00:00:00.000 Hey guys, real quick before we get started, I have a small request.
00:00:03.420 If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show,
00:00:06.420 would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five-star review?
00:00:09.760 This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do
00:00:12.860 to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible. Thanks.
00:00:18.020 So I am sure that pretty much everybody, unless you live underneath a rock, has already heard the news
00:00:23.720 that the Supreme Court has officially handed down not just a draft leak of what they might do,
00:00:29.720 but their official decision, their opinion, what they're going to do in regards to Roe versus Wade,
00:00:35.120 and it is officially going to be overturned. The first thing that I want to say is praise God. I'm
00:00:40.480 going to start this video with a prayer. Father God, we thank you. We thank you for your mercy.
00:00:45.620 We thank you that you give to us more than we deserve. Our nation, our society as a whole,
00:00:52.460 Our culture has chosen to rebel against you, to be utterly wicked and heinous, raging and filled with malice towards you.
00:01:03.180 And because we hate you, we hate children who have been created in your image.
00:01:08.700 Children, all human beings, male, female, adult, child, black, white, they reveal or reflect your image, the Imago Dei, your image.
00:01:20.360 but children in a unique sense as those in the womb, innocent, not yet tainted by the society
00:01:30.100 at large. Yes, born in sin, but in a great and significant way, innocent. Those children truly
00:01:39.140 reflect your image. All people do, but there is something unique about a child reflecting the
00:01:45.640 image of the triune God. And so Lord, we know, we recognize that our nation hates children
00:01:51.640 because our nation hates you. And the fact that Roe has now been struck down is something that
00:01:59.760 we do not deserve. That is a kindness from you. That is a mercy from you. And so we give you
00:02:05.000 praise. We give you honor. We give you thanks. We recognize that this is, many Christians have
00:02:10.800 worked towards this. But ultimately, you are the one who brought this about. It is your sovereign
00:02:16.640 providence. It is your doing. It is your grace. And so we honor and acknowledge you. We give you
00:02:22.440 praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus' name, amen. All right. Two things. There's only two things I have
00:02:29.540 to say. Number one, we've got to have a couple takeaways. I am concerned that many Christians
00:02:34.880 are going to miss a few things here. Number one, voting matters. Voting matters. Really,
00:02:41.700 you're going to talk about? Yeah, I'm going to talk about that. Voting matters. If Hillary Clinton
00:02:45.860 had been president in 2016, this would not happen. All right, and I know people hate to do this,
00:02:53.160 and here's the deal. This is not an intellectual problem. This is Romans 1. Romans 1 says that the
00:02:58.120 problem with man is not intellectual. It is not that God has not revealed enough of his character.
00:03:03.920 It's not that there's not enough evidence. It's not that there's not enough facts that point towards the existence of God and not just an ethereal deity, but the triune God of the Bible. His attributes have been clearly displayed by what he has made. His eternal power, his eternal nature, his divine power. These things are clearly seen.
00:03:26.760 And the Bible says in Romans 1, they're not just clearly displayed by God, but the message
00:03:31.020 is received.
00:03:32.080 They are clearly perceived.
00:03:33.720 So man's hang up is not intellectual.
00:03:36.080 It is first and foremost moral.
00:03:38.360 It is not that people rebel against God because God has failed.
00:03:42.200 See, that's an indictment.
00:03:43.340 It's an accusation against God.
00:03:45.240 The logic goes like this.
00:03:46.380 God, you failed to prove your own existence.
00:03:49.480 And because you failed to supply enough evidence for your existence, I responded with the only
00:03:55.620 way that I could with ignorance. And then out of my ignorance, I'm rebelling. I'm simply rebelling
00:04:00.920 against a God that I don't even know exists. The Bible says it's the opposite. God has not failed.
00:04:08.200 Who are you, oh man, to talk back to God? Let God be true and every man a liar. You don't get to sit
00:04:14.280 in the judgment seat and put God on trial. God is the judge of the living and the dead. God is the
00:04:20.600 king of heaven and earth we don't get to judge God and what God's word says is this it doesn't
00:04:25.760 say that God failed in his provision to supply sufficient evidence therefore we were ignorant
00:04:31.380 and because we were ignorant we couldn't help but rebel now the Bible says God clearly displayed
00:04:37.440 enough evidence and the message was not just given it was received this is all Romans 1 and
00:04:44.000 then later furthermore in Romans chapter 2 so God revealed himself man perceived it but then what
00:04:50.020 man does is he lies and suppresses the truth in his deeds of wickedness his deeds of unrighteousness
00:04:58.360 and then he becomes progressively more and more blinded so man is ignorant the question is chicken
00:05:04.980 or the egg what came first the bible says rebellion came first and therefore because man morally wants
00:05:12.760 to rebel against god he doesn't want to submit to the lordship of christ because he is rebellious
00:05:18.680 he then suppresses the truth so that he becomes increasingly and progressively ignorant. So it's
00:05:24.600 not that God failed to provide evidence about himself. Therefore, man is ignorant. And because
00:05:29.600 man is ignorant, he cannot help but rebel against a God that he doesn't even know exists. No, no,
00:05:34.600 no. God revealed himself. Man received the message, but man hates God. Romans chapter 8,
00:05:41.380 apart from saving grace, apart from salvation, Romans 8 says that mind, the mind of the sinful
00:05:47.460 man. It's not indifferent. It's not neutral. It's not ignorant. It is hostile towards God and his
00:05:54.080 law at enmity with God. So man is rebellious. God did not fail. God revealed himself. Man hates God.
00:06:02.160 And because man hates God, he suppresses the truth about God and gives himself over further and
00:06:09.660 further and further to ignorance. Now, all that being said, all that being said, we have to be
00:06:18.220 aware. We have to be aware. The first thing that we need to take away is that voting actually does
00:06:23.580 matter. It does. It does. If, if, if evangelicals had listened to our high priest in Big Eva and
00:06:34.380 the third way-ism of guys like Tim Keller, guys who made arguments like Thabiti Mbile, who said,
00:06:43.940 you know, you can vote for Hillary, right? Trump is bad. Hillary's bad. But at least Hillary,
00:06:47.760 we have a game plan because we've had her husband as president before. The enemy that we know is 1.00
00:06:52.220 better than the enemy that we don't. That third way-ism. Here's the problem. Republicanism is
00:06:56.960 not, you've heard me say it. You need to hear it again. Republicanism is not synonymous with the
00:07:02.500 Bible. Republicans hate you. They do. But they hate you less than Democrats. And that's the problem
00:07:09.720 is that there's a lot of guys and conservative Christians who are very aware, and they're right,
00:07:15.100 but they're very aware of the problems with the Republican Party. And they're very aware
00:07:19.500 that this is not synonymous with the Bible, with God's law, God's standards. And all that is true.
00:07:26.040 All that is true. The Republican Party is sinful. But the problem is, then you got guys like Tim
00:07:32.100 Keller who play off of that. And they say, well, there's Democrats and there's Republicans,
00:07:38.900 but then there's the third way of Jesus. But what it implies, what it implies is that Republican
00:07:45.480 party policies and Democrat party policies are equally distant from Christ. No, they're both
00:07:54.580 distant from Christ. They're both bad. They're both sinful. They both have problems, not equally.
00:08:00.220 49 democrats when it was leaked from the supreme court what they were going to do what we're now
00:08:07.820 seeing when that information was leaked 49 out of 50 democrats got together and voted to codify
00:08:15.260 roe into law and not just roe but but beyond roe that you could murder your child your unborn child
00:08:22.800 in any state for any reason all the way up until the baby comes fully out of the birth canal
00:08:28.940 49 out of 50 Democrats see there was a time right the Overton window there was a time
00:08:36.280 in American politics in our two-party system where you know you might be able to say I don't
00:08:41.780 think you could ever vote for a Democrat but it was less clear it was less clear it was like well
00:08:47.000 there's some people on this side something a pro-life Democrat is like a unicorn I think
00:08:52.360 there's literally, there's like one or two of them in the nation, in the nation, right? There
00:08:59.020 was a time where there were pro-life Democrats. That was a thing. That was a thing. That's not
00:09:03.340 the case anymore. And so this idea of third wayism, oh, well, you know, you really, all that
00:09:09.120 does, this is the tactic. All that does is it assuages the conscience of Christians to vote
00:09:16.560 for a Democrat or not vote at all. Not vote at all. If enough evangelicals, right? Because when
00:09:24.540 Trump got elected, who were all the pagans mad at? Who were all the liberals mad at? They told us
00:09:31.680 explicitly who they were mad at. White cisgendered evangelical men. So by the Democrats, by their
00:09:41.420 own acknowledgment, by their own admission, evangelicals got Trump elected. And if evangelicals
00:09:48.520 had listened, here's the irony, had listened to the leaders in evangelicalism in Big Eva, we would
00:09:55.040 not have gotten Trump elected. We would have had Hillary. And if we had Hillary, we would not have
00:10:01.600 the three Supreme Court picks that Trump gave us. And we would not have Roe overturned. So the
00:10:08.460 first lesson that Christians, you've got to connect the dots, right? That's why I did the whole Romans
00:10:12.860 one spill that applies to non-Christians, but I think there's a loose application, right? I think
00:10:17.740 there's a principle that can be applied explicitly. Romans one is talking about non-Christians, but
00:10:22.380 Christians listen up. I think the principle, there is a loose application. We claim ignorance a lot
00:10:29.260 of times, but the problem is not ignorance. The problem is rebellion. We say, oh, well, intellectually,
00:10:34.780 I just didn't know a bunch about politics, or I didn't know this, I didn't know. No, no, no.
00:10:39.180 No, you weren't ignorant. Your problem is not your IQ. Your problem is not, you can be faithful
00:10:45.680 and simple. You can. The book of Proverbs talks about wisdom again and again. It has nothing to
00:10:52.520 do with a high IQ. Wisdom, wisdom is not about being the world's most intelligent person. Wisdom
00:11:00.300 is sticking to the script. Wisdom is, it's always linked in the book of Proverbs. It's always linked
00:11:05.720 not with intellect, but with humility. Wisdom and humility are two peas in a pod. They go hand in
00:11:11.600 hand. So, so you can be dumb and wise at the very same way, at the very same time. And when I say
00:11:19.140 dumb, what I mean in this case is you can be not the sharpest tool in the shed, not the brightest
00:11:24.900 crayon in the box you know you can you can be someone who does not have 140 you know IQ and
00:11:32.940 yet you can be wise by God's standards by biblical standards simply because you're humble and what
00:11:38.460 does humility look like let's not leave it up for interpretation humility looks like submission
00:11:43.680 to the lordship of Christ it looks like following the script it looks like not thinking you are
00:11:50.920 smarter than God. It looks like obedience. Humility looks like obedience to God's word.
00:11:57.320 And so all this stuff, I don't want to just leave to Christians. I know this seems simple,
00:12:02.340 like we can just assume, but I'm done assuming. Over the last few years, if there's anything
00:12:08.760 we've learned, we've learned that we cannot just assume that people are getting the message.
00:12:13.180 So if you were a kid and you ever did the drawing where you're drawing by dots,
00:12:19.100 connecting the dots and you're like, what's it going to be? Is it going to be a puppy or a cat
00:12:22.860 or a rainbow or, you know, and you're connecting the dots. This is not like 50 different dots that
00:12:27.780 need to be connected or 500. This is two dots that I'm about to do for you. It's a straight line
00:12:33.380 from one dot, one inch over to a second dot. That's how simple this is. Rose overturned because
00:12:40.360 Trump was elected. There you go. One dot, second dot. It's that simple. Well, no, no, no, no. Be
00:12:48.520 quiet. You're wrong. One dot, second dot. Trump was elected, Roe was overturned. That simple.
00:12:56.940 It really is that simple. Now, that being said, I understand that some Christians did not vote
00:13:02.980 for Trump because they had no clue, right? We had no clue, right? He was running as a conservative,
00:13:10.260 right? But that's the same as like Dr. Oz, right? I mean, maybe he turns out to be conservative,
00:13:14.100 But based off of his past policies or his past opinions, what he's done, his history, we have no reason.
00:13:22.680 And so that's fair to say in the case of Trump, we had no reason.
00:13:25.400 But here's the deal.
00:13:26.540 We had evangelicals.
00:13:27.980 They weren't just saying we can't trust Trump.
00:13:30.280 That was a reasonable argument in 2016.
00:13:33.080 But they weren't just saying that in 2015.
00:13:36.160 They were saying we should vote for Hillary.
00:13:39.660 Or we should just not vote at all.
00:13:41.880 or, or your votes can literally, you can just draw lots. You know, you can roll the dice,
00:13:46.540 Hillary or Trump. It's exactly no, no, no, no, no, no. Trump. We didn't know if we could trust
00:13:51.280 him. Maybe he won't be pro-life, but we knew Hillary would not be pro-life. We knew that
00:13:58.300 we knew that she would be the most progressive, um, um, uh, aggressive, uh, pro murder, pro
00:14:07.660 abortion president that our nation had ever seen in its 250 years of existence we knew that trump
00:14:16.480 there wasn't a lot of certainty but but hillary there was certainty we were certain that she 0.99
00:14:22.460 wanted to murder children if trump had not been elected this would not have happened again this
00:14:28.840 is not saying trump's a christian oh trump is great i'm not saying i'm not saying all of his
00:14:33.080 policies were great I don't like what he did with the vaccine let me just be honest I don't like
00:14:38.080 what Trump did with the vaccine I don't like what he did with the stimulus package and I'll tell you
00:14:42.860 especially what I don't like I don't like that Trump put Fauci an unelected official and gave
00:14:49.460 him more power than any American politician because that's what he was any American politician
00:14:55.740 has ever had before Trump anointed priest Fauci we need to remember that right people say well I
00:15:02.500 don't, I didn't like Trump because of his tweets. Well, grow up, grow up, okay? Put your big boy
00:15:07.800 pants on. We live in the world. It's the real world. Grow up. Trump's tweets, right? His tweets
00:15:13.740 were not Christian tweets, okay? So I'm not vouching for his tweets. I'm not saying that
00:15:20.140 that was a good thing, but what I'm saying is my problem with Trump was a real problem. This is
00:15:24.200 the problem that Christians should have had, not his rhetoric, not his tweets. That's a problem,
00:15:29.040 but it is a small problem in comparison with what he did with Fauci that's the real problem
00:15:34.580 and that's why I am a little bit hesitant I mean if Trump is on the ballot versus Biden yeah I'm
00:15:39.680 voting for Trump of course because I'm a Christian of course and yes it is that simple it is that's
00:15:46.340 the two dots again one dot straight line to the second dot it is that simple Trump or Biden you
00:15:51.820 vote for Trump. Period. Period. That said, if I have a choice between someone like Trump and
00:15:58.620 DeSantis, I would pick Ron DeSantis. I would. So Trump's problem was not his rhetoric. That was a
00:16:04.240 problem. But the problem was the way that he dealt with things in 2020. A lot of the stuff that the
00:16:09.960 Democrats have done have made it far, far, far worse. And they've done it with their eyes wide
00:16:14.020 open. And it's fair to say that in 2020, Trump had a lot less information. That's true. But Trump did
00:16:19.020 a bad job. A lot of the things that have hurt our culture and our society over these last two years,
00:16:24.280 Trump started. You got to remember that. Trump started those things. So all that being said,
00:16:29.240 I am not, I am not some radical MAGA Trumper. I'm not. But if you've got Trump and Hillary
00:16:38.660 Clinton in 2016 on the ballot, the choice is clear. And thank God, thank God that enough
00:16:48.260 Christians voted for Trump, or this would not be happening with Roe being overturned, period. It is
00:16:54.220 that simple. So lesson number one, that you might say, Joel, do people really need to? Yes. Yeah,
00:17:00.980 they need to hear this. Lesson number one, voting actually matters. Here, I'll say it like this.
00:17:07.140 Perhaps you've heard this said in, in pulpits again and again and again, you know, the world
00:17:10.940 will never change by legislation. It's only going to change by heart transformation, right? And we
00:17:17.400 immediately say, oh, that must be universally true because a preacher said it and it rhymes,
00:17:23.880 right? The standard for truth is not God's word and exegesis. The standard for truth
00:17:27.760 is rhyming, right? I know I'm being facetious, but we act like that sometimes. Oh, that was a
00:17:34.020 good statement. Okay, but dig into it a bit, right? So the world will never change. Cultures
00:17:39.320 never change. Nations never change by legislation, but by heart transformation. This is what I want
00:17:44.660 for people to understand no it's both it is primarily fundamentally the gospel conversion
00:17:53.080 heart transformation it is that is always number one that is always number one that we would
00:17:59.280 fulfill the great commission we would preach the gospel we would make disciples we would baptize
00:18:04.640 the nations into the name of the triune god and teach them to obey all of christ's commands
00:18:10.720 that is always primary conversion heart transformation but that is not at the expense
00:18:17.540 of anything and everything else if no one no extra people are converted but abortion is made
00:18:26.660 illegal and criminalized and some states will do it it's going to take some time but some states
00:18:32.920 we'll do it. If abortion is made not only illegal, it can't be accessed, but it's actually
00:18:41.100 criminalized. Like there are actual penalties. And I would advocate as a Christian that it should be
00:18:47.920 equal penalties. Equal penalties, right, for murder. If you commit a homicide in any other
00:18:54.200 kind of arena, this is a penalty, okay? Abortion is homicide. It should be the same penalties.
00:19:00.980 I argue for equal penalties because equal penalties mean equal protection and equal protection for the unborn and the born means equal penalties, equal protection means equal value.
00:19:16.660 How can you say, think about this for a second.
00:19:18.740 This is the logic.
00:19:19.560 Again, connecting dots.
00:19:20.620 This is three dots, but still not hard.
00:19:22.920 Equal penalties means equal protection.
00:19:25.040 Equal protection for born and unborn means equal value.
00:19:29.340 if you don't have equal penalties for for murder in the womb then you do for murder outside of the
00:19:37.300 womb then then you don't have an equal incentive deterring people from murdering one class of
00:19:44.180 person from another class which means you have two different classes of people and the unborn child
00:19:50.360 is something with with less value less dignity we can still say oh they have some value they even
00:19:57.740 have a lot of value but less value than the person who is born you you have that is the conclusion
00:20:03.460 you have to admit that if you don't think there should be equal penalties then there's not equal
00:20:07.620 protection if there's not equal protection then there's not equal value period and the unborn
00:20:12.500 child becomes a subclass of human beings have you ever heard that rhetoric in our nation's history
00:20:17.780 before where one group of people is is is viewed and and and labeled as a subclass they're human
00:20:26.860 but not quite, not fully. And so, and so we're going to have separate but equal kind of things
00:20:33.720 going. Remember that? That didn't go well, right? On the right side of history now, we all look back
00:20:39.200 and say that that was, that was heinous. That was inexcusable. You want to be on the right side of
00:20:43.980 history? Don't just be pro-life. You want to be on the right side of history? You, you must say
00:20:48.780 that abortion is murder and it should be treated as such. And that, that unborn children don't
00:20:54.980 just have value, they have equal value to those who are born. They are human beings, fully human,
00:21:01.780 with the same degree of value. Therefore, they deserve the same degree of protection. Therefore,
00:21:09.900 we must have equal weights and balances, equal penalties under the law. Now, all that being said,
00:21:18.980 it's going to be a long time till we get there. But immediately what we'll see is we'll see some
00:21:23.080 states making abortion completely banned. Then what we want to work towards is abortion being
00:21:29.600 criminalized. And what we really want to see is it criminalized by the same standard as any other
00:21:37.180 kind of murder. And I'm not saying we should work towards that incrementally. I'm just saying
00:21:41.700 that's what's going to happen. That's probably what's going to happen. I think we should just
00:21:46.980 go ahead and skip right to the end, to that third dot and say, we are working for abortion being
00:21:53.240 abolished, that it is illegal, it is criminalized, and it has the same penalties as murder in any
00:22:01.160 other case scenario. I think that's what Christians, that should be our game plan.
00:22:05.900 But my point is this, this is going to start happening. It's going to be slow. It's going
00:22:11.320 to be state by state. It's going to start happening. And this is amazing. We still have
00:22:16.540 a lot of work to do, is what I'm saying. We have a lot of work to do, but this is awesome. Now,
00:22:21.440 some of you, you might say, well, Roe versus Wade being overturned, you know, that doesn't really
00:22:25.580 mean anything at all. You're right. Objectively, objectively, and in a legal standpoint, why were
00:22:32.840 Democrats scrambling over the last few months trying to codify Roe? Because it was never law.
00:22:39.720 It was never law.
00:22:41.020 It was a Supreme Court opinion
00:22:43.200 that individual states with their own state rights
00:22:47.940 and state governments and state constitutions
00:22:50.680 could have foregone for the last 49 years.
00:22:55.020 Did you know that?
00:22:56.040 That's another thing.
00:22:56.880 I titled this video,
00:22:58.660 things that Christians need to know
00:22:59.860 that they probably don't.
00:23:01.620 Did you know that states,
00:23:04.080 if they actually were pro-life,
00:23:05.980 if they actually cared about unborn children,
00:23:08.360 like they claim to. They could have ignored Roe for the last 49 years. Did you know that?
00:23:17.200 Because they have a state constitution. You might say, well, what about the federal constitution?
00:23:21.700 Well, first, that gets into a whole, you know, argument about states' rights versus national
00:23:26.660 rights. And I would argue for the states' rights trumping that. But here's the deal.
00:23:29.880 Our federal constitution, there is no provision for abortion. That is a made up right. That's a
00:23:37.820 made up right. If anything, and I would argue this, we have the 14th Amendment that is for life,
00:23:46.060 even in the womb. So for 49 years, states could have been operating, if they were truly pro-life,
00:23:52.700 if they were truly conservative, they could have been operating as though Roe was never a thing.
00:23:57.540 Why? Because Roe was never a thing. It wasn't. So then what does this mean, right? What does it
00:24:04.460 mean that rose overturned, right? If nothing really is changing because we could have been
00:24:07.880 doing this all along, what does this mean? In the providence of God, this is what it means.
00:24:12.220 In God's mercy and providence, what it means is now the hypocrites have no excuse. They never had
00:24:18.900 an excuse, but now it'll be blatantly obvious. It'll be visible. It'll be visible. Now you'll
00:24:27.580 be able to look at your state governor and say, oh, you hate children. You're a Republican that hates
00:24:36.300 children. You want them dead. You do. Oh, no, no, I don't want them. No, you do. You hate God and you
00:24:45.700 hate his image and the unborn child and you want them dead. Because if you didn't, if you didn't,
00:24:52.920 Roe's been overturned. That's what you've been hiding behind. That's been your excuse.
00:24:57.600 That's the explanation you've been given for the last 49 years. And now nothing's stopping you.
00:25:04.360 So now we're going to get to see with red states like mine, Texas, and I know I'm going to be
00:25:08.880 disappointed. I'll say it right now. I'm going to be disappointed. Texas is going to probably make,
00:25:14.080 this is my prediction, it'll make abortion illegal, but not criminalize it. And if there are criminal
00:25:19.460 consequences penalties it'll be like a thousand dollar fine for abortion doctors but the woman
00:25:25.980 she's really a victim or ten thousand dollar fine for the abortion doctor who is a hitman that's a
00:25:32.180 serial killer how would we treat a serial killer in any other scenario and the mother right believe
00:25:39.420 all women worship women no i'm a christian i'm a christian pastor i don't do that crap
00:25:45.040 No, I don't worship Jezebel.
00:25:46.800 I worship Jesus.
00:25:48.560 I'll say that again, because some of you, you're not used to a pastor who doesn't worship Jezebel.
00:25:52.280 I worship Jesus. 0.96
00:25:54.640 Women are not victims.
00:25:56.160 Not an abortion. 1.00
00:25:57.160 The baby is a victim. 0.63
00:25:59.640 The baby is a victim. 0.83
00:26:00.960 And that woman who goes and gets an abortion, we don't just penalize the serial killer hitman,
00:26:06.800 a.k.a. the abortion doctor, and we certainly don't penalize him with a fine.
00:26:11.780 He should get the death penalty. 0.58
00:26:13.660 And that woman, she, I mean, what would you do with a mother who brought, right?
00:26:17.820 This is how you can tell if there's equal weights and measures.
00:26:20.040 Just change the scenario. 0.86
00:26:22.060 What would you do with a mother who brought her three-year-old son to a hitman in a basement underground?
00:26:30.500 And then she held down her three-year-old child and the hitman took a lethal injection and put it into his veins and killed him.
00:26:39.080 And she then paid him.
00:26:40.740 what would we what would we call that we say that she murdered the child and if the father
00:26:48.720 is involved and gives his consent he's also a murderer and if he coerces the mother to do that
00:26:55.680 then she might be innocent in that case and only in that case she might be innocent and then
00:27:00.720 therefore the father and the abortion doctor are murderers this is not rocket science it's not
00:27:05.800 but christians don't get this this is not rocket science so what we're going to see is we're going
00:27:10.600 to see red states pretend to be red and now that Roe is overturned they always could have been
00:27:17.200 doing this but now that it's overturned the veil that thin veil that they were hiding behind oh
00:27:24.480 we really want to love children we just can't our hands are tied behind our back that was always a
00:27:29.120 lie now everyone gets to see it everyone gets to see it and that is God's mercy that that is a good
00:27:36.380 thing. That's a good thing. So I am praising God that Roe is going to be overturned. I'm praising
00:27:41.300 God for that. I am. Because it is a mercy when God, in his sovereignty and in his love, exposes
00:27:50.380 sin. Did you know that? In love, God exposes sin. Do not take part in the deeds done in darkness
00:27:59.640 and wickedness, but rather expose them, Ephesians 5, 11.
00:28:04.560 I mean, even when Jesus confronted the rich young ruler, the Bible says he looked at him,
00:28:10.840 Jesus looked at him and loved him, and then called out his sin.
00:28:16.080 That is a mercy of God to expose sin, and that's what we're going to see.
00:28:20.300 It's a mercy towards the sinner, the hypocrite themselves, but it's also a mercy to everybody
00:28:26.020 else so that we would not be deceived, so that Christians wouldn't be led on. So we're going to
00:28:32.360 get to see now, we're going to get to see who is actually someone who loves children in the womb
00:28:39.640 and more importantly than that, who is actually going to obey the law of God? Who is actually
00:28:46.000 a serious follower of Jesus? Who's going to stand up for true biblical values? Who's going to
00:28:52.820 uphold God's standard and not man's fluctuating standard. I don't want any more conservatives.
00:29:00.280 I don't want just conservative. Conservativism is just progressives and their policies 10 years
00:29:07.360 behind. That's all it is. So no, I'm not interested in walking just a little slower to hell
00:29:15.060 as a nation. I'm not interested in that. I don't want us just to walk to hell a little bit slower.
00:29:21.560 I actually, I've used this argument before.
00:29:24.560 I don't even want to be called a conservative.
00:29:26.200 I do call myself a conservative because people know what it means and words matter.
00:29:29.500 But if I want to be technical, this is what I would call myself.
00:29:32.040 And it sounds funny, but a progressive.
00:29:34.620 Meaning there are progressives that are actually regressives.
00:29:38.440 They want to go backwards into filth and muck and mire.
00:29:43.940 That's what a progressive is in our nation.
00:29:45.740 They're not a progressive.
00:29:46.760 They're a regressive.
00:29:47.800 They want us to go backwards into insanity.
00:29:50.800 So we have regressives, alleged progressives.
00:29:54.300 We have conservatives who are actually just slower regressives.
00:29:59.060 And then we have actual conservatives who are like, here I stand, I will not budge.
00:30:04.920 And then we have the true progressives who are like, no, no, no, I'm not just conserving.
00:30:09.560 I'm going to beat you.
00:30:12.140 I'm going to win.
00:30:13.820 I'm not just conservative.
00:30:15.240 I'm fighting.
00:30:16.740 I'm going to win.
00:30:18.820 We're not just going to say, we won't get any more sinful than this, Jesus.
00:30:22.600 No, no, we're going to get better than this.
00:30:25.200 Jesus, we're going to repent.
00:30:27.200 We're going to pursue righteousness.
00:30:29.380 And we're going to do it first and foremost, as I said earlier, by preaching the gospel and heart transformation.
00:30:34.760 Yes, but we're also going to do it through legislation.
00:30:38.140 So back to that whole, that rhyming thing.
00:30:39.880 Oh, the world doesn't change by legislation, but heart transformation.
00:30:43.340 Yeah, first and foremost, heart transformation.
00:30:45.940 but legislation matters and because legislation matters voting matters let me illustrate the
00:30:53.140 point do you know how many annual homicides we have and now it's ticked up but this was
00:30:58.680 a few years ago but do you know how many annual homicides we have in the United States of America
00:31:03.960 as a whole each year 16,000 do you know how many abortions we have annually in the United States
00:31:11.380 of America? Almost a million. And just for the record, that doesn't even count the morning after
00:31:17.400 pill. There are other abortions that we don't even know about, okay? So that's a low estimate.
00:31:23.240 So a million abortions, murder in the womb. And then 16,000 homicides, murder out of the womb.
00:31:31.060 Think about that for a second. Let me make it real clear. I don't want you guys to miss this.
00:31:34.880 I'm going to force you to connect the dots.
00:31:37.640 In America, each year, 16,000 people murdered who were outside of the womb.
00:31:42.800 One million people murdered inside the womb.
00:31:46.180 Why?
00:31:47.200 What would contribute to such a massive difference in the statistics legislation?
00:31:55.740 It turns out that murderers tend to gravitate towards whatever form of murder is legal.
00:32:04.100 Whoa.
00:32:05.880 Shocking.
00:32:07.960 Murderers, if given, here's the options of who to murder and how to murder.
00:32:14.420 Oh, there's one group of people that we can murder in one particular way and there's no consequences?
00:32:22.000 Okay, we'll do that.
00:32:24.200 See, people don't understand the law of God and they don't understand not just the divisions of the law, right?
00:32:29.780 his moral, civil, ceremonial, but they don't understand the three uses of the law. The first
00:32:36.000 use of the law is to reveal to us our sin. We see the law of God. We see his holiness because of his
00:32:41.280 holy law. And by consequence, we see our sinfulness and it doesn't save us, but it drives us to Christ
00:32:46.840 who saves us. So the first use of the law is not saving. The law doesn't say no man will be saved
00:32:52.780 by works as done unto the law. The law doesn't save us, but the law reveals our need for a savior.
00:32:58.060 Charles Spurgeon, he once said, a man cannot appreciate the necessity or the beauty of Christ
00:33:03.220 without first coming to see the necessity for Christ. You've got to see how much you need Jesus
00:33:07.940 before you actually desire Jesus. And you'll never see how much you need Jesus unless you see that
00:33:13.460 God is holy and you are not. That's the first use of the law. The law does that. All right. And then
00:33:18.600 we also have the third, Lutherans argue it's the second, but third use of the law. Third use of
00:33:23.500 the law is it doesn't just reveal my need for a savior, point me towards Christ and the gospel,
00:33:28.060 But the law also is a lamp unto my feet.
00:33:31.700 It guides me.
00:33:33.520 It directs me.
00:33:34.500 It's a compass.
00:33:35.520 So the law is a mirror.
00:33:36.980 It reveals my need for a Savior and drives me to Christ.
00:33:39.380 It's also a compass.
00:33:41.160 It directs me in which way to go.
00:33:43.200 It lights the path, the path to salvation.
00:33:46.040 No, no, the gospel is the path to salvation.
00:33:48.880 No, it's the path from salvation.
00:33:51.360 It shows me not how to obey so that I can be saved.
00:33:54.960 No, it shows me how to obey because I've already been saved.
00:33:58.680 It shows me how to respond in love for God because he first loved me.
00:34:03.580 How to respond in obedience as an act of gratitude for the free salvation I have by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
00:34:12.660 So the law works as a mirror.
00:34:14.240 It reveals my need for a savior.
00:34:15.960 It works as a compass.
00:34:17.800 It shows me where to go.
00:34:19.420 because God loved me first in the gospel
00:34:22.860 and I've been saved by grace alone,
00:34:25.800 I now want to respond with love for God.
00:34:28.700 Well, what does Jesus say?
00:34:30.000 If you love me, you'll obey me.
00:34:32.660 Obey what?
00:34:33.740 God's law, right?
00:34:35.220 Okay, but here's the other use of God's law
00:34:36.760 that people don't get.
00:34:37.980 The second use of God's law is this.
00:34:39.840 It's mirror, it's compass, it's also shield.
00:34:43.080 And this function of the law of God
00:34:45.440 works not just in individuals,
00:34:47.160 but whole cultures and societies.
00:34:49.420 And it doesn't just work for the Christian or the elect who is going to become a Christian
00:34:53.800 who's being drawn by the Holy Spirit unto salvation.
00:34:56.920 It works for the unregenerate pagan.
00:35:00.580 It's a shield.
00:35:01.480 The law of God restrains evil.
00:35:04.980 It doesn't do anything to restrain evil at the level of the heart, okay?
00:35:09.900 So I'm not saying that the law of God, when legislated through righteous policies,
00:35:14.400 righteous laws by the civil magistrate, I'm not saying that that changes the heart.
00:35:18.660 And I'm not saying that that restrains evil at the level of thoughts and intentions and
00:35:23.320 desires, the heart.
00:35:24.360 But what it does do is that the law of God in its second use as a shield, it has a common
00:35:30.240 grace benefit, not just for the Christian, but even for the non-Christian, it holds evil
00:35:35.780 at bay.
00:35:37.140 Heart level evil?
00:35:38.160 No.
00:35:38.620 Outward manifestations of evil.
00:35:41.760 More people would do more crimes if everything was permissible.
00:35:48.200 if there were no penalties, right? That's what we see. We saw all these get loose on crime,
00:35:54.520 a thousand dollar bail for, for, you know, horrible criminals. And then they get out
00:35:59.720 and they go commit crime again. But, but we've seen this uptick in crime in our big blue cities
00:36:07.240 in our nation, like, like New York, for instance, like LA, because of, of a lessening of laws
00:36:14.420 against crime and penalties for criminals. So one of the functions of the law is that when we have
00:36:19.700 good laws, and what makes a law good? Is it according to God's standard? And good penalties,
00:36:27.420 strict, swift penalties, again, according to God's standard, guess what? Hearts change. No,
00:36:33.380 I'm not saying that. Because some of you are going to say, oh, you're a legalist? No,
00:36:36.760 I'm not saying that. It doesn't change hearts. It changes actions. Only the gospel will change
00:36:43.140 the heart. So I'm not saying we need to do anything as a substitute to preaching the gospel.
00:36:48.700 I'm saying we need to do more. We can never do anything less than preaching the gospel.
00:36:55.280 But oh, how we need to do more. We need to vote. We need to vote. And we need to vote
00:37:02.500 for those who actually put in righteous laws with righteous penalties that will not change
00:37:10.260 people's heart but will hold back will restrain the outward manifestations of evil so that we
00:37:17.660 live in a more peaceable flourishing society that's that's reformed theology of the law of
00:37:25.680 god 101 and just for the record tim keller knows that like some guys are just they're just
00:37:32.040 theologically illiterate they're biblically illiterate right they're just their theology
00:37:36.760 is weak. They're just weak. Tim Keller, that's what's so scary about Tim Keller. He's not done.
00:37:45.100 Right, G.K. Chesterton, he said, don't never attribute to malice what can easily be explained
00:37:50.420 by stupidity. The problem with Tim Keller is he's got cancer and he's dying right now
00:37:55.500 and he's not stupid. That only leaves one option. Malice on your deathbed, not a good place to be.
00:38:06.280 We should pray for Tim Keller, but we need to pray that God, I don't know, that God
00:38:12.240 would either save him, that's an actual possibility, that he may not be saved, or that God would
00:38:17.060 grant him the gift of repentance for ongoing sin, continual deception.
00:38:23.040 Tim Keller, he is a water carrier for the Democrat Party and has been for years, for
00:38:29.500 years. If Tim Keller and Thabiti and Eric Mason, if these guys had their way, that's my whole point,
00:38:38.300 going back all the way to the beginning, if they had their way, Hillary would have been president
00:38:42.080 instead of Trump. And all those Christians who are clapping and praising God, thank you, God.
00:38:47.600 Yeah, yeah, thank God. But also, open your eyes and figure out how God did this.
00:38:54.120 God does things because he's sovereign.
00:38:55.520 But God's sovereignty, it takes place through human agency and means.
00:39:01.960 God's sovereign ends of what he brings about, he brings about through means.
00:39:07.680 Through means.
00:39:08.380 And the means of overturning Roe was Trump.
00:39:13.120 Like him or not.
00:39:14.920 And if it had been Hillary, it wouldn't have happened.
00:39:18.200 And what made the difference between Trump being president and Hillary not?
00:39:21.580 Voting.
00:39:22.100 And according to Democrats, by their own admission, the evangelical vote.
00:39:29.180 Praise God that evangelicals did not listen to the leaders in evangelicalism.
00:39:35.600 Praise God that evangelicals didn't listen to the ERLC and Russell Moore.
00:39:40.200 Praise God they didn't listen to Tim Keller.
00:39:43.060 Praise God.
00:39:45.840 Now, sadly, I hate to say this, but I'm going to say it.
00:39:48.200 Sadly, I think too many evangelicals listened to John Piper on this last election and the article that he wrote about, oh, you can vote for Trump or Biden.
00:39:58.560 No, he didn't explicitly say that, but that was the implication.
00:40:00.960 You know it was the implication.
00:40:02.920 The implication was he set up a false dichotomy.
00:40:05.040 You can vote for Trump, but man, he's really, really arrogant.
00:40:08.900 Or you can vote for Biden, but he's pro-abortion.
00:40:12.840 and then the whole article was but really arrogance and its effects might be just as bad
00:40:19.980 as murder i'll tell you what the first thing that was wrong with that first thing that was wrong
00:40:25.280 with that is is it's a false dichotomy this is what he's doing piper was saying trump has a
00:40:30.400 monopoly on the sin of pride listen the pro-abortion guy biden think about this for a second this is
00:40:39.180 so simple. You can't murder children humbly. That was the implication of John Piper's article.
00:40:48.180 You have pride, a candidate who embodies the sin of pride and another one who embodies the sin of
00:40:52.820 murder. But pride might be just as bad as murder, a.k.a. you can vote for either or not vote at all.
00:40:59.400 And now we have Biden. John Piper, I guarantee you, John Piper is responsible for assuaging
00:41:06.420 the conscience of thousands, I don't know if it was enough to turn the boat, but thousands,
00:41:10.760 maybe tens of thousands of Christians to vote for Biden or to at least not vote for Trump.
00:41:17.120 John Piper heard us. Now, the nice thing about John Piper that's different than Tim Keller,
00:41:22.700 Tim Keller said he's not stupid, which only leaves one option, malice. John Piper,
00:41:27.120 by God's grace, to John Piper's own benefit, he's a little stupid. And I'm not trying to
00:41:31.520 be disrespectful. John Piper is brilliant with a lot of theology, but he does not know politics.
00:41:37.580 John Piper does not understand civil policy. He does not understand the political realm,
00:41:42.160 the civil magistrate. He just, he doesn't. He just doesn't. That's a weak point. John Piper
00:41:47.280 has a lot of strengths, but that is a weak point of John Piper's ministry. You look at the last
00:41:51.980 50 years of him ministering, John Piper in many ways is a pietist. He talks about the glory of
00:41:58.760 God, exult in the glory of God, enjoying God, desiring God. And it's good. It's the Edwards,
00:42:06.240 Jonathan Edwards kind of stuff. It's some of the best of Edwards. But what it misses,
00:42:12.480 well, for one, it misses Edwards post-millennialism and Edwards was post-mill. And it misses
00:42:18.760 application. That's what John Piper, see, you can say it like this. John Piper is a pietist,
00:42:22.880 good theology but but he doesn't apply it whereas Tim Keller is a Marxist bad theology and he does
00:42:30.820 apply it let me say that again Piper pietist good theology but he won't apply it it's just home of
00:42:39.200 the church home of the church and then Tim Keller bad theology and gosh that guy is not a two kingdom
00:42:45.220 that's a Kuyperian if there ever has been one and the problem is not his Kuyperianism that the
00:42:49.440 problem is Tim Keller's Marxism applied to every realm, culture, arts, politics. So my point in all
00:42:57.900 this is to say who you vote for matters. That's number one. Number two, I've already covered it.
00:43:02.740 So I'll just end it briefly with this. Number two is it God in his mercy is lifting the thin veil.
00:43:10.220 Now we get to see who the hypocrites are. Now we get to see who the Pharisees are. And we already
00:43:14.460 have a really good idea. We've already seen a lot of them. This is God just doing what he's been
00:43:18.020 doing for the last two years the last two years people did not magically get more wicked in the
00:43:22.260 last two years no god in his mercy through covid and through this and through that god just lifted
00:43:27.120 the veil and let us see how wicked people have always been people are not getting more wicked
00:43:31.980 god just lifted the veil and we got to see how wicked people have always been and now we get
00:43:37.000 to see it in this arena with abortion we're going to get to see how many republicans how many pro
00:43:44.060 lifers? How many conservatives hate children? And my counsel to you, Christian, ignore them.
00:43:53.980 Call them out because Jesus does that. He calls people out and call them out by name like I've
00:43:58.980 been doing in this video. There's a biblical precedent for that. Call them out, but then
00:44:03.140 go right around them and do the works of righteousness. Obey God's law. Preach the gospel.
00:44:13.000 vote the right way according to god's standards listen christ is subjecting all of his enemies
00:44:22.180 one by one as a footstool for his feet secularism and modernity and all the crap that's come out of
00:44:29.340 it feminism abortion all these things sexual immorality and perversion it's it's all gonna
00:44:36.640 fall you want to be on the right side of history it's easy be on jesus side you know why his side
00:44:42.900 the right side of history? Because Jesus wins. Jesus isn't a loser. Well, what about the
00:44:49.600 crucifixion? Yeah, that's how he wins. Jesus won by dying. But guess what? He's not dead anymore.
00:44:56.120 A lot of Christians, it's like they miss that. Jesus died. That's part of the gospel story.
00:45:01.480 That's the pinnacle. That's paramount. Jesus died. It's true. Praise God. But did you know
00:45:07.680 he also rose again. He's not dead. He's alive. And he didn't just rise from the grave. He then
00:45:17.580 ascended to the right hand of the majesty on high. He is ruling and reigning. He is not just
00:45:25.920 Ortlund's, you know, eat your heart out. You know, he is not just Jesus meek and mild.
00:45:31.580 he is Jesus militant and triumphant King Jesus ruling reigning and as Matthew Henry the late
00:45:42.060 great Puritan said every knee will bow and those knees that will not bow will break because he who
00:45:49.760 rules the universe not just heaven but earth with an iron scepter he will shatter their kneecaps
00:45:56.480 on that day and he is doing it through his church hell is on the defense the gates not the weapons
00:46:04.700 the gates of hell will not be able to prevail against the battering ram of the church that
00:46:12.160 christ jesus our commander and chief is wielding against these false demonic ideologies they will
00:46:20.340 fall. And if you want to be on the right side of history, then join Jesus and join us.
00:46:28.660 Laugh at the wickedness of our day. Call it out. Mock it. That is appropriate, righteous response.
00:46:35.880 Mock it and then get to work. But don't you just sit around and complain and don't be surprised.
00:46:43.740 I've been telling you this. Doug Wilson's been telling you this. Jeff Durbin, my goodness,
00:46:48.220 on the issue of abortion, he's been telling you this for like 10 years, 15, 20 years. He's been
00:46:53.180 saying it's never been about Roe. Roe was always an illusion. States could have always ignored Roe.
00:46:58.200 So don't be surprised because faithful men, better men than me, I'm one of them, but better men than
00:47:02.600 me, longer than me, they've been telling you this. So don't be surprised and don't just sit around
00:47:07.240 and complain. Build. Build. Right? That's what conservatives do all the time. I'll end with
00:47:15.860 this. This is what conservatives do all the time. And Christians do it too, right? It's the four B's. 0.98
00:47:20.960 You've probably heard me say this before, right? First we get beat. Got to do that, right? Because
00:47:25.320 what is a Christian who ever is successful? I mean, isn't that bad? Does God want us to be
00:47:30.920 successful? If I'm being successful, something must be wrong. I need to lose. I've got to lose,
00:47:36.020 right? So one, Christians get beat. Number two, once you get beat, bemoan, complain, whine.
00:47:45.720 Number three, boycott.
00:47:47.800 We've got to boycott something.
00:47:49.260 Got to boycott Disney.
00:47:50.200 I'm boycotting Disney.
00:47:51.700 But Chris, we do it for like three weeks.
00:47:55.920 So get beat, bemoan, boycott.
00:47:59.900 And then the fourth B, what is it?
00:48:03.960 Get beat, bemoan, boycott.
00:48:07.680 Oh, and then beg.
00:48:09.340 Beg for donations.
00:48:11.520 Beg.
00:48:11.800 the fifth b that we need true christians they don't get beat all the time and sometimes they do
00:48:21.360 but it's not that's not the goal we're not trying to get beat and and when we do get beat we don't
00:48:26.840 just bemoan and complain and we don't just boycott and we don't just beg for donations
00:48:34.920 No, the fifth B is build.
00:48:38.060 Real Christians, build.
00:48:41.540 They'll get beat sometimes.
00:48:42.540 We're going to lose some battles.
00:48:43.280 But they don't just whine and complain and beg for donations.
00:48:50.560 And we ask for donations.
00:48:52.600 We are a non-profit religious organization.
00:48:55.380 And some of you might be called, like me, to start a podcast and pastor a church and these kinds of things.
00:49:00.100 Praise God, do it.
00:49:01.640 But you know what?
00:49:02.240 the vast majority of you listening to me, please don't start a podcast. The vast majority of you,
00:49:07.260 you know what you need to do? Start a for-profit business. Build something. Run for some kind of
00:49:15.500 civil office. Run for mayor. Run for your city council. Don't just bemoan. Don't just complain.
00:49:23.380 and don't just boycott win build build in in in the the marketplace build in the civil
00:49:32.560 magistrate by running for office and and voting uh build in the art some of you guys you're
00:49:38.000 graphic designers some of you you're film guys some of you you're christians and you quit working
00:49:41.900 for disney just a few weeks ago because of what they've done start your own company start building
00:49:46.580 Get together. Find each other somehow. Network. Do something. You can. I know you can. I'm not
00:49:53.640 trying to pick on you. I'm trying to comfort you and console you and encourage you. You can do it.
00:49:58.680 You're gifted. You're gifted. Look, we've got the book. We've got the Bible. We know the answers.
00:50:05.900 Liberals are not beating us because they're better than us. It's just they're beating us
00:50:10.680 because they actually play. They actually play to win. And we keep forfeiting because we think
00:50:16.640 losing is the goal. So stop it. That's my pastoral counsel. Stop it. All right. I love you guys.
00:50:25.220 Let's win this. We got it. Thanks so much for listening. But real quick, before you go,
00:50:29.960 do us a small favor, take a moment and leave us a five-star review. If you enjoyed the show,
00:50:34.960 this is undoubtedly the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content
00:50:40.540 to as many people as possible.
00:50:42.600 Thanks so much.
