Summary

Justin Trudeau and the rest of the Liberal Party have a problem, and it's not Justin Trudeau's fault. It's the fault of the opposition leader, Pierre Palliev. He proposed a bill that would make it easier for developers to build more affordable housing, reduce taxes on landlords who lower rent costs, and make sure that money from the federal government is going towards productive projects, not just simply being strewn around.

00:00:00.000 Canadians have just witnessed yet another ridiculous day in our Parliament, courtesy of our failing Liberal Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
00:00:08.620 For literally months now, the NDP and the Liberals have been whining and crying at Federal Conservative Party leader Pierre Palliev because all he does is criticize us.
00:00:18.100 Why doesn't he come to the table with constructive solutions? Why isn't he helping us when it's his job to be the opposition leader, yet they would say that he needs to be more helpful and he needs to pitch in to help us solve the problems of the country?
00:00:30.880 Pierre Palliev just did, and they're still complaining at him. He put forward a very sensible housing bill, I'm going to get to it a little bit later in detail, Bill C-356, meant to try and lower tax on landlords who lower rent costs,
00:00:44.000 make it easier to build in the cities, and make sure that money from the federal government is going towards productive projects, not just simply being strewn around.
00:00:52.820 In response to this, this is a policy that a Liberal or NDP politician could vote for and not feel like they're going against their base.
00:00:59.940 It was very mild on purpose, because Pierre Palliev, in my belief, was exposing Jagmeet Singh and Justin Trudeau as complete frauds and weaklings,
00:01:09.620 even when he pitched in to help, even when he was giving sensible policies that they could vote for and, you know, being constructive and not criticizing,
00:01:18.780 they criticized him back for doing what they asked him to do.
00:01:22.300 Here's Justin Trudeau's weak response to Pierre Palliev's legislation.
00:01:25.860 Meanwhile, after having his housing bill panned by experts as being, quote,
00:01:31.340 With exceptionally weak response to the housing crisis, riddled with loopholes,
00:01:36.240 the Conservative leader chose to repeatedly delay debate in this House since October on his bill.
00:01:42.560 That's because he just doesn't care.
00:01:45.020 When he was minister, he lost 800,000 affordable apartments and only built six affordable homes.
00:01:53.980 Justin Trudeau shouldn't be using the word weak in regards to anyone but himself.
00:01:59.140 I know he's quoting experts, but he's trying to put the moniker of weakness on Pierre Palliev,
00:02:05.200 which is utterly pathetic for a man as cowardly and, might I say, weaselly as Justin Trudeau.
00:02:11.220 Pierre Palliev's legislation was perfectly sensible.
00:02:14.480 There was not loopholes in it.
00:02:15.760 There was nothing like that, that, like the liberals have tried to claim later,
00:02:19.600 that was going to tax people more or whatever, as if the liberals care about taxing people.
00:02:24.260 This is the post they made right before they posted that video of Justin Trudeau.
00:02:29.440 This post reads,
00:02:30.920 Breaking.
00:02:31.640 Pierre Palliev wants to tax builders and cut investment for affordable housing.
00:02:35.460 We stopped him.
00:02:36.640 Add your name and support to a real plan to solve the housing crisis.
00:02:40.020 That's not what Palliev's policy did whatsoever.
00:02:43.340 That's a complete inversion.
00:02:45.040 Well, he wasn't, he was trying to tax people for building affordable homes,
00:02:48.320 and he wasn't going to, he wasn't going to pursue more affordable building.
00:02:51.360 It's because he wants to avoid boondoggles that will not actually result in more units being built.
00:02:57.460 He wants to make sure that the cities are driving their own growth,
00:03:01.160 rather than the federal government coming on from over top and trying to force the growth their way.
00:03:06.640 This is where we're getting blanket rezoning bylaws or plans being passed all over the country,
00:03:12.260 like here in the city of Calgary, that are not going to build any more houses.
00:03:16.140 It's just going to build smaller houses that cost more per square foot.
00:03:20.080 But Pierre Palliev's solution was perfectly fine.
00:03:22.640 There's really great stuff in here.
00:03:24.400 And this is stuff that I don't think if you're the liberals or the NDP, you can really disagree with.
00:03:29.500 He had this part I thought was a great idea.
00:03:32.080 Provide a 100% GST rebate on a new residential rental property for which the average rent payable is below market rate.
00:03:40.140 And so giving rebates to landlords who provide rented units for below market value,
00:03:46.600 that gap in the market value that they're providing gets given back to them in a tax rebate.
00:03:52.060 Perfectly fine.
00:03:52.880 There's other parts of it trying to make sure that cities, if they're going to build affordable homes or densified housing,
00:03:59.560 it's around transit stations, not in residential communities that were not supposed to have hyper-dense housing.
00:04:04.920 It's trying to make sure that cities actually approve new housing builds faster,
00:04:09.460 that they increase their housing builds by 15% each year if they want more federal support.
00:04:14.840 That's perfectly fine.
00:04:16.400 That actually lines up with some of the priorities that the liberals and the NDP had.
00:04:20.600 Pierre Palliev's plan is specifically molded so that the NDP and the liberals couldn't possibly say no unless they're partisan hacks.
00:04:30.520 Spoiler alert, they are partisan hacks.
00:04:32.720 And so they voted against this.
00:04:34.380 Only 117 conservatives voted in favor of this.
00:04:38.100 And then all of the nays are liberals, NDP, Block, the Greens, everyone just naysaying what the conservatives want to do.
00:04:46.160 At the same time, they're saying, why aren't the conservatives helping us build the country up?
00:04:50.740 It's because you guys are destroying the country.
00:04:52.600 The conservatives put forward something that would actually be productive,
00:04:55.260 and you guys aren't into productive things, so you killed it on the spot.
00:04:58.480 Now, this is the problem with Canadian politics, is that you'll have the media pushing forward the narrative that Palliev's too negative.
00:05:06.200 Why is he so negative?
00:05:07.300 Why isn't he constructive?
00:05:08.340 At the same time, the NDP and the liberals are attacking him for being constructive,
00:05:11.980 and yet the liberal media narrative will continue to be that Palliev is too critical, too scrutinizing.
00:05:18.640 Why does he roll up his sleeves and help Justin Trudeau?
00:05:21.720 Well, it's because Justin Trudeau isn't into helping the country himself.
00:05:24.720 He might be the prime minister. It doesn't mean he really cares about leading the country or trying to be constructive.
00:05:29.940 He just simply wants his agenda passed, regardless of if his agenda actually makes housing more affordable or not.
00:05:36.280 Not only does the housing acceleration fund that the liberals have been pushing not actually make it so that we're building more houses,
00:05:43.060 year over year, for the past three or four years, we've been building less units per year,
00:05:47.020 because federal money does not equal more housing.
00:05:50.060 There's a reason why whenever you pass some sort of a stimulus plan on a federal level,
00:05:54.440 in point of fact, a lot of the time it actually reduces productivity in the areas that the money goes to,
00:06:00.520 because to get the federal money, you must follow federal regulations, environmental inspections, codes,
00:06:06.020 labor requirements that end up just eating up all of the money that that industry or that jurisdiction gets.
00:06:13.200 It's usually a complete fraud. It's just government dollars, federal dollars going towards a problem with no intention of solving it.
00:06:21.720 They just want people to think that they're solving it because they threw money at it.
00:06:25.200 And on top of all of this, we have the liberals and the NDP pushing into the country almost 500,000 new permit residents per year,
00:06:33.460 plus temporary foreign workers, plus foreign students.
00:06:35.980 And we don't have the housing space for them.
00:06:38.160 We don't have the jobs for them.
00:06:39.360 We don't even have the spaces in universities for them, where a lot of foreign students are now being defrauded
00:06:44.660 in these fake universities set up by immigration lawyers,
00:06:47.880 just so that they can be able to charge people their services to get them into the country
00:06:52.560 under the guise that they're going to get a business degree when it's just some fake organization set up in a mini mall.
00:06:58.360 The liberals and the NDP don't care about real solutions.
00:07:01.020 That's why they won't reduce immigration.
00:07:02.740 That's why they won't reduce taxes.
00:07:04.600 That's why they won't reduce crippling regulations on building.
00:07:07.820 They don't care.
00:07:09.580 They just like the perception that they care.
00:07:11.780 Pure Polyev actually seemed to care enough to put forward a policy that would actually make things better.
00:07:16.420 The liberals didn't like that.
00:07:17.580 Better is not actually better in their minds.
00:07:19.620 More government is better.
00:07:21.200 They don't like a solution that cuts the government out.
00:07:23.640 And a lot of what Polyev was doing was making sure that the government is less involved in housing
00:07:28.000 to make it easier to build, get the government out of the way,
00:07:31.140 give people back their tax dollars so that we can make things more affordable.
00:07:35.240 Nay, nay, nay.
00:07:35.740 Nay, that would actually be productive.
00:07:38.180 And so because Polyev didn't propose $5 billion and more spending, Justin Trudeau doesn't like the plan.
00:07:44.440 And so he shut it down.
00:07:45.600 On second reading, they didn't even have a fulsome debate.
00:07:48.320 At the same time, Justin Trudeau is going to pretend like Polyev was ducking debate.
00:07:52.300 That's because you guys were trying to fast track it and kill it as fast as possible rather than engaging in real discussion.
00:07:57.580 When your opposition immediately wants to debate it, sight unseen, they don't even care about the details of the bill.
00:08:03.760 They just want to start talking about it.
00:08:05.760 It's because they don't actually want to talk about it.
00:08:07.820 They just want to get to the debating as fast as possible so they can get to killing it.
00:08:11.640 And that's what happened just today.
00:08:13.560 The liberals and the NDP finally forced it to a vote to get rid of it without even being able to properly articulate what the bill was about.
00:08:21.940 Justin Trudeau is pretending that this was a bill about, you know, like making housing costs higher, about not building affordable homes.
00:08:28.640 That's the opposite of the bill.
00:08:30.500 But in Justin Trudeau's world, he's always right.
00:08:32.800 So it doesn't matter what he says.
00:08:33.920 It's correct.
00:08:35.500 That should be it for me today, guys.
00:08:37.220 Hopefully this video didn't come off too manic to you.
00:08:39.500 But I just want to quickly plug the fact that I, Wyatt Claypool, I'm running for the Calgary Signal Hill Federal Conservative Party nomination.
00:08:46.920 If you live in this riding, please mark me number one on your ballot.
00:08:49.940 Mark Michael Kim number two.
00:08:51.540 We need real conservatives representing these strong conservative ridings.
00:08:54.780 And if you don't live in this riding, consider always donating to my legal fund at the Gifts and Go link in the description below.
00:09:02.180 I also have a link to my campaign website there if you want to check it out if you live in the area.
00:09:07.080 But thanks for everyone watching.
00:09:09.140 I don't know why the end of my video is already so muddled.
00:09:11.440 I'm sorry about this, guys.
00:09:12.660 But thanks for watching.
00:09:13.560 Make sure to like, share, and subscribe.
00:09:15.520 And I'll see you guys next time.
