Summary

Former Vice President Joe Biden drops out of the 2020 Democratic presidential race. It's the strangest dropping out imaginable, like when LBJ announced his decision to not run for re-election in 1968. And it's no coincidence that Biden is now an elder statesman in his 90s.

00:00:35.700 Good Ranchers, American meat delivered.
00:00:37.680 It takes a big man, a big, handsome, swarthy man to admit when he's wrong.
00:00:44.080 I said as recently as late last week that I thought that there was still a chance,
00:00:49.100 despite all reports to the contrary, that Biden would choose to stay in the 2024 race.
00:00:53.960 And yesterday, Biden dropped out of the race.
00:00:57.780 Now, in my defense, I'm saying it looks like I was wrong.
00:01:01.480 In my defense, there is still no proof that Biden knows that he has dropped out.
00:01:06.960 It was the strangest dropping out imaginable.
00:01:10.620 When LBJ declined to run for re-election in 68, he announced it from the Oval Office.
00:01:16.600 With Biden, we haven't actually seen or heard from him.
00:01:19.500 A staffer just posted an image of a letter supposedly written by Biden to Biden's social media channels
00:01:26.640 while Biden is locked away in his private home in Delaware in quarantine for a mild cold
00:01:33.160 without much, if any, contact with anyone.
00:01:36.280 But whether Joe knows it or not, he has been dropped out of the race.
00:01:40.880 And we will get into what that means in a moment.
00:01:43.060 But I don't want you to lose sight of the big story here.
00:01:47.260 The big story is not that a senile man won't run to be president at 86 years old.
00:01:52.660 The big story, the scary story, is the persistent power of the establishment media.
00:01:59.540 We, in the conservative and independent media, like to flatter ourselves
00:02:03.660 that the old establishment media has been eclipsed,
00:02:07.480 rendered impotent by podcasts and live streams and tweets.
00:02:11.060 But look at what the old guard did.
00:02:14.720 Three years ago, when Joe Biden was showing obvious signs of dementia,
00:02:19.060 the establishment media lied and told everyone it was a childhood stutter.
00:02:23.780 And Biden became president.
00:02:26.260 Last month, the media criticized Biden for the first time ever.
00:02:31.120 And within three weeks, Biden was no longer running for re-election.
00:02:35.100 And the media didn't criticize Biden because they suddenly contracted some integrity.
00:02:39.000 They did it because they felt that the entire liberal establishment
00:02:43.480 stood to gain more by ditching him.
00:02:46.960 Vice President Kamala Harris is now the presumptive Democrat nominee.
00:02:50.600 And some Republicans are happy because no one likes her,
00:02:54.300 and she doesn't seem to know anything,
00:02:55.960 and she only has about 100 days to campaign.
00:02:57.960 But if the media could make and break Joe Biden at will,
00:03:03.780 Republicans would be crazy not to recognize that they might well pull it off again.
00:03:09.240 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:03:10.020 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:03:10.860 Welcome back to the show.
00:03:32.240 Forget about the presidential race for a second,
00:03:34.520 or forget about the people running in the presidential race.
00:03:36.720 We also need to keep our eyes on this U.S. Secret Service story,
00:03:40.840 the fact that the Secret Service director will not resign
00:03:43.460 after she failed to secure President Trump,
00:03:47.780 and the man came within a quarter of an inch of his head being blown off,
00:03:52.180 refusing to answer questions.
00:03:54.320 Now, apparently, the Secret Service bureaucracy lying
00:03:58.240 about whether or not there were requests for additional security from Trump.
00:04:03.040 And we'll get into all of that in just a moment.
00:04:06.320 First, make sure that your environment smells really lovely
00:04:10.440 when you're listening to the show.
00:04:11.860 Make sure it smells like a Sicilian summer over at thecandleclub.com.
00:04:14.940 If you would prefer that your homes smell like a 12th century monastery,
00:04:18.200 you can also get the wise man candle, which is my favorite.
00:04:22.400 We know Biden called it quits.
00:04:23.860 The fight for America is still on.
00:04:25.000 This election is pivotal.
00:04:26.020 You need the truth now more than ever.
00:04:27.380 That's where we come in.
00:04:28.320 Daily Wire gives you uncensored truth.

00:04:34.540 Join us as we fight the left and build the future.
00:04:37.740 There's so much more to say.
00:04:38.780 First, though, text Knowles to 989898.
00:04:42.300 Saudi Arabia recently ended its 50-year petrodollar deal with the U.S.,
00:04:46.560 which has the potential to weaken the U.S. dollar.
00:04:49.120 Since 1974, Saudi Arabia has sold oil exclusively in U.S. dollars.
00:04:53.320 This was huge for our global economic dominance.
00:04:55.820 If there is less demand for the U.S. dollar, what happens to its value?
00:05:00.560 It is for reasons like this that it is important to diversify some of your savings into gold,
00:05:05.380 and you can do that with the help of Birch Gold.
00:05:07.200 Right now, qualifying purchases by July 31st are eligible to get a one-of-a-kind,
00:05:11.580 limited-edition, golden truth bomb.
00:05:14.160 The only way to claim your eligibility is by texting Knowles, K-N-A-W-L-E-S, to 989898.
00:05:20.940 Protect your savings by diversifying away from the U.S. dollar with gold.
00:05:24.500 I have a decent portion of my portfolio in gold, and I'm glad to do.
00:05:28.860 Text Knowles, K-N-A-W-L-E-S, to 989898.
00:05:31.940 Birch Gold will help you convert an old IRA or 401k into an IRA in gold for no money out of pocket.
00:05:37.620 Right now, qualifying purchases will get a limited-edition, golden truth bomb.
00:05:40.540 Text Knowles, K-N-A-W-L-E-S, to 989898.
00:05:43.340 That is Knowles, to 989898.
00:05:46.800 He's out.
00:05:48.120 Now, the media are largely responsible for this.
00:05:51.600 However, I think we have to give a big round of applause to President Trump.
00:05:58.100 This all began because Trump destroyed Biden in a debate.
00:06:03.560 That was it.
00:06:04.120 The debate exposed the media as having been liars.
00:06:07.160 They lied about Biden's dementia.
00:06:09.220 They lied about his fitness for office.
00:06:10.960 That embarrassed them.
00:06:12.540 It also exposed the whole game, so they had to try to move to replace him.
00:06:16.380 And they took it so far that there was really no way for Biden to continue to run.
00:06:21.540 It was this game of chicken where they were just destroying each other.
00:06:25.120 And ultimately, Biden blinked first.
00:06:27.520 But it started with that debate.
00:06:30.360 Trump won that debate so hard, so decisively, that his opponent, the sitting President of the United States, is no longer running for President.
00:06:41.500 That's got to be a first in American history.
00:06:44.360 That's very, very impressive.
00:06:48.480 The liberal establishment took a gamble on that because Biden's poll numbers weren't that great.
00:06:52.400 So Biden challenged Trump to the debate.
00:06:54.520 He did so in a way that I think they all believed would lead Trump to either refuse or to try to negotiate on the terms, which seemed to be advantageous to Biden.
00:07:04.240 But Trump didn't do that.
00:07:05.420 He accepted the terms as they were.
00:07:06.800 He called Biden's bluff, and then the gamble didn't pay off, so then they had to fly into overdrive and replace Biden, which is what they were doing.
00:07:14.260 Biden did that through a letter.
00:07:16.980 No evidence that he wrote a single syllable of this letter.
00:07:20.060 There's no direct evidence that he even knows this letter went up.
00:07:23.220 But the strangest part of the letter comes in paragraph 1, 2, 3, 4.
00:07:28.520 It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president, and while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interests of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.
00:07:42.440 Wait, what?
00:07:42.960 He's acknowledging that he's not going to run for re-election.
00:07:48.300 This is different from LBJ.
00:07:49.600 It's not that he's going to drop out of the race because the numbers just aren't there or because Vietnam got a little too hot and it's hurt his standing in public opinion.
00:08:00.180 He is not running for re-election because he's too old, because he's too senile, because he obviously has dementia.
00:08:07.200 So if he's too senile and frail and demented to run for president, how is he fit to be president?
00:08:15.960 It doesn't make any sense.
00:08:17.880 The guy will stay in office, according to this letter, until January.
00:08:23.620 Nobody thinks he's fit to be in office today.
00:08:25.740 Nobody thought he was fit to be in office.
00:08:27.600 Sorry, no sensible people who were paying attention and honest with themselves thought he was fit to be in office six months ago, maybe three years ago.
00:08:35.560 What?
00:08:37.760 I'm not running because I'm demented, but I'm going to stay in office.
00:08:42.920 Fit enough to be president, not fit enough to run.
00:08:45.360 It doesn't make any sense at all.
00:08:47.620 But this was probably the deal.
00:08:50.100 The deal must have been, look, Joe, we're going to ramp up this pressure even more.
00:08:54.700 So either you, if you continue to insist that you're going to run, maybe we'll just invoke the 25th Amendment and then what?
00:09:03.820 I don't know what else gets this guy out of office.
00:09:06.220 He was clinging on as recently as days ago, insisting, I am running, I am running, I've got to finish the job.
00:09:12.140 There was some stick, there was some carrot here.
00:09:16.760 And that kind of deal would explain this absurdity that he gets to remain president if he admits that he's too senile to run for president.
00:09:27.580 That doesn't make any sense as a matter of coherent position, but it does make sense as a political compromise between Biden and the Democrat establishment.
00:09:36.660 There will be increasing pressure from Republicans in the coming days for Biden to resign.
00:09:44.080 However, that won't matter.
00:09:46.280 The liberal establishment doesn't care about that.
00:09:48.000 This has always been a little lover's quarrel among the, between the media and Biden.
00:09:53.700 But it's not that the media finally wanted to speak truth to power.
00:09:58.080 It's that the media wants to advance the liberal cause.
00:10:00.340 And they just felt that Biden used to be helpful for that purpose.
00:10:02.740 Now he's no longer helpful for that purpose.
00:10:04.480 Biden says he'll address the nation later this week.
00:10:07.600 I guess whenever they get around to telling him that this happened.
00:10:11.040 Immediately afterward, Biden endorses Kamala Harris.
00:10:14.560 He says, my fellow Democrats, I've decided not to accept the nomination.
00:10:18.200 Focus all my energies on my duties as president for the remainder of my term.
00:10:20.960 My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris.
00:10:24.560 This is the best decision I've made.
00:10:26.480 Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.
00:10:30.820 Democrats, it's time to come together and beat Trump.
00:10:32.740 Let's do this.
00:10:34.100 And there's a picture of Kamala laughing with her hand on Joe's back.
00:10:38.740 Joe kind of looking confused, but smiling, walking through the Rose Garden.
00:10:43.280 It brings to mind that last scene of of mice and men.
00:10:46.840 You know, George and Letty go down to the pond.
00:10:51.160 You ain't mad, Lenny?
00:10:52.520 You ain't mad, George?
00:10:53.560 No, no, I ain't mad, Lenny.
00:10:55.100 I ain't never been mad.
00:10:56.720 Now think of the rabbits, Lenny.
00:10:58.940 Think of those rabbits.
00:10:59.960 That's Kamala right there.
00:11:01.000 Just think of the ice cream, Joe.
00:11:04.600 No, it's okay, Joe.
00:11:06.580 So now we have a presumptive Democrat nominee, Kamala Harris.
00:11:11.080 Many people are not familiar with her.
00:11:12.820 I've been following her career since she was an AG and senator from California because, you know, I did live in California for some time.
00:11:21.780 And I always thought, well, I'm being a big man and admitting I was wrong about Biden likely staying in the race.
00:11:27.720 I did call from the beginning that this woman would go far in politics, not because she's popular, not because anyone wants to vote for her or anything like that.
00:11:33.700 But she's very crafty.
00:11:35.340 And she has made it now to become the Democrat nominee or presumptive Democrat nominee for president without ever having won a single vote in a primary that she was running in for president.
00:11:45.560 That's pretty amazing.
00:11:46.260 For those of you who are not as familiar with Kamala Harris, here's just a little overview.
00:11:51.860 I can imagine what can be and be unburdened by what has been, you know?
00:11:56.540 What can be unburdened by what has been?
00:12:00.180 What can be unburdened by what has been?
00:12:04.600 You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?
00:12:08.880 You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.
00:12:16.000 What can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:19.920 What can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:24.520 What we can see, what we believe can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:29.420 Here's the thing.
00:12:30.900 Who doesn't love a yellow school bus, right?
00:12:33.680 Can you raise your hand if you love a yellow school bus, right?
00:12:37.560 Just there's something about the and most of us, many of us went to school on the yellow school bus, right?
00:12:45.400 What can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:49.100 What can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:52.400 What can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:55.600 What can be unburdened by what has been.
00:12:58.860 I am Kamala Harris.
00:13:00.420 My pronouns are she and her.
00:13:01.840 I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit.
00:13:05.740 She is wearing a blue suit.
00:13:06.980 That's right.
00:13:07.380 There's so much more from Kamala Harris that you can dive into.
00:13:10.920 Though it's pretty much just more of that.
00:13:14.540 You've now heard basically everything Kamala Harris has ever said.
00:13:18.420 Biden had to endorse her.
00:13:19.760 She's his vice president.
00:13:22.700 This is an unusual situation.
00:13:25.540 And the Democrats love the identity politics.
00:13:29.000 She's at least partially black.
00:13:31.560 It's actually half Indian, Tamil Indian.
00:13:34.640 And then she's Afro Jamaican.
00:13:37.520 So a little black, a little bit of white.
00:13:39.420 But in the calculus of the Democrats, that makes her black.
00:13:43.980 That makes her pretty much Malcolm X.
00:13:45.700 So she is a black woman.
00:13:49.160 She ranks very high on the intersectional hierarchy.
00:13:51.680 And so Biden had to pick her.
00:13:53.880 Much of the Democrat establishment has leapt on.
00:13:56.000 But there are some big players in the Dem establishment who are not fully on board with Kamala yet.
00:14:01.700 There's so much more to say.
00:14:02.760 First, though, go to AmericanFinancing.net.
00:14:05.200 You work hard to support yourself and your family.
00:14:07.140 But it might seem as though you are taking a step back instead of moving forward.
00:14:11.680 When the bills are higher than what you bring in every month,
00:14:14.380 you have to swipe that credit card to cover the difference.
00:14:16.660 If you own a home, my friends at American Financing can help you break free from that cycle.
00:14:21.660 American Financing is saving people an average of $854 a month.
00:14:25.320 Think about what you could do with an extra $800 every month
00:14:28.620 without having to worry about those minimum monthly payments.
00:14:31.720 All it takes is a quick call to American Financing.
00:14:34.020 If you start today, you may be able to delay two mortgage payments.

00:14:53.520 Do not allow yourself to be wracked with anxiety by your credit card debt anymore.

00:15:02.580 NMLS 182334.
00:15:04.320 NMLSConsumerAccess.org.
00:15:06.060 The Clintons have endorsed Kamala Harris,
00:15:10.080 which means that we're not going to have to deal with Hillary running again.
00:15:15.020 It means we don't get to deal with Hillary running again.
00:15:17.280 That would have been great, but it's not happening.
00:15:18.920 They've endorsed Kamala.
00:15:20.080 The Congressional Black Caucus, which is very popular and powerful,
00:15:23.400 has endorsed Kamala.
00:15:25.080 Some big donors have.
00:15:26.780 A number of other legislators, members of Congress, super PACs, have endorsed Kamala.
00:15:33.740 Gavin Newsom finally endorsed Kamala.
00:15:36.800 Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, who clearly wanted to be president and still wants
00:15:43.160 to be president, he tweeted out when Biden said he was stepping down.
00:15:46.680 He said, this is great, Biden.
00:15:48.260 You're great.
00:15:48.720 You're a wonderful man.
00:15:49.400 This is so wonderful.
00:15:50.260 And then six hours later, he endorsed Kamala.
00:15:53.940 Don't forget, Biden says, I'm stepping down,
00:15:55.800 and then almost immediately afterwards says, I'm endorsing Kamala.
00:15:58.900 Can you imagine those six hours for Gavin Newsom?
00:16:01.660 Can you imagine the amount of scheming and calculating and deal-making he must have gone through
00:16:07.040 during those six hours?
00:16:09.240 But eventually he got on board.
00:16:11.320 Jared Paulus, Colorado governor.
00:16:14.180 Roy Cooper, North Carolina governor.
00:16:16.720 Josh Shapiro, who's being discussed as a potential running mate to Kamala.
00:16:20.260 Kamala, Pennsylvania governor.
00:16:21.380 He got on board.
00:16:22.800 Number of senators, number of congressmen.
00:16:25.060 Okay.
00:16:26.300 As of this morning, Pelosi was not yet on board.
00:16:32.060 Schumer was not yet on board.
00:16:34.220 The Obamas were not yet on board.
00:16:35.700 Now, again, this could change as I'm speaking during this show.
00:16:38.520 This is obviously a very fluid situation.
00:16:41.480 The fact that the Obamas did not immediately endorse Kamala does raise the question about
00:16:48.240 what I always felt was a fantasy and a fever dream that Michelle Obama could step in.
00:16:54.180 You heard this from a lot of political nerds and fan fiction authors.
00:16:58.700 They said, oh, but actually what could happen?
00:17:00.680 Biden gets out and then, and it's not Kamala.
00:17:03.640 They pay Kamala to go away.
00:17:05.140 And Michelle Obama steps in.
00:17:06.740 And I thought, I don't really buy that.
00:17:08.180 I don't think Michelle Obama wants to be president.
00:17:10.540 I don't think she's particularly popular.
00:17:13.260 Her husband was popular.
00:17:14.140 She doesn't really have that.
00:17:15.600 She infamously said the first time she was ever proud of her country was when it elected
00:17:19.160 her husband.
00:17:19.840 She's just, she doesn't have that gift that her husband has.
00:17:22.620 However, I've been somewhat wrong before.
00:17:27.000 The political situation has gotten crazier than many expected.
00:17:29.980 So the fact that the Obamas didn't come out right away, hmm, does make you wonder.
00:17:35.220 There was then a rumor started by Joe Manchin that Joe Manchin, the somewhat moderate senator
00:17:41.880 from West Virginia, was going to challenge Kamala Harris for the nomination within about
00:17:46.360 12 hours.
00:17:47.120 He came out and he said, no, I don't need that in my life.
00:17:48.760 I'm not doing it.
00:17:50.140 Ain't me.
00:17:50.640 I wish there were a moderate or a centrist running, but it ain't going to be me.
00:17:54.220 I'm out.
00:17:55.580 So the way is clear now for nominee Kamala Harris.
00:18:01.720 And how are the media treating Biden?
00:18:05.220 Don't forget, the media were treating Biden as a great orator.
00:18:09.700 He, a man who, he suffered from a childhood stutter.
00:18:11.840 That's the only reason he was having any trouble on the campaign trail in 2020.
00:18:14.860 But a great man, a noble man, a devout Catholic.
00:18:19.700 Remember, you always heard about his devotion to Catholicism, specifically when he was endorsing
00:18:23.980 abortion and crazy sex stuff and mutilating little kids.
00:18:28.620 And that's when you especially heard about his devotion to Catholicism, despite his contradiction
00:18:34.820 of a certain basic principles, non-negotiables.
00:18:39.520 Then over the past few weeks, the media have said Biden's an old demented coot and he's
00:18:43.260 got to get out of the race.
00:18:44.440 Now, however, they're back to liking Biden.
00:18:46.980 He's a man, according to my doppelganger, who made a great sacrifice for this country.
00:18:54.660 I cannot see anywhere in his personality where this decision today was possible.
00:19:00.640 This is the opposite of something that is natural or easy for him.
00:19:05.540 He is just not built to do something like this because his superpower is being underestimated.
00:19:12.240 And that's why he's been so resolute and resisting all these calls for him to drop out.
00:19:15.780 But him making this decision today is to give the country a chance.
00:19:21.860 I'm just blown away by the sacrifice and the patriotism that this moment embodies.
00:19:28.000 The sacrifice and the patriotism.
00:19:29.800 So I love Rachel's opening remarks.
00:19:32.020 She says, I just I can't believe he would do this.
00:19:34.660 This is so unlike him.
00:19:35.860 This is something that he would never do in a million years.
00:19:38.400 This isn't him at all.
00:19:39.200 I've known Biden for a long time and this isn't this doesn't seem like him at all.
00:19:42.760 Yeah, kind of makes you wonder, doesn't it?
00:19:44.440 Because we haven't seen him and we haven't actually heard from him.
00:19:50.020 And this is totally unlike him.
00:19:52.220 And it contradicts what he's been saying for weeks up until just a few days ago.
00:19:55.660 Yeah, kind of makes you wonder.
00:19:59.420 Has anyone told Biden?
00:20:01.020 Is Biden OK?
00:20:02.040 Has anyone checked in at Rehoboth Beach?
00:20:04.800 Anybody?
00:20:05.440 I don't know.
00:20:06.420 But then let's say Biden does know or even if he doesn't, you know, he has been dropped out of the race.
00:20:12.120 Then she says, this is a great sacrifice.
00:20:13.720 And I heard this yesterday.
00:20:15.280 Right when the news broke, I was driving to the Daily Wire studios to broadcast.
00:20:19.780 And I said, all right, let me check in on the news networks.
00:20:22.520 It's going to be really funny to watch them do a total 180.
00:20:25.440 And that's exactly what happened.
00:20:26.440 There's one guy who came on CBS.
00:20:27.800 I didn't catch his name.
00:20:28.660 And he said, it's so fitting that Biden's career is ending with the sacrifice because it began with a sacrifice.
00:20:38.200 You know, Joe Biden only ran for president in 2020.
00:20:40.780 He didn't want to run.
00:20:41.680 He only ran because Trump called Nazis fine people at Charlottesville.
00:20:47.140 Never happened.
00:20:47.860 Even Snopes and the left wing outlets are beginning to admit that.
00:20:50.140 He only ran as a sacrifice to save American democracy.
00:20:53.820 He didn't want to be president.
00:20:55.020 Bro, the guy has been running for president pretty much incessantly since 1988.
00:21:00.800 The guy got elected to the U.S. Senate before he was constitutionally old enough to serve.
00:21:06.700 The guy has been dreaming about being president since he was in the womb.
00:21:10.340 He then finally gets to be president at age 152.
00:21:14.000 And when it's clear that he can't even speak anymore, the one skill that is required of a politician, he still refuses to go.
00:21:21.580 He says, no, no, no, he's not going.
00:21:23.500 The media had to threaten him, had to humiliate him.
00:21:28.200 And then finally, someone posted a statement for him.
00:21:32.540 We still aren't even sure that it was Biden who did it.
00:21:36.640 No, he didn't give it up voluntarily.
00:21:39.320 What are you talking about?
00:21:40.960 Some sacrifice.
00:21:41.860 This is all he's ever wanted in life.
00:21:44.260 And he finally got it and he had it ripped away from him.
00:21:46.300 And it was humiliating.
00:21:47.900 Some people are saying they feel bad for Biden.
00:21:49.660 I don't feel bad for Biden because his career is ending in this humiliating way.
00:21:57.560 I find him to be a pretty nasty man and a liar and just a disreputable person in his public comportment.
00:22:07.760 So I don't feel bad for him for that reason.
00:22:10.580 I do pity him, however.
00:22:12.400 And I pity Joe Biden in as much as he did sacrifice the things that might have given him a good life, up to and especially his faith,
00:22:23.220 in order to have a 54-year political career in which he accomplished basically nothing.
00:22:34.320 Nothing would justify giving up the things that actually make a good life and especially one's faith.
00:22:39.640 Nothing.
00:22:40.240 You know, you could win the whole world.
00:22:41.380 It's not worth it.
00:22:42.840 But it seems especially brutal to give up the things that might have given this man a good life in order to have this half-century-long,
00:22:54.760 more than half-century-long political career in which he really didn't do much of anything.
00:23:01.720 He was many things.
00:23:03.560 He has been many impressive things for many years, starting with a U.S. senator back in the 1970s.
00:23:12.520 And then, you know, he led committees.
00:23:15.220 He was the vice president of the United States, and he became the president.
00:23:18.060 So it's impressive that he was those things.
00:23:21.060 What did he do?
00:23:22.260 What can he point to having done during all that time?
00:23:25.160 Even if you're an ardent Biden defender, if any of those exist,
00:23:31.120 could even his most vociferous supporters point to an accomplishment?
00:23:39.320 He gave up the things that might have given him a good life,
00:23:43.160 including his faith, which he has regularly contradicted.
00:23:46.500 When his faith came into conflict with his political ambitions,
00:23:50.840 he chose the political ambitions every single time.
00:23:55.160 And then he did nothing.
00:23:57.880 He got nothing for it.
00:23:58.860 That genuinely is pitiable.
00:24:03.500 So, you know, Biden finally realized that, you know,
00:24:07.880 all good things and bad things and, well, all things generally must come to an end.

00:24:37.720 Now, turning to President Trump.
00:24:39.580 You know, the attack on Trump from the Democrats from the beginning of this campaign,
00:24:46.120 really from the beginning of 2020, was that he is a threat to democracy.
00:24:50.160 Trump recently addressed this argument days after having almost been murdered.
00:24:54.980 When Biden says, we have to stop MAGA, we will stop MAGA.
00:25:00.360 I said, he doesn't know what MAGA stands for.
00:25:03.320 It stands for make America great again.
00:25:07.480 How can you be against that?
00:25:10.160 How can you be against that?
00:25:11.800 And, you know, the other side's going around trying to make me sound extreme.
00:25:19.180 Like, I'm an extremist.
00:25:21.020 I'm not.
00:25:21.860 I'm a person with great common sense.
00:25:23.900 I'm not an extremist at all.
00:25:25.340 But what they do is misinformation and disinformation.
00:25:31.820 And they keep saying, he's a threat to democracy.
00:25:34.380 I'm saying, what the hell did I do for democracy?
00:25:37.380 Last week, I took a bullet for democracy.
00:25:41.880 What did I do against democracy?
00:25:46.360 Crazy.
00:25:46.800 Crazy.
00:25:50.240 Great line.
00:25:50.960 Great line.
00:25:56.660 And he even, wow, this guy, what a tough guy.
00:25:58.760 He even grabs his ear after that.
00:26:01.020 In a way that's not, he's not being dramatic about it.
00:26:04.380 He's pointing, he's making a joke.
00:26:05.900 He's like, I'm a threat to democracy.
00:26:07.020 I took a bullet for democracy.
00:26:09.460 You guys, you Democrats have been as undemocratic as it can be.
00:26:12.980 You tried to kick me off the ballot so people couldn't vote for me because I'm too popular.
00:26:16.400 Then you tried to throw me in jail so people couldn't vote for me.
00:26:18.920 I'm too popular.
00:26:19.560 And then someone, after y'all called me a threat to democracy for years and years,
00:26:25.100 and you called me the second coming of Hitler for years and years, what do you know?
00:26:28.640 Someone came out and tried to murder me.
00:26:30.100 And I survived that too.
00:26:31.480 He took a bullet for democracy.
00:26:33.160 Quite right.
00:26:34.720 Now, contrast that with Kamala Harris.
00:26:38.100 Kamala, the presumptive Democrat nominee, dropped out of the 2020 presidential election
00:26:43.980 before the primaries.
00:26:45.180 She's never won a single vote while running in a primary.
00:26:49.560 All of a sudden, she's going to be the Democrat nominee after the 2024 primaries where everyone
00:26:54.940 voted for Biden.
00:26:55.660 The establishment, the establishment media, and the elites kick Biden out, replace him with Kamala Harris,
00:27:01.520 whom no one has voted for while she was running for president.
00:27:06.340 Seems very undemocratic.
00:27:09.020 Doesn't look good.
00:27:10.560 But this is some of the brilliance of putting Kamala Harris in the spot.
00:27:14.060 All of a sudden, the Democrats don't need to run on the threat to democracy line anymore.
00:27:20.060 I'm sure they'll still bring it up.
00:27:21.340 They're so used to it.
00:27:22.100 It's in their muscle memory at this point.
00:27:23.760 But the threat to democracy line became a liability because when the libs have said that Trump poses an
00:27:29.040 existential threat to democracy, that justifies an assassination.
00:27:32.120 When the Democrats say Trump is Hitler, that is to justify assassination.
00:27:40.020 If you disagree with me, then what you're saying is you don't think we should assassinate Hitler.
00:27:45.860 You don't think that if someone poses an existential threat to your whole country,
00:27:49.920 that that would justify stopping that person by any means necessary.
00:27:53.420 But of course, the Democrats do believe that they should kill Hitler.
00:27:58.060 They do believe that we should kill an existential threat to democracy.
00:28:02.040 That's why they use that line.
00:28:03.840 That's why it's very awkward for them now because someone took them up on their premise
00:28:07.620 and they appear responsible for having established the political conditions that would justify an
00:28:14.080 assassination.
00:28:14.800 So they can't run quite so hard on this line.
00:28:19.020 You even heard reporters asking Karine Champier this, the White House press secretary,
00:28:22.320 and she had to dance around whether or not the Democrats would keep calling him a threat to
00:28:25.360 democracy.
00:28:25.820 Especially now that their nominee is someone who has ascended to the position through the
00:28:31.160 least democratic means possible, the line's not going to work as well.
00:28:34.000 So what the Democrats can do, now that they have a woman who's, I think, 59 years old,
00:28:39.800 is they can just use the Republican attacks on Biden's age against Trump.
00:28:44.500 They've already signaled that that's exactly what they're going to do.
00:28:48.480 And the media will cover for them.
00:28:51.480 It's totally hypocritical.
00:28:53.120 It's a complete flip.
00:28:54.300 Democrats have been saying for years now, age should not be an issue in this campaign.
00:28:59.320 And in any case, Trump is much more energetic, not only than Biden, but than Kamala Harris for
00:29:03.520 that matter.
00:29:05.640 And they're going to totally flip.
00:29:07.780 And the media still have a tremendous amount of power.
00:29:12.140 And they might get away with it.
00:29:13.320 Now, speaking of people stepping down or people who should step down, the director of the U.S.
00:29:20.380 Secret Service is somehow still in her job now more than a week, eight days after the very nearly
00:29:29.080 successful assassination of President Donald Trump.
00:29:33.020 a sort of security failure by the U.S.
00:29:37.260 Secret Service that we have not seen in a very long time.
00:29:40.740 I guess not since Kennedy.
00:29:41.700 And I was at the RNC last week, as were many Republicans, as was the Secret Service director.
00:29:49.040 And a number of not just, you know, hoi polloi Republicans, but we're talking about prominent
00:29:53.840 Republicans, U.S.
00:29:54.660 senators.
00:29:55.020 My U.S.
00:29:55.420 senator, Marsha Blackburn, followed the Secret Service director around demanding her resignation.
00:30:00.220 This is exactly what you were doing today.
00:30:02.840 This was an assassination attempt.
00:30:05.880 You owe the people answer.
00:30:08.500 You owe President Trump answer.
00:30:15.820 She just walks away, that Secret Service director.
00:30:18.180 She doesn't want to talk to U.S.
00:30:19.280 senators.
00:30:20.600 She doesn't answer to them.
00:30:22.820 You heard Marsha there.
00:30:23.600 You owe the people an apology.
00:30:25.800 She should resign.
00:30:27.680 Absolutely.
00:30:28.160 It is a scandal that this woman is.
00:30:32.140 If all we knew about the assassination attempt was that there was a security failure and Trump
00:30:39.980 came within a quarter of an inch of being murdered, that woman needs to resign.
00:30:43.900 That woman who came out there, she said, oh, the buck stops with me.
00:30:46.460 I'm responsible, but I'm not going to resign and nothing's going to change.
00:30:49.600 Give me a break.
00:30:51.100 If that's all we knew.
00:30:53.100 However, now we are beginning to see evidence of a coverup.
00:30:58.520 Because there were rumors that started to spread shortly after the assassination attempt
00:31:02.760 that the Trump campaign had asked for additional security and had been denied additional
00:31:09.140 security by the Secret Service.
00:31:12.340 Then we were told this is totally fake news.
00:31:14.420 The U.S. Secret Service came out, said this is not true.
00:31:17.100 So, here you have it.
00:31:19.280 The assertion that a member of the former president's security team requested additional
00:31:22.700 security resources that the U.S. Secret Service or the Department of Homeland Security
00:31:25.780 rebuffed is absolutely false, says Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service.
00:31:32.520 That was in a statement on the day after the shooting.
00:31:35.780 But here, according to the Washington Post, after receiving detailed questions from the Washington
00:31:39.340 Post, Guglielmi said the agency had learned new information indicating the agency's headquarters
00:31:45.260 may have, in fact, denied some requests for additional security from Trump's detail and
00:31:51.660 was reviewing documentation to understand the specific interactions better.
00:31:56.840 Excuse me?
00:31:57.760 And this is specifically for Trump events.
00:31:59.900 This is not that they asked for a few more guys at Mar-a-Lago.
00:32:02.200 Headline from WAPO.
00:32:03.300 The Secret Service said to have denied requests for more security at Trump events.
00:32:09.180 Now, the Secret Service is acknowledging that after having lied about it a day after the
00:32:14.460 assassination attempt.
00:32:16.620 I have spoken about the attempted assassination, the bizarre, very nearly successful, only unsuccessful
00:32:24.940 by the grace of God, assassination of Donald Trump.
00:32:29.140 I've spoken about it in rather measured terms.
00:32:32.760 I only want to give the facts, things that we know for certain.
00:32:37.180 I don't want to speculate too far.
00:32:40.100 This is too serious an event to let speculation run away.
00:32:44.540 Now we know for a fact the Secret Service lied.
00:32:47.340 We know for a fact that the Trump security detail requested additional security.
00:32:51.980 This is a man, he is both the most popular and probably the most hated man in the world.
00:32:57.360 This is a man who has been maligned and defamed by the establishment as Hitlerian and an existential
00:33:06.400 threat to democracy.
00:33:08.020 This is a man even beyond the wackos in America trying to murder him, who has had assassination
00:33:13.320 attempts by Iran, by foreign actors.
00:33:15.920 This is a man who is in more danger, physical danger at any given time than anyone else on
00:33:23.120 earth.
00:33:24.320 And his security detail requests additional resources.
00:33:29.540 And the Secret Service or the Department of Homeland Security, this woman, say no.
00:33:35.600 Hmm.
00:33:36.180 That's pretty weird just in itself.
00:33:38.360 If Trump needs additional security, it should be, he shouldn't even have to ask, okay?
00:33:44.180 He should just, he should maybe mention it offhand and there should be an army of agents
00:33:49.260 who show up to his house.
00:33:51.320 This guy is in serious danger.
00:33:53.180 He's a former president.
00:33:54.000 He's the leading presidential candidate in 2024.
00:33:56.800 The fact that it would be denied is completely insane.
00:34:01.140 I'm trying to think of an explanation for it.
00:34:02.920 I, I can't, well, I can think of some explanations, but I'd prefer not to articulate them.
00:34:10.280 Then you get the Secret Service lying about it.
00:34:15.100 And then, then the Washington Post of all places, you get the media ask a pointed question
00:34:20.800 and then the Secret Service have to admit that they lied.
00:34:24.640 Yikes.
00:34:25.040 This is, this is beginning to look not merely like a catastrophic security failure.
00:34:30.600 We are now beginning to see what looks like a coverup.
00:34:36.600 Very strange.
00:34:38.240 Very, very strange.
00:34:39.820 On top of that, America First Legal has submitted FOIA requests, Freedom of Information Act requests
00:34:45.140 for information on Secret Service staffing around Trump.
00:34:50.580 The Secret Service has denied those FOIA requests.
00:34:54.420 This is, I'm all for explanations from incompetence, okay?
00:35:00.500 There's enough incompetence in the government to go around.
00:35:05.780 This is beginning to look real crooked.
00:35:09.660 And it could be that the Secret Service is now crookedly trying to cover up for its gross incompetence.
00:35:17.000 It could be that.
00:35:17.580 But it might not be that.
00:35:21.440 It might just be that the kinds of people who have been calling Trump an existential threat to democracy
00:35:26.980 and, and a Nazi for eight years, well, they might just not want to give him extra security.
00:35:34.600 I'm not saying they need to go sit and conspire with someone to, to blow his head off or anything,
00:35:38.360 but they might just, they might just not be inclined to give him extra security.
00:35:42.880 Especially when he seems to be polling much better than the incumbent.
00:35:46.800 The incumbent president, whose executive branch runs the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.
00:35:52.720 A lot of answers.
00:35:55.220 The first thing that needs to happen is this woman, Kimberly Cheadle, the head of the Secret Service, needs to resign.
00:36:00.440 Every second she's in there, the Biden administration looks complicit in the attempted murder of his rival.
00:36:06.060 She needs to resign.
00:36:06.980 But then, that's the beginning.
00:36:08.340 That's not the end.
00:36:09.040 That's the beginning.
00:36:09.780 Then we need this woman to answer a lot of questions.
00:36:13.280 We need a very thorough investigation, and we need people to be held accountable.
00:36:17.720 The more that comes out, the worse this looks.
00:36:20.600 And we are getting some information now, reported by the New York Post,
00:36:23.800 on what the would-be assassin of President Trump was doing just before he committed his crimes.
00:36:32.540 And we'll get to that in one second.
00:36:33.700 First, though, my favorite comment on Friday is from T.T. Fresh, who says,
00:36:37.760 Biden will be livid when he hears about this.
00:36:39.460 Well, I guess this was probably a comment on my live stream yesterday, because with this political cycle,
00:36:45.180 I now live at the Daily Wire studio, and I just broadcast all the time.
00:36:49.380 I'm basically the star of a reality show now, as is everyone who is even remotely connected to politics or media,
00:36:56.080 because this is the craziest election cycle since at least 1968, maybe further back.
00:37:02.580 Yes, Biden will be livid.
00:37:03.820 He will be livid when he finds out that he has dropped out of the presidential race.
00:37:07.140 New York Post has a gross report out.
00:37:12.420 The Trump shooter, the would-be assassin, they cracked into his phone,
00:37:19.900 and they found out that this guy's last online search was for porn.
00:37:28.860 Checks out.
00:37:30.200 That checks out.
00:37:30.880 I'm not surprised about that at all.
00:37:32.340 This is a guy who's about to go successfully murder one person,
00:37:38.040 critically injure two other people, and nearly blow the head off the president,
00:37:41.300 but for a 15, 20-degree turn of his head at the very last second,
00:37:45.060 nanosecond before he pulled the trigger.
00:37:48.320 And the thing he does right before, he must know he's going there to die.
00:37:52.120 There's no way he's going to get out of this alive.
00:37:54.600 The last thing he does is look up porn.
00:37:56.540 Yeah, it checks out.
00:37:58.960 I don't think the last thing that he did would be to bake a pie for the old lady down the street.
00:38:05.520 I don't think the last thing he did would be to donate to the poor.
00:38:09.020 Of course, the last thing that this guy is going to do is going to be something sinful.
00:38:12.980 And it underscores, forget about, we've been talking about the assassination for a very long time,
00:38:20.380 or the near assassination for a very long time.
00:38:22.560 Just focus on this for a second.
00:38:24.120 Focus on the thing he does right before he goes out to kill people.
00:38:29.000 It is no exaggeration.
00:38:31.640 There's not one ounce of hyperbole to say porn is one of the biggest problems,
00:38:37.880 political problems in America.
00:38:39.500 It is one of the gravest, most dangerous, most urgent political problems in America.
00:38:46.380 And the reason for that is, it is ubiquitous.
00:38:50.780 Something like, what, 90% of men look at this stuff?
00:38:56.260 Probably more than 90%.
00:38:57.700 And the median age of first exposure to porn is something like 11 years old.
00:39:02.440 It's probably even younger now.
00:39:03.260 I think that's an outdated number.
00:39:04.420 And a huge number of women are looking at it, too.
00:39:06.180 So it's ubiquitous.
00:39:07.480 But plenty of things.
00:39:07.980 You know, drinking water is ubiquitous, too.
00:39:10.240 It's perfectly fine.
00:39:11.340 It's ubiquitous.
00:39:13.160 And it radically warps people's minds to worship idols and to view other human beings as objects.
00:39:21.440 That's what it does.
00:39:23.120 There's this thing out there.
00:39:24.720 The thing that the would-be assassin, the successful murderer, did right before he went out to kill people
00:39:29.820 is something that the vast majority of people, and it's a thing that specifically perverts your mind.
00:39:38.740 It turns you into a pervert or more of a pervert.
00:39:41.720 And the way that it perverts you is by altering your vision and desires to view human beings not as proper subjects,
00:39:51.000 but as objects for your gratification.
00:39:55.260 It just gets worse the more you consider the problem.
00:40:00.500 When you look at porn, from a spiritual perspective, you are worshiping demons, okay?
00:40:08.920 I know for people who are not religious or who are materialists or atheists or whatever,
00:40:14.100 that's going to sound foreign to them because they don't engage with metaphysical reality.
00:40:20.420 Or they do.
00:40:20.940 We all have to engage with metaphysical reality in some ways because we're a body and soul combined.
00:40:26.220 But some people are not conscious of that or they try to deny it or whatever.
00:40:29.060 But that is what you're doing.
00:40:30.720 It is a religious ritual whereby you worship demons.
00:40:36.160 At the very least, we would have to say you're worshiping idols.
00:40:38.520 It's a glittering image on a screen.
00:40:40.620 And idolatry is just when you value a created good as its own end,
00:40:50.720 more than the creator outside of its proper place.
00:40:54.680 That's what idolatry is.
00:40:56.880 So if you worship money, you're making an idol out of money.
00:41:02.700 And it's not that money is bad.
00:41:03.920 It's good to keep a roof over your head.
00:41:05.340 It's good to provide food for your family.
00:41:06.760 But if you worship money, if you make money the end of your desires,
00:41:10.640 you're going to have a bad time.
00:41:11.940 You're going to have a bad life.
00:41:13.660 Same thing's true of food.
00:41:15.260 Same thing's true of sex.
00:41:16.560 These are not things that are bad in themselves.
00:41:19.760 And sex, obviously, is not a bad thing in itself.
00:41:21.620 But when you pervert it, when you take it out of its proper context and out of its natural end,
00:41:29.180 and you distort it now so that sex becomes just glittering images on a screen somewhere where you do all sorts of gross things,
00:41:36.220 that is an idolatry.
00:41:39.460 And it's ubiquitous.
00:41:40.760 And the results can't be good.
00:41:42.380 Do you know anyone who's ever gotten better, who's ever become a better person for looking at porn?
00:41:48.640 No.
00:41:49.760 We all acknowledge it's bad.
00:41:53.740 Other than, I guess, the addicts who deep down probably do know that it's bad.
00:41:59.880 We have tried multiple times in recent American history to fix this problem.
00:42:05.500 Democrats and Republicans.
00:42:07.080 The Communications Decency Act.
00:42:08.180 The Child Online Protection Act.
00:42:09.560 The Prosecutions of Pornographers for Obscenity.
00:42:11.680 And it often gets stymied by the courts, and there are all these kind of crazy lib free speech arguments about it.
00:42:16.980 But it's really, really bad.
00:42:18.640 Porn is the kind of thing that would-be assassins look at before they murder people, okay?
00:42:24.040 It's not the kind of thing that missionaries or humanitarians or charitable people look at before they go help others.
00:42:33.580 It's a very selfish thing.
00:42:34.900 And we need to deal with it as a political problem, or it's going to continue to fester.
00:42:40.240 Now, speaking of demons and warping people's brains, the show really took a turn.
00:42:43.560 There's a story out.
00:42:44.380 It's a science story.
00:42:45.520 So, even the secularists could probably appreciate this.
00:42:49.780 There's a story out from NPR.
00:42:53.980 It shows that a neuroscientist took psilocybin, you know, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, and then he watched his brain fall apart.
00:43:04.820 NPR's words, not mine.
00:43:06.000 This weirdo scientist takes the mushrooms and then sticks his head to an MRI machine and watches what happens, and he saw his brain fall apart.
00:43:14.980 So, he's still open to magic mushrooms, but they're saying, look, it obviously has these really serious effects on the brain, and so how could it be used for good?
00:43:25.480 Is there any good use of this?
00:43:26.860 Here's what NPR is writing.
00:43:28.000 A patient with addiction, for example, might be able to reframe their relationship with substances in the days and weeks following a dose of psilocybin, he says, because it's rewiring your brain and making things fall apart.
00:43:38.760 But the approach has risks, says Dr. Ginger Nichol, a psychiatrist at Washington University whose husband was in the study and took psilocybin twice.
00:43:47.120 He had an almost religious experience the first time, she says, the second time he saw demons.
00:43:56.620 What?
00:43:58.720 Yeah, yeah, he had an almost religious experience the first time, the second time he saw demons.
00:44:02.200 Even so, psychedelics may offer a way to help psychiatric patients.
00:44:05.400 I love it, it follows, yeah, he saw demons.
00:44:06.940 Even so, put the demons aside for a second.
00:44:09.700 It can offer help to help psychiatric patients recognize their own capacity to change.
00:44:14.720 It takes years to figure that out in therapy, she says.
00:44:17.600 This gives us a different way of thinking about learning and recovery.
00:44:21.020 And, you know, you might accidentally run into some demons, but, you know, hey, can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs.
00:44:27.820 As a general rule, I'm not a scientist.
00:44:31.140 I'm not a psychiatrist.
00:44:33.020 I'm not a neurosurgeon, right?
00:44:35.120 As a general rule, I try to avoid things that will lead me to see demons.
00:44:40.960 Demons, I think that's basically good advice for everyone.
00:44:45.220 If a thing you're doing leads you to seeing demons and interacting with demons, turn around.
00:44:52.680 Go the other direction.
00:44:54.760 But it's so tempting, right?
00:44:56.800 Because what they're saying here, what the scientists are saying here is,
00:45:00.560 you might be able to skip years of therapy.
00:45:03.540 It might help you get over certain other problems you've got.
00:45:05.760 Yeah, yeah, man.
00:45:06.820 Oh, these people.
00:45:09.040 Oh, these scientists.
00:45:13.060 Illiterate shepherds in the ancient Middle East understood much better than these scientists the things the scientists are trying to articulate.
00:45:24.460 Yeah, demons tempt you.
00:45:28.100 Yes.
00:45:29.000 Sin is tempting.
00:45:29.820 You're often tempted to take shortcuts around the hard work that is required in cooperation with God's grace to grow in virtue and sanctity.
00:45:39.580 Yeah.
00:45:40.340 Yes, that's true.
00:45:41.980 You could be tempted by a shortcut.
00:45:45.440 But the shortcut might not work, and it might just leave you hanging out with demons.
00:45:50.020 And that's probably not a good idea.
00:45:51.220 Amazing how the more we learn about science, the more science progresses, the more we realize that the gods of the copybook headings return.
00:46:03.180 You know, the more we realize that the things that we've always kind of known to be true, they're actually basically still true.
00:46:08.060 Pretty much all of them.
00:46:11.260 But no, no, that's cool.
00:46:12.540 At least maybe you can smoke a little less pot or something by doing harder drugs and seeing demons.
00:46:18.600 Okay.
00:46:18.940 Hmm.
00:46:19.540 Doesn't sound like a good deal to me.
00:46:20.680 It's Music Monday.
00:46:21.640 The rest of the show continues now.
