00:00:00.000 Hey guys, real quick, before we get started, I have a small request.
00:00:03.380 If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show,
00:00:06.440 would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five-star review?
00:00:09.760 This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do
00:00:12.880 to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible. Thanks.
00:00:18.020 But I don't consider this a sermon, and the reason I'm saying that is because
00:00:21.560 you're going to detect a lot of opinion here,
00:00:24.420 and it may be opinion you disagree with strongly,
00:00:27.680 but I'm trying to apply the words of scripture so I'm doing my best here I just want to make
00:00:33.560 sure there's a distinction I don't want to bind consciences where it's not appropriate right and
00:00:38.540 I recognize that some some of the things I might say potentially will I don't want to say trigger
00:00:43.340 you because that's kind of an insult but like you might disapprove instantly but I don't intend to
00:00:53.800 issue commands. I just, what I want to do today is I want to encourage people to think through
00:00:58.340 something, and we'll talk about this in a minute, but just from a slightly different perspective
00:01:03.800 than you might be used to. But that being said, I am going to read the words of God.
00:01:09.400 We're going to start with scripture. This comes from Romans 12,
00:01:13.660 and as you know, Romans 12, it comes right before Romans 13.
00:01:23.800 Which means the direct context is talking about how Christians relate to government, right?
00:01:29.260 And so let me read the words of God.
00:01:34.280 Let love be genuine.
00:01:36.540 Abhor what is evil.
00:01:37.980 Hold fast to what is good.
00:01:40.340 Love one another with brotherly affection.
00:01:42.620 Outdo one another in showing honor.
00:01:45.480 Do not be slothful in zeal.
00:01:47.480 Be fervent in spirit.
00:01:49.320 Serve the Lord.
00:01:51.080 Rejoice in hope.
00:01:52.080 Be patient in tribulation.
00:01:54.360 Be constant in prayer.
00:01:56.620 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
00:02:01.940 Bless those who persecute you.
00:02:04.580 Bless and do not curse them.
00:02:07.500 Rejoice with those who rejoice.
00:02:09.700 Weep with those who weep.
00:02:11.340 Live in harmony with one another.
00:02:13.420 Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.
00:02:15.760 Never be wise in your own sight.
00:02:17.980 repay no one evil for evil but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all
00:02:25.140 if possible so far as it depends on you live peaceably with all beloved never avenge yourself
00:02:33.380 but leave it to the wrath of God for it is written vengeance is mine I will repay says the Lord
00:02:38.880 to the contrary if your enemy is hungry feed him if he is thirsty give him something to drink
00:02:44.940 For by doing so, you will heap burning coals on his head.
00:02:48.380 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
00:02:56.940 So, again, I know you might find this hard to believe,
00:03:00.180 but over the years, some people have called my opinions controversial at times.
00:03:06.360 I've had a hard time accepting this, but I intend to earn the reputation today.
00:03:14.940 So we live in perilous times. I don't think that anyone in this audience would question that.
00:03:19.920 We came to a conference about defying tyrants, and so the reason you did that is because it's
00:03:26.080 apparent that tyrants are on the move, and they've been moving at lightning speed over the past
00:03:32.480 couple of years. I can't count how many times I've said to people, my brother, my wife,
00:03:40.100 if you would have told me two years ago that this would have happened, just fill in the blank with
00:03:44.680 a hundred different things. I would have told you you were crazy. And then the thing happens. 0.99
00:03:51.760 But these things have not happened without some measure of defiance. In fact, there have been
00:03:57.120 numerous protests and pushbacks to the power grabs that we have seen. And the most recent one
00:04:03.680 was the trucker convoy. Well, the most recent one I want to talk about is the trucker convoy in
00:04:09.920 Ottawa. Now, this event was widely promoted amongst conservative circles. The mainstream
00:04:15.800 media promoted it. I'm a member of gab.com, which I really enjoy. It was everywhere on gab.com. Memes
00:04:22.460 over the wall, all over the place. Even the brothers at CrossPolitik and Fight Laugh Feast
00:04:28.220 Network, which I'm a podcaster on, they were supportive of the trucker convoy. And I've seen
00:04:34.060 tons of memes where it's all about the patriotism and the bravery of the truckers who had joined
00:04:40.360 the convoy. And they were brave, so I'm not going to disagree with that. But if you watch my content,
00:04:47.360 then you know that I've been kind of lukewarm about the trucker convoy. And I recognize this
00:04:54.220 puts me at odds with most people, the people that I respect most in the world. But I cannot help but
00:04:59.820 feel uneasy about the whole thing. And it's not about the goals, right? Like, I supported the
00:05:05.540 goal. I wanted it to succeed. In fact, I would tell people, man, I hope I'm wrong about this
00:05:09.840 convoy. I hope, you know, I hope it works. But to be honest, I just didn't understand the tactics.
00:05:15.800 I didn't get it. And I didn't get why so many people were supporting it, and I didn't understand
00:05:20.620 how it was supposed to accomplish the goals that they said they wanted to accomplish.
00:05:25.020 now I'm going to be honest because you know that's what I want to do here and hopefully all
00:05:30.740 the time but I actually I'm not really that lukewarm about it like I think that the trucker
00:05:35.440 convo idea was extremely questionable now I hesitate to say some of the things I'm about
00:05:41.760 to say because I don't want to throw cold water over pushback right we need all the help we can
00:05:46.640 get right now but I think and again let me make this clear I am opposed to vaccine mandates I'm
00:05:53.640 opposed to mask mandates. Any kind of idea from the COVID tyranny, I am opposed to it, you know,
00:05:59.840 100%. So I want it to stop. I want freedom to rule the day. I just don't think that this idea was
00:06:08.860 a good idea. And I think we ought to think these things through and be smarter than this in the
00:06:15.620 future. Let's just think, what I was hoping to do was to show you a video of some of the things I
00:06:20.660 want to talk about today, because there was tons of videos, and I found these videos on all kinds
00:06:26.060 of platforms, TikTok, YouTube, you know, all of the cool kids, what are they using now? I think
00:06:31.760 it's TikTok, right? I don't know. I'm like almost boomer, so I don't get that stuff.
00:06:42.520 So anyway, I want to think through the trucker thing in objective terms, like what were they
00:06:47.380 actually doing, right? I'm not asking what it was supposed to mean or what they were trying to
00:06:52.780 accomplish. Like, I'm all good with that. What I'm asking is what was actually objectively going on
00:06:58.680 in Ottawa. Now, before I get to this next section, let me sidestep some criticism because I've
00:07:04.480 actually talked about this before. And what I get is, you know, AD, your big problem is you listen
00:07:09.720 to too much mainstream media. It's a mainstream media. They were putting a negative spin on the
00:07:15.200 protests, and it wasn't really like that. Now, let me just sidestep that. I didn't watch any
00:07:21.200 mainstream media about this. I didn't watch any. I didn't read anything about it. I don't have time
00:07:27.240 to read. I read. I didn't watch any videos. I don't watch any news reports. What I saw was all
00:07:35.700 from pro-trucker sources, and it was not mainstream sources. It was like independent
00:07:41.240 journalists, people that just went to Ottawa and walked around with a video camera. So that's what
00:07:46.620 I saw. And so what that means is that there would be no reason for these people to negatively spin
00:07:53.400 this. They were supporting this. And what I want to do as I go through what was happening in Ottawa,
00:07:59.320 I want you to consider what I just read from Romans 12. And I'm going to make you do it because
00:08:04.860 I'm going to read it. All right, so think this through and then think, is this how a Christian
00:08:13.780 ought to behave in the face of a tyrannical government? Let love be genuine, abhor what is
00:08:21.140 evil, hold fast to what is good, outdo one another in showing honor. One thing I saw a lot of in the
00:08:29.040 videos were a lot of vulgarities. I saw many profanities uttered by the crowds. And I'm not
00:08:35.180 just talking about the obvious false flag stuff that the government attempted to do, like the
00:08:40.340 Nazi flag. That was a Fed. We all understand what was happening there. That was a Fed trying to make
00:08:45.660 the crowd look racist. That's not what I'm talking about. What I am talking about, though, are the
00:08:51.760 stuff that was clearly real, like F. Trudeau stuff, right? Let's go Brandon, that kind of
00:08:58.840 stuff. That stuff was real, and let's just be honest, reviling against a government, even if
00:09:05.780 it's a horrible government, I don't think that's what Romans 12 had in mind. Because here's what
00:09:12.680 God's word says, bless those who persecute you. Bless and do not curse them. Now, again, I've heard
00:09:21.120 the objections. You know, Ada, you're overgeneralizing. The whole protest wasn't like that. 1.00
00:09:25.860 That was just part of it. The protest was mostly peaceful, which is a weird turn of phrase for a
00:09:32.680 conservative. But it's true, though. I have to give that objection some credence. It wasn't all like
00:09:39.620 that, right? There were some normal protests going on. There was some preaching going on,
00:09:43.620 and I'm not going to stand against preaching, obviously. But even in the best case scenario,
00:09:50.180 let's think through the tactics as well. Like, I'm trying to be objective. I'm not trying to
00:09:54.540 think about what it means, but what is actually happening, right? So the trucks, they go to the
00:10:00.240 center of Ottawa, or wherever they were, and they decide, you know, we're going to sit in this
00:10:04.620 part of the city, we're just going to sit there, and we're going to honk our horns.
00:10:08.780 Brr, brr. I did that for him over there.
00:10:16.820 And at first, this is what I heard. Again, I was corrected about this, because I said at first they
00:10:21.160 were honking all through the night, right? And I was corrected. And so I'll give you the correction.
00:10:25.580 They started honking all through the night. And then there was a ordinance that a, that I guess
00:10:32.340 a judge said, you know, a court order, you can't honk at night. And, you know, they were considerate.
00:10:37.100 They said, okay, we'll only honk all day. Thank you. But I just, I just kept thinking about this.
00:10:45.120 Like I'm, I'm the target audience of this protest. Like I'm for, I'm against all the same things
00:10:50.540 they're against, I just kept thinking, like, what if it was my town that they were doing this in?
00:10:54.320 Like, I've got kids, and they've got to take their naps. Like, this is, I'm the target audience,
00:10:59.620 and I would be upset that they were there. So again, how do we square this with believers,
00:11:06.480 right? Here's what the scripture says. They're honking. Live in harmony with one another,
00:11:13.600 the scripture says. Do not be haughty. And again, keep in mind, guys, this is from the section that's
00:11:20.380 telling you how to deal with tyrannical governments. Do not be haughty, associate with
00:11:26.180 the lowly, never be wise in your own sight, repay no one evil for evil, but give thought
00:11:31.340 to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you,
00:11:38.400 live peaceably with all. Don't only think about the tactics though, but think about the optics too,
00:11:46.140 like, there was some strange stuff going on in Ottawa. I'll never forget the first video I saw
00:11:51.600 from Ottawa. This was one of the early nights. And there was this guy just walking around. He
00:11:57.080 must have had a GoPro and he was live. And I messaged Joel because I wanted you to see this
00:12:02.520 video. This was a TikTok video. And it was ridiculous. It was like, it's a dance party.
00:12:08.440 And so there was coolers full of Molson's Canadian or whatever they drink up there.
00:12:11.900 and they're dancing it's like and it's not like it's like baby got back like there's no message
00:12:17.960 to the song and push it you know like push it real good like that's what they were dancing to
00:12:23.140 it was weird and and these guys had no rhythm
00:12:26.560 and I saw people hitting like empty diesel cans like this and it's just it was weird I used to go
00:12:35.260 to parties like that and they were lame back then and they're lame now I heard one comedian
00:12:41.880 and describe it as a gay rave. 0.66
00:12:43.680 And I didn't say it. 0.63
00:12:45.560 He's a comedian.
00:12:46.320 He can say stuff like that.
00:12:49.400 And guys, just to be clear,
00:12:50.740 I'm a Presbyterian.
00:12:51.760 I'm not against dancing or drinking.
00:12:58.160 But again, I just have to ask,
00:13:00.120 is this the form that our protests should take?
00:13:04.080 Like, what is that supposed to accomplish
00:13:05.720 besides taking people off?
00:13:08.520 And again, contrast that with the words of God.
00:13:11.600 Beloved, never avenge yourself.
00:13:13.880 Vengeance is mine.
00:13:14.780 I will repay, says the Lord.
00:13:16.500 If your enemy is hungry, feed him.
00:13:18.600 If he's thirsty, give him something to drink.
00:13:20.560 For by doing so, you will heap burning coals on his head.
00:13:25.040 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
00:13:29.540 Even the strategy, I just didn't make sense to me.
00:13:33.680 And again, I could be wrong.
00:13:34.720 A lot of this is my opinion.
00:13:35.680 But initially, the strategy was debatable.
00:13:39.840 But some of the guys I heard early was the idea was to disrupt the supply chains.
00:13:44.040 They take trucks off the street.
00:13:45.320 They block certain places.
00:13:47.420 And then they would force the government's hand so they had to cave.
00:13:50.800 Because if they didn't cave, people would start to wonder, you know, why don't I have food?
00:13:54.680 Why don't I have the stuff that I need, right?
00:13:56.720 And, again, the strategy was debatable.
00:13:58.720 But that was an early, you know, thing I had read.
00:14:02.460 But I just don't understand that.
00:14:04.560 Because even if it did work, right, which some people think it did.
00:14:08.200 But even if it did, you're kind of forcing the wrong people to suffer, right?
00:14:12.960 Like, it's everyday folks that need the goods.
00:14:15.520 They need the food.
00:14:16.360 They need the stuff. 0.90
00:14:17.580 The tyrants are going to have access to their military stuff.
00:14:20.220 Like, they're not going to suffer, right?
00:14:22.020 But the idea is the tyrants don't want the people to suffer, so they'll, you know, you can twist their arms and things like that.
00:14:29.360 But I just don't see the strategy being Christian.
00:14:32.340 because God's strategy here,
00:14:36.520 don't avenge yourself.
00:14:38.880 To the contrary,
00:14:40.940 if your enemy's hungry, feed him.
00:14:43.900 He talks about heaping burning coals.
00:14:45.620 How does disrupting the supply chain
00:14:47.560 heap burning coals on the heads of our enemies?
00:14:51.340 And I want to say this with respect
00:14:53.500 because I know that many of you
00:14:55.540 likely did support the trucker thing
00:14:57.160 and still do probably,
00:14:58.540 and that's okay.
00:14:59.400 But what I want to do
00:15:01.240 is make sure that we think through the way that we fight tyranny. Because if we get it wrong,
00:15:07.280 something like this could easily backfire. I think the people that, imagine if it lasted a long time,
00:15:14.720 right? Because it lasted a decent amount of time. But imagine if it lasted to the point where the
00:15:18.180 supply chain really was disrupted, right? Like, who are the people going to be mad at? I mean,
00:15:23.640 ideally, they'd be mad at the tyrants, right? But the tyrants own the media and the narrative.
00:15:28.660 and so when they control the media and they control the story who do you think the people
00:15:34.000 that watch that media are going to be mad at and the other thing is most people aren't self-reliant
00:15:40.580 they're they're they're they're totally reliant on these supply chains so people are going to
00:15:44.840 suffer and you know what honestly when people are wondering where the next meal is going to come
00:15:48.700 from they're going to support whoever gets the stuff flowing again so I think that the strategy
00:15:54.000 was doomed from the start, like you can't defeat tyranny by providing the tyrant with a case study
00:15:59.520 on why they need more power to provide a consistent supply of goods. I think the trucker convoy could 0.87
00:16:07.020 have handed the tyrant a gift-wrapped winning narrative, and it did it with obnoxious honking 0.92
00:16:14.120 and dance parties that eventually that was going to look really tone-deaf in the middle of a
00:16:21.340 major city, too. And also, while some of the people in the convoy are calling for Trudeau
00:16:27.120 to be imprisoned, they're calling for his head, like, I'm not saying the truckers deserve what
00:16:32.900 happened to them, but what I'm saying is, what do they expect to happen to them? You think Trudeau
00:16:37.820 was just going to sit back and let it happen? It reminded me so much of the fake insurrection
00:16:42.780 on the 6th, right? This one seemed more avoidable than that one, though, because that one people
00:16:48.200 were just got swept up in the moment, right? I think the trucker convoy could have gone way worse
00:16:54.080 than it did, and I'm glad it didn't. There were people that were beaten by the cops though, so
00:16:59.020 don't hear me downplaying that. That one lady was trampled by the horse. Tons of people, even if you 1.00
00:17:05.960 just donated to the convoy, you got your assets frozen, and you didn't know if it was going to
00:17:11.400 ever get unfrozen. They eventually did, but I've heard that the people that had their assets frozen
00:17:17.760 for donating money on a GoFundMe.
00:17:20.380 They've got like a permanent mark
00:17:21.900 on their bank accounts now.
00:17:23.160 Like it's probably like a mark like, 0.58
00:17:24.880 hey, this guy's probably a terrorist.
00:17:28.080 I don't think that they're marking these accounts
00:17:30.340 for no reason.
00:17:31.220 Like there's probably gonna be credit things associated.
00:17:33.100 Like this is a big deal.
00:17:34.620 These guys are super tyrants.
00:17:37.280 But to be honest,
00:17:38.240 like I think that it could have gone way worse than it did.
00:17:41.180 Like Trudeau could have gone more tyrannical than he did.
00:17:43.920 and so again I just tactically the trucker convoy I'm supportive of the mission right
00:17:52.120 tactically I think it's extremely questionable I think of the words of God from Peter
00:17:58.480 where it says what credit is it when you sin you're beaten for it you endure like some of
00:18:06.260 the stuff that they were doing was sinful in my opinion and so they got beaten for it it's like
00:18:11.100 go, that's not doing you any good. Again, the word of the Lord, do not repay evil for evil,
00:18:17.720 reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless. For to this you were called that you
00:18:22.980 may obtain a blessing. Now, you might disagree with me about everything I just said, and that's
00:18:28.840 okay. I'm totally okay with that. We can still be friends. I hope. But I really just want to
00:18:36.820 encourage you to think through the trucker protest and really run it through Romans 12.
00:18:42.520 Does God talk about dealing with governments in the ways that they dealt with governments, right?
00:18:49.560 Honking your horn, being a nuisance, throwing a rave, trying to twist the government's arm into granting your requests.
00:18:57.460 These are very perilous times.
00:18:59.100 And so I think in perilous times, you need to think through your moves a little bit more carefully than you do when everything's just fine, right?
00:19:06.820 And so what I want to encourage you is to all think on that today.
00:19:09.640 My thesis is very simple.
00:19:13.620 Do not be distracted by the flashy kinds of media attention-grabbing protests,
00:19:20.420 the kinds that are romanticized in movies and in memes.
00:19:25.540 Don't be fooled by the approved defiance spectacles that get a lot of attention.
00:19:33.020 I put the trucker thing in that category.
00:19:34.900 I put January 6th in that category. I put Black Lives Matter in that category, although for very
00:19:39.780 different reasons. Occupy Wall Street, like these are the things that get a whole lot of attention
00:19:44.560 from the media. Don't be distracted by those. On the contrary, I submit that you should focus
00:19:53.540 most of your attention and your energy and your money on everyday defiance, obedient defiance.
00:20:01.860 obeying God in everyday ways will automatically put you against tyrants it'll automatically have
00:20:10.360 you define tyranny even without even trying very hard and it will do so in a much longer lasting
00:20:17.560 multi-generational way that it's going to be more like leaven going through the whole lump of dough
00:20:23.260 what I'm not saying is don't attend rallies like if you if you like that kind of stuff and you
00:20:29.320 think it's effective, I'm not telling you it isn't, and I'm not telling you not to go.
00:20:34.500 If the trucker dance party sounds appealing, then knock yourself out. Same thing with January 6th.
00:20:41.560 You know, a lot of people that I know went to that thing. You know, if you want to go,
00:20:46.100 that's fine. Black Lives Matter, don't go to that, unless you're going to preach there.
00:20:54.420 But I can't make a rule where God has not made a rule. God has not said, don't attend a protest,
00:20:58.360 right? What I do want you to do is to be careful when you're at these things, because it's so easy
00:21:05.940 to get swept up in the moment, and things then they turn to debauchery or revolution. And like,
00:21:12.420 look, I recognize that the dance party, you know, whatever, that was only one aspect of the protest,
00:21:16.800 you know. And the January 6th thing, right? Like, not everybody went into the Capitol,
00:21:21.560 but I don't think that hardly anybody that went into the Capitol went to D.C. planning to go to
00:21:26.740 the Capitol. They got swept up in the moment and they had, let's just face it, like there were some
00:21:31.960 feds out there encouraging it. I think that the feds are all over this kind of stuff, trying to
00:21:38.840 create an event. And so it's easy to get swept up in the moment. So if you do go, just be careful
00:21:44.560 that you don't cross the line. Just to reinforce that this is not a sermon, this is not a Bible
00:21:51.860 up here. This is a book by R.G. Rushduni. It's a great book. It's about the law of God. It's
00:21:57.720 called The Institutes of Biblical Law. And I reference this whenever I don't understand the
00:22:03.560 law, right? It's very good. Not everything he says is true, but it's a good book. And there's
00:22:08.580 a section here where he's talking about how self-defense, even violent self-defense, is
00:22:13.620 legitimate for a Christian. He's saying that's okay. And I want you to hear what he instantly
00:22:19.520 says right after this, because he talks to this issue so well. He says, in an evil world, God
00:22:27.200 requires men, God requires men to stand in terms of his word and law. At this point, many will cite
00:22:36.760 Matthew 5, 39, resist not evil. The point made by Christ in this passage has reference to a
00:22:43.740 resistance to an alien power which governs the land and that can compel a man by force draft
00:22:49.480 to serve, you know, the Roman imperial forces for a mile, you know, go with them a mile or more.
00:22:55.700 He says, in such a case, resistance is futile and wrong.
00:23:00.040 Cooperation, going the second mile, is more productive of good.
00:23:06.460 Christ's words were thus a warning against revolutionary resistance.
00:23:12.080 His warning was repeated by St. Paul in Romans 13 with the warning that resistance to the
00:23:17.060 duly constituted authority is resistance to the ordinance of God. At the same time, we must note
00:23:23.540 that Peter and other apostles, when they were forbidden to preach, they said we ought to obey
00:23:29.340 God rather than men. There is no discrepancy between these positions. Respect for duly
00:23:35.040 constituted authorities is required both as a religious duty and as a practical policy. The
00:23:40.580 world, listen to this part, the world is not bettered by disobedience and anarchy. Evil men
00:23:48.580 cannot produce a good society. The key to our social renewal is individual regeneration.
00:23:57.280 So I think what Rushduni has in mind here are the kinds of events like January 6th, right?
00:24:03.500 That's not appropriate for a Christian to go into the Capitol and try to do whatever they were doing,
00:24:08.260 whatever they were trying to do. Who even knows? Self-defense is good, but ordinary defiance,
00:24:15.260 the kind where they say you can't preach, but you preach anyway because God said so,
00:24:19.160 that's the kind that a Christian ought to be engaged in. It'll be longer lasting,
00:24:23.640 and it'll be like leaven going through the whole lump of dough.
00:24:29.200 So here's what I'm telling you, and I believe this with all my heart, that the flashy kind
00:24:34.720 of protest, like the quick flash in the pan, the ones that the media likes, I don't think that's
00:24:40.980 where lasting change comes from, especially when it's the kind of protest that tends towards
00:24:46.760 inappropriate, ungodly revolution. I think that lasting change is change that is desirable for a
00:24:53.760 godly order. Where that comes from is everyday obedience. And I think this is clearly taught in
00:24:59.400 scripture when you think about it. Like, the story of Jonah, you know, Jonah goes to Nineveh, he says,
00:25:05.300 you know, God's going to destroy, you know, your city, and then they, you know, they repent, and
00:25:10.600 they sackcloth and ashes, and then God doesn't do it, right? He doesn't destroy Nineveh. Unbelievable,
00:25:15.340 they repented somehow, and God stops the disaster. But did it last? No, it didn't last. Eventually,
00:25:25.660 the great city of Nineveh went back to its old ways, and they were destroyed. The repentance
00:25:31.540 didn't last, even though the text says that their grief over their sin, it was real.
00:25:37.720 It was temporary, the change that was made. And this wasn't even like the Ottawa thing, right?
00:25:45.420 Because the Ottawa thing, they were playing hip-hop music, honking their horns like madmen,
00:25:49.980 being a nuisance. The people in Nineveh actually repented. They were actually grieving in sack
00:25:55.360 sackcloth and ashes. They were fasting in repentance, and it still didn't last.
00:26:02.280 And I think the reason why it didn't last is because God was not in it. They weren't thinking
00:26:07.340 about God when they repented. They were thinking about their own skins. Psalm 127 says,
00:26:12.880 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over
00:26:20.900 the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go to rest
00:26:26.200 late. If God is not with you, then the effort that you make won't amount to much. So again,
00:26:35.800 I ask you, the threats to Trudeau, the honking, the dancing, the vulgarity, all of that stuff,
00:26:41.040 was God building that house? I want to fight tyranny just like everybody does, and I want to
00:26:49.740 do it, though, according to God's ordinances, obedience to God, because I do believe that
00:26:55.920 obedience to God requires defying tyrants. And so here's the thing. Sometimes people get caught
00:27:04.400 up in this false dichotomy, right? Because now I've come against the trucker convoy, like,
00:27:09.080 why do you hate truckers, AD? So what are you saying? We should do nothing? And I think that
00:27:14.760 I've been called a disinformation agent at this point.
00:27:18.320 I've been called controlled opposition.
00:27:22.100 And the evidence for this is that I want people to do nothing
00:27:26.820 because I'm opposing the trucker convoy.
00:27:31.200 And I think this kind of false choice thinking, it's everywhere.
00:27:34.980 I'm guilty of it, just like everybody's guilty of it at times.
00:27:38.660 And it traps people, right?
00:27:40.020 Because it's like, okay, so I'm not supporting the trucker convoy,
00:27:43.480 So you're doing nothing.
00:27:45.100 And the thing is like, well, I want to do something.
00:27:46.960 So I guess I'll support the trucker convoy.
00:27:49.560 And what it does is it distracts you from the things that, you know, you really should be focusing on.
00:27:54.300 So what I want to do is I want to suggest three basic strategies that we can all do that will yield results, in my opinion.
00:28:01.040 And I think that these are way better options than the protests, the media protests.
00:28:06.900 And then, you know, my point is that
00:28:08.820 even if you still want to go to a protest, right,
00:28:11.040 at least consider doing these things also.
00:28:14.280 So the first one, ordinary defiance.
00:28:18.120 Ordinary defiance.
00:28:20.180 Every day, ordinary defiance, in my opinion,
00:28:23.500 is far preferable to the flashy kind of defiance.
00:28:26.600 And it takes just as much bravery.
00:28:28.680 And it's far more likely to stick.
00:28:30.480 ordinary disobedience is far more preferable the showy disobedience and it's just as patriotic and
00:28:39.900 it's just as it's more impactful rather in the long term and I'm talking about basic stuff right
00:28:44.840 I'll give you a small example do you remember when President Biden got elected and like the
00:28:50.260 next week he came out with his like 20 point plan of how to defeat COVID and everybody knew he was
00:28:55.540 going to come out with this federal mask mandate. And, you know, conservative media was all over it.
00:29:02.740 They were freaking out. People were like, I can't believe the tyranny and all of this kind of stuff.
00:29:07.600 And I remember laughing about it. I was like, what's he going to do, arrest me walking down
00:29:10.800 the street? Like, come on. You're not wearing a mask, sir. Go to the federal prison. Like,
00:29:16.320 I knew I wasn't going to comply with it. And then, like, it came out, then the actual mandate came
00:29:22.380 out. And then I laughed a lot. Like I'm talking IRL LOLing. Because the federal mask mandate,
00:29:31.560 the big bad, you know, tyranny was just for federal buildings or, you know, also federal
00:29:37.680 employees. I feel bad for federal employees, but like, it was just federal building. I was like,
00:29:43.120 it reminded me like, we think these guys are like uber powerful, but like, he's like,
00:29:48.080 here's my big bad mandate. If you come to my house, you have to wear a mask.
00:29:52.380 I'm like, all right, I'm just as powerful.
00:29:55.980 But I knew I wasn't going to comply with that either.
00:29:59.020 I went to the post office the next day.
00:30:02.260 And I knew I wasn't going to wear a mask, right?
00:30:04.160 And I didn't.
00:30:04.920 And something happened.
00:30:06.620 The workers there were nicer to me than they've ever been.
00:30:10.220 And in fact, there was this one worker. 0.87
00:30:11.680 He's this very flamboyant gay guy.
00:30:14.000 And he asked me, like, what my book was about. 0.86
00:30:16.180 Because, you know, I always ship books from the post office.
00:30:18.840 And we had a nice little chat.
00:30:19.760 and that's it that's the end of the story nothing happened the feds weren't called you know i was
00:30:29.080 telling one person one time i went to walmart and uh the woman the woman says hey would you like a
00:30:33.880 master i was like no thank you or no she said she said uh do you have a master i was like no not
00:30:38.940 today and i just kept walking and uh i heard her get on the uh the radio we got another one
00:30:44.180 Nothing happened.
00:30:47.340 That's the end of the story.
00:30:51.740 But I think, and this is just everyday stuff, right?
00:30:53.580 I'm not saying I'm, I was risking nothing.
00:30:55.360 Like, I knew I wasn't going to be fined.
00:30:57.280 I mean, that's the worst thing you could do, fine me.
00:30:59.300 I don't know, you know, I'll pay the fine, that'll be it.
00:31:02.440 But I think this has more of an impact than we think, right?
00:31:04.860 I was risking barely anything.
00:31:07.200 But I don't know about you, but like, I always hear about people, you know,
00:31:10.080 lamenting how we've lost the sense of community and stuff
00:31:13.240 because of social media and video games and dancing.
00:31:18.760 I don't know why I said that.
00:31:20.000 That's weird.
00:31:22.640 But I got to be honest, like,
00:31:24.240 I've built a lot of community in the past two years
00:31:26.660 with non-mask wearing people.
00:31:28.860 I've struck up so many conversations
00:31:30.740 with other non-mask, sometimes just a nod,
00:31:32.720 like, yeah, we get it.
00:31:34.520 We get it.
00:31:35.520 It's like instant rapport, right?
00:31:37.320 We have nothing in common,
00:31:38.660 but like, I can see your face, so that's good.
00:31:43.240 But I think it has an impact. Have you ever had the experience where you walk into a store without a mask and someone wearing a mask pulls it down and they see you? It happens all the time. I'm telling you, this has an impact on people. This is everyday stuff.
00:31:57.700 but i don't want to trivialize this too because i wear i risk nothing by wearing a mask not wearing
00:32:03.500 a mask in public but you know some people had to potentially get fired from their jobs
00:32:10.140 right what happens if you are a federal employee and biden has his you know he has his authority
00:32:15.740 there then you got a choice to make right and i submit to you that if you want to fight tyranny
00:32:22.840 One way to do it is just to say no, let them fire you, and figure out your life.
00:32:28.200 Go about your business.
00:32:29.160 There's always a choice.
00:32:31.920 This is preferable because it's genuine, right?
00:32:35.140 It's not like I'm opposing your mask mandate.
00:32:37.780 I'm secretly wearing it at work, but I'll come to the dance party.
00:32:44.240 Everyday defiance is genuine.
00:32:45.840 It's not contrived.
00:32:48.060 Let love be genuine is what the scripture I read says.
00:32:50.740 everyday defiance looks like keeping your church open
00:32:54.760 even when the government tells you it's too dangerous
00:32:56.860 and you need to shut it down
00:32:58.600 everyday defiance is singing songs to the Lord
00:33:03.400 with all your might
00:33:04.600 even when the propaganda tells you
00:33:06.300 that singing is the quickest way to die
00:33:08.360 because suddenly
00:33:10.640 even though we've dealt with airborne diseases
00:33:12.960 our entire life
00:33:13.980 suddenly breathing is dangerous
00:33:16.140 because the government told you it is
00:33:18.640 but we're going to sing anyway that's everyday defiance that that is so impactful to people
00:33:24.640 i have a i have a story where i was i'm a presbyterian but i go to a baptist church
00:33:29.020 because there's really no presbyterian churches around except for one that when we visited
00:33:33.540 they said well don't sing because it's too dangerous and said you'll hum the songs to yourself
00:33:38.780 i'll never go back to that church i mean it that had an impact on me the way singing loudly would
00:33:46.480 have an impact on somebody else. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show
00:33:53.020 hospitality. That's something from what I just read, right? Everyday defiance is inviting people
00:33:59.160 to your house for dinner or to a barbecue, because we're in Texas, or to game night or whatever.
00:34:06.000 Even when the government tells, you know, you might want to think of canceling Thanksgiving.
00:34:12.120 Everyday defiance is like, no, I'm just going to, you know, contribute to the needs of the saints
00:34:16.060 and seek to show hospitality.
00:34:17.980 It has an impact on people.
00:34:19.380 My wife and I, we invited someone over our house
00:34:21.960 and she was like, I know, I just haven't been anywhere
00:34:24.720 in like a year.
00:34:25.960 I was like, man, that hurts me
00:34:28.140 because she was obviously in pain.
00:34:33.200 Everyday defiance is visiting the elderly,
00:34:36.200 laying hands on the sick,
00:34:37.840 even if the government demands you to quarantine
00:34:40.340 and let them die alone.
00:34:43.500 Everyday defiance is simply this,
00:34:45.600 choosing to obey God rather than men, because God told you to. I don't know about you, but every one
00:34:52.560 of those things that I just read, including the stupid mask thing at Walmart, is a million times 0.99
00:34:57.400 better than a million Let's Go Brandon chants at the NASCAR race. Let's Go Brandon chants at the 0.99
00:35:05.700 NASCAR race don't amount to anything compared to just going to visit an elderly person when they're
00:35:11.220 sick, even though the government tells you not to. We've got to think these things through very
00:35:16.600 carefully. I believe the government wants you to protest in the flashy way. I think they love that.
00:35:22.560 I think they, that's why they draw media attention to it. They control the media, right?
00:35:27.720 They, you know, if they didn't like that stuff, they would just, it would disappear quicker than
00:35:32.280 a story on Hunter Biden's laptop. Or the fact that he's on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.
00:35:40.580 That's how fast it would disappear if they didn't want to draw attention to it.
00:35:43.440 They do love it.
00:35:45.500 And it's for different reasons, right?
00:35:46.860 Because I think what they like to do is like the, you know, the commie stuff, like, you
00:35:51.100 know, the Black Lives Matter protests, they like that because they like chaos, right?
00:35:54.880 Because chaos leads them to more power.
00:35:57.780 But like the patriotic protests, right?
00:36:00.280 I think they like these two for a different reason, because I think they try to draw attention
00:36:05.700 to it and then crush it easily, like they did in Canada.
00:36:09.580 They bring in the Calvary.
00:36:11.040 I mean, it's like, why were there horses when there's just, like, little old ladies? 0.53
00:36:16.100 She was in a walker, for goodness sake. 0.99
00:36:19.200 Why did they bring the horse? 1.00
00:36:20.080 They wanted to humiliate her. 0.99
00:36:23.220 So they love that kind of stuff because I think they think it leads them to have more power anyway.
00:36:29.300 See, everyday defiance is far superior in almost every conceivable way.
00:36:35.780 But one way is that you don't get into their media news because that's their playground.
00:36:39.580 They control the narrative there.
00:36:41.620 That's a feature.
00:36:42.520 That's not a bug.
00:36:45.340 Another good example of this is Pastor Coates in Canada, right?
00:36:48.040 Like, he's arrested for having worship service.
00:36:50.480 The government said it's too dangerous.
00:36:52.100 That's everyday defiance, right?
00:36:54.300 He went about his business.
00:36:55.600 That's all he was doing.
00:36:57.040 He went about his business because he answers to God.
00:36:59.900 They arrested him, and he took responsibility for his own protest into his own hands.
00:37:04.940 He didn't go trying to hold anyone hostage or anything.
00:37:08.400 He did it.
00:37:09.580 He did it on his own property, his own thing.
00:37:13.320 And imagine what would have happened
00:37:14.900 if we had legions of people doing exactly what he did.
00:37:20.460 You see, there were no results there 0.99
00:37:22.460 because so many of the other Canadians were cowards. 0.85
00:37:26.520 But if every Christian pastor in Canada 0.97
00:37:29.000 was doing that exact thing,
00:37:30.100 you think they would have arrested them all?
00:37:31.380 I don't think so.
00:37:32.980 Because then the optics look bad on them.
00:37:35.040 They can't turn that table.
00:37:36.820 this is an example worth following in my opinion it's everyday obedient defiance
00:37:43.720 obedient to god defiant to tyrants but that's just the beginning my second strategy
00:37:50.500 my second strategy is self-reliance so we've got the first strategy everyday defiance
00:37:57.060 second strategy self-reliance it rhymes
00:38:00.940 pretty good
00:38:06.080 I remember I was actually on Pastor Joel's podcast
00:38:11.080 where's Pastor Joel, I was on his great podcast
00:38:12.980 and we were talking about tyranny
00:38:14.640 and we were outlining the definitions
00:38:17.100 because Pastor Joel is a much better speaker than me
00:38:19.360 so he wants to define his terms, I just let it ride
00:38:21.260 but what he said, we talked about it
00:38:24.720 a tyrant is someone who's attempting to
00:38:28.340 operate and control things outside of their jurisdiction. Like they're not staying in their
00:38:32.980 lane, right? So if Biden came and he said, you know, you really got to discipline your kids this
00:38:38.160 way, that would be tyranny. But if I do it, you know, if I discipline my kids the way I need to
00:38:42.320 do it, it's not tyranny because that's my role. So they're not staying in their lane. So it's
00:38:47.060 tyranny for the government to do the vaccine mandates or, you know, the mask mandates or
00:38:51.140 whatever, because the government doesn't have that jurisdiction, not over your work,
00:38:55.500 not over personal health care, quite frankly, not even over the economy. That's not their realm.
00:39:02.400 But that does not mean nobody has jurisdiction over these things. Somebody does. And that's
00:39:07.020 somebody's you. You see, the government has this huge bureaucracy, right? So like every area of
00:39:12.640 your life is micromanaged by this array of agencies and departments. And this is like the form tyranny
00:39:19.920 typically takes, right? It's like, I hate to break it to you, but like, there are a lot of people here
00:39:23.640 worried about socialism coming to America, it's already here. It's already here. But it was slow
00:39:30.300 rolled, so you'd accept it. So like what happens is the agency that was started to keep you well
00:39:37.040 fed and healthy, the FDA, they're now using it to ban treatments that might heal you because it
00:39:44.580 doesn't align with the goal of the tyrants. The same banking systems that were introduced, I mean
00:39:50.360 It just blows my mind.
00:39:52.020 The Federal Reserve was introduced to keep employment high and prices stable.
00:39:56.560 That's not necessarily historically accurate, but that's what they say their goal is now.
00:40:02.440 Now, that same agency, their whole mission seems to be eroding your life savings.
00:40:09.640 Also, freezing the bank accounts with people that they don't like.
00:40:13.680 The same department that's supposed to improve educational quality, so no child's left behind,
00:40:18.400 is now, by law, forcing schools to teach children the joys of sodomy, cross-dressing, and why white 0.99
00:40:25.420 people are evil. This is what happens when you relinquish your responsibility to the government 0.98
00:40:31.640 and let them take responsibility for it instead. They always become corrupted. They always become
00:40:38.100 a beast. And so we protest, but this is the problem with our protests so many times.
00:40:43.820 our protests simply seek to either tear down the system or revile against the system the same
00:40:51.020 system that so many of us rely on so you can scream let's go brandon all you want but if
00:40:57.420 brandon eventually decides to go full dictator on you how are you going to survive your bank account
00:41:02.480 being frozen or worse like what if brandon doesn't cave how are you going to survive the shutdown of
00:41:09.560 supply chain that you yourself initiated. Some people have said that many countries are just a
00:41:16.100 few meals away from total chaos. And that's true for too many of us. So we can't just have chaos,
00:41:22.140 right? We can't just revile the systems that we depend on. We need to replace that system.
00:41:29.160 Because if we revile against the systems we depend on, we're essentially cutting off the
00:41:33.140 branch that we're standing on. So we must take responsibility back for what God gave us
00:41:38.980 so that whatever Brandon decides to do, I think that means Biden. I'm not sure.
00:41:45.800 Whatever President Biden decides to do, he does what he has to do, but we'll do what we have to
00:41:49.820 do. So here's a few examples. And it doesn't end here. Number one, rule yourself. Rule yourself.
00:41:57.600 Your sinful passions and desires that are at war within you, you must put them to death. If you 1.00
00:42:02.920 watch porn, just stop. How can you rule a household if you can't rule yourself? How much sense does it 0.86
00:42:11.320 make to protest the depravity of porn or Hollywood or whatever if you're a customer?
00:42:17.960 Let your denial of your fleshly desires be your protest. Don't consent to it. If you are in debt
00:42:26.020 because of your covetousness, get out of debt. Make it a protest. Don't consent to the debt-based
00:42:35.000 financial... How much sense does it make to rail against the Federal Reserve, they have a debt-based
00:42:39.660 money, if you're in debt? How much sense does it make to wring your hands about the national debt,
00:42:46.580 the libs keep adding to it, if you keep adding to your own debt? Don't be a debtor. Be a creditor.
00:42:53.180 The Bible says the borrower is slave to the lender.
00:42:55.360 That's not something that's potentially true.
00:42:57.100 It is true.
00:42:58.560 Don't be a debtor.
00:42:59.720 Don't be a slave.
00:43:01.420 Be a creditor, and you'll be the master.
00:43:05.220 I saw someone online that, and he was being snarky, right?
00:43:07.980 Like, he was against the trucker convoy too, but he was like really against his wacko.
00:43:14.700 But he said, how about instead of giving money to the trucker convoy, we call it MasterCard
00:43:18.940 and give them their money back?
00:43:21.500 That's what I'm talking about though, right?
00:43:23.000 He was being snarky.
00:43:24.620 But that's a protest, man.
00:43:26.180 I'm not going to borrow your money anymore.
00:43:29.240 Let that be your protest, right?
00:43:31.060 These are basic things, and I think they'll have a huge impact.
00:43:33.780 Even if things were good, they'd have a huge impact on your family.
00:43:36.840 Imagine a child growing up to see his father.
00:43:38.960 Like, if he wants something or needs something, instead of becoming a slave, going into debt,
00:43:43.720 he just saved up until he had enough money to buy it.
00:43:47.740 Or he controlled his passions, you know, I don't need it right now.
00:43:50.600 instead of just reviling, oh, you know, I can't believe all the debt I have.
00:43:55.820 Here's another way.
00:43:58.300 Here's another way to practice self-reliance.
00:44:00.100 Educate your own kids, right?
00:44:02.240 Don't outsource that one.
00:44:04.120 Because this is the thing, and I'm not against protesting the school board, right?
00:44:07.060 Like, my kids are homeschooled, but I also don't want other people's kids to learn about sodomy.
00:44:12.880 You know, I mean, call me crazy. 0.72
00:44:14.160 my kids are homeschooled but i also don't want other kids to learn that white people are the 0.98
00:44:20.520 devil so so okay so so take those opportunities where where they are you know you can you can 0.96
00:44:27.000 you can try to affect change of the school board right but i know but but but one thing needs to
00:44:31.820 be certain be self-reliant for your own kids right because like you might not change the school
00:44:36.740 board's mind about that they might say oh you know cross-dressing is good they'll make sure
00:44:41.760 they don't have your kids, though, right? Make sure they don't have your kids. My kids won't
00:44:48.000 be in those systems regardless of what they do with them. So we can change them, but don't rely
00:44:53.400 on them. Here's another protest that I think is growing in popularity, and I'll only be brief
00:44:59.360 here, but as much as you can, grow your own food, right? Become your own warehouse. Get utility out
00:45:08.400 of what you own. Make your own property productive. Let it be a protest. It's a lot, think about this,
00:45:15.420 like it's a lot harder to be manipulated by these beasts when you're fully stocked at home, right?
00:45:21.560 It's like, you know, get the vax or you can't come to my grocery store. Like that's a lot less
00:45:27.060 tempting when you got chickens at home. You know, you got to approve of sodomy or you can't work
00:45:34.040 here. That's a joke. When you have the ability to get utility out of your own property, earn your
00:45:39.560 own money. You know, bow the knee to Lord Trudeau or you can't access your bank account.
00:45:47.880 That's a laugh riot when you store your wealth primarily outside of the banking system.
00:45:53.600 There are some ways that I do this and other ways I don't, but you know, like you can figure it out
00:45:58.220 is my point. Let that be a protest, right? And the thing is, these are not easy things. I don't
00:46:03.220 want to say they're easy. They're simple, but this is going to make your life harder, right? It's
00:46:07.520 going to be a little more difficult, but that's okay. Let it be a protest. People kept telling
00:46:12.100 me about the trucker combo, you know, freedom is not free. And I agree with that. Freedom is not
00:46:15.560 free, but take it into your own hands. Freedom is not free. So take the time to make your own life
00:46:21.120 a little bit more difficult, but a little more safe. Let this be your protest. Don't rely on
00:46:25.840 the systems that you're protesting, especially if you want to make it last. I think this is the
00:46:30.900 fundamental problem of so many protests these days. Like, if you actually got what you want,
00:46:35.720 sometimes, and I think there's a lot about the BLM stuff and the Occupy Wall Street stuff,
00:46:40.920 like, if you actually got what you want and overturned capitalism, your life would be ruined
00:46:44.980 almost overnight. They're cutting off the branch that they're standing. Let the libs do that.
00:46:52.000 We don't have to do that. Don't put yourself in a position that makes the tyrant's temptations 1.00
00:46:59.660 tempting to you. That's a recipe for humiliation and failure. And by the way, I think this is a
00:47:05.920 biblical principle. Man, I'm going long. Sorry, guys. I keep going. Listen to what Paul says,
00:47:13.900 right? He's talking to the brothers. He says, look, do this more and more. Aspire to live
00:47:19.400 quietly and mind your own affairs. Work with your own hands as we instructed you. And he says,
00:47:25.320 be dependent on no one. He's basically saying, mind your own business, work with your own hands,
00:47:32.120 don't rely on anybody. Let that be a protest. But no man is an island, so no man can do this
00:47:40.100 himself. So my third strategy, ready? We've got everyday defiance, self-reliance, and community
00:47:47.560 alliances.
00:47:52.840 Defiance, reliance,
00:47:54.160 alliances. Not bad.
00:47:57.500 Think
00:47:57.900 locally. Start with the family, right?
00:47:59.640 Consider the psalm I read early, the one that says
00:48:01.840 unless the Lord builds the house,
00:48:04.040 those who build it labor in vain.
00:48:05.600 This is a short psalm, only a few sentences.
00:48:07.820 But the continuation of that psalm, listen to this.
00:48:10.420 Behold, children are a
00:48:11.780 heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb
00:48:13.780 of reward. Like arrows in the hand of
00:48:15.800 a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them. I don't
00:48:21.520 think this is an accident, what God's talking about here. How does God build his house?
00:48:26.880 He builds it by building families. Let this be a protest. Have kids as you are able.
00:48:34.080 Teach them to fear the Lord. Disciple them to obey everything Christ commands. And when you do this
00:48:39.100 enough times and when enough families do this, this is how you accomplish a godly revolution.
00:48:44.000 It's not flashy.
00:48:45.680 It's not flashy, especially, you know, three o'clock in the morning,
00:48:48.120 they wake up, and it's like, it won't get you on CNN.
00:48:51.740 Maybe they might deride you a little bit.
00:48:54.120 But it'll last.
00:48:55.720 This is how you build nations.
00:48:57.020 This is how you undermine pagan systems.
00:48:59.460 You out-family them.
00:49:02.040 Let your large, well-adjusted, healthy, God-fearing, self-reliant family
00:49:06.140 be your protest.
00:49:09.740 Seriously, if you want to tangle with militarized police officers
00:49:13.280 in Ottawa and have a dance party, that's okay. But I suggest have a dance party with your toddlers
00:49:20.100 instead. Let that be your protest. If you want to go into Pelosi's office and like throw her stuff 1.00
00:49:28.440 around and, you know, go live. That was one guy baked Alaska went live from her office. The maniac.
00:49:36.680 Let the other people do that. You teach your son how to build a shed or to go fishing or to go
00:49:42.160 hunting or to grow food. Let it be a protest. In turn, teach your sons to love and grow his extended
00:49:51.020 family. And what that means is his own family, yes, but also his local community, especially
00:49:56.280 the church, right? Our church is to start planning right now. We need to see the trouble coming and
00:50:01.520 adapt. That's almost a Bible verse. It says the righteous man sees trouble coming and hides
00:50:07.440 himself. Let it be a protest, right? They're going to tempt you with all kinds of conveniences that
00:50:14.260 we don't think of as conveniences. We think of them as necessities, but they're conveniences.
00:50:18.360 It's already begun. Banking, food, jobs, all of these are currently being tied to obeying the
00:50:25.640 tyrants and their schemes, right? Climate schemes, sexual perversions, all of it. In the future,
00:50:31.780 if you don't go along with this, you're going to have trouble banking. You're going to have
00:50:36.080 trouble getting loans. You're going to have trouble with food and travel and employment if you don't
00:50:41.320 go with the program. This is already happening. I know guys that can't get on a plane right now.
00:50:45.180 They're not terrorists. They just say the wrong thing about sodomy. We need to be prepared for it
00:50:51.680 by cultivating local supply chains, local food, local economies. Let it be a protest. Build things.
00:50:58.400 I'm going to talk about Gab real quick. You guys might not like Gab. I like it. It's a social media
00:51:02.960 site. And guess what? Social media, you don't have the right to use social media, right? There are
00:51:07.380 some people that are trying to force Twitter to not ban people. I think it's a terrible idea.
00:51:13.120 I think it's like the trucker thing. It's like a flashy thing. You know, it's cool to have your
00:51:16.520 favorite politician be like, I'm going to create this task force. We're going to study committee
00:51:20.880 and we're going to force Twitter to allow you to say stuff. It's like, it sounds good. It's flashy,
00:51:25.720 but even if it's a victory, I don't think that's a victory. I think that's tyranny.
00:51:28.960 instead of that build your own social media gab.com is not better than twitter
00:51:34.800 but you could say whatever you want there except for porn threats and other kinds of degeneracy
00:51:42.340 but you see the thing is it doesn't have to be as good as twitter but it's a place that that's
00:51:48.140 ours and they don't control you don't have to get with the program in order to use it right
00:51:52.840 and we should do this with everything not just with social media but with banking and with
00:51:57.640 everything. Don't stop planning in your local church until you have a plan in place for every
00:52:02.400 contingency. Because chances are, you've got people in your church already that can do everything you
00:52:07.100 need them to do. You've got plumbers, you've got contractors, you've got farmers, you've got coders,
00:52:12.760 whatever it is. Start today. Start networking, planning for the time when you might not have
00:52:18.580 access to these conveniences. Make it a protest. Because here's the thing. You want to be able to
00:52:24.440 laugh at their temptations. That's a great place to be in, right? Like when they tell you, look,
00:52:31.640 you can't come to our, you want to laugh at them. You can't go to your grocery store. I got organic
00:52:35.220 beef over here. You can come to my grocery store if you want. Right now you can go to the grocery
00:52:42.360 store. Be grateful for that because there might be a time where you have to sell your soul to go
00:52:48.240 to the grocery store. How are you going to feed yourself if you're banned from the store? So plan
00:52:53.840 now. You know, right now, someone comes to the door, threatens you, you can call the cops. Be
00:52:59.540 grateful for the cops. But there could come a time that your social credit score is not high
00:53:04.580 enough, the cops aren't going to come. So how would you protect yourself then, right? Plan now
00:53:09.400 so you're not scrambling at the moment. Do the same thing for money and banking. Do the same
00:53:14.540 thing for work. Do the same thing for everything you need because that's the kind of protest we
00:53:19.800 need. That's the kind of protest that'll last. And the reason it'll last is because it's applying
00:53:25.300 love through building instead of applying fear through destruction and reviling.
00:53:33.380 I want to, I know I'm out of time, but I'm going to read the scripture again because I want you
00:53:37.700 to think about what I've said and recognize that, look, this is God's word for dealing with tyrants
00:53:44.060 and governments. And there's no footnote that says, well, unless the commies are coming,
00:53:49.800 Because if the commies are coming, then do whatever you want.
00:53:53.500 Hear the words of God.
00:53:56.720 Let love be genuine.
00:53:58.920 Abhor what is evil.
00:54:00.520 Hold fast to what is good.
00:54:02.480 Love one another with brotherly affection.
00:54:04.760 Outdo one another in showing honor.
00:54:07.480 Do not be slothful in zeal.
00:54:09.020 Be fervent in spirit.
00:54:10.860 Serve the Lord.
00:54:12.020 Rejoice in hope.
00:54:13.060 Be patient in tribulation.
00:54:14.860 Be constant in prayer.
00:54:16.340 Contribute to the needs of the saints and show hospitality.
00:54:20.460 Bless those who persecute you.
00:54:22.520 Bless and do not curse them.
00:54:25.480 Rejoice with those who rejoice.
00:54:26.940 Weep with those who weep.
00:54:28.240 Live in harmony with one another.
00:54:30.740 Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.
00:54:33.980 Never be wise in your own sight.
00:54:35.920 Repay no one evil for evil,
00:54:37.960 but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
00:54:41.500 If possible, so far as it depends on you,
00:54:43.980 live peaceably with all.
00:54:45.960 Beloved, never avenge yourself,
00:54:47.660 but leave it to the wrath of God,
00:54:49.000 for it is written,
00:54:49.800 vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. To the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him.
00:54:56.240 If he is thirsty, give him something to drink, for by doing so you will heat burning coals on his
00:55:01.000 head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Practice ordinary obedience.
00:55:11.320 Ordinary love is your protest. Let it be your defiance. Everyday things. Don't consent to evil.
00:55:18.060 defy tyrants all day, every day, but do it according to God's commands.
00:55:23.800 It won't get you media attention, or it might not.
00:55:26.280 Sometimes it even does, if that's what you desire.
00:55:30.180 But it might not, but it's the right thing to do.
00:55:33.400 You might not get memes made about you, but that's probably a good thing.
00:55:37.140 But it's very pleasing to God.
00:55:41.300 I just want to reiterate, it is so tempting to pour all your time and all your energy
00:55:46.100 into trying to control things you can't possibly control,
00:55:49.380 like Wall Street, Congress.
00:55:51.500 And I worry about some of this stuff too,
00:55:52.840 like, oh, those bankers, you know.
00:55:56.260 It's tempting to do that.
00:55:57.940 But I suggest that you spend most of your time
00:56:00.920 in ordinary defiance, the things you can control.
00:56:04.900 I believe fully that this will lead to the victory
00:56:07.200 that we all seek in every area we seek it.
00:56:10.340 May God bless us and help us.
00:56:12.560 thanks so much for listening but real quick before you go do us a small favor take a moment
00:56:20.580 and leave us a five-star review if you enjoyed the show this is undoubtedly the best way that
00:56:26.520 you can help us get this biblically faithful content to as many people as possible thanks so much
