The Michael Knowles Show - Ep. 595 - Strategic Ignorance

00:00:00.000 In the age of virtual political conventions, President Trump may accept the Republican

00:00:04.620 Party nomination at Gettysburg, which is obviously the site of another great oration

00:00:09.440 by the first Republican president who, like President Trump, had to put down

00:00:14.680 violent insurrections led by Democrats and who had to defend our liberties and to defend our

00:00:21.200 country. The symbolism, so beautiful, totally fitting. CNN is furious.

00:00:26.640 And Pam, we've reported that President Trump is considering delivering his GOP nomination

00:00:31.560 acceptance speech from the White House. But amid some criticism of that potential venue,

00:00:35.760 the president is now floating another one. This time, he's talking about the hallowed

00:00:39.660 Civil War battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. But that could be controversial, too,

00:00:44.120 particularly because this is a president who has consistently positioned himself as a defender

00:00:48.440 of Confederate symbols and monuments to Confederate generals. Pam?

00:00:52.240 Yeah, that's a fair point to make.

00:00:53.640 That's not a fair point to make. What is it, a defender of Confederate symbols?

00:00:58.680 I guess it's just another way to say he's a Nazi, he's a white supremacist, he's a terrible, 1.00

00:01:02.720 awful person. You know who else was a defender of Confederate symbols? Abraham Lincoln, the man 1.00

00:01:06.920 who won the Civil War and freed all of the slaves. Because he understood we have to come together as

00:01:11.140 a country. We have to recognize what history has done and how it's shaped our country and how we

00:01:16.620 need to unite all as Americans with malice toward none, with charity for all. But the left doesn't

00:01:23.180 want you to understand history. They want to weaponize ignorance. We'll fight back.

00:01:28.220 I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show.

00:01:29.900 Welcome back to the show. My favorite comment from yesterday on the YouTubes comes from Mohammed 1.00

00:01:44.500 Farouk, who says,

00:01:46.140 As a Muslim, I say good for Mr. MacArthur defying a government that condones peaceful protests,

00:01:54.460 aka riots, and essential services, but doesn't allow the most essential of services. This is the

00:02:02.480 point. Mohammed, you hit the nail on the head. In our material world where the left has convinced us

00:02:08.760 that nothing exists except for flesh and we're all just a bunch of meat puppets kind of walking around,

00:02:12.820 they think that the only essential services are food and water, but man does not live

00:02:16.680 by bread and bread alone. And our civilization, as it grew and flourished, always understood that.

00:02:22.680 And now that we think we're just a bunch of sort of physical objects floating around in space

00:02:27.820 until we turn to worm food, now obviously that civilization decays. But we got to get it back.

00:02:33.680 We have to recognize that there is a spiritual dimension of life. We need to protect our civilization,

00:02:40.960 not just our civilization. We got to protect all that stuff too. Fraudsters are trying to capitalize

00:02:45.560 these days by sending messages through social media and emails trying to get consumers to fall

00:02:50.360 for a scam that uses cash app. It seems like there's a new scam every day. This one has messages

00:02:56.540 that offer free money via the cash app to help them through this difficult time. However, the link in

00:03:02.020 the message is fraudulent. It's malicious. It could steal money and personal information. There are a zillion

00:03:08.280 of these scams out there. Very, very important to protect your data. Every day we put our information

00:03:14.600 at risk on the internet. You can miss certain identity threats by just monitoring your credit.

00:03:19.120 Well, good thing there's LifeLock. These are the guys that I trust. LifeLock. No one can prevent

00:03:25.020 all identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses. But LifeLock can see threats that you

00:03:31.380 might miss on your own. Join right now and you will save up to 25% off your first year.

00:03:37.700 Go to LifeLock.com slash Knowles, K-N-W-L-E-S. That is LifeLock.com slash Knowles, K-N-W-L-E-S

00:03:44.920 right now. You can't do it too soon. Head on over. So many threats out there. LifeLock.com slash Knowles

00:03:50.540 for 25% off. Donald Trump, a defender of Confederate symbols. What does that mean? It means if you don't

00:03:57.680 want to tear down American history, if you don't want to tear down our statues, then you're a 0.56

00:04:01.460 defender of Confederate symbols. He's a defender of the country. He's a defender of the country

00:04:06.280 against the actual violent marauders walking around, running around, peacefully rioting and

00:04:12.380 harming people and breaking their property and tearing down our country. But he's also defending

00:04:18.200 them against the ideological framework that is motivating all of these protesters. And that,

00:04:24.920 you know, you see that in the media, obviously. We just saw that with CNN. You see that all

00:04:29.380 throughout the culture. You see that from Hollywood. But where does it begin? It begins with the

00:04:34.260 educational systems. This is something the left has understood for at least 100 years and the right

00:04:40.500 hasn't caught up. How essential the educational apparatus is to the left's agenda and what they're

00:04:48.040 doing. It's not that they're arming the left, you know, future generations with facts, with information

00:04:53.680 about our history. What they're actually arming them with is ignorance. What they're teaching them

00:04:59.260 is ignorance. There was this crazy study out of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. This was

00:05:03.960 now 13 years ago. Imagine how much worse it is now. It looked at students at the top colleges,

00:05:09.980 all the elite colleges. It was a survey of American civics, politics, history. It showed that graduating

00:05:16.660 seniors were more ignorant about their own country than incoming freshmen. That was the product, 0.98

00:05:22.660 was that ignorance. And now the teachers are admitting it. It always comes back to education.

00:05:27.100 There's a teacher, I think it was Matt Walsh found this yesterday. It was kind of going around the

00:05:30.560 Internet. Obviously, this teacher has since deleted the thread. Matthew R.K., a founding teacher at the

00:05:36.620 Science Leadership Academy, also known as SLA, not that SLA, very different, very bad SLA, I guess,

00:05:42.740 with this teacher. He tweets out, so this fall, virtual class discussions will have many potential

00:05:49.480 spectators, parents, siblings, et cetera, in the same room. We'll never be quite sure who's overhearing

00:05:56.280 the discourse. What does this do for our equity slash inclusion work? How much have students

00:06:02.220 depended on these somewhat secure barriers of our physical classrooms to encourage vulnerability?

00:06:07.880 Vulnerability? It's getting creepier by the second, right? He's saying, we don't want the parents to hear

00:06:12.100 the trash that we're teaching these kids, and we want them to be really vulnerable away from their

00:06:16.360 parents. You want them to be vulnerable? How many of us have installed some version of what happens 0.97

00:06:21.300 here stays here to help us? Okay, even creepier. While conversations about race are in my wheelhouse

00:06:27.200 and remain a concern in this no-walls environment, I am most intrigued by the damage that helicopter

00:06:32.440 snowplow parents can do in honest conversations about gender sexuality. Red alert, sirens going off,

00:06:38.460 this creepy teacher doesn't want the parents to hear what he's saying to the kids, especially on issues

00:06:42.780 of sex. And while conservative parents are my chief concern, I know that the damage can come

00:06:47.680 from the left too. If we are engaged in the messy work of destabilizing a kid's racism or homophobia

00:06:54.740 or transphobia, how much do we want their classmates' parents piling on? This guy is going to manage to

00:07:01.760 get me to vote for the COVID lockdowns. As you know, I've been pretty anti-lockdown. I don't think

00:07:07.520 there's any scientific reason to have the lockdowns anymore or to force people to wear the masks all

00:07:12.780 the time. We'll get into the science of that later because it's a day that ends in Y. There's more

00:07:16.960 science coming out to defend our position on this and to oppose the left's position. But now I'm sort

00:07:22.380 of rooting for the lockdowns because the lockdowns are keeping the kids out of these schools, these

00:07:28.260 modern-day liberal madrasas, and out of the hands of these teachers who are preying on kids and

00:07:35.320 preying on separating kids from their parents. Education is the issue here. And the left knows

00:07:42.080 that education, it doesn't start when you enter college. It's much earlier than that. It's why

00:07:46.720 the left, one, it does want to force kids into college so that they have a little bit more time

00:07:50.600 to be indoctrinated in the state ideology. But it wants to start them earlier too. Now public schools

00:07:55.000 have pre-K. I didn't go to pre-K when I was a kid. I started in kindergarten. And when my father was

00:08:00.740 a kid, he didn't even go to kindergarten. But they keep adding on all these times to keep you out,

00:08:04.840 away from your family, and spending more time in the public government schools to indoctrinate you

00:08:10.740 in this ideology. We talked yesterday about how you're always going to have some kind of religion.

00:08:15.480 Either it's going to be a traditional religion like Christianity, or it's going to be a modern 0.99

00:08:19.880 religion like secular leftism. Same thing here. You're going to indoctrinate students one way or

00:08:25.860 the other because indoctrinate comes from the word dotere. It just means to teach. So what are you

00:08:29.380 going to teach them? Are you going to teach them the classics? Are you going to teach them reading,

00:08:32.000 writing, and arithmetic? Are you going to teach them the things that they need to be free people

00:08:35.640 like the liberal arts? Or are you going to teach them a bunch of creepy sex ideology? And are you

00:08:41.660 going to teach them a bunch of racial grievance? And are you going to teach them to become part of

00:08:47.220 the liberal revolution? This has real effects. There was a video that was going around the internet

00:08:52.700 yesterday that was shocking in its audacity. You know, we've seen a lot of videos coming out

00:09:00.180 from the riots, the peaceful riots, you know, where people are for social justice stealing a pair of

00:09:04.960 Nikes. And one thing about those videos is it's usually onlookers, right? And sometimes they're

00:09:11.000 onlookers who will say, hey, what are you doing? Why are you stealing those sneakers? I was stealing

00:09:14.760 from Gucci, going to stop police brutality. What made this woman's video a little different is that

00:09:20.700 she was live streaming it herself. She was live streaming herself, committing a crime and looting

00:09:27.820 all, I kid you not, in the name of social justice. Take a listen.

00:09:33.780 How you get all of them? They own this thing right here. Look, they tried to pull it out,

00:09:40.500 but it ain't coming out. I don't know where the keys at, child.

00:09:44.820 She's trying to get the keys to take the tags off of the clothing that she's stealing. 1.00

00:09:48.740 Hold on. Let me see. Did they say Valentino?

00:09:55.700 Looking for Valentino. She's got good taste, I guess.

00:09:57.640 Hold on. Let me find me something first. Hold on.

00:10:01.140 You can hear other people kind of yelling running around this door.

00:10:04.700 There it is. I can't breathe, she says. I can't breathe. Quoting what George Floyd said,

00:10:12.380 which kicked off all of these riots, allegedly. Now, that picture is complicated because what

00:10:18.640 this woman seems to be suggesting is George Floyd said, I can't breathe because Derek Chauvin,

00:10:23.520 the officer, had his knee on George Floyd's neck. But what we saw from the full body cam footage

00:10:27.220 is George Floyd had been yelling, I can't breathe, much earlier, just when he was standing around and

00:10:31.860 refusing arrest. But that's what we're being told. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. If you're

00:10:38.020 going to say that, if you're going to live stream yourself stealing stuff from a department store

00:10:41.520 and laughing about it, talking about how you want some more Valentino, what it means is you've

00:10:46.220 imbibed a BS historical narrative in the modern history, meaning that there's this scourge of 0.95

00:10:52.020 racist cops going around hunting innocent black people around the country. That is not happening. 0.76

00:10:56.360 There is zero, zero evidence that that is happening. But a lot of people believe that.

00:11:01.880 It means you've imbibed a BS historical narrative that black people have no ability to succeed in 0.98

00:11:06.560 America. There's been no improvement. We're basically living in the old terrible slavery 0.96

00:11:10.740 days and the founders were racists and they didn't believe all men are created equal and

00:11:14.900 they just launched the revolution. In fact, they just launched it to protect slavery. That 0.59

00:11:19.780 lie that the 1619 Project out of the New York Times says, even though even left-wing historians

00:11:25.360 admit that's BS. It means you've imbibed that fake historical narrative. The other thing it

00:11:30.740 means is you're a criminal with no sense of shame. Because even if you feel like you've been

00:11:35.960 wronged, the sort of traditional, good, virtuous understanding of that is I've been wronged and

00:11:44.880 I will suffer and that suffering will be sanctifying and I'm not going to live stream myself stealing

00:11:49.220 a bunch of Gucci shoes. There's nothing honorable or noble about that and laughing and yelling

00:11:55.240 and taking other people's property. But if you have no education, don't forget education isn't

00:11:59.520 just facts that go in your head. It's not just learning how to do basic arithmetic and learning

00:12:04.400 about history which is one damn fact after another. Education is about the whole person. It's how you 0.90

00:12:09.400 behave. It's how you're raised. He wasn't raised right. He was raised right. It's having good

00:12:13.740 manners. I mean, if you just think even in the Latin languages, the word educate also means like

00:12:19.540 your behavior. It means you obviously were not raised right. And then the third thing, and this is the

00:12:25.080 essential one for our political situation. If you're filming yourself doing that, it means you have

00:12:29.680 no fear of punishment. Zero fear. You're flaunting it in people's faces. Think about this. If a regular

00:12:38.360 old vandal wants to go in and mess up some property or maybe steal something from a store, he does it

00:12:45.240 surreptitiously. He hides it. He conceals it, right? He doesn't want to get caught because there are

00:12:48.600 consequences. Now we see the left encouraging this kind of thing. And this woman imbibing that realizes 1.00

00:12:55.440 she's not going to get in trouble. So she just steals outright. All of that is based on poor education. 1.00

00:13:03.640 You can blame a lot of other factors too and bad politicians and yada, yada, yada. But it boils down to

00:13:09.900 bad education. What are we going to do about that? Bad education doesn't just happen on the extreme

00:13:15.700 activist side, you know, of the people on the front lines and the left. It doesn't just have to do with

00:13:21.340 Black Lives Matter or anything else. It pervades the entire liberal establishment. There's this guy,

00:13:27.800 John Fugelsang. You know, John Fugelsang was an actor. And I think now he hosts a serious radio TV

00:13:33.400 show. S-I-R-I-U-S, not S-E-O. It's not serious. It's on serious. And he and I have kind of sparred

00:13:41.980 every now and again at some events, Politicon. John Fugelsang said one of the dumbest things I've 0.93

00:13:50.360 ever heard. And he has a habit of doing this, particularly on the topic of Christianity. 0.99

00:13:56.100 But he got caught doing it yesterday. And it shows you kind of the circular firing squad of the left.

00:14:01.000 John Fugelsang, he's kind of known for tweeting out bad Bible takes. He just, his whole shtick is

00:14:06.740 shaming people for being Christian and supporting Republican candidates. And he has this, he has

00:14:12.700 this theory that the Bible supports abortion, which obviously it does not. And he regularly

00:14:18.400 exhibits his ignorance on this topic. But, but that's the whole shtick. It's not, it doesn't 0.91

00:14:21.980 really have anything to do with the Bible. He, he just wants to make a mockery of conservative

00:14:26.400 Christians. And the, his followers who know even less about the Bible than he does go along with 1.00

00:14:31.860 this. So he tweets out yesterday, he goes, the only white people in the Bible are the ones who

00:14:36.120 executed Jesus. Ha ha, zing, you got him. But as you might imagine, this attracted a lot of 0.86

00:14:44.760 controversy because it's, it sounds kind of anti-Semitic, doesn't it? You know, we, we know

00:14:50.440 that the Jewish high priests, the Sanhedrin were the ones who came over and were trying, trying to

00:14:56.600 get Jesus, you know, trying to get him. And then they delivered him up to the Romans and the Romans

00:15:00.040 eventually executed him. But for a lot of people, both on the, on the left and, and on the right,

00:15:06.140 they, they took this to be an anti-Semitic remark. And John Fugelsang followed up. He said,

00:15:10.680 I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I honestly thought everyone would understand this to be the Romans. I

00:15:14.660 underestimated how many people still blame the Jews, which is how the Romans wanted it. So he's

00:15:18.900 like, no, no, I would never exhibit ignorant bigotry against Jews. I meant to exhibit ignorant 1.00

00:15:24.240 bigotry against Italians. But it actually does come down from biblical illiteracy and historical 1.00

00:15:29.220 illiteracy. He then came after the Daily Wire for some reason. I don't know why he said,

00:15:33.500 since the revoltingly fake Christians of the Daily Wire are using this quote for angry right-wing 0.99

00:15:38.920 white guy crack, white guy's terrible, by the way, white guy, they're worse people on earth. Every 1.00

00:15:42.580 other person is way better because of their race and sex, but white guy's horrible. It's worth pointing 1.00

00:15:46.820 out that anti-Semites have always blamed exclusively the Jews for Jesus's execution. I mentioned this

00:15:53.540 tweet because there's this funny thing that the left does, which is the left will say, and you'll notice

00:15:58.980 it sometime. They do this often. I'll say, Christianity is terrible. It's stupid. It's 1.00

00:16:04.140 foolish. It's the cause of the greatest evil in the world. It led to colonialism and this-ism and 1.00

00:16:12.780 that-ism. And also, you guys are a bunch of fake Christians. If Christianity is as bad as you say, 0.98

00:16:21.540 isn't it better to be a fake Christian than a real Christian? They try to hit you for both things at 0.99

00:16:27.400 once. This is something that has been a consistent attack on the church from the very beginning. It's

00:16:32.660 one of the great arguments for why the church is the church is they'll hit you for both sides. They'll

00:16:36.820 say, the church is too ascetic. And they'll say, the church is too luxurious, right? Or they'll kind of

00:16:41.700 hit you from both angles. And so this one, they'll say, Christianity is so terrible. And also, it'd be so 0.99

00:16:45.880 much better if you were a real Christian, not a fake Christian. And then he follows it up and he says,

00:16:51.420 just remember, it's not possible to follow both Trump and Jesus. Anyone who says you can has read

00:16:57.080 neither of their books. But America is where the right wing got Christians to vote against all the 0.54

00:17:01.020 actual teachings of Christ by screaming about abortion, which Christ doesn't mention. Of

00:17:05.460 course, Christ does mention that. He makes it quite clear it's wrong to murder babies. But that's

00:17:11.460 neither here nor there. What it shows you is a couple things. One, it shows you that there is this

00:17:16.200 alternate religion of the left, right? We know that religion is fundamental to people. So they've

00:17:21.880 got to set up kind of their own separate religion that is a contender against Christianity. But it

00:17:26.660 shows you the role of ignorance. Anybody who's ever cracked open the spine of a Bible knows that

00:17:30.960 this guy is completely full of it. But how many people have cracked open the spine of a Bible?

00:17:36.240 How many people even, you're not even allowed to read the Bible in schools. It's the essential book

00:17:40.480 of Western civilization. You can read a bunch of stupid postmodern novels, but you can't read the Bible. 1.00

00:17:46.200 That's the problem. It didn't happen by accident. This is part of a wider plan. We'll get into that 1.00

00:17:52.360 plan first, though. I've got to thank our friends over at Rock Auto. You know how much I love Rock

00:17:55.860 Auto. Speaking of ignorance, I will confess to some ignorance. I don't know that much about cars. 0.89

00:18:01.560 That's why it's very easy when something goes wrong in my car for unscrupulous car parts salesmen

00:18:07.700 to pull one over on me. You know, you go into the brick and mortar store, you say,

00:18:11.660 I don't got this problem with my car. And they'll say, okay, yeah, well, yeah, we don't have the part in

00:18:15.700 stock, but we got to go online. They go online. They probably go to rockauto.com and then they

00:18:19.120 just charge you twice as much. But don't do that. You don't need to do that. Rockauto.com makes it

00:18:23.880 so easy. Their website is so simple, intuitive, easy to navigate that even I can do it, which is

00:18:31.620 pretty shocking. They've also, they've been a family business serving online auto parts customers

00:18:36.300 for 20 years. That's about as long as online has existed. They've been in, they always offer reliably

00:18:42.420 low prices and the prices are the same for the professionals and the do it yourselfers.

00:18:46.920 Why spend up to twice as much for the same parts? Head on over to rockauto.com right now. You can see

00:18:53.780 all the parts available for your car or truck. And then most importantly, write Knowles, K-N-A-W-L-E-S 0.91

00:18:57.840 in their how did you hear about us box so that they know that we sent you. That is rockauto.com.

00:19:02.900 The left perverts history. The left perverts religion. And then where do these intersect?

00:19:10.760 The left perverts science. We were talking about this a little bit, I think last week,

00:19:15.080 how very, very directly, especially from the progressive era onward, one way that the left

00:19:21.720 has gained control and the progressives have gained control is they've changed science and

00:19:27.380 history. And so science now has a capital S and a trademark over the E and it's always settled and

00:19:32.340 it's always whatever they say. And they're, you know, they've also then applied that to history

00:19:36.540 and they say there's a science of history. Once you know the science of history, you know how

00:19:39.800 history is going to end. You know, if you're on the right or the wrong side of history, there's a

00:19:43.820 science to politics. We're no longer debating the eternal questions about justice and equality and

00:19:48.400 liberty. Nope. Sorry. You don't get any control over that anymore. We're going to outsource your

00:19:52.300 whole, your politics to the scientists and the white lab coats. They're going to run our lives for us. 0.99

00:19:56.720 It'll be totally fine. We're gonna have the social sciences. They're going to tell you how to spend your

00:19:59.980 money, how to live, what sort of social relations to be in. And it's all just science, science, science,

00:20:04.820 science. Of course, it's not really science in the, in the classical sense of that term. It's just

00:20:11.040 whatever they want in their political views while they tell you to shut up. Sometimes they tell you

00:20:16.280 to be even more intimidated than just shutting up. Sometimes they threaten to murder you, which is

00:20:22.920 what a Nashville city council member just did. Sharon Hurt, who is an at-large member of the Nashville

00:20:27.960 Metro Council, says that if you don't wear the mask, you don't wear the damn mask. If you don't wear the 0.99

00:20:33.440 mask, you should be tried for murder. If Mike Jameson could be the one to answer the question.

00:20:42.820 But my concern is, you know, I work for an organization that if they pass a virus,

00:20:50.840 then they are tried for murder or attempted murder if they are not told. And this person

00:21:02.120 who may very well pass this virus that's out in the air because they're not wearing a mask

00:21:10.520 is basically doing the same thing to someone who contracts it and dies from it.

00:21:18.500 Makes perfect sense, right? If you, we know from science, if you don't wear the mask,

00:21:26.140 then you are spreading the virus because the mask is not to protect you. I know early on they said

00:21:31.360 it was to protect you, but then they changed their minds. The mask is to protect everyone else.

00:21:35.520 And I know the masks, you know, they're not that effective, but, but, but now maybe they are

00:21:39.460 effective. And I know early on, they told you don't wear them. Please do not wear them. Now they're

00:21:42.760 telling you, you have to wear them. But regardless now where we are because of science,

00:21:46.820 we know with 100% certainty that you are murdering people if you don't wear the mask,

00:21:52.260 even though the virus has a, what, 99.7% survival rate, something like that,

00:21:57.800 at least very, very, very high nineties, right? Even at the most dire, dire views of it.

00:22:03.520 Still, you're murdering people. Is that right? Is that how it works? No, the science,

00:22:07.360 the real science doesn't show that at all. Actually, the real science shows what I have been saying

00:22:13.100 for many months now, which is the masks are extremely dumb and worse than being dumb. 0.99

00:22:19.420 They are a political symbol that is being used to shape and control the way that politically we 0.99

00:22:24.380 think about this thing. New study published in Science Advances was, was testing how the masks

00:22:31.800 affect the droplet transmission rate. So, you know, the masks aren't controlling all the way that the

00:22:37.400 virus could be transmitted, but we're talking about droplets. You know, when you speak,

00:22:40.900 if you speak like a Shakespearean actor, if you're very plosive on your peas, sometimes a little bit

00:22:46.440 of spittle comes out, little droplets. And so the argument for the masks is, well, it doesn't stop

00:22:50.780 everything, but it does stop some of these little droplets. Okay, well, does it? How, what, what is

00:22:55.620 the effect of the masks on the droplets? Well, it turns out that, you know, if you could,

00:23:01.760 if you had a 90% transmission rate with the mask, that means that it's reducing it by 10%, right?

00:23:08.260 Or 50%, it's reducing the droplet transmission by 50%. Or if it were 10%, right, it's reducing it

00:23:15.160 by 90%. So for some of these masks, how does it, how does it work out? For the neck gaiter mask,

00:23:24.900 you know, it's the one where people can wear it around their neck and then they just pull it up

00:23:27.660 over their nose. The droplet transmission is 110%. It's 10% higher than not wearing a mask.

00:23:38.140 It transmits the virus more aggressively than if you just didn't wear the stupid mask. 1.00

00:23:43.180 How about face shields? I don't know if you've noticed, if you go to dinner at all, 1.00

00:23:46.700 depending on what city you're in, sometimes you'll see the servers wearing face shields,

00:23:50.440 like they're Boba Fett in Star Wars, or like they're some kind of space creature. So they'll put

00:23:56.280 the shields on, maybe like they're welding or something. And you say, I don't think that those

00:23:59.980 shields are doing anything now. Well, according to the CDC, we're all right. CDC does not recommend

00:24:05.140 using these face shields because they don't actually stop the spread of anything. How about

00:24:10.860 the most popular mask? Probably other than those blue ones, which we already know don't do very much.

00:24:16.660 The masks that came out right away, they go across your whole face and they have a little vent in

00:24:20.760 here so that you're not totally suffocating yourself. What about those? Well, according to the CDC,

00:24:24.920 they don't do anything at all. If your mask has an exhalation valve or vent, they don't do anything

00:24:31.640 at all. We don't know if they may increase transmission. We just don't know. They certainly

00:24:35.360 don't help it. That's the science. I'm sure the science is going to change again in the next couple

00:24:39.240 of days. But in the meantime, pay attention to what's really going on because I don't think that

00:24:43.940 anybody is going to react to those studies by saying, okay, I guess we don't need to worry about

00:24:47.980 the mask so much. No, they're going to double down because that's been the point from the beginning

00:24:52.200 because as was true of the progressives a hundred years ago is true today. This is not about science

00:24:57.500 at all. This is about politics. And what the left is doing is weaponizing ignorance. The most egregious

00:25:05.500 example of this went all the way to New York. You remember Andrew Cuomo in New York. He's being hailed

00:25:11.020 as the great leader on coronavirus, even though he handled it worse than any governor in the country.

00:25:16.580 His state then got hit worse than any governor in the country. He then took a bunch of sick people

00:25:21.420 and sent them into nursing homes, which has the only group that is seriously susceptible to

00:25:26.200 coronavirus. And thousands and thousands of senior citizens died because of his stupid policies. 1.00

00:25:32.300 Well, this might prompt people to say, hmm, maybe we should investigate what happened with those 1.00

00:25:37.460 policies, how those policies came to be, why they led to the death of thousands of senior citizens.

00:25:42.100 Andrew Cuomo, he doesn't think that's such a good idea. You know, so much for free,

00:25:46.400 inquiry, so much for the advance of the sciences, for the advance of the academy. Nah, Andrew Cuomo

00:25:50.460 wants to put a lid on that. We'll get into that in one second. And then we'll get into the final

00:25:55.140 political point of it all. The left now, more openly than ever, is trying to steal this election.

00:26:00.920 We'll get into how they're doing it. First, though, got to thank our friends over at Liquid IV.

00:26:05.140 You know, some people are athletes. And so they sweat a lot because they go running or playing football.

00:26:10.720 I don't know what they do. Some of us, though, we prefer to maybe we stay out a little bit late.

00:26:15.100 Maybe we have a couple of adult beverages with our friends. Either way, you got to stay hydrated.

00:26:21.380 You got to stay hydrated just generally. Just in your regular day-to-day life, people don't get

00:26:25.400 enough water. Okay, well, Liquid IV is the wonderful popular hydration drink mix. They've launched their

00:26:32.160 newest line, Energy Multiplier. With roughly 100 milligrams of clean caffeine, it is the perfect

00:26:38.020 coffee replacement and an all-natural alternative to processed energy drinks for a sustained energy

00:26:43.240 boost throughout the day. Half of Americans report that they struggle not just with dehydration but

00:26:47.840 with daily fatigue. Some signs of that include decreased focus, lack of motivation, poor mood,

00:26:52.660 unhappiness. With Liquid IV Energy Multiplier, you can take your day to the next level. The boost you'd

00:26:57.820 get from one or two cups of coffee without the crash contains a mixture of matcha, guayuza, and ginger

00:27:04.680 that is high in antioxidants that helps to improve mood and focus. And it's a healthy alternative to

00:27:10.160 traditional energy drinks and coffee. No artificial flavors or preservatives. I really love these guys.

00:27:15.080 Liquid IV totally works. It's available nationwide at Costco, or you can get 25% off when you go to

00:27:33.240 Andrew Cuomo does not like the idea of an investigation into what happened at these nursing homes.

00:27:38.240 A reporter asked him, state lawmakers today are investigating COVID-19 in nursing homes.

00:27:43.240 There was some criticism for the state health commissioner for not appearing before the panel,

00:27:46.480 so the state health commissioner totally stonewalling them as well. Would you support

00:27:52.060 an independent investigation in order to bridge some of this mutual suspicion about partisanship

00:27:56.520 getting into a better public understanding of what happened in these group home facilities

00:28:02.240 and nursing homes? 0.55

00:28:02.880 And Cuomo, we can't find the video, so I'll just have to do my Cuomo impression,

00:28:07.680 try to imagine I look like a bulldog. He goes, no, I wouldn't do an investigation whether or not

00:28:13.240 it's political. Everybody can make that decision for themselves. I think you'd have to be blind to

00:28:18.920 realize it's not political. Nothing to see here, folks. Nothing to see here. Now, obviously,

00:28:25.240 he's just trying to turn people away from his own egregious failures, bloody, bloody failures on

00:28:31.380 this issue. But what he said here is something that actually gets to the heart of how the left

00:28:35.980 perverts education. He says, no, I don't want an investigation. I don't want people to look at the

00:28:39.920 facts. I think everybody can make that decision for themselves. We so often hear this in education.

00:28:45.160 We hear, kids shouldn't have content-based learning. They should learn to come to conclusions for

00:28:49.860 themselves. But you can't come to conclusions in education unless you learn stuff. I remember this

00:28:57.300 was true even when I was going through school. You would always hear, look, you don't need to

00:29:00.260 learn facts. Just learn broad themes. Just learn broad patterns. But you might realize you can't

00:29:08.620 learn a pattern unless you know the individual parts that make up the pattern. You need to know the

00:29:13.920 individual dots before you can figure out what connects them. But what the left says is, no,

00:29:19.700 no, no, don't learn the facts. They say, oh, who needs the facts? You have Google. You don't need

00:29:23.520 facts. You have the internet. You don't need facts. Just learn that. Well, what is the pattern? What

00:29:27.760 is the theme? It is the narrative that they want to impose on history, on culture, on religion, on

00:29:34.340 whatever. That's the lie. I mean, what Cuomo is saying here, he's using a trick that is tried and

00:29:39.940 true. It's 100 years old at least. Cover up the particulars. Don't let people form their own 0.84

00:29:45.060 conclusions. He's saying let them form their own conclusions. And then he's taking away the only

00:29:48.140 mechanism they would have to do such a thing. Speaking of conclusions, we're in an election

00:29:54.520 year. We're all debating over how and when people are going to vote. But what about the conclusion

00:30:00.040 on election night? Are we going to get it? Unfortunately, our election commissioner says

00:30:03.940 probably not. We'll get to that. We'll get to some people finally waking up at a walkaway rally

00:30:09.060 in Beverly Hills. We'll get to so much more. But first, I got to thank you. I got to thank you for

00:30:14.200 heading on over to the Michael Knowles Show YouTube channel. I'm glad that you go to the

00:30:18.300 Daily Wire YouTube channel. It's fine to give Ben the clicks. Better, however, to go to the Michael

00:30:22.580 Knowles Show one. We've got a great interview with Eric Metaxas up there. We've got exclusive videos

00:30:26.220 like the best and of the worst TikTok so that you will know exactly why Trump promptly banned and

00:30:31.460 deleted it. Also, All Access. That's our exclusive membership tier. The All Access membership tier

00:30:37.100 is great. We form friendships. We're able to talk to people in the All Access show.

00:30:42.580 Right now, you'll get not one but two leftist tiers tumblers with your membership. You'll also

00:30:46.800 get exclusive access to some products that will only be available to All Access. We just had a

00:30:51.880 baseball bat with the Daily Wire logo blazoned on it. It was a limited run. It sold out only to All

00:30:56.200 Access. It sold out in 48 hours. I was not even able to get one, which is very frustrating.

00:31:00.800 But head on over. Right now, you go to dailywire.com slash Knowles. You'll get 20% off All Access

00:31:04.820 with coupon code ACCESS. Dailywire.com slash Knowles. Coupon code ACCESS. You get 20% rather,

00:31:10.900 not 25. Don't get greedy. 20% off. Your membership will be back with a lot more.

00:31:27.580 We're in this election. I hope it's an election. I hope it's free and fair. That's our tradition in

00:31:32.380 America. But this might not be. You know, the left hates transparency. You heard it right at the top.

00:31:37.800 That public school teacher says, no, we don't know. Now with online learning,

00:31:42.500 parents might learn what we're teaching their kids. We can't have any of that. Andrew Cuomo says,

00:31:47.400 no, we can't have any investigation into why my policy has led to thousands of senior citizens

00:31:51.920 dying. And now we're not getting transparency on our election. This is why the left loves mail-in

00:31:59.700 voting. When you've got an election day and a ballot location, then you get a lot of election watchers

00:32:03.780 and they show up for ballot security to make sure Democrats don't pull the kind of tricks that

00:32:07.700 they've been pulling for a very long time. Mail-in voting, you don't get that. It's any day. You send

00:32:13.400 it in. Maybe it gets lost in the mail. We played an experiment on this show just last week where

00:32:18.600 some 3% of ballots got lost in the mail when a news organization tried it. The left loves this.

00:32:24.500 But even if mail-in ballots work perfectly, people still aren't going to post-market by the date that

00:32:30.960 they have to post-market before. They're not going to post-market two weeks before the election.

00:32:34.860 So what that means is if 100 million people vote by mail-in ballot, there's a very good chance

00:32:39.320 that on election night, we're not going to have any idea who won. Let me just tell everybody we're

00:32:44.880 all going to need to take a deep breath and be patient this year because, you know, there's a

00:32:51.540 substantial chance we are not going to know on election night what the results are, possibly for

00:32:57.360 the presidency, but maybe for many other races that are important to people. And that's okay.

00:33:04.380 If it takes a little bit longer to count all the votes accurately, that's what we need to do in order

00:33:10.520 to ensure that everyone's vote counts. That's Federal Election Commissioner Ellen Weintraub. 1.00

00:33:17.640 And it is not okay. It's not okay that we're not going to find out who the winner is on election

00:33:24.440 night. It's not okay that there will be permitted now lots of shenanigans behind the scenes. It's

00:33:29.600 not okay that people are not going to show up to the polling station where we can watch with

00:33:34.260 transparency these kind of elections. It's not okay that you don't have to even show an ID to show

00:33:39.640 that you're even eligible to vote. It's not okay. It is a con. It is a scam. It is an attempt

00:33:46.640 to steal our election by corrupt Democrats. That's what it is. Plain and simple.

00:33:55.340 And unfortunately, some Republicans haven't pushed back enough against the mail-in voting. Why can't

00:33:59.940 they push back enough, hard enough? Look, there's always been some mail-in voting, absentee,

00:34:04.360 maybe you're traveling, but in that limited number, it doesn't swing elections. It's not as

00:34:08.640 rife for abuse, even though it does get abused. Why can't Republicans push back against the widespread

00:34:14.500 national mail-in ballots? Because we haven't pushed back hard enough against the lockdowns.

00:34:20.360 Why haven't we pushed down hard enough against the lockdowns? Because we haven't pushed back hard

00:34:23.380 enough against the BS science narrative that changes its mind every five seconds on the virus

00:34:28.040 and doesn't even admit of new facts. It's in these early small things that you see the rot.

00:34:37.260 And Republicans, conservatives, we don't get that. We only want to fight on the big issues.

00:34:41.120 We don't realize how the seeds of this destruction are planted very early. You can see that obviously

00:34:47.060 in the last five, six months for the coronavirus, but you can also see that with our education system.

00:34:53.440 We all want to fight the political battles. We all want to fight at the battle box. We all want to

00:34:56.500 donate to campaigns. We might even donate to some organizations that try to convince people of

00:35:00.940 things, you know, activist organizations. We don't realize though that whole generations have

00:35:07.140 already been formed by the time we talk to them. They're already formed in kindergarten, first grade,

00:35:12.000 second grade, pre-k, fifth grade. They go all the way up to 12th grade. Then they'll go through college.

00:35:19.040 They've already been formed. That's where the battle has to begin. Otherwise, we're going to get to the

00:35:23.680 point where when we start trying to talk to people once they've graduated college or in college,

00:35:27.080 it's too late. We want to start fighting this voter fraud. Now it's too late. We've already lost

00:35:31.780 that. Now some people, the one consolation here, we sometimes talk about how the conservative

00:35:36.840 consolation is that reality reasserts itself in the end. Well, reality is for some people

00:35:42.300 reasserting itself. There was a walk away rally in Beverly Hills. Walk away rallies, the whole walk

00:35:47.280 away movement is this idea that the various identity groups that have been divvied up by the left are

00:35:53.280 kind of waking up to the con and saying, wait a second, the left, the Democrats don't really support my

00:35:58.320 interests. So they're going to walk away and they're going to vote for Republicans. So there

00:36:01.680 was some woke white liberal guy who was scolding some black woman about how it's against her

00:36:06.400 racial or gender interests to vote for Republicans. And this woman, I don't know her name, but she let 1.00

00:36:12.620 him have it.

00:36:13.620 My life matters. I don't need your privilege to tell me or to justify who I am in America.

00:36:19.620 This is my country. This is my name. I am dancing to build this country. So I'm going to walk

00:36:25.620 around here as bold as I want to. And I don't have to have you to co-sign and tell me my life

00:36:32.620 matters. That thing right there insinuates that you think your voice is bigger better than

00:36:38.340 my mind. Yes, it does. Come on. Now he's going to learn. You can disagree. You can disagree. But you

00:36:46.340 are supporting an organization that does not like black men. And as a black woman, I can tell you how 0.99

00:36:53.140 important black men are to the black family. Without them, we are nothing. So when you support an organization 0.92

00:37:00.340 that doesn't push them up the way we need them to be, you ain't s**t. And you can take that from

00:37:06.900 Chimita Michelle and toast it wherever you like. Love her. Totally love her. Want her to run for 0.93

00:37:14.260 mayor of LA or Beverly Hills or whatever. She gets it right down to the bottom. So this, this white 1.00

00:37:20.540 liberal kid is talking about how great black lives matter. And she goes, you don't know anything about

00:37:24.640 black lives or black lives matter for that matter. Black lives matter is terrible for black people. 1.00

00:37:28.600 Black lives matter is terrible for a great many reasons. But in particular, because it wants to 1.00

00:37:33.720 subvert the family. It's very bad for black men. And if you're supporting the destruction of the 1.00

00:37:40.600 black family, then you're, you're as bad as anybody. You're totally destroying black lives. She gets two 1.00

00:37:47.040 things here that the left is relying on to divvy up the country and gain more power. One is the left

00:37:54.580 wants diversity. So they push this ridiculous line, diversity is our strength. And what they

00:38:00.240 mean by diversity is truly division. They want people to feel totally separated. Diversity in

00:38:05.780 that sense is not our strength. Unity is our strength. There's an older idea in America called

00:38:10.740 a pluribus unum. Out of many, one that we all come together. There's the idea of the melting pot,

00:38:16.260 which developed in the 20th century. The idea that we all come together from maybe from different

00:38:20.180 places, but we all melt together into an American culture. We are united. We, maybe we don't look

00:38:25.980 the same. Maybe we don't do exactly the same things, but we do have an American unity. We've

00:38:30.360 got to come together. That's the only way to fight leftist politics. Some conservatives, maybe they're

00:38:36.320 well-meaning, but certainly they're naive. They think we can beat the left on identity politics grounds.

00:38:41.940 They think that we'll be able to claim identity group loyalty to us. So, so they'll do it. They do it

00:38:46.300 often with black people. They'll say, Democrats say that black people must vote for Democrats, 0.91

00:38:51.300 but we say black people must vote for Republicans. Or they'll say, gay people, Democrats aren't 0.99

00:38:56.820 representing your interests. We are. Vote for us, gay people. It's actually missing the point. 0.85

00:39:01.260 The point is, we are Americans. We're all Americans. You should vote for the party that supports America,

00:39:07.440 not the party that burns the American flag and tears down statues of George Washington.

00:39:11.900 But we are all Americans. This woman says it. She goes, this is my country.

00:39:15.320 Oh, Democrats, they get so angry. They get furious when their pet identity politics groups

00:39:23.900 acknowledge that America is their country, feel loyalty and gratitude for America.

00:39:29.500 They don't like that, but it's true. This is our country. Altogether, you should vote for the party

00:39:35.000 that supports the country, not the party that wants to tear the country down. And then what she realizes

00:39:39.580 is the importance of institutions, not just starting at the level of the federal government,

00:39:43.480 not just the state, not just the municipal government, not even just the voluntary associations,

00:39:48.840 the family, the family, the building block of society, the only thing between you and a tyrannical

00:39:55.340 government, the family. It's not, some people think that the basic building block of society is the

00:40:01.400 atomized individual. Some people think it's the collective overall. Those are two sides of the same

00:40:07.600 coin. The left can only gather you up into one collective once they've split you up from all of

00:40:13.900 your institutions, most importantly, the family into atomized individuals. That's how communism

00:40:18.300 operates. That's how fascism operates. Fascism literally comes from the description of the bundle

00:40:22.560 of sticks that they're all separate. And then they're bounded together in the state. The family is what

00:40:27.800 will protect you. This woman gets it. We should all get it too. Some people realize in our government,

00:40:34.240 even though the activists, I understand regular old people, they get it much better than most

00:40:39.540 politicians, but there are some politicians who understand what's going on too. Attorney General

00:40:43.860 Bill Barr, the honey badger, as Senator Cruz once dubbed him on our show verdict. Bill Barr was driving

00:40:50.060 by in a car and saw a bunch of pro cop protesters. He tells the driver, turn around, gets out of the car,

00:40:55.780 starts shaking everybody's hand. There he is. They're waving American flags, signs that say back

00:41:07.020 the blue. Keep up the good work, Attorney General. They're so happy to see him. They don't hate him.

00:41:16.160 They're not throwing frozen water bottles or Molotov cocktails at him.

00:41:19.740 You did wonderful on your testimony. It was spectacular, I thought.

00:41:24.680 Just good Americans thanking another good American, waving the American flag. These days,

00:41:31.400 it does your heart good. That is a great image. You know, yesterday, we played that mayor of Portland

00:41:39.620 who was yelling, Ted Wheeler, he was yelling at the protesters because he said,

00:41:44.320 you're giving the Trump campaign B-roll footage for their campaign ads. B-roll footage, right? He's

00:41:50.740 saying, no, the Trump campaign is now going to exploit what you are doing. He's just going to

00:41:55.640 show people what you're doing, and that's going to help him win elections. Well, that sort of thing

00:42:00.000 does help because no matter how much people have been indoctrinated, perverted in this idea of

00:42:07.820 how to think about their country, how to think about their history, how to think about religion,

00:42:11.580 how to think about our relationship to one another, we can still see reality, right? These images still

00:42:17.380 crop up in the end, and when you look at a country that is on fire, literally on fire, where everything

00:42:24.000 we've cherished is being torn down, and then you look at a country of nice smiling people waving the

00:42:28.560 American flag, thanking everyone, coming together, you look at a country of a woman saying, I want my

00:42:34.440 family. I want my country. That is much more appealing. That appeals to us on a base level. We no longer

00:42:40.620 know why that's appealing, because the left has weaponized ignorance for a hundred years,

00:42:45.580 but it does, it is still appealing, and it is incumbent on us, by the way, not just to leave

00:42:49.840 it at that sentimental feeling, not even just to go out and vote for politicians who encourage that

00:42:54.720 sentimental feeling. We must educate ourselves. It's amazing how people who, even if they think

00:43:01.240 they got some elite education, they probably didn't. They probably haven't read The Federalist.

00:43:05.140 You know, the reason right now that I'm in, I'm not in the studio, I'm down, further down in

00:43:09.420 Southern California, is because I'm participating in the Claremont Fellowship, the Lincoln Fellowship,

00:43:13.260 to go back through our founding documents, to go back through the history of our country,

00:43:16.980 figure out what happened, figure out what it means, figure out what has been covered up. A lot of this

00:43:20.940 stuff would have been basic education 50 years ago, but now not even people who go to fancy schools

00:43:26.480 get this kind of thing. It's frankly, especially people who go to fancy schools don't get this kind

00:43:30.540 of education. It is incumbent on us, because what the left is relying on is a sort of weaponized

00:43:36.180 ignorance. And some people, I'll leave you on this note, some people can school the left,

00:43:43.900 even at the political level. We were talking about Ted Wheeler, who's upset about the

00:43:47.400 riots in Portland being used in Trump campaign ads. Kayleigh McEnany called him out for it.

00:43:53.060 Our national heartthrob, Kayleigh McEnany, from the White House press briefing. Take a listen.

00:43:57.760 Finally, one thing I want to leave you guys with is that 18 days ago, Mayor Ted Wheeler tweeted,

00:44:04.980 what I saw last night in Portland was powerful in many ways. I listened, heard, and stood with

00:44:10.240 protesters, and I saw what it means when the federal government unleashes paramilitary forces

00:44:15.280 against its own people. He, in fact, called our federal agents paramilitary forces. And around this

00:44:21.800 same time, our federal officers were facing rioters, barricading officers inside the courthouse,

00:44:27.620 trapping officers inside, launching of commercial-grade fireworks. A federal agent's hand was impaled

00:44:32.960 by planted nails. Three officers were likely, were at least temporarily, I should say, blinded

00:44:40.100 when a laser was put in their eyes. This has been an ongoing tactic by the rioters. That was 18 days

00:44:45.440 ago when Mayor Wheeler stood with the rioters and against the, quote, paramilitary forces. But just four

00:44:51.940 days ago, it appears Mayor Wheeler had a change of heart. It took him 73 days, I suppose, to come up

00:44:58.040 with that realization. It took him a long time. It was only once those videos went viral, once people

00:45:04.360 saw what was really happening, that Wheeler started to push back a little bit. He thought the violence

00:45:10.160 would help him politically. It would intimidate people. It would force people into allowing the

00:45:14.860 left to run roughshod over their cities. But then people started to see it. That's the key here.

00:45:19.800 We are never going to match the left on passion and emotion and insults and screaming and hysteria.

00:45:28.620 We're not going to match. We're outmatched, okay? They are the varsity athletes of that. They are

00:45:33.540 Olympians at shrieking and hysteria. But where we can beat them, where we must beat them, is showing

00:45:40.540 people what's really happening right now, what really happened in 1776, what happened before that,

00:45:44.880 what happened all the way in between. The way we will fight back is giving people the facts. And I

00:45:52.140 think when the facts are out on the table, we're going to look very good. Not just in November, but

00:45:56.920 we'll have a real shot in the future. That's our show. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles
