The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 1768 - Did USAID Cause COVID？

00:00:00.000 Did USAID cause COVID? While Americans are still fuming that we're apparently never getting the

00:00:06.660 full story on Jeffrey Epstein, months after fuming that we're apparently never getting

00:00:11.500 the full story on JFK's assassination, I've got another doozy for you based on a shocking new

00:00:17.680 report about USAID's involvement with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is that we're never

00:00:23.800 going to get the whole story on COVID either. And I will tell you exactly why. I'm Michael

00:00:27.760 Knowles. It's the Michael Knowles Show. Welcome back to the show. A woman has gone viral for 0.99

00:00:50.760 celebrating the fact that her mother-in-law is carrying her baby as a surrogate. So the grandma

00:00:57.480 is carrying the baby. And this is supposed to be a good thing. And we'll get into what it all means.

00:01:04.720 I have much more to say. First, though, text Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S, to 98-98-98. The

00:01:10.780 administration is doing a lot of really good stuff. Things are improving in the country.

00:01:15.000 Would have been obviously a train wreck had Kamala Harris won. So we're all looking good. However,

00:01:21.060 it's very difficult for the administration to take your personal finances into account

00:01:25.260 when trying to do what's right for the country. You have to do that. That is why tens of thousands

00:01:30.360 of Americans are buying gold right now from Birch Gold. Here are the facts. In the past 12 months,

00:01:35.580 the value of gold has increased by 40 percent. You know, I'm a little bit of a gold bug. I have

00:01:39.740 a decent amount of gold in my portfolio. So I'm very excited about that. I'm very glad that I have

00:01:44.840 gold. Central banks continue to bolster demand for gold by buying in record quantities. And global

00:01:50.300 instability and tension is the highest in decades. You can find peace of mind in gold. Birch Gold makes

00:01:55.340 it extremely easy to convert an existing IRA or 401k into a tax-sheltered IRA in physical gold.

00:02:00.800 Or just buy some to store at home. Text my name, Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S, to 98-98-98. Birch Gold will

00:02:07.400 send you a free info kit on gold. No obligation, only useful information. With an A-plus rating with the

00:02:12.440 Better Business Bureau, tens of thousands of happy customers, it is time for you to take control of your

00:02:18.040 savings today. Text the word Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S, to 98-98-98. Did USAID, the much maligned,

00:02:27.620 rightly maligned USAID, the Agency for International Development, which Elon and Rubio and ultimately

00:02:35.140 Trump slashed, did it cause COVID? The Daily Caller has an exclusive report out, really good report,

00:02:42.940 Emily Kopp, about how the U.S. Agency for International Development shipped thousands

00:02:48.500 of viral samples to a lab in Wuhan over the course of a 10-year program, even though it had no formal

00:02:55.700 agreement with the lab in place, this according to previously unreported documents. USAID funded the

00:03:03.220 exportation of 11,000 samples from Yunnan province, Yunnan province where some of the closest relatives

00:03:10.660 of COVID-19 circulate, to Wuhan, where COVID-19 began, with no apparent plan for ensuring the

00:03:20.320 samples were not misdirected to bioweapons and remained accessible to the U.S. government.

00:03:24.700 This was a $210 million USAID public health program. It's kind of funny, it's public health.

00:03:31.600 And as with so many of these liberal programs, it undermined the thing that it was ostensibly after.

00:03:37.580 It goes on, it's a good report, you should read it. So this on the heels of Epstein, where there's

00:03:42.720 this preposterous line coming out now that actually Jeffrey Epstein, there was no client list. Okay,

00:03:49.000 maybe there's not a formal list. There are clients though, right? No, there are no clients.

00:03:53.480 So Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison for trafficking underage girls to no one? Can we free Ghislaine?

00:04:02.000 Free Ghislaine, what? She's in prison for no reason. All those really rich, powerful guys that

00:04:06.660 were palling around with Jeffrey Epstein some dozens of times, prime ministers, royalty, billionaires,

00:04:12.280 they were just, it was just a coincidence, big, crazy coincidence. So right on the heels of the

00:04:17.760 Epstein line, the Epstein conclusion, the Epstein stop asking questions, move along, move along,

00:04:25.840 nothing to see here. After the decades delayed release of the JFK documents, which reveals no

00:04:33.640 further information whatsoever about the assassination of JFK. Now we got another one,

00:04:37.940 which is that USAID, we already knew that NIH was associated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

00:04:45.620 We already knew that Dr. Fauci, in fact, was associated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology

00:04:50.620 through grant programs, including on gain of function research. But now we're seeing USAID

00:04:56.720 directly. We're shipping over 10,000 virus samples from the place that has similar viruses to COVID

00:05:04.780 to the place where COVID started. And it raises questions. Is there more to this story? How

00:05:12.800 involved were we? What did we know? When did we know it? And once again, I hate to be the bearer of,

00:05:20.020 I won't call it bad news. I won't call it good news. It's just facts, which is you're never going to

00:05:25.780 get the whole story. You are never going to get the full story on COVID. And part of the reason is

00:05:31.880 that the story certainly involves us. I'm not saying it's our fault. I don't think it's our

00:05:36.980 fault, COVID. I don't think Epstein Island is our fault. I don't think the JFK assassination is our

00:05:43.960 fault. But we, the United States, the US government, the US political order is involved in all these

00:05:51.500 things. And the reason that the US is involved is that we are the global empire. We're the global

00:05:58.140 empire. We are involved in everything. We're involved in everything. We have knowledge. We

00:06:04.100 have at least a little bit of knowledge of basically everything in the world. We have people, we have

00:06:08.820 operatives all over the world. We have interests all over the world. And so we're implicated in

00:06:17.060 basically everything that happens all over the world. That's why. The best explanation I've heard

00:06:22.120 as to why the government, neither the Biden administration nor the Trump administration,

00:06:26.120 are releasing all the juicy details about the Epstein sex island is because it would unravel

00:06:33.220 the world order. Because it does seem like a blackmail ring ensnaring many of the most important

00:06:39.820 people in the world. And so if you tugged on that thread, wars could break out. Alliances would be

00:06:45.660 shattered. The global order would fall apart. That's the most persuasive argument that I've

00:06:50.260 heard. That Epstein island really is the thing that we all kind of thought it was. And as a result,

00:06:55.800 you're not going to get the information. And it doesn't mean that we did it. Doesn't mean that we

00:07:00.220 were the ones who were behind the whole thing. But we probably kind of knew about it. How did Epstein

00:07:04.140 get that sweetheart deal 20 years ago? They had him dead to rights on underage girls. And then he gets

00:07:09.760 this sweetheart deal at Palm Beach, Palm Beach vacation penitentiary where he gets to come and

00:07:15.660 go as he pleases basically. Come on, give me a break. He's still meeting with prime ministers

00:07:19.820 and royalty after he was convicted of sex offenses. Come on, give me a break.

00:07:28.660 But maybe Alex Acosta is right. What Alex Acosta, the US attorney who was up for labor secretary,

00:07:35.400 reportedly said, just that, well, he belonged to intelligence or he had some intelligence. Yeah.

00:07:40.160 And maybe we knew something about the Wuhan laboratory and maybe we were somehow involved.

00:07:44.440 Yeah, right. Cause we're the global empire and we're involved in everything. And it's why we're

00:07:49.100 not going to be totally transparent. And it's why we're not going to just nix alliances willy nilly.

00:07:54.680 And it's why we're not going to retreat and only look at ourselves. And it's why the phrase

00:07:59.920 America first cannot mean what some people want it to mean, which is that we ignore the rest of the

00:08:04.540 world. That's not what Trump thinks America first means. That's never been what he thinks

00:08:08.500 America first means. Trump has an imperial political vision. So for him, America first

00:08:12.960 means we're going to put our interests first. We're going to lead the world in a way that is

00:08:18.360 more conducive to our flourishing. But so long as we're the global empire, we're going to be

00:08:23.700 involved in everything and you're not going to get the full story on very much. Now, speaking of the

00:08:28.280 Chinese, a much more important story, Sierra Ortega has been kicked off of Love Island.

00:08:35.300 Don't know what Love Island is? I didn't either until last night when I Googled it.

00:08:39.720 Love Island is some reality TV show where people get together, they shack up in a villa and they have

00:08:45.840 to have a couple and they try to stay on the island and they can break up and they can, you know, 0.98

00:08:52.160 do like weird stuff and they, but it's, it's, it's trash, trash TV, absolute garbage, but it's very 0.99

00:08:59.120 popular. And one of the stars of Love Island, Sierra Ortega has been kicked off. She's been canceled for 0.97

00:09:05.540 a horrible, horrible transgression. She said things in unearthed social media posts that demand that her 1.00

00:09:14.080 life be over. She issued a groveling apology for these terrible things that she did. Here's the

00:09:20.340 apology. I know a lot of people have been waiting for me to speak up about the news that's come to

00:09:24.940 light recently. And now that I've been back in the U S for about 48 hours and I've had the chance to

00:09:29.100 process, I now feel like I'm at a space where I can speak about this without being highly emotional

00:09:34.920 because I am not the victim in this situation. While I was in the villa, there were some posts that

00:09:40.780 resurfaced from my past where I was very naively using an incredibly offensive and derogatory term. And

00:09:47.620 before I get into the details, I want to first start by addressing not just anyone that I have

00:09:52.180 hurt or deeply offended, but most importantly, the entire Asian community. I am deeply, truly,

00:10:00.960 honestly, so sorry. I had no idea that the word held as much pain as much harm and came with the

00:10:10.240 history that it did, or I never would have used it. What did this woman say? I just want, I have to

00:10:16.840 issue a public apology. The horrific, terrible things I've done are worse than genocide, really.

00:10:23.480 I could not have ever committed a more grievous sin. I am beyond redemption. And I, I hope that an

00:10:32.840 executioner will come with a giant ax and lop my head off for my grievous offenses. What did she say? 0.99

00:10:38.920 Apparently, in some old social media post, she joked that her face looks a little chinky because I don't

00:10:49.640 know, her eyes are kind of small or something. Chinky. That was it. That was the line that her life is 1.00

00:10:57.700 over for now, that she's issuing a groveling apology to the masses because she said she looks

00:11:03.280 chinky. I mean, a little bit like Chinese. The word comes from China, China. That's the worst you 0.81

00:11:09.840 got. The worst you got is not saying it's a nice word. I don't know. I wouldn't go around yelling

00:11:14.040 it from the rooftops, but that what this woman is joking that she looks kind of Chinese. This woman 0.99

00:11:21.300 who does in fact look a little bit Chinese. What is she? She's Hispanic, which means she probably has 0.99

00:11:26.460 a fair bit of indigenous admixture. The indigenous admixture, which does look kind of East Asian

00:11:31.500 sometimes from the right angle. And that's it? I instantly thought of one of my favorite movies

00:11:40.440 from the 2000s, Gran Torino. You remember Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood? He plays this grizzled 1.00

00:11:45.860 old guy who, for the entire movie, uses all sorts of offensive terms for Asians in particular,

00:11:53.600 but also for black people and the Irish and just about everybody.

00:11:58.440 Just compare Sierra Ortega saying, oh, my face looks a little chinky, tee hee hee, to compare that, 0.98

00:12:07.720 for which her life is now over, to one of the most celebrated movies of the 2000s.

00:12:11.940 Have some respect, sipperhead. Get off my lawn. You're suspect. Like you five feet high in Korea. Use you for sandbags. I kept a bunch of jabbering gooks off of my lawn. When we were in Korea and a thousand screaming gooks came across our line, we didn't call the police. What are you fish heads looking at anyway? I've got more in common with these gooks than I do my own spoiled rotten family. Happy birthday. Why don't we go down and get some of that good gook foods? You know, I'm still over. I'm still over. I don't know. I'm still over. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don 1.00

00:12:41.940 starving you're wrong egg roll i know exactly what i'm talking about you're letting click

00:12:47.040 clack ding dong and charlie chan just walk out with miss what's-her-face get me another beer 0.99

00:12:51.940 dragon lady you're gonna get the wrong one you're gonna blow your gook head right off all right 1.00

00:12:55.540 come on zipper head uh let the mix stay here and what kill that cousin of yours and the rest of 1.00

00:13:01.680 those zips okay so it goes on i actually don't even think that's all of them but it goes on

00:13:06.800 it was clint eastwood canceled for that movie no more importantly was the character was he the

00:13:13.700 villain this is what really matters because you say well clint eastwood's playing a character right

00:13:17.820 was the character the villain or the hero that character who used all sorts of naughty words

00:13:23.580 much worse words for the same group of people than chinky he was the hero why why why is this woman 1.00

00:13:33.200 sierra ortega so wrong to apologize because she wasn't using the phrase in a contemptuous way 1.00

00:13:41.120 that's why that's why clint eastwood is the hero in the movie because he uses all these naughty words

00:13:45.760 but then you see what he says they're one of the great lines right in the middle of that clip he goes

00:13:48.820 i got more in common with these gooks than with my own spoiled relatives right he's saying i use all 1.00

00:13:55.700 these words for the irish for the blacks for the asians for the this but i i don't hate them and in fact

00:14:01.540 i love them and in fact spoiler alert on the movie he sacrifices his life to help them that's the key

00:14:09.380 here had had sierra ortega used this term in a contemptuous antagonistic kind of way then then 1.00

00:14:16.720 you'd say okay maybe we should cancel people for that but to just use it as a kind of funny word

00:14:21.360 if i come into the office and i i see our ad pavel and i call him a giant polack and then pavel 0.51

00:14:29.960 turns to me and he calls me a greasy guido or something and then pavel and i turn to professor

00:14:36.660 jacob and call him shylock no one would bat an eyelash not one of us would bat an eyelash

00:14:41.160 because none of those words would be used in in contempt or hostility

00:14:45.960 because these kinds of words can be used in a way that is actually affectionate and familiar

00:14:52.220 that's that's something that we have completely missed in our culture we have we often we discuss

00:14:59.020 the crisis of meaning we have this is a great example of it because we are trapped in modernity

00:15:06.540 by the literal and the carnal we just deny that anything has meaning we deny that our bodies mean

00:15:12.980 something we deny even that our words can have meaning meaning objective meaning outside of themselves

00:15:19.260 the signs and symbols but it's so disingenuous to cancel this girl this reality tv girl because

00:15:26.600 she used a a racially kind of edgy word in a way that was perfectly affectionate she says i look this

00:15:33.460 way i look like these people does she hate herself no she's just being kind of funny and we all have to 0.61

00:15:40.760 pretend that she's you know bringing back jim crow or something it's so ridiculous and it just gets to 0.85

00:15:48.300 this this modern problem which is we focus entirely on the literal on the carnal we totally ignore the

00:15:54.660 spiritual we totally ignore the meaning the thing that that which is signified it gets us back to

00:16:00.700 what saint paul harps on quite a lot which is that if you don't have charity you're you've got nothing

00:16:07.740 you have nothing if you don't have charity and that's really what this is all about it's all about

00:16:11.200 the charity clint eastwood and grant torino is the hero because he has charity he has love for these

00:16:15.940 people i don't think sierra ortega was without charity in that line but no we we as a culture

00:16:22.860 have to take the least charitable view of everyone and everything great great see where that leads you

00:16:28.400 now speaking of naughty words and obviously missing the meaning president trump is in big trouble this

00:16:33.940 is a story that happened while i was away but it totally relates to what what is going on on love

00:16:39.300 island which is that donald trump used a naughty word that refers to jews and now he's being called

00:16:48.280 hitler hold on one second many many more pearls of wisdom to give you but first you must go to

00:18:17.120 right good ranchers american meat delivered president trump is in trouble now he is in trouble you know why

00:18:24.420 because he used a very naughty word that is sometimes used to refer to jews but if you love

00:18:31.280 them or if you love somebody that you're leaving it to think of that no death tax no estate tax no

00:18:36.340 going to the banks and borrowings from in some cases a fine banker and in some cases shylocks and bad people 1.00

00:18:44.260 okay so you gotta go he's promoting his new policies that's great he says you gotta go sometimes you

00:18:51.540 look not all bankers are bad sometimes you go to a good banker sometimes you go to a shylock shylock 1.00

00:18:56.340 that's an anti-semitic word trump was was asked about this here's his response

00:19:01.700 i wanted to ask you about one of the words you used during your speech shylocks that's widely viewed as

00:19:08.280 an anti-semitic phrase do you intend for that word to be used no i've never heard it that way to be

00:19:14.120 shylock is somebody that's a a money lender at high rates i've never heard it that way you view

00:19:20.400 it differently than me i've never heard that

00:19:22.980 but anything else no sorry sorry i don't i don't that's not what i mean you know i never heard that

00:19:32.200 whatever moving on and he gets away with it and do you know what he should get away with it shylock is 0.98

00:19:37.740 it actually is a term that refers to jews because it comes from the merchant of venice

00:19:41.040 where the jewish character is shylock great marvelous play and but he's the he's the shylock

00:19:46.920 he's the guy who's lending money in a in an immoral way and and they say you use this anti-semitic word

00:19:54.160 he said no i didn't and he's going to get away with it and you know why he's going to get away with it

00:19:58.180 not because the term shylock cannot be offensive to jews it certainly can be offensive to jews it can 0.99

00:20:03.840 be used with hostility it can be used with cruelty it can be used in a way that is immoral but trump's

00:20:09.820 going to get away with it because no one thinks trump hates the jews does anyone think trump

00:20:15.180 hate the guy has a town in israel named after him the man has jewish grandchildren you kidding you

00:20:23.020 think you're going to convince us that trump hates the jews no he gets to he gets to use the word shylock

00:20:28.440 because he has charity for these people that's really what it comes down to and it's too bad that 0.97

00:20:35.240 the love island girl didn't watch this clip of trump before she issued her groveling and ridiculous 1.00

00:20:38.980 apology because you should say no i don't mean in a bad way shut up i don't mean no i didn't mean in

00:20:45.160 a bad way no one thinks i meant it in a bad way give me a give me a break you you know for trump to

00:20:52.540 use the word shylock in this way it'd be like it'd be like calling a an italian it'd be like calling a 0.99

00:20:58.720 thug a goomba you say goomba a goomba that's an offensive word for italians you say yeah but i'm

00:21:04.800 not referring to all italians and i might even use the phrase to refer to someone who is not italian

00:21:09.980 anyway i'm italian and it doesn't i'm obviously i have charity for these people so give me a break

00:21:15.140 it's not it's ridiculous all stereotypes are true we can joke about them doesn't mean we have to have

00:21:22.140 hostility and cruelty for all sorts of people give me a break the funny the funny thing about the jewish 1.00

00:21:27.140 banker stereotype i was just in italy is the most prominent banking family in the history of the

00:21:31.480 world was the medici it's not it's actually it's an italian family followed by i don't know the 0.92

00:21:38.900 bonsignori or something monte de paschi di siena but even still it doesn't it's ridiculous you don't need

00:21:46.300 to you don't need to go all the way down that rabbit hole i'm sorry i'm sorry reporter i shouldn't

00:21:50.900 have referred to the merchant of venice please i'll leave love island please now give me a break

00:21:55.420 you don't need that if if you have charity you can go about your life in a confident way and you

00:22:00.820 don't need to grovel to these disingenuous mobs okay speaking of rich people elon musk is back in

00:22:08.500 the news his relation to the relationship with the white house is back in the news because the white

00:22:12.860 house chief of staff suzy wiles just went on pod force one a political show to spill the tea 1.00

00:22:20.680 on what really happened with the elon trump breakup similar um the president was very very kind to him

00:22:29.640 and and elon had so much to offer us he knew things we didn't know he knew people and and technologies

00:22:37.120 that we didn't know he it was a it was a great thing when it was a great thing and um and and

00:22:44.260 had a very i think a very troublesome ending why do you think that happened i don't know yeah i don't

00:22:52.580 understand it i don't know i know that what has been said doesn't ring accurate to me but i don't

00:23:01.060 know i i enjoyed working with elon i i think he's a fascinating person and sees the world differently

00:23:08.380 and i think that's probably what the president saw too just a little bit different than the average

00:23:14.600 joe um but but uh certainly came to not a good ending yeah i the president seemed to be very

00:23:22.460 interested in him i mean he would spend a long time you know at dinners and things talking to him

00:23:28.320 closely obviously there was something there but who is the world's richest man might be the world's

00:23:35.860 smartest man honestly yeah he's the world's richest man he might be the world's smartest man

00:23:40.900 he sees the world differently he was great for us we love him he's i enjoyed my time with him but it

00:23:46.020 came to a bad ending i was on tmz yesterday and i think it was harvey pointed out he said you know

00:23:52.700 this doesn't sound trumpy this is usually when trump breaks up with someone they're attacking each 0.99

00:23:58.180 other and he's a loser and he's an idiot and so why is the white house being so nice to elon here 0.99

00:24:02.300 simple no one on the right benefits from a trump musk fight none of us benefit the libs have been 1.00

00:24:11.380 trying to instigate the trump musk fight from the beginning of their relationship but no one on the

00:24:17.060 right benefits from that elon's great i love elon musk elon musk bought us twitter so that the right

00:24:24.820 could have at least one social media platform where we weren't being silenced elon musk donated

00:24:29.340 hundreds of millions of dollars to the trump campaign and it was one of the reasons that trump

00:24:34.900 won re-election elon musk brought in new fresh ideas elon musk brought in doge and all these cool

00:24:42.480 young kids who are going in and streamlining government elon's great trump's the president

00:24:46.740 elon's not the president trump's the president and trump calls the shots and they had some

00:24:52.200 disagreements on things and people are going to side with trump more than they're going to side with

00:24:55.960 elon but we don't want a trump elon fight i think very very smart of the white house suzy wiles played

00:25:03.300 that perfectly i thought president trump has been has been basically pitch perfect on handling the

00:25:09.600 elon thing elon walked back some of his intense accusations and hopefully they just move on maybe

00:25:18.060 they go their separate ways maybe they join forces again in some way but we don't need the trump

00:25:23.220 musk fight sometimes the drama plays really well sometimes the drama does not play well this would

00:25:28.540 be an example of where it would not play well good we move along now speaking of prolific procreators

00:25:34.240 a woman has gone viral for celebrating the fact that her mother-in-law is carrying her own baby 0.55

00:25:39.560 carrying the baby of her son and the younger woman's husband and it's supposed to be a good 0.96

00:26:59.320 purchase thank you lumen for sponsoring this episode there's a video that has gone viral that is at once

00:27:07.140 horrifying and sad sad because you do have sympathy for the woman in the video who is unknowingly

00:27:16.160 expressing horrifying things

00:27:20.480 it's this girl who lost her uterus to cancer

00:27:25.160 guy boy whose mom is willing to carry a baby is this illegal 0.99

00:27:30.760 it feels illegal yeah for sure and they're doing it anyway i guess

00:27:39.140 so right off the bat people are are nauseated by the thought of this a a guy's mother carrying his

00:27:52.120 baby even though it's his baby that he made with another woman and then you feel kind of bad you

00:27:58.100 think well this poor woman you know lost her womb to cancer and so you feel but does do difficult

00:28:03.940 circumstances justify something this gross at least or really immoral i think when you think

00:28:10.640 of the process involved in creating the baby is to create the baby you're going to have to have a

00:28:15.000 guy commit a shameful and disgusting act alone and then you're going to have to have a scientist a 0.83

00:28:21.820 doctor go in and create embryos in a way that violates the rights of children and then most likely 0.98

00:28:27.680 you're going to kill most of those embryos or freeze them indefinitely then you're going to plant them

00:28:31.200 and this older woman who's not the mother then you're going to take the kid away from the woman 1.00

00:28:35.600 and yet what's amazing about this story as people are you know trying to hold in their breakfast or

00:28:40.380 lunch listening to it this is probably the best version of ivf and surrogacy that there is

00:28:47.520 that's not to to defend the mother-in-law having the son's kid or whatever that that's to show you

00:28:55.440 how morally suspect ivf and surrogacy are this is the best this is the best version of it 0.93

00:29:02.580 because you got a husband and a wife making the baby you have the surrogate the the the woman in 0.99

00:29:12.100 whom the baby will be gestated the nearest thing to a mother the baby will have ever known will still

00:29:18.060 be involved in their lives so he won't just be totally ripped away from the person who seems like

00:29:23.140 his mother to him this is the best this is the best version of ivf and surrogacy and it's ghastly

00:29:31.900 and we all know it's wrong and you just have a feeling deep down that it's wrong it is immediately

00:29:38.820 repulsive and you you should listen to that sometimes it's what the bioethicist leon kass calls

00:29:46.580 the wisdom of repugnance when things are immediately repugnant to you you should take that seriously

00:29:53.920 it's not that's not always going to be right but you should take it seriously you should take prejudice

00:29:58.900 seriously we all have to engage by according to prejudgments otherwise you couldn't get out of bed

00:30:04.400 in the morning and so you don't you don't want to be irrational but you got to listen sometime you

00:30:09.240 got to at least take those things seriously and so much of modernity so much of modernity is saying

00:30:15.060 no don't believe that don't believe the wisdom of repugnance don't don't follow your gut no no your

00:30:22.880 guts wrong we know even if you feel terrible for this woman because she had cancer and couldn't conceive

00:30:29.300 on her own and even if you kind of sympathy or even if you try to work it out in your head that

00:30:34.520 it's okay for the mother to have the son's kid with the wife or you know this is not the way things 0.98

00:30:42.080 are supposed to be you know that we all know that those people know that and yet bringing it back to

00:30:53.800 modernity what modernity so much of modernity is denying that there is a way that things are supposed

00:30:59.920 to be so much of modernity going back to the enlightenment and especially to the scientific

00:31:06.880 revolution especially to the march of materialism it's it's people saying no no in classical philosophy

00:31:14.320 in medieval philosophy they all thought that there's a way things are supposed to be but we

00:31:19.860 enlightened moderns know that there's no way things are supposed to be we can just make make the

00:31:25.380 world however we want it to be we decide how things are supposed to be and then you see something

00:31:31.200 like that and your lunch starts to come up you say oh i gotta push that lunch down because that

00:31:35.660 ah doesn't matter there's no way things are supposed to be there's no reason that shouldn't happen there's

00:31:39.940 no push that something in my gut is telling me that's called your conscience there's something that

00:31:46.060 says this isn't the way things are supposed to be but modernity yes is no no there's no way things

00:31:49.420 are supposed to be men and women they're not supposed to go together ah man that's just no

00:31:55.600 that's just an old prejudice now people aren't supposed to honor their mother and father nah man

00:32:01.360 whatever forget about your mother and father no we're not it is not sweet and fitting to die for

00:32:07.000 one's country patriotism you're not supposed to love your country nah man whatever but all but we

00:32:13.440 know we all know and we shouldn't we shouldn't do that it can be tempting to do that to do stuff like

00:32:20.620 that to transgress but we know we shouldn't so let's just how about here's my radical proposal

00:32:26.960 to fix all the problems that have been wrought in modernity what if we just do the things we know we

00:32:32.200 should do that the natural law that's inscribed on every human heart we know that the the law is

00:32:39.620 revealed to the israelites we know there's revelation there but we also know that the

00:32:45.700 gentiles they know too they follow the law without even knowing it because the natural law is inscribed

00:32:51.080 on every human heart so what if we just do the things we know we should do that's my that's my

00:32:55.380 idea is that i don't know and it's not like really fancy it's not it's not the sort of thing that a

00:33:00.220 college professor says but it's true speaking of norms president trump got in big trouble yesterday

00:33:04.440 because of this funny exchange that he had with the president of liberia that has all of trump's 0.83

00:33:10.980 enemies calling him ignorant and racist and blah blah blah and the funniest thing about the exchange

00:33:18.660 i've seen no one else talking about this is it maybe i said was i talking about i wasn't talking

00:33:25.240 about this with anyone yesterday maybe a little bubbling up a little bit people insinuating but

00:33:29.020 there's a real conclusion that you can draw from this that is not great for the liberals

00:33:34.440 the daily wire is where the most trusted and handsome voices in conservative media live and

00:33:39.440 this week those voices got louder isabel brown is joining the fight her brand new show premieres

00:33:44.640 this fall only on daily wire plus this is just the beginning we are celebrating a decade of the daily

00:33:49.300 wire there's so much more on the way new shows new hosts new incredible films documentaries and

00:33:55.140 series this is about building something the libs can't cancel can't burn down can't ignore

00:33:59.540 get the real news the facts that they hide the voices they cannot silence go to dailywireplus.com

00:34:07.080 and join us today my favorite comment yesterday is from ud rex thanks for highlighting this issue

00:34:16.140 do you get it was talking about grok becoming a nazi thanks for highlighting

00:34:22.540 do you get it do you get it president trump according to the media had this terrible gaffe

00:34:31.660 yesterday while talking to the president of liberia well thank you it's such good english

00:34:36.840 such beautiful where did you where did you learn to speak so beautifully where where were you educated

00:34:43.080 where is it in liberia yes well that's very interesting it's beautiful english sure i have

00:34:50.820 people at this table can't speak nearly as well so he's talking to the president of liberia he says

00:34:56.560 well you speak beautiful english where'd you learn to speak that well where'd you study and the guy says

00:35:02.120 oh no liberia liberia that's really interesting well and all the libs started attacking trump and

00:35:08.100 mocking him because you know that trump didn't even know that the official language of liberia 0.95

00:35:15.800 in africa is english he didn't even know that that ignorant man that that racist that 0.97

00:35:22.740 did you know that the official language of liberia is english maybe some of you did because you maybe

00:35:28.020 you know a little bit about the history of liberia most people do not know that but the fact that that's

00:35:33.740 true actually i think really undercuts many of the liberal arguments and i think actually defends

00:35:40.240 president trump's political vision because liberia was established in 1847 liberia was established as a

00:35:48.360 place to send freed blacks from america there's this debate not not just among the terrible evil racist

00:35:55.320 whites but even among free free black people which is okay what are we going to do we were brought 0.95

00:35:58.580 here as slaves we're not really part of the political order and now some of us are being freed so what do we

00:36:03.080 do do we just live as free men in america or are we going to be allowed to do that is that possible

00:36:07.900 is that desirable no maybe we can go back to africa okay we're going to go back to africa and there's

00:36:12.200 the american colonial society their colonization society rather is going to found this country

00:36:17.760 liberia and that means that liberia's official language is english it means that liberia has a

00:36:26.420 declaration of independence that is quite similar to the american declaration of independence we hold these

00:36:31.500 truths to be self-evident and liberia has a constitution that is basically a copy of the american

00:36:39.340 constitution the reason that that history is all very interesting and the libs are all kind of mocking

00:36:45.900 trump for not knowing every ounce of that history the reason that's really interesting is it totally

00:36:51.200 undercuts the arguments liberals make and it defends the arguments trump and the maga movement have

00:36:55.800 made about what a country is liberia has the same language as america liberia has a very similar

00:37:02.620 declaration of independence and it has basically the same constitution and yet liberia is not america

00:37:09.280 because a country is more than an idea for my whole life practically i was told america's an idea it's just

00:37:19.000 an idea america's an idea it's not a place it's a placeholder for an idea it's an idea countries aren't

00:37:26.780 ideas countries are more than ideas and you're gonna have some people who don't like black people 0.85

00:37:31.800 they're gonna say yeah well the reason liberia is not as good as america is it's full of black people 1.00

00:37:35.440 that's not it is countries are more than race too countries are more than ideas they're more than

00:37:41.500 language they're more than race they're more than any of these single factors countries are societies

00:37:49.880 with history with shared bonds of kinship with traditions with a development that makes them what

00:38:00.740 they are that is not reducible to one line on the back of a napkin that is not reducible to a log line

00:38:09.140 like you're pitching a tv show in hollywood countries are more than that countries are

00:38:14.280 geography countries are shared history and suffering countries are the different ethnic and racial groups

00:38:22.100 that make it up countries are the languages people speak countries are the idioms that people use within

00:38:26.820 those languages countries are the ideas that have developed out of those peoples countries are all the

00:38:32.500 countries are the music that they listen to countries are the tv shows they watch countries are all of that

00:38:38.240 and you can't reduce that into an ideology and that's what trump is saying so when when trump says

00:38:43.400 make america great again he irritated the leftists who hate america per se and he irritated the

00:38:49.940 ideologues on the right who want to reduce america to just some abstract idea you're violating the idea

00:38:57.100 of america no no he wants to defend america that's what i'm about that's what i'm about too that's one of

00:39:02.520 the reasons i love trump so much i like the trump movement is because the thing that i want to

00:39:07.800 defend in america is not freedom oh yes i'm an american patriot because i love freedom no i mean

00:39:13.660 i like freedom properly understood but i don't america's more than freedom equality no yeah i mean

00:39:20.240 whatever what do you mean by equality are val even values this drives me nuts when conservatives talk

00:39:25.640 about values all the time what are values values i like virtue virtue is important that's not even the

00:39:31.580 whole story but that's important but values it's this abstract divorce no you know what i want to

00:39:36.700 defend you know why i'm an american patriot because i love america and i want to preserve america and the

00:39:41.580 american way of life and the american people that's what i want to preserve and if there are some

00:39:47.780 abstractions that can be derived from that fine but let's not put the cart before the horse

00:39:53.560 libs are gonna play this clip at their own peril i think they're gonna be hoisted with their own petard 1.00

00:39:59.660 speaking of supposed trump gaffes i've got the anatomy of a fake news story for you so this this

00:40:05.900 clip started going around yesterday followed by breathless headlines from the liberal media and

00:40:11.380 here's this clip in which president trump supposedly threatened this wild maniac who's gonna send us to

00:40:18.220 world war three remember when the people on the left and some of the the neurotic people on the right

00:40:24.340 were saying two weeks ago we're on the brink of world war three trump's gonna send us to world war

00:40:27.420 three a 20 year forever war in them and then none of that happened well here's the next shot at that

00:40:31.720 trump is gonna bomb moscow 0.86

00:40:34.420 the putin i said if you go in the ukraine they'll bomb this out of moscow i'm telling you i haven't 0.54

00:40:42.680 chosen the public once the public the public there you go so you guys like i don't believe you

00:40:49.960 i said if you said no way and i said way and then you guys like i don't believe you but the truth is

00:40:57.240 you believe me 10 percent and i saw you guys he needed that and said well i went president chief

00:41:03.140 china but i said the same thing to them i said you know if you go into taiwan i'm gonna bomb the 0.96

00:41:07.380 that they're basically you thought i was crazy so hey yay you should be able to bomb me i said i have no

00:41:14.540 trust i got a problem we're gonna bomb me and he's going to be there except 10 percent and 10 percent is all you need

00:41:20.740 in fact five percent would have been okay and we would have had a problem we would have never had

00:41:26.080 a problem so it's shocking here's the headline where is it cnn trump said he threatened to bomb

00:41:37.380 moscow if putin attacked ukraine 2024 fundraiser tape show this this came out yesterday or tuesday

00:41:44.880 july 8th shocking breathless headline and i remember thinking wait i've heard this story for years

00:41:51.540 and i did here's one 2024 trump suggested he would have bombed moscow for invading ukraine

00:41:58.280 washington post reports then i got this one from 2022 trump told golfer john daly that he threatened

00:42:05.880 putin with hitting moscow i've seen a bunch of headlines like how is this news

00:42:10.240 what what is newsy about this there's nothing new about it you heard you can hear a little bit

00:42:15.620 of one of the audio clips kind of in but what is newsy about that nothing there's nothing new about

00:42:23.080 that it is simply a way to attack trump as trump confounded his critics on the left and some of

00:42:30.100 them on the right by avoiding world war three with the iran bombing say or in the war in ukraine 0.92

00:42:35.200 this is a way to attack him and say well look this crazy man he's gonna bomb moscow he's gonna bomb

00:42:39.700 beijing i've heard about this for years why is that i need can cnn explain to me why they're 0.93

00:42:46.980 reporting that can you give me any journalistic reason to report that story that has been reported

00:42:52.480 many times over the last three years the only reason to do it is to attack trump and this to me

00:42:59.500 is is good news for the administration because it shows things are working out well despite the

00:43:04.380 constant incessant screams and crying of the critics on the left and a handful of malcontents

00:43:10.120 on the right trump's doing some pretty good stuff if they had the ability to really hit him with a

00:43:17.440 cudgel these are the people who tried to put him in jail four times and kill him if they had the ability

00:43:21.400 to really hit him they would and they can't they got to dig up three-year-old news stories that make

00:43:25.940 trump look good give me a break now before we get to theology thursday in the membrum segmentum

00:43:31.160 there's one story it's really i'm just gonna i'm just gonna alert you to this apparently

00:43:38.000 david corin sweat whoever that is he's some hollywood person who's affiliated with the new

00:43:44.960 superman movie uh he is swapping out superman's catchphrase truth justice in the american way

00:43:50.500 for something else what is it truth justice and good things is it true someone's reporting it's

00:43:57.120 truth justice in the human way what what happened and so that scene i think is the the the crux of

00:44:06.760 that character that we see and the reality is that when he doesn't have to be superman when he doesn't

00:44:13.200 have to be this calm reassuring presence to the public when he doesn't have to symbolize safety and

00:44:19.400 security and truth and justice and and and all those good things and and all those good things
