00:00:00.000Major breaking news out of the province of British Columbia, the BC Conservative Party leader Carrie Lynn Finley has resigned after suffering through a long campaign of bullying and harassment directed against her.
00:00:13.220To talk more about this, I am bringing on Anthony Russo, who has been closely associated with Carrie Lynn Finley and been attempting to try and fight for grassroots members in the party as the BC Liberals are trying to take it back over.
00:00:50.540Apparently, it's only democracy if they win.
00:00:53.220throughout this entire thing, and we'll detail out everything that's happened up to this point
00:00:58.000in a bit, but throughout this entire situation, people keep repeating this misnomer that
00:01:03.400Carrie Lynn Finley only won the BC Conservative leadership by 60 votes, as if democracy isn't
00:01:09.080democracy if you only win by a small margin, when in fact, if you actually know how the whole race
00:01:15.040went, not only was Carrie Lynn Finley way outspent by all of her opponents, especially Caroline
00:01:20.420Elliott, but they were also making it as cumbersome as possible to actually get registered
00:01:26.780to vote, specifically targeting populist conservatives, trying to dissuade them from
00:01:31.440registering through the use of digital ID verification. And she still won. It doesn't
00:01:38.440matter what the margin is. It's remarkable that the person who spent the least in the race and
00:01:43.700had everyone attacking her by the end of it was able to pull out a victory against Caroline Elliott's
00:01:50.400behemoth of a campaign that is rumored to have spent up to $3.2 million losing against a woman
00:01:57.700who spent around half a million dollars. Anyways, but you were there from the very beginning when
00:02:04.540it comes to the KLF campaign, or I guess you were actually first on Caroline Elliott's campaign,
00:02:09.080but you were there at the very beginning of this whole leadership race, and you have good
00:02:12.660insight on what happened. But I think before we even get to that, we have to wind back the tape
00:02:18.300to before the 2024 BC election? What do you think happened back then and how is it connected to
00:02:25.660today? Yeah, so in the last election, obviously, John Rustad brought in quite a large portion of
00:02:32.900the BC United, BC Liberal candidates. You know, from my perspective, and I think this is widely
00:02:38.180shared, ever since the Liberal candidates have came in, there's obviously an exception to this
00:02:42.900rule, but many of them haven't been able to accept the fact that this is a Conservative party
00:02:47.860In fact, ever since the BC United integration into the Conservative Party, it seems as though this has really just been a long play to really just take over that Conservative branding and then just make it the Liberal Party 2.0.
00:03:01.800And obviously, that's come now to a climactic moment where the Conservative membership elected a Conservative candidate.
00:03:10.360And it led to the point where we had emergency caucus meetings trying to get her resignation, blackmail, all kinds of tactics, a smear campaign that's been going for the past several months, leaks coming left, right and centre.
00:03:22.120And all of this really comes down to the fact that the BC Liberal side is not willing to accept that we chose a Conservative leader and they just won.
00:03:30.520They have overridden all of our voice.
00:03:33.080And it's not just our opinion that these people are liberals.
00:03:59.960The difference between them and the BC NDP is effectively just the speed at which they destroy the province.
00:04:06.600They think that we should, the BC liberal types, that we should just gear down a little bit and drive towards the cliff a little bit slower.
00:04:14.980The BC Greens want us to drive even faster, but what kind of choice is this really for British Columbians if, like, you know, defeating the NDP in an election would mean that you're just going to have people warming the seat until the NDP come back.
00:04:29.640But this is what Carrie Lynn Finley had to work with in the inner caucus.
00:04:35.640And I think it's quite telling that many of the people who ended up leaving, staging these walkouts to make Carrie Lynn Finley look bad,
00:04:42.320mostly endorsed Peter Milibar, who came fifth in that leadership race, dead last.
00:04:49.920Yeah, I know. It's almost comical at this point.
00:04:52.740You know, we had phone calls yesterday essentially saying that Centre BC has directly communicated with some of the former Liberals on the Conservative side and said, hey, if you guys bring John Rustad back in as the leader after the resignation of Carrie Lynn Findlay, we'll coalesce, like we'll actually potentially fall in.
00:05:12.000So we're at the point here where John Rustad was already removed once, there was an immense amount of scrutiny and public backlash, and they're advocating for Rustad to come back?0.90
00:05:23.180I mean, that's just a clown show, isn't it?0.85
00:05:25.540Well, and they want a puppet, I think. That's really what they're trying to get at.0.73
00:05:29.420John Rustad is a spent political force, and so is, I would say, even Trevor Halford and anyone else who's still in this caucus who has sat by either doing nothing or was openly duplicitous.
00:05:40.380because we remember John Rustad was the person who kicked Dallas Brody out of the BC Conservative
00:05:46.040Caucus back in March of 2025 that precipitated all of the chaos up till today. Dallas didn't do
00:05:53.520anything wrong, simply stated that the Kamloops 215 hoax is a hoax, and that was too much for the
00:06:01.260delicate Liberal Party culture inside of the BC Conservative Party. And the fact that we're now
00:06:07.280discussing bringing in John Rustad or Trevor Halford, who was one of the main people organizing
00:06:12.960the coup of Carrie Lynn Finley in as a leader, or even worse, bringing in Caroline Elliott,
00:06:18.440who lost to KLF and apparently gets a redo by harassing her, the winner, out of the job.0.70
00:06:23.700It's just disgusting. And it's basically like spitting on the member's face and telling them
00:06:29.420to like it. Wyatt, we're literally at the point here. I know that you read the Western Standard
00:06:34.360article yesterday. We're literally at the point where this isn't just standard caucus pressures
00:06:39.440and pushback. You know, it's gotten to the point where we're now reading about three internal
00:06:44.540caucus members who have come forward to the news stating that there was a MLA who literally
00:06:50.140threatened Carrie Lynn Findlay yesterday that if she didn't resign by day's end, that they would
00:06:55.480be releasing a damaging audio of her husband. That's blackmail or extortion. I can't imagine
00:07:01.260in any world that it's legal. One of the things that's very hard for me to stomach here,
00:07:06.060as conservatives, sometimes it feels like we keep losing because we're not willing to stoop
00:07:12.120to the level of our opponents, where we'll literally take criminal action, like we will
00:07:16.600break the law to win. So because as conservatives, we won't do that, our voice is negated and we get
00:07:22.120pushed out. And that's the situation we're in right now. It's unbelievable. And a lot of this
00:07:27.280has been waged by both the kind of why i would say consultant bros who are running caroline elliott's
00:07:33.460campaign who also have allies who are currently sitting on the board of the bc conservative party
00:07:39.160you know some of these people and who they're connected to from having at one point been
00:07:44.360an organizer or volunteer on caroline elliott's campaign early on and maybe you can talk about
00:07:49.980them a little bit and then how this is kind of stymied klf's ability to even operate the party
00:07:56.240considering she inherits a board stacked by the Team Rustad people from before the leadership
00:08:01.880election. Yeah, man, we could go all the way back to the AGM. But basically, at this point,
00:08:08.020Carrie Lynn Finley has not had the support of the majority of the board of directors,
00:08:12.720and especially the management committee. And, you know, right now we have a president,
00:08:17.040Mauro Francis, and a vice president, Pavneet Singh, who nobody really knows how they were
00:08:22.240elected. You know, I spoke to one of the other management committee members, and I asked him a
00:08:25.640series of questions. I said, hey, when Asia Esty and Sharon resigned as president and vice president,
00:08:32.500how did the management committee select Mauro Francis and Pavneet Singh? It was a little quiet.
00:08:37.820And I said, was it voted on by the organizing committee while Mauro Francis and Pavneet Singh
00:08:45.440were still on the management committee? And they said, yeah, that's right. I said, so you're telling
00:08:49.880me essentially that they elected themselves president and vice president and they were
00:08:55.500supported by the two people who were resigning like these aren't democratically elected people
00:09:00.400this is just insanity and i should mention too that moral francis was never even originally
00:09:06.140on the board he was an appointee i believe to a gap that was on the board later on so we have
00:09:12.300someone who the members have never actually cast a vote in favor of calling the shots and attempting
00:09:17.980to stop Carrie Lynn Finley from operating, like allowing her to even hire a new executive director,
00:09:24.740her friend Elaine Allen, who was basically forced out for trying to lock down the party server
00:09:30.900after a data breach had happened. Yeah, I mean, the Western Standard did a great article on this,
00:09:36.680and I've had conversations with a lot of the team in regards to it. This has been one of the most
00:09:41.460divisive things that's come up recently. So Elaine Allen received some form of notification that
00:09:47.540former executives, including Angelo Isidoro and Phil Dipenar, were accessing party servers and to
00:09:54.540quote the Western Standard directly, accessing, altering and deleting party files upwards of
00:10:01.320three weeks after they were no longer a part of the organization. So she gets this notification,
00:10:07.500locks them out, and then starts backing up the files. At that point, she is suspended
00:10:13.660by Mauro Francis. And that suspension leads to her removing her name as executive director.
00:10:20.160So it's so ridiculous. This is who Carrie Lynn Findlay chose to be the executive director of
00:10:25.360the Conservative Party. And she was essentially pushed out for what? Doing the right thing?
00:10:30.920Trying to protect the membership list? Like, what are we doing?
00:10:34.820Pushed out by Mauro Francis, who, by the way, at one point, not that long ago,
00:10:40.200was a candidate for the Progress Vancouver party where he ran underneath the mayoral candidate
00:10:47.320Mark Marison the former husband of Christy Clark and was on the same slate as Morgane Auger that
00:10:54.960dude who dresses as a woman and celebrates the death of Charlie Kirk that was only back in 2022
00:11:01.200that was a slate Marle Francis decided to run on but I have been told that he is more of a more of
00:11:07.920man than you anthony by other uh credible voices on x yeah alex brown and uh and he might he might
00:11:16.660be more than a man than you if we're counting weight no i know why it's it's just um it's been
00:11:24.900a wild ride and um i think as much as we can laugh about it now i'm sure that you might be
00:11:30.160able to fill in some of the gaps here in regards to if this is similar to what dallas brody went
00:11:35.020through, it probably provides some context. I think that a lot of the members voted in good
00:11:40.220faith for the leader that they wanted to win. Carrie Lynn Finley won that race. And it's ended
00:11:44.700here where we've had a removal via blackmail, a board that's made coups against her, a caucus
00:11:49.940that's tried to knife her at every possible opportunity. We haven't been able to put forward
00:11:54.400a platform. We haven't been able to develop a campaign strategy where we can start to communicate
00:11:59.540about the issues that matter to British Columbians because we're constantly in emergency strategy
00:12:04.120meetings, trying to figure out how we're going to survive the next round of attacks. So it's made us
00:12:08.980completely unproductive, and it's now ended in this capacity. So what I'd like to ask you, Wyatt,
00:12:13.840does this provide any context for the people that are watching this play out right now with some of
00:12:18.780these bad actors? Is this what Dallas went through when she was removed from the party?
00:12:23.820I think that anyone who didn't believe Dallas before will believe her now, because this is
00:12:28.920pretty much exactly what happened. Obviously, Dallas was not the leader of the party,
00:12:32.720But it's the exact same playbook of manufacturing crises, manufacturing public outcry and instability and demanding that someone be removed because chaos, because have you read the news? Have you read the manufactured headlines that we've contributed to?
00:12:49.680When Dallas was forced out, it was an artificial takedown that was led by Peter Milibar and Alia Warbus, basically trying to gin up hysteria against Dallas Brody.
00:13:03.320And that's pretty much what happened, again, to Carrie Lynn Finley.
00:13:07.500Peter Milibar was one of the ringlears of it.
00:13:09.500Of course, he was the first man to stage a walkout of it and say, oh, I can no longer be part of this party anymore.
00:21:02.960Now, what I will say, there are some people who were core staffers and primary volunteers with Caroline Elliott who since have actually really come around.
00:21:12.960Like we've mended fences, we've been able to work together, but there's also still a large group of them that have never accepted the result of the leadership race.
00:21:20.600By the way, no Caroline Elliott endorsers have ever actually left the party.
00:21:26.020It was all Millibar. It was Ian Black. And then there was also like, I guess, people who didn't endorse, but they were part of like the leadership team of the party. But they were really pro Millibar. I work in the legislature and I have to witness question period, a horrific waste of time when it comes to most of the conservatives questions.
00:21:43.860And you could tell that they were giving every single question to Millibar people, because although Warbus and Rosalind Byrd and people didn't endorse Millibar, they were basically making sure if you do endorse Millibar, you get a question every day.
00:21:57.140You're going to get special treatment in caucus if you are, you know, on the team Millibar, even though he only got 10% of the vote. It's pathetic. You know, the fact that these guys think that they are the voice of BC politics and they can't win a simple leadership race or even come in at a respectable third place or something like that is insane.0.94
00:22:17.560Because the thing is, people have to know, if you get behind, whether it's Rusted, Halford, or Lauren Dirksen, or anybody else, anyone who didn't lift a finger to stand up for Carrie Lynn Finley, Dallas Brody, the leader of a different party, was more supportive of Carrie Lynn Finley's ability to get into the legislature and operate and see how she's going to perform.
00:22:39.460Dallas Brody was interested in seeing how Carrie Lynn Finley would do as leader.
00:22:43.980And it never happened because she never got to be leader since May.
00:22:46.800But the thing is, they constantly artificially pump up this sense of chaos, and then they blame you for the chaos, even though they're the ones sawing the way at the table legs.
00:22:56.500I mean, the last several weeks, we've had Anthony Koch on an absolute tear, constantly calling for the resignation of Carrie Lynn Finley.
00:23:03.920Like, some of these people just cannot accept where we're at.
00:23:07.180And I'm hoping that the public, the membership are going to start to identify some of these bad actors.
00:23:12.840They've been around the political landscape for many years.
00:23:15.400And you know what? We don't need to listen to these people anymore.
00:23:18.200They're here trying to do destruction.
00:23:20.080You know, the same thing applies to some of these former B.C. liberals.
00:23:22.720At this point, you know, if even a Lauren Dirksen were to come in, they're going to have pressure.
00:23:29.080They're going to have big pressure to try and bring back some of these traitor MLAs.
00:23:33.060They're going to have pressure because their $5 million line of credit is currently being reviewed, and they know they need to go into a potential snap general election.
00:23:41.680So what I'm frustrated with is it's constant capitulation, and at some point, we need to ask ourselves, where's the line in the sand?
00:23:49.800At what point can we say enough is enough?
00:23:53.620And I think that if people actually want to see change, again, shameless plug, but it is shameless.
00:23:59.860I don't have any shame about doing this.
00:24:01.420people should join 1BC because what else are you going to do wait in the lobby of the conservative
00:24:06.380party like metaphorically hoping that eventually they come out and actually trying to address
00:24:10.680grassroots needs they're not going to they don't care did any of the people who did this to klf
00:24:15.840ever think about the grassroots at all i've never seen one of them even invoke what the grassroots
00:24:21.000want this entire time they all joined center bc that has no party members because they don't like
00:24:26.860parties with members in them. Members are messy. They're like germs. They want to get as few of
00:24:31.400them on them as possible. And I think that 1BC can absolutely be the party for grassroots British
00:24:38.500Columbians, ordinary decent people who make the province run, especially in the forgotten parts
00:24:44.480of the province like the Fraser Valley, the Interior, and Up Island. All of these parts of
00:24:50.100the province need to realize that the Vancouver politicians, the Victoria politicians, do not
00:24:56.120care about you one bit. The only Vancouver politician who seems to give a crap is Dallas0.99
00:25:00.380Brody, the only non-NDP politician in Vancouver. But the rest of the lower mainland with the0.98
00:25:05.340conservative MLAs are pretty much no different. What are they going to do if they get into
00:25:10.240government? Slightly adjust things? Peter Milibar, when he was running for leadership,
00:25:14.440ran on getting rid of DRIPA, but then replacing it with his own version of DRIPA. That's what
00:25:19.040these people will do if they get into government. And it doesn't matter what they say. At the end
00:25:23.540of the day, once they actually get to the decision making point, they'll figure out a way of pulling
00:25:28.180victory from the jaws or defeat from the jaws of victory. Yeah, I mean, case in point, Brennan Day,
00:25:34.540I mean, it'll be a laughingstock if they were to bring someone like Brennan Day back here. Quite
00:25:39.120frankly, it should be a riding where a 1BC under a Brennan Day candidate should be able to dominate.
00:25:44.420I mean, that guy just sold out his constituents when he signed the Comox Treaty. He's not the
00:25:48.400only one but it was his own riding so yeah people are giving it away for fun money power and land0.89
00:25:54.160for nothing because it was nice and like that's so it's so pathetic that we are screwing over the
00:26:00.660people of bc to be nice and it's like that is what the actual you know that's that's what's0.62
00:26:07.180happening to europe right now that's happening to so many parts of the west it's just letting
00:26:12.280the hordes burn everything down because it would be rude to stop them yep at this point look here
00:26:18.380Here's the reality that I'm facing right now.
00:26:20.300The reality is we fought a hard leadership race.
00:26:23.780We won against a series of bad actors.
00:26:26.220And now they knifed us and we're dead.
