Summary

Justin Trudeau said that the economy doesn't matter, and that bankers should be worried about that. I don't care about the economy, it's for the bankers to worry about. You are too stupid to help.

Transcript

00:00:00.880 You will find that especially in politics, people who treat others like they're stupid tend to be pretty stupid themselves.
00:00:09.880 I think this perfectly describes Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and so many of his liberal ministers and MPs.
00:00:17.260 They don't know anything, and because they're so ignorant, they think they can condescend to you without you noticing and say stuff like, Canadians know, before spewing out a bunch of uninformed nonsense.
00:00:31.240 And Justin Trudeau put this on perfect display the other day, went at a press conference, he basically said the economy doesn't matter, and that's just something for bankers to be concerned about.
00:00:42.760 I'm going to play that clip for you in just a second, but before I get into that, I just want to remind you guys, if you're not yet subscribed to this channel, please hit that subscribe button, like this video, leave a comment, and if you want to support the show, you can donate to the Give, Send, Go legal fund, both linked in the description below and pinned at the top of the comments.
00:01:00.720 And also in the description and the comments is my website, WyattClaypool.com.
00:01:05.560 If you want my recommendations for local nominations, both federally, provincially, as well as leadership races, federally and provincially, sign up there and I can basically send you my thoughts on good conservative candidates to represent your area.
00:01:18.540 Anyways, without further ado, here was Justin Trudeau at this press event, and this was in response to a lady with a good question saying, okay, it's great that you have this new program to get kids lunch at school, but how is this going to help the macro economy?
00:01:35.880 It doesn't make any of these kids' parents better off.
00:01:39.580 This is just a small little benefit to the kids themselves.
00:01:43.400 Why don't we have programs that make life better for everyone so they can afford to feed their own kids?
00:01:49.140 Whether it's investments in the school food program.
00:01:52.680 And I take a little bit of issue with what you said about what the economy needs.
00:01:57.520 What the economy needs is for people to be able to afford their groceries.
00:02:01.100 What the economy needs is people to be able to be optimistic about the future we're building with good jobs, good opportunities for their kids.
00:02:09.180 Oh, my goodness.
00:02:10.640 Kamala Harris in the U.S. is basically just the female version of this.
00:02:14.100 Oh, I take a little umbrage with you saying that this isn't helping people or people don't care about this because people need to be able to afford their groceries.
00:02:24.000 People need to be able to be optimistic about the future.
00:02:26.200 Okay, what does giving kids a sandwich and an orange at school do to make people optimistic and better off?
00:02:33.960 Yeah, I guess it gives people a small benefit.
00:02:36.260 Now they don't have to pay, you know, $2 to make their kids lunch in the morning.
00:02:40.440 School lunch does not cost a lot.
00:02:42.480 If he cut taxes, people could pay for their kids to have whatever they want at school.
00:02:47.380 But he's going to treat other people, you know, people at this press event and Canadians in general like they're dumb, and they need to be told that having money is good, even though he's not actually giving you back almost any of your own money.
00:03:01.000 Yeah, there's that new HST-GST cut, and he's going to ship everyone $250 in April, but that doesn't really do things for the macroeconomic conditions.
00:03:11.420 These little cutouts don't actually make the economy better in the long run.
00:03:14.780 It's a little, you know, relief, but people are mostly just going to hold on to that money because they know it's not the cuts in tax are going to last forever.
00:03:23.220 It's going to last two months.
00:03:24.580 We're focused on Canadians.
00:03:26.220 I'll let the bankers worry about the economy.
00:03:28.440 We're focused on building opportunities for kids in a fundamental way.
00:03:34.160 He basically just said, I don't care about the economy.
00:03:36.360 It's for the bankers to think about that.
00:03:38.320 I'm just trying to help.
00:03:40.080 Stop helping.
00:03:41.260 You are too stupid to help.
00:03:44.040 You are too Dunning-Kruger to help.
00:03:47.660 If you guys don't know what the Dunning-Kruger effect is, it's that idea that people who have a little bit of knowledge about something oftentimes are the ones who think they know the most.
00:03:57.880 Trudeau basically knows that money is in the economy, and he likes money.
00:04:02.320 And so he thinks he knows everything there is to know about economics.
00:04:05.800 But if someone presses him enough on why his plans aren't helping the economy, he's like, ah, bankers.
00:04:10.820 Bankers have to think about that.
00:04:11.980 I'm here helping people.
00:04:13.860 You don't have the skills required to help people.
00:04:17.460 You are too befuddled to help people.
00:04:19.640 Being there to support families, because an economy works when families are confident about the future.
00:04:26.300 That's why we continue to grow the economy from the bottom up, from the middle out, while Pierre Polyev talks about cutting supports for families, cutting the investments in the future that Canadians are going to be relying on.
00:04:38.340 I guess we can just grow the economy on good vibes and emotions.
00:04:42.540 We just need to feel better.
00:04:44.380 It's like Care Bears.
00:04:45.740 We just need to come together and love, and then the economy will grow.
00:04:50.780 We just haven't made enough love investments in the economy, apparently.
00:04:55.940 Justin Trudeau is even the worst offender at all this.
00:04:59.040 One of the ministers sitting behind him, I believe it's Child Service Minister Jenna Suds here, talks constantly like everyone's been lobotomized.
00:05:09.300 I don't know how they get these people.
00:05:11.700 They need to get way better PR teams inside the Liberal Party.
00:05:15.060 Like, I don't want these people to win the next election.
00:05:17.440 Far from it.
00:05:18.660 But if anything, I wish the Liberals were more formidable because it allows the Conservatives to be lazier the more pathetic the Liberals are.
00:05:25.440 This is how Jenna Suds actually talks in a video where she's supposed to be, like, trying to get on the same level as other people.
00:05:32.940 She thinks she is so high up and everyone else is so far down that she immediately goes into stupid people voice whenever she's talking about government programs.
00:05:43.240 Have you ever been hungry as a kid?
00:05:46.420 Have you ever been at school and not been able to focus on learning because you've been hungry?
00:05:51.800 Or there haven't been enough snacks to get you through the day?
00:05:57.360 Why is she talking like this?
00:06:00.540 Why?
00:06:01.960 Like, what is this crazy vocal fry and being like, I'm up here and you guys are down there.
00:06:08.340 Have you ever been hungry before?
00:06:10.320 Have you ever been human?
00:06:11.960 Have you ever felt tiredness and sleepiness?
00:06:16.300 What is this?
00:06:17.420 Who let her on camera?
00:06:18.640 It's wild that anyone lets her do this.
00:06:25.420 Children learn better when they have a full stomach.
00:06:29.680 But not all parents can afford to send their kids to school with healthy foods.
00:06:35.800 Who can't?
00:06:36.900 Honestly, who cannot send their kids to school with, like, an apple and a sandwich?
00:06:41.640 It's way too affordable.
00:06:43.320 The economy sucks, and I know you're going to be able to find, like, a wild card parent who, like, working as hard as they can, cannot afford to do this stuff.
00:06:50.940 But this whole program was entirely unnecessary.
00:06:54.160 Just lower taxes.
00:06:55.300 If parents can't afford to do this stuff, lower their taxes.
00:06:59.220 Cut the GST permanently.
00:07:02.080 Cut a lot of the stuff permanently.
00:07:03.720 Cut the carbon tax.
00:07:04.740 Our school food program is ensuring that kids have access to healthy foods at school so they can focus on being kids.
00:07:14.940 We just signed a deal with Ontario to see 160,000 more kids receive food at school this school year.
00:07:23.760 That's a game changer.
00:07:26.240 Simply put, the National School Food Program.
00:07:29.660 You can even tell that she's trying to do another apple throw thing there, and then they just edited it out because it was a terrible bit.
00:07:35.020 That's a game changer.
00:07:36.700 She was even going down for, like, the throw.
00:07:38.680 This is torture.
00:07:41.620 Why do they do this?
00:07:45.000 Just have better programs for the one thing.
00:07:50.400 That's first.
00:07:51.240 First, second, don't talk to people like they've never thought of the fact that food might be good for kids to eat at school.
00:07:58.740 It's just horrifyingly ignorant to even talk to people like this.
00:08:02.980 Here's her.
00:08:04.220 And you could say, well, that was maybe a video for people, like, for kids to watch.
00:08:10.120 I doubt it.
00:08:11.200 All this stuff is, like, policy announcements.
00:08:13.440 But let's jump over to how she talks when she's on the news.
00:08:17.640 Jenna Suds talks on the news.
00:08:19.140 This is her on CTV News Power Play.
00:08:23.120 Well, frankly, if there is any child at a school that self-identifies as being hungry.
00:08:32.500 Who self-identifies as being hungry.
00:08:34.980 Oh, my goodness.
00:08:35.860 I think it's money well spent and an investment worth making.
00:08:39.000 If we spend hundreds of millions of dollars, I know that each of these programs, provincially, are probably not going to cost that much.
00:08:48.600 But altogether, it's going to be, like, tens of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars for this school lunch program.
00:08:52.840 If one kid, one kid, one child who self-identifies as being hungry is helped, then it was all worth it.
00:09:02.280 It was all worth it, guys.
00:09:03.620 We got one kid who is trans-hungry.
00:09:06.500 This kid is trans-hungry, not even actually hungry.
00:09:09.340 Oh, my goodness.
00:09:10.260 We have a trans-hungry kid over here.
00:09:13.100 They're actually full, but they want to identify as being hungry.
00:09:15.960 If that kid feels fed after we spend tens of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars, then it worked, guys.
00:09:22.960 It really did work.
00:09:23.940 And, of course, there's kids who go to school hungry.
00:09:26.680 That's just called being a bad parent.
00:09:28.720 There's no way that you can't give your kid, like, a peanut butter sandwich.
00:09:32.400 Maybe you can't do that because of peanut allergies.
00:09:34.480 There are a lot of really cheap options you can give your kids.
00:09:38.260 And if people truly can't afford this stuff, the thing we should do is not a government program.
00:09:44.080 The thing we should do is give their parents back some of their own tax dollars, and not the stupid way that Trudeau is doing it through, like, carbon tax rebates and $250 handouts here and there.
00:09:54.680 Just a full year, 1% cut off of the income tax of everyone solves a crazy amount of problems.
00:10:01.740 Cutting spending to reduce inflation, crazy amount of problems solved.
00:10:05.840 Cutting regulations, crazy amount of problems solved.
00:10:08.380 But they don't want to do that.
00:10:09.300 With one kid, one kid who identifies as hungry is made full.
00:10:16.700 From this money, it was all worth it.
00:10:19.700 Oh, my goodness.
00:10:21.320 Let's move on to another one.
00:10:22.880 Chrystia Freeland, because I referenced the whole Canadians know thing.
00:10:27.080 And she's talking about the GST holiday they're doing here.
00:10:30.280 Everything is condescending all of the time.
00:10:33.800 They don't know how to talk to people like they're functional human beings.
00:10:37.760 And the good news is, now that inflation is under control.
00:10:43.080 It's not under control.
00:10:44.420 It's just lower than it used to be.
00:10:46.480 Under control would be, like, inflation this year is negative 1% or negative 1.5%.
00:10:52.420 We actually are having our dollars valued more.
00:10:56.260 And the government could do that.
00:10:57.540 It could stop spending and then just take those dollars out of circulation because it was just inflation funny money.
00:11:04.060 But, like, no, they're treating you like you don't know how inflation works.
00:11:08.780 We had, like, 5%, 7%, 9% inflation for multiple years during COVID.
00:11:13.920 And now they're like, oh, inflation is only 2.3% now.
00:11:16.880 Yeah, on top of all that other inflation, we have more, 2% more inflation.
00:11:21.680 Goodness.
00:11:21.920 It's been the Bank of Cannabis target range for 10 months in a row that has allowed the bank to bring down rates.
00:11:30.460 And that has created the space for us to provide...
00:11:34.520 What's with this ukulele music, by the way, too, in the background?
00:11:38.020 It's like we're in a Kickstarter campaign.
00:11:39.700 A little more relief for hard-working Canadians.
00:11:44.440 This is going to be about giving just a little bit of extra help to families over the holidays from the middle of December to the middle of February.
00:11:55.180 What do people know deserve help after that?
00:11:58.540 What is this?
00:11:59.640 Their own campaigning gives lie to what they're doing.
00:12:04.220 If it's so good, then keep it.
00:12:06.860 But if it's just a stupid electoral handout because you can't actually afford to cut the GST that long because you're overspending and you don't have the money to pay for it unless you get to bring the GST back, stop lying.
00:12:19.740 Stop lying.
00:12:21.080 Just get rid of the carbon tax.
00:12:22.640 If you care about people's savings, do that.
00:12:24.780 Cut income taxes.
00:12:25.680 Cut corporate taxes.
00:12:26.560 Do all that stuff.
00:12:28.420 So, wait, wait.
00:12:29.460 So how is the GST sales tax being removed?
00:12:31.880 Is it helping Canadians if supposedly the only reason prices are high is because of gouging from grocery store giants?
00:12:39.640 That's what Trudeau and Singh keep alleging.
00:12:42.880 It's price gouging.
00:12:44.320 Well, if you lower the GST, wouldn't all the prices just go up because then the corporations will just steal that money themselves?
00:12:51.580 They'll raise it 5% if the GST goes away in Alberta so they can keep profiting.
00:12:56.580 Or is it that if you actually lower taxes, then the grocery stores will then benefit from people buying more?
00:13:03.700 They have such a cartoonish view of the economy because they themselves are dumb.
00:13:11.500 And they think that you will buy this stuff because they are so Dunning-Kruger.
00:13:16.260 They think they're geniuses and you think they're a genius.
00:13:19.180 And whenever they start condescending to you, they're teaching you.
00:13:22.700 And we are going to have a GST holiday.
00:13:27.080 So prepare for this.
00:13:28.380 Sorry, what was that?
00:13:29.540 They're getting like B-roll here and they got her.
00:13:33.320 What has she got here?
00:13:34.720 She's holding like a thing of like almonds, some spice.
00:13:37.360 And she has like old El Paso, like taco seasoning in her hand.
00:13:40.780 Like what is she like in the middle of her little press event here?
00:13:43.220 She went and bought herself some ingredients.
00:13:45.340 So prepare for this lifting the GST.
00:13:48.200 Restaurant meals lifting the GST.
00:13:50.880 That's going to include beer and wine in the GST.
00:13:55.400 And it's the holidays.
00:13:57.040 So we're also lifting the GST on a tearfully chosen basket of holiday gifts.
00:14:06.820 Why not just all?
00:14:08.080 Why not just have the GST lifted on everything?
00:14:10.920 Oh, well, we still need government revenue because we're spending too much.
00:14:14.340 Oh, my goodness.
00:14:15.100 Thanks, guys.
00:14:15.640 Maybe we should cut spending for a holiday for all Canadians.
00:14:19.440 How about we have less burden of stuff to pay for by getting rid of all the nonsense?
00:14:23.700 We have DEI stuff alone, HR alone, slashing those, eliminating all DEI and then like slashing HR 50%.
00:14:32.440 We could all be getting back hundreds of dollars per year just on that stuff.
00:14:36.580 Kids' clothes, diapers, car seats, kids' shoes, also on toys for your kids, also on books and periodicals.
00:14:47.700 Oh, my goodness.
00:14:51.820 They're the worst.
00:14:53.300 They're the worst.
00:14:54.660 Yeah.
00:14:56.120 These people are the worst.
00:14:58.920 Everything's so condescending.
00:15:00.580 All these people who just pretend like you're so dumb that they're going to glamour you through like handing you back your own money.
00:15:07.880 And you're going to be like, oh, my goodness.
00:15:08.660 These people are so generous.
00:15:10.020 They gave me $250.
00:15:11.040 I'm like, yeah, they give you your own $250 back.
00:15:14.780 This is taxes in Canada, in every province, including Alberta, is higher than the highest cost state in terms of income taxes in the U.S.
00:15:25.600 That shouldn't happen.
00:15:27.120 That's also why I push on people like Daniel Smith in Alberta.
00:15:30.340 Let's lower the income tax bracket.
00:15:32.360 Let's go back to a 10% flat tax.
00:15:34.940 Super easy.
00:15:35.720 Ralph Klein did it.
00:15:36.580 Let's stop pretending like, oh, man, Ralph Klein was the greatest premier ever.
00:15:40.160 And then we just don't do what he did.
00:15:42.620 We always like pay homage to Ralph Klein in Alberta.
00:15:45.360 And then our premier since then have just never actually followed in his lead.
00:15:49.860 It's annoying.
00:15:50.900 Ontario, the upper tax brackets, because I didn't even know this for the longest time.
00:15:55.700 And this is, again, Doug Ford and like the Ontario premiers over time also think you're stupid, that their upper tax bracket in Ontario is technically only 13%.
00:16:05.160 But after you pay about $5,200 in taxes, you get a 20% surcharge added to everything you pay past that until you hit about $7,200 in taxes that you've paid.
00:16:17.560 And then you owe them another 36% on all the taxes that you pay past that.
00:16:22.380 So the actual upper tax bracket, if you're making like over $300,000, I know most people don't make that much.
00:16:28.240 The whole point is that those are business owners and people who create jobs making that much.
00:16:32.200 The upper tax bracket in Ontario, when you take all this into account, is like, I think it's like 30, like it's like 20.5%.
00:16:42.760 And when you combine that with federal taxes, you're paying like 53% of your taxes in Ontario in upper brackets, before you've even paid property taxes or sales taxes.
00:16:55.700 It's stupid living in this country with all these stupid politicians who think we're stupid.
00:17:02.500 Anyways, that's it for me today, guys.
00:17:05.380 If you want to support the show, you can do what I mentioned before.
00:17:07.900 Subscribe, like this video, leave a comment, donate to the Give, Send, Go Legal Fund.
00:17:13.760 And I encourage you all, sign up on my website, wyattclaypool.com.
00:17:17.100 I'm only going to contact you if you happen to live in a riding where there's a nomination going on and there's more than like 10 people signed up on the list.
00:17:24.160 There's not much of a point in me like contacting one person to say, hey, you should back this guy.
00:17:29.040 But if there's like really good conservative nomination candidates in your riding or there's a great leadership candidate in your province,
00:17:35.280 we have two provinces about to go into leadership races, Manitoba for the PCs and New Brunswick for the PCs.
00:17:41.440 I can sort of like rank people in order of how conservative they are.
00:17:45.400 I'll be making videos on those races as well.
00:17:47.920 But even as far down as like a provincial nomination for a conservative provincial party,
00:17:53.460 I can like tell you who's the guy who's actually conservative, who's not going to treat you like an idiot
00:17:58.280 and just actually cut taxes, actually deregulate, actually do the things that we want people to do in politics
00:18:04.660 with no excuses added on for, well, you have to understand there's a lot of regulations that have to go around.
00:18:09.760 Then slash them.
00:18:10.860 Oh, my goodness.
00:18:12.080 Well, every video I do turns into a rant.
00:18:15.140 Hopefully you guys don't hate me for it.
00:18:16.920 See you guys next time.
00:18:17.800 See you next time.
