00:00:00.000Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberal government are obviously hiding something from the Canadian people on this associate EU member story.
00:00:09.280An article came out a couple days ago from the Wall Street Journal that detailed how the Mark Carney Liberals are trying to cozy up with the European Union pursuing an associate member status.
00:00:21.020because, of course, it's terrible to join the United States and become the 51st state,
00:00:26.060but becoming the 28th EU member country, that's totally above board and doesn't undermine our sovereignty.
00:00:33.200So this Wall Street Journal article came out using a lot of anonymous sources, I will mention that,
00:00:39.120but it also gave a lot of details from those sources.
00:00:42.680And I will say that there's not really a clear reason why any of these sources would be lying.
00:00:47.860It sounded like they were actually quite positive about the prospect of Canada becoming an associate member.
00:00:53.440The EU is an economic basket case and would probably love to suck some blood out of Canada in order to better sustain itself.
00:00:59.940But then the story was denied in a story that was released by CTV News where they, quote,
00:01:06.220one anonymous source from the Liberal government basically just saying,
00:01:10.480nah, no, it's not happening. We're not pursuing EU membership.
00:01:14.340Well, that's a bit of a vague denial, because we know that Carney is not pursuing full EU membership.
00:01:20.900He wants an associate membership, which means we would actually have to pay the EU money and follow their rules and regulations, but we also wouldn't get to vote.
00:01:28.800So their lack of specificity is a little bit of an eyebrow raiser, but obviously the source inside the liberal government has a far bigger incentive to lie than for the sources that the Wall Street Journal was quoting from Europe had to lie.
00:01:44.880Again, it's so funny that Mark Carney stands up and puffs out his chest about how Canada will never be the 51st state, something that nobody is actually seriously talking about, but then secretly behind the scenes they're having discussions with EU leaders and officials to try and sneak Canada in as an associate member, which would absolutely undermine our sovereignty.
00:02:07.980You do not actually care about Canadian sovereignty if you only don't like when the Americans joke about the 51st state, because they will absolutely integrate us with China and the EU at a drop of a hat, in fact, using American jokes as an excuse to do so.
00:02:24.980But in a second here, I want to read you guys some quotes from the article, just so you understand the specificity that came out of the Wall Street Journal article.
00:02:32.280i have a post i want to share from mario zalea and then i have some polling results that give
00:02:37.780the light the idea that the liberal government was not seriously talking about this they're
00:02:42.680running away from the idea because although it technically polls okay at the moment the thing
00:02:47.320is as people would understand what the eu really is they would not want to join it but anyways
00:02:53.360before i get into it i just want to remind you guys if you like the show make sure to leave a
00:02:57.400like on the video. Subscribe if you are not yet a subscriber. We're trying to get our way to 100,000
00:03:03.020subscribers on this channel, and we are less than 4,000 new subscribers away from that goal.
00:03:08.420And of course, if you want to better support the channel, you can also hit the join button
00:03:11.680and become a monthly contributing member. It makes it more sustainable for me and allows me
00:03:16.260to be less reliant on the YouTube algorithm. But I want to get into these Wall Street Journal
00:03:21.300quotes first. I just had Grok spin up some of the quotes from it that were most significant,
00:03:26.920just to make it easy here. So here is categorizing what the pitch was. This is from the Wall Street
00:03:35.000Journal article. Quote, to European leaders, Carney has even suggested Canada taking on a new
00:03:40.500title, associate member of the European Union. The EU, not known for its flexible enforcement
00:03:45.500of membership rules, is open to the idea, officials from both sides say. Another quote,
00:03:50.880Carney has instructed his special envoy to Europe to scope out the most ambitious possibilities
00:03:55.560short of full membership in the EU or its common market, according to people familiar with the
00:04:00.060matter. Another one, now Carney was accelerating Canada's pivot to Europe, matchmaking a shotgun
00:04:08.740marriage to offset the pain of its divorce with America. In effect, a threat to make Canada the
00:04:13.94051st state is pushing America's northern neighbor so close to Europe that leaders have begun a
00:04:19.120half and just dubbed it the EU's newest member. Another one, European and Canadian officials are
00:04:25.620eyeing ways in which Canada could informally lock into Europe's $21 trillion single market
00:04:30.900in strategic supply chains such as energy, AI, and critical minerals needed for batteries or
00:04:35.760semiconductors and most urgently defense. And it goes on and on and talks about how
00:04:41.320Mark Carney or Canadian officials have been speaking with EU leaders, you know, like,
00:04:47.620you know, Emmanuel Macron or French officials or officials from the European Union itself
00:04:52.900detailing how this could work. This is obviously not just some random thoughts they had at a
00:04:59.040cocktail party. These are serious discussions that the liberals are sending out a single
00:05:03.960anonymous source to deny. I believe Mark Carney himself has denied this, but again,
00:05:09.120the way that they deny it never actually matches the full scope of the information. They always
00:05:14.560say we're not pursuing EU membership and it's like well are you pursuing associate membership or is
00:05:19.740it that you just haven't officially started the discussions yet because Carney has done this
00:05:25.060before where he uses kind of weasel words and vague language to try and deny something that
00:05:31.180everyone knows is true just go back to the Gordie Howe bridge situation where he kept playing fast
00:05:35.980and loose with the definition of net revenues and net profits and then he'll say well you know hey
00:05:41.720yeah I talked to Trump the other day but you know leaders talk to each other about all sorts of
00:05:46.360things and you know we talk about stuff like like foreign policy and and the war in Iran
00:05:52.880and then Trump just reveals yeah absolutely we talked about trade. Carney constantly kind of
00:05:58.940uses over explaining kind of explanations or vague language to hide the truth from the public
00:06:06.360But now I want to jump over to this post from Mario Zalaya, because this is another piece of evidence that the liberals are absolutely lying and willing to undermine our sovereignty to Europe in response to jokes from the Americans.
00:06:21.340And they are jokes, guys. The 51st state stuff is dumb and it's unproductive for the Americans to be engaging in.0.97
00:06:27.640At the same time, it's a joke and we should be more serious minded in how we pursue our trade strategy with America to get the best deal for Canadians.0.94
00:06:36.360but instead we keep walking away from the table we do not do negotiating hardball and now we're
00:06:41.560trying to intertwine ourselves with a corrupt trading bloc that also has crazy censorship
00:06:46.760policies and migration policies they literally find hungary for not letting migrants over their
00:06:53.080border illegal military-aged male migrants are supposed to come into your country or you get
00:06:59.640find as an EU member. But check out this post from Mario Zalaya. He's responding to this post
00:07:06.500from Roberta Metzola from the EU, and she says, a new chapter for the EU-CANDA partnership. Ahead
00:07:13.300of Mark Carney's address to the European Parliament this Thursday, I'm delighted that
00:07:17.340tonight the European Parliament's Bureau has endorsed the establishment of an EP Antenna
00:07:23.000office in Ottawa. And Mario here says, major breaking, the European Parliament has endorsed
00:07:27.980opening an office in ottawa just days before carny addressed the european parliament its mandate
00:07:32.840will extend as far as the arctic no one voted for this and by the way why is this going down at the
00:07:39.100same time the wall street journal article is coming out that the carny liberals are trying
00:07:43.800to deny means anything no no we aren't trying to become a member of the eu but we are doing
00:07:49.660an incredible amount of things with the eu that would precipitate joining but now i need to show
00:07:55.660you guys a piece of information that I came across yesterday that obviously proves there
00:08:01.680was more to this than the liberals are trying to let on. Check this out. This was a polling result
00:08:08.520from abacus data. I really like abacus data. Their more recent polls actually put the liberals like
00:08:13.92013, 14 points ahead of the conservatives. Probably a little bit aggressive, probably due to a response
00:08:20.160bias. Every time there's a trade war threat, their numbers bump up for the liberals in the
00:08:25.100short period like abacus back in february when things were heating up again they actually showed
00:08:29.580like plus 17 leads for the liberals at one point and then they usually swing down in the month or
00:08:35.120two and i every time that carney gets into another dust up with trump they spike but the spike is not
00:08:40.360high as high as it used to be and then it comes down usually faster i just want to mention that
00:08:45.080as well but i trust abacus data but why in their september 4th to 9th survey where they asked
00:08:54.1001,479 adults. This question, why are they asking about full EU membership? It says full EU
00:09:01.020membership nearly half. Say yes. Asking whether they would support Canada becoming a member state
00:09:06.560of the European Union. 49 say yes, 30 say no, and 21 are unsure. 17 strongly support, 14% strongly
00:09:13.980oppose. Now, I don't actually think Canadians want to join the EU. That doesn't mean it's a scuffed
00:09:19.280poll question and abacus data is messing around. It's just that most people are answering
00:09:23.840questions about Europe in the frame of I hate Donald Trump. So naturally, a lot more people
00:09:29.380than normally would would say, yeah, maybe let's join the EU, because they think about it as a
00:09:34.300binary decision between America 51st and European 28, when in fact, the real answer to all this is
00:09:42.840none. Let's stick with the 13 provinces and territories in Canada and not mess around with
00:09:48.520any other direct alliances where we entangle ourselves with another country. But as I said
00:09:55.160here, why would Advocates Data ask about full EU membership if someone didn't want public opinion
00:10:02.420surveyed on it? Making the CTV news story saying a source in the liberal government said Carney
00:10:07.620isn't trying to move Canada into the EU seem like complete crap. And then I moved on to say0.96
00:10:12.120the Wall Street Journal story was clearly onto something since they had a lot of sources that
00:10:18.080had no incentive to lie about what the Canadian government was doing. But the source, CTV News
00:10:23.160said from the Liberal government, obviously had an incentive to lie. And the fact that a survey
00:10:27.680company was asking people about this very thing in their September, I got the numbers wrong,
00:10:33.380but it was fourth to ninth survey, is quite the remarkable coincidence, if it is a coincidence.
00:10:38.540Obviously, somebody knew ahead of time, and it may not be from the Liberal government that asked
00:10:42.740abacus data to do this i actually assume not but somebody knew what the liberals were doing
00:10:48.360well before this wall street journal story was out there and they had abacus data staple on a
00:10:54.600question wondering eu membership do we want to join the eu the toronto star is the main paper
00:11:01.800that ends up hiring abacus data and that is a very liberal leaning paper so obviously those people
00:11:08.440would have a connection to what the Liberal Party is doing. They probably know people in the foreign
00:11:13.360press who are familiar with the conversations that Carney and the Liberals are having with
00:11:17.240EU officials, and they thought it was interesting enough and serious enough that they decided to
00:11:22.440ask Canadians, do you want to join the EU? That's a very oddly specific question that I've not seen
00:11:29.000any other pollster do, at least recently. Maybe there's been some, but Abacus Data doesn't usually
00:11:35.440ask questions like this. They usually just do national polls, leader approval ratings,
00:11:40.880what issues matter to people, and sometimes they ask trust questions. Which party or leader do you
00:11:45.500trust more on any given issue? So the EU slipping in there means that there is something serious
00:11:51.040about that agenda when it comes to the liberal government, or it would be a completely worthless
00:11:56.040thing to ask. Mark Carney isn't even meeting with our own parliament before he goes to the
00:12:01.140European Union. He is literally sidestepping, reopening our own parliament to go speak with
00:12:05.600the EU parliament. He very clearly has a deep love and ideological connection to the European Union.
00:12:13.520He was the head of the Bank of England. His wife is from the UK, and that doesn't mean anything
00:12:17.720like, oh my goodness, now he's an agent of the UK. Obviously, the UK left the European Union.
00:12:23.920But my point is that he lives a very European life. He has an Irish passport. He has an English
00:12:30.240passport. He seems to think that Canada has a land border with the EU. He has this delusional
00:12:37.500fantasy that the entire middle powers of the middle powers of the world are all going to
00:12:42.260align together. Remember that other story that came out from another American publication
00:12:46.940that said that Mark Carney was texting EU leaders like the Prime Minister of Spain,
00:12:54.160urging them not to make up with the Trump administration in America and to go their
00:12:59.380own way. Don't trust them. They can't be trusted. Why is he reaching out to EU leaders and telling
00:13:04.780them that? He obviously wants a world realignment against the Americans. Heck, he's willing to work
00:13:11.180with the CCP in China, despite having previously said they were our biggest national security
00:13:16.480threat. So obviously, Carney is hiding something about what he wants to do. He obviously wants
00:13:23.000Canada to move towards the EU, and now he might not do it this month because it's now too hot of
00:13:28.380an issue no matter what that survey says i think when canadians actually analyze the issue more
00:13:33.140no they don't want to get intertwined into another country or another trade compact they don't want
00:13:40.800that they don't want to become another province of china they don't want to become another state
00:13:43.980of the united states they don't want to become another just beat about european union member
00:13:50.160who ends up paying so that greece can pretend like they actually pull their own weight the eu is a
00:13:55.860basket case of bad economics, bad regulations, censorship, and awful migration policy. Although
00:14:03.820it's kind of funny that right now at this very moment, the EU, all the member states are actually
00:14:10.380moving towards the political right. So that would be kind of funny if Canada joined the EU
00:14:15.120and all the other EU countries started getting run by the AFD and Vox and the Brothers of Italy
00:14:21.320and national rally and stuff like that that would be kind of fun uh i really doubt that's
00:14:26.280going to happen though one more story i want to comment on before the end of this video and it's
00:14:30.620so out of left field for me to talk about i find it so funny that donald trump went to the republic
00:14:36.600of ireland and vocalized that he supports ireland coming together as one country the republic and
00:14:43.180northern ireland because all that has done is guaranteed that the unionist protestant parties
00:14:49.880in Northern Ireland are going to win the next election because Trump just endorsed the plan
00:15:02.080I just find that hilarious that for once Trump's comments on another country's politics are going
00:15:07.800to be benefiting the more conservative parties for once. Now, I actually don't blame Trump for
00:15:13.400the conservatives losing the 2025 federal election. Parties always have options. They
00:15:17.660always have other strategies they can deploy and I thought the federal conservatives were flat-footed
00:15:22.100in 2025 and didn't run on a bold enough platform that got attention it was too too much of what
00:15:28.460you would expect from like the party in 2021 or 2019 it wasn't that I disagree with their policies
00:15:34.120they just were not that kind of spark that audacious plan that gets people engaged but now
00:15:39.680in Northern Ireland Donald Trump is going to ensure that the DUP and traditional unionist voice
00:15:46.580are going to win their next provincial election, which is absolutely hilarious. Donald Trump's
00:15:53.760mother was Scottish, so maybe he's just acting as a Scottish UK agent trying to make sure that
00:16:00.260Northern Ireland never joins the Republic. I always find it funny that in Northern Ireland,
00:16:06.100the people who insist most vehemently that they are in fact Englishmen, they are part of the UK,
00:16:12.680They always have the most aggressive Irish accents ever, like people in Dublin and Cork and places in the Republic have very light Irish accents.
00:16:20.480And then you go to Northern Ireland and they're like, oh, the First Minister lied to the chamber here saying that they would not engage in separatist language.
00:16:29.260And now they're linking arms with separatists in Scotland and Wales trying to rip apart this union.
00:16:34.100And then you go to Dublin and they barely sound like they have an accent at all.
00:16:37.920I love it. Northern Ireland is this weird jurisdiction I love to follow the politics of.
00:16:42.680If I was a UK politician, I would be a DUP or a TUV, traditional union voice politician, because it's fun in Belfast.
