Summary

Mark Carney has taken a break from the campaign trail for the third time in less than a week and a half. What could be so important that he needs to take such a break? And why is he taking it?

Transcript

00:00:00.240 If you guys weren't keeping track, we are only a little bit more than halfway through this Canadian federal election campaign.
00:00:07.580 The shortest possible campaign period, mind you, because Carney and the Liberals know they can't stand up to scrutiny for very long.
00:00:14.400 And already, Mark Carney, our technical Prime Minister, has taken three breaks from the campaign trail.
00:00:21.840 In about 17 days, he has required three breaks.
00:00:26.200 That is absolutely pathetic.
00:00:28.100 His team pretends that he has important prime ministerial business to attend to back in Ottawa.
00:00:33.800 But unless we're defining important prime ministerial business as him going back to his office and lying in the dark in the fetal position, then no.
00:00:43.000 He's got nothing important to do back in Ottawa.
00:00:45.560 He's even told U.S. President Donald Trump he's not going to talk to him about trade until after the federal election period.
00:00:52.700 So, if that wasn't important enough to take a break from the campaign for, what is he taking a break for?
00:00:59.620 And the answer is, he sucks at campaigning and he needs a little mini resets.
00:01:04.380 The media is on his side.
00:01:05.940 But the thing is, Mark Carney lies so much and so obviously that he keeps generating mini scandals that he just didn't need to.
00:01:15.760 There are a lot of things he's done wrong and a lot of bad optics that are out there for him already about him associating with CCP front groups and his dealings with Brookfield Asset Management.
00:01:26.020 But if he just told the truth about it, none of this stuff would be nearly as big of a deal.
00:01:31.560 So today I want to go through some of the things that have caused him to yet again take another break from the campaign trail just four days after his last break.
00:01:41.400 But before I get into it, guys, I just want to remind you, if you've liked my federal election coverage, make sure to like this video, subscribe to the channel if you're not yet a subscriber.
00:01:51.260 I am trying to get to 100,000 subscribers by mid-December of this year, as well as think about leaving a comment.
00:01:58.520 I always like to see what people think about the topic of the day, and it has the side benefit of really helping the videos on the algorithm.
00:02:05.760 But now let's get into it.
00:02:07.420 Let's start off with the first news item today that was not very good for Mark Carney.
00:02:13.160 We see here, Brookfield used Cayman Islands to register third fund managed by Carney.
00:02:19.260 Use of tax havens, legal, widespread among investment firms, but opens liberal leader to political attacks.
00:02:26.520 I don't think anyone thought it was illegal for him to do this, but it's obviously deeply hypocritical.
00:02:31.860 Even the CBC frames this as like, oh my goodness, he could get attacked for something he did, as if it's like something happening to him and not something he's caused through his own behavior.
00:02:42.520 The Conservatives were not arbitrarily attacking him when he moved Brookfield Asset Management's headquarters from Toronto to New York City after Donald Trump was elected.
00:02:52.520 They did that because it's just so obviously hypocritical of Carney to be attacking Trump as a terrible man and especially bad for the economy.
00:03:01.540 But right after Trump was elected and Carney already knew he was probably going to try and run to be prime minister, he was all aboard to move to the U.S. because frankly they have better domestic economic policies and Mark Carney wanted to be involved with that rather than the economy he had been the economic advisor of for five years.
00:03:20.780 And let's be clear, Justin Trudeau is not qualified to lick stamps at a post office.
00:03:27.440 Mark Carney, when he was giving him advice as the campaign advisor, or sorry not the campaign advisor, the economic advisor, was probably basically getting to do whatever he wanted.
00:03:37.000 Because not a chance was Justin Trudeau going to say, that's a good suggestion, Mark, but I have my own unique idea over here.
00:03:44.320 However, Trudeau didn't have any ideas, and Freeland has made it very clear that she wasn't allowed to do anything that Justin Trudeau didn't tell her to do, which means that she wasn't doing anything that Mark Carney did not suggest.
00:03:55.680 So, yeah, this is a really bad story because he already has two tax havens for Brookfield Asset Management in Bermuda, and now he has another one in the Cayman Islands.
00:04:05.480 At the same time, literally the same day that he was attacking Pierre Polyev for potentially thinking about, hypothetically, reducing corporate taxes, which I think is actually a very good policy.
00:04:18.200 But he was attacking him for wanting to reduce taxes for companies, as well as maybe people in upper income brackets, at the same time that Carney would actually be the biggest tax cheat in the country by his own definition.
00:04:31.480 He is trying to move heaven and earth to make sure that his company doesn't pay taxes in Canada, and yet he is very, very perturbed at businesses potentially getting to pay a little bit less taxes while they are operating within Canada.
00:04:46.120 Make it make sense. Very bad luck. The Carney campaign had basically nothing to say about this.
00:04:52.360 Now, let's jump over to something else.
00:04:54.300 Again, because the man has had a long history of just opening his mouth and saying the most radical things in front of groups of people who think he's an intellectual powerhouse, there is so much live ammunition you can use against him, where on the campaign trail he's talking about supporting Canadian energy, but then someone can pull up a clip like this that's only from a few years ago, where he's stumping absolutely against it.
00:05:17.020 We can't shrink ourselves to sustainability. We need to invest and grow. And the core of that investment, and Jason knows this well, is a complete overhaul of our energy system.
00:05:28.700 If more people knew this, I don't think nearly as many people would be considering voting liberal right now.
00:05:35.620 He is literally a more left-wing version of Justin Trudeau.
00:05:40.140 He quotes Karl Marx in the last chapter of his book called Values, talking about the labor theory of value, which Mark Carney thinks is an interesting theory,
00:05:49.720 despite the fact that it has been a very long-time debunked economic myth that somehow the more effort you put into making a product means that it should be valued more,
00:06:00.940 which is ridiculous because if you find a diamond with no effort, that is still more valuable than somebody who took 10 hours making a bunch of mud pies.
00:06:09.280 Anyways, let's now move on to the next one.
00:06:12.820 This one was especially bad.
00:06:14.920 So Mark Carney claimed today, when the Globe and Mail ran a story about the fact that he had basically had engagements with a bunch of CCP front groups in Canada,
00:06:27.000 that he said that he didn't even know these organizations and he can't trust everything printed in the Globe and Mail,
00:06:33.200 when the organization in question, the JCCC, which stands for something that I don't need to break down,
00:06:40.500 they literally were posting photos of them with Mark Carney at an event.
00:06:44.920 This was their event that he attended, and there is everyone from the board with Mark Carney,
00:06:51.120 and yet he had said that he had never met them before, even though this isn't even the only photo.
00:06:55.920 The man has taken more photos with the JCCC than I have photos of myself.
00:07:02.660 And yet he thought that he was just going to get away with saying,
00:07:06.140 nuh-uh, no, I never saw any of those people.
00:07:08.900 I don't even know them.
00:07:10.880 You do if you just said you did, and I don't really, you know, I talked to them, I was nice to them,
00:07:16.440 but I don't have any serious dealings with them.
00:07:18.340 You could have just gotten through it.
00:07:19.680 But he had to lie, which demonstrates the relationship is probably more nefarious than he would ever want people to know,
00:07:26.300 because all these groups are obviously very pro-Beijing.
00:07:29.020 He has a $1 billion loan that Brookfield Asset Management got shortly after he became Trudeau's economic advisor,
00:07:36.320 and I don't doubt that all this stuff is not slightly connected at the very least,
00:07:40.600 that he's very warm to these pro-CCP groups, he's warm to his pro-CCP candidates,
00:07:45.660 and even refuses to get rid of them until the very last second when he absolutely has to,
00:07:49.920 before replacing them with another pro-CCP candidate.
00:07:53.080 It is wild just how many openings there are to criticize Carney when it comes to China.
00:08:00.400 I thought Justin Trudeau was a China shill, but in fact, Mark Carney puts the man to shame.
00:08:06.520 Here's another clip, another clip that surfaced today because all the stuff was out there for years,
00:08:11.080 and people have no doubt clipped every single bit of it and are just pouring it out onto the internet as the campaign drags on.
00:08:17.420 And China has shown incredible leadership with President Xi's historic commitments to peak emissions by 2030
00:08:26.340 and to decarbonizing the Chinese economy by 2060 at the latest.
00:08:32.300 At the latest.
00:08:33.520 And they get to keep peaking their emissions up until 2030.
00:08:38.560 At the same time, he wanted Canada to be net zero by 2030 or 2035 or whatever.
00:08:44.840 Absolutely ridiculous.
00:08:45.940 And again, let's just move on to what they thought was a good, was a good bit.
00:08:52.380 This is what they thought was a really good moment for Carney today.
00:08:56.080 This is incoherent.
00:08:58.280 Well, criminals are trying to illegally import guns to Canada.
00:09:03.340 Pierre Paulyevre is trying to import irresponsible American-style gun laws into our country.
00:09:09.940 You can't be serious about being tough on crime if you're not willing to be tough on guns.
00:09:17.320 This man is the one who is belittling Trump for saying that we need to crack down on the border and all of the illegal drugs that are going over the border.
00:09:28.840 Canadians should have actually been jumping at the opportunity to secure the border because we should have been doing it for years because of all the illegal guns coming over the border.
00:09:35.100 But he belittled the issue.
00:09:36.660 And now he's saying that, well, Paulyev needs to stop being so pro-American with his stance on guns or else you can't combat crime.
00:09:46.440 He literally criticized Paulyev's position today, saying that we need a three-strike rule for repeat offenders.
00:09:52.600 He thought that was a bad policy.
00:09:55.140 But confiscating law-abiding gun owners' weapons is somehow going to stop gangs in downtown Toronto from shooting each other with illegally smuggled-in guns from the United States.
00:10:06.060 Make it make sense.
00:10:07.760 You can't be serious about stopping intimate partner violence without being serious about gun control.
00:10:14.500 When we know.
00:10:16.140 When we know.
00:10:17.620 I'm sorry, but domestic violence is not mostly done with guns, by the way.
00:10:22.600 And it especially isn't being done with legal guns.
00:10:25.600 It's illegal guns, and it's mostly not guns at all.
00:10:29.060 But this guy doesn't, again, he's just a repeat of Justin Trudeau.
00:10:32.300 It's actually nuts how much he's devolving into Trudeau with worse hair.
00:10:36.200 From our own tragic history, how often guns are involved?
00:10:42.180 Illegal guns.
00:10:45.020 Illegal guns are the problem.
00:10:47.720 I just want to bring up this other post that someone made today.
00:10:49.820 This is, like, what your brain looks like on liberalism.
00:10:54.040 So there's this guy right here.
00:10:56.120 Ben Perrin.
00:10:58.240 Who says,
00:10:58.860 Today, Mark Carney announced some specific concrete measures to enhance public safety.
00:11:04.280 Research consistently shows harsher penalties don't deter.
00:11:07.760 What does deter is increasing the probability of apprehension.
00:11:11.220 This makes Carney's plans superior to Pollyov.
00:11:14.420 What does he say?
00:11:14.940 Carney plans focuses on particular steps to address gun crime, in particular child exploitation, securing the border target, that increases to RCMP and CBSA in priority areas, among other things.
00:11:25.880 That means literally nothing.
00:11:27.780 This is a sentence that is devoid of meaning.
00:11:31.100 If, if, I don't even know what this is supposed to mean.
00:11:35.640 But anyways.
00:11:37.300 What?
00:11:37.860 So this person starts off saying, you know, locking up criminals doesn't actually deter crime.
00:11:45.240 Yeah.
00:11:46.040 The whole point of locking up criminals is to incapacitate criminals so they cannot keep committing crimes.
00:11:52.280 Nobody's locking up criminals because they don't want that guy over there to stop committing crimes.
00:11:56.920 They want to lock up this guy because this guy is committing crime.
00:12:02.660 If that guy's committing crime, too, let's lock him up, too.
00:12:06.040 I know I sound like a barbarian here, thinking that maybe if you commit a crime, you should do the time.
00:12:12.240 But, you know, that's usually what has caused low crime rates to occur.
00:12:16.160 But this man is praising Carney because instead of locking up criminals, he is going to kind of secure the border, although he's, like, belittling Trump on that issue, so I don't trust him.
00:12:28.840 He's going to do something on guns, take away old Farmer John's shotgun, and that's going to prevent Somali gangs in Toronto from shooting people.
00:12:39.460 Make it make sense.
00:12:40.980 It just doesn't.
00:12:41.960 It doesn't.
00:12:42.560 And again, this is why the man is taking another break off the campaign trail.
00:12:47.580 All of his campaign promises that he's announced have flopped.
00:12:50.780 They've just been exposed to something that Justin Trudeau wanted to do as well and never did, even when Carney was around as the economic advisor.
00:12:58.200 Or he's just been caught in the dumbest possible lies or with a bunch of CCP connections or with tax havens and all his other crazy anti-oil and gas rhetoric.
00:13:10.280 He's just a terrible candidate.
00:13:11.780 And luckily, again, the tariff issue is going away, so I actually believe in the next week or so we are going to start seeing big polling shifts.
00:13:20.020 In fact, yesterday, Main Street's numbers were, like, a 7.8% lead for the Liberals, and that made sense because that poll was conducted before the tariffs had gone off between America and the world.
00:13:32.340 And so, obviously, that was going to be the high watermark where there was the big rally around the flag moment for the government because people sometimes don't see the difference between the Canadian government and, like, the Liberal Party.
00:13:45.740 So when there's trade tensions with the U.S., people are artificially in favor of whoever is currently in government in Canada.
00:13:52.340 And already over the past day, that 7.8% lead, I believe, has fallen to 5.
00:13:57.640 So it's already gone down by 2.8% in a single day because tariffs and trade is just not going to be an issue for the rest of the election.
00:14:05.780 And I think the Conservatives really need to drill in on that.
00:14:09.160 The U.S. will still be an issue, but I think the Conservatives can now control the narrative that the only reason that all happened and that we were vulnerable is because the Liberals have done such a bad job managing this country.
00:14:20.500 They gave the excuse of the border and fentanyl to the U.S. to impose tariffs on us, and our economy is so weak, the tariff threat is actually crippling to Canada because we have no savings, our credit rating sucks, our taxes are too high, our regulations are too high, and Carney over here doesn't want to deal with any of that.
00:14:37.840 In fact, I'm a bad person, apparently, for wanting to do it.
00:14:40.420 At the same time, he has a tax haven.
00:14:43.300 He had three tax havens for Brookfield Asset Management and even moved the headquarters to New York City.
00:14:48.180 So yeah, that's it for this video, guys.
00:14:51.840 Thanks for watching the channel.
00:14:53.300 Make sure to like this video, subscribe to the channel, leave a comment, do all that great stuff.
00:14:58.140 I feel like we're actually going to be able to hit 100,000 by the end of this year, so I thank all of you for encouraging me in the comments, mentioning it to your friends that they should check out the channel and subscribe.
00:15:07.360 I've gotten a lot of people mentioning that they started watching because a friend had mentioned it to them, and maybe a friend had mentioned it to their friend.
00:15:14.400 And maybe this entire channel has just been a bunch of friends recommending the channel to other friends and going down in like a constant spiral.
00:15:22.440 That's just me being silly at the end of this video.
00:15:24.640 Anyways, so that's it for here.
00:15:26.500 I'm going to obviously have more news coming.
00:15:28.380 Hopefully, we'll get some good polling news I can talk about in the next couple of days.
00:15:32.420 But until then, see you next time.
00:15:34.000 We'll be right back.
