The Megyn Kelly Show - Zelensky and Euro Leaders Visit WH After Trump's Putin Summit, Baby Missing in CA： AM Update 8⧸18

00:00:00.000 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megyn Kelly. It's Monday, August 18th, 2025. And this is your

00:00:08.360 AM update. I mean, critics of President Trump are always going to find something to criticize.

00:00:12.760 You don't pay attention to it anymore. Team Trump making the rounds on Sunday,

00:00:16.320 combating Democrat and media narratives, suggesting Friday's summit with Russian

00:00:20.580 President Vladimir Putin failed. While the next step toward peace in Ukraine takes place today

00:00:26.100 at the White House in a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky and more. I fell on the floor

00:00:32.020 and I said as I got up, I couldn't find my son. Investigators unable to rule out foul play in the

00:00:41.180 disappearance of a seven-month-old California baby whose parents say he was kidnapped. And Hurricane

00:00:48.360 Aaron, the first Atlantic hurricane of 2025, on a wild ride in the Caribbean, tracking where the

00:00:55.440 powerful storm is headed next. All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.

00:01:04.160 I've been talking a lot about Riverbed Ranch lately because I love their steaks. Those Riverbed Ranch

00:01:10.080 steaks are something else. Riverbed Ranch has taken Black Angus beef to a whole new level. Did you

00:01:17.000 recently hear RFKJ, head of the Maha movement, saying really all he eats is red meat and fermented

00:01:22.780 products? Hello, Riverbed Ranch has got you covered. For the last 35 years, Riverbed Ranch has been

00:01:29.520 creating a very elite Angus herd by using ultrasound to select genetically superior cattle with a focus

00:01:36.340 on flavor and tenderness. When you buy from Riverbed Ranch, you're not only supporting the 64 cowboys and

00:01:42.260 cowgirls and their families who work on the ranch, but you're also supporting over 260 other U.S.

00:01:47.700 ranches and the hundreds of American families who work on them. It is born in the U.S.A., raised in

00:01:53.820 the U.S.A. and processed in the U.S.A. It is aged to perfection for 21 days and shipped directly from

00:01:59.860 the ranch to your home. This is not your average Black Angus beef. So order from RiverbendRanch.com.

00:02:16.460 President Trump continuing to take the lead in high-stakes diplomacy today,

00:02:20.820 meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European heads of state at

00:02:25.400 the White House, days after a landmark summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska

00:02:30.520 on Friday. Today's meeting marking Mr. Zelensky's first return to the White House since that infamous

00:02:36.620 Oval Office clash back in February. A quick reminder of how that went.

00:02:41.640 Mr. President, with respect, I think it's disrespectful for you to come into the Oval

00:02:45.040 Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media.

00:02:47.600 You're gambling with World War III, and what you're doing is very disrespectful to the country,

00:02:54.640 this country.

00:02:55.420 Have you said thank you once this entire meeting?

00:02:58.160 No, in this entire meeting, have you said thank you?

00:03:00.660 The result? Lunch canceled. A rare-earth minerals business agreement between the U.S.

00:03:05.500 and Ukraine delayed for a couple of months, potentially delaying the prospects of a peace

00:03:10.380 deal. This time around, several European leaders making the trip to Washington.

00:03:15.320 European Union Commissioner President Ursula von der Leyen, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer,

00:03:21.260 German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander

00:03:26.800 Stube, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Maloney, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutta.

00:03:32.120 President Trump expected to meet for bilateral talks with Mr. Zelensky alone before the entire

00:03:38.080 group takes part in a discussion. Sunday on CBS, Secretary of State Marco Rubio blasting

00:03:43.960 host Margaret Brennan and others in the media with similar criticism for suggesting the European

00:03:49.180 leaders are joining Mr. Zelensky to prevent President Trump from bullying the Ukrainian president

00:03:54.940 into accepting a bad deal. You know there's concern from the Europeans that President Zelensky is going

00:04:01.580 to be bullied into signing something away. That's why you have these European leaders coming as backup

00:04:06.820 tomorrow. They're not coming here tomorrow. This is such a stupid media narrative that they're coming

00:04:11.660 here tomorrow because Trump is going to bully Zelensky into a bad deal. We invited them to come. 1.00

00:04:17.400 We invited them to come. The president invited them to come. Our goal here is not to stage some

00:04:22.300 production for the world to say oh how dramatic he walked out. Our goal here is to have a peace

00:04:26.900 agreement to end this war okay. And obviously we felt and I agreed that there was enough progress not

00:04:32.400 a lot of progress but enough progress made in those talks to allow us to move to the next phase. If not we

00:04:37.880 wouldn't be having Zelensky flying all the way over here. We wouldn't be having all the Europeans 1.00

00:04:41.060 coming all the way over here. Today's White House visit follows the meeting between President Trump and

00:04:45.640 Russian President Putin on Friday. The summit beginning with a red carpet arrival on the

00:04:50.460 tarmac at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson as Presidents Trump and Putin walked to the presidential

00:04:56.480 limo for a private ride together. Mr. Trump greeting the Russian president with a show of military force

00:05:02.400 a flyover involving a B-2 stealth bomber accompanied by four F-35 jets. The B-2 considered a symbol of U.S.

00:05:11.340 military power. It can fly around the globe without stopping carrying nuclear or conventional weapons.

00:05:17.360 The same kind of bomber used by the U.S. to bomb Iranian nuclear sites in June. After about six

00:05:23.380 hours on the ground in Alaska the summit concluding with brief remarks no questions and no ceasefire

00:05:29.000 deal. However both leaders hailing the event as a positive step forward. President Trump at a brief

00:05:35.060 Friday press conference signaling future economic cooperation with Russia once the fighting stops.

00:05:40.660 And I will say that I believe we had a very productive meeting. There were many many points that we

00:05:45.920 agreed on. Most of them I would say a couple of big ones that we haven't quite got there but we've made

00:05:53.400 some headway. So there's no deal until there's a deal. It'll of course call up President Zelensky and tell him

00:06:00.780 about today's meeting. It's ultimately up to them. They're going to have to agree with what Marco and Steve and

00:06:08.000 some of the great people from the Trump administration who've come here. Scott and

00:06:12.640 John Radcliffe. We also have some tremendous Russian business representatives here and I think

00:06:18.960 you know everybody wants to deal with us. We've become the hottest country anywhere in the world

00:06:23.400 in a very short period of time and we look forward to that. We look forward to dealing. We're going to

00:06:28.220 try and get this over with. Critics blasting the summit as a win for Vladimir Putin pointing to the lack

00:06:33.960 of a ceasefire and the red carpet reception for the Russian leader. Here a sampling beginning with

00:06:39.920 Democrat Senator from Connecticut Chris Murphy. That meeting was a disaster. It was an embarrassment

00:06:45.980 for the United States. It was a failure. Putin got everything he wanted. Trump's number one priority

00:06:51.380 is just keeping his friend Vladimir Putin happy. I don't know if Donald Trump is or is not a Russian

00:06:57.000 asset. He certainly acts like one. It looked like Putin was in control of this summit. What happened

00:07:03.100 on Friday was a historic embarrassment for the United States. This is what Putin wants. He wants

00:07:08.360 to be seen as an equal of the U.S. president. He made no concessions. Russia has not changed its 0.66

00:07:13.660 positions on the Ukraine war one inch. That last soundbite from President Obama's former Deputy

00:07:18.940 National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, whose boss was once caught on a hot mic telling then-Russian

00:07:24.740 President Dmitry Medvedev he'd have, quote, more flexibility with Russia after his 2012 re-election.

00:07:31.120 Team Trump countering the critics. Special Envoy Steve Wyckoff, who participated in the summit,

00:07:37.180 hitting the Sunday shows, outlining multiple concessions the Russians are willing to make,

00:07:41.880 including accepting U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine, which Mr. Wyckoff calls, quote,

00:07:47.380 game-changing. The exact scope of that commitment reportedly could be hammered out at today's

00:07:52.180 White House meeting. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, another member of Friday's delegation on ABC,

00:07:58.020 slamming critics for suggesting the war can end without President Trump meeting with Mr. Putin.

00:08:04.300 Pop and circumstance, the red carpet, the warm handshake, that President Trump simply lost that,

00:08:11.480 that Putin gained there, just by being on the world stage and walking down a red carpet with

00:08:16.460 the president. Your reaction to that?

00:08:18.080 Well, I mean, critics of President Trump are always going to find something to criticize.

00:08:22.360 You don't even pay attention to it anymore. But I will tell you this,

00:08:24.500 Putin is already on the world stage. The guy's conducting a full-scale war in Ukraine. He has

00:08:28.740 the world's largest tactical nuclear arsenal in the world and the second largest strategic nuclear

00:08:33.680 arsenal in the world. He's already on the world stage. When I hear people say that, oh, it elevates

00:08:38.200 him. Well, all we do is talk about Putin all the time. All the media's done is talk about Putin all

00:08:42.600 the time for the last four or five years. That doesn't mean he's right about the war. That doesn't

00:08:46.240 mean he's justified about the war. You're not going to end a war between Russia and Ukraine

00:08:49.840 without dealing with Putin. That's not, that's just common sense. I shouldn't even have to say

00:08:55.140 it. President Trump blasting the media yesterday morning on Truth Social, quote,

00:08:59.660 If I got Russia to give up Moscow as part of the deal, the fake news and their partner, 0.98

00:09:04.200 the radical left Democrats, would say I made a terrible mistake and a very bad deal.

00:09:08.980 The president following up Sunday night with another Truth Social post, quote,

00:09:12.520 President Zelensky of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately if he wants to,

00:09:18.500 or he can continue to fight. The effect of today's visit could have massive global implications.

00:09:24.760 We'll bring you the very latest. Coming up, a seven-month-old baby missing in California.

00:09:31.940 Parents say he was kidnapped. Investigators have their doubts. And Hurricane Aaron setting records

00:09:38.180 in the Atlantic. Will this powerful storm affect the East Coast?

00:09:46.160 As President Trump is settling into his new administration, one of the top Democrats in

00:09:50.380 Congress aiming to undermine the Trump agenda is Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois.

00:09:55.820 And according to our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition, Senator Durbin has a new plan,

00:10:01.820 a government takeover of your credit card. Today, Americans have thousands of choices in credit

00:10:06.780 cards, but they say Senator Durbin's plan will result in less competition and less security,

00:10:11.640 which means more risk for your credit and your identity. You can learn more for yourself at

00:10:17.280 guardyourcard.com. And you could consider telling your senators to stop Dick Durbin's government

00:10:23.280 takeover of your credit card before it's too late.

00:10:26.520 California's San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department announcing on Saturday it is unable to rule out

00:10:35.340 foul play in the Thursday disappearance of seven-month-old baby Emanuel Harrow. Baby Emanuel's

00:10:42.780 mother, Rebecca Harrow, originally reporting the baby missing around 7.47 p.m. Thursday evening,

00:10:49.840 telling authorities she was changing her son's diaper in a sporting goods store parking lot in

00:10:55.500 Yucaipa when an unknown male attacked her. Harrow sporting a black eye, recounting her story to

00:11:02.180 Los Angeles' ABC 7 on Friday. I fell on the floor and I said as I got up, I couldn't find my son. I got

00:11:12.820 him out of the car seat and I laid him down so I could get his diapers ready. And somebody said,

00:11:19.760 hola, and that's all I remember. And I saw, I saw white. And the hearing sound, I, I fell on the floor 0.57

00:11:27.500 and I, and I said, as I got up, I couldn't find my son. I checked all around my truck and I ran into

00:11:37.440 big five and I asked the lady if she saw a baby or someone with the baby. She said, no, it was happy

00:11:44.080 boy. Canine teams and helicopters deploying. Deputies from San Bernardino and Riverside counties

00:11:50.240 conducting an extensive search that night, yielding no results. Police have not yet said whether there

00:11:56.060 is any relevant camera footage from the alleged scene. Authorities searching the couple's home

00:12:01.060 on Saturday, reportedly bringing cadaver dogs. It is unclear if evidence was recovered. The Sheriff's

00:12:07.300 Department releasing a statement on Saturday morning that reads in part,

00:12:10.520 Rebecca was confronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement and declined to continue with

00:12:16.740 the interview. At this point in the investigation, investigators are unable to rule out foul play

00:12:22.440 in the disappearance of Emanuel. Investigators will continue their investigation to locate Emanuel

00:12:28.000 Harrow. The statement did not name the mother, Rebecca, or the father, Jake, as suspects, nor did it

00:12:34.160 expand on what inconsistencies they found. We asked the Sheriff's Department on Sunday if it remains the

00:12:40.080 case that they have no suspects but have not received a response. On Saturday, the Uvalde Foundation for

00:12:46.200 Kids, a national child advocacy and violence prevention group, announced it was withdrawing

00:12:51.880 its search teams and reward offer for Emanuel, saying too much is missing in this case, and noting,

00:12:59.300 quote, the inconsistencies in the details and the sudden decision by the mother to end communication

00:13:05.000 with law enforcement. The group asking, quote, what parent would do that? Emanuel's grandmother is

00:13:11.480 speaking out in support of her daughter Saturday to KTLA. Tonight, the grandmother has confirmed to us

00:13:17.660 that the couple is no longer cooperating with investigators and has lawyered up just hours

00:13:22.920 after they made that desperate public plea for their son's safe return. They're not going to hurt

00:13:28.180 that baby. Those couple were just home buddies. The grandmother also says investigators asked her

00:13:35.000 daughter to take a lie detector test, but her husband said no until they had a lawyer. She's just

00:13:40.740 going crazy. You know, she can't handle it anymore. And we have learned tonight that the baby's father

00:13:45.700 does have a criminal record. The Orange County Register reporting Mr. Harrow has a June 2023 conviction

00:13:52.840 for child cruelty stemming from a 2018 arrest. He was scheduled to 180 days in jail and 48 months of

00:14:01.240 probation and is scheduled to appear in court in early September for an alleged probation violation.

00:14:07.740 The grandmother also noting a two-year-old child had been moved out of the home, though it is unclear

00:14:13.340 if that choice was made by parents or mandated by authorities. Also unclear if and how many other

00:14:20.120 children live in this house. Harrow originally telling investigators she went to a sporting goods store

00:14:26.100 to purchase a mouth guard for her stepson, who plays youth football. Authorities have yet to activate

00:14:32.320 an Amber Alert, saying the criteria has not been met with no suspect or vehicle description.

00:14:38.680 Baby Emanuel said to weigh about 21 pounds, approximately 24 inches tall, brown hair, brown eyes,

00:14:45.580 and is said to be cross-eyed. He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. Anyone with information

00:14:52.320 about Emanuel's disappearance is asked to call 911 or the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department at 909-890-4904.

00:15:03.800 Hurricane Aaron, the first Atlantic hurricane of 2025 and the fifth named Storm, on a wild ride through

00:15:11.340 the Caribbean. Aaron at one point reaching a Cat 5-level hurricane, the fiercest designation,

00:15:17.600 but as of Sunday night downgraded to a Category 3 with sustained winds of 125 miles per hour,

00:15:24.180 centered just over 310 miles northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The hurricane center predicting the

00:15:30.720 storm will continue to fluctuate in size and intensity. The 5 p.m. advisory warning, quote,

00:15:36.660 Aaron is likely to remain a dangerous hurricane through the middle of the week. While its maximum

00:15:42.060 winds diminished, the storm's overall size grew. The hurricane center reporting Saturday night that

00:15:48.660 Aaron was experiencing an eyewall replacement cycle, where the storm becomes so powerful and its eyewall

00:15:55.700 so intense that a new eyewall forms, enlarging the radius of the storm's eye, ultimately strengthening the

00:16:03.100 storm, potentially. Hurricane Aaron still expected to avoid a direct landfall, passing north of Puerto

00:16:09.040 Rico, then curving northeast into the open Atlantic between the East Coast and Bermuda. But the hurricane

00:16:14.780 center warning Aaron could still produce life-threatening rip currents along the Bahamas, the U.S. East Coast,

00:16:21.420 Bermuda, and all the way up to parts of Canada over the next several days. Turks and Caicos and the

00:16:26.820 Southwest Bahamas bracing for tropical storm conditions today, nearly all of St. Thomas Island reportedly

00:16:32.440 losing power with scattered outages throughout the rest of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Aaron making the

00:16:38.040 history books, jumping from a Cat 1 on Friday morning to a Cat 5 in just over 24 hours, one of the fastest

00:16:45.100 intensifications ever recorded in the Atlantic. Fox Weather's Michael Estime with more on the record-breaking

00:16:51.660 nature of this storm.

00:16:53.320 We went from what was a little kitten to a big, ferocious tiger in literally 24 hours. This was

00:17:03.400 yesterday at about 11 o'clock in the morning, 75-mile-per-hour winds, and we ramped those

00:17:08.760 winds up by nearly 90 to 95 miles per hour in just 24 hours. We literally call that, quote, rapid

00:17:16.660 intensification. That, though, is when you see winds increase by 35 miles per hour in 24 hours. This was

00:17:25.540 90-plus miles per hour in 24 hours, so almost a super rapid intensification is what we're calling it.

00:17:33.120 This marks the fourth straight season with at least one Category 5 hurricane. AccuWeather forecasters

00:17:39.020 tracking two other potential systems, one with a low chance of development, the other with a medium

00:17:44.340 chance. Peak hurricane season is in September. The full season extends through November.
