The National Telegraph - Wyatt Claypool - Justin Trudeau's Marketing Sucks

00:00:00.000 I think I've developed a severe allergy towards terrible political marketing and advertising

00:00:04.660 materials. It doesn't matter what party it comes from, the Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, Greens,

00:00:09.600 it all hurts my soul because I know that on the other end of all this material, there is someone

00:00:14.160 being overpaid to basically hurt their own party. It almost makes me feel empathetic to Justin

00:00:19.560 Trudeau because the Liberal Party's advertising these days has only been getting worse. And you

00:00:24.600 think that about there's probably someone who's putting this stuff out who's being paid like $80,000

00:00:29.120 a year just to make Justin Trudeau somehow look worse than he already is. Just look at this tweet

00:00:34.420 that came out of the official Liberal Twitter account. It reads, the team, the plan, let's

00:00:41.540 keep delivering for Canadians. And it's like, okay, this very spare, simple Twitter post is

00:00:47.980 not helping the Liberal Party. If they're going to be actually trying to win back Canadians and

00:00:52.500 trying to climb back into the polls, they have to be saying, what are we going to fix? Here's

00:00:55.940 the mistakes that we made. And here's how we're going to make it better in the next year. By just

00:01:00.620 sort of saying everything that we're currently doing is fantastic. They're just going to be

00:01:04.280 continuing to alienate more Canadians because a lot of Canadians think they're out to lunch and

00:01:08.260 don't realize that their policies are hurting people. And frankly, when I read this post, I read

00:01:13.200 it as the team sucks. The plan sucks. Let's keep not delivering for Canadians. It's almost so simple. 1.00

00:01:19.440 Your mind wants to insert more words into it. Like the team, what team? It's Justin Trudeau and

00:01:25.740 a bunch of people who might as well be wearing masks of his face. There's no team here. And like

00:01:31.480 the plan, what plan? Like the literal plan has not changed in the last eight years unless he's

00:01:37.700 claiming that it's somehow going to get super good if he just keeps pushing the plan further.

00:01:42.080 Taxes and calling problems racist is not a plan. But I just wanted, this makes me want to have to

00:01:47.800 bring up this clip of Justin Trudeau from that press conference that photo was from talking about his

00:01:52.520 new, the new part of his plan, which is the continuation of the old part, which is continuing

00:01:57.060 to tax problems and then likely calling them racist in a few months time. It's not okay

00:02:01.780 that our biggest grocery stores are making record profits while Canadians are struggling to put food

00:02:08.760 on the table. So Minister Champagne will be calling on the heads of large grocers to come to Ottawa

00:02:15.080 with a plan to address the rising cost of food. And we expect to hear from them by Thanksgiving

00:02:21.880 on what their plan is to stabilize prices.

00:02:27.560 Okay, so effectively his plan is extorting grocery stores because they're making record profits. And

00:02:33.940 for anyone out there who's going to accuse like Loblaws or any of these big grocery store

00:02:38.180 chains of gouging people in terms of price, you have to realize that these large big box grocery

00:02:45.980 stores make extremely little margin on every product they sell. The typical margin for Walmart,

00:02:51.580 and it's probably a little bit higher for Canadian grocery chains, but a Walmart usually makes about

00:02:55.880 3% profit margins on average for each product they sell. It's nothing. And it's a complete lie that

00:03:02.580 they're actually making record profits. There's actually been a fantastic post on Twitter from

00:03:08.360 Jagmeet Singh that got immediately community noted, which is a pretty damning community note that shows

00:03:14.660 how much he just does not research the things that he says. So here's Jagmeet Singh, and I'll just

00:03:19.700 quickly play the clip. It's about, again, him whining about Galen Weston and Loblaws and how people are

00:03:25.300 being price gouged. This is hilarious. Just take a look. You won't believe the news that I read today.

00:03:30.120 Sobeys, one of the large corporate grocery stores in Canada, just posted a 52% increase in profits

00:03:37.220 in the first quarter on food alone. Now this comes as no surprise. Okay. This is completely incorrect,

00:03:45.820 and I will scroll down and show you why. So this is the community note that's already been approved for

00:03:50.860 this, which I rated as helpful because of course it is. It says Sobeys net earnings

00:03:55.060 actually dropped last quarter from 173.7 to 149.4, and I assume that's in terms of like millions of

00:04:01.320 dollars. And then this community note goes on to say, this jump is in profit, he is quoting,

00:04:06.320 is from their parent company, Empire Co. Limited, and this was due to a sale of 50 sets of their gas

00:04:11.900 stations in Western Canada. So Jagmeet Singh has no clue what he's talking about, which is really

00:04:16.700 ironic because he literally started off the video by saying, you won't believe this, and I guess you

00:04:22.060 shouldn't actually believe this because if Jagmeet Singh is talking, he's probably lying, especially

00:04:26.660 whenever it comes to corporate, like corporate, like unethical practices or incredulity or whatever,

00:04:34.500 whatever. The thing with Jagmeet Singh too is that like he's probably one of the biggest allies of

00:04:39.700 large corporations because every single proposal he puts out that would potentially solve the problem

00:04:45.020 would effectively only give monopolistic power to these big box stores because everything he

00:04:50.940 proposes like higher wages for workers, you know, higher taxes on businesses, stuff like that, that

00:04:57.080 would only make sure that smaller grocery store chains would go under and places like Loblaws and Empire

00:05:02.860 Co. would just end up owning more of the grocery market. It's completely ridiculous. But this is 0.91

00:05:10.200 Jagmeet Singh's perspective on life. He's very much like Justin Trudeau. You know, they identify a

00:05:18.000 problem, they tax the problem, the problem gets worse, they tax the problem again, the problem keeps

00:05:23.240 getting worse, they call the problem racist, the problem gets worse, and then they just declare the

00:05:28.360 problem solved until people notice that the problem hasn't been solved, in which case the cycle continues

00:05:33.860 in where they start taxing it and calling it racist again. But I just want to move on to just

00:05:39.680 another post from Harjit Sajjan, because I don't think that the liberals understand that what

00:05:44.560 they're posting here is not at all appealing to Canadians. Again, I want the liberals to fail. So

00:05:49.800 I think they should just keep posting this stuff. But it again, hurts my brain knowing that someone's

00:05:54.960 being paid to advise the Liberal Party on how to market to Canadians. And this is stuff they come up

00:06:00.100 with. So Harjit Sajjan put out a Twitter post or probably a staff did that says conservative ignorance

00:06:05.340 and climate change is the threat to Canadians and the economy. I was in the Northwest Territories

00:06:10.220 last week speaking with Canadians who lost everything. Meanwhile, Polyev reschedules the

00:06:15.300 climate or yeah, yeah, Polyev reschedules the climate denial rally he had to postpone due to

00:06:21.760 wildfires in the Yukon. And it's like, okay, does he not understand that most people in the Northwest

00:06:27.620 territories and just Northern and Canada in general are probably going to be insulted by the fact

00:06:31.640 that Harjit Sajjan effectively only showed up to the Northwest Territories to try and market

00:06:36.680 against conservatives. He's not actually there to help. He's there to cross his arms, listen to people

00:06:41.340 nod, get a couple of good video clips, and then try and get votes out of it. He's not actually there to

00:06:45.880 help them, which is why the Liberal government and the Liberal government federally has not done a lot

00:06:52.020 for forest management. It is a partial provincial responsibility. But the federal liberals have had

00:06:58.220 like eight years to take care of it. And they've just never even touched the issue. Instead, they

00:07:02.700 tax the issue because they think taxes equal seriousness on an issue. And like, maybe that

00:07:08.220 I'm sort of rabbit holing a bit here. But that's one of the most annoying things in politics is that

00:07:13.220 people assume putting a price on something means that you're taking it seriously. Oh, we put a price

00:07:17.780 on pollution. Oh, we put a price on whatever. And I mean, like, we're going to put a price on like

00:07:22.680 intolerance or something like that by having some sort of like tax on social media companies if they don't do

00:07:27.420 like some sort of like misinformation, like work or whatever. Taxing an issue does not mean that you

00:07:33.180 actually take it seriously. It just means that you want money out of the issue. It means that you don't

00:07:37.900 actually care about what happens with the climate, you just want money in order to pretend that you're

00:07:42.200 taking the issue seriously, because it's a great little stream of income for the government and a

00:07:45.660 great way of buying votes by sending out rebates to people. It's completely like it's superfluous

00:07:50.800 government policy. It's just, you know, the most blatant way of pretending to take an issue

00:07:57.200 seriously while being able to profit off of it. But anyways, but this is what the liberal policy,

00:08:02.040 the liberal parties marketing has looked like for about the last three years. It's very much,

00:08:08.120 even though they're in government, pretending as if Stephen Harper is always kind of co-managing

00:08:12.500 the government that conservatives are always to blame for something. It's like when the wildfire

00:08:16.320 started off and like former liberal MP Catherine McKenna started calling conservatives arsonists,

00:08:22.180 as if the conservatives were in government the last eight years and blocking carbon taxes.

00:08:26.920 And that's why fires broke out. The liberals have been in charge. Things have been bad.

00:08:31.020 Yet somehow it's always that Polyev's holding an anti-climate rally. Polyev's opposing a carbon tax.

00:08:35.840 Polyev wants to give money to billionaires or something like that. Because I guess,

00:08:39.320 I guess cutting taxes is giving money to people, not just not taking it away, but whatever.

00:08:44.260 But it's either this or the liberals just pretending that everything's fantastic.

00:08:48.260 And the worst thing you can do when things are in fact actually kind of bad in the country

00:08:52.560 is just tell them, no, everything actually is great. You know, guys, the team, the plan,

00:08:57.980 don't you think it's fantastic? We put a check mark next to the team and the plan at Twitter

00:09:01.520 post. Don't you think that we're doing a great job? That's just insulting to people's like, you know,

00:09:06.800 basic instincts that when everything's getting more expensive and the government keeps doubling

00:09:11.260 down on the policies that they were running while everything was getting more expensive,

00:09:14.680 that they're probably not actually taking the issue seriously. And they're probably just

00:09:18.160 ducking the issue. But anyways, that's it for me today. I'm actually going to hopefully go over

00:09:22.640 some more liberal marketing material in the coming days. I'll probably link the video I did,

00:09:27.560 the interview I did with Clyde Do Something from his channel in the description of this video below.

00:09:32.540 I also am going to link in my Give, Send, Go for my legal fundraiser against a Chinese billionaire. 0.97

00:09:37.240 It's a defamation case. I'm currently winning it, although it's just still cost me over $15,000.

00:09:42.120 So any money you can chip in is greatly appreciated. And then I also have the TNT email list down

00:09:46.680 there. You can sign up if you want to get our videos and our articles sent directly to your inbox.

00:09:51.520 But that's it for me today. And hope everyone has a great afternoon.
