00:00:37.720 The White House is finally opening up.

00:00:40.400 They are finally talking about it.

00:00:42.420 The most significant, widespread phenomenon to hit the country all year.

00:00:48.160 The White House is finally addressing the social contagion of Let's Go Brandon.

00:00:54.600 One last question, if I can quickly.

00:00:56.200 Across this country, we've seen this new phenomenon lately, chanted at sporting events and on signs.

00:01:01.920 The phrase is, let's go Brandon, a sort of code for a profane slogan attacking President Biden.

00:01:07.620 What does the president make of that?

00:01:09.540 I don't think he spends much time focused on it or thinking about it.

00:01:13.360 He doesn't spend much time thinking about that.

00:01:17.100 Maybe he should spend a little time thinking about it.

00:01:19.840 Maybe if he spent a little more time thinking about why tens of thousands of people at every

00:01:25.620 game and concert in the country have for weeks been telling Brandon to go-go himself.

00:01:32.220 Maybe then his approval numbers wouldn't be at historic lows and setting the stage for a

00:01:37.740 potentially historic drubbing in the midterm elections.

00:01:41.520 Welcome back to the show.

00:01:51.360 My favorite comment on Friday is from Real Life Outdoors who says,

00:01:55.320 you know what the best part of this whole Rittenhouse trial is?

00:01:58.340 Nothing.

00:01:59.220 Absolutely nothing.

00:02:00.820 Remember the day when you realized that you live in a Kafka novel.

00:02:04.580 That's true.

00:02:05.700 What's the silver lining here?

00:02:07.080 I get, look, something has to be the best part, even if it's just terrible, right?

00:02:11.700 What's the best part of, you know, getting a flat tire?

00:02:15.820 I don't know.

00:02:16.200 At least it's not raining or something.

00:02:17.700 And here, at least it looks like Rittenhouse might get off the hook.

00:02:22.500 But I agree.

00:02:23.580 The fact that this trial can happen in the first place is an indictment of the country

00:02:29.120 and it really overshadows whatever that silver lining is going to be.

00:02:34.200 We got to think of the good old days, those happy memories.

00:03:57.460 The numbers for the Democrats are devastating.

00:04:03.280 Okay.

00:04:03.940 And we always say, well, maybe I don't believe the polls.

00:04:06.660 Maybe the polls are slanted.

00:04:08.020 Right.

00:04:08.220 The polls are slanted for Democrats.

00:04:10.000 So the fact that the numbers are this bad for Democrats means they're even actually worse

00:04:14.460 for Democrats in reality than are reflected in the surveys.

00:04:17.620 Washington Post ABC poll.

00:04:19.720 If the midterm elections were held today, the GOP would be in an historic,

00:04:24.440 strong position.

00:04:26.680 Right now, this poll, this was released on Sunday, found that if the midterms were held

00:04:31.240 today, registered voters would vote for Republicans for Congress over Democrats by a 10 point margin,

00:04:38.400 51% to 41%.

00:04:40.180 WAPO calls this, and quote, historically strong result for Republicans.

00:04:46.920 Biden's approval rating.

00:04:48.420 So this is just focused on the president.

00:04:52.100 It's 12 points underwater.

00:04:54.380 Only 41% of registered voters approve of the job he has done as president.

00:04:59.680 53% disapprove of the job he has done.

00:05:03.200 Brutal news for Democrats.

00:05:05.660 But don't get too excited.

00:05:08.340 I promise you the GOP will find some way to squander this.

00:05:13.380 Okay.

00:05:13.920 The Republican Party will find some way to squander this huge advantage they have right now.

00:05:21.720 They're going to make it about socialism or some other nonsense.

00:05:26.180 They're going to take all of this historic momentum and support and the grassroots movement

00:05:31.860 on the ground to protect kids in schools and to get the CRT and the transgender theories 0.91

00:05:37.180 out of schools.

00:05:37.860 They're going to find a way to squander it and make this about corporate tax cuts. 0.92

00:05:42.100 Okay.

00:05:42.560 Now, are they going to so squander their advantage that they actually lose the election?

00:05:48.660 Probably not, but they will figure out some way to screw this up.

00:05:51.980 This is just what they do because they believe that it is much better to avoid all of the

00:05:59.200 social issues that actually help them win elections.

00:06:02.040 They think it's too dangerous.

00:06:03.720 And if we talk about critical race theory, that might turn off some suburban people and,

00:06:08.160 you know, and it might not seem really fancy and make us seem like, you know,

00:06:13.940 sophisticates at the cocktail parties.

00:06:15.600 And we better not talk about any, you know, abortion.

00:06:18.540 That's so divisive, isn't it?

00:06:19.800 And we better not talk about family and marriage.

00:06:22.800 That, that's yucky.

00:06:24.180 Let's just talk about cutting taxes for billionaires who hate our guts.

00:06:27.800 That's a good idea, right?

00:06:29.620 The thing you got to remember, and the thing I hope the Republican Party remembers as it

00:06:34.180 looks toward the midterms, is that sometimes the apparently safest issue is not the safest

00:06:41.660 issue.

00:06:42.040 The safest tactic very often is not the safest tactic.

00:06:48.000 Talking about tax cuts or running a campaign like Romney 2012, that might seem like the

00:06:53.580 safest campaign because you're not making any sudden movements.

00:06:56.600 You're not going out on a limb.

00:06:57.640 You're not risking anything.

00:06:58.820 But it's, it's only going to safely put you into second place.

00:07:03.240 Think about it when you're driving.

00:07:05.340 Sometimes when you're driving, and I don't want to sound sexist about it, but this might

00:07:09.500 be a little bit of a difference between male drivers and female drivers, right? 1.00

00:07:13.500 Just to talk about the difference between men and women. 0.65

00:07:17.720 Sometimes male drivers will be more aggressive. 1.00

00:07:21.100 And sometimes female drivers, such as my wife, will not like this very much. 1.00

00:07:25.260 And she'll say, don't, don't hit the accelerator so much.

00:07:29.060 Go a little slower.

00:07:29.780 But sometimes when you're driving, to be a little more aggressive is actually the safer

00:07:34.980 option.

00:07:35.460 If it's you and a Mack truck, and the Mack truck is, is about to enter onto the highway, and

00:07:40.000 you're driving, you want to get a little bit ahead of it.

00:07:42.200 It's actually safer for you to accelerate a little bit, get ahead of that truck, so that

00:07:46.500 it's not going to come and smack you in the side.

00:07:49.080 And the GOP needs to learn that lesson.

00:07:51.400 Sometimes you've got to accelerate on an issue like education, critical race theory,

00:07:56.560 transgender theory.

00:07:58.460 I'll use another analogy.

00:08:00.060 I'll mix my metaphors.

00:08:01.160 When you're playing blackjack, you are guaranteed to lose.

00:08:04.040 The house is guaranteed to win.

00:08:05.400 You are guaranteed to lose, unless you play the, the good hands you get in the right way.

00:08:12.620 You split when you're supposed to split.

00:08:14.300 You double down when you're supposed to double down.

00:08:16.200 If you do that, you're almost even odds.

00:08:19.260 The house still has an advantage.

00:08:20.700 The Democrats still have an advantage.

00:08:22.280 But if we press our advantage, if we press the few advantages that we get, we actually

00:08:27.040 have a chance of winning.

00:08:28.080 Have I given enough metaphors on this?

00:08:29.680 GOP, don't squish.

00:08:31.100 Good grief. 0.93

00:08:32.340 Speaking of goofy swamp Republicans, Liz Cheney, Liz Cheney, she's at it again. 1.00

00:08:37.420 She's up to her usual tricks. 0.79

00:08:40.560 Ted Cruz, our, our pal Ted Cruz made a joke about Liz Cheney.

00:08:46.200 And CNN asked implausibly if Liz Cheney has a lane for the 2024 presidential race. 1.00

00:08:54.140 And Cruz made a joke and said, yeah, she has a lane in the, in the Democrat primary. 0.99

00:08:58.540 So Liz Cheney responds and says this.

00:09:00.340 I know you're posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted, but my party, the Republican Party, saved the union.

00:09:08.480 You swore an oath to the Constitution.

00:09:10.600 Act like it.

00:09:11.720 My party, I'm the Republican. 0.97

00:09:13.380 You're a fake Republican, Ted Cruz. 1.00

00:09:15.460 You're a fake Republican, Donald Trump. 0.98

00:09:18.040 You're a fake Republican, all the people who actually still vote Republican and support the people the Republican Party supports. 0.78

00:09:23.640 But me, Liz Cheney, frequent appearance, guest on, on CNN and ABC and NBC and in the Washington Post.

00:09:31.180 And I'm the real Republican.

00:09:34.060 I, who do Nancy Pelosi's bidding, I'm the real Republican.

00:09:36.960 It's not true.

00:09:38.660 It's not true.

00:09:40.360 I know that Liz Cheney is still registered with the Republican Party.

00:09:43.820 I know that historically she's cast at least a lot of votes for Republicans. 0.71

00:09:49.300 Most votes for, not, you know, she's not the most right-wing person, but most votes, sure, she's voted with the Republicans. 0.99

00:09:54.760 But practically speaking, Liz Cheney is a Democrat. 1.00

00:10:00.460 This is, when I talk about the court jester conservatives, people like her, like Adam Kinzinger, like the never Trumpers.

00:10:07.720 I think there are three of them left in the world.

00:10:10.360 They are practically Democrats.

00:10:12.140 They might vote Republican 99% of the time, and they can still be these court jesters.

00:10:18.680 They can still practically be Democrats because at the crucial moments, on the crucial votes, at the decisive places, they side with the Democrats.

00:10:30.920 Yeah, Liz Cheney, she'll vote for all the tax cuts in the world. 1.00

00:10:34.780 But when it comes to the January 6th commission that seeks to delegitimize half of this country, she's going to side with the Democrats.

00:10:41.020 When it comes to the presidential contest, the Republican versus the Democrat, she's going to side with the Democrat, and has in recent years.

00:10:50.260 Okay, and so there's nothing, look, there's nothing really unusual about someone leaving a political party.

00:10:56.760 People have done that throughout history.

00:10:58.340 Okay, I don't begrudge Liz Cheney leaving her political party or spending all of her time criticizing the Republican party that she still stubbornly won't leave. 1.00

00:11:06.980 But it is ridiculous to pretend that she is now still representing the Republican party.

00:11:16.340 It's not true.

00:11:17.440 The only people who even pretend to support her at this point are Democrats, and they're going to throw her out the second she's no longer useful to them.

00:11:25.660 No Republicans support Liz Cheney.

00:11:29.220 Liz Cheney doesn't support Republicans or the Republican party, so she's gone. 0.63

00:11:35.720 Please save me your sanctimony, Liz.

00:11:39.340 You've got to get aggressive, okay, and you've got to be able to push forward on the issues that are going to help Republicans right now.

00:11:47.540 You're seeing this happen in Florida.

00:11:51.520 You're seeing this happen around the country, but especially in Florida, okay?

00:11:57.460 Do not be like Liz Cheney.

00:11:59.140 Be like Ted Cruz.

00:12:00.140 Be like Ron DeSantis.

00:12:01.700 Ron DeSantis right now, through government force, through public relations, through the backbone that he's got,

00:12:10.100 has managed to win a major fight with the Florida School District over mask mandates, all right?

00:12:18.060 You've got to keep your kids safe.

00:12:20.240 You've got to keep your whole family safe in your house, and that's why I would recommend you check out Ring.

00:12:24.420 The holiday season is upon us, and you know what that means?

00:12:27.660 Your in-laws are going to show up.

00:12:29.440 Wouldn't you like to know when that will occur?

00:12:32.840 Well, you can with Ring.

00:12:34.540 Now, listen, I'm not saying you're not going to open the door, okay?

00:12:37.440 I'm just saying that whether you're in your home or at the office or on a beach, you can know when your mother-in-law shows up,

00:12:45.160 and you can make your own decision, okay?

00:12:47.100 The Ring video doorbell is all about empowering you, or it could be the delivery guy, or whoever, whoever it is, all right?

00:13:29.980 A Florida school district has finally, finally dropped its mask mandate for students.

00:13:35.600 This is after the school district suspended an eight-year-old girl 38 times, 38 times for not wearing the mandate.

00:13:47.820 Now, you'll remember that Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, said that schools do not have the right to issue blanket mask mandates without exceptions.

00:13:57.960 The school district said, forget about Governor DeSantis, we're going to do it anyway.

00:14:03.620 The little girl said, and I assume the girl's family, said, no, we're going to follow what the governor said.

00:14:10.740 We're not going to do it.

00:14:12.860 And second grader Fiona Lachels was suspended 38 times.

00:14:18.380 And now the mask order is gone.

00:14:22.040 This is following a ruling from Division of Administrative Hearings Judge Newman,

00:14:26.860 who declared that the Department of Health's emergency rule, the DeSantis rule, is valid.

00:14:34.000 Here is the little girl appearing side by side with Governor DeSantis.

00:14:38.740 I'm not wearing a mask because you touch it and you have germs on your hand,

00:14:43.500 and then you put it on your face and breathe in all the germs.

00:14:47.440 That's right.

00:14:47.840 So, Governor, I remember in the summer you signed an executive order that mask wearing was optional in the public schools,

00:14:56.360 but then the Palm Beach County schools said, you know what, you've got to wear a mask.

00:15:00.680 So, you know, kids like Fiona are caught in the middle.

00:15:05.180 So we've had a lot of litigation since then.

00:15:08.400 Fortunately, we're winning all these cases, Steve.

00:15:11.460 And I'm going to have a legislative session come in, a special session,

00:15:15.160 primarily to deal with protecting people's jobs against COVID vax requirements.

00:15:20.380 But we're also going to address this issue of our parents' Bill of Rights

00:15:24.260 and making sure that we have strong teeth in it so that if you have a situation where Fiona is forced to do this

00:15:30.600 and that's not something her mother wants her to do, then the parent ultimately makes a decision.

00:15:35.420 So we are going to strengthen that and we're going to make sure that folks are able to go to school

00:15:40.780 in the best possible way for them and for their learning experience.

00:15:44.380 Ron DeSantis is such a talented politician. 0.96

00:15:48.680 It is ridiculous. 0.61

00:15:49.720 He just, one, he knows how to keep himself in the national conversation just about every single day. 0.89

00:15:56.080 Two, he knows to appear on screen with this very sympathetic young girl,

00:16:00.400 this eight-year-old girl who's being attacked by her school district for just trying to breathe the fresh air.

00:16:05.840 And three, and this is the most important one, this is the lesson we need to take.

00:16:09.220 Like, the guy is persistent, okay?

00:16:15.280 Most Republicans go squishy, right?

00:16:19.300 Most Republicans go squishy basically from the beginning and they negotiate against themselves

00:16:23.080 and they don't fight that hard and they let the Democrats run all over them.

00:16:27.240 Some Republicans will push hard for a little bit and they'll get an executive order through

00:16:32.380 and they'll get, maybe they'll get some ruling through

00:16:35.620 and it'll just be one thing and then it's done.

00:16:39.220 But then what happens?

00:16:40.120 Because the Democrats are very persistent,

00:16:42.440 all those Republican victories just get chipped and chipped and chipped away at.

00:16:46.060 What DeSantis is doing, he issued his mask mandate saying,

00:16:49.640 or his anti-mask mandate saying that the schools don't have the right to implement these kind of policies.

00:16:55.260 But then he kept fighting them.

00:16:57.080 Every single time a school would violate his rule,

00:17:02.160 he would take them to task in the court of public opinion, in the court of law.

00:17:06.140 He would go on TV with an eight-year-old girl.

00:17:09.600 And because of that, because he's matching the Democrat persistence with his own,

00:17:14.420 he wins.

00:17:15.400 It's a major victory.

00:17:17.560 And I strongly suspect other Republican politicians are going to follow him.

00:17:22.180 Even, even the cautious ones.

00:17:25.320 Because I think they're learning the lesson that sometimes being cautious is not the most cautious policy.

00:17:31.860 Sometimes playing it safe is not the safest way you can play it.

00:17:34.880 Sometimes actually getting a little aggressive is a safer way to play it.

00:17:40.800 Great politics.

00:17:41.840 Now, speaking of Democrats abusing kids, they're doing it.

00:17:45.100 They're doing it. 0.99

00:17:45.660 The libs, like we said they would, like we all predicted, the libs are defending pedos.

00:17:53.220 They are. 0.94

00:17:54.140 And you always hear about the conspiracy theories of the Democrats and the pedophiles.

00:17:58.680 Well, sometimes it's not a conspiracy theory.

00:18:00.780 Sometimes it's a conspiracy theorem.

00:18:03.160 You know, sometimes it's a conspiracy fact.

00:18:06.040 And the Democrats, I shouldn't say the Democrats, I should say the libs more broadly, 0.96

00:18:10.240 are defending pedos.

00:18:11.880 A non-binary, also known as very confused, professor of sociology and criminal justice

00:18:19.400 at Old Dominion University, someone named Alan Walker, has now gone viral,

00:18:24.720 thanks to our friends at libs of TikTok,

00:18:27.240 defending pedophiles and pedophilia and attractions toward kids,

00:18:33.400 which he says we need to be far more sensitive about.

00:18:36.640 We need to stop using this loaded term pedophile and start calling these people MAPs. 0.81

00:18:42.600 I use the term minor attracted person or MAP in the title and throughout the book for multiple reasons.

00:18:48.240 First of all, because I think it's important to use terminology for groups that members of that group

00:18:53.680 want others to use for them.

00:18:56.060 And MAP advocacy groups, like Before You Act, have advocated for use of the term MAP.

00:19:01.200 They've advocated for it primarily because it's less stigmatizing than other terms like pedophile.

00:19:08.620 A lot of people, when they hear the term pedophile, they automatically assume that it means a sex offender.

00:19:14.180 And that isn't true.

00:19:15.420 And it leads to a lot of misconceptions about attractions toward minors.

00:19:19.280 I've definitely heard the idea that you brought up, though, that the use of the term minor attracted person

00:19:25.100 suggests that it's okay to be attracted to children.

00:19:28.200 But using a term that communicates who someone is attracted to

00:19:31.940 doesn't indicate anything about the morality of that attraction.

00:19:35.500 Doesn't indicate anything about the morality.

00:19:37.860 It's just really stigmatizing, you know.

00:19:39.540 And we shouldn't have any stigmas around anything at all, according to our modern liberal society,

00:19:45.360 including pedophilia.

00:19:48.060 There should be no stigmas.

00:19:50.980 What can he do?

00:19:52.460 There's nothing immoral.

00:19:54.340 And, you know, let's follow this guy's logic, illogic, to its logical conclusion.

00:20:00.340 Or its illogical conclusion.

00:20:03.720 Why is it immoral?

00:20:05.400 Why is an attraction toward a minor, why is it immoral?

00:20:14.040 If you're not sexually abusing the minor, why is it? 0.97

00:20:17.700 Let's say you're just looking at, you're looking at a bunch of kiddie porn. 0.97

00:20:21.860 Why is that immoral?

00:20:22.640 Okay, well, you could say it's immoral because, obviously, children were abused in the production

00:20:26.080 of that pornography.

00:20:27.400 Okay, what about if it's computer generated?

00:20:30.100 Let's say it's a cartoon.

00:20:33.120 Let's say that it's, and now, you know, technology is so advanced.

00:20:36.820 Let's say it looks real, but it's not actually real.

00:20:39.060 No children were harmed in the production of this creepy stuff.

00:20:43.140 We all suspect that would be immoral.

00:20:45.640 We all know deep down that that would be immoral to do that, to look at that kind of material,

00:20:50.280 to indulge those kinds of thoughts and attractions.

00:20:53.480 But why?

00:20:55.140 Why?

00:20:55.560 In our modern world, we're told that the only thing that matters is consent.

00:21:00.140 And so, okay, you're going to tell me that kids can't give consent.

00:21:02.420 And first of all, the libs don't even believe that themselves.

00:21:05.880 Libs not only believe that the kids can consent to sexual acts, they believe they can consent 0.97

00:21:09.820 to sexual mutilation and surgery. 0.78

00:21:11.680 They believe a five-year-old can mutilate his own body so that if he's a boy, he can look 0.83

00:21:15.460 more like a girl or vice versa.

00:21:16.720 He can know his true gender, even if his true gender has nothing to do with reality.

00:21:24.020 But okay, let's say that now you're back to kids can't give consent.

00:21:27.080 Well, why is it wrong for an adult, creepy man like that person or someone like him to

00:21:33.480 look at material that depicts children in sexual acts, even if it doesn't use real children?

00:21:40.220 Why is it wrong?

00:21:41.080 Because consent isn't the only thing.

00:21:43.300 You need consent, but there are some things that are objectively wrong and objectively disordered.

00:21:51.440 Not just as some quirk of psychology, but morally as well.

00:21:57.020 And some desires are wrong.

00:21:59.620 And if those desires are unwilled, if those desires are involuntary, we all have certain

00:22:04.360 involuntary desires, whether it's for some creepy stuff like this guy or whether it's

00:22:07.800 for too many cupcakes.

00:22:08.960 Some of our desires are going to be disordered.

00:22:11.040 And so if we don't will them, it's not a sin exactly.

00:22:13.740 But we certainly shouldn't indulge, it would be a sin to indulge those desires or those

00:22:18.820 fantasies or those thoughts.

00:22:20.540 That would be wrong.

00:22:21.600 But because we don't have any of that moral language anymore, because we're not allowed

00:22:25.780 to talk about sin and grace and vice and virtue.

00:22:28.700 All we ever talk about is this kind of basic, shallow consent or the kind of materialistic

00:22:37.160 stuff about quirks of psychology or mental health, because we can't actually talk about

00:22:40.740 morality anymore.

00:22:41.600 Now you've got the libs defending pedophiles, because they were born that way, they say.

00:22:47.980 And because we're told that our desires never change and we can't shape our desires.

00:22:51.540 You're just, you're born that way and you've always got to indulge your desire.

00:22:54.200 And if it feels good, do it.

00:22:55.460 And you should never repress anything.

00:22:56.960 Well, okay, if that's true, I think that's crazy.

00:23:01.440 But that is the idea of the sexual revolution that's been building for 70 years now.

00:23:06.660 So if that's true, then we should destigmatize the pedophiles, right?

00:23:13.020 And if we shouldn't destigmatize the pedophiles, because I think we could probably all agree

00:23:17.960 we shouldn't, then maybe we need to rethink all the other premises of the sexual revolution

00:23:25.740 too.

00:23:26.360 Looking around our society today, I think we need to rethink a lot of things.

00:23:32.540 Just look at the gas prices.

00:23:34.580 Just look at the gas pump when you go fill up your car.

00:23:38.100 Probably need to rethink that.

00:23:39.300 One way you can rethink that in a really practical way, go check out GetUpside.

00:24:49.560 to podcasts.

00:24:50.560 Leave a five-star review.

00:24:51.640 If you like what you hear, we'll be right back with a lot more.

00:24:54.200 I've heard a criticism from the left that accusations of pedophilia from the right are like accusations

00:25:16.560 of racism from the left, and all the farthest fringe theories on the right.

00:25:23.300 They very often come down to pedophilia, and the furthest fringe theories on the left, which are now

00:25:28.060 completely mainstream, they often come down to race, and everybody's a racist.

00:25:31.080 Okay.

00:25:32.020 Fair enough. 0.87

00:25:33.060 I mean, the only thing I'll say is it's not just fringe lunatic professors on the left who are 0.99

00:25:41.320 covering up and encouraging the sexual abuse of kids. 0.99

00:25:45.420 It's the mainstream left, too.

00:25:47.100 This headline from the New York Times astounded even me, and my expectations for the gray lady 0.99

00:25:51.980 are pretty low.

00:25:52.880 They're about as low as they can get.

00:25:54.220 Here's the headline.

00:25:57.080 How a school district got caught in Virginia's political maelstrom.

00:26:02.600 Sub-headline.

00:26:04.120 Loudoun County tried to address racism and promote diversity within its schools.

00:26:09.920 Then it found itself on Fox News.

00:26:14.500 First of all, that's not true.

00:26:16.460 The media institution that took down Loudoun County and affected the election was not that

00:26:22.820 cable news network.

00:26:23.880 It was the Daily Wire, and it was our story that was not about addressing racism and promoting

00:26:29.380 diversity and tolerance and inclusion. 0.66

00:26:31.660 It was a story about a rape in a transgender bathroom. 0.52

00:26:35.360 That's what it was about. 0.98

00:26:36.880 It was a story about a guy wearing a skirt raping a ninth grade girl in a bathroom, and it wasn't 0.75

00:26:43.580 even just about that.

00:26:45.460 Terrible crimes happened.

00:26:46.960 It was about the cover-up that the school then engaged in.

00:26:51.920 That's what it was about.

00:26:54.440 Evangelical Christians objected to a proposal to give transgender students access to the

00:26:59.760 restrooms of their choice.

00:27:01.720 Complaints that were magnified when a male student wearing a skirt was arrested in an assault in a

00:27:06.880 girl's bathroom. 0.89

00:27:07.840 He was, a male student wearing a skirt was arrested in an, oh, you mean a dude raped a girl.

00:27:13.120 And people didn't bat an eyelash that he was in there because boys are now allowed in the 0.85

00:27:18.580 girls' room because of the transgender bathroom policies. 0.99

00:27:22.000 This is the extreme version of Republicans pounce.

00:27:28.300 Do you know Republicans pounce?

00:27:29.900 Do you know this phenomenon?

00:27:30.660 This is when Democrats get caught in a scandal or a crime, and the headline is not Democrats

00:27:39.660 commit crime.

00:27:41.040 The headline is Republicans pounce on Democrats committing the crime.

00:27:45.360 All of the focus is on the Republicans taking what they suggest to be an illegitimate advantage.

00:27:52.620 They're exploiting Democrats committing this crime.

00:27:56.560 I'm not saying that the New York Times is eager for kids to be abused or anything like that.

00:28:05.560 I'm saying they don't care about kids being abused, and they are much happier with kids

00:28:10.100 being abused if that is the price of them pushing through their agenda than they would

00:28:16.140 be in sacrificing their agenda to protecting kids.

00:28:19.180 The headline says it all.

00:28:21.380 So, you want to talk about exploitation.

00:28:25.380 When it's, you know, just the usual Democrat gets caught in some usual scandal and then Republicans

00:28:30.960 pounce, that's one thing.

00:28:32.680 But this, to turn the real story, the work that the New York Times should have been doing

00:28:37.360 themselves on Loudoun County to then attack other media organizations, and they don't even

00:28:44.040 get the name of the organization right.

00:28:45.300 It was the Daily Wire they're coming after.

00:28:46.900 If, for them to do that is a new low.

00:28:53.120 Speaking into the mainstream media, going into overdrive to reclaim the narrative, Don Lemon.

00:28:59.800 Don Lemon is very, very upset about the biggest story.

00:29:02.460 I can't, this is the longest we haven't talked about it in any show in probably two weeks.

00:29:07.120 The Rittenhouse story, you know, where all of the evidence is on the side of Kyle Rittenhouse,

00:29:10.980 that young man in Kenosha, Wisconsin, who shot the Antifa people who were trying to murder him.

00:29:16.900 All of the evidence is on his side.

00:29:18.860 None of the evidence is on the prosecution side.

00:29:20.740 It seems like the case is falling apart before our very eyes.

00:29:23.620 And Don Lemon, he's really upset about that.

00:29:25.860 He wants to know what would happen if Kyle Rittenhouse were a black kid.

00:29:30.700 Just want to leave people with a picture here.

00:29:32.640 Are you going?

00:29:32.980 Imagine if Kyle Rittenhouse was an 18 or 17-year-old black kid.

00:29:39.500 Well, that's a different issue. 0.92

00:29:40.420 With a gun.

00:29:41.260 Talk about that.

00:29:41.800 Right.

00:29:42.120 How would people feel?

00:29:43.180 How would the judge treat him?

00:29:44.800 How would pundits think about this case?

00:29:47.780 What about the people on the right who are making Kyle Rittenhouse out to be a choir boy

00:29:53.000 because he went across state lines, inserted himself into a situation that he had nothing

00:29:59.040 to do with, was carrying a gun that he wasn't supposed to carry because he was too young.

00:30:03.140 It was illegal for him to carry that gun.

00:30:05.120 And he wanted to do it because he was cool. 0.90

00:30:08.280 The black kid did that. 1.00

00:30:09.800 Killed two people and injured another person. 0.99

00:30:12.480 How would America feel about that?

00:30:14.640 First of all, the hypothetical.

00:30:16.220 What would happen if a young black man, let's say a young black man in these very riots that

00:30:22.000 Kyle Rittenhouse went to, what would happen if he had a gun or some weapon and were committing

00:30:26.200 violence?

00:30:26.820 What would happen then?

00:30:28.100 We know what would happen then.

00:30:29.360 They'd get off the hook.

00:30:30.220 That's what would happen.

00:30:30.840 That's what's been happening for most of the people that were involved in the BLM riots

00:30:35.940 last year.

00:30:37.540 You saw it especially in the Bronx and in Manhattan.

00:30:40.880 People pleading down, having much more serious charges now, just be minor trespassing or some

00:30:47.700 lower charge. 0.97

00:30:49.060 What would happen if a young black man were looting or robbing or mugging people or killing 0.97

00:30:53.840 people during the BLM riots? 0.99

00:30:55.260 What would happen?

00:30:55.960 Nothing would happen.

00:30:57.320 They'd face very lenient prosecution and they would get cover from the media who were saying

00:31:03.840 they were involved in anti-racist protests, which is not what happened.

00:31:07.500 But let's take this further.

00:31:09.160 Let's not just compare things that share some similarities.

00:31:14.680 Let's say that Kyle Rittenhouse himself were a black guy.

00:31:20.240 So not a young black man showing up to the BLM side and protesting for BLM, not a young man 0.76

00:31:26.240 showing up and joining Antifa, but a young black man showing up to his place of business 0.57

00:31:31.540 with an AR-15.

00:31:32.840 He's clearly more conservative. 0.97

00:31:34.520 He's a young black man who shoots some Antifa people who are trying to attack him. 0.58

00:31:40.640 How would the right react? 0.96

00:31:43.780 The right would love that guy.

00:31:45.920 The right would defend that guy every bit as much as they are Kyle Rittenhouse.

00:31:50.440 And we all know it.

00:31:53.720 One, because the evidence would be on his side.

00:31:57.160 But two, because the guy would be on our side, right?

00:32:02.020 Of course, conservatives love black people who support conservatives.

00:32:11.900 Don't we?

00:32:12.580 I thought the left was just attacking us for that, that we like Thomas Sowell too much,

00:32:16.300 or we like Candace Owens too much, or we like this woman who won in Virginia, the lieutenant

00:32:21.200 governor of Virginia, Winsome Sears.

00:32:23.000 Remember, there were all these headlines, white supremacists always love black conservatives.

00:32:27.180 Oh, yeah.

00:32:27.520 So what would happen if the Kyle Rittenhouse case, if that were a young black guy? 0.96

00:32:34.320 Well, all those conservatives who the left says are white supremacist evil, they would, 0.88

00:32:38.820 by their own logic, they would support him, right?

00:32:41.760 Right now, it just so happens all the evidence would be on his side too. 0.90

00:32:44.840 And it just so happens that the right wingers are not white supremacist evil, whatever nonsense.

00:32:48.380 But I just think even on the point Don Lemon's making, he's not right.

00:32:53.120 Because the thing that matters here is substance as well as form, okay?

00:32:58.800 For the left, it's just about form, I guess.

00:33:02.520 Just about how someone looks, the kind of superficial similarity.

00:33:05.840 What about the substance?

00:33:06.860 What are these guys fighting for?

00:33:08.100 It's a big difference.

00:33:08.920 If a guy shows up to a BLM rally or an Antifa rally with a gun and starts aggressing on people,

00:33:16.300 I'm going to have a very different view of him than if someone shows up to that same rally

00:33:21.380 on the side of the business owners, on the side of the civilians, on the side of the conservatives,

00:33:27.020 and is not aggressing, but actually just defending himself.

00:33:29.860 I guess they both, in both cases, they both look like a guy with a gun.

00:33:33.880 But what they are there doing is very, very different.

00:33:39.000 It's just so cheap.

00:33:40.180 You know the libs are getting desperate because now they're just making it all about race. 1.00

00:33:46.200 By the way, Kyle Rittenhouse, the only people Kyle Rittenhouse shot are white guys. 0.68

00:33:49.300 If he had shot a black guy, there would be, the MSM would turn the demagoguery up to 11. 0.96

00:33:55.940 But because he only shot white guys, they can't really do that. 0.99

00:33:58.440 They're trying to. 0.97

00:33:59.100 So they're still trying to play the race card.

00:34:00.900 And it's just, it's not working as well.

00:34:03.020 Here's another headline from CNN.

00:34:04.640 Now, what Kyle Rittenhouse's tears reveal about white America.

00:34:11.920 They say, Kyle Rittenhouse, the 18-year-old on trial in Kenosha, Wisconsin,

00:34:15.580 for shooting three people and killing two of them,

00:34:17.440 represents the epitome of white privilege in America run amok. 0.96

00:34:22.100 White privilege? 0.94

00:34:22.880 This guy was having people tell him they were going to murder him, 1.00

00:34:28.380 chase him down, and point guns at his head.

00:34:30.760 And then only then did he shoot them in self-defense and he's still on trial. 0.98

00:34:37.740 That's white privilege?

00:34:40.020 In a sane society, this would never have gone to trial.

00:34:45.600 In a really sane society, when you've got three criminals attacking a 17-year-old boy,

00:34:53.680 criminals with a long rap sheet, serial child rapists, that sort of thing,

00:34:58.920 it wouldn't, it's not that we would put Kyle Rittenhouse on trial, we'd give him an award.

00:35:04.380 We'd put a ribbon around his neck.

00:35:07.540 But he has white privilege.

00:35:09.780 And so maybe he'll get through this trial by the skin of his teeth.

00:35:12.640 CBS Morning tweeted out that Kyle Rittenhouse, quote,

00:35:16.000 murdered two men.

00:35:17.440 They reported this as fact.

00:35:18.740 Of course, the trial is there to determine whether or not he murdered two men.

00:35:21.900 And all the evidence says he didn't murder them.

00:35:23.920 But CBS News, this is network news, just reports it as fact that he's guilty.

00:35:30.800 So I guess the trial is superfluous.

00:35:33.760 Now, this is not really working.

00:35:36.700 This is not really, I made this point on backstage the other night.

00:35:39.320 This is not really working because every single detail here is in Kyle Rittenhouse's favor.

00:35:48.140 The kid didn't take a bad shot.

00:35:50.000 Now, every single second of this interaction, which was captured on drones and actually there was

00:35:58.060 quite a bit of evidence that we actually hadn't even been told about in the public

00:36:01.920 before the media had completely convicted him in the court of public opinion.

00:36:09.080 Everything was in his favor here.

00:36:11.460 And still it's close.

00:36:12.440 If he had done anything wrong, if he'd fired one bad shot, if he had been a little bit reckless,

00:36:17.100 if he had, this would be a completely different story.

00:36:21.840 The race card's really not working.

00:36:24.020 They're so desperate now, they're trying to accuse the judge of being a racist

00:36:27.460 because he made a joke about the supply chain.

00:36:31.740 What's Andy on the spectrum?

00:36:34.080 Let's hope for one o'clock.

00:36:35.660 I don't know.

00:36:36.720 Hope the Asian food isn't coming. 1.00

00:36:39.040 It isn't on one of those boats in Long Beach Harbor.

00:36:42.840 But let's aim for one o'clock.

00:36:46.600 So they were having some Asian food for lunch that day at the trial.

00:36:51.580 And the judge made a nerdy dad joke about the supply chain.

00:36:57.260 He says, oh, well, you know, I hope the Asian food is not on the container ships

00:37:02.360 with all those other Asian products in the Long Beach Harbor because then we won't get it.

00:37:05.860 Ha ha ha.

00:37:06.460 Right.

00:37:06.640 It's not exactly Don Rickles, okay, but he's no Bob Hope, but it's a perfectly fine anodyne

00:37:14.540 little joke.

00:37:15.080 And they're saying it's racist.

00:37:16.600 It's racist.

00:37:17.860 Why is it racist?

00:37:19.200 Because you mention a people.

00:37:23.900 You mentioned that Asian goods come from Asia.

00:37:26.640 You make a little joke.

00:37:27.820 It's whatever it is.

00:37:29.400 Anytime a white guy ever says anything about race that we, and if we don't like that guy,

00:37:36.380 then whatever he said is racist.

00:37:37.920 First, not persuading anybody.

00:37:42.640 And frankly, what I, I mean, this gets back to the election point here.

00:37:46.100 I think this stuff redounds to the benefit of Republicans and conservatives if we can press

00:37:51.580 that advantage.

00:37:53.660 If we, if we just run on this, if we run on the Kyle Rittenhouse trial and the character

00:37:59.080 assassination of people with the R word, with the racist word who, who do not deserve that

00:38:04.920 word at all, and we run on critical race theory in schools, and we run on little boys and girls

00:38:12.140 being told that they're evil because of the color of their skin, and we run on little boys and girls

00:38:18.140 being told that they're not really the sex that they are, and we run on little boys and girls being

00:38:22.300 told to mask up constantly and not see any smiling faces.

00:38:25.300 If we run on this kind of cultural stuff, we're going to win, okay?

00:38:30.040 But the Republican Party is just too nervous. 0.99

00:38:32.260 They're so cowardly. 1.00

00:38:34.000 They don't ever want to be called racist. 1.00

00:38:37.620 It's the worst thing you can be called in America today.

00:38:39.260 They don't want to be called that, even if it's disingenuous, even if it's not true,

00:38:44.060 even if it's as frivolous as someone accusing this judge of racism for making a joke about

00:38:49.580 Asian food.

00:38:51.860 And it's not even actually a joke about Asian food.

00:38:53.400 It's a joke about the supply chain.

00:38:56.540 They, they want to play it safe.

00:38:58.320 And if they play it safe, they're going to safely lose.

00:39:00.180 And if they get a little more aggressive, they're going to have a far better chance

00:39:04.280 of winning.

00:39:05.560 Those sweltering summer nights that leave you tossing and turning, desperately kicking

00:39:09.320 off the covers, don't have to ruin your sleep.

00:39:34.280 Limited time only, exclusions do apply.

00:39:36.900 Speaking of race as a political issue, the North Dakota governor right now just banned

00:39:40.740 critical race theory from schools.

00:39:42.280 And you're seeing a lot more of these bans cropping up.

00:39:44.700 So the devil's always in the details.

00:39:46.300 What, what is actually being banned here?

00:39:48.520 Because what the left is going to say is there's no such thing as critical race theory.

00:39:52.360 What is critical race theory?

00:39:53.860 They retreat into nominalism.

00:39:55.940 They say, oh, he even knows what that term means.

00:39:59.520 Meanwhile, they know what that term means.

00:40:01.480 They've been pushing critical race theory for decades.

00:40:04.240 And at the, out of the other side of their mouth, they'll say critical race theory is

00:40:06.660 great and we need to push it.

00:40:08.140 And then from the other side, they'll say, no, it's not even being taught in schools and

00:40:11.220 it's not really anything and it doesn't really exist.

00:40:13.180 So here's the text of it, of the rule.

00:40:16.560 A school district or public school may not include instruction relating to critical race

00:40:19.920 theory in any portion of the school's required curriculum or any other curriculum offered

00:40:24.760 by the district or the school.

00:40:25.940 For purposes of this section, critical race theory means the theory that racism is not

00:40:30.460 merely the product of learned individual bias or prejudice, but that racism is systematically

00:40:35.360 embedded in American society and the American legal system to facilitate racial inequality.

00:40:41.060 That's a pretty good definition.

00:40:43.580 You know, I've got a book somewhere here around my desk.

00:40:46.320 I've got basically the definitive book of essays and documents outlining critical race theory

00:40:56.940 from Kimberly Crenshaw onward.

00:40:59.340 But that's pretty good.

00:41:00.140 That's a pretty good description of it.

00:41:01.500 And that should not be taught in schools.

00:41:04.280 And this is something Republicans and conservatives should embrace.

00:41:08.100 They don't want to because they're all about the free marketplace of ideas and liberty and,

00:41:12.260 you know, which isn't really liberty, but a kind of licentiousness masquerading as liberty

00:41:16.340 and the idea that we should never ban any phrase or word or anything

00:41:20.860 because we've gone way too far in the other direction on free speech.

00:41:25.160 And we actually have kind of taken free speech beyond its historical boundaries

00:41:29.100 and philosophical coherence.

00:41:32.040 And now we say you should be able to say anything you want,

00:41:33.700 but you shouldn't be able to say anything you want,

00:41:35.280 especially not in high schools and middle schools and elementary schools.

00:41:39.300 There have to be limits here.

00:41:41.320 And yeah, now what this needs is teeth, though. 0.98

00:41:44.380 Take the DeSantis lesson.

00:41:46.420 It's not enough to pass the law.

00:41:48.620 It's not enough to say, okay, now we've banned critical race theory.

00:41:52.860 No, some school is going to violate that.

00:41:54.740 Probably most schools are going to violate that.

00:41:56.560 And what then?

00:41:58.140 You got to fire the teachers or the administrators or both.

00:42:02.300 And you've got to go through the long legal process

00:42:04.740 and you've got to take it to court and you've got to get the win.

00:42:09.300 DeSantis bans the mask mandates, the blanket mask mandates.

00:42:13.980 And then the school suspends this girl and then she keeps it up. 1.00

00:42:17.140 And she keeps it up.

00:42:17.740 She gets suspended 38 times and DeSantis goes on national television with her

00:42:20.980 and he fights them in court.

00:42:22.340 And then finally, finally, the law's got some teeth.

00:42:25.220 That's what's going to have to happen here in North Dakota.

00:42:26.860 You can't take that easy little win.

00:42:29.940 You've got to push it so that it actually can be effective.

00:42:35.240 On another big campaign issue,

00:42:36.960 it's not just the cultural stuff, right?

00:42:39.680 It's not just CRT and the gender theory that is going to help us.

00:42:42.900 Biden is losing on every single issue right now,

00:42:45.640 notably inflation because people are seeing it

00:42:47.720 when they buy their groceries, when they go to the gas pump.

00:42:51.700 I don't know that much about grocery shopping.

00:42:53.740 I do it very infrequently in my house,

00:42:55.740 but I went to pick up some things at the grocery store yesterday.

00:42:58.300 And even I noticed it.

00:42:59.640 Prices are going way up on everything.

00:43:02.340 Plus store shelves are emptying out.

00:43:04.420 This is a big campaign issue.

00:43:06.800 First, the Democrats denied it.

00:43:09.420 Then they downplayed it.

00:43:13.100 Now they're saying, actually, it's like it's either not a big deal

00:43:16.300 or it's actually sort of a good thing.

00:43:17.700 Stephanie Ruhle from MSNBC.

00:43:20.140 Steph, it's great to see you.

00:43:21.300 As you say, inflation is over 6% numbers.

00:43:23.680 We haven't seen in more than 30 years.

00:43:26.100 So how much higher can these prices go?

00:43:28.560 And when do you see them coming down?

00:43:30.240 Well, listen, Willie, nobody knows exactly when they're going down,

00:43:33.600 but you have to put all this in perspective.

00:43:35.860 This inflation is not in isolation.

00:43:38.640 And the government predicted it was going to be a challenging recovery,

00:43:42.620 recovery all tied to COVID.

00:43:45.580 So it's why you see things like that expanded child tax credit.

00:43:49.160 You've got the families of over 60 million kids on average

00:43:52.360 getting $430 a month for people on fixed incomes,

00:43:56.540 older people on Social Security.

00:43:58.300 They're getting those fixed payments adjusted next year of 5.9% for inflation.

00:44:04.640 And the dirty little secret here, Willie, while nobody likes to pay more,

00:44:08.920 on average, we have the money to do so.

00:44:11.620 Household savings hit a record high over the pandemic.

00:44:14.740 We didn't really have anywhere to go out and spend.

00:44:17.340 This is actually, you know, look, you look at all this inflation and actually,

00:44:20.680 maybe it's just because you guys got so much money, huh?

00:44:23.440 You guys, you're actually doing great.

00:44:25.140 You're doing great.

00:44:25.820 Did you know that?

00:44:26.940 And look, the people who are on the government dole and relying,

00:44:30.360 not just on the dole as though they're welfare cases,

00:44:32.680 but people who've paid into the system who are now on fixed incomes from the state,

00:44:36.420 the state's going to give you a little bit more money.

00:44:39.780 You know, they're going to print, they're going to print up a lot more money.

00:44:42.360 You know, the thing that got us into this mess in the first place,

00:44:44.660 they're going to do more of that.

00:44:45.540 So it's fine.

00:44:46.640 It's fine.

00:44:47.260 And we've got, we're all really rich and it's really not a big deal.

00:44:49.880 I don't think that's a winning campaign line for Democrats.

00:44:56.480 I, I don't, I don't think, hey, you're complaining about the gas prices and the,

00:45:02.600 and your Thanksgiving dinner costs and it will shut up. 0.53

00:45:06.140 You're fine.

00:45:06.540 You're rich.

00:45:07.620 Are you?

00:45:08.360 I don't know.

00:45:08.820 I don't think people are prepared for record high inflation.

00:45:13.680 It doesn't matter how much, whether you've got a really modest resources or whether you're

00:45:18.000 quite wealthy.

00:45:18.760 I mean, you're, you're tend to scale your lifestyle to those things.

00:45:22.460 And so when prices go up 10%, 20%, in some cases they're doubling $7 gas in California,

00:45:29.540 that's going to have an effect on you.

00:45:33.460 Now, speaking of campaigns, I got to get to the story before we go.

00:45:36.760 I'll at least touch on it.

00:45:38.760 There's a rumor that New York governor Andrew Cuomo, former New York governor Andrew Cuomo,

00:45:45.580 disgraced New York governor Andrew Cuomo, might run for attorney general of New York.

00:45:50.320 So he's not going to run for governor.

00:45:51.540 There's already a governor there and multiple other people are running for governor,

00:45:54.000 including the current attorney general.

00:45:55.620 So Andrew Cuomo, who already was the attorney general, might run for that post again,

00:45:59.380 according to reports.

00:46:02.740 Now, is this true?

00:46:04.220 Is this real?

00:46:04.760 It sounds like he's floating the idea of it.

00:46:08.040 All I will say on this point is people are laughing.

00:46:10.440 Oh my gosh, this disgraced governor.

00:46:12.200 He's now under sexual investigation. 0.79

00:46:15.180 He, there's no way he could.

00:46:16.400 Don't count this guy out.

00:46:18.340 Don't count him out.

00:46:19.680 He's persistent.

00:46:20.580 The Cuomo's have dominated New York politics for the better part of 40 years.

00:46:24.460 Don't count him out.

00:46:25.620 Persistence is the key here.

00:46:29.040 And the Democrats know persistence and they've used it very effectively.

00:46:32.580 And the Republicans who are winning right now are persistent as well.

00:46:37.480 And all the rest of us, all those of us who are not governors or senators, but all the rest

00:46:42.140 of us here who care about the direction of the country, we should take note too.
