00:00:00.000 In another massive comms failure by the Liberal Party of Canada, in an attempt to attack
00:00:05.140 Pierre Polyev's Conservatives on the record of crime, the Liberals ended up just highlighting
00:00:09.380 how terrible their own record on the issue is.
00:00:12.960 For some reason, over the month of December, because of this voting marathon that happened
00:00:17.300 where the Conservatives had stated that they were going to oppose every single bill that
00:00:22.120 the Liberals put up unless they put a pause on the carbon tax for home heating, the Liberals
00:00:26.720 have been pretending that this now means that they can post about how the Conservatives
00:00:30.500 oppose every single good thing in the world because technically the Conservatives voted
00:00:34.860 against it or opposed it, even though they stated why they were doing so.
00:00:39.240 It's not working, and this post highlights why it's not working, because when you keep
00:00:43.860 accusing the Conservatives of being bad on some issues, it means that voters are going
00:00:47.720 to evaluate your own performance on the issues.
00:00:50.660 And it led to this baffling post about crime.
00:00:53.460 It reads, just this month, Pierre Polyev and the Conservatives voted to cut funding to
00:00:57.980 combat gun and gang violence, will continue standing up for Canadians and stopping Conservative
00:01:02.540 cuts. 0.71
00:01:03.360 Just nutty nonsense.
00:01:04.820 Also, the Conservatives didn't vote to cut anything.
00:01:07.760 They were not in charge of the legislation coming up for votes in the Parliament, and all
00:01:12.440 the Liberal votes were in order to increase funding of something or to divert money to another
00:01:17.980 initiative.
00:01:18.380 And the Conservatives just opposed it, saying that we will support it if you put a pause
00:01:23.700 on the carbon tax for home heating.
00:01:25.800 So the Conservatives never actually voted in favor of cuts because cuts were never what
00:01:30.220 was being voted on.
00:01:31.860 Regardless, whoever posted this from the Liberal Party, whoever strategized that they should
00:01:37.180 post this, should be fired.
00:01:38.900 I'm obviously a Conservative.
00:01:40.400 Shameless plug.
00:01:41.240 I'm running for the Conservative Party nomination for Calgary Signal Hill.
00:01:44.780 If you live in that running, buy a membership.
00:01:46.480 I have the description for my campaign, or the link to my campaign website in the description
00:01:51.220 below.
00:01:52.220 But anyways, whoever posted this needs to be fired.
00:01:55.420 And even though I'm a Conservative, I'll at least give the Liberals some advice as to
00:02:00.260 why you don't post something like this.
00:02:01.940 Because as soon as you post something like that, the typical voter, someone who's not
00:02:05.840 even that engaged in politics, is just going to sit back and think, well, what are you guys
00:02:10.240 doing on crime?
00:02:11.360 Well, didn't you guys lower a bunch of mandatory minimums?
00:02:14.720 Haven't you guys been the ones not actually trying to keep people, like granting bail to
00:02:20.900 repeat violent offenders?
00:02:22.460 Aren't you those people?
00:02:23.420 You guys passed Bill 75 and Bill 5.
00:02:27.060 You guys passed two bills that lowered minimums and reduced penalties for committing crimes while
00:02:32.880 out on bail or violating parole.
00:02:35.580 That's you guys.
00:02:36.460 That's what you never post stuff that makes your own, it gives your opposition or the
00:02:41.800 average voter, you know, room to look through your own backyard.
00:02:45.840 Never do that.
00:02:46.760 Although to be fair, if the Liberals were to avoid issues that they had a bad record on
00:02:51.360 because they don't want the Conservatives or just people out on the internet to counterpunch
00:02:55.260 them, they could effectively talk about no issues because they failed on all fronts.
00:02:59.400 But crime is probably the worst for them.
00:03:02.440 And I just want to highlight a few statistics to go through what the Liberals' record on
00:03:06.720 crime has wrought, just through Statistics Canada here.
00:03:10.460 So that reads here that violent crime has risen by 5% over the year 2022, following a 6% increase
00:03:18.280 in 2021.
00:03:19.720 Now, crime was down in 2020, not by that much.
00:03:23.380 Obviously, people were in lockdown, so they weren't actually able to go out and commit
00:03:27.760 crimes or it would have been riskier to commit crimes because it's harder to, you know, commit
00:03:31.900 a crime when you're the only one on the streets and police can immediately get to wherever you're
00:03:35.600 causing trouble.
00:03:36.880 But the fact that we have been having year on year increases in crime, I've literally been
00:03:41.440 doing a report on crime in the city of Toronto in the background of the show.
00:03:45.460 I'm finishing my master's degree.
00:03:47.820 And since Trudeau took office, almost exactly when he took office in 2015, we've been having
00:03:52.720 a few to like a 1% to like 5%, 6% increase in crime, I think even higher on some years,
00:03:59.120 every single year since he took office in 2015.
00:04:01.840 It's not been pretty.
00:04:03.620 And it has been a direct result of Supreme Court rulings, as well as a Liberal Party
00:04:08.820 legislation that takes crime far less seriously, that reduces mandatory minimums for gang
00:04:15.180 members carrying illegal weapons.
00:04:16.940 That's something they did.
00:04:17.880 And they have the, like, gall to try and go after the Conservatives on gun violence issues.
00:04:24.020 It's because the Conservatives supposedly don't want to confiscate assault-style weapons.
00:04:29.560 One, assault-style weapons is a nonsense term.
00:04:32.360 And two, law-abiding gun owners are one-third as likely to commit a violent crime compared to
00:04:37.580 the average Canadian.
00:04:39.280 The law-abiding gun owners are not only not the problem, they are the antithesis of the
00:04:44.340 problem, they are those who are definitely not committing crimes.
00:04:48.460 It is gang members and other criminals who the Liberals are letting get away with their
00:04:53.620 crimes who are the major cause of gun violence.
00:04:56.920 Who buys a gun registered to themselves to commit crimes? 0.99
00:05:01.020 That's a stupid crime, which is why nobody pretty much does it. 1.00
00:05:04.580 It's a blue moon scenario to ever happen. 1.00
00:05:06.920 But the Liberals, for some reason, think that you're just going to read this post and think,
00:05:11.860 wow, the Conservatives are trying to cut funding to combat gun violence and gun crime?
00:05:18.400 Nobody's actually going to think that, unless you're the most hardcore, true-and-on liberal
00:05:22.320 who thinks Trudeau can do no wrong, even if Trudeau admits he did something wrong.
00:05:26.700 That's happened in the past.
00:05:28.220 Trudeau's admitted he did something wrong, and the true-and-on folks are still trying to
00:05:31.720 justify why he's completely in the right.
00:05:33.820 It's nutty.
00:05:34.500 But anyways, moving on.
00:05:35.540 I just want to highlight a couple more of these statistics, because I do like the way
00:05:39.720 that statistics kind of lays things out.
00:05:42.120 One government department, if I was in government, I would not cut anything to.
00:05:45.380 They do good work.
00:05:46.480 I wish they actually had a better budget so they could make better graphics, but budget
00:05:51.500 limitations.
00:05:52.500 But crime severity in 2022 went up by 4.3%.
00:05:55.820 In crime for 100,000 people, 5%.
00:05:59.660 4.6% for violent crime.
00:06:02.440 Nonviolent crime went up by 4.1%.
00:06:04.300 And I hate the way that the left talks about nonviolent crime, shoplifting, loitering,
00:06:10.420 encampments by homeless people, drug use.
00:06:12.800 They act like they're all victimless crimes because no one got physically hurt.
00:06:16.960 Retail theft, all this drug use that happens in the downtown cores of our cities, those destroy
00:06:22.580 businesses.
00:06:23.040 They destroy neighborhoods.
00:06:24.800 It's a myth that poverty drives crime. 0.98
00:06:27.920 It is the most dumb correlation ever to think that because someone's poor, they're committing 0.98
00:06:33.600 crimes. 0.98
00:06:34.400 Every criminal is technically poor because no one wants to employ them because they're
00:06:38.180 a criminal.
00:06:39.200 It's actually, in fact, that crime drives poverty.
00:06:42.760 Go to areas with high crime, and it's always going to be that there's no businesses there.
00:06:46.960 Nobody wants to start a business.
00:06:48.180 There's crazy amounts of theft, so who in their right mind would try and sell anything when
00:06:52.480 you have to have so many extra security features and whatnot?
00:06:54.920 I worked in a liquor store.
00:06:56.580 Our prices went up significantly because of crime, because of all the extra measures we
00:07:02.240 had to take in order to try and prevent it or in order to raise prices to make up for
00:07:06.340 thefts we had.
00:07:07.360 It's just the reality of the world.
00:07:09.880 There's a reason why you can find poorer neighborhoods where nobody commits crime because
00:07:13.900 poverty has nothing to do with crime.
00:07:15.600 It's all about character and social stability, and the liberals have been doing great work
00:07:20.280 in destabilizing Canada's social bonds as well as making people poorer, and then they're
00:07:26.340 saying that, well, it's obviously poverty that's causing crime.
00:07:28.740 Well, if it is poverty, stop taxing people so much. 0.97
00:07:31.500 It's ridiculous. 0.90
00:07:32.880 They're illogic when it comes to the crime issue. 1.00
00:07:36.300 But anyways, I just want to highlight that incredibly dumb post. 0.99
00:07:39.700 It's great to see that they're being bit for it. 0.98
00:07:41.500 I think they were getting severely ratioed.
00:07:42.980 I don't think I showed the statistics in that tweet, but yeah, every comment's like, you
00:07:47.820 guys realize that you reduce mandatory minimums for illegal weapon possession.
00:07:52.440 There was so many people saying, hey, hasn't crime been going up?
00:07:55.420 Hey, hasn't been gun violence going up?
00:07:57.180 Hey, haven't you guys been literally not enforcing the law through these really loose
00:08:01.660 bail rules that you've been passing? 0.99
00:08:03.900 Everyone knows that they're full of crap on this. 0.95
00:08:06.640 Anyways, that should be it for me today. 0.93
00:08:08.260 I have my usual give, send, go link in the description of the video.
00:08:13.320 I'm being sued by a billionaire on behalf of the National Telegraph because we do good
00:08:16.940 reporting.
00:08:17.920 And so we ended up getting sued for it.
00:08:19.660 We are entirely, all the facts are on our side.
00:08:22.280 They're just trying to bleed us some money.
00:08:23.520 They specifically sued me in Alberta instead of Daniel Boardman in Ontario because Alberta
00:08:29.100 does not have anti-slap rules, which means that I can't file for this lawsuit to be thrown
00:08:34.100 out early.
00:08:34.560 I have to grind through it for a few years before I can apply to get it thrown out of
00:08:38.900 court.
00:08:39.580 So he's been just trying to incur costs on me.
00:08:42.220 So if you want to donate $5, $10, any amount of money in order to help me pay for this stuff,
00:08:47.340 it really helps me out.
00:08:48.960 Other than that, you can like, share, or subscribe.
00:08:51.440 That really also helps me out as well.
00:08:53.500 It ends up increasing revenue, increasing eyes on the channel.
00:08:56.220 I appreciate it all.
00:08:57.320 And then also, of course, like I said before, I'm running for the Calgary Signal Hill Conservative
00:09:01.360 Party nomination.
00:09:02.140 So if you live in Calgary Signal Hill, definitely buy a membership.
00:09:07.220 Make sure your family has memberships who live in the area so you can vote for me number
00:09:10.100 one in the nomination.
00:09:12.120 Even if you don't live in Calgary Signal Hill, make sure you know which riding you live in
00:09:16.140 federally, provincially, and which ward you live in in your city or town.
00:09:19.220 It's very important to know where you are geographically in terms of your standing in politics so that
00:09:24.720 you're more effective in knowing sort of what the on-the-ground issues are so that you can
00:09:29.940 more effectively advocate for conservatism.
00:09:33.540 You can go after left-wing politicians who might be in your area.
00:09:36.780 You can try and put in better conservative nominees into your riding if there's a nomination
00:09:41.660 race happening.
00:09:42.700 Always make sure you look up who the candidates are.
00:09:45.040 Make sure you engage because if you don't engage, you can't whine about what happens in
00:09:48.860 the country.
00:09:49.300 Other than that, I hope everyone has a fantastic day.
