00:00:00.000 How do I overcome my fear of pregnancy? You just try to brainwash yourself into not being scared.
00:00:06.220 It's really hard and it's super weird. Just because your wife's a woman doesn't mean being
00:00:12.140 pregnant feels natural. Like I feel like there's a fish living inside me. Men don't realize what 1.00
00:00:17.280 a shift it is for women. When you have a baby, it's crazy. People can see in MRIs that your brain 1.00
00:00:23.020 changes. Your entire world is surrounded by keeping this baby alive and your relationship
00:00:27.300 with this baby how will you manage being a mom with work how do you maintain your weight i feel
00:00:32.220 like a hippo did you plan two pregnancies this close together i know i didn't my poor body any
00:00:37.120 cravings that were outside of your normal diet cucumbers have just been my craving for every
00:00:42.560 pregnancy how did you know you were ready do you take supplements boy or girl or will the
00:00:47.860 kindergarten teacher decide this is a boy
00:00:57.300 Hey everybody, welcome to my podcast. I'm Mikayla Fuller, and this is a pregnancy Q&A. I will show you why.
00:01:07.660 There's a 37-week pregnant belly, and I'm sitting on a ball, so apologies if I bounce a bit, but my back is murdering me, my sacroiliac joint specifically, but also my mid-back, my ribs, everything's expanding.
00:01:24.720 this is the biggest I've been with a pregnancy and I'm feeling it so we are going to be doing
00:01:31.880 I am going to be doing a Q&A I'm going to do products in another video probably postpartum
00:01:38.080 and I feel like if I don't do this video today I'm not going to be putting it out
00:01:42.060 because that's how I've been feeling so let's get started these were questions I got from
00:01:48.140 you guys off of Instagram what are your thoughts on the best diet for children okay
00:01:54.140 here's a spicy one this isn't that spicy this is what I'm doing for all my children so they start
00:02:01.320 with meat they go breast milk and eventually they start with meat feeding a baby meat is a little
00:02:07.600 bit tricky there's some gagging that goes on and that happens with any food you give them that some
00:02:12.620 babies are gaggier than other babies but I've done meat with Scarlett I did meat with Scarlett for
00:02:18.540 the first three years so people reach out sometimes with kids that have autoimmune disorders at two
00:02:24.120 at two and they go you know can I do the lion diet yeah you can do only meat you can introduce
00:02:31.060 foods really slowly for little kids so breast milk then we do meat I do meat until two and a
00:02:36.980 half or three by itself beef primarily uh and then eventually some fish and some chicken but
00:02:44.920 primarily fatty beef and research has shown that kids that start with meat have a larger head
00:02:52.160 circumference in a good way are bigger I'll try to remember to link that study below or you can
00:02:58.000 google it but meat as a first food is amazing in the 90s they were giving everybody iron fortified
00:03:05.300 cereal because cereal doesn't have iron in it I don't know what marketing genius came up with that
00:03:10.780 but don't do that do meat and then amylase levels amylase is an enzyme that helps break down
00:03:17.880 starches those levels don't even reach peak adult levels until about two and a half you guys can
00:03:24.640 double check those numbers but it's about two and a half so you do not need to rush into giving your
00:03:29.960 kids starches at all until about that age because they're not even ready for it so i do meet for the
00:03:37.980 first three years i wouldn't be this strict except for my history with autoimmunity my family's
00:03:43.760 history with autoimmunity and we don't know exactly now why we're sensitive maybe genetic
00:03:50.320 sensitivity to mold causing autoimmune problems but I do not want that for my kids so we're strict
00:03:56.680 and then once I'm at the two and a half three year period I start foods one by one and I monitor
00:04:03.080 for things like suddenly having tantrums from going from being a calm kid to suddenly having
00:04:08.560 tantrums. And then I can tell I've started to introduce foods too early. Obviously, you can
00:04:15.220 check for stomach aches, rashes, like eczema, the normal stuff. But I also wanted her mood.
00:04:21.960 And Scarlett now, she's almost nine, which is crazy. But she eats what I would consider
00:04:28.400 a paleo diet. So no processed foods, no cane sugar. She doesn't, she can eat dairy,
00:04:37.560 but she doesn't eat much dairy she doesn't really like eggs but she can eat eggs she has no allergies
00:04:41.700 except for environmental allergies which I think stemmed from her mold exposure before we knew
00:04:46.500 about the mold problem and our mold sensitivity but she eats just a healthy varied diet a lot of
00:04:53.940 meat probably 80 percent meat but fruits vegetables and all those introductions went swimmingly she's
00:05:01.420 had nuts before like I said no allergies and she was such an easy kid the only times this 0.99
00:05:09.720 sounds crazy but the only times she had tantrums really and I really mean this was when she went
00:05:17.120 to school and somebody gave her chocolate at school and this was when she was about five and
00:05:20.300 she came home and was running around the couch in circles and I was like did you eat something like
00:05:25.340 what is happening she had a meltdown and was like you know a kid at school gave me chocolate
00:05:31.400 And then the same thing happened the next year when a kid at school gave her something.
00:05:35.200 But so I've seen this reintroduction and introducing food, sorry, introducing food slowly, starting with meat.
00:05:43.740 For nine years with Scarlett, George is two and a half now.
00:05:48.820 He's still just eating meat.
00:05:50.760 And we've tried little bits of things like some sweet potatoes, some carrots, a little bit of cooked arugula, egg.
00:06:00.220 like we've tried things here there he really likes beef he'll have some chicken sometimes
00:06:04.760 but when I tried to introduce and feed him carrots and sweet potatoes when he was two
00:06:11.280 he started having tantrums when he was waking up from naps and I cut them out and the tantrums
00:06:15.820 went away and that sounds crazy because it's not a sugar it's just a carrot it's just sweet
00:06:20.620 potatoes but I know that that's just too early for him uh and so I'll probably be doing that again
00:06:27.320 when he's closer to three and that seems to work really well imagine your favorite lecture dial
00:06:35.420 that on one max put that on steroids and then add some cinematic elements to it that's the best way
00:06:41.100 i could describe a peterson academy lecture there's always that one professor who's like oh man you
00:06:46.980 know you gotta take this one professor they're the best but at peterson academy it's all of those
00:06:51.820 one professor. I'm still paying off college from 10 years ago and I'm also
00:06:58.300 still questioning the value that I got out of college. It's very common nowadays
00:07:02.140 for students to be in thousands and thousands of dollars of debt. It breaks
00:07:06.580 my heart. The interest rates that are just gonna keep on piling up on them for
00:07:10.240 an education that doesn't entirely serve them. You are stuck in the room, you have
00:07:14.980 to do a particular set of courses. I have to convince myself to stay focused.
00:07:18.280 it's just pretty dry.
00:07:20.120 With Peterson Academy, it's a fraction of the cost
00:07:23.140 and you get access to all these different topics.
00:07:26.060 It goes anything from sciences, nutrition,
00:07:28.680 why we get sick, all the way up to history.
00:07:31.220 Tons of courses, tons of really good lectures.
00:07:33.840 I'm always looking for high quality educational content.
00:07:36.560 Peterson Academy provides it all.
00:07:38.080 The instructors are amazing.
00:07:39.680 They're so well known in their field
00:07:41.160 that you just want to pay attention.
00:07:42.960 The more I access, the more I listen, the more I learn,
00:07:45.840 the more I want to learn.
00:07:46.840 I just keep expanding.
00:07:48.200 and I just want more.
00:07:49.280 Traditional university can sometimes ground you down.
00:07:51.760 Peterson Academy will be able to scratch that itch
00:07:55.040 of you wanting to learn and continuing to grow as a person.
00:07:58.240 I can't wait to see where Peterson Academy goes.
00:08:01.560 There's just so much potential, and it's just the beginning.
00:08:05.080 I went to college because I had to.
00:08:06.720 I go to Peterson Academy because I want to.
00:08:08.560 You just kind of have to focus on what's
00:08:10.280 going to actually change your life.
00:08:12.160 Stop paying attention to what things are supposed to look like
00:08:15.360 and actually aim for something,
00:08:17.240 and you might just stumble across
00:08:18.760 something like Peterson Academy.
00:08:24.600 I don't know who asked this question in this manner.
00:08:28.600 With you being pregnant and uncomfy in bed so often,
00:08:31.560 does your husband get enough sleep? 0.97
00:08:34.400 With a laughing, crying face. 0.97
00:08:37.000 Zach, this is not the question for a pregnant woman at all. 0.98
00:08:42.620 I'm currently sleeping.
00:08:45.000 I slept on an angle for three months because I couldn't breathe through my nose.
00:08:52.460 I slept at an angle basically sitting up for four months with Audrey because I couldn't
00:08:56.380 breathe through my nose from pregnancy rhinitis.
00:08:58.920 I'm sleeping with a pillow behind my back, a pillow under my stomach, a pillow behind
00:09:03.580 in between my knees, and I'm waking up every two hours to pee.
00:09:08.320 So I don't really care how Jordan is sleeping.
00:09:10.900 He's sleeping totally fine, but I've actually, we have beds next to each other.
00:09:15.000 not because I'm not head over heels in love with my husband but because I have such a hard time
00:09:20.100 sleeping that if he were to move and wake me up I would might murder him so I'm like I need to get
00:09:25.880 all the sleep I can because I'm not sleeping anyway so you need to be in a different bed or 0.85
00:09:31.060 I'll kill you so he's sleeping just fine thanks for asking how did you know you were ready here
00:09:38.260 24 months postpartum and still dying inside and exhausted I was not ready for this baby at all 0.83
00:09:48.360 I was Audrey was born in May and then we had a horrifyingly traumatizing summer because she had
00:09:58.240 let me see if I can do this without crying but uh she got a cold at three weeks I haven't actually
00:10:05.360 gone into what happened to her on YouTube. But she got a cold at three weeks. And George, who's 0.94
00:10:13.860 a, you know, baby at that time, a year, a year and a half old, he was quite sick. And so we think it
00:10:21.180 was some sort of a, maybe adenovirus or something, but it wasn't sick enough to go to a doctor.
00:10:26.140 She just got a sniffle. That was it. And I was like, oh, lucky we dodged that. And about
00:10:30.440 a week past the sniffle she started projectile vomiting and I brought
00:10:38.120 two doctors over because it was really it didn't feel like reflux or something like that and both
00:10:48.160 doctors said don't worry it's reflux and I was like yeah but this is pretty violent like projectile
00:10:53.940 vomiting and it would happen like once a week it was completely random so she'd just have this one
00:10:59.160 violent like projectile vomit she wasn't upset or anything once a week and then oh and then two
00:11:05.820 weeks into that after I had it checked out with doctors she started getting lethargic and sleepy 0.98
00:11:11.180 and not eating as much and it got to the point where I just had you know mom spidey vibes going
00:11:21.040 off and I was like it feels like she's dying like that seems like a dramatic thing and when you're
00:11:26.180 postpartum you can have these crazy thoughts about the safety of your baby but but I've had
00:11:32.840 I'd had two kids at that point was like I didn't I've never had that feeling before so we went to
00:11:37.460 emergency and she was pretty lethargic and they checked her over and they said she's fine just
00:11:43.620 monitor her intake she can stay over or you guys can go home and I thought okay well let's just go
00:11:49.260 home because I like nobody's sleeping in the hospital and the next day she almost died she
00:11:58.600 wasn't eating and we had our bags packed to go to emergency and oh my gosh it was so awful
00:12:08.360 like she ended up anyway I don't really want to get into the details or I'm just gonna cry and I 0.95
00:12:13.720 wanted this to be a fun episode but she just was lethargic screaming screaming bloody murder and 0.95
00:12:21.520 not in a like my stomach hurts type of way like in a bad way and we called an ambulance when she 1.00
00:12:29.420 kind of like seized up and I thought she had a seizure and I was like call 9-1-1 the ambulance
00:12:34.500 showed up in like the paramedics so the fire department showed up in three minutes and then
00:12:39.800 the ambulance came a couple minutes after that and in the ambulance she turned blue in my arms
00:12:44.780 her whole body turned blue and they put um oxygen on her and we got to the hospital
00:12:51.240 and that night they went through a bunch of diagnoses they were like she has a brain bleed
00:12:58.920 uh and I know some of you guys have asked about vitamin k which I'll get into but first they told
00:13:05.740 me you know that it was my fault because I hadn't done the vitamin k shot with her and I hadn't
00:13:11.300 given her oral vitamin k and they're like she has a brain bleed and you've basically killed her
00:13:16.580 and I was like we were on I was on my knees praying because I like can't imagine something
00:13:24.720 worse than making a medical decision that kind of goes against the mainstream and having it
00:13:32.500 negatively like oh my gosh anyway that night was a very long night and about six so then about six
00:13:42.540 in the morning they go okay it's not a brain bleed but she's still you know on the verge of death and
00:13:47.860 we have no idea why I was like okay well thank god it's not a brain bleed caused by my like
00:13:53.540 negligence basically um so we get transferred to the NICU uh the PQ which is a part of the hospital
00:14:02.340 for like pediatric care and then I get grilled about vaccines and this horrible neurologist
00:14:08.180 that I wish I could remember her name of because I'd send a complaint to the hospital came up and 1.00
00:14:12.540 goes yeah it's gonna take a while to figure out what's wrong with her because you didn't vaccinate
00:14:16.240 keep in mind this baby is six weeks on the dot okay so there's one vaccination at birth which
00:14:23.560 is hep b she clearly doesn't have hep b and she's not due for the other vaccinations yet
00:14:30.360 so my choice to not vaccinate hadn't even impacted her yet but because they knew that that was my
00:14:36.380 choice which i will also get into they're like yeah it's gonna take a while and i was like oh
00:14:40.460 what would we have vaccinated against that could be this and she was like uh because i don't think
00:14:46.540 she was expecting someone to respond to her she was like oh um meningitis and i was like well this
00:14:55.140 is like this isn't meningitis we've already ruled that out anyway but she meningitis isn't even 0.93
00:15:02.200 something that's vaccinated for at six weeks so it was just she was just an awful power hungry 0.94
00:15:08.920 moronic neurologist that came in anyway that hospital it was phoenix children's they saved 0.79
00:15:17.420 they saved audrey and what what it was was actually something called idiopathic pulmonary
00:15:22.820 hypertension and i didn't i hadn't known anything about heart issues but it looks like what happened
00:15:29.080 is when she got that virus for whatever reason her lungs got stressed and it caused pulmonary
00:15:37.880 hypertension which is when one side of your heart gets really big and she couldn't handle it and it
00:15:44.220 kind of spiraled and this happens to one in two million kids there's something called persistent
00:15:55.180 pulmonary hypertension which is which happens right away at birth you can tell they give the
00:15:59.940 baby oxygen sometimes they have to give them some medications to like stabilize their heart and
00:16:05.220 that's much more common but this weird heart issue at six weeks is virtually unheard of now
00:16:11.620 thankfully i took to instagram i asked for prayers and a couple people reached out and were like yeah
00:16:16.740 you know i've seen it um but it hits one in two million babies it was just really bad luck
00:16:23.420 they put her on uh sildenafil which is what men will get from a company like hymns for erectile
00:16:33.320 dysfunction and they use it for pulmonary hypertension uh they stabilized her they
00:16:39.880 they threw everything at her like she was on steroids she was on antibiotics prophylactically
00:16:44.460 she needed a blood transfusion it was horrible we when we got to the hospital they're like you're
00:16:51.340 gonna be here you're gonna live here this is where you live for maybe the next month assuming
00:16:56.340 we can figure it out. We were out in, I think it was 11 days. Um, and then she, that was it. And
00:17:05.160 then I don't even know what else to say about that. She is totally fine now. She's totally
00:17:12.800 fine. She has no heart issues after that episode. Thank God that cardiac, the CV ICU, which is where
00:17:19.600 we stayed those doctors were so good uh I know I go after the mainstream medical system but there
00:17:26.420 are some departments obviously that are just amazing and I'm so impressed with Phoenix Children's
00:17:35.320 Hospital and that cardiac unit um just heartbreaking unit you know it turns out heart issues are fairly
00:17:41.460 common in kids some sort of heart issue and it's very sad so that brings me back to was I ready to
00:17:51.920 have another baby definitely not like we had that horrifyingly traumatic experience in July then
00:18:02.560 in August my dad just deteriorated brutally and he ended up in the hospital and the same day he 0.93
00:18:10.480 went to the hospital by ambulance Audrey went to the hospital again because she turned blue again
00:18:16.840 and this time it was from a UTI and likely caused because she'd been on so much medication
00:18:22.380 that her body just wasn't equipped UTIs are like kind of rare but kind of common they're not
00:18:31.840 associated with being dirty or something I think because she had been on so many antibiotics
00:18:37.280 and was just you know almost died that her body couldn't handle things so she ended up in the
00:18:43.040 hospital again but luckily the UTI was pretty easily treatable anyway and then I got pregnant
00:18:49.820 and I don't remember like October I think and I didn't find out for a while because
00:18:57.580 i hadn't had my cycle like that's how fast i got pregnant i didn't even
00:19:05.860 i have no idea how i got pregnant that quickly i we weren't trying we were obviously weren't
00:19:11.700 being careful but and you know you're supposed to be careful but i didn't think it was possible
00:19:19.020 it's like my body can't handle this like why would that happen so to get back to the question
00:19:24.480 after that long traumatizing rant um how did you know you were ready haha I was not ready I spent
00:19:34.280 a week crying actually I was like I'm not mentally okay for this like I've talked to you guys before
00:19:43.200 I did a pregnancy Q&A years ago or a Q&A at some point where I was like I'm really scared about
00:19:49.720 being pregnant because with scarlet i like had periods of suicidality and that was confounded
00:19:56.680 because i was in antidepressant withdrawal but i was like i can't i i'm scared of that you know i
00:20:02.720 can't get to that point um so i had the same fears with this and praise god as hard as this year was
00:20:11.700 this was one of the easier pregnancies i've had which is shocking because i just had a baby
00:20:19.100 and so you'd think having them in a row would be harder but this one was actually easier
00:20:22.880 and I think partly that's because it's a boy and I know it's an old wives tale to say boys are
00:20:27.340 easier but I think depending on your hormones and how they interact with pregnancy hormones
00:20:31.760 my boy pregnancies have been so much easier than the girl pregnancies so I wasn't ready at all
00:20:37.420 but we did it anyway I would say like having two little kids is really hard
00:20:43.500 but I know what it's like having one because I had Scarlett and then she didn't have a sibling
00:20:50.040 until she was six I think so I did the having one kid and I just always felt kind of
00:20:57.360 bad or sad that and having one kid is better than not having a kid if you can only do one
00:21:04.860 then do one but I always wanted a sibling for her and I felt kind of bad and it's just nice
00:21:09.220 to see George and Audrey together even though they're two and a half and she's she just turned
00:21:15.280 one in May so she's basically a one-year-old but it's so nice to see them interact and things so
00:21:20.560 I'm happy that these three are going to be close together but I am taking a large break after this
00:21:26.720 this is most likely my last unless I don't know I don't know guys but I can't keep doing this
00:21:35.340 it's too much is my audio still working good i recorded this already i did a q a and then i
00:21:42.640 kicked my computer or a cord underneath because i'm kicky and lost all my audio so this is the
00:21:50.380 second time i'm doing this did you have first trimester nausea wondering if carnivore diet
00:21:55.620 helps that so it definitely does help but it's tricky because i've had a meat aversion with the
00:22:02.480 last three pregnancies. I don't really remember it was Scarlett, but it was brutal with George.
00:22:09.780 It was brutal this time. It was so bad in first trimester that I actually introduced other foods
00:22:15.000 because I was gagging. Like I couldn't eat. I was just going to undereat. And you guys might
00:22:20.760 remember with George, I stuck with a diet basically. And I was pretty skinny at the end,
00:22:26.480 like not unhealthy I gained 30 pounds but it was like all in my belly my rings were a bit loose at
00:22:35.060 the end of the pregnancy and I was like oh man you know I wouldn't be on the diet if it didn't
00:22:40.500 stabilize me and if I didn't need it for autoimmune issues but it was so hard with meat aversion and
00:22:45.500 this time I was like I just did this I can't do it again I need some other foods so I started
00:22:51.000 chicken arugula. I had some coconut mango ice cream, which is so good after not eating those
00:22:58.540 foods for so long. Um, and I kind of got through first trimester like that. I also had avocados.
00:23:03.980 So like super clean, but just to get enough calories in second trimester, I was back to just
00:23:08.900 meat, no meat aversion, totally fine, much more stable emotionally. Uh, and that's hormonal,
00:23:15.380 but also because of the diet. And then at about 31 weeks, the meat aversion came back.
00:23:21.000 full swing like and I was starting to get hangry and my husband was like you need to eat you need
00:23:29.420 to eat sorry for all the likes my brain is mush right now uh so I started eating chicken arugula
00:23:36.820 again which basically dampened down the steak aversion so I could have steak in the morning
00:23:41.300 and the afternoon and then I'd have some other foods at night when the meat aversion was worse
00:23:45.300 and then recently I'm back on the meat aversion is gone so I'm back on just meat and I feel a lot
00:23:51.060 better um did that even answer the question I was answering oh nausea yeah it does help it helps a
00:23:59.980 lot actually uh some people get hit with brutal nausea vomiting with scarlet when I was on a more
00:24:06.920 varied diet I was doing kind of a keto diet it was my nausea was super dependent on what I ate
00:24:12.540 and I actually I ended up throwing up a few times and some people get hit a lot harder than that
00:24:17.340 but it was each time I ate something that didn't agree with me I'd throw up so I would say if
00:24:23.160 you're suffering from severe it's hard to it's hard to avoid the nausea and it's hard to avoid
00:24:30.800 the nausea but if you have vomiting it's worth trying to cut down and see if it's what you're
00:24:37.660 eating because it was definitely causing vomiting for me with scarlet for the last two i haven't had
00:24:45.860 any vomiting so luck i think diet plays a huge role um but first trimester nausea is pretty
00:24:57.860 normal that's kind of hard to avoid if you get rid of everything fragranced in your home which
00:25:02.560 you should do anyway that helps and then being careful about what you eat how will you manage
00:25:08.760 being a mom with work how can I be successful in both okay so I need I need my work to stay sane
00:25:18.580 and with Scarlett I was a stay-at-home mom for 11 months and I started working when she was about
00:25:27.320 six six months old but she was on my lap and I was working on a laptop at home and I needed that
00:25:33.580 I needed that kind of work escape and I have friends that are stay-at-home moms full-time 0.97
00:25:39.580 and they love it and good for those women honestly because keeping a house maintained
00:25:46.460 doing all the extracurriculars that kids eventually do taking care of kids taking care of a newborn
00:25:51.980 taking care of toddlers it is a full-time job it is way harder than a full-time job
00:25:56.500 like that is constant work and it's and it's over stimulating as well and it is hard
00:26:05.240 it's way harder than than going to work now depends what your work is but most like corporate
00:26:12.620 jobs or things like that it's way harder what I would say for women who want to do both is like 0.78
00:26:21.660 make sure you can take enough time off when you have the baby because how you feel before you have 0.98
00:26:28.360 the baby and how you feel when you have the baby will change like when you have the baby
00:26:31.540 you are going to want to be with the baby even if you're not that maternal of a person
00:26:36.240 when they're really little even if you're not that maternal of a person and I would say I'm
00:26:43.000 a pretty if I do say so myself I'm a pretty compassionate person like I care a lot uh but I
00:26:49.860 I wouldn't say I'm the most maternal person I always knew I wanted to have kids but um
00:26:56.000 but that wasn't and I was like I would do everything I could to have kids but I also
00:27:03.420 wanted to do a bunch of other things I don't want to insult anybody here but like
00:27:08.240 that wasn't enough for me and I would have ended up getting resentful if I just stayed home and
00:27:14.480 had kids and I don't want to be resentful that's not good for my kids the way I manage it to be
00:27:20.700 perfectly honest is I have a lot of help and I don't think this is talked about enough from
00:27:27.000 people who have help like especially women who work a lot they have help almost always and it's
00:27:36.460 generally more than just doing daycare and going to work and a lot of women will do something like
00:27:41.380 daycare and go to work um when I had Scarlett I had no money like not no money but I was really
00:27:48.840 living in debt and I was separated and I spent all my money on my condo and a nanny and so I wasn't
00:27:59.120 making money working I was really just paying for the condo and the nanny and going into a bit of
00:28:04.180 debt. And I thought, well, I'll make it work eventually. Uh, and so in order, I think in
00:28:11.480 order to manage being a mom with work, you need to make sure you have a support system. 0.58
00:28:19.160 So your husband needs to be on board and hire help. If you can hire help, hiring help has been,
00:28:26.720 I wouldn't have this many kids, these, this many kids if I didn't have help. So hiring help
00:28:33.220 actually enabled me to have more children and I think that's why you can see some celebrities that
00:28:39.660 have four or five kids and they're like well how do they do that they have a lot of help and so I
00:28:45.600 have something called a rota nanny which there's two women on rotation and they come stay with me
00:28:53.820 for a week at a time or stay with us and we have like a guest suite and they're here 24 hours a day
00:28:59.780 seven days a week so if I have a business meeting I suddenly need to go to I don't have to organize
00:29:05.120 anything they're just there if I have a trip that I want to go fly to for a day I don't take very
00:29:12.080 long trips a day or two I can just go uh the nannies that I have are like family to me I've
00:29:19.160 been working with them for quite a while now last year when Audrey was in the hospital we were
00:29:24.740 staying overnight like we were there 24 hours a day monitoring the situation at the hospital
00:29:29.720 monitoring what medication she was given although obviously there wasn't much much leeway there
00:29:34.720 but we wouldn't have been able to get up and go we had George at home and Scarlett was at her dad's
00:29:41.860 luckily for like that portion of it but there was a one and a half year old at home and we were able
00:29:47.740 to go and stay with Audrey at the hospital where it was really needed for 11 days because I have
00:29:52.500 this help set up and it's expensive so that's not it's not like I'm giving people being like oh just
00:29:59.700 get rota nannies you have to you have to pay a lot for rota nannies but what I did for Scarlett
00:30:05.680 was I had someone who came nine to five five days a week and I could barely afford that and that was
00:30:12.820 fantastic it's just it's nice to make a relationship with somebody so that you feel comfortable leaving
00:30:19.540 your kid with someone who's basically like family and I think the reason people were able to have
00:30:25.740 more kids back in the day was because they had family helping them they had grandparents they
00:30:30.700 had aunts and uncles they had a community we don't have that anymore and so you need to make that
00:30:35.280 yourself and you have to figure out how to prioritize that yourself and it's not a waste
00:30:38.980 of money because it's your kids it's your mental well-being and you need a little community and we
00:30:48.040 like I definitely didn't have a community at all uh we aren't near Jordan's family
00:30:55.600 otherwise I know that they would be helpful my family's like swamped and with dads especially
00:31:02.880 this year like dad's health issues they have plenty to do they don't have time to come over
00:31:07.560 and help with kids I needed people that were reliable that I really liked that were here
00:31:12.820 that are like family so that's how I do it um and then you have to weigh the benefits and cons
00:31:19.780 like I fully believe you can be successful at both I think it's beneficial for children
00:31:26.860 to one not have a resentful mother but two to see their mom going out and doing things I think
00:31:32.560 that's completely healthy I think that was the norm uh but you're gonna miss things that way
00:31:40.580 for sure. So you have to be okay with that. And
00:31:44.780 you have, you have to really think about it, you know, and maybe you only want to hire somebody
00:31:52.420 for three or four hours a day to get out and do things. Like maybe that's enough for you.
00:31:58.640 If you want to do nine to five, I mean, it's all fine. I, it's, I have a really,
00:32:05.440 I want to use the word privilege. Cause I worked really hard to get here. I like
00:32:08.700 really did and I prioritize this but I'm at home most of the time so I'm kind of like
00:32:13.100 stay at home mumming if there's ever some sort of emergency or a kid gets sick or they hurt
00:32:20.080 themselves and cry I can just pop over to like the other side of the house and give them a pat
00:32:27.480 or they can come run and get me but I'm able to work full-time because I have people here
00:32:34.160 so that's how I do it and honestly that I think that's how a lot of people who have who run a
00:32:40.920 business or have a lot of work that's what they do is they have help they definitely have help at
00:32:45.780 night so that they can sleep that's something I would actually recommend for anybody who can
00:32:53.060 afford that or if you're asking for presents because you're having a baby ask for money for
00:32:58.620 a night nurse even just once a week or twice a week during that first postpartum time the first
00:33:05.220 three months I would say but the first six weeks in particular so that you can sleep a little bit
00:33:10.160 because I didn't have that with Scarlett at all and I remember at six weeks holding her in the
00:33:15.240 kitchen like rocking back and forth like near hallucinating out of sleep deprivation and it was
00:33:24.300 so hard I was so isolated and it was so hard to do that by myself that I made a concerted effort
00:33:34.520 that I was like if I'm going to have more kids I'm going to set this up so I don't freak out so
00:33:39.400 it's not stressful like that on me and I need to make enough money to make that happen and
00:33:44.120 that hasn't been the prime that's been near to the top of the primary goal of me making more money
00:33:50.340 was I want to have a lot of kids I want to have help I want this to be a fun experience and not
00:33:54.980 traumatizing so huge fan of getting help and you don't have to have mom guilt for having some help
00:34:03.140 because everybody used to have help with big families and we don't have that anymore
00:34:07.620 so talk to your husband and really figure out what works for you guys but get some help and
00:34:13.760 don't feel bad about it this is another man question how does this impact your sex life
00:34:18.940 reasonable question pretty badly a pregnant woman isn't the same woman you married 0.73
00:34:27.360 they're not the same person I'm certainly not the same person and knowing that and knowing that it's
00:34:36.460 a season of your life there's the pregnancy season then there's the postpartum season
00:34:42.900 And in the greater scheme of things over your life, it's not very long. So you shouldn't treat
00:34:49.000 the pregnancy season as if that's something that's representative of your relationship or
00:34:55.240 your life. And you shouldn't treat the postpartum season as if that's representative of your
00:35:00.060 relationship or your life. It's kind of a seasons that you need to get through together and give
00:35:09.120 each other as much grace and compassion as you can and recognize that it's really short when you
00:35:17.020 look back on it like it goes by in a flash when you're in it it seems like it's forever especially
00:35:22.120 if it's your first and you're like scared but it really goes by quite quickly and Jordan and I
00:35:31.640 are really good and this is because Jordan's very stable but really good at being like okay
00:35:38.000 this is the year we do this and so it's not like your ideal relationship my ideal relationship
00:35:48.340 certainly isn't me when I'm pregnant at all like we haven't gone out on a date
00:35:53.460 I don't know in at least four months or five or something because I'm so grumpy and
00:36:04.040 my back hurts like i'm slouching right now actually because my back hurts i'm on a bouncy ball because
00:36:09.940 i can't sit on a chair and so it's like how is this impacting your sex life oh well i don't
00:36:14.660 really want to be touched so quite a lot you know you're getting touched by a baby all the time
00:36:21.760 it's very overstimulating even kids coming in they're like mom and there's like lots of hugs
00:36:27.540 and things i'm like part of me is like oh i'm so touched out i'm so touched out and i think that's
00:36:33.500 partly from having kids close together where it's like I'm already overstimulated but yeah it
00:36:38.140 definitely negatively impacts mine but not long term so just take the whole thing with a lot of
00:36:48.060 grace because I think kind of the last thing on your wife's mind when she's pregnant is
00:36:55.320 how fun this is gonna be for you as a man and then that can breed to like resentment where
00:37:04.940 man gets resentful about like why am I not getting this and this which totally fair like
00:37:11.080 your relationship entirely changes the woman gets hurt because she's being guilt guilted and pushed
00:37:15.840 on and is sore and isn't sleeping and is nauseous and kind of disgusting feeling and he just kind
00:37:23.360 of gotta grin and bear it and remember that this isn't your relationship this is pregnancy
00:37:29.020 someone said how do you maintain your weight I feel like a hippo I also feel like a hippo
00:37:34.820 my weight is just I just don't gain extra weight purely because of my diet I'm not doing anything
00:37:42.340 else only eating meat you just won't you don't get fat during pregnancy if you only eat meat
00:37:50.600 but if you have a meat aversion and a lot of pregnant women do that is very very very difficult
00:37:57.000 and so I'm not even recommending it as a diet during pregnancy I probably think it's not ideal 0.99
00:38:05.620 you should probably be eating other things you should probably gain a bit of weight
00:38:09.080 for breastfeeding so that's how I maintain my weight but it's out of necessity
00:38:17.000 mostly for for arthritis but also for psych stability otherwise I wouldn't recommend it
00:38:25.000 but you you can definitely control weight during pregnancy by just not
00:38:28.300 going crazy with your food and I know how I know how difficult that is but it is controllable
00:38:36.320 um it's not just genetic people like to be like well not genetic no it's it's what you're eating
00:38:43.000 but it's really hard during pregnancy because you're starving all the time starving in full
00:38:48.140 kind of you only want certain foods like turns you into a monster food monster so it's controllable
00:38:57.440 but it was only really controllable for me because I'm kind of insane and recently more recently when
00:39:07.260 I was eating chicken and arugula along with a steak I started getting arthritis again so the
00:39:11.980 last time I talked to you guys I was like hey I've managed to introduce some foods and there's
00:39:15.980 no arthritis and that seemed to be okay in first trimester although then I ended up getting a
00:39:20.620 gallbladder attack and went back to just eating meat pretty quickly after actually I put out a
00:39:26.040 video and was like I'm reintroducing foods and then I had a gallbladder attack and was like well
00:39:29.520 not anymore um but more recently third trimester I started getting arthritis from I don't know if
00:39:37.660 it was from arugula or chicken that was literally all I was eating and it took a number of weeks but
00:39:43.220 about four weeks into it I started getting arthritis and so anyway I don't want that
00:39:48.900 back on just meat now because my meat aversion is gone but yeah so you can maintain your weight
00:39:56.840 during pregnancy but also gaining weight isn't a problem you don't want to get into the diabetes
00:40:02.180 situation because you gain too much weight you can get gestational diabetes more easily uh you
00:40:09.800 don't want that so you should be monitoring what you're eating and trying to eat healthy
00:40:13.160 you could do a paleo diet really easily during pregnancy
00:40:17.420 that's probably the safest bet paleo diet don't eat the processed foods you can just eat the
00:40:24.380 healthy foods and the cravings are kind of there regardless you don't really fix them
00:40:29.460 by even eating the foods you crave so you kind of just it's kind of just the downside of pregnancy
00:40:34.520 you have to just get through it how do i overcome my fear of pregnancy okay
00:40:41.000 this seems really hippy dippy but you should buy a hypnobirthing book
00:40:47.320 you should buy some audiobooks about hypnobirthing and listen to those like you're a hippie
00:40:54.060 and they're they're kind of cheesy to begin with especially if you're less of a you know spiritual
00:41:01.000 woo-woo type of person but they're really helpful like the positive affirmations and I'm not a
00:41:08.920 positive affirmation type of person but the positive affirmations through that you just
00:41:14.160 try to brainwash yourself into not being scared so your goal is to brainwash yourself into not
00:41:20.540 being scared. And hypnobirthing can help a lot with that. They go into the statistics around
00:41:25.800 home births, things like that. And that really helped me with Scarlett. I was already pretty
00:41:34.640 anti-hospital at that point. So it resonated with me as well. In case I don't get to. So yeah,
00:41:43.500 how do you overcome your fear of pregnancy? Read positive birth stories and positive experiences
00:41:48.600 and don't read any of the negative stuff it is basically what you feed yourself there's so much
00:41:54.240 fear-mongering around pregnancy birth brutal fear-mongering around birth which is so hard
00:42:02.740 with your first two like I remember I was gonna have a home birth I had a home birth with Scarlett
00:42:07.640 that was my first and like last trimester weeks before I was gonna give birth somebody I know
00:42:14.060 quite well was like oh I knew somebody who had a home birth and their baby died and I was just I
00:42:20.940 was so mad because I'd spent all this time brainwashing myself into being like it's 0.58
00:42:26.200 it's healthy I'm meant to do this my body has is good at this every woman in my lineage has done
00:42:33.760 this it's natural and then just to be like bombarded by that negativity when you're in
00:42:38.760 such a sensitive state is really hard so try to avoid all that and brainwash yourself and the
00:42:44.680 whole point of pregnancy is to have a baby the pregnancy part sucks the baby part is amazing
00:42:50.740 there's nothing like it otherwise I wouldn't be doing this again oh it's so I'm so looking forward
00:42:57.840 to having this baby and having the newborn phase where it's just it's the closest thing to heaven
00:43:04.220 on earth and it's really emotional and there's a lot of weeping like I'm gonna cry for the first
00:43:11.240 two weeks and it's gonna feel bad but there's gonna be such beauty and like bonding and love
00:43:17.200 so much love in that ah there's nothing like it so read positive things and stop reading the
00:43:25.340 negative things and don't talk to people who are negative about it that's so not helpful I know
00:43:31.840 that there are questions in here about home birth so I'll just answer that before I get to another 0.69
00:43:37.320 one but I am planning on doing a home birth again I only recommend home births for people who are
00:43:45.960 comfortable with the idea I think the best place for you to have your baby is wherever you feel
00:43:50.760 safest so for me I especially with Scarlett I was having panic attacks going into hospitals
00:43:57.760 like I had a serious PTSD type aversion to hospitals because of all the medical stuff
00:44:04.740 I've been through and I was like if I go into a hospital I am going to freak out and I don't
00:44:10.000 want to freak out while I'm having a baby so I brainwashed myself I read all the statistics too
00:44:14.460 like home births are super safe if you have a low risk pregnancy you can avoid a lot of problems
00:44:22.320 having a home birth. If you're calm and everything's looking good, you need a good
00:44:27.980 midwife. You need someone who can tell if it's appropriate to have a home birth, all that stuff.
00:44:33.220 But I've had three home births with Audrey and with Scarlett. Honestly, they were, with Scarlett,
00:44:40.720 it was so fast. The midwife didn't believe that I was giving birth. So you're supposed to have 0.94
00:44:46.400 two show up in Toronto and one showed up because she was like, oh, it's too fast. She sucked though. 1.00
00:44:51.520 She also got me to get out of the birth tub and get on my back in bed to do cervix measuring when I was at the point of pushing, basically, because she couldn't see. 0.97
00:45:06.800 If any doctor, if anybody tells you you have to do something like that while you're giving birth, you can just say no.
00:45:13.280 i knew i was like the baby is coming out you don't need you to look at my vagina for me to know that
00:45:21.640 thank you and i ended up tearing a bit because i was on my back which increases the risk of tears
00:45:26.160 so that midwife sucked but my current midwife is amazing and these births have been as easy
00:45:34.880 as a birth could be uh even though they're very painful and intense but they're fast so i'm
00:45:43.800 planning on having a home birth again and that's assuming everything goes smoothly which i hope it
00:45:48.680 will um i really like home births and being able to like lie in bed with my baby afterwards
00:45:54.180 but i've been you know lucky to not i haven't gone over i had scarlet at 40 weeks i had george at 36
00:46:03.420 weeks and one day which is like the cutoff for being able to have a home birth in arizona you
00:46:08.800 can't and shouldn't be at home if your baby comes earlier than that in case they need extra help
00:46:14.120 at audrey at 38 weeks and two days which was great i'm hoping to hit that mark again but 0.78
00:46:20.320 but yeah you shouldn't be pressured into a home birth if you're in part of the kind of like
00:46:25.580 health-minded community
00:46:27.460 if you want to do it at a hospital that's totally fine and you can bring a piece of paper that has
00:46:35.080 all your requests so i want the lights low i want people to talk to my husband and not to me that's
00:46:41.640 a big one um make sure your husband is prepped to kind of be your guardian in the hospital so
00:46:48.160 those are some hospital tips uh bring an eye mask i'd probably bring earplugs and things so you don't
00:46:57.040 have to hear beeping the the entire point how you make a normal healthy birth go well is to stay
00:47:04.780 calm if you stay calm your oxytocin goes up your contractions increase if you get stressed out and
00:47:10.860 your cortisol goes up your oxytocin goes down like in so if you go to a hospital and stress out
00:47:16.500 you're going to have a longer more painful labor because your oxytocin is suppressed by cortisol
00:47:20.740 and then that's more likely to lead to pitocin which is like chemical oxytocin pitocin can
00:47:29.020 sometimes make contractions stronger than they are naturally which hurts that leads to an epidural
00:47:34.060 that can lead to having trouble pushing but then you can also just have a totally fine time get an
00:47:39.000 epidural have the baby don't freak out do your makeup you see that on instagram all the time
00:47:44.080 and I think you know kudos to you any type any way you have a baby is impressive so 0.61
00:47:51.260 that's my opinion on that did you plan two pregnancies this close together I know I didn't
00:47:59.980 my poor body yeah no I certainly did not Allison said congrats I'm 26 weeks any cravings that
00:48:07.840 outside of your normal diet yeah cucumbers have just been my craving for every pregnancy
00:48:16.780 and then I had a cucumber this time finally when I was eating arugula and having some mango ice
00:48:24.920 cream and trying to get through first trimester I had a cucumber and my whole face got itchy
00:48:29.340 and it didn't taste as good as I remembered it kind of just tasted like a plant like grassy
00:48:34.780 and I remember cucumbers being different than I guess they are so that kind of eliminated the
00:48:42.500 cucumber craving I was like oh it kind of just tastes like nothing with grass and crunch
00:48:48.980 maybe I was thinking of a pickle or something all the foods honestly that I've eaten this pregnancy
00:48:57.180 and there haven't been very many of them to get through the meat aversions haven't hit whatever
00:49:02.660 I want them to hit so when I started eating chicken wings and arugula recently in the third
00:49:09.480 trimester to get through that like month of meat aversion I got sick of it and I guess you can say
00:49:15.220 yeah duh you're only eating three foods of course you get sick of the three foods but I was like I
00:49:20.680 really want to get back to the meat diet because I feel better on it and I'm like tired of eating
00:49:25.500 so much you have to eat so much food when you don't just eat meat it's it's crazy I was eating
00:49:32.680 all the time because you have some chicken wings chicken wings like don't feed you I was eating a
00:49:37.400 lot of chicken wings too a lot of chickens went down and arugula is a joke like arugula you could
00:49:44.840 probably eat an entire field of arugula and not get full and I was so tired of eating so much and
00:49:50.480 so now that I'm back to just eating meat it's like yeah I can take more time between the meals
00:49:56.980 I'm not constantly thinking about food and my mood is better and more stable oh it's just so
00:50:03.540 much better boy or girl or will the kindergarten teacher decide this is a boy this is a boy I'm
00:50:11.040 gonna have two boys and two girls now which is very cool and I think that's why my pregnancy
00:50:15.480 this time has been more doable thank goodness with the stress of this year I was worried about
00:50:21.680 some serious mental issues and other than up until the last month I've been crying every day
00:50:33.220 I haven't had it any worse than that I'm not saying it's been like good because it hasn't
00:50:40.700 been good i have literally been crying every day but that was mostly my dad being sick
00:50:47.060 mixed with pregnancy hormones but like mostly my dad being sick and
00:50:51.060 but it wasn't worse than that which is what i was worried about
00:50:54.920 i have a bunch of people asking how many kids i want and if i want more after this
00:51:04.680 this seems like a lot four seems like a lot four seems like
00:51:08.440 as many as i can handle
00:51:11.840 now maybe in like nine years or maybe like six or seven years i'll be like oh i remember having
00:51:21.660 a baby maybe i want a baby again but five kids i never thought i was gonna have this many kids
00:51:27.180 i thought i would have three because mom and dad always said oh i wish we had had more like they
00:51:34.900 always said that when I was growing up so I was like okay they wanted more than two so maybe I
00:51:38.780 should have three but this fourth one snuck in my husband when we met he was like I want five
00:51:44.200 children and I was like okay probably not to that but but now that he's been dealing with me through
00:51:55.240 multiple pregnancies he's like maybe you know what three seems like a lot four seems like a lot
00:52:00.000 it's like yeah it does it is a lot so we'll see there's no plans for any in the future
00:52:06.120 but six years is a long time you never know
00:52:10.160 i'm obviously in an easier having an easier day or i'd be like hell no
00:52:19.500 yeah there's that are you gonna try a home birth congratulations on a baby yes i am i have
00:52:29.380 my birth tub actually we ordered it oh and i'm gonna link all my favorite products below if
00:52:36.360 people want to check them out i'm going to do a separate video for products but the home birth
00:52:39.860 kit is there as well so that's linked in the description um but i'm i'm prepared have you
00:52:47.260 struggled to parent whilst feeling so sick so yeah yeah like like i said before thank goodness
00:52:58.480 I have help I would not be able to do this I would not be able to do this without the help
00:53:03.780 um but yeah there's definitely some guilt because my other babies are so
00:53:09.060 little they're so little and I have to like nap and I'm tired and my back is murdering me
00:53:17.700 um especially near the end I'm like sorry I have to be in bed
00:53:23.660 like I'm overstimulated when I go into the living room even like there's too many noises I'm like
00:53:29.880 oh I feel like I should be in a cave right now I need to hide under the covers and so then yeah I
00:53:35.120 do feel guilty but I think I've had enough kids too that I'm like yeah I know that they're good
00:53:40.420 with the nannies I'm here they know that I'm here my husband sees them
00:53:46.420 no it's still hard yeah it's hard but I don't think you have three kids close together and
00:53:56.640 it isn't hard I think that's just part of it oh okay well I talked about vitamin k
00:54:02.440 and vaccines and I might as well talk about that so with scarlet I did oral vitamin k
00:54:08.840 and if you look at the literature you can get oral drops of vitamin k and it's just as effective for
00:54:13.740 blood clotting as the injection and I will try to remember to link the paper so people can look
00:54:21.520 at dosage there so I did oral vitamin k with scarlet when I had George I was like I'm not
00:54:27.740 doing anything and there's kind of the two arguments for vitamin k is there's the mainstream argument
00:54:34.060 which is vitamin k levels are too low there's a very very very very very small chance of bleeding
00:54:42.460 and then these delayed brain bleeds which are like basically deadly very very very small chance
00:54:50.260 and if we can reduce it we should just eliminate it so they give you a vitamin k they give the
00:54:54.220 baby a vitamin k shot that has preservatives in the hospital and i guess their i want to say liver
00:55:01.460 stores that level of vitamin k and slowly releases it over the next six months till their vitamin k
00:55:06.620 levels are normal so that's the mainstream argument and then the kind of hippie argument is
00:55:11.320 well maybe vitamin k levels are supposed to be low and that's why they're low and uh so I
00:55:18.360 I was more listening to that because I assume after everything I've been through that
00:55:22.920 less intervention is better and no wonder I was injured by medication that I was told was safe
00:55:31.960 neurologically injured potentially permanently now it's a lot better but I've seen what it did
00:55:38.940 to my dad i have an autoimmune disorder that i've had since i was two we don't know why was it
00:55:45.400 vaccines we don't know okay it certainly wasn't some gene they've figured out it's mitigated by
00:55:53.660 diet but the fact that i can still eat arugula and chicken and get some joint pain something's
00:56:00.840 up with my immune system was it mold was it vaccines we don't know so i said no to vitamin
00:56:05.940 k for george george was fine then for audrey also didn't know vitamin k she was fine but then at six
00:56:12.440 weeks she had this heart issue and because she was hospitalized there was so much hubbub about the
00:56:19.180 vitamin k that i don't want to go through that again so on i'm planning on doing oral drops for
00:56:29.280 this baby because i think the dangers i can't really figure out what the dangers are of improving
00:56:36.380 vitamin k through oral drops with no preservatives i can't find any risks associated with that but i
00:56:44.000 do know that i seem to be and my family seems to be weirdly unlucky and i talked before about
00:56:51.200 spiritual attacks and was made fun of about that but i don't care like you you know you think well
00:57:00.400 that's not going to happen to me but it seems to repeatedly happen to me even this thing that
00:57:05.400 happened with audrey that hits one in two million kids and they they were just like i don't know
00:57:08.960 it just happened i was like okay cool so i'm doing oral vitamin k on the off chance we end
00:57:17.800 up in the hospital and it's an issue again which is like I don't think it's going to happen but
00:57:22.500 it happened last time so I'll link the oral vitamin k drops I'm going to use which are
00:57:28.280 similar to the ones I used for scarlet it's just vitamin k and mct oil you give it I believe for
00:57:34.680 the first three days and then once a week after that so that's my plan for vitamin k and I am
00:57:42.580 not vaccinating uh because i have a very severe autoimmune disorder and we don't know what caused
00:57:50.140 it and until there's more research about the safety i am not interested in taking that risk
00:57:54.980 with my child or children do you take supplements this is a good one for pregnancy i normally take
00:57:59.860 nothing i normally just eat meat done that for years when i got hit by mold and diagnosed with
00:58:05.920 SIRS and got pregnant with George, I started taking folinic acid, which is a form of folate
00:58:12.620 and really low folate levels can be associated with cleft lips and spina bifida, pretty severe
00:58:23.300 problems. And so throughout this, because of my restricted diet, and I would recommend other
00:58:27.780 people do this, I test all my vitamins periodically throughout the pregnancy. And I do treat any
00:58:34.920 deficiencies and so far that's really been folate and part of that could be because I only eat meat
00:58:42.580 so part of it's that part of it could be because I've had repeated babies and that just depletes
00:58:50.580 you you need a lot so I've I was taking folinic acid at the beginning of this pregnancy and the
00:58:55.480 last one periodically after that I find it pretty tolerable but that's that's it oh and I also took
00:59:03.280 some thiamine which is b1 so if you're suffering with autoimmunity or psychiatric issues and
00:59:11.520 you're planning on getting pregnant i would start trying those vitamins and making sure you don't
00:59:16.520 react to them because i know i react terribly to methylfolate folic acid is off the table
00:59:21.140 obviously i can't take most b vitamins without getting really weird neurological symptoms like
00:59:27.100 insomnia hyper stimulation crawling sensations very unpleasant I kind of turned into a monster
00:59:36.480 I yell a lot so figure out the vitamins you can tolerate probably but I definitely recommend
00:59:44.360 testing during pregnancy and adjusting any deficiencies we're having children later this
00:59:50.600 year hopefully any advice for us men what can we do that's nice so I would say try to help lower
01:00:00.120 stress and remember that this is a season like we talked about earlier this is not going to last for
01:00:07.240 very long it's nine-ish months and there's the postpartum period it's not over when you have
01:00:14.240 the baby the first three months are gnarly and it's really six months but the first three months
01:00:18.660 are just total write-off that woman is still basically pregnant with a baby on the outside 1.00
01:00:26.640 you know and so I would say try to remove as much stress from your wife's plate as you can
01:00:31.960 understand that the hormonal fluctuations and the weeping and the yelling and the frustration
01:00:37.680 isn't her but she's experiencing all of these it's real you know I explained to my husband
01:00:44.780 this year I was like I know I like I don't cry normally I've cried every day
01:00:49.660 and I've told him I was like people look at pregnant people weeping and they think
01:00:56.000 well she's just pregnant she's just crying it just feels like you normally feel but you're
01:01:02.820 extra sad so it's not like you're just okay with crying all of a sudden you're just extra sad
01:01:08.460 it's really hard and it's super weird just because your wife's a woman doesn't mean being pregnant
01:01:17.640 feels natural like I feel like there's a fish living inside me and my back hurts and my ribs 0.99
01:01:23.300 hurt and I'm stretching and this doesn't feel good like it doesn't it's like oh this is a natural
01:01:30.380 state of being doesn't feel like that it's really uncomfortable the hormonal fluctuations are awful
01:01:35.940 the mood changes are awful the food cravings and the nausea is awful so try to take as much stress
01:01:41.780 off your wife's plate as you can because she will be a more enjoyable person to be around
01:01:45.940 if she's not stressed and you might have to help her recognize what stresses her out
01:01:51.420 and try to take that away that would that's i think that's the most helpful thing you can do
01:01:56.660 is what's stressing you out let me handle it because it's so much easier for you to handle
01:02:01.620 than for a pregnant woman to handle so that and then keep her fed
01:02:09.880 yeah and be be nice to each other because it's not a very long period of time and it's a really
01:02:19.500 hard period of time and it takes out a lot of relationships especially the postpartum period
01:02:24.140 and i think it partly does that because honestly because men don't realize what a shift it is for
01:02:31.360 women. Like when you have a baby, it's crazy. People can see in MRIs that your brain changes.
01:02:38.600 And as a man, your brain changes too, but not like it does as a woman. And so 1.00
01:02:42.080 your entire world is surrounded by keeping this baby alive in your relationship with this baby.
01:02:47.800 And as a man, you should be there protecting that relationship during the pregnancy and during the
01:02:55.440 postpartum period. So during the postpartum period, that would look like potentially
01:03:00.420 warding off invaders during the postpartum period it's like oh you know so and so wants to come over
01:03:06.940 and say hi yeah but has your wife still bleeding has it been like three days and they want to come
01:03:11.560 over and take the baby away from your wife is that going to stress her out is that necessary
01:03:16.240 it's not necessary your wife being taken care of is what's necessary so just be the gatekeeper be
01:03:23.400 the protector that's what my husband says protector be the protector during this very
01:03:29.040 sensitive period of time and it'll be so good for your relationship that's my Q&A I did it I'm
01:03:37.000 gonna go lie down and I'll do products that I like I think after this baby is out of me
01:03:43.420 because I can't do this again this is my last this is it this is it guys I will talk to you
01:03:49.920 when I have the child
01:03:51.960 bye
