00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here.
00:00:03.300 So Canada's leaders are incredibly, incredibly stupid.
00:00:08.720 I'm going to break down this controversy over President Donald Trump ending trade talks with Canada over this Doug Ford ad,
00:00:16.280 but what I want to say at the start is what people say is not actually sometimes what they mean.
00:00:23.440 Trump ending the trade talks over an incredibly stupid ad that Doug Ford was running in the U.S. is not actually what Trump cares about.
00:00:32.340 Trump cares about getting concessions out of Canada, and he knows that our leaders are incredibly weak and will make concessions just to get back to the negotiating table.
00:00:42.540 But obviously in this video, we should start from square one.
00:00:46.260 What was the Doug Ford ad?
00:00:47.800 What did Donald Trump say about it?
00:00:49.260 And what stupid things have happened since then?
00:00:52.400 But before I get into it, guys, I do just want to say that if you like the channel, make sure to leave a like on this video, subscribe if you are not yet a subscriber,
00:01:01.340 and if you're already subscribed, hit the bell icon next to the subscribe button.
00:01:05.300 It'll let you know immediately whenever a new video is out from me.
00:01:09.120 And then, of course, leave a comment on what you think about all this objective nonsense.
00:01:14.980 But let's start off with this Doug Ford ad.
00:01:18.020 And so they were using the voice of Ronald Reagan here to try and make a point against tariffs.
00:01:25.360 And they were playing this in the American market.
00:01:27.480 When someone says, let's impose tariffs on foreign imports, it looks like they're doing the patriotic thing by protecting American products and jobs.
00:01:37.940 And sometimes for a short while it works, but only for a short time.
00:01:44.820 But over the long run, such trade barriers hurt every American worker and consumer.
00:01:51.780 High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation by foreign countries and the triggering of fierce trade wars.
00:01:58.080 Then the worst happens.
00:02:01.440 Markets shrink and collapse, businesses and industries shut down, and millions of people lose their jobs.
00:02:08.460 Throughout the world, there's a growing realization that the way to prosperity for all nations is rejecting protectionist legislation and promoting fair and free competition.
00:02:20.360 America's jobs and growth are at stake.
00:02:23.220 And so this ad, of course, as it was alluded to, because I said it was Doug Ford ads, Doug Ford's ad was run by the government of Ontario.
00:02:33.400 And I want to get into some stuff a little bit later about what firms were used to run this ad.
00:02:39.380 Because as Mario Zadea had posted on X, it actually looks like this firm was connected to Corey Tanike, a Ford ally's brother or something like that, or a family member.
00:02:51.840 And so we're dumping really stupid ads into the U.S.
00:02:55.180 But don't worry, guys.
00:02:56.220 It is benefiting PC Party insiders to do this sort of thing.
00:02:59.560 If anything, Trump's probably very happy they're running these ads because, hey, we're subsidizing the American advertising market to run stuff that will not hurt Trump in any way, shape, or form.
00:03:09.020 By the way, I agree with the words of Ronald Reagan.
00:03:12.500 I don't like protectionism.
00:03:14.020 But everyone acts like that's some sort of, like, you know, Uno reverse card.
00:03:19.040 You're like, well, you know, protectionism is really bad.
00:03:22.200 Okay, Canada has protectionism.
00:03:23.900 I agree that protectionism is bad.
00:03:26.000 We should want protectionism to be lesser on both sides of the border.
00:03:30.240 But people only ever care about American protectionism.
00:03:33.540 But now let's jump over to what Donald Trump said.
00:03:37.940 So we have Brian Lilly here reacting to Trump's post on Truth Social by saying, so basically we're screwed.
00:03:45.620 And Donald Trump says,
00:03:47.000 The Ronald Reagan Foundation has just announced that Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement, which is fake, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about tariffs.
00:03:57.600 The ad was for $75,000.
00:04:00.180 They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court and other courts.
00:04:05.040 Tariffs are very important to the national security and economy of the USA.
00:04:09.000 Okay, based on their egregious behavior, all trade negotiations with Canada are hereby terminated.
00:04:14.480 Thank you for your attention to this, Mr. President Donald J. Trump.
00:04:19.060 Okay, now this is where I get into the idea of, does Trump actually care about this?
00:04:25.100 Yeah, you had the Reagan Foundation saying that this was misquoting President Reagan.
00:04:31.600 I've seen people say that, oh, you're right, they're right, this is misquoting him, or they're wrong that this is misquoting him.
00:04:39.060 I think they're actually probably wrong that this is misquoting Reagan.
00:04:43.440 Reagan was anti-protectionist.
00:04:45.780 My interjection on this front is none of that matters.
00:04:51.820 It has nothing to do with the current trade issue.
00:04:55.260 And guess what?
00:04:55.940 Donald Trump just got an incredibly good excuse to flip the table again and say, hey, I'm not talking to you guys.
00:05:02.760 Because guess what?
00:05:03.700 Every time he does this, and it's happened twice now, actually three times, every time he's done this,
00:05:09.600 Carney and the provincial premiers will say, okay, we'll get rid of the digital services tax.
00:05:13.820 Okay, we'll take away a bunch of the retaliatory tariffs.
00:05:17.240 We'll invest a lot in your economy.
00:05:18.940 We'll increase our defense spending.
00:05:20.400 And by the way, on many of these fronts, we should be doing that.
00:05:22.820 We should be increasing defense spending because our defense spending sucks.
00:05:25.940 It's very low.
00:05:27.780 But the thing is, obviously Trump's going to keep playing this game if you keep giving him concessions.
00:05:34.360 And it's not Trump being a bad guy.
00:05:37.080 I consider this neutral.
00:05:39.340 He's doing something.
00:05:40.220 He's pressing a button that every time he presses it, he gets another concession from Mark Carney and the liberal government.
00:05:45.260 And my goodness, all the elbows-up liberals out there who are fear-mongering that if Pierre Polyev was the prime minister, oh, he would just give away everything to Donald Trump.
00:05:55.120 Well, I don't know if he would or not.
00:05:57.340 I suspect he wouldn't.
00:05:59.520 But right now we have Prime Minister Mark Carney and we are giving everything away.
00:06:04.220 And I'm not framing this as, oh, my goodness, he's conceding to the big evil orange man.
00:06:09.780 You can't concede anything to the orange man because you get liberals out there and you even get some conservatives who, like, I guess what you would say is concern troll.
00:06:20.340 Well, why is Carney giving away the country?
00:06:22.920 Guys, it's actually not wrong to give concessions to the United States in order to get to a better trade deal.
00:06:28.640 The problem is that we're stupid the way we've been doing negotiations.
00:06:32.940 We make concessions for nothing and then we thumb our nose at them, giving Trump a perfect opportunity to flip the table in which we then give more concessions just to get back to the table to repeat the process again.
00:06:43.320 If we were serious, we would have been negotiating five months ago.
00:06:46.400 More than six months ago, Carney should have wrapped this issue up before even calling a federal election.
00:06:51.820 It would have been politically intelligent to do, but he is just so anti-American.
00:06:55.880 I just don't think he's capable of actually negotiating with them properly.
00:06:59.580 We should have entered a negotiation.
00:07:01.660 Sorry to bog the video down in this.
00:07:03.520 We will be getting to the aftermath of what's happened after Trump made that post.
00:07:08.000 But if we were trying to negotiate a real deal that would have benefited us,
00:07:13.220 we should have basically been ready to put concessions on the table, like getting rid of our supply management system or at least severely weakening it.
00:07:20.280 It's not even good for Canadian farmers.
00:07:22.280 It actually is good for a select few Canadian farmers while keeping the rest of them out of the market and increasing costs on consumers.
00:07:28.820 So we should have had some concessions on the table.
00:07:31.380 We should have had our own demands on the table, by the way.
00:07:33.540 We should have had the ability to make threats that if they won't do this, well, then we will do this.
00:07:39.820 We will target a few states and we will basically cut off certain big trade goods from them that they 80 percent trade into Canada.
00:07:46.860 We could do that as a country.
00:07:49.100 And the thing is, know what we should have also been doing?
00:07:51.300 We should have also been rather than the stupid thing that Dominic LeBlanc and Mark Carney have been saying is that,
00:07:56.520 you know, Canada and the U.S. work well together.
00:07:58.400 We've been longtime allies.
00:07:59.900 Why are we fighting?
00:08:00.740 I mean, that's a nothing, a putrid nothing statement.
00:08:04.640 Who cares?
00:08:06.040 Know what you should have been saying is, know what?
00:08:08.400 We will join you in an alliance against China.
00:08:11.880 Know what?
00:08:12.540 Canada and the U.S. should be getting to zero tariffs because if America wants to be able to beat China,
00:08:18.520 they need a strong ally in Canada.
00:08:21.320 We live on effectively, we live in the same continent.
00:08:24.940 We are, we have a line between the two countries, but we're right there.
00:08:28.500 We have the longest border of any country on the planet.
00:08:32.980 Let's, you know, team up and fight back against the CCP.
00:08:37.040 We didn't do that because Carney has been playing footsie with the CCP and is treating them far better than the Americans right now.
00:08:43.840 Like, no doubt Trump thinks that we're complete, we're complete dweebs.
00:08:47.800 At the same time, we are acting apologetic to China.
00:08:51.400 What can we do for you?
00:08:52.520 Can we get you a more comfy chair?
00:08:54.680 They're tariffing our canola like 100%.
00:08:57.480 They are, like, going after us on seafood products and a bunch of other stuff because we tariff them on electric vehicles.
00:09:03.560 And we can discuss whether or not we should do that.
00:09:05.420 Frankly, I'm fine with tariffing an enemy state.
00:09:07.740 But we've been acting, we've been playing way more softball with China than we've been playing with the U.S.
00:09:14.640 And we're not even playing hardball with the U.S.
00:09:16.020 We're just playing stupidly.
00:09:18.140 Again, we enter a conversation, we slap it on the nose, and then we don't concede anything.
00:09:22.820 We don't make any threats.
00:09:23.620 We just kind of sit there saying, how about we just don't have tariffs?
00:09:26.320 And then the Americans are like, are you going to offer anything?
00:09:28.500 We're like, well, no.
00:09:29.620 And then the tariffs keep going on.
00:09:31.520 It's like we put eighth graders into the negotiating room.
00:09:34.480 It's pathetic.
00:09:35.300 But this is what the Reagan Foundation had put out in their own post.
00:09:39.380 They said, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute learned that the government of Ontario, Canada,
00:09:45.200 created an ad using selective audio and video of President Ronald Reagan's delivering his radio address to the nation on free and fair trade dated April 25, 1987.
00:09:55.260 The ad misrepresents President Reagan's radio address, and the government of Ontario did not seek or nor receive permission to use the remark.
00:10:05.300 The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is reviewing its legal options in this matter.
00:10:10.380 We encourage you to watch President Reagan's unedited video on our YouTube channel.
00:10:15.580 Now, even then, I actually don't think they're right on this.
00:10:18.340 Reagan is not arguing in favor of the sort of protectionism that the U.S. has engaged in.
00:10:23.380 And, again, but my thing is that different situations are different.
00:10:29.300 So trying to use Reagan's words for now just don't really make sense.
00:10:33.280 Politics is a moving target.
00:10:35.440 At the end of the day, it doesn't matter.
00:10:37.160 It really doesn't matter.
00:10:38.540 It's all about the maneuvering in the current trade situation, and we are playing a stupid game.
00:10:43.540 Here is Doug Ford talking about this shortly after the post went up.
00:10:47.020 I heard that the president heard our ad.
00:10:50.760 I'm sure he wasn't too happy, but it's real because it was coming from the best president the country has ever seen, Ronald Reagan.
00:10:57.580 So it is.
00:10:59.200 It's very effective.
00:11:01.320 It's probably one of the best ads I've ever seen, and it's coming from Ronald Reagan's voice.
00:11:05.380 And it's going to be focused right across the country, but also in Republican-held areas, because what I feel, the Reagan Republicans are going to be fighting with a MAGA group.
00:11:18.820 And let's hope Reagan Republicans win.
00:11:21.840 Well, at least Doug Ford won't be present for that fight.
00:11:25.560 And, by the way, Reagan Republicans are mostly Trump Republicans.
00:11:28.600 Trump is really not that different from Reagan outside of style.
00:11:32.060 But check this out.
00:11:33.720 So this happened as of an hour ago.
00:11:36.300 I was kind of dragging my feet to make this video, but good thing I did, because, my goodness, Doug Ford talks so tough, and then he walks stuff back so quickly.
00:11:45.500 Here is from an hour ago from Premier Doug Ford.
00:11:49.260 And, my goodness, I have people from the last provincial election this February saying,
00:11:53.900 Wyatt, you can't support the new Blue Party of Ontario.
00:11:57.360 What happens if the liberals get in?
00:11:58.900 What happens if the liberals get in?
00:12:00.960 You tell me.
00:12:01.700 How would it be any different?
00:12:02.720 The Doug Ford conservatives, the PCs, the progressive conservatives, act exactly like the liberals.
00:12:09.480 Would Bonnie Crombie be any different as Premier right now?
00:12:13.140 Like, I guess we'll never know.
00:12:15.000 But, goodness, I can't really tell you a big difference between the federal liberals and the Ontario PC Party.
00:12:20.940 They're subsidy politicians, and that's really it.
00:12:23.680 But Doug Ford here says,
00:12:25.680 Our intention was always to initiate a conversation about the kind of economy that Americans want to build and the impact of tariffs on workers and business.
00:12:33.820 We've achieved our goal, having reached U.S. audiences at the highest levels.
00:12:38.240 I've directed my team to keep putting out messages in front of Americans over the next weekend so that we can air our commercial during the first two World Series games.
00:12:47.180 In speaking with Prime Minister Carney, Ontario will pause its U.S. advertising campaign effective Monday so that trade talks can resume.
00:12:55.180 The people elected our government to protect Ontario, our workers, businesses, families, and communities.
00:13:01.480 That's exactly what I'm doing.
00:13:03.000 Like I said earlier today, Canada and the U.S. are neighbors, friends, and allies.
00:13:06.680 We're so much stronger when we work together.
00:13:09.120 Let's work together to build fortress and can and make our two countries stronger, more prosperous, and more secure.
00:13:15.620 That was an idiot talking right there.
00:13:19.140 I like how he implied that Mark Carney probably got on the phone and told Doug Ford,
00:13:25.520 Please take your ad down, dude.
00:13:27.500 I am trying to negotiate a deal, probably poorly.
00:13:31.140 But he's trying more than Doug Ford, who called Donald Trump a tyrant, that tyrant south of the border five days ago.
00:13:37.540 And then in this one, he's sheepishly talking about how we're friends.
00:13:40.420 Maybe Carney didn't even call him.
00:13:41.940 Maybe Carney just walked into his office with an old-style rotary phone and started pounding Doug Ford's face in with it.
00:13:47.560 Like, Doug, this is me calling you saying, shut up.
00:13:50.540 Do not say anything.
00:13:52.100 Pull the ad.
00:13:52.860 Because if Mark Carney did that, I'd like him a little bit more.
00:13:56.600 And that would be saying something because I don't like him at all.
00:13:59.800 But goodness.
00:14:01.880 I've seen so many people who are, you know, the type of people who in their bios would call themselves a veterans comm staffer
00:14:09.040 who actually think that the thing we should be doing as Canada right now is arguing with the Ronald Reagan Foundation
00:14:15.740 and saying, no, no, no, you're wrong.
00:14:18.080 Ronald Reagan actually was totally against tariffs and he would against them right now.
00:14:21.620 And Ronald Reagan, again, was generally against tariffs.
00:14:24.200 It's a stupid argument, guys.
00:14:26.360 Veterans comm staffer is not a resume point.
00:14:28.980 It's a diagnosis.
00:14:30.080 You are stupid enough to have called yourself a veterans comms person and so nobody should ever listen to you.
00:14:37.200 Many of these people are risk managers who don't actually know how to win a political fight.
00:14:41.000 And you're not going to win a political fight arguing back and forth on semantics with the president of the United States.
00:14:48.220 When you have Elizabeth May on your side, you might have screwed up.
00:14:52.660 So we're asking everybody about Mr. Trump's actions.
00:14:55.340 Go Doug Ford! Go Doug Ford!
00:14:57.340 Sorry.
00:14:59.180 Mr. Trump is, as ever, thin-skinned and unpredictable.
00:15:04.700 Okay, well, there is an opinion from a NyQuil lobbyist, Elizabeth May, who also happens to be the leader of the Green Party.
00:15:12.280 These people, I love this meme from my friend Brian Breguet in Vancouver.
00:15:17.580 However, I love this, him, again, mocking how bad people are at comms.
00:15:24.600 He says, quote,
00:15:25.940 We inform Trump that he's wrong with the picture of Jon Hamm from Mad Men making an advertising pitch.
00:15:31.740 Like, yes, guys, the way that we're going to best Trump in this is how about we go to him and call him stupid and that he doesn't understand Ronald Reagan.
00:15:38.280 Then we'll have a deal.
00:15:39.780 We'll be cooking then.
00:15:41.720 Oh, my goodness.
00:15:42.280 So many of these people are just deeply, deeply stupid.
00:15:44.820 Oh, and of course, now, guys, as Trending Politics is reporting, look right here.
00:15:53.580 New Premier David Eby from British Columbia to launch anti-tariff ads to defend B.C. forestry industry.
00:16:00.960 Yes.
00:16:01.800 Yes, now we're going to win.
00:16:03.080 Yes, the socialists from British Columbia are going to try and shame Americans into voting against the Republicans in the next midterms.
00:16:16.480 No, you're not.
00:16:18.240 The B.C. N.D.P. are so thin-skinned in their own province, they don't even believe the land belongs to British Columbians.
00:16:24.040 And they defeated our bill yesterday from 1 B.C. to try and ban land acknowledgments in public institutions.
00:16:33.020 Oh, it's anti-free speech.
00:16:34.400 No, it's not.
00:16:35.380 As a teacher, you are being paid to teach children.
00:16:38.200 The taxpayer can have the legislature pass regulations to say you can't do a two-minute land acknowledgment every day.
00:16:44.760 Not only is it anti-Canadian, but it's wasting academic time.
00:16:49.060 Oh, it's anti-free speech.
00:16:50.320 No, it's anti-compelled speech.
00:16:52.180 And the fact that you guys don't understand the difference between the two is rather telling.
00:16:57.840 But now we have NDP Premier Wobcanoe from Manitoba here to also make his own version of an ad.
00:17:05.600 My fellow Manitobans, Ontario's TV ads present Ronald Reagan's views on tariffs accurately and powerfully.
00:17:15.520 President Trump's damaging tariffs go...
00:17:18.060 By the way, people like Wobcanoe and David Eby probably think that Ronald Reagan is a far-right racist.
00:17:23.720 So take their opinions of Ronald Reagan with a grain of salt.
00:17:27.120 ...completely against Mr. Reagan's legacy.
00:17:31.360 And it's clear that these ads are working.
00:17:33.920 If you throw a rock at a lake and you don't hear a splash, you've probably missed.
00:17:40.260 So to my good friend Doug Ford, keep the ads on TV.
00:17:44.200 They're effective, and this country is behind you.
00:17:48.040 You know, yeah, that lasted all five minutes, and then Doug Ford put out his own tweet saying that we're going to take them down.
00:17:55.060 Because these people have the political timing of a bowling ball going through a plate-class window.
00:18:00.340 It's upsetting, it's stupid, it didn't accomplish anything.
00:18:03.920 And again, I want to go to Mario Zendaya's post right here, if I can find it.
00:18:08.540 This looks like it could have been just a subsidy to a bunch of Doug Ford's friends in advertising.
00:18:14.540 We have, right here, Mario Zendaya, tweeting a quote tweet of Viva Fry, and he says,
00:18:23.140 Yeah, isn't that great?
00:18:43.600 At least the Doug Ford's friends potentially are getting a lot of money for all this.
00:18:50.080 And the American advertising industry is getting a lot of money too.
00:18:54.020 Now, I just wanted to respond to this.
00:18:57.640 My friend Jared Yeager from the Western Standard, also works at their subsidiary, the West Coast Standard, said this.
00:19:05.500 And I just wanted to use this because I get his point, but it was just a good way for me to say what I think on this whole tariff issue and what Donald Trump is doing.
00:19:14.080 So Jared Yeager says, Look, I'm no fan of Carney, but let's be real for a sec.
00:19:19.080 How can anyone properly negotiate with a president whose trade policies are motivated not by any semblance of reason, but solely by how he feels at any given moment?
00:19:28.500 Now, I know people think that about Trump because, well, look, he says one thing one day and another thing another day.
00:19:34.860 I don't think it's just based on feeling, though.
00:19:36.920 I think that this is all more calculated than you think.
00:19:39.660 I don't think that Donald Trump, like some people will always joke, is playing upside down 4D chess, underwater chess.
00:19:47.380 No, I think that what he's doing is he just looks for weakness and he pushes on that weakness.
00:19:53.900 And that's why I responded to Jared saying this, because I think this is a more clear version of what is currently going on.
00:20:01.020 So I said what people are missing is that Trump doesn't actually care about the Reagan aspect of this controversy.
00:20:06.500 He knows Carney is a weakling, and every time he walks away from the negotiating table, Carney and the liberals offer him concessions just to start talking again.
00:20:14.820 Trump is playing Carney hard.
00:20:16.800 If Carney was smart, he would have engaged in a real negotiation where he first got into office and put a combination of concessions,
00:20:24.560 demands threats and avenues of cooperation on the table to get as low of a tariff percentage as possible.
00:20:29.940 Proposing an alliance against China would have been a very smart move, but Canada was too busy playing footsie with the CCP, despite them also tariffing us.
00:20:38.080 So yeah, I think that's a generally succinct view of what is going on right now.
00:20:43.340 Like, I know my friend J.J. McCullough is not a fan of Trump, but I find that he is a very realistic person when it comes to what is going on here.
00:20:52.340 I just wanted to grab up some of his tweets that he's been putting out today.
00:20:56.360 I didn't save any of them in my bookmarks, but he's been putting out a lot on this stuff.
00:21:00.380 And I thought this was a good way of putting it when it comes to why everything's been performed so badly,
00:21:07.020 everything's been done so badly on the tariffs from the Carney side of things.
00:21:10.960 J.J. McCullough says,
00:21:12.160 Because without putting too fine a point on it, I think at some core level, Carney is basically a globalist snob who doesn't really like the U.S.
00:21:19.520 and is excited by the thought of being the prime minister who steers Canada away from America and into the orbit of the EU and the UK.
00:21:28.320 And part of it is also just that there's a lot of political incentives to be obstinate right now if you're from Canada,
00:21:35.960 because there is a lot of anti-American Canadian voters.
00:21:39.980 Now, I don't think there's actually enough to win the next election in the same manner Carney won this last one.
00:21:45.440 But it is still a powerful force in liberal circles.
00:21:49.340 J.J. in another tweet thread said,
00:21:51.120 The fact is, other countries have dealt with Trump better than Canada.
00:21:55.040 Some of this is because their pain from tariffs has been less acute, which has made them less frantic,
00:22:00.480 but a lot of it is because Canadian culture is uniquely disordered when it comes to U.S.-related things.
00:22:05.780 Hating Trump is good domestic politics in Canada because of how interconnected our political cultures are.
00:22:13.240 Canadian politicians want to act like blue state Democrats and reap the rewards.
00:22:17.840 Canadian anti-Americanism also means there's not a lot, there's not allowed constituency for good U.S. relations.
00:22:24.040 To me, one of the most telling episodes is Carney disinviting Kevin Roberts to speak to his cabinet
00:22:30.040 when the choice was between deepening his government's understanding of the Trump administration
00:22:34.340 and appeasing domestic progressives.
00:22:36.780 Carney erred on the side of the latter.
00:22:39.380 And yes, this is why we are in the situation that we are currently in.
00:22:43.180 Canada sees talking with America as inherently politically sinful.
00:22:47.580 And so we don't act rationally because we are too busy playing to the downtown progressives in Toronto and Montreal
00:22:56.420 and all those people who think that talking to Donald Trump and not serving the climate industry
00:23:03.600 are like the two biggest issues in Canadian politics.
00:23:08.320 Opposing oil and gas and that tyrant, Daniel Smith, and opposing that tyrant down south, Donald Trump.
00:23:15.340 Of course you're going to cut the worst political outcomes in your life
00:23:19.460 when you don't actually value things that actually matter.
00:23:23.620 And yes, it is objectively those two things do not matter when you're trying to build a proper economy.
00:23:28.260 Hating Donald Trump does not actually pay dividends in any way, guys.
00:23:32.120 It's stupidity.
00:23:34.160 But anyways, that should be it for this video, guys.
00:23:37.380 Hopefully you liked it.
00:23:38.560 Hopefully you don't mind the episodes being a bit long.
00:23:41.100 Every once in a while, I get their point.
00:23:43.020 Some people think, like, you could do this in seven, eight minutes.
00:23:46.480 I find, though, and I was just watching some clips from the mainstream media today
00:23:50.360 about stuff happening at the BC legislature, which I will be covering probably either later today or tomorrow.
00:23:56.080 When you only do news in two and a half minutes and you just say the cheapest version of the cliff notes,
00:24:02.980 you miss something.
00:24:03.780 I think that talking about it and mulling over it and kind of turning over the subject in your hand a little bit adds a lot of value
00:24:10.720 because the media, with all their subsidies and with their big budget and all the polish they have,
00:24:17.140 you don't really get the full story.
00:24:20.220 They don't have enough time to deliver you the story, even if they were doing it in good faith.
00:24:23.640 And even some of the coverage I found of yesterday's bill from 1BC to ban land acknowledgments in public institutions,
00:24:31.380 you know, on the taxpayer dime, the media coverage was actually not that bad.
00:24:35.620 But there were still so many gaps, frankly, because they didn't have the time to cover it,
00:24:39.460 because for some reason they just have the news cycle running at a breakneck pace for no reason,
00:24:44.760 even though I find they repeat the dumbest stories over and over again that you did not need to hear about at all.
00:24:50.700 Anyways, though, that should be it for me today, guys.
00:24:55.120 Remember to like, share, subscribe, do all that stuff.
00:24:57.820 And if you're already subscribed, hit the notification bell right next to the subscribe button.
00:25:02.220 You'll just get a notification that pops up that lets you know when there is a video from a creator
00:25:07.600 that you're not only subscribed to, but you really want to know when a new video is out from.
00:25:13.320 You know, not desperately, I guess, but, you know, my channel, the videos are not evergreen.
00:25:18.760 You're not really going to go back to watch a video I made two months ago,
00:25:21.840 just as you're not going to go watch the news from two months ago.
00:25:24.820 So having the notification bell hit is good, because you're not going to not notice that I made a video two days ago,
00:25:30.320 and you're like, oh, dang, the news cycle's moved on.
00:25:32.340 This is going to feel stale.
00:25:33.760 It allows you to watch it right when it's fresh.
00:25:36.240 You know, hey, my videos are like baking.
00:25:39.700 Eat it within 24 hours after that, the day olds.
00:25:43.540 Anyways, but with that being said, thank you guys for watching, and I'll see you guys all later.
