00:00:00.000 Yesterday, a federal judge sentenced former Proud Boys leader Enrique Torrio to 22 years in federal prison for the seditious conspiracy that he supposedly perpetrated on January 6th, the day that the light of democracy almost vanished from the world.
00:00:19.860 A January 6th, a day on which Torrio not only did not enter the U.S. Capitol, but on which he wasn't even in Washington, D.C.
00:00:31.220 Nonetheless, Judge Timothy Kelly said Torrio's absence from the alleged insurrection to which none of the supposed insurrectionists brought weapons, quote, does not do anything to detract from the severity of his conduct.
00:00:48.020 Even from many miles away, Torrio objected to the certification of the obviously rigged election, and so now the government is going to imprison him for more than two decades.
00:00:58.820 Torrio did not commit any violent crimes.
00:01:02.260 He's not even accused of committing a violent crime.
00:01:05.760 He wasn't even in the city.
00:01:08.580 22 years.
00:01:09.400 The average sentence for rape in the United States is less than 15 years, meaning that Torrio faces 50% more jail time than the average rapist.
00:01:20.820 But really, he probably faces more than that, because while right-wingers have had the book thrown at them in recent years, most non-political prisoners don't spend anywhere near their full sentence behind bars.
00:01:34.100 Do you know the average time served by convicted human traffickers in the United States?
00:01:40.560 Less than 10 and a half years.
00:01:43.020 How about the time, on average, served by child traffickers?
00:01:47.920 16 years.
00:01:48.840 How about the average time served by murderers in the good old U.S. of A?
00:01:55.900 Just 17 and a half years.
00:01:58.300 But the guy who ran the right-wing drinking club is getting 22 years for sending politically incorrect texts and social media posts.
00:02:07.500 Is texting out protest messages from a hotel room really worse than rape, human trafficking, child trafficking, and murder?
00:02:18.800 Objectively, no.
00:02:19.740 But subjectively, from the perspective of a regime that is struggling to maintain legitimacy among a public that on both sides, it's not just the conservatives, on the left too, trusts the system less and less each year, yes, it's much worse.
00:02:38.640 And our rulers are going to make sure that it is punished accordingly.
00:02:42.640 From that perspective, Tarrio should count his blessings for the sentence he got.
00:02:48.900 22 years is pretty rough.
00:02:51.380 But the prosecutions aren't over.
00:02:54.100 And 22 years is a walk in the park compared to the 700 years that Donald Trump is facing.
00:03:00.400 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:03:01.200 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:03:12.640 Welcome back to the show.
00:03:22.140 This episode is brought to you by GenuCell Skincare.
00:03:25.560 Say goodbye to dark and liver spots, bags and puffiness under the eyes.
00:03:30.680 Say goodbye to crow's feet.
00:03:31.860 Get ready to look as fresh and sexy as me by going to GenuCell.com slash Knowles.
00:03:38.580 We've got some breaking news coming in from Joy Behar and The View.
00:03:41.920 Donald Trump caused the flood at Burning Man.
00:03:44.960 We'll get to that in a moment.
00:03:46.000 First, though, while the ruling party is arresting and imprisoning the political dissidents with these huge sentences for meandering around the Capitol on January 6th,
00:03:59.860 often being let in by police officers, sometimes not even being in the city on January 6th.
00:04:04.020 While that's going on, that same ruling elite is also preparing to rig the election by doing COVID.
00:04:12.740 Again, the exact same thing that they did last time.
00:04:15.960 Only here there's a little twist.
00:04:17.620 While Lionsgate is leading Hollywood in bringing the masks back, while Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Rutgers University, while they're beginning to bring the masks back, you're hearing some talk of more vaccines, more masks.
00:04:31.560 Dr. Fauci goes on CNN and, shockingly, is grilled by the CNN host over the failures of his predictions and the inadequacy of the public health measures that he was peddling for years during COVID.
00:04:49.300 Brett Stevens in The Times talked about Cochran.
00:04:52.640 Put that on the screen.
00:04:54.040 The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illness, including COVID-19, was published last month.
00:05:04.380 Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist, who is the lead author, were unambiguous.
00:05:10.580 There is just no evidence that they, masks, make any difference, he told the journalist Mayenne Demasi.
00:05:16.660 Full stop.
00:05:18.220 But wait, hold on.
00:05:19.280 What about the N95 masks as opposed to the lower quality?
00:05:22.700 Surgical or cloth masks makes no difference.
00:05:25.600 None of it, he said.
00:05:26.800 Well, what about the studies that initially persuaded policymakers to impose mask mandates?
00:05:31.820 They were convinced by non-randomized studies, flawed observational studies.
00:05:36.740 How do we get beyond that finding of that particular review?
00:05:40.460 Yeah, but there are other studies, Michael, that show at an individual level for individual, when you're talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong.
00:05:55.120 Now, listen here, if we're talking about stopping the virus, then it didn't do jack diddly squat.
00:06:02.280 But on an individual level, somehow magically they work.
00:06:06.920 They don't work across populations or in studies or in your fancy science books.
00:06:12.740 But in my feelings for individuals with the magic spells and the witch doctors, then it totally, totally works.
00:06:21.320 Pretty, pretty weak defense to a devastating report read by a CNN anchor.
00:06:27.340 What's going on here?
00:06:29.040 CNN finally coming clean.
00:06:31.220 Are they going to be honest now?
00:06:32.660 Are they going to give up the nonsense about COVID?
00:06:34.860 No, no, no, to me, this interaction was similar to that scene in Star Wars when Darth Vader is walking on the Death Star and there's that lieutenant who messes something up and Darth Vader says, you have failed me for the last time, lieutenant.
00:06:55.000 That's what was going on here.
00:06:57.840 Dr. Fauci has failed the liberal establishment for the last time.
00:07:02.480 Dr. Fauci has no credibility.
00:07:05.300 Dr. Fauci has become a punchline.
00:07:07.800 And perhaps most importantly, Dr. Fauci is now out of the government.
00:07:12.260 He's no longer politically necessary for the liberals.
00:07:15.780 He's no longer politically useful to them.
00:07:19.220 He's a reminder that COVID was predicated on a bunch of incompetence at best and lies more likely.
00:07:27.920 Dr. Fauci has to go.
00:07:30.200 He was useful to the liberals for a time.
00:07:32.480 But now he's got to go.
00:07:34.120 And they don't need to prop him up.
00:07:36.300 Dr. Fauci needed to seem credible.
00:07:38.500 He needed to have the authority of the entire ruling class while he was running his part of the NIH.
00:07:44.580 Now he doesn't.
00:07:45.500 Now they can hang him out to dry.
00:07:48.300 And they're going to get some new guy in there.
00:07:49.960 But they're going to keep doing COVID.
00:07:51.840 They're ramping this up already.
00:07:54.180 And it's a gradual process.
00:07:55.280 And it's right on time.
00:07:56.780 COVID-19 occurred the year before 2020, the big election.
00:08:01.400 COVID-23 is showing up right on time to rig the 2024 election because COVID was the indispensable necessary ingredient to change all of the election rules, to open up widespread mail-in balloting, to open up the prospect of massive ballot harvesting, to do things that even Barack Obama 10 years ago admitted open up the system to voter fraud.
00:08:26.500 But it benefited the Democrats to do it in 2020.
00:08:29.220 It's benefiting the Democrats to do it now.
00:08:31.680 They're not giving up on their preposterous, unfalsifiable, silly arguments.
00:08:37.480 They're going to keep pushing the imminent climate apocalypse.
00:08:41.520 The world's going to end in 18 months if you don't stop driving your truck.
00:08:45.240 They're going to keep pushing the January 6th insurrection myth.
00:08:48.780 They're doing it, obviously.
00:08:49.580 They're throwing these guys in prison for multiple decades.
00:08:53.580 They're just going to be a little smarter about it.
00:08:56.480 And the people who have lost all of their credibility, those guys are going to be put out to pasture.
00:09:00.720 I really hope that the next guy to come in and run the COVID scam is a diminutive New Yorker of either Italian or Jewish background, hopefully from Brooklyn or Queens.
00:09:14.020 Because I've spent a long time working on that accent.
00:09:16.280 And so I really hope that I can carry it over.
00:09:18.840 But there's going to be a new guy, and it's going to be the exact same old story.
00:09:23.100 It's going to be the same type of voice, whether it's got the accent or not.
00:09:27.420 Now, this is the sort of thing that doesn't make me feel very good.
00:09:31.760 But I do want to look good.
00:09:32.920 And when you want to look good, you've got to check out GenuCell.

00:09:52.940 This stuff is fading, both of them.
00:09:54.560 This serum is worth every penny.

00:10:32.060 Say goodbye to dark and liver spots, bags, and puffiness under the eyes.
00:10:34.840 Grows feet at GenuCell.com slash Knowles.
00:10:37.060 GenuCell.com slash Knowles.
00:10:40.100 You don't need to take my word for it that they're doing COVID again.
00:10:43.380 Karine Jean-Pierre, press secretary over at the White House, has just announced Joe Biden is masking up.
00:10:51.920 President Biden tested negative last night for COVID-19 and tested negative again today.
00:10:57.740 He's not experiencing any symptoms.
00:10:59.700 As far as the steps he is taking, since the president was with the first lady yesterday,
00:11:05.240 he will be masking while indoors and around people in alignment with CDC guidance.
00:11:10.560 And as has been the practice in the past, the president will remove his mask when sufficiently distanced from others indoors and while outside as well.
00:11:20.940 So we've just heard from liberal news outlets from CNN that the masks do not work, according to scientists reported by the establishment journalists, the masks do not work.
00:11:32.760 And that's why Biden's going to wear the mask again.
00:11:35.200 What is this?
00:11:36.220 Just as with Fauci, throwing Fauci to the wolves, that was a limited hangout.
00:11:43.220 A limited hangout is this political strategy.
00:11:47.100 It's often associated with the intelligence community where when you're just caught, when they've just got you dead to rights, then you give your adversaries a little bit.
00:11:57.220 You chop off, you know, like an infected limb.
00:12:01.500 You give them just a little bit so that you can save the rest of your body.
00:12:05.020 So they give them Fauci, they save the rest of the liberal apparatus and the COVID regime.
00:12:09.540 Well, what's going on here is a similar kind of phenomenon.
00:12:13.380 It's just a little test.
00:12:15.580 Just like with Lionsgate, it was a little test.
00:12:18.520 If there's a headline that a major company is bringing back masks, are people going to be cool with that?
00:12:23.960 Some are going to criticize, but is it?
00:12:25.480 Are we going to, okay, all right, we're going to bring it back a little bit in Hollywood.
00:12:29.140 How about on campus?
00:12:30.120 Can we do campus again?
00:12:31.260 Okay.
00:12:32.220 Yeah, we'll do it some random college in Atlanta no one's ever heard of.
00:12:35.320 Okay, and we're going to, and you know what?
00:12:36.740 We're even going to say that we're going to have the masks for two weeks to slow the spread.
00:12:39.640 They use the exact same line.
00:12:42.120 They said 14 days, not two weeks.
00:12:44.080 14 days to slow the spread.
00:12:46.320 Okay, that's good.
00:12:47.160 Maybe we'll try Rutgers.
00:12:48.280 Okay, this is good.
00:12:49.000 What if we have the president just personally mask up?
00:12:52.140 Is that going to, okay.
00:12:54.260 All right.
00:12:54.800 Even it's in the face of all of the scientific evidence in our experience of the last three,
00:12:59.580 four years.
00:13:00.140 Okay, now let's do it in the media.
00:13:03.540 News report, Whoopi Goldberg has COVID.
00:13:06.920 Why she even tested for this?
00:13:08.580 I don't know.
00:13:09.220 I do know.
00:13:09.920 It's because they're bringing COVID back, and the political operatives are the ones pushing
00:13:14.800 this sort of thing, and the lemmings are going along with it.
00:13:18.180 She tests positive for COVID.
00:13:20.480 They announce it on the show.
00:13:21.840 Here's the reaction of the audience.
00:13:22.980 As you can see, Whoopi is not here.
00:13:26.720 She has COVID.
00:13:28.900 Yes.
00:13:29.560 It's back.
00:13:30.480 It's back.
00:13:31.240 It's back.
00:13:31.760 But she's on the men.
00:13:32.760 She's on the tail end, and she's probably back this week.
00:13:34.960 But I'm sorry she's not here for those of you who are looking forward to seeing her.
00:13:39.480 Oh, no.
00:13:40.360 Now, I don't know what impelled that reaction.
00:13:42.680 At talk shows like this, very often there are lights that'll go on.
00:13:46.320 Cheer, applaud, you know, that sort of thing.
00:13:48.640 I don't think they put a light on.
00:13:50.100 I think that was the natural reaction of the audience.
00:13:52.380 Okay, now that's being broadcast for everybody.
00:13:54.460 COVID is bad.
00:13:55.920 Initially, COVID was very scary.
00:13:57.260 It was going to kill us all.
00:13:58.720 Then we realized COVID was much less dangerous than anybody suggested it was.
00:14:02.680 Then we found out that all the precautions didn't really do anything.
00:14:05.840 Then we found out the vaccines didn't really work.
00:14:08.340 But now we're back in the cycle.
00:14:10.160 Now we're back to COVID is really dangerous.
00:14:11.860 Oh, no.
00:14:12.720 Whoopi Goldberg has COVID.
00:14:15.080 She'll be back soon.
00:14:16.040 But it's back.
00:14:19.600 That's the announcement.
00:14:20.660 That's the declaration.
00:14:21.480 So now we've got it in business.
00:14:23.780 We've got it in Hollywood.
00:14:24.840 We've got it in the news media.
00:14:26.260 We've got it on campus.
00:14:27.620 We've got it at the White House.
00:14:30.120 Most sectors of society have bought back into
00:14:35.700 the COVID narrative.
00:14:37.060 And so this will build up until the election.
00:14:40.780 And it's not going to stop with the masks.
00:14:42.380 And it's not going to stop with the social distancing,
00:14:44.140 which was also debunked.
00:14:45.800 They want you to get another booster shot.
00:14:49.200 Quick, if you will.
00:14:50.420 Who needs to get a booster and when?
00:14:53.660 So all of us need boosters.
00:14:55.540 So six months of age and up.
00:14:57.460 We're going to have boosters by the end of this month, hopefully.
00:15:00.780 And those will protect, we believe,
00:15:02.660 very strongly against these new versions of the virus.
00:15:05.700 They believe very strongly.
00:15:08.280 So, you know, inject your six-month-old with this experimental drug
00:15:13.220 that didn't do any of the things they told us it would do.
00:15:16.420 Didn't stop people from catching COVID.
00:15:17.960 Didn't stop people from spreading COVID.
00:15:19.700 Was not nearly as safe as they told us it was.
00:15:22.240 There were such serious side effects that they had to shut down the vaccines
00:15:25.080 for different periods of time.
00:15:26.860 They had to deny the side effects like myocarditis, pericarditis,
00:15:31.920 the nerve damage, really bad side effects.
00:15:35.480 Blood clots, obviously, in the Johnson & Johnson and others.
00:15:39.140 And then it didn't work.
00:15:40.380 Remember, it didn't actually do it.
00:15:41.620 So they had to change the script.
00:15:42.620 They said, well, no, vaccines weren't supposed to prevent you from catching COVID.
00:15:46.180 It was to mitigate the risk of death.
00:15:49.040 But, you know, look, we've all seen the tapes a million times.
00:15:52.240 They told us that it was going to stop us from catching COVID.
00:15:54.460 Told us it was going to stop us from spreading it.
00:15:56.000 And then they had to change the story when they had egg on their face.
00:15:58.060 But this doctor says, hey, don't worry.
00:16:00.140 I feel really good about this one.
00:16:02.340 I feel really good.
00:16:04.100 And you know what?
00:16:05.360 People are going to get it.
00:16:07.180 People are going to get this stupid booster.
00:16:10.120 A lot of people are going to get it.
00:16:11.660 Because it's just like every other pseudo-scientific liberal political operation.
00:16:21.880 Anything that happens is said to be an argument for going along with it.
00:16:28.880 The vaccines work?
00:16:30.800 Oh, good.
00:16:31.780 Everybody's got to get one.
00:16:33.900 The vaccines don't work?
00:16:35.580 Well, you better get your booster.
00:16:37.560 Yeah, because the first one didn't work.
00:16:38.820 So you got to get your booster.
00:16:39.740 Sure, climate change is happening.
00:16:44.160 It's going to kill us all.
00:16:45.340 The earth is getting much hotter.
00:16:47.520 It's really hot in the summer.
00:16:48.860 So that's climate change.
00:16:51.560 Oh, it's cold, actually, when it was supposed to be hot.
00:16:53.700 Well, that's climate change, too.
00:16:55.300 Well, actually, the climate hasn't really changed all that much.
00:16:57.460 I know we're in this plateau, this stasis right now.
00:17:00.120 That's the evidence of climate change.
00:17:02.960 Oh, there was a storm.
00:17:04.840 There was a hurricane in Florida.
00:17:06.580 We've never seen one of those.
00:17:07.740 It's climate change.
00:17:08.700 Anything that happens, anything, is taken to be evidence.
00:17:14.820 And people go along with this because they've reached their conclusion and they backfill the evidence.
00:17:21.460 And also in this case, because it's just so politically helpful to Democrats to do COVID in a way that it can't be politically helpful to Republicans.
00:17:29.740 One, because Democrats are just much better at rigging elections by stuffing the ballot box.
00:17:35.420 And this has been true for 100 years.
00:17:37.600 FDR and LBJ used to joke about this.
00:17:41.300 No one ever even accuses Republicans of doing that.
00:17:43.800 The accusation that comes from the Democrats is that Republicans steal elections by kicking people off the voter rolls, which I don't think is fair or true.
00:17:52.220 But that's the best accusation they can make against us for rigging elections.
00:17:56.240 But the accusation that we make against them that they even joke about is that they rig the elections by stuffing the ballot box and filling up the voter rolls with dead people, with illegal aliens, with voters who have never even seen their ballot.
00:18:08.660 And the other structural reason why the lockdowns and the widespread mail-ins are always going to help the Democrats more than the Republicans is the Democrats run the cities.
00:18:18.360 It's much easier to have a political machine in a city.
00:18:21.280 And two, because Democrats live in the cities and Republicans tend to live in the country, Democrats can hit up three old age homes and get about a bazillion ballots for their candidate through ballot harvesting and mail-ins in the time it takes a Republican to go to five houses in the country.
00:18:38.360 The geography is just, it's just completely different.
00:18:43.520 So there is not enough time for the Republicans to ballot harvest properly.
00:18:48.880 And so because of that, because it gives the Democrats such a political advantage, you're going to see people who maybe they care about COVID, maybe they don't, maybe they just do whatever the New York Times tells them to do.
00:18:57.480 They're going to go along with it because intuitively they know this is going to help them.
00:19:03.140 Now, speaking of climate change and Joy Behar, moving off of COVID for a second, moving off of January 6th and 2024, you know they blame Trump for everything.
00:19:19.040 They blame him for every little thing that's ever happened.
00:19:21.020 Now they're blaming him for the flood at Burning Man.

00:20:45.480 You saw that flood at Burning Man.
00:20:47.080 We talked about it a little bit yesterday.
00:20:49.940 70,000 people trapped because as a general rule, again, I don't want to read too much into it necessarily.
00:20:56.720 It's generally a good idea to avoid traveling to the desert for week-long drug-fueled Bacchanalian orgies that culminate in the worship of a giant fiery idol.
00:21:11.800 I would just avoid that.
00:21:13.500 I'm not saying you're going to get flooded out every time you do that, but it has been known to happen once or twice.
00:21:20.520 So, what's the cause of the flooding, according to The View?
00:21:26.080 Donald Trump.
00:21:27.500 This is one of the many tragedies this summer due to climate change.
00:21:32.660 This isn't one of those.
00:21:33.940 They better deal with this.
00:21:35.660 This is the number one existential problem.
00:21:38.480 It rained three months worth over 24 hours.
00:21:41.180 But when I hear Republicans say, oh, it's not man-made, it's not about fossil fuels.
00:21:45.700 You know, when Trump was president, all of that went up.
00:21:47.920 The fossil fuel usage went up.
00:21:49.560 And the regulations went down.
00:21:51.840 Please don't vote for him.
00:21:52.940 I'm begging you.
00:21:54.120 Get him out of here.
00:21:55.160 He's so dangerous.
00:21:57.600 Droughts?
00:21:59.100 Climate change.
00:22:00.360 Floods?
00:22:01.740 Climate change.
00:22:03.220 Fire?
00:22:04.600 That's climate change.
00:22:06.260 Freeze?
00:22:07.420 That's climate change.
00:22:09.700 You stubbed your toe this morning getting out of bed?
00:22:11.380 That's climate change.
00:22:14.200 The liberals accuse us of worshiping Donald Trump, of being in a cult.
00:22:20.120 Following the leader, Donald Trump.
00:22:24.160 I would never attribute the power of the weather to Donald Trump.
00:22:29.140 I like the guy, obviously.
00:22:30.340 I admire him.
00:22:31.120 Best president of my lifetime.
00:22:32.040 But I don't have such an outsized view of his influence that I attribute to him the powers of lightning and thunder and rain in the desert.
00:22:44.900 People who attribute those godlike powers to Donald Trump are entirely on the left.
00:22:50.900 Now, speaking of God and Burning Man, Mike Lee, I just got to point out, I've mentioned it a number of times before, Mike Lee is just one of the best senators we have.
00:23:01.100 He's just one of the best politicians.
00:23:03.180 He is a super smart guy.
00:23:07.060 He's extremely principled.
00:23:09.560 He comports himself in a responsible way and is just all around a very serious guy.
00:23:18.660 And he just gets it, man.
00:23:22.260 You know, Mike Lee's Twitter handle is based Mike Lee.
00:23:26.900 And I thought it was kind of a joke at first.
00:23:28.720 I didn't actually think that it was Mike, but it is.
00:23:31.900 And, you know, you think because he's buttoned up and Mormon and a constitutional lawyer and really polite and everything that he's just going to be a wallflower or something.
00:23:42.880 But he's not.
00:23:43.900 And especially on social and cultural, even religious issues, he digs down really deep and doesn't back down.
00:23:50.920 So when the news of Burning Man came out, Mike Lee just tweets out, he goes, this is not healthy.
00:23:59.220 God's judgment is real, which is true.
00:24:03.560 Fact check, 100% true.
00:24:05.380 Show me the lie.
00:24:06.340 You can't do it.
00:24:07.980 Now, what he was responding to, by the way, was not just news of the flooding.
00:24:12.560 It was news of what was going on before the flooding.
00:24:16.100 And this is a family show, so I can't read much of this on the air.
00:24:23.120 This is a headline.
00:24:25.020 Wildest Burning Man events.
00:24:28.760 No, I actually can't read any of it.
00:24:30.900 It's all just super, super weird sex stuff that involves, like, groups of men standing around naked and whippings and naked oil wrestling and hypnosis circles.
00:24:45.100 And, man, I am cleaning this up so much that you probably have no idea what I'm talking about.
00:24:50.120 You can go read it at the Daily Star.
00:24:53.700 This is really depraved, decadent stuff.
00:24:59.020 And the thing that's most striking about it is not that weirdos will go to the desert and do weird drugs and sex stuff.
00:25:04.920 It's that, according to the elite, if you go to this, according to the elite, if you drive out to the middle of the desert and do a ton of drugs and have all sorts of weird orgies with people of both sexes and everything in between,
00:25:19.520 and then worship a giant burning idol and then go home after nine days, you are cultured and sophisticated.
00:25:28.620 You're really, you're avant-garde.
00:25:32.280 You're progressive.
00:25:33.680 You're thinking ahead of all those rubes.
00:25:36.400 And if you go to church, you're in a cult.
00:25:39.100 And if you vote for a Republican, you're in a cult.
00:25:42.960 You're a weirdo.
00:25:43.780 You're totally crazy.
00:25:49.120 Hypnosis, naked, oil wrestling, daily whippings in the desert.
00:25:54.440 Posh.
00:25:55.540 You know, that's just what the elites do.
00:25:57.160 That's just what we do.
00:25:57.880 Do you remember, Dominique Strauss-Kahn was that big financial muckety-muck.
00:26:05.040 This was now, we're going back like 20 years.
00:26:06.900 But it was the first one of these guys in my lifetime who was one of the big, you know, the people at the big institutions like the IMF or the UN or the WTO or these big, massive institutions who got caught doing really weird sex stuff.
00:26:23.920 And his defense was, oh, no, I don't go to that many orgies.
00:26:27.020 You know, oh, no, I don't go to this many.
00:26:28.920 And then the story came out during the Hunter Biden investigation that there's this really elite sex club in L.A.
00:26:36.680 Maybe it's in New York, too, with movie stars and politicians and all.
00:26:41.120 Do you remember Madison Cawthorne?
00:26:43.340 He basically got run out of Congress for blowing the whistle on eyes wide shut parties in our nation's capital.
00:26:50.580 You know, the home of our sacred temple of democracy, the most pristine light of democracy ever in the history of the world.
00:26:55.260 And then, of course, there was Jeffrey Epstein when we found out that the supposedly conspiratorial QAnon whatever theory that the elites run this underage sex ring is not only not a conspiracy theory, but they've got their own island.
00:27:10.420 And it involves not only elected heads of state, but also members of the royal family and also huge business leaders.
00:27:18.060 And it's all real.
00:27:21.140 It's difficult for me to even wrap my head around it now, having seen all of the evidence for years and years and years now.
00:27:26.380 I guess that's just the way it works in this world, because the devil is the prince of this world, and we struggle not against flesh, but against principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places.
00:27:38.420 And in that world, we talked about a book yesterday by the Italian general, Roberto Venacci, called The World Upside Down.
00:27:43.900 In that upside-down world, if you go do weird, bacchanalian, drug orgy, idol worship stuff in the desert, you're normal.
00:27:53.760 And if you just have a normal family, and you go to church, and you're crazy.
00:27:58.180 It's like the Munsters.
00:27:59.120 You remember the Munsters TV show?
00:28:00.800 I'm really dating myself as a millennial who watched reruns in the 90s on Nick at Night.
00:28:05.060 But in the Munsters, you've got all these crazy monsters who are in the family, and there's one hot blonde girl.
00:28:10.280 And the hot blonde girl thinks that she's ugly, because her environment is such that she's surrounded by monsters all the time.
00:28:16.220 And so her perception is that she's the abnormal one.
00:28:18.700 And that's how I think us conservatives, that's how we feel now.
00:28:23.200 Am I crazy?
00:28:24.280 Am I the crazy one because I don't go to the orgies in the desert?
00:28:27.160 Maybe.
00:28:28.240 According to the wisdom of this world, I guess I am.
00:28:29.860 Speaking of faith, faith in college education has completely collapsed in the United States.
00:28:38.420 Public opinion polls about 10, 13 years ago all had the same story.
00:28:45.440 And the story was Americans believe in college.
00:28:49.180 86% of college graduates around 2010, 2012 said that college had been a good investment.
00:28:55.520 Another survey said 74% of young adults viewed college education as very important.
00:29:02.360 A third one said 60% of Americans, in total, across the board, said colleges and universities were having a positive impact on the country.
00:29:10.680 In 2009, this was right around the time I went to college, I went to college in 2008,
00:29:16.520 70% of high school graduates went straight to college.
00:29:22.000 70%.
00:29:22.680 That was an all-time high in American history.
00:29:24.560 And this was heralded as a wonderful thing.
00:29:28.600 Now the trend is totally reversed.
00:29:30.520 And I think that that's a much better thing.
00:29:33.140 Now, the percentage of young adults who say college degree is very important has gone from 74% to 41%.
00:29:39.840 A third of Americans say they have confidence in higher education.
00:29:43.380 Among Zoomers, 45%, almost half of Zoomers say a high school diploma is all you need to ensure financial security.
00:29:49.460 And almost half of American parents say they don't want their kid to go to college.
00:29:57.620 A total collapse.
00:29:59.340 How did that happen?
00:30:01.280 Well, what the liberals will say is, this is backsliding.
00:30:05.180 This is regressive.
00:30:06.140 This is the consequence of the anti-intellectual Trump era in which Trump brazenly said that he loves the uneducated.
00:30:14.600 We're just going to hell in a handbasket.
00:30:17.740 No, no, I don't think that's quite the story.
00:30:20.180 I think the story is that you can't hide a fraud forever.
00:30:24.780 Even the best con artist in the world can't hide his crimes forever.
00:30:31.620 Eventually, Bernie Madoff is going to get caught.
00:30:34.220 And the colleges are Bernie Madoff.
00:30:36.060 It's been a complete racket.
00:30:38.420 What these colleges and the apparatchiks in government who boosted these colleges by underwriting all of the loans that allowed the tuitions to skyrocket,
00:30:47.520 what they promised was that if you come here, if you send your kid here, your kid is going to turn out better.
00:30:55.320 And the initial promise, the real promise of a liberal education, in the good sense of the word liberal,
00:31:02.240 is that you learn to make sense of your freedom and you steep yourself in the culture of your civilization.
00:31:08.100 And you learn how to think about abstract things.
00:31:11.160 And then you can go on and get job training and have a good career.
00:31:13.580 Then, when that didn't materialize, the pitch for college became, hey, come here and you'll get a good job.
00:31:19.800 Which was never what university education was about.
00:31:22.380 It was never about job training at all.
00:31:23.980 But they realized, okay, well, we're obviously not teaching our kids to think in an abstract way.
00:31:28.140 The standards at the colleges have absolutely cratered.
00:31:30.460 So, okay, well, don't worry.
00:31:31.440 You're at least going to get a job.
00:31:32.440 This is a credential that you need to get a good, high-paying job.
00:31:36.000 And then that kind of cratered, too.
00:31:40.460 Now kids go.
00:31:41.420 And all the while, by the way, the cost has gone up to now, what, a quarter million dollars to get a four-year college degree at some places?
00:31:48.000 And what's the payoff?
00:31:49.920 There is no payoff.
00:31:51.540 You don't get any intellectual or spiritual payoff.
00:31:56.020 You don't even get a financial payoff.
00:31:58.820 It's just a big skim.
00:32:00.600 Oh, and by the way, your kids come out of college hating you.
00:32:03.700 Because the college spends four years undoing everything that you spent 18 years trying to instill into your children.
00:32:08.660 And because of the way our economy works now, you probably didn't get a whole ton of time to spend with your children because it's very hard to raise a family on one income.
00:32:17.360 So both parents now usually have to work.
00:32:19.440 So the kids end up getting raised by daycare workers and by public school teachers from the age of – it used to be five.
00:32:27.380 Now it's really from the age of three or even two.
00:32:29.860 I have friends who have two-year-olds.
00:32:31.120 They say, I'm sending my kid to school now at the age of two.
00:32:34.160 And so you've already got such an uphill battle.
00:32:36.900 And then the colleges come and finish it off.
00:32:38.800 And the parents and the students are saying, enough.
00:32:41.100 What's the benefit for?
00:32:42.120 This is the conservative consolation, which is things are really bad.
00:32:48.100 And they might get worse.
00:32:50.460 And they might get even worse than that.
00:32:53.340 But reality reasserts itself eventually in the end.
00:32:56.820 It has to.
00:32:57.480 You can't – it is not possible to deny reality forever.
00:33:02.440 Now, speaking of political realities, we've got some new poll numbers out on the 2024 presidential race.
00:33:08.940 And, you know, I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so.
00:33:14.180 We'll get to that in one second.
00:33:15.080 First, though, we have a very exciting offer coming for all of our Daily Wire members.

00:33:33.800 Part of me don't want to believe that he did this.
00:33:35.960 The blood that was on that back area was indicative of a head wound.
00:33:40.260 My brother likes to push a lot of people around.
00:33:43.000 I don't give a f*** about anything.
00:33:44.580 I ain't gotta listen to nobody.
00:33:46.220 How were these filmmakers able to convince so many people that a man like Stephen Avery is innocent?
00:33:52.140 How many times did he stab her?
00:33:55.260 Once.
00:33:56.640 And show me where.
00:33:58.080 Right here.
00:33:59.060 They gave him power.
00:34:00.040 They're trying to get everything around me that they can.
00:34:02.020 It's not good for an Avery to have power.
00:34:04.580 I told you all along.
00:34:05.960 I keep your f*** about shot.
00:34:07.400 That can hurt Stephen.
00:34:08.960 I'm not in the life form no more.
00:34:10.380 I can't do it.

00:34:59.380 My favorite comment yesterday is from Steven Arapezzo, who says,
00:35:04.620 Burning Man describes the STDs everyone leaves with.
00:35:09.300 So true.
00:35:10.660 Maybe Burning Man was the friends we made along the way.
00:35:14.440 Those friends were venereal diseases.
00:35:17.920 Very true.

00:35:50.240 We're talking about poll numbers.
00:35:51.960 Let's turn to 2024.
00:35:52.920 2024 is a poll published by the Wall Street Journal showing that Donald Trump is now the top choice of 59% of GOP primary voters.
00:36:02.420 This is up 11 percentage points since April.
00:36:06.160 According to the Journal, the new survey finds what was once a two-man race for the nomination has collapsed into a lopsided contest in which Trump, for now, has no formidable challenger.
00:36:19.280 I know that this is going to upset people who are campaigning for Ron DeSantis.
00:36:25.560 I really like Ron DeSantis.
00:36:27.420 I've gotten to spend a little bit of time with him.
00:36:29.340 Very impressed with the guy.
00:36:30.360 I think he's a terrific governor.
00:36:31.900 Admire him greatly.
00:36:32.660 I have noticed, maybe this was inevitable, some campaigners for Ron DeSantis are shooting the messenger here because these numbers are not looking great.
00:36:49.080 And people are conflating two different types of discussion of the 2024 race, the descriptive discussion and the prescriptive discussion.
00:37:00.220 So I've made clear, unlike some of my friends and colleagues, and I guess basically everybody in conservative media, I have no interest in endorsing anybody in this race.
00:37:12.180 I like both of these guys.
00:37:13.660 I like Donald Trump a lot.
00:37:14.720 I like Ron DeSantis a lot.
00:37:16.060 I think they got thick skin.
00:37:17.360 I think they can duke it out.
00:37:18.480 I like primaries.
00:37:19.480 I like when conservatives toughen each other up.
00:37:22.360 And there are other candidates too.
00:37:23.280 Vivek, obviously, is a friend of mine, and other candidates as well.
00:37:26.680 It seems to me from the beginning simply a descriptive fact that it's been Trump's race from the beginning, that all of the factors here, not the least of which is, this is the first time since 1892 that we have had a president running for a non-consecutive second term, that it was always Trump's race.
00:37:49.580 And so I've been pointing this out.
00:37:52.760 And I've been pointing out also some flaws, I think, with the DeSantis campaign, things that are not helping DeSantis.
00:37:58.960 I want to be very clear here.
00:38:00.380 I'm not casting a moral judgment on the DeSantis campaign or on the Trump campaign.
00:38:06.340 Sometimes people have written in and said, Michael, why don't you call out the Trump campaign for all the mean, nasty, awful things they're doing?
00:38:13.300 Because I'm not talking about mean, nasty, awful things, period.
00:38:18.440 I'm not – if I were to lambast a campaign as a matter of a moral judgment, that would be tantamount to making an endorsement.
00:38:26.820 I'm not doing that.
00:38:28.140 I'm describing the campaign tactics from the perspective of their efficacy in the campaign.
00:38:34.500 And it is an indisputable fact that the DeSantis campaign has not been effective.
00:38:38.440 And I think there are specific things that they have done that have harmed their campaign.
00:38:43.640 I think they've shot themselves in the foot in some ways.
00:38:45.740 But even beyond that, I think that the circumstances of the race have been such that it was always going to be a long shot.
00:38:53.900 And it's not that he's out of the race yet.
00:38:56.300 It's not that the race is totally over.
00:38:58.420 I mean, 59% is a pretty crazy number.
00:39:00.680 It means the entire GOP field could drop out other than one guy, and it still wouldn't be close.
00:39:06.260 That is – if that fact drives you crazy, then you've got to stop paying attention to politics.
00:39:15.220 Unless you're an active campaign worker, you've got to stop paying – if it drives you crazy to watch politics happen, to watch primary campaigns take place and occur and the ups and the downs, then find another hobby.
00:39:28.900 You can't – there's not – you're not going to affect the race in any way.
00:39:31.740 You're just going to pull your hair out.
00:39:32.680 It's like watching a baseball game and screaming at the TV and thinking that if you rub your head and pat your belly, then Derek Jeter is going to hit a home run.
00:39:40.200 That's not going to happen.
00:39:41.580 You're not going to change the outcome of the game.
00:39:44.220 You're only going to upset yourself.
00:39:48.520 The Trump campaign has been effective.
00:39:52.600 The DeSantis campaign has not been effective.
00:39:54.480 If DeSantis wants to turn this around before the Iowa caucuses, DeSantis has to radically change his campaign.
00:40:03.860 And even then, it might not work because I – again, I don't even really blame the campaign or DeSantis that much.
00:40:09.060 I just think the circumstances are such that this is a primary unlike any we've ever seen.
00:40:13.260 But if DeSantis wants to have a shot, he has got to radically change his campaign.
00:40:19.720 Fifty-nine percent, man, that is a really big number.
00:40:24.640 Now, turning to the other party, there is another potential candidate in the race.
00:40:30.660 No, I'm not talking about Bobby Kennedy.
00:40:32.220 No, I'm not talking about Marianne Williamson.
00:40:33.800 One, I'm talking about old father time himself, the man who has run for office consistently since, what, 1972?
00:40:46.760 Just like Joe Biden, actually.
00:40:48.300 Same year Biden got elected.
00:40:50.420 I'm talking about Bernie Sanders.
00:40:52.700 The president has a right to be very proud of many of the accomplishments that we've achieved in the last three years.
00:41:00.420 Unemployment, very, very low.
00:41:01.920 We've brought inflation down.
00:41:03.200 We're investing in clean energy.
00:41:05.680 We're rebuilding our infrastructure.
00:41:07.840 We have made real progress in a number of areas.
00:41:10.700 But the reality is that today, 60 percent of our people are living paycheck to paycheck.
00:41:17.720 We have massive levels of income and wealth inequality.
00:41:21.420 Three people or more wealth in the bottom half of America.
00:41:25.000 Our health care system is a total disaster.
00:41:28.280 Eighty-five million people uninsured, uninsured, underinsured.
00:41:31.540 While the insurance companies make huge profits, the cost of pharmaceutical drugs, prescription drugs, sky high.
00:41:39.600 Bernie Sanders traveling up to New Hampshire delivering a speech called the Agenda America Needs.
00:41:46.900 Bernie Sanders has been running for office since 1972.
00:41:51.760 Is it really so crazy to think he might run again?
00:41:54.640 Why not?
00:41:55.840 The two leading candidates, the leading candidate for each party right now is rather elderly, a gentleman of a certain age.
00:42:02.220 And Bernie's been running his whole life, consistently since 1972.
00:42:07.700 He ran for nine years, starting in 1972.
00:42:11.500 He didn't even get elected to anything until 1981.
00:42:13.820 He becomes mayor of Burlington.
00:42:15.440 Ten years later, elected to Congress.
00:42:17.200 15, 16 years later, he gets elected to the Senate, runs for president the last two times.
00:42:23.700 Why wouldn't he run now?
00:42:25.360 Plus, in a way, the wind is at Bernie's back because he was one of the early populist candidates.
00:42:31.180 Don't forget, Bernie, for all of his wickedness and for embracing socialism, which is an evil ideology and completely unacceptable for any conservative or Christian, certainly, to embrace.
00:42:42.380 Bernie was not just a lockstep Democrat.
00:42:45.960 Bernie was not as anti-gun as most Democrats.
00:42:49.740 He changed a little bit in the presidential campaigns, but he wasn't as anti-gun because he's from Vermont.
00:42:53.840 And he was pretty strongly anti-immigration because Bernie's an old-school economic populist.
00:43:00.900 And he recognizes that mass migration is a scam.
00:43:05.880 It's a scam by the left to increase their voter numbers.
00:43:09.260 But it's a scam by the business right, the chamber of commerce type right, to lower wages for the working class.
00:43:15.520 So Bernie, being a working class fighter, at least in his own mind, he was opposed to immigration.
00:43:20.880 But he's kind of been dethroned as a populist.
00:43:24.080 He made populism his whole career, and then Trump came in and ate his lunch.
00:43:27.800 And now in the Democrat Party, Bobby Kennedy is probably taking that lane as well.
00:43:32.920 Now, all of this leads up to a potential government shutdown in D.C.
00:43:40.060 And usually, in these circumstances, it's the conservatives who want to shut down the government, the liberals who want to keep the government operating.
00:43:46.520 This time, though, the situation might be flipped.
00:43:50.300 And that will be my little tease for tomorrow.
00:43:52.460 I'm sorry.
00:43:52.980 Look, I don't mean to tease you.
00:43:55.120 But there's only so much time, okay?
00:43:57.480 And we have to get to the member block.
00:43:59.340 Today is Woke Wednesday.
00:44:01.020 We are combining Woke Wednesday with the Tuesday show, which is of an ideology that I cannot name on YouTube because we moved that Tuesday show of the ideology that I can't name on YouTube to today after Music Monday moved to Tuesday.
00:44:17.720 It's Labor Day really messed up a lot of this week.
00:44:19.660 The show continues now.
