Ep. 864 -Â Shopping By Race Is Racist
Summary
It's time to stop referring to what has happened over the past year and a half as "CODVID." What happened last year is not because of COVID, it's because of the lockdowns and other measures that cynical and opportunistic politicians implemented using COVID as an excuse.

We need to stop referring to what has happened over the past year and a half as COVID. I've been
00:00:06.260
guilty of it too, but we need to stop it. You know, when people say, oh, we had all of these
00:00:10.600
plans for last year, but then COVID happened, or, oh, yes, that was going all well and good,
00:00:16.840
but then COVID, and so, you know, we couldn't live our lives anymore. What happened last year
00:00:23.640
is not because of COVID, that huge political and social revolution. It is because of the
00:00:31.900
lockdowns and the other measures that cynical and opportunistic politicians implemented using
00:00:38.240
COVID as an excuse, and that's not some wild, crazy conspiracy theory. That is a strategy that
00:00:45.480
we all knew the left was using, even at the time, and that right now, even the White House is admitting.
00:00:50.900
The president wants to make fundamental change in our economy, and he feels coming out of the
00:00:56.460
pandemic is exactly the time to do that. And if we don't do it now, if we don't address
00:01:01.940
the cost of childcare, to go back to Josh's question earlier, if we don't address the climate
00:01:08.060
crisis, if we don't ensure that universal pre-K is a reality now, we're not going to have the same
00:01:15.400
opportunity to do it for some time. We're not going to have the opportunity, and that's what
00:01:20.440
COVID is for the left. It's an opportunity. Sometimes people have called it a great reset.
00:01:26.140
They've called it this major revolution. But it's not the wacky conspiracy theorists. It's the left
00:01:31.680
who is admitting that that's what they're doing. The left never lets a crisis go to waste. Perhaps
00:01:37.260
we ought to learn that lesson. Perhaps we ought to use crises to our political advantage as well.
00:01:42.360
I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles Show.
00:01:51.240
Welcome back to the show. My favorite comment yesterday is from,
00:01:54.260
it ain't like that, bro. We was just texting. That's the name. I like that comment too. But
00:01:59.660
the comment is, quote, the funniest thing is when liberals label you a, quote, conspiracy theorist
00:02:07.220
for calling their plan an agenda right. When you say, hey, look, the libs said they were going to do
00:02:16.140
this thing, and then they are doing this thing, and this is where that thing is going, they call you
00:02:21.880
a conspiracy theorist, even if you're playing their own words against them. That you cannot do. If you
00:02:27.920
ever call out the reality of what they are doing, they will label you as delusional and try to get
00:02:34.160
people to ignore what you're saying. But I think it's time we start paying attention, because the
00:02:38.860
economy in particular is collapsing all around us. And do you know one great way to hedge your
00:02:45.440
investments against those economic crazy times? Acre gold. Despite what you might be seeing in the
00:02:52.280
establishment media and the corporate press right now, everything is not tickety-boo. Actually,
00:02:57.980
prices are all over the place. Inflation is going up. The economy is really in shambles. Good way
00:03:04.140
to hedge your investments against economic craziness is to invest in physical precious metals. Now,
00:03:09.660
I know you're thinking, Michael, all right, I don't got it like that. I don't have the kind of
00:03:13.620
money in my couch cushions to invest in physical gold. What if I told you you can do it for $30
00:03:18.240
per month? Michael, you lie. Calm down. Calm down. I don't lie. Acre gold. It's figured out this
00:03:23.760
ingenious way to invest in physical gold without coming out of pocket all at once. You can do it for
00:03:28.540
as little as $30 a month. You can also get their $100 a month subscription to a $5,000 gold bar. If you
00:03:33.920
want to up the ante, but whatever you want to do, you subscribe. When your gold stash reaches the
00:03:38.740
price of their gold bars, they will discreetly ship Acre gold to your door. Make sure you check
00:03:44.300
this out today. You can do it by going to getacregold.com slash Knowles. Start investing in
00:03:50.200
physical gold today. Make sure you go to that URL because Acre is giving away a gold bar. To qualify
00:03:56.300
for the giveaway, tweet or post why you should be the recipient and mention at get underscore
00:04:00.400
Acre. Go check it out right now. Getacregold.com slash Knowles. And thank you, Acregold, for
00:04:06.340
supporting the show. What more evidence do we need? You have the White House coming out. And this,
00:04:13.220
by the way, poor Jen Psaki was getting in this exchange with a reporter. She's got a lot to
00:04:20.200
defend right now. And a lot of what she has to defend is indefensible. The border collapsing,
00:04:24.900
turmoil, let's go Brandon chants happening all over the country, nay, all over the world,
00:04:30.780
and the economy falling apart. And she says, look, look, we're trying to completely upend the economy.
00:04:36.040
We're trying to reorder society. All right. We've got to do it now. This is a once in a lifetime
00:04:40.740
opportunity. So cut us a little bit of slack. Oopsie daisy. Was I supposed to say that? Whoopsie.
00:04:45.900
Did I say the quiet part out loud? Because what has COVID represented? Yes, it has represented
00:04:53.060
this mass hysteria over all segments of society for a virus that has a very, very low infection
00:05:01.020
mortality rate, or infection fatality rate, rather. Yes, it represents a reordering of political rights.
00:05:08.900
Yes, it's a massive power grab from the bureaucracy taking away lots of liberties that we once had.
00:05:14.820
But let's not forget the economic aspect. This COVID lockdown phenomenon has been the largest
00:05:23.620
transfer of wealth from the lower and middle classes to a select few very wealthy, powerful people
00:05:31.380
in our nation's history. Maybe well beyond our nation's history. Just consider Amazon. Just consider
00:05:40.620
your own behavior with Amazon. We now, and for the past year and a half, have accelerated the trend
00:05:47.580
of ordering every freaking thing in the world from Amazon. So much so that there's a book paper shortage
00:05:54.700
going on right now because people are using so much more cardboard. Because now instead of going down
00:06:00.280
the street to the store to order, I don't know, to go buy a box of Q-tips or something, even that you're
00:06:04.300
going to order from Amazon. Right? A major transfer of wealth from small businesses to these much larger
00:06:11.200
conglomerates that can deal with the world being shut down for a year and a half. And those corporations
00:06:17.460
have a radical social agenda. I just saw this the other day. Just came to my attention on Amazon. Do you
00:06:25.100
know that on Amazon you can shop by the identity, the political identities of the business owners?
00:06:35.660
What I mean by that is if you go on Amazon right now, you can type in black owned business. Just
00:06:41.260
type it right into the search bar and a big banner will come up and it will say shop at businesses owned
00:06:45.940
by black people. Now, what does this mean? I don't know. Does this mean that black people need to own a
00:06:50.440
50%, 51% maybe, or 50% plus one vote stake in the business? What about, what if it's 49% owned by
00:06:58.540
white people, but 51% owned by black people? Is it still a black owned business? I don't know. Maybe
00:07:03.280
you can go to the Amazon shop by category page and see they've got links for black owned businesses.
00:07:10.260
They've got links for women owned businesses. So I was looking through, I said, okay, this is very,
00:07:15.380
very woke. Uh, what happens if I want to shop at a straight white guy owned businesses? I don't,
00:07:20.980
look, I don't have any particular impulse to shop at straight white guy owned businesses,
00:07:25.360
but what if I did? This is the new rule. You're allowed to, to pick where you're going to shop
00:07:30.020
based on the identity of the owner. Okay. Do, do, do. So I type it in and you'll be shocked to find out
00:07:34.820
it doesn't come up. And then you look on the page, the shop by category page. It's nowhere to be found
00:07:40.620
because that would be racist. If you go to a white owned business page, that's racist. If you go to
00:07:47.460
a black owned business page, very not racist, anti-racist actually. If you go to a man owned
00:07:54.080
business page, sexist woman owned business page, not sexist. Of course that is incoherent. Either
00:08:03.380
they both are racist or neither is racist. Either they both are sexist or neither is sexist. And what
00:08:08.240
it leads to is something that we've seen increasingly, which is an official policy of
00:08:14.080
that much maligned straight white guy as the worst type of person who has ever existed of,
00:08:20.200
of white people in particular, but with some other groups as well, officially as second class citizens
00:08:25.500
and with men officially as second class citizens. The clearest place of course, to see this is at
00:08:31.040
university admissions, which is that if you are a white guy or an Asian guy, for some reason,
00:08:37.380
you will be disadvantaged. You will be put in a lower category if you're applying to university
00:08:43.960
than if you're a black person or an Hispanic person. If you're a man, you will be put in a
00:08:49.520
lower, especially if you're a straight guy, you'll be put in a lower category. You will be disadvantaged
00:08:54.400
than if you are a woman or you can claim some other kind of victim status. But that is a social
00:09:00.740
hierarchy. There you are saying certain people are going to get certain things. And this process,
00:09:06.900
that we are in right now, this radical social transformation is accelerating that. We're all
00:09:12.080
guilty of it. But when you shop at places like Amazon, you are accelerating that trend. Now,
00:09:17.800
what is the answer? Is the answer just never to shop at Amazon? I don't even think that's really
00:09:21.860
feasible. Amazon just has too much power. So I don't think we need to say, let's go knock down Amazon
00:09:27.080
or never shop there again. But what we need to do is wield political power to stop this stuff.
00:09:31.580
Because I don't want to live in a world where we are defined by these radical social sexual and
00:09:38.000
racial hierarchies. And we are in. I mean, the one thing Jen Psaki is getting right here is this is a
00:09:45.000
once in a lifetime opportunity. The economy is being reordered. Just in August, we have got from CNBC
00:09:53.040
a report of a record 4.3 million workers quitting their jobs. And what we are told, by the way,
00:10:01.860
is that when 4.3 million workers quit their jobs, even with a labor shortage, right? There's an 11
00:10:08.540
million person labor shortage going on right now. When all these workers quit their jobs,
00:10:12.820
it's a sign of economic strength. That's actually how the left is trying to spin this. Because they say,
00:10:18.820
look, people are quitting their jobs because they're not worried about getting another job. Well,
00:10:23.140
sure, we're in a labor shortage right now. But why are they really quitting their jobs? Might it have
00:10:27.240
anything to do with the powers that be, the ruling class, telling people not to work and then telling
00:10:34.780
people that if they don't get an experimental drug for a virus that for most people doesn't pose a grave
00:10:39.420
threat to them, they're going to be fine. They're going to lose their jobs. And then telling employers
00:10:44.100
to fine, that they're going to have to pay fines if the workers don't comply. And then also the
00:10:49.460
government paying people not to work for months and months, well over a year now on end. Might it
00:10:55.720
have anything to do with that? And why is the government doing that? Is it sheer incompetence?
00:11:00.860
I don't think so. Is it out of the goodness of their heart? I don't think so. Do you remember a few
00:11:04.640
years ago when Marco Rubio glitched out during that debate and he said, we must dispel with this
00:11:09.640
fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing? He knows exactly what he's doing. And Chris
00:11:12.480
Christie called him out. And it was kind of the end of Marco's presidential campaign. Well, he was
00:11:17.680
right. He had a point. We need to dispel with the fiction that the left is incompetent, that poor
00:11:21.960
Biden is just incompetent. He doesn't know what he's doing. These people know exactly what they're
00:11:25.680
doing. They're using a crisis to their advantage. And we on the right are letting them do it.
00:11:33.640
Southwest Airlines has been at the epicenter of this economic turmoil over the past few days. And it's
00:11:41.860
because on Sunday, we covered it on Monday, on Sunday, a thousand flights get canceled for Southwest.
00:11:49.480
And the day before that, it was a whole lot of flights were canceled. And the day after that, a whole lot of
00:11:53.740
flights were canceled. And Southwest Airlines officially said it was because of weather. But I don't know
00:11:59.000
about you. Sunday was perfectly beautiful where I was. I don't think there were any major storm systems that
00:12:04.100
moved in. Some other airlines didn't have a problem. And over the ensuing days, what came out was that
00:12:11.680
there was a sick in, that there were pilots and notably air traffic controllers in places that were
00:12:19.500
in particular affecting Southwest that called in sick because they didn't want to comply with the
00:12:25.780
vaccine mandate. And so what are you going to do? You've got a vaccine mandate at the level of the
00:12:31.820
federal government, right? So that could affect the air traffic controllers. That's a direct mandate
00:12:36.480
saying, get the vaccine or lose your job. But then you've got the cowardly, Byzantine, complicated
00:12:44.000
vaccine mandate that Barack Obama, that Joe Biden instituted on the employees of companies with more
00:12:52.180
than 100 employees. And that was by ordering the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to order
00:12:57.580
the companies with these, this number of employees to order the employees to take the vaccine or the
00:13:03.620
companies would have to pay $14,000 fines. Now the fine has actually been increased a whole lot more.
00:13:08.180
And so over the ensuing days, Southwest sort of came clean and the CEO went on TV and said, look,
00:13:13.860
I hate the mandate. The only reason I'm pushing the mandate on my employees is because Joe Biden is
00:13:18.580
making me and we can't afford to pay these gazillion dollar fines every single time we are caught
00:13:23.580
violating the mandates. And that's half true. Okay. But it's not totally true. It's yes, Joe Biden
00:13:32.140
started this. He instituted this, or he, he made this ridiculous proclamation that all of these
00:13:37.860
companies are going to have to go along with the vaccine mandate, but they're not actually enforcing
00:13:42.960
that right now. OSHA, that agency that was tasked with doing it, hasn't even really issued the formal
00:13:47.860
rules. Basically it was just a big press event. It's like a big press release. And I think what it
00:13:56.040
did in effect was give woke CEOs some cover to demand that their employees take the vaccine while
00:14:03.940
being able to blame it on Joe Biden. Now, I don't think that the CEO of Southwest is necessarily a
00:14:08.900
big woke guy. They've actually done some pretty conservative things in the past. So I'm not, not
00:14:13.060
really accusing him of that, but I think it is a wake up call for, for other companies here.
00:14:19.240
You don't need to go along with this. Look at us. Okay. I don't want to toot our own horn here at
00:14:23.620
the daily wire, but when that, when that, uh, mandate came out, what did, what did the daily wire say?
00:14:31.840
Jeremy Boring, the God King here at the daily wire went on the air and he had three words for Joe
00:14:37.200
Biden. And those words were not let's go Brandon. Actually those words were let's go Brandon. They were the
00:14:41.780
true meaning of let's go Brandon. We said, no, thank you, buddy. We're not going to comply with
00:14:46.280
this. Sue us, take us to court. We hired a bunch of lawyers and look, if we were a, we're the fastest
00:14:51.700
growing conservative media company in the country, but we have relatively limited resources compared
00:14:57.220
with an entity like Southwest airlines or any of these other large entities. So if we can lawyer up
00:15:02.520
and we can stand firm, why can't you? I actually think that these other companies can, and I don't
00:15:07.840
want them just passing the buck onto Joe Biden. The CEOs need to stand up. If you're not going to do
00:15:13.360
it now, when are you going to do it? This is a generational opportunity that, that the left
00:15:18.020
sees and they're going to try to take full advantage of it. And they're even bragging about it now from
00:15:21.540
the white house. And so they've got to stand up and they've got to, they've got to have the courage
00:15:27.220
to defend the rights of their employees. And don't blame Joe Biden if you're not going to do it.
00:15:32.900
Yeah. Joe Biden is a, not a great guy and he's doing a lot of terrible things, but what are you
00:15:38.620
doing? Business owners? What are you doing? CEOs? It was, it was encouraging to see the Southwest CEO
00:15:45.860
go on TV and say, it's all Biden's fault in a certain sense, because it shows that even in our
00:15:50.460
corrupt culture, these powerful people can still turn on Joe Biden because they're feeling the heat
00:15:58.120
from their own guys, but we need to see a lot more of that. Otherwise the left is going to succeed
00:16:04.480
at radically changing our world as a result of COVID. CNN right now is, is referring to the time before
00:16:12.920
the COVID lockdowns as I kid you not, the before times, capital B, capital T. I don't know how many
00:16:22.640
of you are history buffs, but in our civilization, traditionally the way that we refer to the
00:16:28.720
dating, you know, to, to the years in our calendar is with a BC referring to the time before Christ
00:16:37.140
and AD, the anno domini, the year, the year of our Lord, right? That's the traditional way. And then
00:16:44.660
the libs came in and the atheists, and they said, no, how dare you? We can't refer to Christ, this,
00:16:52.080
the central figure in our civilization and in the entire cosmos. We can't refer, that would be very
00:16:58.900
wrong. So we're going to refer to the common era. So then they, then they thought this was very clever
00:17:03.280
because they could change BC to BCE. This is before the common era and then after the common era, but
00:17:09.360
no, we've gotten even crazier than that stupid dating. We're now into the B, B-T and A-T, I don't
00:17:16.740
know, the before times and the after times. What CNN tweeted was, quote, if you hoped grocery stores
00:17:22.260
this fall and winter would look like they did in the before times with limitless options stretching
00:17:27.060
out before you in the snack, drink, candy, and frozen foods aisles, get ready for some disappointing
00:17:33.040
news. It's not going to happen. And it's, they're blaming it on supply chain and it's, and it's all
00:17:37.780
because of, because of COVID. It's not because of COVID. The, the time before the lockdowns does
00:17:43.640
not need to be the absolutely unrelatable before times. And the time we're living in now doesn't
00:17:49.020
need to be radically different because of COVID. COVID relative to other scourges that humanity has
00:17:55.380
faced is just not that big, a freaking deal. I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I'm not saying it
00:18:01.940
doesn't pose a threat, especially to some people, but relative to other problems that our world has
00:18:06.660
faced, I don't know, bubonic plague, or I don't know, smallpox even, or I don't, wars. It's just
00:18:14.080
not that big, a freaking deal relative to those other issues. Certainly not so much so that we need
00:18:21.800
to say that this is the defining event in our civilization's history, but it can be that big
00:18:30.380
a deal. It can be that big a deal if we allow it to. I think that if the left has its druthers,
00:18:37.780
then 2019 and all the years before that will just seem so different. Oh my gosh, back in those days,
00:18:44.660
we used to drive a lot of places. We used to go into work. We used to see each other. Can you imagine
00:18:49.400
going and seeing each other's faces and smiling, breathing the same filthy air that the peasants
00:18:55.120
would breathe? Oh, those were crazy before times when you would see people and not just have everyone
00:18:59.500
walk around muzzled all the time. When you would go into an office building, go into a school building,
00:19:04.260
and actually interact with one. Oh, crazy before times. Thankfully now, though, we all live in our
00:19:08.220
pods and eat the bugs and just give all of our money to a handful of oligarchs who control speech,
00:19:14.060
who control our elections, who control, oh, that's so much better. Do you know we used to go vote on
00:19:19.840
election day in our republic? Oh my goodness, in the crazy before times. Now we just fill in, mail in votes
00:19:25.740
with no verification and we trust the ruling class to conduct fair elections. When even Barack Obama
00:19:31.060
admitted to us a few years before we went into the post before times that that would pose a great
00:19:37.160
threat to election integrity. Oh yes, but we live in a much better time right now. We're seeing this
00:19:43.340
happen all around us. It is this grab of power. These people using this moment as an opportunity
00:19:53.600
to reorder society. There's a story. I'm going to get to it a little bit more tomorrow. We don't have
00:19:58.260
a ton of time to get into it today, but Stephen Crowder just texted me, so I feel that I ought to
00:20:03.240
mention it. They're censoring Crowder again. And they always censor Crowder. And you might say,
00:20:08.100
well, it's because Crowder, you know, look, he's an edgy comedian. And he'll, yeah, he's a comedian.
00:20:12.800
That's the definition of a comedian. They push boundaries. They get a little subversive
00:20:16.600
sometimes. But the reason they went after Crowder this time is because he was pushing a hateful,
00:20:23.320
violent idea. Do you know what the idea was? The idea was that transgender bathroom policies might
00:20:30.260
not be all that great for some people. And do you know why he pushed that idea? Because of a story
00:20:36.640
that the Daily Wire broke. Because we said a year ago that we were going to hire investigative
00:20:42.080
journalists, we were not just going to reinterpret stories from the left-wing investigative outlets
00:20:46.720
and take away the bias and actually present the facts. But we were going to go investigate our own
00:20:51.220
stories and cover stories that the left doesn't even want to publish. And we just broke a story
00:20:56.480
that a girl, a teenage girl, was allegedly very, very viciously and violently raped in a bathroom by a
00:21:05.660
man who would occasionally wear a skirt in a place where now boys are allowed to go in the girls' room
00:21:11.280
because of the so-called compassionate transgender policies. And this was considered violent. Not
00:21:16.060
because of the violent act that happened to this teenage girl. Violent because we suggested that
00:21:19.980
maybe boys shouldn't, or that Crowder suggested rather, maybe boys shouldn't go into the girls' room.
00:21:23.860
You're not going to see a lot from Crowder in the coming week because of that. These are the people
00:21:28.980
who are controlling our society. We're going to have to talk to Crowder this week, next week. I mean,
00:21:34.460
he's going to be off for a little while. We'll cover it a little bit more tomorrow. But in the
00:21:39.820
meantime, we've got to take a very quick break. You know, we had a great time the other night at the
00:21:43.140
Ryman Auditorium. It was a fabulous backstage at one of the most legendary concert halls in the United
00:21:50.800
States. We also dropped some extremely exciting news. The Daily Wire has a ton of new projects in the
00:21:57.280
works. We had been keeping them a little bit under wraps, but now they are out. We're pleased to
00:22:02.100
announce that we have officially dropped the teaser trailer for Shut In. This is Daily Wire's first
00:22:07.060
original production. You know, we had released our first movie that had already been shot, and we
00:22:11.640
acquired it and distributed it. That was Run, Hide, Fight. Well, now we've got our first original
00:22:16.100
production, Shut In. The film follows a young mother who's barricaded inside a pantry by her violent
00:22:20.980
ex-boyfriend and must use her ingenuity to protect her two small children from escalating danger
00:22:25.960
while finding an escape. Here is a quick 60-second look into a thriller that you are not going to
00:22:32.880
Lady? I told you, I need to see you at all times. Do you understand me? Well, I'm going
00:22:37.880
to take off tonight so the kids can sleep most of the way. Well, I'm mostly done. I just need
00:22:43.880
to finish cleaning out the pantry. Lady? Lady? Mommy, someone's here.
00:23:32.680
Very very intense. We also want to share with you a message from the fearless Gina Carano
00:23:37.680
whom I love. Talk about standing up and thumbing your nose and not allowing yourself to be pushed
00:23:43.680
around by very corrupt left-wing people. Gina is talking about her new Daily Wire movie, Terror
00:23:48.680
Terror on the Prairie, which just started production this week. Take a look.
00:24:18.680
Right now, so I can't wait for you guys to see it. We're going to work hard.
00:24:23.300
After we announced our first project this summer, the Hollywood Union started debating vaccine mandates for Cast and Crew, and I wasn't into that.
00:24:32.220
I don't believe anybody gets to make your medical choices for you, and I'm not willing to force masks and vaccines on anyone else.
00:24:41.160
Thank you to all the Dayloire members. You guys have been an extended family.
00:24:44.780
Thank you to everybody for making this possible. Without you, I don't know where I'd be right now, and right now there's no other place I'd rather be.
00:24:54.260
So I hope everybody is doing well. Keep fighting. Stick together. We got this. Never give up.

00:25:21.440
A school in England has banned the terms good and bad.
00:25:40.920
This sounds like an Onion headline or a Babylon Bee headline. It's not.
00:25:45.520
They have banned the terms good and bad to describe student behavior because the headmaster wants to remove, quote,
00:25:53.780
emotional words from classroom management. This is at Lowborough Amherst School.
00:26:00.160
They are now told to describe student behavior, which is either good or bad, as skillful or unskillful.
00:26:07.440
The headmaster, Dr. Julian Murphy, says the policy, which he took, I'm not joking, he took the policy from Buddhism,
00:26:15.620
was, quote, designed to take the emotional heat out of our language.
00:26:20.340
Dr. Murphy said he did not want teachers to go soft, but he doesn't want them to be shouty either.
00:26:26.260
And he especially doesn't want pupils to feel guilty.
00:26:38.840
You know, come on, you can't say that something's good.
00:26:41.460
What if what you think is good actually someone else thinks is bad?
00:26:47.440
We need to use these less emotional terms, skillful or unskillful.
00:26:51.520
Now, there's one big problem with this, which is namely that bad students can be very skillful at being bad.
00:26:59.300
You know, dirty, rotten students can be really skillful at being rotten.
00:27:06.520
The kid who was a jerk in class, who was always telling jokes, he was very skillful at telling jokes and distracting the class.
00:27:13.360
Kids who, I don't know, they commit crimes, they steal things, they pick fights, they perform violent acts in school bathrooms,
00:27:22.060
as we just saw in Loudoun County, the story that we just broke.
00:27:27.260
It actually does require skill to steal and to commit acts of violence and to do all sorts of bad things.
00:27:35.200
What the left is trying to do here, what the school is trying to do here in England is they're trying to apply scientific materialism.
00:27:45.580
They're trying to apply the modern notions of utilitarianism, of efficiency, really of science, to moral questions.
00:28:03.880
Because we don't want people to sound, to feel guilty.
00:28:10.300
I think it's human psychology, even when you're an adult.
00:28:12.680
If you make people feel guilty, then you get angry.
00:28:14.880
And then actually, that's when you're likely to play the blame game and not to work that well.
00:28:19.420
That's when things get into a bit of a vicious circle.
00:28:22.220
So the reason that we have problems and the reason that people do bad things, according to this headmaster, is because people feel guilty.
00:28:32.600
I think the reason that people do bad things is, one, because they don't feel guilty.
00:28:40.320
Or, two, because they are not made to be held to account for their feelings of guilt and shame.
00:28:46.700
It is very important to have a sense of shame and guilt and sin.
00:29:06.520
It lets you know when you're going down the wrong path.
00:29:14.380
We ought to have a society where people feel a greater sense of shame.
00:29:17.960
The whole point of education is to teach people not to follow their basest appetites and passions and do whatever they want.
00:29:25.360
It's actually, the whole point of education is to help cultivate a sense of shame in people.
00:29:31.580
Because education is not just learning a few facts from a history book.
00:29:36.420
It's bringing up the whole person and making them capable of their freedom.
00:29:42.720
And a whole lot of that is cultivating a sense of shame and saying, don't do that.
00:29:54.560
But the left, broadly, does not want to cultivate free citizens.
00:29:58.480
Because free citizens are really hard to control.
00:30:01.120
They want to encourage you to run away with your sexual appetites or your, whatever, your food appetites, your drink appetites, your entertainment appetites.
00:30:10.960
They want these things to run away and master you so that they, who are pulling a lot of these levers, will find it easier to control you and to control the political order.
00:30:23.480
Getting back to the comment at the top of the show.
00:30:30.540
The radical theorists on the left who developed our current political orthodoxies, they write about this a lot.
00:30:38.400
It's the way they've attained cultural hegemony.
00:30:47.640
The San Antonio Spurs coach, Greg Popovich, he just said one of the dumbest things I think that I've ever heard.
00:30:55.300
I can't believe how much sports I have to watch these days.
00:31:00.320
I don't think I'm shocking anybody when I say that.
00:31:04.800
And when they went woke last year, I canceled my subscription.
00:31:06.880
But now I've got to watch football because of Gruden.
00:31:11.640
I've got to watch basketball because of this guy Popovich.
00:31:15.520
Greg Popovich seems to believe that if you honor Christopher Columbus, who some of us honored this week,
00:31:23.240
that's no different than a German celebrating Hitler.
00:31:26.020
Indigenous Peoples Day slash Columbus Day, Columbus, I mean, he initiated a New World Genocide.
00:31:56.720
You know, maybe there's something I'm missing and I'm ignorant.
00:31:59.360
But it makes me feel like they're living in a phone booth.
00:32:13.360
You know, it's like saying we should be proud of Hitler because we're German.
00:32:22.820
So there's one thing that this guy said that was true, which is maybe I'm ignorant and maybe I don't know anything.
00:32:31.540
And I think he probably spent most of his school years dribbling.
00:32:36.720
But he clearly didn't pay a lot of attention in history class.
00:32:39.700
I'm not going to rehash the arguments over Columbus.
00:32:41.680
Columbus was a great guy who did a lot of great things, notably bringing Christianity to the Western Hemisphere.
00:32:46.760
He's accused of doing a lot of things that he never did.
00:32:49.280
And by the way, for a lot of the indigenous peoples that were here, their culture wasn't all that great to begin with, notably the cannibalism and the human sacrifice.
00:32:56.720
Some people were good people to invoke the former president.
00:33:02.340
But Columbus was far less bad and far more good than people give him credit for.
00:33:09.560
And the indigenous peoples had some pretty horrifying demonic practices that Columbus and the Spaniards who came after him put an end to, rightly so.
00:33:22.620
The angle is this celebrating Columbus, if you're an Italian, is like a German celebrating Hitler, which means that Columbus and Hitler are the same person.
00:33:31.840
Because you've got the Italian people, you've got the German people, and they're both admiring these guys, and so these guys are comparable, right?
00:33:42.180
It's this new angle to say that the person, Christopher Columbus, who is responsible for bringing our civilization to the new world, is evil.
00:33:51.440
The embodiment, in many ways, of Western civilization is evil, meaning the civilization itself is evil.
00:34:00.180
And when we talk about all these radical theorists who developed this stuff, I know sometimes people are skeptical.
00:34:07.560
And they say, Michael, how on earth does some radical Marxist in his ivory tower at Harvard University, you're telling me that that guy, because he wrote some ridiculous book that no one has ever really read, that is affecting our whole culture?
00:34:21.700
Yes, it does have downstream effects in our culture, even to the point that this ignorant basketball coach is spouting the lies being pushed by radical academics and polemicists, including, in this case, someone like Howard Zinn, who is a revisionist historian.
00:34:42.060
It does have effects all the way down the line.
00:34:45.160
The left has taken its once-in-a-generation opportunities every time they pop up over every single generation, and they've used it to great political effect, and we have not, and that's to our disadvantage.
00:35:00.720
Now, speaking of famous painters, how's that for a segue?
00:35:09.580
Hunter Biden has given up his life of crime, apparently, and drugs and hookers and selling his father's influence and selling out the United States.
00:35:21.020
Now he's making his money in an honest way by selling his scribbles for half a million dollars.
00:35:26.240
It would seem that some of the art collectors are not so interested in the doodles of this degenerate Hunter Biden, but they perhaps are trying to buy some influence with the president of the United States.
00:35:35.180
So Joe Biden was just asked about this by a reporter, and he brushes it off.
00:35:41.900
President Biden, are you concerned about potential corruption with your son's arms?
00:35:54.180
It's a little bit hard to hear in this clip because Biden basically doesn't break his stride.
00:35:59.960
And this is almost more offensive than Hunter Biden actually peddling the influence, as he did not just now, but for many, many years.
00:36:13.280
The big guy's going to take a little cut off the top?
00:36:16.420
Of course, of course my son's going to sell my name and sell out the country for half a million dollars per scribble.
00:36:23.480
I'm not even going to dignify that with a response.
00:36:25.140
And the corporate media won't dignify that with a response.
00:36:33.360
It represents how dispirited we are in the ordinary American people who feel discouraged and dispirited like we can't even speak out against this kind of thing.
00:36:45.700
Just detouring back to Columbus for a quick second.
00:36:48.380
Elizabeth Warren, on Monday, Elizabeth Warren, Liawatha herself, had the gall to wish people a happy Indigenous Peoples Day, as if she had not built her career lying about being a Native American.
00:37:05.380
She goes, quote, I'm glad to stand with tribal nations and Native communities as we celebrate their remarkable contributions, cultures, and resilience on Indigenous Peoples Day.
00:37:13.400
It's time the federal government also honors its promises to Native peoples.
00:37:16.360
So, first of all, there's a tacit acknowledgement in the first sentence that she is not Native American, as she claimed for decades.
00:37:23.140
She says, I'm glad to stand with tribal nations and Native communities.
00:37:29.220
I thought you were the person to be stood with.
00:37:31.940
I didn't know that you were the person doing the stand.
00:37:37.440
She says it as if she had not gotten her whole career pretending to be a Native American, very possibly taking jobs from actual Native American people who are given preferential treatment in our hiring process and in our school admission process because there is an officially, legally imposed racial hierarchy that says that some people are good, notably black people and to some degree Hispanic people and Native American people, and some people are bad, white people and Asian people.
00:38:09.120
Because the Asians have white privilege or something like that.
00:38:19.960
And we are not really allowed to say boo about it.
00:38:25.180
You know, I saw this firsthand last night at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
00:38:32.780
So, if you're watching this show right now, instead of just listening to it, you'll notice that I'm not in my usual studio.
00:38:40.520
The reason for this is I'm on the road with Senator Ted Cruz.
00:38:43.320
We're here taking our verdict show live on the road.
00:38:46.800
We were scheduled to go to University of Wisconsin-Madison last night.
00:39:00.220
And then we're going to go to Catholic University in D.C. next week.
00:39:04.020
So, the tour began with this really big hiccup.
00:39:07.880
Namely, the University of Wisconsin-Madison didn't want us to come.
00:39:13.200
And so, in the past, when the lib schools have wanted to kick out conservatives, they have made up bogus reasons, security reasons.
00:39:21.140
They would kind of go in and stop the students from reserving lecture halls.
00:39:25.280
And they'd be at least a little bit subtle about it.
00:39:30.760
So, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the administrators of that school, the provost of that school, came out and they said,
00:39:37.540
not only do all the students need to be masked in the audience, which is ridiculous, and we were pushing back on that to begin with.
00:39:44.360
They said, actually, you, Michael, and you, Ted Cruz, need to be masked while you're speaking.
00:39:50.960
You need to muzzle yourselves during the event while you're on stage.
00:40:05.760
If you're putting on an education-related arts performance, that was one exemption in particular.
00:40:10.080
They've given this exemption to liberals who have come to the campus in recent weeks and months.
00:40:15.500
But they won't give the exemption to me or to Ted Cruz.
00:40:19.260
Shows you where power really lies in this country.
00:40:22.100
Because I'm not saying that I'm, I am necessarily the most powerful politician in this country, right?
00:40:32.560
Going to give an educational lecture with an educational organization at a publicly funded, taxpayer funded university in Wisconsin.
00:40:49.360
Ted Cruz, as mainstream a guy as you can possibly get, was very nearly the Republican nominee for president in 2016.
00:41:04.300
So, we threw some really great stuff that YAF and our team over at Verdict and Senator Cruz's team were able to pull off.
00:41:13.160
The school still didn't want to release the guest list to us.
00:41:15.220
They didn't want us even to be able to be in contact with the people who were going to go.
00:41:18.160
Proves to you it had nothing to do with campus health.
00:41:22.180
But we were able still to bring hundreds and hundreds of people to our event last night.
00:41:27.960
But it shows you how dispiriting these things can be because the left has the power and they're not afraid of anyone.
00:41:37.380
This punk provost is not even afraid of a sitting United States senator willing to try to shut them up as well.
00:41:44.160
Even on the left, obviously we notice that this happens when the left tries to shut us up on the right and YouTube is doing it right now to Stephen Crowder and to a lesser degree to me.
00:41:54.720
You know, and the universities are doing it to conservatives.
00:41:57.620
But the left does it to other leftists when the left wing people contradict the narrative.
00:42:04.440
Katie Couric, the very left wing former anchor of the Today Show, has just revealed reportedly in her memoir Going There that she edited out a comment that Ruth Bader Ginsburg made.
00:42:19.180
The notorious RBG had made regarding the athlete kneeling protests.
00:42:25.960
So when this all started with Colin Kaepernick and disrespecting the American flag and not standing for the star-spangled banner,
00:42:34.080
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the late left wing justice, was asked by Katie Couric what she thought about it.
00:42:39.680
And she said the people who kneel for the anthem are showing, quote,
00:42:42.940
contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life.
00:42:50.840
This is not the first time that Katie Couric has edited out comments that were inconvenient to her leftist narrative.
00:42:56.420
She did this in a documentary that she made about guns.
00:42:59.500
She deceptively edited it to make it seem as though she was asking a question and had stumped the pro-gun people.
00:43:06.600
She had, like, just took totally different clips, completely out of context, and spliced them up so it looked like she had asked the person a simple question about guns and gun rights.
00:43:15.160
And then the gun person said, you know, duh, I don't know, and was, like, scratching their head.
00:43:24.060
And why did Katie Couric take out Ruth Ginsburg's obviously correct answer about the national anthem?
00:43:30.000
Well, Katie Couric says it's because the justice was elderly, quote, unquote, and probably didn't fully understand the question.
00:43:40.620
So Katie Couric, just to be kind to RBG, took that out.
00:43:43.960
No, I think Ruth Ginsburg actually did understand the question.
00:43:46.820
So Ruth Ginsburg is, on the one hand, the most brilliant, wonderful, serious, tough, jurist, single-handedly saving the republic, so strong.
00:43:56.440
Do you remember they made that ridiculous, several ridiculous documentaries about her, showing her doing push-ups, you know, and they would have some really fit physical trainer.
00:44:05.960
And he would say, oh, wow, I can barely keep up with her.
00:44:08.560
Oh, she's so fit and nimble and she's so smart.
00:44:11.060
But then the minute she goes off the reservation, oh, no, she's frail.
00:44:16.180
It would be elder abuse, basically, to put her clear and articulate and correct answer in this.
00:44:27.620
So it just shows you that not even the left's icons have the power to contradict the ruling class.
00:44:34.800
All that crap about the notorious RBG and, oh, yeah, you go, girl, and, wow, yes, slay queen.
00:44:47.460
She's no, I mean, I guess now they'll use her memory.
00:44:49.720
But they just, all of these people, whether they're celebrities, they're in sports, they're in Hollywood, they're in the government,
00:45:04.480
And so, yes, they'll exploit people and they'll exploit events and they'll exploit the coronavirus to totally remake society.
00:45:11.280
But they've got that clear goal in mind and they are not going to change course just because one of their own says so
00:45:19.240
or just because the economy goes in a certain direction or just because the Constitution says so.
00:45:23.820
The only way they're going to change course is if we win political power and we stop them.
