00:00:00.000 So you know how Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberals are doing this really hardcore anti-American, anti-Trump thing right now in order to try and win votes if a snap election occurs in 2026?
00:00:13.380 Well, at the same time that Mark Carney is delivering all these speeches, implying that Canada is going to chart a path away from the United States and that we're not going to take their side in the great power rivalry that's going on.
00:00:27.180 At the same time, we were caving to America and Donald Trump. 0.89
00:00:33.400 Now, Trump is right in this case that we were doing something really, really dumb, but it does make us look pathetic that we keep saying one thing and then doing the other thing while the public isn't watching.
00:00:46.980 Now, I didn't even notice that this was published yesterday since there was so much propaganda being released online at the same time.
00:00:55.740 But our trade minister to the United States, Dominic LeBlanc, released this statement yesterday at around 1030 in the morning, at least mountain time.
00:01:06.840 It says here,
00:01:08.840 As the Prime Minister said this week, Canada and the United States have built a remarkable partnership in our economy and security and will remain focused on ensuring the future of that relationship will benefit workers and businesses on both sides of our border.
00:01:23.840 Now, I don't believe him, but it doesn't really matter if I believe him or not that they weren't trying to actually have a free trade deal with China.
00:01:50.180 The point is that they're obviously trying to satisfy Trump and the Americans at the same time that Carney is going out there and delivering speeches at the WEF, thumbing his nose at them in order to try and win the anti-American vote in Canada.
00:02:05.900 This is more cynical than I originally thought, because while, again, Carney goes out there and is attacking America, never by name, but always through very obvious implication,
00:02:19.280 his own ministers are having to scramble around in the background, putting out statements assuring that everything Carney is doing is just a joke, man.
00:02:28.740 Don't worry. Don't don't put terror of us 100 percent.
00:02:31.500 We're just joking about taking communist China's side in the great power rivalry, because while Carney said we don't need to take sides in this great power rivalry, we'll chart a third course.
00:02:43.620 It's like, well, you literally took a side because you are trying to integrate not only more on trade, but on security and culture with the CCP.
00:02:53.340 That is not how the U.S. negotiates with China. That's not how any other country is really negotiating with China outside of Chinese satellite states in Asia and Africa.
00:03:03.340 We're the only ones who are stupid enough to actually do that. 0.97
00:03:07.100 Like, I need to show you guys what the media coverage is of this, because I'm slightly embarrassed. 0.98
00:03:12.360 I didn't even notice this yesterday. Like, shout out to Mark Nixon, because he was one of the few people who posted about it.
00:03:18.380 But I'll just get to his thing first. Mark Nixon screenshotted the statement yesterday.
00:03:23.640 So, you know, it's like 21 hours ago is how flat footed I was.
00:03:27.100 And he said, Dominic LeBlanc says Canada didn't enter any free trade agreement with China.
00:03:33.320 It was all fake. The new world order was also performative.
00:03:37.700 Yeah, like kind of. Now, it wasn't really performative.
00:03:42.420 I think that they wanted to integrate with China as much as possible.
00:03:46.520 That was pretty much what the deal was looking like we were moving towards.
00:03:50.980 And but now it's suddenly like, no, no, no, no. Don't worry. We weren't doing that.
00:03:54.020 Now, the deal we have with them is already stupid. 0.97
00:03:57.080 We're going to let them dump EVs to reduce the canola tariff. 0.98
00:04:01.120 Now, I want Saskatchewan canola farmers supported.
00:04:04.860 But we didn't have to let the Chinese government integrate into our national security apparatus in order to do that.
00:04:11.940 But this is where it's like a giant Pyrrhic victory for Mark Carney.
00:04:16.740 Is it a win in terms of the media headlines?
00:04:19.940 Sure. Also, it's going to have bad knock on effects for him politically in not that long.
00:04:25.320 We already have Doug Ford now at Mark Carney's throat, because while they used to be political allies,
00:04:32.360 he is going to potentially in order to win a few votes in Saskatchewan with the canola farmers,
00:04:37.900 who are still probably going to vote conservative anyways,
00:04:40.660 he is going to undermine the already very weak Canadian auto sector, mostly based in Ontario.
00:04:47.180 Good job, Mark.
00:04:49.060 Obviously, this is going to work out for you.
00:04:51.200 You know, everyone's going to elbows up at the end of the day.
00:04:53.580 You can just ignore all normal political, like, instincts.
00:04:58.940 You can do whatever you want, and it'll work out for you.
00:05:01.640 At least I want Mark Carney to think that that's how this is going to work.
00:05:05.580 But let's, I just want to show you guys the headlines.
00:05:08.840 If you look up Carney and Trump.
00:05:11.540 So I just Googled Carney and Trump here.
00:05:14.200 And you'll notice, like, CBC, three hours ago,
00:05:17.400 Trump threatens 100% tariffs on Canadian goods as Carney carries on with trade strategy.
00:05:21.740 He carries on with it, does he?
00:05:24.620 They published that three hours ago, even though maybe they mention it.
00:05:29.460 But that's not, most people consume media through the headlines.
00:05:33.280 And the headline should be that Carney says one thing while his U.S. trade minister says the other.
00:05:39.040 That they have already spiritually caved on this thing.
00:05:42.440 We have opinion from the New York Times.
00:05:45.720 Opinion.
00:05:46.120 Trump just proved Mark Carney's point.
00:05:49.160 CTV News.
00:05:50.040 Carney, Trump, Greenland on a wild week in geopolitics.
00:05:54.180 Toronto Star.
00:05:54.980 Mark Carney responds with restraint to Donald Trump's goading,
00:05:58.120 quietly ending a week of foreign policy tension.
00:06:01.060 Now, that might have been published before this statement came out.
00:06:04.380 But there are many more articles that came out that didn't mention this at all that were published within the last day.
00:06:12.460 Like, after the Dominic LeBlanc statement came out,
00:06:15.300 multiple, dozens of articles from Canadian media have come out about the issue.
00:06:20.440 And the only news publication who covered the angle that Canada is caving was, you know,
00:06:27.320 unsurprisingly, the slightly more conservative National Post.
00:06:30.880 But even then, they only published that article, like, late yesterday.
00:06:35.080 So it didn't even come up on their radar as something to cover until then.
00:06:39.440 Like, here's another thing that needs to be mentioned.
00:06:41.500 Because even Carney himself, it's not just he's sending out his trade minister to say one thing while he does another.
00:06:46.720 He himself is basically, through his actions, indicating that, yeah, he is going to have to back this down at some point.
00:06:56.140 Here's another headline from the National Post.
00:06:58.600 And it says, Carney ends cabinet meeting without answering questions about Trump.
00:07:03.420 So originally, when he had that cabinet retreat where he went out and he did his anti-American routine again,
00:07:10.300 he was supposed to be answering questions.
00:07:12.900 But that morning, they probably knew they were going to be caving.
00:07:16.720 And so he doesn't actually want to answer any direct questions about the situation with Donald Trump,
00:07:23.500 because he doesn't want to contradict a move that he's going to make.
00:07:27.200 Instead, yesterday, and remember, this is that statement from Dominic LeBlanc came out around 21, 20 hours ago,
00:07:36.160 or 22, 23 hours ago, or something like that.
00:07:39.040 Now, rather tellingly, yesterday, and we covered this video, maybe we'll watch it again just quickly here.
00:07:46.360 But tellingly, right after Dominic LeBlanc issued that statement about Canada, U.S. trade, you know,
00:07:54.760 don't worry, we're not pursuing a free trade agreement with the Chinese,
00:07:58.320 and we want to help grow the economy on both sides of the border.
00:08:01.660 A little bit after that, Mark Carney posted this kind of propaganda video talking about how Canada needs to be,
00:08:09.240 you know, like, it's just more rah-rah-rah-ing about how Canada needs to, you know,
00:08:13.340 rely on itself for resources and, you know, pursue, like, economic sovereignty and whatnot.
00:08:18.440 With our economy under threat from abroad, Canadians have made a choice to focus on what we can control.
00:08:27.440 So, we don't need to watch the full video there.
00:08:30.840 I'm lying to you.
00:08:32.300 I'm not going to watch the full video.
00:08:33.780 But he's saying, oh, we're getting threats from abroad,
00:08:36.000 and that's why we need to rely more on our, you know,
00:08:39.380 we need to rely more on our own domestic supply of resources to build projects.
00:08:44.480 And it's basically government-only using made-in-canned stuff or whatever,
00:08:48.460 which is going to skyrocket the price of a lot of contracts from the government.
00:08:52.840 Like, I'm fine with buying Canadian,
00:08:54.400 but we should also lower taxes and regulations in order to make that more realistic.
00:08:58.340 But he posted that video at the same time he knew, like, an hour and a half ago,
00:09:02.680 his own U.S. trade minister, just, you know, the whatever,
00:09:06.820 the something King's Privy Council guy.
00:09:09.040 He's, like, Dominic LeBlanc's kind of like our Marco Rubio.
00:09:11.660 He has, like, 17 different portfolios that he covers.
00:09:15.300 But that guy just caved, just reassured the Americans,
00:09:19.060 don't worry, we're just doing some propaganda for our own people.
00:09:22.580 Just ignore what we're doing, and we will eventually get over it.
00:09:27.000 Although I don't really think the Americans should get over it
00:09:29.500 until they get Mark Carney to specifically say that publicly on camera,
00:09:34.220 I am not pursuing a free trade deal with China,
00:09:37.200 and our most important trade partnership is still the Americans,
00:09:40.900 and we should strengthen it.
00:09:42.340 Because it's what he should do.
00:09:44.760 After you kick somebody this many times in public,
00:09:47.480 you should probably have to apologize,
00:09:49.460 or at least indicate, I'm just kidding, guys.
00:09:51.900 Sorry.
00:09:52.840 But anyways, that should be it for this video, guys.
00:09:55.940 I just wanted to quickly cover this little contradiction
00:09:58.360 that's been sort of quietly going on in the background.
00:10:01.960 Yeah, like, what Dominic LeBlanc was saying was public,
00:10:04.580 but it's like I fell for the propaganda a little bit.
00:10:07.800 Now, the propaganda is kind of the point,
00:10:09.900 because Mark Carney's trying to win the next election
00:10:13.180 with anti-American votes, and I covered it from that angle.
00:10:16.100 But even though what Dominic LeBlanc published was public,
00:10:19.680 not that many people even noticed, like I didn't notice,
00:10:23.500 many other people I've seen didn't really talk about
00:10:26.120 what Dominic LeBlanc said yesterday,
00:10:28.100 because the liberals didn't want you to notice it.
00:10:30.740 That was for American consumption only,
00:10:33.200 at the same time that Carney was going to be putting out videos
00:10:35.660 about how we're being attacked on trade from abroad,
00:10:38.880 which is just talking about America.
00:10:41.260 Anyways, with that all being said,
00:10:42.760 thank you guys for watching.
00:10:44.280 Like, share, subscribe, and I'll see you guys next time.
