00:00:00.000 Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry to report to you today that we, in fact, live in the movie Groundhog's Day, and we are never getting out.
00:00:10.180 But federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh is no longer voting no confidence in the liberal government because, hey, he's got to prop them up at least one more time, baby, because he has to help out Mark Carney or Chrystia Freeland, whichever one it's going to be, pass a relief package because for some reason we need a trade war with the United States.
00:00:34.100 You know, we could maybe just, you know, increase border security, invest more in our military and call the bluff of the Trump administration that we've done enough to dissuade a tariff.
00:00:48.120 But no, we're not going to do any of that. We, as the smaller economy, a country the 10th of the size of the United States, with them as our primary trade partner, we are going to go for a dollar for dollar tariff response.
00:01:01.560 This is monumentally stupid. But what do you expect? I'm going to start from the top of this story. Please help me. Like the video. Subscribe to the channel.
00:01:15.920 I'm being driven clinically insane by the repetition of Canada's news cycle. This happens like every month. Jagmeet Singh, I'm not helping Justin Trudeau anymore. He's betrayed us.
00:01:25.860 Well, I need to help him to stop the conservatives. So we're voting confidence in the government. I can't stand this guy anymore. Not only is Justin Trudeau awful, but whoever replaces him is not going to be any different.
00:01:39.520 Well, we need to pass relief package. But here's the top.
00:01:43.420 So Melanie Jolie is going down to the United States, to Washington, to talk to Secretary of State Marco Rubio about how best Canada and the U.S. can avoid tariffs.
00:01:55.960 Wow, I can't believe she's such a traitor to the country. Or at least this is what I've been hearing about Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, which is asinine.
00:02:04.020 She was quarterbacking Canada's entire reputation with the United States by going down to Viral Lago and going to Trump's inauguration and not being a twit and insulting him all the time.
00:02:15.020 Do you know why Trump's been fairly rude to Canada over the past few months?
00:02:19.180 It's almost like our federal liberal government has been basically using him as a bad word against their opponents for four years now.
00:02:26.680 And now it's come to bite them in the butt. Should this be how Trump acts?
00:02:30.540 No, we don't live in a perfect world. And so I don't like whenever the liberal media and even conservatives will be like, I can't believe Trump is doing this to us.
00:02:39.260 You can't? You can't? Get out of the commentary business then.
00:02:43.980 And we can easily avoid this. We can still avoid this. The whole point is Jolie is going down to try and avoid this.
00:02:50.600 And my friend J.J. McCullough posted this today, and he is absolutely right.
00:02:56.080 And he's commenting above the CDC article that says, Singh suggests NDP could help liberals pass Trump tariff relief.
00:03:02.540 And J.J. says, well, there it is. The NDP is back to negotiating with the liberals.
00:03:07.300 And yes, this is all trying to slow walk themselves into backing another liberal, like, no confidence motion.
00:03:15.560 That they are going to support the liberals through it and defy the conservatives.
00:03:19.060 Which, honestly, this all helps the conservatives in the next federal election, because this is so sleazy.
00:03:25.900 Singh's really doing this because, one, NDP fundraising is abysmal.
00:03:31.240 Who knew socialists were bad with money? Couldn't tell me that.
00:03:36.160 And then the second thing is Singh's actually probably going to lose his re-election into whichever riding he runs in in Burnaby.
00:03:41.840 His original riding was cut in half. And now either riding he runs in, at best, he has like a 50-50 of winning.
00:03:48.800 And these days it's probably gone down from there.
00:03:51.220 But here is Singh now walking himself back, talking himself back into a liberal NDP alliance.
00:03:59.300 If Trump follows through on his plan with tariffs, would you keep the liberals in power
00:04:03.220 and allow for the passage of a work relief program before supporting a non-incompetence motion?
00:04:08.440 I'll just start off by the fact that I've spoken with a lot of workers who are deeply worried about what the Trump tariffs might mean.
00:04:17.380 They say, you know, sometimes I lay awake at night saying, if that tariff goes through, do I lose my job?
00:04:23.200 You've been steering into it. So thanks, Jagmeet. Thanks for making these workers anxious.
00:04:27.660 What's going to happen to my kids? What's going to happen to my family?
00:04:30.680 When we think about the analysis that's out there, if those Trump tariffs come in place,
00:04:34.640 there are hundreds and thousands of Canadian jobs at risk.
00:04:39.140 Think about what that means for those workers, hundreds of thousands of workers, for their families, for those communities.
00:04:45.200 This could be devastating for our country.
00:04:48.020 So we do need to have a plan in place to support those that are impacted, those businesses, those workers, most importantly.
00:04:55.140 I have not had any conversations with other opposition leaders.
00:04:58.480 I think we need to come together to have a discussion about what is the best way forward.
00:05:01.440 I've not had any discussions with the government related to this.
00:05:05.700 If there is any desire to move forward, the government should call us together, like we did during COVID, and discuss a plan that supports workers.
00:05:13.760 We, as a party of working people, a party founded by workers, want to make sure that there's a plan in place for workers.
00:05:20.200 It's why we said from the beginning, EI is clearly not up to the task.
00:05:24.580 During the pandemic, we realized EI does not cover the majority of Canadian workers.
00:05:28.620 We called for changes to that.
00:05:29.740 So where is his denial that he's not still going to vote no confidence?
00:05:33.360 At least sometime soon.
00:05:35.300 Maybe he passes the relief package, gets that through and clear.
00:05:39.000 It's implemented.
00:05:40.200 The bureaucracy can work with it, but we're still having an election.
00:05:43.160 He will not commit to a new election at all.
00:05:46.920 And again, his backup excuse is, well, Doug Ford, Doug Ford, who is a complete political hack.
00:05:52.440 By the way, guys, if you live in Ontario, vote for the new blue party.
00:05:55.720 Doug Ford has literally backed the Liberals on every stupid subsidy program and green energy boondoggle that the Liberals have invested money in.
00:06:04.740 They even backed the Liberals on the stupid cricket factory because Ford has no integrity.
00:06:10.720 Anyways, also think about running for the new blue party if they don't have a candidate in your riding.
00:06:15.560 Great service to Canadian patriots.
00:06:17.460 The link for the new blue party is in the description below.
00:06:20.720 But that's his backup excuse, too, that Ontario voters are so voter fatigued.
00:06:24.780 They can't vote in two elections in just a few months.
00:06:28.060 Will it be an excuse?
00:06:29.580 Yes.
00:06:29.980 But Ford gave him the excuse because Ford wanted a year and a half early election.
00:06:34.940 Oh, I just don't have the mandate to negotiate a trade deal with Trump, even though that's not his job.
00:06:41.160 He's a premier.
00:06:42.200 Doug Ford, he needs a new mandate because of Trump.
00:06:44.400 Why? Well, because I need the authority to speak on behalf of Ontarians.
00:06:49.700 You have a majority government.
00:06:51.480 You already have that mandate.
00:06:54.220 This isn't an emergency where you have put forward something that's really audacious, that people are saying, we didn't vote for this, so we need a new election.
00:07:02.460 And I'm pretty sure the cards were all it was always in the cards that the premier might have to negotiate with, like, governors in the US or maybe the president or be in part involved in trade talks between the Canadian federal government and the US government.
00:07:17.540 This isn't something that requires a new election at all.
00:07:21.600 But I'll let Jagmeet finish here.
00:07:22.840 It happened to EI so that we would be better prepared if something happens again that disrupts our economy.
00:07:28.920 The liberals did not listen.
00:07:30.060 And so we are now in this position where we have an insufficient EI, a threat of tariffs.
00:07:34.360 Why would a more efficient EI help?
00:07:37.200 It would just be inflation.
00:07:38.520 It would just be inflating the currency.
00:07:40.640 Know what we need?
00:07:41.540 To lower income taxes, lower business taxes, lower business regulations, make it easier to do business here, that it doesn't matter if the Trump administration puts tariffs on Canada.
00:07:52.140 If they just did it out of nowhere, we're still the easier place to do business.
00:07:56.100 We are vulnerable to tariffs because it already sucks to do business in Canada.
00:08:00.580 And having more robust EI is not going to help anyone.
00:08:04.360 And many workers lying awake at night saying, am I going to lose my job or not?
00:08:09.020 So I hope that there is a plan moving forward.
00:08:11.600 Well, at least Jagmeet Singh appears to be losing his job.
00:08:16.300 Thank you for True North for clipping that.
00:08:18.060 Obviously, as a solo individual, I can't stay up on all of it.
00:08:21.360 Give them a follow because they're doing all the work clipping this stuff.
00:08:24.980 But check this out.
00:08:25.940 This is the current polling for this area of British Columbia.
00:08:30.980 I believe this is his current riding in Burnaby Central, or I think he might be in another Burnaby riding because, again, it's been so split up in that area of BC federally that it's really hard to get a reading on which riding Singh would be more naturally running in because his riding, literally half the riding is in one new riding and half the riding is in another new riding.
00:08:51.280 Look at this, safe BC for South Langley Abbotsford.
00:08:55.600 I'm just mentioning this one, even though that's not close to where he's running.
00:08:58.140 But this entire area, all of BC is currently blue.
00:09:02.080 This is his best option.
00:09:04.140 I don't even believe Burnaby Central is his current riding.
00:09:07.660 Who is the current MP for this area?
00:09:10.120 I don't even believe it's, it's, I don't actually believe that this is Jagmeet Singh's riding.
00:09:15.880 He's just completely down in it.
00:09:18.280 But there's, everything's safe conservative.
00:09:21.180 The closest it gets is to souk.
00:09:24.080 That's not, I believe that's like way up north or that's on the island.
00:09:27.400 There's nothing here for him to run in.
00:09:30.520 This is why he doesn't want the new election.
00:09:32.960 Jagmeet Singh has less principles than Justin Trudeau.
00:09:36.760 And that is saying something because I think that Justin Trudeau has negative principles.
00:09:42.220 I hope the guy loses so hard right now.
00:09:45.140 He does not deserve to be dog catcher anywhere.
00:09:48.780 He's an idiot.
00:09:50.220 And I have to cover this thing on the way out.
00:09:52.420 There are liberals out there who are cheering on the trade war.
00:09:55.700 Make no mistake, this trade war was 150% avoidable.
00:10:00.040 Could have been stopped within five seconds if the government had just said,
00:10:03.860 okay, we'll work with the Trump administration on border security,
00:10:06.660 but they have to also secure their side of the border too,
00:10:09.200 because we have a lot of illegal guns coming into places like Toronto from the US.
00:10:13.140 We could have played a sort of form of hardball where we ask them for stuff,
00:10:18.400 but we also comply in ways where it makes sense to.
00:10:21.740 But there are people like this, Tyler Meredith, who wants there to be more.
00:10:28.220 They want a trade war.
00:10:30.560 And he's a founding partner at Meredith Bozenkuhl and Phillips.
00:10:33.720 By the way, Ken Bozenkuhl was that fool who thought that Rajan Sani,
00:10:38.780 who could actually win the 22 UCP leadership race in Alberta.
00:10:43.060 I think she came in fifth.
00:10:44.140 It's going to be much harder.
00:10:45.460 And let's also remember, I think, which is maybe a lot of people don't understand.
00:10:49.380 We're going to have as a government tariffs,
00:10:51.680 because if we respond on a dollar for dollar basis,
00:10:53.580 it means we're taxing the imports that come back across the border towards us.
00:10:57.660 Which means if we're doing this on a dollar for dollar basis,
00:11:00.460 and it applies to all goods and services,
00:11:02.960 the government of Canada could record potentially $130 billion in revenues next year,
00:11:08.040 which would wipe out the deficit.
00:11:09.980 Guys, this could be great for the Canadian government.
00:11:12.840 You might be going bankrupt,
00:11:14.680 but think about all the juicy government revenue that they can get.
00:11:18.360 They could wipe out the deficit by making you suffer.
00:11:21.420 And would, I think, create an interesting question of how you recycle that in the economy.
00:11:25.580 Do you use tax cuts?
00:11:26.880 Do you use targeted industrial supports in order to help businesses in an emergency?
00:11:30.800 Do you help businesses with retooling?
00:11:32.600 Do you want to think about, you know,
00:11:34.680 extended employment insurance program supports for training?
00:11:38.160 There's a whole range of things you can do,
00:11:39.780 but I think what's different in this case from any other recession
00:11:42.340 is that the government is going to have money.
00:11:44.640 This man's insane.
00:11:46.200 This man is disconnected from reality.
00:11:49.780 Do you know what we should be doing?
00:11:51.280 Just cutting taxes.
00:11:52.660 This is my unpopular opinion on if a trade war happens and the U.S. tariffs us.
00:11:58.360 Do you know what we do?
00:11:59.800 We don't do anything.
00:12:01.220 What we do is we cut our own taxes in terms of we don't respond to them for like a tariff for tariff thing.
00:12:06.160 It's silly.
00:12:06.640 It's just punishing our own people trying to buy American goods.
00:12:09.560 What we do is we make our own goods cheaper.
00:12:13.080 We reduce taxes.
00:12:14.560 We reduce regulations.
00:12:15.960 We make it faster to get a business permit.
00:12:18.060 We make it faster to get new drilling permits for oil and gas, for mining, for all this stuff.
00:12:23.320 Is this going to happen?
00:12:24.260 No, because there are people like Tyler Meredith who have big thoughts on how government policy should be run.
00:12:31.020 I don't know if he advises the current federal government.
00:12:33.740 I don't care.
00:12:34.800 There are dozens of people like that.
00:12:36.920 They are absolute buffoons who think that every opportunity to tax people is a good idea.
00:12:43.900 Every opportunity we get to bring them in more government revenue, that's great because it might help a client of Tyler Meredith out there because he can get them a targeted industrial business support or whatever.
00:12:56.520 That's it for me today.
00:12:58.260 That's my rant.
00:12:59.220 Canadian news sucks right now.
00:13:01.460 Like the video.

00:13:05.140 I'm going to go drink some very common cam meal tea.
