00:01:04.660 flag-waving marauders. And Vice President J.D. Vance is memeing a deportation threat at one of the most
00:01:11.720 annoying accounts on Twitter. I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles Show.
00:01:34.500 Welcome back to this show. Really, really shocking, horrifying news.
00:01:39.140 Here's a study out shows Zoomers are not drinking. Gen Z is eschewing the booze. And everyone's saying
00:01:49.240 this is a really good thing and it's healthy and it's whatever. I actually think it's evidence of
00:01:54.000 a very bad thing. I have a lot more to say, but first, folks, made in America means something
00:02:00.280 to our country's private equity investors. When you invest $700 billion annually in American companies
00:02:06.320 and the 13 million workers and families they support, you are investing in the success of
00:02:11.440 Main Street. Over the last eight years alone, America's private equity investors have contributed
00:02:15.460 $5 trillion to the U.S. economy. That is money powering growth in manufacturing, tech, energy,
00:02:21.300 and innovation. From strengthening supply chains to helping America lead in artificial intelligence,
00:02:26.600 that kind of investment shapes our future. And it starts with private equity backing American
00:02:30.880 ambition. Because investing in our people, our businesses, and our communities is not just good
00:02:35.120 for the economy. It's good for the country. Learn more about how private equity keeps American
00:02:39.560 small businesses growing and thriving at investmentcouncil.org. Paid for by the American
00:02:46.000 Investment Council. Unbelievable stuff coming out of L.A. Unbelievably good. Good as a matter of
00:02:53.280 justice. Yes. Really, really good politics. Really brilliant politics. Trump could not have
00:03:00.400 possibly scripted this better. And he is scripting it in a way. The funny thing is, Democrats are
00:03:07.260 accusing Trump of orchestrating the response to the L.A. deportation riots and even the deportation
00:03:16.140 raids to begin with in such a way that it's going to make Republicans look really good and Democrats
00:03:20.040 look really bad. And they're actually kind of right about that. That's true. However, the way he's
00:03:26.160 doing that is just by doing his job and by doing what the American people elected him to do. But it
00:03:30.840 is true that in doing that, it's making him look really good and it's making the Democrats look
00:03:36.480 really, really bad. Trump is not only mobilizing the National Guard. Gavin Newsom, governor of California,
00:03:43.560 was furious about this. He said, we're going to sue over this. You can't take over the National
00:03:47.100 Guard. I get to control the National Guard. Trump is also now activating 700 U.S. Marines
00:03:52.100 to protect federal buildings. Don't forget, the federal government owns property in the state
00:03:58.500 of California. The federal government has a direct interest in protecting that property and putting
00:04:04.440 down the riots. It has an indirect interest, too, because it's the biggest government in the
00:04:08.680 country. It's the ultimate, highest government. But also, it's got a direct interest. There's federal
00:04:14.200 property there that needs to be protected, and Trump's going to send in the Marines.
00:04:18.040 And Newsom is suing over that, too. So you've got the situation where Newsom and the Democrats,
00:04:22.440 Newsom, who was trying to make this moderate pivot, Newsom, who's trying to launch his 2028
00:04:26.540 presidential campaign, ends up siding with the Mexican flag waivers and the Kefia wearers and the
00:04:32.560 looters and the arsonists and the terrorists. And Trump is on the side of the American flag and the
00:04:37.960 National Guard and innocent civilians and the U.S. Marines. And it just looks horrible,
00:04:43.200 horrible for the Democrats. And Trump's pushing it further. Because what the Democrats are banking
00:04:49.300 on is that Trump is going to be too chicken to actually do something to stop the riots.
00:04:53.700 What the Democrats are banking on is that if Trump tries to stop the riots, then the violence could
00:04:59.160 escalate or it could look like he's suppressing dissent, and that's going to backfire on Trump.
00:05:04.380 That's not going to happen. That is not going to happen. And Trump knows it. Trump knows that
00:05:09.000 most people in the country are on the side of the innocent people, the civilians, the American
00:05:14.320 citizens over the mask wearing, all cops are bad, chanting, Kefia wearing, Mexican flag waving,
00:05:23.660 looting terrorists, rioters and miscreants, all of them. Trump knows that. So when he gets these
00:05:32.460 threats from the Democrats, what does he do? He comes out, he says, hey, just so you know,
00:05:37.020 if you guys keep it up, if you attack our brave National Guardsmen, we're going to fight back.
00:05:45.140 And the phrase he's using is, if they spit, we will hit. Because these leftists in the streets
00:05:52.860 are spitting on the National Guard, and the National Guard is just supposed to take it.
00:05:57.340 And Trump says, no, no, no, I am ordering you as the president. If they do that,
00:06:01.540 punch them in their fat, stupid faces. Teach them a lesson that will be edifying for them,
00:06:06.920 that will be educational, and that will play very well politically. The exact line,
00:06:14.080 if they spit, we will hit. This is a statement from the president of the United States concerning
00:06:19.020 the catastrophic Gavin News scum inspired riots going on in Los Angeles. The insurrectionists have
00:06:23.840 a tendency to spit in the face of the National Guardsmen slash women and others. These patriots
00:06:29.020 are told to accept this. It's just the way life runs, but not in the Trump administration. All
00:06:32.580 quotes, all caps rather, if they spit, we will hit. And I promise you they will be hit harder than they
00:06:37.980 have ever been hit before. Such disrespect will not be tolerated. This is the right thing to do. As I
00:06:46.460 said at the top, this is the right thing to do as a matter of justice. This is actually good for the
00:06:51.300 spitters and the marauders and the rioters because it's going to teach them a lesson and they need
00:06:55.560 to learn a lesson. They've been very poorly educated up until now. But politically, this is
00:07:01.760 brilliant. This is brilliant. Someone made the point, and I don't remember which account it was,
00:07:07.620 made the point on Twitter yesterday. I'm sorry that I don't remember because it was a good point.
00:07:12.800 You know, the libs have this mythology of the protests of the 60s. Specifically, think about
00:07:17.940 Kent State. You remember the student protesters, four of them killed by the National Guard.
00:07:24.360 Neil Young wrote that song about it. Four dead in Ohio. Ten soldiers and wah, wah, wah. And the idea
00:07:33.200 was that the American public turned against the government, the National Guard, and the establishment,
00:07:40.180 the conservatives, because they struck down the four student protesters at Kent State in Ohio.
00:07:45.760 But this account, the name of which I forget, pointed out yesterday, the American public was
00:07:52.300 so outraged by the National Guard killing those students at Kent State that Richard Nixon went on
00:07:59.720 to win 49 states. They were so outraged that they were completely on the side of the National Guard.
00:08:06.180 The liberal mythology of people having a groundswell of popular support for these rioters, for these anarchists,
00:08:15.940 for in the 60s, it would have been students for a democratic society or the Weather Underground.
00:08:19.620 Today, it would be Antifa or some of these left-wing anarchist cells.
00:08:24.540 That's totally imagined. That is not true.
00:08:27.500 In this battle going on in Los Angeles, the people are on the side of the National Guard
00:08:33.180 and they're on the side of the Marines and they're on the side of America over Mexico
00:08:37.380 and citizens over illegals and Trump over Newsom.
00:08:41.900 So there's actually no political risk here really for Trump,
00:08:45.820 Trump who has clarity and courage in the situation.
00:08:48.260 When you really look through it, there's no political risk.
00:08:50.820 Yes, they hit, they spit, we hit.
00:08:55.240 That is not only the right thing to do, that is a complete political winner.
00:08:58.960 The public despises these lunatics burning down L.A. right now.
00:09:04.600 Furthermore, Trump has said that masks are no longer to be tolerated at these protests.
00:09:08.800 This used to be common sense.
00:09:10.920 Then the libs made us all mask up during COVID
00:09:13.020 because it also helped them during that summer of love of George Floyd.
00:09:16.300 The year of our Floyd, when the leftists were burning down the city the last time.
00:09:23.800 Trump says no more masks.
00:09:26.360 He goes, great job by the National Guard.
00:09:28.540 We got an incompetent governor, Newsom, mayor, who were as usual, very slow.
00:09:35.040 Federal permitting is complete, unable to handle the task.
00:09:40.700 These radical left protests by instigators and paid troublemakers will not be tolerated.
00:09:44.360 From now on, masks will not be allowed to be worn at protests.
00:09:48.220 What do these people have to hide?
00:09:50.020 Thank you to the National Guard.
00:09:51.220 What do these people?
00:09:51.620 Yeah, no masks.
00:09:54.140 No thank you.
00:09:55.260 This is another point.
00:09:56.160 This is a little more subtle, but it's another point to show that Trump,
00:10:00.180 in his political instincts, is conservative much more than he is libertarian.
00:10:05.940 A lot of that blow up at the White House between Trump and Musk was about two factions,
00:10:10.760 the political conservatives and the political libertarians,
00:10:12.980 and the conservatives won yet again.
00:10:15.260 I think Trump, when he says things like, we want Greenland, we want Canada,
00:10:19.120 he's expressing a kind of political conservatism,
00:10:22.620 a more classical kind of right-wingedism than libertarianism,
00:10:26.320 which really begins as a movement out of the left.
00:10:28.420 So here again, you see Trump saying, no, no, no.
00:10:31.380 We ain't tolerating that.
00:10:32.260 I don't want to hear any sob stories about the civil rights of the illegal alien,
00:10:38.400 cartel-associating, keffia-wearing, Mexican flag-waving protesters,
00:10:44.120 sneaker-stealing, city-burning.
00:10:46.360 Yeah, save it.
00:10:47.400 I don't want to hear about your civil rights and your constitutional rights.
00:10:51.220 And you're going to shut up.
00:10:52.260 You're going to get out of the street.
00:10:53.360 You're going to stop hurting people.
00:10:54.900 You're going to act like a normal, civilized person.
00:10:56.840 Then we can talk about your rights.
00:10:58.900 Get your mask off.
00:11:02.020 That's my kind of conservatism, okay?
00:11:05.320 Now, meanwhile, the libs are trying to insist that there's no violence going on whatsoever.
00:11:11.240 Put a pause on your brain for just a second so that you can hear this very important message
00:11:16.960 and so that you can text Knolls, K-N-W-L-E-S, to 989898.
00:11:21.680 The administration has its sleeves rolled up in streamlining monumental moves right now,
00:11:26.340 but it is difficult for them to take your personal finances into account when trying
00:11:30.500 to fix the country.
00:11:31.860 You've got to do that.
00:11:32.680 That's your job.
00:11:33.620 That is why tens of thousands of Americans are buying gold now from Birch Gold.
00:11:37.540 Here are the facts.
00:11:38.620 In the past 12 months, the value of gold has increased by 30%.
00:11:41.900 Central banks are buying gold in record quantities, and the Rio Reset is on the horizon
00:11:46.280 where BRICS nations are looking to unseat the U.S. dollar as the global reserve.
00:11:50.400 As you know, I am a little bit of a gold bug.
00:11:53.260 I have a fair bit of gold in my portfolio, and I'm very happy about that fact.
00:11:56.400 You can find peace of mind in gold.
00:11:59.020 Birch Gold makes it extremely easy to convert an existing IRA or 401k into a tax-sheltered
00:12:03.520 IRA in physical gold, or just buy something to store at home.
00:12:07.100 Text my name, K-N-O-W-L-E-S, that is NOLS, to 989898, and Birch Gold will send you a free
00:12:13.620 info kit on gold.
00:12:15.320 No obligation, only useful information.
00:12:17.540 With an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau, thousands of happy customers.
00:12:20.680 Protect your savings today.
00:12:22.220 Text the word Knolls, K-N-O-W-L-E-S, to 989898.
00:12:27.880 Maxine Waters, a congresslady from California.
00:12:31.760 She's been in office, I think, since the gold rush, actually, so she's been there for a long
00:12:35.040 time.
00:12:35.780 Maxine Waters comes out, and she is trying, I think, quite implausibly at this point, to
00:12:42.100 advance the line that there is no violence at the demonstrations currently burning down
00:12:48.180 L.A.
00:12:48.500 Well, I was surprised at the way that the police chief was describing all of this.
00:12:55.920 There had been no violence where anybody that was protesting hit anybody, shot anybody,
00:13:03.560 threatened anybody.
00:13:04.700 Nothing has happened.
00:13:06.160 And so, he doesn't know what to do, probably, because this is a sanctuary city, and the
00:13:12.980 police don't have the authority.
00:13:15.020 All that he's got to do is call to work with the governor.
00:13:19.060 The governor was not even called when he sent in the National Guard.
00:13:23.860 The mayor was not even called.
00:13:25.860 The president is initiating this purposely.
00:13:29.960 He knows what he's doing.
00:13:31.100 I just want to point out, and I'm sure you know this, Congresswoman, there has been some
00:13:34.960 violence in the course of these protests.
00:13:37.380 Some police officers were assaulted, and some vehicles were damaged in the process.
00:13:44.100 So, there has been some violence out there, right?
00:13:46.000 Exploded.
00:13:46.520 Lit on fire.
00:13:48.360 Well, the thing about it is, you may have people, one or two or a few people, who will
00:13:54.220 not conform.
00:13:55.620 That happens everywhere.
00:13:56.840 Oh, man.
00:13:58.880 If Maxine Waters did not exist, we would have to invent her.
00:14:02.400 So, she's on.
00:14:03.240 She's doing a phoner with CNN, and CNN is playing images from the riots while she's on.
00:14:09.700 But she's not on TV.
00:14:10.760 I guess she's not seeing the images.
00:14:12.060 So, the images are showing a ton of violence.
00:14:15.640 The rioters, the leftists attacking cops, and they're lighting cars on fire, and they're
00:14:21.900 burning stuff down, they're looting.
00:14:22.980 And she says, there's no violence.
00:14:26.080 Why do you think there's any?
00:14:27.380 And there's Wolf Blitzer, who is trying to defend the Democrat narrative here, but who's
00:14:32.520 got, he doesn't want to look like a complete fool.
00:14:34.980 So, he goes, uh, well, I mean, you know, like we said, there's a little bit of violence,
00:14:41.420 right?
00:14:41.840 What?
00:14:43.340 I mean, there, some cars have been damaged.
00:14:47.440 Cars have been damaged.
00:14:48.120 It looks like, you know, you've got EVs exploding throughout Los Angeles.
00:14:52.160 They've been a little down.
00:14:53.240 At least someone kind of keyed them, didn't they?
00:14:54.900 And, uh, oh, yeah, well, maybe one or two people, one or two people.
00:15:00.020 This has been going on for like four or five days now.
00:15:02.400 They've been torching the city.
00:15:04.660 This is weak.
00:15:05.680 And now, Maxine Waters is not the only person.
00:15:07.640 She's just a little slower to the game, I guess.
00:15:09.880 So, the initial line from basically all of the Democrats was, there's no violence, and
00:15:14.440 please don't have any more violence, please.
00:15:17.080 But there's none anyway.
00:15:18.660 You shouldn't be worried about it.
00:15:19.920 But now, it's totally undeniable.
00:15:21.580 I mean, even CNN can't deny it.
00:15:23.040 We're just seeing it all over our TV screens.
00:15:25.780 And they have a deeper problem, the left, because Maxine Waters, good example of this,
00:15:31.220 Maxine Waters encouraged violence against Republicans during the first Trump administration.
00:15:35.460 Maxine Waters came out there, told her supporters, when you see Republicans in public, you need
00:15:41.500 to push back on them.
00:15:42.880 You need to tell them they're not welcome here.
00:15:44.960 I mean, she was calling for her supporters to assault Republicans in public and members
00:15:50.080 of the administration.
00:15:51.140 So, Maxine Waters can't then come out and say, well, I think we should be totally peaceful
00:15:55.440 and civil with each other.
00:15:56.460 That doesn't work.
00:15:57.120 And the Democrats broadly can't do it.
00:15:58.740 Hillary Clinton, during the first Trump admin, said, you can't be civil with Republicans.
00:16:03.240 Eric Holder made similar statements.
00:16:06.100 Line after line, you had Democrats calling for differing degrees of violence.
00:16:12.060 So, it's not just that, ah, darn, accidentally a few bad apples are messing up our left-wing
00:16:17.360 peaceful protest.
00:16:20.020 This is built into the left.
00:16:22.240 Going back to the origin of the term left in politics in the French Revolution, it's violent.
00:16:27.520 It's radical.
00:16:28.440 It seeks to uproot the political order.
00:16:31.700 It is consequentialist in its ethics.
00:16:34.060 It thinks that the ends justify the means.
00:16:36.100 If you go all the way back to the origin of that term, it chops off the head of Queen Marie
00:16:39.840 Antoinette because it takes some broken eggs to make an omelet.
00:16:45.560 So, it's a problem that's just built in.
00:16:47.920 And they can deny it all they like.
00:16:49.320 No one's going to believe it.
00:16:50.320 Here's the LAPD police chief explaining how the violence not only exists, but is escalating.
00:16:56.000 As far as people are worried about the violence that we're seeing, this violence that I've
00:17:02.480 seen is disgusting.
00:17:03.700 It's escalated now since the beginning of this incident.
00:17:07.540 What we saw the first night was bad.
00:17:10.420 What we've seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent.
00:17:15.100 Tonight, we had individuals out there shooting commercial-grade fireworks at our officers.
00:17:20.320 That can kill you.
00:17:21.740 That can kill you.
00:17:22.340 And by the way, the left does this regularly, too.
00:17:25.460 In fact, you might recall when I was at the University of Pittsburgh a year or two ago,
00:17:29.880 I was giving a talk there.
00:17:32.360 It was a debate over transgenderism.
00:17:35.080 Back before the conservatives had just completely won on that issue,
00:17:39.240 after the liberals thought they had completely won on that issue,
00:17:41.860 but it was still a little bit of a live issue.
00:17:43.140 And a couple of these anarchist leftist Antifa members showed up,
00:17:48.920 and one of them threw a firework.
00:17:50.180 And you say, oh, well, it's just a firework.
00:17:52.940 As the LAPD guy says, that can kill you.
00:17:57.180 And that's what the left is doing in L.A. right now.
00:18:00.000 And that's what they've done for a long time.
00:18:01.900 This isn't unprecedented.
00:18:03.040 We don't need to figure out what's causing this.
00:18:04.820 This is just how the left mobilizes in the streets,
00:18:07.920 which is why it is so irresponsible that you have not just fringe lunatics,
00:18:12.700 but mainstream lunatics like Chris Murphy.
00:18:16.020 He's the Democrat senator from Connecticut, going on television, going on MSNBC,
00:18:21.980 talking to Mika Bridget-Judzinski.
00:18:24.680 As these riots are going on, as these violent demonstrations are going on,
00:18:30.920 he says Democrats need to be out in the streets.
00:18:33.660 I mean, my first message is to keep it peaceful.
00:18:37.300 I mean, obviously, this is a moment where we have to be on the streets all over the country
00:18:40.620 to protest what's happening to our immigrant community,
00:18:44.200 but more broadly, to protest what's happening to our democracy.
00:18:46.820 This is the most corrupt administration in the history of the country,
00:18:50.480 and we are going to rise to this moment by being out there on the streets.
00:18:55.660 But, you know, ultimately, I think the country sees what Donald Trump is trying to do here.
00:19:01.380 He's looking for a fight.
00:19:02.800 Notice the contradiction within the same breath.
00:19:06.080 It says we need to be peaceful and we need to be out in the streets.
00:19:10.380 Those two things really can't go together.
00:19:13.420 They certainly don't go together with the left,
00:19:15.140 which gets violent basically every time it takes to the streets.
00:19:17.480 But even this idea of taking to the streets.
00:19:19.560 You notice Republicans don't take to the streets.
00:19:22.620 Conservatives don't take to the streets.
00:19:24.660 We are active in politics.
00:19:26.760 We do stuff.
00:19:27.620 We even win sometimes.
00:19:28.740 Right now, we have basically unified government.
00:19:30.960 We have the president who was elected with the Electoral College and the popular vote.
00:19:34.640 We have the House by a bare majority.
00:19:36.220 We have the Senate by a little more of a cushion.
00:19:38.860 And we kind of have the Supreme Court.
00:19:40.320 So we win.
00:19:41.500 We do things in government.
00:19:43.300 We do occasionally win.
00:19:45.540 But we don't take to the streets.
00:19:47.880 Taking to the streets is a left-wing thing.
00:19:50.120 Because taking to the streets is an intrinsically violent or at least threatening action.
00:19:55.440 When you take to the streets, you block traffic, for instance.
00:20:01.300 As the Libs love doing.
00:20:02.960 And they do it with all kinds of flimsy justifications.
00:20:05.840 To protest climate change.
00:20:07.280 To protest deportations.
00:20:09.060 To protest war.
00:20:10.620 To protest whatever.
00:20:11.620 They'll shut down highways.
00:20:12.600 They'll take to the streets.
00:20:14.280 Taking to the streets, bringing out unruly mobs, is an intrinsically violent action.
00:20:19.820 Because the purpose of it is to threaten and intimidate.
00:20:22.340 Why do they have to take to the streets?
00:20:23.680 Because they lost the election.
00:20:25.340 And rather than accept the fact that they lost the election and try again next time.
00:20:28.720 They're going to try to disturb the peace.
00:20:31.220 They're going to burn stuff down.
00:20:32.560 They're going to attack cops.
00:20:33.680 They're going to spit at the National Guard.
00:20:35.240 And they're going to rob sneaker stores.
00:20:37.840 So don't let Chris Murphy hypnotize you.
00:20:40.700 Don't let the Democrats trick you.
00:20:42.160 When they say, we need to be peaceful, but we need to take to the streets.
00:20:44.920 They're saying, we need to be peaceful, and we need to be violent.
00:20:48.260 And when you say both of those things at once,
00:20:50.500 all you really mean is, we need to be violent.
00:20:54.720 So they'll try.
00:20:55.540 They'll pay some lip service to, don't be violent, don't be violent.
00:20:58.100 What they are encouraging their people to do is to get violent.
00:21:02.260 Because they think that they're going to cow President Trump into backing down.
00:21:07.840 But Trump, because he's a tough guy and he's a New Yorker,
00:21:11.340 but also because he is an astute politician, it appears he is not going to back down.
00:21:19.180 Not only, I think, because it's the right thing to do,
00:21:21.020 but because he knows that he's going to get the political win here.
00:21:25.260 The reason the Dems are taking to the streets is because they lost.
00:21:29.260 Because people don't like them, and they don't like what they're doing.
00:21:31.860 And they're on the side of the Trump policy.
00:21:33.580 Why would Trump not continue to back that up?
00:21:36.280 Final point on this.
00:21:38.300 Final point on what's going on in LA.
00:21:39.660 The wonderful defenders of the oppressed and the beleaguered,
00:21:46.820 you know, the great diverse cultural enrichers and all the rest of it.
00:21:49.860 They've decided that one way they're going to stand up for the poor immigrant communities
00:21:54.600 is by robbing stores in LA.
00:21:57.420 The looting has broken out.
00:21:59.220 And you can see this on ABC News.
00:22:00.420 This is not some right-wing news channel.
00:22:03.140 You can see people roaming around LA.
00:22:05.020 You can see them going around.
00:22:10.320 Don't seem like the most orderly civic nationalists.
00:22:15.340 They're going, breaking.
00:22:17.320 And is that a bread store they're going into to steal food for their families?
00:22:22.260 No.
00:22:23.980 Is that a bookstore?
00:22:25.380 Are they stealing books?
00:22:26.200 I don't think they're stealing books.
00:22:28.960 No.
00:22:30.080 I actually can't quite tell exactly what they're looting.
00:22:33.800 But I don't think this is for the cause of justice.
00:22:35.740 I think this is what the left is.
00:22:39.620 I think ultimately leftism is lawless.
00:22:44.080 It's a revolutionary ideology that seeks to upend the civil order.
00:22:49.300 And I think it's selfish.
00:22:51.180 I think, I mean that not just in a cheap way.
00:22:53.320 I mean that at the level of fundamental ideology.
00:22:57.160 I think it seeks to oppose God and the transcendent moral order and displace authority all the way down to the family.
00:23:06.480 You know, it's kind of F you dad is what leftism comes down to.
00:23:09.320 And I think it seeks self-deification.
00:23:12.060 The notion that the individual personal will is not accountable to anybody, anything, and not even accountable to reason.
00:23:22.760 We're just going to do what we want.
00:23:23.840 And we're going to take the sneakers and we're going to burn down the city.
00:23:26.000 We're going to light the cop car on fire and we're going to spit in the face of the cops and nobody's going to tell us boo.
00:23:31.800 And I think we've had enough of that.
00:23:34.800 And the longer this goes on, I think the worse it's going to look for Democrats.
00:23:38.720 So far, Trump's played it perfectly.
00:23:39.960 He should ramp up the pressure.
00:23:42.520 Hold on.
00:23:43.120 Pull over your car.
00:23:44.180 Stop dead in your tracks.
00:23:46.340 Go to stopboxusa.com.
00:23:48.940 Use code Knowles.
00:23:50.080 Owning a handgun can put you in a tough spot.
00:23:52.600 I'm just realizing as I'm reading this ad right now that I actually had a dream about a handgun last night.
00:23:57.580 That's all.
00:23:58.340 I clearly, well, luckily I don't need to have nightmares because of Stopbox.
00:24:03.320 You need your gun to be secure but accessible.

00:24:31.600 It's very, very important.
00:24:33.300 Stopbox has been phenomenal in making sure firearms are kept away from all those sorts of people

00:25:21.180 Moving away from what's going on in Los Angeles, but just one last point on the broader immigration issue.
00:25:30.180 I saw the most ridiculous defense of the Mexican flag-waving marauders yesterday.
00:25:37.880 This was on Twitter.
00:25:41.640 Crunk on the rocks is the account.
00:25:43.540 It says, oh, this was in response to a post that I made, actually, because I said, you know, look, other immigrant groups have had problems and everything, but they're not currently burning down any major American cities.
00:25:57.340 And this guy says, the Irish literally rioted against the Civil War draft in 1863 and lynched black Americans in New York.
00:26:07.440 That's how he's got to go back to 1863 to find a counterexample.
00:26:10.420 Italian anarchists bombed Wall Street in 1920.
00:26:13.600 We've actually talked about that on this show.
00:26:15.480 Greek laborers in the West clashed violently with mining companies.
00:26:19.620 Mine, when was that?
00:26:20.340 19th century?
00:26:21.940 These ethnic groups weren't always peaceful.
00:26:24.140 Model citizens.
00:26:24.900 Selective amnesia is a wild thing.
00:26:26.740 And that's a fair point.
00:26:29.160 He puts a cap on it.
00:26:30.640 He says, every group has a 100 years ago when they were poor, marginalized, and or blamed for society's problems.
00:26:35.340 The difference isn't moral superiority.
00:26:37.000 It's time integration and a chance to build institutions.
00:26:39.660 He's kind of got a point here.
00:26:42.600 But let's follow that point to its logical conclusion.
00:26:45.820 How did we fix the problems caused by immigrant groups 100 years ago?
00:26:52.600 He's right.
00:26:53.500 He's right.
00:26:53.820 Plenty of immigrant groups have caused a lot of social problems.
00:26:57.460 That might be an argument against immigration as something at the heart of national policy.
00:27:03.780 Reminds me of a line from Dante.
00:27:06.140 Sempre la confusione delle persone fu mal della città or something.
00:27:16.520 I don't know.
00:27:16.940 It was a, I forget.
00:27:18.500 The Italian is losing me.
00:27:19.920 Even the English translation is losing me.
00:27:21.400 The broad gist is always the confusion of peoples is the beginning of evil in the city.
00:27:26.880 And he compares it to mixing different foods in your stomach.
00:27:30.820 So it, and that's an insight that actually goes back to Aristotle.
00:27:34.060 So there are always these problems with immigration.
00:27:35.260 But let's just take it in the American context.
00:27:37.060 We have had a lot of immigration.
00:27:37.980 How did we fix it 100 years ago?
00:27:40.580 We basically stopped all immigration for like 40 years.
00:27:45.860 We, there were all these problems in the late 19th, early 20th century with mass migration,
00:27:49.640 all kinds of social problems.
00:27:50.700 So what do we do?
00:27:51.440 We had the Immigration Act of 1924.
00:27:54.060 And we reduced all migration by about 85% for over 40 years.
00:27:58.760 Then we had the Hart-Celler Act in the 60s, which created our present immigration problem,
00:28:05.660 instituted the policy of mass migration, gave us the social problems we have now.
00:28:08.620 But you're right.
00:28:09.180 You don't, I don't think Mexicans are intrinsically evil or something like that.
00:28:12.360 I don't think they're a defective people or anything like that.
00:28:15.760 I don't really care for Mexican food, but I do like a lot of the Hispanic inclinations
00:28:21.140 and behaviors.
00:28:21.740 And some of the cultures, great.
00:28:23.320 But burning down LA is bad.
00:28:26.520 And so what do we do about that?
00:28:28.020 Well, probably if you want to integrate people and you need time to do that, probably we need
00:28:34.820 to drastically reduce all migration for like half a century, at least.
00:28:40.900 Are you, are you willing to do that?
00:28:42.680 How's that?
00:28:43.280 If you, if you want the solution we had in the 20th century, how about we do that?
00:28:45.760 I, something tells me these libs on Twitter and elsewhere would, would not go along with it.
00:28:51.420 Speaking of Twitter and immigration enforcement, it was a great little saga that went on yesterday.
00:28:57.040 It involved the vice president of the United States.
00:28:58.740 I will try to be pithy about this.
00:29:01.780 There's this account.
00:29:02.880 If you're on, if you're on X, you, you might be familiar with this account.
00:29:06.820 The account is a, a dye work wear, Derek guy.
00:29:12.400 And he's, he's this guy, his avatar is of an old stuffy conservative white man.
00:29:17.880 He's apparently a young Asian man, but that's the avatar.
00:29:21.140 And he gives men's sartorial critiques.
00:29:24.880 It's a menswear account.
00:29:25.880 And it's actually got pretty good content.
00:29:27.800 I kind of like it.
00:29:28.420 He's super liberal.
00:29:29.520 So he basically only ever attacks conservatives and he's in principle criticizing us over our fashion,
00:29:35.720 but really it's, he's got this political axe to grind.
00:29:39.300 So he injects his left-wing politics into every, everything now, but he's, he's got decent enough
00:29:44.920 insights on, on men's style.
00:29:46.340 So anyway, he's really, really grading on a lot of conservatives on Twitter.
00:29:50.720 However, he admitted yesterday or the day before that he is an illegal immigrant.
00:29:57.080 His family came over when he was a little kid.
00:29:59.140 And so he's an illegal.
00:30:00.740 And someone tweets that, doesn't even tag the guy, just tweets that says,
00:30:04.240 JD Vance, I know you're reading this and you have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.
00:30:07.720 And, this is great, JD responds.
00:30:13.480 And the vice president responds with that, that gif of Jack Nicholson saying, like, ha ha, yes, yes, nodding his head along.
00:30:22.160 I love it.
00:30:23.320 First of all, on the substantive point, I've got a proposal for Democrats.
00:30:28.720 It's, I'm willing to offer amnesty and indeed citizenship to all estimated 16 million illegal
00:30:37.080 aliens in this country, including MS-13 and Trendy Aragua, if we can deport the catty liberal
00:30:46.660 Twitter account, the, the, the men's style guy.
00:30:49.280 If we can do that, that's my deal.
00:30:51.460 Okay.
00:30:52.600 You get amnesty and citizenship for all of the illegals.
00:30:55.180 Just let me deport this one super annoying liberal account.
00:30:58.060 That's, putting aside the substantive issue, this response tells you a lot about our vice president.
00:31:07.140 JD Vance, and many of you have noticed this, I've noticed this for a while.
00:31:11.340 JD Vance is more in tune with young conservatives than any politician in the country, either party, maybe any politician in my lifetime.
00:31:24.100 I can't think, I'm speaking specifically about young conservatives.
00:31:30.440 He is online.
00:31:32.360 He's not super duper very way too online, like some people can get where they're just so far down a rabbit hole, they can't speak to normal people in, in regular life.
00:31:42.720 But he's online enough to get the trends of where young conservatives are compared to middle-aged or older conservatives.
00:31:50.640 He's fluent in their language.
00:31:52.380 And as you look ahead to 2028, that is going to give him an advantage over a lot of the other Republicans who want that job, including some who work in the Trump administration right now.
00:32:03.760 Now, this guy has a fluency to move in different circles, which I think is very important in really any politician, but certainly for conservatives, where the conservatives are so divided up.
00:32:15.520 You know, the liberals basically are all progressive.
00:32:17.800 There are different degrees of progressive.
00:32:19.340 There are no more blue dog Democrats as there used to be, the more conservative Democrats.
00:32:22.760 For the conservatives, though, you've got the foreign policy realists, you've got the more adventurous types, you've got the libertarians, you've got the traditionalists, you've got the free traders, you've got the tariff guys, you've got the meme-y, edgy, more reactionary types, you've got the stodgy, establishment, quasi-liberal types.
00:32:43.100 You've got everything under the sun.
00:32:45.260 As has been said before, obscure political monikers are the right-wing version of gender pronouns.
00:32:50.460 So, one of Trump's great advantages is, he can speak to basically all those groups.
00:32:56.520 He can speak to the establishment, he can speak to the edgy guys, he can speak to the youths, he can speak to the older crowd.
00:33:02.180 He's fluent, so he's able to bring together a coalition of people who generally don't agree with each other.
00:33:07.440 And I don't want to read too much into one meme on Twitter, but J.D. Vance seems to have that skill.
00:33:15.200 And especially for someone in a younger generation, as the electorate ages up a little bit, that's impressive.
00:33:24.260 And it was funny, and we should deport the menswear guy.
00:33:27.200 Did you know that over 85% of grass-fed beef sold in U.S. grocery stores is imported?

00:34:31.820 My favorite comment yesterday is from Time for Thought One,
00:34:34.880 who says, City of Angels turned into hell.
00:34:38.260 How ironic.
00:34:39.240 I actually think it's not ironic.
00:34:40.620 I get your point.
00:34:41.720 It seems ironic because Los Angeles is supposed to be the City of Angels,
00:34:45.580 and now it's turned into this blazing inferno.
00:34:48.500 But that's what happens.
00:34:51.020 That's what happens in this fallen world.
00:34:52.560 And there is a theme in American history because we were founded largely by Puritans and separatists
00:35:02.680 who came over on the Mayflower, which is a great cigar brand, by the way.
00:35:06.120 Because of that, there is this theme that moves through American history of the shining city on a hill
00:35:11.580 that we're going to create in this new innocent virgin land, a new Jerusalem, a heavenly city.
00:35:20.260 And we're going to be different.
00:35:22.600 We're going to be exempted from the corruption of the world, from concupiscence, from the fall.
00:35:28.600 We're just this special, totally exceptional thing.
00:35:31.680 And that's a theme that runs down the most Puritanical strains of Protestantism.
00:35:35.780 That is not really a theme in high church Protestantism or Eastern Orthodoxy or certainly in Catholicism.
00:35:43.540 That's not.
00:35:43.860 We recognize this is a fallen world, man.
00:35:46.080 And the minute you think in this world that you're going to create the City of Angels,
00:35:49.520 it's going to be a city of demons.
00:35:51.340 The minute you think you're going to build heaven on earth, you're going to build hell.
00:35:55.560 Okay?
00:35:55.880 Because that's just, that's how it works.
00:35:57.640 Going back to Babel, at least.
00:35:59.320 Now, speaking of vice and virtue, there is an infographic going around social media.
00:36:09.560 And it's based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, oddly enough,
00:36:13.920 that shows the annual expenditures that each generation is making on booze.
00:36:21.340 And so the post goes, Gen Z and alcohol, a fading bond.
00:36:26.140 Annual expenditure on alcoholic beverages in the U.S. by generation.
00:36:29.480 Boomers, over $25 billion.
00:36:32.340 More like boozers, if you ask me.
00:36:34.620 Am I right?
00:36:35.380 Am I right?
00:36:36.160 Gen X, just a little bit less, $23 billion.
00:36:41.180 Millennials, a little bit more, but basically on par with Gen X, $23.5 billion.
00:36:48.020 And then Gen Z, $3.13 billion.
00:36:51.240 Way, way down there.
00:36:52.260 Now, you might say, okay, well, some of Gen Z is still underage.
00:36:55.420 I guess that's true.
00:36:57.580 That's true.
00:36:58.120 That accounts for some of it.
00:37:00.380 But I don't think it accounts for all of it.
00:37:03.280 And you've seen this from the Gen Z influencers.
00:37:06.800 People will say, well, we're not that interested in alcohol anymore.
00:37:10.540 There's a kind of teetotaling or apparent teetotaling that goes on with the Zoomers.
00:37:15.260 They're reacting maybe against the booziness of the prior generations.
00:37:18.560 Could be that.
00:37:19.120 Some people are saying, this is good.
00:37:20.900 They're getting healthy.
00:37:22.420 They're not engaging in vice.
00:37:24.600 But I read something a little worse into this.
00:37:26.960 I think this trend is driven in part by age.
00:37:29.860 They're a little bit younger.
00:37:30.580 They don't quite have a lot of money yet.
00:37:32.580 Drinks at fancy bars in the cities.
00:37:34.900 Most Americans live in and around cities.
00:37:36.540 They've gotten kind of expensive.
00:37:37.680 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:37:38.140 Blah, blah, blah.
00:37:38.620 That's all true.
00:37:39.080 But I think what drives the rest of the gap is not people who are being super-duper virtuous.
00:37:46.880 I think it's being driven by loners and stoners.
00:37:50.000 And I think that's actually a bad thing.
00:37:52.540 Gen Z, survey after survey shows, is more isolated.
00:37:57.320 And they're not unique in that way.
00:37:58.860 They're just the peak thus far of a trend that we've seen for decades.
00:38:05.260 Ever since Robert Putnam's bowling alone, that people are less social.
00:38:09.080 They're not members of civic associations as they used to be.
00:38:12.200 Now they don't even really go and hang out much anymore.
00:38:14.900 When they hang out with people, it's often virtual.
00:38:17.960 It's on cell phones.
00:38:18.820 It's on FaceTime.
00:38:19.640 It's on video games.
00:38:21.160 Sitting in their rooms alone.
00:38:23.820 And generally, people don't drink alone.
00:38:27.900 Also, one thing that they do alone is smoke pot.
00:38:32.080 So you've seen a huge rise in marijuana.
00:38:34.780 And I know, hold on, before we, I'm just going to sidestep the whole debate.
00:38:37.240 People are going to say, well, actually, marijuana is way better for you than alcohol.
00:38:40.300 And have you ever seen a pothead get into a bar fight?
00:38:42.560 And actually, it's really healthy.
00:38:43.940 And actually, it cures every disease.
00:38:45.760 And actually, it's natural.
00:38:47.500 How could something natural be bad?
00:38:49.300 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:38:49.980 Whatever.
00:38:50.440 I'm not even getting into the debate right now over how marijuana is supposedly better than alcohol.
00:38:55.600 It's not.
00:38:56.100 But I'm not even getting into that debate right now.
00:38:57.520 All I'm pointing out is, it's a very different thing to say.
00:39:01.240 We're not having alcohol because we're going to go pray all night.
00:39:04.240 And we're not having alcohol because we're going to go get blitzed out of our mind on our bong.
00:39:10.100 You know, those are different things.
00:39:12.900 Okay.
00:39:13.040 The place the two issues interact is that alcohol is a social lubricant.
00:39:23.960 It makes you more sociable, which is good in moderation because man is a social creature.
00:39:30.620 So we are most ourselves when we are living in society.
00:39:34.060 We are less human when we isolate ourselves.
00:39:37.660 We're not atomized individuals in our nature.
00:39:40.680 Pot, marijuana, ganja, the old Peruvian parsley, it makes you less social.
00:39:50.720 In my experience, having taken a few puffs now and again, it makes you less social.
00:39:56.360 Booze makes you more social.
00:39:57.840 If you're going to have to pick a vice, pick the social one.
00:40:01.760 You see this even beyond civic associations, going to bars or whatever.
00:40:06.060 Even the fact that Gen Z is dating at lower rates, that it's just, this has not.
00:40:12.920 Here I'm being a true conservative and looking at any information about the world and just saying,
00:40:17.180 oh, it's actually a bad thing.
00:40:18.080 But I think this is actually a bad thing.
00:40:21.860 Abstinence can be fine.
00:40:23.180 It can even be good.
00:40:24.980 If you got a problem with alcohol, it's good for you not to have alcohol.
00:40:27.440 But as this generational trend, I think this is not a good sign.
00:40:33.720 Not a good sign, folks.
00:40:36.200 Don't be loners and stoners, man.
00:40:37.980 You got to be social.
00:40:38.920 That's what Aristotle tells us to be, you know.
00:40:42.400 Our Lord's first miracle.
00:40:43.840 Just to show you that alcohol is not intrinsically evil.
00:40:45.980 Our Lord's first miracle.
00:40:48.080 Turning water into wine for people to celebrate a wedding.
00:40:51.340 It's good stuff.
00:40:51.920 A wedding, which is when people are social and they get married and they have kids,
00:40:54.660 which is what you need to do too.
00:40:56.600 Listen up.
00:40:57.360 Listen up, kids.
00:40:58.400 Take it from an elderly man like me, a millennial.
00:41:00.900 Okay, speaking of people like me, there's a tennis player.
00:41:06.620 Her name is Coco Gauff.
00:41:08.480 I had not heard of her before yesterday, but now I have heard of her.
00:41:11.680 She has apparently won the French Open and she's an American.
00:41:16.400 And when she was pontificating about her victory, she said she was proud to represent,
00:41:23.340 not America, but to represent people in America who look like her.
00:41:28.440 That is, she's proud, not for Americans, but for black people.
00:41:32.880 Yeah, I mean, it means a lot.
00:41:34.520 And, you know, obviously there's a lot going on in our country right now with things like
00:41:38.860 everything.
00:41:39.620 Um, yeah, I'm sure you guys know, but just to be able to be a, and be a representation
00:41:47.500 of that and a representation of, um, I guess people that look like me in America who maybe
00:41:52.660 don't feel as supported during this time period.
00:41:55.400 And so just being that reflection of hope and, and light for those people.
00:42:00.220 And I remember, um, you know, after the election, everything, it was kind of felt down period
00:42:05.380 a little bit and things like that.
00:42:06.780 And my mom told me like during Riyadh, just try to win the tournament just to give something
00:42:10.780 for people to smile for.
00:42:12.240 And so that's what I was thinking about today when holding that and then seeing the flags
00:42:15.940 in the crowd, um, means a lot.
00:42:17.720 And, you know, I, you know, some people may feel some type of way about being patriotic and
00:42:22.540 things like that, but I'm definitely patriotic.
00:42:24.240 Like I'm proud to be American and I'm proud to represent, you know, the Americans that
00:42:29.000 look like me and, and people who kind of support the things that I support.
00:42:32.920 You keep using that word patriotism.
00:42:35.140 I don't think it means what you think it means.
00:42:37.480 She says, no, I mean, people feel a certain way about patriotism and I feel that way, you
00:42:41.680 know?
00:42:42.300 I mean, I'm proud to be American.
00:42:45.020 I'm proud to represent Americans who look like me, which means you're not proud to be American.
00:42:52.960 You're proud to be black.
00:42:54.240 Maybe, maybe a black American.
00:42:56.320 Maybe you don't feel any kinship to a Nigerian or something, but you, you apparently only
00:43:01.000 feel kinship to the Americans who look like you, which is not patriotism.
00:43:05.300 Patriotism is love of country, including your countrymen who don't look like you.
00:43:11.240 And this is where the left is at.
00:43:13.600 The left, and we've known this for decades at this point, the left is not patriotic.
00:43:20.940 The left doesn't love the country.
00:43:23.360 The mainstream leftists say that the country is evil and was founded in sin.
00:43:29.400 They try to redefine original sin.
00:43:31.400 This is founded in this sin that can never be redeemed because there's no, because they
00:43:37.860 also reject God.
00:43:38.640 So there's no redemption for the original sin of slavery or racism or Native American removal
00:43:43.480 or whatever.
00:43:44.040 It's just, it's just, it's just the country's evil and you need a constant revolution to
00:43:48.300 try to, to try to fix that in, in, in futility.
00:43:51.300 That the America is a force for evil in the world and we really should cede our land and
00:43:58.240 our money and our technology and our borders.
00:44:01.520 And this is not just a case of, look at this crazy, ungrateful young athlete who I've never
00:44:07.220 heard of.
00:44:07.640 It's not.
00:44:08.200 She's, she, what, she doesn't know anything.
00:44:11.520 She, I guess, knows how to swing a tennis racket and that's apparently it.
00:44:15.880 She's just saying what she's heard from elite and prominent left winger.
00:44:22.100 And what she's heard is don't be a patriot.
00:44:26.360 And unfortunately for the Democrats right now, the, the followers are listening.
00:44:31.960 So they're going out.
00:44:33.220 And if the, if the protesters, so-called the rioters were smart, the Mexican ones and the
00:44:39.720 anarchist ones and the Keffia wearing ones and all of them, if they were smart, they would
00:44:44.960 go out there and while they're looting and robbing and setting things on fire and punching
00:44:48.320 cops, they would wave the American flag.
00:44:51.720 That would confuse a lot of people.
00:44:55.140 They would, this is politics 101.
00:44:56.780 Wrap yourself in the American flag.
00:45:00.260 They, they're not doing that.
00:45:01.660 They can't, they're allergic to the American flag.
00:45:03.820 They don't, they, they feel much more represented by the terrorist pride flag, you know, the rainbow
00:45:07.840 with the triangle thing and the BLM and whatever.
00:45:09.780 They, they feel much more represented by that or by the Palestine flag or by the anarchist
00:45:16.120 flag or by any of these other flags than the American flags.
00:45:19.920 They can't do it.
00:45:20.580 Which means you now create the scene where the political divide is clear as day for everyone,
00:45:26.400 for the normie on main street in Palookaville, which is you have one side of the country
00:45:31.000 that doesn't like the country, that doesn't have the interests of the country at heart.
00:45:35.980 And you have another side of the country, the Trump side, which does care about the country
00:45:41.180 and which wraps itself in the flag and which puts the interests of the United States first
00:45:46.800 above the interests of other countries.
00:45:48.340 And that's the divide.
00:45:51.300 Which side is going to be more politically popular?
00:45:54.100 Doesn't take a genius.
00:45:55.460 And if the Democrats want to keep burning down their own cities, that's fine.
00:45:59.140 Every second this goes on, it is losing them votes.
00:46:02.160 Those sweltering summer nights that leave you tossing and turning, desperately kicking
00:46:05.340 off the covers, don't have to ruin your sleep.
