:28.660 the border being really inarticulate about his frustrations over not being supported this is kind
00:18:35.160 of how tucker got in trouble last week um right like he's an america first well i i'll let him describe
00:18:42.680 who he is but he's he supports much of the trump agenda and he definitely is very very very anti-open
00:18:48.600 borders and it's true that some jewish people have been on the woke side of these issues and this is
00:18:56.780 why trump has been out there like why don't they vote for me why don't they vote on their own but you
00:19:00.800 know ben shapiro was pointing out aliana to to do a sweeping representation of jews is not the way
00:19:08.940 that he points out most most orthodox communities like his and like the folks i lived within new york in
00:19:15.720 my building um they're they're much more conservative they they're not right so like they
00:19:21.700 they get lumped into this sort of you know they're part of the western jewish population
00:19:27.480 and so it's too sweeping anything that's too sweeping gets you in trouble as whatever you know
00:19:34.000 it could be in in this case anti-semitic
00:19:36.560 i think that's exactly right um he says jewish communities have been pushing dialectical hatred
00:19:44.900 um you just can't say stuff like that um you can't you can't paint with that broad of a brush
00:19:51.460 if he wants to say left-wing jews fine um but and and for elon musk to pick this tweet to tee off of
00:20:01.460 is not right uh okay fair fair enough now here's here's where the story gets interesting really
00:20:08.320 interesting though emily cue the new york times the la times um virtually every publication msnbc
00:20:18.880 msnbc which as far as i know still still employs medi hassan among others who's like the chief
00:20:26.020 hamas defender on television they're outraged at the anti-semitism here uh by allegedly by elon
00:20:35.320 by x they they're getting the vapors they need the vapors that they're they're so horrified at
00:20:41.760 this blatant display of anti-semitism spare me it's another interesting part of the story as you
00:20:49.200 mentioned because jonathan greenblatt of the adl the anti-defamation league also thanked elon musk i
00:20:55.060 think it was on friday because elon musk uh banned from the river to the sea or said that this was uh
00:21:01.200 it's part of twitter's prohibited speech policy to say from the river to the sea or to even talk
00:21:05.900 about decolonization and jonathan greenblatt then reached out to elon musk and said thank you for
00:21:10.680 taking this much needed step so elon i think eliana said something you think before you tweet i think
00:21:16.740 that's one of the more i guess interesting things about his leadership not just of x but also of
00:21:21.620 space x you know you've got billions of government dollars on the line tesla he's got these massive
00:21:26.340 geopolitical relationships just last week elon musk was with xin ping in san francisco i mean this
00:21:32.980 guy has a lot of balls up in the air and he just tweets through all of it he's just posting through
00:21:39.320 the whole thing and i think sometimes that's where it's like well what is x actually doing what is x
00:21:45.520 he was a free speech absolutist but then he comes down on the side of you know not even like this is
00:21:50.620 kind of that question of whether you should be able to talk about decolonization i think sometimes
00:21:54.420 when people do it there's an imminent threat of violence same thing with from the river to the sea
00:21:58.280 elon musk will go to the mat for free speech absolutism over and over again but then as he's
00:22:04.400 just sort of posting through the day he'll say well nope no deal no talk of decolonization at all
00:22:08.960 no use of from the river to the sea which again i think often is used in that context of an imminent
00:22:14.420 threat uh sometimes it's sort of the wink wink you know what i mean ethnic cleansing um but he's just
00:22:19.680 saying period none of it uh and and the media reacts uh in the the least nuanced way possible
00:22:27.780 where they just take these pre-packaged narratives that are served up on a silver platter to them by
00:22:34.080 media matters and you know they they go right to their fainting couches uh and can't even talk a little
00:22:40.600 bit about where this gets more complicated where elon musk gets more complicated what he might have meant
00:22:45.880 and i think also per the conversation you were just having with eliana my guess is that he had
00:22:50.680 in mind some of those powerful scenes from london from new york city recently uh where you just have
00:22:58.140 rank anti-semitism you just have rank anti-westernism uh anti-americanism uh people pulling down american
00:23:06.780 flags replacing them with palestinian flags i i imagine that's what he had in mind not trying to
00:23:12.180 you know put words in his mouth or cover for him um but i mean the media isn't talking about any of
00:23:19.220 that and yeah that that is frustrating that does bring out that side uh in some people well and not
00:23:26.260 only that but you've got eliana media matters the the guy who runs it the chairman and president this
00:23:33.520 guy angelo carusone or carusone i don't know i don't know how to pronounce it i see him pop up every
00:23:39.020 once in a while in the new york times or on cnn where they're trying to pretend that he's some
00:23:43.420 objective media analyst instead of a partisan hack who gets paid to tear down conservatives that's what
00:23:51.840 you get paid for angelo you're disgusting okay um you look at just a quick like search of how he spent
00:24:00.000 the past 10 years and this is just i mean i have my own independent memories of media matters but
00:24:05.380 um worked as an organizer uh for stop beck.com trying to get glenn beck canceled led a pressure
00:24:14.220 campaign against rush limbaugh this is before media matters uh trying to get him canceled in
00:24:19.600 october 20 2012 while with media matters began organizing for the dump trump effort a pressure
00:24:26.360 campaign formed to convince macy's to stop its business partnership with trump due to his role in
00:24:30.640 the so-called birtherism controversy surrounding president obama i mean we could keep going then
00:24:36.200 he's got his own controversial comments where he's referred to um trannies japs and jewry okay so
00:24:46.260 that's he says he can say that term jewry because he had a jewish boyfriend i think it's one of those
00:24:52.480 things sir where unless you're jewish you're not allowed to okay sorry uh it's just not how it works
00:24:58.220 go consult the rappers they'll explain to you the rules of these games um in any event it goes on
00:25:04.600 and on and he has been accused of anti-semitism in the past so on so like for this guy like they'll
00:25:11.660 just print him you know that these same publications that are now calling elon and twitter anti-semitic
00:25:16.680 they'll use him as an expert they'll ignore what they themselves have done over the past five weeks
00:25:21.740 and the whole story will shift to these right-wing extremists who hate jewish people
00:25:28.220 and by the way that's what makes corporations take this seriously it's not just because some
00:25:32.720 crank leftist activist group is throwing out so-called research it's because the media
00:25:37.080 will quote him as like some neutral objective observer a media expert and they will do the same
00:25:42.660 thing to these studies so-called studies and reports and research that they put out so it's one
00:25:47.820 thing to have a crank leftist activist group do that it's an entirely different thing to have the
00:25:53.380 media treated as though it's not advocacy and activism and entirely ideological and partisan
00:25:58.480 that's the thing so i mean eliana it's amazing to watch the new york times hit elon musk and twitter
00:26:04.300 for their alleged support for you know anti-semitism or nazism they just hired a nazi they just hired
00:26:13.460 a guy who specifically said he loves hitler but that they'll get totally away with that eliana i don't
00:26:23.020 remember the media matters hit piece on the new york times look how great you are hitler that's what
00:26:31.220 the new york times his latest hire said okay i'm wait angelo hello i'm waiting for your hit piece on
00:26:39.540 the new york times eliana i think we're going to be waiting a long time oh yeah and look what um what
00:26:45.560 none of these people are going to say is they are all on the same team um the the mainstream media and
00:26:51.180 media matters um there's not much distinction between them and what makes media matters effective
00:26:57.840 is that what the business that they are really in is the ginning up of public pressure campaigns
00:27:05.140 through the use of um media that through the use of news stories and media to ratchet up um to ratchet
00:27:15.120 up public attention and public pressure on um on corporations um to exact a financial political
00:27:24.920 reputational cost uh to achieve their desired political outcomes and so what we're seeing with elon musk
00:27:32.420 and x is create news stories um to uh and negative narratives against these corporations that
00:27:40.800 advertise with the goal of forcing them to pull their advertising from x with the ultimate goal of
00:27:47.360 exacting um of hurting the bottom line of x and hurting elon musk uh it was the same story with fox news but
00:27:54.560 um they're um they're reading you know they're running the same playbook with every single one of these
00:27:59.020 and they do it quite effectively because it is actually not that hard to do if you have a um a
00:28:05.800 very friendly relationship uh with the mainstream media and so far we've had um apple bravo ibm oracle
00:28:14.980 and xfinity allegedly go up to pro-nazi content that's what media matters reported and several of those
00:28:23.560 have pulled their ads because media matters went to them and said why are you supporting nazis why are you
00:28:28.040 supporting anti-semites your your contents all over uh you know these posts on x and so many of them
00:28:34.280 have now pulled by the way libs of tiktok reports one from apple and one from disney two ads currently
00:28:42.980 on tiktok a different platform being supported okay by apple and disney both over there supporting tiktok
00:28:50.740 right after days ago they had a viral trend praising osama bin laden so if you praise a guy who killed
00:28:58.940 3 000 innocent americans it's fine apple is going to continue advertising with you but if you uh go over
00:29:08.980 on x and generate an anti-semitic account that then gets advertised because of the algorithm that's it
00:29:16.480 you got it we're out we're taking the high ground i mean it's just so transparent emily they want to
00:29:23.280 kill x they want to kill it because elon runs it and they can't stand conservatives and will there
00:29:31.120 ever be a story on the corporate hypocrisy i mean that is a good news story on how these decisions are
00:29:37.320 made in corporations and the hypocrisy of continuing advertising on one platform while pulling it from
00:29:42.580 another because yeah and i mean those corporations don't care about medi hassan because there's no
00:29:49.000 leftist crank group that's able to masquerade itself as some neutral observer because again the media
00:29:54.300 won't let them uh to right to police right wing crank group right right right yes yeah to police speech
00:29:59.860 from the other direction and i think this is why elon musk has been trying really hard to build up a
00:30:03.480 subscriber user base on twitter which is smart because in this environment uh it's why for instance you
00:30:09.780 have so many great writers that are at substack now um because companies get spooked by stupid
00:30:16.180 quote-unquote research by groups like media matters because a part of it is that you have executives in
00:30:21.860 c-suite c-suites who do get spooked by this but the other part of it is that these news organizations
00:30:26.480 and their business executives are now staffed by people who are ideologically uh fellow travelers
00:30:33.300 with the cranks that media matters the ideological cranks that media matters and so on the one hand some
00:30:38.720 people are just that you know that they buy it they're on the same page and the other people are
00:30:42.340 terrified of these stupid advertising controversies because media matters then goes to nbc and nbc
00:30:48.580 reports that anti-semitic content is being posted next to apple content and apple ads and apple ads
00:30:53.800 are boosting anti-semitism on x and so it's this vicious vicious vicious cycle that repeats itself over
00:30:59.520 and over again and one of the only ways to get around it is to have a subscriber base and that's why for
00:31:04.200 example so many people have taken their work to substack it's why elon musk is trying to create
00:31:08.360 twitter subscribers that get you know an ad free experience and are subscribing to individual users
00:31:13.240 so that it makes advertising dollars less powerful and makes groups like media matters less powerful
00:31:18.380 i don't know that that has worked so well for him so far because twitter is already a pretty small
00:31:22.500 slice of the population daily users compared to facebook and instagram and tiktok
00:31:26.540 but you can understand why he's working really hard to make that model successful because it gives way
00:31:33.440 less power to the corporate press and to their little uh fellow travelers at media matters
00:31:39.000 twitter must succeed elon musk must succeed with x it's important to the future of the country i think
00:31:48.980 about one of the issues near and dear to my heart as you both know and that's what's happening with
00:31:53.780 children who have some gender confusion because it's being pushed on them by a society that's forgotten
00:31:59.420 its core values and you weren't even allowed to talk about this prior to elon taking over x you
00:32:05.960 couldn't post a tweet saying a man cannot become a woman period there's only one thing that's a woman
00:32:11.360 she's born a woman she's a woman her whole life you couldn't say things like that thanks to elon now you
00:32:18.660 can and and yes allowing free speech allows a lot of things like look i am somebody who is these things
00:32:26.620 that you know these groups these students for justice in palestine on college campuses if they're
00:32:31.660 not actively threatening jewish students i don't i don't think they should be pulled i i don't like
00:32:36.260 what they're saying at all i don't support these groups at all but i kind of like the fact that they're
00:32:40.860 outing themselves and their crazy ass views so we know who they are i'm totally pro not hiring them
00:32:45.660 but i'm not pro shutting down the speech that this is america you can say hateful things that's you
00:32:53.860 know that's who we are if it crosses over into threatening on a college campus you may get
00:32:57.960 yourself in trouble but on twitter on you know in the public forum you're allowed to say things
00:33:04.160 that are considered vile and i think it's actually a bonus because that now we know who you are just
00:33:10.460 this week uh we this weekend it was i found out about this doctor a resident at the university of
00:33:17.840 tennessee in their medical program she's a resident and she's posting all over online about
00:33:24.080 basically her jew hatred okay so and somebody was saying here i'm actually just gonna pull it up so
00:33:31.380 you can hear it because it's it's dark and i don't want this person not to be able to say these things
00:33:40.740 i absolutely want her to say these things so then i can say what i want to say her name is dr amina
00:33:46.040 al al kaswani she's at uh university tennessee health care services as a dermatology resident
00:33:52.680 this is what she posted i have an easier solution somebody said palestine will be free from hamas
00:33:59.080 she said i have an easier solution without israel there would be no hamas let's get to the root of
00:34:05.180 the problem the problem is just get rid of israel then she said your zionist folks are swimming in
00:34:12.500 blood money and i doubt they would want to do honest people work like we do this person i mean
00:34:19.160 aliana you you mentioned you're jewish imagine walking into not knowing that this dermatologist
00:34:26.140 feels the way she does about jewish people and you sit in her office and she's
00:34:31.360 to having to screen you for skin cancer your life is literally potentially in her hands
00:34:37.140 and then you find out this is how she views jewish people i mean it's you have a right to know you
00:34:43.360 should know if we shut down the speech time and time again we're not going to know and then i feel
00:34:48.940 like we're worse off
00:34:49.800 i'm with you megan i want to know um what people's views are and i think employers ought to be able to
00:35:01.100 make informed decisions about who they hire and who they don't hire and all of this should be done um
00:35:07.140 with with eyes wide open and i i think one of the benefits of this is that it it is having a
00:35:16.920 salutary pushback against the infantilization of college students and even of high school students
00:35:23.580 that we've seen over the past two three decades where we've treated adults um these kids on college
00:35:30.500 campuses um 18 years of age and higher they are adults they can smoke cigarettes they can serve in the
00:35:36.280 military they can drink alcohol um starting at the age of 21 and yet we treat them as though um their
00:35:44.300 informed voluntary speech should have no reprisals on things they uh do the rest of their life they are
00:35:52.580 perfectly free to say what they would like that doesn't mean that there are no consequences for their
00:35:57.540 speech especially on this issue it's it's not like you know some benign left right thing
00:36:05.140 many of these students not all but many of these students are openly blaming the murder of children
00:36:13.160 on the children themselves you asked for it is basically what they're saying it's all israel's
00:36:20.540 fault you brought it upon yourselves and have shown zero empathy for tortured murdered terrorized
00:36:29.780 jewish civilians that says a lot maybe it doesn't to somebody else to me it says a lot and not only do
00:36:36.840 would i never hire such a person i would never go to a doctor who felt like that i even as a catholic
00:36:42.240 i don't want anybody who feels this way anywhere near me it's disgusting so in any event uh there's a
00:36:49.000 there's a sort of a distinction here between allowing the speech and recoiling and shutting it down
00:36:56.680 altogether the latter of which is really un-american unless the speech is crossed over into open
00:37:02.300 threats that make someone you know incapable of actually being safe not not just my truth but like
00:37:10.000 objectively unsafe conditions all right we'll take a quick break we'll come back there's so much more
00:37:15.200 to get to you guys those polls for biden oh my god what a birthday present i mean for trump
00:37:20.180 all right ladies uh there are a few new polls out and oh my goodness they are not good for our now
00:37:31.300 81 year old president biden's 81 can we just i mean how is this man going to make it through five
00:37:38.780 more years of being president right one and then if he wins re-election another four he he's 81 think
00:37:46.660 about can you imagine an 86 year old joe biden just the other day we played a clip of him just three
00:37:52.580 years ago when he was running and he seemed so much more spry than he does today 81 emily i just
00:38:01.080 i don't mean to sound nasty it's not coming from a nasty place it's coming from a just an observational
00:38:07.360 observational place i don't think he can do it no i mean i don't think he can do it either and in fact
00:38:13.540 i actually thought you know when he was running for president in 2020 he was already a stark contrast
00:38:18.400 from when he left the vice presidency in early 2016 uh there was a huge huge difference between 2016
00:38:25.260 joe biden and then 2019 2020 joe biden and since then it has gotten progressively worse and i think
00:38:31.620 actually that's where you see that uh sort of become even a bigger campaign issue for him because
00:38:38.020 people have sort of watched joe biden age rapidly before their eyes so it's one thing to come you
00:38:43.820 know from 2016 and then come back in 2020 and be old but when it's happening in front of the public
00:38:48.700 i i think people on the one hand you know it shows a lack of uh capacity to handle the daily duties
00:38:55.340 it's also really hard to watch i feel like i'm speaking for a lot of people like it's very
00:39:00.520 uncomfortable and and painful it's embarrassing for the united states but also just on a personal
00:39:05.500 like person to person level watching him struggle it feels awful you feel badly for the guy to a
00:39:12.000 certain extent and then you realize no he's he's installed himself in this position of power uh
00:39:17.300 because he thinks he should have it even though he clearly shouldn't because just on a basic
00:39:21.580 competency level he can't handle the job uh but yeah i mean there's there's 81 for some people is
00:39:27.360 different than 81 is for other people and and joe biden at the age of 81 is in incredibly rough shape
00:39:33.480 and the entire country can see that and that's why even democrats uh a majority of democrats even
00:39:38.960 a majority of democrats wish they had another option alan dershowitz is 85 just for the record
00:39:44.120 if you're starting to feel like oh man i don't want to you know i don't want this to happen to me
00:39:48.300 alan dershowitz is 85 he's got the sharpest mind of anybody i know it's incredible it's crazy so you
00:39:55.020 can keep it together and stay sharp well into your 80s and beyond it's just not happening in the case of
00:40:00.720 joe biden and we can tell um it reminds me of a joke that uh some one of the comedians told about
00:40:06.860 john mccain remember he ran as a maverick and they were saying john mccain was too old john mccain was
00:40:13.340 too old and the comedian was saying he really is a maverick they say he's too old and what does he do
00:40:19.340 he keeps aging that's joe biden today just as a middle finger to everybody he turns 81 how you like
00:40:29.560 me now not so much is the answer eliana big new nbc poll 1000 registered voters not as good as likely
00:40:37.220 gotta be honest but okay tells us something presidential approval rating now at 40 a drop of
00:40:44.460 six points from last january disapproval 57 uh that went up seven points from last january steve kornacki
00:40:53.680 says that is the lowest president biden has ever measured in our poll in terms of job approval look
00:40:59.960 at the sea change from the start of the year he went on democrats coming off a strong start following
00:41:05.680 the 2022 midterms the advantage has eroded his approval among independents 30 63 of independents
00:41:16.720 disapprove and one in five more than one in five of democrats disapprove of the job he's doing
00:41:24.040 kornacki adds eliana you need much more unified support in your own party if you are going to have
00:41:29.080 a successful re-election campaign so it's just non-stop right every day we get a new one of these
00:41:36.340 and they they're all going in the same direction polls for him are apocalyptically bad and i think
00:41:47.440 what all of us are trying to reconcile is that from the 22 2022 election on um several special elections
00:41:57.380 democrats have performed well and so either democrats uh perform well when biden is not on the ballot
00:42:05.660 um and that's the secret or the polls are wrong um it's it's tough to figure quite what's happening
00:42:17.000 with democrats over performance from uh um from what biden is registering in the poll in the polls um
00:42:24.760 and it could be that the disapproval is specifically linked to biden and his age and is not trickling
00:42:31.400 down to other democrats i think that's one possibility here the other part and and the other question is
00:42:37.680 um biden you know democrats disapprove of him within his party and i think the other open question here
00:42:43.340 is if donald trump is a republican nominee uh you know biden's not running in a vacuum generic
00:42:48.060 republican performs really really well but obviously he's going to be running against an actual republican
00:42:52.980 candidate um donald trump is not uncontroversial in the republican party and the question will be
00:42:58.320 how is that going to play out uh right now i think we can say pretty confident confidently um donald trump
00:43:04.820 is winning this election against joe biden he is uh he he is performing pretty well uh in the polls as
00:43:12.200 the republican nominee and i think a lot of the reason for that is that he hasn't been out front and
00:43:16.660 center um he's tied up by these court battles it's not the basement campaign but it's the courtroom
00:43:21.500 campaign that's actually working for him um watching joe biden shuffling around like a nursing home
00:43:27.860 patient uh is painful and is not uh is not helpful to him he actually can't do this job you can see
00:43:34.840 and i think you know to what emily was saying before it is on what is uncomfortable for me is to
00:43:39.920 watch him shuffling around and scheduled from like 10 a.m to 4 p.m there have been numerous stories
00:43:45.120 written about that and then to try to square that with the white house's insistence that this is the
00:43:49.680 most energetic guy they've ever seen and oh my gosh his aides can't keep up with them uh it reminds
00:43:54.340 me of when thad cochran the late mississippi senator was running um for re-election in 2014 or 2015 at
00:44:01.360 the age of like 94 and and they all said that about him too um it's just not believable and uh and
00:44:07.440 people don't believe it feinstein they did the same thing with them all you can think is what's
00:44:12.080 wrong with those aides what happened to the what's who what aides are these go ahead emily
00:44:16.200 no i was saying they did the same thing with diane feinstein to aliana's point every time it happens
00:44:20.740 uh you know and our our friends over at pravda just run with it sometimes sometimes they don't because
00:44:26.100 it's so obvious they can't ignore it but sometimes we're like this is just you know i've read axios
00:44:30.620 reporting that takes you know it's it's seriously when these aides are telling them we just cannot
00:44:34.820 keep up with this president he's uh he's so spry and mentally you know he's he's 20 years old it's
00:44:41.260 just laughable and you know the american public doesn't buy it and i actually think that's an
00:44:44.540 interesting element here as people have tried to figure out before you complete your thought
00:44:48.360 sure dan
00:44:49.760 it's like being on howard stern
00:44:54.500 uh it's um you know they they have this the polling that shows the new york times sienna poll
00:45:01.680 that went super viral a couple weeks ago showing black support for joe biden dipping in a way that
00:45:06.260 democrats can't wrap their head around you know why would it happen between you know 2020 which by
00:45:11.020 the way was in the middle of the pandemic and now well i really think a lot of it comes down to
00:45:15.000 independent media sort of starting to bypass the gatekeepers and i was just talking to a pollster
00:45:19.380 on breaking points this morning who was in georgia uh recently talking to people who are quote double
00:45:24.880 disapprovers you know they don't like trump they don't like biden and they're swinging for trump
00:45:29.440 and one reason he said is that you know those viral clips for joe biden of him falling down whatever
00:45:34.820 else it is the media has no control over those anymore there's no gatekeepers you're seeing them
00:45:40.240 go viral on tiktok on instagram and that is even more damaging for joe biden in this environment where
00:45:47.040 there aren't gatekeepers you know who aren't playing that 24 7 on a loop you know axelrod weighed in
00:45:54.020 again axelrod is the one who kind of said he's going to have to make the decision about whether he
00:45:58.920 steps down it was a very clear message please step down for the good of the party and the country and
00:46:04.860 then biden uh allegedly called him a prick and maureen dowd wrote a column on sunday saying
00:46:13.840 david axelrod he's not a prick and axelrod said i don't care what he calls me it's fine i don't i
00:46:20.580 don't care if they think i'm a prick that's fine he wrote i hope they don't think the polls are wrong
00:46:25.600 though because they're not and he went on i think biden has a 50 50 shot here but no better than
00:46:30.800 that maybe worse maybe a little worse he thinks he can cheat nature here and it's really risky
00:46:36.640 they've got a real problem if they are counting on trump to win it for them i remember hillary doing
00:46:42.740 that too and eliana the thing is uh trump beat hillary trump never pulled this well against hillary
00:46:52.380 now in poll after poll and we just got a new one trump's beating biden i don't think he ever was
00:46:58.580 beating hillary in one poll prior to the day he actually beat hillary at the only poll that matters
00:47:03.300 trump has never pulled this well and biden has never pulled this poorly it's a dangerous combination
00:47:09.560 for democrats and trump doesn't have the trump doesn't have the nomination yet but you have to
00:47:15.500 keep in mind he's who democrats want to run against every other republican candidate sans vivek ramaswamy
00:47:23.880 vivek ramaswamy i don't want to pull a donna brazil here i know we'll get to that um but polling better
00:47:30.520 against joe biden nikki haley in many polls is leading him by seven to ten points uh he's the one
00:47:36.520 they want to face up again against and biden is polling quite poorly against him right now
00:47:41.700 i mean the numbers are just you know you you drill down on these and there's just no good news in this
00:47:47.840 for joe biden in fact every every page is dreadful um with young voters in particular they can't stand
00:47:54.180 them i mean the young voters do not want joe biden he's got i think it's a minus 70 um approval rating
00:48:01.500 it's something absolutely dreadful i'll pull it up but he's got significant work to do and uh
00:48:07.120 yeah uh one other thought i had is axelrod has been really out in front of this just crapping
00:48:14.320 on biden uh constantly on twitter and in television interviews uh one question i've had is what's obama
00:48:20.800 gonna do and say he came out um in a long medium post um and was further to the left on israel than
00:48:29.260 biden um he felt the need to come out and contradict the president on that um is he gonna come out and
00:48:36.300 call on biden to step aside i think that's one question hanging in the air is he gonna come out
00:48:41.480 and campaign with the president where's he gonna land because he remains the most powerful and
00:48:46.440 influential voice in the democratic party and i think uh all eyes are are gonna be on him at least
00:48:52.800 in the press and in elite political circles um where is he it's a good point why why has he been so
00:49:00.020 quiet i mean axelrod's probably the closest thing we have right to somebody who knows or who's
00:49:05.460 effectively a mouthpiece for president obama he hasn't said anything this is his guy um but i think
00:49:12.740 in the end the obamas will come home in the end they'll get out there they will rally in particular
00:49:17.880 the back the black vote for joe biden because biden i mean obama does not want to see trump return to
00:49:24.460 that office i think he's probably right now hedging hoping somebody else will replace joe biden
00:49:29.800 he can get behind that person maybe the person's name is michelle stand by uh and we'll talk more
00:49:36.480 one second we're going to take a quick break and then we'll be back with more of the megan kelly show
00:49:39.840 live on siriusxm triumph channel 111 every weekday at noon east don't forget to go to youtube.com
00:49:45.260 slash megan kelly to subscribe to our youtube channel we'll be right back
00:49:48.880 so we mentioned it at the top of our last hour but um eliana and yours truly and elizabeth vargas
00:49:58.920 of news nation are going to be the next three moderators at the next gop primary debate it
00:50:05.080 happens on 12 6 remember that 12 6 12 6 12 6 that's what i keep telling my kids just remember 12 6
00:50:10.360 uh at 8 p.m over on news nation and you can find news nation i always screw this up i think it's
00:50:16.700 find nn.com i think it's find nn.com but anyway look it up between now and your uh and debate night
00:50:23.300 so you can watch it there and see what happens because in this race anything's possible my god
00:50:28.740 anything's possible i mean given those polls we just discussed i don't exactly know why the gop
00:50:34.700 would trade in trump right because like he's doing very well against joe biden but as you point out
00:50:40.740 eliana some of the other candidates are polling at least even better against joe biden um so
00:50:46.660 the gop has yet to vote it has time to make up its mind now there were some developments in this
00:50:52.120 primary race including in new hampshire over the past few weeks what we have seen is desantis in a
00:50:58.440 stall vivek down and nikki haley up and i think her plan is to do as well as she can in iowa i don't
00:51:09.600 think she has any delusions about winning iowa trump is more than likely to win iowa but desantis has
00:51:15.980 all of his eggs in the iowa basket he's hoping to pull off an upset she i think would love to come
00:51:21.000 in second or third there then they go to new hampshire and i think she's hoping to win new
00:51:26.300 hampshire and then come south carolina that's her home state her home state and i think she's hoping
00:51:31.760 to sort of parlay whatever victory she's had into a win there now the odds are if you're betting on
00:51:37.040 horses you would bet trump's going to win all three of these by a landslide according to the polls
00:51:42.020 i mean he's way ahead the latest new hampshire poll which is the state she's hoping to win
00:51:46.880 he's at 46 she's at 18 she doesn't even have half what he has because sometimes you kind of
00:51:53.620 realize you're talking about fairyland you know what i mean like she's she's moving up she's moving
00:52:00.040 into the number one position wait no she's not no she's moving into the number two position behind
00:52:05.500 trump in any event the latest poll that i just referenced is out of the state of new hampshire
00:52:10.480 washington post monmouth uh and trump's at 46 haley's at 18 christy's hanging in there at 11
00:52:18.800 i don't know why does it does christy have any momentum in any other state i mean okay he's no
00:52:25.900 one can tell him what to do ramaswamy's down it's at eight and eliana desantis is at seven
00:52:33.520 he's the lowest of all of them in new hampshire he's below ramaswamy um so it really does make
00:52:42.740 you want because desantis is not going to win south carolina from the looks of it so at this
00:52:47.960 point you have to ask yourself what's his path
00:52:49.720 exactly when we look at polls we tend not to look at them in isolation but we look at trends in
00:52:57.800 several polls and from doing that i think we can say the trend for desantis is not what he wants to
00:53:04.580 see he uh started off really at a high point um when he got when he jumped into this race and he's
00:53:10.860 trended downward obviously not what you want to see uh vivek ramaswamy the same thing he had a moment
00:53:16.640 after that first debate and he's trended downward since then um again not what you want to see nikki
00:53:22.960 haley the opposite she's gained traction she's had strong performances in the debates she's obviously
00:53:28.220 does well in that format she's trended upwards um i think desantis he has to win iowa he's put all of
00:53:35.000 his eggs in that basket nikki haley if she's going to get traction uh electorally in this race she's got
00:53:40.880 to win new hampshire and that would really happen from chris christie dropping out and his voters going
00:53:46.240 to haley let me just interrupt do you mean win beat trump win or do you mean win the undercard
00:53:53.320 no i think she's got to win i think she has to win new hampshire and then move and win south
00:53:58.680 carolina to win the race you have to win you can't come in second um yeah you've got to win new
00:54:06.800 hampshire um she's got first or last uh look it's just my view i obviously uh i'm not not an expert
00:54:13.340 in this stuff but i think she has to win new hampshire and she's got to win in south carolina
00:54:17.560 or she's got to come really really close to him uh one or two points um in new hampshire and win
00:54:23.620 south carolina um but she's got to win one of these early states um period it's join nn.com
00:54:32.560 that's what i always screwed up whether it's find nn.com or join nn.com join nn.com just in case
00:54:39.320 you want to watch it live that's what you should do the debate um what do you think emily because
00:54:45.060 he's gotten some big new donors uh this is in axios he raised two million dollars for his 2024 run in
00:54:52.040 48 hours this past week um this after many of his donors had already maxed out so these are new donors
00:55:00.980 to me this feels like a pr spin dropped by his people to a compliant axios looking to generate any
00:55:07.840 kind of good news for him now he did get the endorsement of the iowa governor kim reynolds
00:55:13.160 that's big and he does need to win iowa win-win as eliana says and at the same time he got that
00:55:19.480 uh donald trump is attacking kim reynolds which i don't you know look what people say who follow
00:55:27.420 politics closely in iowa is this stuff matters kim reynolds matters she's beloved there and that it's
00:55:34.140 not a good idea to attack her to mr trump he's now saying kim reynolds of iowa has gone from a
00:55:40.520 popular governor to the most unpopular governor in the u.s not an easy feat her endorsement of ronda
00:55:45.860 sanctimonious who was 50 points down to me in the polls has given him exactly zero bounce he's a
00:55:51.460 wounded bird falling violently from the sky he's big into the bird references he calls nikki haley bird
00:55:56.900 brain one de santis is a wounded bird falling violently from the sky it's poetic really romantic
00:56:04.400 we moved on i'd rather be a bird than a dog or a pig or a fat slob
00:56:09.640 um so you tell me emily whether all his attack on kim reynolds and her endorsement of de santis
00:56:18.860 and this new inflection of cash does it have any chance of moving the needle in iowa
00:56:24.700 absolutely not i mean talking about these things that would normally have great consequence in iowa
00:56:32.380 in any race that donald trump is not in um i i get it i mean it's it's i was super interesting
00:56:38.500 exactly because of things like that because you know that governor not that governor endorsement
00:56:42.260 is super important but uh there is no path for anybody right now realistically but donald trump
00:56:49.820 because remember the de santis campaign is working with its top consultant jeff roe because he helped
00:56:55.320 ted cruz win iowa in 2016 and they thought if they could win iowa they would then leave iowa with the
00:57:02.500 momentum to go show they're strong and tank new hampshire and keep on going down to south carolina
00:57:08.340 um and so it what we have seen is that's absolutely not happening he can't even right now
00:57:13.940 be close in close range with donald trump maybe some people if he got everyone else to drop out
00:57:20.400 of the race before iowa uh maybe maybe he would have a chance but as of right now he's the one that's
00:57:26.720 down in new hampshire so there's literally no incentive for anybody else to come in and give him
00:57:32.600 that path from iowa to new hampshire to south carolina and there's no path for anyone else nikki haley for
00:57:38.160 example who's up in new hampshire uh it's true she's doing well in new hampshire but she's doing well
00:57:42.900 for second place in new hampshire and doing well for second place in south carolina if we were talking
00:57:48.000 about her doing well for a potential first place in new hampshire and then a potential first place
00:57:52.620 in south carolina we might be talking about a race but what we're talking about here is a race for
00:57:57.820 second place which now even ronda santis is losing because he doesn't have the momentum that he needs
00:58:03.960 in new hampshire and south carolina and nikki haley isn't going to come anywhere close in iowa she's not
00:58:09.440 going to come anywhere close in all in all likelihood she's not going to get close to
00:58:13.680 donald trump in new hampshire south carolina it could change if chris christie drops out uh that's
00:58:18.260 a huge boost that's 11 that's a lot of voters i suspect would go to nikki haley and gets her closer
00:58:22.820 to that 35 40 range uh so then you might have a race but other than that other than that it's still
00:58:29.760 a race for second place because donald trump is up by double digits everywhere you look you know way
00:58:36.320 back when i was in law school i was in the finals of this appellate argument competition with my
00:58:40.200 partner and the night of the finals we got to have dinner with three judges from new york state's
00:58:45.920 highest court which is called the court of appeals and it was so exciting to meet them we were young
00:58:50.600 we you know we were clueless and green but really excited and it was myself my partner and then the
00:58:56.900 team that we were going to go up against who were friends of ours too and my partner dave said to the
00:59:01.780 judges you know i'm this is just such an honor like we've already won no matter what happens
00:59:10.600 we're winners tonight and one of the judges looked at him and said second place is losing son
00:59:16.860 just just a reminder before we went out there second place is losing that's we need that reminder now
00:59:25.060 like we you get sucked in well i go about oh this one's moving up this one's moving down
00:59:30.240 really truly you have to keep your eyes on the one who's above them all he's up he's up here and
00:59:35.840 they're all be down here now something huge could happen who are we to say something huge cannot happen
00:59:42.600 he's under indictment in four places yada yada he's not a spring chicken but he's only getting stronger
00:59:50.280 trump's is only getting stronger not not only versus the gop field but versus joe biden just
00:59:56.000 more on that discussion we had before the break cnn uh their harry enton pointing out joe biden
01:00:02.080 is facing a near historic deficit for an incumbent to what you said eliana over the past 80 years
01:00:08.040 incumbents have on average led their eventual challengers by a little more than 10 points about
01:00:14.380 a year out from the election where we are right now that's the average you're in the incumbent you have
01:00:18.540 the advantage and you tend to lead by more than 10 points one year before the vote he's losing he's
01:00:25.120 this incumbent is losing to donald trump he says it's a small but clear advantage over biden right
01:00:31.880 now it makes biden just the second president since scientific polling began to trail in his
01:00:37.020 re-election bid at this point in the campaign take a look joe biden was also alive when scientific
01:00:42.200 polling began that's his experience which we should be very grateful for emily right you young
01:00:50.460 you young whippersnapper um he says take a look at recent national surveys from cbs news you gov
01:00:56.940 cnn fox news marquette quinipiac all five are high quality polls all five give trump an advantage of two
01:01:03.700 to four points over biden among registered or likely voters um it's he says all together they paint a
01:01:10.460 picture of an incumbent with a real problem and then he says in fact the lone incumbent to be behind
01:01:17.400 in the polls at this point in the race one year out was trump who trailed biden for by about 10 points
01:01:24.180 in november 2019 and trump lost trump lost so i mean the writings on the wall they don't they don't seem
01:01:32.920 to recognize it and all the write-ups that i've read today from you know more left-wing or more centrist
01:01:38.360 publications with access to democratic strategists who know joe biden they all say he's not he's not
01:01:43.340 going anywhere it's a pipe dream you remember vivek at the last debate tell us who the real
01:01:48.580 candidate is and he's just you know he's gonna step aside just make it happen right now so we know
01:01:52.700 who we're running against no what they're saying eliana is it's not gonna happen joe biden is not
01:01:59.000 listening to david axelrod or any of these polls he keeps saying look at what happened in 2022 look at
01:02:07.480 what happened in 2023 in the midterm or off your elections that i didn't pull well i wasn't
01:02:12.880 particularly popular but the democrats came home when push comes to shove they'll come home and i'm not
01:02:19.140 going anywhere 81 or not well he wasn't on the ballot in 2022 or in the 2023 special elections and
01:02:29.820 the question is will voters come home when he is on the ballot but one thing that i think is important
01:02:34.940 to uh to talk about for biden that i think is very relevant is the advantages of incumbency and whether
01:02:41.420 he's actually able to capitalize on them um incumbency typically does carry with it huge advantages
01:02:47.720 because obviously um the president has an enormous bully pulpit that um a challenger simply doesn't
01:02:55.540 have um but i think biden can't um capitalize on them in the way that other incumbents have been able
01:03:04.080 to um he doesn't give a lot of speeches he doesn't do a lot of press conferences he doesn't stop and talk
01:03:10.720 to the press in the way that previous incumbents have and he's simply not able to take advantages of the
01:03:16.720 typical um the the uh the typical advantages of incumbency particularly when it comes to the
01:03:23.620 communication platform of the white house you know they call it the rose garden strategy all right you
01:03:28.820 can give those speeches you can use the white house all the backdrops there's a lot of majesty that
01:03:33.180 comes with it with it well his aides don't want him out there um he screws up he looks old and i think
01:03:41.220 that's a real factor at play in this election that um you have to discount and uh take away some of
01:03:48.240 those advantages because biden's simply not able to uh to use them i'm all about the memory lane today
01:03:54.480 because when you say his aides don't want him out there all i can think of is that line from arthur
01:03:59.160 one of the greatest movies ever you know but dudley moore the drunk billionaire most of you know me
01:04:05.220 can you blame them of course they don't want him out there every time he goes out there he
01:04:15.020 can't find his words he can't find his people he can't find where to stand he trips he stumbles
01:04:19.460 whatever oh in fact we got we got one of those examples coming in right now um just today he
01:04:26.500 reportedly struggled we're going to show it to you i haven't seen it yet through a an incomprehensible
01:04:31.680 joke about taylor swift's concert in rio de janeiro de janeiro during what should be a very simple event
01:04:39.620 the turkey pardoning at the white house he's a very simple you're pardoned i pardon you i pardon you
01:04:45.300 no he went off script and let's find out together what happened now just to get here liberty and bell
01:04:53.680 had to beat some tough odds the competition they had to work hard to show patience and be willing to
01:04:59.920 travel over a thousand miles you could say even this harder than getting a ticket to the renaissance
01:05:06.560 tour or or or britney's tour she's down in it's kind of warm in brazil right now
01:05:14.640 what what what did the renaissance tour or the what tour i think he said britney britney
01:05:24.460 yeah is it britney sounded like he said britney i think he confused britney's
01:05:29.980 and that's not even the worst i mean that's a mild biting gaffe it's hilarious but it's like it's not
01:05:38.980 even as bad as it gets and it's really bad i mean for any other president to hear it again do we need
01:05:44.100 to hear it again i think yeah 10 more times i don't understand what happened now just to get here
01:05:50.920 liberty and bell had to beat some tough odds the competition they had to work hard to show
01:05:56.240 patience and be willing to travel over a thousand miles you could say even this harder than getting
01:06:02.800 a ticket to the renaissance tour or or or britney's tour she's down in it's kind of warm in brazil right
01:06:12.220 now oh god oh god i'm so close no not close at all and you know an aide wrote that for him i mean
01:06:23.860 this is where it's just ridiculous they're they're writing easy copy for the pardoning of the thanks
01:06:29.980 giving turkeys and some liberty and bell thinks it's a good idea to try to a have him pronounce the
01:06:37.220 word renaissance b be able to connect the dots that that's somehow related back to a pop star who's
01:06:43.140 named taylor swift i mean he doesn't know what why is he saying the renaissance tour with the taylor
01:06:48.760 swift tour is called the eras tour i don't know where renaissance came from britney spears is not on
01:06:55.080 tour um she she hasn't been in a while i i don't understand any piece of what just happened
01:07:03.040 there elliana but ellie's point is a good one i don't think the aid set him up for success don't
01:07:08.320 make don't give him pop references that he can't land if he happens to go off scratch or lose prompter
01:07:14.640 for two seconds it's obvious to everyone he doesn't know what the eras tour is
01:07:18.960 it's not an appropriate reference for a for an 81 year old guy uh let's stick to dog face pony soldier
01:07:28.000 that was good oh wait the renaissance tour is beyonce's tour okay that's what i thought i
01:07:34.660 should have mixed up three different pop figures we've got beyonce britney and taylor conflated
01:07:41.180 into one woman but did his staff mess that up or did he because now i'm wondering obviously he
01:07:47.940 messed it up no matter what he couldn't even say the name of whoever he's trying to reference it
01:07:52.300 sounded like britney it's and then he goes and talks about brazil so is it messed up did his staff
01:07:57.360 refer to the taylor swift concert because he somehow has brazil on his paper and in his head
01:08:02.000 did they confuse it with the beyonce tour and then it double confused joe biden who has no idea what any
01:08:07.980 of this is and thinks probably the biggest pop star is i don't even know it's someone from the 50s
01:08:13.560 so here's an here's an update um media pointing out that that okay so first of all taylor swift is the
01:08:21.560 one who's in brazil beyonce is launching a tour called the renaissance tour it's it's not as far as we
01:08:26.720 can tell in brazil that's taylor swift who's in brazil he points out that he says it's kind of
01:08:32.020 warm in brazil right he says she's down in it's kind of warm in brazil right now this comes after
01:08:39.700 a woman died at a taylor swift performance there and it made massive headlines so i there's like four
01:08:46.720 stories in one in what he has access to the nuclear codes okay he was meeting with the president of a
01:08:56.420 nuclear power last week she didn't pay i mean this is the same guy this is a this yeah this is why the
01:09:04.320 numbers are so dreadful in particular with the young people i told you i'd get you the numbers that i was
01:09:09.220 talking about um it's young people's approval of how he's handling the israel hamas war uh among 18 to
01:09:18.300 20 year olds 70 percent disapprove 70 percent disapprove of how he's handling that now i don't
01:09:27.700 know what's in there is that that tick tock i don't know kornacki again saying he's 50 points underwater
01:09:34.960 among young voters it's dreadful but of course his age is their biggest complaint we've seen that
01:09:41.880 in poll after poll it's the biggest complaint across all age groups they can tell us as much
01:09:48.260 as they want that the aides can't keep up with him can see with our eyes and ears it's a lie all right
01:09:55.140 let's go back to the gop ears because oh god oh god who did that i don't know it's a montage yes oh god
01:10:07.700 i don't know it's our mean mean crew debbie and steve again can we just flash back for five seconds
01:10:15.140 about all the news coverage we had when donald trump held on to the handle for three seconds when he went
01:10:20.800 down the stairs on air force one that was like a week of stories about trump and his age um or the
01:10:28.580 25th amendment we how many times did we have to talk about the 25th amendment being invoked
01:10:32.420 oh god oh god this is terrible this is debbie debbie murphy did it steve steve krakauer would like
01:10:39.800 you to know steve's off the hook this poor guy um oh god there you go oh my god
01:10:46.800 it's falling debbie i haven't seen this when did you put this together oh that was a sandbag
01:10:53.080 she said it was in our system um before we move off of trump or before we i want to go back to the
01:11:00.140 gop ears but one thing that's not going to happen from the looks of it is trump's not going to be
01:11:04.000 booted off these ballots uh in minnesota and colorado and some other states as an insurrectionist
01:11:09.940 we had told our audience that this is one possible lane available for the undercard
01:11:13.820 candidates you know if trump can't get on the ticket on voting day in colorado and minnesota
01:11:20.760 and michigan and other states swing states that were toying with this challenge oh he's an
01:11:25.640 insurrectionist and under the 14th amendment he's automatically disqualified some legal scholars
01:11:30.880 were saying that on the left and the right we said it was bullshit well it is bullshit a colorado
01:11:35.980 court just had a long trial week long and found he is an insurrectionist they said that he did incite
01:11:42.820 the january 6th uh riot however uh they don't believe the 14th amendment applies to the u.s president
01:11:49.760 only to other offices so it didn't happen there and if it didn't happen there it's not going to
01:11:53.740 happen elsewhere more than likely so that lane closing these guys are gonna have to earn it the
01:11:58.180 old-fashioned way by just beating trump and getting more voters um and so far it doesn't look all that
01:12:03.840 promising we mentioned vivek vivek turned up on the bill maher show this week not in person but by name
01:12:11.700 when my old pal i did not cheat to help hillary clinton donna brazil was on with bill maher it's amazing to
01:12:21.760 me she gave hillary clinton the debate questions she gave her the debate questions and she still
01:12:29.580 gets employed by people this is when she was running the dnc one of the top people of the dnc and
01:12:35.120 on cnn um debbie wesley schultz i think was her name but she was a top executive and she got hired by
01:12:42.200 fox news after that she's on cnn all the time there she is on bill maher you can actually cheat
01:12:49.940 at a presidential debate and i guess if you're not down in brazil no one gives a shit like come right
01:12:57.340 here sign a contributorship deal okay so here she was talking about vivek ramaswamy in what an
01:13:04.280 exchange that got a lot of attention watch and vivek needs to just shut the hell up and go home
01:13:10.040 okay it's it's vivek
01:13:17.880 whatever would you would you say that about uh other i'm donna vivek is it vivek ramaswamy
01:13:26.620 ramaswamy thank you so much i learn so much when i come on this show i know
01:13:34.020 but vivek vivek vivek needs to go home
01:13:39.180 i agree i just i just feel like there's something wrong with everybody refusing to learn to say his
01:13:48.320 name i just feel there's a little racism there
01:13:51.040 and then vivek weighed in posting on x i wonder what they'd do if a white republican
01:13:59.980 intentionally mispronounced donna's name and then told her to return home
01:14:05.740 shots fired what do you make of it emily well yeah i think the way vivek responded was correct
01:14:14.120 because bill marr saying something is racist or might be a little racist doesn't actually make
01:14:19.920 it racist from my perspective because you know that's you precipitate she's she's saying go home
01:14:25.540 this is i don't even think this is a charitable reading but let's say it is of what she's saying
01:14:29.740 i think she's saying he needs to get out of the race and stop wasting everybody's time that's how
01:14:33.720 i interpreted what she said i do think though this is the point vivek is making and it's smart
01:14:38.680 that if the roles were reversed and if she was a white republican strategist saying this about uh you
01:14:45.880 know a vivek ramaswamy on the democrat in the democratic primary said go home refused to learn
01:14:52.480 to pronounce his name then yes there would be think pieces in huffposts about how it was racism
01:14:58.100 people would be sharing their sad personal stories of racism and connecting the dots and saying this
01:15:03.400 is what i experience every single day as vivek ramaswamy so i think that's the correct response
01:15:08.940 i i don't think the correct response is to say donna brazil is racist against vivek ramaswamy i think
01:15:14.660 the correct response is that she's a hypocrite against vivek ramaswamy and to be fair it's a hard name
01:15:20.940 yeah i don't know if she is racist but she's definitely a cheater he is a cheater she cheated
01:15:27.420 on a presidential debate i had her on on fox news the night of the debate then when it had broken or
01:15:37.080 the night of one of the debates and it had broken and she didn't know like she still came on
01:15:42.320 and this is what happened look at this is the person we're talking about
01:15:45.820 you were accused of receiving a debate question before a cnn town hall you had this question on
01:15:52.860 on march 12th that that verbatim verbatim was provided by roland martin to cnn the next day
01:16:01.980 how did you get that question donna well kelly since i play straight up and i'll play straight up with
01:16:07.500 you uh i did not receive any questions from cns the wiki leaks released a march 12th podesta email
01:16:15.580 showing you messaging the clinton campaign with the exact wording of a question asked at the march
01:16:21.340 13th cnn tv1 town hall debate where did you get it i i i you know as a christian woman i understand
01:16:28.060 persecution but i will not sit here and be persecuted because your information is totally false what
01:16:33.020 you're what you're telling the american people what what you're what what you well podesta's emails
01:16:38.540 were stolen you're so interested in talking about so you deny it you're like you're like a thief that
01:16:44.460 want to bring into the night the things that you found that was in the gutter when you said stuff
01:16:48.700 from time to time i get the questions in advance what were you referring to a lot of those emails i
01:16:53.420 would not give them a time of the day i persecuted her i was i was the one lying she was caught she wound
01:17:02.700 up having to admit it and apologize but she did not apologize to me for calling her me a persecutor
01:17:10.460 kelly i seriously like i'm just i'm amazed that this person still has a job she cheated at a town
01:17:17.980 hall not a debate um she said later leaking leaking the town hall topics to the clinton campaign was a
01:17:25.580 mistake i will forever regret so just want people to remember that every time they see donna brazil
01:17:32.460 being promoted by fox news by cnn by bill mar what is she doing on there she every introduction should
01:17:41.100 start with donna brazil who cheated in the presidential campaign when hillary clinton appeared at a town hall
01:17:47.340 it's disgusting okay i'm working something out there but i'm just saying he also lied about it i think
01:17:53.420 that's the the other thing she knew that that wasn't a fake email that had been manipulated by russian
01:17:58.540 hackers and then she went on your tv show basically tried to turn the tables attack a journalist and
01:18:03.580 saying that you and say you were spreading lies when she knew damn well because she sent the email
01:18:09.500 that the email was real so not only did she cheat she then lied about it and attacked journalists
01:18:15.340 based on that lie it's true honestly like i'll tell you this is like an irritant to me because
01:18:22.220 ever since my my departure from nbc news like literally every article they write about me
01:18:28.860 includes oh megan kelly who defended blackface which is not exactly what happened at all we were
01:18:33.500 talking about how people used to wear it and how did the standards change whatever i mean literally
01:18:38.220 every single article and you look at guess who's hosting the oscars this year jimmy kimmel has worn
01:18:44.380 blackface so many times he wore blackface spoke in a a urban accent he put on a fat suit to be oprah
01:18:52.380 winfrey and talked about how he needed to darn socks as a black fat oprah winfrey hosting the oscars
01:19:00.700 they don't mention that every time they introduce jimmy kimmel you think that's going to be in his
01:19:04.620 oscars introduction i don't think so donna brazil every time they introduce donna brazil
01:19:10.060 in an article or on tv i think they mentioned the fact that she cheated at a presidential town hall
01:19:15.420 when the future of the country's leadership was in the balance she cheated nope she gets paid
01:19:21.020 contributor ships at this network and that network on the left on the right goes on bill mars bro
01:19:26.780 i just like i'm so over the left's hypocrisy and to vivek ramaswamy's point he's absolutely right
01:19:33.820 because you know how many pieces there have been written about how these angry white male
01:19:39.500 conservatives won't properly pronounce kamala harris's name because of racism racism my team
01:19:47.340 just pulled one for me just for kicks oh my god this publication is a joke with this refinery 29
01:19:53.580 why are republicans mispronouncing kamala harris's name racism and they go through all the evil right
01:19:59.820 wing commentators uh and why they won't say it properly tucker carlson number one i mean tucker carlson
01:20:08.780 he does that stuff for humor and frankly most of us found it very funny
01:20:14.940 like don lemond tucker knows how don lemon's last name is pronounced he's mocking him he's diminishing
01:20:21.580 him in in like an intentional way in any event vivek's exactly right if you're a white guy you don't get
01:20:26.700 away with that crap if you're donna brazil you get away with everything everything um okay i want to go back
01:20:32.540 to alleged anti-semitism because there is news on a story that's been out there quite a bit
01:20:40.780 and that involves candace owens i don't know if you two have been following this whole controversy
01:20:45.500 but she's in a big fight with ben shapiro over at the daily wire um she she's been
01:20:54.220 very critical of israel and suggested they're committing a genocide among other things and she
01:21:00.460 sounds a lot like some of these students for justice in palestine protesters um and so ben of
01:21:07.020 course is one of the most prominent jews in america and he's been very defensive of israel
01:21:13.420 and there's a tension there so he was caught on camera saying he thinks her behavior has been
01:21:18.300 disgraceful that she's a faux intellect intellectual or supposed sophisticate and uh that she's kind of
01:21:24.780 been exposed in all this and she tweeted out that he's been emotionally unhinged and that everybody's
01:21:32.460 been running around you know trying not to upset him for these weeks but this is ridiculous and then
01:21:40.140 these bible verses suggesting she was being persecuted and it just spiraled downward downward
01:21:46.780 downward well jeremy boring who is ben's co-founder of the daily wire tweeted out over
01:21:52.220 the weekend we're not going to be firing candace um he said ben and i don't make those decisions
01:21:58.540 anymore we're not like ben's uh jeremy's off doing something else right now and ben doesn't make hiring
01:22:03.660 and firing decisions she's not going to get fired i think that i think honestly this is my own take
01:22:07.420 they would love to see her quit ben's tweet said if you want to quit go right ahead um daily wire is
01:22:13.020 not in the business of shutting down people's opinions they've got very controversial ones
01:22:16.060 over there and they haven't shut anybody down so far i don't know why they'd start with her
01:22:20.540 enter david horowitz now david horowitz is a very prominent jewish american who we featured on the show
01:22:27.580 not long ago not live but a clip from 2010 where he was giving a speech at university and this young
01:22:34.220 woman stood up and tried to get on him for things he had said at the speech and he recognized her
01:22:40.860 wearing that you know that same palestinian flag that we see out on the street now or scarf and he
01:22:46.940 said let me just put it this way somebody once said i want all the jews to be in israel because
01:22:52.540 i'll have to work less hard to exterminate them something like that for it or against it and she said for
01:22:58.860 it so he just he was very effective in making his case that's david horowitz he's now coming for
01:23:05.260 candace saying look we once had her at our david horowitz freedom center she was then little known
01:23:12.300 we had her to our annual restoration weekend gathering of conservatives and we believed in
01:23:18.540 her that's why we're so disappointed in what she has become he says back then she had an ambitious plan
01:23:26.060 to improve the black vote for republicans it's not clear what happened to that instead of liberating
01:23:31.100 the black community candace began giving platforms to anti-israel voices like andrew tate a muslim
01:23:36.460 convert who said that isis are the real muslims because isis do exactly what the book says
01:23:43.100 because of our history with candace and our hope that she would pull out of the spiral we did not
01:23:46.300 make an issue of it but we've decided to issue the present statement because of our recent promotion
01:23:50.620 of hamas's genocidal lies for example she's falsely compared israel to the segregated south
01:23:56.780 this is the sort of ignorant apartheid state slander we expect from black lives matter
01:24:01.420 and the jew killers of the middle east when candace implied that israel was engaged in genocide for
01:24:06.540 defending itself against the atrocities committed by hamas that's the kind of genocidal lie we expect
01:24:11.500 to hear from hamas instead of focusing on the meaningful activism and defense of american values
01:24:16.780 that brought her to our attention candace owens has become upset obsessed with her own fame stirring
01:24:22.940 up drama to compensate for a lack of real achievement her comments about israel and her and her promotion
01:24:28.140 of people like tate are part of a pattern candace tackles a subject she knows nothing about never
01:24:34.140 bothers to learn anything about it and then rides the backlash by playing the victim to generate more
01:24:40.060 fame and money what a tragic misuse of talents he goes on to say she has become aoc she hates israel for
01:24:50.940 the same reason aoc does fame she proves she knows as little about israel as aoc does etc etc she's become
01:25:00.460 a sad caricature i mean this is about as strong an attack and a punch as i've seen from david horowitz
01:25:09.900 i what's happening what's happening what's happening with this eliana and what's happening on the right
01:25:16.380 when it comes to israel that's a big question megan there are a couple things that have jumped out to me
01:25:24.060 about this uh one is about the daily wire and one is about free speech generally generally um one thing
01:25:31.820 that has emerged is ben has stepped forward and um dared her to quit and it has emerged that he doesn't
01:25:39.020 make hiring or firing decisions there jeremy has stepped forward and said well i'm on leave and i
01:25:44.780 don't make hiring or firing decisions there well presumably somebody does there and the two co-founders
01:25:51.420 of this prominent um right-wing brand are both saying uh we're not in charge here without saying who
01:25:58.220 actually is and well absolutely candace owens is entitled to her opinions and her and entitled to uh to
01:26:05.980 say whatever she wants the daily wire is not obligated to provide her with a prominent platform
01:26:11.900 and millions of dollars for broadcasting her opinion uh they are entitled to tell her uh to that she can
01:26:20.300 seek another platform to do that um and i would say the litigation of these disputes on social media
01:26:27.260 is such a modern day um embarrassing thing that is sullying what at one point was um a nice brand um
01:26:36.620 for the right that is now going to be i think sullied by this gross dispute between its leaders that's just
01:26:45.980 not something that that i personally like to see on that that is just embarrassing um let me ask you let me
01:26:53.500 ask you a follow up on that you think they should fire her for her opinions on the israel thing i'm
01:26:59.020 not saying they should fire her uh that's not my decision but um but it is striking to see the two
01:27:06.300 people who identify themselves on their website as the co-founders say we don't make these decisions
01:27:12.460 well somebody does uh and it would nice it would be nice to know who that person is um and to me this is
01:27:18.700 not a free speech issue she's entitled to say what she wants but she's not entitled to the platform and
01:27:23.420 all the money that that comes along with it well it depends on what her deal says you know her deal
01:27:28.460 may say typically they would say if you bring the company into disrepute we have the right to fire you
01:27:34.060 absolutely without paying you out uh but i don't know what her deal says absolutely and i think you
01:27:39.260 said something along the lines of like they're not in the business of um of policing speech really that's
01:27:44.620 their decision uh it's their decision to decide whether they want their brand to be associated
01:27:49.900 with a person like this who sits down with tarker carlson in what i thought was one of the most
01:27:54.780 disgraceful interviews others uh may and i'm sure do disagree um but the things that were said in that
01:28:00.860 35 minute long interview um where they complained that the emotional the emotion that americans and
01:28:07.820 american politicians the emotional reaction they've had to the october 7th massacre in israel
01:28:13.020 is disproportionate to what happens and that we have an invasion in this country by immigrants you
01:28:18.380 know comparing illegal immigration in this country to what happened in israel and why aren't people
01:28:23.820 having the same response to that i thought brought to bear some of the most noxious anti-semitic tropes
01:28:30.540 uh that we've seen throughout history um i think somebody there should decide whether they want one of the
01:28:36.780 the most prominent faces of their brand to continue to be such and to continue to reap fame and fortune
01:28:43.980 from from their brand hmm what do you think emily i have a lot of thoughts on this i will say i i don't
01:28:51.580 think that i would fire her specifically because i think she's basically one of the tick tock people
01:28:57.980 discovering osama bin laden's letter to america and that sounds really harsh but i don't mean it in as
01:29:03.420 harsh of a way it sounds i actually think we do a really bad job teaching our history and the history
01:29:09.180 especially of the cold war in this country and so now you have younger people people you know in their
01:29:15.100 20s maybe even early 30s like candace owens i think is you know somewhere around my age she
01:29:21.180 discovering a lot of things like there a lot of things about u.s policy etc etc uh over the last 20 30 40
01:29:28.460 50 years that are surprising and because they didn't know these things and because these things
01:29:34.860 were treated as forbidden truths as things you couldn't talk about um they're really powerful
01:29:41.580 and and people who are learning them for the first time you know the sort of anti-american narrative
01:29:46.780 about israel uh the anti-american narrative about you know the tal the taliban and the cold war and the
01:29:52.860 mujahideen and all of that uh it makes people when they learn it for the first time
01:29:57.660 automatically say i thought america was good america did something bad america must be entirely
01:30:04.140 bad and you see that with candace owens bringing norm finkelstein onto her show all of these sorts of
01:30:09.900 these people that are bitterly at their core howard zinn style anti-american anti-western anti-capitalist
01:30:17.660 leftists and and it's really powerful when younger people sort of discover that a lot of things uh that
01:30:23.820 are forbidden truths are actually have some you know factual backing up to them and then they they
01:30:29.260 take that and suddenly everything becomes a lie and that's what you saw some of the people on tick
01:30:34.940 tock saying and i think that's basically what candace owens is saying she's basically feels like
01:30:38.460 everything she was told about the us and israel is a lie because a couple of things are lies and because
01:30:43.420 we ban and censor a couple of those things that doesn't make america bad it doesn't make the whole
01:30:49.100 thing a lie um i just think we we do need to in general you know not treat certain things like
01:30:54.940 they're uh forbidden truths let them be aired out let her air out her ignorance she's done that
01:31:00.140 fabulously over the last couple of weeks she's been in debates with people on her show looking
01:31:04.860 ridiculous because she doesn't know basic facts about israel let it happen i think that's more
01:31:09.660 powerful uh than if ben could wave a magic wand and fire her i think it's more powerful to let her
01:31:14.860 continue to say these things well again we don't know what the deal says i will say that
01:31:19.580 i'll predict right now that when it comes time to renew the deal that's not going to work out
01:31:25.020 unless it's not a good match it's just not a good match the daily wire they are true conservatives
01:31:29.900 they're they're vocal in their opinions they have different opinions we've had all of them on the show
01:31:34.860 from matt walsh and michael knolls to andrew clave and of course to ben
01:31:37.900 um i mean candace is her own particular brand and she is extremely incendiary she's
01:31:45.420 look i'm that's all i'm gonna say uh i'll just say i don't think her brand aligns with theirs and i
01:31:51.020 think there will be a natural parting of the ways when the contract ends and i think that's a good thing
01:31:57.500 in particular for the daily wire all right stand by we'll come right back right and yeah okay i got

01:33:15.100 off my chest i went to chicago two weekends ago out for a girls trip it was amazing we did a little
01:33:22.220 shopping on the saturday i walked into a store i'm going to do the store the courtesy of not naming them
01:33:28.460 but it was a women's clothing store i bought a coat i go to the register and i give her my card
01:33:37.580 and she says email please and i say i'm not in your system and she says oh no i i need it for your
01:33:45.100 receipt and i said well i don't want to provide that so i just give me a paper receipt and she looks at
01:33:53.740 me and says well then it's final sale well why why is it a why is it final sale she said because
01:34:02.380 you're not going to have a receipt i said i want a paper receipt i don't want to be in your system just
01:34:06.380 give me a paper receipt she said well what if you lose it i said that is for me to worry about that
01:34:14.460 whatever happened to the paper receipt it was a young person who like didn't live in the time
01:34:20.860 where we just walk in we give the credit card the credit card works you get the hard copy receipt
01:34:26.460 back and you walk away this is not a friendship it's not the beginning of a beautiful relationship
01:34:32.140 we don't get to exchange emails and you get my home address and you get my phone number my and you can
01:34:37.340 call me or email me or send my information or sell it to anybody who you want it's all up to me
01:34:43.340 give me my paper receipt and if i lose it it's my problem not yours what is happening emily you're a
01:34:50.540 young person do you remember the time when it was all about the paper receipt why is everybody asking
01:34:55.500 for your email now when you try to make a simple purchase at a clothing store yeah no of course i
01:35:01.020 mean you would save your receipts for forever i mean depending on how long the return period was
01:35:06.060 you have stacks of receipts i still have stacks of receipts in my wallet and to her question what if
01:35:12.060 you what if you delete the email i mean like what if you accidentally delete the email and 30 days
01:35:16.940 goes by and it's it's out of your trash can like that doesn't make any sense do you think she like

01:35:49.580 from and it's valuable to them but not to me oh this is my pet peeve and also it makes the checkout
