00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here.
00:00:02.760 Remember how we were all supposed to be in a patriotic elbows-up mode against America?
00:00:08.840 We weren't supposed to travel to the U.S.
00:00:10.760 We were supposed to stay in Canada and keep our tourism dollars here.
00:00:14.920 Go and explore the natural beauty of Canada.
00:00:18.340 Go to the countryside on a hike, on a bike ride.
00:00:21.160 Go on a picnic with your family.
00:00:23.400 Well, at least don't do it in the Maritimes,
00:00:26.340 because if you attempt to do it in the Maritimes,
00:00:28.700 you will get a knee put in your back and have to either pay a $25,000 or more fine,
00:00:34.940 like Jeff Everly just experienced,
00:00:37.360 or in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador,
00:00:40.620 you could be put in prison for six months.
00:00:44.080 We don't even put people who joined ISIS in prison for that amount of time.
00:00:48.960 We, in fact, let violent criminals and people who are repeat offenders out on bail
00:00:53.980 after many offenses.
00:00:55.640 But if you dare go and eat a pre-made sandwich in a park,
00:01:01.620 oh my goodness, you better hope that Tim Houston isn't on the job,
00:01:06.520 because he's going to sprint in there, like, tackle you,
00:01:09.080 put you over the hood of a police car,
00:01:10.780 and make sure that you're never going to see the light of day again.
00:01:13.740 Okay, I'm going to get into this video and start talking about some of these,
00:01:19.120 like, crisis, these emergency orders that have been coming out in provinces like
00:01:23.580 Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland.
00:01:27.140 I assume that PEI will eventually do it too, because why not?
00:01:31.620 If there is a silver lining in all of this,
00:01:34.000 I hope it's that it wakes up a lot of Canadians to realizing
00:01:37.160 just how easily its governments go authoritarian,
00:01:40.960 just how little respect they really have for people's charter rights.
00:01:44.420 This isn't even things that you would see in Europe.
00:01:47.980 European countries would have riots if people suggested that you couldn't go on a hike.
00:01:52.800 Not starting a fire, not creating a fire, just walking.
00:01:55.960 Walking, that is too much.
00:01:58.700 And I was on a podcast the other day, I was on Rebel News' live show,
00:02:02.720 and it was pointed out that wouldn't it be good to actually have people in provincial parks
00:02:07.340 if you are worried about fire?
00:02:09.480 Yeah, don't let people have fires.
00:02:11.440 You know, find someone if they have a bonfire. 0.92
00:02:13.180 No one's that stupid if you put up all the right signs and you give out those announcements. 0.94
00:02:17.520 But wouldn't it be good to have people sitting around having picnics 0.98
00:02:20.300 and being in a little spot if fires were starting?
00:02:22.600 Or if someone was trying to commit arson,
00:02:24.440 like we have seen in provinces like Saskatchewan,
00:02:27.140 a volunteer firefighter that started 30 fires himself,
00:02:31.540 that was an actual thing that happened.
00:02:33.560 So anytime people are pretending that arson does not have to do with the yearly fires
00:02:38.440 is kidding themselves.
00:02:39.780 Is it the majority of it?
00:02:41.260 No, but it's creating a lot more fire to deal with
00:02:45.140 than we should actually, you know, have to.
00:02:47.960 And plus, arsonists aren't going way out in the middle of the woods and starting fires.
00:02:51.440 Their goal is starting fires closer to large cities.
00:02:55.480 But before I get into it, guys, I just want to remind you,
00:02:58.560 hey, if you like the show, make sure to leave a like on the video, subscribe.
00:03:02.680 If you're not yet a subscriber, I'm trying to get to 100,000 subscribers
00:03:06.900 before mid-December or else I owe all my friends dinner.
00:03:10.900 And then, of course, leave a comment.
00:03:12.320 It really helps us on the algorithm.
00:03:13.560 And I do enjoy scrolling through and seeing what you guys are talking about
00:03:17.240 and responding to some people.
00:03:18.780 Although you guys have smashed it in the last two videos.
00:03:21.820 And I believe both videos have more than 1,300 comments.
00:03:25.680 So don't be shocked on those ones if I don't get back to you on something.
00:03:29.100 But I do attempt to get back to a variety of people.
00:03:32.340 But here was the original announcement by Tim Houston,
00:03:36.280 which again, by the way, another piece of silver lining here.
00:03:38.520 Tim Houston wants to replace Pierre Polyev as the federal conservative leader.
00:03:44.100 And this, what I will call a scandal,
00:03:47.580 has basically destroyed Tim Houston's chances of being elected anywhere
00:03:51.980 outside of his own province.
00:03:53.780 Maybe it's also going to kill a lot of his support in that province.
00:03:57.380 I know it was a New Brunswick-based party,
00:04:00.420 but there needs to be way more People's Alliance parties in the Maritimes
00:04:04.500 in order to hold these fake conservatives like Tim Houston accountable.
00:04:07.940 He's the one conservative premier.
00:04:10.620 But if you had a conservative premier in Newfoundland right now,
00:04:13.820 you'd probably have the same result.
00:04:15.200 I believe if Blaine Higgs was still the New Brunswick premier,
00:04:18.380 he wouldn't do this nonsense.
00:04:19.940 But we get these soft, like, red Tory conservatives out in the East
00:04:26.340 who don't do anything conservative.
00:04:28.140 This is why I support the new blue party in Ontario.
00:04:31.140 Doug Ford is a lot like Tim Houston.
00:04:33.480 He just takes on soft stances, doesn't cut anything,
00:04:37.160 just takes a liberal budget and tries to manage it a little bit better.
00:04:40.240 And he reacts to everything the liberals want him to react to.
00:04:44.020 Liberal media says that, you know,
00:04:46.060 that climate change is causing forest fires
00:04:49.040 and that we can have people out in the woods.
00:04:50.940 He will keep you locked down.
00:04:53.100 But here is the original announcement by Tim Houston.
00:04:55.540 Effective 4 p.m. today, we're telling Nova Scotians,
00:05:00.360 stay out of the woods.
00:05:01.560 We are restricting travel and activities that really aren't necessary
00:05:05.860 for most of us.
00:05:09.340 Hiking, camping, fishing, and the use of vehicles in the woods are not permitted.
00:05:13.320 Fishing, you can't go fish.
00:05:16.600 You know, that activity that causes forest fires all the time,
00:05:20.740 people with boats in the middle of the water cause forest fires.
00:05:23.900 Nine out of ten forest fires are caused by guys trying to catch a trout.
00:05:27.840 Trail systems through woods are off limits.
00:05:31.600 Camping is allowed, but only in official campgrounds.
00:05:34.320 Campgrounds, the fine for violating any of these bans is the same as the fine
00:05:41.120 for the ban on burning, $25,000.
00:05:45.600 Why, sorry, but if you're so dang concerned about fires,
00:05:50.840 why are you letting people camp in official campgrounds
00:05:53.120 where they presumably may have to start a fire in order to, you know,
00:05:56.540 make some hot dogs or whatever?
00:05:57.800 Like, you can't fish, you can't hike, you can't do anything in the woods.
00:06:01.960 And again, the Nova Scotia, like, emergency measures are so bad,
00:06:07.880 you can't even hike if you own the land yourself.
00:06:11.940 And I like this because I think it is needed for at least one person to do this
00:06:16.000 to set a precedent.
00:06:17.340 But there is this man, Jeff Everly, who I believe is also a former PPC candidate.
00:06:23.660 He went out into the woods specifically to get fined in order to challenge the law.
00:06:28.460 I remember him saying it ahead of time, and then he cut a video.
00:06:31.960 Where he walked into the woods basically to point out that he was there
00:06:35.100 and then got the government to send him a ticket.
00:06:38.840 And it was like $28,000 as here.
00:06:41.580 Jeff Everly says,
00:06:42.620 And he is commenting on the CBC News headline,
00:07:12.620 that says in Saskatchewan,
00:07:14.340 Saskatchewan volunteer firefighter who set 30 fires in a month sentenced for arson.
00:07:19.260 And he actually didn't.
00:07:20.680 If tyrant Timmy Houston really cared about preventing wildfires,
00:07:25.200 he would prosecute left-wing climate zealots,
00:07:27.640 eco-terrorists, to the full extent of the law,
00:07:30.180 and leave the rest of us alone.
00:07:31.820 And while that is not the cause of most fires,
00:07:35.340 I get where he's coming from.
00:07:36.360 You actually do get nutcase climate zealots who think,
00:07:40.060 people don't take climate change seriously enough,
00:07:42.820 I'm going to start a fire.
00:07:44.040 Then they're really going to take it seriously,
00:07:45.540 because they'll know climate change did this,
00:07:47.660 and not me literally setting the fire myself.
00:07:51.200 But now let's move on to another premier.
00:07:53.820 We can skip over the woman who's the current premier of New Brunswick,
00:07:57.780 because she is so boring, I don't want to watch it.
00:08:00.260 But here is, not Fleury, the former Newfoundland prime minister,
00:08:06.400 but here is the new guy, I forget the name of,
00:08:09.100 announcing his own bans.
00:08:10.900 Remember, all of these bans were kicked off by a conservative,
00:08:14.960 a supposed conservative, Tim Houston.
00:08:17.800 It was actually the liberals in New Brunswick and Newfoundland following his lead.
00:08:22.160 So as we said, we have taken decisive action to help address the situation.
00:08:27.020 Yesterday, we announced we would increase fines for violating the forest fire regulations.
00:08:31.720 And as I said today, we'll share the details.
00:08:34.360 So effective today, new fines will range from $50,000 to $150,000.
00:08:40.920 For a first offense, when a ticket is issued, fines will increase from $75 to $50,000.
00:08:47.240 And imprisonment in default of payment will increase from three days to up to six months.
00:08:53.440 For a subsequent offense, fines will increase from $150 to $75,000.
00:08:59.720 Imprisonment for not paying will increase from six days to up to six months.
00:09:04.640 Where there's a summons issued, a first offense, fines will increase from $500 to $50,000 to $100,000 range.
00:09:13.020 So you get the point here.
00:09:15.160 It's going to be three minutes of him talking about all the things the government will do to you
00:09:18.680 if you don't follow their current emergency measures in which they are targeting all of the wrong people.
00:09:25.920 Again, the main people actually the government should be targeting is itself.
00:09:30.120 It should be targeting people in its own forestry ministry and other areas of government
00:09:35.800 where they should be doing proper forest management but have not been.
00:09:39.340 This is why you end up getting massive wildfires out in places like California
00:09:44.240 but you don't get the same ones in places like Texas.
00:09:47.460 There's a reason why wildfires are pretty much always bad in parts of Alberta
00:09:52.620 that are supposed to be managed by the federal government
00:09:55.580 because they don't manage them.
00:09:57.720 And we even saw letters in the government, memos in the government to this effect
00:10:02.500 where then, like, you know, Environment and Climate Change Minister Stephen Gilbeau
00:10:08.000 was literally musing about just completely ending the forest management system
00:10:12.320 and just letting it go.
00:10:14.200 And then that was then followed by the wildfires around Jasper
00:10:18.400 that ended up burning the entire town down pretty much.
00:10:21.180 I believe that was Jasper and it didn't quite get to BAMP.
00:10:24.060 But it was nuts that we had a fire like that right after a guy was like,
00:10:28.500 well, why do we even have forest management?
00:10:30.360 And we weren't even doing it right.
00:10:32.440 But the same people, Stephen Gilbeau included, have the audacity to then say,
00:10:37.780 well, that's climate change for you.
00:10:39.620 Is it or are you guys not doing proper forest management
00:10:43.220 and then using the consequences of your own actions
00:10:47.320 to then blame the people and try and fine and lock them up
00:10:51.500 or doing basic activities that have nothing to do with forest fires?
00:10:56.160 Anyways.
00:10:57.020 By the way, arsonists do not follow the law.
00:10:59.260 I'm not sure why taking hikers off the trail
00:11:01.760 is going to prevent somebody who wants to do harm
00:11:04.420 from showing up and lighting a fire.
00:11:06.400 Again, having people in the woods would actually help prevent some stuff like this.
00:11:10.860 But that is just kind of the character of Canada at this point.
00:11:14.560 Don't actually do the government's job,
00:11:16.520 spend too much money still not doing the job on other nonsense,
00:11:19.740 and then attack the people for wanting to live their lives normally
00:11:23.500 because I guess they are responsible for the consequences of the government's inaction.
00:11:29.060 But that should be it for me today, guys.
00:11:31.460 Again, make sure to like the video, subscribe to the channel,
00:11:34.040 leave a comment, do all that fantastic stuff for me,
00:11:36.540 and I will see you guys next time.
