00:00:00.000 I was hoping I wasn't going to be pregnant at this point.
00:00:02.460 The baby decided to turn upside down, and so his head was in my ribs,
00:00:06.840 and my ribs felt like they were splitting apart.
00:00:08.860 It was very unpleasant.
00:00:10.000 And she felt the baby, and she was like, I think your baby's breech,
00:00:12.740 so we're going to answer some questions.
00:00:14.760 Do you do the glucose testing while pregnant for diabetes?
00:00:17.960 How did you improve fertility after mold?
00:00:20.520 Prenatal supplements and any other supplements you take for pregnancy specifically.
00:00:24.560 How much weight did you gain during pregnancy?
00:00:27.240 Any hair loss with close pregnancies?
00:00:28.800 I'm losing mine like crazy after a miscarriage.
00:00:31.180 I'm wondering about your opinion on how to think of career versus kids.
00:00:35.080 There's no comparison.
00:00:36.740 Prioritize your career first, have kids later.
00:00:39.420 I think society is figuring out was a lie.
00:00:47.880 Hi guys, welcome to my podcast.
00:00:49.920 I'm Mikayla Fuller.
00:00:51.360 I've decided to do another pregnancy Q&A because I'm still pregnant.
00:00:54.900 I was hoping I wasn't going to be pregnant at this point.
00:00:57.060 I'm 38 weeks in three days. So we're going to answer some questions. I'll show you my belly
00:01:05.060 if I can wiggle out of here. Wow. I'm on a bouncy ball.
00:01:13.580 Okay, let's get to it. Actually, before we get to it. So yesterday, my midwife came over
00:01:20.660 and she's pretty casual I really like her she's helped deliver my last couple of babies and
00:01:28.380 she looks at my belly and was like your belly looks different I was like yeah my ribs really
00:01:33.180 hurt like my hips feel better because I've been having a lot of sacroiliac joint pain
00:01:37.200 my hips feel better but my ribs really hurt and she felt the baby and she's like I think your
00:01:41.500 baby's breech so at some time in the last couple of days the baby decided to turn upside down which
00:01:50.480 is when it's not exactly upside down they should be upside down to come out but he did a somersault
00:01:56.160 and flipped and so his head was in my ribs and my ribs felt like they were splitting apart
00:02:00.460 it was very unpleasant and so obviously I plan on having a home birth I've had three home births
00:02:08.140 already but I haven't had a breech home birth and that freaks me out and I know you can have
00:02:15.000 breech home births lots of people do it it's much more rare than having a regular birth but I don't
00:02:21.640 know if I'm comfortable with that but I didn't freak out we went to the doctor and this OB has
00:02:29.060 so much experience he's apparently he's delivered triplets vaginally seven times and he gave me a
00:02:35.680 medication to like relax the uterus and it took about 15 seconds it was so easy and I was kind of
00:02:41.720 nervous going into it because I've heard it can be really hard on women to have someone flip your
00:02:47.640 baby. It's called an ECV. They hook you up to a bunch of monitors and they literally grab the 0.95
00:02:53.740 baby's bottom and the baby's head and flip them. And it sounds very uncomfortable, but I got really
00:03:02.840 lucky and it took about 15 seconds and he just flipped back down and I went home. So that's what
00:03:10.640 i did yesterday and i was like okay the midwife was like the baby's got to come the doctor was
00:03:15.640 like it's got to come soon and then i had a bunch of contractions last night and nothing happened
00:03:20.420 so i'm still pregnant but i seem to have a lot more energy so i thought i'd stick in another
00:03:25.580 q a before i'm back to my normal self uh so let's get into it actually before we get into it
00:03:35.080 I wanted to tell you guys, this is so important. If I had one product I would get during pregnancy,
00:03:43.560 it would be belly binders for recovery after birth. So I would recommend, I brought them over
00:03:50.700 here, getting a really heavy duty one. So this is from Bumpsuit. But honestly, as long as it's
00:03:58.960 kind of like this you can kind of buy wherever uh I used one I can't remember the company I'll link
00:04:07.060 products below but I used one before that was really good too but I like this one
00:04:11.760 and it's this it's this pretty intense band that you stick around your belly
00:04:21.880 and then you tighten this extra piece here and tighten it even more and for my last two kids
00:04:31.120 I have put this thinner one on this is from Bumpsuit too they don't sell this anymore but
00:04:37.620 there are hordes of other companies that just sell something thin like this it's it's it has
00:04:44.600 like boning that's kind of flexible but it's just it's thick I stick this on right after I have a
00:04:53.600 baby and then I put this thick one on on top and I just squeeze it as hard as I can and it has made
00:05:02.660 recovery so much easier and I wear it 24 hours a day when I sleep I don't know if the recommendation
00:05:07.960 says oh only wear it for 12 hours I don't care wearing it 24 hours a day these things have
00:05:14.080 saved my core saved my back stops the feeling after you have a baby you're so loose that it
00:05:21.980 kind of feels like your organs are sloshing around inside you and it's very disconcerting
00:05:27.040 when my first baby I was like faint it was awful feeling this kind of gets rid of all of that so I
00:05:34.720 just wanted to tell you guys about those because I've been sending them to everybody I know that's
00:05:41.140 had a baby being like you need to belly bind I didn't take it seriously with Scarlett I was like
00:05:46.380 that sounds like a scam so I didn't do it and it probably took my core five months
00:05:51.000 six months to really get back to normal and it was still not quite normal and I recovered in
00:06:01.620 I got to the same size of waist in a matter of weeks belly binding for my next two
00:06:08.960 and I was much older with those babies. So definitely belly bind. How much weight did
00:06:14.580 you gain during pregnancy? So I gained 35 pounds with Scarlett, 30 pounds with George,
00:06:21.920 30 pounds with Audrey and I'm at 32 pounds now. So that seems to be pretty stable and I know that
00:06:32.600 the reason I'm not gaining more than that is because of my diet and I've been primarily
00:06:37.300 eating meat. I told you guys before I varied the diet a bit because I had such a terrible
00:06:42.100 meat aversion and there's really nothing you can do about a meat aversion during pregnancy.
00:06:45.660 It's repulsive. The textures are weird. The smells are weird. It's really frustrating.
00:06:50.900 And so I varied the diet a little bit by adding some greens, some mango coconut ice cream
00:07:00.340 from Fronin which has like three ingredients which was good but I actually started getting
00:07:08.680 arthritis again and I've put out a couple of videos in the last number of months being like
00:07:13.580 hey I seem to be a lot less sensitive and I am for sure with eating other foods even if they're
00:07:19.940 just like certain plant foods and being very careful but I actually started getting arthritis
00:07:24.060 again which was really disappointing so at first I just had a little bit joint pain and I was like
00:07:29.360 well that's fine a little bit of joint pain is nothing and then it ramped up and it was my
00:07:36.100 shoulders all the fingers that used to be impacted uh like my thumb joints were hit pretty hard my
00:07:42.900 shoulders my big toe and it was just that was a serious downer but luckily my meat aversion has
00:07:50.060 lessened a little bit at the very very end so I've been back to just eating meat for a while
00:07:57.300 and I'm feeling better joint pain wise but a little spooky after not having arthritis for so
00:08:04.540 long being like having mild flare-ups in all the joints that used to be impacted nine years ago
00:08:13.260 which is kind of crazy that the disease is obviously still there and it's just being
00:08:20.220 kept in remission from the diet I was kind of hoping obviously that with time it would just
00:08:24.900 go away. But that doesn't seem to be what's happened. So part of the reason I haven't
00:08:31.880 gained very much weight definitely is because I'm just eating meat, basically.
00:08:37.040 Imagine your favorite lecture. Dial that on one max, put that on steroids, and then add some
00:08:43.540 cinematic elements to it. That's the best way I could describe a Peterson Academy lecture.
00:08:48.740 There's always that one professor who's like, oh man, you know, you got to take this one
00:08:52.720 professor they're the best but at Peterson Academy it's all of those that one professor.
00:08:59.760 I'm still paying off college from 10 years ago and I'm also still questioning the value that
00:09:04.320 I got out of college. It's very common nowadays for students to be in thousands and thousands
00:09:09.840 of dollars of debt. It breaks my heart the interest rates that are just going to keep
00:09:13.440 on piling up on them for an education that doesn't entirely serve them. You are stuck in the room,
00:09:19.280 you have to do a particular set of courses and i have to convince myself to stay focused it's just
00:09:24.000 pretty dry with peterson academy it's a fraction of the cost and you get access to
00:09:29.120 all these different topics goes anything from sciences nutrition why we get sick
00:09:34.480 all the way up to history tons of courses tons of really good lectures i'm always looking for
00:09:39.280 high quality educational content peterson academy provides it all the instructors are amazing they're
00:09:44.400 so well known in their field that you just want to pay attention the more i access the more i
00:09:48.960 listen, the more I learn, the more I want to learn. I just keep expanding and I just want more.
00:09:53.760 Traditional university can sometimes ground you down. Peterson Academy will be able to scratch
00:09:58.720 that itch of you wanting to learn and continuing to grow as a person. I can't wait to see where
00:10:04.640 Peterson Academy goes. There's just so much potential and it's just the beginning. I went
00:10:09.840 to college because I had to. I go to Peterson Academy because I want to. You just kind of have
00:10:13.760 to focus on what's going to actually change your life. Stop paying attention to what things are
00:10:18.800 are supposed to look like and actually aim for something and you might just stumble across
00:10:23.240 something like Peterson Academy. What are your timelines or strategies in teaching a baby
00:10:32.840 or child how to walk, eat, speak, read? I've been really relaxed about this except for maybe the
00:10:41.180 reading part. My babies have been so different. Scarlett was really early with everything. Like
00:10:47.480 she got bottom teeth at three months. She started, she was fully not, she weaned herself off of 1.00
00:10:56.320 breastfeeding by 13 months. And she was really mostly eating food by 11 months. And at that
00:11:03.620 point she was just eating meat by 11 months old. Audrey, because she was in the hospital last year
00:11:09.060 for a bit, was super delayed. Everything was delayed. And so we just waited, but
00:11:16.960 crawling's been delayed eating's been delayed just everything's been delayed by about four months
00:11:22.120 and with George he was a bit slower than Scarlett uh so I haven't worried about when they're walking
00:11:32.560 when they're eating when they're speaking and my my family seems to be notorious for speaking
00:11:39.480 really late my dad apparently didn't really start talking till he was three and then he was talking
00:11:44.140 in full sentences. I didn't really start talking until I was about three. And then I started
00:11:49.360 talking in full sentences. George just started saying words and he's two and a half. So I think
00:11:55.220 by three, he'll be talking in full sentences. So if you go online, they're like, bring your kid to
00:12:01.140 a speech pathologist. That might be wrong. Anyway, a speech person, but I haven't done any of that.
00:12:14.620 I don't think it's necessary. So I think you can go based off of your mom vibe and I can see George
00:12:21.360 is fine. He understands everything. He points, he runs around, everything's normal. It's almost
00:12:27.700 like he doesn't want to talk. Like if you say a word, you can eventually get him to repeat it,
00:12:32.740 but he just rather pointed things. So that doesn't, that doesn't bother me at all. Same with
00:12:39.200 the walking. Um, and with Audrey just this last week, thank goodness she started eating more and
00:12:47.020 she's May, June, July, 14 months. And so that seems like if you talk to the guidelines for
00:12:56.420 feeding babies really tell you to start at six months old that's never been my experience my
00:13:01.180 experience has been babies are more interested around eight or nine months and Audrey was not
00:13:07.480 interested at all until after a year and that was really from us trying to get food into her and
00:13:17.620 then in the last week she's way more interested and she's fine her weight is really good even
00:13:22.720 though that's just been entirely breast milk so I wouldn't stress about these things for reading
00:13:30.400 I really encouraged Scarlett to read and kind of push that but she didn't read early or anything
00:13:36.660 that was pretty on time so hopefully that answers that question what do you feed your kids I answered
00:13:44.640 this in the last Q&A in in more detail but I start them out with meat and then I wait until I can
00:13:52.620 tell that introductions, so like sweet potatoes, carrots, things like that, aren't causing any
00:13:58.460 behavioral issues or rashes or stomach aches or digestive issues. So I'm pretty slow with food.
00:14:06.580 And that's obviously because of my background with having an autoimmune disorder and my family's
00:14:10.520 background with being very sensitive to foods and having some autoimmunity and psychiatric issues
00:14:17.220 that go generations back so we're very careful and we start with fatty meat and babies love fatty
00:14:24.100 meat and if you introduce that first it's good for head circumference there are studies on this
00:14:29.860 it's good for iron levels they love it and then you don't end up with a toddler that refuses to
00:14:36.260 eat meat too which i think is pretty common for people who start off on cereals and things like
00:14:42.060 that so i would definitely recommend starting with meat and then scarlet eats kind of a paleo diet
00:14:50.200 paleo diet i don't plan to have any of my kids on the restrictive diet i'm on the lion diet
00:14:57.960 unless they had some sort of health issue arise but that seems too restrictive to me
00:15:05.640 so paleo seems like a good in-between no processed foods we don't do cane sugar
00:15:12.560 lots of meat some fruit and vegetables yeah they've had eggs nobody really likes eggs
00:15:23.160 oh someone asked why the decision to show kids faces this is an interesting question
00:15:29.120 i'm not a very neurotic person and i'm not worried about it
00:15:33.300 uh i certainly wasn't worried about with scarlet years ago we're talking about eight years ago
00:15:42.080 and it's just never seemed like a problem to me i know people put little hearts and things
00:15:49.440 over their kids faces some people don't i just i kind of think all your data is online anyway and
00:15:58.980 so i haven't been paranoid about it neither has my husband
00:16:06.200 also we're in america land of the free we have guns just in case anyone gets any
00:16:13.980 sketchy sketchy ideas out there
00:16:16.900 i'm in a way better mood than last time i don't know what's going on i maybe i'm about to have
00:16:23.420 a baby i can talk about the end of pregnancy too this isn't a question but for people who haven't
00:16:30.660 had a baby first trimester is crazy and it's weird because you don't look pregnant but you
00:16:36.800 feel weird meat aversions your smell heightens you're tired like you've been drugged like it
00:16:45.000 feels like you've taken benadryl or something the entire time really boring food aversions
00:16:51.100 meat aversions can occur and some people get super unlucky and end up throwing up all the time
00:16:57.060 and i think you can fix part of that by really monitoring what you eat because with scarlet i
00:17:04.620 had some bouts of nausea and i threw up a few times when i ate things that really didn't agree
00:17:09.620 with me and i haven't had any of that eating meat the tricky part is you can get a meat aversion so
00:17:15.180 then meat is kind of out of the question so then i'd probably recommend chicken wings have never
00:17:19.460 been an issue for me pregnant or caused any nausea uh i would probably stick to whole foods 1.00
00:17:27.820 try to avoid coffee seems to be a trigger dairy dairy seems to be a big trigger for pregnant women
00:17:34.100 so that's first trimester and then second trimester things kind of lighten up a bit
00:17:39.320 you have a cute belly you have more energy
00:17:42.080 sometimes the aversions and the nausea go away not as tired and then third trimester hits and
00:17:52.160 it's kind of like first trimester except you can't move very well like you guys should see
00:17:56.240 how I'm sleeping it's so miserable it's so miserable and I've been lucky my last two kids
00:18:03.720 were born at 36 weeks which was just naturally I had like like I said I had home births George
00:18:11.920 was born 36 weeks in one day because my water broke and he was big he was seven pounds nine
00:18:18.640 ounces at 36 weeks thank goodness but it was a little early I was kind of worried about him
00:18:23.760 getting a cold and things and then Audrey was born 38 weeks in two days which was yesterday
00:18:29.180 I was really hoping this baby would be out yesterday but he's not I've managed to dodge
00:18:35.920 the last two weeks two to four weeks of pregnancy for these last two kids and it's been nice
00:18:41.800 because the last couple of months of pregnancy are crazy i've been hanging out primarily in the
00:18:48.560 bathtub because my back has hurt so much sacroiliac joint mostly but also up here so when i sleep i
00:18:57.080 think because my belly flops over it like pulls on one side so that's really uncomfortable uh
00:19:03.480 somebody asked if i did exercises or anything to avoid this no because i had babies back to back
00:19:09.360 so I haven't done anything which cannot be good for my core so maybe you can avoid some of the
00:19:17.980 back pain if you strengthen your back I was hoping to have time to do that before the pregnancy but
00:19:24.660 I've been so stressed this year and busy and tired that I didn't do any back exercises and now my back
00:19:31.340 is in a lot of pain oh someone did ask about ask about the wrapping you shared info about some
00:19:37.520 form of wrapping to help keep your waist in form well yeah these guys that I showed you so that
00:19:43.780 answers that question I would highly recommend seriously out of everything you can buy get
00:19:48.300 these I'm wondering about your opinion on how to think of career versus kids kind regards
00:19:54.900 there's no comparison there's no comparison about which is better so versus maybe isn't quite right
00:20:07.240 but I get what the person is asking. So I'll answer that. But I would prioritize kids over
00:20:14.180 career for sure. Um, I would, I would try to create your work career, shape it in a way so
00:20:27.780 that it enables you to have kids if that's possible, because that should be your primary 0.98
00:20:34.240 goal so I know it's tricky for a woman we've been taught especially people my age have been
00:20:40.280 we're taught as a kid you can do everything you can have everything prioritize your career first 0.99
00:20:46.040 have kids later which I think society is figuring out was a lie that women were taught really unfair 1.00
00:20:53.000 lie because one a lot of women have difficulty having kids and getting pregnant later and later 0.99
00:20:59.080 isn't even that old later could be 35 which isn't that old but for pregnancy it's old and some people
00:21:07.060 get pregnant like above that naturally with no problems which is great fantastic i like i i have
00:21:14.900 a feeling because of because i've been so fortunate with how much diet has helped my health
00:21:19.840 i could probably keep having babies but not everybody can do that so prioritizing kids early
00:21:28.220 is should be your goal and i think even more than focusing on career you should focus on
00:21:34.800 who you're going to marry because that's way more important than career too so if i was a young
00:21:43.260 person and i knew what i knew now i would i would focus on who i was going to marry
00:21:51.660 and that's tricky too because you see a lot of kid people a lot of women and men getting
00:21:59.360 married younger and I'm all for that but I also know for myself I was naive until I was 26 which
00:22:11.200 is tricky because you want to have kids early you want to pick somebody to have kids with that
00:22:15.800 you're madly in love with that you're going to be in love with for the rest of your life
00:22:18.740 but you're i was at least pretty naive so that makes that makes the whole situation tricky but
00:22:28.560 maybe people out there will be less naive than i was i think years of being on psychiatric
00:22:34.480 medications and sick really stunted my ability to judge other people properly
00:22:39.480 so i'm going to use that as an excuse but i actually do believe that because when i went
00:22:43.760 off of them, my entire worldview changed. It is really like being on drugs for your
00:22:51.240 developmental years. And then I had to relearn cues from people, vibes. I was misjudging
00:23:00.540 vibes for most of my life. And that sounds kind of hippy dippy, but I would be around
00:23:11.360 people and get a vibe that I didn't understand and ignore it for years which I shouldn't have
00:23:18.240 been doing so that's part of the answer for um career versus kids is kids should take priority
00:23:26.060 but even more than that your relationship should take priority uh that being said if you have a
00:23:31.800 career and you love it and it's something you want to pursue I do think that's doable but you
00:23:40.080 you're going to miss out on things you can't have both right if you're going to go to work you're
00:23:45.420 going to miss your kids when you're at work and if you're going to stay home you're going to miss
00:23:50.180 out on career opportunities and so you kind of have to choose and what I've done is I've been
00:23:56.980 working from home and because I do everything online and I've been managing my dad's brand
00:24:05.060 and even building peterson academy all of that has been from home i'm always available
00:24:09.300 but i also have a lot of help and i went into detail about what help i have in the last video
00:24:17.080 too but i have nannies multiple nannies that help um one that lives in so somebody's there all the
00:24:25.440 time and that makes working as much as i want to work possible and i made that like conscious
00:24:33.200 decision after I had Scarlett and I was home for a year with her with no help and I was going
00:24:38.520 completely nuts and feeling really isolated and I thought I want more kids how am I going to be
00:24:45.000 able to do that and stay sane and I thought I need to hire help and I need to make enough money to
00:24:52.600 be able to afford that so my primary goal for a while was trying to make more money to afford
00:24:58.600 to help so I could have more kids. So that's my question to career versus kids is focus on
00:25:06.580 relationship and really make a long-term game plan about how you're going to have kids. And I
00:25:14.060 wouldn't wait to do that. I would plan to do that because you're never going to be ready to have
00:25:18.520 kids. It's always inconvenient to be pregnant. You can't just take a year off. So you have to 1.00
00:25:25.460 just have this year where you can manage bouts of nausea kind of feeling ill the whole time
00:25:31.960 mood swings not getting enough sleep and then you have to manage the year after when you have a baby
00:25:39.820 and i think the year after having a baby is easier than pregnancy because
00:25:45.720 you can sleep more you're not full of the same hormones you are in pregnancy
00:25:54.380 postpartum can be difficult though uh so you basically need two years minimum to kind of put
00:26:01.500 towards having children uh so you have to figure out how to make that happen but planning in advance
00:26:07.360 and having a partner that will do that journey with you is the most important part what can i
00:26:14.860 do to help my wife during the end of her pregnancy slash during labor slash after birth
00:26:19.480 okay i also answered this in the last one but i have another answer there's something you can do
00:26:29.440 during labor that's really helpful uh which is you kind of grab her hips um
00:26:38.620 right if you look at a pelvis there's kind of a an indent in the back if you put your hands there
00:26:47.920 and squeeze in hard it can open the pelvis a bit and it is amazing during labor so with Audrey
00:26:57.620 it went really fast and I was in the tub and our midwife had taught my husband how to do this
00:27:05.460 pushing thing and he probably did that I want to say for at least an hour but maybe longer
00:27:14.200 near the end that honestly changed pain from being absolutely excruciating to
00:27:21.920 excruciating but manageable so I would recommend looking up videos to do that because that really
00:27:30.320 helps and that's gonna that's gonna be important if you have a natural birth or home birth that's
00:27:35.720 really helpful and then end of her pregnancy and after birth is imagine she's like a cat
00:27:44.180 a pregnant cat what would you do with a pregnant cat you would like set up a nice cave for them 0.82
00:27:50.540 bring them food and kind of leave them alone but be nearby and I feel like that's what women want 0.99
00:28:00.400 near the end and postpartum time is they want to be in a safe cozy place with enough food and
00:28:08.140 enough water because it can get really hard to move at the end and then after you have a baby
00:28:13.120 you kind of want to stay around the bed for a couple of weeks like you don't want to do a 0.95
00:28:17.300 bunch of exercise walking around so food water shelter taking as much off her plate as you
00:28:24.460 possibly can and monitoring for unwanted visitors and I think a lot of first-time parents make this
00:28:33.000 mistake with let's invite a bunch of people over right after you have a baby and it is so
00:28:38.540 overwhelming and near the end it's so overwhelming especially if you're kind of a people pleaser and
00:28:44.480 you want to make sure everyone's comfortable and make sure everyone's fed while you're bleeding
00:28:50.040 in bed with your newborn and everyone wants to hold the baby and maybe you don't want to share
00:28:53.500 the baby because you have been one for nine months and so I think the healthiest thing a man can do
00:29:02.880 is understand that this is a very like primal and animalistic period where she'll need a lot of
00:29:12.080 like comfort food water and safety and the most important thing you can do is help her feel safe
00:29:18.800 because the hormones are just they're so unpleasant if you don't feel safe
00:29:23.220 if you don't feel safe they're screaming and crying and
00:29:27.660 at least for me but I think that's pretty normal flapping around and it's just not necessary nice
00:29:37.060 and calm nice and calm I'm so congested my nose has been stuffy this entire pregnancy
00:29:45.320 I'm so excited to not be pregnant I told you guys I have this like extra energy which I think
00:29:52.160 happens at the end so we'll see I'm just so excited to not be pregnant my husband keeps being
00:29:58.580 like yeah and there'll be a baby I'm like oh yeah there'll be a baby too but I don't know why I'm
00:30:03.640 thinking about like that I just want to be able to sleep and breathe through my nose again and not
00:30:09.140 cry all the time about nothing like I wake up in the morning and I'm just so sad and uncomfortable
00:30:17.820 and I just need to have a quick weep because like what are you weeping about like nothing
00:30:23.360 I'm just hurting like nothing I just am so pregnant it's crazy I told him this morning
00:30:31.040 I'm nothing but a baby vessel now there's like that's all I am it's just a waddling around baby
00:30:37.340 vessel there's no part of me that's here maybe that's part of the reason I wanted to do another
00:30:41.820 Q&A. I was like, oh, I just want to do something. Is it harder being pregnant in your 30s?
00:30:51.740 No, because I was so sick in my 20s. That was right when I was getting out of
00:30:56.380 autoimmunity and depression and I was in psych med withdrawal and I wasn't in the most fantastic
00:31:03.140 relationship so that was really hard and scarlet was a total surprise so that was hard and i still
00:31:14.900 had arthritis and things i wasn't on the lion diet at that point oh man yeah no that was hard
00:31:20.160 so i'm probably not the best i think the healthier you the healthier you are the easier
00:31:26.860 your pregnancy is so it's been easier in my 30s but now at the end I can't remember being
00:31:34.580 this uncomfortable with the other ones and I don't know if that's because I had Audrey
00:31:38.480 last May or if it's because I'm older or my core is more worn out with multiple children but
00:31:47.860 I'm so uncomfortable I'm so uncomfortable I can't sleep at night my back hurts so much
00:31:53.760 there isn't a position I can get in that doesn't hurt I can get into a position that doesn't hurt
00:31:58.980 for 40 minutes and then my upper back will start hurting and I have to flip over and then 40
00:32:03.220 minutes later that'll hurt so I'm waking up every 40 minutes so if that's age then that near the end
00:32:11.240 is harder but the psychological part isn't I was talking to I got my nails done
00:32:18.940 and i was talking to my nail lady who had a kid i think she was 23 and i had scarlet
00:32:28.440 when i was 25 which doesn't seem that young but it felt young okay i got pregnant when i was 24
00:32:35.780 obviously uh and i was talking to her about how psychologically it's been it's a lot easier
00:32:44.160 later so maybe it's more difficult physically but I'm much more confident sure of myself I'm
00:32:51.260 in a fantastic relationship which makes all the all the difference I've already had a baby
00:32:58.680 having multiple babies is so so much easier than your first like you're not worried about whether
00:33:03.860 or not they're going to survive although I'm a little spooked about it since Audrey got sick last
00:33:08.640 year so I have that a bit but it's easier I would say now I'm not 40 or anything maybe it just gets
00:33:22.460 way harder at that point but I've actually had an easier time although this one's sad how did
00:33:27.780 you improve fertility after mold I have SIRS and currently miscarrying that's too bad I you guys
00:33:37.260 know that I was diagnosed with SERS from mold exposure and I had a miscarriage in Miami that
00:33:42.700 was pretty early like 10 weeks and it's funny because Jordan and I kind of started to try to
00:33:52.940 have kids right away and we didn't have successful pregnancies until I figured out the SERS aspect
00:34:01.700 and moved out of mold so i would say for anybody suffering from infertility i think this is rampant
00:34:08.020 i really think you should look at your air quality get tested for sirs you can go to moldco.com and
00:34:16.100 they have blood work that's cheap and easy to do so you can at least rule out sirs but more
00:34:21.800 importantly check your hvac make sure there's no obvious water damage in your house so that would
00:34:27.260 be like wrinkled paint lines around doors and windows water staining water staining on the
00:34:36.800 ceiling obvious mold growth is obviously a sign but also look for those signs I just mentioned
00:34:45.100 you can check your toilet bowl too and if your toilet bowl is moldy I always toilet bowls were
00:34:51.540 always moldy wherever I was living and I used to think that that's just what happened to toilet
00:34:56.340 bowls? It's not. Toilet bowls, when you flush, will pull in air from the bathroom and whatever's
00:35:03.880 in the air will start growing in the toilet. So if your air is clean, your toilet bowls don't get
00:35:09.200 moldy. This might not be shocking to you guys, but considering I always had moldy toilet bowl,
00:35:15.860 like not toilet bowls, sorry, toilet tanks, I just kind of thought that was how they were.
00:35:20.960 It's not. So a good test is looking at your toilet tank and seeing if there's mold in there,
00:35:26.340 because that means there's mold in the air in your bathrooms which likely means your whole house
00:35:30.900 and I have a good setup I have a really good setup now and I'll just link the article below
00:35:39.080 to what we have it's not super pricey but I think I think the best investment for your health
00:35:44.800 would be adding an ERV to your HVAC and a serious filtration system to that setup as well so we use
00:35:54.580 something called the super v which has a really really intense filtration rating i think it's the
00:36:04.000 merv it might be merv 19 it's something like that which is just a really intense filter so it
00:36:11.800 actually takes in outdoor air filters the air and so you have fresh air circulating around your house
00:36:16.900 all the time so then if something does leak and you have a bit of mold in your house you should
00:36:21.380 fix that but it doesn't fill your house like you're living in an aquarium because our houses
00:36:26.360 are so sealed now that it's basically like we're living in aquariums you need to get your air
00:36:31.560 quality under control so anybody suffering from miscarriages and infertility should really check
00:36:38.880 out their air and i know a lot of people are like get your diet under control that's true get your
00:36:43.360 diet under control like get healthy but i've seen so many people have miscarriages because of their
00:36:50.360 air quality and I did and so Jordan and I were kind of off and on trying one of my really old
00:36:56.180 episodes I was like considering getting a surrogate because I was worried about suicidal
00:37:02.400 depression during pregnancy seriously because I had that a little bit with Scarlett but also
00:37:10.100 because we were having such trouble having babies which was weird because we're both on the meat
00:37:14.120 diet we're like we're good to go this is going to be easy and then it wasn't easy at all and then I
00:37:19.540 had a miscarriage and I was like what why would I have a miscarriage figured out the air quality
00:37:25.000 issue moved out I got pregnant with George a month after I moved out of the Miami home a month we were
00:37:33.160 like that was fast we were living in a hotel at the time because we didn't have a house because
00:37:38.240 I was like I'm not staying in that house anymore death house uh and I got pregnant then and then
00:37:44.220 the gap between george and audrey was nothing i had george in december and i got pregnant with audrey
00:37:52.120 in september the next year which was like just a couple months after i was even able to get
00:38:00.860 pregnant and then with this baby i didn't have any time this was a shocker i didn't even like
00:38:05.960 this was not my plan but he snuck on through so it's been hard to not get pregnant since we
00:38:17.900 figured out the air quality issue and then with the diet I'm on that's put everything into remission
00:38:22.860 like I can't believe I gave myself arthritis again with arugula like the recent flare-up
00:38:29.700 was caused by eating arugula cooked arugula I was talking to my dad about this and he's like
00:38:35.440 of all the things to eat why would you be eating that and I actually like greens a lot and they're
00:38:44.160 cooked and they're supposed to be good for people with IBD and IBS and very easy to digest and low
00:38:49.140 in oxalate like I chose this very carefully and then boom arthritis so yeah that's disappointing
00:38:58.320 meat girl for now maybe forever who knows who knows I think if I probably did something like
00:39:07.800 have mango that mango ice cream it's just mango coconut and honey if I had a little bit of that
00:39:14.080 once a week I don't think I would bring back an autoimmune disorder but obviously if I do
00:39:20.380 arugula every day all my joints start to hurt and I know that if I kept doing this it would
00:39:26.000 progress in a nasty way. Like it went from a couple of joints hurting to suddenly all the
00:39:32.080 joints that used to be impacted in my hands. Um, my knees didn't flare. They used to be pretty
00:39:37.960 badly impacted. So my knees are still in the clear, but I can feel it my shoulders, my toe
00:39:41.900 and my fingers. Do you do the glucose testing while pregnant for diabetes? I didn't because
00:39:51.480 i have a keto mojo where you can test glucose and ketones and my glucose has never been
00:40:00.100 abnormal i'm really not worried about it if you only eat meat the likelihood of that is i don't
00:40:06.200 even know how it would be possible to get diabetes during pregnancy if you're literally only eating
00:40:11.440 meat but i also don't know anyone insane enough to only eat meat during the pregnancy i don't
00:40:15.640 mean carnivore with some like eggs and cream and a lot more variety I mean just eating beef
00:40:24.640 I don't understand how it would be possible so I did not do the glucose testing they also want
00:40:30.120 you to drink this disgusting drink that's completely full of sugar if I drank a drink
00:40:35.760 completely full of it might not be sugar let me let me just look up what do they use
00:40:41.820 oh my gosh it is sugar so pregnancy glucose drinks contain 50 to 100 grams of dextrose
00:40:49.000 slash glucose depending on the type of test your doctor orders
00:40:51.800 i haven't had that much sugar in 11 years if i drank that drink my glucose would look so bad
00:41:04.560 i would immediately be diagnosed with diabetes so i didn't do it but i don't know what would
00:41:10.540 happen to my glucose if i did that like 200 i'm not sure so no i didn't do that prenatal supplements
00:41:21.000 and any other supplements you take for pregnancy pregnancy specifically
00:41:25.200 pregnancy i can't wait to have my brain back oh it's gonna be good it's probably gonna take
00:41:32.920 two years to come back to normal i took folinic acid and i took a little bit of b1
00:41:39.160 so it looks like if you only eat meat for a very long time eight years for me
00:41:47.760 your b1 and folate can fall and this took years to figure out if you've only been doing the diet
00:41:56.080 for like three to six months i wouldn't even worry about this and there are people who have
00:41:59.520 been doing this forever that have had kids that didn't supplement but i did um folinic acid was
00:42:07.940 pretty tolerable. I have a really bad reaction to B vitamins where they make me agitated, give me
00:42:11.980 insomnia, horrible feelings. And so I've had to test out B vitamins. Methyl folate was horrible.
00:42:21.020 Folic acid was horrible. Folinic acid anyway wasn't so horrible. So I supplemented folinic
00:42:29.680 acid which i would recommend and b1 but what i would do too if you're pregnant if you're pregnant
00:42:38.660 you don't have issues with supplements at all you don't have any autoimmune and psych issues
00:42:44.260 then i would say take folinic acid and just pop uh seeking health has a really good prenatal
00:42:50.840 supplement i'd probably just pop one of those but if you are in the category of people that have
00:42:55.860 autoimmune issues or you're on the lion diet or you previously been on psych meds or you're on
00:43:01.180 psych meds i would get your blood tested pretty frequently throughout pregnancy and you're on a
00:43:06.300 actually just regardless of whether or not you're on a restrictive diet get your blood tested and
00:43:11.540 then address the deficiencies especially if you're on to multiple kids because i've noticed with this
00:43:16.900 kid i can just tell i'm depleted i did not wait long enough between children and that's that's
00:43:23.540 fine. He's here. He's here. But I'm depleted, so I definitely supplemented. Keto and pregnancy
00:43:34.660 and breastfeeding. So a lot of doctors will test to see whether you're in ketosis during pregnancy,
00:43:42.420 and if you are, they'll freak out. And that's to look for ketoacidosis. And so they should be
00:43:48.980 looking at the combination of how high your glucose levels are, plus whether or not you're
00:43:52.960 in ketosis and that's called ketoacidosis and that's bad uh i haven't had a problem at all
00:44:01.120 being in ketosis almost the entire time except for if i have that delicious mango ice cream
00:44:06.820 uh but i'm in ketosis like for sure even adding an arugula i was still in ketosis
00:44:11.680 i've just found it beneficial um so i haven't had issues during pregnancy and then for
00:44:18.480 breastfeeding I also haven't had issues the main thing that impacts breastfeeding for me is stress
00:44:26.280 I've run into a couple of really really stressful situations about three months into breastfeeding
00:44:32.580 that just tanked my milk supply and so for Audrey it was going to the hospital and switching to
00:44:38.600 pumping and I was worried she was going to die and I wasn't sleeping or eating and so that
00:44:46.760 obviously didn't work well and then there was another issue that was really stressful with
00:44:51.720 George didn't have to do with George it just happened at the same time as George and that
00:44:56.280 impacted my milk supply but the actual diet hasn't as long as you eat enough calories
00:45:02.400 as long as I eat enough I've seen I seem to be fine any hair loss this is the last question
00:45:10.000 because my back's killing me but any hair loss with close pregnancies I'm losing mine like crazy
00:45:15.820 after a miscarriage oh man that sucks too that sucks sorry uh yeah I had hair loss with Audrey
00:45:25.320 and Scarlett a lot with Audrey luckily I have hair extensions in uh like obviously this is not
00:45:36.620 all my hair uh so it didn't wasn't noticeable on the outside but it was noticeable for me I got a
00:45:43.920 lot of thinning up here that I'm still recovering from but with my boys I've grown more hair
00:45:51.020 so it hasn't been with every pregnancy but with all the girls I lost so much hair my arms got
00:45:58.140 less hairy my legs I stopped having to shave my eyelashes got really short like I lost hair from 0.77
00:46:03.640 everywhere and with the boys I've my arms are ridiculous my legs are ridiculous my like I have 0.95
00:46:12.400 to shave a mustache. I'm so hairy, but it's kind of nice because I'm growing back all the spots 0.95
00:46:17.540 that were depleted during Audrey. And I haven't had hair loss postpartum with the boys. So I'll
00:46:27.480 get hairier, but it doesn't seem to fall out. Although the arm hair and the leg hair seems to
00:46:33.420 stop and the mustache. But the other thing that happened during this pregnancy that hasn't happened
00:46:38.900 before is I got melasma so if you look back on at some of my videos I have kind of a mustache
00:46:44.380 that's melasma it's darkening over the upper lip which seems to have toned down near the end of
00:46:51.500 pregnancy but hopefully that goes away because I was like what what not only do you have to be
00:46:58.340 pregnant and give birth and breastfeed and not sleep and be nauseous and be tired but now I get
00:47:04.840 this like painted on mustache that's really hard to cover with makeup so that's that okay
00:47:13.460 next time I talk to you guys actually I think I have one podcast I can put out but after that
00:47:20.980 I will be separated into two people thank goodness and then I can feel like myself
00:47:27.020 again a little bit thanks for watching
00:47:34.840 You
