Summary

The Canadian legacy media is acting like spoiled, petulseless children since Pierre Polyev became Prime Minister. They no longer have the unearned credibility they came to expect, the ability to ask garbage smear questions to a Conservative leader and be taken seriously, and now they think they're being bullied and oppressed.

00:00:00.000 It's been a lot of fun to watch the Canadian legacy media acting like spoiled, petulant children ever since Pierre Polyev became the Conservative Party leader.
00:00:09.000 Under Aaron O'Toole, the media was flying high.
00:00:12.020 They could ask him any smear question they wanted, he would take them seriously, and he'd probably end up apologizing for something he didn't even do or his base didn't even do.
00:00:20.960 And now under Pierre Polyev, he no longer extends to the media the unearned credibility they came to expect, the ability to ask garbage smear questions to a Conservative leader and be taken seriously, and now they think they're being bullied and oppressed, as if they've lost a fundamental freedom that they expected as journalists to walk up to a political leader and say that they were a conspiracy theorist and far right and not get any pushback.
00:00:44.700 The perfect example of this today is Susan Delacorte, a writer over at the Toronto Star, reacting to the ongoing fact that Polyev does not take them seriously anymore, and thinking that somehow Polyev is in the wrong here.
00:00:58.900 So here's what she wrote on Twitter above one of her own articles.
00:01:02.740 She says, we've had a lot of questions about Pierre Polyev and his recent shots at the Toronto Star.
00:01:07.560 Here's a reply and another question for him.
00:01:09.680 Can he take what he gives out?
00:01:11.760 And here's what the full headline of the article was.
00:01:14.140 It says, Pierre Polyev can dish it out.
00:01:16.500 Why can't he take it?
00:01:17.740 If the Conservative leader becomes Canada's next Prime Minister, he'll face all kinds of tough queries.
00:01:22.600 Maybe he should start getting used to them, Susan Delacorte writes.
00:01:26.520 No, it's you guys who have to get used to the fact that you no longer have unearned privileges where people take you seriously just because you come from the Canadian press, the Toronto Star, the CBC or CTV.
00:01:37.540 Your institutions are garbage, run off of taxpayer money.
00:01:41.400 And so you guys just throw out liberal bias questions out there and you're in such a tight little bubble in Toronto that you think that somehow you are an objective news source and that Polyev better take all your questions seriously.
00:01:54.520 All the questions the other day were basically trying to blame Polyev and the Conservatives for the layoff of workers at Bell Media.
00:02:01.380 I'm not sure if any of these journalists have checked.
00:02:03.500 The Conservatives are not in government.
00:02:04.840 They're saying like there was some amendment that Conservatives asked to be added to a piece of legislation that caused Bell Media to lose all these workers to have to lay off 4000 employees.
00:02:13.220 No, that's not what happened.
00:02:16.340 Again, the Liberals, the NDP and the bloc pretty much have all the power in government right now.
00:02:21.920 They could do whatever they wanted.
00:02:23.600 Bell Media lost a bunch of jobs because Bell Media got used to the subsidies that the Liberals were giving them and all their content started sucking.
00:02:31.220 And now because there was some minor tweak to funding, now Bell Media has to get rid of all of this, like all these extra employees because they can't justify it anymore with the low advertising revenue that they're bringing in.
00:02:44.960 But Susan Delacorte thinks that this, the problem here is that Polyev can't take it.
00:02:49.920 No, no, no.
00:02:50.400 Polyev every single day is taking it from you guys.
00:02:53.120 Every time he gets up at a press conference, he gets nonsense questions asked to him.
00:02:57.420 And because he pushes back, that is considered the first aggression.
00:03:00.420 We completely forget all the journalists who accuse him of being far right, accuse him of somehow dog whistling to conspiracy theorists and whatnot.
00:03:09.180 And if he dares to push back, well, I can't believe he would attack that neutral journalists.
00:03:13.660 They were just trying to ask a tough question.
00:03:16.320 Not every question is a tough question.
00:03:18.800 Just because a question has a hard edge to it doesn't mean it's a tough question.
00:03:22.420 Half the time, it means it's usually some sort of a smear question that is trying to set up a journalist to bait them into saying the wrong thing so that they can be clipped all day and they can be accused of being radical or fringe or whatever.
00:03:35.580 Polyev has learned to play this game.
00:03:37.760 And so whenever he is asked questions by these people, he asks them questions back because they haven't thought through their own questions.
00:03:44.660 They're trying to get to the conclusion of being able to accuse Polyev of being a bad person.
00:03:49.980 So whenever he says, well, tell me why you think that or who said that or what piece of legislation was that that we did, none of them can answer it because they don't think it through.
00:03:58.980 These aren't tough questions.
00:04:00.080 They're actually complete fluff questions.
00:04:02.380 They're fluff questions trying to take down the conservatives and benefit the liberals.
00:04:06.580 These people are obviously defending their subsidies and they feel so righteously indignant as they answer these questions as if they are fighting for free press in Canada.
00:04:16.440 You guys aren't the free press.
00:04:17.700 You're the subsidized press.
00:04:19.440 You guys spit on actual independent journalists who aren't given taxpayer money as if we're illegitimate, even though a lot of the time we do far better digging and researching on issues than you guys ever will.
00:04:30.800 It is horrific to watch the CBC, CTV, the Toronto Star's coverage of any media issue, and they lose like half the facts in writing the article, trying to angle it towards a pro-Trudeau narrative.
00:04:42.720 These people don't deserve any respect, and it's hilarious watching them continue to not understand that pure Polyev will not bow to them.
00:04:50.200 Anyways, that's it for me today.
00:04:52.060 I'll be back in another video tomorrow.
00:04:53.740 I just want to get this out as a small, quickie video.
00:04:56.600 See you guys later.
