Ep. 1091 - Lib Football Team Goes Gay To Intimidate A Christian School

Summary

Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump are now the subject of a criminal investigation by a random Texas sheriff. Is this the new Watergate? And if so, what does it mean for the chances of a Republican running for president in 2024?

00:00:14.640 The walls are closing in on Ron DeSantis. The Florida governor is in trouble now. You see,
00:00:21.940 DeSantis might have thought he was well positioned in his political career.
00:00:26.120 A successful term as governor of Florida, popular Republican with a national profile,
00:00:32.180 a strong presidential candidate for 2024, especially as federal law enforcement officials
00:00:37.720 raid and investigate the leading contender, Donald Trump. But all of that has disappeared in a flash
00:00:44.380 as Governor DeSantis now faces a criminal probe himself. This one not coming from the FBI or the
00:00:51.600 DOJ, but rather from a random sheriff in Texas. We are opening up a case with an investigation
00:00:59.060 with regard to the suspected activities involving the 48 migrants from Venezuela. As we understand it,
00:01:08.980 48 migrants were lured. I will use the word lured under false pretenses into staying at a hotel
00:01:18.040 for a couple of days. They were taken by airplane. At a certain point, they were shuttled to an airplane
00:01:24.380 where they were flown to Florida and then eventually flown to Martha's Vineyard. Again,
00:01:30.300 under false pretenses is the information that we have that they were promised work. They were promised
00:01:35.420 the solution to several of their problems. They were taken to Martha's Vineyard from what,
00:01:41.280 for what we can gather, for nothing, for little more than a photo op, video op. And then they were
00:01:48.580 unceremoniously stranded in Martha's Vineyard. Now, you might say that this random Texas sheriff
00:01:55.300 is a total goofball who has no right or jurisdiction whatsoever to investigate pretty much anyone and
00:02:02.660 certainly not the governor of Florida. True. That's all true. But Democrat activists are celebrating
00:02:08.580 the announcement. Aaron Parnas, a Democrat strategist with hundreds of thousands of followers on social
00:02:14.420 media, boasted, quote, it's official. The Republican Party's top two 2024 presidential candidates,
00:02:21.700 Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, are now under criminal investigation. And while technically true,
00:02:29.280 this raises an obvious question. Isn't it sort of funny how that works?
00:02:34.940 Isn't it a little bit weird how all the most effective Republican politicians in the country
00:02:41.640 always seem to be under investigation now, even when there's no basis for it,
00:02:47.480 even when they've never been under investigation before until the very moment that they seem to pose
00:02:52.800 a threat to Democrats? Almost as if Democrats are wielding law enforcement agencies under their control
00:02:59.920 to crush their political enemies? I'm beginning to think this is the new test of whether or not a
00:03:06.140 Republican is the real deal. As our country descends further and further into corruption,
00:03:11.260 into the banana Republic tactics of the ruling party attempting to jail anyone who seriously challenges
00:03:17.780 them, I'm beginning to think this is the new measure of a Republican. As the 2024 election approaches,
00:03:23.640 I think I am going to have to add this to my test for candidates. There are now three criteria that
00:03:29.960 I'm going to consider as I assess the various candidates. One, are they right on the issues?
00:03:35.540 Two, do they have a record of effectively implementing a conservative agenda? And three,
00:03:41.940 are the Democrats trying to throw them in jail? As far as I am concerned, the more that the Democrats
00:03:47.780 want to throw a Republican politician in prison, the better that Republican politician looks.
00:03:54.280 I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles Show.
00:04:03.700 Welcome back to the show. My favorite comment yesterday is from Nikolai Sergiv, who says,
00:04:09.380 as cinnamon is a key ingredient in the PSL and has been known to increase testosterone,
00:04:15.400 Michael isn't joking about its manliness. He must be the most virile, mucho macho Chad to grace the
00:04:24.300 Daily Wire studios to date. This is true, and many people are talking about it. And frankly,
00:04:30.160 everybody's talking about it. And I'm glad that you're able to share that insight with everybody
00:04:36.720 else. You know, it's probably because your brain is functioning very, very well, which probably means
00:04:41.780 you're getting a good night's sleep. When you want to get a great night's sleep, you got to check

00:05:49.220 The top two Republican candidates for president are under investigation. Uh-huh. Right. Well,
00:05:55.740 I think you're just reversing the order of events here. Why do you think that they are under
00:06:01.040 investigation? Do you think, do you think that Donald Trump is under investigation because he
00:06:06.960 had classified documents just like every other president ever? Trump is under investigation
00:06:14.100 because he questioned the results of the election, just like the major Democrat candidates for
00:06:19.840 president and governor and everywhere else for the last 20 years. He's under, Donald Trump is under
00:06:24.940 investigation because he is the chief political rival to Joe Biden. That's it. That's the beginning
00:06:29.120 and the end of it. Do you think Ron DeSantis is under investigation by this joke, jokester sheriff
00:06:35.220 in Texas because he flew migrants around the country? Joe Biden's been doing that at a much
00:06:42.080 larger scale than Ron DeSantis is. Furthermore, illegal immigration is illegal. Ron DeSantis would be
00:06:48.600 well within his rights to activate the National Guard and deport the people themselves back to Mexico.
00:06:53.500 No, he's under investigation by this jokester and it's being lauded by the chattering class on the
00:06:59.060 left around the country because he is a threat to Joe Biden, because he is a threat to the Democrats.
00:07:06.600 He is, he's viewed as a major threat. It will probably be a moot point because if Donald Trump
00:07:11.720 runs for president, there is a 99.99999 7% chance that he will win the Republican nomination.
00:07:18.440 And so all the other candidates, no matter how good, no matter how effective, no matter how persuasive,
00:07:22.680 don't really matter as much. Trump is up 40 points in the polls right now. The race is his if he wants it.
00:07:27.820 But Ron DeSantis, you got to give that man credit. That guy is running a very good and not only state
00:07:34.000 campaign for governor, but national campaign to put himself in a position to be president. He just
00:07:38.760 released a campaign ad. This is on the heels of the Martha's Vineyard migrant airplane stunt
00:07:44.800 that worked marvelously. Take a listen to this ad.
00:07:48.120 When our middle son, Brandon, left to go to work, he was only 21 years old. And the last words I said
00:07:55.540 to him is, I love you. And a twice deported illegal ran into him and hit him so hard that he caused
00:08:01.460 Brandon's car to flip and he killed him. My child's killed by someone who should not have been here.
00:08:07.440 This is what happens when we have open borders. We were able to go and meet with Governor DeSantis.
00:08:13.180 He said, I want to hear your son's story and to see the compassion in his eyes. And I saw the concern.
00:08:21.260 He wanted to make sure other lives were protected. And as a governor, he truly has been upholding
00:08:27.560 the oath that he took, which is to protect Floridians. He not only talks a good talk,
00:08:32.560 but he walks it. He's been very strong on safety. He's been very strong on law and order.
00:08:37.580 He has made our state one of the safest states to be in. There's no greater leader than Governor
00:08:43.000 DeSantis because he didn't just listen. He put Ayshen behind him.
00:08:49.240 Phenomenal ad. I'll get to the substance of the ad in a second. But what this proves about
00:08:53.360 DeSantis as a politician is that the man is not just a tactician, but a strategist.
00:09:01.200 DeSantis is obviously very good at tactics. DeSantis seems to get into the news cycle
00:09:05.680 every single day. Somehow the governor of Florida injects himself into the national news cycle
00:09:11.520 on every single issue pretty much every single day. And he's good and he's kind of trolly. And
00:09:18.260 do you remember when the let's go Brandon memes started up? Ron DeSantis held a press conference
00:09:22.820 in Brandon, Florida at a car dealership or something, obviously just to be able to say,
00:09:29.360 we're here in Brandon, Florida. And then the people giggle about it. So he's very good at tactics.
00:09:35.680 This ad obviously was not made overnight. This is a very well thought out, highly produced,
00:09:42.260 well edited, intentional ad. And it's an ad to serve as the knockout to the Martha's Vineyard
00:09:51.340 stunt. The Martha's Vineyard stunt is the jab. It's 50 little jabs. Boom, boom, boom. Yeah,
00:09:56.800 we're going to send these illegal aliens to Martha's Vineyard. Yeah, you libs who said you wanted these
00:10:00.820 illegal aliens, you're going to deport them within 48 hours. You're going to send them to a military base
00:10:04.620 because you're completely full of it. And you don't actually care about the immigrants. You just
00:10:07.880 want them to go to red states. You don't actually think that diversity is our strength. You actually
00:10:11.440 think it's going to weaken your communities. That's why you're shipping them out on a bus as
00:10:14.700 quick as you possibly can. Boom, there's the hook. The hook is illegal immigration killed my son.
00:10:21.900 And it's hurting all sorts of Americans. And here's my story. Here's the real effects of it.
00:10:27.200 Jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab. Look at this teeheehee. Look how funny it is.
00:10:30.800 The libs are such hypocrites. Boom, this is the real effect of it on Americans.
00:10:35.000 It means he was planning ahead. The strategy here was, no, it's not just going to be a little
00:10:40.640 giggle, giggle, look at what hypocrites they are. Because the fact is, on this issue,
00:10:46.720 DeSantis and Trump and Cruz and Abbott and every other Republican who is a conservative Republican
00:10:53.560 is right. Illegal immigration is seriously harming Americans. It's bringing drugs. It's bringing a ton of
00:10:59.860 crime. Everybody who crosses that border illegally is doing so by going into debt with the cartels.
00:11:06.320 Okay? And the cartels are savage animals who are then bringing organized crime and prostitution and
00:11:11.460 drugs and all sorts of madness into American communities. And to the point that that woman
00:11:16.660 made in the video, any crime, any even accident that happens at the hands of an illegal immigrant
00:11:25.000 is on the hands of Democrats who encouraged the illegal immigration. That man who killed that
00:11:30.140 woman's son should never have been in this country. Had Democrats not broken the law and encouraged other
00:11:36.060 people to break the law, that woman's son would be alive today. That's the real effect of it. To say
00:11:41.180 nothing about the people whose kids overdosed on fentanyl because the Democrats broke the law and
00:11:46.500 encouraged other people to come across the border illegally. The people who are killed by the
00:11:50.500 gangs and all the rest of it. The Republicans are right on this issue. And so you get a little
00:11:55.040 bit of that, the humor, the trollishness. You're making the Martha's Vineyard liberals look like
00:11:59.620 jerks. But then you're punching them. You're saying, no, no, but this is serious though, guys.
00:12:05.380 Okay? It's thinking a couple of steps ahead. It's still Donald Trump's race. There's no question
00:12:10.380 about it. But Ron DeSantis is slowly and confidently making the case every single day that if Trump doesn't
00:12:15.640 get it, you guys should vote for me. And you're going to see other candidates doing this as well.
00:12:18.940 Mike Pompeo just announced that he's running for president. You're seeing other campaigns
00:12:22.660 go into place to say, look, we know that Trump is the guy right now. But if Trump,
00:12:26.840 for whatever reason, doesn't become the nominee, doesn't run, whatever, we are ready to run.
00:12:32.500 There's a shadow campaign happening behind Trump and behind Biden, because it's looking
00:12:37.380 less and less likely that Biden is going to run as well.
00:12:48.940 Good Ranchers products are 100% born, raised, and harvested right here in the USA from local
00:12:54.560 family farms. Plus, there's no antibiotics ever, no added hormones, and no seed oils.

00:13:19.480 If Joe Biden does not run for president, you've got a shadow campaign now of Kamala Harris,
00:13:26.360 Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, I think, and Gavin Newsom, who are already running for president
00:13:32.480 behind him. And no one wants to say it, because we've all got to pretend like Joe Biden can run
00:13:38.580 again, because we've all got to pretend like Joe Biden knows what day it is and what his name is.
00:13:42.080 But he obviously doesn't. And so you're seeing people get more and more aggressive.
00:13:47.720 You're actually seeing a kind of shadow primary play out outside of Biden and Trump.
00:13:52.640 Gavin Newsom, who's probably the most aggressive and ambitious in running for president as a Democrat,
00:13:58.220 he just challenged DeSantis to a debate. He says, hey, Governor DeSantis,
00:14:02.620 clearly you're struggling, distracted, and busy playing politics with people's lives.
00:14:06.240 Since you have only one overriding need, attention, let's take this up in debate.
00:14:10.100 Wait, I'll bring my hair gel. You bring your hairspray. Name the time before election day.
00:14:16.400 I don't get that reference, other than both men have very nice hair. But I actually don't
00:14:20.600 get really the joke. Maybe Gavin Newsom had just had a couple of drinks at the French Laundry
00:14:24.320 and was kind of loosely tweeting. But regardless, one, there's no reason for DeSantis to accept the
00:14:30.740 debate. I think DeSantis sort of laughed it off, because Newsom is a failed governor.
00:14:34.740 And Governor DeSantis is one of the most effective and popular governors in the country.
00:14:40.180 But what you're seeing here is a kind of test run. Hey, come on, debate me. Debate me, bro.
00:14:47.760 Come on, I'm not worried about Joe Biden. I'm not, even Donald Trump. They're saying,
00:14:51.200 I'm not really worried about Donald Trump. No one wants to come out and say it.
00:14:54.920 But when it comes to Trump, they're holding off of him because it looks like he does want to run.
00:14:58.980 It looks like he will run, and he probably will get the nomination.
00:15:01.080 When it comes to Biden, it's increasingly looking like he will not run.
00:15:05.000 Nobody wants him to run. And even if he did want to run, the party would probably tell him
00:15:08.980 not to. We're in 2022, guys. We haven't even hit the midterms yet.
00:15:15.260 Imagine how hot this is going to be after the midterms heading into 2023.
00:15:19.340 Speaking of national debates, I've got to switch gears for a little bit here,
00:15:22.960 because I've got to defend my friend Matt Walsh. Matt has been getting in big trouble
00:15:27.880 with Media Matters and all of the libs who are calling Matt a racist. They call us all racists
00:15:33.520 because Matt pointed out that mermaids are not black. Because Matt pointed out that mermaids
00:15:39.640 are white. This is a scientific fact. He actually says that mermaids are translucent,
00:15:44.420 like all those sorts of creepy little fish at the bottom of the sea.
00:15:47.260 And this has become a big national debate that then has gone, I think, into the realm of the
00:15:55.160 absurd, where one prominent lib on social media said that the debate is stupid and Matt is obviously a
00:16:02.960 racist because they're ignoring the fact that mermaids don't even exist. And I thought,
00:16:07.160 what are you talking about mermaids don't exist? You're telling me it's 2022. In 2022,
00:16:13.080 there are still people who are seriously arguing that mermaids do not exist, even after Christopher
00:16:19.320 Columbus saw several of them with his own eyes in 1493. Even after John Cook, famous sailor John
00:16:26.280 Cook, saw a mermaid, also back in the 17th century. Are you kidding me? Doesn't make sense.
00:16:35.700 There are many eyewitness accounts of mermaids. Now, I'm not saying that mermaids definitely exist.
00:16:43.120 Okay, I'm just saying there are many eyewitness accounts of mermaids spanning at least several
00:16:48.280 centuries and then going way, way back into folklore. I guess the point I want to make is,
00:16:52.820 amid all of our modern hubris about what all those stupid, crazy old people thought,
00:16:57.040 all these fantastic, delusional things, I just want to point out that, for instance,
00:17:01.160 there is much more scientific evidence that mermaids exist than that the COVID vaccines present
00:17:06.460 infection and transmission. For sure. You've got all of the modern, really fancy,
00:17:12.920 white lab coat wearing, stethoscope having modern scientists who said that the COVID vaccines will
00:17:20.080 prevent infection and transmission of the virus. And all I'm pointing out is, many more people have
00:17:25.380 seen mermaids than have seen the COVID vaccine prevent infection and transmission of the virus.
00:17:31.100 There are all sorts of modern scientific things that are much less plausible than mermaids.
00:17:40.440 The idea that global warming is going to kill us all in 10 years, and that was a few years ago
00:17:44.700 that people were predicting that. The idea that global cooling was going to kill us all within
00:17:49.440 a couple of decades. The idea that the overpopulation was going to cause mass worldwide famines.
00:17:55.260 Those predictions were made by major environmentalist groups in 1970. None of that happened. Actually,
00:18:01.560 the world population doubled malnutrition, hit an all-time low. People became fatter than ever.
00:18:07.840 Much more evidence of mermaids than of overpopulation. There's just a modern hubris that we have.
00:18:15.760 We look in the past, we say, oh my gosh, those dumb old people in the, I don't know, the Renaissance
00:18:20.720 or the Middle Ages or ancient times, they believed the craziest things. They're big, dumb idiots
00:18:25.160 because they didn't even have iPhones like I do. I'm so smart. We believe way crazier things than
00:18:32.540 they did. There are way crazier things to believe in than mermaids. Okay, I'll give you an example of
00:18:37.360 one. This guy, Jack Turbin, who I've seen him before. He's some lib blue check. He's got all sorts
00:18:43.080 of weird gay flags and things in his Twitter bio. And he's got his degree, MD. It says, Jack Turbin,
00:18:50.300 MD, and he is a radical transgender activist. So this is what he tweets out. He says,
00:18:57.120 four years at Harvard, five years at Yale, three more years at Harvard, two years at Stanford.
00:19:05.560 But Karen 0526789 has some thoughts about sex chromosomes. And what he's saying there at the end
00:19:11.840 is, you idiot conservatives, you seem to think that men and women are different. You don't believe in
00:19:17.100 transgenderism, but I went to Harvard, you see. And because I went to Harvard, I know that boys are
00:19:24.220 secretly girls or whatever. That's his argument. Reminds me of Socrates. Socrates famously, when
00:19:32.940 arguing with an idiot, he says, look, neither me nor this idiot know anything about what is really
00:19:38.640 good and beautiful. But I have a little bit of an advantage over this guy. Because this guy doesn't
00:19:44.940 know anything. And he thinks he knows something. And I don't know anything. And I know that I don't
00:19:50.240 know anything. And it is amazing. But I have never seen somebody with their academic degree listed in
00:20:01.700 their Twitter name, Jack Turbin, MD, or so-and-so, PhD. I've never seen someone who lists an academic
00:20:09.200 degree in their name who seems intelligent or wise. Find me the counterexample. I don't mean it just to
00:20:16.120 call my opponents idiots. It's really not. I'm just saying, if you compare the kinds of people
00:20:22.060 who list their academic degrees and who boast about things like, I went to Harvard for this
00:20:26.000 many years. And I went to Stanford. And that's why I'm so much smarter than everybody else.
00:20:29.480 Every time I see people like that, they seem way dumber. And they believe way crazier stuff
00:20:35.260 than the people who have any humility whatsoever. But of course, this is the case. This is always the
00:20:41.880 case. This is not some new phenomenon. The people who think of themselves as super-duper smart
00:20:47.900 usually look like fools and are given to pride and hubris and end up believing insane things.
00:20:54.900 And the people who recognize that actually we don't really know very much of anything at all,
00:20:58.500 they tend to be much wiser. And this is one of the delights of our fallen world, one of the
00:21:04.440 consolations of it, is the people who consider themselves really, really smart and wise
00:21:08.620 pretty much always look like big dumb idiots. Okay? This guy, Jack Turbin, believes that boys
00:21:17.440 are secretly girls and girls are secretly boys and advocates giving them all sorts of drugs and
00:21:23.960 cross-sex hormones and bodily genital mutilations so that little boys look more like little girls and
00:21:30.420 vice versa. And it's ghastly and it's horrible. But if you can just not think about the suffering and
00:21:36.300 pain caused by this for a second, you just think of it in a more abstracted way, it's absolutely
00:21:41.040 freaking hilarious that this dude has spent how long? He's spent how many years in the Ivy League?
00:21:46.860 Five at Harvard, four at Harvard, five at Yale, three more at Harvard, something like that. It's
00:21:54.060 kind of hard to see here. Four years at Harvard. Yeah, there we go. Nine, 12. Oh, then another two at
00:21:58.040 Harvard. So, and then you've got Stanford on top of that. So this guy's been in, throughout the Ivy
00:22:04.880 League, and all the top schools forever, and he thinks that boys can secretly be girls.
00:22:09.740 It's amazing. You, you out there listening, very likely did not spend all these many years,
00:22:16.060 a dozen years in the Ivy League. And yet you know that boys are not girls. You are much smarter than
00:22:20.880 this man. You have much more wisdom. So it's a real lesson. A little humility goes a long way.
00:22:26.940 Speaking of LGBT, one of the most hilarious episodes that I've ever seen come out of sports
00:22:33.140 just came out of UMass. So UMass, the football team, is supposed to play Liberty University.
00:22:41.440 And to own the Libs, to own the Liberties, really to own the Christian conservatives,
00:22:47.280 UMass has declared that their football team is super duper gay.
00:22:51.780 It says, please stand by for a special announcement.
00:22:58.320 We've got this nice hype music going on. Pride Day over the football player dancing around
00:23:05.040 in a rainbow-looking club. Massachusetts versus Liberty, October 8th, 3.30. Yeah, and he's
00:23:15.280 pointing. He's like, this is Pride Day, baby. Now, I thought Pride Day was, it wasn't, well,
00:23:22.660 Pride was originally a day, then it was a week, then it was a month. But that was back in June.
00:23:26.700 But now it's September, and we're hearing that Pride Day is going to be in October. It's just
00:23:30.220 Pride all the time, because LGBT is the kind of public religion and public liturgy of the Libs.
00:23:37.360 And so they're forcing that on everybody else. But the UMass football team is now,
00:23:44.340 they're so triggered by anyone who's Christian or conservative, like Liberty U, that in order to
00:23:49.720 own the Christian conservatives, they're saying, yeah, yeah, you're going to, well, guess what?
00:23:53.880 We're super gay. Yeah, we're not even just gay. We're trans. That's right. Yeah, look at us. Oh,
00:24:00.180 I bet you guys are so triggered. We're, yeah, us, the UMass football team, we're actually little
00:24:04.660 girls. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Aren't you totally owned? No, not really at all. Not really
00:24:12.160 at all. You are, in a vain attempt to own Liberty and the Christian conservatives, you're making
00:24:18.180 yourself look, at the very least, frivolous and foolish. The time is upon us, you know,
00:24:23.700 for another Backstage, which is happening tonight, 6 p.m. Central, 7 p.m. Eastern. And it's about time,
00:24:29.100 because there is more news than ever to discuss. If you've never seen Backstage before,
00:24:32.960 this is where we all get together. I get to see my Daily Wire buddies, Ben, Matt, Drew,
00:24:38.940 the God King Jeremy Boring, for a roundtable discussion on the most burning topics of the day.
00:24:44.340 Jokes will be cracked. Cigars will be smoked. Libations will be imbibed. Plus, we will be
00:24:50.900 reuniting with our good friend Candace Owens, who is back with exciting news and ready to tick off
00:24:55.760 libs more than ever. You definitely do not want to miss this one. Tune in to join us for Backstage
00:25:01.000 tonight, 6 p.m. Central, 7 p.m. Eastern at dailywireplus.com.
00:25:08.260 I'm all for trolling and owning the libs and everything, but you've got to do it
00:25:12.260 with a purpose. Okay, you saw it with DeSantis dropping that immigration ad. So he's trolling,
00:25:18.940 he's sending the plane loads of immigrants, he's getting the libs to look like hypocrites.
00:25:22.660 But then he follows it up and he drops it. He says, this is why it matters. This is the importance
00:25:26.540 of immigration. You get a troll with a purpose. There was one time, I remember there was a
00:25:31.520 conservative who was trying to own the libs on some college campus. This was about four or five
00:25:35.960 years ago. And he was making fun of safe spaces and the guy dressed up in a diaper and put a
00:25:42.440 pacifier or something in his mouth and danced around and pretended to be a little baby in a safe
00:25:46.740 space. He was trying to mock the libs, but he was actually just kind of making a fool out of himself.
00:25:52.780 You don't want to take it that far. I remember there was one time in college,
00:25:57.220 there was a song we used to sing in a group that I was in in college. And it was about our rival.
00:26:02.060 Harvard was our rival, speaking of that guy, Jack Turbin. And the song was sung in the final
00:26:07.820 stanza in the voice of Harvard. And the stanza went, 10,000 men of Harvard, we like our college much.
00:26:14.960 The girls, they aren't so pretty, but we sure like to touch ourselves in the morning when we first rise
00:26:20.700 for class and when we're fully risen. And I'll let you complete the stanza yourself and use your
00:26:24.960 imagination. And so we're kind of making fun of Harvard right in this kind of childish way.
00:26:29.200 But it occurred to me one time while we were singing it, I said, wait a second,
00:26:31.960 because of how it's phrased, because we're putting it in our own voice, it sounds like we
00:26:36.720 are just saying that we do this thing that is considered sort of disreputable. Are we in an
00:26:42.540 attempt to own our rivals, we're kind of owning ourselves. I think that's what's going on here
00:26:46.320 with UMass and Liberty. They're just, they're so, the libs are just so triggered at this moment
00:26:55.240 that they're really, really, they're making very, very foolish missteps. They're making
00:27:01.500 themselves look very foolish. And you can tell it's not playing very well with the public.
00:27:05.480 That's why they're getting absolutely creamed right now, looking ahead into the midterms.
00:27:09.380 Speaking of education, really great news. I don't think this just happened,
00:27:13.800 but the news I think is just starting to spread. Kanye West has started a school. Kanye West has
00:27:20.360 started something called the Donda Academy, named after his mother, Donda West, who was a professor.
00:27:27.300 And the school is located in Simi Valley, California, and it's got a very Christian ethos to it.
00:27:35.200 The students there participate in full school worship, as well as core classes in language arts,
00:27:41.660 math and science. Then they've got the regular stuff, lunch, recess, enrichment courses, some film,
00:27:47.280 some art, some choir, all sorts of things. Now, people are making fun of Kanye for this because
00:27:52.300 Kanye just went on a podcast and admitted something, which is kind of ironic for a guy who started a
00:27:57.700 school. He admitted that he's never read a book. Also, when you said I hadn't read this book,
00:28:03.340 I actually haven't read any book. Reading is like eating Brussels sprouts for me. And talking is like
00:28:11.300 getting the Giorgio Baldy corn ravioli. Like a good conversation is Mike Howe that invented the
00:28:21.680 rip saw with his brother, Jeff Howe, was saying that when his mom texts him like long paragraphs,
00:28:30.440 he reads the first sentence and the last sentence. This person and his brother invented the fastest
00:28:37.140 track vehicle. They put it in G.I.G.O. They have government contracts. This guy is a full on engineer,
00:28:44.220 works with all geniuses and for practical, not opinionated, you know, practical technologies.
00:28:52.700 And he only reads the first sentence and the last. And what do you think my response was?
00:28:58.200 Same.
00:28:59.540 What do you think my response was? Same. I'm going to confess it, guys. I've never read a book.
00:29:04.940 And people are making fun of Kanye. I find that so refreshing. Because I bet, I bet many,
00:29:11.460 if not most of the people making fun of Kanye for not reading a book, probably haven't read very many
00:29:17.280 books themselves. And they probably don't read regularly. And they probably don't read particularly
00:29:21.920 probing important works. They just flatter themselves that they're really, really smart
00:29:26.840 and educated. I'm so much smarter and educated than Kanye West. Maybe, but probably not. And I know
00:29:33.360 that you're not wiser than Kanye West in this regard. Neither of you probably know very much of
00:29:39.880 anything. And you think that you know a whole lot. And Kanye has the humility to say, yeah,
00:29:44.840 I'll be real, guys. I don't really read books. Yeah, I don't know. You know, I just don't really.
00:29:49.960 I'm going to totally admit it. He's willing to look foolish for the sake of honesty,
00:29:56.280 which actually is a sign of wisdom. It is a sign of wisdom to be able to say, yeah,
00:30:01.700 I don't really know very much about that. Who knows? And here's what I'll tell you. When I look
00:30:05.200 at how Kanye's school is set up, what they're teaching there, looks like a way more serious
00:30:10.540 educational institution than pretty much any public school in the country.
00:30:14.840 And then most private schools, too. Here's what they say. Using an ethic of integrity and care,
00:30:20.460 Donda Academy prepares students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers,
00:30:23.700 and innovators by providing them with a world-class education that includes the rigorous core
00:30:27.140 curriculum. How many schools are missing that basic core curriculum these days, where you read
00:30:31.620 great works and you study the classic subjects? Very few schools do still do that. And an emphasis
00:30:37.620 on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. Sounds great. I love it.
00:30:42.680 I would be much more inclined to send my kids to Kanye West University than I would to virtually any
00:30:51.300 other institution in the country. I love books. I love reading books. I actually do read a lot of
00:30:55.520 books. I host a show about books, and I encourage everyone else to read books, too. But even more than
00:31:01.120 that, I encourage people to be very honest with themselves and recognize the paucity of all of our
00:31:07.760 education, okay? And to recognize the limits to our knowledge and to have some curiosity and, above all,
00:31:13.440 some humility. Socrates, one of the smartest fellas ever to walk the earth. And here's the direct
00:31:19.080 quote. I have it copied down here. Although I do not suppose that either of us knows anything really
00:31:23.280 beautiful and good, I am better off than he is. For he knows nothing and thinks he knows. I neither
00:31:28.380 know nor think I know. Speaking of schools, I meant to announce this on the show a while ago. I'm glad I
00:31:34.500 can announce it. Now, I will be speaking at Wisconsin Lutheran College this Thursday. Very
00:31:40.600 excited to be there. If you happen to be in the Milwaukee area, come on by. You can check out the
00:31:45.400 information on yaf.org. It's going to be a ton of fun. Some people have pointed out that it's kind of
00:31:51.180 funny that I'm kicking off my school tour this year at Wisconsin Lutheran University, or at Wisconsin
00:31:57.280 Lutheran College, rather, because I happen to be a mackerel-snapping papist. And I say it has to be that
00:32:03.140 way because now I get disinvited from the Catholic schools. Last semester, I was invited by students
00:32:07.800 at the University of St. Thomas. St. Thomas is my confirmation saint, okay? This is obviously a very
00:32:13.480 Catholic university, or at least it's supposed to be. And the students were not permitted to follow
00:32:19.460 through with their invitation. The school administration shut down my invite, specifically
00:32:24.600 because I espouse Catholic views on transgenderism. Because I say that men and women are different,
00:32:31.680 and men can't become women, and women can't become men. Pretty much reading straight out of the
00:32:35.920 catechism of the Catholic Church, the Catholic school says, I'm not allowed to come. But the
00:32:42.000 Lutheran school will welcome me, okay? So this is, hey, Catholics, get your act together, okay? Especially
00:32:47.200 nominally Catholic universities that are really only pretending to be Catholic. Their true religion is
00:32:52.180 leftism. And whenever their purported faith in Catholicism comes into conflict with their true
00:32:58.900 faith in leftism, they're going to give the edge to leftism. So I'm very excited to hang out with all
00:33:03.060 the Lutherans up there in Wisconsin. Hope to see you there as well. Okay, and maybe we'll be talking
00:33:08.900 about some of those issues that got me banned from the University of St. Thomas, namely basic facts about
00:33:17.640 human sex. Speaking of sexual impropriety, there's a clip that's gone viral. I have intentionally tried
00:33:24.840 not to follow the details of this too much, because the whole story is just absolute tabloid trash,
00:33:30.140 and I don't want to sully my mind or soul following too closely what's going on. But the broad strokes
00:33:36.300 of it are that some TikTok chick had an affair with a rock star, with a singer from Maroon 5,
00:33:43.240 who's married and has kids. And now she's making TikToks to get more attention, talking about how
00:33:49.820 she had this affair. I was having an affair with a man who's married to a Victoria's Secret model.
00:33:55.600 At the time, you know, I was young, I was naive. And I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited. I
00:34:02.460 wasn't in the scene like I am now. So I was definitely very easily manipulated.
00:34:07.780 Maroon 5 is practically elevator music at this point. So I'm sure you know who Adam Levine is.
00:34:16.060 But Adam and I were seeing each other for about a year. After I stopped talking to him over, you know,
00:34:21.580 a period of months, this is how he came back into my life. He said, okay, serious question. I'm having
00:34:29.920 another baby. And if it's a boy, I really want to name it Sumner. You okay with that? Dead serious.
00:34:35.600 I was like, I'm in hell. Like I have to be in hell at this point. I mean, my morals were
00:34:47.940 unknowingly compromised. I was completely manipulated. She was totally manipulated. She's
00:34:53.260 such a victim. She knowingly and willingly had a year long affair with a married man,
00:34:58.780 a married man with multiple children. But she's just such a victim, you know? Don't you think
00:35:03.300 she's such a victim? I don't actually. I actually think she should just sort of shut up and be quiet
00:35:11.340 about it and apologize to the man's wife and stop pretending that this is all about her. The only
00:35:19.520 victims here are this man's wife and children. Those are the victims, okay? And the man and the woman did
00:35:26.980 something very bad and I'm not just here to shame them and moralize and wag my finger, okay?
00:35:34.880 Drew Clavin has a great point. He says that every man is two drinks and a wink away from ruining his
00:35:39.040 life, okay? I have a great terror. I'm very glad that I haven't done this. I hope I never do this. I
00:35:46.820 have a great terror. I mean, this is probably the thing I fear the most. Could you imagine betraying the
00:35:50.600 people who you love the most, who are so close to you? It's awful. There before the grace of God goes
00:35:55.140 all of us. But if they do this terrible thing, apologize and try to atone and keep it to yourself.
00:36:05.580 But we can't do that in our culture anymore because the only thing that we can do in our culture
00:36:10.040 is claim to be the victim. Everything has to be about us. Everything has to be about seeking
00:36:14.620 attention and somehow everything is everyone else's fault except for our own. This is just the flip
00:36:20.980 side of that same pride. That pride that says, I know everything and I'm such a genius and I got
00:36:25.980 three degrees at Harvard and that's why little boys are actually little girls and we should chop
00:36:29.700 off their genitals because I'm so smart and these people look like idiots. The flip side of that is
00:36:33.740 never feeling any sense of shame or guilt because you can't do anything wrong because you're so smart
00:36:38.520 and great. You have to be the victim. Even at the time, you didn't think of yourself as the
00:36:43.640 victim. Even as you're explaining it, it's so implausible that you would be the victim.
00:36:47.640 But you have to be the victim because you're perfect, right? This girl in her mind, she's
00:36:52.760 just absolutely perfect. She can't do anything wrong. That's the flip side of it too. It's just
00:36:57.660 that, I mean, it makes sense. Sometimes we talk about slavery as America's original sin. I don't
00:37:02.840 think that's America's original sin. Original sin is America's original sin. And pride, which causes the
00:37:07.660 fall, the queen of all vices, that is just absolute poison. You see it virtually,
00:37:13.640 every aspect of social corruption. Now, what one wants to do, if one wants to avoid these sorts of
00:37:23.140 terrible things and destroying one's life and family, would be to stay focused. And some people
00:37:27.360 can't really stay focused. Speaking of focus, Joe Biden insists that he is mentally very, very focused.
00:37:35.580 Some people think that he's in decline and senility and gets lost when a butterfly flies in front of his
00:37:41.120 face. But no, he says he is very, very focused. Just listen to him.
00:37:45.620 How would you say your mental focus is?
00:37:48.920 Oh, it's focused.
00:37:51.520 I think it's, I haven't, look, I have trouble even mentioning, even saying to myself, my own head,
00:37:59.240 the number of years. I no more think of myself as being as old as I am than fly.
00:38:03.680 I mean, it's just not, I haven't observed anything in terms of, there's not things I don't do now that
00:38:12.460 I did before, whether it's physical or mental or anything else.
00:38:17.320 That's the polished, edited version. That's the best version that 60 Minutes could present of Joe
00:38:24.380 Biden. People say, people say, I'm, Sam. And you can even say, it's kind of sad. You can see it in
00:38:30.620 how vacant Joe Biden's eyes are. He's kind of got that, that look to him that people who are in
00:38:35.100 senility have. People say, I'm, and I'm not, and I'm focused, I could fly. You know, and there are
00:38:42.320 things that I, and I don't do things that I did, that I do things I never, I don't, there's nothing I
00:38:48.680 didn't do that I do. You know, you know the thing. Really, really sad. Obviously, obviously not all
00:38:59.600 with it. This is why the Democrats are all circling the wagons to try to give themselves positions.
00:39:07.080 I was talking to Ted Cruz about this last night. He said, you know, he sees this pretty, pretty
00:39:12.640 up close and personal in DC. He said, you can tell for six months now, Buttigieg and Kamala both want
00:39:18.380 to replace Biden when he obviously can't run for president in 2024. And they're already starting
00:39:23.260 to stab each other in the back and go on TV as much as possible. They're already trying to do it.
00:39:29.420 And when you look at the dysfunction of our system, it's, it's tempting right now to look around the
00:39:36.860 world and say, is there any better sort of system? And this is an especially good time for that because
00:39:42.380 of the death of Queen Elizabeth. There's a ton of focus on the British form of government,
00:39:47.840 specifically on the monarchical aspect of the British form of government and all these rituals.
00:39:52.760 And there are some people in America and in Great Britain, but especially in America, who are making
00:39:57.460 fun of all the rituals. We think this is, why on earth is some random family just given all this
00:40:03.400 money and all this prestige and they're looked up to and all this pomp and circumstance and the guys
00:40:07.720 wearing the funny tall hats, standing guard around. It's just like totally crazy. We would never do that
00:40:12.360 kind of crazy thing in America. You saw there were these beautiful ceremonies before Queen Elizabeth
00:40:17.840 there were these wonderful vigils where her son, the King and his siblings would stand vigil around
00:40:24.300 the casket. Not like someone was going to come vandalize it anyway. And not like Prince Charles,
00:40:28.740 now King Charles was going to do anything about it in particular, but they just stand there and
00:40:33.180 there's a ritual. And this ritual has gone on for hundreds and hundreds of years. Americans look at
00:40:38.780 that, especially the liberal kind of Americans. They say, who needs all that stupid ritual?
00:40:42.100 What they don't realize is that we have it too. I was thinking back to Ruth Bader Ginsburg's
00:40:49.440 lying in state. Ruth Bader Ginsburg lies in state in, where was it? Was it in the U.S. Capitol? I don't
00:40:57.060 know. It was some big fancy government building in D.C. And she's there and the coffin is draped in the
00:41:03.940 American flag and there are people standing vigil and standing guard. And then at one point, as people are
00:41:08.440 coming to pay their respects to the coffin, Ginsburg's personal trainer walks up and starts
00:41:12.680 doing pushups in front of the coffin as a kind of final act of loyalty and respect to Ruth Bader
00:41:19.520 Ginsburg. And this happened for days and days and days. We're doing the exact same thing that the
00:41:23.560 British do with their monarchy. The only difference is that we're doing it in a less dignified way for
00:41:30.200 people who are much less deserving of it. The queen gave her entire life to service of the crown and
00:41:38.240 suppressed her own desires and interests all along the way and suffered all sorts of indignities. And yes,
00:41:44.240 she had a palace and yes, she had servants and yes, she had a bunch of money, but money actually doesn't
00:41:49.320 buy happiness. She didn't have the freedom of choice to do pretty much anything she wanted. Her whole life
00:41:54.520 was about duty and she did it in a very dignified way because she recognized that there are obligations
00:42:00.440 in society and traditions that must be maintained. And she remained that symbol of unity for Great Britain
00:42:05.900 in a period of massive social upheaval when lots of other societies did not fare nearly as well
00:42:10.820 as Britain did. And she did it and now people are paying formal respect to her as they lay her to
00:42:17.100 rest. We do all that same stuff here in America. We just pretend that we don't and it's all kind of
00:42:21.920 weird and kooky and it's for people who are not deserving of one thousandth the sort of respect
00:42:27.360 that Queen Elizabeth was. Because you can't escape this stuff. Much as we want to pretend that we're sort
00:42:32.320 of radical, modernist, rationalist, Republican people who are all done with the crazy myths and
00:42:37.820 pomp and circumstance of the old monarchies. We're not because man is an incarnate being and an
00:42:43.940 essentially religious being and we're liturgical and we're ritualistic and we need all of these
00:42:49.320 sorts of things. And we must have in society things that are held sacred and we must have shared religious
00:42:54.800 and moral beliefs and we must have shared standards. And when we get rid of the old ones,
00:42:59.680 the good ideas of virtue and duty and Christianity, when we get rid of all of that, it's not like we
00:43:04.620 just are left with nothing and it's an empty vacuum. What comes in is a bunch of insane new ideas to fill
00:43:10.820 that space like transgenderism and a kind of cult of personal autonomy and abortion, happy, robed lawyers
00:43:20.280 that are treated in the same way as a British monarch. It's absolutely, it's undeniable. And so the
00:43:27.380 question is not, how do we get rid of all these crazy old rituals? The question is, what should the
00:43:31.000 rituals be? What do we revere? What do we venerate? What do we hold sacred? And if we are going to have
00:43:42.620 people who are revered in this country, should they be these tawdry, petty politicians or should they have
00:43:47.940 some dignity and some class? Speaking of petty politicians, there's a scandal brewing in New York
00:43:53.460 and because New York is fairly corrupt, no one's even really paying attention to it. But the chief
00:43:57.980 of staff for the mayor of New York, Eric Adams, the chief of staff was caught using taxpayer dollars
00:44:03.960 to take a cruise in France. And it was obviously a personal vacation, but this guy pretended that he
00:44:10.820 was out there doing research, doing research on the French Riviera. Who knows what kind of research
00:44:15.200 this bureaucrat from New York City was conducting out there? But Mayor Adams was asked about this.
00:44:21.560 He just brushes it off.
00:44:23.060 The Times reported that your chief of staff spent time on a cruise ship in France
00:44:26.880 for research purposes. What is the, what he was trying to figure out there and what that taxpayer
00:44:32.040 funded? You see what I go through? I answered the cruise ship question already. I'm not going back and
00:44:39.220 forth to that. When there's something, when there's something to announce more about a cruise ship
00:44:44.660 idea or any other idea, I'm going to announce it. I'm finished with that. Next question.
00:44:49.520 I'm finished. You got to see what I have to deal with over here, man. I got to deal with,
00:44:53.160 occasionally a reporter asks me a real question. This is ridiculous, man. Come on, man. I got to deal
00:44:58.160 with that. What? You tell him just because my chief of staff embezzled taxpayer dollars to go on a fancy
00:45:02.280 vacation in France. Now I got to answer that question. No, man, I'm not going to answer that question.
00:45:06.680 Are you crazy? That's absolutely crazy. Moving on. Don't you dare ask me that question again.
00:45:11.000 And then the crazy part is they just move on because we are increasingly used to this kind
00:45:16.440 of corruption. We laugh about it. I was laughing about it at the top of the show because we're
00:45:20.340 so used to it now. Oh yeah. Well, DeSantis is looking pretty hot for 2024. I guess they're
00:45:25.300 going to put them under criminal investigation. You know, that's just what happens now.
00:45:30.320 You know, in our alleged sacred democracy, which is really just kind of a one party oligarchy
00:45:35.980 where the president of the United States says that if you even think about voting for the other
00:45:39.280 party, you're a terrorist and an extremist and a threat to democracy and a Nazi and a fascist.
00:45:44.880 Well, yeah, what happens is if you're ever going to pose any threat to the ruling regime,
00:45:48.600 then they're going to investigate you and try to throw you into prison. Ha ha ha. Okay, moving on.
00:45:55.300 Moving on. It's kind of sad. It kind of brings me down a notch as an American.
00:46:02.820 As Americans, we're really proud of our country. America's done lots of great things. It's founded
00:46:07.520 on really some really wonderful ideas. And I think all Americans now, and the polls reflect this,
00:46:14.740 feel that we're in a period of national decline and a kind of national malaise. And we've lost
00:46:18.480 something, something of which we used to be really, really proud. And we've turned what was,
00:46:24.240 I think, a healthy love of our country and a love of virtue and the good into just a kind of shallow
00:46:28.960 pride for being Americans that we're so much better than everybody else. Well, I don't know. I mean,
00:46:33.180 if you look at the way that our government is conducted right now, I don't know that we have
00:46:37.960 a big soapbox and a lot of credibility to lecture and scold the world. Because we are certainly not
00:46:47.800 living up to the best of what our nation could be. We've got to look to ourselves. As long as we're
00:46:54.320 just here out bragging, we're just so wonderful. We've got 10 degrees from Harvard and Stanford.
00:46:58.840 And we're going to make ourselves dumb, okay? We're already giving away so much social cohesion,
00:47:05.540 our political traditions, our highest ideals, our understanding of basic facts about the difference
00:47:11.100 between boys and girls. We've given that up because of our stupid pride. Maybe a little humility will
00:47:15.580 help us get to more of a national renewal. The rest of the show is continuing now. We've got
00:47:20.120 David Cohn coming on. That's right. That's right. One of the three heads of Crane and Company,
00:47:26.940 because he and I are going head to head in fantasy football. And you know me, I'm a football mogul.
00:47:31.720 I'm a sports maven, my friends. We've got a very serious discussion to be had about this Liberty
00:47:39.320 University UMass gay football team from someone who actually knows about football. If you're not a

00:47:50.120 We'll see you.
