00:00:46.060 human rights tribunal. Yeah, this is not hate speech, and it's not discrimination that he engaged in.

00:02:31.760 reads, the BC Human Rights Tribunal has ordered former Chilliwack school trustee Barry Neufeld to pay

00:02:38.500 $750,000 for violating the Human Rights Code by publishing hate speech and discriminatory content

00:02:45.620 against 2x LGBTQ plus people. Quote, Mr. Neufeld invoked negative and insidious stereotypes of

00:02:53.420 LGBTQ people, especially trans people, which deny their inherent dignity and in some cases reflected 0.99

00:04:35.000 them with the worst forms of child abuse, said the tribunal members, adding that the effect was

00:04:40.140 discriminatory work environment, was a discriminatory work environment for 2SLGBTQ plus teachers in the

00:04:46.380 district. Neufeld does not respond to CBC News' request for comment by publication deadline.
