00:00:00.000 Major League Baseball is attacking three players for writing Bible verses on their caps during
00:00:04.680 Pride Month. A major Hollywood actor reveals why liberals hate America. And the Warhawks fume
00:00:11.300 over President Trump's Iran deal when they have no one to blame but themselves.

00:00:47.520 your data do not miss an episode great news gavin newsom is being investigated by the federal
00:00:52.680 government newsom is blaming trump he says trump is targeting his political opponent there's just
00:00:59.000 one problem with gavin newsom's accusation which we'll get to in a moment first though
00:01:03.180 this mlb thing man it's driving me crazy mlb is i think the most normal conservative patriotic
00:01:12.500 sports league nfl totally gone nba gone soccer need i say more but the baseball was generally
00:01:21.220 solid they had their little dalliances during during blm they kind of got a little bit a little
00:01:27.600 touch into BLM, not nearly as much as the NFL, but enough to be annoying, enough that I canceled
00:01:33.160 my MLB subscription for a few years. Then occasionally, Pride Month comes up, they do a 0.71
00:01:38.220 little gay stuff. Again, not as much as some of the other leagues, not as much as soccer, which 0.87
00:01:44.380 is gay, but they do a little bit, a little rainbow here or there. Anyway, the baseball players
00:01:50.840 themselves are pretty conservative, generally speaking. And so when the MLB suits in the
00:01:58.100 executive suites decided to force some gay stuff on them for June, they decide, some of them 0.76
00:02:03.360 decided they were going to, they'll wear the hat. There's a little rainbow hat. It's annoying, 0.94
00:02:07.460 but they'll wear the hat. They're team players, but they're just going to add a little Bible verse
00:02:12.320 to it to give context to the rainbow. This from Giants pitcher Landon Roop, they make him wear
00:02:19.980 the gay hat with the rainbow. And so what does he do? He writes just a little citation of the
00:02:26.600 verse from the book of Genesis where God establishes the rainbow as an enduring covenant
00:02:32.220 with mankind. Never again will I destroy the world in a flood. That's it. It doesn't even
00:02:36.840 write out the whole verse. It just says Genesis chapter and verse. And this was too much for the
00:02:42.340 MLB executives. MLB fans, basically conservative, not gay. And if they are gay, they're like, 0.99
00:02:49.980 quiet about it. They're conservative. They're conservative people. The MLB players, pretty 0.97
00:02:57.620 straightforward, normal people. But the execs, man, it's just like all of corporate America,
00:03:02.500 they didn't get the message. And so not only is the flag kind of gay, it even has the trans part 0.98
00:03:07.000 on it. So it's like the pride progress flag. And the MLB executives are now trying to punish 0.95
00:03:12.520 this Giants pitcher, along with a couple other members of the Giants. According to the New York
00:03:17.100 Times, an MLB official has warned those players against violating the rules and writing on their
00:03:23.160 cap. What they're pretending is it's not about the Bible verse. They're pretending it's just
00:03:28.320 about writing anything on their cap. Maybe it's distracting. You know what I think is distracting
00:03:33.080 on a baseball cap? A bunch of rainbow, pastel, blue and pink, gay, trans, LGBT colors. I think 0.97
00:03:41.460 that's probably more distracting for a batter than a little Bible verse written down. They say,
00:03:46.120 no, no, no, this is against the rules. The writing on the cap violates our rules and consistent with
00:03:52.160 normal practice, we have warned the players about future violations, says Pat Courtney,
00:03:56.760 MLB's chief communications officer in a statement. The entire executive leadership of MLB should be
00:04:01.840 shamed for this. This is preposterous. It's anti-American. It might well be unconstitutional,
00:04:08.180 but it's definitely super duper lame. So let's hear from the player. Let's hear from Landon Roop.
00:04:15.320 Why did he put the passage on his hat in a postgame presser? He said, it's just about God's
00:04:20.860 covenant and a promise that he makes to us that, you know, his faithfulness and his mercy. That's
00:04:25.240 just kind of something I believe in. It's just, it's just kind of something. I just kind of
00:04:29.400 believe in God. I just kind of, it's, is it okay if I kind of believe in the Bible? Is that all
00:04:32.900 right? And I stand firm in that. And I'm thankful we live in a country where, you know, we have the
00:04:36.940 freedom to believe what you want and express what we want. Do we have that freedom? I thought we
00:04:40.920 did. MLB executives say you can't, you can't be a Christian and play baseball. Kind of what the
00:04:45.120 verse says, you know, what's it mean? The rainbow is a symbol of God's covenant to us and us as
00:04:49.560 believers to stand firm in that. There's no hate at all. It's just what I stand for and what I
00:04:53.740 stand in. I believe in God and that's me. The MLB execs, I mean, forget call your congressman.
00:04:58.420 Maybe you should call your congressman too, but write to the MLB. Call the MLB executives. Let
00:05:03.160 them know this is not acceptable. This is anti-Christian discrimination. It's super lame
00:05:07.320 and it makes us seem like we're soccer. It's just awful. It's nauseating that the MLB execs
00:05:12.980 would try to pervert America's favorite pastime. They go on. This is Roop. First of all, as a
00:05:19.220 believer, I would push people to read the Bible. I think God has blessed me in so many ways. And I
00:05:23.480 don't think I would be here right now if it wasn't for him. So like I said, there's no hate in it at
00:05:27.200 all. They're saying what the MLB is effectively accusing him of is of encouraging hatred,
00:05:33.960 of promoting hatred by citing the Bible. He says, there's no hate in it at all. Like I said,
00:05:41.360 We live in a country where you're welcome to believe what you want. There's a freedom of
00:05:44.440 speech and stuff like that. So that's really all I have to say about that. I'm just thankful that
00:05:48.600 God has put me in this situation and I can go out there and share his kingdom. So great on Landon
00:05:52.840 Root, great on the other giants here, and shame on the MLB and shame on those executives. There is
00:05:58.800 a political conclusion that we draw, though, beyond just my personal affinity for Major League
00:06:03.960 Baseball and my fury at the lame executives who are trying to ostracize Christians from Major
00:06:10.620 League Baseball. And the political takeaway is, for all this talk of inclusion, that's what Pride
00:06:16.820 Month is about. It's about inclusion, right? Inclusion always involves exclusion. There is
00:06:23.840 no inclusion without exclusion. There's no getting around the law of non-contradiction.
00:06:31.980 If you are including a celebration of LGBT, you are necessarily excluding people who oppose that, which in this case would be Christians and Jews and Muslims and anybody who has a more conservative and normal and traditional view of human sexuality.
00:06:55.940 inclusion necessarily involves exclusion what's the other takeaway here the other takeaway here
00:07:04.500 is that pride the pride month celebrations pride is necessarily anti-christian every pride parade
00:07:13.600 every pride display every pride flag that goes up in the public square is anti-christian and
00:07:19.480 anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim and anti-tradition. But you can't have both. You cannot say,
00:07:28.980 I equally hold to the pride flag and the cross. I equally hold to the pride flag and the Star of
00:07:36.080 David. I equally hold to the pride flag and the Crescent. It's not just about Christians here.
00:07:40.480 It's about anyone who holds to a even relatively traditionally religious view of human sexuality.
00:07:47.280 Those people are excluded.
00:07:48.740 MLB is saying, you can be a Christian in your own head, I guess, but you better not express it.
00:07:53.460 You better not live it out. 0.97
00:07:54.500 You better keep your mouth shut, Dimi. 0.99
00:07:56.580 You're a Dimi. 1.00
00:07:57.280 It's dimitude for the Christians. 1.00
00:07:59.860 First class status for the sexual revolutionaries and the liberals, dimitude for anyone who's a traditional religious person. 0.87
00:08:07.380 What's the third political takeaway from this?
00:08:09.640 The third political takeaway is that liberalism itself was always anti-Christian.
00:08:14.560 I don't just mean leftism.
00:08:15.720 I don't just mean modern progressivism. I mean liberalism, hundreds of year old political
00:08:20.620 ideology. Liberalism was always anti-Christian. How liberalism began 300 years ago, whenever it
00:08:28.020 was, is that, I guess a little more than that now, it began as not explicitly anti-religious,
00:08:34.200 but anti-clerical. You think of Diderot inspiring the French Revolution when he says,
00:08:40.040 man will only be free when the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest.
00:08:43.820 It's very anti-clerical.
00:08:45.100 They say, we're not anti-religious.
00:08:46.100 We're not anti-God.
00:08:46.660 We're just anti-clerical. 0.99
00:08:47.880 And it always starts out that way. 0.83
00:08:49.380 You hear this from all the most woo-woo lib lunatics in our modern culture.
00:08:53.960 They say, I'm spiritual, but not religious. 0.87
00:08:56.660 They say, I just don't like organized religion.
00:08:58.720 So you like disorganized religion?
00:09:00.180 You like incoherent religion?
00:09:01.820 That's what you like.
00:09:02.560 You like a religion about you.
00:09:04.560 You like a religion about the self.
00:09:06.020 You like the religion of pride, which is the queen of all vice.
00:09:09.600 But so it starts out, they say, we just don't like priests.
00:09:11.800 We just don't like clergy.
00:09:13.500 We just don't like dogmas then.
00:09:15.460 We just don't like doctrines.
00:09:16.760 And what it ends up with is we don't like God.
00:09:19.000 We don't like religion at all.
00:09:20.080 And if you are a Christian, you're excluded from the public square. 0.97
00:09:22.700 The end goal of liberalism was always Christian because it makes false assumptions about human 0.95
00:09:27.300 nature and it puts man at the center of society, not God.
00:09:31.560 And when man worships God, man becomes the fullest he can be.
00:09:34.820 He lives up to human potential.
00:09:36.120 When man worships the self, he's like an Ouroboros snake eating his own tail.
00:09:40.260 And you end up destroying even Major League Baseball.
00:09:42.940 Okay, enough. I can't even think about it anymore. I expect better of baseball. I don't expect better
00:09:49.660 of liberalism. Speaking of liberalism, Robert De Niro, I referred to this yesterday, but I really
00:09:54.540 want to get into it because it tells you something not just about this sort of washed up liberal
00:09:59.020 annoying actor, but it tells you a lot about the nature of political liberalism. Robert De Niro
00:10:03.680 says he can't love his country. He doesn't love America anymore because of Trump. We'll get to
00:10:07.180 that in a second. First, I want to tell you about balance of nature. Go to balanceofnature.com,
00:10:11.140 use promo code Knowles. People tend to have one of two approaches to summer. Either they become
00:10:15.920 incredibly disciplined and decide that this is the summer they're finally going to establish all of
00:10:20.840 their healthy habits, or they decide summer is a free-for-all and they'll worry about everything
00:10:24.880 in September. Most of us probably live somewhere in the middle. You want to enjoy the family
00:10:28.720 vacation. You want to go out with friends. You want to enjoy a barbecue or a long weekend without
00:10:32.240 turning every meal into a math problem. At the same time, you don't want to completely abandon
00:10:36.140 and the habits and routines that help you feel your best.
00:10:39.140 That is one reason that I love Balance of Nature.
00:10:42.980 Balance of Nature's whole health system 0.59

00:10:54.220 During the summer especially,
00:10:55.540 I've also enjoyed their freeze-dried snacks.
00:10:59.140 Very easy to pack.

00:11:16.400 Robert De Niro at the Rise Up Sing Out
00:11:18.600 counter-programming of Trump's
00:11:20.580 awesomest show ever.
00:11:22.620 His display with the flyover
00:11:25.200 and the fighting and the gladiators
00:11:27.580 and the libs did this thing called Rise Up Sing Out
00:11:29.840 where they had washed up Bette Midler
00:11:31.800 croaking out some hippie tune from Pete Seeger
00:11:34.040 or something and robert de niro shows up there too one of one of the younger members on the stage
00:11:38.300 he shows up and he explains not only is he angry at trump not only does he hate the ufc or whatever
00:11:43.220 he no longer loves america later the latest uh later the letter stated regardless of our
00:11:53.580 political affiliation or whether we engage in politics or not we all love our country
00:12:00.100 Still with me?
00:12:02.060 Not so fast.
00:12:05.040 The phrase, we all love our country, stuck in my throat.
00:12:09.680 Because our country isn't so lovable right now.
00:12:13.900 I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser. 0.99
00:12:19.720 I can't love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars 1.00
00:12:29.920 killing thousands of innocents 1.00
00:12:36.380 and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more
00:12:40.000 I can't love a country that takes health care away from millions of people
00:12:45.780 and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class.
00:12:53.580 I can't love the country that's led by Donald Trump.
00:12:58.740 I can't love a country that is led by Donald Trump,
00:13:01.440 which means I can't love a country that elects Donald Trump,
00:13:03.520 which means I can't love a country where most people disagree with me and are conservatives.
00:13:07.920 The one line, I can't let it go, when he refers to the,
00:13:10.860 it's led by the Trump-Epstein class, the Epstein class.
00:13:13.860 i can't i can't love a country led by the epstein class robert de niro famously friends with bill
00:13:21.320 clinton how many just google de niro clinton there will be no end to the photos of them
00:13:27.340 over decades of them together here we got de niro with the beard here's de niro no beard this was
00:13:33.380 way back in i think maybe the 90s he's the 2000 i think clinton might have been president at that
00:13:37.960 time. De Niro and Clinton wearing tuxedos at the White House, and they've been friends forever.
00:13:47.340 Bill Clinton was much closer with Jeffrey Epstein than Donald Trump ever was.
00:13:52.680 Jeffrey Epstein was a member of Mar-a-Lago. He and Trump were friends. There's no getting around
00:13:56.100 that. There's no denying that. But Epstein was flying around on Epstein's jet. Sorry,
00:14:01.300 Clinton was flying around on Epstein's jet. Clinton had Epstein visiting him multiple times
00:14:07.120 at the White House. He was leading the country. He said, I can't love a country that's led by
00:14:13.360 a member of the Epstein class. The most famous member of the Epstein class who was leading the 0.93
00:14:17.340 country during his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, De Niro has no problem hanging around
00:14:22.100 with. The Epstein class, give me a break. De Niro can't love a country that is led by a conservative
00:14:30.020 or a Republican. De Niro can't love a country that has conservatives in it to elect a Republican
00:14:35.880 or a conservative. The libs are just not patriotic. I'm not saying that no one who 0.91
00:14:42.880 calls himself a little bit liberal can be a patriot. I'm not saying that no one who identifies
00:14:48.480 as a Democrat can be a little patriotic. I'm just saying at a much deeper level than the babbling
00:14:54.020 nonsense of Robert De Niro, in as much as you are a liberal, you are not patriotic.
00:15:00.500 It's not just that there's this kind of funny coincidence where people who are liberals just
00:15:05.120 happen to not like their country that much. It is intrinsic to liberalism itself, because
00:15:10.140 liberalism ultimately is about liberation. It's about throwing off constraints and shackles and
00:15:15.880 unchosen bonds and relationships. And one of the basic unchosen bonds and relationships is your
00:15:22.580 relationship to your country, which is an extension of the essential unchosen relationship,
00:15:27.780 which is your relationship to your family. You're born into a family. You don't choose your family.
00:15:31.560 and patriotism coming from patria is an extension of filial piety.
00:15:36.540 So we're supposed to love our country.
00:15:38.420 That's a virtue, just like you're supposed to honor your father and mother.
00:15:40.680 That's a virtue.
00:15:41.240 It's not something you choose consciously.
00:15:42.760 It's not a matter of your private autonomy.
00:15:44.500 It's just something you do.
00:15:46.060 It's what you're expected to do, and it's a good thing.
00:15:48.440 But in as much as you are a liberal,
00:15:50.300 you are endeavoring to liberate yourself from all of those shackles of morality,
00:15:55.280 of family, of country, of obligation, of biology sometimes.
00:16:00.760 And so in as much as you are liberal, you're not a patriot.
00:16:03.560 That's true.
00:16:04.040 You consider yourself a citizen of the world.
00:16:06.220 You consider yourself a radical individual.
00:16:08.020 You consider yourself a person totally free from all constraint.
00:16:11.420 So this is not surprising at all.
00:16:13.820 This is, I don't love my country, but that's what it comes down to.
00:16:17.620 Yeah, we know.
00:16:18.620 We know, Robert, we know you don't love your country.
00:16:21.280 Because you've always been kind of a lib, and you've become just insufferably extremely liberal.
00:16:26.300 And as that happens, you love your country less and less and less.
00:16:30.000 Of course.
00:16:31.180 And at least give De Niro credit.
00:16:32.820 At least he's honest about it.
00:16:34.280 He's not just saying, I hate Trump.
00:16:36.260 To say, I really hate Trump and I can't love a country where Trump is the president
00:16:39.740 is implicitly to say, I hate my countrymen and therefore I hate my country
00:16:43.560 because your countrymen are the ones who elected Trump.
00:16:45.780 But usually the libs will stop short of that.
00:16:47.640 I love the American people.
00:16:48.760 I just hate the guy they elected.
00:16:50.160 But he's saying, no, I hate my country.
00:16:51.600 I hate my country because they have different political views than I do.
00:16:57.020 And so I'm going to come to the least charitable, worst conclusions about all of their motivations. 0.98
00:17:01.940 And I hate them.
00:17:02.880 And they want to rob people of health care.
00:17:04.480 What are you talking about?
00:17:05.800 And they engage in wars.
00:17:07.560 Oh, gee, like every country ever. 0.98
00:17:09.640 And they're a part of the Epstein class. 0.85
00:17:11.040 The Epstein class, all your buddies are the leaders of the Epstein class.
00:17:14.360 They're literally the best friends of Epstein.
00:17:17.440 And they are the politicians who are leading the country who are the best friends of Epstein.
00:17:22.280 It's not about any of that.
00:17:23.420 You hate your country because you're a lib.
00:17:25.920 And when you were less of a lib, you hated your country less.
00:17:28.900 No good, no good.
00:17:29.840 Speaking of patriotism, we've got this peace deal that has been signed, a memorandum of understanding.
00:17:38.700 I think the vice president is supposed to fly to Switzerland on Thursday or Friday to formalize all of this.
00:17:45.760 And the war hawks are furious about it, man.
00:17:47.940 And all these, it's kind of funny too, because a lot of the people that were really pushing
00:17:51.300 more war in Iran were people who hated Trump in the beginning.
00:17:55.460 Then they kind of came around to Trump sometimes when Trump was doing what they liked.
00:17:58.900 And now they hate Trump again.
00:18:01.320 We've come full circle.
00:18:02.480 We're just back in 2016.
00:18:04.500 It's Groundhog Day.
00:18:06.900 But you'll notice one of the arguments, very few people are trying to argue that the peace
00:18:12.960 deal is bad for, the peace deal today, given that the war already started, given that the
00:18:17.540 Strait of Hormuz was closed, given that the Iranian regime didn't fall, that the peace deal
00:18:20.960 today was against America's interests. Very few people are seriously arguing that.
00:18:26.100 The state of Israel, yet Israeli officials are co-belligerents in this war. Even they were 0.82
00:18:29.820 saying, yeah, this is kind of in America's interest. It's not as much in our interest,
00:18:32.440 but it's in America's interest. We get it. So what the people are trying to argue is,
00:18:36.240 well, but this is violating some principle. What's the principle? We need to liberate Iran.
00:18:41.400 It's a betrayal of the Persian Iranian people, and they're longing for freedom.
00:18:45.360 and this is terrible because the Mullahs, 0.83
00:18:47.640 the Iranian Islamic regime is awful. 0.98
00:18:49.340 Yeah, the Iranian Islamic regime is awful, 1.00
00:18:51.300 but none of these people have made the argument
00:18:53.560 as to how prolonging or escalating the war,
00:18:57.700 invading Tehran, putting boots on the ground,
00:19:01.180 occupying Iran for five, 10 years,
00:19:02.720 how that was actually gonna make anything better.
00:19:04.680 Very few people are arguing that.
00:19:05.680 And one leader of the Iranian resistance
00:19:08.300 is actually making the opposite case.
00:19:11.920 This is a leader going viral now
00:19:13.240 from the Iranian, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, who is saying, actually,
00:19:17.260 the peace deal is good for the Iranian resistance and is bad for the Islamic regime. What's the
00:19:21.680 argument? According to Mariam Rajavi, Iranian resistance, which for nearly five decades has
00:19:27.000 sought freedom and peace, welcomes any understanding to end the war and the suffering of the Iranian
00:19:30.280 people. In Iran, no one except the remnants of the Malas and the Shah has wanted or wants war.
00:19:35.400 The effort to produce nuclear weapons, warmongering, and meddling in the countries of the region 0.94
00:19:38.780 are part of the survival strategy of the religious fascism ruling Iran, 0.86
00:19:42.380 and it will not abandon them as long as it can. 0.54
00:19:45.060 War is this regime's shield against popular uprisings,
00:19:49.640 while peace and a ceasefire are, as Khomeini put it, like poison for it. 0.79
00:19:54.840 The overthrow of the regime is the responsibility of the Iranian people
00:19:57.680 and their organized resistance.
00:19:59.360 Mrs. Rajavi also added,
00:20:00.980 I will reiterate once again that any international agreement to end the war
00:20:04.200 must include an end to the execution of political prisoners and killing of protesters.
00:20:07.400 saying, here's the key line, war is this regime's shield against popular uprisings.
00:20:13.500 I'm no Iran expert. I can't, in a granular detail, evaluate the reality of those claims.
00:20:19.400 I'll point out, though, that is true for radical regimes. Radical regimes are always trying to
00:20:24.560 keep the sense of the war, of the revolution going. Think of Fidel Castro, 0.78
00:20:28.580 rules Cuba for 60 years. Fidel Castro would always wear the military fatigues.
00:20:33.340 What was the motto? The motto was Viva Siempre la Revolución. The revolution's always going on.
00:20:38.280 All of these radical revolutionary military leaders, they're always wearing their military
00:20:42.840 fatigues because they need to appear as though they're always at war because it allows them to,
00:20:49.140 one, suppress civil rights in countries, but two, it encourages a population that otherwise would
00:20:54.740 be discontented to rally around the flag. This is what happened in Iran. This is what happened
00:21:00.020 in Iran during the Iran-Iraq war in the early 90s, or late 80s, whenever it was, the Iran-Iraq
00:21:05.540 war increased support for the Islamic regime in Iran. The Islamic regime, which wasn't terribly
00:21:11.260 popular, it increased support. There is evidence, obviously we don't have a lot of good social 0.84
00:21:15.380 science on this, but there is evidence that since the start of the most recent war in Iran,
00:21:19.460 support for the regime has increased. Pro-regime protests have increased. Anti-regime protests
00:21:26.120 have decreased. The idea that Trump is betraying the Iranian people, this is totally ridiculous. 0.97
00:21:31.800 Let's not forget, when Trump started the war, the causus belli, the argument for the war was
00:21:36.320 Iran is close to getting a nuclear weapon, or Iran is close to the point at which its ballistic
00:21:40.860 missiles program will be such that they will have a breakaway capacity, such that if they want a
00:21:45.680 nuclear weapon, they can get it quickly, however you want to describe it. Trump's argument was
00:21:49.500 Iran cannot get a nuke, so we're going in to stop Iran from getting a nuke. But he also left open
00:21:55.100 the possibility. He said, hey, by the way, Iranians, we've been hearing for decades about
00:21:58.440 how you want to overthrow the mullahs and take back your country. So now's your chance. This is
00:22:02.220 Trump almost verbatim. Finally, to the great proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of
00:22:09.880 your freedom is at hand. Stay sheltered. Don't leave your home. It's very dangerous outside. 0.99
00:22:16.300 Bombs will be dropping everywhere. When we are finished, take over your government. It will be
00:22:21.660 yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations. For many years,
00:22:29.620 you have asked for America's help, but you never got it. No president was willing to do what I am
00:22:35.820 willing to do tonight. Now you have a president who is giving you what you want. So let's see
00:22:42.160 how you respond. Here's your chance, Iranians. We've been told you really want to overthrow 1.00
00:22:48.240 your regime. So here's your chance. We're providing the air cover. We're killing all
00:22:51.520 the top leaders. Here's your chance to overthrow the regime. And guess what? They didn't do it. 1.00
00:22:56.180 They didn't do it. You could say, well, they didn't do it because the Islamic regime had 0.99
00:23:00.020 just slaughtered 10,000 of them. Maybe. You say they didn't do it because they were waiting for 0.87
00:23:04.200 just one more military action of the US. Yeah, maybe, maybe. But they didn't do it.
00:23:09.140 It didn't happen. There was no groundswell of support to overthrow the Islamic regime. 0.68
00:23:13.540 There was no evidence that whatever regime would have replaced the Mullahs would have been better.
00:23:16.860 there was no, it didn't happen. Trump gave them the chance. It didn't happen.
00:23:23.520 Remember when we overthrew the Taliban in Afghanistan and we said, Afghanistan is going
00:23:27.920 to go back to the seventies. You know, it's going to be put back on a path to liberalization.
00:23:31.380 And you're going to have a lot of like nice looking women take off the burqas and start 1.00
00:23:35.320 smoking long cigarettes. And it didn't happen. You know what happened at the end of 20 years 0.99
00:23:38.680 and a lot of American blood and treasure? The Taliban came right back. Remember Iraq, 0.93
00:23:43.800 Iraq, which is a very civilized country, relatively.
00:23:46.120 Iraq is not Afghanistan.
00:23:47.640 Remember, we go in, we topple the largely secular regime in Saddam Hussein.
00:23:52.220 And then what happened?
00:23:53.540 Did federal Iraq flourish as a beacon of Madisonian democracy? 0.57
00:23:57.360 No.
00:23:58.020 Is there any evidence that Iraq is particularly better off today than it was 20 years ago?
00:24:02.260 No.
00:24:02.940 It just didn't really happen.
00:24:04.840 And in Iran, the regime had a much tighter grip on the people
00:24:08.280 than Saddam did or the Taliban.
00:24:13.660 It just didn't happen. 0.96
00:24:14.440 This was always going to be the end result.
00:24:17.200 And so, you know, in this case, I actually do hate to say I told you so, because before 0.56
00:24:20.400 the war, I argued against the cases for war.
00:24:23.740 At the time the bombs were dropping, I was on air in this chair and everybody was celebrating 0.99
00:24:28.600 and everyone's talking about a new day and the Shah is going to come back and it's going
00:24:31.840 to be liberal, liberalization for Iran.
00:24:34.960 And I said, I don't know, I don't really buy it. 0.74
00:24:36.640 Don't forget the Islamic regime has lasted twice as long as the CIA regime from 1953 0.93
00:24:40.980 when we overthrew Mosaddegh. I said, I don't really buy it. I don't really buy the propaganda. 0.94
00:24:47.360 I would be surprised if the regime would fall. We gave it a shot. It didn't work. So then you
00:24:52.020 were always going to end up in the situation where you're going to get a peace deal that
00:24:55.360 satisfies basically nobody, or you're going to get a protracted war where you cannot even
00:25:00.560 possibly calculate all of the things that could go wrong. No one really has a clear view of the
00:25:05.100 good that could be achieved. And there's no reason to believe that there's a reasonable
00:25:09.020 probability of success, that you could overthrow the regime and reinstate the Shah, and there would
00:25:13.860 be no civil war, and it would be great for the region. And there's no real sense that there
00:25:17.800 would be proportionality, that the goods to be achieved were proportional to the losses incurred.
00:25:23.080 So from the minute the bombs were dropping, you were in this situation.
00:25:26.560 And now what President Trump can say is, look, I seriously set back Iran's nuclear program.
00:25:31.900 They're probably still going to want nukes, of course, but we've set it back five or 10 years.
00:25:35.920 We took out their top leadership such that now we have a more direct relationship with the people
00:25:39.960 that we're working with, and maybe they're a little less hardline. And yeah, we devastated
00:25:44.240 some of their country, and maybe we're going to get the nuclear dust. At the very least, 0.94
00:25:47.200 we buried it underground. And now we're kind of back to the status quo. Best you were going to
00:25:53.320 get built in from the beginning. So for the Warhawks, we were saying we needed to go further.
00:25:58.300 We needed more. We're giving up. We're surrendering. This is a terrible deal.
00:26:01.500 I guess my question to you is, what's the alternative? What are you actually proposing
00:26:06.300 as the alternative? Because you'll notice none of them are ever offering this. We just need to go
00:26:09.900 further. We need to stand firm. We can't sign this deal. We need to know what's in this deal.
00:26:14.740 Okay, what's your alternative? What are you proposing? What they're really proposing,
00:26:18.260 and they won't tell you, is boots on the ground and a decade-long occupation and managing a civil
00:26:22.800 war and overseeing elections. And what they were proposing is Iraq 2.0, 3.0, I guess,
00:26:28.560 because Iraq 1.0 was in the early 90s. That's what they're proposing. Even if that were a good
00:26:33.900 idea, and I'm not saying it is, even if that were a good idea, there is zero political appetite for
00:26:38.340 that in the United States on either side of the aisle. There is zero reason to believe that would
00:26:43.100 work. But even if it would work, politically speaking, it wouldn't work. So what are you
00:26:49.100 proposing? All these people who have turned on Trump again, and they're attacking Trump again
00:26:52.980 over this deal. What did you think was going to happen? Your predictions were wrong. The regime
00:26:59.180 was not overthrown. What did you think was going to happen? Unbelievable. Sometimes people got to
00:27:06.160 sometimes listen to the guys who hate to say I told you so all the time. Okay. Speaking of
00:27:11.420 corrupt regimes, we turn from Tehran to California. Gavin Newsom is under investigation. We will get
00:27:18.360 to why that is. He's blaming Trump. There's just one problem with his claim. First, I want to tell
00:27:22.240 about pre-born. Go to preborn.com slash Knowles. Every father remembers a moment when fear gave
00:27:28.640 way to purpose. For John, that moment came after an unexpected pregnancy. He said, me, a dad? That
00:27:33.840 didn't even feel possible. But after connecting with pre-born and receiving a free ultrasound,
00:27:37.640 everything changed. We could do this, he said. I could do this. For a lot of people, I'm now on my
00:27:43.160 fourth go-around as a father, and you're very excited. You've been trying for it. For some
00:27:47.680 people, it happens unexpectedly. And when people are getting a lot of pressure in all sorts of
00:27:52.320 directions, when a mother sees her baby on ultrasound, here's that heartbeat, sees that baby,
00:27:57.300 it doubles the baby's chance at life. This is one of the best investments you can make
00:28:01.580 to help save a life. Preborn also, great organization, fundraisers for its admin
00:28:06.100 costs separately. So every dollar you give is going towards saving babies. I personally support
00:28:10.740 this organization. I encourage you to give what you can. This Father's Day, help another father
00:28:14.340 experience, the same hope. For 28 bucks, sponsor an ultrasound through Preborn. Help expectant
00:28:20.020 parents choose life. To donate, dial pound 250, say keyword baby. That is pound 250, keyword baby,

00:28:41.560 reactions. That's not
00:28:43.400 really what I do. Is that because you don't have

00:28:58.680 Gavin Newsom. Major
00:29:01.500 statement coming out. He's just
00:29:03.420 learned that the Trump administration
00:29:05.400 is sicking its federal
00:29:07.600 investigators on him.
00:29:09.980 In recent days,
00:29:11.280 federal agents have knocked on the doors of family, friends, and former employees,
00:29:15.900 not because they found a crime, because they're simply trying to find one. They're demanding
00:29:21.160 records. They're abusing the grand jury process, digging through years and years of random documents.
00:29:26.900 Trying to find crimes. Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my mean tweets. He's
00:29:32.720 coming after me because I'm considering running for president, because he hates that I've
00:29:37.420 consistently called him out over and over again for his lies and deceit.
00:29:43.260 Okay, so Newsom says, these investigators are come knocking on doors, not because they
00:29:48.080 have conclusive proof of a crime, but because they're trying to figure out if I committed one.
00:29:52.220 Can you believe that? Say, well, that's what investigators do. Yeah. Do you know what the
00:29:55.720 verb investigate means? That's when you're searching for, you're exploring, you're considering
00:30:01.540 evidence to see if a crime has been committed, at which point you would bring charges. So yeah,
00:30:06.280 Trump is investigating me. That's true. And he says he's investigating me because I'm going to
00:30:10.620 run for president. I've been a thorn in his side and I'm going to run for president. That's why
00:30:14.700 he's investigating me. There's just one problem with Newsom's claim. Trump didn't start the
00:30:22.620 investigation. Trump's DOJ didn't start the investigation. As the journalist Adam Housley
00:30:29.100 points out, Emmy award-winning journalist, the investigation began under Joe Biden.
00:30:37.360 Adam Housley posted, he goes, minor detail, they've been under federal investigation since
00:30:41.400 the Biden admin. This isn't new. Not just Adam Housley, but a semaphore White House correspondent
00:30:47.020 says, new, a source familiar with the situation tells me that there are several investigations
00:30:51.480 ongoing relating to Gavin Newsom. I'm told they're focused on his wife's taxes, which we've covered
00:30:56.640 that. His wife seems to have a little bit of a financial scandal, but that's been true for a long
00:30:59.580 time. And Newsom's chief of staff. They did not originate from the main DOJ, but are out of
00:31:05.340 Sacramento and involve whistleblowers per the source. The DOJ is declining to comment.
00:31:10.600 Do we have, do I have, no, I don't have the article. There's a, there's a federal release
00:31:19.140 from the DOJ that was released under Biden. They're investigating this. The chief of staff
00:31:26.480 to Gavin Newsom got caught in some pretty serious corruption. Also, there were allegations of
00:31:32.660 financial corruption on the part of Newsom's wife. So what do you know? They're investigating
00:31:35.680 Gavin Newsom now. This actually isn't coming from Trump. It would be fine if it is. We absolutely
00:31:42.100 should wield the government properly, not unjustly, but properly to investigate corruption,
00:31:48.120 which is manifest throughout the Democrat party, and especially in California, California
00:31:52.780 Democrats who just stole an election from Spencer Pratt, or stole a runoff at least from Spencer
00:31:56.940 Pratt in LA, that would be good. But Newsom's nervous. You can tell Newsom's nervous because
00:32:03.300 he's not a totally stupid guy. So he knows that this investigation did not begin under Trump. 0.99
00:32:08.320 And the fact that he's calling attention to it, DOJ is not calling attention to this.
00:32:11.740 Donald Trump is not calling attention to this. No one would have really known that much about it
00:32:16.260 unless you're a total political nerd, unless Gavin Newsom made the statement. This tells me
00:32:20.700 Gavin Newsom is trying to get ahead of the story. And I think Newsom is trying to get ahead of the
00:32:23.840 story because there's something there, there. Now, speaking of the next president, there is a ton
00:32:30.140 of jockeying going on, as you know. And a lot of this is being exacerbated by the Iran deal.
00:32:36.060 But you've seen this shadow campaign for the Republican presidential nomination being waged,
00:32:41.100 not between the vice president, J.D. Vance, and the secretary of state, Marco Rubio,
00:32:45.240 but between various supporters of those two guys. By all accounts, those two guys get along great.
00:32:51.180 I think they're legitimately friends. Rubio has endorsed Vance. Vance has said many nice things
00:32:55.960 about Rubio. And the shadow campaign is being waged by partisans and ideologues who in many
00:33:02.380 ways, I think, are projecting onto Vance and Rubio their own wishes. I think some people
00:33:08.220 are projecting onto Vance this purely populist, purely isolationist kind of view. There's really
00:33:14.120 no evidence of that at all. And people are projecting onto Rubio this kind of neocon
00:33:18.480 hawkishness return to the Bush era that I think is unfair as well. I don't think that really
00:33:23.820 accurately describes either of those guys. But furthermore, those two guys have made very clear
00:33:30.220 they're not running against each other. Rubio actually endorsed Vance for president. And Donald
00:33:34.380 Trump, who is the king, who is the Caesar, who just hosted the gladiatorial games, he has yet
00:33:40.280 again, the most recent statement he's made on the Vance-Rubio supposed shadow campaign is from just
00:33:47.460 a couple of weeks ago, where he once again endorses them running as a ticket. It's a good idea. And
00:33:56.400 I was interested when you talked about how you studied Marco Rubio and J.D. Vance as they
00:34:01.120 interact what is their interaction and how do they relate i study to see if they like each other
00:34:07.660 i just find it interesting you know it's life it's big time stuff do you do that with everyone
00:34:12.060 in the cabinet i do it with everybody outside of the cabinet too i study everything yeah i'm a
00:34:17.380 studier why because it's interesting human the human thing the human equation so i watch them
00:34:24.680 together they get along great they have a good relationship they're sort of similar in a lot of
00:34:28.620 ways, but they're very talented. And I think the two of them running together as a team would be
00:34:34.560 very unbeatable. So you see this again and again and again. Trump has said the two of these guys
00:34:40.560 running together as a team would be unbeatable. I was actually in the cabinet meeting, the longest
00:34:45.480 cabinet meeting in American history, and I didn't have a chair. But it was all right. It was very
00:34:48.340 cool to be there, where President Trump says, he goes, Marco, you're doing such a good job. I hope
00:34:51.960 you never run for office again. It's like, oh, that's a tough compliment. That's a backhanded
00:34:57.860 comment. He's saying, you're doing such a good job as Secretary of State. I hope you remain in
00:35:01.280 this position. Other times he said, I hope he runs on the ticket with J.D. Vance, who's obviously
00:35:06.520 the heir apparent. You're seeing this unity from Trump down into the relationship between Vance
00:35:14.180 and Rubio. I believe Trump's perception of that now. It's really kind of noise that's happening
00:35:20.480 among the chattering class and among ideologues who aren't even really connected to those two guys
00:35:24.320 who are trying to drive a wedge between them.
00:35:27.380 You look at the Dems right now,
00:35:28.560 the Dems are totally at each other's throats.
00:35:32.780 You're seeing, you look at the Dems right now,
00:35:34.260 you're seeing that that investigation into Newsom
00:35:36.140 seems to have begun in Sacramento, not even in D.C.
00:35:39.380 Meanwhile, the GOP remains pretty unified.
00:35:41.620 Now, speaking of Trump,
00:35:43.940 Trump's seemingly preternatural power,
00:35:48.880 there's one little coda that we have to add
00:35:51.900 to that UFC fight the other night.
00:35:54.020 You know, we saw the signs in the sky,
00:35:55.840 the rainbow appearing over the Washington Monument
00:35:58.940 with a shot of lightning between the rainbow and the Washington.
00:36:02.220 All these amazing images coming.
00:36:03.680 There's one more amazing image that not enough people are talking about.
00:36:06.620 It comes from our National Weather Service,
00:36:08.580 one of our National Weather Services.
00:36:09.800 First, though, my favorite comment yesterday is from Sonia Childs, M2S,
00:36:16.040 who says,
00:36:17.440 Our pride colors should be red, white, and blue.
00:36:21.680 I love that.
00:36:22.760 I love that.
00:36:23.260 That's great.
00:36:24.600 I like sometimes I like the blunt.
00:36:28.420 We don't eat French fries.
00:36:29.740 We eat freedom fries.
00:36:31.620 Bleed red, white, and blue.
00:36:33.000 That's my pride flag. 0.81
00:36:34.380 Am I right?
00:36:35.440 I love it.
00:36:36.240 That's right.
00:36:36.580 You're right.
00:36:37.380 You're right.
00:36:37.900 It should be.
00:36:38.680 Okay.
00:36:40.060 A lot of great images came out of that UFC fight.
00:36:42.660 You had the flyover pic with the octagon in front of the White House.
00:36:46.640 I mean, that was pretty good.
00:36:47.200 That was an iconic photo.
00:36:49.220 Obviously, that photo cost some money to stage.
00:36:52.260 Then you got a photo for free where it's the rainbow with the shot of lightning by the
00:36:56.980 Washington Monument over the reflecting pool. You think, good grief, this is something the
00:37:00.320 ancient pagans, the ancient Romans would have seen as an omen from the gods.
00:37:04.740 But then there's another weird one. Here's another weird one. We were hearing from the
00:37:08.800 Weather Channel especially, but we were hearing all day, Saturday and Sunday, that Trump's fight
00:37:14.320 is going to be rained out. Terrible weather, swarms of flies and mosquitoes everywhere.
00:37:20.760 It's going to rain.
00:37:21.880 And you think, all right, it's D.C. in the summer.
00:37:23.280 There are flies and mosquitoes.
00:37:24.440 But, oh, it's going to be awful.
00:37:26.020 It's going to be like a plague.
00:37:27.260 You know, it's just going to be absolutely terrible.
00:37:28.480 And there was bad weather coming in.
00:37:30.220 And then this is crazy.
00:37:31.640 The bad weather is approaching Washington, D.C.
00:37:34.140 It's coming on.
00:37:35.460 And then, how do you explain this?
00:37:38.140 Just as it gets to Washington, it like splits apart.
00:37:43.420 So you have, you know, really bad weather, thunderstorms, all of this just south of Washington.
00:37:49.280 and just north of Washington.
00:37:53.100 And then it seems that the weather system
00:37:54.700 actually blew a lot of the flies and mosquitoes
00:37:56.280 out of the way entirely.
00:37:57.420 And it just, let me just ask you something.
00:38:00.520 How do you explain that?
00:38:02.600 This is a subject that concerns me greatly,
00:38:05.980 that I think about a lot,
00:38:07.080 that I'm actually writing a book on now,
00:38:08.740 which is, how do you explain a sign like this?
00:38:15.040 Does this have meaning?
00:38:16.080 Is it just like a random coincidence?
00:38:17.600 coincidence, is it just when the rainbow appears, whether we're talking about the rainbow in the
00:38:21.820 book of Genesis or we're talking about the rainbow Sunday in Washington, D.C., when a sign just
00:38:25.720 appears, when a weird coincidence just happens, when an improbable turn of events happens, is it
00:38:29.940 just like, I guess that was random, or does it have meaning? Does it have significance? You know,
00:38:35.640 St. Thomas Aquinas writes in the very first passages of the Summa Theologiae, book one,
00:38:41.440 right at the beginning, he says, books, especially scripture, has meaning. Because you write the
00:38:49.440 letters, and there's the literal thing, and then there's the figurative thing, and there's the
00:38:53.640 moral and the anagogical. And so we have to interpret that the symbols signify something.
00:38:59.900 They have meaning. They symbolize something. But God is the author of creation, which means that
00:39:05.720 things mean something too. It's not just that letters and words and signs signify something,
00:39:11.540 but because God made creation, things, just like the lamp and the lightning and the person you're
00:39:17.940 encountering and the chance event, that has meaning too. And I look at the weather systems
00:39:23.660 in DC or on Sunday night and just say, how do you, does that have meaning? Is it all just like
00:39:28.740 random? Is it all just life is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing? 1.00
00:39:32.820 Is it that? Or is life full of meaning? Is our world rich in semiotics and symbols? And 1.00
00:39:40.320 can you actually pull meaning out of it? Okay. Well, speaking of this type of phenomenon,
00:39:46.820 and speaking generally of phenomena not explained by natural means, Lisa Kudrow from Friends,
00:39:51.880 you know, Phoebe from Friends, one of the more sane-seeming people in Hollywood,
00:39:56.820 She goes on Bill Maher's show to explain her conclusion that consciousness is not in the brain.
00:40:04.440 And Bill Maher, hardcore atheist, cannot comprehend what she's saying.
00:40:10.060 I've been listening to physicists that are, you know, thinking about the difficult question of consciousness.
00:40:21.320 and deciding that what makes the most sense
00:40:27.000 is consciousness is not in here.
00:40:31.300 It exists in a field,
00:40:35.120 the field that is everywhere.
00:40:38.400 But it's not in here.
00:40:41.580 I don't understand that.
00:40:42.760 You don't understand it.
00:40:44.440 What do you mean everywhere?
00:40:45.500 Because you like writing while smoking, right?
00:40:50.620 or being altered in some way.
00:40:52.860 Yes, exactly.
00:40:54.040 So a lot of neuroscientists, I'll say a lot,
00:40:57.420 but neuroscientists are saying the brain is a great filter,
00:41:01.700 especially this front part.
00:41:03.480 And it really, it's filtering all the information
00:41:06.740 you can't use to exist here.
00:41:09.120 Once you make the filter a little more permeable,
00:41:15.080 you're getting access to some things.
00:41:18.160 and creativity is one of those things
00:41:22.140 that maybe doesn't start here.
00:41:24.660 Okay, okay.
00:41:25.400 There's a lot of woo-woo new age nonsense here,
00:41:27.900 but there's a core of total insight.
00:41:31.480 And it's kind of funny
00:41:32.220 because for those who are, you know,
00:41:34.320 in the more of millennial Gen X boomer in the audience,
00:41:38.140 Lisa Kudrow's character on Friends 0.91
00:41:41.240 was this kind of woo-woo new agey hippie type. 1.00
00:41:44.220 But, and she sounds that way a little bit here.
00:41:46.100 So when she says, you know,
00:41:47.180 actually doing drugs can make you more creative. Yeah, maybe. I don't know. It can also fry your
00:41:50.520 brain and turn you into Brian Wilson, takes a genius and just turns him into a vegetable.
00:41:54.220 So I wouldn't encourage you to do drugs. The idea that the brain is just a filter for the
00:41:58.480 consciousness, man, there's some truth to that, which is that just as our eyes take in color and
00:42:03.520 our ears take in sound waves and our fingers and feel take in texture, so too our intellects are
00:42:12.900 are dealing, our brains are working with our intellects to like deal in things, to deal in
00:42:17.600 universals and forms. But her core point here, which is that consciousness is not synonymous
00:42:25.440 with the brain, that is obviously true. And this is a scholastic and an ancient insight
00:42:31.780 that the mind and the brain are different. And the only part where I think she goes a little wrong
00:42:41.180 is she's kind of separating them too much.
00:42:44.500 Our culture identifies them as the same
00:42:46.460 because we're materialists
00:42:47.300 and we just view ourselves as meatbags.
00:42:49.440 But what she's describing
00:42:52.080 is how you can make sense of near-death experiences.
00:42:55.300 You know, when people have an out-of-body experience,
00:42:57.180 well, how can it be that I'm conscious
00:42:58.380 outside of my body?
00:42:59.820 That doesn't make a lot of sense.
00:43:01.980 But the reality of it is
00:43:03.820 that our intellect is immaterial.
00:43:08.260 It's not the same thing as our brain.
00:43:09.760 The way that we know this
00:43:10.720 because it receives universals and forms
00:43:12.960 and abstracts things from the tangible world.
00:43:15.180 So it's like taking sensory data
00:43:17.540 that is working with our brain,
00:43:19.320 but it's abstracting them
00:43:20.560 and dealing with things that are immaterial,
00:43:22.160 immaterial substances.
00:43:23.560 And weirdly enough,
00:43:25.340 in this woo-woo conversation
00:43:26.960 where you got Phoebe from Friends
00:43:28.340 talking about like the force fields out there and stuff,
00:43:30.920 and Bill Maher,
00:43:32.780 who is supposedly, you know,
00:43:34.380 the really grounded normal guy,
00:43:38.700 Lisa Kudrow is more correct.
00:43:40.420 She is more correct than Bill Maher here. And it reminds me of this phenomenon in politics,
00:43:46.320 which is you have these guys who are libertarians, classical liberals, center-leftists,
00:43:51.880 or sorry, center-right people will say, you know that Bill Maher, I know he's a big lib and he's
00:43:56.240 on the left, but I find myself agreeing with him more and more. Bill Maher and I have common ground.
00:44:01.160 There's this idea that you're going to form a political coalition of libertarians and center-right
00:44:05.840 people and center left people who like to smoke pot and are just disillusioned because the left
00:44:10.520 got woke. And I actually think, no, Bill Maher is wrong about everything. I get a kick out of
00:44:14.880 him. I'd like to have a conversation with him, but he's exact. I would much rather be in a
00:44:20.220 political coalition with like woo-woo Lisa Kudrow than I would with Bill Maher because he's totally
00:44:25.500 wrong. He thinks God doesn't exist. He thinks that we're just meat puppets. In as much as he
00:44:31.420 has a political ideology, the political ideology is liberalism, which is totally wrong.
00:44:35.840 In some ways, I can have a more fruitful conversation with a communist than I can
00:44:39.400 with a liberal. In any case, good on Phoebe. Just remember, your consciousness, man,
00:44:45.540 it's not the same thing as your brain. Also, don't do drugs. Okay, much more to say. Speaking
00:44:49.540 of intelligence, Trump is apparently purging the intelligence community. Love that. But
00:44:53.700 it's Tee Hee Tuesday. So the rest of the show continues now. We have Cabot joining us,
