What Meghan Markle Really Knew About Shock Allegations Against Her Father, and Alex Cooper's Terrible Marriage Advice, with Glenn Greenwald | Ep.1426
00:00:30.800In communities across Canada, hourly Amazon employees earn an average of over $26 an hour.
00:00:39.040Employees also have the opportunity to grow their skills and their paycheck by enrolling in free skills training programs for in-demand fields like software development and information technology.
00:04:12.500And Thomas Jr., reports The Sun, went to local detectives to alert them to the fact that he found, quote, hundreds if not thousands of examples of child sexual abuse material.
00:04:28.580The Sun reports that Thomas Jr. has told friends he uncovered a 15-minute video of naked girls who appeared to be 10 or 11 years old on an abandoned mobile phone.
00:04:41.780The Sun reporting that the girls were engaged in sex acts.
00:04:47.440And Thomas Jr. also says he found three still pictures of naked girls of around the same age.
00:04:54.840Thomas Jr. was left, quote, a shaking wreck, he says, by this discovery and reported his father to the local authorities.
00:05:03.580Markle Sr., again, has been back here since May.
00:05:06.880we are told that the FBI has been alerted to all of this, as Markle Sr. is currently,
00:05:13.940he is a U.S. citizen and is currently in the United States. The latest information we had
00:05:18.540was that he had moved back to Pennsylvania, but now is down in Florida rehabbing from the leg.
00:05:24.500The FBI, we are told, is set to launch its own investigation. He will be under arrest soon if
00:05:30.180they believe that these are his images and that he was in possession of them.
00:05:37.180I mean, I'm not sure how the international jurisdiction piece of it will affect whose
00:07:38.720It is being reported right now that the Metropolitan Police is saying it did not investigate him,
00:07:48.000it has never investigated him, and it is not investigating him now.
00:07:52.240If that is true, why would there have been a letter, as she claims, as you heard there, suggesting that they were investigating him?
00:08:03.500If the Metropolitan Police, in fact, did not investigate Thomas Markle and is not investigating Thomas Markle, then why did she say in 2018 a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection?
00:08:19.580that letter was subsequently shared with me,
00:08:22.480it made troubling and disturbing allegations
00:08:47.200What, if anything, was done by the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection about a Prince of England's father-in-law being a child sex predator, alleged?
00:09:13.700They put out a statement earlier today saying they're aware of her allegation in this statement, and they are investigating to see who, if anyone, had contact with her and who, if anyone, received, if at all, such a letter.
00:09:32.440Again, what we're hearing now through the British press and its reports is that they've gotten the Metropolitan Police on record saying they did not investigate him and they are not investigating him.
00:09:42.940Now, as for whether they received a letter and possibly shared it with Markle, though
00:09:47.740she doesn't say it was Metropolitan Police that shared it with her.
00:09:51.120She says a letter was sent to them and it was subsequently shared with her.
00:09:55.300So she knew that they had received it in 2018 and someone, we are presuming the Metropolitan
00:10:00.480Police, though she doesn't say it, shared it with her.
00:10:15.980She's known, she says, for eight years that her father may be a child sexual abuser.0.99
00:10:27.060That's what you are when you look at, we used to call it kiddie porn.1.00
00:10:30.600You look at images of children in sex acts, you're a child abuser.1.00
00:10:37.460You're a child sexual abuser, a child sexual abuse pervert.1.00
00:10:42.320And it, I mean, there are more questions to be asked because if that's your thing, that's how you get off looking at pictures like that.1.00
00:10:51.100I mean, what percentage of those have not actually abused a child in person?
00:10:57.380I mean, like physically with sexual abuse.
00:11:01.760I want to tell you right now, Thomas Markle, senior, it's junior, who is outing these allegations, is now vehemently denying all of this.
00:11:12.320He is saying these are all lies that he hasn't been in possession of these laptops or phones in a long, long time.
00:11:23.140And his daughter, Samantha, who's Megan's half-older sister, is coming out and hurling accusations at her brother, Thomas Jr.,
00:11:32.880saying there was a falling out between he and Thomas the Elder and that he's bitter because
00:11:39.200the father has cut him off financially and suggesting that that may be a motive here to
00:11:44.100hurt him. The father has spoken out, I mean, passionately, for lack of a better word, to the
00:11:50.420Daily Mail saying, I'll get to his statement in more detail, but just want to tell you up front,
00:11:54.620saying, where do I go to get my reputation back? You know, I understand very well once
00:12:00.620allegations like these are made, they're out there. There's no retrieving them. There's no
00:12:05.020recuperating from them. And he sounds extremely distressed. I believe he's extremely distressed.
00:12:10.500Is he distressed because he's been outed as a child sexual abuser or is he distressed because
00:12:15.080he's been falsely labeled as the worst possible thing one can be labeled? I'm going to get again0.58
00:12:24.340into all the details of this. I'm giving you the broad-based story to kick things off.
00:12:27.840The other question, though, is what did Meghan Markle do?
00:12:34.940Let me tell you what I think happened here.
00:12:37.520I believe her that she was told this in 2018.
00:12:41.580I don't know by whom, since she didn't name them.
00:12:45.280And I cannot believe that she did not spend the last eight years trying to get to the bottom of whether or not this was true.0.98
00:12:52.960So, genuinely, in all of my criticisms of Meghan Markle, in all the time that I have looked at this person and found her to be an egotistical, narcissistic, small-minded, selfish, nasty bully,0.94
00:13:14.180I never would have dreamed she wouldn't do what was necessary to be done to protect children potentially being sexually exploited by her own father.0.96
00:13:29.160And that's absolutely what he was doing.
00:13:31.660Looking at child sexual abuse material is not a victimless crime.
00:13:35.820obviously you are creating a market for that material with every image that you download
00:13:43.160pay for obtain and quote enjoy and if she had reason to believe her father was such a man
00:13:51.460what did she do about it now maybe she was told say nothing as the investigation pans out but
00:13:59.880it's been eight years. So what did she do to follow up on that report with whomever told her
00:14:07.600the Metropolitan Police? Her husband's got some connections. What did they do to satisfy themselves
00:14:13.100that this either wasn't true after all, or if it was true, to make sure he was getting arrested?
00:14:24.540It was her brother who came forward, not her.
00:14:33.480And maybe the brother made it up, but when did he make it up?
00:14:36.160Because the falling out with the brother just happened, according to Samantha Markle.
00:14:40.700And Meghan Markle's telling us she had a heads up about this in 2018.
00:14:47.060So let's assume for purposes of argument, he's guilty.
00:14:51.460If this guy's into child sexual abuse material and she knew about it in 2018, wouldn't you be all over the Metropolitan Police from that day to this asking, what did you find?
00:15:31.100Because if she was told the investigation came to nothing, then her her excuse of this is why I never spent any time with him looks a little flimsy.
00:15:40.960If she was satisfied he wasn't this thing because somebody told her, didn't pan out, then why is she now telling us this is the reason she hasn't seen him in eight years?
00:15:52.880And if she wasn't told that it all came to nothing, what did she do to make sure he wasn't hurting kids in Mexico or the Philippines or then Florida?
00:16:05.000Truly, I am genuinely searching for an explanation to that question.
00:19:53.420This guy who's all about mental health and both of them have just, they have gone on and on about this social media, the protection of children.
00:20:08.040Both of them have also been telling us since 2018 that the reason for their estrangement from Thomas Markle is his bad behavior around their wedding, that you remember he was caught right before the wedding getting his suit tailored, getting ready.
00:20:33.660and it was pretty clear that he had cooperated with the paparazzi taking those photos and then
00:20:40.420he denied it to Megan she she later came out with this and said this publicly and um they were they
00:20:50.220felt betrayed and then they believed that he had been selling stories to the tabloids and she just
00:20:55.140said I'm done you know I don't want anything to do with him because he's not doing the right thing
00:21:00.840here. And a lot of people had issues with that saying, you know, he's like not the most sophisticated
00:21:04.700guy. He needed the money that the paparazzi comes along and offers you thousands of bucks for a
00:21:09.520photo of Megan or for a photo of you just getting ready. What's the harm? And felt she had abandoned
00:21:15.100him pretty quickly in the lead up to their wedding, which was in, I believe, May of 2018,
00:21:22.640if memory serves. It was April or May of 2018. But since then, they've been telling us that they
00:21:30.900separated from him because of that. And they didn't say, and there are also some other troubling
00:21:40.440issues that aren't appropriate for public discussion, but one day will be. Like, wink,
00:21:46.700wink, we're working with authorities behind the scenes. Nothing. Okay, here, in fact,
00:21:52.640is Harry in a 2022 Netflix documentary
00:23:19.780I mean, is there a possibility she's lying?
00:23:21.880about being told this in 2018? I mean, that's even crazier. I believe her. I believe her that
00:23:31.440she was told in 2018 there was some sort of an investigation underway. I think if that's not
00:23:37.720true, then it's even more bizarre. She took a risk of being criticized for not protecting children
00:23:44.420for eight years in order to make up a story about why she kept her kids away from him. That doesn't
00:23:48.580make sense to me. But I don't understand why they've been telling totally false stories ever
00:23:54.860since, as opposed to just being ambiguous. Here's what Meghan told Oprah the year before that in
00:24:00.1602021, three years after she allegedly got this letter during their infamous sit down.
00:24:05.300Did it feel like betrayal when you found out your father was working with the tabloids?
00:24:10.420If we're going to use the word betrayal, it's because when I asked him,
00:24:15.240when we were told by the comms team, this is a story that was going to be coming out, which by
00:24:19.660the way, the tabloids had apparently known for a month or so and decided to hold until
00:24:26.040the Sunday before our wedding because they wanted to create drama. We called my dad and I asked him
00:24:31.840and he said, no, absolutely not. And I said, you know, the institution has never intervened for
00:24:41.800anything for us but they can try to go in and kill this story but if they do this once we're
00:24:48.160not going to be able to use that same leverage to protect our own kids one day he said no absolutely
00:24:52.340not he hadn't been talking to them yeah yeah so he basically lied to you well and so when i said
00:24:57.120we won't be able to protect our own kids one day and and i said so i just need you to tell me and
00:25:02.720if you tell me the truth we can help and he wasn't able to do that and that for me has has really
00:25:09.280resonated, especially now as a mother. I don't get it. I mean, first of all, that is all of her
00:25:17.020narcissistic tendencies, right? Perfectly on display. The institution has never protected
00:25:21.100us. They've never done a thing to protect us. More grievance. Yeah. They've been so horrible
00:25:26.120to you, letting you live in their castle on their private grounds, allowing you to wear the crown
00:25:30.920jewels at your wedding. Like, well, just fucking stop. Okay. So we've been unprotected. We've been0.99
00:25:38.280unprotected. The institution has never done anything for us. But what she's saying there
00:25:43.680is we have one chit that we can use with the royal family to run interference with the press,
00:25:49.500just one, a lifetime, one chit. And that she went to her dad, this unsophisted lighting director
00:25:55.920from California, who's now an elderly man and said, I'll use it for you. I will use it to
00:26:02.000kill the stories about you cooperating with the paparazzi if you want me to, but you better know0.91
00:26:05.640that that's the end of my chit. Your future grandchildren will not be protected because
00:26:12.180the royal family is going to come back to me and say, you used it on your dad, Thomas Markle.
00:26:16.280That was the only time we could ever go to the tabloids and we did it for your dad,0.97
00:26:20.880which this is all fucking made up. What is she talking about? Right. Like the royal family would0.97
00:26:25.680be less inclined if they had stayed in the UK and been working royals to protect Princess Lilibet
00:26:33.380and Prince Archie actual potential heirs to the throne because they gave Thomas Markle that cover
00:26:41.060that one time about working with the paparazzi. These are fucked up lies. So all of that was1.00
00:26:47.700untrue. Every word of it appears to have been untrue to Oprah, other than the business, I guess,
00:26:53.660of her father lying to her about cooperating with the paparazzi. But it's not true that the
00:27:00.140institution never protected them. It's not true that there's one shit that you can ever use to0.99
00:27:06.180get interference with the press over in the UK and that they never would have protected Archie0.96
00:27:10.240or Lilibet because they had done something for Thomas Markle back in 2018. And it's also not
00:27:17.160true to the extent she's offering this up as the explanation for why her father is no longer part
00:27:24.660of her life. Or it is true and her current story is false. You can't have it both ways. One of these
00:27:32.340is a lie. One of these is a lie. The two of them have been parading all over the world
00:27:43.980Since 2018, warning about the dangers of social media, the online community on multiple occasions since 2018, never disclosed is in particular the dangers of child sexual abuse material and a family connection, at least alleged to it.
00:31:09.360This is the ridiculous whole point of her statement,0.66
00:31:12.820that despite certain media publications' distortion over the years,
00:31:15.640any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children
00:31:19.500was for one reason, to protect them. Then she writes this, I trusted that the authorities
00:31:24.860were doing the same for other families. How? You trusted how? What did you do to make sure?
00:31:36.160Truly, that's what I want to know. What did you do to make sure? Then she writes, although the
00:31:41.900breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine. My sincerest
00:31:46.360hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection
00:31:52.020of innocent children. I mean, I am sure that Meghan Markle does not support child sexual
00:31:58.620abuse material being looked at by anyone or the harming of children. But let's face it,
00:32:05.800if she did nothing over the past eight years, she has been complicit.
00:32:13.440And this is going to be very, very tough for them to recover from. I'm genuinely horrified.
00:32:21.300I do want to tell you what the dad is saying in fairness to him. We know this family is very
00:32:30.200dysfunctional. I believe that Thomas Jr. is also dysfunctional. I believe he's got an axe to grind
00:32:36.880with the dad, potentially, as Samantha, the sister, says. It's extraordinary what he is
00:32:44.820alleging. And if he has gone to all this trouble to actually get his father in legal trouble at age
00:32:51.06082, it's just, I have a difficult time believing it. But this is what Thomas Markle says.
00:33:00.200this is bullshit. It's just a bunch of lies. This is to the Daily Mail exclusively.1.00
00:33:05.300It's sick. I have no idea why Tom is trying to destroy me with these lies.0.63
00:33:09.440Asked about a quote from a source close to Meghan who reportedly told The Sun,
00:33:13.860now maybe people will finally understand why she has nothing to do with her father since 2019,
00:33:19.000Thomas Sr. replied, I don't believe that, saying he and Meghan had a great relationship until she
00:33:24.000met Prince Harry and he stupidly posed for those paparazzi pictures on the eve of their wedding.
00:33:28.280When asked directly by the Daily Mail, did you download porn onto your computers, Thomas Sr. replied, never, never, never. I have never done that. He said he would welcome a computer expert to autopsy his word, the computers, later clarifying he meant that they could forensically examine the machines to determine whether he was in possession of the computers when the alleged vile content was downloaded.0.93
00:33:50.540Quote, these terrible lies are being made against me with no proof, he said.
00:33:53.740How can you accuse a man of something like this with no proof?
00:33:57.540He writes about his son or says, I have not spoken to Tom in months.
00:34:01.160I don't know where this has come from.
00:34:02.600I can only think he's doing this to make money.
00:34:05.040I go between feeling very sad to feeling very angry.
00:34:08.360He has had a turbulent relationship with his son, writes the male, who left his home in
00:34:12.660Oregon in 2022 to move to Mexico, where his father retired after his award-winning career
00:34:35.380I welcome an investigation because I did not do this.
00:34:38.680I'm scared because I don't feel safe anymore.
00:34:41.600People believe accusations even if they are not true.
00:34:44.560This is the worst thing you can accuse someone of.
00:34:46.740I would like to ask Tom why I have not spoken to my son in several months, but our last conversation was friendly. He didn't ask for money, but if he had, I probably would have given it to him like I always have in the past.
00:34:58.480And then, as I reported, the sister Samantha came out and said that the brother and the father are estranged and that, stand by, her brother's allegations are disgusting and have no merit whatsoever.
00:35:21.660She is her father's main caregiver.0.92
00:45:15.000Yeah, dark is the only right word, the word that I was thinking about as I was listening to you kind of lay it out. There's so many aspects here, Megan. So as you were going, I was sort of picking and choosing, which I thought the word most important to highlight.
00:45:28.420I think I'll begin with the relationship that this case has to so many of the other ones over the past couple of decades where we have discovered that what are supposed to be our most elite, pristine, respected institutions so often ended up being associated with just the darkest, most degenerate form of behavior.
00:45:50.940I think that ultimately, for me, ended up being the primary lesson of the Epstein story, regardless of individual bickering over the facts.
00:45:57.900The fact that, you know, you had somebody who was indisputably arrested and convicted for soliciting a minor for prostitution ended up being so integrated into the world's global elite.
00:46:11.920Nobody seemed to mind. So many of the people were happy to go to the island, kind of gave a glimpse of what this culture was like.
00:46:18.180And we've seen so many stories like this here. I think there's this other extremely interesting family aspect, which we don't exactly know what happened.
00:46:27.300And when I first heard the story and when I first heard you describing it, I think like a lot of people, probably intuitively, instinctively, my reaction is no family members would make up something so hideous and horrific about another member of their family.
00:46:43.120because I think most of us have, you know, quite functional families. We love our families very
00:46:47.780much. They love us and we fight. But the idea that they would just invent something so despicable
00:46:53.340like this seems so unthinkable. And yet it actually happens all the time. You know, a very
00:46:58.860close friend of mine is a lawyer who does trust in estates litigation where, you know, some rich
00:47:04.640woman dies and then her kids fight over the silverware and the money and they're all very
00:47:08.720rich but they hurl the most hideous fabricated accusations uh toward each other about money
00:47:14.880so this can happen in in a family but i think you know the fact that megan markle has been revealed1.00
00:47:21.180to be just such a i don't want to even use too strong words for her like despicable just kind
00:47:26.320of like such a sociopath you know like a vapid ethics-free climber does make it seem kind of
00:47:35.840plausible, that she would know about this and for her own interest and no one else's
00:47:40.940bury it, even if it meant that her father would continue to endanger other people?
00:47:45.760And then I guess the last question is, what about the royal family?
00:47:49.160You know, talking here about one of the richest, most powerful, most influential, prestigious
00:47:53.160institutions, as you've said, they already have a lot of scandal.
00:47:56.400Don't you think that if somebody like Meghan Markle is marrying into this family, someone
00:48:01.180who's kind of an outsider, unlikely to be chosen to be so central when she marries Prince Harry,
00:48:07.820that they would do their own very extensive investigation into her family as well. And
00:48:12.440it seems like it would also be a question, not just what Meghan Markle knew, but also what would
00:48:16.760the what did did the royal family and its institutions know about this?
00:48:22.580It's a great point. It's a very good point, because what are the odds that this Metropolitan
00:48:28.000and police and Office of Royal Services didn't tell the actual royals what their son had married
00:48:36.080into. Again, this appears to have come out in the summer of 2018. They got married in April or May.
00:48:40.840So they were already married at this point. And by the way, how would they know? Like,
00:48:46.980what was that letter and that investigation based on? Who knew? What was the lead? Who else
00:48:56.180has known about this and how, because the sun just found these boxes, like within the past
00:49:05.46010 days from the sound of it, or at least the past month. So who knew what back in 2018 and
00:49:12.420what the hell has been done about it for eight years, Glenn? I mean, I realize if you're the
00:49:18.820Metropolitan Police and he's not in your jurisdiction, you're like, this isn't exactly
00:49:22.200my problem. But you certainly have an obligation to children to make some phone calls to your
00:49:29.700counterparts in Mexico, where he was living at the time, and potentially in America,
00:49:36.320where he'd been living for most of his life. And that's where his citizenship is.
00:49:40.880Well, also, I mean, it may not be their jurisdiction. And of course, it's not. But
00:49:43.780this isn't just some like random woman coming around with some family problems. Again,1.00
00:49:49.300This is a woman who she's marrying, not some like ancillary fourth cousin, you know, of Prince Charles, now King Charles.
00:50:01.220And I just don't believe that if somebody is going to be brought into the family that way in any capacity, let alone that central, that they don't do an extreme background check.
00:50:10.640I will say, you know, when you have a story like this, and I guess the discovery, as we understand it, was made in this case shortly before her wedding.
00:50:19.420When you talk about people who, you know.
00:50:37.660So, you know, Meghan Markle, you know, was basically, you know, like a C-list actress, if that. And now she's marrying into one of the most, you know, wealthiest, endlessly resourced institutions on the planet.0.93
00:50:51.480And I do think you start to get hangers on who start plotting like, hey, maybe if I invent a story, there's a way to extract money.
00:50:58.380So I'm not saying this all should be assumed to be true, that the father did everything he's been accused of.
00:51:04.760But given the gravity of the allegations and the fact that it's not just coming from some random letter writer, it's coming from someone very close to his son and people in that family.
00:51:15.840How did they not immediately stop everything that they're doing and make it their number one priority to determine whether or not this person actually is guilty of these crimes, not only to protect themselves and their institution and everyone in it, but also if it's true, it means there's a very dangerous, sinister child predator walking around on the streets when very powerful people and institutions know that there's at least credible claims that he's guilty.
00:51:42.520it's it's so mystifying and any answer she tries to give as you aptly pointed out will end up being
00:51:48.240contradictory to the other answer this is not over by a long shot we will be right back glenn

01:05:21.100And then the story started to come out about how badly she was treating people behind closed0.91
01:05:25.040doors at the palace, how mean she was to Kate, how her behavior around the wedding and her staff0.54
01:05:31.320leaving, you know, one after the other, which is a trend that has continued to this day out in
01:05:35.540Montecito. She can't keep a PR person. She can't keep an assistant and so on reportedly, um, that1.00
01:05:40.680she, like, she can't stand it. She, she was out there like they were complaining about, you know,
01:05:47.660Harry complained about that one absolutely disgusting racist comment. It was, I'm trying0.62
01:05:54.360to remember it forgive me but it had something to do with about the baby about the baby it was
01:05:58.980or some notes i can't remember that was about their baby it was about her but it was going to
01:06:04.420be the race of the baby like when they were when she was pregnant well no that's a separate issue
01:06:08.500okay this was an actual racist comment that brought up monkeys in the context of his wife or
01:06:14.360their expected child i don't remember forgive me but i remember it was it was one comment and it
01:06:19.900was horrific obviously nobody would ever defend such a thing but harry had to elevate it he had
01:06:26.300to like keep repeating it and keep citing it as like the evidence that everyone's racist who's
01:06:31.660against my wife all these people who criticize her are raging racists look at this one comment
01:06:37.060and you and i both know like okay i as a woman you as a gay man we could in two seconds scan0.82
01:06:45.220our mentions and find tons of sexist or homophobic slurs. There's ones right now that are being said
01:06:51.100about us this very second. I mean, this is part of having a public platform. Yes, we don't elevate
01:06:58.240them and like come out and be like, once again, the unfair, terrible, you know, press and the
01:07:03.460online trolling. And she says, I'm the most bullied person in the world. Like, come on. You know,
01:07:09.640as you say, if you're a public person, you're going to get trolled. You're going to get repeatedly
01:07:12.820attacked you have to get a thick skin but they these two refuse to develop one yeah and you
01:07:18.760would think like they're gigantic piles of money and all the palaces that they have and their
01:07:22.960worldwide fame and the private jets and the access that they go everywhere and all the like pointless
01:07:27.420awards that they get would in some way compensate for the fact that a few straight people here and
01:07:31.860there say things about them that are unpleasant but it's like people with this kind of personality
01:07:36.340cannot stand that there's anyone who it's so it's such malignant narcissism to not be able to stand
01:07:43.360that somebody somewhere said something unpleasant toward you or doesn't like you and you have to
01:07:48.300turn it into a worldwide scandal that becomes like the need for all of us to look at her and
01:07:53.580feel bad for her when 99.99% of the people have problems a zillion times worse it's just it's1.00
01:08:00.560such a sick narcissism that drives her. Yes. Honestly, like we, we just found out0.69
01:08:06.660that a dear friend of ours has got this absolutely debilitating disease and is, is it, it, the
01:08:12.520prognosis is very dim and it, this, a young guy like that. There are people out there with real
01:08:18.980problems. You know, it's like, just stop, like just stop with the nonsense. No one gives a shit.
01:08:24.640You don't need to rehabilitate yourself on why you chose not to be with this family member. And0.99
01:08:29.020And by the way, for people like me, and I would say I'm a big critic of Meghan Markle's, that's never even been a main line of attack on her.
01:08:39.720It's the stuff you and I are discussing, how thin-skinned she is.1.00
01:08:42.700Like, the woe-is-me victimhood, the ridiculous, you know, reality show where she tried to be a Martha Stewart, which we all know she wasn't.0.99
01:08:50.320You know, the stupid woke language about centering joy.0.99
01:08:53.620All of that stuff is very alienating.0.99
01:08:58.000It was a BBC journalist who had been, who was fired for using a picture of a chimpanzee in a tweet about the royal baby born to Meghan.0.82
01:09:18.680It's like, most of us ignore them and move on with our lives.
01:09:22.160You know, it's like, we don't elevate, like the thing with the guy on the vest, but like, we're under attack.
01:09:27.260he's, there's just the word, just, just all about safety. Get to the next garage. There's one dude
01:09:31.520on a Vespa. Calm down. So here we go again. It's that same instinct that made her, I mean,
01:09:38.400seriously step in a landmine today. This was a very, very dumb thing to do. Um, okay, let's keep1.00
01:09:43.520going. The Ilhan Omar case, the latest today, I want to tell the audience because we've been
01:09:50.420following this closely here, Glenn, is Janine Pirro. The DOJ released a legal filing that calls
01:09:59.440her not Ilhan Omar, but Ilhan, I always forget to say the whole thing, but it's Ilhan Nur Saeed
01:10:06.360Elmi, which appears to be her actual name. And they referred to her as Ilhan Nur Saeed Elmi,
01:10:12.920aka Ilhan Omar, in a DOJ filing that was just submitted in the court in response to a media
01:10:19.520application to unseal the search warrant. And then Janine Pirro went on with Jesse
01:10:24.960Waters on Fox News last night and confirmed that that's that's her real name, according
01:10:31.100to Janine Pirro. Stop four. Her real name is Ilhan Nur Saeed Elmi.0.82
01:10:37.780And that name is almost identical to the name of the guy she married. Is that what is tipping
01:10:47.960you off? Well, obviously, Jesse, I'm not going to tell you what's tipping us off. What we're
01:10:54.300concerned about is whether or not she has followed the laws as it relates to the use of these names.
01:11:01.860And it's kind of like in Romeo and Juliet. Remember the Capulets and the Montagues?
01:11:07.220It matters not who you are, but who you are not.
01:11:10.780okay i appreciate the reference to shakespeare on fox news you don't see that every day
01:11:19.040um now jonathan turley respected law professor george washington um law he was on as well last
01:11:27.140night and said the following in stop 4b well it's very significant and the fact is that you have to
01:11:33.940have your real name on passports, on filings for official offices as a member of Congress.
01:11:42.740All of those types of filings come with a representation that they are true and accurate,
01:11:48.340and that can create potential legal problems. The question is whether she could be stripped0.94
01:11:54.600of her citizenship. That would obviously mean she couldn't be a member of Congress.0.73
01:11:58.640But also, it's true that if she was elected on false pretenses, if she violated federal election law, that would also put her seat in danger.
01:12:08.100We just don't know. Representative Omar has the ability to put many of these things to rest.
01:12:12.660She's had that ability for years, and she really has done nothing but give these denials without offering anything to put them to rest.
01:15:06.700She's been a U.S. citizen for 25 years since, since 2000.
01:15:10.240And let me just ask you, did you like, do you actually think Glenn, you know, very well, if she was not naturalized lawfully, she can't be a U.S. Congress person. Article one of the Constitution makes that perfectly clear.
01:15:20.500Absolutely. No, of course, you have to be you have to be a U.S. citizen one way or the other. You have to be a natural born citizen or a naturalized citizen.
01:15:27.180And that's that's I agree with that completely. But what do you do? Let's just get real for a second.
01:15:33.540If if if Ilhan Omar were instead of being a left wing Democrat, highly critical of Donald Trump and being one of the people who uses woke language and accuses everybody of racism and supports Palestine so aggressively had instead been a Republican supporter of Donald Trump and the general Trump agenda.
01:15:48.580Do you do you really think the Trump administration would be digging back with all the illegal immigration cases?
01:15:53.880We have the violent immigration issues going back 25, 26 years to try and find out whether or not these rumors that have been around right wing politics forever are really valid and spending the resources to try and remove her from Congress.0.87
01:16:06.600A very popular congresswoman who's been repeatedly reelected by her own district.
01:16:14.280I think if she had just done that, like if she had just had an improper naturalization and that was the end of it, then no. But the case against Ilhan Omar is appearing to me. They've kept it all under seal and they're not speaking much about it.
01:16:27.220So this is all what I've gleaned involves multiple incidents of immigration fraud.
01:16:33.240So what they appear to be getting ready to allege is that she came over that her name was not Ilhan Omar, that it was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, that she came over with her sister and I believe her father, that her brother and her other sister, Layla, stayed in the UK, the brother that she would eventually marry, that they lied and said that they were Omars because the Omar family was getting refugee status.
01:16:55.700And so they claimed these three as part of their family and said that they were Omar's instead of Elmi's, which was unlawful.
01:17:04.840The father's naturalization would have been unlawful.
01:17:07.800And then Ilan's naturalization would have been unlawful as well.
01:17:11.600They also may have changed her birth date because even under the, you know, potentially legal scheme of, okay, we're going to give you refugee status.
01:17:19.080She needed to be under 18 and it looks like she was 17.
01:17:21.880Her team went back after the fact to change her birth date in the official records, which seems very sketchy.
01:18:06.280Just to be clear, so what you're saying, there's an aspect of this case that is about her obtaining her citizenship illegally.
01:18:13.540And then once she got illegal immigration, you can sponsor people.
01:18:16.820if you marry someone as a citizen, they become citizens. You're saying she engaged in fraudulent
01:18:20.660behavior to get other people's citizenship as well, including what you say is her brother.
01:18:24.460That's her brother. No, no, I get it. I'm just trying to make sure I understand your argument.
01:18:28.100At least. And then it looks like, I mean, then every passport application she filled out would
01:18:33.040have been unlawful. Any marriage benefit that she saw with the brother would have been unlawful,
01:18:37.200like multiple felonies. She's she would have had to certify under oath the name of the person that
01:18:45.040she was marrying and so on, all of which she would have had to certify. She did. She did.
01:18:49.860In 2017, she swore under penalty of perjury while divorcing Elmi, the brother, that she
01:18:56.700had zero contact with him since 2011. And she had no clue on how to find him. She was claiming
01:19:01.280basically abandonment in 2017. They married back in 2009. And by 2011, she was claiming abandonment.
01:19:08.420He was no longer in the picture. And she was having a baby with her real husband, who's the
01:19:13.120Muslim guy she married years before, though not in a legal ceremony, just in a Muslim one.0.92
01:19:17.160So this was a lie. She did have contact with her brother. She did know how to find him. And I0.76
01:19:21.840believe she committed perjury then. The violations are, there's so many, Glenn, and it may have gone
01:19:28.500beyond that, including with the sister. But some of them have statute of limitations problems,
01:19:31.060right? I mean, some of them must have statute of limitations problems. Agreed. Yes, they do
01:19:35.460absolutely have statute of limitations problems. And so that's been one of our big questions is
01:19:39.620because if there was a more current violation something she swore under penalties of perjury
01:19:44.720about her name about her marriage about her immigration status then they may have her there
01:19:49.500was also mentioned by brian kilmeade on fox and friends that this could potentially be a rico case
01:19:53.240based on a source that had told him that which would revive otherwise dead claims um so you can
01:20:00.040have dead felonies because of the statute of limitations that get revived under rico which is
01:20:04.400a more, it's an umbrella claim of racketeering conspiracy where you're like a crime boss,
01:20:09.700you've committed so many crimes and they don't go, they don't need to prove that they're within
01:20:13.200the statute of limitations only that Rico has to be. So I think it's the multitude of flagrant
01:20:20.600immigration violations. And you mark my words, there is no doubt she married the brother. And0.99
01:20:25.900I mean, you are too smart to have accepted that line with Chris Hayes, not to my knowledge.
01:20:32.240there's no way that didn't raise your no no i know i get that all i want but i think it's
01:20:38.280important that we're getting clarity now because i know just from you know being around right-wing
01:20:41.640discourse that for a long time the argument was we have to deport her because she got citizenship
01:20:46.760by marrying her brother and and that's not actually the claim the claim is she married
01:20:50.380her brother after she got citizenship but anyway let me just say this and and you you know very
01:20:55.100well that this is the thing i say in every case for every party for every type of person of any
01:20:59.800politics, and you do too. I do get uncomfortable with trial by leak in media. And right now,
01:21:05.860the information is in the hands of the Trump Justice Department. It's being leaked to a lot
01:21:09.380of right-wing outlets. I'm not saying all. I'm not saying all of this is a lie. I'm just saying
01:21:13.980when you have what is on its surface a politically charged prosecution, meaning the people who are
01:21:22.080prosecuting are on one political side, the people they're targeting on the other, I do think heightened
01:21:26.420skepticism is required. I'm not saying disbelieve it all. It's all lie. Leave Ileana Omer alone.
01:21:31.340She's, you know, subject to the laws like anybody else's. And if she committed whatever crimes,1.00
01:21:35.580including trying to get into the country, that's a legitimate source of scrutiny. Let's just
01:21:39.460remember, she got to the country when she was 17. She got citizenship, depending on the birthday,
01:21:44.600when she was 17 or 18. Glenn, your facts are outdated. It's become clear to me. She got to
01:21:50.980the country when she was 12 back in 1995 and then five years later or 13. We don't know which,
01:21:56.420because that's the one of the disputes because five years later, was she 17 or 18? But she did
01:22:00.680not get here when she was 17. She got here when she was 12 or 13. Five years later, she was
01:22:05.060naturalized derivatively when her father got naturalized. Allegedly. But are you aware that
01:22:11.180A.J. Kemp, who ran against Ilhan Omar for a state representative back in the primary, I should say,
01:22:16.960for the federal congressional seat, went to DHS and Citizenship and Immigration Services and
01:22:24.240FOIA'd the naturalization papers for the father and they responded, no record found. They could
01:22:30.920not find any record of the dad's naturalization. Now we had on a reporter for Alpha News who's been
01:22:37.100all over this story since 2016. She did not think that naturalization was going to be difficult to
01:22:42.220prove. She actually told our audience, I think they're going to be able to prove that. The
01:22:46.020Washington Post also said that. So I don't know what happened in the case of AJ Kempt and why she
01:22:51.460has and she's made them public on the internet she does have a certificate of not no record
01:22:56.240from dhs when it comes to the dad's naturalization so it is possible there was no naturalization
01:23:00.980which would mean ilan has none since hers was purely derivative and it's also possible it was
01:23:05.540given but it was given under false pretenses that possible were essentially fraudulent which would
01:23:09.080undo it possible i'm saying look glenn here's my point i just want to say something this is not
01:23:13.380this is not our our no our reporting has not been based on leaks from the dj the only thing i'm
01:23:17.860mentioning that about is what Brian Kilmeade heard, that this could potentially be a RICO case.
01:23:21.960The facts around Ilhan Omar are not in any case coming from the government. They've kept their
01:23:27.280lips sealed on this. And trust me, I have government sources, so I can speak to you on
01:23:30.900that. This is coming from investigations that have been done by actual shoe leather reporting
01:23:36.660from 2016 to now. People like Scott Johnson, people like our guest the other day, Preya,
01:23:41.920People like this great reporter David Steinberg, who's been on the Omar case for now almost 11 years, who have pulled social media posts between Ilhan Omar, her sister Layla, their brother Ahmed, who she married, liking each other's birth of the children.
01:23:58.160That's him holding up Ilhan's niece, saying fresh out of the vagina that he's that's her husband calling Ilhan's baby his niece, because that's in fact what this baby is to him.
01:24:09.720It's not his baby. It's her baby with the first husband, the Muslim guy.0.91
01:24:14.320There's just today, there's David Steinberg has resurrected a piece of journalism he did in 2018 about Ahmed and his schooling.
01:24:23.920And he points out that on Ilhan Omar's 2009 marriage document to Ahmed Nur Saeed Almi and her 2017 divorce proceedings, she states that that husband, Ahmed Nur Saeed Almi, was born on April 4th, 1985.
01:24:38.940That he went back to the American high school that Ahmed N. Elmi was enrolled in as a senior in the in the class of 2003 at Arlington Senior High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, from September 2002 through June 2003.
01:24:55.340He graduated, received a diploma. That guy was born on April 4th, 1985. So this is the official
01:25:03.840high school record of Ahmed Noor Saeed Elmi. Both her brother and her husband have exactly the same
01:25:11.020name and the same birth date, Glenn. The same name and the same birth date. And he's all over
01:25:16.960the internet holding up her baby saying, meet my niece. And he celebrates Layla's, who's her sister,
01:25:23.020birth of their baby as his nieces, who Elon has also called publicly her niece.
01:25:28.240They've since scrubbed the social media, but these intrepid reporters already grabbed the
01:25:32.020screen grabs and have them. So it's like the jig is up. This is a family that split. She married
01:25:37.340the brother to get him a green card. And when he tried to get his green card to go from temporary
01:25:41.300to permanent, they asked for more information about his obviously sham marriage. He withdrew
01:25:45.900the request. Okay. Well, I, I, I'm not going to, and to be perfectly honest, I can't sit here and
01:25:51.840litigate each one of these facts with you, in part because this has been investigated primarily
01:25:57.020by people who are, and this doesn't mean they're bad journalists. In fact, there are huge numbers
01:26:01.300of good journalists on the right, but people who are interested in Ilia Noemar because they
01:26:04.220dislike her politically, not saying that impugns the reporting. I'm just saying that's true. So
01:26:07.800it hasn't been a lot of people focusing on this, including me. Let me just add a couple of facts.
01:26:11.940You may think they're irrelevant. She got here when she was 12 or 13. Her family entered the
01:26:16.620country legally. There's no doubt about that. I'm not saying you've disputed that. I'm just
01:26:19.980pointing that out they got here on an asylum claim the issue about there's there's some there's
01:26:24.940some debate if they change the name if they if they came if they were if only the omars were
01:26:28.740getting refugee status or asylum and they glommed on the elmys glommed on and claimed falsely that
01:26:34.080they were omars in order to piggyback onto this then then there is a question because her dad
01:26:39.040may have been working for uh a warlord in somalia to whom we would never have given refugee status
01:26:44.300So that that is in contest. OK, OK. And I believe she got citizenship through her father when she was either 17 or 18, which is one of the interesting question.
01:26:56.040And yes, we also went through the whole first. Trump term, four years where this was not uncovered or unearthed or investigated.
01:27:04.620And so all I'm saying to you and I'm not defending Elian Omar, I'm not saying she was innocent, in part because I don't have the facts and in part because I'd want to wait to see like an adversarial investigation.
01:27:13.900of this first, like I've said in the Cornell case and a zillion of other things. But all I'm saying
01:27:18.340here is that this this is a very old case. And it just so happens to be that the target is one of
01:27:26.020Trump's most hated opponents. He said probably more about Ileana. But we cannot have a non-citizen
01:27:31.720serving in the U.S. Congress. It's a hard no. No, but I don't think anybody I mean, nobody thinks
01:27:39.260that a non-U.S. citizen can be serving or should be serving in the U.S. Congress. The question
01:27:43.860is, and it's certainly my question is, let's wait until there's like, and I'm not saying you
01:27:48.300shouldn't cover it. Everybody's covering it. That's totally legitimate. For me, I'm going to
01:27:51.780wait until I see a kind of fuller scale investigation. Right now, it's been journalists
01:27:56.880on the right doing their jobs, pursuing a case. But you don't know any of these facts. You're not
01:28:00.080looking. I don't think you're interested because you didn't know any of the stuff I just told you.
01:28:03.540You had no idea about those social media posts. You don't know what the names of the siblings in
01:28:07.080the UK are. You don't know when they came over here. You haven't been paying attention because
01:28:10.080this is not your story. No, I'm the one who said that. I'm like, look, I can't litigate these facts
01:28:14.840because I don't know them well enough to be able to litigate them with you. But I do know that this
01:28:19.000has been a huge interest on the right for a long time, in part because the right hates Elian Omar.
01:28:24.440That doesn't mean she's innocent, but I would just like to see this play out in a justice.
01:28:29.340She's not even been charged yet. So let's see what happens as the due process evolves and which of
01:28:35.780these claims are valid. That's all I'm saying. I hope that's not controversial. But you're right.
01:28:39.660I'm not here to say, hey, I'm the expert on the Ilhan Omar case.
01:28:42.560So let me tell you what really happened.
01:28:43.740I admitted from the start, I can't litigate this case with you because I haven't defended
01:33:54.940You know that as well as anyone that say you do interviews.
01:33:57.080I shouldn't have probably announced it because it's not 100 percent confirmed, but very close to it.
01:34:00.720So, yeah, I'll be going back and listening to our segment and writing down all your information.
01:34:06.480Honestly, Glenn, I said to the audience yesterday, I was so annoyed watching the Chris Hayes interview because and I was pointing out when I interviewed Hegseth prior to his confirmation.
01:34:13.440And I had to confront him about this rape allegation that I defended him on on this program.
01:34:17.960I did not believe the rape allegation.
01:34:19.540I went through the complaint, you know, and but then when I when I had him, I had to do
01:47:35.920It's not like Netanyahu is running against, you know, Zoran Mandami.
01:47:40.240I mean, all the people who may win, if not Netanyahu, feel pretty much the same way he
01:47:44.900does about Iran, about Gaza. It's not like these are any real differences for Israel. They have a
01:47:50.400lot of disputes domestically. I think what J.D. Vance said is, you know, vice presidents are
01:47:56.280always in a little bit of a difficult position because he wants to run in 2028. But in order to
01:48:01.260do that, he can't have Trump opposed to him. But he also doesn't want to link himself to things
01:48:06.500that Trump believes that he thinks will be harmful to him or that he doesn't believe. This was clearly
01:48:10.360a case. And so we appeal to the America first view, which is like, look, this isn't my role
01:48:15.860as vice president to tell Israelis who they should elect as their president. And like standing alone,
01:48:22.420I think that makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? Like, why should J.D. Vance or Trump be involved
01:48:27.860in and focused on Israeli politics? They were elected to represent the American people. And
01:48:33.500that's what makes that Fox panel so bizarre. If you don't endorse and support Netanyahu,
01:48:40.360you're anti-israel more than half of the israelis don't he's probably going to lose he's favored to
01:48:45.780lose most israelis don't like netanyahu so how does that make you anti-netanyahu it's not even
01:48:52.900like he's opposed to him he's just saying i won't endorse him uh yeah i'm sorry anti-israel and also
01:48:58.880you know this whole thing an unforced error like why is it an unforced error you think americans
01:49:02.920sitting in the united states for the most part are the ones who are caring about i want to make
01:49:07.200sure J.D. Vance is helping Netanyahu when they want J.D. Vance helping them and their families,
01:49:11.480not Netanyahu. But in Fox News world, it's just so secondary that you love and revere Israel.
01:49:19.260Yeah, no, that's true. It was very interesting, too, because it's like I was listening to the0.56
01:49:24.660Daily Podcast, I think it was yesterday, and they took a dive into that election and what the issues
01:49:30.360are. And it was like, I didn't know. One of the big issues is, I guess, ultra-conservative
01:49:36.740Jews in Israel don't have to serve in the military. And the other Israelis are mad.0.96
01:49:46.040They're fed up with it. And they want they they basically collect all these tax benefits from1.00
01:49:52.000everybody else. And they don't serve in the military like everybody else. And they want
01:49:56.760to bring an end to that. And there's also a lot of anger toward Netanyahu over 10-7 because these
01:50:02.400reports came out that he knew he was notified that it was going to happen. And they felt like
01:50:08.080his one big thing was always he was going to keep Israel safe. And he didn't do that. So it's like,
01:50:11.780look, these these are issues that the Israeli people are going to have to decide. But it's like
01:50:15.280it's a good point. Like, why why does our vice president have to say anything about it? He
01:50:18.860doesn't have to say anything about it. And it's smart politics not to say anything about it.
01:50:22.860Right. And I don't think Fox News would be angry if he refused to comment on, say,
01:50:26.560who should win in Indonesia or who should win in like Uruguay. You know, why does Israel always1.00
01:50:32.540have this like special sacred status? And like I said, it's not like J.D. Vance said, hey, let's
01:50:37.860cut off all of the weapons made to Israel and never have anything to do with them again. He just said
01:50:42.940like, I don't think it's appropriate for me to get involved and endorse one of the candidates.
01:50:47.940And somehow they interpreted that and they wanted to kind of say anti-Semitic since that's been
01:50:52.180brewing about J.D. Vance as well. They didn't quite go that far, but it was like a sinister
01:50:56.100implication that somehow his refusal to endorse Netanyahu was indicative of something darker
01:51:01.680lurking. And there were so many bothersome assumptions embedded in what and how they reacted.
01:51:09.600To me, it was indicative of where things are going in the next year and two years,
01:51:15.940which is like the Fox News brigade is definitely going to be behind someone not named J.D. Vance.
01:51:23.100J.D. is not going to get the support of Fox News.
01:51:26.680Even if Trump endorses him, you think even if Trump endorses J.D. Vance, Fox News will be opposed?
01:51:33.760Yes. Yes. Yes. One hundred percent. I believe that. I think they will want Marco or in the longer discussion I heard them just the other day.
01:51:40.340We're talking about who's going to be the president or who are going to be the people running for president.
01:51:43.960And they were like, you know, J.D., Marco. And one of the anchors was like, don't forget Ted Cruz.
01:51:49.560Ted Cruz is definitely going to run Ted Cruz. Like Ted Cruz has zero, zero chance of becoming the Republican nominee.
01:51:55.440Zero. But they made sure to mention his name because, you know, he's as pro-Israel as they come.
01:52:01.120It's very clear to me Fox will get behind the most pro-Israel one who can win.
01:52:06.000And J.D. will be left with the rest, you know, sort of the non-Israel Republicans.
01:52:13.680And it's going to be very, very interesting to see who wins control of the party, because
01:52:17.860whoever is the actual nominee will will have control of the party and then we'll see whether
01:52:37.400Right. But I also I think he has the best argument because Trump rebranded the Republican Party
01:52:42.680America first. And there's no reason J.D. Vance has to ever say a word critical of Israel.
01:52:48.620This is actually something like El Saeed has been doing and Mandami and other Democrats.
01:52:52.660I think just giving them whatever your view of them as a side politically effectively.
01:52:56.320You know, the big moment in Mandami's campaign that even a lot of people on the right cheered
01:53:00.600was when they asked every candidate, what's the first country you're going to go visit?
01:53:04.000They all said, Israel, Israel, Israel. That was good. Domi said, I'm going to stay here and focus on our citizens, including Jews in New York, because that's what I'm.
01:53:12.640And I think that's a winning line. Like, you know, he doesn't have to advance oppose Israel.
01:53:17.480He can just say we should work with Israel when it's in our interest when it's not.
01:53:21.520You know, that's fine. And we don't have to. But our focus should be on the interests of the American people and not this like devotion to Israel independent of that.0.80
01:53:28.780And I think that's a winning argument since conservative voters are primed to think of themselves as America first.
01:53:34.680It's very good. Very, very smart. Yes, he should listen to you.
01:53:38.360OK, so the lady, the sex podcaster over at the Call Her Daddy podcast.1.00
01:53:45.840I mean, just absolute filth coming out of that mouth and that production filth on every front.0.98
01:53:52.740I mean, just absolutely nothing redeeming is being produced from that set.0.52
01:53:57.060And the latest example is she had on actress Sophia Bush, who I have to be honest, I had no idea who Sophia Bush was.
01:54:06.000But this clip caught my attention because of just how ridiculous it was and offensive and what just how terrible the advice was.0.71
01:54:16.140Turns out Sophia Bush is 44 years old.0.62
01:54:18.840She played Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill, which I have seen, but I don't remember her.
01:54:23.500I've only seen episodes here or there because my daughter watched it.
01:54:27.060Just so you know, as you watch this clip, she's had three marriages.
01:54:30.700One was to Chad Michael Murray, who was also in One Tree Hill, and Gilmore Girls.
01:55:15.640And I think that's such a beautiful message to leave women with, because I do think we
01:55:19.620can get really, really in our heads about, oh, my God, I feel like I'm maybe I shouldn't
01:55:25.400leave this marriage because can I even get better? And the answer is always yes. The answer is always
01:55:31.840yes. And this idea that it's too late or you're too old or who are you to want more? That's
01:55:38.340patriarchy. That is crazy. We don't need it. Okay. So can I do better? Should I leave this
01:55:47.640marriage? The answer is always yes. These two nimrods would like you to know, Glenn.
01:55:53.460you know uh i i just i i don't understand what this show even is because it's a bunch of people1.00
01:56:04.280who have no apparent credentials to do anything other than act you know it's not i mean they're
01:56:12.620like actors who are very not but they don't get those kind of people they get people to come on
01:56:17.260and talk about every time I hear these clips kind of about the like most tawdry aspects of their
01:56:23.840sexual and intimate lives that aren't informative that are they're just being done for like shock
01:56:27.560value almost and when it comes to marriage you know we've had a lot of debate about marriage
01:56:33.100we changed the conventions of it not just over you know gay couples but also you know divorce
01:56:37.280used to be extremely uh ostracized and and and and difficult and we've loosened that you know
01:56:43.640ronald reagan was the first elected uh divorced uh a person to ever be elected but we've gotten
01:56:50.340to the point where and it's bizarre to me when you hear people say it to say you know what like
01:56:54.420you were kind of annoyed in the marriage and things aren't working just just leave just go
01:56:57.940to the next one it's like what is the point of marriage you know to me one of the most beautiful
01:57:02.980things of marriage is it's never easy it's never easy to bring two complicated adults together and
01:57:08.520especially in this world and have you form a family and a marriage and kids and the like
01:57:12.740the, what the foundation of it is, is that you commit to, to, to, to creating love and building
01:57:18.060lives together. And this, what I just heard is like, yeah, the minute, you know, you feel like
01:57:23.060you're a little bit unsatisfied, just pick up and leave. You're not the slave of the husband.
01:57:27.740Can I get even better? And the answer is always yes. I mean, that's just, you know, that's just
01:57:35.460a recipe for either dying with like 14 husbands or, you know, just never having the slightest
01:57:43.460amount of loyalty or commitment to your relationships, who think, and I know you guys
01:57:47.160were, I was on your vows, your sins key show. And we talked about your conversation with her about
01:57:50.960this show, call her dowdy and the effect on the Cornell case. This is the same thing. It's like
01:57:55.540encouraging women to just have a life of constant instability, constant promiscuity,1.00
01:58:00.360no commitment of any kind because all of it's oppressive like who do you think that's going to
01:58:06.100lead to you know what this made me think of that this this made me think of jordan peterson who
01:58:11.960he always raises such good questions when women talk like this like what about you what what did1.00
01:58:19.760you do to cause the marriage to be less than satisfactory to where you're sitting there0.99
01:58:25.300wondering, can I do better? Maybe you are the problem in the relationship. Why is it all about
01:58:31.840you and whether you can do better? It's just so, it's narcissistic. It's short-sighted. It takes
01:58:38.100no responsibility for a woman's role in the partnership. And you do wonder how these two
01:58:43.900idiots would be reacting if it were two guys, like sitting on Joe Rogan, being like, when I sit1.00
01:58:49.580around, you know, the guys, the husbands, and we think, can we do better? The answer is always yes,1.00
01:58:54.280leave her move on yes you can always do better younger one get the next younger and they're0.83
01:58:59.760younger bigger tits and we don't really think it's noble you know like i i don't understand0.74
01:59:05.860what this it's not even a philosophy it's just pure libertinism you know just pure instant0.98
01:59:11.300gratification wrapped up as some kind of enlightenment and i do i'm far from moralist
01:59:16.840like as far as you get but i think this kind of thing is doing a lot of damage the like the
01:59:20.980centerpiece of our happiness is our families. And this is a very, you know, destroy your own family
01:59:26.120the minute there's a problem message to it. And if anyone's going to be happy following that message,
01:59:31.080I have not yet met them. I mean, as we've been saying, do not follow this podcast for anything
01:59:36.740enriching in your life. You will be a worse, you'll be an unhappy, dumber version of yourself.1.00
01:59:43.660Glenn, a pleasure. Thank you so much for being with us. Always great to see you, Megan. Thanks0.99
01:59:47.400for having me. Love you pod father to be continued. Um, all right. I'm just going to continue it for
01:59:54.100a minute because I want to tell you about this Sophia Bush. Um, this is just so arrogant. Can I0.93
01:59:59.200get, can I, and I wonder, uh, should I, I feel like maybe I shouldn't leave this marriage because
02:00:07.020can I get even better? And the answer is always yes. And then that Bush agrees. The answer is
02:00:13.460always yes. It's always yes. Leave your marriage. Do it. If you're wondering if you can do better,
02:00:20.120the answer is yes. Except what if it's not? Honestly, what if it's not? A lot of marriages
02:00:25.960go through highs and lows. Who was it? Was it Dr. Joyce Brothers who said something like,
02:00:33.540the secret to staying married for 70 years was we never fell out of love at the same time.
02:00:38.240Something like that. It was a very clever line. But all marriages have highs and lows. And because
02:00:43.200you may have a moment of wonder whether you could have gotten even better does not mean you should
02:00:49.060leave your marriage. What about your vows? What about your commitment? Like if you're chronically
02:00:54.360unhappy or you realize that you've made a terrible mistake, that you're not compatible with this
02:00:58.180person, that there's no way you guys should reproduce together and so on, of course people
02:01:02.380get out of marriages. And I ended my first marriage and managed to do so gracefully. My
02:01:09.320first husband and I are still friends. His life is wonderful. He has a beautiful new family.
02:01:15.180And obviously this is all 20 years ago, but so I'm not trying to moralize on this issue. People do
02:01:21.220leave marriages for reasons other than, you know, abuse, et cetera. Um, but the willy nilliness of
02:01:28.160this, we did not end our first marriage willy nilly. There were, we had tons and tons of talks
02:01:32.320over it. And I was in therapy, intensive therapy for more than a year and so on. But my point is
02:01:37.400simply like, this is once again, terrible messaging for young women that if you're
02:01:41.860sitting around asking, can I get better? The answer is always yes. Fuck off. That's generally
02:01:48.060not true, honestly. And like, as a woman ages, you know, what do you think? Like0.94
02:01:53.180even less few, less options out there, fewer options out there for women to select from.0.96
02:02:00.840And this kind of advice only endangers them. That's all it does. That's all that show does.
02:02:06.500So this Sophia Bush, she's a charlatan, clearly. She got married to the second husband there, the one that lasted 13 months. And she decided, she told Vogue, that when she got engaged to this guy, she said,0.90
02:02:21.860when I thought about that spotlight that the engagement was going to cause for her,
02:02:25.960my activist brain turned on. Global attention is a hell of a platform. And as someone who doesn't1.00
02:02:31.740love attention, but does love collective activism, I knew that this could be an incredible moment to
02:02:37.720spin the privilege of attention. So I looked at Grant and I said, honey, I think we should get
02:02:42.900married in Tulsa. He blinked. Oklahoma? He asked. Yup. Imagine what we could do if we turned our
02:02:50.120wedding into an event to showcase Tulsa, the cultural renaissance happening there, tech,
02:02:55.240philanthropy, civil rights, justice, the art, the leadership. We could focus all this attention and
02:03:00.560turn the spotlight on them. And then during their actual wedding weekend down there, guests
02:03:04.860were, they went on a walking tour of historic Greenwood, the black neighborhood destroyed in
02:03:10.0601921 that included talks from community leaders, stops by a black owned business. And so, I mean,
02:03:15.680you get the picture of who this woman is. Okay. So she hates attention. That's what she told Vogue.
02:03:21.580I do not love attention. We just took a quick look at her Instagram pictures of herself at the Oscars0.95
02:03:27.200at the NAACP awards with Malala, with Kamala Harris. Oh, but turn those cameras away. I hate
02:03:33.660drawing attention to myself, please. Look at her with the bustier. Here I am again. Maybe with1.00
02:03:40.580Malala, you just highlight Malala. No, no, back to me. Here I am. But she hates attention. Trust
02:03:47.640her. So now she's very upset about all the blowback that she has gotten for saying, agreeing
02:03:54.960with Alex Cooper, that if you're thinking, can I get even better? The answer is always yes. And
02:03:59.520then she went on to say, it's patriarchy to be thinking otherwise. Patriarchy. Now she says,
02:04:06.260the manosphere is big mad over something one of their minions claims I said on this podcast,
02:04:11.580but their rage bait quote isn't something I said, nor did Alex. Yes, you did. Both of you did. It's
02:04:18.180right there. Play the tape. You're really telling on yourselves and how much you hate a woman with
02:04:24.160agency. Y'all, you are allowed to outgrow your life. You are allowed to be unhappy and make a0.98
02:04:29.980change. You're allowed to get what you thought you wanted and realize you don't adjust accordingly.
02:04:34.420you're a human being, not a checklist and on and on she goes. Okay. Like, like her, you could wind
02:04:39.360up with three marriages and there's no question that the third one will fail too. Um, by the time
02:04:44.800you're 44 and no children, by the way, only the most recent female partner has children who I0.54
02:04:51.400guess are now her step. Um, but she has no kids. She has two failed marriages. She's on the third.0.97
02:04:57.080She's switched genders and I guess is now changed her sexuality and, uh, hates attention except for1.00
02:05:03.260all the pictures she's posted of herself online and really wants other girls to follow in her1.00
02:05:07.700footsteps. On behalf of the Mothers of America, may I tell you, it's a no, a hard no. Okay. And
02:05:15.360we end with this, Ellen DeGeneres. Of course, she is very nasty and she masqueraded as something1.00
02:05:23.300other than that for years on her talk show. She was known as like the fun, lighthearted,1.00
02:05:29.220gay one, both gay in attitude and in actual sexuality. And all she did was dance and make0.96
02:05:37.000people happy. And that was just Ellen. Well, those of us in the biz knew that Ellen was a raging1.00
02:05:42.260bitch who her staff couldn't stand long before it broke into the public. I think I've told you1.00
02:05:50.660that I know somebody who has a very close relative who worked for Ellen, who said they were not
02:05:56.480allowed to look at her in the hallways. It was a specific edict she handed down that you were not
02:06:02.980allowed to make eye contact with her. And honestly, like if you treat all the people around you like
02:06:09.340shit, it will come back to haunt you. This is why I have people who've been working for me0.99
02:06:14.360for literally 20 years, multiple people who have been with me more than a decade, more than 20
02:06:19.260years, because when you treat people well and you show them respect, even if you're a tough boss,
02:06:24.520They enjoy working at your place of business.1.00
02:06:27.720They trust you not to be a complete asshole1.00
02:06:29.820who's gonna pull the rug out from under them1.00
02:06:31.680if they make a mistake or have a bad week, et cetera.1.00
02:06:35.080And Ellen DeGeneres was exactly the opposite.
02:06:46.260So that's why Ellen now lives in the Cotswolds1.00
02:06:49.160with Meghan Markle instead of in LA filming her talk show.1.00
02:06:52.880It ended because she got outed as a serial bully.
02:06:57.420And a former staff member of hers named Johnny Hilbrandt Partridge, who's the creator behind P.E. Guy, another show, gave an interview on a podcast called The CEO Series with William Salvey earlier this month.
